Giyuu had been one of the first Hashira. The third, in fact. After Tengen and Gyomei.
He gotten along well with them, although... 'getting along' were relative words. More so, they tolerated each other. Giyuu didn't really talk much, opted to stay silent. Gyomei was comfortable with that and Tengen appeared not to mind because, though he was very talkative, he preferred when it was quieter as his hearing was sensitive.
So, Giyuu got along with the Hashira, mostly. Kanae came along sometime later. She was very cheerful and the polar opposite of Giyuu, but she was kind and didn't mind his quietness. He found that he didn't mind her presence much, albeit he still acted the same.
And then Sanemi arrived.
He was like the disruption of the peace created within the Hashira. It was irritating.
When he went to his first meeting, he had erupted in anger at Kagaya and had been shouting at him. It was loud. And then, after the meeting had ended, the other Hashira had berated him for this.
Giyuu had stood by the side, deciding not to meddle with Sanemi. If he was always going to be an... explosive pomeranian, Giyuu should steer clear from this man.
Which was what he did. Mostly.
But it became obvious that it wouldn't be very easy when Sanemi decided to start bothering Giyuu, pestering him about being so quiet and unanswering. Normally, Giyuu would've ignored these irksome questions, but Sanemi was annoyingly persistant. And so, so very loud. Which was why he worked up the courage to respond, only to be talked over.
And thus began Giyuu's hate for Sanemi.
×××
When Sanemi had first become a Hashira, he had found himself in an almost feverish state. He was constantly tired and worked almost like a robot, doing things as if he had been programmed to. There were few times he felt like he could escape that, feel actually human again.
He found anger was a nice fuel of humanity to him, so he took it out on others, reveling at the feeling of temporary normalcy that came with it. It went away quickly and silence often brought back his numb, robotic state back, so he snapped at nearly everybody, making himself rather loathed personality-wise.
He didn't mind, not really. The only person he could care about what they thought of him was Masachika. And he was dead. So it really did not matter.
There was one Hashira whom he had decided to bother more than the others. Giyuu Tomioka, the Water Hashira. He was a really quiet person, rarely responding or speaking unless necessary. Because of Giyuu's ignorance, Sanemi found himself hovering around him more, feeling almost refreshed when immediate mirrored anger wasn't repelled back at him. It was annoying, of course. But annoyance meant he could feel. And feeling meant being... as okay as he could be.
Giyuu spoke only a couple times to him in response. Four, to be exact. His voice was quiet and collected, but a hint of irritation could be detected if you really paid attention. He was an interesting person, so full of mysteries and so closed off. Something else, besides his unbroken silence, drew Sanemi in. Like an old box in the far corner of the house, waiting to be opened and explored, except nobody was allowed to open it. Nobody was willing to, either. As if afraid something horrid would come out. Albeit it looked innocent on the outside, there was the small chance it would be filled with something terrible. To the point that even the box itself feared it's own being and refused to open up.
But Sanemi was curious.
Time flew on as usual—it never did stop, not for anyone or anything—and Sanemi grew less mechanical, more human. He found himself able to make skips in his usual schedule, able to live a bit more freely, despite his tightly programmed daily life.
He would use his occasional free time to wander around. He rarely actually spoke to anyone, only giving or following orders, occasionally engaging in small talk with some of the Hashira. But other than that, he kept to himself.
He was curious about Giyuu, however, which brought a bit of searching into his free time.
He would walk around, down random paths, looking for new places. Giyuu was one of the few Hashira's houses whom nobody knew where it was. Kanae's was free for anyone's knowledge, given that it was used for nursing people back to health often. Tengen invited the Hashira to his house from now and then, Kyojuro—who had become a Hashira recently—wasn't closed off about sharing and, though he didn't display it to the world, he did tell people if they asked.
Even Sanemi's, a select few knew.
But Giyuu's.
Giyuu's was only known to his crow, at this point, as he usually declined giving the knowledge to anyone. And something about that was peculiar to Sanemi. Like, what if there was an emergency? Would Giyuu simply live with the fact that whatever could happen might happen because nobody knew where he lived?
Although, it wasn't the worst thing possible, it was just something that set Giyuu aside from the others.
There was a lot that separated the Hashira from each other, of course. But Giyuu had something else that just... caught Sanemi's eye. Over and over again.
×××
Giyuu found himself growing more and more distant with the Hashira with each passing day. They already kept to themselves mostly, none of their schedules really overlapping, so it wasn't much different. But he started to avoid more so than mind his own business.
As the years past, more Hashira joined. Giyuu didn't feel connected to them, didn't feel like he could be like any of them. It was noticeable. And some of the Hashira tried to include him.
Although, include was a relative word. Some of them were kinder with it, but there were obviously those who were more... forceful. Like Sanemi.
Sanemi was, and had been since the day he'd became a Hashira, one of the most—or the most—irritating Hashira. He seemed apt to making Giyuu's life feel like that of a rat being chased by a cat, but not as life-threatening. Unless you counted going insane as life threatening.
One day, Sanemi had gone up to Giyuu—somehow having found him as he finished training somewhere in the clearing of a forest.
"Oi, Tomioka," he shouted, over the rush of water. There was a river, a loud one at that, that cut through the forest and skimmed along the edge of the field that Giyuu had found.
Giyuu turned. The weather was hot, so he had taken off the top of his uniform, folding that and his haori and placing it aside.
Deciding not to question why Sanemi was here, he cocked his head in question. "What?"
Sanemi seemed taken aback that he'd been responded to, but went on. "Uhm. Kanroji said that she wanted to invite all the Hashira on some shit sleepover and said I had to ask you to come," he said impatiently, his eyes flicking up and down, as if inspecting Giyuu.
"Oh. I won't go," Giyuu murmured. There was no reason to. It wasn't like the Hashira would actually want him to go.
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. "I figured."
"Then why did you ask?"
"Because Kanroji would get mad if I didn't. Which would induce ear-piercing cries about why," Sanemi snorted, rolling his eyes. He crossed his arms. He was sweating and the air was humid today, causing his hair to stick onto his skin.
"Ah."
Giyuu sheathed his katana, pulling his hair out of the ponytail to adjust it.
Sanemi watched him curiously, as if there was something to figure out.
"What?" Giyuu asked, upon noticing this.
"You never take down your hair," Sanemi said simply.
He was a lot less shout-y today, it was unsettling, almost.
"Okay."
They lapsed back into silence as Giyuu re-tied his hair back up, his hands sticky with sweat. The only sounds were of the rush water and the occasional bird from up ahead.
Sanemi wasn't leaving, which was curious. Especially since his eyes seemed to be tracking Giyuu, as if he was put in charge to guard him.
"...do you need anything?" Giyuu asked finally, growing uncomfortable.
"No," Sanemi murmured, turning away.
Confused, Giyuu watched as Sanemi left, without so much of an explanation. Odd.
×××
Fuck.
That day, that one day, that one stupid fucking day.
The sleepover thing was a lie. There hadn't been any sleepover. It had been an excuse to find Giyuu.
Sanemi hadn't figured he'd have any luck, so when he'd seen Giyuu there he'd instinctively called out to him. He'd managed to hide his surprise enough and masked it with the question he'd made up. Luckily, Giyuu had shot it down. Because if he hadn't...
But that was beside the point. It wasn't the question that made Sanemi panic. No, of course it wasn't.
It was the fact that when he had seen Giyuu there, he had... felt. Something. Something different.
Usually, anger was his key to reality. But, then, he hadn't been angry then. He had felt something else, something true. He couldn't distinguish it, being in some stupid trance when he'd felt it. But he knew that it was different.
So now he was tearing at his hair, wishing he'd figure it out because it was eating him alive now, and had been since the day he'd seen Giyuu there.
Giyuu without his-
No.
No, he wouldn't think about it. He wouldn't picture how Giyuu looked with his hair down, no shi... Shit. He shouldn't be thinking like this. He wouldn't!
Fuck.
Sanemi stood and grabbed his katana, pushing it into his belt and gritting his teeth in frustration. He stomped to the front of his house, slamming the door open and unsheathing his katana.
He brought the sword above his head and slashed down.
One. Two. Three.
Don't think about Giyuu. Don't think about him.
Twelve. Thirteen. Fourteen.
You hate him, remember? He's stupid.
Thirty six. Thirty seven. Thirty eight.
His boring responses and his way of ignoring.
Sixty four. Sixty five. Sixty six.
The way he distances himself, how he doesn't talk.
Ninety eight. Ninety nine. One hundred.
His stupid blue eyes and stupid black hair.
One hundred and forty one. One hundred and forty two. One hundred and forty three.
His stupid voice you want to hear every day. His stupid mouth you want to-
Sanemi threw his katana down in frustration, kicking the handle and making it skid away, hitting a small boulder a few feet from him.
He ran his hand through his hair, biting his bottom lip furiously until it bled.
"Goddammit," he hissed, the metallic taste of blood filling his mouth.
He sighed and sat down, burying his face in his hands. Fuck. What the fuck was he supposed to do now?
×××
Sanemi's uncharacteristic behavior had caught Giyuu's attention. It wasn't in his full interest, of course, but it was enough to make him curious. Yes, the weather had been hot and it made some people drowsy but... it hadn't ever visibly affected Sanemi enough to make him so quiet and... yeah.
Which made Giyuu wonder, was Sanemi ever quiet? The only time he could think of the scarred Hashira being silent was... when in Kagaya's presence. Meaning, only twice a year. Which meant it was very rare.
So, upon this realization, Giyuu decided he would try to figure it out. It wouldn't hurt to try getting along with Sanemi, right? Besides, maybe that would mean less yelling. And he would have something to do.
For a while, he forgot he was going to find out the reason of Sanemi's random personality slip, as it had completely left his mind; Sanemi wasn't exactly a priority to him.
But then he ran into Sanemi again one day, who seemed to be in a subdued mood, not even bothering to acknowledge Giyuu.
They were in the middle of a town, though, so it wasn't completely unreasonable.
Giyuu watched Sanemi carefully for a bit, before turning to continue buying his food.
Once he had paid and left, he turned back, noticing Sanemi instantly. He approached him cautiously, looking up curiously at the store the Wind Hashira had walked into. A sweets store? For pastries, mochis, and bread? Was he buying something for someone?
Giyuu hovered inside the store uncomfortably. A woman glanced at him and he quickly adjusted his haori over his katana; when people saw it, they usually called for security. He would know from experience.
Sanemi appeared to have noticed him immediately as he gave Giyuu an annoyed look, picking up a box of mochi that had been put down for him on the counter.
He walked towards the exit, muttering to Giyuu as he passed.
"The hell are you doing here?" he hissed between his teeth, his voice low.
The store was filled with a low chatter by the people around them and Giyuu quickly followed Sanemi out, deciding he didn't want to stay in this enclosed space with an almost intoxicating smell of sugar.
Back outside—and thank god for the fresh air—Giyuu and Sanemi walked quietly, side by side, through the streets.
The box, Giyuu noticed, was full of ohagi. Who liked ohagi? Mitsuri, maybe? He wasn't aware that Sanemi and Mitsuri were on good terms.
They continued in silence for a couple minutes until they reached a part that wasn't as crowded.
Sanemi stopped then, resulting in Giyuu stopping as well. They turned to each other and Sanemi glared at him.
"Were you stalking me or something? I saw you staring, earlier," Sanemi said, crossing his arms, the box of ohagi clutched in one hand.
"I wasn't," Giyuu mumbled.
"Right." Sanemi rolled his eyes. "Why'd you follow me into the bakery, then? You didn't buy shit."
Remembering the ohagi, Giyuu changed the subject. "Who is the ohagi for?"
"...The fuck does that have to do with anything? And it's not for anyone, I'm eating it"—he uncrossed his arms here, tapping the box—"And you didn't answer my question, dipshit."
Completely ignoring the last part, Giyuu said, surprised, "You like sweets?"
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. "And you like ignoring me. What the hell does my taste in food have to do with shit??"
Giyuu frowned. If Sanemi ate things like ohagi often, why wasn't he nicer? Like Mitsuri!
"Oi, you going to answer my question?" Sanemi snapped, waving the box in front of Giyuu's face.
"What question?" Giyuu asked, drawing blank.
Sanemi groaned. "I can't tell if you're really that stupid, or if you're just pretending."
"I'm... not pretending," Giyuu mumbled, confused.
"Goddammit, never-fucking-mind," Sanemi sighed, turning. "I'm going to go. Don't follow me."
Giyuu's frown deepened but he nodded, watching Sanemi walk away.
Sanemi was in a peculiar mood that way. Although he was still as fiesty as ever, he didn't shout as much as usual. His voice was quieter. It was almost pleasant. Almost.
×××
Giyuu had been quite talkative that day. Had a randomly curious nature, followed by a million questions. Sanemi couldn't tell if he liked this or if he hated it. On the one hand, it was nice to hear Giyuu's voice a bit more. On the other, he was being ignorant and nosy as fuck. But... he seemed curious as to what Sanemi was doing. Was he interested in-
No. That was stupid thinking, and being a Hashira did not allow stupid thinking!
Sanemi had been deep in thought about all of this for a couple hours now and was eating his ohagi whilst he walked towards... Where was he again?
He looked around, confused, and found himself standing admist a bamboo forest, water from a supposed river could be heard in the background. There was a house, a little ways forward, which was nestled comfortably in a small man-made clearing in the forest. The ground was gritty, like thickly packed sand, and it made a slight crunching sound as Sanemi walked towards the house, curious.
He'd never been here before.
He looked around, his eyes catching onto everything. Then he realized there was approaching him from behind and he turned, noticing the motion of a person, entering the clearing. He quickly hid by the side of the house, waiting for the person.
Their footsteps were moderate but precise, and they grew closer to the house before pausing and suddenly moving quickly to where Sanemi hid.
Fuck.
But then the person came into view and...
"Tomioka?"
Giyuu blinked at him, his hand dropping from his katana. "What are you doing here, Shinazugawa?" he asked quietly, his brilliant blue eyes flicking over Sanemi as if he was searching for an answer written upon his body.
"I was just walking and ended up here somehow." Then, with a realization, Sanemi said, "Do you live here?"
Giyuu gave a hesitant nod. "I wasn't aware I told anyone of this place."
"You didn't. I don't know fuck where I am," Sanemi said, retreating from his hiding spot to stand in front of Giyuu.
"Ah. Hello, again," Giyuu murmured. He turned, walking to his front door and unlocking it, opening the door.
Sanemi nodded, standing awkwardly.
Giyuu glanced at him. "Are you busy?" he asked.
"No," Sanemi said. "My next mission is just patrol shit, and it shouldn't be too far."
"Okay. Do you want to come in?" Giyuu offered, stepping inside.
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to drug me with tea?"
"...What?"
"Nevermind. Sure."
Giyuu nodded, motioning for him to come inside.
The interior of Giyuu's house was modest, kept mostly simple—which made sense given that the Hashira didn't usually devote their time to decorating their house. Except Mitsuri, maybe.
Sanemi closed the door behind him, looking around. "Why do you never tell anyone about your house?" he asked, absentmindedly.
Giyuu didn't respond, getting something from a different room.
Sanemi sighed. "You don't like responding, do you?" he asked pointedly, following Giyuu into what appeared to be the kitchen.
Giyuu glanced at him, then handed the albino male a teapot. Steam was filtering through the top, making Sanemi's hand feel humid and hot. He placed it on the knee-high table, confused why he'd been handed it. Giyuu gave him two cups in following and he poured the tea into them, watching the steam swirl and dissipate into the air.
Sanemi picked up one of the cups, the warmth from the tea seeping through the cup and warming his hands. Giyuu sat down across from where Sanemi stood, picking up his own cup.
It was silent as the two Hashira sipped their tea, neither having anything to say. Sanemi looked up, taking in the sight of Giyuu who sat quietly, his cup clasped in his hands, his eyes cast down, watching the swirl of the liquid. He looked cute this way, really. He always looked so subdued but it was adorable.
Honestly, something must be horrible wrong with Sanemi if he was thinking like this. He couldn't stop, somehow. Which was irritating to himself, almost worrying, really. Mostly annoying. He didn't want to be thinking about Giyuu 24/7, didn't want to be unable to look at Giyuu without falling into a fucking puddle.
He was fighting so hard to keep his composure at the moment, hoping beyond hope his face wasn't red. It was so fucking stupid, to look at Giyuu and think, God that man is so beautiful. Had he, or had he not, hated him before? Albeit, it hadn't truly been hate...
"What?"
Sanemi looked up at the sound of Giyuu's voice, startled by the sudden noise in the previously hushed room.
Giyuu was staring at him, his eyes wide. It was tripping to see him whenever he showed emotion. It was unnatural on his face.
"What?" Sanemi asked. He placed his cup down on the table, having finished his tea a couple minutes ago.
Giyuu's mouth opened and closed soundlessly before saying, quietly, "You... think I'm pretty?"
Sanemi blinked. "The fuck are you-" ...Oh. Oh, oh god, he must've said it out loud, he must've told Giyuu without even realizing that-
Giyuu put his cup down as well, biting his lip. His face was mostly impassive, though, and it made everything... so much worse.
"No. I, uhm, I didn't... I didn't mean to say that-" Sanemi stuttered, worsening matters. He should've just said it was a joke, or something, what the hell was wrong with him? He was stumbling over himself, backing away. Why was he so nervous? This was Giyuu, for fucks sake! He didn't actually care! ...Right?
Giyuu stood as well, nearly knocking down the table in the process. He steadied it and moved forwards, reaching an arm out to grab Sanemi's wrist—instinctively, most likely—but Sanemi had retreated already, was out the door and heading towards the front.
Giyuu followed him quickly, stopping him before he opened the door.
"Shinazugawa?"
And then it was like words suddenly stopped existing and Sanemi froze, his eyes flicking around nervously. "W...What?" he asked, his voice meek and timid. Disgusting. Why was he being like this? God, he needed help. What the fuck.
"Did you... Did you mean it?" Giyuu mumbled, his hand clasped around Sanemi's wrist. The feel of his palm was warm and, though his hands were calloused from years of training, his hand was almost soft.
"Mean what?" Stupid. This was stupid, Sanemi was stupid, everything was-
"What you said about... me."
Yes. He meant it. Meant more than that.
"No."
"Oh."
Giyuu let go of Sanemi's wrist and his arm fell to his side.
There was an awkward moment of silence and then-
"...sorry. Bye, Shinazugawa," he said quietly, opening the door for Sanemi and backing away slightly.
Sanemi didn't move for a second, his body feeling numb for no reason.
"Are you leaving?" Giyuu asked uncertainly.
"...Yes," Sanemi said, regaining feeling in his body and quickly making his way out.
He shut the door behind him, walking quickly through the clearing and back onto the path outside of it. He looked from his left to right then, deciding he didn't know where the hell he was, turned left and broke out into a slow run, his pace quickening by the second.
As he ran, he felt as if his lungs had deflated, and he breathed heavily through his mouth, as if suddenly he had lost the ability to run.
What the hell was that? Why had he acted like that? What the fuck was wrong with him?
×××
Giyuu was in a panic. He was panicking because:
1. Sanemi had found his house somehow.
2. Sanemi had been quiet for the longest time possible for him.
3. Sanemi had been drinking tea with Giyuu inside Giyuu's house... quietly.
4. Sanemi said that Giyuu was beautiful... then went on to deny it.
5. Sanemi had been so awkward.
6. Sanemi had then proceeded to run away after Giyuu had caught hold of his arm.
What the hell had just happened?!
×××
Sanemi was also panicking. Waaay worse.
He found Obanai quickly and, in the most incomprehensible way, recounted what had happened.
Obanai stared at him, confused and irritated. "What? Will you slow the fuck down and catch your breath first?"
Sanemi ignored him, deciding to explain in a faster way. "I think I like Tomioka."
Obanai crossed his arms. "Okay?"
"'Fuck you mean, 'okay'?!" Sanemi snapped.
"It was obvious that you liked him, idiot," Obanai said. He rolled his eyes. "Is that all? A stupid revelation everyone but you already knew? If so, I will be with Kanroji, thank you very much."
"Oh my god, think about something other than your girlfriend for once!!!" Sanemi groaned. "And what the fuck do you mean, 'everyone already knew'? I didn't even know!"
"Riiighttt, this is a massive waste of my time, I'll be off now," Obanai said, turning away.
"Bitch," Sanemi grumbled, watching Obanai practically skip off to Mitsuri.
He sighed, sitting down on the ground, leaning against a random tree that just so happened to be there.
He buried his face in his hands, wishing he knew the answers to the world. And wishing he wasn't thinking about Giyuu.
×××
Sanemi had suddenly become a person that Giyuu could be more than mildly interested in, someone he needed to find something out about but he didn't quite know what. And given that Sanemi had basically run away from him the last time they'd met, Giyuu opted to talk to Obanai about Sanemi.
Upon approaching him and asking him about Sanemi, Obanai simply said, "He fell in love with someone," and gave no other explanation before leaving.
Almost frustrated by this response, Giyuu searched for someone else who could tell him a little something about the Hashira he'd always wanted to avoid.
He went to Mitsuri next, whom was known for her friendliness and perhaps she had managed to speak a bit with Sanemi before.
She didn't say much, only burst into a fit of giggling when he asked about Sanemi.
Giyuu just stood there awkwardly, unsure what to do.
Mitsuri told him, then, that perhaps Sanemi was acting like this because he liked someone.
Which only made it all the more annoying.
Shinobu, Tengen and Kyojuro only gave similar answers to those of Obanai's and Mitsuri's. So, Giyuu gave up asking the Hashira and quickly tracked down Genya.
Genya was surprised to hear the question.
"Aniki?" he'd said. "What do you mean?"
"Yes. That's what he said. Then he left," Giyuu said blandly.
"Oh. Uhm." Genya hesitated. "I don't know. I don't know him as well as I used to."
"Oh."
There was a moment of silence.
"What do you know about him, then? Be it not of his present self," Giyuu asked.
"Uhh... He's really good with children! He cared for me and my younger siblings really well, as if he was our father," Genya said, a smile slowly spreading on his face. "He was really kind. I remember he would do anything to help Mother when she needed it, even did most of the things she usually did just so she could sleep well that night."
Giyuu raised an eyebrow. "He sounds very different."
Genya frowned. "I'm sure he's still like that..."
"Mhm. Go on."
"Alright. Uhm..." Genya then proceeded to go on a rant about the most random facts about Sanemi, from his favorite food—ohagi—to the friends he'd had in the past.
Giyuu listened with interest, not realizing there could be so much character to a man who seemed to make it his life goal to annoy people.
At the end of Genya's rant, he had said, "he might like you, you know, if he said that. Or he was thinking about someone else?" Genya concluded, referring to Sanemi calling him beautiful—then claiming he didn't mean it.
"Like me?..." Giyuu asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Mhm!" Genya waved, walking away. "Tell me if anything happens!"
"Alright..." Giyuu watched him leave, then turned back to his own thoughts.
Like him? Why would anyone like Giyuu? And, of all people, Sanemi! Although, it would tie together with what the Hashira had said, given that they'd all said that Sanemi had 'fallen in love.'
But... how? And why?
×××
Sanemi successfully managed to avoid Giyuu for about three days before he was found. He had been walking down a path after his mission, on his way home, when he ran into Giyuu. Giyuu, as it turned out, had had a mission near Sanemi's and had also been on his way home.
"Shinazugawa?"
Sanemi's heart stopped. Fuck.
Giyuu was standing there, his expression all innocent and unassuming and... God. Yes, yes he looked like a fucking god.
"What?" Sanemi snapped, fighting against the heat that rose in his body. Goddammit.
"I've been looking for you..." Giyuu said, stepping forwards to be face to face with the Wind Hashira, his gaze curious, a contrast to his usually impassive expression.
"...Why?" It's not because he's interested, it is not. Sanemi's eyes flicked anywhere but to Giyuu's face and he pursed his lips uncertainly.
"I wanted to ask you about something," Giyuu replied, tilting his head slightly. "...Why won't you look at me?"
"Why the fuck are you so talkative?!" Sanemi asked, his voice coming out more irritated than he'd intended. His heart seemed to be working again; or maybe not. It beat quickly, too quickly, and his breath came out forced and quick.
"Are you okay?" Giyuu's voice was concerned, he frowned. "Your face is red..."
"Fuck off. It's... 'cause I was running a lot. And you aren't answering me," Sanemi mumbled, turning his face away.
"Oh." Giyuu paused, seemingly forgetting what he was doing here. "I wanted to ask you some-"
"I get it, you want to ask me something. Get the fuck on with it! I don't have time to waste on your shitty ass," Sanemi said, crossing his arms. Why was he acting like this, as if he could barely control his emotions anymore. It was stupid, and annoying.
"...Sorry." Giyuu pouted. "Do you... like me?"
Sanemi froze. "What?"
"Do you like me?..." Giyuu repeated.
"No, I heard you, don't fucking repeat it," Sanemi gritted out. "Why the hell would you ask that?!"
"...I was... wondering about your behavior. It was peculiar and I... couldn't fathom why you had acted like that," Giyuu said quietly. "I asked the Hashira and your brother and... they all said you liked someone—though Genya said that, more specifically, you might like... me?"
"I..." Sanemi was at loss for words. He couldn't like Giyuu! Not that stupid, quiet, bitchass bastard! Except, it would make sense. It would explain why he always felt so... Oh my god, he needed to get out of here. He couldn't bear having Giyuu's annoyingly pretty eyes staring at him curiously, as if he hadn't just dropped the worst question he ever could.
"No. No, I hate you! I don't like you! Fuck off!" Sanemi shouted, turning and quickly running off, not looking back.
Fuck.
×××
There was something wrong with Giyuu.
When Sanemi had left, shouting that he didn't like him, Giyuu had felt a pang in his chest. As if he was disappointed.
Why would he be? He'd never cared much what Sanemi said before. And yet...
And yet now he suddenly cared, suddenly wished to know why. Why what? Why everyone claimed Sanemi had fallen in love? Why Sanemi had called him beautiful? Why Sanemi seemed to hate him so much? Why he felt like it all actually mattered?
He had trudged home, nearly bumping into several trees in the process. Then he had flopped onto his futon and proceeded to stare at the cealing, re-thinking his life. The image of Sanemi from earlier flashed in his memory. Sanemi, his cheeks flushed,—from running???—his eyes averted and face scrunched from anger. He looked like an angry dog, really. But cuter.
Wait. What?
No, no, not cute. Sanemi was never cute.
Giyuu sighed, dropping a hand onto his forehead and running his hand through his hair, closing his eyes. What the fuck was wrong with him?

