Tumblr media
Pairing: Poly! Jeong Yunho x reader x Song Mingi

Synopsis: You can't remember when was the last time you spent time with them, the last "I love you", the last time any of them kissed you.
Other chapters: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
NOTES: This was a nightmare to write, between the holidays and writer’s block, I wanted to die. I hope you like it. If you enjoy my work, please consider buying me a coffee . I promise next chapter will contain SMUT, so beware of that.
“What are you doing, Y/n?” Said Yunho as soon as he dragged you out of the club.
“What are YOU doing, Yunho? How the fuck did you know I was here?” You stumbled backwards, anxiety and alcohol are not a good combo.
“I came to talk, Minho brought me here. I have spent every single day of the last three months trying to find and talk to you, and all this time you were doing this?” Hurt in his voice, his face red and eyes glossy. You examined him for a second, deep dark eyebags sunken his eyes, his lips cracked and pale, and his once broad chest now looked thinner, bony. He looked so different, you almost couldn’t recognize him.
“It’s not like that…” He cut you off.
“Then, how is it? Because to me it looked like you were making out with your so-called best friend. Explain it to me, Y/n.”
“I don’t have to explain shit to you.” You stomped, getting closer, “You have a lot of nerve coming in here and accusing me of anything,” You jabbed your finger against his chest again and again. “We are not together. You drove me away. You broke my heart.” Tears of anger streamed down your face, and your wounded heart disintegrated with each word.
“I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry, please come home with me, we can talk and…”
You turned around when you heard Han coming out of the club, Minho right behind him, following a very angry-looking Christopher.
“Bang Chan, calm down!” Said Minho.
“What are you doing here, Jeong?” Chan intervened, pushing you behind him.
“This doesn’t concern you, Chan. Please let me talk to her.” He tried going past Chris.
“Why don’t you leave her alone? She doesn’t want to see you. Fuck off.” Chan’s voice laced with venom, alcohol and rage ran through his veins, clouding his judgment.
“Chan.” The taller man tried again.
“Fuck you, Yunho. Where were you before when she needed you, huh?” Chris pushed the taller man, “Where were you when she spent every single night crying herself to sleep?” Push. “Where were you when she felt worthless?” Push.
“Chan, stop. You are drunk.” Han said.
“That’s right. You were not there, but guess who was? Me. I spent every single minute comforting her, reassuring her that it was not her fault, and helping her move on.”
“Oh, I am well aware of how much you would love for her to get over us, I’ve known it for a long time.” Yunho pushed back, “But I’ll be dead the day I let that happen.”
“Yunho, please stop.”
“I fucked up, okay? I’m not saying I didn’t, but I want to fix it. If I have to get on my knees I will, if I have to beg I will, whatever you want me to do I’ll do it. Please give me a chance.” Yunho said kneeling.
“Yunho.” You said in tears.
Chan scoffed, shaking his head, “Why should you get a second chance?”
Minho physically cringed, he knew it wasn’t about Yunho and Mingi getting a chance to redeem themselves, it was about Chan not getting the same opportunity.
“Chan, buddy, please back off.” He said while grabbing his friend by the shoulders.
Chan shook him off. He looked at you, “Y/n you know best. Please don’t go back to them.” He pleaded with what little strength he had left. But you could only see a begging Yunho on the floor, a mix of emotions reflected in your eyes, anger, fear, but on top of them was longing. He could feel his heart break all over again, he would never be at the receiving of those feelings. The door had closed a long time, and even if you didn’t know it, he did, it would never open again. He needed to get away from the scene. A knot forming in his throat, all his bottled-up love dying in his chest, he was going to throw up.
“Y/n, please come home, we can talk, we won't pressure you or anything, just please, please come home.” Yunho extended his hand your way.
You turned to look at Chan, but he no longer was there. You found Jisung’s eyes, looking for an answer in them. On one hand, your heart craved him, wanting nothing more than for him to take you in his arms. But then the more rational part of your brain reminded you of the hell you went through in the last months. Could you go back to them? And if not, could you live without them? Your best friend looked you in the eyes, worry and uncertainty filled them, but in the end, he simply nodded.
Yunho was waiting for you, silently begging for you to take his hand, to come back to them. And when you finally did, you could see the way his entire body relaxed, you couldn’t blame him, a part of you also felt at peace after all this time.
“This doesn’t mean we are back together; I hope you know that.” You whispered to him.
“I know.” He looked around for Minho, “We are taking a cab, I don’t want to bother you anymore.” He nodded back.
Jisung approached and gently embraced you in his arms. “Call me, okay?”
“Hannie, about Chan…” He cut you off.
“Don’t worry about him, we’ll take care of that.” He gave you a weak smile, before turning to his husband.
-------------------------------------------------------
Yunho opened the door as soon as the cab arrived, sat next to you and told the driver where to go. Your heart was almost beating out of your chest, sweaty hands gripped the ends of your skirt, and eyes that didn’t dare look away from the window.
“Are you cold?” He said, already taking his jacket off to give it to you.
“No, no, I’m okay.” Your brain made a connection a second later, “Wait, where’s…”
His phone went off like crazy, texts and calls showed up all at the same time, he pulled out of his pocket revealing the contact, “Shit.” He pressed to answer.
“Hey, Mingi, did you…” You could hear the exasperated voice of the younger man behind the phone, not being able to make out what he was saying.
“No, Mingi, I’m…” Cut off again.
“I know, but please…” Again.
“Will you …” And again.
You couldn’t help but laugh a little bit. Oh, how you missed them.
“Mingi, will you please just shut up?” He whispered, “Listen, go home, I’m on my way there.”
Mumbling.
“You can leave, umm she’s, umm she’s with me.” He said as if he couldn’t believe the words coming out of his mouth.
Mumbling.
“Go home, we’ll meet you there.” He hung up.
An uncomfortable silence filled the car, you didn’t know where to look, or what to do or say. Yunho was in a similar situation. Twice you caught him almost putting his hand on your knee, before remembering the situation you were in, muscle memory it must have been.
You knew the streets on your way to their place, left turn here, right turn there. A convenience store you used to walk to late at night to get ramen when you couldn't sleep. A dog park they swore you would go to with a new puppy when things “calmed down” at work. It made your heart sink to remember what you used to be, what you used to have.
So lost in your head, you didn’t notice the ride had ended, Yunho handed the driver some money and immediately took your hand, getting out of the car. The nerves getting worse each second, you could feel yourself shaking. The alcohol in your stomach bubbling threatening to make its way back up.
And then you saw Mingi.
He was sitting outside the door, his head between his knees, gently rocking himself back and forth, and you could hear some mumbling but couldn’t quite get what he was saying. He looked so small, so fragile, and while it wasn’t your fault, you couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty. Without thinking you approached him, kneeling by his side.
“Hello, Mingi.” You whispered.
He had been so into his thoughts he almost fell back when he heard you. His chest went up and down quickly, trying not to choke on the anxiety, his eyes doubting who they were seeing, but he tried to compose himself. “Hey, Y/n.” His hands shifted, but he tensed to prevent them from touching you, not wanting to make you uncomfortable.
A few moments went by, neither of you knowing what to say. “Why don’t we go in? We have a lot to talk about and it's freezing cold out here.” You had almost forgotten Yunho was also there.
“Okay.”
-------------------------------------------------------
Minho and Jisung didn’t have a clue what to say on the ride back home. Chan was in the backseat, His head resting against the window, small tears threatening to come out of his eyes, but he wouldn’t let them, not until he was sure no one would see him.
“Chan.” Jisung tried.
“Don’t, just don’t.”
“Chan, you know this is for the best. They need to solve whatever is going on…” Minho started but was quickly cut off by the older man.
“And you were so eager to help them do that, weren’t you?”
“Chan, that’s not…”
“Leave it alone, Minho. You’ve done enough.”
Jisung didn’t want to give up just yet, “Channie, please. Minho would never do anything to hurt you, but you know she’s still in love with them, and…”
“Don’t you think I know that? I have seen it every single day for the last few months. I have seen her cry every goddamn night because she missed them. I’ve seen her reading their conversations again and again. Hell, I have heard everything single fucking detail about those two, I did it then and I did it now. But tonight, for a single moment in almost six years, she didn’t think about them, she didn’t see them in me, it was only me and her. She kissed me. She wanted me. For once, she was mine again.”
Minho felt bad for what was about to come from his lips, but it needed to be done, “Then why did she leave with Yunho?” The car stopped.
And Chan got off, slamming the door on his way out.
-------------------------------------------------------
The three of you were sitting on the floor of the living room. Yunho was leaning against an old couch Seonghwa had gifted you when you all moved in together. Mingi was next to a shabby coffee table you used to use as an “everything” table when you couldn’t afford anything else. You haven’t lived here in months, yet it still felt like home.
You had rehearsed thousands of times what you would say to them if you ever were in this situation. All the things that they did or said that made you die on the inside, you would cry and scream all you wanted and they would have to listen. You would tell Yunho how much you hated how cold he had turned. Tell Mingi how tired you were of him always coming home in a bad mood. Tell them how much you had missed them emotionally, and also physically, how they hadn’t stopped to look at you in months, let alone even touched you.
But as opposed to all the scenarios in your head, your mouth was dry.
“I’m sorry.” Mingi was the first who dared to speak, you wouldn’t have been able to hear him if you weren’t sitting next to him. “I’m so sorry about everything we did, I’m sorry for taking you for granted, I’m sorry about neglecting you, I’m sorry I was not there when you needed me, I’m sorry for not listening, I’m sorry for making you leave, I’m sorry for…” And so, the word vomit began, it came laced with months and months of tears Mingi didn’t know he had yet to spill.
“Okay, okay. Mingi, calm down.” You moved closer to him, wiping his cheeks.
“Nothing’s okay if you are not here, Y/n. I’m not okay if you are not here, Yunho is not either.” He pointed to Yunho.
You turned to look at the taller man, only to find him in an equal or worse state than the man in front of you, “I’m so sorry, my love.” He said between gasps.
Seeing them like this was enough to put you in the same state.
“I miss you so much, Y/n,” Yunho said while coming close to you. Both of them surrounded you, trapping you between their arms and sobs. “I’m sorry for being an asshole, for not making you my priority.”
“We will do anything, whatever you want you’ve got it, just please don’t leave again, please,” Mingi begged.
“Okay, let's talk, please?”
They both nodded and so the night began.
-------------------------------------------------------
“You have to talk to me about how you are feeling, you cannot bottle up and expect me to be okay with not knowing what’s going on in your life.” You said leaning against the couch, playing with Mingi’s fingers.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t want to trouble you.”
“It doesn’t bother me. Yeah, I may not know all those fancy law terms you and Jongho use all the time,” He giggled, “but I want to know if things are going well, if you are having trouble with a client or if you are stressed about a case, and not find out by Jongho calling me to tell me how much of an asshole you are being at work.”
He groaned, “That fucking brat always tells on me.”
“And you,” You looked at Yunho, “when are going to stop that childish rivalry with Minho? You are both grown adults, he’s married and you are engaged, for god’s sake.” You spoke without thinking.
“I’m still engaged?” He looked at you, a little smirk on his face.
“You know what I mean.” You nudged slightly. Mingi was looking at you with the same look on his face, making you blush deeply.
Between laughs and memories, Yunho’s bright look decomposed. His eyebrows furrowed and his lips tightened in a line, he straightened himself and cleared his throat, “There is one thing I want to talk about.”
Both of you looked at him.
“Back at the club, and I know I don’t have any kind of right to complain, but,” He gulped, “What is going on with Chan.”
Oh, right. That.
“Um…, I…, um…” Trying to find the right words. Mingi straightened himself, confused about what Yunho was talking about.
“We won’t be mad; I only want to know if something is going on.”
“Well, um…, Han noticed I was a little distracted tonight, he knew I was still thinking about you two. And until that point, I didn’t know if we were over for good. So…” You scratched your eyebrow, “he suggested it may be time to move on, and that Chan could help me with that.” You mumbled that last part.
Silence.
“I thought Jisung liked us,” Mingi said, trying to lighten up the situation.
“And he does, he was just trying to be a good friend to me.”
“Did something else happen?” Yunho said directly. He needed to know.
You shook your head, “No, it was barely even a kiss.”
“If I hadn’t been there to stop it, would it have turned into anything else?”
“Yunho.” Mingi tried to stop him.
“It’s not fair of you to ask me that.”
“So, it would have.”
“Yunho.” Mingi tried again.
“I don’t know, okay? I have no clue what would have happened.” Your voice escalated.
“Did you think about it?” He kept going.
“What?”
“Did you ever think about doing it? Tonight, or any other night?”
“Okay, that’s enough. You have no fucking right to reproach me for anything, we are not together.” You got up, needing to get away from him.
“I have spent every single night crying myself to sleep because you are not here, Y/n. It hasn't even crossed my mind to move on from you.” He stood up.
“Don’t act like I’m the one who fucked up like I cheated or something.” You grabbed your bag and pulled down your skirt, “This was a mistake, I never should have come here.”
That’s when Mingi saw red sirens in his head, “No, no Y/n, please. Yunho, calm down. Please, let’s calm down.” The poor thing was a mess.
“I’m not going to stay here to hear him accusing me of things that never happened.”
“Yunho’s sorry, tell her you didn’t mean it.”
Yunho’s shoulder slumped, defeated, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean what I said. It’s… When I saw you two, I thought I had lost you. I saw all my fears from back in college coming true.”
“What fears?”
He looked at Mingi, who only nodded back. “Back when we had just started dating, we were a bit worried you felt like this relationship was… too much. You would want something more conventional. A relationship where people wouldn’t turn their heads to know why three people are holding hands and kissing. Or one where you didn’t have to answer, how does it work? Over and over again.” His voice cracked at the end.
Mingi took over, “You never told us about Chan, we found out because Jisung talked about it once when he was drunk. We worried there was something else there, some unresolved feelings, I don’t know. And that someday you would go back to him. Throughout the years that fear dissolved, but when we knew you were staying with him. Well, we didn’t know what to think.”
“Whatever I had with Chan ended the day I met you, I’ve only wanted you since that night. Why didn’t you talk to me?”
“As you’ve seen, we are not the best at communication.” Yunho let out a nervous laugh. “I’m so sorry, for all the things I said. It wasn’t my place to ask.”
You got closer to him, “I’m sorry for getting so defensive.” You took his face in your hands, caressing his lip with your thumb, “I love you, Yunho.”
“I love you too.”
“And I love you.” You said taking Mingi’s hand in yours, “but I want you both to understand things are not completely okay because I’m here. I need to know what I’m getting myself into, I can’t go back to feeling like that. I need to be sure it won’t happen again, I get you both being busy, but neglecting me is a whole other story. We’ll go step by step, okay?”
“Can I kiss you?”
“Mingi, we talked about going slow.”
“I know, I know. I can’t believe you are back here.” He leaned closer, “so, can I?”
And you may be aching,
“Yes, please.” You whispered against his lips.
But you were also weak.

When I got the call that Y/N Y/L/N wanted to do the article with Vogue, and that I was appointed as the writer I remember thinking ‘What will I say?’. There isn’t much to prepare you when a celebrity like her decides she wants you in her home, opening up about her hardships with you there to listen and write it all down. But, alas, I put my nerves beside me and took all of the questions the world wanted answers to, to the only woman who could answer them.
Her house in the English countryside is just as perfect as you would expect. With dark mahogany floors, potted plants everywhere and white walls that are filled with different memories she framed, Y/L/N’s home is made for those who love the feeling of being at home. It brims with a cosy feeling, from the rugs she picked which bring an unexpected, yet welcome, warmth, to the open space that shows off her beautiful backyard. Y/L/N’s house is nothing short of exceptional. If each room were to speak to me they would all rave about how comfortable they feel, how there is no other that feel like a ‘home’ quite like theirs.
The moment I arrived at her front door, she was the one to open the door and greet me with a hug. There was no one but us at her house, nothing but the comfortable silence and the occasional chirping of a bird. Her outfit was casual, with some Stella McCartney jeans, a Prada silk blouse which she wears with the top 3 buttons open, and a pair of Hermes sandals, it all made her look relaxed whilst still looking polished. She offered me a single-couch to sit down on, offering me different options of beverages she proudly concocted. I opted for a refreshing blueberry lemonade, while she had an already drunk, half-full glass of orange juice.
After what seemed like forever without her presence on red carpets, premieres or her famous F1 paddock appearances, Y/N Y/L/N created an enjoyable life for herself. She admits that even though there have been many hardships, she has pushed through them as best as she can. “Sometimes you just have to take a break, take a moment to look around and wonder what you really need.” She expresses, “This life isn't for everyone. I am very happy with how things turned out for me, and there is not one day I regret what I’ve done. But, there are moments in which things get out of control and space is needed.”
On the outside, Y/L/N has always appeared to the masses as someone who never falters in her step. From her modelling debut when she was freshly 18 years old, turning herself into the face of Prada back in 2012 when the whole world wondered ‘Just who is this girl?’. It wasn't long before she delved into the acting world, with her first role in 2014 for the critically acclaimed film ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ as ‘Agatha’. Everyone loved her, wondering what her next move would be, so the whole world was shaken when just a year later she released an album. ‘Honeymoon’ took the world by a storm, with emotional lyrics that only added to the mystery of who she was, Pitchfork said “It's an album about love, but "love", as Y/L/N sings it, sounds like mourning. The romance here is closer to addiction—something that's sought for its ability to blot out the rest of life's miseries…”. Nobody knows who drove her to write this, but the speculations never stopped, not to this day. On the inside, however, she struggled to know who she really was.
She talks about not having the right skills to cope with the sudden fame, how overwhelming it all would really be. Still, she never stopped putting out new content for her fans. Nobody could forget the girl who despite all the luxury that surrounded her, uploaded vlogs to youtube about her life. No one could take away her raw authenticity.
Maybe that is why when in May of 2022 her posts on Instagram, Twitter and Youtube came to a sudden halt, fans wondered what happened to her. What made Y/N Y/L/N drop from the face of the earth? Why did she stop appearing everywhere?
The talk never ceased, the world could not let go of the woman they had grown up with and learned to love over a decade ago. “It was weird seeing all those rumours while I battled to know who I was. I tried as hard as I could to drown it all out, so I uninstalled every single social media app I had. I ended my connection with the world to reconnect with myself.” She says. “It was hard, but it was truly what I had wanted for a while.”
Since she appeared in the spotlight, her relationships or lack of, has been questioned. “I watched my female peers struggle to get away from their love lives, how every interviewer didn't care for the projects they were in, but rather who they were with at the time.” She recalls. “I was in a relationship with who I thought was the love of my life, for almost 7 years. It is rather jarring coming to terms that sometimes people grow, and that you are the one that needs out of a relationship which is nothing short of special. My concept of love was tarnished by a guy who was older than me, and another guy who was just as immature as I was. So naturally, I was swept off my feet when suddenly, all I ever knew wasn't how I thought it was.”
Even now, after the heartbreaking experience she went through, Y/L/N only has kind words to say about the man she loved. “He is a true gentleman, he knew me like no one else did. I guess, along the way, I stopped knowing myself. That was the problem.” She says. “How can someone else know me when I don't even know myself? I asked myself that a lot. I like to think I know myself better now, I learned how to love every part of me, and that was the most rewarding journey. It wasn’t his fault, but I couldn't love someone else without loving me first.”
Self Love is a very important part of her life now. She puts her well-being over her need to succeed, something that made her iconic, was destroying her slowly. “Being an ‘icon’ to many stuck me in a box. There was an underlying feeling of having to always outperform others and myself, it was exhausting and that was how I started losing sight of myself.”
When talking about her future projects, Y/L/N expressed that she was “taking her time”. No more would she be walked over and feel pressured to put out new content, opting for a more relaxed and controlled lifestyle. Though she once was everywhere everyday, she now hopes to be mentioned when she does something valuable and not when she is merely existing.
“I do have an EP coming out. It is just four songs, but I wrote them alone, and they are my most special songs to date.” She says. “One thing I do not want happening is for people I care for to be harassed or accused of things they are not responsible for. Music is a creative outlet for me, it is never made with the intention to hurt anyone.” She adds. “‘things i wish you said’ is my favourite. It’s the first one I wrote after my breakup, which makes it the rawest out of all of them. I think that's why I like it so much, the other three were written in different periods of my life, some even years ago. It will be fun seeing everyone dissect them.”
She decided to keep the EP to just four songs because all the others were too personal or she decided to keep them for another time. “I’m sure the world would love to know all the nooks and crannies of my past relationship, but that is something I would like to keep between him and me. I am ready to move on from all the pain, to leave it all in the past. If people want to remain stuck there, that is their own choice, I choose to be free and continue growing.”
Y/L/N’s journey is far from finished. She has not even turned 30 yet, but she redirects her narrative because it just does not fit her anymore. She is not that young 18 year-old girl who knows nothing, but rather a 28 year-old woman “ready to move on” as she puts it.
At that point in our conversation, her previously relaxed demeanour has only grown. With her legs tucked on the black leather couch she has in her wide living room, an arm resting on a deep magenta pillow, she is in her own space. Y/L/N smiles and pays attention to every question I ask, she has no qualms in sharing. Though she sometimes opted to give no comment about certain situations, not once did she feel offended or made me feel out of place.
As our conversation came to an end, she gave me one final piece of advice: “Only you can decide what's best for you. Once you learn how to manage other people’s opinions, there is nothing that can truly stop you from being uniquely you. Love yourself, you have one life, why live it in misery?”

