can we talk about the teamwork podcasters have built??? collaboration is genuinely everywhere in this space—once you've listened to three or four podcasts, you've probably heard the creators of at least four more podcasts, and then in turn will discover other shows from those podcasts, with new voices (alongside creators you're already familiar with!) sure, it's by design, & small shows need to support one another to survive, but idk, i just have such an appreciation for the podcasting community :,)

How I have improved my routines and consistency

Hello girlies! This first week of my vacations period I have been using it as a test for my ideal routines and schedule, identifying what goes right and wrong and what changes do I need to do to be consistent and have an efficient systmem. What you'll be reading next are all the things I have done and learned to apply to have a calm, healthy, fun and fulfillling routines and daily schedule, overrall improving my lifetyle.

Identify

Energy levels: Are you a morning person or a night owl? Do you identify when do you have the most energy and when it goes down? What would be my ideal time to sleep and wake up?

What negative habits do I have? And why do I have them? With what habits I can switch them?

Why do I procrastinate? In which ways I procrastinate and distract myself?

How I want my lifestyle to look like? What habits, routines, hobbies and activities are included in my daily life? How do I act on a daily basis?

Creating my schedule and routines

Set a sleeping schedule that fits you based on your energy levels.

Create a morning, night and pampering routines that you enjoy doing, that you are comfortable with and makes you feel fulfilled.

Create (if neccesary) other routines that you need:There are probably other things you want to do that you need a routine for! For example, I have a mini manifesting routine and a weekly spiritual healing routine. I also want to create a language sudy routine too.

Include non-negotiable healthy habits: this habits are the ones that keep you healthy in body, work with your mind and give you peace. For example, some of mine are: eating 3 healthy meals, tidying up my space for 30 minutes, listening to a podcast, don't use my phone for more than three hours, etc. Also, include fun habits to help you romanticize the day and feel good.

Have time to do things I love: I have noticed that if I don't do the things I love after long period of time, meaning productive only days, I get burned out and more prone to procastinate and get distracted when I get the chance. Make sure you have time to yourself, either be it hobbies or fun activities, you will keep your mind, heart, body (if it's physical) and soul healthy!

Have time to rest and be still: We need to understand that we need rests, so we have to respect it and let us be. Also we need some minutes in silence to connect with ourselves, body and creativity out of all the noise and stimuli.

Maintaining consistency

Plan my day: I plan my daily tasks and my daily schedule, this to not procrastinate overthinking "what I'm going to do?"

Add a place and hour: For any routine, habit or activity decide "Where am I going to do it? At what time or after what habit?"

Habit stacking or multitasking: If I have a "listening habit" (podcast, subliminal, listening to high vibe music) with a "not-thinking alot habit" (tidyin up my space, do the dishes, cooking) habit I do them both at the same time. If I need to do a habit that needs my full attention then it will be done that way.

Include timers (if needed): This helps me know how much time do I need to do my habits and to know if it's taking me more or less time to complete them. I use an app where I have my routines (morning, night, weekly reset, mini manifestation and spiritual healing activities) with each habit having a timer.

Have a habit tracker: In here I write a daily log that includes filling boxes of my daily non negotiable habits and extra habits (that romanticize my life or keep me healthy). Also includes two questions: "What progress did I made today with my goals? Is there something I need tom improve or change in my system?'.

Romanticize! Your habits and activities, routine sets, daily schedule, romanticize your days your way! It's different for everyone, so find out how to add magic into your life.

Wasted day? It's never too late to do something useful. Keep going or journal about what went wrong. I like to remind myself my motivations and ideal lifestyle to mantain myself going forward.

(I'll be asking this same question to respective other sub-fandoms in the Shadowhunter community so that we have a net-profit of fantastic phone snooping of our own favs)

What are their most used apps, their background photos, their favourite social media, and do they have a pop socket or a special kind of case? etc.! Let's get started!

This ask applies to each TDA cast member of note as well TWP (mainly just to emphasis that KiTy and Dru matter! haha)

Or is it of family members? Maybe a wallpaper affiliated with a sports team or a favourite fandom? Or a fandom ship? Is it a different wallpaper from their home screen?

