Dialogue Prompt: ❝ You and me, working together. Taking down the galaxy. What do you think? ❞
Finally finished this one! I know it took forever, so I hope it was worth the wait!
Best Friends
(Adira Cavell x Kallie Vosh)
CW: ableist language, fantasy racism (on the part of the bad guys)
Note: This takes place in a weird hybrid of @sithwarblade 's and my own AUs. Adira is my OC, Kallie is hers, background OCs belong to one or both of us.
Adira felt the angry surge in the Force an instant before the group of her fellow Padawans came into view. It wasn’t something she was accustomed to, not on Tython, and for a quick second she felt a cold needle of fear jolt through her spine—just last night, hadn’t Tarsi Celwick said there was a Sith Lord hiding in the caves behind the waterfalls, waiting for Padawans to wander into his lair so he could sacrifice them on his altar of bones and feast on their insides—
She shook her head roughly, both to dismiss the thought and chastise herself. There were no Sith here, no matter what Tarsi whispered to her bunkmates after lights out, and even if there was, which there wasn’t, she was nowhere near the waterfall caves, anyway.
Her feet continued to carry her along the dirt path she traveled, worn into the grass of the training grounds by the steps of countless Padawans and Jedi before her, and as she rounded a clump of tall lipanaberry bushes she came face to face with the source of the anger lancing through her mind. A small girl, probably about Adira’s age, with blue skin, red eyes, and short, messy black hair stood atop a small boulder with fists clenched and jaw set, emotion rolling off her like ocean waves.
Adira felt her eyes widen. Of course, Padawans didn’t possess the same level of control over their emotions as the Masters, but they were rarely powerful enough to project their feelings through the Force, a fact that Adira’s own teachers often told her she should be grateful for when she failed to contain her own excitements. This girl, though, had the Force around her roiling, and as Adira moved closer, she could sense other things behind the fury: shame, embarrassment, a bit of self-righteous pleasure at the violent setdown she was about to deliver to her tormentors.
Tormentors they clearly were; the loose half circle of  boys before her were not subtle in their abuse, and Adira could hear their taunts from a dozen meters away.
“I don’t know why they didn’t just kill you when they found you, you little freak.” The boy who spoke was the obvious ringleader, the biggest of a group of big humans. They all wore the braid, robes, and training saber of a Padawan, even if their behavior made her doubt whether they deserved that title, and looked to be a few years older than she and the other girl. Adira felt her jaw tighten and her fists clench, unconsciously mirroring the other girl’s position. She hated bullies, and part of her—a really big part—ached to throw her lot in with the girl and see how much damage they could do before the Masters pulled them apart, even if they were outnumbered, and, judging by the boys’ ages, two or three combat classes ahead of her.
Any other time, she might have leapt right in, but it was just her luck that less than five minutes ago she had been released from an interminable lecture on all of the paths available to a Jedi before they resorted to violence, ending with the promise of extra chores for a month if she got caught fighting again. Adira really didn’t want to spend the rest of the summer with her evenings tied up in kitchen duty, especially not for a fight she was likely to lose, and badly. Which meant she needed a plan…
The boy continued hurling insults as Adira closed the distance between them.
“Anyone can tell just by looking at you that you’re only good for target practice. You’re lucky I don’t have a lightsaber yet or I’d—“
“Cut off you own hand, I bet,” Adira interjected as she stopped nearby, too tired of his vitriol to let the boy continue for one more moment. “There’s a reason they don’t let horranths carry lightsabers,” she continued when the group turned to look at her. “I don’t think they’ll make an exception for you.”
The boy looked shocked for a moment, as if no one had ever insulted him before, but he quickly snapped back.
“You're one to talk, blank face,” he sneered, confident and smug with the laughter of his lackeys at his back.
Adira found herself unsurprised by the fact that he only knew enough of Mirialan culture to know that their tattoos marked personal achievement, but not that they weren't permitted to get those tattoos until they reached puberty. She rolled her eyes at him; why did the meanest and stupidest people always have to shout the loudest, like the rest of the galaxy didn’t already know how mean and stupid they were? Her anger drained away and was replaced with a tired sort of contempt. She still wished she could give him a few marks of his own, but more for the benefit of the silent, angry girl on the rock than herself.
The boy continued his assault without waiting for a response.
“I heard Sith don't take alien scum at their academy. That's the one thing they've got right, I guess.”
Adira barely heard him. Her gaze was trained behind the group of bullies and her mind was rapidly forming a plan. She returned her attention to the boy and adopted a bored expression.
“I don't have time for your barking, little dog. Go beg some scraps from Master Quilb.” Then, though it went against every one of her instincts, she turned her back on the group of humans and faced the Chiss girl, whose anger, she noticed, had faded to an almost undetectable level.
Adira didn't even have time to speak to her before the first blow fell across her shoulders. It hurt, but not as bad as she had expected; her opponent relied on brute strength more than technique, and it showed. Adira's plan, however, counted on him being a better combatant than she, so she used the momentum from his strike to propel herself forward, tucking into a ball at the last second to lessen her impact against the ground. She stayed there, arms curled around her head for protection, waiting…
“Padawan! Drop your training saber this instant!” The voice thundered across the training grounds, and Adira was reasonably sure that every Padawan within earshot had immediately thrown their weapon to the ground.
Knowing that they would never dare to attack her with the attention of a Jedi on them, Adira gingerly unfolded her body and sat up in time to see Master Jallo striding up to the group, his normally cheerful face grim and focused.
