My Marauders Headcanons Pt. 2 ~ Sirius Orion Black
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loves sour candy
Isn't really sure if he's a pure blood supremacist or not
He'd like to say he is as it distances himself from his family but he's truly not sure
If you're close to him it doesn't matter if you're a muggle born, a half blood, or a pure blood but if you're not then he can say some pretty nasty things be it as a joke or not
Smooth mf talker
Oh my good
He has a very charming, very nice laugh
His voice is smooth but also has this slightly raspy roughness which paired with his accent is extremely hot
Would've been a momma's boy if he could've
Punk Sirius black
Can actually cook really well
Cherry flavored things are his bbg
Biased towards Slytherin's bc not only are they going to be at least somewhat like his family Slytherin house also houses Snape
His alcohol of choice is tequila
Sleeps naked
Will throw a fucking bitch fit if he gets too hot
He has back dimples
And regular dimples
He has really flawless pale skin aside from his face where he has a few moles and ofc his tattoos
He's very toned and lean
His first tattoo was a sun in between his shoulder blades he didn't know why but when he got home, home where it was always cold and the people there were too he knew. He'd gotten for James, James who was always warm, James who's eyes and smile always shone so brightly, James who was the center of Sirius world, James who was the sun.
He was kicked out after he came home from getting the tattoo; drunk, and high off his mind, and worst of all ignoring his mother. To say Walburga had disapproved of his body modification was the understatement of the millennium. Sirius didn't even care so Walburga decided to make him care
Contrary to popular belief this was the first time things had ever gotten physical, Walburga had decided to give him a body modification he'd disapprove of
She grabbed the knife off the kitchen table and made her way over to Sirius who was basically delirious with laughter before realizing something foul was bound to take place. He began running up the stairs but that didn't stop his mother before he could get too far Walburga had grabbed hold of his collar and began cutting. Sirius thrashed and cried and begged for her not to cut his hair but she did anyway, she didn't even care for the cuts she left on him as he tried to get her to stop
When she was done she simply told him he wasn't her son anymore
She wanted nothing to do with him
And Sirius begged for something he didn't even know what for
He doesn't like shaving but he prefers to be free of hair
He's French, Russian, English, and Romanian
He likes to paint his nails black
Sirius LOVES shiny things
Like they make him so happy and giddy
Sirius also LOVES his motorbike
His favorite article of clothing is his leather jacket which is somehow still in pristine condition despite the fact Sirius basically wears it in the shower he has it on so much
Loves jewelry
Winter is his fav season
His love language is actually quality time closely followed by physical touch
He's very affectionate after he loves and trusts you completely
Despite all the abuse he suffered with his family Sirius actually really misses his mom bc she wasn't all bad
Walburga suffered the same abuse as a child and after Sirius found that out it made things even harder for him because she knew
She knew what it felt like to have this happen and she still chose to do this to him
Sirius was actually her favorite son and one of the ways she would punish him was giving all her attention to Regulus whilst giving him the cold shoulder
That always broke Sirius and he'd beg for his mother's forgiveness and attention
Sometimes if Walburga was feeling nice and his father wasn't home which was rarely ever but it did happen occasionally Walburga would allow Sirius to crawl in bed with her and lie his head on her chest while she combed her fingers through his hair
Despite the affection this still hurt Sirius because she'd never look at him, and she wouldn't even acknowledge when he spoke to her. Never returning his declaration of love so he learned to accept her seldom affection in silence
Walburga was somehow even harsher after these times as she learned to view love and affection as a weakness
Chronic ice eater
Loves music
Extremely talented singer
His mother forced him to learn piano and he hates that he likes it
Taught himself to play the guitar
He has a little book where he writes out songs, he's embarrassed of them and the only person who even knows about it is James
Suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and James has been his FP for fucking ever
He also suffered from Survivor's guilt thinking about what happened to Regulus after he left
His relationship with James is way passed platonic but it's also not romantic either
He has very thin patience and gets frustrated quickly
Speaks French, Latin, and Russian fluently
Sirius hates labels
If you're his, your his
If he likes you, he likes you
That's just Sirius

i am here asking for your favorite fics (i can tell you have good taste<3) 🫶
hi bella!!! thank you for the ask<33
okay so i read a lot. When i say a lot i mean a lot. The amount of fanfiction i’ve consumed in the last three years is probably unhealthy, but what can i say really? I don’t have much going on in my life🤷🏼‍♀️
so going into this, i contemplated how i should categorise my favourites. Current favs? Fav fics per ship? In the end, i decided to simply compile a list of fics that i still think about weeks and months (if not years) after i first read them. Fics that punched me in the gut, fics that made me question my whole existence. I could probably go on forever with this list but i’ve narrowed it down to 10 to make the job a little bit easier for both me and you hahaha!
In no particular order:
The World Is A Violent Sky by anonymous
Harry Potter wants to die; Draco Malfoy wants to live — a story of life and death, everything in between and beyond — in the form of scatters of love and hurt like freckles of stars forming into constellations.
Crimson Rivers by bizarrestars
Regulus Black was fifteen the first time his name was called at a reaping. He's twenty-five when it happens to him again. A lot has changed in that time, and one of them is that he's ready to do whatever it takes to make it home. Nothing or no one will stop him, not even James Potter. James Potter has no plans to stop Regulus Black from making it home. In fact, his plans revolve around the opposite. He has his reasons, but he's made his choice to get Regulus out of the arena, even knowing it'll be the last thing he ever does. Sirius Black was sixteen when he volunteered to take his little brother's place in the arena. At twenty-six, without the option to do it again, he has no choice but to be a mentor to his brother and best friend, knowing that only one of them can make it back out. Two names called, a mentor on the verge of falling apart, and more secrets and grief between all of them than they know how to handle. None of them are prepared for what comes next, or how far they'll go to make it through.
Harry Potter and the Welcome to the World of Grey by @sobsicles
When Harry fails to keep his anger at bay and Voldemort possesses his mind, the events that follow lead him down a long road to realizing the world isn't as black and white as it seems. Chaos, hilarity, and tragedy ensue with a Dark Lord being honest all the time, a rival becoming something else, and a world demanding to be saved. Featuring frightened Death Eaters, deep conversations with a monster, Pureblood traditions being ridiculous, and the fight to do the right thing with no true options. Harry's life just gets more and more bizarre with each passing moment.
Art Heist, Baby! by @otrtbs
When James Potter answers a mysterious ad in his local coffee shop, the last thing he expects is to be thrown into a world of white collar crime, but how can he resist when the mastermind behind the operation has dark hair and brooding eyes and promises wealth beyond James' wildest imagination? He would do anything for that boy named after a star, including stealing millions of dollars of fine art.
Orion in the Sky by space_wingding
Draco Malfoy owns a bookshop in the Lake District. He’s also cursed. Enter: Harry Potter.
Berlin Angel by @de-sire-blog
Berlin is absolutely miserable in February. Or it’s just Sirius. Alternatively: A story of how Remus Lupin stepped into Sirius’ life, flashed his trademark grin, and reminded him that life is a beautiful thing meant to be enjoyed. No risk, no fun!
Stop All the Clocks (This Is the Last Time I’m Leaving Without You) by firethesound
Living with Draco was difficult; living without him is unbearable. But if there’s one thing Harry learned from the war, it’s that even when one life ends, the rest of the world goes right on living.
Dear Reader by @calamitoustide
never take advice from someone who's falling apart Regulus has been quite obsessed with this anonymous advice blogger Helios and becomes concerned when they begin to post cryptically to an unspecified “Reader” At the same time, he’s starting Uni and has to deal with his brother being back in his life and a certain boy he won’t leave him alone.
Starvin’ darlin’ by @showinalittlelife
The man suddenly drops the knife, he sighs like all his dreams have been crushed. “Oh, dear, I can’t eat you! You’re rotting! What a shame, thought I’d found a looker too,” he whines miserably. The thoughts in Evan’s mind are racing too fast for him to make any sense of them. He has so many questions—too many questions that are probably better left off unanswered, but before he can think properly, he opens his mouth and speaks. “You think I’m a looker?” or: Barty is a cannibal, Evan is dying and they go on a little road trip!
Running on Air by eleventy7
Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects.

a much too whiny rant about fic icks
I die a little every time pup, cub or Prongslet comes up in a wolfstar raising Harry (together or separately) fic. especially cub - it makes literally no sense????? are you sure it's Remus John Lupin I'm reading about??? it's his evil doppelganger, I'm telling you. I'm not even sure I could stomach that word ironically.
Prongslet is fine in moderation, I guess, but only as an inside joke, only coming from Sirius and only when Harry's a smol bean. but when it's Prisoner of Azkaban compliant I wanna claw my eyes out.
it's even worse when those terms are used not just in dialogue but in Remus or Sirius' internal monologue as if pup and cub are Harry's freaking pronouns or something. my cub, my pup, cub did this, pup did that... just call him boy or kid or his name for god's sake. I once saw sprog pop up and was delighted cuz at least it's actually british slang.
and don't get me started on Hadrian(us) James Orion Potter-Black (which is just... why the fuck would James give his son the name of his best mate's horrible father AND the last name of his horrible family?? and why would Lily agree to that?) who's simultaneously Lord Potter, Black, Peverell and Slytherin (and, sure, I have a visceral reaction to aristocracy wank in general but even ignoring that - the last 3 literally make no sense since "Lord Black" is Sirius until his death; and both Peverell and Slytherin lines bled into other families ages ago. so being a Potter automatically means you're descended from Peverells as well as being a Gaunt - from Slytherin. and the last of those is Tom Riddle Jr. but that wouldn't make any Potters "Lord Peverell"s or any Gaunts/Riddle "Lord Slytherin"s. those last names are dead. smh).
but, uh, this tangent technically has nothing to do with my initial complaints, it's just that at some point I started thinking of this naming stuff in tandem with nonsensical nicknames as they began appearing in fics together. which is a double homicide, truly.
and look, I definitely understand the desire to make Harry's original name something else cuz it fits nicely with POC Potters headcanon and Dursleys being racist dicks about it, but... Hadrian? I mean, it's not really a big deal when the fic mentions it being his full name but both narration and characters still refer to him as Harry for short - that makes total sense. however when after the name reveal Hadrian replaces Harry completely, it feels super weird and uncanny, making it hard to identify Harry's character in the story altogether.
although I guess you should all knock me off my high horse for being the biggest hypocrite ever, cuz I myself have a headcanon for Harry's name, even if it's less elaborate than Hadrian. also less Roman? that's another thing I don't get - if you want to create a better connection between Harry and his roots, why choose a name of a Roman emperor for a desi kid? since he's usually explicitly desi in all the Hadrian fics. so it's not that I have a problem with renaming him, per se, I just don't understand the choice of Hadrian.
for example, I recently read a fic where he was Pakistani and his name was originally Hami, which is a very nice idea, actually, and makes total sense for such headcanon. mine is Hari btw (हरि in Sanskrit), since I headcanon Potters as Indian, but I didn't come up with that name myself - just saw it somewhere a couple years ago and fell in love. I think it's actually a pretty popular hc now? anyway, it's closer to Harry than any other name I've seen and has so many beautiful meanings that resonate with what I think James and Lily felt towards their son. so yeah, I'm one to talk, boo me.
now, I probably should shut up since this rant has been entirely too negative already, but while I'm on the topic of icky names/nicknames I should circle back to wolfstar cuz gods know I'll never be brave enough to talk about this particular pet peeve in its own post.
Siri, Remu and Remy make my blood boil. Siri could be kinda cute when it's a silly childhood nickname from Regulus, but if any marauder or Lily calls Sirius that - immediate death. Si and Re are a teensy bit better in moderation and if used ironically, but still stab me in the chest. a couple times for good measure. the only somewhat acceptable short form of any of their two names for me is Rem, albeit with a stretch and only because it's an actual version of the name Remus in Catalan and Russian. I know I'm being way too dramatic about this (just like with all of my previous points) but I just don't understand the need to shorten their names. at all. they're only 3 and 2 syllables long and so mystical on their own that any shortening just makes them simultaneously more nonsensical and less remarkable.
both characters literally have established quirky nicknames in canon that you can play with and even shorten to Pads and Moons if you want. Sirius is not a digital assistant and Remus is not the main character from Ratatouille. stop this madness.
plus James is right there. his name has a ridiculous amount of diminutives - Jamie, Jimmy, Jim, Jam, Jem, Jay and even Jimbo if you're into that. why strip Remus and Sirius' magical names of their charm if you can have fun with common names? but I digress.
at the end of the day, my pet peeves are mine only and I should live with them in fragile peace. this post is a personal rant first and foremost and if you disagree, I'm genuinely happy that you enjoy the things I can't. fandom is a playground and we can all find some fun in different corners. I'd also like to point out that I'm not trying to take a jab at fic writers who use any of the aforementioned terms, names or diminutives. I'm only one person, so if I stop reading your work because of my petty biases, it's only my loss and not your problem. hundreds of other fans will enjoy it instead. so keep doing what you love and writing those characters however you want, it's your right!
so yeah, writers and readers - don't take it personally and have your fun! don't listen to me being mean! I'm just making my fandom experience way too convoluted for my own good.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 [𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚!𝐒.𝐎.𝐁]
A/n: Small drabble cuz I'm sleepy but wanted to pin this for later<3
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Sirius was much more than a simple 'gangster'. He owned many, many things, he was creepily rich, he was intimidating, and besides that and so much more; He was fucking handsome. He was a true Adonis.
