10 shocking. Ingredients in your food: what you need to know before you next trip to tha  grocery store.
Food is your primary source of nourishment and health. What you put into your body matters. The quest to eat healthy seems like it should be so simple, yet there is so much deception from food companies that it is hard to know what is healthy and what isn’t.
As you walk through the aisle of your local grocery, you are inundated with thousands of subtle marketing ploys. Food companies want you to buy their products, and actively strive to mislead you into thinking that their food is healthier than it is.
You see products that boldly announce things like ‘Organic’, ‘No Trans Fats’, ‘All Natural’, ‘Gluten Free’, ‘Fat Free’ and so many other seemingly healthy terms. Consumers often don’t realize that they are buying foods that are harmful to their health. You might think, “it’s organic, so it must be healthy.” Unfortunately, that is not always the case.
Food Companies DON'T CARE About You The sooner you realize this the better. Food companies are not interested in your health. They are interested in making money. Companies shift their marketing to meet consumer trends and demands, but they will not necessarily change much in how they process and manufacture food. They will also go out of their way to hide unhealthy ingredients from you.
What’s worse is the FDA allows this. They also allow numerous food additives that are known to create major health problems. You want to know something else crazy? The FDA also doesn’t require chemical contaminants (like rocket fuel) to be listed.
WHAT??? There are soooo many unsafe food additives whose names are misleading to the uninformed consumer. Knowing this, the grocery store suddenly becomes a landmine rather than a source of nourishment and health. You don’t know what you are putting into your body or feeding your family. It’s no wonder there are so many major health problems in this country.
Even if you shop in the organic/natural/whole foods section of your local grocery, you still have to be careful. Certainly, there are many better choices there, but these sections also have a lot of highly processed foods that are not as healthy as you might think. You need to be very careful about ANY packaged foods you purchase. Read your labels carefully.
increased risk for type 2 diabetes, damage to blood vessels, high blood pressure and increased risk for certain cancers. You may be accustomed to the texture and taste of white breads and flours, but do your health a favor and switch it up to true whole grains. . 21 Day Healthy Wealthy Body Cleanse
IF YOU'RE READING THIS IT’S YOUR SIGN TO KICKSTART A WHOLE NEW WAY OF LIVING BEFORE THIS YEAR IS OVER!
Leveling up is an ongoing journey. Lately I’ve been feeling the need to do a cleanse and welcome in new energy. I’m thinking a 21 day cleanse that incorporates mind, body, spirit exercises. One of the hardest parts about doing cleanses is not having someone to keep you accountable. If you’ve been wanting to do a cleanse, join the program where you can track your progress, connect with people who are also doing the cleanse, and get recipe ideas. You can join free anytime before the start date!
“Rules”
The first cleanse will be a liquid diet and will start on Monday October 10, 2022!
Always check with your doctor before starting any new changes to your diet, especially if you have medical issues.
For this cleanse you will need:
1. A juicer, blender, or citrus press
2. Fresh fruit and/or vegetables (preferably organic and in season)
Juice for breakfast
Juice for lunch
Juice for snack
Juice for dinner
Juicing Recipes: The Juicing Bible is an excellent resource. Amazon link: https://amzn.to/3qEsKBb
I’ll also post some recipes in the program group tab
3. Water, water, water! 💦 Water keeps you hydrated, clears skin blemishes, and normalizes your digestive system. Making sure that you are well hydrated during your cleanse is very important. You need to drink at least half of your body weight in water every day. For example if you weigh 150 lbs, you need to drink 75 ounces of water each day= 9 1/2 8 ounce glasses per day.
4. A lemon in at least 1 glass of water per day = 21 lemons for your water for the 21 days of this cleanse.
5. A gratitude journal to help you work on cleansing your spirit. Everyday when you wake up instead of grabbing your phone take a few deep breaths and cultivate a feeling of gratitude. Pull out your gratitude journal and write down one thing you are grateful for. You can do this while sipping on some lemon water.
6. Practice meditation for 5-10 minutes each day. This might be hard for some people but if you can attempt meditation after writing in your gratitude journal it’ll get easier each day.
7. $21 dollars. Give $1 away each day to a stranger. This can be in the form of a tip, charity, or just sending $1 to someone random each day. This will open up the reciprocation of universal energy of abundance and prosperity. If you’re unfamiliar with the flow of money, listen to this podcast episode.
Do your daily check-ins right on the program which you can access on my website or the app.
Remember you are in control! If you want to do 2-3 days or 5-7 days or do 10-21 or more days the choice is yours! Take it one day at a time, listen to your body, and again check with doctor! I’m super excited! I can’t wait to hear about the amazing things that are going to manifest over the next few weeks. Let’s go!

What Foods Are Good for Losing Weight?
Hey there! If you're looking to shed some pounds, focusing on the right foods can make a big difference. Here's a breakdown of foods that are great for weight loss.