“Padawan Berik,” he said in a low voice, placing his hands on his hips and pinning the boy who had struck Adira with his serious gaze. “What were you thinking, to attack an unarmed Padawan? One who is younger than you, and who had her back turned?”
Adira stopped listening. She had no doubt that Master Jallo would punish the offenders suitably; she had more than enough experience in that department, and if any of them got off with less than a week of extra chores and an ethics essay, she’d eat her tunic. No, their consequences were of no concern to her—she was much more interested in studying the Chiss girl.
She remained standing on her rock, watching the proceedings before her with those wide, red eyes. She wore the same white cotton tunic and loose pants that Adira and most of the other Padawans did, although hers were much neater than Adira’s own, which were covered in enough dirt and grass stains that it wasn’t strictly accurate to call them white anymore. Her black hair was cut short, barely brushing her eyebrows in the front and sticking up in one hundred different directions in the back. That hair was the wildest thing about her, and it made Adira smile.
Adira could no longer sense any emotion from her, anger or otherwise. Her clenched fists had relaxed and her face betrayed more of a nervous surprise than the tension it had earlier. Adira wondered whether she was shocked at Adira’s own actions, those of Master Jallo, or something else entirely. Maybe she just wasn’t used to seeing people get in trouble. She didn’t seem like the sort who normally got up to mischief, that earlier spike of anger notwithstanding.
Adira sidled closer to the rock, closing the few steps between them so she could speak quietly to the girl.
“Don’t worry, you aren’t going to get into trouble. You didn’t do anything wrong,” she whispered, careful to keep her voice low enough that she didn’t interrupt Master Jallo. “What’s your name?”
The girl looked at her uncertainly for a few seconds before she answered. “Kallie.”
“Kallie. That’s pretty. I’m Adira.”
Kallie nodded shyly. “Hi.”
“Hi.” Adira flashed her a wide grin.
“Padawan Adira.” Master Jallo’s voice pulled Adira’s attention away from her new friend. The group of boys was gone, subduedly headed across the training grounds in the direction of the Jedi Temple, though Master Jallo was still here, his focus on Adira now. She was gratified to see that he held a training saber—he must have confiscated it from the Padawan who hit her.
“Yes, Master Jallo?” she answered, her voice bright. He raised an eyebrow at her.
“A horranth?”
Oh. Oh. Of course those womp rats would blame their actions on her! Her eyes blazed as she drew herself up to her full height.
“He said the Jedi should have killed Kallie, and he was threatening her, just because she’s a Chiss!” Her words were too loud, fierce in their defense of her actions and her friend, but she didn’t know how to quiet them. “I did call him a horranth, but he was acting worse than one! At least horranths—”
“Padawan.” Master Jallo held up one large hand, the one that wasn’t gripping the training saber. Adira glared silently for a moment before catching the exaggerated rise and fall of his chest, all of the sudden remembering what she was supposed to do when she felt overwhelmed by emotions.
Closing her eyes, Adira sucked in a great, deep breath through her nose, inhaling for a count of four, holding her breath for another four count, and finally releasing it through her mouth for the same amount of time. She repeated the action until she felt in control, then opened her eyes once more.
“I’m sorry, Master Jallo,” she said in a small voice, scuffing her foot against the ground and not looking at him. “I didn’t mean to lose my temper, with you or those boys. I just wanted to protect Kallie. What they were doing wasn’t right!” Here her eyes snapped up to his, a trace of the old righteous fury flashing within them.
“You’re correct. It wasn’t right, and I will be making sure they understand why myself. But why didn’t you come to one of the Masters in the first place?”
“Um.” Adira stared blankly at Master Jallo. Why didn’t she go to a Master? She didn’t know. “At least I didn’t technically get into a fight?” she offered up, not really expecting the words to get her out of anything, but figuring she should make the point just in case.
Adira thought she saw a smile twitch into life at the corner of Master Jallo’s lips, but she must have imagined it because the next instant he looked as serious as ever. “You won’t be punished for defending your friend, Adira,” he sighed. “And I am glad that you didn’t resort to fighting.” Now he really did smile. “I guess all that kitchen duty finally paid off?”
Adira grumbled something incoherent as he continued.
“Next time, though, please bring something like this to one of your teachers. That’s what we’re here for, you know.” He turned to Kallie. “You too, Padawan Kallie. You can always come to us for help.”
Kallie nodded hesitantly, answering so quietly that Adira had to strain to hear her. “Yes, Master Jallo. Thank you.”
Master Jallo returned her nod. “Well, then, I’ll leave you to it.” The girls watched as he walked away, crossing a broad patch of grass to the group of teenagers he had been instructing in combat forms before their interruption.
Adira watched them for a moment, captivated by their fluid motions, before turning back to Kallie, who had scrambled down from her perch atop the boulder and was scurrying towards the outskirts of the training grounds.
“Hey, wait!” Adira called, running after her and grabbing her gently by the arm when she caught up. “Where are you going?”
Kallie stared at her, that same surprise from earlier stamped across her features.
“I don’t know,” she answered, looking around blankly. “Just…away. No one wants a Chiss around, anyway.”
“That’s not true!” Adira protested. “The Barsen’thor is a Chiss, and everyone knows she’s the Council’s favorite Jedi!” She crossed her fingers behind her back at that last bit; while it was true the Barsen’thor was a Chiss, Adira had no idea who the Council’s favorite was, or even if they had one at all, but it seemed the sort of position the Barsen’thor might possess, and besides, Kallie needed to hear it.
