Leaf and I had a bet where if this post got to 150+ notes, I’d have to reblog her spin-off of the one shot. It’s gotten to 157 during the time I’m writing this, so, here it is lolol. This has surpassed my expectations tbh, I thought it would stop at 100. Anyway, you should actually read the crack fic. It’s hilarious.

The hundreds of fluttering wings entering the Great Hall cut off everyone’s conversations as they excitedly waited for whatever mail they might be expecting.
(Y/N)’s parents were busy on business trips as they had described in their previous letter, so she stayed focused on the delicious pancakes in front of her. Sweet, fluffy pancakes-her mind seemed to have gone numb because Lily was practically shoving her to the point where she could fall off of her seat. “Oi, Earth to (Y/N)!”
Finally snapping out of her daydreaming state, she turned to the redhead that glared fondly in her direction. “Something’s arrived for you, you were too braindead to notice.” (Y/N) pouted in response but took the piece of parchment from Lily’s outstretched hand.  Marlene attempted at peeking over her friend’s shoulder, trying to see the contents of the letter. Her actions didn’t go without (Y/N)’s notice, who blocked Mar’s view. A familiar fancy yet rushed handwriting filled the paper.
“Dear my darling dove,
I stole some parchment from Moony, I’ll have to be quick about this so I can send it before he murders me. I heard you talking to Evans about how you think getting sent love notes and letters is romantic, so I thought I’d start surprising you with some. I’m going to guess you smiled at that comment. Merlin, imagining it is making me want to see you already. Your smile is the only thing I continue living for, really. I got a little cheesy there, didn’t I? I’m not the best at writing but I want to make you feel like you’re loved, like you’re special. Being with you is one of the most wonderful things that’s happened to me, you’re truly the light of my life. Shit, I think I hear Moony. Going to have to cut this letter short, love. I promise the next ones will be worthy for a goddess like you.
Sincerely,
Your favorite Gryffindor”
There was a smile spread on (Y/N)’s face as she finished reading and looked over to a beautiful pair of grey eyes, the usual smirk on her boyfriend’s face. Sirius seemed to be satisfied with himself, winking over at her. Such a simple action but it sent butterflies coursing through her. The things that boy did to her. It will be one hell of a ride if he planned on sending more of those.
She then became suddenly aware of the giggle fits next to her as well as how dumb her loving expression must’ve looked to those around her. Marlene snickered. “I don’t think you need to tell us who it’s from anymore.”

                                                          - - -
Sirius had certainly lived up to the idea of sending love letters. He hadn’t missed a day so far. He’d sometimes even send more than one. However cheesy or cliché they were, she loved receiving them, nonetheless. She started to laugh softly to herself, remembering the rant he had went on during one of the letters about how he was certain Prongs secretly wanted him and not Lily.
The weather outside was perfect. The warm sun wasn’t too intense, and a gentle breeze made the grass fly in the wind. A great day to work on Potions homework.
(Y/N) sat herself under a tree that provided her with shade, the same tree she and Sirius would usually cuddle under until getting scolded for being out after curfew. Grinning at the thought, she opened up her Potions book, dipped her quill in some ink and got to work.
Meanwhile, Sirius looked down upon her from the Owlery, admiring who he perceived as the most beautiful girl to ever exist. Letting out a love-sickened sigh, he leaned his head on the palm of his hand. He had started to forget the purpose of his trip when (Y/N)’s owl began pecking him lightly, an annoyed expression on their face. “Gah, okay, okay, you can stop now! Mangy bird.” He grumbled, scribbling words onto the parchment he had brought with him. (O/N) looked none too happy at his words, making their point clear as they poked him slightly hard on the head. Sirius scowled playfully in return. “I hear you, just let this dry for a moment.” During his waiting time, he decided to look out at where his girlfriend was again.
Some time passed by and stretching her arms up, (Y/N) realized that the sun had begun to set and that she’d been sitting out there for quite a while now. She took a moment to take in the scenery around her before packing up her things. The way the water out on the Black Lake glistened under the descending light especially caught her attention. She stared at her gorgeous surroundings until her eyelids began to droop.