He knew who he worked with and why. He knew how useful any certain friendship with others like him was for him and his self-built empire. A certain friendship, one who was side by side with him since the very first day, sadly had to leave the business for good. A chronic illness and an old body didn't go along well. Sirius knew his acquaintance had a child, although the topic always intrigued him.
He never knew who this child was.
This associate was very, very careful with sharing any personal information, to the point that Sirius even wondered if that was his real name. So when his partner announced that he was ready to retire and live the remaining years of his life with his loved ones, Sirius expected his firstborn to be the one who step in and take charge of what seemed a familiar business now. A business that circulated around drugs, guns, illegal and prohibited cargo, and so, so much more. With this in mind, Sirius expected (probably without even giving it a second thought), that it was a man. A grown man, probably one or two years younger than him. A grown man that was in fully understanding of his surroundings, of the role he was about to play, and who was he working with.
The moment he opened the doors of the old meeting room, which was being hosted at his former partner's mansion, he stumbled across a young lady, standing up in front the fireplace. The flames danced on top of the old oak wood, bathing her figure with bright reds, yellows and oranges. She was gorgeous. Wearing a deep, red wine dress with a deep slit in the center of her chest, exposing enough to tease but not enough to satisfy. Sirius drank her figure without any hint of shame. A part of him, the one who (wrongfully) liked to assume things, thought you were just the new secretary. It made total sense. If an old one was making place for a new one, it was expected that everything else was also new. Just to make things even.
The moment you turned around, facing him. Sirius Orion Black was one hundred percent sure, you were the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. And believe me, he had seen a lot before...
"You must be Mr. Black." Your voice was like a melody, the way his last name rolled off your lips made him wonder how pretty his last name will sound on a pleased cry.
"A pleasure, darling." He nodded and walked closer, to reach his usual seat and also to get a better look to you.
"Please take a seat, the meeting will start once everyone else arrives." You smiled, and that damn smile made the whole room a thousand shades brighter.
"I'll wait here, doll." Sirius said while throwing a playful wink at you. "Although, if your boss wants to keep me waiting a bit more, I wouldn't mind with you here."
"My boss?" You asked with a small frown. "I don't know what you are talking about, Mr. Black."
In that very moment, Sirius's former partner walked into the room, being helped with his cane. For a man his age and with the life he had been through, he still had his head up as proud as the day Sirius met him.
"Oh my boy! Sirius." Your Father greeted him with a handshake. Placing a hand around your shoulders at the same time. "I see you already had the pleasure to met my beautiful daughter!"
His daughter.
Needless to say, Sirius was dumbfounded. A daughter. A daughter his partner never talked about. Never mentioned before. A daughter he thought and assumed was a son.
"I know it's quite shocking, a beautiful and young woman like my lovebug, getting involved in such an awful and bad business." Shaking his head, your Father smiled proudly. "But she has prepared herself for this for years. And believe me when I tell you she's the smartest one around here!" He laughed loudly. "She's more than just a gorgeous lady, Sirius. Remember the catwalk operation we did six months ago?"
"How could I forget it." Sirius smirked at the memory. "Our profit was three times more than the average. And we didn't ran into any problems with cops, customs, or noisy people. I could argue with anyone that, by far, catwalk was our most successful operation."
"Well, guess who was the one who designed it." Your Father laughed again, his words making you blush. "My daughter has been helping me all this years undercover. Our work is not a safe one, and I'm truly sorry for keeping her locked in so many years, but she is my precious little flower. I needed to protect her one way or another."
Sirius locked eyes with you once again. This time in a whole different way. Drinking your image once more, now it felt even better. He felt ashamed of his early actions, it had been completely unacceptable from his part to just assume you were the secretary. But even though your Father talked wonders about you... He still had his concerns. Could a woman so young and well, inexperienced like you step in this world? A world ruled by wealthy and dangerous men.
"Mr. Black." As if you were reading his mind, you spoke, gaining his attention. "I know this change will be though, I don't expect everyone to welcome me with open arms. But I can assure you one thing." Your eyes were penetrating, analyzing him, testing him. For any words, any actions, any false movement. "I will not give up. That's not in my blood. I will make sure to bring this last name and this work to even higher steps." You took a step forward, your hand in the middle of your bodies, reaching for him. "And if you please, we will do it together, just like my Father and you had been doing for this years."
Sirius grabbed your hand unhesitatingly. Shaking it, sealing the deal. Partnering with you.
"I know you won't disappoint me, doll."

COVET - S.B
(Mafia!Sirius x reader)
Summary: due to your father being in debt with Sirius the only thing he sees fit to do is take your fathers most valuable possession
Warnings: mentions of guns, blood, mafia, kidnapping, being tied up
A/N: it’s literally 1.00am and I can’t sleep so I present this to you. P.S I listened to Mitski while writing this so thank her for giving me the patience to do this :) sorry this part is shot but I’m rlly tired <3 I haven’t proof read this !!
THIS WILL BE A SERIES
-
“Careful there moony, don’t want my present spoiled now do we?”
You recognised the stern yet mocking voice of Sirius Orion Black, your fathers worst enemy but why you were in his possession was unknown. The itchy fabric was removed from your eyes allowing you to adjust your vision to the sudden change in light intensity.
“Hello pup, aren’t you a pretty thing? I might just thank you father for his actions hm?” He knelt down to be eye level with you. He was beautiful you couldn’t deny it, with jet black hair and tattoos concealing every inch of skin other than a small patch on his hand which was most likely to small to adorn a tattoo anyhow. His eyes were distinctly brown, a brown you couldn’t forget.
“I have nothing to do with my fathers business so I really have no purpose here-“
“‘Course you do, ‘didn’t just get you for any old reason”
You knew by the sceptical looks the two boys above him shared that his next words wouldn’t be good. Your eyes flicked back down to his, a faux pout painted on his lips
“You’re gonna be my little hostage how does that sound pup? ‘Stay here until y’ daddy decides to pay up”
“And if he doesn’t?” You daren’t asked but the urge to know the answer was too strong to deny
“Then this world is going to loose a very pretty soul”
You could only hope your father would cough up soon or you’d be coughing up and it wouldn’t be money.
-
The next few days were spent locked in the same basement with the same meals being delivered every day. Tuna sandwich. Sirius hadn’t been down to see you nor had his wing men instead your meals were dropped off by a hooded man and you didn’t see him again until you were due another sandwich.
The sound of the basement door sliding open, metal scraping on metal could be heard as you awaited the arrival of help.
“That father of yours” Sirius tutted, removing his black gloves before pulling up a chair and sitting in front of you with his legs spread and hands interlocked with one another.
“It’s strange how he hasn’t sent anyone to save y’ yet hm? I took y’ in hopes it’d scare him into paying up but he seems unbothered”
He was coming to save you right? Right? Surely he wouldn’t leave you here you knew he wouldn’t. He couldn’t.
“He will come”
“I don’t know who y’ trying to convince there but it sounds like y’ trying to convince y’ self and judging by the current lack of attention he’s giving the situation I’d say it’s a waste of time, he isn’t coming”
-
Two weeks had gone by, two weeks living in the dingy basement with barley any human interaction but the meals had upgraded, it was now two sandwiches either ham and cheese or cheese and pickle along with an apple juice.
The life of luxury
You were still hopeful that your father would be coming but it didn’t seem likely. From what Sirius had disclosed, your father couldn’t care less. Talk about a stab in the back.
“Miss me?” The raven haired boy asked as he suddenly came down the stairs almost skipping as he balanced the food tray in his hands.
“Someone’s happy” you mumbled, the tray being placed on your lap.
“Mmm just a business deal that went through oh and the good news I bare just for you”
He reached out to untie your hands and allowed you to tuck into your food.
What didn’t go unnoticed was the fact your head didn’t shoot up in hope taking Sirius by surprise, it’s as if you’d gotten over the idea of being saved.
“You are going to be allowed into the main house as long as one of my men is with you at all times only because I really need this basement clear for some bastard”
You thought you’d died and gone to heaven when he told you, you were aloud into the main part of the house…would this mean you had better chances of escaping?
-
You’d moved into the main area of the house but you were restricted to certain parts and your room had to be next door to Sirius’s room so he could keep an eye on you.
Sirius had been gone all day and the house took over a dead feel as if you were the only one in it. The door shutting echoed off of the walls, you creeped downstairs to see Sirius rinsing his bloody knuckles in the sink and James pulling at his hair.
“Y’ ok?” You asked, finally coming fully into view. Remus tried to warn you off with looks but didn’t succeed.
“I’m brilliant pup your fucking father has ambushed my fucking base which may I add had all my weapons in and if that wasn’t enough he’s shot at my ships and half my shit is at the bottom of the ocean so yeah I’m brilliant”
In the heat of it all his hand swiped out and collided with the clear glass vase that rest upon the counter top, it instantly shattering.
“I swear to everything I’m gonna make that little shit pay in the worst way possible”
His dark eyes met with yours, a sinister smile taking over his face. What was he going to do?

“How many love letters have you written for me and kept to yourself?”
The question Sirius asked you nearly made your heart stop upon entering your shared room.
He was on the floor of the closet, kneeling in front of a small shoebox of papers you recognized as yours.
You stammered over your words, unable to come up with a response for the wide-eyed boy in front of you. You simply knelt down next to him, squishing your side against his. He looked at you as if you’d gifted him a puppy. “Y/n,” he whispered, flipping through the rest of the contents of the box.
“I couldn’t tell you how many I’ve written. I usually went to write them when I needed to process how I was feeling or say things I couldn’t say to your face at the time ,” you spoke, adjusting yourself to sit more comfortably, crossing your legs.
You reached all the way to the bottom of the box, pulling out a crumpled piece of parchment. “This, I believe, was right after our first kiss.”
— — —
“Words can’t even describe how I’m feeling right now.”
Sirius let his voice fill the room as the two of you stepped into the Gryffindor common room. You sat down on the couch nearest the crackling fireplace, side by side.
“Then don’t use words,” Sirius looked over to you, slipping his fingers in between yours.
“You’re staring again,” you mumbled, looking to your lap, your free hand messing with a loose piece of thread on your clothes.
“I like to stare at beautiful things.”
“Well now you’re being cheesy,” you laughed, shoving your arm into his.
You looked up to him, unable to hide the smile on your face and warmth on your cheeks. “Would you just kiss me already? You’re taking too long.”
— — —
Sirius cleared his throat as if ready to speak into a microphone, straightening his back. “‘My dearest hot, sexy, Gryffindor lover Sirius Orion Black—”
“That is not what that says,” you laughed and Sirius gave you side eyes, clearing his throat once more before beginning again.
“‘Sirius, you took way too long to kiss me—’ you know what, I’m not even finishing this letter,” he laughed into a kiss, the letter falling in front of you.
Sirius kissed you as if the world was ending. Like if he were to ever stop, oxygen would cease to exist. You pulled away, smoothing back the hair from the sides of his face. From just the look on his face, you knew he was about to—
“Did I kiss you fast enough this time?”

You always disliked Sirius Black. Or at least that’s what you told everyone who dared to comment on your constant bickering and picking on one another. But you couldn’t deceive yourself. You caught yourself gazing at the boy from afar, hands getting clammy around him, air stuck in your lungs.
You felt your face heat up around him, making your crush on the boy dangerously obvious. You tried to conceal it with muggle makeup and useful charms you learnt from your friends and so far, it has been helping, but your nervous state couldn’t be fixed, even if you tried to count from one to ten, even if you tried to think of awful thoughts. The boy had effects on you that no one else had.
Your families having an amazing relationship didn’t help in keeping a distance either. So, when your mother announced the Blacks visit, you almost forgot to breathe for a mere second. You rushed up to your room, dressing up into your prettiest dress, putting on just a small amount of make-up, before taking care of the mess on top of your head that others called hair.
It barely took an hour or so before you heard your parents greeting the Blacks downstairs. You took a deep breath and wore the coldest expression you could possibly manage. You knew Sirius would have a couple of snarky comments spiced up with his usually cocky grin, one that always took your breath away, so you composed yourself and prepared for the worst.
Walking down the stairs felt even more difficult as your legs slightly wobbled. When you caught sight of him, even the air stuck in your lungs, your throat dried out. You wanted to scream into outer space, scolding yourself for being affected by someone who never really had a kind word to say to you. Although he never really offended you either. You just mutually got on each others’ nerves.
“Darling, finally, come on down,” your mother ushered you over to them as she saw you heading down the stairs.