It was dark and raining, though the air was warm. Sanemi was trudging through a muddy forest without a clue to where he was going, exhaustion dragging him down. He was soaked to the bone and shivering despite the warm weather. As he walked, he noted that somebody was somewhere around him. He kept his guard up, quieting his footsteps as he continued on. Then, at an intersection of the path, he bumped into... Genya.
Genya had his arm over his head and had apparently only just noticed Sanemi, skittering backwards in his surprise. "A-... Aniki?!" Genya said, startled.
Sanemi grumbled. Of course it was him. "What?" he asked, irritated.
"Uhm. I was on a mission," Genya mumbled.
"What, are you going to bleed to death now??" Sanemi said, noticing the blood staining Genya's clothing. "Quit the fucking Corps if you're going to be so useless at your job."
"No! I'm fine! It's a light wound. And I won't quit!! I'm not useless!" Genya insisted, pouting.
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "Then get your ass to Kocho's. I don't want to deal with you right now," he said, turning away from his (not) brother and stalking away.
"Wait- Aniki-" Genya called out, following him.
"Fuck off! And I'm not your brother!" Sanemi snapped, not turning to look at him.
"Please-"
"Shut the actual fuck up," he said, turning and pushing Genya to the ground.
Genya slipped on the mud and fell on his back. He frowned but stopped following Sanemi who walked away, through the forest.
Sanemi looked around, trying to figure out where the hell he was. He noticed a path that looked vaguely familiar to the left and he followed it, his steps slow. He let out an exaggerated sigh every now and then, wishing he could just stop Genya from being Genya for once.
He looked up and found that, as the path went on, there was one part that entered into what looked like a bamboo forest. Ah. Giyuu's house.
He contemplated going inside for a minute before deciding to just walk past it, not wanting to deal with Giyuu asking if... No, he wouldn't finish the sentence.
So he trudged on. Then, to his luck, he heard his name being called out. He turned with a sigh, meeting Giyuu's gaze. "What is it?" he asked, his voice coming out harsher than intended.
"Uhm. Shinazugawa, what're you doing outside now?" Giyuu asked. "It's raining, you should get inside unless you want to get a cold."
"Yeah, well, I have no fucking idea where I am. I'll be fine," Sanemi said, shaking his head.
"Come inside!" Giyuu insisted. "I have a mission I have to get to in a bit, I think, but it'll be fine. You can stay here so Kocho doesn't kill you for getting sick."
"Fair enough..." Sanemi sighed, caving in. He followed Giyuu inside, slipping off his shoes.
"You should bathe and change," Giyuu said, looking Sanemi up and down. "I'll put extra clothing and a towel in the bathroom and make an extra futon for you."
"Alright. Thanks," Sanemi said, wondering why the hell Giyuu was talking to much.
Giyuu nodded and went off to do what he had said, leaving Sanemi standing in the hall.
×××
After Giyuu had made sure that Sanemi had everything he might need—putting out a tray of food next to the futon as well—he quickly wrote a note explaining that he would be out on a mission and that Sanemi could sleep or whatever he wanted while waiting.
He left the note on top of the futon and grabbed his haori, slipping it on. He picked up his katana, pushing it into his belt, and heading outside into the rain.
The mission was easy—the demons being surprisingly incompetent for a Hashira to be called there. And, after making sure the surviving rank-and-file Demon Slayers were alright, he made his way home. Unfortunately he'd been held up by the other Demon Slayers so dawn was already approaching.
The rain had settled to a light sprinkle, almost non-existent, and the sky was brightening as the sun slowly arose.
Back home, Giyuu quickly bathed and changed, then went to look for Sanemi. He entered his room and found Sanemi entangled between the sheets of his futon. The food was half eaten and the note sat on the tray.
Giyuu almost smiled at the sight. It was really nice to see the humanity in Sanemi; it was rare. He slipped into his own futon and closed his eyes, falling asleep soon after.
×××
When Sanemi awoke, light was filtering through a window. He ran a hand through the mess of his hair, moving the blankets off of him. He looked to his left and saw Giyuu fast asleep. He smiled—then quickly frowned at himself for smiling—and turned to his food, which was mostly cold now. Regardless, he ate the rest of it. Once he finished, he picked up the tray and took it to where he presumed the kitchen was, washing his bowls.
As he dried his hands, he heard Giyuu walking and turned.
Giyuu was at the doorway, looking quite illegally adorable in all his sleepiness, his hair messy as hell. He blinked wearily at Sanemi. "Good morning."
"'Morning," Sanemi returned, nodding. "It's strange to wake up actually in the morning."
Giyuu nodded back. "Mhm."
"Are you hungry?"
"A bit."
"Want me to make something?" he offered.
Giyuu raised an eyebrow. "You can cook?"
"Don't look at me like that. Of course I can, what kind of eldest sibling would I be without knowing how to cook??" Sanemi scoffed. "I'll show you."
"I wouldn't want to bother you, it's fine," Giyuu murmured. "I can make myself something."
"What, canned tomato sauce? I'm making it. I took your question as a fucking challenge," Sanemi said, pushing Giyuu out of the kitchen. "I'm going to use whatever the hell you have in here, by the way!!"
Giyuu called back a complaint in response.
Sanemi grinned and started scouring the kitchen for ingredients, deciding he would make the most elaborate food he could with what he found. Literally for no reason at all.
×××
Sanemi had called Giyuu in to eat—after he had waited for an hour—and now, sitting before him, was... The most food he'd seen in front of him in his life since... Since he was thirteen. No, well, not the most. But it reminded him of when Tsutako had guests over and she wanted to make the food be the best it possibly could be.
"Uhhm. Thank you..." Giyuu said, still in shock.
Sanemi smirked. "Who can't cook now?!"
"It wasn't even a challenge!" Giyuu whined.
"Mhmmm, well now it is! Whatever you don't eat I'm sending to Rengoku probably. Or Kanroji. Either of them will eat it without a question," Sanemi said, crossing his arms. "Now, eat."
"Why're you feeding me???" Giyuu huffed, though he sat down and picked up a fork that Sanemi had laid down for him.
"Because I never do this anymore and I was bored. And I didn't feel like training yet," he said simply, sitting down across from Giyuu. "Why, do you not want to eat?"
Giyuu shook his head. "No, no, I do. You're just being so nice today-"
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll stop being nice." He stood and walked to the other side of the table and smacked Giyuu's head. "Eat!!"
"I... I preferred you when you were nice..." Giyuu admitted, quickly starting to eat.
"Exactly. Besides, you can't be questioning me when you're talking as much as Rengoku today," Sanemi pointed out.
"No' af mush," Giyuu mumbled through mouthfuls of food.
"Hm. True. And don't talk with your mouth full or I'll squeeze the food out of you," Sanemi threatened, going back to his side of the table and plopping down.
Giyuu glared at him but finished chewing before responding. "What are you, my mom?"
"Yes, I'm your mom now. Manners!!" Sanemi shouted, picking up a piece of bread and chucking it at Giyuu.
"Hey- Parents don't do that- I think-" Giyuu whined, picking up the bread and putting it on the table.
"You 'think'??" Sanemi asked incredulously, starting to eat.
"My sister raised me," Giyuu said with a shrug—then realized what he said and quickly stuffed food in his mouth, wishing he wasn't being so open suddenly. Something about Sanemi's atmosphere today just made him so comfortable, though. His teasing manner—and not in a rude way. Like... Sabito.
"Ah. Nice," Sanemi murmured, picking up a cup and filling it with tea.
"Mm. Thanks for the food, again," Giyuu said, giving him a slight smile.
Sanemi raised his eyebrows at the smile, but said nothing of it, simply nodding. "Sure."
×××
Back at his own house, Sanemi was changed in his uniform again. He laid the clothes Giyuu had let him borrow down and- Oh shit, he had taken them home- He contemplated going back to Giyuu's house, then decided he'd rather not bother and headed outside to train.
His mind was filled with thoughts of Giyuu—Giyuu's smile, his house, just him in general—and he found it hard to concentrate on his training. So, only ten minutes after he'd started, he promptly gave up, deciding to do something else and set out on a walk.
Over the next few days, Sanemi found himself mostly alone. Although there was the occasional nod from Obanai when they passed by each other, he was mostly solitary. Days were busier now, with demons multiplying each second. The past dull of life seemed to have faded recently, however, which made him not mind the constant missions. In honesty, he felt relieved. But he had a feeling Giyuu had something to do with his life feeling like life again, a fact which he preferred to ignore. There was no way in hell he would ever admit to anyone that he liked Giyuu, because it was Giyuu. If it were literally anyone else, he would've just told them. But Giyuu?? The 'I'm not like you' quiet-ass bastard who was way too cute than he should be allowed to be—who was a stupid, oblivious fuck??? Him??
Nah.
Honestly, Giyuu seemed to have it figured out though. So hopefully Sanemi wouldn't have to clarify. Because if he did, then they were better off not interacting at all.