1. Lean Proteins
Including lean proteins in your diet can help you feel full and satisfied while supporting muscle growth and repair. Opt for:
Chicken breast
Turkey
Fish (such as salmon or tuna)
Tofu
Lentils
Beans
2. Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber, making them excellent choices for weight loss. Aim for a variety of colors to maximize nutrient intake. Some top picks include:
Berries (like strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
Leafy greens (such as spinach, kale, and Swiss chard)
Cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts)
Citrus fruits (such as oranges, grapefruits, and lemons)
Apples
Berries
Carrots
Bell peppers
3. Whole Grains
Whole grains provide fiber and complex carbohydrates, which can help keep you feeling full and satisfied. Look for:
Brown rice
Quinoa
Oats
Whole wheat pasta
Barley
Bulgur
Farro
4. Healthy Fats
Don't be afraid of fats—they're an important part of a balanced diet and can actually aid in weight loss when consumed in moderation. Opt for:
Avocados
Nuts (like almonds, walnuts, and pistachios)
Seeds (such as chia seeds, flaxseeds, and pumpkin seeds)
Olive oil
Coconut oil
5. Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt is rich in protein and probiotics, which can help promote a healthy gut microbiome and support weight loss. Choose plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt and add your own fruit or honey for sweetness.
6. Water
Staying hydrated is crucial for overall health and can also support weight loss by promoting feelings of fullness and preventing overeating. Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
7. Herbal Tea
Herbal teas like green tea, peppermint tea, and chamomile tea are hydrating, calorie-free alternatives to sugary beverages and can help curb cravings.
In summary, incorporating lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, Greek yogurt, water, and herbal tea into your diet can support your weight loss efforts and keep you feeling satisfied and energized.

Ways I get fruits n veggies in me:
- putting oranges and peppers on the counter where it’s easy to snack on while I make other food
- buying frozen strawberries for cheap to make smoothies which are cold on a hot day
- buying 100% fruit juices or 100% fruit popsicles so I have cold juice to drink on a hot day
Ways I do not get fruits n veggies in me:
- buying frozen veggies I don’t really want to eat because I think they’re healthy
- buying fruits I don’t really like because I think they’re healthy
- buying fruits or veggies which require prep time to eat in a way I like
- getting upset at myself for not eating enough fruits n veggies
Notice how the ways I eat the fruits and veggies have a built in incentive to eat them?
- peppers n oranges on the counter are easy to eat and require no prep time. If I want a meal, or I’m just I the kitchen, they’re easy to grab and munch on.
- I get bored and distracted when I cook. Having something to do with my hands, like peeling an orange, keeps me busy while keeping me in the kitchen near my food. And then I peeled the orange so I might as well eat it.
- smoothies and cold juice/popsicles work because the weather is hot and I already want to cool down. The incentive exists naturally because I like how they taste and I’m already looking for something cold.
- smoothies/juice/popsicles also have a consistent texture, which unprocessed fruit and veggies do not have. Texture is a big driver of what I eat or don’t, so having a pleasant/consistent texture makes me more likely to choose something.
If u prep ur own food and are worried ur not eating enough fruits n veggies, it might be time to go through how you usually choose what to eat and what’s blocking the fruit and veggie choices. Usually there is something that makes the alternate choice you make more appealing (including not eating anything, that is a choice that you make too).
Does having to cut/peel an orange take too long, so you pick the easily openable chips? That’s great! You have chips! But if you want fruit too, maybe get something you can just pick up and eat, like an apple or pear.
Does having fresh veggies sound great, but they’re not warm and you’re already freezing, so you pick the warm tater tots you can make in the oven? That’s great! You have tater tots! But if you want veggies too, maybe make some warm vegetable soup, or get a microwave pack of steamed green beans or broccoli.
Do you feel like you want to add more vitamins to your diet, but you don’t like the taste of vegetables or fruit, so you just stare in the cabinet and then don’t pick anything? Get something that has what you need that tastes different. Maybe that’s a supplement (talk to your doctor first, those still can interact with other meds or general health), maybe that’s a protein bar you like, maybe it’s chopping veggies up real tiny and putting them in your pasta sauce. It’s okay if it’s not the most “economical” or “healthy” solution; if it results in you actually eating more of what you’re trying to eat, it’s worth it.
This applies to other foods too; I need more protein in my diet, so I buy protein bars and oven-bakeable orange chicken, even if there are “healthier” more protein dense foods. I don’t like kale or beans, eggs and I are frenemies, and steak (my beloved) takes a lot of time and attention to cook properly. I need to drink more water, so I buy powdered lemonade and sparkling water. Maybe you hate chicken and protein bars and sparkling water and lemonade. You’re not me. What do you like? What do you need? What makes your needs more likeable? Go buy/make/do that.