“Really?” Kallie asked, her eyes alight with interest.
“Really!” Adira confirmed, uncrossing her fingers as she returned to a stricter version of the truth. “I even met Master Tal’shan’ri once. She was amazing! I bet those stupid boys wouldn’t say anything about you being Chiss if they’d seen her.”
“I didn’t know there were other Chiss Jedi,” Kallie said.
“I bet there’s even more than one. We can look in the library later, but first…” Adira looked around, made sure no one had approached them unnoticed. She lowered her voice to a whisper. “Can you keep a secret?”
Kallie’s eyes widened a little, but she nodded.
“Great!” Adira grabbed Kallie by the hand, pulling her back to the path Adira had been taking when she first happened upon Kallie and the bullies. “I can’t wait to show you—“ she stopped in her tracks, Kallie bumping against her side at the unexpected stop. “Do you mind getting dirty?” Adira asked, eyeing her friend’s pristine white clothes.
Kallie shook her head. “I just never had a reason to.”
“Now you do,” Adira said with a grin, and then they were off, Adira leading the way, Kallie stumbling excitedly behind her as they left the path, heading up a steep, sparsely wooded hillside. Adira chattered as they climbed, telling Kallie about the time she met the Barsen’thor, and about kitchen duty, and how she was pretty sure she could tame a manka cat if she tried hard enough, and how she shouldn’t believe anything dumb old Tarsi Celwick might tell her because that girl is definitely a liar.
At first Kallie mainly listened, gasping and nodding and asking for details at appropriate spots, but as they left the thin woods and scrambled along a rocky ridge, clambering over boulders taller than they were and kicking tiny avalanches of scree in their wake, she began to open up as well. She told Adira about the time she was sneaking to the library after hours (“You do get into trouble!” Adira laughed delightedly) and saw Master Safiya, the actual, real-life Jedi Battlemaster, kiss a man on the lips, and how if you promised to be very still and quiet Master Quilb would let you hold the injured baby guid he was nursing back to health, and, back in the shadow of the trees once more, that if you brought Master Mirvue a basket of lipanaberries she would make lipanaberry pancakes for breakfast the next morning.
By the time they reached their destination, the late afternoon sun was just starting to skim the horizon. Adira led Kallie through a gap in the trees onto a large, rocky outcropping that jutted out of the side of the mountain. Below them, the ground fell sharply the hundreds of meters to the Tythos River, which wound through the bottom of the valley like a smooth, silver ribbon.
Kallie gasped at the sight of the wilderness laid out before them. “How did we get so high up?” she asked, her feet inching forward in a cautious shuffle.
Adira plopped down on the ground next to her, pushing limp and sweaty strands of hair away from her forehead and tucking them back into the haphazard bun tied on top of her head.
“We started out higher than you think. The Temple is behind us, and it’s already pretty far up in the mountains. The river winds around for a bit and then there’s this massive waterfall—I can take you there sometime, too, if you want—and then it comes out into the valley on the other side of the ridge, and that’s what you see now.”
“Wow.” Kallie stood and admired the view for a while longer before she came and sat down beside Adira, much more gracefully than Adira had done a few minutes prior.
A companionable silence wrapped around them as they sat, basking in the warm glow of the sun’s final golden hours, serenaded by the sounds of the birds and small animals of the forest at their back, neither realizing that this small moment of peace was everything the Jedi had ever taught them.
After some time, Adira reached out her hand and found Kallie’s, entwining their fingers and giving a gentle squeeze.
“I think we should be best friends,” she pronounced, voice quiet but filled with firm surety.
“I’ve never had a best friend before,” Kallie said, her words just as soft, examining their pair of clasped hands. “But we aren’t in any of the same classes, or the same dorm.”
“So?” Adira asked, turning to face Kallie fully now, not loosening her grip on the other girl’s hand. “We don’t have to be, and anyway, that changes every year. I bet they would put us in the same dorm if we asked nicely. They’d probably think you’d be a good influence on me.”
Kallie considered, laughing a little. “That’s true. I’ve never had kitchen duty and you have like one hundred times!”
Adira giggled as she continued. “And we won’t be Padawans forever. After we’re Jedi, we can get a ship, and go wherever we want! You and me, working together. Taking down the galaxy. What do you think?”
“I think,” Kallie said, the widest smile Adira had seen from her yet spreading across her face, “that I’m going to have a lot more chores to do soon.”
“What? Why?” Adira was confused by her words, and even more so by her apparent happiness about extra chores.
“Because my best friend is a bad influence!”

________
“Can I help set the table?” you asked the next evening, Jensen shaking his head at you.
“JJ, can you set the table for me?” asked Jensen. She jumped up from the couch and got out silverware, setting an extra spot for you.
“Y/N, are you and dad on a date?” she asked when she finished up. You looked down from where you leaned back against the counter, Jensen chuckling.
“Yes we are sweetie. If this goes well I’d like to take Y/N out on Friday, maybe you guys can go to Uncle Jared and Aunt Gen’s,” he said.
“You should go out with dad,” said JJ.
“Oh I should?” you said, crossing your arms. “Why’s that?”
“Cause he’s strong and handsome and smart and funny and…” she said, holding up her hand and counting on her hand.
“The hair,” he whispered, a smirk crossing your face.
“Oh and he’s only got a few gray hairs!” she said.