Chapter 5
Life, as you fear, is falling apart as you're confronted with a serious case of writer's block that puts your career on the line. As a solution, you're roommate helps you plan a solo trip to the Amalfi Coast for a much needed break but it doesn't take long for you to meet a certain Monegasque who lays passed out on the beach.
Tumblr media
For years, you spent time behind a screen, mindlessly running after Eleanor with a notepad, messy hair sticking out like a madwoman. It must’ve been quite the sight for your fellow colleagues. A constant cycle of proving yourself to others—to your own fucking parents—that what you were doing was going to be all worth it at the end. It was only right that you were utterly exhausted.
Now suddenly, there’s this boy. He has the prettiest watercolor eyes you’ve even had the pleasure of admiring, the cutest dimples, a charming nose, most feathery lashes, pinkest lips, and above all; a heart of gold. You’ve been thrown the toughest battles—the kind you would’ve fought alone if it weren’t for Amelia and Roman—but the universe has rewarded you.
In the span of a month, Charles has completely won you over. From his boyish grin to his dominating smirk. There was just something about him that fell into place with you; like a puzzle piece. The Monegasque never failed to make you feel giddy all over, butterflies soaring freely inside your stomach.
Only now, there were a different type of eyes lurking back at you. Livid, you almost flinched at the thought of them turning red. Resentful, the kind you only thought you knew. Broken, like the glass plate laying at your feet.
But the worst had to be the betrayal, written all over them.
And you knew at that moment. This was the last and only summer.
-
“Wouldn’t it be scary if I just zip down because a shark bit my leg?” you ponder, gently threading through the tides. The green eyed boy tilts his head in amusement. If he hadn’t taken the time to understand your wild imagination, or dark humor, then he would’ve rolled his eyes and yawned. Instead, he slowly nudges your calf, lighthearted, droplets sliding down his face.
“Not so much as scary, but rather impossible. Sharks don’t swim near the Amalfi Coast.” You nod, though there’s a skeptical aura that lingers as you fix your snorkel. The brunette sneaks a loving glance, taking in your rosy state, scrunched nose when you swallow a gallon of sea salt water. He laughs. “You should keep an eye out for jellyfish, eh. Now those are a problem.”
“Jellyfishes and I are friends. They would never intentionally hurt me. C’mon, let's go back.”
The day had started early. Four fucking a.m. The Monegasque had hurled you out of bed, declaring that time was running out and he needed to spend all of it with you. The day prior, he had promised he would always text, call, and visit. It made your heart flutter and pounce all at the same time.
Hence, snorkeling. It was a fun and quick activity, so naturally you agreed with a killer pout as you squinted at the bright sun, despite it being the crack of dawn. Signaling to a glimmery oyster, you excitedly nod when he makes his way over. Once you reach the surface again, you clap with delight. “Can you open it for me?”
He doesn’t answer, but rather focuses his attention on snapping it wide. You can feel your eyes shimmer at the sight, an electrifying pearly white. Almost greedily, you pinch it in between your fingers, bringing it up to parade. “That is absolutely stunning. Oh my God, do you think I could turn it into a ring?”
His lips curl. “I’d say so.”
After that, you both settle into a comfortable silence. The sun was blazing hot at this point, and still there was a breeze. Just when your face would start to dry up, you would dip back in and beam at the Monegasque. He grins, crinkles, hugging the corner of his eyes. He allows himself to swoon when you wink up at the rays of sunshine. “So, I was thinking…”
“Mhm,” you murmur, orbs trained on your newly prize possession.
Nerves fill the brunette’s veins, sharp hands gently massaging his jaw, letting out a shaky breath. You furrow your brows, cocking your head to the side. Is everything alright? Charles sheepishly smiles. “Well, I, uh, was wondering…” He trails off when your lips wobble, hinting that you knew what this was all leading up to. “Would you like to go out on a date? With me,” he adds shyly.
“You were kind enough to seek me a gem,” you hum. “I would love to, Charles.”
“Wonderful,” he sighs in relief. “I-I-I know we sort of skipped a couple steps a few days ago,” he stutters anxiously. Your cheeks burn up at the reminder of him in between your legs. “So— but—I’m definitely glad that we’re able to—ouch!” he yelps in pain, teeth gritting. You fill up with panic, frantically eyeing the clear water.
“What? What?” you urge. “It’s a shark, isn’t it? I knew they would find a way!” The 26 year old barely had a chance to fill you in on what was really going on, but couldn’t really do much when you zoom out, popping the pearl into your mouth safely, floppy arms threading fast to the point that they became sore.
“There’s no—oh my word.” He grimaces, a painful expression mapped out as he, too, follows you out as quickly as he can. As he limps over to you, you scream, shiny jewel falling straight onto the ground.
“Charles, Charles, Charles.” Your stomach drops, fingers jittery, “There’s a jellyfish wrapped around your ankle…”
“You’re all caught up,” he grunts. “Get it off!”
You squeal when he lifts his leg up at you. “I can’t! Can’t you kick it off or something?”
He clenches his jaw, heavy pants filling the air. “And risk getting stung again? No, thank you. I drive for a living! I need this thing off.” He flings his leg and the transparent sea-creature disconnects, landing straight into the water. He stares back astonished and you simply laugh loudly and maniacally. You did it! “Yes, now pee on it.”
“Oh—hell no. What is this? A kink of yours?” Your nose scrunches up with clear disgust, as if you just caught a whiff of a baby’s diaper. Charles scowls. It’s supposed to help—do you think I want to do this? You gag, adamantly shaking your head. “No, no, I’ve read about this! We can add vinegar!” Briskly grabbing your essentials, you grip his wrist, already dragging him to his car.
He tears up—though, denies it—almost kicks you, and groans like a baby, but survives his injury. “Better?” Barely. Washing your hands, you share a stern glare. “At home remedies. Godsend.” He sulks deeper into his seat, wet hair trapping his face. Once you dry your hands, you plop down next to him, pecking his lips. “Grump.”
A beady eye pops open before snapping back shut. “I’d like to see you get stung.” You gasp theatrically, playfully swatting his shoulder. He chuckles, hauling you atop of him. You almost giggle like a teen, but manage to tune it out. “How ‘bout our date?”
“How about you rest? Cha, we can go out tomorrow.”
His bright eyes dim. “But we only have a few days left…”
Your mood comes crashing down as well, downcast eyes flickering like fireflies. “Then I should get ready, no?” His lips turn upward. “Meet me by the door in fifteen.”
It’s a rush, digging through your suitcase, trying to find the perfect dress, the perfect flats. You lose a good chunk of hair as you comb through it, due to the salty water, but manage. You briskly fly through your makeup routine, slather your body with perfume and lotion, and dash back downstairs, finding him already standing there.
Charles was at edge up until that moment. His tenseness slips away as soon as he sees you, looking as beautiful as ever. There’s a harsh tan going on, but even that makes you all the more breathtaking. He’s not too bad himself and you know it when you blush. From his linen navy blue shirt to his denim jeans, you swoon.
“You smell like honey,” he stammers. “You look lovely.”
“Grazie.” A beat. “You got a few new ones.”
He’s generally a cool guy, but you always strike him with some type of new feeling. He burns up, softly grazing his nose where a few freckles pop up. “That always happens when I’m out in the sun for too long. Ready?” You purse your lips, skipping towards him.
When you were eight, you had your first date. You suppose that really depends on how you see it. You mother had tried to become friends with a few ladies from the local book club and you always found yourself tagging along. Obligated, more so. His name was Joey and he had two missing teeth, so every time he spoke, a lisp would come through. It made you giggle cutely as you would lick your melted ice cream off your forearm. Eventually, your mother felt the right to storm out, pulling you away, and you never saw or heard of him again.
At eighteen, you had your last. You should've known from his name alone. James. He was tall, blond, a complete know-it-all, but he had noticed you. The crush slowly died the moment his eyes trailed to the next pretty girl, and the next, and the next.
Now, you’re mid-twenties and this feels like the right choice. He isn’t missing a row of teeth, he buys you ice cream and never once rushes you, he’s tall and proud, and has a set of chocolate curls. Most importantly, he has eyes for you and only you. It was as sweet as it could get.
“Can I ask you something?” Charles raises a brow, humming along. Twirling your pasta against the metal fork, you prop your chin on your palm. “What were you doing that day at the beach? Where we first met.”
Crimson red slashes his already burnt face as he chokes on his wine. “I wouldn’t want to ruin your perspective over me.” He drums his long fingers. “I was taking a nap.”
“Oh, well, I know that, but you were basically a goner!” You teasingly whistled. “I’m a curious little monkey, so please, enlighten me.”
The Monegasque tsks, relaxing his wide shoulders. He circles the restaurant instantly before leaning in across the table. “That day I was feeling particularly stressed. I was dealing with a lot of things and I don’t remember much after that. Except when a friend gave me a so-called magic potion.” He takes a sip to fix his dry throat. “Oh it did wonders, I tell you.” Absolute wonders, he mouths.
Your eyes widen. “Like…drugs?” you hiss, bewildered at the possibility. He cringes and nods, floppy hair bouncing. Your mouth forms a silent O, then nibble on your bottom lip, letting go. “I didn’t take you for a—”
“Me either.” You hear the sound of plates crashing down as you flinch and you both turn your attention to the apologetic waiter. The older couple look pissed, bitterly curse out the poor man, and blink as if they weren’t the vulgar ones. Charles rolls his eyes, then sighs. “I don’t think I could ever understand people like that.”
“Ruthless?”
“Took the words right out of my mouth. It’s ugly. Makes them look so out of touch with reality, which I suppose is true.” Green eyes flicker to the waiter once again before getting up to help. Tonight is really only the first time he’s gone out without his supposed disguise, so it’s obviously made your stomach flip at the thought of someone recognizing him.
Which they do.
“Charles Leclerc?” The accent is thick—and clearly Italian—as they step closer, phone already whipping out. The brunette turns, a lopsided smile drawn. “Holy shit! It’s really you! Can I please have a picture?” After a few minutes of chatter, the Monegasque excuses himself from the group, looking a bit suffocated.
“Being tackled in public? That’s what stresses you out, right?” His breath gets caught in his throat, but doesn’t make a move to shut the claim down. He answers by turning his attention to his lap. You sigh. “What did you take and who gave it to you?”
“You probably don’t even know him—Daniel. He’s quite the man, knows lots of people, and thought it would help. It did. Coke. I-it was my first and only try, I promise.”
You release a further breath. “You’re old enough to know your wrongs from rights. I trust you.” He eases up. “Doesn't mean you should rely on that.”
Charles looks up with a frown. “I feel like a fucking scumbag. I mean, does it make me a bad person to dread meeting fans sometimes? They’re always supporting me—it’s the least I could do.”
“You’re only human, Cha. You have your good and bad days. They would understand.” He shrugs, smiles, but it doesn’t quite reach his eyes. “Do you remember what you told me that day you cooked that godforsaken meal?”
He nips the air. “You said it was delicious!”
You snicker, glad to see his humor coming back. “I lied. No, but you told me I had to stop pleasing everyone around me. Focus on myself. You said that. And I advise you to do the same.”
He’s heard this countless times. With Charlotte, which he only tuned out angrily, blaming her for not understanding his duties. Carlos, narrating how he of all people should understand. Pierre, smacking his head before walking away, already annoyed that too many people had tried to help, how he got called out on repeat. But with you, he simply nodded, somewhat agreeing. Not completely, but enough. That itself was a lot when it came to him and his stubbornness. Something inside of him told him he would do whatever you asked him to. It was a scary—liberating—feeling.
The last time he felt this was with…
A wave of realization slithers across his features. Charlotte. That last person he felt this familiar feeling was for Charlotte. And even then, their relationship felt foolish compared to anything he’s ever felt for you. There were sparks flying when you fluttered your doe eyes back at him, when you called him out on anything he does with a witty sense of humor…
He’s been fucked ever since the tiny ballerina kissed the hot-headed Stormtrooper.
“My words of wisdom are pretty clever,” he voices, smirking. “You’re right. I should focus more on myself.” Pause. “Thank you. For everything. For taking the time to get to know me. Not many bother these days.”
You want to cry at the gratitude written all over his handsome face, the sound of his disbelief, like a kid who genuinely thought they’d be picked last for a game of tag.
“You're very important  to me, Charles.” You gently take his large hand into your smaller one. He stiffens. “You won’t ever forget that, right?”
“Not even if I try, no.” Then he presses a warm kiss onto your skin, and you feel him smile against it. “Anything you say or do would take me forever to overlook, to erase.” More pressure expands through your already firm chest, ragged breaths. “Something tells you’re a once in a lifetime type of person. How could I ever let that slip away?”
-
You excuse yourself in a flash, tears threatening to spill after his touch felt words. Just when you thought you couldn’t feel more two-faced, he somehow squeezes your heart around his fist, and you deserve every ounce of shame, of guilt.
After a round of paper towels that you dab as harsh as soft Kleenex, you force a bright smile in the mirror, shooting a quick thumbs up and storming back out to your date.
The 26 year old was concerned about the hazy interaction, perturbed eyes blinking as you got up as if you had just seen the Devil himself, unbeknownst that you felt like one. He’s left anxiously waiting, tapping his shoes against the shiny tiles, leg bouncing up and down with anticipation. Cursing underneath his breath, he stands up and makes his way to the women's restroom. He receives a few baffled glances when he bolts down the hallway.
“Jesus Christ,” you yelp, finding Charles right in front of you when you swing the door open. His green eyes narrow like knives, carefully analyzing your pink nose, red rimmed eyes. “You scared me—”
“What did they say to you?”
You frown. “What are you talking about?”
His hands make their way up to cradle your face, thumbs grazing your temples. You raise a neat brow. “Did anyone follow you? See you? Were they rude? My fans aren’t normally like this, I promise they’re sweet, but if they did anything to you, I swear to God—”
Instantly shaking your head, you let out a nervous giggle. “No one said anything, don’t worry. I just really had to pee. Promise.”
This is what he was most afraid of when he first opened up to you, to go out in public. Charles was terrified at the image of your privacy being invaded, much like his. For hurtful words or actions to be aimed at you. And then you blink up at him with a sour expression because he knows you just cried, he obviously grew protective. Leaning down, he meekly kisses your forehead. “What’s wrong then? You hate me that much?” he jokes.
You bite back a smile. “Something like that. How about we go somewhere dear to us?”
-
Added to the torment of what you were feeling, you didn’t think things could get any worse—and yet.
Today. By today. Get it done.
Aghast, your delicate fingers come up to your berry lips, pinching at them nervously before biting down on your thumb, re-reading Eleanor’s message. Friday. You originally had until Friday. It’s only Wednesday. Sure, only a forty-eight hour difference, but still. You wanted to hold onto the most valuable time possible if you could. You try convincing her to change her mind, but it was a worthless battle. You knew once she had her mind set on it, then that’s exactly what had to happen.
By today.
You’re sobbing, panting, your vision is blurry as you type on your phone, angry as you fiddle against the tiny screen. Who could you really be mad at? Eleanor? No. Charles? No. The universe? Tempting, but no. It was all you. If you hadn’t mentioned having a possible exclusive for the sake of saving your job, then you wouldn’t be tangled in this mess.
You can’t go down that way, it’s ladies only!
I’m terribly sorry, but I have to check on my wife.
You recognize his urgent voice, deep and raw. His words aren’t true, but it fucks you up just the same. Hurrying to slip your phone back inside your purse, you quickly fix your appearance before opening the wide door, finding Charles mid-knock.
“Jesus Christ. You scared me.”
-
“Back where we started,” the green eyed boy chirps when he spots the tiny pub that sits atop of the hill. “It feels as if we were just here yesterday. This is fantastic.”
“I didn’t think you loved it that much,” you poke fun, bumping your hip against his. His watercolor eyes flicker to yours for a brief moment, then focusing back at the old shed.
“Things can surely change in the span of a month.”
The implication was as clear as daylight, but it only flew past your head as you enthusiastically ran up, smiling back at him. Nico is still there, serving drinks with a cheshire grin, when he spots you. “I remember you! How have you been, cara mia? Is Italy treating you well enough?”
You buzz, tippy toeing as you sheepishly try to spot the main reason you came back. “Oh, definitely. I think I might stay. Do you, um, happen to have—”
“Got it right here,” he says, gloved hand wrapping around the familiar liquid. You blush, ordering a round—bottle—and making your way back to the Monegasque. As soon as the tray hits your table, he throws a dubious stare, thanking the older man. “Huge fan, Mr. Leclerc.” He extends his Ferrari merch with a timid grin. “Do you mind?”
Charles returns the warm smile. “Not at all.” He signs away sloppily, but professionally. Nico zooms cheerfully, eager to boast out to his co-workers. You giggle. Very nice, very nice. He shrugs nonchalantly. “Does my kind gesture get me a kiss?”
“We’ll see,” you mumble, looking away before he spots your pink cheeks.
He sighs dramatically. “Do you really think it’s for the best if you drink this crap again? Do you remember the last time you had a sip?”
“I’ll go easy. This shit is good.” Throwing your head back, you gulp down the sweet alcoholic drink, eyes squeezing tightly before you huff. “Exactly. Try some.” The brunette does, but steady, a careful eye always lingering onto you. You don’t get drunk this time—rather tipsy. You tell yourself it's because you don’t want to wake up with a killer headache tomorrow, but you know that’s far from the truth. It’s simple. You just didn’t want to forget the last moments you had with him.
His adoration would only last so long.
Clicking your phone open, you clumsily had it over to him. Record me. He huffs, but amusement colors his orbs. “Here we go again…” You snicker playfully, marching over to the lady at the piano. You’re back, she pronounces.
“I am.” You laugh. “Do you happen to play guitar?”
She shakes her head sadly before lighting up. “But Nico does. Nico!” she screams as the man rushes over. “You play song for pretty girl standing right here?” Volentieri, he chirps, looking for his rusty instrument. After a bit of discussion, you twirl back, walking to the center stage.
“I can still recall, our last summer. I still see it all.” Charles laughs, throwing his head back like a little kid as he reminds himself to keep your phone steady. “Walks along the Seine, laughing in the rain. Our last summer, memories that remain.”
The guitar is a lone act, but fills up the room as if there were a band. Occasionally, the keys of the broken piano fill the room as you smile gently. From the way you dance to the way you smile, Charles lives for every moment, taking in your happiness.
You should have seen the foreshadowing. The song. The plates that crashed during dinner. The stare. It was all laying right out in front of you, and you stupidly chose to ignore it until it was too late.
“Our last summer, walking hand in hand…” You trail off the moment his eyes turn dark, furrowing to the screen then back to you, as if trying to come up with a possible explanation. He stands up abruptly, chair squeaking so loud that everyone’s heads turn to look. “No,” you whisper in disbelief when he walks out, leaving you like an open love letter.
“No, no, no, no, no.” Flying down the stairs, you trip a couple of times, concerned glances shared between Nico and the older lady. None of it matters as you run after Charles.
Anger must give you wings because he’s long gone when you reach the open air. Dirt crunches underneath your heels as you desperately try to catch a sign that he’s around. When he’s not, you instantly call a cab, rudely directing him to your shared Airbnb.
-
He loves you; he's sure of it the moment you tuck a strand of hair behind your jeweled ear, slightly hesitant as you try to refresh Nico’s mind over what song you wanted. He even practices a few strings before winking over at you.
He knows it the moment you reach a certain note that makes your voice crack, smiling shyly, giggling through your singing.
And you loved him all too late.
Draft is perfect. Green light, publish it. We can talk about your promotion when you get back. Congratulations. Hard work really does pay off.
He recognizes the name as soon as it blares across your screen, still recording you, spinning across the stage without a care in the world. He feels inanely invasive when he clicks on the email, but pushes the feeling away with the fact that this appeared to be good news, and was there really any harm to that?
Charles Leclerc: The Man Behind the Helmet.
He reads through, spotting your name swiftly.
Sat down with him…
High on the beach—a desperate tactic to release some much needed stress during the off season…
Golden pin, prancing horse. Gifted from the late, Hervé Leclerc…
Fearful of what’s to come once Hamilton enters the picture later in 2025…
He’s skimming but it’s enough for him to wonder if he’s experiencing true headache right now. Your voice cuts off, turning pale as you blink back at him. Fury enters his veins as he storms out, not caring about what you must think. He hears you chasing after him, but manages to climb into the first cab he sees.
What he hates the most is that he still feels like a complete idiot for leaving you behind. For marching out without a single word.
For being so stupid.

