life candle headcanons

for obey march, day eight: candles

the flame's color depends on the species of the soul the candle represents. angels' candles burn white, humans' have their signature orange/red, and demons' flames are black. but for all three, the color of smoke is grey

all candles are one-of-a-kind works of art. some are the standard tall candle, some have shaped wax, some are carved, etc. intricate details are etched into the wax, often of symbols, patterns, and even scenes connected to the life of the candle's person.

loved one's candles will often be grouped together, sometimes even touching. the reapers have noticed that when candles are in these groups, they melt slower than the ones who are alone.

they're scented, the smell being significant to the person in some way, like a specific food or location. the scents are very faint, up until the wax has melted and the flame has gone out - then the smoke rises, and the smell fills the air before filtering away, like the person saying their final goodbye.

⤷ lucifer’s primary love languages are quality time and physical touch. seldom are his days off, so it’s unsurprising that he wants to relish in every moment spent with you, indulging you in a myriad of kisses, hugs, and warm, loving smiles. there’s nowhere else he’d rather be than with his lover. he can get pretty cling, you know?

⤷ mammon’s primary love languages are receiving/giving gifts and words of affirmation. if a trinket catches his eye and happens to remind him of you, he just has to get his hands on it. after all, nothing beats the smile on his face once he presents it to you — well, maybe there’s one thing that beats it — the subsequently soft gaze in your eyes and the way you say “I love you”.

⤷ leviathan’s primary love languages are acts of service and quality time. no time is better spent than when the two of you cuddle up together in his room for hours on end, working together to defeat a particularly difficult game level; with levi’s help, you feel as though you can take on the world. moreover, he wants you to remember that his help and guidance aren’t limited to games.

⤷ satan’s primary love languages are words of affirmation and physical touch. although he fervently denies it, sometimes his insecurities get the best of him, and the only thing that can effectively keep them at bay is you — your love, your embrace. any anger swelling within his chest dissipates at the feeling of your lips against his.

⤷ asmodeus’ primary love languages are physical touch and acts of service. his cuteness aggression goes absolutely wild at the sight of you — how could he not want to squeeze your cheeks and eat you up (in every sense of the word)? someone so cute also deserves things done for them, don’t they? asmo certainly believes so, and he always spoils and pampers you absolutely rotten.

⤷ beelzebub’s primary love languages are quality time and receiving/giving gifts. his thoughtfulness knows no bounds, and he always comes home with a tasty treat that he bought with you in mind, looking forward to sitting down with you and enjoying your snacks together. he’s managed to memorize all of your preferences, and not just when it comes to food, either!

⤷ belphegor’s primary love languages are physical touch and quality time. all day he itches to pull you into bed, nuzzling his cheeks into your chest and mumbling something about how much he missed you. you’ll indulge him, won’t you? once he’s gotten you wrapped up in his arms, you’re all his for the rest of the night.

It was something you noticed over time.

A hearty clap on your back, a gentle hand over your shoulders, a lingering warmth on your heated cheeks.

Skinship was something he liked.

And before long, with your reciprocation, it developed into something more.

You will never forget his startled gasp when you first reached out and took his hand into your own.

For a demon of his size (and rank), he certainly was love-shy. How cute.

His trembling hands caressed the sides of your face (so cute!!).

“Y/N, may I?”

Instead of gracing him with a reply, you tiptoed forward and gave him a little peck on the lips. That shall be your reply to your cute, blushing prince.

“–! I’ll take that as a yes then.”

Barbatos

Love Language(s): Acts of Service (but uno reverse x2) and Quality Time

This talented demon liked to spend his time pampering helping others, and in particular, you.

He seemed to be anywhere and everywhere, just a step away or even ahead, when help was required.

And when he wasn’t at his lord’s side, he could be found by yours.

There was certainly nothing impossible for him.

He had assured you multiple times that it was of his own volition. That your happiness is his reward.

While you don’t necessarily dislike this service, you wanted to do something for your lover too. That’s right! Your lover!!

Suddenly motivated, you decided to have a go at cooking for him. He did make a passing remark about his interest in your hometown’s cuisine.

Probably because he wanted to make it for you, but anyway-

He came after receiving your dinner invitation, earlier than the arranged timing, just as you had expected.

Noticing his curiosity towards the bubbling pots on the stove, you happily list out all the dishes you have prepared. Prepared especially for him, you emphasised.

“Why, that’s— Let me help you plate them, at least.”

You shot down his idea immediately. That he, the guest-of-honour, should just sit pretty. He doesn’t complain, but seems... almost embarrassed.

"Alright, but... Let’s make it together next time, shall we?"

That small, fond smile adorning his face was your reward. You finally understood why he liked seeing your smile so much now.

levi/barbatos is currently rotating in my head rn and is tumbling like clothes in a dryer so you know what? headcanon list time lets go I thank you the total of like 5 people who will end up reading this they mean the world to me okay?