Startled awake, she realized her owl was nuzzling her arm affectionately in hopes of her noticing them. She smiled, petting them gently and then taking the parchment they were holding out to her. “Another letter from Sirius, no doubt.” She thought aloud. Unrolling the paper, she began reading.
“Good evening, angel,
I can see you from the Owlery. That makes me sound like a creep, but I can’t erase it. You look so pretty today. Well, you’re gorgeous every day. Breathtaking, honestly. You’ll probably have such a cute blush while reading this. Maybe I should make it a goal of mine to get you bright, Gryffindor red. You look so concentrated on that Potions essay that I forgot about, which you’ll scold me for later. I love you so much. You’re so dedicated and passionate in everything you do. You’re so diligent and curious to learn more. Godric, the things you do to me. Remus poked fun at me for becoming soft, he even asked how I was able to see with all the hearts in my eyes. But how can I not be this in love when I have you? The most wonderful, intelligent woman in all of Hogwarts and you’re somehow mine. I just want to sing my love out to the whole WORLD. I can already hear you calling me dramatic, but that’s my middle name, doll. No, it is not Orion. Or Onion as Evans misread it. Anyway, you’ll be heading to bed by the time you read this, so I won’t make this too long.
Take care,
Your lovestruck boyfriend”
Chuckling to herself, (Y/N) bit her bottom lip to try and stop her smile from going across her whole face. (O/N) nudged her teasingly, to which she rolled her eyes. “You have no right to comment, I saw you eyeing an owl last week when I went to visit you.” (O/N) turned suddenly shy and tried to hide their face while their owner started cracking up.
                                                         - - -
Sirius nervously adjusted his black tie as he waited at the bottom of the stairway for (Y/N), thinking back on the past years they’ve experienced at Hogwarts. 7th year had finally come, and they’d all be graduating in a few days. They’d have to determine their future, but for now, they’d have a joyous time at their final school dance.
Speaking of, Lily and Marlene just walked down, which snapped Sirius out of his train of thought. Mar’ started making a trumpet impression before she began to speak. “Make way for our glorious and precious princess that I’ll continue to protect after school is over, (Y/N) (L/N)!” Lily covered her mouth to muffle her laughter as her dramatic friend did jazz hands.
Bashfully, (Y/N) stepped out from behind the wall she was using to not be seen and made eye contact with Sirius. His loving gaze admired her, and she couldn’t decide whether she felt more comfortable due to his presence or if she wanted to cover her face in fear that everyone would see her crimson cheeks. He then made it even harder to choose when he pulled out that charming smile on her, the one that just made her heart leap out of her chest.
“You look stunning, love.” He mused as she carefully walked down and over to him. The blush on her face intensified. “You don’t look so bad yourself, Sirius.”
Letting out a low chuckle that sent shivers down her spine, he held out an arm to her. “May I escort the beautiful princess to her ball?” (Y/N) accidentally let out a giggle at his extravagant act, mentally scolding herself for becoming a young teen for a moment. “Of course.” She responded as she wrapped her own arm under and around his. They stepped into the giant room that had been prepared for the students’ final, special night.
Everyone involved in the decoration certainly went all-out. A beautiful yet blinding chandelier hung from the ceiling, highlighting the dance floor. There were rows of tables with white cloth covering them stood off to the side. They had been filled with over a dozen entrée options to suit everyone’s tastes. The ribbons and balloons were gorgeous shades of blue and white. James had suspected they might’ve used the same decorations from the winter festivities, but everyone paid him no mind.
However, despite the effort that had been put in towards the way this ball looked, Sirius couldn’t help but stare at (Y/N) the whole time. The way her outfit of choice fit her just right and how the moonlight along with the chandelier brought out her eyes. She was like a magnet, pulling Sirius ever closer to the brink of madness. He often jokingly wondered whether she was part Veela in disguise.
“You going to stare holes through me all night or are you going to ask me to dance?” (Y/N) grinned at him.
Laughing softly, he took her hand in his and placed a gentle kiss upon it. “Right, how rude of me. Would you care for a dance, my love?” Giddily, she nodded.