‘Gleaming, twinkling,
Eyes like sinking
Ships on waters.
So inviting,
I almost jump in.’
The evening wind rushes against you, skimming the water and carrying the salty seabreeze with it. You shiver, the day is fading and you are admiring the last glimmers of light before night falls. There is still some warmth lingering in the sand, but not for much longer. You can feel the cool winds from the sea washing in with each passing moment, and seeping in through your baggy sweater. You shiver again, more out of anticipation than from the cold when you hear footsteps behind you. Your eyes remain trained on the lulling waves as a warm hand comes to rest in the small of your back, then a soft voice speaks in your ear.
“I told you to bring your coat.”
You snort and turn to look at Chan as he drapes his jacket over your shoulders. He is still wearing a thick black sweater, so you let him guide your arms through the sleeves of his jacket and zip you up without protest. He pecks your forehead then chuckles as you shuffle closer and rest your head on his chest. His arms close tight around you and he sways a little as you resume watching the sea.
“S’not that cold,” You mumble, your cheek is pressed against his chest.
“Oh, shush,” You giggle at his teasing words, “You just like to argue.”
“Not true.”
“Hmph.”
He kisses the top of your head then buries his nose there with a hum.
“Sure, babygirl.”
You sigh and shut your eyes, enjoying the sound of the ocean and Chan’s heart under your ear. Your current visit would only be brief, and you are savoring it while it lasts. The boys chose this spot for their break, finally finding time to rest between all their busy schedules. It would not be much of a vacation, but you were still thankful for the time to spend with your boyfriend and close friends.
“Oh my God,” Jisung shrieks in the distance, “I found a crab!”
“Give it to me,” Changbin demands immediately.
“Leave it alone,” Seungmin shouts over the chorus of excited responses, “Put it back! You’re scaring it!”
“Crabs don’t know fear,” Jeongin argues, “The only thing they fear is God!”
“How do you know? This one might be a crustatheist,” Minho’s joke is met with a mix of silence and groans of anguish.
You and Chan laugh together at the chaos as their voices ramp up again. You both turn to watch where your friends are gathered further down the beach. Chan slides one arm around your shoulders and pulls you in before you begin making your way towards them.
Changbin and Minho are squatting near the ground, eyes trained on the sand where a tiny crab is burrowing. Jisung steps behind them anxiously, teeth gritted and fingers curled in distress as Changbin tries to coax the creature onto a flat rock. Jeongin watches with a relaxed smile as Seungmin stands beside him while looking unimpressed.
“He doesn’t want to go on the rock,” Changbin complains.
“Leave him alone,” Seungmin mutters.
Minho roots his fingers in the sand then raises his hand, presenting the crab with a triumphant smirk.
“Got him.”
He holds it up to Jisung, who backpedals and falls gracelessly with a scream. Seungmin rolls his eyes as Changbin and Jeongin move closer to inspect Minho’s catch. Chan lets out a fond huff as Jisung recovers and scrambles over to see as well. Past the group, skipping rocks across the water, stand Felix and Hyunjin. Chan follows as you continue on towards them, arm securely pinning you to his side as a sharp breeze cuts through the otherwise calm air.
Felix notices you first and grins as you come to a stop beside him. Hyunjin’s stone plunks into the water after one skip and he whips around in a huff.
“You almost did it that time,” Felix comforts.
“Almost. Almost he says.”
Chan chuckles and steps away from you to join the game.
“I’ll teach you, Jinnie.”
“I know how to do it.”
Felix shakes his head and you giggle as Chan begins coaching Hyunjin anyway. You move closer and Felix meets you to take his spot at your side. His arms slide around your waist and pull your back to his chest as he rests his chin on your shoulder. You wrap your arms around his and you lean back as you watch your boyfriends. He squeezes you and nestles his face in the side of your neck as Hyunjin fails another attempt. You giggle as Hyunjin sits in the sand and buries his face in his hands. Chan pats his head as he laments his defeat.
“I hate rocks.”
“Rocks aren’t the problem,” Felix quips.
“Yes they are.”
You yelp as Changbin barrels into you and Felix, then throws his arms around the two of you. The three of you erupt into laughter as he spins you then buries his face in your neck. Your instinct is to shy away, but you can only fall further into Felix’s arms. He staggers but finds his balance to support the two of you as Changbin pulls back with a grin. His arms retract only for a moment, then his fingers delve under your layers to target your sides. You collapse and cackle maniacally as he tickles you relentlessly, and Felix tries to keep you on your feet.
“Cha-Changbin! What the He-ell!”
Felix eventually lets you fall so he can rescue you from Changbin’s torment, and you heave in another broken laugh as Felix traps him in a tight hug.
“What the Hell, Changbin,” Chan whines, mimicking your surprised voice.
“Shut up!”
“Changbin, what the Hell,” Hyunjin repeats, adding his own dramatic flair to his performance.
“Ugh, you all suck.”
Felix rests his head on Changbin’s shoulder and snuggles in.
“Hey, I saved you.”
“You’re snuggling with the enemy.”
“I’m not the enemy,” Changbin protests, “And you could never stop our snuggling.”
“I’ll find a way.”
“Get a room!” Jisung taunts from afar.
“What did you say?”
Changbin separates from Felix to chase after his new target, and Jisung sprints away when he realizes this. Chan flops down beside you and lays flat in the sand, his eyes falling shut as you admire him quietly. Felix comes to stand beside him as Hyunjin wanders around you aimlessly.
“Are you alright, Chris?” Felix asks softly.
“I’m perfect, Lix.”
You roll onto your side and prop your head up as Hyunjin takes a seat on the ground. He gently lifts Chan’s head onto his lap and brushes his fingers through his hair.
“Look, you got sand in your hair.”
Chan hums and smiles as Hyunjin sweeps his fingers gently over his cheek. You lay your head in Hyunjin’s lap as well and smile up at him. The wind tousles his locks as golden light shines above him, and he returns your fond gaze. Felix joins last; he sits beside Hyunjin and loops his arms around his waist, then rests his head on his shoulder. You lean up just enough to check where the rest of the group has gone, their voices fading as they wander down the beach, and Felix pats your head when it returns to Hyunjin’s lap.
“It’s so beautiful,” Hyunjin murmurs.
“Yeah,” You agree softly.
Chan opens his eyes and looks up at the sky. The blues and oranges have already begun to melt away into deeper hues and the light has dimmed. You watch his eyes search the clouds before he turns his head to look at you.
“It’s getting late.”
“Mhm,” You nod and let your eyes fall shut, Felix is petting your head in a soothing rhythm, “It’s pretty dark…”
Chan sits up and pauses before suggesting, “It looks like the boys have gone pretty far. Reckon we head back now?”
“Without them?” Felix asks as you sit up and stretch.
“Sure,” Chan answers, “It might be the only chance we get to spend some time together.”
Felix and Hyunjin stare expectantly so you add, “Alone. Just us.”
“Oh,” Hyunjin gasps, “R-Right.”
Felix looks in the distance for any signs of the other members.
“Only if you two want to, of course,” Chan assures, “If you two prefer sneaking around while the others are home, we’re certainly game. You’re pretty cute when you’re trying to keep quiet, Lixie.”
“Shut up,” Felix replies playfully, and his cheeks flare as he stands, “Keep it in your pants, old man.”
“Oh, I need to keep it in my pants? Maybe we’ll just play without you, then.”
“Don’t be a cunt.”
“Wow, don’t be a what?”
“You heard me.”
Chan pulls himself to his feet and grins as Felix runs off towards the beach house. He stalks after him calmly as Felix giggles mischievously and jogs backwards.
“You better apologize.”
“Make me.”
“Oh, I will,” Chan answers as he finally breaks into a run.
Felix yelps in response and scrambles to pick up his speed. Hyunjin laughs softly and stands, extending his hand to help you to your feet as well. He keeps his hand gently locked with yours as you begin following the others. His shoulder presses against yours and the contact makes your stomach flip. You both sneak a look at each other and you smile with anticipation. He looks away, but you still catch the embarrassment heating up his cheeks. You rest your head on his shoulder and give his hand a squeeze as you watch Chan catch Felix and swing him off his feet.
“Thank you for coming out here with us,” Hyunjin whispers, making your head perk up, “I’m really glad you could make it.”
“You don’t need to thank me, Hyunjin. I’m happy to be invited.”
“Sure, but you’d probably prefer just to be with Chan if you could. You’re stuck with all of us too.”
You shake your head.
“I don’t see it that way. I love spending time with all of you. Besides, how I see it is you’re all stuck with me, too.”
You giggle and grin up at him as he smiles shyly.
“I don’t think any of us mind being stuck with you. I know Felix and I don’t. And Chan is always a little better when you’re around.”
“Yeah? I think he does fine without me.”
“No,” He argues gently, “It’s different. You don’t see it like we do. Chan looks so happy when he’s with you.”
You look to where Chan and Felix are embracing ahead of you. Felix is whining as Chan peppers unforgiving kisses over his freckled cheeks.
“He looks happy when he’s with you too.”
Hyunjin huffs gently and pecks your temple. You rub his arm and snuggle against him with a pleased hum.
“Not feeling shy, I see,” You tease.
Hyunjin laughs.
“I-I am…”
“It’s okay, Hyunjin. I know you’re more comfortable when the others aren’t around.”
He ducks his head.
“I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to be sorry. It’s okay to want some privacy.”
“I know… I-I know they know… I just don’t want to have to explain anything to them.”
“That’s okay, you don’t have to explain it to us either. We already talked about it, right?”
“Right.”
“Hey,” Felix calls, he and Chan have paused to allow you to catch up, “Is everything okay?”
“We’re good, just chatting,” Hyunjin answers.
Felix comes to walk with you, ducking under Hyunjin’s arm and wrapping his arm around his waist. Chan joins at your side, placing his hand on Hyunjin’s back and leaning close so you are wedged between the two of them.
“Lix had a good idea, want to hear it?” Chan purrs.
“Of course,” You reply, still caressing Hyunjin’s arm where your hand is gripping his bicep.
Felix tilts his head to meet your gaze then smirks at Hyunjin.
“There’s a hot tub in the house. I think we should enjoy it while the others are gone.”
“That sounds nice,” Hyunjin agrees.
“I didn’t bring a swimsuit,” You inform.
“Oh, I didn’t either,” Hyunjin realizes.
“Oh, that’s a shame,” Chan coos, “I wonder what we’ll do about that.”
You peer suspiciously as Felix shares a knowing smirk with Chan.
“You didn’t bring one either,” You say to Chan.
“Hm, I wonder if we have another option, then?”
You look at Hyunjin, who is glaring at Felix through the darkening night.
“You two are perverted.”
Felix flusters as the realization dawns on you.
“Skinny dipping? Really you two?”
“You don’t like the idea?” Chan asks.
“I didn’t say that.”
You feel Chan’s arm brush you as he pats Hyunjin’s back.
“What are you thinking, Jin?”
He grimaces as you all turn your attention to him.
“That’s… really dirty.”
“Are you embarrassed, babe,” Felix teases, “Not up for the challenge?”
Hyunjin rolls his eyes.
“No… I’m just worried about the others coming back…”
“They won’t come back for a while,” Chan reasons.
“You and I can do something else, Jin,” You offer, “Watch a movie or something.”
“No… I want to do it.”
“Do you want to?” Felix asks.
“Yes, as long as we’re all comfortable.”
“We’ve all been naked in front of each other before, and quite comfortable last I checked,” Felix teases.
You reach in front of Hyunjin to pinch Felix’s side and he yelps as he catches your wrist. Chan takes advantage of the distraction and presses a kiss to the nape of your neck. You moan as he lingers there, hot breath washing over your skin and raising hairs, then you pull away from Felix to lightly elbow your boyfriend.
“Don’t tease me.”
Chan presses another kiss under your ear and brushes his lips against your jawline. He gently grabs your arm and guides you away from where you are stumbling into Hyunjin.
“Watch where you’re going, babygirl.”
“Shut up.”
Hyunjin tuts and takes his hand from yours to wrap it around your middle.
“Getting flustered?”
“Aw, baby,” Felix interrupts, “You don’t have to be nervous.”
You shrug them off and jog forward as you arrive at the house. You turn around and point your finger in an accusatory stance.
“All of you, behave.”
Felix blinks his eyes innocently as Hyunjin bows his head with a guilty smile. Chan steps up in front of you with a smirk.
“You like it when we’re bad, baby. Then you get to put us in our place.”
He steps past with the keys to unlock the door and you smack his bottom.
“Fuck yeah, I do.”
Felix and Hyunjin laugh as they follow you and Chan into the house. Felix jostles you playfully as you take off your shoes and outside clothes, and you turn to attack him with a hug when you finish. He giggles and pecks your face while wrapping his arms around your waist. You gently capture his chin and guide his lips to yours to share a teasing kiss. He tries to slip his tongue in your mouth and only manages to lap at your lips before you pull away.
“Hah,” His hips press to yours as he murmurs, “You’re so cute.”
Hyunjin comes to stand behind you, his chest pressed against your back as he speaks in your ear.
“I hate to break you two up, but didn’t we have a plan?”
You turn your head and giggle as Felix pecks your neck.
“Mhm, I don’t remember,” He sighs into your skin, “Refresh my memory?”
Chan is watching you with a lazy smile as he speaks, “Hot tub. Skinny dipping.”
“Ah, right.”
You giggle as Hyunjin physically redirects Felix away from you and down the hall, then you turn to Chan. He moves closer and pecks your cheek before nodding after them.
“Go on, I’ll be right there.”
“What are you doing?”
He holds up his phone and winks.
“Just making sure we get our privacy.”
You raise your eyebrow.
“Alright, don’t keep us waiting.”
“I won’t.”
You take your time undressing in your’s and Chan’s shared room and don a towel before padding down the hall. It seems Felix and Hyunjin have taken their time as well, since you are the first to arrive at the hot tub. It is running in a private room on the bottom floor of the house. You take a seat on the edge and dip your hand in the water. Your head perks up as Felix enters the room in a robe.
“Where did you find a robe?”
He fluffs the collar and does a pose.
“Jealous?”
“Yeah, you should take it off.”
He sputters and unties the belt as he crosses the room.
“Very forward. How’s the water?”
“It’s good, not too hot actually.”
Felix takes a seat next to you and tilts his head as you run your hand over his chest. Your damp fingers dip beneath the fabric and draw it open as you run your hand over his skin. He sucks in a breath as your fingers trace down his sternum and open his robe further. His lips part to let out a shuddery breath and you feel his body shiver under your touch.
“Oh my God,” Your hand pauses on Felix’s abdomen as Hyunjin speaks up from the doorway, “And you two think Chan is the horny one.”
You laugh and run your hand back up Felix’s front. He smirks and leans in to share a heated kiss.
“Can’t help it,” Felix pants against your lips.
“Trust me, I can tell,” Hyunjin assures.
You giggle and indulge Felix with a few more kisses before turning to face Hyunjin. You meet his gaze bravely as you grab the front of Felix’s robe and slide it off his shoulders. Hyunjin’s eyes widen as Felix mouths at your neck and you let his robe drop from your hands. Felix slides his hands under your towel to grasp your thighs as he sucks a hickey into your throat. One hand slides up to pull your towel down as he draws your thigh over his lap. You follow his lead and look over your shoulder at Hyunjin as he watches you straddle his boyfriend.
Chan leans in the doorway and cocks his eyebrow, then looks at Hyunjin where he stands unmoving in front of him. Felix’s hands roam over your bare back and one slides down to grope your ass as you settle in his lap. His cock jumps against your abdomen as he litters more wet kisses over your neck and chest. Your eyes flutter and you hum approval as he leans down to suck at your breasts.
“Enjoying the show?”
Hyunjin gasps and clutches his robe, over his heart, as he turns to Chan with a frustrated sigh. Felix chuckles and raises his head as Chan struts into the room and asks:
“What’s wrong, aren’t you going to join them, Hyune?”
Hyunjin huffs and crosses his arms.
“You first.”
“Gladly.”
Chan finishes crossing the room and drops his towel before easing into the hot tub. He meets your gaze and lounges against the side with his arms spread across the ledge. He nods at Felix and makes a beckoning motion, which you respond with by standing from his lap. Felix whines and pouts up at you as you brace your hands on his chest. You wink and shove him back to be caught in Chan’s waiting arms. Felix makes a surprised sound when he splashes into the water then laughs as Chan pulls him into his lap. Chan nips at his ear and rubs his chest as he melts into his form.
You turn to face Hyunjin, still observing in silence where he stands. His eyes flit over your nude body before he shyly turns away.
“Jinnie,” You sing, “Aren’t you going to join us?”
“Yes…”
“Come in, babe,” Felix urges, Chan is still hungrily mouthing at his neck and shoulder.
You step into the hot tub and sink down with a moan. The water immediately begins to ease your muscles and lull you into a relaxed position. You look at Chan and Felix, who have paused, then turn your head to look at Hyunjin. His fingers fumble with his robe and he avoids meeting your eyes.
“Are you alright, Jinnie?” You ask sweetly.
“I’m fine…”
“Don’t be shy, babe,” Felix begs.
“I can’t strip when you’re all staring at me.”
“Aw, why not?” Chan whines.
You and Felix giggle as Hyunjin glares in response. You turn and cross your arms on the edge of the tub, then rest your chin in your arms. You look up at Hyunjin and smile from where you slouch in the water.
“Hyunjin? Don’t you want to join us?”
He nods and tucks a strand of hair behind his ear, then watches you extend one of your hands.
“Come here, sweetheart. I’ll help you get undressed.”
“O-Okay…”
He comes forward and takes your hand, then gasps as you pull him to sit on the edge of the hot tub. You giggle and rest one hand in his lap, blinking up at him seductively as that hand roams over his clothed crotch. He swallows and tries to muffle a moan with his hand as you palm him lazily through the robe. Your other hand deftly undoes the tie keeping it closed and you smirk up at him. His eyes dart away and he sighs.
“Would you two… stop ogling me?”
“Nope,” Chan replies simply.
“We’re admiring you, love.”
“Don’t look at them,” You demand, turning Hyunjin to face you by cupping his chin, “They’re not the ones touching you, now are they?”
“N-No…”
“Right. So if you want me to keep touching you, you should keep your eyes on me.”
“Damn,” Chan hisses, and Felix shushes him.
Hyunjin’s eyes flutter and he quivers at the demand. He looks away for a second, before taking a deep breath and braving your gaze. Your expression turns ravenous as you caress his chin and run your hand down to his chest.
“Good boy.”
He nods, biting his lip as your hand slips under his robe to touch him directly. Soft groans slip from his lips as you stroke his length. His eyes follow yours through his lashes as you part his robe and let it fall open. He whimpers as you spread his legs and rest your cheek against the inside of his thigh. You look at his cock and drink in the sight of it hard and throbbing from your touch. You look up and tsk when you see his eyes are tightly shut, then draw your hand away. Hyunjin bites his fist to muffle his cry of frustration as his hips jump in desperation for your touch.
“B-Baby, pl-ease,” He hiccups.
“Look at me.”
“I-I’m not going to last…”
He looks down at you, eyes tearing up as your hand brushes the inside of his leg. You rise to stand between his legs and cup his cheeks as he frowns at you.
“Come in, baby. I’ll take care of you.”
“Fuck.”
You giggle and help him slip out of his robe, then slide your arms around his shoulders as he falls into the water with you. His lips slot against yours as you thread your fingers through his hair, and his cock ruts against your thigh. You break the kiss and huff softly.
“Hyunjinnie…”
You gasp as strong hands grab your waist, and Chan pulls you back into his lap. He pecks your shoulder and motions Hyunjin to follow you.
“Come on, Hyune. Be a good boy for her.”
Hyunjin cries out softly and falls into your waiting arms. You kiss his cheek and swipe your thumb over his bottom lip as it quivers.
“Close, baby?”
Felix settles next to you in Chan’s lap, and chuckles as Hyunjin sucks your thumb into his mouth.
“Hyunjin, baby,” Felix groans, “You look so good right now.”
“Stop,” Hyunjin cries.
“Stop what,” Felix breathes, “You’re gorgeous.”
You reach between your bodies and resume stroking Hyunjin, which quiets his embarrassed protests. His face flushes and his eyes tear up as your hand teases his cock beneath the water. Hyunjin muffles his needy sounds by shoving his face into your shoulder and Chan pecks a sweet kiss to the crown of his head. You cup his neck and hold him to you with adoration.
“There you go, Hyune,” Chan praises, “You’re such a good boy.”
Hyunjin nods and thrusts into your hand. Felix finds a place on his shoulder to begin littering little kisses and whispers soft encouragement to you both.
“There you go, feels good, right? Gonna come? Be a good boy and come. You’re treating our Hyune so well, darling. He’s so lucky to have your pretty hands on his cock.”
Chan draws Felix in for a sloppy kiss before they return their attention to you. Felix lovingly pets Hyunjin’s back and kisses his neck where he can reach it. Chan hums into your hair and slides a hand around your waist, between your legs to slip two fingers into your heat. You jerk at the intrusion and knock your head against his chin. Chan grunts and you sputter when he burrows his face in the nape of your neck.
“Ow.”
“Well, don’t just- a-ahh!”
Your hips roll to chase the feeling of Chan’s fingers curling inside you, putting just enough pressure on your sweet spot as his thumb rolls over your clit.
“Don’t what? Hm? Use your words, babygirl.”
“You’re mean,” Hyunjin chastises, the rhythm of your touch breaking from Chan’s distraction, “Hah, too rough with her.”
You warble in agreement as you try to focus on stroking Hyunjin. Chan easily keeps the pace of fingering you as his other hand seizes your wrist. Hyunjin whines and butts his face into your neck as your hand is forced to still.
“I could be a lot meaner,” Chan whispers as he releases his hold on you, “Besides, she’s more than ready for it. Touch her, Lix.”
You resume stroking Hyunjin, his short grunts and breathy moans telling you that he is close. Chan’s fingers leave and Felix’s replace them. Although his are smaller, he makes up for this by immediately delving three of them deep into your heat. You mumble a string of curses into Hyunjin’s hair, clawing your fingers down his back as Felix fingerfucks you steadily.
“Wet and loose. Can’t get enough, can you? Hm?”
You moan and nod dumbly. Chan chuckles and lifts Hyunjin’s chin to look at him.
“And you think I’m the mean one?”
Hyunjin shakes his head as Chan pushes his thumb into his mouth. He swipes it over his tongue and presses it to the inside of his cheek. Hyunjin’s eyes flutter and his mouth opens in a broken moan as he comes from your touch. Felix chuckles, kissing the marks you left on Hyunjin’s back as he retracts his hand from your core. You sigh at the loss of contact and watch the tears slip down Hyunjin’s cheeks as your touch overstimulates him. Slowly, you cease touching him to let him recover from his high. Chan removes his thumb from his mouth and uses the spit-laden appendage to wipe the tears from Hyunjin’s cheeks. He sniffles and leans dazedly into Chan’s touch, cheeks flush and slick.
“Still good, baby?” Chan asks softly, “You with us?”
Hyunjin nods and looks over his shoulder as Felix kisses his cheek.
“You did so well, gorgeous,” He praises.
Hyunjin turns to you and presses a hot kiss to the corner of your lips. You giggle and meet him properly for the second one. He parts his lips and lets you slip your tongue inside for a messy kiss that leaves a string of saliva between your lips when you part. He groans and ducks his head before facing you again.
“I just realized… how gross this is.”
Chan chuckles and tauntingly strokes the inside of your thigh.
“What? Spit?” Felix asks as he wipes your chin clean.
“No… We’re sitting in my… cum.”
“Yeah, that’s pretty gross,” You agree as Chan nibbles your ear.
“Felix, don’t tell me that got you hard,” Hyunjin snaps as Felix laughs into his back.
He looks at you with a salacious grin and props his chin over Hyunjin’s shoulder.
“Listen, babe, just because you’re having post-nut clarity doesn’t mean we have to.”
“You should, you degenerate.”
“Well, you’re welcome to leave-”
“As if.”
You giggle and let Chan maneuver you to lean against the edge of the tub. He settles himself between your legs and traps you against the wall with his arms as he slowly leans in with a greedy stare. You sigh and lean your elbows back on the ledge, offering a challenging smirk as he moves in. Felix snakes his arms around Chan’s middle and blinks at you affectionately as your boyfriend presses his forehead to yours. You giggle and reach up to run your fingers through his hair, then reach past him to cup Felix’s cheek. You tilt your head to the side, away from Chan, to meet Felix’s gaze.
“You’re so pretty, Lix.”
“Thank you.”
Chan sets his jaw and brushes his nose against your cheek.
“Is that how it is?”
You thread your fingers in Felix’s hair and watch his eyes roll when you tug. You turn to face Chan with faux concern as he glares at you softly.
“I’m just worried Lix isn’t getting enough attention, Channie.”
Chan shudders then turns to watch you slide your hand down and wrap it around Felix’s throat. He groans when your grip tentatively tightens and guides him closer, between you and Chan. His eyes flutter open and he shoots Chan a smug look. Chan responds by grabbing the back of Felix’s head and pushing his face into your breasts. You scoff and share a look with Hyunjin, who is lounging against an edge with his elbow propped to hold his head up. He tilts his head to watch Felix suck your nipple between his lips. You moan and drape your arm lazily over his shoulders as he laps his way to your other breast.
“I think he gets plenty of attention,” Chan mumbles.
You laugh and slide your foot against the inside of Chan’s leg. He moves closer to pin Felix between both of you and chuckles at your airy moans. Felix lets out a muffled hum before licking a filthy stripe over your sensitive bud.
“I disagree,” He murmurs, “I’m feeling so neglected.”
Hyunjin speaks up from his spot, “It’s hard to feel bad for you when you have tits in your mouth.”
Felix looks up at you with his round eyes and sighs.
“God gives his hardest battles to his sexiest soldiers.”
“So true, baby,” You coo.
Chan snickers and Hyunjin rolls his eyes as Felix eagerly returns to suckling on your breasts. Chan glances at Hyunjin as needy sounds spill from your lips, and leans back to acknowledge him.
“Feeling left out?”
Hyunjin shakes his head.
“I’m good. I’m enjoying the view from right here.”
You keen as Felix nips the soft underside of your breasts and exhales hotly on your sensitive skin. He kisses lower, giving testing licks as he travels to your stomach. Chan reaches around to clasp Felix’s jaw and pulls him back. Felix’s eyes roll from the pressure on his throat and he grunts as Chan presses his lips to his ear.
“Aren’t you such a good boy for her?”
Felix nods, watching you through his lashes as Chan ghosts his hand down his front. His cock jumps when Chan’s hand slides over his abdomen and pauses there. You sigh and watch impatiently as Felix bucks his hips.
“Chan, please.”
“What’s wrong? You don’t want to be my good boy?”
“I-I do…”
“Not fair,” You whine.
Chan kisses Felix’s neck and chuckles.
“I’m just giving Lixie some attention. Wasn’t that your suggestion?”
You click your tongue and sit up.
“I didn’t say to tease him.”
“But isn’t he so cute like this?”
“Yeah,” You muse as you admire the shuddering of Felix’s toned chest, “He is pretty cute.”
Chan roughly gropes Felix’s inner-thigh and groans as he squirms in his arms.
“Excited, are you?”
“You’re one to talk. Fuck, you’re so fucking hard Chan.”
You giggle as Chan blushes and releases Felix. He drops in front of you and leans into your welcoming embrace with a soft groan. You feel his cock press against you as he kisses you fervently, his arms pulling your bodies tight together as your hands run over his back.
Chan leans one hand on the ledge beside you and traces a finger slowly down Felix’s spine. He shivers and whimpers into your mouth as Chan’s touch dances over his freckles, drawing invisible constellations as the two of you share lazy kisses. Felix breaks the kiss and you take the opportunity to peck his forehead as Chan traces his spine again. Felix arches his back and groans at the friction of your hips coming together.
“Chris,” He cries, “Wh-What are you-”
Chan teases his fingers over Felix’s hole and slots his cock between the younger’s shaking thighs. You feel the drag of it against the tangle of your legs and bite your lip as you meet Chan’s gaze. He smirks and presses closer, forcing Felix’s chest flush to yours as he moves in. Felix moans and looks down as Chan ruts his cock under his, then looks at you as one of Chan’s hands roam over his chest. You contrast Chan’s sloppy thrusts and slow groping by sweetly tucking Felix’s hair out of his face. He inhales shakily as Chan slips a finger over his hole again.
“God, just put it in,” Felix growls.
You giggle and cup his face as Chan’s hands slide down to his hips.
“Don’t be so hasty, love,” Chan whispers.
“You’re a tease.”
“I just want to make sure you’re wet, darling.”
“We’re in a fucking hot t-UB!”
Felix jerks as Chan spreads his cheeks and spits into his open hole. Felix thrusts again, chasing the friction of his cock against your abdomen, before quivering and collecting himself. Chan spits again then pushes one of his thumbs into Felix’s puckering hole. You moan and roll your hips up for some stimulation as you stroke your thumbs over Felix’s defined cheekbones.
“That’s better,” Chan decides, admiring Felix’s slick hole.
“You’re disgusting,” Felix groans.
Chan fucks himself between his legs and you assist by closing your legs around Felix’s thighs, creating a tighter slit for Chan to slip between. Felix whines as it becomes harder for him to move his hips, and follows Chan as his hand comes around his throat again. Your core pulses from watching Chan hold him up, then he tugs Felix’s hands from your body.
“Arms. Now.”
“Chaaan,” Felix protests, but folds his arms behind his back for Chan to grasp in his other hand.
“See? Was that so hard?”
Felix whimpers as you begin running your hands over his pecs and pressing kisses to his chest. Chan is still lazily grinding between his thighs, frotting their cocks together from behind.
“You’re so pretty, Lix,” Hyunjin compliments, his voice low and ragged.
You drag your lips down Felix’s abs and look up as you place an open-mouthed kiss just below his belly button. Felix fights to look down at you as Chan tilts his head back.
“You want her mouth so bad, huh? Think you deserve it?”
“I do,” Felix argues.
“Oh yeah?”
Chan pauses as you close your hands around both of their cocks and Felix makes a relieved noise. You stroke them slowly and look up with a sigh.
“For the record, I don’t think either of you have done much to ‘deserve’ it. The only thing you’ve been doing is teasing me.”
“A-And what do you think he’s doing to me?” Felix sobs.
Chan chuckles and nuzzles his nose against Felix’s cheek.
“But Felix, you’ve been such a good boy.”
Felix rolls his eyes then makes a choked sound as you squeeze the tip of his cock. He thrusts into your hand and Chan pulls him back.
“Come on…”
“Beautiful,” Hyunjin calls, stealing your attention, “Why don’t you let them play together and I’ll take care of you?”
“No…” Felix pleads as you draw your hands away.
“You’ll be fine,” Hyunjin dismisses as he watches you wade your way over beside him.
Chan chuckles and finally releases his constricting grip on Felix. You let Hyunjin lift you up on the edge of the hot tub as Chan sits across from you. He beckons Felix closer and guides him to sit in his lap as Hyunjin ducks between your legs. You watch him pull your thighs over his shoulders and move in to lick between your folds. You are so pent up from watching the others you fail to suppress the high-pitched sound that he draws from your lips. Felix and Chan are both facing you, admiring you, as Chan hikes one of Felix’s legs over his arm and begins fingering him open. Felix lays like a ragdoll, letting Chan touch him and move him as he pleases as he watches you through half-lidded eyes.
Hyunjin barely swipes his tongue into your heat, choosing instead to focus on lapping at your clit and flicking it around your folds. You are too needy to complain, just sighing and moaning as he latches his lips to your clit and sucks. Chan hurriedly preps Felix and guides himself into his spread hole. Felix makes a wrecked sound as Chan’s fist closes around his leaking cock and he thrusts up to the hilt. Your fingers clench on the edge of the tub and you watch them desperately as your climax approaches. You wiggle and Hyunjin clasps your hips, allowing you to grind your pussy on his lips until you reach your high. You laugh breathlessly and release a series of pitchy moans as he devours you happily, letting you use him until you are satiated. You continue through your orgasm until the overstimulation has you trembling.
Hyunjin reaches up to catch you in his arms as you drop back into the water, still a bit shaky as you come down from your high. Your arousal is smeared on his lips and he licks them clean before kissing you. It is endearing, even when you taste yourself on his tongue and feel him half-hard between your moving bodies, your heart swells at his kiss. You blame Chan and Felix for leaving you untouched, but secretly know there is something special about Hyunjin that is drawing this reaction from you. He cups your cheeks and kisses you, soft and slow, drawing it out as long as he can until you are panting beneath him.
“Baby?”
“Hah,” You respond, dazed as you look up at him, “Yes?”
“Are you okay? You’re shaking, sweetheart.”
Your heart stutters at his tender expression, and you nod quickly to settle his nerves.
“Good, I’m good. Still coming down, that’s all.”
“Alright. Do you need a break?”
“No, n-no. We can just sit here.”
“Alright, baby,” Hyunjin smiles, patient and fond, before pecking your forehead, “Sit with me. Let’s just watch for a bit.”
You follow Hyunjin down to lounge in the water and find your core winding up at how he secures his arm around your shoulder. His movements are slow, hesitant, as he pulls you close and gently caresses your arm with his thumb. He brushes stray hairs from your face and runs his thumb under your jawline with loving attention. You look up and feel safe, warmth pooling in your stomach, when you meet his doting gaze. His serene smile is still there as he glances over at Felix and Chan.
There is something remarkable about Felix’s flexibility, it must come from years of training and dancing. Chan has his leg held up in a way that looks painful, but you trust that if Felix did not want it that way he would have spoken by now. Chan is jerking him off hard, and thrusting up with no control. The scene looks pornographic, and the sounds spilling from Felix’s mouth sound even more so. You can tell he is close from the volume of his desperation.
“Ch-Chan! Chan- Chris- fuck! Please please, oh my God, fuck! Yes, please-”
Hyunjin keeps stroking your arm, pulling you in to snuggle against his chest. You sink down and feel his cheek nestle against the top of your head. Felix groans, loud enough that you would worry about someone else hearing if you were not the only ones in the house. His cum shoots up his front, painting his chest and abdomen with thick streaks as Chan fucks him through his climax. It dribbles down his cock as it falls soft against his stomach, and he groans lowly as Chan keeps fucking him. Chan’s hand has slipped to hold the inside of his thigh, keeping his legs spread by digging his fingers into the tight muscles.
“That’s good, so good, Lix,” Chan praises, “M’gonna keep going, can I cum- cum inside? M’so close, baby.”
“Uh-huh,” Felix mewls, voice airy as Chan fucks another groan out of him, “Inside, yeah…”
“That’s messy,” Hyunjin teases, “You made a mess, Lix.”
“S’good, feels good,” Felix babbles, making you both laugh.
Chan giggles into Felix’s neck and whispers his own mindless stream of groans and praises as he finds his release. He knocks his hips up, pushing himself deeper inside as he cums. Felix twitches as Chan’s cock throbs inside him, and cum begins to spill out of his plugged hole.
“Yeah, yeah Lix, milk it. Fuck, you take it so good.”
Felix nods, eyebrows pinched in pleasure as his mouth falls open.
“Ch-Chan, f-fuck it’s hot. You’re so hot.”
“Yeah? You love it, baby?”
“Yeah…”
Chan kisses his neck sweetly and slowly eases Felix off of him. The younger groans and falls bonelessly into the water, letting Chan in behind him to scoop him into his arms. Chan hums and peppers kisses over his face, neck, then chest as Felix’s head lolls back. Chan giggles and nudges his nose against Felix’s chin.
“Sleepy?”
“Mhm…”
“I fucked you that good?”
“No, not that good.”
Chan punishes Felix with a bite to his jawline and he yelps.
“Brat.”
Felix makes a noise of disagreement as he drowsily meets Chan for a kiss. Chan grumbles something but Felix muffles his words with lazy pecks.
“Now they’re going to make-out for like an hour,” Hyunjin mumbles.
“No,” Felix says, “Not that long…”
“Just until he passes out,” Chan murmurs.
“And then you make-out some more when he wakes up,” You say as their kissing resumes.
“Mhm,” Chan defends, “S’called aftercare. I do it because I care about him.”
“You’re obsessed with me,” Felix jokes, “You act like you’re in love with me or something.”
“Because I am.”
Felix’s eyes widen and his cheeks flush at Chan’s words. His reaction goes unnoticed, but not to you or Hyunjin. He shifts beside you, his fingers twitch as Chan’s hand cups Felix’s neck and pulls him in for another kiss. His eyes flutter shut and he melts into it, not noticing how your hand takes Hyunjin’s under the water or when you look up because you hear his heart pounding in his chest. He meets your gaze and relieves your worries with a smile. He looks unsure, but not upset. There is a glimmer of desire in his eyes when he looks back at Felix and Chan, sharing deft touches and needy kisses.
You giggle and sarcastically muse, “Wow, Chan. Just go ahead and say Felix is your favourite.”
Chan breaks away and looks at you with a soft glare, while Felix whines and nuzzles his cheek.
“I don’t have a favourite.”
“You love us all equally?” Hyunjin clarifies.
At this, Chan hesitates to answer. He shares a look with you then carefully replies:
“Yeah, I love you all. You mean the world to me.”
Felix successfully coaxes Chan into giving him another kiss, and when they pull apart holds Chan’s cheeks to maintain his gaze.
“Don’t be so casual about it.”
Chan chuckles.
“I can’t say I love you?”
“You love me because I take it up the ass for you.”
“That’s not true. I want to fuck you in the ass because I love you. There’s a difference.”
“There’s a difference,” You repeat with an unconvinced lilt.
“So,” Hyunjin concludes, “Felix lets you fuck him in the ass and becomes your favourite. I see how it is.”
You cackle as Chan rolls his eyes and Felix raises his eyebrows.
“Sure. Felix is my favourite. For that reason.”
“That’s okay,” You hum, “Hyunjin is my favourite.”
Hyunjin physically jumps with surprise at your confession and looks at you with disbelief. Felix chortles at his reaction and accepts the kisses Chan meticulously presses to each of his freckles. Your boyfriend is entirely unbothered by your comment, failing to justify Hyunjin’s reaction with even a sideways glance as he stares expectantly at him. Then, he stares at you.
“Why?”
You shrug, feeling drowsy and a little high off the hint of curiosity in Hyunjin’s voice.
“I just like you. I like how you watch out for Channie. I like how you take care of Felix. I like the way you fall in love.”
Hyunjin’s eyes soften at your inviting smile.
“Oh. I love you too.”
“I know.”
Hyunjin splutters as you look back at the others nonchalantly, although you are horribly suppressing your sheepish reaction. You avoid looking at him and pointedly turn away as your cheeks flush and a grin breaks out on your face.
“Baby? Baby, wait, look at me.”
“Can’t.”
“B-But- please?”
You shake your head as Hyunjin’s arms come around you from behind.
“You made her shy, Hyunjin,” Felix comments.
“I’m not shy,” You argue as you let Hyunjin turn you around.
Your breath catches as you watch him. His brows are furrowed with determination and his plush lips are pressed into a tight line. He cups your cheeks and leans in, lips hovering over yours as he chooses the right words.
“Y-You’re not going to say it?”
You grin.
“Say what?”
He looks helplessly at Chan and Felix.
“Aw, babe,” Chan scolds, “Don’t be so difficult.”
Felix yawns then adds, “He deserves an ‘I love you’, he ate you out.”
“He wanted to do that.”
“You don’t want to say it?” Hyunjin questions.
You sigh and throw your arms around his shoulders.
“Hwang Hyunjin,” He nods, listening intently to your words, “I promise, one-hundred percent, without a doubt, that I love you. And I will say it as many times as you need to hear it.”
“B-But… do you…”
“For the record,” Chan cuts in, “I love you too. I loved you first, actually. She just copied me.”
“I did not copy falling in love with Hyunjin, you bitch.”
Felix’s head is resting on Chan’s chest, held close with one hand while the other points accusingly at you.
“You didn’t like him until I liked him.”
“I didn’t like him until I started dating you, I didn’t even know him.”
“Yeah, so, I win.”
You shake your head then return your attention to Hyunjin.
“What were you going to say, baby?”
“Um… So do you like me- like, love me or… just, you know…”
“Babe,” Felix murmurs, “What do you think?”
Hyunjin looks pained as he considers the options, but you quickly relieve his stress by answering his question.
“I don’t just like you in a ‘friend’ way. I cherish every second I get to spend with you, Hyunjin. I need you and I love you.”
Hyunjin nods.
“Me too. I-I love you, too.”
“I love you too,” Felix offers, “Just so you know.”
You roll your eyes.
“I love you too, Lix.”
“Nice.”
“Noice.”
“Hey.”
Chan chuckles and smiles at you.
“Chan… you’re just alright,” You quip.
“Well, you’re sexy and amazing. See how I didn’t stoop to your level?”
“Chan,” Hyunjin says, “I don’t want to interrupt, but Felix is falling asleep on your chest and I think we should clean him up.”
Chan looks down to Felix drooling on his chest and hums as he gently shakes him.
“So he is. You’re right, but shouldn’t we say ‘I love you’ first?”
Hyunjin nods shyly and Chan glances at you before you move over to take Felix into your arms. He stirs when he falls against you and you scoop some water over his dirty chest. He mutters something, maybe a thank-you, as Chan comes to Hyunjin and pulls him into a kiss. Hyunjin returns it eagerly, allowing Chan to dip him slightly to deepen the kiss. Hyunjin pulls away first, and giggles as Chan pecks all over his face.
“I love you, Chan.”
“I love you too, baby.”
You smile at them as Chan lets Hyunjin straighten again.
Hyunjin and Chan help Felix out of the hot tub and dress him in his robe, before he eventually gives up on standing and Chan has to carry him out of the room. There are two bathrooms in the house. Hyunjin runs a bath for Felix in one of them, while you start a shower in the other. You hear the door open a few minutes into your shower, then Chan’s soft voice shortly after that.
“It’s me, babe.”
“Are you coming in?”
“Yeah, I just had to do something.”
You poke your head out of the shower curtain and smile when you see Chan has brought clean towels and pajamas. His head perks up as he drops his towel and he smirks at you.
“Wow. Couldn’t help yourself? Had to take a peek, you little minx?”
You giggle and push the curtain open as he steps in. You share a quick kiss as he shuts the curtain behind himself and steps under the water with you.
“I want to know where they found robes. How come all we can find is towels.”
“I don’t know, love. I’m sure they’re around somewhere.”
“How is Lix doing?”
“He’s good. Hyunjin’s in the tub with him. He’ll take a nap and go back to being a menace again.”
You nod and giggle as Chan pulls your body to his. Your hands rest on his shoulders and you gaze up at him as you sway under the water.
“You tired?” He asks.
“Kind of, getting there.”
He pecks your forehead.
“Let’s get you cleaned up, babygirl.”
“Channie?”
“Mhm?”
“I love you.”
He smiles, that eye-pinching grin that melts your heart every time.
“I love you more.”
“Impossible.”
“S’not,” He protests with a soft pout, “I do.”
“You’re just gonna have to prove it to me, I guess.”
He chuckles and kisses you, leisurely and chaste.
“No problem. You’re easy to love.”
“Mhm, be quiet,” You complain.
You finish your shower laughing together. Chan steps out first, throws on his towel then takes yours and begins helping you dry off. You throw your arms up and let him pat you down, then squeal when he throws it over your head and squeezes your sides.
“Chan!”
You pull it down with a huff that gets interrupted with a kiss. He smiles against your lips when you lightly hit him with the towel.
“Christopher.”
He giggles.
“Yes?”
“Behave.”
“Mhm, okay.”
He pecks your nose and finishes patting you dry, then gives you your space so you can get dressed. The clothes are your comfy underwear, favourite bedtime shorts, and one of his black hoodies. You pull it on then hold the material up to your nose to inhale his scent. Chan pulls on his boxers then pauses partway through donning his sweatpants to observe you. You smile with your eyes, nose and mouth covered in the soothing material. He finishes getting dressed, having opted to stay shirtless, and tilts his head at you.
“Happy?”
“Mh-hm…”
You shuffle into his arms and he welcomes you with a hug. He buries his nose in your hair and you let the fabric drop as you peck his chest.
“Let’s go, babygirl.”
“Hn?”
You shriek as Chan picks you up by your thighs and brings your legs around his waist. Your arms close tight around his neck and you cry out in protest.
“Chan! Don’t do that!”
He laughs and carries you out of the bathroom, down the hall to the living room. Hyunjin and Felix are already there, lounging on the couch in their matching pajamas as they choose something to watch. Felix is sipping a glass of water, tucked into Hyunjin’s side as he scrolls through the options. Chan drops you on the couch and catches your ankle when you try to kick him.
“I know your tricks, sweetheart.”
Hyunjin makes his decision and watches Felix hold his empty glass out to Chan.
“Chris?”
Chan sighs and takes it, then leaves the room to refill it for him. Felix shoots you a satisfied smirk and you shake your head.
“Get your own malewife.”
“I want yours.”
“I heard that!”
“No you didn’t,” Felix teases, then looks expectantly at Hyunjin.
“Stop looking at me like that.”
Felix pouts.
“You don’t want to be my malewife?”
“Hyunjin is so boygirlfriend, actually,” You murmur.
“Oh yeah, he so is.”
“I don’t know what those words mean but I feel like I should be offended. Stop it.”
Chan returns with a fresh glass of ice water and presses his cold hand to the back of your neck. You curse and twist away from his touch as Felix takes his water and sings:
“Thank you, Chan.”
“You’re welcome, little bastard.”
“I love when couples have pet names,” Hyunjin jokes.
“It’s not a pet name, that’s Lix’s species,” You add.
“I’m not a creature.”
“You act like one,” Chan mutters.
Felix holds his glass out and Chan lets out a long sigh before reluctantly taking it.
“Getting fucked in the ass doesn’t make you incapable of taking care of yourself.”
“Yes it does.”
“Lix is a babygirl, he can’t help it,” You defend.
Felix nods sagely and Hyunjin tsks, before Chan replies:
“If babygirl means spoiled princess, then it definitely suits the two of you,” He pauses, “Three of you.”
Hyunjin ponders then shrugs, yawning instead of trying to muster up an argument against Chan’s logic. Chan sets Felix’s water aside, giving you time to crawl between Hyunjin and Felix and cuddle into a comfortable position. Hyunjin lets you rest your head in his lap, even tucking a throw pillow beneath to better support it. Felix lays somewhat on top of you, partially wedged between you and the couch so he can put his head low on your chest and slot one of his legs between yours. Chan assesses the situation then settles himself on top of you. His head rests on your stomach and he tangles himself around Felix. Felix welcomes him in by wrapping his arms around his shoulders and pecking his forehead.
“You weren’t planning on going anywhere, right?” You ask Hyunjin.
He snorts.
“Not anymore.”
Hyunjin lazes one arm over the back of the couch and lets his other rest on the armrest. Chan tugs a blanket up over himself and Felix and hums contently. Felix shimmies lower and tilts Chan’s head up to give him a kiss. You reach over your head to grab Hyunjin’s hand and bring it to your lips, brushing a sweet peck over his knuckles. He makes a soft sound and smiles down at you, then begins brushing his fingers over your cheek. He carefully traces over your cheekbones, eyelids, down the bridge of your nose. He pauses on your lips, slips his finger between them gently, then moves to your chin and jawline. You watch him intently, then let your attention shift to Chan and Felix where they trade kisses beside you.
“I told you they would start making out again,” You whisper to Hyunjin.
“I’m not surprised.”
“You’re just jealous,” Felix decides.
“Are you jealous?” Chan asks, his voice slurring with exhaustion.
“No,” Hyunjin assures, “I love seeing you two together.”
“Simp,” Felix replies.
You place your hand between their faces and laugh as Felix whines and tries to see Chan around it.
“Baby, please,” Chan begs.
You sigh and move your hand to play with his hair. Hyunjin continues stroking your cheek with his thumb as he turns his attention to the television. Felix reaches up to tug on his shirt.
“Hey, you’re good, right?”
“Why wouldn’t I be good?”
“I mean… You didn’t really believe them earlier.”
Hyunjin looks annoyed as you and Chan both look at him with concern.
“It’s not that I didn’t believe them! I just want to make sure we’re all on the same page.”
“Why wouldn’t we be on the same page?” You ask gently.
“I don’t know… People say things in the moment and…”
“Hyunjin,” Chan says, dozy and a little sternly, “Do you think we didn’t mean it when we said we love you?”
“I know you love me. I just also know how Felix loves me, so I don’t want to assume you mean it the same way.”
“Oh,” You breathe, “You’re afraid we’re not in love with you, right?”
“You don’t have to be…”
“Then what can we do to show you we are?” Chan asks.
Hyunjin falters then Felix speaks up for him:
“Putting a label on this might help? There hasn’t really been much talk of commitment since we started seeing each other’s partners. Maybe… we stop wondering how long this will last and… finally make it official?”
You grin at Felix, his words are clearly thought out but his tone is hesitant. Voice a little shaky, eyes a little watery. Hyunjin lets his hand fall from the back of the couch to rub Felix’s back in soothing circles.
“Alright, let’s make it official,” Chan decides.
“Wha- just like that?” Hyunjin yelps.
You giggle.
“Channie doesn’t fuck around with labels.”
“I don’t. Tell us what you want. Let’s get it all worked out right here.”
Hyunjin swallows and looks at you.
“What… would you call this?”
You blink in surprise then contemplate the question with a quiet hum.
“Well… Chan is my boyfriend, obviously… but I would even call him my soulmate if we’re getting specific with things. And I don’t see why I couldn’t use that word to describe you guys, too.”
“S-Soulmates,” Felix questions, “You really feel like we’re your soulmates?”
Your cheeks heat up and you nod shyly.
“W-Well… If that’s okay? I mean, I guess, to me a soulmate isn’t necessarily a romantic partner. They’re just… someone you need in your life. But I don’t see why we can’t be soulmates and lovers, you know? Or, soulmates and friends if that’s… better, like…”
You feel wetness fall on your cheeks and trail off as you wipe it away. Another drop, and you look up to see Hyunjin crying above you. Your eyes widen and you reach up instinctively, hand resting over his heart as he tries to muffle his sobs into his palm.
“Hyunjin, what’s wrong?”
Felix clambers up when he realizes what is going on, and Chan follows. This gives you the opportunity to sit up, and you slide into Hyunjin’s lap as Felix’s arms come around his shoulders. The position is awkward, but Chan pushes himself in as well. His arms come around Hyunjin’s waist, and Felix leans back just a bit so Hyunjin can tuck his chin over Chan’s shoulder. He cries openly, tears stream down his face before being wiped away by Felix’s delicate hands. Felix pecks his forehead as Chan rubs his back lovingly.
“I-I’m sorry, I-I don’t-” He chokes on his tears between words, “I don’t even believe Felix wants me sometimes. I-I just expected you two would get bored of me soon.”
Chan’s eyebrows pinch and he sighs softly before answering:
“I know what you mean, baby, but trust me: we’re never going to get bored of you. We love you.”
You pet Hyunjin’s hair and nod in agreement as he leans back to look at Chan.
“Y-Yeah?”
“Yes,” Chan exasperates, “Sweetheart, when I said you’re my world I meant it. I love you.”
“Oh,” Hyunjin laughs sadly, “Oh.”
“You’re so foolish, Jinnie,” You murmur as you kiss his cheek, “Silly boy. Thinking we don’t love you and Felix.”
Felix is still teary-eyed, and the tender kiss Chan presses to his cheek does not help.
“We didn’t want to get our hearts hurt,” Felix explains quietly.
“That breaks my heart,” Chan replies, “I don’t know how we could be anymore in love with you. Isn’t it obvious?”
“Except,” You cut in, “For actually putting a name to it.”
“Oh, whatever. I don’t look at anyone else but you three. I let you in bed with the love of my life. You should’ve gotten the hint.”
Hyunjin wipes his tears away and turns to you as you cup his jaw.
“Does that help, Hyunjinnie? Do you know your answer now?”
“Yes… I think we’re soulmates too, and I want us to all be together.”
You share a kiss and giggle when Felix butts his face into Hyunjin’s neck.
“What’s wrong, Lix?” Chan asks softly.
He raises his head, freckled face burning as your attention falls on him.
“I agree but… could we pick something a bit less intense for when we tell the guys? Like, partners, or lovers even?”
“You think ‘lovers’ is less intense?” Hyunjin questions.
“I don’t know…”
“I like it. Lovers is serious, but not as dramatic, and still a little soft,” You decide, “I also like the idea of calling you three my boyfriends.”
“Isn’t that a little… casual?” Hyunjin retorts.
“Calling someone your boyfriend is casual,” Chan remarks in disbelief, then looks at you, “Apparently we are not taking our relationship as seriously as we should be.”
You giggle and Hyunjin rolls his eyes.
“Th-That’s not what I meant… We’re just going to go from being close friends to suddenly… her boyfriends, and that seems like we’re not acknowledging the way our relationship has developed in private. I-I think we’re more serious about each other than… just dating… R-Right?”
“Again, dating is too casual now?”
You hit Chan lightly then turn your attention to Hyunjin and Felix.
“Why don’t we call each other whatever is most comfortable, and if the boys have questions we let them know that we’re taking it day-by-day. But yes, Hyune, we’re serious about this too.”
You make soft noise as Felix leans closer and guides you into a tender kiss. You accept easily, warming at how his hand slides around your waist and his bangs brush against your cheeks. He parts and grins at your blissed out smile.
“Sorry, lovely. I just felt the need to do that right now. Love you.”
“I love you too, Lix.”
Chan smiles, still looking tired, and lets you and Felix pepper chaste kisses to his cheeks.
“You need to rest, Channie?” You ask.
“Yeah, I do,” Chan looks at Hyunjin and gestures for him to hug him again, “Come here, baby.”
Hyunjin falls into his arms with a little sigh and lets Chan comfort him. Felix uses the moment to settle in a sitting position at the other end of the couch, and pats his stomach patiently. Chan takes Hyunjin with him as he falls between Felix’s legs, heads resting on his chest as the two continue sharing little pecks. You smile, throw a blanket over the three of them, then grab your own before curling up on top of your boyfriends’ legs. Chan and Hyunjin both reach down, Chan takes your hand and Hyunjin plays with your hair as you look up to admire them. Felix has one arm around Hyunjin’s shoulders and the other folded behind his head as he watches the two on top of him.
“Ugh, I just realized something,” You whisper.
“Mhm,” Is Chan’s half-conscious reply.
“What, babe,” Hyunjin inquires with Chan’s mouth smushed lazily against his lips.
“I’m going to have to share my sugar daddy.”
They all laugh and Felix answers:
“I like how you decided we would all be mooching off Chan, as opposed to you gaining two more sugar daddies.”
“Ooh wait, I like that better.”
Felix laughs, shaking Chan and Hyunjin with the force of it. Both are exhausted now, and as they succumb to sleep their kisses dissolve into slow brushes of their lips instead of actions with any force behind them. You smile at the way their noses brush, how one will slip back into consciousness enough to kiss the other and receive a delayed peck to reciprocate the action. You look up to meet Felix’s eyes as he mirrors your fond smile. He whispers, but Hyunjin still stirs slightly at the rumble of his voice.
“They fit so well together.”
You hum in agreement.
“Chan thinks the same thing about me and you.”
Felix chuckles.
“Must be true, then.”
Your smile widens as you regard your boyfriends’ one last time. Chan’s cheek is smushed into Felix’s chest, Hyunjin’s breathing has finally slowed, and Felix’s eyes flutter shut as he lets his head fall to the side. You close your eyes and nestle in to fall asleep with them.
The sudden sound of excited voices pulls you awake before the front door even opens. When someone, presumably Minho, manages to win the fight with his keys and push the door open the volume increases exponentially. You groggily sit up and look over the back of the couch, down the hall where you cannot see the others but their voices swim in and out of your hazy senses. You look down; Chan and Hyunjin are in the same position as earlier, asleep and sharing air with little space between their lips. Felix is rubbing the sleep from his eyes and stretching out his arm, no doubt cramped from being tucked under his head.
“You guys here?” Changbin calls out.
“We’re in here, Binnie,” You manage, voice straining from underuse, “We were sleeping.”
You can hear Jeongin and Jisung cackling down the hall, their voices the loudest among the others. You cannot make out what they are saying as they wander somewhere else in the house. Changbin enters the room, still wearing his black puffer jacket. He comes around the couch on Felix’s side and ruffles his hair.
“Cold, Bin?” Felix purrs, his voice deeper with sleep.
“Not really. You look cozy.”
You watch Changbin’s expression as he seems to register the scene before him. You yawn and sit up properly, and notice how Chan’s hands are barely clutching the front of Hyunjin’s pajama shirt. In return, Hyunjin has his arm draped around Chan’s body. Maybe you imagine it, but Changbin’s gaze seems to linger on the proximity of their parted lips before he wanders over to you. He pets your hair, no doubt tousled from sleep and your earlier escapades, and tilts your head up gently to face him.
“Tired, honey?”
You smile.
“A little. Did you guys have fun?”
Changbin nods and drops his hand.
“We walked down the shore, then we went into town and looked around until we found somewhere to hang out. There was a nice restaurant, so we went there and I.N and Han had a couple drinks. Then we walked around some more before we got back here.”
You giggle.
“No wonder they’re being so loud…”
“I can quiet them down for you.”
“No, it’s okay. We’ll wake Chan and Hyune up soon and go to bed.”
“Alright, you just let me know if you need anything, babe. I’m going to my room.”
He passes by Felix again and offers a gentle caress to his cheek.
“Goodnight, Yongbokkie.”
“G’night, Bin,” Felix yawns between farewells, “Sleep tight.”
You offer Changbin a small wave and watch him leave. Your attention piques as Seungmin shuffles in, still dressed in his slacks and a too-big flannel. He looks over the back of the couch with a blank expression.
“Did you have a good night, Min?” Felix asks.
“Mhm.”
He comes around the couch on your side and hesitates at the end. You tuck your legs up, careful not to disturb Chan or Hyunjin, and pat the space next to you.
“You can sit here, Min,” You offer softly.
He drops into the bit of space next to you and leans his head on your shoulder. You throw your blanket over the two of you and tidy his bangs where they have fallen in his eyes.
“Are you okay?”
“Tired…”
“I’m sorry you guys stayed out so long,” You sympathize, “You can sleep here for a while.”
Seungmin nods and nuzzles closer. You look at Felix, who smiles and lets his eyes fall shut. You turn your attention to the television, still playing whatever Hyunjin chose earlier to occupy the silence. Seungmin’s hand finds yours under the blanket and you lace your fingers together. You spend a few minutes watching the show, before your eyelids droop shut. Your head falls against Seungmin’s and he grunts softly, but does not move.
Your peace is interrupted shortly after when you hear poorly concealed giggling, and look over to see Jeongin and Jisung leaning on the back of the couch.
“Hey, you two,” You whisper, peering suspiciously at their troublesome grins, “What is it?”
They share a look and giggle some more before Jeongin answers, “We know what you did.”
You smirk and reply, “What?”
Jeongin laughs then stage whispers, “You had seeeex.”
They both erupt into laughter, startling both Seungmin and Hyunjin to alertness. Seungmin sighs and nuzzles his face into your shoulder as Hyunjin blearily sits up. Felix snickers and soothes Hyunjin gently as he collapses back on top of him with a groan. Chan is surprisingly dead to the world despite the increasing disturbance caused by Jisung and Jeongin.
“Is that all,” You mutter, unimpressed, “That’s what’s so funny.”
Felix chuckles as Jisung leans over the couch and taps Hyunjin’s arm.
“Hey Jinnie, hey Jinnie.”
“What?”
“Look look,” Hyunjin obliges and glares as Jisung insists, “Look.”
“I’m looking.”
Jisung makes a ‘v’ with his fingers and licks his tongue between them, making Jeongin howl at the gesture. Felix groans and Hyunjin slaps Jisung’s arm.
“Stop that, you freak!”
“Yeah? Am I right, though?”
Jisung looks at you and you cock your eyebrow up.
“You’re not wrong.”
Hyunjin covers his face and Felix laughs suddenly, as the boys become frenzied at your admission. Minho enters the room in his pajamas and frowns at Jisung and Jeongin’s shenanigans.
“Ji, are you coming to bed or not?”
“For the love of God,” Seungmin groans, “Please take him. He’s disturbing the peace.”
“Your face disturbs the peace,” Jisung shoots back.
“Wow. How will I ever recover from that one?”
You giggle then jump as Jeongin stumbles over and slaps his hands down on the couch behind you. You tilt your head back to face him, allowing Seungmin to hide his face better in the crook of your neck.
“Enjoying the cuddle pile, puppy?” The youngest teases.
Seungmin scoffs.
“Mind your business.”
“You know,” Jisung teases, “Maybe if you ask nicely, one of them will suck-”
Minho cuffs the back of Jisung’s head before he can finish the sentence, which makes him fall to the floor with a shout. Chan finally awakens and takes in the scene before him: Hyunjin hiding his face in Felix’s chest, you and Seungmin cuddling at his feet, Minho lifting an indignant Jisung off the floor, and Jeongin grinning over it all. Minho successfully hauls his boyfriend to his feet then begins herding him out of the room, patting his bottom along the way.
“Miiiin, that huuurt!”
“You know what else hurts? The consequences of your actions. Stop running your mouth before you regret it.”
Jisung continues to complain as they leave down the hall. Jeongin leans over Seungmin’s shoulder and smirks as he refuses to leave your neck.
“Fuck off.”
“I’m not doing anything,” Jeongin whines.
You reach up and gently shove him away.
“Leave Min alone. Go to bed, drunkard.”
“I don’t want to…”
“Too late,” Chan grumbles, half-asleep, “Leader’s orders. Go to bed.”
Jeongin pouts and makes a point of poking your forehead before leaving.
“Hey! Brat!”
“And drink some water!” Chan yells after him.
“Alright, dad!”
You giggle as Chan eases himself up and scratches his neck. He pats beside him aimlessly and ends up touching Hyunjin’s hip. Hyunjin looks up at his touch, face still flushed with embarrassment. Felix yawns and begins sitting up.
“I think we should go to bed, yeah?”
You pat Seungmin’s chest gently, fingers still curled together under the blanket.
“You sure you’re okay, Minnie?”
He nods.
“Don’t feel great.”
“Were you drinking?” Hyunjin asks.
He shakes his head. Chan rises and brushes Seungmin’s bangs back to press the back of his hand to his forehead. Seungmin flinches then relaxes as Chan ruffles his hair.
“You’re a little warm. Come here.”
You and Seungmin pull apart as Chan leads his arms around his shoulders. He slips the younger member into his arms bridal-style and carries his limp body off to his room.
“Poor, Min,” You murmur.
“I think he’s just tired,” Hyunjin assures.
Felix nods in agreement then says, “I’ll check on him later. He’ll be okay.”
“We should go to bed, love,” Hyunjin suggests as he stands.
You nod then pause to contemplate. Felix leans forward to lightly pinch your cheek, and smirks at your startled expression.
“What are you thinking about, babe?”
“Well- is our bed bigger, or is yours?”
Felix’s smile intensifies and he closes the distance to give you an eager kiss.
“Mhm!”
“S’cute,” He murmurs as he moves into your lap, “My cute baby. Can’t get enough of you.”
You squeal in delight as you and Felix fall down together on the couch.
“You two,” Hyunjin exasperates, “Someone’s going to see you.”
Felix turns his head to look at your, plural, boyfriend.
“Isn’t that the point? So they know she’s mine?”
“Oh,” Chan remarks as he returns to the room, “She’s yours now, is she?”
Felix blushes and smirks down at you.
“Yeah. Right now she is.”
You hum and bump your nose against his shyly.
“I’ll be yours, Lixie. Anytime.”
“How about all night?”
You blush and giggle in response, mind going to putty at his flirtatious gaze.
“I want to sleep tonight,” Hyunjin huffs.
“And I don’t think you can keep it up all night, frankly,” Chan jabs.
“Don’t call me ‘frankly’, my name is Felix.”
The ridiculous joke shocks a laugh out of you and you quickly become breathless as Hyunjin groans and stomps away.
“I’m done.”
“Babe, please! Come back!” Felix pleads.
Chan stands, still and silent as he watches Felix with an intensely disappointed glare. You are still laughing when Hyunjin stomps back.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.”
Felix winks then helps you sit up.
“It wasn’t that funny,” Chan chastises.
“It wasn’t funny at all,” You reply breathlessly, “That’s what makes it hilarious.”
Felix purses his lips.
“It was a little funny…”
Chan leans over the couch and pecks Felix’s cheek.
“Come on. Let’s head to bed, Frankly.”
“Don’t you start,” Hyunjin sighs.
The two stand together, waiting for you and Felix to untangle from each other and stand up from the couch. You all walk to yours and Chan’s bedroom, sharing light touches and warm smiles along the way. When you enter the room, Hyunjin dives onto the bed and yelps when Chan falls on top of him. You laugh and follow Felix as he takes a seat on the bed and leads you to sit in his lap. You gasp as he rolls over, pinning you between him and Hyunjin as he nuzzles his face into your chest.
“Felix…”
He chuckles and looks up with dazzling eyes.
“Yes, lovely?”
“I love you.”
“Oh, I love you too, baby.”
Hyunjin turns to tuck his face into your shoulder and pull your arm over his hip. You laugh and give his bottom a loving pat as Chan squeezes himself into the space under your arm and uses your shoulder to rest his head.
“I love both of you too,” You whisper.
“M’love you too, beautiful,” Chan replies, his face squishing with force as rubs it into his own sweater.
Hyunjin throws an arm over Chan’s shoulders and Felix links their fingers together where they rest between your bodies.
“We love you too,” Hyunjin says, “Both of you. So much.”
Felix hums and sleepily pulls the blanket over all of you, before you drift off to sleep.