❤️‍🔥What news apps do they get their current events?: Do they even check in on current events? Or do they get it from podcasts? Or do they get their news from social media? And if so which?

❤️‍🔥 Social Media Usage: Are they, 'popular' on social media? Thus having a high follower count? What do they tend to post to 'the public'? Are they gearing their instagram or TikTok for a more artistic angle or sharing private important moments to the public? i.e. what they eat, what their favourite show is right now? Do they curate it to a specific aesthetic? Or do they not bother at all? and can go a long time without checking their social media? Do they have a burner account they use to follow all their favourite things and spy on people? Or do they not play that game?

Regarding the Cellphone-Spying

This is an Answer-Post to a really nice & intriguing question I received from @emmalovesfitzloved.

I really don’t know how freaking long this answer-post will be, so I hope y’all are in for this ride!

We’re starting off with Kit, since he's definitely one of my favorite characters and also one for whom I have lots of personal head canons & theories, which will make this a lot easier. He was also the first one that came to mind!

I also made some categories to please my perfectionistic, organization-obsessed brain. Hopefully, it’ll make everything look less long & intimidating.

The Outside

So, first of all, Kit definitely has an IPhone. I'm thinking maybe 11 or 12 model-wise, and for sure either a blue or silver one (though the light blue one is the most obvious choice for sure)

He would have one of these weird-ass clear cases with the circle thingy, the only reason being that everybody else uses those as well, and he didn't really feel the need to stand out (at least not through his choice of phone case??)

Also, he is one of those people who store absolutely everything in their phone case. Keys, money, hair clips (for Mina), chewing gum, guitar picks (my kit-attempts-to-play-the-guitar-headcanon is very strong), a paper heart (from either Ty or Mina, you decide) and random pieces of garbage

All his wallpapers, not matter if we're talking home- or lock screen, are always pictures of him with his loved ones. Always. Ty basically lives on his lock-screen rent-free at this point.

In terms of accessories, I will definitely stand by the fact that he uses very old, partly damaged wired headphones (instead of listening to his boyfriend!) and is very stubborn about it. He also uses a pop socket, either one of those black-and-white checked ones or one with some sort of comic or movie reference.

The Inside

Apps

He has an average amount of apps, mostly socials and unnecessary games he downloaded because of advertisements but never really uses.

There isn't really an organization to them (like color-coded or something); he just lets them be where they are.

Most used Apps: WhatApp, YouTube and Google (pretty basic)

Personalization

Alarms: He actually only needs like three alarms, the first one being the most annoying sound ever (summit), and the others just in case.

Ringtone: He definitely had a duck-one at some point, simply out of spite and to scare Jace.

People

The people he texts the most are Ty and Dru. I would actually even say that he and Dru have more messages together than he and Ty, for numerous reasons. One of them being the fact that their chats contain many many playful arguments which result in tons of short messages and emoji-spams. Also, Ty isn't really a texter in my mind, and the two of them are around each other the whole time anyway.

In terms of who he calls the most, it's definitely Ty and Tessa, who's also his #1 Emergency Contact. Kit calls Tessa a lot, not only to talk to Mina who does not have a phone, but also just to check in, get advice or just talk for a bit. Him and Ty do both normal calls and video calls, but only if they're away from each other, normally, which doesn't happen too frequently. But when it does, they'll be calling each other a lot!

Group Chats, whew. This is gonna be a long one😅 There is, of course, a family group chat with Jem, Tessa and Kit, that'll have Mina in it later. Just a basic one, I would say, where he always replies (like the good son he is). He's also definitely in a chat with the whole Blackthorn-Family (in which he's mostly active through weird emoji-reactions) and the TWP-Gang (which he keeps muted A LOT, mostly because of Dru). And then there's a really unnecessary Herondale Group Chat, which Jace thinks is very important (it only has him and Kit in it at the moment; they're waiting for eventual children to add😭).

I’m somebody that’s been working on a pet project TTRPG in my downtime, and I have been wondering something. Do you know of any discord servers or communities that would be full of similar people, people that have already or are currently working on TTRPGs? This might not be the best place to ask, but I thought I might as well shoot my shot.

Extremely good question!!! I know of a couple off the top of my head but I am certain that there are more. If anyone knows of any others or if you want to promote your own TTRPG Discord or TTRPG space please add it to this post!!