Truth be told, Sirius had been forced by his mother to learn how to waltz, even if he didn’t have an interest in finding out how to do it. When he and (Y/N) got closer, she had made the off-hand comment that she didn’t know how to do the elegant dance, so he then became her tutor. He couldn’t help but thank the stars for having given him such a great opportunity to use the otherwise unneeded skill.
Now, here they were, gliding across the practically glittering floor. Some people watched in awe, but to them, they were the only two people that existed in this moment. The only people to have ever lived. The only people that mattered.
As they looked into each other’s eyes, they shared a mutual thought: they would never leave the other’s side.
After a while of quiet dancing, (Y/N) decided to speak up and break the silence. “It’s so weird to believe that…we’re going to be leaving this place, you know? Hogwarts has just always been a second home to me - to all of us.” Sirius nodded in agreement and hummed to himself before responding, “It’s really a strange concept, isn’t it?” He twirled her in between thoughts. “I mean, we came here when we were eleven. Merlin, my hair was so bad-”
Laughing, (Y/N) subconsciously twirled a piece of his hair between her fingers. “I don’t know, I think you looked quite cute.” Her laughter only continued when Sirius reacted with a disgusted look. “I’m sure my younger self appreciates the compliment but please don’t sneak into my bedroom at night and give me a haircut.” This only caused them to share a laugh together.
Smiling, (Y/N) decided to ask him something, “Hey, since our school lives are over, does this mean it’s the end of your endless letters?”
At this, Sirius suddenly looked a little nervous, which was rare. She tilted her head curiously at his behavior. “Sirius? Is something wrong?”
“No, no, nothing is wrong. I’m just…thinking of the right words to say, I guess.” He chuckled to himself, rolling his bottom lip between his teeth. “About those…I actually have one last letter I’d like you to read.” He started to reach for something in the pocket of his blazer and took up a folded sheet of parchment. (Y/N) made a motion to take it but he held it up too high for her to take. “Ah, ah, ah. I want you to read it in a more secluded area. You know, where people aren’t constantly twirling around us.” She laughed softly and they walked nearer to a window away from the dancing.
Sirius now handed over the paper, letting her gently unfold it. While her eyes went over all the words, he started fumbling with something else that was in his pocket.
“My love,
I write this to you in hopes that you’ll see how much I simply adore you. It’s the end of our last year here. There are so many fond memories tied to this place, many of which involve you. I could never imagine a life where I didn’t meet you. You’re so perfect and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I know I have flaws and I definitely don’t deserve you, but if you’ll have me, I want to be with you forever. I want to hold you close every moment I can and feel your soft hair in my hands. I want to protect you with my whole being and know you’re safe by my side. You’re my everything, (Y/N).
Will you marry me?”
Her eyes went wide as she reread that last line in her head. She turned to see Sirius but found she had to look down. He had gotten down on one knee, holding the box open, his eyes full of love for the woman in front of him but also tinted with a bit of worry. The biggest grin filled (Y/N)’s face as she nodded vigorously and lowered herself to the floor to hug him. “Yes, yes, of course I will you big dufus!” Sirius looked taken aback by the sudden gesture, almost falling back, but he smiled softly and hugged her back.
After holding each other for almost a minute, they stood up and Sirius slid the ring onto her finger. Making sure it was on perfectly, he moved her hand close and kissed it. (Y/N) admired the symbol of her new life. Not because of its beauty, although Sirius did make sure to pick out the best he could find, but because of what it meant for their future. Their future that they’d live out together.
“…so, I hope you’re ready for a new stream of letters dedicated to my lovely wife-”
    “Oh Merlin, Sirius!-”

plagiarism is not cool my dudes
so it has recently been brought to my attention that my work has been plagiarized by someone on wattpad…
i’ve been warned about a lot of my writings being reposted on that website, but they don’t claim it as their own (which is still wrong because i did not give anyone permission to repost my work AT ALL…) but not as bad, you know?
but this time…this person is legitimately pretending they wrote my fic, flowers and inks.