“Oh. Well that is interesting,” you laughed, Jensen smacking himself in the face.
“Great hair, JJ. Not gray. Great,” he said.
“You do have gray whiskers,” she said.
“Like...barely,” he said. “See what I put up with? A few teensy tiny little patches in my beard if it grows out.”
“I don’t know if I can date a man of such frail age,” you said. He cocked his head and you laughed, JJ giggling as she went to get the plates.
“Keep it up you two,” he said. You walked over to him, JJ going past with the plates. “Come to tease some more?”
“I was told you’re quite handsome, thought I’d get a closer look,” you said.
“You can have as close a look as you want,” he said, flashing you a wink.
“Calm yourself, Casanova,” you said, reaching up to the cupboard to get another plate for JJ. “Here sweetie.”
“Thanks,” she said. She set it ran back over, hugging you. “Don’t go.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” you said.
“Good,” she said. You bent down and picked her up, resting her on your hip.
“Where’d you think I was going?” you asked. She shrugged and Jensen stopped stirring the pot.
“I don’t know. Wherever you were before. Dad’s a lot happier since you live with us now,” she said.
“Well taking care of you three is hard all by yourself,” you said. You set her down and patted her head. “Go get your brother and sister for dinner.”
“You’re good with them,” he said, stirring the pot again.
“They’re people. Small people that don’t know half of what adults do but still people. Sometimes you gotta treat ‘em like it. Most of the time actually,” you said.
“I talked to her earlier about this whole situation,” he said.
“Besides listing off all your selling points what’d she think?”
“Well apparently she’s in favor of me asking if you’d marry me tonight,” he said.
“Oh. Shotgun wedding. Simple. I like it,” you laughed. He turned his head and smiled, glancing down for a long moment, slowly returning.
“Why doesn’t this situation scare you? The kids, me who has been all over the place lately, not to mention my job, long distance, the shit you get just for-” he said, your hand covering his mouth.
“I didn’t say it’s not a lot, Jensen. It’s scary. Of course it is. Every single one of my relationships has ended badly for one reason or another. Friendships. Family ones. Romantic ones. You’re handsome and you’re so successful and I’m literally a nanny but you said you wouldn’t hurt me. So I’ll trust that you won’t and you trust I won’t hurt you and it’ll work itself out.”
“That simple huh.”
“I’m easy going. Let’s keep it simple,” you said.
“Simple works,” he said as you pulled the pot off the burner before it bubbled over. “Simple definitely works.”
“This is not a good idea,” you said two hours later, the kids in bed, you and Jensen jumping up and down on the trampoline in the yard.
“Oh most certainly not,” he said, landing near you and sending you up. You yelped and landed back down on your bottom, Jensen bouncing again, sending you up again and laughing this time. “Well that’s a cute sound.”
“Boys. Is it taught somewhere that you gotta tease a girl when you like her?” you asked, Jensen pulling you to your feet and bouncing around lightly.
“Right after manly man class, duh,” he said.
“You would have failed, I can tell you right now,” you said. He scoffed and you shrugged. “That’s kinda a really good thing.”
“That your ex? Tough guy all the time?” he asked.
“Not like, to that extent or anything. I had a bad day and I really needed someone and he let me down. He got mad at me for it actually. He called depression a phase I needed to get over with,” you said. He stopped bouncing and you did the same, glancing down. Next thing you knew he playfully tackled you onto the trampoline, rolling to his side and smiling at you.
“Some of my friends have it. One of my best friends does. Jared. If he ever knocks on the door late at night or whatever, let him in.”
“You take care of everyone in your life it seems,” you said.
“You take care of the people you care about, not insult them. Hopefully the ex figures that out someday.”
“How’d you figure it out?”
“I don’t do anything anyone else shouldn’t,” he said.
“Maybe that’s it,” you said. “You’re unapologetically good and you don’t even know how rare that is.”
“It takes up too much energy to be angry or mean or cruel. I’d just rather be happy,” he said.
“You got a lot of friends, don’t you.”
“My fair share,” he said.
“How many would you call close?”
“Maybe ten or so.”
“How many real close?”
“Two or three.”
“How many know what really happened that day? Your wife…” you said. He stared at you and swallowed.
“How do you know?” he asked quietly.
“Because when we met you said she died in an accident but then you said it was her head. You’re holding onto something, something you don’t talk about.”
“She was driving when the aneurysm happened. I was in the car with her. I almost died. It’s seemed easier to lie about that.”
“Who knows?”
“My parents and Jared. They’re the only ones.”
“You ever talk to anyone about it?”
“I went to talk to someone a few times. I’m better now,” he said with a smile. “I don’t share a lot if you may have guessed already. Not to too many people. But you it feels so easy to.”
“Must be special,” you said. He smiled and reached a hand over, twirling a piece of your hair in his fingers. “That why you like me?”
“There’s a lot of stereotypical reasons to like someone and part of that is true in why you choose someone I suppose. But there’s this other part that when you meet someone that you can’t really explain.”
“I get that. I get all of it. My brain always seems to want to go to the bad scenario first I suppose,” you said. You looked up at the black sky, Jensen toying with another strand between two fingers. “I wish it didn’t do that so much.”
“You’re just trying to protect yourself is all,” he said.
“But I come off as pushy and distant,” you said, turning your head. “Like I’m that person that’s cool with everything being casual.”