The first up is Possum Creek’s Public Discord which is filled with wonderful TTRPG-oriented folks, the Possum Creek crew have done a really good job of fostering a community there. They’ve also got their Patreon Discord, which you do need to back their Patreon to access (which you can do for just $1 a month) and it is also absolutely fantastic.

Secondly there’s the Brain Trust Discord, which is run by Adam Vass and Will Jobst. If you listen to their Brain Trust podcast (which you should) you may have heard of it already but its a really good space filled with a lot of super cool people all talking about and making TTRPGs.

Another one is Reliquary Street Station, which is run by the lovely @stargazersasha. It was originally created during Trans Fucking Rage Jam and has continued to be an incredible creative force in the indie TTRPG and trans community. It is a space specifically for trans artists so please make sure to respect that.

There’s also the Clawhammer Games Discord, Clawhammer Games being the publisher of Gravemire, a Gilded Age tabletop horror game about mortality, growth, and the Louisiana bayou that is going to be available at IPR very, very soon!

Lastly, @jeeyonshim has her Patreon Discord, the Dirtgoblin Community Center. Which, again, you do have to back her Patreon to access but it’s an incredible community, plus there’s so much other cool stuff you get access to by supporting the Patreon that I really recommend checking it out. 

Again these are just the ones I can think of, if anyone else knows of good spaces for indie TTRPG creatives please add them on!

uhhh okay im gonna TRY to come up with some additional thoughts since i am going to the trouble of making this post. i guess one question is— does mello RESPOND to the emails??? probably. he loves to be mad about stuff and he hates not being heard when he's mad about stuff. so like. initially he's just replying to the emails from matt with “i hate that stupid fucking furby” and “how much money do i have to give you to set it on fire, or at least stop emailing me” but when matt points out that mello could just auto sort the emails to spam mello pretends as if he doesn't see that one. eventually, as mello's responses become marginally less hostile, matt is like 😌 it's time to up the ante. and begins including his Fun Near Facts. these include but are not limited to:

- he took college level differential equations when he was 14! 🤓 (mello response: okay, so he's a loser??)

- he's not a loser he's REALLY cool (note: matt loves to lie. or he actually has an unrealistically kind view of near's swag levels) (mello does not dignify this with a reply)

- he loves talking about math! don't worry though it's really easy to tune it out and he doesn't really care if you're not listening (mello response: i don't know why i would need to know that.)

- one time he saved me from drowning 😳 (note: matt also loves to embellish. near “saved him from drowning” by telling matt to not try his luck at jumping over a river, which wasn't actually even deep enough for him to drown in)

uuhhhhh okay running out of matt's fun facts about near BUT. the point is that he is wingmanning so hard. i guess another question is whether or not near picks up on the fact that matt is regularly taking candid photos of him? my thought is no. i could see near being sort of a space cadet in this respect tbh; if he's absorbed enough in something he tunes everything else out)

hmm. genuinely running out of steam so lemme just jot down a few more ideas and then someday maybe i will add more when more comes to me.

- near: lives in... actually, fuck it, NOT new york. he and matt room together in minneapolis. near is in a PhD program for math— either complex analysis or topography. idk. something. matt is a programmer of some kind bc i am not creative.

- mello: i think i already said but he lives in LA, works for the mob. probably isn't really that Into It but he got in when he was pretty young and it's not like he has a lot of other options at this point? i imagine it isn't something he spends a lot of time angsting over but he's probably kinda unfulfilled.

OH okay sorry i got an idea. these stupid emails from matt go on for a few months, with mello gradually responding in very slightly less mean ways & occasionally asking questions,,, and then one day the Daily Near Email comes through and it's a picture of near somewhere in LA. probably griffith's observatory actually. and matt (knowing full well from mello's social media that he lives in Los Angeles) captions the image something like “where did you say you lived again??? 🤔”

finally getting to this (TY to @billsfangearring for the rec) and thinking that the entire thing should be mandatory listening for anyone and everyone who wants to participate in fandom. I learned so much about fannish history, zines, fandom on the internet, the creation of FFN — also hell yeah to whoever of the podcasters is a snarry/ tomarry shipper — but mostly seconding this very hard

maybe i’m especially in my fandom history feels thanks to femslash february & @lumosatnight’s HP femslash history thing, but — this basically yall, i’m so emotional. (timestamp approx. 2h15m in).

fanlore article: An Archive Of One's Own (post by astolat), a proposal that astolat posted to her LiveJournal in May 2007.