Ace's All Time Best Fic Rec List (AATBFRL) April 2024: Ace Attorney
It's been a 6 months since my last list so here we go again! (I specified Ace Attorney in case I start doing this for other fandoms.) I originally planned to have all the old recs here as well but the list was too long so here's a link to the previous list. These aren't necessarily in any particular order, but if you can think of a good way for me to organize them, please let me know for future lists!
P.S. Anything rated over T mentions that immediately for your browsing convenience.
Doing more self promotion this year, so check out my pinned post or fic tag (desktop only)!
London, 2021- 7 yg Wrightworth hint of Krisnix. Phoenix is presently in London with Edgeworth. Phoenix is presently knowing that he knows about Kristoph but doesn't want to acknowledge it bc Kristoph has been really good to him and Trucy. But that doesn't matter right now bc they're going to the theatre.
if you leave the light on- 7yg Wrightworth. Nothing can happen until it's over but something Keeps happening. Miles will wait as long as it takes and Trucy decides he's part of the family.
In The Dead Of Night- During the 7yg Edgeworth invites the Wrights to Europe. Trucy has a nightmare and 'Uncle Miles' comforts her.
Phoenix's List- After getting his badge back, Phoenix has some regrets and sets about fixing what he can.
Perfect- I actually found this on another fic rec list and I can see why it was their favorite. Set towards the end of the trial of Bridge to Turnabout. TW if you have memory issues, it might be a little hard to get through parts bc of all the mindfuckery. I have to be really vague here so as not to spoil it. (Wrightworth)
Eo Nomine- Klapollo fake marriage turned real marriage but ig that's what happen when you get fake married while being real in love.
the best you'll never have- Rated M for sex reasons. I love the tagline: "Someone else's wedding is something that can actually be so personal". It's a Blackmadhi complicated relationship, what relationship, they weren't actually dating but also...
Apollo and the Artist (1975 - Oil paint, wax crayon, pencil, collage)- Rated M for mentioned sex reasons. Apollo is not an art person. But to Klavier he is art... and also a person. They've known each other for 8 years and it's probably been coming for just as long. It was a long time coming.
darling i'd wait for you (even if you didn't ask me to)- Wrightworth fake date bc Edgeworth needs a plus one to a wedding for some guy, it's not really important. But the cake sucks.
A Knight in a Loud Red Suit- oh my god oh my god oh my god Klavier gets shot and Apollo stabs a guy. And also love confessions at the hospital. They could have me also if they wanted.
Written- Rated E for sex reasons. Edgeworth moonlights as a Steel Samurai fic writer, and due to it being an obvious coping mechanism for his life and feeling Maya finds out... and accidentally sends a fic to Phoenix who... finds out. Half of the smut is Edgeworth's own fanfic, so we get like... fanfic-ception. That doesn't really work with more than one syllable words, huh...
Lover Be Good to Me- Rated M for implied sex reasons. 5+1 klapollo wooing each other.
Love Love Love- Rated M for implied sex reasons. klapollo is messy in a good way and takes wayyyy too long to call themselves boyfriends. Set from middle of aa4 to past aa6.
delicate- Rated M for sex reasons. klapollo is messy in a bad way (long distance is hard) and they break up but it works out, I prommy. If you don't like angst you'll want to skip this one, though.
(i was) enchanted to meet you- klavquill! I love them, I need to read more fics with them. They meet at the Prosecutor gala for the first time and sparks fly. Actually, they were fireworks, but that's not important.
Process of Elimination- Rated M for sex reasons. One day I will read a fic where Blackmadhi is not complicated as hell. Can they ever talk about their feelings? Apparently I like this, though, bc I keep reading and recc'ing them. Um, Nahyuta is looking for a fuck buddy and by 'process of elimination' ends up deciding on Blackquill but whoops! Feelings.
feel your skin- Rated M for one boner. Klavier is infuriating AND wearing lipgloss and Apollo can't take it. Cue making out in the janitor's closet.
moribund- I keep thinking about this one so I need everyone else to read and think about it with me. Pre Gant busting, POV Lana has to help clean up his messes. This a comedy, mostly of errors.
chronophobia- StarrSkye (AngelxLana) Be forewarned, you are going to cry. Lana has done her time and is trying to find a way to reconnect with the most important people from her past.
Crash! Landing- Junithena, fantastic traumatized autistic representation, if I do say so myself as a traumatized autistic person. It is very sweet and Juniper is a real one. I need me one of those.
In Pursuit of Justice- This one is not yet complete, but I preemptively j'adore'd it. It's a klapollo. Sebastian is great. He says Apollo looks like a frog (accurate).
Witcheln Woes- Secret Santa klapollo and they are cute and Clay is alive and it is sooooo fluffy.
Samurai Swear- Maya making besties with Edgeworth! Maya and Phoenix being besties also! Dash of mutual pining wrigthworth.
Missing You/Missing Time- Ok, hear me out, yes, the mystical bullshit tag is accurate, and de-aging is a weird concept, but !!! It actually serves this story very well! It is a fanfic that feels like a fanfic, but sometimes you want that, you know? Not every fanfic needs to feel like Little Women. Established klapollo first I love yous.