“Well think of it like this trampoline. It’s the only thing holding us up right now right?” he asked and you hummed. “Well my life, I’ve had thousands of safety nets below me to catch me when I fall so even if I tore through one, there was more to hold me up while the others got fixed. You never had as many to start and I think more of yours broke and there was no way to fix them in time so you kept tumbling through until you got to the ground.”
“Your point?”
“Maybe some people hit the ground and others never do. But the people who hit the ground, as they go back up they can make the best most solid nets in the world to hold them up. One good net beats a thousand flimsy ones.”
“So at what age do I get the wisdom?” you asked, turning your head and smiling over at him.
“You don’t. My job has made me fall through more nets than I wanted to and this year made me realize I might not have a thousand strong nets at the bottom but I just needed one to get by and now I’m working back up. You’re not even close to being down low either. You’ve already had the hardest part of your life. It’s all up from here.”
You leaned over and he lay back on the trampoline, gazing up at you. You lowered your head as he cupped your cheek, pulling you in close until your lips were touching. Part of your mind was reeling from that in itself but the other half knew that was his first kiss since his wife. You inched back but stayed close, Jensen peeling open his eyes.
“You okay?” you asked.
“Very,” he said. You lay back beside him, Jensen letting you go. His hand reached out for yours though and laced your fingers together. “Why’d you kiss me?”
“Wanted to,” you said.
“Cool. I wanted to kiss you too,” he said.
“Alright then.” You stared upwards, the trampoline shifting again. He popped into view propped up on one arm, your head turning slightly. He was flush, even in the dim light. He moved slowly but you let him come to you, a barely there gentle kiss that lingered, a thousand gears going in your head, likely a thousand more going off in his.
“I’m okay,” he said quietly as he pulled back a few inches. Your fingers carded through his hair and he smiled. “I’ll get the hang of this again. I promise.”
“That was more than enough for one night,” you said. “We said slow and we’ll go slow, okay?”
“Sounds good with me.”
Two Days Later
“Y/N, can I have a word with you in my office?” asked Jensen as you were picking up after dinner. You hummed and put the last fork in the dishwasher before following him down to a quieter part of the house. He shut the door behind you and he ran his hand over his face. “This is about work, my work, but it’s going to involve you. Heavily.”
“What’s up?” you asked, taking a seat in a chair. He sat in his by his desk, scrunching up his face.
“My job with that TV show, The Boys, it films in Canada. I’m gonna need to be up there four, maybe five months. The way things used to work with my wife was I would fly back home every weekend or every other weekend. I never went more than 2 weeks seeing the kids. I don’t have to film every day but it’s easier to stay there for the week. But it’s...it’s difficult for me. It’s difficult for them and...they lost one parent this year. I can’t stay away that long for months. I just can’t do it anymore.”
“That’s perfectly understandable,” you said.
“I’d like to temporarily move to Canada while I film. No flying back and forth. The kids can see me everyday and I can see them. JJ’s school still offers remote learning and I’m homeschool certified in a pinch. Twins can do daycare easy. The only issue I have is the same one I originally did. I still need a nanny. Only now in a different country...and it’s gonna be more late nights on the regular.”
“I see,” you said.
“This isn’t what you signed up for so if you don’t want it, that’s okay. I can find a nanny up there and we can try long distance and-” he said before you stood and walked in front of him.
“I’m in.”
“Really? I mean it’s gonna be awhile before we’re back in the states,” he said.
“It sounds like fun.”
“Awesome. I was really hoping you’d say that,” he said.
“So where are we going?” you asked.
“Toronto. Well, near there. I gotta start filming start of February but there’s promo stuff to do in late January,” he said.
“It’s already late January,” you laughed. “When do we have to move?”
“Uh, tomorrow,” he said. “Just got the call a few hours ago. I got a house to rent lined up already.”
“Oh wow. Alright. Uh, what do I need to do exactly?” you asked.
“Keep stuff normal. Don’t worry about cleaning or anything. Maybe box up anything you want to bring and some of the kids stuff. Toys, books, that stuff. I’ll handle their bags. We’ll ship it all up tomorrow and take a flight up at night,” he said.
“Okay, cool,” you said. “Wait I need like, a snow jacket right?”
“We’ll get you set up there with coat and boots and all that,” he said.
“Gotcha,” you said, starting to leave before you spun around and walked smack into his chest. “Wait. I have a lot more questions actually. Like...I don’t have a passport?”
“I know which is why tomorrow morning first thing you’re gonna go down to the post office, get your passport done up and when it comes in, we’ll get it shipped up to Canada,” he said.
“How do I get into Canada though?”
“We share a border with them so we bring your license and birth certificate, you can go right on in no problem,” he said.
“Oh. Okay,” you said. “Wait. I’ve never been on an airplane before. What-”
“Okay,” he laughed. “Take a hot second and breathe and we’ll go from there. I know it’s last minute but it’ll work out. I promise.”
“Y/N,” said Jensen, tapping your shoulder two days later. You hummed and reluctantly turned your head away from staring out the back sliding doors to the snow covered yard and trees around you. “Have you ever seen snow before?”
“No. Not like this,” you said, head going back to staring outside. “It’s something out of a movie.”
“You had that same look on your face when we took off last night in the plane.”
“What’s that?”
“Those little moments where the years fall off and you get that childish joy, like nothing bad has ever happened,” he said.
“I suppose there’s hope for me yet,” you said with a smile.
“Oh there was always that,” he chuckled. He threw an arm over your shoulders and you leaned into him. “Can I still take you out Friday?”