You smiled sweetly as you greeted Walburga and Orion, before you turned to Regulus, but when your eyes met Sirius, words didn’t seem to want to leave your lips. He wore his usual cocky smile as he studied your face, seemingly unbothered about the lack of greeting.
“Cat got your tongue?” he asked, snickering as his parents followed yours into the dining room with Regulus behind them.
“You wish, Black,” you scoffed, but deep down you wanted to run into a wall. You were not one to be silent, one without words, but Sirius’ presence often caused you a momentary brain damage.
“Actually, I don’t. It would get boring,” he shrugged casually. You tilted your head in confusion, brows furrowed.
“You can’t possibly tell me you wouldn’t be happy if I couldn’t talk,” you raised a brow curiously.
“So, I’d have to listen to my own voice at all times? I’d love it. For a short period of time, of course. But for any longer, please, even I’d go mental,” he pulled a face, making you giggle. It wasn’t a sound you often let yourself have when Sirius was around. You didn’t necessarily hate each other, but none of you really had a nice word to say to the other, which often led to a bickering session.
“And we certainly wouldn’t want that,” you added sarcastically with a cheeky grin across your face.
“Are you going to join us today?” Regulus arrived from the dining room, waving his hand to follow him.
You joined your families at the table, quickly diving into the food, trying to avoid any awkward conversation. As you looked up at Sirius, his cold expression and blank eyes reminded you of the rumours you heard about his relationship with his family. He was distant and almost robotic.
“Darling, how’s school been?” Walburga turned to you with a sweet, but very clearly phony expression.
“It’s been going well, thank you for asking. I’m certainly not going to be a potions master, but I’m doing rather well in all my other classes,” you replied with a genuine smile, feeling proud of your achievements.
“That’s wonderful, dear,” she smiled as she turned to your mother. “You have got a beautiful and very intelligent child on your hand, love. You must be very proud of her,” she added. Your mom quickly tapped her lips with a napkin, ready to answer.
“Indeed. She is making us very proud,” she replied as she turned to you and offered you a loving, happy smile. “But I’m sure you are just as proud. You have two amazing sons who I hear seem to do quite well in school and part of the quidditch team of their houses as well,” she added, the information you have shared with her finally becoming useful.
“Regulus is indeed doing very well. Top grades of his year and it seems he will soon be captain of the quidditch team,” she added with a proud smile, but then the conversation turned into an awkward silence as Walburga decided not to mention Sirius. As you looked at the boy, he was wearing the same cold expression, slightly more annoyed than before as he rolled his eyes.
You wanted to tell him to ignore his mother’s mean behaviour, but you didn’t have the right to. You didn’t know much about their relationship and you certainly didn’t have a friendship of any kind with Sirius.
Instead, you heaved a deep sigh, swallowed hard and concentrated back on your meal.
The dinner didn’t last long, soon you found yourself in the living room, sipping on a cup of tea, your parents having an utterly boring conversation with the Blacks.
“Mom, would you please excuse me?” you asked as you placed your cup and saucer on the table in front of you.
“Of course, darling, go ahead,” she smiled and continued her conversation with Walburga.
You stood up from your seat and looked over at Sirius who seemed even more miserable than you. It was clearly painted across his face that he didn’t want to be there, let alone listen to the conversation your parents were having.
“Mrs. Black, would you mind if I stole Sirius for a second?” you asked. The woman looked at her son, slight disappointment across her face, but then she nodded reluctantly.
“Not at all, sweetheart,” she shook her head. Sirius looked at you with a frown across his face as he stood and followed you out of the house, straight to the garden.
“Why would you do that?” he asked, furrowing his brows.
“You couldn’t look any more miserable sitting there,” you shrugged.
“Thanks,” he scoffed as he took a seat on a bench beside the wall. You sat down next to him, a slightly awkward silence distancing the two of you as you kept your eyes busy, looking around the carefully planted flowers your mother felt so proud of.
“You know, this is not the Black I’m used to,” you added as you grew tired of the silence.
“Why, what did you expect?” he tilted his head backwards, looking up at the darkness, stars lighting up the sky.
“I don’t really know. In school you are cocky, unpredictable and not to mention annoying at all times,” you scoffed as you remembered how many times you wanted to wrap your fingers around his neck and squeeze it, just a little. “But here you are like this sample boy. Quiet and well behaved, but most of all cold,” he grimaced at your words, which you weren’t sure how to take at first.
“My parents hate me, how else am I supposed to behave? I don’t plan to fuel the fire any more than it already is,” he replied with a serious expression.
“Well, I know my words don’t mean much, but if it’s worth even a bit, I prefer the Sirius I go to school with,” you shrugged casually, trying not to reveal your crush on him, but still trying to be honest. When Sirius started smiling, you couldn’t stop yourself from mirroring his expression.
“Huh, so you don’t hate me that much after all,” he snickered proudly, his usually cocky smirk painted across his face once again.
“I never hated you. I just can’t stand you,” you added as you turned away from the boy, trying to hide your blushing cheeks.
He leaned forward, attempting to catch a glimpse of your face, but you carefully looked anywhere except him. “Then why are you blushing?” he chuckled as your head shot up, looking straight into his grey eyes that seemed even darker under the moonlight. He must have understood your confusion. “Your ears are bright red,” he added with a cheeky wink.
You groaned, feeling annoyed both because of your own obvious behaviour and his impeccable sight. “I’m just feeling warm,” you tried to save the situation which earned you a sceptical look from Sirius before it quickly turned into a barking laughter.
“I’m sure that’s true. Especially because there are goosebumps all over your arm,” he chuckled as he bit into his lower lip, your eyes immediately focusing on his movement. You scolded yourself inside for your silly behaviour and folded your arms in front of your chest as you turned away from the boy, quietly sulking.
He took off his suit jacket and placed it on your back, his scent finding its way into your nostrils almost immediately. It was warm and soft, and it smelled like him. You looked at the boy with a questioningly raised brow, not knowing how to take it.
“What? I can’t possibly have a beautiful lady freezing to death beside me,” he shrugged nonchalantly with a mischievous smile playing in the corner of his mouth.
“Beautiful lady?” you asked, scepticism clear in your tone. “When in the last 5 minutes did I become a beautiful lady?” you snorted in disbelief, ignoring how un-ladylike it was.
“You have always been beautiful,” he added casually as if the words were more familiar to him than to you. You frowned at his unusual behaviour, complimenting each other was not something you often or ever did.
“Are you sick? Are you under some kind of a potion? Blink twice if you are,” you nagged him, causing a silent laughter to erupt from his lungs.
“I’m perfectly fine. You know, just because people don’t say something out loud, it doesn’t mean they don’t think it,” he said.
“Okay- thanks, I guess,” you tried to find the right words to say.
“Not a problem,” he smiled proudly.
Once again, an awkward silence fell on the pair of you, but this time you couldn’t possibly break it. His unusual behaviour made you feel wary and you weren’t sure what would be the best way to strike up a conversation.
“Did I make you feel awkward?” he asked, his eyes focused on the dark sky and the small little stars painted across it.
“I wouldn’t say you made me feel awkward, but I certainly didn’t expect any positive comment from you,” you shrugged casually, trying to play it cool. Your heart was pulsing loudly in your ears, your throat dried out, but you couldn’t have given even a hint of the effects he had on you.
“Hey, I’m not that bad,” he groaned.
“I’m not saying you are, but we are always bickering about some silly thing that I can’t even remember because it’s always so meaningless, so for you to say that I’m beautiful, it was certainly unexpected,” you explained.
“Well, I can’t possibly tell you how pretty you are in the middle of our little arguments.”
“Actually, you could,” you snickered, which made him chuckle as he watched your playful expression.
“Now that you mention it, if I used it before, you might have shut up quicker,” he snorted as he saw your face turn into an expression that clearly screamed how badly you wanted to hex him.
“You are going too far, Black,” you added.
“Isn’t that what we usually do?” he asked wriggling his brows, making you chuckle.
“What was that creepy move?” you asked, trying to silence your laughter.
“My signature move,” he winked. “Girls, love it.”
“Sure, if you want to scare them away,” you huffed, but you couldn’t remove the smile from your face.
“We could have done this sooner, you know,” he stated, making you feel confused.
“What do you mean?” you asked.
“Have a normal conversation without you getting mad at me?” he grinned.
“I wouldn’t get mad at you if you didn’t behave like a complete idiot,” you shrugged, your smile still hiding in the corner of your lips.
“Fair enough,” he chuckled. “But then how else would I catch my crush’s attention?” he raised a questioning brow. For a second you thought you heard it wrong, for a second you thought you were hallucinating. His words seemed too unreal.
“You what?” you attempted to word your confusion.
“How else did you expect me to get your attention?” he chuckled playfully, his own words making him feel lighter.
“Why would you want to catch my attention?” you asked dumbfounded.
“Have you even heard what I said?'' he laughed watching the confused expression across your face. “I will help you out. I just said I wanted to catch my crush’s attention. My crush would be you. Do you need any further explanation?” he chuckled playfully as your face grew even more confused. As if your brain was unable to process his words. Even your own brain couldn’t believe what he said. But your heart, your heart was beating dangerously as the words left his mouth as if they needed no further explanation.
“You like me?” you asked, clearly needing more to go on.
“I have fancied you since forever,” he smiled as he scooted closer to you on the bench. “I wasn’t sure if you liked me, you always got mad at me. But then sometimes you gave me these mixed signals and I couldn’t place it anywhere,” he shook his head scoffing. “Up until I overheard Lily’s conversation with James, and it felt like hope,” he raised a questioning brow, waiting for you to put the puzzles together, but you remained silent.
He turned his complete torso towards you, watching your profile as he tucked a loose hair behind your ear. You felt your face heat up, but you didn’t turn away. You knew you were exposed, but you still didn’t know how to react. You looked at the boy, his grey eyes eagerly waiting for you to say something.
“What do you want me to say?” you asked. “You already know, don’t you?” you turned away as you heaved a deep sigh.
“I just overheard a conversation, that means nothing,” he shook his head, disputing. “Look at me, please,” he asked as he gently got hold of your jaw and turned you back. “Do you like me?” he asked, wasting no time.
You wanted to say no, you still couldn’t believe his words. Your constant bickering has been ongoing for so long, that it just didn’t make sense. But then something had changed in you too. You didn’t know when you started having feelings for him, but it just happened. However, accepting your own feelings seemed more reasonable than his.
“I’m being honest. I do like you. I have for quite a while,” his eyes didn’t lie. He looked at you with a warm, loving expression and although it was hard to believe his words, his gaze couldn’t have lied.
You let out a deep breath as you composed yourself, preparing for the worst. Maybe it was a prank, and he was going to laugh, maybe he was just joking with your feelings, maybe he made a silly bet with someone. You didn’t know what to expect, but every possible negative outcome went through your head ringing an alarm.
You looked down at your lap, playing with your hands nervously. “I do like you,” you whispered, your tone uncertain and barely audible. You collected all the bravery you could find within you and looked up at him. A gentle, warm smile spread across his face as he lifted one of your hands and cupped it in his, warming up your cold skin. His genuine expression reassured you with a simple look at him. The whole boy seemed so happy, he couldn’t have played the part that well. It felt unreal, as if a dream of yours came true, but you couldn’t possibly feel happier.
“So, if I ask you to go out with me, would I get a yes?” he asked as his smile grew wider.
“I guess, you would have to ask me first,” you chuckled, making him huff playfully.
“Okay, so, would you like to go out with me?” he asked confidently and for a second you left him hanging, as if you were debating your options.
“I guess that could be arranged,” you replied which made him shake his head as he pulled you into a hug, his arms wrapped around your shoulders, his face hidden in your neck. As he pulled away, he stopped a few inches away from your face, his eyes wandering between your eyes and lips, his intentions screaming obviousness.
“I- Can I kiss you?” he asked, the unusual uncertainty in his voice making you braver this time.
“I don’t know, can you?” you asked back, clearly catching him off guard. But soon his surprised expression turned into a cheeky grin.
“Well, I could,” he smirked, but didn’t move.
“Then I guess the question is, will you?” you added playfully, trying to guide him to the right direction, hoping for him to finally make that last step.
“Would you like me to?” he played along, but this time you started losing your patience.
“For Merlin’s sake, just kiss me already!” you instructed him, huffing, both of you laughing silently, before he placed his hands on each side of your neck and pulled you closer to him, attaching his lips to yours finally.
As if you have been waiting forever, it felt like pure satisfaction, warm, happy and safe. Sirius felt like a safe place that you didn’t know you needed, but now that you were there, you couldn’t even think of ever letting go. You fit into each other’s embrace so perfectly, it felt like a dream.
Your body was sweating, your head was spinning as you slowly opened your eyes. A wet towel was carefully placed on your forehead which fell down into your lap as you slowly pushed yourself up into a seated position.
As you looked around you recognised the hospital wing of Hogwarts, the metal frame of the bed creaking as you moved around. You pulled the cover off your body and placed your feet on the cold floor, hissing at the uncomfortable feeling. But before you could have gotten out of bed, the door opened, and a blonde-haired girl walked into the infirmary, reading a newspaper.