things writers can (probably) relate to
-making the facial expression your character’s making and trying to describe it
-writing entire scenes in your head as you shower and not remembering most of it by the time you get to your computer
-deciding you can’t do something you’ve been looking forward to until you write what you told yourself you were going to write, resulting in you laying in your bed doing nothing
-having two completely different ideas for your story to go in and both seem equally good but you can’t do both and you also can’t choose
-having docs with stories you know you’ll never finish but not deleting them anyway, even if they’re only a couple sentences long
-getting random bursts of productivity that could go towards homework or cleaning your room or writing and you know you’ll only be able to do one
-getting inspiration from the most random things
-writing at inopportune times because a perfect line or dialogue just popped into your head and you have to get it down before you forget it
-“what are you writing?” “……..a story”
- “what do you want to do when you grow up?” “uunnghnnggguughhhhh”
-reveling in the embarrassment you put your characters through

“I already said no.”
An exasperated groan was earned from one of her flat mates. Lily stood watching in amusement, biting into her toast. “Lils, can you please back me up here?” Marlene begged, (Y/N) shaking her head vigorously behind her. Lily seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, but she already had her answer before being asked.
“I think I have to agree with Mar, (Y/N)-” The said female fell back onto her bed dramatically, interrupting the red-head's sentence with a loud sigh of annoyance. “-you’ve been cooped up in here for too long.”
Marlene added on to Lily’s statement, “Yeah and frankly, hon, it’s been affecting you. I swear I heard you reciting Color Theory facts in your sleep when I was going to the bathroom.” (Y/N) let out a breathy laugh, immediately catching herself and trying to keep a poker face. She bit her lip, putting her thoughts together.
“I don’t know, guys...I’m not the best at social events.”
“Then this can be some well-needed practice! If you ever feel uncomfortable, just try to find us.” Marlene reassured.
(Y/N) was about to protest when Lily went before her, throwing a sweet smile over at her. “We care about you, which is why you should take our advice for once in your life. If we turn out to be wrong, you can scold us all you want.” Marlene copied Lily’s expression, throwing her arm around the still unconvinced female. “In addition to what our lovely red-head has stated, if you don’t have a good time, we can't let you tutor us on a hard subject throughout the next two weeks.”
(Y/N) smirked, already liking the benefit she would get from this bargain. “Alright, you guys got me, I’ll go.” Her friends cheered, doing cute victory dances. “However, can you help me pick out an outfit? As smart as I am, I know nothing about these things.” Marlene and Lily shared a knowing look, nodding at each other.
Her room was in a mess of clothing, shoes and makeup within what was probably five minutes. All three girls were sat on the floor, backs against the foot of the bed. (Y/N) glanced across the room while her friends high fived. Judging by the state of her once-neat living quarters, she was scared to think about how crazy things got for them if it was a larger event.
Marlene was the first to speak up after long seconds of silence, “You know, I feel like this is going to be a night we’ll never forget.”
What have I gotten myself into?
- - - -
“You look stunning, love!”
(Y/N) twirled in front of the full-body mirror. Her friends’ compliments made her feel better, but she still felt uncomfortable by the length of the dress. Marlene must’ve noticed. “Girl, can you stop pulling the end of the dress down, you’re goin’ to end up ripping it.” (Y/N) laughed nervously, now conscious of what her hands had been doing. “Right, I just-...I’ve never worn something so short.”
Marlene snorted, checking if her lipstick was alright next to her. “Well, you look mighty fine in it. Don’t steal all the good ones from us tonight.”
Mar’s jokes distracted (Y/N) from her worrisome thoughts.
“Guys, do I look okay?”
The girls turned to the doorway where Lily stood in her flattering lavender dress, her hair in a half-up half-down style.
“Okay? You look better than okay! If James wasn’t head over heels for you already, he definitely will be tonight.”
(Y/N) furrowed her eyebrows. Lily turned a light shade of red while Marlene answered the unspoken question. “James is this guy she met at a café down the block. They hit it off and she gave him his number. He won’t stop sending little flirts and compliments now, it’s honestly so cute.” She giggled with (Y/N) joining in. Lily was really red now, her face unamused. “Can we just go already?”