LEVIBARB HEADCANONS

Leviathan falling for Barb first, and man does he fall hard

He starts crushing on the butler when he fixes his cosplay; Levi had ordered it and it showed up damaged and ripped. Barbatos got around to fixing it before Levi could, and he hadn't even asked him to do so

It's just the idea of that Barb is so cool. Like cooler than anyone that Levi knows

He can bake, sew, he knows curses and spells, has wisdom on just about anything and everything--he's the cool type in dating sims. A kuudere, if you will, but even cooler

I don't think Levi has ever had a real crush on someone before. like don't get me wrong he has so many characters from his games and anime that he would do just about anything for, but I don't think he's really harbored those feelings for someone that is not in a computer screen

i like to think levi would then be so obvious about his crush on the butler, while the thinks he's being cool about it. everyone in a five mile radius knows about it lol

and ofc barbatos knows about it. like how could he not? levi isn't exactly secretive about it. the demon started to come over a lot more and try to find excuses to hang out with the butler

Barb humored him tho, because he did find him kinda cute. but more like in a way one would feel towards a sopping wet cat they found on the side of the street. he found it funny that levi was at times even willing to help him with things like baking or tending to the gardens, even when he wasn't good at either of those things

At some point it changed, though. Barbatos isn't sure when, but there is a point where it changes from him humoring Levi for the fun of it and into enjoying the other's company

Such an odd pair, tbh. They both know it but they are good for each other me thinks

Like??? As I've discussed Barb starts to genuinely enjoy Lev's company. He starts to laugh and smile more, acting less stoic even when Levi wasn't around

And Levi acting like a high school girl in love??? That's the good shit lol 💞💞 he is so much happier with life and the outside world and even came to terms with Barb being a normie! Because he is willing to learn <33

because!!! because Barb is open to learning about Levi's interests. Levi helps him interact kitchen (even though he isn't the best at baking) and he tends to the garden with him (even though he isn't all that knowledgeable on plants), and seeing as levi indulges in his hobbies, why not enjoy is free time in what levi likes?

Besides, levi just looks so happy when barb offers to play a game or watch an anime with him. and yeah barb fucking sucks ass at the games and has to politely ask levi to stop pausing on each frame of the episode in order to get through it all, but its the quality time together that counts

do you think about how lucifer and the others would feel? because i think about that all the time

like again levi isn't able to keep his crush secret at all so i imagine all his brothers (sans lucifer) try and help him out. like they drop heavy hints towards barb about how levi is interested in him while levi fights off the urge to call lotan out of sheer embarrassment in order to get them to stop

mammon so takes credit for those two getting together; levi was late for his first date because asmo wouldnt let him leave until he approved of his outfit; lucifer is holed away in his office, demonous in hand, trying not to think about his brother going out with diavolo's butler

like. i am sure diavolo would support it and would be extremely happy for barbatos that he found someone that makes him happy. but lucifer? he is speaking through gritted teeth of how happy he is for levi. he is definitely fine about this decision because his brother is a grown demon and can make his own decisions but he will be processing his feelings with a bottle or two (or three) of demonous later that night

and just....Levi being so awkward on the first few dates?? i mean im sure he will always be awkward when he's around Barb but like?? poor thing is a mess lmao

idk man something something barb brings such a huge comforting feeling to levi and levi gives barb a breath of fresh air into his life and something something they give strength to each other to leave comfort zones and live for something that makes them happy

Day 2. Differences and Similarities

Obey Me March 2024 Prompts by @solomiracle

A look at two of my MCs. I've mentioned Endy before, and Six is this monstrosity. Here are some areas in which they share both similarities and differences.

Gender? What Gender? Is that a thing? Sounds fake.

Both are gender neutral MCs with fairly androgynous designs.

However, Six is nonbinary (they/them pronouns) whereas Endy simply can't remember their gender and is referred to as 'it' by the cast without having an actual interest in adopting a nonbinary gender identity.

Character Influence.

Both draw heavily from original characters of mine that I've already had for a long time.

But Endy was consciously made from a character ("Mickey") and very little was done to change their design. Their personality is kind of similar to Mickey's, but not very.

Six, on the other hand, was inadvertently made to resemble my OC named Keiko, who is a morally dubious mycologist with no filter and an unquenchable curiosity about the world around her. Six is what I've come to call the MC made from my dear friend Clown Anon's suggestion, and when I realized how close to Keiko they were, I got very attached to them. But they don't particularly resemble each other. Different hair styles and colors, both have glasses but they don't look the same, Keiko is fem presenting...

Unromanceable Otome Main Characters.

Despite the nature of the game their universe was designed around, neither Six nor Endy would be a character who would be romantically involved with any of the cast.

In Endy's case, this is obviously because they are a child.

In Six's case, it's because I can't fathom any member of the cast not being either repulsed or irritated to death by them. Solomon is the only possible exception, but Six would be much more interested in testing the limits of his immortality than kissing.

What's in a Name?

Neither of them goes by a normal name. Six? Endy? What the hell? These are clearly nicknames.

The number six probably represents something meaningful to the character, but I'll be honest, I haven't actually given it any thought yet, so watch this space I guess.

Endy is just a phoneticized "ND". ND was short for Not Damien, which is what Mammon called Endy when learning they didn't remember their name. And the reason they're not Damien, specifically, is that Damien was the name of the exchange student they were trying to summon when they accidentally picked up Endy instead, so Endy's DDD, which had been set up for this Damien individual, identifies them as Damien, and everyone who gets a text from them sees it as coming from 'Damien'.

Honestly, I just somehow decided to draw them both today and spent hours on it so I figured I'd incorporate it into this prompt meme. Forgive me.