“Who’s gonna watch the kids?” you asked.
“My buddy.”
“Does he exist?” you said, grinning at him.
“Cute,” he said, ruffling your bedhead. “Yes he does exist. How’s Friday night sound?”
“Do I need a dress?” you asked.
“Probably. It’s a nice place,” he said. “My favorite place in Toronto actually. Jeans are perfectly acceptable there though.”
“I’ll pick out a dress today too,” you said. You kissed his cheek and watched them turn an ever so light pink. “You’re cute.”
“Shut up,” he chuckled. “Put your boots and coat on the card I gave you alright? That’s a business expense.”
“Whatever you say boss,” you said. “I’m gonna duck out before the little ones get up. I’ll try not to be gone too long.”
“Take your time. Drive slow in the snow until you get the hang of it, okay?”
“I will. I promise.”
“What the fuck’s the difference between therma heat and therma wear…” you mumbled to yourself, gawking at the glove rack at the store an hour later.
“I think it’s just marketing,” said the guy on the other side. You jumped and managed to knock about five pairs off the hangers. He laughed quietly and peeked his head around. “Didn’t mean to spoke ya.”
“It’s alright. I’m…” you said, the man smiling as you shook your head out. “Um...I…”
“You okay?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. You nodded and he smiled. “You sure cause you were just having a life crisis over gloves a second ago and now you can’t seem to form a sentence.”
“You’re Home…” you said, shutting your eyes. “You’re the actor that plays...I’m having a fucking day.”
“Looks like it,” he said, bending down and picking up some of the gloves. He laughed again and you got the ones closest to you, putting them back. “You know it’s like ten degrees outside right? Not exactly sneaker weather.”
“I know. This place looks pretty but it’s worse than a Texas summer almost with how cold it is.”
“I thought you sounded not from here,” he said with a smile. “I’m not from around here either. I do better with the heat myself.”
“Okay um, listen...uh, what’s your name, not Homelander?” you asked.
“Antony,” he chuckled again.
“I’m Y/N. I’m just gonna get the weird stuff out of the way cause…” you said as he smiled but stepped back a foot. “Yeah. Um I’m a fan but like...do you know Jensen Ackles?”
“Why?” he asked.
“He’s my boss...and my boyfriend but that’s another story. We might run into each other at some point, probably very likely. Just wanted to throw that out there.”
“Your boss?” he asked.
“I nanny his kids. I wouldn’t believe me if I were you either. I should go,” you said. You groaned when you were past him, hearing a pair of feet jog to catch up with you.
“I know you. You were on his instagram last week right? Yeah okay, that makes sense why a clueless Texas girl is stressing over gloves.”
“Excuse me?” He shook his head and smiled.
“Get a pair of thick gloves, thinner ones but not too thin, a warm hat, good boots for traction along with some boot spray and go with a longer hooded parka. It’ll be warmer. Throw in a few pairs of wool socks to be sure,” he said.
“Oh. Thank you,” you said. You looked back at the store and then to him. “There’s like five hundred coats in here.”
“How about you buy me a cup of coffee and I’ll help you out. Deal?”
“Why would you help me?” you asked.
“Well I’m gonna be working with Jensen quite a bit and he’s your boyfriend too apparently plus it’s just nice,” he said.
“You’re so not like your character.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment. We’ll be out of here in an hour tops.”
Antony turned out to be very helpful since apparently you had an uncanny ability to be attracted to the least warmth rated items in the whole store. But you had your parka and boots on now, other items tucked away in the bags as you browsed through a rack of black dresses at a different store.
“We dress shopping now?” said Antony, sipping on his coffee cup.
“Dude,” you said, jumping again. “You gotta learn to make noise.”
“It’s my natural stealth,” he said. “That one.”
“What?”
“That one,” he said, nodding to a dress on the wall.
“I can’t pull that one off,” you said.
“Try it. I’ll watch your stuff,” he said.
“You’re oddly nice,” you said. “To a stranger.”
“Well this beats my plans of walking around the mall buying crap I don’t need. Besides, I like you.”
“I have a boyfriend.”
“I’m taken,” he laughed. “Come on. Everybody needs a shopping buddy.”
“Okay but if you’re a weirdo Jensen will kick your ass,” you said, finding your size and taking it off the rack. “Just sayin’.”
“I like the guy more already,” he said. “It’s not like it’s your first date or anything.”
“...Second date.” He stared and looked away. “It’s…complicated.”
“I heard about...you know…the accident,” he said.
“Let him bring that up,” you said and he nodded. You took the dress into the changing room and smirked at the mirror. “Alright, maybe we give this one a shot.”
You changed back and found Antony on a bench outside.
“I should take you shopping more often,” you said. “You have good taste.”
“Sounds like a winner,” he said, handing you back your bags. “I gotta head out for work but it was nice meeting you, Y/N. I’m sure I’ll see you around very soon.”
“Me too. Thanks for the help today, really.”
“Not a problem at all. See ya later,” he said as he headed out. You gave him a wave and picked out a pair of black heels to go with the dress before you were heading home.
“Hey Jensen,” you said late that night. He’d had to go in for some photos in the afternoon and had taken quite a bit longer than he’d anticipated. “Leftovers are in the container on the top shelf.”
“Thanks, Y/N,” he said. He rubbed his eyes and padded into the kitchen before tossing the container in the microwave.
“Um, Jensen? Can I talk to you about work?” you asked. His ears perked up and he nodded while he looked around for a spoon. “Second drawer to the left.”