They shared a few laughs before nodding. The three of them grabbed their phones and purses before heading out.
(Y/N) fumbled as she got her car keys out while putting in the address to her GPS.
Marlene was already giddy and she hadn’t even touched any alcohol yet. “Thanks again for being our ride, (Y/N).” The mentioned female did a toothless smile as she concentrated on putting in the words and numbers correctly.
“It’s no problem, really. Plus, I’m convinced you’ll both be wasted by the end of the night so you need someone to look out for you.”
Both girls gasped, clutching their chests dramatically. Lily did a small ‘humph’ while Marlene protested, saying she knew how to handle herself. “If you think calling me at 3 AM asking where I keep the escaped llamas is handling yourself then yes, you’re totally right Mar.”
They all broke out into laughter, arriving at the car.
After getting comfortable in their seats-with seatbelts, of course-starting the engine and playing some music from (Y/N)’s playlist, they were on their way.
With the melodies of her favorite artists and Marlene’s rambling about how many cute pictures she’s going to take, the amount of time it took to arrive didn’t even cross (Y/N)’s mind.
“Come on, open the door, I’m ready to party!” Lily giggled at Marlene’s remark. Upon unlocking the car doors, Marlene immediately got off, followed by Lily. (Y/N) stayed in her seat, having second thoughts on her decision.
Lily gave her a look, which said she was not going inside unless she was sure (Y/N) was right behind her. She immediately knew all the ‘what if’s that were going through the girl’s mind. “Can you just let your worries go for one night?” It sounded less like a question and more like a command.
(Y/N) sighed, putting her phone away and clutching onto her purse before stepping out. After making sure that the car doors were locked, she walked right next to Lily with Marlene a little ahead.
Upon entering, about a million conversations and music were blasted into her ears. Marlene had already wandered off somewhere, which (Y/N) assumed was the place the drinks were being served. She started chatting with Lily when a messy-haired boy with circular glasses asked if he could borrow her. Judging by the way Lily blushed, (Y/N) automatically guessed it was James. She secretly didn’t want to be left alone but she also wanted her friend to spend time with her crush, even if she denied liking him the whole car ride when it was mentioned.
Guiding herself through a sea of dancing people, (Y/N) found a more secluded spot where she could seat herself down. It’s not that the heels were tiring, but she didn’t want her feet to hurt when she wasn’t even doing anything.
“What’re you doing all alone, love?”
She looked up to see the most beautiful pair of grey eyes she’d ever seen. His long hair framed his face perfectly, and-wait, what was happening again?
“It’s rude to stare, sweetheart.” A smirk tugged at his lips. (Y/N) grew flustered, now realizing she was probably analyzing him for too long. She thanked whatever being may be out there that the multicolored lights made her blush less noticeable. “Sorry-I...can we start over?”
He let out a deep laugh, something (Y/N) would definitely pay to hear again. “Of course.” He held out the hand that wasn’t holding a drink. “The name’s Black, Sirius Black.” She smiled, shaking his hand, which sent sparks through her. “(Y/N) (Y/L/N).”
“(Y/N)…" She relished in him saying her name, but quickly interrupted whatever he was going to follow that up with. “If you say ‘beautiful name for a beautiful girl,’ I am leaving this party.”
He immediately closed his mouth, causing her to laugh. Sirius took a seat next to her on the couch. “Did you come here all by yourself?” (Y/N) shook her head, gaining a momentarily disappointed Sirius. “My friends talked me into coming,” His original expression returned. “I don’t usually come to these things.”
“I can tell.”
“Is it that obvious?” (Y/N) bit her lip nervously.
“If you keep doing that, I’ll have no choice but to kiss you on the spot, love.”
She gently shoved him, her face reddening even more. “If you came here with friends, why do I see no evidence of them.”
(Y/N) fidgeted with her hands. “One is probably drunk and dancing her heart out. The other is who-knows-where with this boy. James, I think it was.” Sirius’s eyes evidently lit up. “James is my best mate, guess we were destined to meet anyway.” He sent a wink at her before taking a sip of his drink.