“Marlene?” you asked. She looked up from her book and gave you a confused look.
“What are you doing? Madam Pomfrey said you should rest. You got hit pretty badly,” she added as she sat down beside you.
“What are you talking about?” you frowned in confusion.
“You got hit by a bludger and passed out. Do you not remember?” you shook your head in a reply.
“And what about Sirius?” you asked, clinging onto the only recent memory you could remember.
“What are you talking about? You hate Sirius,” she furrowed her brows as she watched your face fall.
You felt like you couldn’t breathe, like you have been kicked in the gut and kneed in the chest. Air didn’t seem to want to leave or enter your body as you finally understood that it was all a dream. A wishful thinking that you knew too well would never happen. There was no way Sirius would ever look at you that way and to realise it after you woke up from a dream that quite possibly felt like the best thing that happened to you in awhile, it was heart-breaking.
“I do,” you replied as you tried to hold back the tears that threatened to roll down your cheeks and reveal your well-hidden secret. You felt so stupid, so naive for thinking about having a shot at the coolest boy of the school, but most of all, you hated yourself for having such a vivid dream. A dream that you knew will always remain only a dream.

The McKinnons'.....
A/N: This story is for Blackinnon Fest 2022. Constructive criticism from the readers is welcome.
Warning: Swearing and language
Prompt no. 29- Meeting the family
This oneshot is not of Sirius meeting Marlene's parents... This is just a small portion of Sirius's feelings...
**************************************
Dear mum,
You won't believe what happened today!
Sirius asked me to be his girlfriend!!!!!!! Sirius, mum, SIRIUS BLACK! I am so so so happy.....It feels like Heaven wherever he is. His grey eyes look like grey oceans of love. His hair, oh his hair, its, its softer than that poofy dress you have. He-
Serenity McKinnon stopped reading abruptly. Her daughter Marlene was never the lovey-dovey type, let alone this....err...descriptive. Yes, she has swooning over Sirius Black ever since 2nd year, but this? Looks like someone's in love.
Serenity chuckled, she and Mateo ought to have a talk with the boy that has this type of reaction from their daughter. She went to show the letter to her husband.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Dear Marlene,
Dad and me are very pleased you have gotten yourself a boyfriend. We would really love to meet him. Me and dad hope you will introduce us to your boyfriend this Christmas holidays. Do invite him over for a day or two. Waiting to hear from you,
Love,
Mum
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sirius Black never thought that he could dread the arrival of Christmas. But, oh boy was he dreading the fact that he was waiting outside platform 9 3/4, after bidding farewell to his fellow marauders and making them promise to be present and honor him at his possible funeral, waiting for his girlfriend's parents to pick him and Marlene up. She was trying to comfort him, while trying to control her laughter (obviously not too hard). Finally, after what seemed like ages, though only was in fact 10 minutes, Mr. and Mrs. McKinnon came to get them.
Mrs. McKinnon came forward and hugged her daughter.
"Pumpkin! I missed you so much." She placed a kiss on her forehead. Then she turned to Sirius.
"And you must be Sirius, pleased to meet you, dear. I'm Serenity and ," turning her head towards her husband, she said," that is Mateo, Marlene's dad."
"H-hello Mr. and Mrs. McKinnon, so
p-pleased to meet you too." He stated nervously.
"Alright, enough chit chat, Sam's off to his friend's house, so let's go!" Mateo McKinnon spoke for the first time, with a smile.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sirius couldn't help but mouth, "Pumpkin?" to Marlene as they lagged behind her parents on the way to their car which earned him a rather too hard swat on the arm ("Bloody hell, McKitten! Even Merlin doesn't know how many hours I'm gonna survive after reaching your home and-and look at you, slapping me! "Drama Queen.").
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
As the car pulled up in the front drive of a beautiful cottage near the country side, Sirius became more serious ("No pun intended!" "Do not listen to Sirius people, pun is intended. It is meant to be funny after all.") than he had ever become. They got out of the car and into the house. Sirius was moving entirely on auto-pilot mode.
"Sirius, dear, your room is just the opposite to Marlene's, on the second floor. Marly, please show him, he looks rather peaky." Mrs. McKinnon said, breaking him out of his trance, smirking slightly as she said the last part.
"'Kay, sure mum." She said picking an apple out of the fruit basket and taking a bite of it.
As they reached upstairs, Marlene spoke, "Bad boy, what's going on?"
"What do ya mean, pumpkin?"
Marlene rolled her eyes,"Shut up! Really, what's going on, Mr. Sirius 'oh-so-bloody-damn-stubborn Black?"
"You wanna hear?"
"Yes."
"Well I'm worried that your mother might shag me not able to bear my sexiness. And then your dad might-"
"Sirius Orion Black! Tell me! And be honest." She added as an afterthought.
"Well I-I, you know, m-my family, your family, well you know, mine's all death eaters, your's so nice, so-so motherly and fatherly, well and mine, well, not so that. What if they hate me?"
"Of course not silly!" Marlene rolled her eyes at her boyfriend."Come on now, or mum might get suspicious."
Sirius smiled.

Flashback
A ten-year-old Laura hopped outside the carriage, after her brothers Rodolphus Lestrange, a tall and ambitious nineteen-year-old, and an arrogant fifteen-year-old Rabastan Lestrange. "Why do we even have to come? why do I have to come? I could've just stayed home" he groaned kicking a rock that rolled away. Rodolphus glared at his younger brother "Because you were asked to" he said through gritted teeth "Now not a word, Rabastan" he added before knocking on the door of The Number 12 Grimmauld Place. Laura stepped closer to Rabastan as she looked up at the handsome house.
They heard the sound of heels clicking against the hard floor, the sound neared closer and closer, Walburga Black opened the door. Her cold grey eyes didn't seem very welcoming as she scanned the lot, she then stepped back and gestured for them to come in. Rodolphus was the first to walk in, in a gentlemanly manner as he took the older lady's hand pressing a kiss at the back of it. "Father said he would show up before dinner, mother's been feeling a little under the weather since this morning," he explained. The lady just nodded no sign of any sympathy in her cold eyes, before confirming "But she will show up, won't she?" "Yes of course," Rodolphus assured the older women with a smile of fake assurance, which let me tell you no one could believe to be false, aye it is the Lestrange's charm they've got quite the silver tongue.
Then there was a sound of someone coming down the stairs, and soon Laura spotted Bellatrix Lestrange beautifully sporting a black lace dress. Rodolphus smiled at her, and a genuine one this time, he walked towards her handing her the bouquet he had brought for her. Which she took smiling a little, she then gave Rabastan and Laura a blank look. Laura had never talked to Bellatrix ever and Rabastan had once told her that she was a bit of a cuckoo. Bellatrix then took Rodolphus' hand guiding him up the stairs, Walburga couldn't help but roll her eyes but then she looked over at Laura and Rabastan. "Right then, you two," she said as she walked them towards the sitting room and gestured towards the couch "Have a seat," she said and they did. "Would you like anything else?" she said whipping her wand out and pointing it to the fireplace which instantly lit up with roaring flames. "No thank you," Rabastan said as Laura politely shook her head sitting back.
"Aunt Walburga I've checked on the house-elves in the kitchen, everything's alright down there." A beautiful brunette walked towards them, Laura's mouth hung open in amazement; the girl looked just like her about-to-be sister-in-law, her features just somewhat softer and kinder than those of her elder sister's. The brunette smiled warmly as she greeted them "Oh hey Rabastan", she seemed like the most welcoming and nice resident of the house that they have met so far. "Hey," Rabastan said smiling back, Walburga looked at the two and then said "Oh good then you can keep them company, I've got work to be done" and with that, she walked off.
"Mother!" a voice yelled as a boy ran down the stairs "Bella took a boy inside her room and shut the door in my face, I don't think she has any good intentions, I have a funny feeling about it" he continued as he descended the stairs. Laura looked up at the boy, who just landed with a jump from the stairs, he looked about her age. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Rabastan sitting beside Andromeda on the couch, his mouth was the shape of an 'O'. He walked towards them then tapped on Andromeda's shoulder who looked around at him, the boy then whispered something in her ear and Andromeda nodded in response. Rabastan sat up "You must be the eldest son of Orion Black?" he said; he never knew what was the right thing to say at the right time. The boy seemed a little offended that the stranger sitting in his house and on his couch; well technically it neither was his house and nor his couch, but you get the point, didn't know his name, HIS name?! He looked at him "Yes I'm Sirius Orion Black, who are you?" he asked as he proudly placed his hands on his hips, emphasizing on the 'you'. Rabastan chuckled softly before doing a little bow "I, Sirius Orion Black am Rabastan Lestrange son of Reinhard Lestrange" he said and then gesturing his hand towards Laura he continued "And this sir, is my sister Laura Lestrange". Andromeda laughed at Rabastan's dramatic gesture, whilst Sirius had only now noticed Laura, he looked at her for a hard minute then walked back upstairs after giving them a suspicious look.
Laura looked down at her shoes once he was gone, and Andromeda resumed her conversation with Rabastan, Sirius went to Regulus' room and peeked inside, Regulus was looking outside the window sitting on the windowsill. "Psst brother" Sirius trying to get the latter's attention, Regulus looked at him raising an eyebrow "There's a little girl downstairs," Sirius said walking in. Both Sirius and Regulus never really saw many kids of their age, Regulus climbed off the sill "What's her name?" he asked eagerly. "Laura, she's sitting downstairs with her brother and 'Dromeda on the couch. Wanna see?" Sirius said. It was indeed a tempting offer, Regulus thought carefully but finally gave in as he nodded.
Sirius gestured his brother to follow him as he walked out of the room and towards the top of the staircase, he carefully peeked down and caught a glimpse of the girl, who was now swinging her legs gently, looking bored. Sirius looked back at his brother and gave him a thumbs-up, Regulus took a deep breath. Whenever he and Sirius did something they were not supposed to; it made him feel daring and scared altogether. Regulus smiled nervously at his brother before he too peeked downstairs and towards the couch. Laura felt someone watching her so she instantly looked up, her eyes found a pair of greyish blue ones looking at her. Laura's face lit up as she laughed softly on catching the boy secretively spying at her, Regulus' pale face on the other hand was flushed with embarrassment as he was very embarrassed indeed, on being caught staring at a girl. He stepped back out of the girl's sight and frowned when he saw Sirius was shaking with laughter.

Reunited: Chapter 3
Cygnus Black definitely had a favorite, he wasn't the best father but he was certainly better than Druella when it came to parenting, for the most part. Bellatrix was seen as a disappointment because all Cygnus ever wanted was a boy to call his own, even though the poor girl did everything to please her father and mother. Andromeda was always quiet and kept to herself, Cygnus never thought of his second as a disappointment or disgrace because quite frankly she never gave him a reason to. Narcissa was much like Andromeda, the blonde had a liking to being invisible so it was rare that the angel of the Black sisters would have to face the wrath of Cygnus or Druella. Aurora on the other hand always had a goofy and kind persona, she never felt the need to go invisible and not be herself or beg for the attention of either of her parents, which is why Cygnus Black adored the raven-haired girl the most.
So when he overheard Walburga speak to Orion about Druella almost torturing his daughter into insanity all he could see was red, he loved his wife and would sometimes agree to the punishments she gave their children, but the only person Cygnus loved more than Druella Black was Aurora his precious little star, or so he called.
The black-haired man furiously slammed the door to both his and Druella's bedroom open, his wife sat on the couch with a cigarette between her fingers as she stared into nothingness.
" You almost tortured her into insanity!" Cygnus screamed slamming the door behind him, a bitterness crept on Druellas face as she glanced at her husband.
" That girl needs to learn how to behave," Druella spoke letting a tear fall from her eye, Cygnus rushed up to the blonde lifting her up from where she sat, pinning her up aggressively on the dark green walls grasping onto her neck tightly making the blonde gasp for air.
" You don't torture her to an extent where she could be driven to insanity, if I lose Aurora because of you I'll kill do you hear me?!" Cygnus screamed into the blondes face tightening his grip around her neck, his grey eyes watery as they stared into Druellas green ones.
" You wouldn't d- dare," Druella managed to respond her words barely audible from the tight grip on her neck, Cygnus let on an amused laugh that disturbed the blonde who slowly started to let fear consume her.
" What makes you say that?" Cygnus asked his wife who stared into his cold watery eyes, she then figured out that the man who stood in front of her isn't the man she married but just someone who looked like the shy man who said I do many years ago.
" Because you love me," Druella muttered her words making Cygnus expression soften, he let her go dropping the blonde on the floor, Druella held onto her neck taking as much air she could, Cygnus walked over to the door opening it but before Cygnus left he glanced one last time at his wife.
" Don't count on love, it can get you killed," Cygnus last said leaving the blonde alone in the room. Druella curled up into a ball laying on the floor allowing her tears to fall, she looked at her reflection on the wall desperately crawling to the mirror. Druella winced as she touched the marking of her husband's hand on her neck, she stared into her eyes crying with uneven breathes Druella Black a protective mother, loving wife, a broken woman, she was slowly falling apart, her perfect picture life getting harder to maintain by the day. She was lost, the woman who stared back was unrecognizable she had no idea what her life was to become, and that fearless woman who wasn't afraid of no one was now fearing for her life in many ways.