CHAPTER 13
“Am I interrupting?”
Your eyes snapped open as you turned to look at Robin who walked right into your office with a smirk to her face. You rolled your eyes, turning back to look at your phone with a shake of your head, the male on the other side laughing.
“You know what Buckley, you are.” Eddie said and you saw his smile spreading as he also earned another roll of your eyes.
“Eddie is just showing me what else needs replacing in my car.”
“Cause you took it to Rick’s all this time, and everything in it is garbage–”
“Don’t insult my car Munson.” You glared at the phone this time and he raised one hand up in defense.
It’s been two weeks since you talked with Eddie… And since then, you two have grown close… Very close. How you didn’t talk to Eddie before? You had no idea. When you all get together at the bar or at someone’s house, you two always end up in your own world. You assumed that you were both trying to catch up on eachother, learning about one another still, and you were surprised each day by how easy and normal it was to talk to him.
“To me, it sounds like you are replacing me.” Robin pouted as she walked over to you to come into frame and glare at Eddie through the camera and the man only smirked at her with a playful glint in his eyes.
“Aw, you’re scared I’m going to steal your best friend status Buckley?”
“That’s never happening.” You said in a deadpan expression which made Eddie pull an offended frown on his eyebrows.
“Seriously? I give you friendly discounts at my shop!” He yelled at you and you couldn’t help but snort at how he tried to sound hurt from it, but it only came out as a comical act.
“You can’t buy my friendship Munson, and even if you handed me a billion dollars, Robin will always be first.” At your words, Robin blew a raspberry towards the phone, throwing a fart sound at Eddie. Robin’s arms wrapped around your waist and she rested her head on your shoulder while looking at Eddie, a grin to her face.
“You wish this was you, huh.” For some reason, those words Robin let out of her mouth gave you a feeling of embarrassment? They just simply made your belly twist in a way that wasn’t comfortable but it wasn’t unpleasant.
Eddie on the other side shook his head, yet he felt his jaw clenching slightly, which he dismissed immediately.
“Sure. Anyways, I gotta go, the new brake discs are coming in next week. We really need to put those in at least before you cause an accident.” You rolled your eyes at him and before you could say anything against that, “No comebacks. I am surprised you didn’t die yet.”
“I drive safely.” You retorted, almost offended, but Robin was amused and let out a snort out of her mouth. Your head snapped to look at her with a death glare and she backed away from you with her hands up in the air in defense.
“I’ll believe it when I see it. Talk to you later.”
“Sure– Oh, about the payment–”
“Next month is okay.” You sighed at his words and you shook your head at him.
“I can do a check.” It was his turn to snort.
“No, it’s fine, seriously Peach.” Eddie sucked in his right cheek as he looked at you and his brows twitched slightly when you sent a smile his way. It was still new, this friendship you two have, and it seems he is still a little weirded out that you smile at him so easily. Not that he is any different.
“Alright, if you insist, I will take advantage of your kindness.” You heard a commotion behind him as he squatted slightly as if ducking and he just yelled at someone before turning back at you.
“I gotta go before these fuckers do something– FUCKING CHRIST, GARETH–!” And then the call ended. You were left laughing at the whole ordeal, putting the phone down to go back to your laptop, only to feel a presence behind you and you remembered your best friend came into the room a few minutes ago. You turned your chair to look at her, and Robin had her arms crossed over her chest as she looked at you.
“Well, I see you’re slowly changing me.” Robin has always been known for over exaggerating things, and this was one of them. You rolled your eyes and turned again to type on your computer.
“I am not Robs.” You defended yourself but it was true you and Eddie had become very close, but it wasn’t as nearly as how you and Robin are.
“You talk to him everyday, be it because of a TikTok or a Reel, or just simply messaging.” Robin walked towards you and leaned her butt against the edge to rest there as she looked down at you.
“We just… We clicked. Putting the past behind us.”
“Which still sounds fucking crazy to me. To everyone really– I mean, you two really hated each other.” And you didn’t need a reminder of that.
“It was very pitiful. We were hurting each other when we could have helped one another. I hurt him and he hurt me, and all for nothing.” Robin nodded at you, and she agreed with you on that. You had told her about what you and Eddie talked about, and you even bared to her how guilty you felt about so many things you said to him.
Robin explained that everyone’s stories are private, so you didn’t really blame her for not telling you stuff about Eddie’s life, just like she didn’t tell Eddie anything about you.
“I know… I am glad though. You two seem to be enjoying one another’s company so… that’s good.” Robin said sincerely and you smiled up at her. “And what about Billy? How do you think everything will go once they meet?”
“Well, I think they will hit it off instantly.” In all honesty, you didn’t know if that was true. Eddie and Billy had different yet alike personalities in some sense. Aloof, cheeky, yet attentive if needed. It would be the first time you were going to introduce Eddie to him, and Billy only knows Eddie as the friend who sends you memes all the time.
He doesn’t even know his name is Eddie. You will introduce them tomorrow night.
And you were hoping everything turns out okay.
Tumblr media
Things with Billy have been…
Normal.
Ever since meeting your friends, your boyfriend has been a little bit weirder than usual. You wanted to have an all together with his friends and yours, so that the two groups would collide and meet, but all you received from your boyfriend was a talk on how his friends are known figures, and they cannot be seen going out at all.
That felt weird in some sense because you distinctly remember them saying something about going out to a club whenever they get a chance to do so. They didn’t look like the type of people that would avoid the public eye, but rather, seek it. Always seeking it.
Today, you and your boyfriend would go to Robin and Steve’s home, get some drinks, spend time with your friends, but sometimes now you just want to be alone with them. Your boyfriend, even if at the beginning was not very friendly with your group, he now seems to want to be included at every gathering.
You didn’t want to be a bitch about it, cause maybe he does like talking to Argyle a lot. But, they can just message each other to get together by themselves, right? No need for Billy to always be on an outing with you, yet, he sticks with you like a leech.
You wonder how tonight everything will go with Eddie. Hopefully, he is the one that makes your boyfriend finally have some fun inside the group. You’re pretty sure they will get along nicely… hopefully.
You were in the bathroom, throwing the curtain to the side in order to open it as steam floods the entire tiled room. You step out of the tub after turning off the scorching water, just how you like it. Hot showers always help with your nerves, they never miss it. You sigh in contentment only to be struck with the fact that you didn’t bring a towel inside.
You groaned as your body started shivering slightly as the air hit your wet skin. You didn’t want to yell so much in respect for your neighbors, so you leaned and opened the door, opening your mouth to call out to your boyfriend, only to stop when you heard his muffled voice behind the bedroom door.
“I told you I don’t want to do it!”
Silence.
“I don’t want to be part of something I don’t see right.”
Silence again. What is he talking about?
“I know it’s for publicity, I know, and I don’t care what the voting polls in social media say, I won’t stand for something I don’t believe is right.”
Polls? Social media?
“Okay, okay, fine. Fine. I will say I stand by it.”
You were blinking, trying to understand what your boyfriend was talking about just now. A publicity stunt? Agree to what? A belief of his? You heard footsteps and immediately closed the door of the bathroom as quietly as possible and you felt your heart beating loudly in your chest. You jumped in your place when he knocked on the door.
“Baby? You okay in there?” Fuck, he can’t know you were eavesdropping.
“Y-Yeah! I was calling you to get me a towel but you weren’t listening to me Billy! I am freezing over here!” You tried to put on that whiny voice he loves when you get a little bit angry at him. You heard him chuckle but wince at your tone.
“Shit honey, I’m sorry. I’ll get it for you!” You heard his steps walk away from the bathroom and you let out the air you were holding in.
Something’s not right.
Something is definitely not right.
You don’t know what it is, but there is just this feeling in your gut that something will happen, that something is not what it seems, that there is this idea in your head you are afraid that is true but you don’t want to believe it. Not from him. Not when you started to feel more and more for him each day.
Only to be starting to wash away the more and more you learn from him.
“Billy!” You yelled again and the door opened completely, revealing a smirking Billy Hargrove on the other side while holding a white towel in hand.
“You want it?” He aimed to hand it to you, but as soon as you were going to catch it, he snatched it away with his teeth showing. “Come get it.”
And that’s how you end up chasing your stupid boyfriend through the whole apartment, completely naked while he runs around, laughing in delight, towel in hand.
You didn’t want to believe it.
So when you finally get to dry yourself off, and get some clothes on for tonight is when your nerves start settling in, harder than before. Something in your gut was turning, uncomfortably, nervously, knowing that something was not right, that something was going to happen, that something had been happening all this time that you decided to simply look away from.
You looked at him, at your splendid boyfriend and you still don’t know how he chose someone like you. How he decided it was you the one he was going to risk his fame for. He was choosing a red button-up shirt today, his hair in a small ponytail in the back. You don’t know how you two came to be.
And yet, you still haven’t told him your story. You haven’t told him a few parts of yourself you didn’t feel ready to tell him, but will that time ever come? Why is it so hard to open up to him?
“You ready to go?” Billy asked you as he walked towards you after checking himself in the mirror one last time. You smiled up at him and gave him a nod.
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
Tumblr media
“You finally made it, Jesus.” Robin greeted you as she opened the door for you, and you rolled your eyes at your friend’s comment. You were late, yes… but it was because Billy took his sweet time always getting ready. You scolded him a few times for it, but he always tells you he has to keep his skincare routine intact.
“What a greeting.” You heard Billy mutter under his voice as you two walked into the house, music already invading your ears and the chattering of your friends, making your nerves go away a little, only for confusion and disappointment to fill your gut. You turned your head as Robin came back from closing the door behind you both.
“Where’s Eddie?” You asked, and your boyfriend’s head snapped to you and then back at Robin.
“I think he is running late! What, already missing your NEW best friend?” Robin answered with a huff, and you could only giggle at her jealousy, not noticing the storm that was brewing inside your boyfriend’s chest.
“Quit that Robs.”
“Who’s Eddie?”
Robin looked at your boyfriend for a second with a confused frown on her face and then back at you. For some reason, there was a turn in your stomach because you realized you never told Billy about Eddie. He just knew there was a friend missing from the group he still hadn’t met yet.
“Um, the last friend you don’t know.” You looked at him and his blue orbs were not very helpful. You couldn’t quite read his eyes as they looked at you, but a twitch in the eyebrow told you he was thinking.
“Why did she call him your best friend?” And Robin was looking panicked between you and your boyfriend, and you simply smiled at Billy, shaking your head.
“It’s Robin being dramatic.”
“Why did she call him that? I mean–” And you could see the moment Billy’s head clicked, an eyebrow raised up. “Is he the one you’ve been talking to for the past few weeks?”
“Okay, you say we talked, we mostly sent memes to one another.” You tried to defend yourself, but against what? You didn’t do anything wrong. So why do you feel the need to explain yourself?
“Right.” You could see the change in mood in Billy’s body language. This night was already turning in a way that you didn’t expect, or you wanted to avoid. Robin shot you a look with a worried frown and you turned to go into the living room where everyone else was.
“Billy! My man!” You could hear Argyle yell and god fucking bless Argyle. You saw how he rushed towards you both as Robin walked towards Nancy and whispered into her ear. You knew she was going to tell Nancy about what just happened at the front door with Billy. There is an uneasiness in your throat as Argyle hands you a beer and Billy another.
“Hi, Argyle.” Billy spoke and you took a sip out of your beer as you felt Billy’s arm wrap around your waist, pulling you close. You raised an eyebrow at that, looking at him. Why did he trap you with him? You wanted to go say hi to Steve and Jonathan, but you guessed you could do that in a few minutes.
“I have so much to tell you Billy man, I tried that shampoo and conditioner you recommended and it left my hair perfectly smooth, but curly man!” You couldn’t help but giggle at Argyle’s commentary and Billy followed through, shaking his head at your friend.
“I told you to get that brand but for straight hair. Not curly.” You looked at Argyle’s hair and sure enough, there were some waves at the end of his long hair. Billy smiled but there was a hint of something hidden behind it as he talked to Argyle once more, “Who is this Eddie guy?”
“Ah, my brochacho, we met way back in California, and then I followed him here.” Argyle replied with a genuine smile and Billy for some reason let out a sigh of relief, making you frown in confusion.
“Oh, that’s nice. You two are close then.”
“Yeah, very!” You felt the tightness on your waist loosen up, and Billy shot a smile your way, kissing the top of your head. You blinked in confusion and you stepped away to finally go greet Steve and Jonathan who were looking at you with worried faces.
“What was that all about?” Steve asked and you shook your head, taking a long sip out of your beer. There was a pit in your stomach, a nervousness you couldn’t quite describe, a sense of deja vu of some sort.
“I have no clue, but…” You didn’t want to worry your friends with these things going on inside your head. They would question your boyfriend and you don’t want that but at the same time, you want to tell someone about these feelings you’ve been having lately, or the realization of these feelings.
It’s not like you didn’t notice the drastic changes in Billy over the past months, and it all started when he met your friends, but it got better… Yet, you couldn’t help but notice certain aspects and your feelings started swaying from side to side. A sense of dread, of being afraid to know the truth.
“But?” Jonathan asked and you opened your mouth to then close it once again when the doorbell rang, making your head turn to the direction of the door. You were feeling your heart in your throat, and excitement grew in your stomach.
Nancy was the one who walked to get the door this time, and you looked over at Argyle and Billy talking excitedly. You saw how Argyle was gesturing as he talked, and you saw how your boyfriend laughed at his commentary. Maybe he and Eddie will get along. You were worrying about nothing.
And then Nancy stepped aside to let Eddie walk in.
You felt some heat coming up on your cheeks, across your body, but you shook it off as the beer kicking in your system. Your eyes scanned his outfit now. Dark jeans, ripped in some parts, a tight Slayer T-Shirt with a jean vest on top. His hair was in a low bun like always, and the stubble was neatly done.
You wondered what cologne he was using today.
Your mind was snapped back in reality when Eddie approached you, putting the six-pack on the table. He had a warm smile on his face as he flicked your forehead with his middle finger. You winced at the sudden pain, rubbing your skin while glaring up at him.
“What was that for!?” You whined at him and he raised an eyebrow at you.
“For making me watch the stupidest movie ever.”
“Did you just call ‘When Harry Met Sally’ stupid!?” You couldn’t help but be slightly upset by that. It was one of your favorites, and you also liked watching Eddie’s movie suggestion, ‘Armageddon’.
“I am not a fan of those kinds of movies sweetheart.” He was looking at you as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, but there was a sly smile in his lips, tugging up, making you smile at him.
“You’re a lying piece of shit. You liked the movie.” He chuckled and shook his head at you, but you knew he liked it. He was just messing with you to get a rise out of you.
“I’m not lying.”
“Yes you are! You loved that cheesy crap, admit it.” You poked his side, which made him chuckle, moving away from you.
“This is still too weird.” You heard Jonathan talk and you lifted your head to ask what he meant only for your waist to suddenly be grabbed, fingers digging into the skin making you wince just slightly. You turned your head to see Billy looking at Eddie with a grin on his face.
“I don’t think we’ve met.” The voice your boyfriend let out was not friendly. It was strained as if it pained him talking right now. Eddie glanced at you for just a second, and you cleared your throat as your nerves tried to get the best of you.
“Right, Billy, this is Eddie.” Eddie gave your boyfriend a forced smile, and you could feel the tension in the air as the light blue eyes clashed with the brown ones.
“Yeah. You’re Argyle’s boyfriend, right?”
Oh. Oh god. It’s happening again. Eddie’s eyebrow twitched and gave you a questioning look and he could see the confused frown on your face. He looked at his friend and sighed, knowing that Argyle probably made it sound that way. Just like he did last year with you and you mistook it all as well.
“Fucking christ– No. He is just my friend.”
“Oh?” Billy’s eye twitched as he kept looking at Eddie, and you could feel him tugging you closer to him as he kept looking at the dark-haired man. “Then you aren’t dating?”
“No. I am straight.”
And for some reason, you felt the whole air shift. Eddie’s face suddenly fell into a confused frown, and then into an annoyed one instantly, as Billy’s gaze hardened.
“Right. He is the friend you’ve been messaging all the time?”
Billy’s eyes now landed on you and you looked at him to only have a sinking feeling in your stomach. You felt your throat closing up at his gaze, and you knew. You simply knew what was going on in his mind. Eddie was looking back and forth in between you and Billy, and he could see how your boyfriend’s jaw clenched.
“I– um–”
“Billy! You promised to help me with the drinks!” You heard Argyle yell from the kitchen and Billy groaned as he closed his eyes in annoyance. You felt a slight grip on your waist again and then he let go of you, almost unwillingly, giving Eddie one last look before he left. You were staring at his retreating back as he headed to the kitchen, with a confused frown on your face.
“He’s… charming.” Eddie said with not an ounce of likeness in his tone, almost in disgust. He had a bad feeling in his stomach, but he wasn’t going to tell you that. He didn’t want to alarm you in any way, but you looked already confused and nervous. He didn’t want to add more wood to the fire.
“I– I need a smoke.” You stated and immediately rushed out to the backyard, fumbling with the pack of cigarettes in the pocket of your purse. What was going on? Why did Billy’s demeanor change so suddenly? You never told him it was Eddie the one you were messaging, but did it really matter?
You put the cigarette in your mouth, and now you were fumbling to get the lighter out, but you couldn’t find it. Billy doesn’t like it when you smoke, but he smokes as well. You don’t understand that train of thought, but you don't care right now. A flame appeared in front of you from a red lighter and you knew who it was without even looking at him. You leaned forward and lit the cigarette, taking a long puff.
“You look nervous.” Eddie lit his own stick, mimicking the long puff like you did, and you both let out the smoke out of your lungs.
“I just… don’t understand why he is being… this possessive?”
“Well, he might be overwhelmed by how much more of a man I am.” He joked and you snorted, shaking your head at him. He gave you a small grin and took another puff of his cigarette. “You also look pretty today, people tend to become protective when their partner shines.”
You were taken aback by his response. Did you hear him right?
“Oh Munson thinks I am pretty.” You joked, taking another swig of your stick, turning to look at him, but he wasn’t laughing as he looked to the distance.
“No denying there.”
Thump.
He was just being friendly. Steve complimented you before, Nancy did too, so it should be fine. He was just being a nice friend, telling you that you look nice tonight, that is all. So why do you feel your hands sweating?
“Uh–”
“Are you not going to say I look pretty too? C’mon, I even put a red shirt on today, not a black one.” He chuckled to lose the tension but inside, Eddie was a little nervous. The compliment slipped out of his tongue with ease, too much ease. You giggled, the tension going away, and shook your head at him.
“The red and the black go hand in hand with you, it’s not new.”
“What do you want me to wear? A pink shirt? A baby blue crop top?” You exploded with laughter at the image that came to your head, making him face you with a smile to his face.
“With the care bears at the front!” At that, he too let out a laugh. It was easy being with Eddie, carefree, natural even. You were still amazed by that fact, and cannot even remember how you two disliked each other before.
You both smoked your cigarettes, sharing jokes with one another, laughing, making the nervousness in your belly leave to a faraway place.
“It’s crazy to think I almost beat the shit out of you out here and now we are laughing together.” You put the cigarette out in the small ashtray that was on the garden table and Eddie followed suit with a chuckle.
“You? Beating the shit out of me? Are you sure about that Peach?” He stood in front of you, crossing his arms over his chest as he inspected you with a squint of his eyes. You copied his stance, and his eyes diverted for a second to your cleavage and went back up to your eyes.
“You think I can’t?” He barked out a laugh at that.
“Sweetheart, if I wanted to, I could pin you to the floor using only one hand.”
And oh, that didn’t cause the reaction you thought it would. It was friendly, it was him telling you he is stronger than you… Yet your stomach did a flip at the thought. He could definitely pin you down, and you know that because of his height and the arms that are big and filled with tattoos.
He looked at you when you didn’t answer him back, and he noticed the look your face had as if processing a thought, and he felt a shockwave run down his spine. His thoughts were cut off when he sensed a pair of eyes looking his way, and he raised his head up to see Billy glaring at him as he leaned over the doorframe of the sliding doors with his arms crossed over his chest.
You blinked and quickly turned around to see your boyfriend with a stern look on his face. Now you realize how fast your heart was beating into your chest, and now you felt the nervousness creep up on you again as you stared at Billy’s piercing gaze.
“Billy–”
“Can I talk to you for a second? Privately?”
You slowly nodded at that, giving Eddie one look telling him sorry you’re leaving, and turned to go with Billy. He didn’t grab you or hold your hand, simply turned away, guiding you toward the kitchen. You could sense your friend’s eyes following you as you walked into the kitchen, Billy closing the door behind you.
“Um… is everything okay?”
“You think everything is fucking okay?”
You were stunned at his aggressiveness, never had heard him this way before. You didn’t know what could have possibly happened tonight, but you might have just a slight idea of what and why.
“What is wrong with you?”
“You fucked him, didn’t you?”
And your mouth fell agape at that. Did you hear him right?
“Sorry, what did you say?”
“For fuck sake, you fucked him, didn’t you?”
So you did hear right. Was he talking about Eddie? Why would he come up with that conclusion? What made him believe such a thing between you two?
“I was hoping I heard wrong William, what the fuck are you talking about?” Billy only scoffed with a fake smile on his lips as he leaned against the counter.
“Don’t you dare lie to me! I know you fucked him. That is not just a friend, calling you 'sweetheart'? Giggling together like middle schoolers?”
Was he serious right now? You were feeling your heart breaking, thrumming in your chest in an aggressive manner, and you wanted to run away, you did, but you had to face him. You had to talk to him, once and for all.
“He is my friend! I act that way with Steve, Jonathan!”
“Yeah, well, they’re gay! I don’t care about them!” You could hear the anger in his voice, the way the vein in his forehead was popping out. Your throat was trying to close as a lump was beginning to form, but you weren’t going to back down from this.
“What about Argyle!? He is straight and my friend!” You yelled back at him and he ran a hand through his hair as his nostrils started flaring up from anger.
“I don’t buy for a second he is straight. He is all over me, all the time.”
And the reality of it all hits you like a brick to the face. You remained quiet for a second, feeling your past months with him slip away from your fingers. The image you had of him had been tainted for a while, but this completely smeared the picture.
“And is there a problem if he is?”
And that made Billy look at you, defying you to keep going, almost warning you to shut up, but no… not with this. You liked Billy. You really did.
“What are you saying–”
“You do know that I’m bisexual, right?”
And silence fell in the kitchen. And you saw it. You saw how his eyes turned from anger to complete confusion, to then frown as he looked at you. It was your turn now to scoff, tears filling your eyes as you started pacing around the kitchen, trying to gather your thoughts.
“You…” He couldn’t even speak, and you didn’t want him to. He shouldn’t speak now.
“I thought I was fucking wrong, I seriously didn’t want to believe it. I didn’t want to believe that my boyfriend… that my boyfriend is–” You cannot even say the word. You can’t. You choked on your own sob as you covered your mouth with your hand. Billy’s face softened and he walked towards you, trying to put a hand on your shoulder.
“Baby–”
“Don’t fucking touch me!” You swung his hand away with the back of yours and you stepped away, your face displaying the rage that your heart wanted to let out. “Let me ask you a fucking question, Billy. Are you for or against same-sex couples adopting?”
And he realized it. You saw how his face turned into an angry one again, his eyes squinting at you as he remembered earlier today.
“You eavesdropped.”
“You bet the fuck I did. And you, Billy Hargrove, are a homophobic asshole.”
Silence.
It was like a knife. Those words coming out of your mouth were stabbing you more than they stabbed him. You should have realized it when some of the dark jokes he and his friends did involved… you can’t even think about it. How could he? Why?
“Just because I do not share the same ideals, doesn’t make me homophobic. If I were, I wouldn’t be able to even talk to your friends for fuck sake!” He defended himself but what was the point? There wasn’t any, your heart couldn’t take it anymore, it really couldn’t. You could feel the tears sliding down your cheeks, shaking your head at him, taking a step back from him.
“I want you to leave.” Your words came out like venom, and he frowned at you, shaking his head.
“If I leave, you are coming with me, we need to talk this out–”
“There is nothing to talk about! Fucking leave!” Your voice was loud, his voice was loud, and everything was static around you, your vision clouding as he came close to you once more, trying to get hold of your hands.
“Baby, baby, come on, don’t be like that… We’ll go home and we’ll talk about this–” His voice sounded desperate now, and your tears were still running down your cheeks, your mind shutting him out completely as you shook your head again, desperate for him to leave. You didn’t want him near you. You were disgusted, completely disgusted.
“N-No!” Billy’s face crumbled into a stern look once more and he quickly got hold of your bicep in a tight grip, snapping you back into reality as he glared down at you.
“I am not leaving you alone here, with him. So if I leave, you are coming with me.” You tried to yank your arm away from his grip but he kept his hand tight on your arm, and you were feeling his digits digging more and more onto your skin, making your fear grow at each second.
“Let go of me Billy!” You tried again only to be pulled against him and you felt as if your heart were in your throat, his touch completely burning you, wanting it away from you. He wasn’t physical, never, and this is the first time he ever touched you in this way.
“Please sweets, listen to me!” He was desperate for you, trying to get you to talk to him but you shook your head again and as he tried to move you once more, he felt the back of his shirt be yanked harshly, making him let go of your arm as he stumbled backward.
“What the actual fuck do you think you are doing?”
Your eyes widened as you saw a broad back stepping before you, and the smell of wooden cologne immediately invaded your nostrils. You rubbed onto your arm as you straightened up to take a step to the side to see Billy looking at Eddie with a glare in his eyes.
“This doesn’t concern you. It involves me, and my girlfriend.”
“From what I heard it seems she doesn’t hold that title anymore.” Eddie was almost snarling at Billy, completely blocking him from you in a defensive stance. Billy’s eyes caught yours, shaking his head.
“You– You’re still my girl, right?”
You felt the lump in your throat again, memories of the good times you spent with him flashing in front of your eyes. Memories that made you want to go around Eddie to get to him and hug him and kiss him. But then you saw your friends, looking at the scene at the doorway. Your friends. The ones who wouldn’t hurt you, and if they did, never intentionally.
And even if your heart breaks, even if your body trembles with need of him, with the need of his lips, with the need of his eyes on you…
You slowly shook your head at him.
“Bye Billy.”
The room fell silent, and you could see Billy’s eyes filled with tears as he looked at you. What the both of you had was genuine, and it was growing to something even more beautiful, but this is not something you can accept from him. Ever. No matter if he tells you he can change because an ideal never changes that easily.
But his saddened frown turned into a sour one, rage filling his features as his gaze turned to Eddie and then back at you.
“You didn’t answer my first question, but I guess it was true then? You remain friends with guys you fuck darling?”
Your heart shattered at his coldness, at him insulting you this way, almost as if he were calling you ‘slut’ in a very indirect way. A tear rolled down your cheek as you looked at him with shock filled eyes.
And it all happened too quickly. Suddenly Billy was face to face with Eddie, as the dark haired man gripped the front of his shirt while he glared down at your now ex-boyfriend. Ex. Another ex.
“Get the fuck out or I will ruin your only source of income pretty boy.” Eddie growled at Billy and pushed him away roughly, making Billy tumble slightly, almost hitting the counter behind him.
His eyes searched for yours one last time, and you could see the hurt in them, reflecting your own. You didn’t doubt his caring for you, not even a second. It was genuine, all of it, but you cannot forgive him for what he did, and does for publicity. You looked away from him and you heard him sigh, followed by steps that were going towards the doorway where all your friends moved away from so he could go through.
“I’ll get my manager to pick my things up from your house. He’ll return yours.”
More steps. More. The front door opening. And then, a slam.
And you broke down.
You were hurt, disgusted, in pain, feeling helpless because of this situation that couldn’t be fixed now. Never. No matter if you have feelings for him, if you will miss the days and nights spent with him. Tears ran down your cheeks as you sobbed into your hands, two arms wrapping around you as a lavender scent filled your nostrils.
Robin was cooing at you, rubbing your head, holding you like a baby to her chest. Your hands gripped her shirt as you cried onto it. Yes… Even if you are hurting you would never choose someone that hates your friends for their orientation.
You wouldn’t choose them over Robin who is holding you tenderly and has held you this way many times before. You will hurt. You will cry. You will need time alone and space to gather and piece yourself back together again.
But they will all help you through it. Even Eddie who is behind Robin with a frown in his face, Steve next to him with the same look but his hand was on Eddie’s shoulder, pressing on it.
It will be okay.