"He likes you, it's obvious," Shinobu said, rolling her eyes. She taped the bandage around Giyuu's wrist and let go of his arm. "Anyway, I'm done. Don't force your arm past its limits, know your own strength, idiot. Or weaknesses, if you may."
Giyuu blinked. "I don't think he likes me. He said he didn't."
"Does Shinazugawa seem like the type to be honest when it comes to this?" Shinobu asked, raising an eyebrow. She stood, putting away her supplies.
"He's annoyingly honest," Giyuu murmured, standing as well.
"Fair point. But! Keywords, 'when it comes to this.' He wouldn't just straight up say, 'Hey, I like you.' Doesn't sound like him," Shinobu said, picking up a pen and tapping Giyuu's nose with the tip of it.
Giyuu batted the pen away, shaking his head. "No, he seems like the type to do that."
"Hm. Not with you, then," she said, grabbing his non-injured hand and forcing the pen into it.
"I don't need this," Giyuu said, trying to give it back.
"You do. Sign this," Shinobu said, shoving a paper in his face.
Giyuu eyed it. "What is it?"
"You're overworking yourself. This gives you permission to have a break," she said impatiently. "Write your name there."
"...No. I'm alright," he said, frowning.
She sighed. "Worth a shot. I'll just forge your signature. Anyway, back to Shinazugawa."
"Hey-" Giyuu whined as she snatched the pen and paper back.
A smile as sweet as a lemon spread across her face. "Yes?"
"...You're a pain, Kocho," he grumbled, sitting back down.
"That's all? Very well, let's go back to the topic of your boyfriend. Now, tell me, do you like him?" she asked, leaning closer to him.
Heat seemed to flicker into his cheeks and he fidgetted with his sleeve. "No..."
She laughed. "I'm not Uzui but I could hear your lie from miles away."
"I'm not lying..."
"Okay, well, tell me this. Since all of this"—she waved her hand over him, as if it would explain anything—"has happened, you've been, one, talking more, two, a lot more expressive, three, more distracted. And... four? You're blushing. When I asked you, you turned red."
"I did not!" Giyuu said indignantly, although he was sure he only turned redder.
"You're annoying. You're like a child," she said, exasperated. "Fine. Be it your way. But he does like you, mark my words. So if you two end up dating, I get to say 'I told you so.' Also, I better be the first person you tell."
Giyuu frowned. "We won't date. I don't like him, and I'm sure he doesn't like me."
"Suit yourself." She hit his head with a ruler that she'd apparently conjured out of nowhere. "Now get out. I have more important things to deal with."
Giyuu sighed and stood, quickly leaving before she decided to bother him again.
There was no way what she was saying was true. Why the hell would Giyuu fall for... Sanemi?! And vice versa. It just didn't make sense...
×××
"You're going to be the death of me," Sanemi said, sighing. Giyuu was currently on his back, clinging on for dear life, as Sanemi stalked to the ravenette's room.
Sanemi had finally decided to bring back Giyuu's clothes—once he'd worked up the courage to willingly visit him—only to find Giyuu collapsed on the ground having apparently been training for some hours and hadn't been hydrated enough.
"I'm sorryyy," Giyuu mumbled into Sanemi's shoulder.
"Save your apologies for Kocho, you better hope she doesn't barricade you in your room," he said, rolling his eyes. He kicked down Giyuu's bedroom door and marched inside, dropping the Hashira on his bed. "Sleep."
"I'm convinced you're trying to mother me," Giyuu said, a hand drapping over his forehead and obscuring his eyes. "First you cook me food and now you make me sleep."
Sanemi scoffed. "Your fault for being so incompetent. And I'm not your mother. What, do you want me to be? Want me to kiss you goodnight?"
Giyuu raised his arm to look at Sanemi. "Would you do it?"
His eyes were curious, a striking blue. Usually they seemed to hold no life in them, no emotion, no passion, no nothing. But there was a glint to it now, seeming to light up Giyuu's face like a beacon.
Sanemi swallowed. "Would you ask?"
Giyuu's lips curved in a small smile. "Touché."
Sanemi sighed, shaking his head—more at himself. "You're stupid."
"I'll sleep now," Giyuu informed him, pulling the sheets over himself.
"You better. I'm staying here 'till you sleep."
"What?! You creep," he whined.
"Either that or I tell Kocho," Sanemi said, set on his decision.
"...Fine, stalk me all you want," Giyuu said, frowning and closing his eyes.
Sanemi smiled to himself, leaning against the wall and waiting.
The room drew to a quiet hum, the only sound being the two Hashira's breathing.  After a while, Giyuu's breath finally calmed into a slow, settled sleep, his face relaxed and soothed.
Sanemi stepped towards the bed quietly, hovering over him. He knelt beside Giyuu and, once he decided that he really was asleep, started to step away. Then he paused, his eyes trailing to Giyuu's lips.
He immediately struck down the idea, mentally berating himself for even thinking it. He parted the dark locks resting on Giyuu's forehead, placing a gentle kiss there before quickly fixing the Hashira's hair and retreating from the room, making his way outside.
The cool air hit his face as he stepped out, but he barely noticed it, heat flickering in his cheeks as he walked out of the clearing and into the path that would lead him back. God, why was he such a mess...
(i loved writing that sm)
×××
Giyuu was a light sleeper.
Anyone in the Demon Slayer Corps had to be, or they wouldn't even pass Final Selection. So, of course, he had awoken. Though he had been too sleepy to comprehend why he had woken up so randomly, and so quickly, at the time, he quickly realized it once Sanemi had left.
Now he lay, curled up in a ball, his face buried in his palms, mentally screaming. Because.. what the hell had just happened?! But... he wasn't complaining.
Wait- Why not-
He pulled the blanket over his head, engolfing himself in the darkness. No, this wasn't better. It only made his face hotter. He sat up, the cool air bursting upon him. He fanned himself, trying to calm his heartbeat.
Fuck, he was in love, wasn't he. He was in love, he was in love with Sanemi Shinazugawa. He was a fucking mess.
×××
"...You look like Tomioka just kissed you," Obanai said, crossing his arms and leaning back against a tree.
Sanemi had found him, after a while, and was trying to get his thoughts together, pacing up and down on the side of the path. "He didn't! I did!"
"Wait what-" Obanai said, standing up straight and leaning towards him. "What do you mean?!"
Sanemi let out a half-sigh, half scream, raking his hand through his hair. "Not... Not fully, just on his forehead. And he was asleep. BUT STILL!!"
Obanai slumped back against the tree, rolling his eyes. "Coward," he coughed.
"Oh, shut the fuck up. It's not like you have kissed Kanroji yet," Sanemi spat, stopping in front of Obanai.
"Yeah, well, unlike you, I have still been way more successful!!" he retorted. "All you have done is eat breakfast with him!! Meanwhile, I've eaten lunch and breakfast with her many days, gone on walks with her, bought her gifts, hugged her..."
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "Yet you haven't told her that you like her."
"Hey! You haven't told Tomioka either!!" Obanai pointed out.
"Righhttt, and who, exactly, has liked their crush for longer?? Hmm? Oh, right! You!" Sanemi laughed. "Your arguments are pitiful."
"You're freaking out about kissing Tomioka on the fucking forehead when he was asleep, don't call me pitiful," Obanai grumbled.
"Hm. Fair enough," Sanemi decided.
"Look, take Tomioka out on a walk or something equivalent to a date, for all I care. But if you keep ranting about how you kissed him on the forehead without him knowing then I'm going to find Tomioka and tell him how you feel. I don't give a fuck anymore," Obanai told him, moving away from the tree and walking back onto the path.
Sanemi turned towards him. "Consider it the same for you. I don't know how long I can stand hearing you talk about Kanroji. 'Oh my god! Kanroji told me we can eat lunch together, just like yesterday, and the day before, and the day before, and the day before, and the day bef-'"
"I GET IT!!!" Obanai snapped, rubbing his temples. "Fine. You stop, I stop."
"Deal."
Sanemi grinned. "Have fun eating lunch with her again. Or, rather, watching her eat lunch."
Obanai pushed him. "Fuck off."
×××
Sanemi had kissed him. He'd kissed him, he had kissed him, oh my god, Sanemi had-
Well. It could've just been to the joke from before. About 'kissing him goodnight.' BUT STILL. AND GIYUU HAD BEEN ASLEEP(ish).
Which made it all the more... Confusing. Maybe Sanemi saw him only as a sibling or a child or something. He did keep taking care of him, which didn't even seem coincidental anymore. As if, assuming one could believe in fate, they were being purposefully brought together. Constantly in each other's ways. ...Not that Giyuu minded.
In fact, he liked spending more time with Sanemi.
The fact of which was a huge shock to himself. Hadn't he just hated Sanemi?
Well. Things always changed, no...?
Maybe this change wouldn't be bad, though. Maybe he should try embracing it.
Giyuu found himself constantly distracted by these thoughts as he went on with his days. But, surprisingly, he didn't come across Sanemi for a while. Either Sanemi was avoiding him—which was reasonable, yet disappointing—or their schedules just kept them apart from each other. Whatever the reason was, Giyuu ended up going in search of Sanemi, wanting to clarify the ki...
No, he wouldn't say it. Wouldn't think it. He preferred not to feel as if he would have a heart attack—an abnormal heartbeat and flushed face...
He sighed, mussing up his hair so it covered his face, continuing to walk briskly down the path. He avoided some Demon Slayers who had seemingly popped out of nowhere and were attempting to talk to them, mentally berating himself for not being careful and getting unwanted attention. Just as he was about to give up and let them talk to him, he noticed Sanemi somewhere in the close distance.
He sped up, ignoring the calls of the other Demon Slayers who trotted behind him.
Sanemi looked up upon all the noise and seemed to be holding back laughter at the sight of Giyuu's pleading gaze. He cleared his throat, grabbing Giyuu's arm and pushing him behind him.
"The hell do you want?" he asked the others, glaring at them.
They all shrank back. One of them spoke up timidly, his voice shaky. "W... We just wanted to talk to Water-Pillar-sama..."
"I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. See, I need him somewhere. You all can go now," Sanemi said, waving them off.
"But-"
"I said I need him. You said you wanted something from him. Need is more important than want, fuckers. If you don't leave now, maybe we can see how well you can weild your katanas against a Hashira," Sanemi said, a hand hovering over his katana handle.
"Shinazugawa, there's no need to-" Giyuu started.
Sanemi shushed him, turning back to the Demon Slayers. "So? What will it be?"
They seemed to hesitate for a second before deciding it wasn't worth it and collectively agreed to leave, scampering away.
Sanemi turned back to Giyuu, a smirk growing on his face. "Got people falling on themselves for you now, hm?" he teased.
Giyuu sighed. "Will I have to find someone else to shoo you away?" he asked.
"I was joking- The hell did they even want from you, though?" Sanemi said, crossing his arms.
"I don't know," Giyuu murmured.
"Right." An awkward silence spread between the two and they stared at the ground, unsure what to say.
"Uh. Now that you're free, guess I'll be taking my leave-" Sanemi said, appearing to want to dash away. His cheeks were dabbed in a dusty pink as he stepped back.
"Wait- Shinazugawa, I wanted to ask you something," Giyuu said, grabbing Sanemi's wrist as he remembered why he had been outside in the first place.
"Which is?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Giyuu paused, glancing down at his hand which was still clasped around the scarred wrist of the other Hashira. Sanemi's pulse was fast. Why?
"Uhm. A few days ago... when you told me to sleep," Giyuu started quietly, unsure how to go about it. Then, deciding that there was no use stalling, he blurted out, "Why did you kiss me?"
Sanemi stared at him, in shock apparently, then let out what sounded like a muted scream, burying his face in the hand Giyuu wasn't holding. "God, you were awake...?" he mumbled, sounding as if he was regretting everything. Which he probably was doing.
"I... woke up when you did that," Giyuu murmured.
"...Of course you did," Sanemi said.
Giyuu cocked his head to the side. "Can I ask you something, Shinazugawa?"
"What now...?" he said with a sigh, running his hand through his hair—or, more, tearing at his hair.
"Why is your heartbeat so fast?" Giyuu asked.
Sanemi looked up, glaring at him. "Stop asking questions I'd rather tear my chest out than answer," he grumbled.
Giyuu raised an eyebrow. "What-?"
"Nevermind."
"Okay..." Giyuu let go of his wrist. "Will you answer the questions?"
Sanemi hesitated. "What happens if I don't?"
"I'll... ask Genya for help?..." Giyuu said slowly, knowing it would irritate Sanemi—and hopefully convince him to speak.
Sanemi's eyes narrowed. "Fuck, fine." He let out an exaggerated sigh, then without warning reached up and clasped his hands on either side of Giyuu's face, pulling him closer.
Giyuu's eyes widened and he felt himself flush at the proximity, his stomach deciding to do some acrobatic trick of Mitsuri's, followed by what appeared to be a bunch of Shinobu's fluttering around.
"Shinazugawa...?" he mumbled, his voice muted from his own shock.
×××
Do it. DO IT.
Sanemi let out a breath, his eyes searching Giyuu's. He found no sign of resistance, only question and surprise.
"Listen. If you hate this, just push me away. I won't resist," Sanemi advised, his tone as serious as he could force it to be with his heart flying circles in his ribcage, as if trying to break free.
"Do wh-"
Before Giyuu could finish, Sanemi fit his mouth against the Water user's, one hand tangling in the dark locks of Giyuu's hair, the other slipping down to his waist. He paused when he got no response, and started to move away, but then arms wrapped around his body, pulling him closer and back into the kiss.
They stumbled through the embrace, their legs tangling with one anothers. He didn't know who finally pulled away, but when they did, the two stood there, Giyuu resting his head on Sanemi's shoulder, their breaths harsh and quick—not solely from the kiss.
Then, as if just realizing what they'd done, they scrambled away from each other, looking like embarrassed puppies.
Giyuu was the first to speak, his voice meek—not that Sanemi could blame him. "Do you... like me?" he mumbled.
Sanemi frowned. "I thought I told you to stop asking me questions like that."
"Like what?"
"Questions that I'd commit seppuku before answering," he said, crossing his arms.
"...Sorry," Giyuu said, pouting.
"You better be. Also, the answer should be fucking obvious. If it's not, then you're stupid." Sanemi rolled his eyes, stalking towards him and grabbing Giyuu's arm. "We're going somewhere private now. C'mon."
Giyuu nodded quickly, following him. "I'm not stupid," he muttered, more to himself
"Hm?"
"Nothing."
×××
Since then, Giyuu and Sanemi avoided each other. Mostly from embarrassment and neither wanting to bring up the topic again. After they had left the public eye, they had made out for a bit, being too shy—which was definitely not a word that would usually describe either of them—to talk about anything. It had been exactly a week, two days, four hours, and thirty one minutes since they had parted ways—yes, Giyuu had been counting.
But—finally—they had decided to meet again, talk about it more formally. Rather, Sanemi had invited Giyuu to lunch and Giyuu had agreed. He stood, waiting, in front of a restaurant. Apparently Sanemi had reserved a table but had forgotten to tell Giyuu, so now he was awkwardly hovering in front of the restaurant wishing Sanemi would hurry the fuck up.
After a few agonizing minutes of waiting, Sanemi appeared at last, looking out of breath. His hair looked oddly neat and well kept—unlike usual—and he had a smell of flowers wafting around him.
"Hey," he said, nodding to Giyuu. "Sorry for keeping you waiting. Iguro wanted me to help him with something then Kanroji came by, carrying like fifty bottles of perfume and wanted to test them out on me..." He sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
A smile crept up Giyuu's lips. "So that's why you smell as what I'd imagine a bee would during the summer?"
"Shut the fuck up," Sanemi said, opening the restaurant door and tugging Giyuu inside.
After they had found their table and ordered some food and settled down, Sanemi rested his arms on the table, clasping his hands together and turned to Giyuu. "So!" he said, as if trying to say something he most definitely did not want to say.
"Hm?"
"...I hate how little you talk," Sanemi grumbled. "You only ever talk to ask the most embarrassing shit ever."
"...sorry??"
Sanemi laughed, sounding uncharacteristically nervous. "Yeah, no, nevermind. Let's just wait for the food."
Giyuu nodded, his heart beating faster than a humming bird's wings.
They waited in silence, conspicuously avoiding each others eyes.
When the food finally arrived, they took the opportunity to busy themselves with eating, pretending like they both had things they wanted to discuss but couldn't bring it up. Halfway through the meal, Giyuu gave up and said, abruptly, "Are we dating?"
Sanemi all but choked on his food, grasping for a cup of water. Giyuu hurried to help him, panicking.
After he had calmed down, Sanemi said, "I'm convinced you're trying to kill me, Tomioka."
Giyuu apologized again. "I didn't mean for that to happen..."
"I know. I was joking. Seriously, you really are stupid," Sanemi deadpanned.
"I'm not!" Giyuu whined.
"See, that was also a joke. Okay, maybe it wasn't. Also you sound like a child. But, uhm, back to the topic," Sanemi said, his tone switching completely.
They lapsed back into silence, staring at each other awkwardly.
"...are we, then...?" Giyuu mumbled, unsure what to make of the atmosphere.
"Uhm." Sanemi coughed, trying to think of a response. "Do you want to?"
Giyuu frowned. "Yes... Do you?"
Sanemi pushed a bowl of salmon daikon towards Giyuu, folding his hands on the table. "Then we're dating."
"What? But you never said if you-"
"I literally did, just not directly. But if you need me to spell it out to you then, yes. I do. And since you do too, apparently, then we're dating," Sanemi told him.
"...okay!" Giyuu said happily, taking the bowl with a small smile.
"Mm. How is your smile so small yet it lights up your whole face..." Sanemi said, resting his elbow on the table and head in his hand, laughing gently.
"I'm smiling? Sorry," Giyuu said, his lips quickly curving to its usual neutral state.
"Why sorry? Your smile isn't terrifying," Sanemi said, frowning.
"Kocho said it's weird," Giyuu mumbled.
"Well fuck her, then! It's not weird, it's... cute."
He flushed. "It's not cute!"
"Says you." A playful smirk rising upon Sanemi's face. "Anyways, hurry up and eat. I don't feel like waiting forever."
"Aren't you going to eat?-" Giyuu asked, looking up from his bowl.
"I finished."
"...oh."
××× (it's js sillyness from here on out)
Sanemi and Giyuu had come to a mutual agreement to not tell anyone of their relationship, or mostly keep it private. Both for the reasons of disliking gossip. From Tengen and Shinobu in specific. They were 99% sure that, if by any way, their relationship would become public knowledge, Tengen and Shinobu would have fun making up theories and teasing them day and night.
So, despite everyone somehow knowing that Sanemi liked Giyuu, the only people that knew of their relationship becoming real were Obanai and... Obanai. Just him.
Sanemi had said that they could tell their closest friends—as long as they swore not to say anything. Giyuu said, quite exactly, "I don't have friends."
Which... lead to Sanemi having to comfort him.
But all was said and all was done and the two found ways to meet in private between missions and training, managing to keep their relationship a secret for a surprisingly long amount of time. Of course, nothing ever lasts, and the Hashira eventually caught on.
Sanemi was a lot better at hiding it, just snapping at Giyuu all the time like usual—which he assured Giyuu that whatever he said wasn't what he truly meant, until they were alone. But Giyuu, on the other hand... Well, Sanemi assumed that he'd be alright at acting given that his face was always so irritatingly impassive. He'd assumed wrong, however, and eventually found that out.
In his attempt to fulfill Sanemi's wishes to not get the word spread out—and Giyuu was dreading the time when Shinobu would find out—Giyuu kept up the act for a good couple weeks. But, since Sanemi would act a lot more affectionate with him, he was less and less used to the previously usual aggression shown to him by his boyfriend (in public) as the days past.
Needless to say, Giyuu was the reason they were exposed. Which unfortunately happened in front of the whole Hashira—right before one of their biannual meetings with Kagaya.
×××
Giyuu had entered the garden a few minutes after Sanemi, on the opposite side, not wanting to cause suspicion. He stood by a tree quietly as the other Hashira trickled in.
Mitsuri bounded up to him, talking about something he wasn't necessarily listening to, his gaze set on Sanemi who was trying to obscure Obanai's eyes from seeing that Mitsuri was talking to another man.
Supposedly noticing the gaze, Sanemi looked up and glared at Giyuu, raising an eyebrow as if to tell him to snap out of it.
Shinobu noticed this.
"Ara ara, are you two fighting again? I'm surprised you haven't shouted at him yet, Shinazugawa," Shinobu commented, a sly smile forming upon her lips.
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "Shut the fuck up, Kocho."
"No need to be so harsh," Shinobu tutted, crossing her arms and shaking her head disapprovingly.
Gyomei agreed. "And please refrain from swearing."
Mitsuri had stopped talking, looking from one Hashira to the other.
Tengen laughed. "Well, there's been a lot less tension between Tomioka and the dog," he remarked, grinning at Sanemi.
"WHAT DOG?!?!" Sanemi shouted, stalking over to Tengen.
Obanai rolled his eyes. "Stop shouting."
Giyuu stood watching everything and wondering if he should speak given that he seemed to be apart of this argument. "What dog?"
Sanemi pointed at Giyuu, though he faced Tengen. "SEE?? THERE IS NO FUCKING DOG."
Gyomei frowned. "Do not shout, you will disturb the Master."
Sanemi let out a breath. "Fine."
Giyuu walked over to where Sanemi and Tengen stood. "Is Shinazugawa the dog?" he asked quietly.
Sanemi let out a gritted scream, looking ready to explode. Tengen looked equally like a timed bomb at its last second, although for completely different reasons.
"I'MNOTADOG!!!" Sanemi screeched, grabbing Giyuu by the shoulders and shaking him.
Giyuu ducked down, stepping away from Sanemi. "Okay."
Gyomei let out the longest sigh in history as Shinobu supressed a laugh.
"My, my, you're talking a lot today, Tomioka-San!" she said, looking up at him.
"Oh."
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "Well he should stop talking, he sounds like Uzui when his wives get a paper scratch," he said, crossing his arms.
"Is that supposed to be an insult?!" Tengen gasped, looking mildly offended.
"You're the one panicking when they so much as cough!!! You're all 'OH NO ARE YOU OKAY?! Nooo, KOCHO HELP ME!! DON'T DIE ON ME, PLEASE DON'T DIE ON ME—'" Sanemi said, pitching his voice higher.
Giyuu frowned. "I don't sound like that," he and Tengen said in unison—although Tengen with a considerably larger amount of theatrical flair.
"Oh yes you do! And I mean both of you!" Sanemi said, placing his hands on his hips.
Gyomei shook his head and went to go stand next to Muichiro who was staring at a beetle in his hand.
"...I do?" Giyuu whined.
Tengen seemed to have gotten over it quite quickly and was completely unfazed now.
"And worse!" Sanemi said, a mocking smile curving his lips.
Giyuu bit his lip, looking down.
Obanai sighed.
"The fuck are you looking at??" Sanemi asked, raising an eyebrow at Giyuu who wouldn't meet his eyes.
Tengen's mouth curved into an 'o' and he backed away quickly, whispering loudly to Kyojuro, "Shinazugawa just made Tomioka cry-"
"He cries??" Kyojuro whispered back, seeming to think they were actually being quiet.
Tengen shrugged and leaned against a tree, watching.
"...Why are you crying-" Sanemi said, fighting the concern that rose in himself. "You a baby???"
Giyuu looked up at him, pouting, unwilling to respond.
"Ara ara, looks like you shouldn't have said that about his voice! I would be offended as well if you compared my voice to Uzui's," Shinobu said, shooting a mischevious look at Tengen who appeared wounded.
Sanemi frowned. "It wasn't even that bad of an insult," he scoffed, trying with all his might to make Giyuu act fine without saying anything.
Giyuu sniffed loudly, ignoring Sanemi. He promptly turned away, stomping to the back of the garden and crossing his arms, acting as if he was waiting for Kagaya.
"Oooohhh-" Tengen said, a tone of amusement entering his voice. "I didn't know Tomioka could be so petty."
Shinobu raised an eyebrow. "Neither that he could be so affected by what Shinazugawa said."
Sanemi, fed up, sighed and stalked towards Giyuu, pulling him into a hug. "Giyuu, I didn't mean shit, I like your voice, okay??" he murmured, placing a kiss on Giyuu's nose. "Don't ignore me."
Giyuu seemed to brighten up instantly—which made Sanemi irritated because it had probably been an act then—and nodded. "Okay!"
"...ARE YOU TWO FINALLY DATING-" Kyojuro said, much too loudly.
"I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO!!!" Shinobu shouted triumphantly.
Obanai shook his head with a sigh. "Well it was going to get out sooner or later."
Sanemi shot a glare at them. "Oh, fuck off."
Giyuu rested his head on Sanemi's shoulder, a small smile playing on his face.
×××
"I thought we agreed to keep it a secret..." Sanemi whined, as he and Giyuu were on their way back home.
"I'm sorrryyy," Giyuu said, pouting.
"Mmmhmm, well, I'm not giving you cuddles for three weeks now!" Sanemi told him, quickening his pace.
"WHAT?? NO-" Giyuu shouted, chasing after him.
Sanemi laughed, turning and abruptly stopping Giyuu, placing a kiss on his cheek. "I told you to work on differentiating a joke from a serious comment, Giyuu."
"...Well I'm trying!" Giyuu insisted, huffing. "...you're not going to take away my cuddles, are you?"
"No. That would be taking away my own, anyways. But! I'm still not letting you off. Which means I'm not making you salmon daikon for the rest of the week," Sanemi said, dragging Giyuu down the road.
"Awh..." Giyuu whined, trotting after Sanemi.
"Be glad it's Friday."
××× (this last part is completely random and has nothing to do with anything but I js wanted to write this)
Sanemi pushed Giyuu down, pinning him to the floor. He fit his lips to Giyuu's, closing his eyes. Legs wrapped around his waist as Giyuu clung onto him and Sanemi tangled his hand in the tangled mess of his boyfriend's hair, pulling him deeper into the kiss.
"Sa...nemi," Giyuu breathed between kisses, his face dusted in pink.
Sanemi pulled back, letting him breathe. "Yes?" he murmured, resting his lips upon Giyuu's forehead in a gentle kiss.
"I love you," Giyuu said quietly, his arms tightening their embrace around Sanemi's torso.
Sanemi smiled. "I love you most," he said, pulling Giyuu back into a kiss.
"Tha's... not fair...!" Giyuu whined, trying to avoid the kisses.
"Mhmm, I'm not fair at all then?" Sanemi said, peppering Giyuu's jaw with kisses.
"Nooo..."
Sanemi laughed. "Do you not love me, then?"
"I love you!" Giyuu insisted, turning back and catching a kiss on his bottom lip.
"Love you too, darling."