Cygnus walked across the manor to find his daughter, he reached Aurora's room finding Walburga pacing back and forth in front of the closed white door. His loud footsteps caught the attention of his sister who looked back at him with worried eyes.
" Walburga?" Cygnus whispered loudly slowly approaching the black-haired woman, her grey eyes held concern and nothing more, she was a vile lady but that didn't stop her from caring which was an emotion all Blacks learned to hide, at moments like these maybe it was appropriate to show feelings, yet that's showing weakness, and Blacks are far from weak.
" I'm to assume that you're here to check on Aurora?" Walburga asked Cygnus not bothering to cover the worry which laced in her words.
" Yes," Cygnus replied not quite sure what to make of the situation, his sister never showed anything but coldness, so it would be an understatement to say that he was surprised.
" I would like to know of my niece's well-being, so if you could find me after you see Aurora, that would be much appreciated," Walburga quickly stated rushing off to the direction Cygnus came from with her long black dress flowing behind from the quick movement.
A gentle knock was heard behind the white door alerting all the young Blacks of someone wanting to enter, they all shifted their gaze to the young black-haired girl who put on her brightest smile in an attempt of easing the tension.
" Come in," Aurora announced watching as the door opened revealing her father, the man seemed tense but once he locked eyes with his daughter's green ones he felt his body relax letting out a loud breath he hadn't known he held.
" How's my little star?" Cygnus approached the young girl standing on her bedside, Bellatrix loudly scoffed at the nickname earning a hard glare from Andromeda.
" I'm doing just fine Papa, I could outrun you in a race if I really wanted to," Aurora teased her father nudging him lightly with her elbow, he let out a low laugh playfully shaking his head.
" Rubbish, I always win when we race!" Cygnus boasted puffing out his chest and fixing his posture, looking down at the girl who held amusement in her eyes.
" Because I'm nice enough to let you win old man," Aurora revealed laughing as his facial expression dropped at the word old, the group around them awkwardly stood around the pair feeling nothing but envy at the interaction, though a certain blonde smiled brightly at her father and sister she was certainly happy that they had the relationship they did.
" How about we go and paint, what do you think little star?" Cygnus asked Aurora who nodded excitedly jumping out of her bed, she stumbled a bit from the effects of the cruciatus curse but the little girl managed to hide her weakness and masked it with an energy she didn't have, at a young age Aurora Black learned how to mask and hide things away, not for her but the benefit of those around her, all she ever wants is for good energy to surround those around her which meant that she would have to learn how to hide her true self, but everyone always has that one person who could see through their fake happiness and Auroras person was Narcissa Black.
Cygnus and Aurora left the room not before saying one last goodbye to the others, the father and daughter duo walked across the dark corridor into an art studio, when Aurora was younger she found Cygnus painting and from there, Aurora took interest in her father's hobby which soon became hers.
The studio was surrounded by painted canvases all that belonged to both Aurora and Cygnus, the artwork around them always had a deeper meaning than what caught the naked eye. Cygnus taught his daughter that Art should always have a deeper meaning than just art drawings of an apple and so on, the black-haired man believed that art is one way to express feelings, thoughts, a story, and observations. He always made sure that his daughter's art held a bigger purpose and each canvas the little girl painted always did.
" I'm going to start a new painting Papa," Aurora hummed making her way over to a blank canvas taking it to her easel and paint.
" Fine by me little star, may I ask what you plan to paint this time?" Cygnus told his daughter while he prepared himself to finish his own painting he started two weeks ago.
" You'll find out," she glanced at her father with a small smile before sketching her face on the blank canvas occasionally looking into the mirror she set up beside her.
" Papa, do you love mum?" Aurora mumbled not moving her eyes from her work, Cygnus stared at the girl in shock she had always been so upfront with him on many occasions but this particular question set him off.
" Of course I love your mum Aurora, why wouldn't I?" Cygnus answered going back to his painting not without sparing a few glances at the girl who took a while to respond.
" You two argue a lot, are you sure you love, mum?"  Aurora stated glancing into the mirror analyzing her mouth and each detail that came with her plumped pink lips.
" Do you love mum?" Cygnus returned with a question watching how Auroras let out a genuine smile that reached her eyes.
" Of course I love mum," Aurora turned to met his gaze smiling lightly before turning back to the canvas which stood in front of her.
" But don't you two argue a lot?" Cygnus sent a cheeky grin to his daughter who playfully stuck her tongue out at the grey-eyed man.
" Touché, Mr. Black," Aurora said nodding her head in amusement, Cygnus chuckled at his daughter's reaction before resuming back to his half-done painting.
" I heard you singing to Sirius a few weeks ago, I must admit I'm oddly curious where you heard such a song," Cygnus let out changing the subject unknowingly triggering something inside the little girl.
" You heard that?" Aurora dropped her attention from her painting instead focusing on her father, he rose a brow at the girl her confidence no longer lingering in her tone.
" It was quite a beautiful song, I'd love to listen to it, who's it by again?" Cygnus questioned glancing at his green-eyed daughter who blushed by his comment.
" I actually wrote the song," she shyly whispered Cygnus looked at his daughter not knowing how to feel, he had only heard a few sentences as he passed the corridor though it was enough for him to realize the song was made because of dark thinking.
" I only ever wrote it for Sirius and me, it brings peace to us," Aurora added trying her best to hint that he wasn't meant to hear the song, Cygnus had a worried expression covering his face recalling each word he managed to hear.
" And you relate to the song?" the grey-eyed man queried hoping he was wrong, Aurora simply nodded moving her uncomfortable gaze to her canvas.
" The shadows in your head, they've got you down again, got you feeling low," Cygnus softly spoke staring deep into his daughter's side, Aurora felt his burning gaze but instead kept her focus on the canvas before her.
" It's just words," Aurora remarked fiddling with the hem of her white dress, Cygnus didn't know what to make of the idea of his daughter or nephew feeling such away, so he sat there on his stool letting the silence linger once more.
" Songs are considered art, and art is not meaningless it always tells a story," Cygnus responded under his breath loud enough for the black-haired girl who sat across the room to hear.
" I'm aware Papa," Aurora said with tears brewing in her eyes which she quickly blinked away before they could get noticed and attract unwanted attention.

Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader. Sirius Black x Reader
Rating: M- smut
______
The next morning, James and Sirius were still angry over the whole Ambrosia kissing Regulus incident. Both boys waited for you to come down into the common room for breakfast. When you didn’t show, they shrugged and went down to the great hall alone.
“We have to do something.”
Sirius said, angrily. James gave his best friend a look before reaching out and grabbing Sirius’ arm.
“Can you not hit on her? She is having a hard enough time already.”
Sirius sighed.
“Look, Prongs. I get it. She wants Regulus. Y/n doesn’t want me...like that. I was going to apologize to her for being a massive dick to her too. She deserves that.”
James was clearly pleased.
“There’s my best friend! Why don’t you offer to go with her to Slughorn’s Christmas party tonight...as friends. Something tells me that she won’t be going with Reg.”
Sirius shook his head.
“I am not going to Slughorn's merry get together. I have a better idea. We’ll have a party. Just our circle. That will bring Y/n some joy. It's the people who care for her the most.”
James considered Sirius’ plan as they walked into the great hall.
“Great idea. Hey, Regulus is looking rough this morning. Let’s go spread joy.”
Sirius smirked at where his little brother sat with his group of idiot friends. Regulus definitely didn’t look happy. His face was sour as he kept glancing to the Gryffindor table for any sign of you.
“I like to spread joy.”
“You two aren’t spreading joy without me.”
Both Sirius and James turned as Remus ran up. Both boys were clearly pleased to see Remus running up to defend your honor.
“Moony, I was wondering where you were.”
Sirius said, happily. Remus nodded.
“I didn’t want Y/n dating him in the first place. I knew that this would be nothing short of a disaster.”
James elbowed Sirius.
“So about that spreading joy thing?”
The three boys wore matching smirks as they walked past the Slytherin table. Sirius was the first to stop. Regulus, Evan, and Ambrosia (who Sirius noted looked pretty depressed herself) all looked up at him.
“Bitch, jerk, and fruit salad. Hope you all are having a lovely day.”
It took all that James had not to break down with laughter over Sirius using Lily’s “special” nickname for Ambrosia. Regulus was on his feet with his wand out in less than three seconds. He was ready to hex his brother for even speaking to him that morning.
Evan reached up and tugged Regulus back down.
“He isn’t worth it.”
Evan said, sounding almost bored.
“You all are some mean little twats, you know that?”
James snapped. Remus quickly came in.
“I told my sister not to date you. I knew that you would just break her heart. It only took you two months. I was holding out for 5. Sirius disagreed. He said you wouldn’t make it 3.”
Regulus’ eyes had darkened as he glared at Remus.
“Go suck on a loafer, Lupin.”
Regulus didn’t curse much. That was another way that he and Sirius differed. Every other word out of Sirius’ mouth was a curse word. Regulus, on the other hand, didn’t curse. He considered it “beneath him.”
“Do you kiss my sister with that mouth? Oh wait, she just dumped you.”
James was about to make another joke at Regulus’ expense but before he could you walked up.
“That’s enough, boys.”
You said, calmly. As much as you didn’t want to, you met Regulus’ gaze. His face was screaming “I’m sorry” as he stood.
“We were just having some fun with these twat waffles.”
James said with a grin. He put an arm around you and smirked how instantly jealous Regulus appeared.
“Let’s go. They aren’t worth it.”
You said. Regulus finally remembered how to talk. You guessed he was struggling with words or trying to keep his raging temper in check.
“What about Slughorn’s party? You already have a dress.”
Regulus ignored the way Evan was smirking at him. Evan knew exactly what Regulus meant. Your mother and father spent a lot of money on that dress. It was money that your family didn’t have. This was yet another reason that Evan didn’t see you as a proper girlfriend for his best friend. Poor families didn’t have any business mingling with the upper class.
“I’m not going and definitely not with you.”
Your response was cruel and you knew it. However, you wanted to hurt Regulus as badly as he hurt you. You couldn’t help but wonder if he actually cared about you at all? You were hurt and irrational...misery truly loves company.
Boyfriends don't’ kiss other girls in front of their girlfriends…
Your mind supplied as Sirius grinned.
“I’ll go with you. I don’t really know any of those nerds except Evans and yourself but I’m free tonight.”
You internally smacked yourself in the head. Regulus was seething now! He pointed his wand right at Sirius and muttered a curse. Thankfully, Sirius was quick enough to repel the curse with an amused laugh.
“I’m not going to the party, thank you. Now let's go. This is getting out of hand.”
You grabbed a hold of Remus and Sirius’ arms before tugging them away with you. James smiled as if he had won some grand prize before following you to the Gryffindor table.
Lily and Marlene had been watching the spat from their places.
“We were waiting for someone to start hexing the other. Regulus lasted longer than expected.”
Marlene commented. You sat down in a huff. This was the last way that you wanted to spend your morning. You had all intentions of going to Regulus and ending things properly. If he wanted to kiss Ambrosia, he could have at it. So what if you were devastated? Clearly, your feelings didn’t matter to Regulus in the slightest. He couldn’t defend you against his stupid friends so why even bother with a relationship?
“The little git thought that she would still go to that party with him.”
James commented. Lily frowned.
“So, you’re not going now? Who will James and I talk to?”
You smiled at the offended expression on James' face.
“Each other, maybe?”
Sirius had kept his eye on his little brother who looked close to frustrated tears. This totally shocked Sirius. The last time that he had seen Regulus cry was when Orion was using the cruciatus curse on Sirius for breaking a window. Regulus was 8 years old at the time and sobbing in the doorway. Orion had yelled at Regulus telling him to suck it up. After that Regulus didn’t cry anymore. He just looked indifferent toward everything.
Maybe he actually does care about her?
Sirius thought, feeling a bit guilty about the earlier scene. He pulled himself from his thoughts and turned back to his friends.
“Better idea, instead of Slughorn's boring ass party, why don’t we all have one of our own. You know our inner circle?”
Lily shook her head.
“We have to go. These parties are a big deal. Slughorn will be devastated. Y/n just come with James and I. Yeah, it may be a little unorthodox but it can be fun.”
James nodded.
“I can dance with you both.”
You shook your head, giving them both a frown.
“Way to make me a third wheel.”
Sirius put his fork down and turned to you.
“Go with me.”
Sirius wasn’t surprised when you scooted away.
“Sirius, that is a horrible idea.”
He held his hands up defensively.
“We can go as friends. Y/n, I’m sorry. I know that I have been a real git myself to you. I know that you want Regulus and I’m okay with that. What I am not okay with is how he is treating you and how our friendship is going. We’ve been friends too damn long to let it go out like this.”
Sirius was relieved when you smiled.