“Thanks,” he said. “So what’s up? Something wrong?”
“Not exactly. I was thinking earlier though about a backup plan,” you said. He took out the container and grabbed his spoon sitting across from you at the table.
“What’s a backup plan?” he asked, shoveling a spoonful of too hot pasta into his mouth.
“Well down in Austin, say I was suddenly unable to perform my job duties cause I’m sick or hurt or I’m off on vacation or whatever. Down there I have a network of other nannies that could step in temporarily, they can do a pick up or drop off in a bind, that sort of thing. It’s kind of a support group in way. It’s good for me and for you.”
“They must have one of those things up here?” he asked, taking a slower bite this time. You spun your computer around and he nodded. “Tornanny. That’s cute. You gotta sign up or something?”
“I need to take a four hour class. They have one on Saturday morning. Is it okay if I sign up?” you asked. He chuckled and took another bite of food.
“Weekends are still yours to do as you please. I need a bit more help during weeknights or mornings but weekends are still yours. I’m also compensating your pay for the additional time and no you’re not winning that argument so don’t even try.”
“Okay. I’m gonna sign up,” you said, turning the computer back.
“What was that thing on the side?” he asked.
“Hm?” you said as you started filling in the form.
“Some happy hour thing on the side,” he said. You flicked your eyes over to the side of the page and saw the group posting. “That could be fun.”
“Do I look like the kind of person that goes to happy hours?” you said.
“Well maybe you could meet a nanny friend in this group, one you could maybe get to cover for you if you ever needed it. I did steal you away from everything you know to a different country with a days notice after all. I’d go with you if you want,” he said.
“What about the kids?”
“Hm?”
“Jensen. I’m starting to see a fatal flaw in me being the nanny and us dating. I’m the person that should be watching the kids when you go out,” you said.
“Hm,” he said, eating for a few moments. “You do have a point. I think we need to renegotiate your contract.”
“Wait you’re firing me?” you said, Jensen shaking his head and laughing. “Okay cause you were about to lose a girlfriend for a second there.”
He smiled to himself and looked down, playing with his dinner.
“So what are you talking about?” you asked.
“Well, girlfriend,” he chuckled. “How about this? Weekends you don’t work, at all, for any reason. If you watch the kids for an hour while I duck to the store, it’s cause you’re doing it cause of us, not as part of your job. If we want to go out or on a date on the weekend, we’ll get a sitter. I had a go to in Vancouver when I lived there. I’ll give her a call, see if she knows anyone out here that would work. That sound good?”
“I guess that’s alright,” you said. He raised and eyebrow and you shrugged. “I enjoy our alone time, don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to take away from them though.”
“I appreciate the sentiment but I’m not saying…” he said before he trailed off and ate the last bites of his food. “I moved us so they could see me everyday which is far more than they ever did when I filmed my show. I will still make them breakfast. I will still put them to bed. I will still have lunch with them and play with them and all of it. They’ll always by my first priority. But a relationship with kids doesn’t always mean the kids are around. Sometimes they come with, sometimes they stay home. I’m not talking about ditching them for days on end. A few hours on a Saturday night, most of which they’ll be in bed asleep is all I’m talking about. We have a right to a little bit of time for ourselves. It’s not as easy with them than it was the first time around but we just have to try harder is all.”
“Okay,” you said. “I’m good with that. How was your first day?”
“Good. We did a lot of promotional stuff. I won’t start acting until next week. I heard you met Antony shopping today.”
“Yeah. I didn’t get a chance to tell you when I got home earlier. He seems like a nice guy.”
“He does. He invited us to dinner once we settle into a routine,” he said. “Apparently you two are shopping buddies now.”
“The man does know how to choose a dress.”
“Good thing I packed my lucky suit up here,” he said.
“Speaking of suits...you wouldn’t happen to have any of you in your Soldier Boy suit from today?”
“No spoilers,” he said with a smirk. You jutted out your lip and he rolled his eyes, taking out his phone. He tapped and slid it over to you, your eyes wide. You must have stared for a solid minute before you looked over at him, Jensen leaned back in his chair with his hands behind his head and a huge grin on his face. “You think I’m hot, don’t you.”
“Pft, no,” you said, biting your bottom lip before you licked it. He was still grinning out of the corner of your eye and you gave him the phone back. “Maybe...you’re kinda hot. But it’s totally the suit. Like right now, ugh, horrendous.”
“Nah, I’m hot,” he said, sticking out his stomach and rubbing it.
“I’m impressed you can actually do that,” you said.
“Everybody’s got a tummy,” he said. “Seriously though, you think the suit is cool?”
“It looks awesome. I’d love to see it in person,” you said.
“Oh you guys will be on set at some point,” he said. “I’m kinda nervous about next week.”
“Really? Why? You’re a great actor.”
“Have you ever seen a single thing I’ve done,” he chuckled.
“I did in fact see that horror movie on a date years ago. Something with like mining?” you asked.
“That’s what you saw? Like that movie? I hope the date worked out at least,” he said with a big smirk.
“Actually it was the crappy ex,” you said.
“Oh. You guys must have dated for a long time then.”
“Since we were seventeen,” you said. He stared and you shrugged. “I kept waiting for him to grow up and change. Eventually I realized he never would.”
“Did you love him?”
“I loved the idea of him. I liked him. I was with him for close to 12 years so I obviously liked him. But it wasn’t love. I could never be myself all the way around him and that’s not a way to live. There was none of that feeling when you first meet someone, you know?”