LOST YOU | Natasha Romanoff
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAIRING: Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
CW: angst no comfort, mentions of cheating (Nat), implied that Nat has a cock, implied WandaNat, pregnancy (Wanda)
PROMPT: 44 — “I need you to tell me the truth” Prompt pt. 3
A/N: Trying to cure my writer’s block by using prompts (I have no idea what I wrote, kindly excuse this mess). First time writing for Nat. Let’s just say vision was human and can impregnate for more drama. We love drama. *wink wink*
A/N (4/3/23): I added a paragraph or so to make it seem that the baby is Nat’s, which means I debunked the whole “Vision is human and can impregnate” thing where we don’t know if the baby was Vision’s or Nat’s, but it was clear from the beginning that it’s Nat’s huhu.
WORDS: 1,721
Lost You — Pt. II
(FANFIC IS UNDER THE CUT!)
Tumblr media
“I need you to tell me the truth,” you croaked out as you tried to hold your ground from breaking down in front of her, but the crack in your voice ruined your facade. You can’t keep letting her get away with things, not anymore. You’re tired and drained. You couldn’t do this anymore, for your sake. You didn’t want to hate her, even when you should, considering she had been hurting you. “You can’t keep lying to me, Nat. ”
Natasha expected to see you sitting in the middle or at the edge of your shared bed, doing something to occupy yourself as you waited for her to retire to your shared chambers, but she wasn’t expecting this. She wasn’t expecting the usually prim and proper room littered with clothes and your luggage—and you, putting your clothes away, your back facing her. You shakily breathe, “How long have you been seeing her?” She hesitantly walked toward you, heels clacking against the wooden floor with each step. “What are you talking about, detka—”
You interrupted her with a scoff when you turned to face her with a pained and angry expression, and she immediately shut up upon the sight. She always acts clueless for someone who could easily see through someone’s facade. You thought that it was pathetic of her to deflect what you said. “Don’t change the subject, Romanoff!” you hissed. Oh, you’re mad. “Stop lying and tell me the truth! You know what I’m talking about.”
Only when she saw your glistening eyes with unshed tears that she realizes what you said. Her stomach churned, and her heart dropped. Natasha balled her fists, and her eyes widened, but she refused to look at you and deemed that the floor was suddenly more interesting to look at. Regardless, she reluctantly nodded, indicating that she would tell you the truth. Her eyes pooled with unshed tears as a wave of regret and guilt washed over her. She got caught—right before she could end things with her.
“How long?” Nat shivered at your tone. Her eyes flickered to yours and caught a glimpse of your expression before you turned away and continued gathering your things. It was emotionless—dead—and it was because of her. She flinched when you repeated your question with more context, more daggers through your heart as you emphasized that word. “How long have you been cheating on me? With Wanda?”
“Two—” Natasha swallowed the lump in her throat, and it felt like she had digested a bitter pill. She cringed at her words. “O-Only two months.” You closed your eyes, and your dam of tears shattered. Your cheeks stung as salty droplets cascaded down your skin. ‘Only two months’? Three years of marriage down the drain because of a sixty-day affair? Nat saw you tremble and put a hand on your mouth to keep yourself from sobbing, but it didn’t work. She wanted to hold you in her arms but knew it would only worsen the situation.
“WHY?!” you snapped, turning around to face her again. Your eyes and cheeks were red as tears continued to roll down your face. “Was I not good enough? Did I not please you enough? I gave you everything! I gave you my soul and body to use as you pleased, so why?!” You saw that Natasha was silently crying but was trying to stop herself from doing so. You knew the answer, but you carried on regardless.
You weren’t giving her enough attention because of your demanding work as a doctor and she was an Avenger, both needed by the world, but you gave her everything when you could. Natasha just needed more, but you weren’t there when she needed you, so she found someone else: her fellow Avenger who had just lost Vision. It was supposed to be a one or two-time affair for meaningless sex, but the ex-assassin kept returning to her, even when you were free from work. She was going to end things before she lost you, but she was too late.
“Does she have something I don’t?” Natasha denies it. “Does she let you use her better than I do?” She denies it. “Does she make you happier than I do?” She denies it. “Then why did you not choose me over her?” She doesn’t answer, and you sigh, running your hands through your face before placing a hand on your chest as you mutter, “I’M YOUR WIFE, FOR FUCKING SAKE, NATASHA!” The word ‘wife’ triggered her to fall to her knees and watch as you sat at the edge of the bed in frustration, hand holding your face as more tears ran down your face. “You could’ve told me you wanted more. I would’ve given everything up to make you happy. You just needed to tell me, not her…”
You were a sobbing mess because of Nat, and it greatly pained her how badly she had hurt you. She doesn’t even know why she keeps coming back to her because you are the one she loves, not her. Natasha shuffled on her knees before you, gently grabbing your wrists as she pressed her forehead against yours, mumbling, “I’m sorry,” over, and over again. You had so many unanswered questions, but the answers will only add more daggers to your bleeding heart. You couldn’t take more pain, not when a bullet of news had pierced your heart hours ago. “Divorce papers are coming in a few days,” you sniffled. “I don’t want anything; just leave me be.” You didn’t want this. You didn’t want to leave her, but you couldn’t stay.
The ex-assassin’s eyes widened at your statement. You’re leaving her. She doesn’t want to lose you. You were the greatest thing that had happened to her, but she overlooked the fact and messed up. “No, no, no, no,” she rambled. “Please, let me make things right. Give me another chance. Please. I can’t lose you, Y/n.” Natasha’s tone was genuine. You looked at her eyes, and they were begging you to stay and forgive her, but you couldn’t. A cheater will always be a cheater.
“Wanda revealed your affair and begged for my forgiveness this morning, begging me to forgive you and that it was her fault for causing this mess.” You bitterly chuckled. “I was going to give you one more chance because I love you… but she’s with a child.” Your future ex-wife’s eyes widened when you uttered the words she feared. Her worst fear about her two-month fling came true, but she couldn’t accept it. “T-There must be a mistake!” Nat’s eyes were pleading that it was false news. “It can’t be my child!”
As much as Natasha hurt you for cheating and getting someone else pregnant, it pained you to see the horrified expression on her face. You wanted to hold her in your arms, but it will only keep you from leaving. “The only one she was ever with when she lost Vision was you,” you trailed off and reluctantly cupped her face, making her flinch and tighten her hold on your wrists. “Vision is a robot, Nat. He can’t physically have children with Wanda even if they wanted to…” Natasha wanted to cut you off, to shut you up from speaking, but she was too broken and in shock to do anything, making you say your words to slap her in the face with a reality check; “The baby is yours.”
You felt her hands tremble, and your lap was damp with her tears. You didn’t want to stay with a cheater, even if you loved her with all your heart. You can’t be mad—you weren’t mad— just sad and disappointed at yourself for not making her happy. You deserved this. “I can’t stay, Natalia, even if I wanted to.” The older woman cried, tears gushing down her face and pleading with you that she can make this work like how it was before when nothing was wrong, “W-Wanda isn’t in the right emotional state to carry a child, she’s still grieving a-and, and and she wouldn't want to raise a child she doesn’t even want—”
“She wishes to keep the child, Nat… I let her,” you tenderly, yet sadly, smiled as you pressed your forehead against hers. The room was filled with questions about why you approved Wanda’s selfish request. You let another woman carry your wife’s child, but that's the thing, Natasha was soon to be your ex-wife. While it hurt you that Wanda wanted to keep the child, you realized that the child had nothing to do with breaking your relationship with Nat. It was Natasha’s own actions, as well as yours, that led to this situation. You knew Wanda was grieving Vision’s loss, and you hoped her baby would bring her comfort and help her have a breakthrough. Natasha hated how you were always so selfless, willing to sacrifice yourself for someone else’s happiness.
“Don’t leave me, Y/n, please. I can make this work, I’ll cherish you, I love you—please—” Natasha sobbed, and you felt her tears sting your tear-stained-cheeks. She knew that you wanted the child to grow up in a healthy family, which means you had to be out of the picture so they wouldn’t grow up feeling that they were a mistake and ruined a relationship that wouldn’t work out anyway. You want them to feel loved, to be surrounded by the people who raised them. You’re leaving because you love Natasha and you consider her child as your own, but she doesn’t want to lose you.
You let go of her face to leave, but Nat’s immediate vice grip around you prevented you from doing so. She got up from the floor and fell onto you, pressing her body against yours as your back collided with the mattress. She prevented you from leaving by tackling you into a hug, straddling your waist as her arms wrapped around your torso. The ex-assassin was stronger than you, so trying to get out of her grip would be futile. You reluctantly wrapped your arms around her neck as tears started to run down your face again, mirroring her. Natasha’s sobs and another wave of apologies filled the room. You let her hold you for the last time because she knew she truly had lost you.

Hi 👋 I'm the one who asked for a part two of the flirt yuu 😄 if u can that is 😁 thank you ans wonderful writer u are 💓
Flirty Bastard! Yuu With The First Years (No Ortho)
Vicewardens will come soon I am just waiting for bastard inspiration. Slight feral yuu in Ace and Epels. Slight angst in Deuces and Jacks if u squint
Gn reader
Ace
"...The worst Prefect ever!" Huh? " Maybe you should go back to kindergarten before attending university!” Oh, that hit a nerve… “Anyways… unlike you, I actually have classes to get to. Good luck, janitor prefect!" The Redhead sticks his tongue out in a teasing manner.
The cocky glint in his eyes deflates when he goes to turn away and Yuu grabs him by the face. The prefect leans in close, squishing his cheeks slightly as it's their turn to look down at him with a half-lidded gaze and cocky grin. Shit, why was his heart pounding.
Beyond the very convincing forced calm they wore, Ace could tell there was absolute detest behind those eyes. “My my…” Their voice was silky smooth and so comforting… “Thank you for teaching me about the seven, Ace. You’re quite the sweetheart!~” A flirty tone escapes their throat, making Ace go red like the heart painted on his eye.
Ace's face falls further as he yanks himself out of Yuu’s hand looking at the stranger as if they’ve lost it. “D-Did you not hear me or something?! I said you're the worst!” Ace sputters flusteredly, shooting his arms up defensively.” “Oh I heard, I just didn’t care… It's just so hard to be upset when the person berating you is quite the looker!”
Yuu shoots a wink. “You know some people are into that…” Yuu's expression drops from teasing to a much more serious and disgusted one, yet their smirk remains. “You’re fucking weird!” Ace pushes the student away, not expecting them to catch his wrist. Fuck, why was that attractive to him?
“Oh, what a shame our first fight is not going to be in the sheets… oh well…” The manic look in their eyes tells everything Ace needed to know as they popped their neck. It was the same look that one eel bastard gave people before he’d beat people up. “This is gonna be fun” Yuu purrs out, laughing soon after as they let go of Ace's wrist to crack their knuckles. They were going to put this brat in their place.
Jack
He, unfortunately, met Yuu during book two. Jack hates it when people act too friendly. And here Yuu was being flirty. “Ooo~ So you’re the strong, silent type I guess. That’s fun.” Seriously, Yuu threw him off at first, but despite their strong personality, he had to admit, they were reliable, and with a good head on their shoulders.
He gets flustered with every remark you make and usually becomes defensive quickly afterward, much to your amusement. In retrospect, he probably shouldn’t have entered the room of someone who loves to tease him so heavily. The wolf just wanted to make sure you and Grim got up in time, and now here he was backed into a corner.
“Well, well, well, a big bad wolf breaking into a poor magicless human's room, how scandalous!” “I didn’t mean to—“ “I could have been naked! Or perhaps were you looking forward to that?” “No! I’m-! Ugh—“ “Oh I am just an innocent little human, in a new world no less! I could never fight back against someone as well-built as you and your wolfishly good looks!”
Jack’s ears are pressed flat against his skull as Yuu sits up, the blanket being the only thing covering them. No way, were they actually— The human corners the wolf in their room, the poor boy so confused and flustered on what to do. The human looks at him and tilts their head.
“Just messing with you!~” Yuu drops the blanket to show a tank top that matches their skin underneath. A shit-eating grin was plastered on their face as Jack's face burned. The human laughs at Jack’s expression as the flop back on the bed.
"Oh, that was so good! Ahaha!” Yuu pretends to wipe away a tear and looks back at Jack. “Though I will say, for you, I am more than willing to show—“ “N-no thanks, I need to go now.”
Epel
Everyone reacted differently to Yuu’s flirtations. Some indulge, and others avoid. It’s the perfect mask that protects the true Yuu from harm, their flirtations merely a shield from everyone around them. A shield that no one could break through, no matter how hard some try. The key word is try, as there is now a purple twink trying to swing at them.
The reason behind Epel’s violent actions wasn't even for the flirtation itself. It was because Yuu called him ‘Cutie’. Cutie of all things! He’s not cute! He’s a strong and badass man, he’ll show them! Surely by putting them in their place, he would never be called cute again.
Throwing a punch, Yuu merely sidestepped. He threw another, then another, then a kick, not a single hit landed on them. That stupid amused look on their face annoyed Epel to no end. Putting his all into a punch, he freezes when he feels Yuu catch his arm.
They pause and examine it for a while, before their pupils dilate and they pull the boy over their head, slamming them into the grass much to Epels surprise. The wind was knocked out of his lungs as Yuu kneels onto his chest. The look on their face was absolutely unhinged and feral as they examined Epel.
“Well don't you look good beneath me! That was so fun~” The smirk on their face grows wider as their eyes dilate again. “Can we play a little more? It would be so fun!~” “Get th’ hell off me you psycho!” “Awe, your no fun.”
The student gets off Epel, yanking him to stand on his two feet. The freshman immediately squares up ready for a fight, just to watch the person from before look unamused, folding their arms behind their head as they slink off.
“Wh?! Hey, get back here!” “Oh? Up for round two already?” That stupid smirk was back. Epel swore he would one day smack it off of them.
Deuce
Sigh… Sometimes he would get flustered at the dumbest one-liner. Other times, you could dedicate an entire romantic, raunchy love poem to him and he would never notice. Because of this, it is not worth it to try and fluster him intentionally.
Instead, small teasing gestures and genuine compliments are what will always get Deuce flustered. The spade ran to his best friend, waving his test. “Yuu! Yuu! Look!” Deuce lit up showing off his score. 81/100. His first B in Trein’s class.
“I did it! I did it! I-I mean, we did it. If it wasn’t for your tutoring, I would have never passed, so um, thank you, Yuu-Senpai! Is there any way I can repay you at all?” Deuce's smile could light up the whole room, his happiness was so infectious that even Yuu began to let a genuine smile grace their features.
“The only thing I need of you is to keep that beautiful smile of yours, Spade.“ “H-huh?!” The ex-delinquent face became pink, bewildered blue eyes staring into Yuu's. “Pfft, just messin with ya, duh! … But seriously though, you don't owe me anything. Seeing my friends happy is enough…”
Deuce’s face was still a bit pink as he hid his face behind his sleeve, taking a deep breath to soothe himself. At that moment with his soft, flustered expression did Yuu start to go off into the deep end. If only they weren’t such a flirt, maybe they could call Deuce theirs.
Sebek
“ENOUGH WITH YOUR SHAMELESS FLIRTATIONS HUMAN! I WILL NOT BE DISTRACTED FROM MY DUTY OF PROTECTING MALLEUS BECAUSE OF YOU!” Yuu held back a snort. Sebek was so fun to rile up.
The croco-fae stands sternly with more of a stick up his ass than ever. “Aw, what will it take for me to be your new priority, hmm?~” Sebek looks offended at the human in front of him, his nose wrinkling in disgust. “A mere human like you will never be more important than Waka-Sama!” A smirk rises to his face. “You wish you could even have half of his glory!”
"Sooo… you're into goths is what I am hearing?” Sebek's face dropped. “Pardon?” “You’re into goths then?” “I am NOT ‘into goths’ as you say!” Sebek was fuming.
“Oh okay, so you're just into Malleus, got it! Good luck asking him out then!” “YOU LOWLY HUMAN!!!” Yuu was then yelled at for 3 hours.
Yuuken
"Don’t” Your roommate said to you. “I wasn’t even going to do anything!” Yuuken raised a brow at Yuu, stoic expression barely changing. “You were going to flirt with me, weren't you?” The house warden gave a disappointed and half-hearted glare to the Vice.
“I wasn’t, I swear!” “…” “Okay fine! But you are attractive though, I mean can you blame me?!” Yuuken just sighs, pulling out his kendo stick for practice later that day. “If you feel like ogling, you might as well join me.”
Yuuken hands Yuu a spare stick. “Well, are you joining or not?” Flirting does not work on the stoic himbo who’s too overworked for his own good.