“You’re right. We have been.”
You didn’t care about admitting that you missed your friendship with Sirius.
“That would be really nice. I would like that.”
It was cruel what you were doing. You knew that you turning up with Sirius would break Regulus’ heart. This would be Regulus having to face his worst fear...losing you to Sirius.
It really isn’t like that but it will appear that way.
Maybe Regulus would then see how you felt seeing Ambrosia kiss him. It was devastating!
That evening you sat as Marlene put the finishing touches on your makeup. She clasped her hands together before putting her makeup away.
“Y/n, you are so beautiful! It's no wonder that you have Sirius and Regulus fighting over you.”
You rolled your eyes.
“It isn’t as glamorous as it seems. Trust me.”
Lily walked in with a small box in her hands. She smiled before putting the box in your lap.
“This is from Regulus.”
Your mouth dropped as you quickly undid the cute little bow. What was Regulus thinking? Did he think that sending you some cheesy letter in a box was going to win you back?
“I wonder why he is sending me something?
You commented before reading the name on the box.
“Tiffanys?”
Marlene shrugged.
“Must be some kind of muggle brand? Seems kind of odd that Regulus went with a muggle brand seeing how he is.”
Lily’s mouth dropped as she scooted closer.
“Tiffanys if super expensive.”
Marlene nodded as it all began to click. Of course, Regulus would send you some over the top expensive gift. His family was good for it.
Your mouth dropped as you looked at the most beautiful pair of pearl earrings and a matching necklace that you had ever seen! This was the first piece of truly nice jewelry that you ever owned.
“Wow, these are beautiful. I can’t keep them though.”
Marlene jumped up.
“What are you talking about? Regulus wouldn’t have given them to you if he didn’t want you to have them?”
You sighed and closed the little box.
“He probably got them before yesterday and they just turned up. I can’t keep anything that expensive. Lily, tell Sirius that I am not going to the party. I have to get out of here.”
You ignored your friends pleading for you to come back as you dashed out of the common room.
Marlene sighed.
“Well, what do we do now.”
Lily silently thought for a moment before speaking.
“I’m going to get Regulus.”
(1 hour later)
You sat huddled in Moaning Myrtle's lavatory. Typically you would just sit by the window and look outside. Tonight, however, you didn’t even want Myrtle to talk to you. You went into one of the stalls and closed the door. Sinking down, you wanted nothing more than to spend the evening in tears.
The sound of the door opening and close made you stop. You couldn’t help but wonder who in the right mind was coming in here? Most people were scared to death of even crossing Myrtle so coming into her bathroom was insane.
You listened to the footsteps as they inched closer.
“Y/n?”
Your heart began to pound hearing Regulus’ voice. Putting a hand to your mouth, you choked back a sob that was still trying to go through you.
“Y/n, I know that you are in here. Lily told me so. I can also smell your perfume.”
You watched, from your place on the floor, as his feet stepped closer and closer. When the door tried to open and wouldn’t budge, he sighed. Regulus could see the outline of your body in the poorly lit room.
Regulus slowly sank to the floor on his knees.
“I’m sorry about yesterday. I never meant to hurt you. Darling, I know that you probably don’t believe me but I had nothing to do with Ambrosia kissing me. I wouldn’t have done it to hurt you.”
When you didn’t reply, Regulus slowly sat down and leaned back against the door. This was not how he envisioned spending your last night together before the Christmas holiday. Regulus didn’t know what else to say. He had warned you that he was clueless when it came to being a boyfriend.
“I love you, Y/n. Ambrosia is jealous. I never cared for her as I do you.”
“You’re better off with her.”
You finally replied. Regulus frowned.
“Why would you say something like that?”
“Your friends won’t treat her like crap or a second class citizen. I’m always going to be that person and you won’t do anything about it. I want to be alone.”
Regulus could see your hand within inches of his. He slowly reached out and covered your hand with his.
“I was wrong to let them talk to you like that. It will not happen again. You make me happy...she doesn’t. She doesn’t make me feel loved as you do. Please come out. I don’t want to be alone again. I’ve felt alone my whole life. Sirius left me. I don’t want to lose you too.”
You turned your hand enough to feel Regulus’ palm against yours. Pressing your lips together, you fought back another urge to cry. This was the most that Regulus had opened up to you since that first day of being a couple. He was clearly trying. Putting his reserved closed-off nature to the side and letting you know what he was feeling said a lot.
Regulus, meanwhile, almost cried himself when your hand pulled away from his. The moment that he heard the door unlocking he jumped up. Maybe you were giving him a second chance?
The moment that you opened the door, it took all that he had not to pull you against him. Your pretty green eyes were puffy from crying and your make up was ruined but Regulus didn’t care. You were beyond lovely in the silver dress that you were wearing.
“Come here.”
Regulus said holding his arms out. You didn’t need to be told twice before throwing your arms around Regulus’ shoulders as he held you back. Snuggling your face into his shoulder, you didn’t want to let him go.
“I’m sorry, love. Please don’t hate me.”
Regulus’ voice was gentle as he did whatever he could to comfort you. After a few moments, you slowly looked up at him. Regulus appeared as devastated as you were. Now he reminded you of the sad boy that you had also noticed walking through the hallways. The boy whose parents never said that they loved him...the boy that you needed and who needed you.
“I don’t hate you.”
You said before pulling him down into a kiss. Regulus’ eyes instantly snapped closed as he deepened the kiss.
“I could kiss your lips forever.”
He said as his eyes fluttered open. The two of you stood nuzzling your noses against each other while simply enjoying the moment.
“Would you like to go to the room of requirement?”
You asked. Regulus’ opened his eyes.
“Are you sure you want to give up your virginity to me now? I figured that I would be grounded.”
You shook your head.
“Now is a perfect time.”
Regulus wrapped his hand around yours and quickly tugged you toward the bathroom door.
The two of you snuck through the hallways avoiding teachers and prefects. Regulus held the door to the room of requirement open before rushing in after you and casting a locking charm. The last thing that he wanted was for anyone to disturb the two of you.
Meanwhile, you were looking around the room with a smile. A bed was already waiting for the two of you. Regulus’ arms wrapped around you from behind.
“We don’t have to rush.”
He whispered, pressing a kiss to your shoulder.
“I’m ready.”
You said, hoping that you sounded as confident as you felt. Regulus reached up for the zipper on your dress and slowly pulled downward.
“You’re beautiful. Y/n, you’re the only girl that I want in my bed.”
Where his sudden surge of bravery came from...Regulus wasn’t sure. He had been dying to get his hands on you for ages. From the first kiss, he wanted you desperately but he couldn't ruin your first time due to him being a horny mess.
You stepped out of your dress as Regulus turned you in his arms. His eyes slowly rolled down your body. Suddenly, you felt very timid in front of him. You quickly pulled your hands in front of your bra-covered breasts. Regulus gently pulled you toward the bed and sat you on his lap.
“Don’t hide.”
He reached behind you and tugged on the bra’s clasp until it was undone. You let Regulus remove the lace fabric and toss it to the ground. He smiled the moment that your bare breasts were visible to him.
“May I touch you?”
You nodded frantically as Regulus rubbed his thumb over your nipple before reaching out, taking the sensitive bud into his mouth.
“Reggie.”
You sighed his name, stroking his curls. Regulus groaned and lifted his hips enough to press himself against your core. You had quickly become aware of how hard he was with each thrust.
“Let’s get the rest of these clothes off.”
Regulus said as he began tugging at his tie and the buttons of his shirt. You, reluctantly, climbed off of his lap so he could finish undressing.
“Go ahead and lay back.”
He said softly. That overwhelming sense of nervousness returned. You swallowed as you gazed at Regulus’ body.
How is that going to fit inside of me?
You thought, nervously. At the moment, you were thankful that Lily and Marlene had told you what to expect the first time.
It won’t feel great at first. Burns like hell...but it will start feeling nice quickly if Regulus knows what he’s doing.
Regulus grabbed his wand and pointed it to your stomach to mutter a quick contraceptive charm. His eyes were all over your body before biting his bottom lip.
“I want to take my sweet precious time and have you begging for it. Put your legs up and spread them a bit.”
You quickly did as you were told as Regulus took his place between your spread legs. He leaned down for a quick kiss then kissed his way down your body. You sighed with each kiss but froze as he reached your belly button.
“Regulus, what are you doing?”
His eyes rolled up with a wicked little grin. He stroked his finger over your folds sending you into a wiggling moan.
“I want to kiss you here.”
His right hand stroked over your thigh.
“And here...I want to put love bites all over those pretty thighs.”
Where this Regulus came from you weren’t sure. This Regulus was more than sure of himself. Maybe you owed Ambrosia a thank you after all?
Regulus’ lips were on your thighs as he flipped his shaggy hair over his shoulder. In the candlelight of the room, his eyes seemed two shades darker. You fought back little moans as he peppered your thighs with butterfly kisses before finally biting down.
“Oh, Merlin!”
You squeaked as he sucked harshly at the tender skin of your thighs. Regulus smirked as he leaned back admiring his work. As far as he was concerned, you were about to be marked up for the rest of forever.
His eyes drifted to your core. From where Regulus sat, he could see that you were already glistening wet.
“Can I kiss you here?”
He asked, this time he pressed on your clit firmly with his thumb. Your hips involuntarily bucked as you nodded. Regulus slowly lay down on his stomach to continue his game of butterfly kisses on your mound. When you sighed in frustration his tongue finally made contact. You could have come apart but what he was going alone.
“Don’t come.”
Regulus ordered. You spent the next few moments hyper-focused on the ball of tension that was building with each swipe of his tongue.
“Reggie, please.”
You gasped.
“Regulus.”
He snapped. You smiled at the bossy tone of his voice and reached for his hair. Twirling your fingers in the silky strands, you couldn't help it. You came. Regulus quickly put his mouth back to you and helped you through your orgasm.
“That was beautiful.”
Regulus said with a happy smirk of approval before rising up.
“I’m pushing in now...just the tip at first. This may sting.”
Regulus’ voice was strained as he adjusted himself to your opening and slowly pushed inside. The moment that your body clenched around him; Regulus froze. He leaned down to feverishly kiss you.
“I’m sorry.”
He cooed. You shook your head.
“Just do it, please.”
You said through gritted teeth as each inch of his body pushed further inside. The full feeling didn’t ease up for a good moment either.
“Regulus, please.”
You cried. Regulus’ eyes were clenched shut.
“I’m about to come. Give me a moment.”
The two of you remained in the same position for a moment before Regulus nodded and shoved all the way in. You cried out from underneath him. Regulus quickly leaned down to kiss you gently.
“It's over, sweetheart. Tell me when you want me to move.”
You waited a moment longer as your body adjusted before raising your hips.
“Now, please move.”
Regulus quickly pulled out and eased back in. With each snap of his hips, you were again falling further and further over the edge.
“Coming.”
Regulus groaned through gritted teeth before sending both of you over the edge. Neither Regulus nor yourself wanted to move for a few moments. You lay lazily twirling your fingers in his sweat-drenched hair.
“Just so you know I can last longer than five minutes.”
Regulus said with a lazy smile. You giggled.
“I don’t doubt you.”
Regulus was the first to pull away. He reached for his wand and quickly cleaned up the mess that he left inside of you.
“This was a lot better than Slughorn’s Christmas party.”
You nodded, yawning as Regulus curled up beside you.
“Totally.”

power couple wolfstar
Okay so this is a little something I found in one of my notebooks. It's rather old, so don't be too harsh on it :)
»~«
Sirius Black / Remus Lupin
Oh boy, don't even get me started. These two were the source of so many heartbreaks when they (finally) officially got together in sixth year.
Because the unspoken rule of being a Hogwarts student was, that you were either in love with the godmade beauty that was Sirius Orion Black, or were hardcore crushing on rugged, curly haired, t a l l Remus John Lupin.
Nevertheless everyone ships it.
And Sirius and Remus are unapologetic make out sessions in the corridors between classes and soft cuddles and caresses during Transfiguration.
They are the need to always touch, love, admire the other because how didn't I see this before, how did we take this long, how do I deserve this.
They are talks about the meaning of life while sharing a cigarette at 3 am on the Astronomy Tower being interrupted by 'I swear, sparkling water is just angry water in my books' and the resulting aches of too much laughter.
They are the adrenaline kick of running through the trees on a full moon night and the soothing smell of a hot cup of tea the morning after.
»~«
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of their relationship :))

Merry christmas and happy holidays! This is for you, @ms-stony for @wolfstar-secret-santa . I decided to carry on an abandoned project and incorporate a little bit of accidental confession and a family unit with Harry. I hope you like it! :)
**********
“When this is over, we’ll be a proper family.” – Sirius Black to Harry Potter, Order of Phoenix
I took this line to heart and made it happen. A canon divergent where nobody died in the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange at the Ministry of Magic. Harry was back home to his godfathers on winter break and learned how they fell in love.