“Is this a hobby of yours, picking up girls with your charming ways.”
“Not always, but I’m glad to see you find me charming, love.” She immediately cursed herself mentally for the words that had come out of her mouth.
“SNUFFLES!”
Sirius coughed awkwardly, sinking down in the couch as if trying not to be seen. This caused her to imitate his smirk. “Odd way to react to such a random statement. Could they possibly be referring to you, Snuffles?” His eyes glared over at her. “Of course not.”
“SNUFFLES ORION BLACK, WHERE ARE YOU?!”
Sirius groaned, running one hand through his hair and covering his face with the other. (Y/N) broke into laughter. After a few seconds, the laughter died down and Sirius moved one finger to see. He expected to find the girl had disappeared only to find she had stood up in front of him and had her hand held out. “They’re trying to find you, yes? We could move out onto the balcony if you like. Unless you want to be found faster.” He shook his head, smiling as he took her hand.
(Y/N) threw open the doors dramatically, “Ah, fresh air. Well, as fresh as it can be from all the cars that have driven past here tonight.” She glanced over at him, the moonlight perfectly highlighting his beautiful features.
“You’re starin’ again, love.” The familiar smirk appeared on his face.
Fml...
“In the good way or the bad way?”
The female’s confused expression at his statement made him laugh. “You were thinking out loud.”
(Y/N) groaned in exasperation. “Can I embarrass myself anymore tonight?”
“I find it kind of cute.”
She blinked, thinking she must have heard it wrong. “I’m-what?”
Sirius expertly switched the topic, although the thought lingered in her mind. They talked for the rest of the night, which was filled with friendly and not-so-friendly banter. They found they really enjoyed talking to each other, having the same humor. Of course, just listening to the other person seemed to entertain them enough.
Sirius got nervous in the middle of the conversation, which didn’t go unnoticed by (Y/N). “Hey, are you alright? You’ve gone really quiet.” He cleared his throat, his eyebrows knitting together, like he was thinking deeply about something. “Yeah, I was just-...you know what, fuck it.” (Y/N) laughed a little from his sudden outburst.
“(Y/N), I don’t want you to be some random person I met at a party. You seem like such a smart, cool, and funny person. Not to mention you’re bloody gorgeous-” A familiar blush spread across her face. “-so, before I chicken out, I need to ask you something. Will you go on a date with me?” (Y/N) froze where she stood. Had she heard him correctly?
Her mouth opened to say something but it instantly closed.
“I’ll take that as a no-”
“NO! God, no-I mean-” Words seemed to be failing her, so she decided to try a different method.
Leaning up, she quickly pressed her lips against his. Sirius’s eyes widened but the shock instantly wore off as he wrapped his hands around her waist. They both smiled into the kiss, (Y/N)’s hands slowly reaching up to touch his hair.
They seemed to forget where they actually were, because they both jumped abruptly when someone opened the doors to the balcony.
Lily stood there, a smirk forming on her lips. “Am I interrupting something?” Both of their faces were reddening by the second. Sirius seemed to get over the situation faster than (Y/N), now smirking back at Lily. “How did your snog sesh with James go, Evans?” Now it was Lily’s turn to blush.
“GET SOME, PADS!”
Sirius broke into laughter, shouting back in response, “GET SOME, PRONGS!”
The girls looked at each other, confused, but laughed along anyway.
Sirius and (Y/N) quickly exchanged phone numbers before they forgot and went back inside with Lily. After a couple more rounds of shots that (Y/N) had no intention in participating in, the party died down and people started leaving. Checking the time, she realized why. Finding Marlene and helping her walk sturdier, she gestured to Lily that they should be leaving too. She smirked when she saw her go up to James and give him a peck on the cheek. Lily mouthed, “Not a word.” over to her.
“I look forward to our date, doll.”
(Y/N) waved with her hand that wasn’t supporting Marlene, smiling to herself on the way out.
Hnnng, it’s posted. Okay. I wanna do better next time, haha. Hope you guys enjoyed it nonetheless, although it’s not that great lmao.