just one little pat!

"their reaction to you touching their ears and tail"
|| headcanon, fluff, crack
Tumblr media
|| leona kingscholar
despises every bit of it
has or had threated to disintegrate any and all who dare to step a foot, even a mere inch, near him
don't even waste your efforts to concoct a 'master plan' in order to catch him off guard; been there, done that; unless you're his little nephew, the rate of your success is fairly low
strong reflexes, would pin you down in a heartbeat
tackled from behind? his tail has just enough strength to swat a regular sized human across a hallway; hurts like hell too, never pleasant
the process, tough maybe even traumatising to some, but the reward right after is one worth the struggle:
"..i can't believe this.." who ever planned this as a sick joke was as good as dead, but he already knows who's behind it all. the laughing of a howling hyena causing a deeper shade of rosy red to dust his cheeks, growing goosebumps on his tanned skin not apparent but fairly visible on closer inspection.
"poor mr kingscholar, whatever will he do to escape this predicament~" soft rumbles of purring increasing with each pat of his silky mane; tail swaying involuntary, thumping against the wooden flooring, mind wishing to be set free from this hellish torture yet body craving more of your warm touch.
"i'll have your head for this-" ruggie smirked, effortlessly brushing off eyes of green, laced with poison, glaring daggers at him. his body trembling from laughter yet still to prevent the measly lion from leaving his spot on the ground. you, of course, barely paid much mind to what displayed upon you, fingers ever so carefully caressing leona's fluff from head to toe. your squeals of excitement growing louder, grip on the housewarden's waist growing tighter.

embarrassing; more so humiliating
isn't very guarded but would be on high alert after the many many times you 'just-so-happened' to have your hand brush against his head
very flinch-y; would even pout a little if you continue to caresses him after his warnings
had used his signature spell against you; had you running around the campus like a mad-lad till your knees turned numb
wish for a certified way to get your daily in-take of serotonin? bribery. what did you expect?
though his prices don't come cheap; better be prepare to have your wallet empty tonight
"erm.. 50 thaumarks..?" the hyena yawned, gloved hands fanning near the entrance of his mouth, tail swaying downwards feeling boredoms sinking its teeth into his bitter soul. 50? you had to be joking- why would he serve himself up to you for a measly 50 thaumark? you were already considered the 'lucky ones'; had it been anyone else, he would have marked up a fortune.
"i've already cut down your cost for the last time- 350 or nothing~" the frustration swirling within your eyes, the way you chewed at your bottom lip; it amused him. he could never understand why would be so desperate for a touch of his mane- absolutely ridiculous.
"ughhh- fine! j-just take it.. here- you happy now-" though he wouldn't say he didn't admired your determination.
"very!" ruggie grinned, fingers already dancing across the edges of light brown-ish paper, greed filling his pupils yet quickly dispersing when arms tackled him to the ground. his face planted against your chest with your hands already scratching at his scalp, upper limbs enwrapped trapped along with his body, leg entangled within yours. he wanted to yell, yell for you to let go- yet he forgot, he had already sold himself to you for the next hour~

|| jack howl
he doesn't mind it actually
well, that was a bit of an understatement-
he doesn't mind, as long as you both are alone; likely staying within the privacies of each other's rooms; he still has his pride to keep after all
gets extremely red -and maybe has a piece of him die on the inside- if you touched him openly
has a very reactive wolf form; and is why he never transforms near you; 'cause once he's caught- either of you would be willing to let go-
loves a scratch behind the ears and tummy rubsss; no touching the tail though- makes bby very uncomfortable
he wasn't known for having much in that empty head of his; just sports; yet he's not one to give up something without a proper fight even if it's just a couple pieces of paper with words sprouted across them. knowing he couldn't fight this battle alone, he searched you out; despite not having knowledge of any magic had excellent grades in every class, in his eyes at least.
you both got to work; having study session everyday till exams week. alongside much of what was taught within textbooks, he observed your love for patting his ears- he found it strange at first; your hands entangled within his mane, praising him with a 'good boy' with each right answer but he started enjoying it slightly. maybe it inflates his ego or he likes the way your palm feels against him.
but he does know- he doesn't want anyone knowing about his little secret..
your hand grazing the back of his left ear as you cooed ever so sweetly; the paper rolled within your hand in a red circle, '68'. he knew it was a high improvement from his mid-years but you didn't have to reward him here- out in the open as well- the snickers of the two heartslabyul students was enough to get him all flushed.. he doubts he'll hear the end of this till the day he dies-