First, why fanfic is not illegal and why YOU should stop saying that it is even if you don't agree, by cesperanza. Please read it. That said, the people behind fanlib (talked about many places, see astridv here) don't actually care about fanfic, the fanfic community, or anything except making money off content created entirely by other people and getting media attention. They don't have a single fanfic reader or writer on their board; they don't even have a single woman on their board. They're creating a lawsuit-bait site while being bad potential defendants, and they deserve to be chased out being pelted with rocks. But even if they were, which I doubt is going to happen, because hey, they have people and money, we're still left with this problem: we are sitting quietly by the fireside, creating piles and piles of content around us, and other people are going to look at that and see an opportunity. And they are going to end up creating the front doors that new fanfic writers walk through, unless we stand up and build our OWN front door.

every time i think i cannot love ao3 more i find even more to love and respect about it & everyone who contributed to creating it. what an empowering story this is, you all, about taking OWNERSHIP and mobilizing the community and building the places, MAKING the spaces you want to have. being the change you want to see.

and this list of desired features —

- allowing ANYTHING -- het, slash, RPF, chan, kink, highly adult - giving explicit credit to the original creators while clearly disclaiming any official status - making it easy for people to download stories - options for people to post [recursively transformative works inspired by] the original story, all of which would automatically be linked back so you could see the kind of interconnecting 'web' of how our work is interrelated - automatic rec lists (just click on a story to add it to your rec list) - mentoring: collect up writing advice, fannish history, acafandom, and create a simple FAQ (integrate a wiki?)

what we’re doing is LEGITIMATE, it has VALUE and it is REAL.

it is alright if not everyone cares about everything or indeed the same things, it is alright if no two people see things the same way or perfectly align in fandom interests and preferences and headcanons, but there is so much to celebrate and uplift about each other. we have so much in common. so much.

I stumbled upon a random LP almost 10 years ago. At the time I was deeply depressed and had barely any friends. From there I started watching Minecraft and GTA and fell more and more in love with AH the more I watched. And then I discovered RT as a whole. RT Podcast, Immersion, Million Dollars, but, On the Spot, Free Play and many more projects. Suddenly I had something to watch and comfort me every single week if not day. I watched the RT Podcast live for years, watched every LP as soon as I could so I could have something to laugh about every day. I watched some of these people grow into amazing human beings. If I think about how people like Gavin and Michael were at the beginning to now I get so emotional.

Watching Geoff overcome his alcohol addiction, seing AH members and others building families, grow beyond the company, seeing the love those silly people that you watch have for each other used to and still does make me so happy. I used to have Minecraft & 7 Days to die LPS going in the background all the time because their voices were comforting to me. There literally wasn't a single day where I didn't consume RT's content in some shape or form. And then there was the RH situation. Suddenly everything I watched felt tainted by his influence. Everything that used to comfort me suddenly didn't anymore. And for a while I tried to keep watching AH because other than RH I admire everyone so, so much. But with Geoff taking a backseat, Gavin not appearing as much, Fiona & Jeremy leaving I just lost interest. And with my other favorite shows gone (or changed) like RT Podcast, On the Spot, Free Play etc. I stopped watching RT comepletely.

But with the news of Rooster teeth shutting down I'm suddenly reminded of all the good times that were had. During the times I watched AH I was probably the most creative when it comes to making gifs and such. I watched a random Coup LP yesterday and I laughed my ass of. And then I watched the stream they did earlier today and I cried my fucking eyes out. If you knew me, you would know that I do not cry that often and definitely not over a span of an hour. Seeing people that I admire and respect so much like Barbara, Trevor, Geoff, Jack, Jessica, Kerry, Chris and others tear up talking about how much they all love each other and gonna miss spending every day together really just reminded me why I fell in love with the company. Because in the days before Full Screen and Warner Bros etc. Rooster teeth never really felt like a company to me, it felt like a family. And even if I haven't watched any of the recent stuff they made I still feel so upset for them. And I honestly just wanna say thank you to everyone who ever worked at RT for making so much (mostly) free content for us to consume and love. I wish every single one of you all the the best and hope to be able to support everyone the best I can in the future.

