The Black Brothers (TTPD version)
Regulus to Sirius:
I thought it was just goodbye for now
You said you were gonna grow up
Then you were gonna come find me
Promises, oceans deep
Sirius to Regulus:
But life was always easier on you
Than it was on me
We both did the best we could do underneath the same moon
In different galaxies
And I didn't want to hang around
We said it was just goodbye for now

Part 4 (next part of 'that moment when' featuring Ruben Dias 🩵 and John Stones🩵)
John had driven away from your place feeling an element of relief, pleased that he had intervened, knowing that there was a really good chance of reconciliation ............ but he also knew he needed to consider the best way forward from here, not just for Ruben but for you too ...............
John had assessed that you were still too upset and embarrassed to call Ruben yet, but promised you that he would first speak to Ruben about the situation, and then the social media team at the Etihad ............ he was more than aware that he needed to handle this very carefully, knowing that the online trolls in question would be relentless if it got out that they had succeeded in ending Ruben’s relationship with you .............
There was no way he was going to break this sort of news to Ruben over the phone, so having text him to check he was at his apartment, John drove straight there, parking in the underground car park, and taking the flashy mirrored lift up to his floor.........
John’s mind was working overtime as he pushed his finger on the doorbell and waited for his friend to open the door ………. as the door opened, John’s eyes fixed on Ruben and he could see from his pained face that he was still very much a broken mess ……….. John stepped forward into the apartment and they embraced each other like long lost friends who hadn’t seen each other in years………. Ruben held onto the comforting hug as long as he could, before John patted him on the back and pulled back, placing both his hands on Ruben’s shoulders as he spoke …….. “Come on mate …… we need to have a serious talk ……”
As they sat together, each with a mug of coffee in hand, both perched on the designer bar stools on opposite sides of the bar in Ruben’s ultra-modern kitchen, John quietly began to explain that after he left the Etihad, he been to see you ................. Ruben instantly perked up, which was the first time John had seen him brighten all day .............. as John spoke, Ruben listened intently as he gradually revealed to him just what mental abuse you had been going through these past few months, purely as a result of being his girlfriend.
Ruben’s expression suddenly changed to one of anger and bitterness, instantly scraping his bar stool back and yanking open a kitchen drawer, grabbing his car keys to head for your place, but John swiftly blocked his path, telling him that he needed to calm down, take a step back and think things through before ‘charging in like her knight in shining armour'.
While still at Ruben’s, John called the Etihad social media team, explaining in detail the seriousness of the problem, and requesting their advice and intervention ................ Ruben couldn’t stop himself from shouting down the phone over Johns shoulder, adding exactly what he thought they should do to these trolls in no uncertain terms ........... John pulled a face, feeling frustrated as he was trying to keep the whole conversation calm, but having immediate assurances from them that they were 'on it' he thanked them and disconnected the call ………
Ruben was now pacing the kitchen, still angry and grumbling his discontent in Portuguese, and even though John had no idea what his team-mate was saying, he could imagine easily enough ……........ the next step however, was going to be a bit harder to achieve…….. getting City’s number 3 to calm down long enough so John could advise Ruben of his ‘clever’ plan of approach for winning you back into his life forever ...................
Part 5 to follow soon .............