Hello!!! Welcome!!!! This is my ask blog! Here's how this'll work.
Speaking
Infected will talk in pink and more often than not, uses a typing quirk.
Unpleasant, when he does speak, will talk in green. He does not have a typing quirk, however, does have verrrryyyy slowww... and.. periodic speachhh...
Tumblr media
Headcanons!
Infected will go by he/him, occasionally it/they, depending on how I/he feels.
Unpleasant will primarily use he/it, however, you may refer to him as whatever you want. Just know that those are the ones we use and that's really it.
Unpleasant rarely speaks, unless Infected is around. He is selectively mute. He lies, and says he's mewing to make himself look cool, but he's actually very socially anxious and is prone to going nonverbal.
Unpleasant likes Infected a lot, but Infected does not like Unpleasant. It is very one sided.
Infected is rarely seen outside his apartment in this au, mostly because he is unable to last for very long outside of it.
Infected is 5'10, Unpleasant is 7 ft.
Anything else you're curious about, you'll just have to ask. That's the whole point of this blog!
Tumblr media
AU Lore
This AU will have somethings in it that are different from the canon Regretevator game. I am aware. Please do not inform me of such.
Kasper, before the virus, was really a normal guy. However, when he accidentally clicked on a suspicious link sent to him in a roblox game, it all went to shit. His computer immediately shorted, and this weird untextured pink pattern spread across the entire thing. Not knowing what to do, Kasper whacked his computer in an attempt to get it to stop. However, that only made it worse. The computer exploded, at least, he think it did, and it knocked him out.
Next thing he knew, he was awake. But not in his normal apartment. Instead, it was a replica of his apartment, and it seemed to be made in Roblox? Strange. The infection to him hadn't started yet, but boy was he in for a trip.
Once the infection hit, Kasper's memories began to fade. His once human body became code, zeroes and ones, glitches and bugs. He was reprogrammed, essentially. Now, he was Infected, and he had absolutely no memory of who this "Kasper" was.
This is where out favourite sigma male comes in. Unpleasant was never a real being outside of the computer. It was made when Kasper was sent inside his computer. But, it took a while for its code to fully develop and download. Once Infected got more comfortable in his new home, so did Unpleasant.
Unpleasant began showing up periodically at first. Infected occasionally caught glimpses of him scurrying away, back into hiding, and no matter how many times he tried to talk to the gradient, it always ran away. That was, until, Infected got a cat.
See, Unpleasant liked Infected, in a way, despite being too anxious to show his face. And he liked the attention it got when Infected tried to chase after it. However, when the cat came into question, Unpleasant got jealous. He didn't like that the cat was stealing up all of Infected's attention. So! He decided to eat the cat. Yep. Just swallowed it whole. Infected never found out, but Unpleasant began to hang around more, making sure that Infected paid attention to him more.
However, this is when Infected realized just how obnoxious this gradient really was, and it wasn't long before he got tired of it. Unpleasant, however, wouldn't budge no matter how much Infected tried to push him away.
Extra Lore Bits:
Infected is able to leave his computer now, since he's learned how, but he is by far more glitchy and buggy outside of his programming. He can't be out for long.
Infected is able to travel between devices in order to travel. This is often how he's able to keep in touch and socialize, without needing to be outside of his environment.
Unpleasant is invisible to everyone except for Infected. He is able to leave the computer as well, as long as Infected leaves as well.
Unpleasant cannot exist where Infected is not. When Infected leaves the computer, Unpleasant often times has to come with. When he doesn't, he'll simply freeze in time until the computer is booted up again. It doesn't like this, so it opts to follow Infected along, instead.
Infected has zero memory of his life before the virus. He tries to be friendly with the people who say knew him, but he can't remember, no matter how hard he tries.
Infected is no longer human. He is entirely binary. However, he still has a physical form that is able to be seen, it just may seem static-y to the touch.

My Hunger Games Headcanons(pt 1):
The Capitol sex trafficked more people than just the Victors. The way Finnick's story is described gives off the impression that the victors are just the most popular/expensive/exclusive sex slaves, but there are more. Since District 1 tributes are almost always described as beautiful, and District 1 is the Luxury District, it's not farfetched to assume a lot of District 1 citizens' jobs includes sex trafficking if they're beautiful enough. THEY are the luxury as well. This would also explain why despite being one of the wealthiest, most propagandized districts, District 1 is one of the first to rebel.
Continuing from the second point, I headcanon that a lot of avoxes are also put into sex trafficking or are district citizens who refused to participate and were punished.
Lavina and the boy she was running away with were a couple. Based on the fact that the boy was immediately killed but she was captured, I think Lavina was a higher ranked citizen compared to the boy. Their relationship might have been what sparked their own personal rebellion.
Effie wasn't tortured physically but mentally through making her watch the torture and killings. Effie develops parent-like feelings towards Peeta and Katniss. When they're abt to go train for the Quell, she has the energy of an anxious mother dropping her kid off for their first day of school. Based on how Snow weaponizes love, I think his method of torturing Effie was forcing her to watch Peeta be maimed. For Effie it'd be like watching her son get tortured.
If Gale and Katniss went in, Gale would have likely killed Katniss. He loves Katniss yes, but he has a high sense of self preservation. I think he would also rationalize it to himself, Gale's family is larger than Katniss's. It's a choice between two civillians getting to live in the victor's villahe versus 4. He would still take care of Prim and Mrs. Everdeen. I actually think Katniss would want him to do it too. With Peeta, she preferred being dead over living with the loss of Peeta, even if it meant leaving behind her sister & mother(though she knows Peeta and other district 12 citizens would take care of them). Katniss fears emotional agony more than she fears death.
If Gale and Katniss were in the games, Gale wouldn't have pulled the love angle. Peeta has an intuitive understanding of social engineering AND he's willing to sacrifice the most intimate parts of his life to win the games. Gale would see it as the Capitol taking one more thing away from him. I do see him confessing his feelings for Katniss during the games. So there would still be a love angle but it would be accidental/not for the capitol. Katniss wouldn't have played into it unless Haymitch communicated it to her. Even then, I think it'd be hard for her to pull it off with Gale. Sure she finds him attractive, but with Peeta...she paid a lot of attention to him from the start. She was crushing on him before the games even started.
Another Gale/Katniss tribute headcanon: Katniss would have tried to take Rue as an ally but Gale would refuse. He's more pragmatic than Katniss. This would cause a rift between them. If Rue dies later, especially at the hands of another tribute, Katniss would probably feel like it's their fault for not protecting her. It wouldn't be a big enough rift to make them split up, but she'd be very distraught.
Katniss's feelings for Peeta started on the chariot. Katniss describes feeling an "unexpected warmth" [ch5] when all Peeta did was smile at her. She's so cute aw.
Following the last bullet point, I think Katniss and Peeta would have still ended up together if they were never in the Games at all. Katniss is very easily charmed by Peeta. All he'd have to do is get the confidence to talk to her.
The Capitol banned contraceptives for the Districts. Though I'm sure Mrs. Everdeen would have an herbal remedy for that sorta thing 👀
Mrs. Everdeen's family was wealthier than most other families. Mrs. Everdeen has a collection of fine dresses and has more upper class sensibilities compared to Peeta, who comes off as middle class. She really loved Mr. Everdeen to give that up for him 😭❤️
Wealth is inherited paternally. This is why instead of Mr. Everdeen living as a wealthy merchant with Mrs. Everdeen, they end up in the seam because he's a seam miner. This could either be the law or a cultural expectation for women to move into whatever the man has.
Mrs. Mellark abused Mr. Mellark. This is based on his personality, he's much more quiet and seems a little passive. But there's also the fact that Katniss has to make sure his wife isn't around when she trades squirrels. I dont think this is to protect Katniss from her, besides those awful things she said to Katniss, she respects her so much she has more faith in Katniss than in Peeta. She's also classist. So my headcanon is that the reason he has to be secretive with the squirrels is because Mrs. Mellark would find it uncouth or even disgusting. She would also see it as a waste of bread. It wouldn't be farfetched to assume she'd beat his ass for that sorta thing. Lowkey doubt she even knows what he traded for the squirrels
Mr. Mellark's trades are lucrative because he's fond of katniss and had feelings for her mother. Bread is so expensive most of the seam can't afford it and even the Mellarks themselves can't afford their own loaf of bread...yet he's willing to trade one of his precious loaves for a squirrel or two. Squirrels are tiny & lean. The entire family eats them too. Katniss wouldn't be bringing 4-5 for every trade, especially not during winter. There's probably days where she can only get a couple.
Most of the Hob sellers are descendents from the Covey. I just really like this headcanon lmao.
Just a reminder these are just my own headcanons I pulled outta my ass lol

Chapter 2 of Loving You Is A Losing Game
Danny had, very reluctantly, joined his parents in their once-in-a-blue-moon family dinners. He had only done this because he had needed to figure out exactly how his parents had captured that shade. He would have preferred eating Nasty Burger takeout in his room, or going to Elmerton and eating at one of their breakfast-for-dinner places, or accepting one of the many, many dinner invitations Johnny and Kitty kept sending him now that they had finally agreed to keep property damage to a minimum whenever they entered Amity Park.
Duty calls , he thought to himself sourly.
“So, mom, dad,” he asked, “did you do anything interesting in the lab today?”
Jack Fenton immediately replied, “We created a device that can find ghosts and used it to capture one! It was invisible, of course - probably trying to evade capture. But never fear, Danny, because we caught it! It’s successfully contained in the Fenton Ghost Containment Device, and your mother and I are going to study it before ripping it molecule by molecule!”
Danny ignored the sinking feeling in his chest. “Right. Any chance I could take a look at your tracking device after dinner? I wanna learn how you guys make such cool things.”
It wasn’t even a lie.
“Of course, honey,” Madeleine Fenton said. “You’ll have to make do with the blueprints, however, as we need the device so we know where the ghost is. Unless it realizes there’s no point in hiding from us.”
You’ll be waiting a long time in that case, seeing as I sent it to the zone , Danny thought to himself.
Danny woke up to a blue mist rising above him, and mentally groaned. Why couldn’t he have just one night of peaceful sleep? That was all he was asking for, but noooo. He was exempt from pretty much anything even remotely normal.
He slipped out of bed and turned himself intangible, falling through the floor and into the basement, where the ghost was (hopefully) located, and found himself staring down a ghost vulture.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Danny groaned. “Why are you out, Nutty?”
The vulture’s name wasn’t actually Nutty, but Danny thought it was funny, and despite the fact that the vulture had protested the name before, he got the sense that they liked it.
“I got a new job, kid. Pays well, too. All I gotta do is find and kill this one guy. Apparently he got on a lotta people’s nerves.”
Hopefully it’s not Dad, he thought. Out loud he asked, “Yeah? Who is this mystery person?”
“Some kid called Wes Weston,” Nutty croaked.
Danny froze for a full five seconds. Then he moved. He slammed Nutty into the wall so hard the vulture left a crater.
“Who paid you to kill Wes?” He snarled. "̶̠̅̓Ẁ̸̢͔̻̘̍̃̈́̀͘h̵̡̘̥̠͇̒õ̵͙̰̬̦̻̹̂͗̌̈̐̏͑̊̓͝?̷̢̟̰̮̗̲͘"̵̝̂̿̽̓̒̑͐͑̓̆̊̄̚
“I don’t know!" Nuty squawked. Danny pressed them further into the wall, and Nutty seemed to panic. "No, really, I don't know! It was some person in a hood! I never saw their face!"
"You sure it wasn't Plasmius?" Danny asked. If Vlad had decided to go after Wes, for whatever reason, Danny wouldn't hold back. Not this time, not anymore. Not when the life of his only remaining friend was on the line.
Wes couldn't die.
"I'm sure!" Nutty croaked. "Now can you please let me go?"
“Not until you promise not to hurt Wes,” Danny growled. “Promise me that, and I’ll let you go.”
“I promise!” Nutty all but shrieked, and true to word, Danny released him.
Nutty squawked once, flapping his wings in indignance. “Forget this, I’m going back to the Ruins. Much less of a chance of getting your body slammed into a wall there.” He shot a look at Danny.
Danny sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. “Sorry about that, Nutty. I just - I couldn’t let you hurt him.”
Nutty snorted, then took off through the open portal. Danny watched him go before returning to his room. He sank back into bed hoping to finally get some sleep -
His phone rang.
Aggravated, Danny threw back the covers, snatched up his phone, and said, “What?”
“You left the portal open,” came Wes’s dry reply.
Danny stiffened, before falling through the floor and into the basement - again - and yes, he had indeed left the portal open. Danny groaned.
“Just one night,” he said into the phone, “all I want is one night I can sleep through without having to worry about ghosts.”
When Wes spoke again, he sounded tired. “I know. I don’t like it either.”
“Well, guess it’s time to die,” Danny chuckled. He took a deep breath. “I’m going -”
“Wait!” Wes exclaimed.
Danny paused. “What’s wrong?”
“The portal’s open. You could leave.”
All of a sudden, Danny was extremely aware of the glowing green tunnel in the wall (the tunnel he had died in). He swallowed.
“I don’t think I can, Wes,” he whispered, hating the words even as he spoke them, hating the weakness they revealed.
Wes was silent on the other end of the phone.
“Do you want me to be there when you do it?” he asked.
Danny released a shaky breath. “I think that would be worse, actually.”
“Danny. I know you don’t want to, but you need to leave. Amity Park isn’t safe for you anymore. Your parents have contracts with the GIW. Vlad is kidnapping you pretty much every week. Valerie hates you. Sam and Tucker don’t even care that you exist at this point.”
“I can’t leave you,” Danny whispered. His hands were shaking. “You heard what Nutty said. Someone wants to kill you, Wes. They could -”
“I can protect myself.” Wes cut him off. “And whoever wants to kill me hired Nutty from the Zone. If you want to find out who’s after me,
you’d have to go to the Zone regardless. Why not go there permanently?”
“Because you and Jazz are both here!” Danny shouted. “I can’t abandon you! If the GIW realize that you’re liminal, they’ll kill you both!”
“You wouldn’t be abandoning us, Danny,” Wes soothed. “The GIW are only after you and the other ghosts. They don’t even know that liminals exist. After you leave, if the ghosts attack again, Val, your parents or the GIW will scare them enough to send them back to the Zone for good. And when the ghost attacks stop and Amity Park settles down a bit, I’ll see what I can do to come visit. I have the blueprints for the portal. I’m sure I could convince Kyle to help me build it.”
With every word Wes spoke, Danny relaxed a bit more. Wes was right. Everything would be fine.
He’s lying to you, he’s going to turn on you and leave you just like everyone else as soon as he realises how worthless and insignificant you are
“Okay.” Danny said. “I’ll do it.” And with a click, he hung up. Bracing himself, and turned to look at the self-destruct button. He jumped forward and pressed the button, leaping back almost immediately.
The basement lit up in red. A siren wailed. A pleasant, robotic voice said, “Self-destruct mode activated. You have 60 seconds. Also, the ham is spoiled.”
Danny flew up, grabbed his parents, and flew out of the house. He left them on the front door of their neighbours, then flew back in. He hesitated in his room, before grabbing his model rockets and returning
to the basement. With a deep breath, he flew into the green, green, green portal, all the way to the other side. He flew till he was surrounded by the green, till he could feel the ectoplasm in the air, till he could see the Ruins surrounding him.
The Ruins are gonna get ruined , he thought, and chuckled.
Behind him, there was an explosion.