************
It was a calm wintry night at the Lupin-Black household at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place. Harry was back from Hogwarts for the winter break and the house became more lively than usual with just the two of them; Remus and Sirius. They had their warm soup, fresh sourdough bread and roasted chicken with gravy for dinner and everyone ate till they were full; stomach heavy with food as they filled each other with stories they had missed. Remus didn’t want to discuss the Order too much during this good time, so it was mostly Harry talking about his adventures and shenanigans he was up to with Ron and Hermione. A professor that he was; Remus interjected once in a while and gave Harry a warning shot when his story was about them doing something that were borderline endangering themselves, but Sirius always came into Harry’s defense. “Ah come on, Moony. Live a little. What’s life without a little risk? Isn’t that right, Harry?”  And the boy nodded with excitement at Sirius’s statement. He smugly smiled in Remus’s direction as he stuffed himself with more chicken. Remus shook his head, helpless, but there was a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. It was like having James with them all over again. His logic was outnumbered.
Afterwards, Remus made all of them a steaming mug of hot cocoa topped with marshmallow and he made sure to put a little extra marshmallow for Harry. The boy had gone through traumatic and abusive childhood at the Dursleys, Remus was adamant to make him feel welcomed and loved in his household. It was Harry’s first time returning to this place for holiday after Remus had properly moved in and he wanted to make Harry feel at home. He settled on the couch in front of the fireplace and set the mugs on the coffee table, pulling out the book he’d been reading. Like a magnet, both Sirius and Harry brought their own reading material and settled around Remus. Sirius had his head on Remus’s lap, lying on 2/3 of the couch whereas Harry sat on the ottoman, looking through an old photo album he had already seen few times before. Remus held his book up with one hand as he had another of his mindlessly caressing through Sirius’s tuft of black hair. They sat quietly like that for a while, enjoying each other’s company in comfortable silence with the sound of fire cackling in the background. Harry observed alternately between the two adults, looking like he was ruminating something in his head but yet to come with words to express it. Soon enough, he cleared his throat for attention.
“Hey Remus, I was wondering about, about something,” Harry’s hands held up an old photobook from Remus’s Hogwarts years. He could see a couple of photos of Lily and James at school, the Marauders line up, James’s quidditch practice, Lily and Remus beaming with pride showing off their prefect badges with a little smudgy handwriting that read ‘nerds’ scribbled at the bottom. At the bottom most left corner of the album was a photo of young Sirius Black and Remus Lupin with arms around each other’s shoulder in a half hug stance, head pressed against one another, blissfully smiling into the camera that their eyes appeared closed. “I’ve always heard stories about how mom and dad fell in love and got together, but I don’t think I’ve heard about…. yours and Sirius.”
The book Sirius was reading slipped on his face with a loud thud at the question. Remus who was clearly caught off guard by Harry choked on his own spit.
“What makes you think we’re together, Harry?” teased Sirius as he peered over the book. “We could just be an unnaturally close friends, you know. The kind that don’t mind living together, sharing beds and sometimes arguing like old married couples.”
Remus rolled his eyes with affection.
“Oh come on padfoot, I might be as dense as a brick wall sometimes,” exclaimed Harry with vigor, “but I can also see there’s something more than just friendship here! Okay maybe Hermione had to point it out at first. But I also saw how you guys look at each other and I would never look at Ron that way. I’ve seen it in couples at Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop before they snog each other into oblivion.”
Sirius barked with laughter. “Well we didn’t want to scare you off and make you uncomfortable, Harry. We plan to tell you when you’re older.”
“You must understand that it is not an easy subject to broach, Harry,” added Remus as he closed his book and stuffed it on the side of the couch. He continued running his fingers through Sirius’s hair. “Most people would avoid ‘the talk’, and even in muggle world they’re still scared to discuss and accept it. We have come a long way for sure, but bigotry, sadly, still exist. There’s this popular phrase they use – God said Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.”
Sirius huffed, but did not comment further.
“Well I’m not most people, am I?” Harry looked up; his burning gaze locked with Remus’s. “I’m your godson. Your best friend’s son.”
Remus felt warmth enveloped him with the acceptance. “You really are your parents’ son, aren’t you Harry? Lily was the first person who knew about us back in Hogwarts and she was so thrilled.”
“James was a little stunned to know about us though, right Moonbeams? Can’t believe we’ve been snogging in secret under his nose for the entire year before he accidentally caught us in a broom closet when he tried to hide from Filch,” Sirius grinned at the memories.
“That’s right, that was in our sixth year,” added Remus nostalgically. “But you actually made your advances at me earlier than that.”
“What did he do, Remus?” Harry sat forward, turning to face Remus to listen to his story intently. He put down the photo album in exchange for the cocoa drink in his hands to keep warm, sipping it from time to time. “Nothing too, er – explicit, please.”
“On our third year, Sirius actually let it slip that he liked me.”
Sirius hoisted himself by the elbow and frowned at Remus. “No, I did not! We didn’t secretly fu – date each other until our fifth year and didn’t make it Marauder official until sixth.”
“Calm down, Pads,” Remus pushed Sirius’s head back on his lap. “Yes, that’s the fact, I’m glad you haven’t forgotten despite Akzaban,” – Sirius winced at the mention of his twelve years wrongful imprisonment as Remus continued – “I’m talking about Christmas eve.”
“What Christmas eve?”
“Well it was on our third year Christmas eve, when we were the only one left in the common room of Gryffindor Tower. Initially all of us were planning to stay over the holiday together, but James’s mother suddenly fell ill, and Peter’s parents tempted him with imported exotic food for Christmas dinner. They bailed on us at the last second. Only you and me left then, and I too contemplated on going back home to my parents but I knew you would rather stay alone in school than going back to this house –“ his eyes wondered along the length of the ceiling and around the room, “ – to Walburga and Orion, to your parents. So I stayed to accompany you.”
“How noble you were, Messer Remus,” Sirius closed his book and put it aside as he pushed himself up to sitting position facing Remus. “But I don’t recall this memory.”
He chuckled. “I doubt you would. You were sick and drowsy half the time. Have you no recollection at all?”
Sirius scratched his beard, frowning. “No. I didn’t do anything bad to you, did I?”
“On the contrary, I was the one who did you harm, Sirius,” he patted Sirius’s hand and left it there. “You suddenly came down with flu that very evening but refused to go disturb Madam Pomfrey because you said she’s human and need holiday with her family too, so I gave you muggle cough syrup my mother had packed for me at the beginning of the year.”
“And?” Harry exchanged curious look with Sirius, equally excited to know the rest.
“And, well, let’s just say, you should be glad you’re not a muggle. You see, probably because your body is not used to it, the medicine had more affect than just drowsy. It made you braver, more honest, more raucous than usual. Like a drunkard. It turned off your brain filter for a couple of hours before you succumbed to the drowsiness and slept through the night.”
“Hmmm. And what did I do in that few hours, Moony?”
“You took down one of Gryffindor’s wall flags and put it on as a cape, climbed on the furniture in the common room as you declare to the world that you’d protect me and the marauders against animals, aliens, wizards and muggles alike, even if you had to die while doing so. You tried to fight the lion statue in the common room using a ruler, Sirius. All because I was laughing at your antics too much and stumbled against the poor statue, you thought it was hurting me. Imagine you stabbing a stone with plastic ruler until it bent and break. You cried because your sword was broken. It was sweet of you, really.”
Sirius was giddy with laughter. Remus continued his story. “When I managed to pull you away, you turned to look at me, face inches away from my own. You stared into my eyes and went still for a moment, told me you like me more than you like warm soup on winter evening, assured me that I’m the most beautiful person on earth, squished my cheeks and ….well, we kissed. It was more of a quick peck on the lips, but we were thirteen years old then and it was a big deal. But you were …under the influence of cough syrup. I was happy it happened but quick to dismiss it. I’ve never told a soul about this until now. And to think about it, I probably slowly fell for you after that incident, eventually became completely besotted in our fifth year.”
Sirius laced their fingers and raised it to his lips to kiss Remus’s knuckle. Remus was slightly nervous at the openly displayed affection he was having with Sirius in the presence of other people, but he realized how silly it was to think that way as Harry was impassive to the action, draining the last of his hot drink in the cup. “You were closer with James since the beginning, Sirius, but with me… after that incident I noticed how protective you were of me. Probably without you realizing it. Always up for a dog fight with people who teased me at school. It was you who always stayedback to watch over me after a nasty transformation. Last one to go and first one to arrive around the full moon. Patched my bloodied body and learned some spells from Madam Pomfrey to mend simple wounds and broken bones. The first to suggest to the others to learn a branch of difficult magic and transform into animal to ease my transformation. Even before we were involved romantically, you’ve always been looking after me.”
“And I’ll do it again in a heartbeat,” Sirius cupped his cheek. “Harry, close your eyes lad.”
After being certain that their godson had closed his eyes, Sirius pressed his lips against Remus’s, soft and gentle but with firm assurance. His warm hands slid down Remus’s neck and further down to pull him closer by the collar of his jumper as the kiss deepened. Remus mirrored him and did the same, crumpling Sirius’s shirt in his hands. It was Harry’s loud throat clearing that they broke apart, slightly ashamed for losing control in front of a kid. Harry peeked in between his fingers to see if it was safe for him to open his eyes again. “Please save it for later Moony, Padfoot. When I’m dead asleep and can’t hear a thing.”
“Well,” Sirius tried to sound casual as he straightened his shirt, “if there’s one thing that’s changed since then, is the fact that I no longer dread to be here in this house on Christmas holiday. I have a family now,” he beamed alternately between Remus and Harry, sounding terribly fond.
Harry was taken aback by Sirius’s words but was quick to snap out of it. He couldn’t contain his joy shot up from his seat, depositing himself on the couch between Remus and Sirius. The boy threw both of his arms around their shoulders and pulled them close, grinning from ear to ear. “That’s right, we’re a family!”
In the time of an impending war loomed over them, Remus couldn’t thank Merlin enough for his stroke of luck to have had Harry and Sirius in his life. All the darkness he went through in his life felt worth it now that he was here in this moment with them, like the presence of light at the end of a tunnel.  For a first time in a very long time, he look forward for the future; to more time with Sirius, with Harry. Remus echoed under his breath; a smile stretching across his face.
“A family.”

The hundreds of fluttering wings entering the Great Hall cut off everyone’s conversations as they excitedly waited for whatever mail they might be expecting.
(Y/N)’s parents were busy on business trips as they had described in their previous letter, so she stayed focused on the delicious pancakes in front of her. Sweet, fluffy pancakes-her mind seemed to have gone numb because Lily was practically shoving her to the point where she could fall off of her seat. “Oi, Earth to (Y/N)!”
Finally snapping out of her daydreaming state, she turned to the redhead that glared fondly in her direction. “Something’s arrived for you, you were too braindead to notice.” (Y/N) pouted in response but took the piece of parchment from Lily’s outstretched hand.  Marlene attempted at peeking over her friend’s shoulder, trying to see the contents of the letter. Her actions didn’t go without (Y/N)’s notice, who blocked Mar’s view. A familiar fancy yet rushed handwriting filled the paper.
“Dear my darling dove,
I stole some parchment from Moony, I’ll have to be quick about this so I can send it before he murders me. I heard you talking to Evans about how you think getting sent love notes and letters is romantic, so I thought I’d start surprising you with some. I’m going to guess you smiled at that comment. Merlin, imagining it is making me want to see you already. Your smile is the only thing I continue living for, really. I got a little cheesy there, didn’t I? I’m not the best at writing but I want to make you feel like you’re loved, like you’re special. Being with you is one of the most wonderful things that’s happened to me, you’re truly the light of my life. Shit, I think I hear Moony. Going to have to cut this letter short, love. I promise the next ones will be worthy for a goddess like you.
Sincerely,
Your favorite Gryffindor”
There was a smile spread on (Y/N)’s face as she finished reading and looked over to a beautiful pair of grey eyes, the usual smirk on her boyfriend’s face. Sirius seemed to be satisfied with himself, winking over at her. Such a simple action but it sent butterflies coursing through her. The things that boy did to her. It will be one hell of a ride if he planned on sending more of those.
She then became suddenly aware of the giggle fits next to her as well as how dumb her loving expression must’ve looked to those around her. Marlene snickered. “I don’t think you need to tell us who it’s from anymore.”
                                                          - - -
Sirius had certainly lived up to the idea of sending love letters. He hadn’t missed a day so far. He’d sometimes even send more than one. However cheesy or cliché they were, she loved receiving them, nonetheless. She started to laugh softly to herself, remembering the rant he had went on during one of the letters about how he was certain Prongs secretly wanted him and not Lily.
The weather outside was perfect. The warm sun wasn’t too intense, and a gentle breeze made the grass fly in the wind. A great day to work on Potions homework.
(Y/N) sat herself under a tree that provided her with shade, the same tree she and Sirius would usually cuddle under until getting scolded for being out after curfew. Grinning at the thought, she opened up her Potions book, dipped her quill in some ink and got to work.