i'm really glad that people behind this adaptation truly care and respect the source material. it does makes me happy that we got neil to team up with someone like craig who's a huge fan of the last of us. however, some of his comments and creative choices sometimes rub me the wrong way.

i absolutely do not think he's doing or saying it with wrong intentions considering how much of respect and admiration he has for neil and the games.

but i'm a little nervous after the last episode. especially when it comes to ellie's character and craig's depiction of her relationship with violence. i agree that some people twisted his words from the first behind the episode video, said he called ellie a psycho or something and ran with it. craig mentioned in the last podcast episode that he does not consider her to be such person.

i know he's probably trying to prepare the new coming fans for the adaptation of the second game and ellie's inevitable descent into her own darkness but the comment about her having a violent heart left me a little confused.

video games and tv series are two different medias, yes of course. however, there are a few significant details that make the character the way they are. ellie is a kid who grew up on her own, without any proper type of parental love and care until she meets joel. she's trying to look tough, when in reality she's someone deeply afraid of ending up alone.

her encounter with david scars her for the rest of the life, changes her character entirely—which is absolutely justified. ellie kills david in self-defense. i like what neil said ages ago—each strike she made there was for each person she lost.

but ellie is not accustomed to violence the way joel is and we see that clearly in the second game when she sets off on her revenge quest. ellie is not built for this and each hit she takes, each strike she makes, it takes something from her.

take the scene with nora for instance. this is a huge moment for ellie's character. she dives into the deepest and darkest places of her soul as she quite literally beats the living soul of her enemy. and then she comes back to theatre, crushed and traumatised by her own actions. she breaks down to tears. that just does not seem like a reaction of someone who has a violent heart.

i know the adaptation is not going to be 100% the same thing, get that. if i wanted a carbon copy, i would play the game. i'm just not quite sure where he's headed with her character.

considering craig's words, i'm wondering how they are going to adapt ellie's descent into darkness that she faces throughout the events following the first game. it's made clear multiple times that she's not like abby nor joel when it comes to violence. she does not have that inside of her.

i believe he cares for the characters. i'm just not sure about his depiction of ellie's relationship with violence.

also, just so we're clear. this is absolutely not a hate post. just wanted to summarise my thoughts regarding this since it's been on my mind for a while.

I just found this podcast today; I've listened to all of season 1 straight through, and I'm listening to the Q&A right now. I'm really enjoying listening to the cast and writers talking about the characters and their approaches to them. I mean, everything just hits perfectly.

There are ways in which I relate to all the team members, but Madge especially reminds me of my younger self, with her high level of sexual energy, which she shares so generously. In the Q&A, they seemed to be having trouble coming up with terms to describe her sexuality. The word I used for myself in those days was "ambisextrous."

Most of the series has been light, and funny, and fun. The latter part of episode 8 was a whole other thing, with the breakdown of the characters and the relationships, and the beginning of their reconstruction. Props to everyone involved, because it was absolutely harrowing and absolutely accurate. As someone who's experienced that kind of emotional trauma, there was a part of me that wanted to just bail on the episode, but my experience also knows that the only way out is through. And I'm glad I stuck with it.

I'm really looking forward to season 2, and meanwhile, I'm glad you're promoting so many other cool stories to listen to.

Oh wow. We’re just never quite prepared for getting lovely messages like this, to be honest. The greatest thing in the world for creators is knowing that the thing you made reached someone and had an effect—especially the stuff you were really worried about trying creatively!