Rhythm of Love - Lollie
Hey, so, I made a one shot of Lollie from Rosewood Chronicles. I posted it on the Amino but thought I’d post it here as well because why not. The song being played is called Rhythm of Love by Plain White T’s.
Lottie gasped, waking up in a sweat. Her heart wanted to beat right out of her chest. She looked over at her roommate who was sound asleep, her tousled up hair going in different directions.
"It was a dream...just a dream." She thought out loud. The horrid nightmare kept playing on repeat in her mind.
Ellie had sacrificed herself for her...dying in the process. She felt something wet fall on her hand and she curiously went to touch her face. It was wet with tears. She didn't even notice she had begun to cry.
"Lottie?" A husky, sleepy voice spoke up from across the room. Lottie turned to see Ellie slowly sitting up, rubbing the tiredness out of her eyes.
"Ellie..." She said fondly, still not over the events that her brain conjured up.
Ellie looked at her worriedly, getting ready to leave her bed and cross over to Lottie's side of the room. "Why are you crying? What happened?"
Lottie tried to smile reassuringly. "It's nothing, really. It was just a nightmare."
Ellie sighed, swiftly coming over and sitting next to her best friend. "You're all shaken up. You can't go back to sleep like this."
Lottie shook her head dismissively, not wanting to keep Ellie awake with her troubles. "I'm fine." The princess responded with a quirk of her eyebrow. "Clearly, you're not."
Lottie bit her lip. "I thought I lost you..."
Ellie comfortingly slung her arm around her. "Hey now, I'm not going anywhere. I'll always be here for you."
She glanced over to her side of the dorm and smirked. "I have an idea on how I can distract you. One second." She bolted, leaving a confused and sniffling Lottie.
As Ellie came running back, Lottie noticed she was holding her guitar this time.
Her roommate was smiling excitedly as she held out a hand. When Lottie didn't immediately grab it, Ellie pushed her hand a bit forward. "Do you trust me?"
Lottie found herself silently nodding and taking hold of her hand.
Lottie felt a wave of panic from being out past curfew, but somehow, when she's with Ellie...it doesn't really matter. Almost like the rest of the world is paused for just them. Her mouth subconsciously smiled.
Once they got to a clear spot with the stars visible above them, Ellie started checking to see if her guitar was playing fine. "Okay, we're all set to go."
Once the first strum of Ellie's guitar was struck, Lottie felt as if she entered another world.
"My head is stuck in the clouds"
"She begs me to come down, says 'Girl...quit foolin' around.'"
"I told her, 'I love the view from up here, warm sun and wind in my ear. We'll watch the world from above, as it turns to the rhythm of love."
Lottie swayed along to the lyrics, fully enraptured by Ellie's voice.
"We may only have tonight, but 'til the morning sun, you're mine. All mine."
"Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love."
Ellie looked up at Lottie in admiration, loving the way she was letting go and getting lost in the music.
"Well, my heart beats like a drum. A guitar string to the strum, a beautiful song to be sung."
"She's got blue eyes, deep like the sea, that roll back when she's laughing at me. She rises up like the tide the moment her lips meet mine."
Lottie twirled and danced around, the smile on her face never fading.
"We may only have tonight, but 'til the morning sun you're mine. All mine."
"Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love."
"When the moon is low, we can dance in slow motion. And all your tears will subside. All your tears...will dry."
In that moment, Lottie remembered why she wanted to protect this girl so badly. They cared for each other so deeply, and they would be unstoppable. She would make sure of that.
"And long, after I've gone, you'll still be humming along and I will keep you in my mind-the way you make love so fine.”
"We may only have tonight, but 'til the morning sun you're mine. All mine."
"Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love."
"Oh, play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love."
"Yeah, sway to the rhythm of love."
The last chord is struck, but the magical and romantic barrier around them hadn't left. Not yet.
They stared at each other, a twinkle in their eyes before they started laughing and dancing with each other. Lottie looked up and she swore she could see the faintest of a shooting star soar above them. She smiled to herself before returning to her clumsy waltzing with the girl who stole her heart.