Meanwhile, Sirius looked down upon her from the Owlery, admiring who he perceived as the most beautiful girl to ever exist. Letting out a love-sickened sigh, he leaned his head on the palm of his hand. He had started to forget the purpose of his trip when (Y/N)’s owl began pecking him lightly, an annoyed expression on their face. “Gah, okay, okay, you can stop now! Mangy bird.” He grumbled, scribbling words onto the parchment he had brought with him. (O/N) looked none too happy at his words, making their point clear as they poked him slightly hard on the head. Sirius scowled playfully in return. “I hear you, just let this dry for a moment.” During his waiting time, he decided to look out at where his girlfriend was again.
Some time passed by and stretching her arms up, (Y/N) realized that the sun had begun to set and that she’d been sitting out there for quite a while now. She took a moment to take in the scenery around her before packing up her things. The way the water out on the Black Lake glistened under the descending light especially caught her attention. She stared at her gorgeous surroundings until her eyelids began to droop.
Startled awake, she realized her owl was nuzzling her arm affectionately in hopes of her noticing them. She smiled, petting them gently and then taking the parchment they were holding out to her. “Another letter from Sirius, no doubt.” She thought aloud. Unrolling the paper, she began reading.
“Good evening, angel,
I can see you from the Owlery. That makes me sound like a creep, but I can’t erase it. You look so pretty today. Well, you’re gorgeous every day. Breathtaking, honestly. You’ll probably have such a cute blush while reading this. Maybe I should make it a goal of mine to get you bright, Gryffindor red. You look so concentrated on that Potions essay that I forgot about, which you’ll scold me for later. I love you so much. You’re so dedicated and passionate in everything you do. You’re so diligent and curious to learn more. Godric, the things you do to me. Remus poked fun at me for becoming soft, he even asked how I was able to see with all the hearts in my eyes. But how can I not be this in love when I have you? The most wonderful, intelligent woman in all of Hogwarts and you’re somehow mine. I just want to sing my love out to the whole WORLD. I can already hear you calling me dramatic, but that’s my middle name, doll. No, it is not Orion. Or Onion as Evans misread it. Anyway, you’ll be heading to bed by the time you read this, so I won’t make this too long.
Take care,
Your lovestruck boyfriend”
Chuckling to herself, (Y/N) bit her bottom lip to try and stop her smile from going across her whole face. (O/N) nudged her teasingly, to which she rolled her eyes. “You have no right to comment, I saw you eyeing an owl last week when I went to visit you.” (O/N) turned suddenly shy and tried to hide their face while their owner started cracking up.
                                                         - - -
Sirius nervously adjusted his black tie as he waited at the bottom of the stairway for (Y/N), thinking back on the past years they’ve experienced at Hogwarts. 7th year had finally come, and they’d all be graduating in a few days. They’d have to determine their future, but for now, they’d have a joyous time at their final school dance.
Speaking of, Lily and Marlene just walked down, which snapped Sirius out of his train of thought. Mar’ started making a trumpet impression before she began to speak. “Make way for our glorious and precious princess that I’ll continue to protect after school is over, (Y/N) (L/N)!” Lily covered her mouth to muffle her laughter as her dramatic friend did jazz hands.
Bashfully, (Y/N) stepped out from behind the wall she was using to not be seen and made eye contact with Sirius. His loving gaze admired her, and she couldn’t decide whether she felt more comfortable due to his presence or if she wanted to cover her face in fear that everyone would see her crimson cheeks. He then made it even harder to choose when he pulled out that charming smile on her, the one that just made her heart leap out of her chest.
“You look stunning, love.” He mused as she carefully walked down and over to him. The blush on her face intensified. “You don’t look so bad yourself, Sirius.”
Letting out a low chuckle that sent shivers down her spine, he held out an arm to her. “May I escort the beautiful princess to her ball?” (Y/N) accidentally let out a giggle at his extravagant act, mentally scolding herself for becoming a young teen for a moment. “Of course.” She responded as she wrapped her own arm under and around his. They stepped into the giant room that had been prepared for the students’ final, special night.
Everyone involved in the decoration certainly went all-out. A beautiful yet blinding chandelier hung from the ceiling, highlighting the dance floor. There were rows of tables with white cloth covering them stood off to the side. They had been filled with over a dozen entrée options to suit everyone’s tastes. The ribbons and balloons were gorgeous shades of blue and white. James had suspected they might’ve used the same decorations from the winter festivities, but everyone paid him no mind.
However, despite the effort that had been put in towards the way this ball looked, Sirius couldn’t help but stare at (Y/N) the whole time. The way her outfit of choice fit her just right and how the moonlight along with the chandelier brought out her eyes. She was like a magnet, pulling Sirius ever closer to the brink of madness. He often jokingly wondered whether she was part Veela in disguise.
“You going to stare holes through me all night or are you going to ask me to dance?” (Y/N) grinned at him.
Laughing softly, he took her hand in his and placed a gentle kiss upon it. “Right, how rude of me. Would you care for a dance, my love?” Giddily, she nodded.
Truth be told, Sirius had been forced by his mother to learn how to waltz, even if he didn’t have an interest in finding out how to do it. When he and (Y/N) got closer, she had made the off-hand comment that she didn’t know how to do the elegant dance, so he then became her tutor. He couldn’t help but thank the stars for having given him such a great opportunity to use the otherwise unneeded skill.
Now, here they were, gliding across the practically glittering floor. Some people watched in awe, but to them, they were the only two people that existed in this moment. The only people to have ever lived. The only people that mattered.
As they looked into each other’s eyes, they shared a mutual thought: they would never leave the other’s side.
After a while of quiet dancing, (Y/N) decided to speak up and break the silence. “It’s so weird to believe that…we’re going to be leaving this place, you know? Hogwarts has just always been a second home to me - to all of us.” Sirius nodded in agreement and hummed to himself before responding, “It’s really a strange concept, isn’t it?” He twirled her in between thoughts. “I mean, we came here when we were eleven. Merlin, my hair was so bad-”
Laughing, (Y/N) subconsciously twirled a piece of his hair between her fingers. “I don’t know, I think you looked quite cute.” Her laughter only continued when Sirius reacted with a disgusted look. “I’m sure my younger self appreciates the compliment but please don’t sneak into my bedroom at night and give me a haircut.” This only caused them to share a laugh together.
Smiling, (Y/N) decided to ask him something, “Hey, since our school lives are over, does this mean it’s the end of your endless letters?”
At this, Sirius suddenly looked a little nervous, which was rare. She tilted her head curiously at his behavior. “Sirius? Is something wrong?”
“No, no, nothing is wrong. I’m just…thinking of the right words to say, I guess.” He chuckled to himself, rolling his bottom lip between his teeth. “About those…I actually have one last letter I’d like you to read.” He started to reach for something in the pocket of his blazer and took up a folded sheet of parchment. (Y/N) made a motion to take it but he held it up too high for her to take. “Ah, ah, ah. I want you to read it in a more secluded area. You know, where people aren’t constantly twirling around us.” She laughed softly and they walked nearer to a window away from the dancing.
Sirius now handed over the paper, letting her gently unfold it. While her eyes went over all the words, he started fumbling with something else that was in his pocket.
“My love,
I write this to you in hopes that you’ll see how much I simply adore you. It’s the end of our last year here. There are so many fond memories tied to this place, many of which involve you. I could never imagine a life where I didn’t meet you. You’re so perfect and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I know I have flaws and I definitely don’t deserve you, but if you’ll have me, I want to be with you forever. I want to hold you close every moment I can and feel your soft hair in my hands. I want to protect you with my whole being and know you’re safe by my side. You’re my everything, (Y/N).
Will you marry me?”
Her eyes went wide as she reread that last line in her head. She turned to see Sirius but found she had to look down. He had gotten down on one knee, holding the box open, his eyes full of love for the woman in front of him but also tinted with a bit of worry. The biggest grin filled (Y/N)’s face as she nodded vigorously and lowered herself to the floor to hug him. “Yes, yes, of course I will you big dufus!” Sirius looked taken aback by the sudden gesture, almost falling back, but he smiled softly and hugged her back.
After holding each other for almost a minute, they stood up and Sirius slid the ring onto her finger. Making sure it was on perfectly, he moved her hand close and kissed it. (Y/N) admired the symbol of her new life. Not because of its beauty, although Sirius did make sure to pick out the best he could find, but because of what it meant for their future. Their future that they’d live out together.
“…so, I hope you’re ready for a new stream of letters dedicated to my lovely wife-”
    “Oh Merlin, Sirius!-”

One Pure, Loving Sacrifice
Or: a different way October 31st, 1981 might have gone.
Read on ao3
“Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him off-”
She couldn’t hear any words after that, Lily ran on pure instinct, snatching her beautiful baby boy and sprinting up the stairs and through the nursery door without a glance backwards. Depositing Harry into the crib, Lily gripped the frame for just a moment to compose herself before reaching for her wand. There were protective wards on the nursery door, but they had to be activated with a simple spell.
No.
Her eyes closed in horror when she felt only fabric, no trace of willow.
“Gween!” Lily heard from behind her and her eyes snapped open again in time to see the fading outline of green residual magic, almost a halo around the closed door.
Hearing the following thud made her chest feel like it might cave in. A wave of grief physically pushed her backward, leaving her leaning against Harry’s crib, struggling to breathe.
She had a strange metallic taste in her mouth, it was almost like magic, magic so powerful she could almost bite through it. She was probably imagining it, but she could have sworn she almost felt a hand brush her cheek.
She didn’t have time. There had to be a way to get them out of here, maybe she could make an emergency portkey wandlessly, or—
The door blew off its hinges.
“Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry!”
“Stand aside, you silly girl . . . stand aside now.”
“Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead—”
“This is my last warning—”
“Not Harry! Please . . . have mercy . . . have mercy. . . . Not Harry! Not Harry! Please— I’ll do anything— ”
“Stand aside. Stand aside, girl!”
Something moved Lily, it felt as though a firm shove had pushed her a few inches to her right, but it had been enough, just enough. The intense magic of the Killing Curse just brushed a few strands of Lily’s hair, but the proximity of that raw power was enough to throw her violently into the armoire.
She only barely had time to raise her head and begin to reach desperately towards what remained of her family before another intense green light overwhelmed the room.
Only this time, as the magic began to fade a burst of golden, raw, energy burst from the fading green. It would have been beautiful if it hadn’t been terrifying.
Lily was already unconscious as the armoire collapsed on top of her.
Harry was crying.
“James, gerroff me. I’ll go get him.” Lily tried to turn slightly and push her sleeping, dead weight of a husband off of her, but James hadn’t just rolled over and thrown his arm over her this time, his whole body weight was on top of her. Merlin he was so heavy.
“Harry? Oh, Merlin Harry! Come here, up you come Prongslet. Oh, Merlin. Your alright.”
What was Sirius doing here? Lily let out a little grunt of frustration at James, who was just not budging. He has a lot of practice sleeping through Sirius’s outbursts Lily supposed.
“Who's there?” Sirius must have heard her shifting because she could hear him shift Harry to his other side and unsheath his wand wearily.
Confused, Lily finally opened her eyes, not to find herself in her bed underneath her lump of a husband, but rather on the floor underneath splinters of wood mixed with baby clothes. “Siri-” her voice hitched with a pain she hadn’t even processed yet.
“Bloody shit balls, Lily is that you? Merlin’s- ah damn. Hang on, Lils.”
Lily grunted in response but it was all she could do now that she was aware of her situation to just breathe and try to push back something terrible that her brain wanted to remember.
“Wingardium Leviosa”
She hadn’t realized how difficult it was to breathe until the heavy wood was lifted off of her chest.
“Merlin, Lils. What happened? How did you...”
Sirius kept talking, asking, pressing in on Lily’s consciousness but there was something her brain was trying to tell her. “Sirius, where’s James?” Lily cut in suddenly. Something was telling her that she had to find him, and quickly.
Sirius stopped suddenly. “Lily, I-” his voice broke and he just stared at her for a moment.
Frustrated, she moved to sit up “Sirius I need you to tell me-” she was cut off by sharp pain in her side that made her vision swim in front of her face and Sirius’ hand on her shoulder, keeping her static.
“Lily, don’t move, I don’t know if-”
Lily’s voice rose, “Sirius Orion Black you tell me right now what has happened to my husband.”
“He’s dead!” Sirius finally yelled.
“No,” she whispered as a flash of green shaded her memory. But it couldn’t be true he couldn’t be-... “James, no.”
“He’s dea-" Sirius's voice broke, "I’m so sorry Lily, I should have-... I just can’t.” Sirius exhaled audibly, nearly a sob and Lily’s heart sunk even further into her stomach.
Sirius’s grip on Harry tightened and he seemed to compose himself for the moment, “Lily we need to get out of here, I don’t think the structure is stable. Do you think you can portkey?”
Lily whispered again, “James.”
“Shit. I’ve got to get you to Mungo’s. We’ll have to risk it.” There was a pause, “Portus,” and a stuffed dog of Harry’s glowed blue.
“Hold on to me, Lily. Ready? 3, 2, 1.” And the three of them were whisked away.