idiots - min yoongi x reader
Tumblr media
genre/tags: the most disgusting of fluff, seriously, slight hint of angst but really, mostly just fluff; friends to lovers, reader has never been in a relationship, first time kiss, reader has a crush on yoongi, lots of awkwardness
pairing: min yoongi/reader
word count: 2,8k
you can also read it on AO3
a/n: okay so, I had a VERY long break from writing and this is the first thing I actually finished since then so it’s definitely not the best. And definitely cliché lol. (It was literally supposed to be a really short drabble to get me out of the writer’s block but oh well, somehow it became almost 3 words - I blame yoongi for this honestly, lately he just looks to good not to write stories about him). So yeah, hope you enjoy 😅
Tumblr media
“So you’re telling me that you’ve literally never even kissed anyone?” he asked, repositioning himself on the sofa, turning his face into your direction, a slightly shocked expression decorating his features.
“Hey, it’s not like it’s my fault! And I did not tell you this, just so you could judge me, you promised you wouldn’t do that!” you answered his question, a mix of anger and embarrassment visible on your face as you avoided his gaze.
You certainly didn’t expect your evening to take this turn. It started pretty innocently, just as many other evenings before that. You two would hang out, order a takeaway and pretend to watch a movie, when in fact, you always ended up talking about everything that has happened in your lives since your last meeting, totally not paying attention to what was happening on the screen. These evenings became some sort of little tradition for either of you, as well as an important part of your friendship. You especially enjoyed them, because Yoongi, despite his sarcastic and grumpy demeanour, was the best friends you’ve ever had. Many would say that it’s a bit of an overstatement, considering your friendship haven’t lasted very long, but you didn’t remember the last time you’ve felt that comfortable with someone.
You trusted him with all your problems… well, almost all of them. There was only one issue, that you absolutely couldn’t tell him.
Because, of course, you had to be this one cliché girl who fell in love with her best friend. But honestly, who wouldn’t? It’s not even the fact that he was incredibly attractive (which seriously,  he was so handsome it was a bit unfair), but the way he talked, the kind of advice he gave you or even the kind of shitty jokes he would say to make you laugh… All of it just came together to create this imperfect man, who couldn’t be more perfect in your eyes.
So when during your usual shit-talking session, which always had place at your hangouts, came up the topic of relationships, you started to feel a little uneasy. I mean, you were eager to talk about other people, but you couldn’t help to feel anxious as the topic started to move to you.
When Yoongi asked you about your previous relationships, you weren’t quite sure what to answer. You’ve never experienced being in one, not to even mention the simple things such as holding hands or kissing. Not that it was something to be ashamed of. However, it wasn’t exactly the thing that would put you in a flattering light in front of your crush.
“I am not judging!”, he protested immediately, “I’m sorry, it’s just a bit shocking. I don’t mean to make you feel bad, but like… how?” Yoongi scooted a bit closer to you, visibly curious and waiting for you to continue.
“I don’t know how. It just never happened”, you tried your best to appear confident, despite the uncomfortable subject and unpleasant sting in your heart, “I guess, people did not find me interesting enough to want to go out with me.”
You attempted to be cool about it and laugh it off, but it came off rather pathetic, especially when the only place you could look was your hands, which you were fidgeting with. So much for your confidence.
“Okay, that’s just bullshit”, you heard Yoongi say, as you finally glanced meekly at him. “Don’t say such things about yourself. Not being in a relationship does not set your value as a person. And besides,” he smirked at you, and added in an ironic tone, “I wouldn’t hang out with you if you weren’t interesting, like, come on, I have standards.”
“Wow, I am honoured then. I didn’t realize it’s such a privilege to hang out with you.” You matched his ironic answer, glad to ease the tension between you and feeling comforted by his words.
“Ah yes, you see, I usually hand people a quick questionnaire to fill before I talk to them. You know, just to see if they are worth my time.” he played along, trying to hide the smile which started to grow wider on his face. But then, after a second, he turned serious again. “I’m really sorry I asked this question. I feel like I forced you to share something you’re not comfortable with.”
“No, it’s okay. Just a little embarrassing.”, you chuckled lightly. Yoongi looked at you, puzzled, waiting for your next words. “You know, most people my age are in committed relationships, or at least they had been in one, and me? I’ve never even been on a single date, let alone kissed somebody. I don’t even know how to kiss, it would be so awkward.” You said, half jokingly, half seriously.
There was a moment of silence, only faint sounds of Ten Inch Hero could be heard in the background, the movie itself long forgotten by both of you. You looked at Yoongi, who was sitting on the opposite side of the couch. He seemed deep in thought, you swear you could see the cogs turning in his head.
Just when the atmosphere was starting to get a little uneasy, he finally spoke.
“I could teach you.”
“What?” you replied, confused.
“I could teach you how to kiss. I mean, it’s not rocket science,” he shrugged but avoided eye contact. “You know, just to get you comfortable with it, so it’d be easier when you actually meet someone.”
You sat there, weighting your options. The idea of kissing your crush was tempting. You had one hundred percent certainty that he wouldn’t judge you, and what’s more important, you were given a perfect opportunity to share this moment with someone you actually liked a lot. Although, as great as it sounded, you knew that it was a “no strings attached, one-time thing” kind of  deal. So you definitely would be screwed for the rest of your relationships, having to try acting as if nothing happened.
“You know, forget it,” he started to speak again, less confidently now, scratching the back of his neck. “It’s just something that popped into my mind, I don’t want you to feel pressured  to- “.
“No, I want to do it.” You quickly interrupted Yoongi, not knowing whether to mentally congratulate or curse yourself.
“Wait, really?” you were met with his shocked expression.
“Well, don’t act so surprised, it was your idea, after all,” you crossed your shoulders, slightly pouting.
“No, of course! Let’s do it, then,” he answered, and although he tried to appear unbothered, you could swear his lips twitched in a shadow of a smile.
Both of you tried to move a little but were hesitant to get closer, so instead of actually closing the distance between yourselves, you just awkwardly twitched in place. Yoongi chuckled at your failed attempt and decided to take matter into his own hands.
He stood up and sat back down on the couch, but this time much closer, in a way you were only a few centimetres apart. Looking at his face from such close distance filled you with a mix of awe and nervous excitement. His delicate, almost doll-like features looked close to magical in soft, warm light of the living room lamp. His eyes sparkling, looking at you with emotions that made you melt, even though you couldn’t quite put a finger on what they were. And his hair, soft and shiny, (now slightly longer than usual, but you couldn’t complain because it looked gorgeous) practically inviting you to slide your fingers through it. You should have realized you were staring at him for way too long, but you were brought back to reality only after Yoongi called your name.
“Hey, y/n! What? What are you looking at?” he asked, grinning. You felt your cheeks heat up.
“Sorry, just lost in thought.” You quickly answered, trying to make it look as if you were just anxious, and definitely not checking out your handsome best friend.
“You don’t have to be nervous about it, it’s just me,” he tried to reassure you. “And you can still back out, you know that, right? I won’t be offended.”
You looked at him fondly, he was always so considerate of you, it was impossible not to feel at ease in his company.
“Well, maybe a little bit,” he added, making the atmosphere lighten again while it filled with your laughter. “I mean, look at me. You should feel lucky, most people would kill to be in your place right now. It’s not something I offer every day.”
“I sure hope so,” you responded, shaking your head and smiling, “God, you’re impossible, you know that?”
“It’s all part of my charm, sweetheart.” A cocky smile appeared on his face as he said the pet name, making your heart skip a bit at the sound of it coming from his lips. “Okay, are you ready?”
You nodded your head, despite being far from said thing.
You watched as his hand travelled to your face, taking a loose strand of your hair and putting it behind your ear. As his face was gradually getting closer to yours, his long fingers started gently grazing your jaw line. His touch was so light, so barely there, it tickled, and you couldn’t help but giggle and pull back.
“Sorry, I’m just very ticklish, “ you explained yourself, laughing as his face turned to amused disbelief.
“Yeah, I noticed,” he said while poking your sides, earning another laugh outburst from you.
Yoongi waited a moment for you to calm down and tried again, this time placing his hand delicately on your cheek as he closed the distance between both of you. Before you could know, his soft lips were on yours in a gentle, feather-like kiss. He pulled back only for a little moment to study your expression, and then quickly came back to kissing you, this time more confidently, while putting his other hand on your waist.
After a while, he gently licked your lip, asking for permission to take the next step and slip his tongue to pleasantly slide over yours . It took you a few seconds to match his movements, but despite these few moments of awkwardness, it felt so good.
He tasted sweet with a hint of bitterness, like the dark chocolate you were eating before. The mixture of the taste, the smell of his perfume, the feeling of his hands on your body and the softness of his lips was intoxicating and made you longing for more. And even though, you felt like you were on cloud nine, at the same time, the mere thought of not being able to do it every day made your heart break a little.
You pulled away, short of breath and a little dizzy, keeping your eyes closed as you felt his hand move from your waist to cup your other cheek and rest his forehead on yours.
“So, how was it?” you asked, moving back just to look at him, struggling to remain eye contact. He stirred in his seat and cleared his throat, quickly taking his hands away from your face, suddenly looking disconcerted now, under your gaze.
“Eh, you… you actually did well. You’re- umm, you’re a natural, I think,” he stuttered, a slight pink tint covering his pale cheeks. Unexpectedly, he stood up and looked around, putting his hand in the back pocket of his jeans. “You know, I think I should get going. I have work tomorrow and have to wake up early.”
“Oh… Okay, if you want to,” you said, couldn’t help but feel a little hurt and disappointed. Not that you were counting on something more, but you surely didn’t expect to be greeted by this sudden cold behaviour, especially after you thought it was all going so well.
You watched as he collected his stuff from the table in a hurry and walked towards the front door. You joined him, waiting for him to put his shoes on.
“Listen, if I did something wrong, please tell-” you started but was quickly interrupted by Yoongi’s response.
“No, you have nothing to apologize for.”
You didn’t know what else to say, so you just settled for the safest option, despite it being far from ideal.
“Text me when you get home, okay?”
“Yeah”, he murmured, nodding his head slightly while opening the door and stepping outside.
The door closed with a quiet click, and you sighed, releasing breath you didn’t even realize you were holding. You leaned on the wall next to you, trying to make sense of this whole situation. The entire kissing idea was obviously a mistake, and you wanted to regret it, but your lips still tingled at the memory of his actions. How can something feel so right, when it clearly wasn’t supposed to happen?
You couldn’t even blame it on alcohol or anything like that, both of you were stone-cold sober. You also couldn’t bring yourself to blame Yoongi, after all, it was you who agreed to the offer. Even though you wanted to be mad at him, especially after he stormed off your apartment so abruptly.
Anxiety flooded your mind. You needed to talk to him, maybe try to convince him to forget this evening and pretend like nothing happened. You simply couldn’t lose him, even if it meant hiding your true feelings. Not the healthiest way, you know it, but in the heat of the moment it seemed like your only option.
You didn’t know for you long you were standing in the hallway but just when you were about to come back to the living room and start cleaning up after your disaster of an evening, you heard faint knocking coming from the door. Cautiously, you approached the door and looked through the peephole, just to see Yoongi standing in front of it, distress visible on his face. You hesitated for a second, but decided to open the door and confront him.
“What are you doing here? I thought you went home.”
“Yeah, I wanted to but,” he sucked in some air, his hand fiddling with a bracelet on his other wrist, “I just couldn’t leave before I apologized. You know I’m terrible at expressing my feelings, and this is pathetic excuse but instead of actually telling you what I felt, I thought it would be better to just run away,” you watched as he laughed dryly, still standing on the doorstep. “I basically acted like a jerk.”
“I’m not going to lie, you did just a little bit.” You admitted.
“It was not okay, especially when I knew how you felt about all this and how important it was to you. I’m so sorry. But also, I came here because you deserve to know the reason why I just ditched you like that.”
He looked like he was fighting with his own thoughts, opening his mouth and closing it all over again a few times. He rubbed his face with his hands, letting out a shaky breath while his lips curved in a helpless smile.
“Shit, why is it so hard to say… Okay, at this point our friendship is pretty much ruined, so fuck it.” He paused for a moment and then mumbled something under his nose. You looked at him, incredibly confused because you did not understand a single word. Yoongi looked defeated, so he repeated the words this time loud and clear.
“I like you. And not as a friend. I wanted to tell you countless times, but every moment seemed wrong and, well… I’m a horrible coward, I just couldn’t bring myself to tell you. And I thought I would be satisfied with being just friends, but today… I honestly don’t know what I was thinking. I saw a chance and I took it, but it was a mistake and- what?”
His rambling was interrupted by you, laughing in disbelief.
“Are you kidding me, Min Yoongi?” you looked at him as he stood there, visibly disoriented.
“No! I would never joke about something like that, and definitely not to you, what on earth are you thinking?”
“You are such an idiot.”
“Well, fuck you too.” He was about to say something in his defence, crossing his arms, but his words were cut off by your hand grabbing a handful of his sweatshirt and your lips connecting in a sweet kiss.
“Why- Wha… What did you just do?”
“I kissed you,” your lips formed into a thin line, trying to hide the smile that was forming on your face. “Because I like you too. I liked you for a long time, but I just didn’t know how to tell you.”
His hands grabbed your waist and bringing your body closer to his.
“And you said I’m an idiot. I can’t believe we were both too scared to say anything. I think we’re perfect for each other, we’re both unbelievably stupid.” He laughed, his gummy smile showing. “Can I come in? I promise, I won’t run away this time.”

Orion do you have tips on how to write Venti 🙏 I'd be ever so grateful to learn
[Warning: Profanity ahead...and a really long read] Hii, you're in for a long ramble LOL
So, first things first, I'm probably not the best Venti writer out there. No, not even probably, I'm not. I try to write as closely as possible to canon however I know that's difficult as my own headcanons and perception of Venti will show themselves in my writing. And I genuinely think that there are absolutely better Venti writer's out there to ask.
(you can skip to around "Honestly this is..." to skip a whole lot of my rambling because genuinely instead of giving tips I just rambled. No matter how I try to think of it, you'll end up with the entire ramble no matter what :skull:)
Venti is a complex character, like genuinely a very complex character. People like dumbing him down to this silly little guy that's a drunkard and I get real annoyed when that's all people see him as. Venti is much more than the "carefree persona" he puts on. There's so much depth to his character.
Another thing to take note of, when I write for Venti, I'm usually writing him for comfort as he's a comfort character of mine. Most of my works are more focused on the reader than Venti, but the very few times I've written solely for Venti, I wrote angst with him. And there I honestly just went into the zone so how I write him is beyond me.
If I'd have to give tips on how to write him, it would be to make him more than just some silly little guy that's there for comedic relief. If you think about it Venti is the most mysterious archon we've met so far. He speaks in riddles when he knows he can't give an outright answer because that defeats the whole point of figuring it all out on your own.
He's a mischievous character. From hiding the broken Holy Lyre of der Himmel that he immediately made a break for after saying his little trick won't last forever to forging Morax's signature back when the aristocracy rules Mondstadt in order to help free Mondstadt once more. Another thing people tend to forget in the fandom is that Venti is actually really intelligent, which again isn't recognized under his "he's just a silly little guy" thing the fandom has going on for him.
Okay, I'm getting off track, this is more turning into me ranting about the fandom and being way to passionate about him :skull:
How I try to write him is to show depth to his character. I learn something new about his character every day. Like genuinely. If it wasn't for the venti nation over on twitter who are just as passionate about him as I am, I wouldn't have known half the shit I do now.
I think reading his character story and the Mondstadt lore (like the skyward weapons lore) really helped me find some depth into his character as not only the infamous bard of Mondstadt but also the god of Freedom and Hope. Maybe looking at the actual demon Barbatos would give some ideas on him as well.
Writing him is honestly a hassle, because you need to know when he'd make a riddle or a rhyme off the top of his head and when he'd talk to you like a normal person. Even in his voicelines, as far as I can remember, he doesn't rhyme often. Which made me realize that Kazuha really does talk by spitting out flowers from his mouth because I swear it's easier to write for Venti than for Kazuha who speaks in flowers :sob:
Another thing that helped me understand him a little better is simply looking up his fandom wiki page and seeing how they describe him. The first time I saw what stood there, I was like, "oh...that actually makes sense." (in reference to him hiding a lonely soul specifcally.)
When I do write him, I try to still keep his characteristic traits like being mischievous, carefree, wise, and lonely. Like I can absolutely imagine him stealing some apples from Dawn Winery and to be cheeky, he'd even sit atop the winery eating at the apples. But I keep in mind how he'd sometimes just sit alone and think. Like in his story quest, where at the end he sits on the hands of the Barbatos statue after telling us the story of the nameless bard and how he became the god of freedom. How he grieves for a friend/the friends he had lost. You can't tell me that by the end of his story quest you didn't feel the loneliness that basically oozes off of him.
I try to creep in that old timer feeling too because let's be real, he's a god, he's over thousands of years old, he has experience, ya get me? He'd have that hint of old soul vibes. And also let's not forget webtoon Venti where he was loud and proud about his songs (or rhymes or whatever was exactly said there) being twice as good as that of Barbatos himself (ironic because he literally is Barbatos). Like he is proud of being the best bard in Mondstadt.
ALSO Venti is super observant, like I will die on this fucking hill. He would know when something's up.
A big thing that I want to incorporate into my writing if I write him and it needs this, is that it will always feel like he's hiding something from you. Because it was recently brought to my attention that he doesn't always tell the truth or he talks in such a roundabout way that it diverts your attention to something else.
That and the fact that he is literally trying to hide just how powerful he truly is. He doesn't like drawing attention to himself, especially if it outs his true identity. Fucking "the weakest archon of the Seven" my ass. Like did you know that before people use a glider that they literally need to say a prayer to Barbatos to allow them to glide? I didn't either until a recent read up on a hyperfocus on Mondstadt fashion and someone on reddit said that people offer prayers to Barbatos every time they glide. If his power as an archon is based on how many people believe in him, than fuck bro you're straight up lying if the entirety of Teyvat is literally praying every time they use a glider. Like my dude is literally such a liar just to conceal his tracks and diverts attention away from himself.
Also whether or not that reddit user is correct on the prayer thing, I have no clue. I might be AR 59 but I am so behind on actual quests and shit that I just don't know, so how credible or true that is, I'm not sure. You can only trust any of my words when it comes to the archon quest lore :skull:
Honestly this is just turning into a ramble of a lifetime. I apologize sefhfef Overall, I'm not exactly sure how I write Venti or if I write him correctly. When I write there is (sometimes) no thoughts behind my eyes, just aggressive typing while I listen to music and I just pray that I write him accurately. Venti is such a complex character that it's hard to simply just...give tips because there's so much about his character that I could talk about.
I know for a fact that I try to convey not only his playful demeanor, but also his serious and caring nature. Like please, he isn't always cheerful or playful and he knows when to be serious and take things seriously.
And I try to incorporate that old timer feeling he would absolutely have because he is literally thousands of years old. (Adding this here as well for in case you did skip the whole ramble)
I can ramble about his character for days, probably, and I'd still never get to how I write him.
What I can say is to just listen to his voicelines, read his character story and go off memory of how you perceive him and know of him. Listen to other characters voicelines about him. Get to know him in a sense through those.
If you're unsure of whether you're writing him as accurately as possible (or simply just right), ask a Venti simp/fan to beta read for you. That's what I'm doing with my Eula series, I asked a friend if she could help me write Eula more accurately and she referred me to another friend of hers that loves Eula and that friend agreed to helping me in understanding Eula as not only a character but to also portray her as accurately as possible.
If you have no excessive Venti simps to turn to *tucks hair behind ear* Hit me up and I'll happily help you out by once again rambling about him <3

Tumblr media
It should be playful splashes of water, and half-melted popsicles to beat the heat. Water balloon fight filled days, and picnics in the park. Stargazing in the cool of the night, and tired heads resting on shoulders. Where sweets and junk food replace heavy textbooks and tossed aside essays.
Yet, it’s 4 seconds in, and 4 seconds out. It’s, “5 things you can see, 4 you can touch…” It’s sleepless nights filled with loneliness and anxiety. It’s dried-out tears on your cheeks as you stare at the dark of your wall. You can’t close your eyes without the intrusion of no-good-thoughts. You can’t keep them open without feeling like your lungs are closing in on themselves. You’re too scared to sleep, dreading having to battle through another, repetitive and emotionally-exhausting day. You just want it to stop.
‘Splash some water on your face to ground yourself’ your mom had told you. But as soon as you open your eyes, patting away leftover droplets, your gaze drifts over to the bathtub. A bucket of water, filled to the brim. You’re tired, everything is too much and you just need a break. The cold prickles against your fingertips, gliding smoothly as you draw patterns. Plugging your nose, you dip your head in; coming back up with a sense of refreshed-ness. Albeit, short-lived, but refreshing none-the-less. You find yourself chasing that feeling.
A soft stream of water…
Plop
Plip
Plop
Plip
You gasp, running to turn off the sink faucet. The stopper had somehow broken, and plugged up the sink. Fortunately, only a small puddle had formed during your reverie. God, you’d be dead meat if your mom found out you’d accidentally flooded the bathroom at 2am. After getting a rug to clean up your mess, you take a look at the mirror. Your swollen eyes had calmed down after being soaked with ice-cold water. You had as well.
Not ready to go back to the dark confines of your bedroom, you sat down on the closed toilet seat. Only now, do you realize what you were thinking about whilst zoned out. And, god, did it scare you. Your breathing got more ragged, shallow, and all your senses were heightened. You were home alone.
Alone.
Again.
The vent was getting too loud, and the lights too bright. The bathroom mat beneath you more spiky than soft. Knives were running through your heart. Tears were threatening to fall, and you wanted to crawl out of your skin. Everything was getting so uncomfortable. You just wanted to shed like a snake and float away into the night; carried by the wind to faraway places. You needed something to ground you. Tell you that you’re okay. And by instinct, your feet led you to the kitchen phone. Dialing the oh-so-familiar digits that you knew by heart. You fidgeted with the phone cord, focusing on the swirly loops going through your fingers.
Doooot, doooot.
Doooot, doooot.
Click
A faint ruffle, then a sleep-dowsed voice spoke, “Hello…?”
You waited a few seconds to respond, processing the fact that Steve actually answered. You didn’t expect anyone to pick up at this time. Especially not him. A small whisper followed, meek and lined with unspoken apologies, “Hi.” “Y/n? Shit- Are… are you okay?” Steve could hear the sadness in your voice, the emptiness and longing for comfort. His heart broke a little at the thought of you going through this again. He knows about the many sleepless nights you go through, mind racing with terrible thoughts, “Wait, I- no- That was a stupid question, do you-” You panicked. Feeling bothersome because you had awoken Steve from his slumber; guilty knowing how much he needs it. “Uhm- I… Can you…” A deep breath in, “nevermind, I’m-sorry-I-woke-you-up-bye.” You spurt out quickly, putting the phone back without waiting for an answer and running back up the stairs.
Back to your blanket pile of pathetic-ness. Because that’s what you are, right? Just a pile of pathetic-ness who always bothers those around them with their problems.
He probably hates you now. Called him up at 3am for nothing? You’re so needy. He can probably tell that you’re fucking obsessed with him. Your friendship will probably go downhill from here. And that's all your fault.             You stuffed your face into your pillow. Just wanting the night to end. The ticking from your clock is the only thing that can be heard, besides your breathing and the occasional night breeze. You sigh, and focus on the ticking sound to push any negative thoughts away. Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Ti– Plink!
… Plink!
Plink! You sprang up from your bed. That isn’t your clock ticking anymore. And it’s coming from the window. Cautiously, you grab the closest solid object near you, ready to chuck at whatever’s outside the glass. You swish your curtains aside and… Steve? Your brows furrow as you take him in; clad in plaid pajama pants and a gray pullover, backpack in his hand, pebbles in the other. He sighs in relief when your figure appears in the window. As soon as you hung up on him, he sprinted to his car, grabbing a few things along the way. He knew you were having another bad night, and it stung his heart—of which you hold—remembering how quiet and shaky your voice sounded. He yells as loud as he can at 3am, “Y/n! Can I come up?” Shock and confusion makes up your expression, blinking a few times before nodding and opening your window. Steve being Steve, he climbs up with ease, kicking off his shoes before engulfing you in a big, bear hug. Your face trembles, your emotions coming back to you all at once. He pulls back, grabbing his backpack and bringing out his maroon sweater to put on you. Oh, that sweater.
He knows how much you love it, despite actively denying it. Steve pulls you back into him, your head buried in his shoulder and you cry, “Shh, sweetheart. Let it all out, you’re not alone anymore… I’m here,” he mumbles into your hair, stroking your head comfortingly. His overwhelming affection made you cry even more, which made him hug you tighter.
A few minutes pass, and you’ve moved to your bed. Steve tidied your room up, taking dirty dishes downstairs, and swiftly coming back up with a glass of water, “Drink.”
When you’re done he places it on your bedside table, and cups your face in his hands, analyzing it, “What’s wrong? Or are you not ready to talk about it? I mean, that’s totally okay, we can just lay in bed or whatever.” You give him an appreciative, tight-lipped smile, and gesture to him to lay beside you. Your voice comes out a bit raspy as you thank him, “Steve… I don’t know how to explain to you how grateful I am for you to be such an amazing…” Sniff, “friend… Uhm– I don’t know what I’d do without you, honest.”
Steve smiles, and pulls you in for another hug; your head on his chest. He hopes you can’t hear how fast his heart is beating, and you hope he can’t feel yours, “‘Course poppet. Anything for you.” Your heart skips a beat at the innocent confession, he meant that in a platonic way—and you’re just emotionally vulnerable, right now… Right…? You push your feelings aside, which are probably deceiving you. You look up at him, but he’s already looking at you. You think you can see blush rise to his cheeks as he looks away embarrassed, you tease, “Like the view, Harrington?” Unconsciously, he squirms under your gaze and rolls his eyes, “Aren’t you supposed to be, like, sad right now?” Playfully, you sit up with a ‘humph’, and turn away. You steal the whole blanket from him, “Okay,” before inhaling and letting out a cry reminiscent of a toddler’s. “Literally shut up.” Steve laughed, grabbing you by your waist and tickling you. You jump from his touch, but he pulls you back just as fast. His fingers press harder, and it makes you laugh even louder. Giggles and snickers turned your once sorrowful room into a place of pure joy. No longer was it filled with a sense of loneliness, but a fuller, happier feeling of love. Silly, teenage love.
As you both calm down, you feel warmth rise to your cheeks. Steve is redder than a tomato below you, at that you let out a small giggle. “What?” he asks, “Shit– my hair’s messed up isn’t it?” But that makes you laugh even more, which makes him laugh even more. You collapse into his chest, tired from all the emotions you’ve gone through tonight.
A beat or two passes, the both of you enjoying each other’s presence in silence. It was never awkward when things died down after some banter. Your eyes grow heavy, and you nuzzle closer to Steve’s neck. Leaving soft butterfly kisses that have him growing warmer underneath you, “Thank you Steve. M’grateful to have someone like you…” You brush your lips against his skin; too short to be considered an actual kiss, but lingers long enough to cross the platonic-romantic border. As you fall into your body’s pleas for slumber, a confession of romance tumbles out. Quick, and casual; as if it's said on the regular, which it isn’t. At that, you both freeze. Steve processes your words in his head, “You… what?” You’re quick to put up your defenses, not willing to be hurt again tonight by your own, reckless actions, “Okay, I– Uhm-well-I… I meant that platonically…?” your voice goes up at the end, making you cringe internally at how fake that sounded, “Shit– sorry, it’s just that-”
Quick to interrupt, a confession of his own slips out, “I-love-you-too.” And Steve can see the wave of relief immediately sweeping away your tensed shoulders. You smile up at him, and kiss the corner of his mouth. As much as he tries to fight it, a huge smile appears on his face. Full of genuine elation and adoration. Steve pulls you closer, boops your nose with his, and pecks your lips.
Pulling away, he tsks, “Don’ be a coward, poppet.” Which is immediately met with a punch to his arm, and a peck back.
You throw your arm over his chest, and he pulls the blanket up. Signs of day tickle the sky; indigo, berry blues, a touch of vermillion, finished with a faint sprinkle of stars. Your clock reads 4 AM, but you don’t care. You aren’t going to wake up alone. And you certainly won’t be getting through each day by yourself.
Gone are the constant grounding exercises, and puffy, red eyes; sleepless nights, and negative self-lies. They’re replaced with love-filled hugs, and endless tickles. Feeling loved on bad days, and tissue-caught sniffles. It’s late diner dates, and shared milkshakes. Subtle gazes, and trips to the lake.
It’s finally summer.

Despair pt. 1
Imagine the MC is acting out of their element around the Felix. Hear me out, the stress is real and the burden on their shoulders is heavy but they try to smile. Until they can't anymore. And of course, who blames them but themselves despite the fact felix is attempting to reconnect with them and yet it just makes them push everyone including him away. Yes. I'm going there with the angst. Grab your tissues. MC being in a spiral of despair they created that toxic traits (that they never had before or suppressed) start to pour out only to hurt their spouse. (I'll do the other LI later on)
Felix Escellun
He notices at first glance. It's MC. Who knows them better than him...right? He doesn't say anything on a whim he can't find the words to say. So, he watches at first.
Dwelling on their own work only to sigh heavily in one instance and to tap the quill on the desk with consistency.
When they sleep or take a nap the insomnia never fades or the twisting and turning on the comforter leaves them beaten. Nightmares are no treat either for the matter they give them dread and cause them to suffocate until finally to wake in a weak state.
Occasionally there are times they tend to cuss under their breath. Other times their pitch rises in their voice almost yelling at someone or him. When he gets agitated with the conversation going nowhere it bothers him when MC walks off dismissing the entire thing.
Slamming doors so much that Stella steers clear along with the others as well.
What really hits him hard is that they've stopped trying to make an effort to look at him...at all. It breaks his heart and leaves him bewildered of how they got to this point. And how does he fix this!? It's all to much to process altogether.
One day he pulls mc aside into a private room to confront them. "What is it you need me to do?" 'What?' They roll their eyes and turn away with a sigh. "This needs to stop." He walks in front of them with a pinched expression. "Please, what are you-" "See what I mean the things your doing right now. That. It needs to stop at this moment."
Biting their lip with a huff mc looks to him with a glare. "Oh, I need to stop, I-I...please I don't need this."
They try to leave but he gets in their path. "Did I do something to you? Is it stress from the nightmares? MC, you cannot just get up and walk away every time!" 'Like your any better' "I never said that" 'You didn't have too!!' He runs a hand down his face, irritated.
"What are we doing?" 'I don't know what your doing? Other than wasting my time when I need to get back to work.' They pace the room. "Work can wait!! He gestures to the both of them. "We've waited enough. What is it, MC? What's wrong that you have to act out?"
Their arms uncross with a sneer. 'Act out?! Like I'm a child! Some animal!!' They start to rise. "Lower your voice. Not what I implied. You know better." 'Do I now? Well, then if I knew better I say we're done here, m'kay.' "No!" Felix surges forward blocking their path to leave them both startled at his tone.
"Do you see me? I'm here, MC! For us! For you. How can I understand you when you want to walk out or stop talking to me?" He grabs their hands rubbing his thumbs over their knuckles in a gentle manner.
"Let me be your person. If not me, then I don't know what else to do." Their eyes water a bit as they look to felix. In a shallow breath they pull away, 'Then just go.' "Is that what you want?"
His eyes glaze over as he waits for their answer. 'Yes.'
I know this is short and rushed. Still working on the prologue. Thanks for being patient. Might edit this later. My inspiration for this little bit came from Grey's Anatomy. Don't you just love how every great couple succumbed to fall apart by the hands of the writers trying to figure out how to write characters (actors/actresses) out or by death.