I used to think that Szobo’s father is so mean and violent (we don’t even know if he actually abused him.. I mean physically abused him)
Psychological pressure that is applied by your parents isn’t really abusive. They just want the best for you, unless if they physically harmed you. Please don’t get me wrong, what I actually mean is that most of our parents are harsh on us because they want us to be and to do the best. That’s why they keep telling us it’s not enough and the other children who are the same age as us are way more better than us.
Here is a link of Szobo thanking his father warmly
https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSNvRvKhW/
Considering how he always thank his father warmly I don’t think that his father was so harsh on him or their relationship were really bad, we never know what’s behind the closed doors 🫤
Hi anon!
Thank you for sending me this, your opinion on this I feel like adds a completely new viewpoint to this topic.
I want to say firstly, that there are things that we do know about his childhood and his relationship with his dad, things that can be treated as 100% true facts, because they were either said by Dominik himself, or his father. There are also quite a lot of assumptions, many based on what they said, some just straight up making stuff up for shock value.
His father physically abusing was never once even a possibility, I just want to say this very loudly, because that is a very serious thing and there is absolutely no indication that his father physically abused him. Even that story, which was hot news a couple of months ago, how his dad forced him to wear way too small boots to stop his foot from growing had been confirmed by his dad to be a lie.
I'm not sure if I agree with you on the part where you say psychological pressure is not abuse. There are levels to it, and certain levels to it can be abusive. I'm no psychologist, but what Dominik shared about his father, I would, personally, categorise that emotional abuse.
If you are a child, 10-12 years old and you feel that you hate your father, because how differently he treats you, how harsh he is on you, how much he makes you (over)work, that's not normal.
Sure, he has a good relationship with his father now, but It's most likely because everything worked out. What are the chances of everything working out? Very slim. What if Dominik wouldn't have signed for Liverpool? What if he got an injury that would have made him highly unlikely that he will ever get to a higher level than playing in the Austrian League? What if he wouldn't even made through the Austrian academy he was sent to at age 15? Then, he's left with his whole childhood not only robbed, but ruined as well.
I think there is a fine line between being strict with your child, pushing his limits, because you, as a professional yourself, see that he is destined for greatness or being downright cruel to him sometimes. There was an interview where his dad said that when Dominik moved to a whole other country (!), by himself (!), at the age of 15 (!), where he hardly spoke the language (!), he would call him crying about being homesick. Then, the father would just push the little red button on the phone call. And this is something that he himself admitted. That's just not normal in my opinion.
Now, this is where assumptions come into place, and this is mine. I think it's very much a red flag that his father doesn't even seem to think that there is something wrong with admitting things like this. Why? Because it paid off. Because he thinks this was his doing, his harsh raising and lack of affection that made Dominik into the man he is today. This sentiment is clearly shared by Dominik himself and how can you blame him? He never knew anything else. I think the fact that he, admittedly, realised that his father could be toxic and built up certain boundaries with him is already a huge achievement. I'm not even saying that Dominik should suddenly wake up tomorrow and be angry at his father for making him hate him when he was 12 years old. To be honest, I'm not even sure how one should navigate through such a complex relationship.

Alright...there goes the request.
Request: Yandere Sirin with Cold, Distant Reader who's somehow aware about it and what would Sirin do to capture Reader's heart...
Hope this request suit you, thanks for reading.
Thank you for the request! This is a very interesting scenario and I had fun thinking of how it'll play out.
Summary: You know that your friend's sister has an unhealthy obsession towards you the signs are all there! If only you had followed your instincts, then maybe you wouldn't be in the situation you're in now...
Warning: Yandere content, picture taking without consent, stalking, cameras, kidnapping, Sirin has a breakdown, Bella becomes a therapist, Bella isn't getting paid enough to deal with Sirin, unhealthy obsession, bad writing and a few more that I probably forgot. (If any of those make you feel uncomfortable, please leave.)
The reader is gender neutral in this one, the reader is friends with Durandal, mentions the reader working as a valkyrie at Schicksal.
Tumblr media
It was obvious....
The way she would follow me to my house and watch me from outside, how she takes pictures thinking I'm unaware, the cameras in my house, my belongings that had 'magically disappeared'. Well, some of those disappeared items were my fault, but still.
No matter what I do, I can't take the cameras off unless I want to ruin one of my only friendships with a friend...... Oh well, it's just a little crush. It'll be over in a while, right?
It's been months since she started to do this. Now, she is finally talking with me face to face. I can tell she's nervous, her body language proves it. But there was also an unfamiliar glint in her eyes...
"Uhm... H-hello. You must be [Name], right? My name is Sirin. I heard a lot about you from my sister, Durandal." She introduced herself. She starts off the conversation with a little small talk about her sister, the weather, and her likes and dislikes. Then she asks about my likes and dislikes, my favorite food, and some other stuff.
After talking for a while, she seemed to get more confident. As her body language and her way of speech proves it. "Really? That's impressive! Oh, I have to go... Say... Are you free on Saturday? If so let's hang out! How about [Restaurant name]?" After a few more conversations, she had invited me to hang out with her on Saturday. I thought about it for a while. Seeing how I have nothing to do on Saturday, I agreed. "Sure, see you then."
"I did it! I actually did it! Finally, after months of stalking. I built up the courage to talk to them and I'm going on a date with them. I think I might just faint..."
"Good job, Sirin-sama. I'm sure they'll fall for you." Bella said as she gives Sirin her phone. "Of course!" She replied happily.
Bella looked like she wanted to ask Sirin something, but refrained from doing so until Sirin stopped speaking. "Sirin-sama, I don't mean to judge but why are you so obsessed with a Schicksal Valkyrie?" She hesitantly asked. "Haven't you heard? They were also like us. But, they saved everyone in their lab. And they had managed to forgive the ones responsible." She answered. "There are only a handful of people who are willing to forgive those who have wronged them. I truly admire those people."
"Ah. I see, those people are truly admirable." Bella nodded as she said her response. "I wish you the best of luck on your endeavors, Sirin-sama."
Tumblr media
"Hello, Sirin. Sorry if I'm late." [Name] waved as he came closer to their meeting point. "A-ah... Not at all! I've also just arrived a few minutes ago..." They talked as they entered the restaurant together. "How have you been?" [Name] asked. "O-oh, me? Well, I'm alright. What about you?"
"The usual. I have something to discuss with you later." They took their seats at a table in the corner. "Oh, alright." She nervously said as she starts to read the menu.
After ordering they continued to talk, mainly about their days and work. When the food arrived they shared some of their orders with each other. An elderly couple walked by and called them a 'young couple' and made Sirin feel embarrassed.
"Sirin, there's something I need to tell you." [Name] started and Sirin turned her head in their direction. "I know everything. I know you've been stalking me." They said making Sirin shocked. "H-how... But I-I..." She muttered. "Please stop. I'm not really interested in having any romantic relationships. That's all. Goodbye, Sirin." They said while standing from the table and started walking out of the restaurant after paying, leaving Sirin by herself.
Surprisingly, Sirin was rather calm from the event that just happened... She paid for her meal and walked back to her house. Once she entered her room she opened her phone and called Bella.
When Bella picked up, Sirin started to sob. "I-I can't believe this happened... W-what did I do wrong...!? I d-did everything right... So why..." She cried much to Bella's surprise. "H-hey, calm down a bit. Tell me what happened."
"Th-they knew everything..." She started. "Why...? Why? Why? Why?..... WHY?! D-did I do something wrong...? Tell me!"
"Calm down, please Sirin-sama. Why don't you just kidnap them? It'll make things easier." Bell suggested. ".... B-but... will I still be able to make them love me back....?" She asked in between her sobs. "We'll see."
It's been quiet.... too quiet... Sirin hasn't done anything for a while now. Maybe it worked and she fell out of love. But I still can't help but to be paranoid.
I walked back to my house, but I feel like something bad is going to happen. I turned a corner but was pulled back by an unknown force and felt a syringe hit my neck. My vision was slowly getting darker and darker, but I managed to see Sirin...
It was obvious...
She knows my daily routine... The places I frequent... Why didn't I see it before?
When I woke up I was in a darkroom... Whenever I moved I was restricted by chains at my ankles and wrists. The door then opened revealing Sirin. Happily standing there with a smile on her face. "Ah~ I finally have you all to myself... At last. We'll be together forever~."
Tumblr media
Extra HCs:
Sirin would try to secretly court the reader and whenever they ignore her advances she'll get super frustrated and rant to Bella.
She has two dolls that looked like her and the reader that were made by herself and named after both herself and the reader.
Probably plays with the dolls by making them get married, go on dates, and cheesy scenarios.
-----------------------
Sorry if it wasn't what you were expecting, and I'm sorry if my English is off I made this in a rush.... English also isn't my mother tongue so I have trouble writing from time to time. Once again, thanks for the request! I'm probably going to rewrite this in the future... But who knows.

Tumblr media
Sometimes Eddie wonders how she got so lucky to be with someone like Devina Sinclair. Hawkins High School was anything but wonderful, especially for people like them. A Black girl, with a love for books and a nerdy chaotic metalhead. Eddie had no interest in books, unless it was fantasy, but more specifically The Hobbit. Devina had no interest in metal, maybe soft rock, or R&B; unlike most couples that had nothing in common, they were able to meet each other in the middle.
Eddie had taught Devina how to play guitar all summer long back in high school, the boys were getting jealous that he was spending more of his time with her, than with his actual band. “Well if you two had girlfriends, maybe you wouldn't have to wait for me all the time.” He would tease them, but he was right, the way Gareth and Jeff explained it, Eddie practically saved them from the vultures like some God in fifth grade. They had been stuck to his side ever since, eventually they went their separate ways after high school.
No matter how much she tried to coax him, Eddie still took no interest in books, but he loved it when she read to him. They’d lay in bed together, their bodies tangled, the curtains drawn, and her soft feminine voice lulled him to sleep like a baby every time. It was on a day like this when Eddie learned his baby could sing, and boy could she sing her ass off. Once she thought he was sleeping, her voice would shift into a hushed humming of whatever song popped into her head.
“When you were here before, couldn't look you in the eye. You’re just like an angel, your skin makes me cry.” She sang quietly, while stroking Eddie’s hair, his eyes popped open, but he didnt move. Radiohead is one of his favorite bands, but he’s sure he hasn’t mentioned that before.
“Okay, two questions: 1. Who the hell taught you that song, and 2. When did you start singing? I need to know this information.” Eddie sat up from his spot between her thick thighs, suddenly he had the energy of a golden retriever.
“No one taught me that song, I’ve been a fan for a while, and I’ve alway been a singer…just in my own time. I thought you knew this?” Devina giggled when Eddie's eyes widened as large as plate saucers, his lips pulled back into a wide bright smile, and his brown eyes watched her with a mischievous look in them.
“No Eddie.” Devina began to pull away from him, but he wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her into him closely so that she couldn't get away.
“Please Please Please come on stage tonight Vina. I want to show the world how amazing you are, you deserve it.” His voice lowered into a whisper, and his bottom lids brimmed with tears. He does this to her every time he has to ask her to do something she’ll most likely say no to. She doesn't cave in right away, after a while though she ends up saying yes.
He loves showing off his girl, any chance he gets Eddie brings her up in all of his interviews, or just regular conversation. When he does live shows she'd be standing directly in the front supporting him, and at the end of the shows Eddie would always shout her out. If he was more tech savvy he would probably post you all the time, but just watching you scroll through Instagram made him feel overwhelmed.
“Eddie dont give me that look, I’m sure your fans care nothing about me, they didn't pay to see me. They paid for Eddie Munson.” Devina groaned, some of his fans already gave her an ear full over social media. At one point it had gotten so bad that she had to just turn her comments off on all platforms. When you live in a bubble like Devina, one isn't quite aware of how shitty the world is until something happens directly to you.
“Babe, you know I don’t care what those people say, I love you.” Eddie proclaimed, he claimed on top of her, and held her arms above her head. His face leaned in closer to her, their lips grazing each other, she could smell the sweet scent of raspberries from the cheesecake they scarfed down a little over an hour ago.
“Yeah, but I care, Eddie, the things they say…they’re saying them to me, not you.” Devina argued, she knew he was hurt by some of the fans behavior, the way he saw it, Devina is an extension of him. However, there’s only so much of the insults that he could directly relate to, like the racist comments for example. She could recall a few times people have commented under her post with Eddie, calling her different variations of a “Fat monkey”, but she’s never told him about those.
“Baby girl…I know what it’s like to be bullied, the only reason why I wasn't thrown in trash cans in high school is because I hit a growth spurt by the time I reached 10th grade. That, and people thought I was using DnD to cast spells and summon the Devil. That’s not the point though.” Eddie took a breath, the warm air fanning out over Devina’s face, she remained quiet, he got deep in thought during conversations like this.
“For a while I’ve been letting you deal with these issues on your own, I guess I just didn't want to make you feel like I was babying you. But that’s about to change right now, you’re my girl, my love, my life. I guess what I’m saying is, I got your back Devina Sinclair. There is no way you’re going to be sitting back in my shadow when you’ve got your own sunshine. So please, please, pretty please, sing for me tonight.” Eddie begged, his hands slid down her arms to cup her round face, Devina brought her legs up to wrap around his waist.
Only if you promise to be on stage with me?” she tried to bargain, though Eddie didn’t need much convincing from her, whatever Devina asked for the answer is always yes. Her hands slid underneath his undershirt, she lightly drug her nails down his stomach. He’s been in the gym a lot more than usual over the past few months, Devina is starting to notice how much more his muscles have become more defined. She’s not mad at it at all, she loved her DnD king either way.
“Sweetheart you could ask me to jump off a bridge and I do it, yes, I’ll be on stage with you.” Eddie moaned lightly as Devina's hands reached into his boxers, her hand wrapped around his thick shaft. Slowly she stroked him, Eddie trailed kisses from her lips, down her neck, and down between her breasts. He placed one hand next to her head to hold him up, and the other hand reached between her panties. Two of Eddie's fingers gently slipped into the warmth of her flower, which was already slick with her natural sap.
“Look at you, fucking perfect. And you’re all mine, isn't that right Devina.” Eddie cooed, his fingers slipped out, slipped over her clit, and back in one more time before he pulled himself out of his boxers.
“Fuck Eddie, yes I’m only yours.” She moaned as he slid into her slowly, Eddie fucking Munson, a monster of a dick if she did say so herself. He’s probably the biggest she’s ever had, and the best. Always so careful as to not hurt her, always knowing the right way to please her, he knew her body language like no other. The girth of him stretched her deliciously, he leaned back a little to get the right angle which had Devina’s back arching deeply. One leg at his side, and her other held in the air as Eddie gripped her ankle.
“That’s right baby, keep fucking squeezing me, I love it.” He moaned gruffly, nothing turned him on more than watching how Devina keeps herself healthy for him. Not that she was on a strenuous diet or anything, because he loved how soft, and plushy she is. But he knew that she liked to do a lot of self care, and beauty stuff. The bathroom is filled with fancy feminin hygiene products, and the fridge is packed with lots of fruits, and veggies. She keeps everything waxed, soft, and clean. His Devina is soft from the inside out, perfect, and he wouldn't trade it for the world.
“Devina sweetheart, this pussy is gonna kill me one of these days, you want me to come inside you baby? Say it out loud for me.”
“You know I want your cum baby, please, I love it when you fill me up.” The sound of her soft pleads, caressed Eddie's ears, and sent a shiver down his spine. There’s something so…mischievous about Devina, she has this side of her that is angelic, sweet. Then there are times she will say the nastiest things to him in private only to be heard by him. It drove him wild, the way she interacts with others, versus the way she interacted with him, it’s like she’s two different people.
“I’ll give you whatever you want, baby.” Eddie lowered himself onto her, the weight of him pressing Devina further into the bed, both her legs up over his shoulders, and their breathing escalated as he began to pound into Devina at a steady rhythm.
“Just like that baby, give me all that dick!” Devina shouted into Eddie's ear, he loved to hear her like this, not a single care in the world. Her words encouraged him further as he dug into her plush soft lips as far as he could go. Suddenly the thought of Devina with a large pregnant belly sparked in his mind, a sensation of butterflies rippling through his stomach brought him closer to an intense orgasam.
“Fuck Devina, I wanna give you every-fucking-thing. Can I do that, baby?” Eddie groaned, so close already, he couldn’t handle holding on any more. Her lips sucked gently on the base of her neck, and then trailed kissed up to his earlobe where she nibbled, flicked with her tongue.
“Give it to me baby.” Devina whispered lustfully, at the same time Eddie pulled all the way out to the tip, and thrusted back into her with all his might. His creamy hot load came spilling out into Devina, Their groans, and whines of pleasure mixed together as Eddie continued to pump in her, the gooey feeling becoming somewhat addicting. He had to do this again tonight, and the thought of it would never leave his mind until then.
The both of them laid there like that, arms, and legs tangled around each other. The air of their breathing, mixed with the scent of sex lingered in the room. Even when Eddie went soft again, they continued to lay like that until Devina had fallen asleep, and he really didn't want to wake her. After that they both needed a shower.
“You go first, if I go in with you this time, I won't make it to tonight's show.” Eddie chided, Davina giggled, kissed him on the lips, and rolled out of bed. Before she could get too far away, he turned over, and smacked her on the ass watching the way her cheeks jiggle. He ran his fingers through his curly hair getting turned on all over again, so he did what he always did when he got horny, and Devina wasn't around. He leaned back onto the bed, and wrapped his hand around himself, he closed his eyes imagining Devina on top of him with her round pillowy butt cheeks bouncing on him. He had endless lewd and explicit photos of Devina on his phone, but was too lazy to reach for it. Instead he reached for the pair of discarded cotton panties she just took off. A fresh musk scent left behind, and a tiny wet stain in the center.
“Shit this girl is gonna be the death of me.” Eddie moaned as he continued to stroke himself, though he wished this could last longer, he made quick work of it. After a few more pumps with his hand, Eddie is coming again into his hand, but it wasn't as quite exciting as coming into Devina.
“Alright rock star, showers all yours.” She appeared out of a haze of shower steam like a goddess, Eddie felt his dick jump, clearly it thought that they were going to get some more pussy. As much as he would like to comply, priorities must be at the top of the list. He sighed heavily, but still dragged himself out of bed, and got ready for his night.