You can probably tell in the Q&As that we were really torn about the tonal line this very silly comedy was walking toward the end of the season, wondering if we were, as we were trying to do, using comedy as a tool to allow our audience to open up to these characters and their internal lives to then go a bit deeper, or just pushing it over the line from comedy into something decidedly less fun. We always worried we might lose people in episode 8, and we’ve been so touched to hear that hasn’t been the case. The widespread embracing of these silly characters and their hopes, fears, and insecurities is something we will treasure forever—especially because so much of it stems from our own hopes, fears, and insecurities. We promise things will still be very silly in season 2, I don’t mean this to indicate we’re not a comedy anymore because there is SO much silliness. But one of our mission statements as creators, and something the medium has allowed is to explore, is that we believe comedy has just as much to say as drama, and that just because you’re laughing doesn’t mean you can’t feel seen, or experience catharsis, or learn something about yourself. If I care about someone, I typically give them little gifts that are specific to them. "Paul Levesque" has been trending on Twitter for a while, and the general vibe I see are people grappling with the realization that Triple H might be part of the problem and not the solution they always hoped for.

I think the mythology for the past 18 years or so has been that WWE sucks ass, and it's all Vince McMahon's fault, and the only way it'll get better is when he dies/retires/steps aside and Triple H takes over. Then people can say "belt" again and the camera work will improve and the booking will make sense.

I haven't watched WWE in five years, but from what I hear that's mostly how things have played out. People have been much more positive about the product since Vince retired in 2022, and that positivity improved when the TKO merger happened and Vince was moved to a safe distance from creative. I think it's safe to conclude that Paul is more competent at running a wrestling promotion than Vince.

The catch is that it's a very low bar to clear. This week has demonstrated to everyone that the bar was even lower than we knew. A few months ago I listened to a Behind the Bastards podcast series on Vince McMahon, and after seven hours they barely made it to Owen Hart's death in 1999.

Meanwhile, I fear that fans have set their expectations of Paul Levesque very high. It reminds me a lot of the hype surrounding AEW when it formed. The promise of a major wrestling promotion free of Vince McMahon leads people to expect everything they ever wanted. Our favorite wrestlers will always win and always get main event pushes, every storyline will be flawless and brilliant, we'll finally get rid of the flippy shit, we'll finally get more of the flippy shit, women wrestlers will get their due, and finally, finally, there will be sound, ethical leadership backstage.

The reality is that fans are now arguing over which company's press conferences are a bigger joke. Well, HHH may have fumbled the question about reading the lawsuit filing, but at least he didn't wear a silly hat like TK did as he deflected the questions about Chris Jericho!

The bar is pretty low. Maybe Levesque can figure out a way to recover and learn from this whole experience, and become the benevolent ruler everyone wanted him to be. Maybe his hands are dirtier than anyone guessed, and he'll be turfed out of the company by next year. Maybe he's only slightly less corrupt than Vince, and he'll manage to survive the post-Vince purges anyway. It all remains to be seen.

But it feels like the fanbase is starting to notice that this guy isn't necessarily going to deliver on all their hopes and dreams of a better WWE. It'll be better than it was under Vince, if only because they'll quit booking so many DQ finishes and no-contests. But they keep letting Hulk Hogan in the building, so that tells me they're not aiming nearly as high as I would like.

I see three kinds of comments on Triple H lately.

"Fuck that guy, he's just as bad as Vince and his cronies, and he should be fired too."

"I used to like HHH, but now I've lost all respect for him after that presser."

"Don't be so mean to HHH, you jerks, he's doing the best he can and you shouldn't expect him to talk about a lawsuit after revolutionizing Sports Entertainment™ with another great Premium Live Event™."

It's that third one that intrigues me, because I never used to see fanboys white knighting for Triple H before. It used to be they would talk about what a genius he is for conquering wrestling, and if anything good or bad happened to WWE, that was Triple H winning his game of 5-D chess. If something bad happened, it was a sign of Vince's downfall, and HHH would look like a hero when he finally got the opportunity to right the ship. If something good happened, then it made WWE even richer and more powerful for the day when HHH took control.

Now the message is: "Hey, leave him alone you guys, he's just a wee li'l booker, he can't comment on an ongoing legal matter. He's just a kindly old man cobbling Royal Rumble matches in his little workshop. Don't ask him about corporate culture and sexual abuse in the workplace. His heart's bad, so he can't take it!"

It's not a good look. It was probably more fun when he was putting on shows and hyping them up with Shawn Michael and Road Dogg like "Fuck yeah! DX is running WWE now and everything is badass!" But now he's got everyone looking at him with anger or suspicion, or pity. Maybe that all blows over in a few months, or maybe it won't. I think I might need a new userpic in the meantime...