Hey uhh sorry to bother you again but can you do motherly MC again mmbut she dies?
Also love your work your an amazing writer!♥️
janskdndis ur gonna kill me!! oh and you're never a bother, i love seeing people in my asks no matter who they are. and thank you!! i appreciate it!! :)) the angst is incoming haha watch out. also sorry this took so long ive been trying to finish school and now im done!! yeahh!! aight enjoy babs thank you <3
motherly! mc, dearly departed from this world. warning: kinda fucking sad haha
sure, the demons, angels and solomon had all been alive for thousands of years.
they'd experienced sadness.
the fall, the death of lilith, day-to-day sadness, but nothing hit quite like this.
lucifer handles your death with the most honour.
he stands over your casket, stood tall, forlorn, fixing the rich wood with a crestfallen expression.
only when it's time to lower your casket into the ground does he finally break, crumble, sink to the ground and just sob.
there's nothing he can do but cry as his favourite human says goodbye one final time.
collecting himself, he'd lead the throwing of the flowers onto your casket and wouldn't dare take his eyes off of it until it was no longer visible.
it breaks him. he worked hard to achieve happiness again, after the fall, after lilith, and you gave that to him.
and now, you were gone.
the universe truly was cruel.
mammon would be beside himself. he might go a little mad. pretending that you're still with them, that you're still by his side.
but when he sees that casket, he knows it's all a lie.
for once he doesn't put a front up. he just sniffles and whimpers through the whole ceremony, the first to comfort lucifer when he crumbles.
life ain't worth living with MC, he tells himself, but for the sake of his brothers he carries on.
your possessions are the most valuable thing he owns. after your death, there's not a piece of grimm more valuable than something that had belonged to you.
he guards your memory more diligently than Cerberus guards the catacombs, and when the day comes that he joins you, he'll only hope you accept him with open arms.
levi never was good with the prospect of death.
lilith's death changed him, truly. and your death changed him again.
he didn't care for games much. he could scarcely recall anime titles. he even forgot to feed Henry 2.0 once.
he spends most of his days now at sea, with hell's navy. he devotes himself to militarism, trying to distract himself from remembering the way you used to make him get enough sleep, or encourage him to finish one more level.
at times, he can't forget.
he sits in his bathtub till the late hours of the morning, even though it's something you disliked. just crying, silent tears.
he tries to cope, but it's hard. death really does change people.
satan is consumed by his books.
he becomes scarily interested in necromancy and reanimation. he can't find anything, though, so he turns to reincarnation. looking through the record of every soul to enter heaven or hell, he wants to find you.
it's actually easier for him to accept your death than anyone else. he was probably the only one who remembered your mortality, and appreciated it.
just as he appreciated the way you cleared his desk for him, procuring cutesy bookmarks to save his page when he fell asleep with a tome.
during long, quiet nights, he sits down with a special book- an autobiography he had inked especially for you.
a few tears may be shed as he thinks back fondly, focusing on the good as opposed to dwelling on the bad.
he'll find your soul eventually, he knows he will. but for now, he's content to just remember you in peace.
it's what you would have wanted.
asmo becomes a hollow shell of what he once was. you were the life of his party, and now you were gone!
he's enraged mostly, how could you leave him?? after all you did together?! you'd just fucking leave him alone! was he too ugly? he could change! he'll change but please please please just come back, please!!
he doesn't care who sees. his cries are loud, ugly, salty tears and snot ruining his silken sheets as he wails.
breathing carefully, the way you taught him to, he finally calms down.
he'll do things the way you showed him- strip the bed, put the linen in the wash. wash your face, nothing too harsh and get a nice drink. paint your nails, wear a facemask, do something nice that you enjoy.
he can't be perfect when his other half is gone. sure, he's got solomon, but it's not the same. you were different. you were you.
beel ignores his sin. he's not hungry anymore. he doesn't want the food he's given, though his stomach growls, just the thought of eating food without you makes him want to throw up.
he feels as though he's failed- despite everyone reassuring him otherwise - he couldn't protect you.
what was he, if not a protector? nothing. he felt small.
he really lost himself, but eventually, under the guise of 'its what MC would have wanted you to do.' he gets his appetite back.
he finds solace in making your favourite foods, and leaving them at your grave. hopefully one day you can eat them together again. that'd be nice.
belphie, unlike beel, amplifies his sin. he turns to it, knowing that he can see you in his dreams.
it's rare for him to be anything other than comatose, only occasionally waking up to eat and wash. he knows you would have expected better from him, but he also hopes that you'd understand.
he needs this, just like he needs you. sometimes he wonders if he should join you, but he knows that that's not the correct answer.
so for now, he'll sleep, and cry happy tears as he sees you on the astral plane, and cry sad tears as he awakes and feels the empty bed beside him.

What are your favorite things about Raven x Taiyang ship? Outside of their whole relationship not getting showed in the show, is there something you don't like about the ship?
What songs remind you of them?
Thanks for the ask, first off, and sorry I’ve taken a little to get back to you. This took me a bit to type up and I did it instead of working on more Phoenix stories lmao. I did end up getting a bit grouchy about Tai as a character, so fair warning, there’s a bit of critical content here; you can of course scroll right past it to get to the good stuff.
Probably my favourite thing about Raven x Taiyang is the fanfiction; it’s as you say, their relationship is never actually shown in the show, a ship that sunk well before it even sailed-which, fair. It’s not their show. But it still irritates me, because Raven was a character who immediately caught my interest on Youtube because she was hot, and then I watched those videos and I thought “oh wow this lady’s got some serious baggage”. That scene in V5, where Raven’s gaze drops from Yang to the ground and she breathes Tai’s name piqued my interest in that man a thousandfold, and then it turns out he’s…there. He’s been sitting on his ass at home, gardening and gawking the telly while his children fight in the forever war that he must have some idea of, if his glare to Qrow at the end of V3 meant anything. It’s been said before by others: Tai being the stay-at-home parent in an empty house makes no sense. It’s authorial intervention to make sure the protagonists didn’t curbstomp their way through the events of V4-5 with two veteran Huntsmen (sidenote, how cool would it have been if instead of doing nothing and getting left behind by the story, Tai had accompanied Yang to Raven? I mean, shit, if Raven had an out-of-body moment at the mere mention of her ex-husband what would his presence in those scenes have done? The angst! The drama! I AM LITERALLY PICTURING A SCENE IN WHICH Raven ushers them into the tent without a fight, she’s twiddling her thumbs like “aha well, you see…fuck” while Vernal is like “why…is she…OH YOU MUST BE TAI” and then Weiss breaks out of the cage and she’s wiping the floor with those tribal jobbers-and Raven turns to Tai and Yang while they have no idea what's going on, Yang’s instinctively stood up before Tai’s like “nah this sounds like a her problem” and Yang goes “oh yeahhhhh! Good luck bitch lmao”).
You ask what I don’t like about the ship. I’d argue there’s nothing to dislike, because there is practically nothing there, beyond the maddening tease of a handful of scenes that never amount to anything. What I do dislike are the characters as they are written in canon-Raven is hilariously incoherent (“Salem only uses people until they are no longer useful” “…Are you having a stroke” “Yes. Vernal get help”) and Tai is boringly incoherent. They make no sense and they reek of wasted potential.
But the fanfiction. The shit that fan writers get up to when they’re not being hemmed in by canon. <> I originally had a little list of recommendations written up, but on second thought I am unsure how comfortable those writers would be with getting mentioned in a post that is probably going to be tagged RWDE. So…rest assured, there’s some good shit out there, you just have to look. But my favourite one is a genfic that isn’t tagged Raven Branwen/Taiyang Xiao Long. So I’m sorry. <>
Aside from the fanfiction that started all this, I guess I’m also very fond of my own interpretation of Phoenix; think black cat golden retriever, except that the cat is a desperate thing and the dog is mangy as all hell, because I’ve said it before, I don’t like fanon STRQ-era fuckboy Tai. It’s nothing personal, I just don’t care for writing that kind of archetype. Canon Tai isn’t particularly interesting to me either. I consider him a narrative deadweight EXCEPT in the matter of how he relates to Raven, who is far and away the more compelling character to me (hopefully it doesn’t show in my writing, considering what I’m about to get into).
Writing Tai for me personally has been like constantly asking myself the question: Who did Raven Branwen fall in love with? My answer, and I guess parcelled with it the answer to your first question, about what I actually like about Phoenix, is that Raven fell in love with someone who was so unexpectedly like her-with all her rage and doubt and hurt-someone who has suffered, if not measure for measure, a life not unlike hers, and who yet despite it all is still holding out hope-is still fundamentally a good person. Life in the tribe broke that scared little girl-it made her solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short. Tai, on the other hand, drank his milk. With Tai, she doesn’t get the excuse of ‘life was shitty to me so I’m dealing it back’; he sees her, and Raven likewise, because to their mutual shock and rage, they’re looking into a mirror.
I know opposites attract is and probably always will be in romantic vogue, but I like to think that that trope is only the superficial appearance of Phoenix. I imagine them initially enraged by each other, barely able to breathe in the same room without scoffing or making some biting joke (more often than not Raven instigating, Tai retaliating). As the seasons change, rage cools to resignation, and a kind of morbid curiosity sets in. From Raven’s perspective: Why are you like this? Where do you find the will to care? I need to know. From Tai’s: Why are you like this? Can I help you? I want to help. Them working their way from a tentative ceasefire to a comfortable peace; days and days gone without a backbiting that feels so petty and pointless to them now-or if it persists, everyone can feel that there’s no more heat to it. They’re together more often than they’re not-they’re the only people that can pull each other back from the brink, that can realise that the ever-mediative Tai or the taciturn Raven was even there. One blazing day in spring, the sun is on her skin and his hands are in her hair and her mind can only stutter out a double ‘Oh’ before their lips brush and it occurs to her that even if she runs now, she’ll stay. So for a brief and blessed time, she stays, whole, taking an anxious, guilty pleasure in this life that she hates she doesn’t hate. Even after everything she’s done, maybe she has a right to life too. Coming home every day to a home she’s never known-he smells like timber and stock, roses and earth. He’s warm when she’s cold, he’s kind to her when she’s cruel to herself-he holds her as the setting sun washes them in rosegold and she hopes.
And then Yang is born. It’s hardly her fault-for the first week or so, Raven loves her. But the creep of post-partum depression exacerbates all that old rage and doubt and hurt. She’s angrier than usual and she doesn’t know why. Why is she here? She’s killed dozens of men like Tai before-good men, fathers. She’s killed the occasional scrawny kid who fought back, who decided their mementos were worth more to them than their shitty lives. And she gets to be a mother? One day she looks at Yang and she’s just. Disgusted. She’s disgusted by her, and suddenly she’s terrified by herself. She’s going to get someone killed. Well, she can do that somewhere else.
Tai left to father Yang, alone. Raven in the thick of her PPD, making a name for herself across Anima. Nodding until her head hurts when she’s sober and her mind is drawn home. Yes, she made the right choice.
And then the lift of that awful fog. Just as she’s earned the title of ‘Bandit Queen’ it feels worse than meaningless. What the fuck is she doing? Where’s Tai, where’s Yang? Stumbling through that portal. She left them without a damn thing, what was she expecting? They look happy together. She won’t ruin that for them, not again. She staggers back through the portal, heart still rotting in that old home.
Years and years and years passing, letting this new wound scab and scar but it still stings, the worst mistake she’ll ever pay for. Every night, tired eyes to the tent roof, wondering what the look on Tai’s face would be if she cut a path to him right now. She twists, he turns, they grasp at nothing and laugh at jokes half-remembered in the dark. He misses the person he used to be. She doesn’t. She wishes she’d been better.
My favourite thing about Raven x Taiyang is all the shit I made up about them. As for the music!
Going in chronological order of the progression of the relationship, I love to imagine Perfect Pair as a mood for Raven and Tai in their prime. A love unconditional, trusting the other to hold their heart in their hands without breaking it. This followed by the super-sentimental Herz über Kopf (Heart over Head), Raven fighting all the torturous insecurities she has about her right to this life. Two optimistic songs, followed by the steel chair of Tek It to the face, Tai trying to shrug off the betrayal, Raven more than faintly ashamed. This to be emphasised by Out of My League, as a song from her perspective after it finally, really hits her what she’s done. And conclude with Show Me How, a song I reckon perfectly encapsulates the sense of lost love that is radiated by these absolutely miserable, mourning, yearning people. 😊

Tumblr media
A five weeks had passed comfortably. Exams had come and gone. The school had now gracefully provided them a two week break before the year ended and the 3rd years graduated.
Within those five weeks, Akari and her father had found a way to avoid each other as much as possible. Akari more so than Taebin. She went through spells of wanting to forgive him and talk to him, but then she would change her mind. Taebin had a habit of complaining about his daughter... loudly. And in turn, he got more distance.
Akari found those issues to stress her out too much. Especially when she wanted to worry over her studies and exams far more. So she chose to ignore those problems. Those problems being her father. And her engagement. But the engagement was something she couldn't really avoid, not with the time investment her mother was putting into it.
And invested, Yuri was. From attempting to pick Akari's outfits for dinners with the Ootori's, to organizing study sessions and dates. Akari wished she could argue with her mother, and the idea of spending time with her newfound friend. But she didn't argue, for the sake of fearing her mother.
Tumblr media
"You do realize you're disrespecting me in my own home. Let alone my room right? "Akari said with a glare towards her fiancé who was grinning at her. He had been calling her out on her study habit causing her to grumble and pout.
"Yes, where else would we be? " He said, young back to focus on the textbook on Akari's desk. "You disrespectful little bitch." Akari said as she got off the floor, abandoning her school papers, and moving onto her bed.
Just as Kyoya opened his mouth to reply, a knock sounded at the door. Yuri peaked into the room cautiously before sighing in relief and stepping in. Akari narrowed her eyes suspiciously at her mother as she started to speak.
"How's it going in here? "Yurt asked with a smile, glancing between the teens. Akari continued to watch her mother suspiciously as she muttered a quiet 'its going fine'. "Oh, that's great, what is it that you're studying for?"
"I'm doing math. He's doing literature. "Akari said, laying back on her bed and staring up at her high ceiling.
"Well, you're not doing anything." Yuri said as she stepped over the abandoned notes Akari left on the floor. "You seem really confident in yourself if you're not doing anything."
"She is. But she should be with the marks she usually gets on exams," Kyoya told Yuri as he spun around to face them in AKari's desk chair. He had found that despite how ridiculous the chair looked, it was very comfortable to sit in.
"She better." Akari sighed to herself before she sat up.
"Were you going to ask for anything else?" Akari tried to ask as politely as possible.
"Right, so, Tamiko helped me find a really nice cafe we thought you two would be interested in to go see this weekend." Akari gave her mother a right lipped smile and nodded. She found it endearing how much effort her mother was putting into this but she was getting tired of it. She wished they would put all of the romance stuff on pause. At least until school was over and neither of them had to worry about studying and going on dates.
"Does that sound alright?" Yuri asks, smiling between her daughter and soon-to-be son in-law.
Yeah, that's alright. "Kyoya told Akari's mother while looking at Akari's body language. Yuri stood up happily and made her way to the bedroom door but not before telling Akari to clear up the mess of papers she left on the floor. Once the door shut, Akari plopped back down onto the bed and groaned, rubbing her face in frustration.
"How is she so nice but terrifying at the same time?'
Tumblr media
Kyoya  and Akari were sitting across each other in a booth of 고양이와 차. It was a relatively large cafe with a nice pastel interior. When Akari heard the name, she couldn't help but find it confusing. Cats & Tea. That was until she noticed the small cat details in the decoration.
"Are you okay? " Kyoya asked Akari with obvious amusement in his voice and expression, Akari had just sneezed violently five times in a row, she sniffled quietly and reached for a napkin to wipe her nose. She nodded and excused herself to the bathroom right before their order came out to the table.
Kyoya watched Akari leave to the bathroom with amusement covering his concern. He thanked the waitress, not diverting his eyes away from where his fiance until he realized the waitress hadn’t gone away. He looked at the young lady who was standing there shyly.
“Can I help you?”
Tumblr media
"They have cats…" Akari she came back from blowing her nose in the bathroom.
"Okay?" Kyoya looked at her with hidden concern in his eyes at the redness around Akari’s nose and eyes. She had been in the bathroom for no longer than 15 minutes. "What about them?"
"I'm allergic." Akari said, looking at the tea she decided to abandon.
"Clearly." Kyoya watched in amusement as Akari wiped her nose and tried to not rub at her watering eyes.
Akari sniffled and wiped her nose with a napkin. She was trying her hardest to not sneeze or cough from the irritation she was feeling on her face. She had also missed the silent motion Kyoya had made to a waiter, so when they came back with a cheque.
"Wait outside, I'll pay." Kyoya told Akari simply, standing up from the booth, adjusting his vest.
"Look here, mister white…" Kyoya watched with a smirk as Akari stood up and tried to suppress a sneeze, "mister white knight. You've paid every other time, let me"
Kyoya reached over and condescendingly patted the top of her head, "Go outside, Akari. You're starting to scare the other customers." He gave her a fake smile and walked towards the counter.
Akari glared at his back as he walked away before self-consciously looking around at the other people in the cafe. She smiled awkwardly at the one older couple who watched endearingly at the way Kyoya acted towards Akari. She then practically sprinted her way out of the cafe.
She waited out on the sidewalk for a second, waiting for Kyoya and hoping the fresh air would clear her irritated nose. The more she thought about it, the more she got worked up. Why wouldn’t they openly advertise the cats?
“Did you want to go to the park?” Akari turned towards Kyoya who had exited the cafe.
“Why on earth don’t they advertise the cats?” Akari said after they started walking in the direction of the park. Kyoya looked at her with a confused expression.
“They do,” He said once they got to the crosswalk, making sure to look both ways quickly before placing his hand on Akari’s back and crossing. “Everything in there has cats. Even the napkins you were blowing your nose into.”
“I know that,” Akari said, sniffling once more. “But the actual live cats! They need to have that somewhere. I mean, my mother would have never suggested it if she knew.” Kyoya glanced down at her and suppressed a smile.
“Are you feeling better?” Akari looked at Kyoya. He kept looking forward to the path they were walking on. Ahead of them were a few sakura trees on either side of the path. The view of the park peaking through the trees.
“A little. Thankfully I’m not allergic to the blossoms too,” Akari said, blinking to get rid of the dryness of her eyes. She took in a breath and admired the faint scent of the blossoms. “They do smell really nice.”
“Are they admitting a smell?”
“Yea, of course. It’s faint but it’s there.”
“Hm, I guess that makes sense.” SIlence fell between them for a moment before Akari thought about what he said.
“Wait. What do you mean ‘that makes sense’?” Akari asked, trying to hide her overthinking.
“Your sense of smell. The way you know a type of tea and the notes just based on the smell. You’ve chosen the most popular teas for the club this year,” Kyoya praised Akari. She was surprised how effortless it was for him. “Speaking of which, Tamaki wanted to know if you would like to be the manager next year. You would help me decide themes and-”
“Wait, have me as a manager?”
“Of course. You’ve, interestingly enough, brought us success because of the technical side you’ve managed on the sidelines.” Kyoya said as if it was the most obvious thing. “And you would be the manager.”
“Kyoya, I’ve done maybe three things in total for the club,” Akari said. If she were to be asked how she felt, she would say shocked. And then she would say overwhelmed. “I don’t have any qualifications to manage the club.”
“Akari, it’s a school club,” Kyoya said, he was slightly amused by the way she was treating his proposal. “There is no way to be under qualified to manage a host club.”
“But I’m practically underqualified for everything else. So this is just the domino effect.” By this point, they had made it to the end of the path and gotten to the park. They carefully stepped off the raised path and onto the grass. Akari then noticed at that moment that Kyoya hadn’t necessarily removed his hand from Akari’s back.
“You are underqualified?”
“According to my parents, yes,” Akari sighed, thinking of all the things she’d been going through in the past month. “I don’t have the ‘maturity’ to run the company. I don’t understand how or why the press needs to get involved with simple decisions. I don’t put enough effort into my studies to get specific privileges out of school. I’m not qualified for life.”
They had stopped walking and stood under the shade of a tree. Kyoya watched her silently, listening to her unknowingly vent to him. He didn’t mind, as long as she was able to get to a point where she could come to a conclusion. Then, he looked behind her for a second and saw a man sitting on a bench. The man had averted his gaze quickly to the opened newspaper in his lap when Kyoya made eye contact with him.
Kyoya continued to listen to Akari as she got more emotional during her rant. He looked back up at the man and noticed the camera that was sitting next to him. Kyoya took note of it and kept his focus on Akari. When she sighed and looked down at the grass, Kyoya pulled her in for a hug.
“Do they know you were the top three in our year?” Kyoya asked softly, stroking her hair and rubbing her head. She nodded solemnly.
"They dont give a fuck. They think I could've made it to number one…well my mom does. My dad doesnt give a fuck. He actually hasn't spoken to me." Kyoya said nothing. He stood quietly, not knowing how to comfort her. Or what to say. He knew he was shit at comforting people, but he never really thought he would be in a situation where he would have to do it.
Akari pulled out of the hug first and looked down at the ground. The entire time, Kyoya had forced himself to look away from the man that seemed to think he was invisible.
"We should go somewhere…more private." Akari suddenly felt small. She glanced around, feeling eyes peering on her. She nodded at Kyoya and cleared her throat nervously.

Akari was slightly on edge. After Kyoya told her about who they guessed was a reporter watching them, she was on edge. They're suspicions were confirmed when a gossip site published the pictures with the caption 'The Heirs of MPET and Ootori Medical Spotted Out on a Date'.
Akari couldn't shake the idea of people watching her. Not only watching her, but also watching her while she was in a vulnerable state. She hadn't been aware of her surroundings and there was someone watching her every move, only thinking of a paycheck while doing it.
So when she walked through the halls to her last break of the year, she felt the feeling of being watched. She wondered if Kyoya had felt nearly the same thing as he walked past her in the halls. Or if any of it was affecting him nearly as much as him.
"Matsuoka-chan, I've been looking for you!" Akari was slightly taken aback by Takahiro Hoàng stopping her in the less crowded hallway.
"Oh, Hoàng-senpai, what did you need me for?" Akari asked, standing off to the side of the hallway.
"Right, I was just wondering…" He chuckled nervously, then glanced around the hallway as it emptied out. "How are you and Ootori?"
"We're fine… I guess. Why do you ask?" Akari looked at Takahiro suspiciously. He took a deep breath at the question and reached for Akaris hands. She slightly flinched her hands away at first, but still let him bring them up.
"Akari-san, I really like you. I completely understand you're supposed to get married to Ootori but you aren't in love with him." Takahiro had his eyes trained on their hands before looking up into Akari's eyes. Akari’s eyes were wide with confusion. "I'm graduating soon and I really want to see you more often. But not as a friend."
"I'm not- I don't- You barely know me," Akari said as she looked at Takahiro like he had grown another head. "I don't know what you really want me to tell you, Hoàng-san."
"I want you to say you want to give our relationship a shot."

"Yoshio! How have you been?" Taebin greeted the Ootori’s loudly, his booming voice sounding from the family deeper into the home. Yuri looked at her daughter with a knowing look as Akari rolled her eyes at her fathers antics.
As Akari walked with her mother down the halls, she thought of the conversation she had with Takahiro. School had just ended and it was the first weekend of summer. Akari was glad to have free time but with how intense her personal life was getting, she wasn't sure how much free time she would actually get.
She heard Kyoya’s voice after her father asked him a question and she felt a pang of guilt run through her. She rounded the corner and saw her fiancé getting pulled into a hug by her father. She caught Kyoya’s gaze and gave him a tight lipped smile. She then turned to Fuyumi and hugged her tightly with a wide smile.
"You look really pretty," Fuyumi told Akari with a grin when she moved out of the hug. "Kyoya’s not gonna be able to keep his eyes off you." She gave Akari a wink and moved out of the way for Kyoya to come over and greet her.
Kyoya smiled at her and went in for a hug. Akari weakly wrapped her arms around him and took a breath.
"You look really nice," Kyoya said to her quietly and pulled away. She gave him the same smile as before and followed behind her parents once they started heading into the dining room.
Kyoya and Akari were partially forced to sit next to each other during the dinner by their mothers. At one point during the dinner, Akari shifted her leg to cross them and hit Kyoya with her foot. She didn't think much of it until Kyoya roughly shoved her leg back down with his face unfazed. Then, throughout the night, they had a battle of kicking each other.
Akari pushed her knee against Kyoya's as they came in with the desert of a Mocha cake and option of tea or coffee. They set down Akari's tea, she mumbled a 'thank you' to the maid, trying to cover up the strain of pushing against Kyoya. Suddenly, she let go of the force and Kyoya's momentum jolted him.
A young maid had set down Kyoya's tea and saw him jolt. "Are you alright?" Kyoya nodded and gave her a tight lipped smile. Everyone looked at him strangely for a moment before returning to their food.
"So, there is just one announcement we wanted to make," Yuri said softly. Akari looked up from her mocha cake with panic beaming off of her. "Don't worry, it's something we think you two deserve. Especially after how hard you worked on your finals."
Akari looked at Kyoya next to her and tried to hide her disbelief as her mother spoke. She scoffed to herself and reached for her cup of tea.
Taebin kept his eyes on his cake, "We're planning on doing a cruise with our yacht in the next few weeks. We want you to relax and enjoy your summer break."
Akari watched her father from across the table with a bored look. He refused to look up at her, even just looking at Kyoya to make a point.
Akari smiled humorlessly, "I take it we don't have a decision in this either?"