What do you think the twins would think about a transmasc s/o who does martial arts?
Submas x Transmasc Martial Artist Reader!
Emmet and Ingo are an interesting pair of twins, to say the least. They're strong trainers, with strength comparable to that of the Champion Iris, with a peculiar personality that draws them apart from one another.
But you already know about them. This time, they're knowing about you.
The two know about you, you're a famous martial artist. At first you were a spectacle due to your gender which is still prevalent in some tiresome and irrelevant media circles, but otherwise you're known for your strength in both your physique and pokemon team.
In Nimbasa City, there was a world wide event that called forth the attention of the world's best fighting-type trainers. This wasn't just limited to just pokemon battles! The trainers themselves would be fighting against each other as well. This was a massive charity event!
You were a celebrity at this point because you weren't a gym leader or an Elite Four member unlike those in the roster. You've traveled the world and amassed a number of skills and Pokemon to create the perfect team.
But when you arrived to Nimbasa City, you were trying to be inconspicuous. You don't like attracting attention unless you're on the battlefield because you get the attention of a bunch of weak trainers who don't give you a challenging fight.
But that day you were in the subway station, you were very lost...the Unovan subway system is regarded to be the best in the world but you grew very accustomed to Galar's flying taxi's.
So Ingo got to meet you first. Being the gentleman he is, he escorted you to your next stop while talking to you. Without giving away your name, you mention that you're taking part of the fighting tournament. Ingo expresses an interest in that and wishes you luck, not knowing who you are until later.
When the twins get together with Elesa and Skyla to watch in front row seats, Ingo SHOUTS when he realizes you walk on stage. He's quick to inform the others that he's actually met you! You lightly laugh when you see him in the crowd and give him a wink. The cameras go fucking wild at this as you saunter onto the stage to fight.
The Pokemon fight against Bea was intense, your Toxicroak defeated Bea's Grapploct by wearing it down with poisonous attacks.
But your actual physical fight with Bea was beyond comprehension due to how fast it was. You were relentless and overwhelming, the young teenager never stood a chance.
You're quickly vilified in the spotlight due to how harsh you were. The corner of the audience that is Galarian are shocked into silence. You two walk off stage and aren't seen for a while.
Emmet gets a bit envious so he decides he wanted to meet you too. Since they all paid good money to get backstage access, they meet up with you after the fight you had with Bea. But they quickly pause when they hear light sniffles.
"Whoa, hey, you're gonna be ok," they hear you say as you apply another bandaid to her cheek. "You did good out there. Almost had me a good couple of times too. You don't gotta cry, girl, you got all of Galar rooting for you. You made everyone proud, you hear? That intense footwork, the way you move, you had me sweating bullets!" they hear Bea gently laugh at that and ask if you meant it, you confirm this. You eventually leave her room and exit into the hallway, where you see the group. Though they wouldn't say that they heard you, they take note of your protective kindness as you immediately close the door behind you and say, "You folks better give my girl Bea some time," with a glare.
but they immediately clear up the situation that they merely wanted to meet you! Now you're a bit bashful if it weren't for the bruise you had on your cheek. "Gee thanks! Never knew I had fans out there actually. Just been chugging along on my own, on my little destiny train, seeing where the tracks will take me."
You are strong, handsome, caring, AND you use train puns? Oh it's over for the twins the moment you turn your back to them, Ingo and Emmet are immediately fighting over who asks you out first.

Haven't even finished either story yet (just reading both at the same time and eagerly consuming spoilers - for tged since there is basically NOTHING for the sequel 😭), but I'm still thinking about what an au where Lloyd's swordsman guard is Damian and rakiel is stuck w Javier would be like...
bestie you're telling me i went from a fandom with 100k fics to one with 1k to one with 100 to one with 0 i am starving over here 😭 i think i'm literally the only one in the tag for rakiel and i don't care for twitter so tumblr is my one contact with the tged fandom at all and the situation is,,, dire,,,
y'know i had written a pretty lengthy and thoughtful response about how i think lloyd and damian would respond to each other according to their character and circumstances but then my computer turned off and i lost it so instead you get this:
Tumblr media
they both get where the other is coming from, they understand each other perfectly. doesn't mean they have to like it!
lloyd is trying to get out from life ruining debt! he can't afford to have a knight with a high salary who demands bonuses and raises constantly! damian is coming from nigh slavery, of course he wants to have financial security in any way he can get it! they both know the worth of money, how important it is to have it and to demand what you're owed so of course they're simultaneously in the same boat while being directly opposed.
not that i'm saying lloyd is a bad boss, he's very fair and just, always paying on time (something damian actually calls rakiel out on lmao) but he's a penny pincher and likes to save as much as possible. which is something i do see damian having a bit of an issue with because one of the things he really likes about rakiel is how generous he is with people, both with his time, effort and resources despite seemingly getting nothing for himself (of course not knowing about the bonus life lol). and we know lloyd does nothing for free and is shameless about it. so their relationship would be them constantly butting heads as they both try to squeeze as much of each other as possible.
on the other hand, i think lloyd would actually have an easier time getting damian to like him than with javier actually lmao. like, let's be honest, damian isn't the paragon of virtue javier is. as long as he's getting paid and isn't being asked to, idk, burn down an orphanage, he's pretty down for anything. heck, he didn't give a shit about rakiel, the imperial crown prince, being replaced by someone else, because he liked the other guy so he wouldn't give a flying fuck about og!lloyd, recognized hooligan, being replaced by someone who actually cares about the estate he works for.
and damian would be much more direct with lloyd too. he would not keep it to himself if he knew about lloyd being kim suho, that boy would tell him the first opportune moment he got lmao now the question is whether lloyd would come clean or go total denial the way rakiel did,,,, mmmhhhh many thoughts for later,,,
and javier as rakiel's bodyguard! mmmhhhh now this au would require a lot of thought, because so many things of the plot depend of rakiel using the asrahan mana absorption method. but if we go by vibes alone and ignore all worldbuilding, the i think,,,, mmmmhhh what do i think actually,,,,
well honestly to begin with i don't think there'd be too much trouble actually. like. at all. javier is,,, javier. he's thee protagonist, he's good, he's honorable, he's all you can ask for from a main character. he gets rescued from the gladiator arena by rakiel, you better believe he'd pledge his life to him from there. and like, unless we want to make him a carbon copy of damian, then he wouldn't even ask for a big salary like damian did. he'd just stick to rakiel and protect him at all costs. we see how loyal he is in tkbi and tged, he gets saved by arcos and he never serves another master after that, he decides he wants to protect lloyd and he literally ascends to another plane of existence to do it. if rakiel rescued him, there'd be no power on earth that would make him leave his side. and that would only increase as he sees rakiel push himself over and over again to treat and save people by seemingly no reason but that he wants too (again, no one knows about the bonus life lmao). he'd push himself just as hard to be helpful to rakiel and protect him, like he does in tged with lloyd and like damian does too.
and in this particular au i don't even see him having an issue with the whole 'replaced by another person' thing. after all, in tged the point of conflict was that javier is a knigh for the frontera family, not just for lloyd. so it was technically his duty to let arcos know that someone had replaced his son, even if that someone had saved them all from total ruin. but he didn't, because he trusts lloyd and because he thought they deserved to heard it from lloyd himself first.
but in this case, javier would be rakiel's bodyguard. he isn't anything from the emperor, he isn't even a knight, heck, he never even met the real prince, as far as he's concerned he's only loyal to the rakiel he knows which is lee han. he has no reason to be conflicted because he swore loyalty to lee han and lee han is his prince rakiel.
oh and he would hate javilon's guts. utter hatred. like it's on sight for him go straight for the neck lmao
somehow i think he'd be even more protective of rakiel than he is already of lloyd. like lloyd can handle himself pretty well. rakiel can too, but he looks like a strong gust of win will blow him away. it messes with his brain chemistry a little.
and he'd take being the vessel for the demon king pretty hard. especially when he accidentally hurts rakiel. and when he gets sick. like that'd be pretty close to how damian reacts in the novel too.
as for rakiel,,,, i have a harder time deciding how he'd feel about javier. i feel like pretty much the way he does with damian?? i don't think much would change tbh. much of the banter between rakiel and damian comes from damian asking for more bonuses and rakiel complaining about it, and if javier doesn't do that then they'd have to find something else to bicker about. probably rakiel's terrible stamina lmao
so,,, yeah aksdka

September Sky Chapter Five, part 8
The place was busy. Blacks and reds and whites floated around the bar and dance floor. At the moment, Mike Shinoda's remix of "Enjoy The Silence' was pumping through the carefully hidden speakers. The dance floor was crowded with people flowing and ebbing, and not always in time with the song's beat. That's the greatness of the goth dance. All you have to do is flow. That is, unless you were a cyber-goth. Three of them stood off with their neon and black straps, standing against the wall. The strange and hypnotic that was industrial dance was almost hypnotizing when it's done well. These three looked as if they were pretty serious in it.
A bartender dressed in a black shirt and black jeans came up to us. Anyone who looked at him could probably tell he was not a happy person. I don't think he wanted to be here on goth night. Hence why he wore the bare minimum look. I handed over my card before Addison could even slightly protest. I even but the first round for everyone. I'd been a third wheel for so long, that I felt like being generous.
Once we got our drinks, Addison and Kayla started having some quiet conversation I couldn't hear. I looked around, taking in my surroundings. Basically looking for the exits. I always look for the exits.
"How's things been?" I loudly asked Conner.
"Good. Finally got a job at the distribution center." Conner was talking about a Target distribution center that sat on the outskirts of Oconomowoc. The place paid really well and the job's were extremely easy.
"Ah nice. Actually making something?" I promise you, he was making more than I was.
"Enough that one check can pay our rent plus go grocery shopping."
"You guys moved in together?"
"Two months ago. Nobody told you?"
"No. I'll have to get you guys a potted cactus as a housewarming gift. I guess it's official, I'm out of the loop." I laughed. I was never in the loop. You have to pay attention to be in the loop, and even before my head broke, I had a very short attention span.
"Nah, not yet. You're like Pluto. Way out on the edges of the loop."
I may have not been a very social person, but I truly enjoyed the time I spent with the friends I'd managed to have latched on. These moments had been far and few in between, but I wouldn't trade them for anything.
"So how is that working out?" I asked.
"Great. really good. She keeps me in check."
"That's awesome, man. I'm really happy for you guys."
"What about you? What've you been up to?" Conner looked around quick, his eyes scanning the room.
"Work. Home. Repeat. Dropped out. For real this time."
"Just couldn't do it anymore?"
I laughed slightly as I sipped a very strong whiskey sour. I grimaced and swallowed it down. Maybe I'd have to ask him to make mine light. I didn't feel like getting wasted tonight. Not here. Not now.
"You know, there are other places you can go." Conner had met me before Emily, and he got to see a side most of my friends forgot. The teenage anarchist. Loud, obnoxious and fearless. Now I was in fear all the time. Fear of my own head.
"I go other places sometimes."
"Name one."
"I went to Dimes last week."
"Last week."
"What's wrong with that? Once a week is pretty good."

A Change of Plans by Faithfully_Queer
Rated General, 800 words, Steris/MeLaan Steris finds her work interrupted by something unexpected.
Steris was sitting in her study, House Ladrian’s finances laid before her. While it wasn’t the most exciting thing she’d done in her life, it was just as vital and where she was most useful.
As she was tracking down the source of a small discrepancy in various reports, she heard the door open and someone walk in. She paid it no mind and continued working. Wax knew not to bother her when she was working unless it was necessary, and if it was she had created plans for dealing with almost anything important that could come up.
Just as she was about to be able to confirm the source of the discrepancy, someone cleared their voice, someone who, based on the sound, was decidedly not her husband.
Only slightly startled, Steris turned around to look at her guest, mentally going through her list of people likely to do this and the associated appropriate response, finding someone unexpected but not unplanned for. This someone happened to be Melaan, who was leaning against one of the bookcases, nominally looking at the books on the shelves, but really examining Steris.
Melaan didn’t seem willing to start the conversation, so Steris spoke up. “Oh Melaan, I wasn’t expecting you, what brings you to my study unannounced?” A little accusatory, but acceptable, all things considered.
“Just needed a little help with something best done in private, so I figured ‘Why not now?’” Melaan answered, still only looking at Steris out of the corner of her eye.
While Steris had an idea of what Melaan might need help with, it was always wise to confirm. “And what is this something?”
Lackadaisically turning to face Steris, Melaan answered, “Thinking of ways to alter my true body to be less recognizable. I have ideas, but I need someone to see if they actually work.” That was an unexpected answer, one she didn’t have a plan for, but at least simple enough that she could do without. However, it did leave one question, “Why me, instead of Wayne? I feel like he would be the one you would ask first.”
There was a flash of something that briefly appeared on Melaan’s face. Though Steris couldn’t figure out exactly all the emotion in it, it was clear she’d somehow stepped on a sore spot. “Ordinarily I would, but I think for this, you would be more useful.”
She's probably referring to my attention to detail. Well, it would be a nice distraction from the tedium of finances, and probably wouldn't take too long… "Very well, if it won't take too long."

Series of Unexpected Occurences - Part 2
I have no explanation for myself. I wrote this whole thing in like an hour or two. Hope you guys like it :}
Random odd jobs around the town would not be enough. Even with better-paid jobs he occasionally got with the help of Katherine's recommendation, there was no way fWhip would be able to afford everything he needed to properly study magic. Katherine told him there was no hurry but fWhip was in a hurry. He only has so much time until Gem heard the 'great news' that he was studying in Evermore. Over the almost two months he stayed in Katherine's free room he had to send a letter home so his parents didn't come to the city and do something stupid.
That aside. He needed something better than small odd jobs. There was no way he could afford his daily expenses - clothes, food - he was not letting Katherine feed him for free, occasional meat pie. That one time the needed a healer or he'd be out of commission for far too long. And then came the costs of studying magic. It needed much more than just some books. Magical supplies were damn expensive and were even rarer at second-hand stores. While magic stores rarely bought used books, which led them to fWhip's favourite stores, they had no qualms about buying old artefacts and really rare tomes and scrolls. Like very, very rare ones. fWhip would know, he helped at a new enchanting shop in town a few times. Tango and Keralis were a really impressive duo and it was no wonder enchanted items - even the simplest and smallest enchantments of mundane items - were really expensive.
And there was a matter of fWhip being a wizard, not a sorcerer like Gem was based on a short chat with Keralis. Outside some really simple and small spells, he'd need a grimoire and a proper 'focus' to properly concentrate his magic for bigger spells. Empty grimoires were expensive to buy if one didn't have proper magical education. They practically had to be specially ordered from a place like Big Eyes and made from very specific materials in a very specific way. In short - they were possibly as expensive as a year's rent in Middle Stratos. For an empty book to transcribe spells into... And the transcription needed expensive things too. A very special quill and speciality ink and speciality paper if one's book didn't have room anymore.
He needed a proper stable job. His skill with magic wasn't good enough to become an adventurer. He wouldn't need to get into the academy if he could do that. No proper, paying well enough place would hire someone as young as him. And if they did it might be troublesome to quit later on.
But no part-time kind of job he was doing so far would pay well enough unless... it wasn't legal. Where would he find shady job listings? Shady taverns in Lower Stratos. But he couldn't just go to one of those. He didn't want any trouble chasing him when he got into Evermore. But they would likely pay so much better just so he doesn't babble what and for who he was doing.
Would Evermore ever investigate what he did to get better at magic? No way. And with that conclusion, he left for the Lower Stratos. Officially he was out to look for job listings at other more reputable taverns and big announcement boards in the market district. Katherine didn't need to worry about where he was actually going.
Lower Stratos barely felt like part of Stratos. The main streets were barely paved. If the occasional side street was it likely led to a place fWhip should not go to. At least according to what he heard about the place. He stayed by the main streets - narrower and much dirtier than even the docks but he grew up on a farm. Some mud was nothing new.
Once he found a tavern that was open he walked in and instantly turned to the job board. The listings were a bit different than in Middle Stratos. There you would ask the tavern keeper for how to contact the person who was looking for 'assistance'. Here you just tore the paper off and simply left the establishment. Like a gruff-looking adventurer type who was already there when fWhip walked in. fWhip looked over the three listings left on the board trying to look like it was nothing new. And to ignore the only other two people there - old, one-eyed bartender and a person completely covered by a cloak, sipping an amber liquid.
None of the jobs was anywhere legal. And one clearly would involve breaking into a house in Upper Stratos. It paid more than fWhip ever expected a single job to pay but he was not that desperate or insane so he picked a cheaper offer. It was to get into a specific storehouse in the docks - fWhip recently learned a trick to open doors with magic that did not need a focus - find a specific package and bring it to a specific storehouse in Lower Stratos. Didn't sound too hard or illegal - though the thing he would have to pick up likely did not belong to whoever was paying. And it paid as much as fWhip made last month. The payment would apparently be waiting for him where he was to bring the thing.
He didn't hear anyone shouting after him as he left with the paper in hand so he assumed he was correct to follow the gruff man's example. If this one went smoothly he might look for more jobs signed by the 'Copper King', as lame as that nickname sounded. But who would sign an offer like that with their real name? Certainly not fWhip. And other two offers were also signed with what looked like an alias.
Since there was no specified time to get the job done fWhip took his time making his way to the docks. He was not grabbing mysterious boxes during the day. The listing did not involve asking anyone for a thing. Just to get in and grab the thing. He bought the cheapest bag he could find. He had no bag on him to move the thing in when he got it.
The storehouse in question was mighty suspicious even as fWhip just walked past it towards his old accommodations. It was locked, silent, and dark with no traffic or even guards. Well. No turning back now so he ducked into a side alley as soon as there were no guards around and carefully made his way to the back of the storehouse.
No guard there either but there was a back door. Most of the storehouses in the docks had a back door for safety purposes. He stopped by the door, waiting with his trick and listened in for any noise from inside. Nothing. Silencing magic, he thought and focused as well as he could on trying to feel out any magic in the area. Again, nothing aside from the city light out front. But it could be something he could not feel like this. No turning back, he reminded himself and gently knocked on the door sending some magic along with it as he practised at Katherine's.
The lock clicked open and there was no alarm or other noise. He waited a few seconds before walking in and summoning a small light. Another small trick he learned that didn't need a fancy focus.
Inside the storehouse was dark and smelled weirdly damp. There were some big wooden boxes but mostly it was empty. The listing said to find a small box wrapped in brown paper so he carefully looked through the storehouse for it. Still listening for anyone coming into the place. Curse Stratos and their curfew hours. He'd much rather do this sneaking about at night.
Not that he was doing any crimes. He was just picking up someone's box since they apparently couldn't do it. The storehouse might as well belong to this 'Copper King'. It never said it wasn't his. Maybe he just needed the box moved discretely without involving more people than needed. And were too busy to do it themselves. Yes. That's what fWhip would tell himself if he felt bad about it.
"Oh," he could not help but sigh in relief when he found a box that matched the description in the job offer. Not too big or small, wrapped in plain, brown paper, with - 'to CK' written on it in elegant cursive. CK. Copper King? He could not help but wonder as he put it in his bag and even as he snuck back out of the storehouse and away from the docks. Back to Lower Stratos.
The address he was to bring it back to was in a side alley. He was a bit apprehensive to walk to it but he already got that far. And it wasn't one of the paved ones. This storehouse was much like the one in the docks but the lantern by the front door was lit up even if it wasn't that dark. There was still some time left until the curfew. With a deep breath, fWhip knocked on the front door. Just in case whoever lit the lantern was still there. The door seemed to open on its own, almost spooking him back to the docks, to return the box.
But he stayed and walked in. There were some more dim lanterns inside and nothing but a table with a bag - smaller than fWhip's bag, and upon closer inspection letter in it. "Okay..." fWhip whispered to himself as he pulled the box out. With another deep breath, he grabbed the letter. It wasn't in any envelope and simply said - 'good work fWhip,' and was signed 'Copper King' in the same cursive as the box fWhip grabbed from the docks.
Now that's creepy, fWhip thought as he looked around. Didn't look like there was anyone else there. "You're welcome? Pleasure working with you," he said to the empty warehouse. The box out of his bag and replaced by his payment. There were a lot of coins in that bag where he peeked in. All real as far as he could see from a brief check.
"The pleasure's all mine, young man," a voice came out of nowhere.
That was enough Lower Stratos and creepy storehouses for fWhip and he all but ran away once out of the warehouse. Right to Glimmer Grove, to warm dinner and his room.
Once his heart calmed down he counted his payment. There was a bit more than the offer said. About seventy coins more. And a leather rope bracelet with a copper coin with CK emblazoned on it. He heard from Keralis that copper made for good magic focus. He probably shouldn't just walk around with it out but it might be useful if it was real, pure copper there. He'd have to test it and if it was then... Well, Copper King was already proving to be a very generous individual for how easy the job was. With just one job fWhip was much closer to grimoire than he would be in half a year with his usual jobs... If the coins and bracelet were genuine he just might look for more jobs from this mysterious King.

THANK YOU!! I've literally grown so annoyed with pjms lately because all they do is whine and whine and whine. LC is a good song, but the truth is that it never left the kpop bubble. The GP doesn't know that song and frankly, im shocked that people are expecting LC to get a grammy nom over Seven. This isnt me being biased either because i would say the same about 3D if it was jungkooks debut song, because 3D never made it out the kpop bubble either.
Do you feel like the Fandom has started to resent Jungkook? I've seen the same pattern lately. Someone praises Seven, and someone mentions another person's release. For example, people were talking about how seven deserves to win best music video and someone comments "what about Haegeum?" Or "haegeum deserved it." It just feels like they want any other member to win other than JK. I already Nov 10th is going to be filled with so much drama
I disagree that 3D never made it out of the kpop bubble. Jungkook's very much out of the kpop bubble as a soloist, and Jack Harlow was never in the bubble. 3D's doing well on Spotify too, given the fierce competition and the fact that it's obviously not as good or as well promoted as Seven (the alternate version is almost on the same level as Seven to me, but Harlow is unbearable and 3D's not as replayable).
Anyway, 3D will never get a Grammy nom, but Seven should. The Grammys are all about popularity. Igaf about "quality", at the end of the day, of all the artists voters know, they choose the songs they like best (or get paid to like). It's simple: if you're not popular/influential, at least in those circles, no one will hear your song. Seven deserves at least the pop group/duo nom since it's going to become the fastest song to hit 1B streams on Spotify, was loved by the GP, had impact, and because it's a good song. Imo it's actually better than Dynamite and on the same level as Butter. I don't like Latto much but her part is admittedly fun and catchy once I stopped being annoyed at her feature (Seven would be miles better without it though). The clean lyrics are good enough for me too, and Seven also has longevity. I've heard it a million times already but it doesn't really become annoying - the opposite, actually. Now I can understand why people liked it.
Anyway, I'm not sure if the "fandom" resents Jungkook. I mean, what is the fandom? There are millions of us. Solo stans for sure resent Jungkook because, obviously, neither Jimin nor V can compete with Jungkook's power and global popularity right now, Jimin stans are mad at Hybe for sabotaging LC in the radio, and Hyung line stans are often mad at the maknae line for being more popular. When it comes to the Grammys and other award shows, it's like all of a sudden fans don't know how the game works... Seven not getting a best MV nod when (although I didn't like it) it was high budget, cinematographic, well shot, had a story, had impact, served visuals, etc. would be at least a bit unfair unless all other nominees have better MVs. But why would Haegeum be nominated? Just because it's good? Again, it's not about quality. It's about being known (or buying your way in). Not many Grammy voters know Agust D or watched Haegeum. It's not like YTC, when the Grammys clearly just wanted to nominate BTS so fans wouldn't accuse them of racism again and maybe tune in to the show. Agust D is not BTS. People don't know him as much. They know BTS, but not Suga individually for the most part. But a lot of people know Jungkook individually now, and he's the member people are most likely to know. They could nominate him just to throw kpop some crumbs. That's what all these award shows do anyway.
There's a lot of discourse about Jungkook now. Jimin and the rap line wrote their songs and produced their albums, so they're better than Jungkook. V sang in Korean and paired up with a pedophile artistic genius, so he's better than Jungkook. Blah blah. The audience doesn't care. There's popularity/sales/streams/engagement and then there's artistry/quality/whatever. Those two dimensions intersect but that's it. Fans know this... That's why Dynamite is BTS's best performing song...
Anyway, don't even know what I'm saying, but, yeah, thanks for the ask!

Somehow in my head I had Eddy and Izzy out in rural nowhere rather than suburbia in YAILY… and now that I got set straight, the idea of them in suburbia is cracking me up.
Could we have them dealing with an HOA?
(HOKAY SO! I think they actually live in the kind of area I do, where it borders between suburbia and rural. I live in a fairly crowded neighborhood, but if you drive a few miles more north, you get these really gorgeous properties where a single, not even particularly large house, will sit on a lot of land. I picture their house as older, like maybe late 19th century kind of farmhouse. Flint and Thomas' house is a little more recent, probably both were originally the same farm before it got sold and split up.
HOAs aren't really a thing where I am unless you live in a gated community or a condo complex as hysterical as that would be to see happen.
But! I bet they do deal with neighbors, who don't have the same appreciation for Eddy's garden which isn't tidy and has bits that run really wild. )
Izzy answered the door after the second series of rapid knocks to a tiny blue-haired lady,
"Yes?"
"My name is Miss Tandy, Mr. Teach and I live-"
"Hands," he corrected. "Mx. Teach is out, if you're looking for her."
"I-no," she huffed. "It's the name on your mailbox."
"Yeah," Izzy stared at her. He'd painted it himself. "I know."
"Well. I just wanted to let you know that it's very careless to leave those tall grasses to run wild. It encourages deer ticks and other sorts of animals to take shelter. I've had a groundhog problem here for you years-"
"I don't do the garden," he bit off. "You want to take it up with them, you can. Good luck to you."
"You live here don't you?" She frowned. "I see your car."
"Yeah."
"And you're her...."
"Partner," Izzy supplied. This is early days still, so there's a word now, but not the one they'll be eventually.
"I see," Miss Tandy said like someone who didn't see at all. "Can't you speak with her about it?"
"I can," Izzy agreed. "But I won't."
"Why not?" She glared at him.
"You live what? Half a mile down the road? What do you care what happens this far down? You just wanted a chance to come over here. I've seen you lurking around."
"I do not lurk! I go for walks!"
"Aces for you lady, get the hell off my stoop," Izzy took a step back and slammed the door in her face.
"I know someone on the town board!" She yelled through the door.
Izzy rolled his eyes and went back to laying tile in the kitchen.
Four days later, Eddy stomped in from outside,
"I just met your new friend."
"Oh yeah?" Izzy tightened a screw, then took a step back to check the hang of the cabinet door.
"She's a fucking piece of work, huh?"
"Yep."
"I'm not cutting back the grass. Why grow it if you're not going to let it do it's thing?"
"Dunno."
"Are you even listening to me?"
"Uh huh." Izzy stepped forward and tightened the screw again. "She's just a bitter old lady, wouldn't worry about it."
"Yeah, you're probably right."
The ticket from the village arrived just a few days after that.
"$330 for property neglect?" Eddy's voice dropped into a low growl. "I'm going to destroy her."
Izzy sighed, "Yeah? How? Cause if you like it here, I don't think the old ways are gonna cut it."
"I'm going to the court, obviously," she hissed. "I'm getting a lawyer."
"We have $330," he pointed out, not because he thought it matter just because someone had to say it.
"My garden is not neglect."
"Yeah, I know," he said as softly as he knew how. If anything, it was probably the most attention Eddy had ever paid to something outside of their work. Sure it was haphazard and half-wild, but it was also beautiful and the fruits of many hours of her labor.
"Okay then."
Izzy made a few phone calls after that. Got a copy of the local rules they were apparently breaking and made a few notes. Normally he hated court, hated anything that smacked of the judicial system, but when they turned up at the village town hall, it was hard to work up much of a lather. The court was a single shabby room with folding chairs. The judge looked sleepy as he heard cases fairly similar to theirs. Work done without a permit, downed trees, and parking violations. It was about as far from a criminal court as you could get and still be related.
"I see you've had a run in with Miss Tandy," the judge said with a slight smile as Eddy and Izzy stood before him. "The village inspector did find some overgrowth."
"None of it was invasive species or poison ivy," Eddy kept their body language loose and the matched the judge's faint amusement. She was excellent at mirroring. Izzy just glowered beside her. "If the inspector had asked, I would've told him it was all local wild grasses."
"I see. Do you have photos of the area? I see they neglected to include them in the report."
Eddy handed them over, glossy shots that Izzy had taken for just such a moment.
"It's entirely on our property," Eddy informed him. "Which we're allowed to cultivate as much as we'd like as far as I'm aware."
"You are," the judge agreed, looking through the photos. "These look particularly healthy. One gardener to another, you do need to trim them back at the end of the season, they'll grow back better next year if you do."
"Oh," Eddy considered that. "All right, I'll keep that in mind."
"I can see where the confusion might've come in, but you've got village rules to rights. There's nothing here that we would count as neglect, considering the rest of the lawn is trimmed. So I'm dismissing the ticket. However, another word of advice?"
"Yes?" Eddy waited, eyes wary.
"Make friends with her, huh? She's lonely."
Eddy frowned, "I'll take that under advisement."
Izzy highly doubted that.
Miss Tandy didn't try the courts again, but she did go on her nosy little walks almost every day. Eddy settled into ignoring her and Izzy would watch from the window sometimes. It was irritating to have that bit of grit in the boot after they'd spent so much time trying to clear all that out.
So one night, when all was very quiet and the moon shrouded in clouds, Izzy slipped outside. He did his work in silence. And he was good at it.
A few days later, Miss Tandy went for her walk, but came up their driveway instead of turning right around at the dead end. Eddy's rose out of the flower bed with care.
"Here," Miss Tandy held out a pie tin. "Picked too many blueberries this year, can hardly keep up with the things."
"Uh, thank you?" Eddy took it warily.
"And thank your...partner. For me." She said stiffly, then turned on her heels and marched away.
Eddy turned to the kitchen window, a question on her face. Izzy shrugged and went back to the dishes. Of course she came inside and set the pie plate down.
"What did you do?" she demanded.
"I took care of the groundhogs," he admitted. "Tranqued and relocated them to a field too far away from them to come home again. Left her note saying I got a friend in pest control who did it."
"Iz," Eddy laughed. "You didn't."
"I did," he had to laugh with her. "She's just an old lady, you know?"
"Yeah," Eddy uncovered the pie. "You definitely shouldn't eat this."
"Yeah, no shit. Enjoy though."
Food from a stranger who had recently taken them to court would never have crossed their lips just a year or so ago. But things had changed and she really was just a little old lady. Izzy had checked. So Eddy ate the pie. After that, Miss Tandy would sometimes stop in the drive and they'd make small talk about the garden. At the end of the summer, Eddy even gave her a basket of squash.
Years later, Thomas would ask through the trees,
"How'd you get her to stop glaring?"
"Eh," Izzy said casually, "she's just lonely. Eddy can charm the wings off a fly. It worked out."
"Huh," Thomas watched Eddy and Miss Tandy chat. "She tried to sue us for paving our driveway."
"She needs help with the snow in the winter," Izzy offered. "Just shovel her out once, you'll be golden. Spare me from doing it every time."
"I can do that. Or Flint can," Thomas grinned. "Thanks."
"Sure."