“Would I be pushing to ask if you ever thought about marrying the guy?”
“He did propose actually. A few times,” you said. “I turned him down. Things really went downhill from there though.”
“Why’d you say no?”
“I didn’t want to marry someone that made me feel bad about being me. Got tired of him telling me to get over everything that happened as a kid, dress a certain way, should I really have dessert, that kind of crap.”
“It’s part of who you are. I wouldn’t exactly call your past something to get over,” said Jensen. “Why would he even make you feel bad about it? You’re so normal.”
“I don’t think his daddy hugged him enough,” you said.
“No need to be a dick to other people for it,” he said. You smiled as you finished filling out the rest of the form for the class before sending it off. “Hey on the plus side I did get a good recommendation for daycare today. I was gonna check it out tomorrow morning, maybe get the twins in next week. Apparently they’re also hooked up with a school so JJ can go to school with some other American kids too instead of being stuck behind a screen here all day.”
“That’s great news. She can make some new friends that way. You know I was thinking maybe she could get signed up for indoor soccer. When I played the new season normally started right at the beginning of February.”
“Is it safe?” he asked. “I thought that could get pretty dangerous.”
“Adult leagues can be but kids her age it’s just running back and forth mostly. She could make some new friends, give her something fun to look forward to.”
“It’s not a bad idea. I would like her to be involved in something since she’s out of dance and soccer back home right now. I’ll talk it over with her in the morning,” he said. “She say something to you about it?”
“No. I just know what it’s like to be the new kid,” you said. “Soccer helped me make friends at school.”
“You and your mom move after your dad passed?” he asked.
“Uh, yeah. I was little so I don’t remember so much,” you said, an email coming in that your spot in the class was reserved. “Alright. Looks like I’m all set for eight on Saturday.”
“I’ll try not to keep you out too late on Friday night then,” he said.
“I never said that.”
“I like flirty you,” he said, both of you looking up at the ceiling when you heard a loud pair of giggles. “Duty calls. Goodnight, Y/N.”
“Goodnight Jensen.”

Bruh. I just read all your S/O x HQ boys. AND THEY'RE ALL AMAZING?? If your requests are open- may I ask for tsukki & others with a s/o who is clearly failing and how they would react to them having sleepless nights studying, constant anxiety about exams and crying? Thank you in advance 💖💖
Tumblr media
S/o failing classes
Tumblr media
A/n: is Atsumus more of a comfort one for myself? Yes. I swear I feel this request so badly, I hope you feel better now tho :( sorry I wanted to write one more BUT I’d be too much for my brain to handle without crying again, remembering the stress lol
And thank you sooo much !!! I’m glad that you enjoyed reading them!
Characters: Tsukki & Atsumu
Tumblr media
Tsukki
After you didn’t respond to his last 10 messages, he got worried
Normally you at least reply and tell him that you can’t talk right now
So he‘s doing the best thing he could do - going straight to your home
Here he is, leaning against your doorframe, looking at the mess in front of him
You haven’t seen him by now, too occupied with crying your heart out & throwing papers around you
“I can’t do this- why have I ever thought I could make it ?! Why have I ever thought I could be as smart as he is?!”
You break down and he finally finds his way over to you, carful kneeling down next to you and putting his hand on your shoulder
You flinch at the sudden touch
“Tsukki, why…” you stutter
“It doesn’t matter come here.” He says and pulls you against his chest, wrapping his arms around you
He really doesn’t know what to say, his teasing sarcastic comments aren’t right now, but since he doesn’t know what to say to you he decides to hold you and hopefully show that he’s here for you
Looking around he sees all the paperwork is about your current studies
“Want me to help you with this?” He asks when you finally calm down
“No, It doesn’t matter anymore. The test is next week and I’m failing the class”
“No, I’m sure you won’t, you still got a week left.”
“A week to understand all the things taught in half a year - yes as if” you roll your eyes
“Well is that a challenge?” He smirks
“You’d waste your time trying.” You sink down on the floor and look up to the ceiling
“Wellll true you’re too stupid to understand -insert wrong sentence about the topic-“
“It’s - right sentence-“
“See. Only 99% left and we only been doing this for a second.” He smirks as you shoot up and stare at his face
“You’re too stressed and your head is way too full, you know most of it - you simply can’t focus enough to remember.” He smiles gently and cups your face , rubbing his fingers over your tear stained cheeks
“You should have told me sooner though - I told you i’m always here to help you.”
“But you’ve been busy and-“
“And you’ve been lacking sleep and overworking yourself.”
“I can’t catch up on everything though.” Your eyes start to tear up again, thinking about all the other things you need to study for too
“So what? You take the class again. A year more or less isn’t as important as your mental health.”
“But-“
“No buts - let’s go and get something to eat”
“I can’t I need to study.”
“YOU AND I will study tomorrow. Now you need to think about something else first and clear your mind. you won’t be able to learn anything else otherwise.”
He gets up and pulls you with him, walking out of the door
Later that night after you two came back home, you immediately fell asleep the second your head touched your pillows.
Tsukki stayed up all night, preparing small cards to help you study tomorrow, so you at least won’t fail this one test. He really doesn’t care if you fail your classes, it’s stressful af - but he doesn’t want you to think badly of yourself. He knows you can do it, he just has to prove it to you.
Tumblr media
Atsumu
3am
The front door of yours and Atsumu’s apartment opens
Quietly Atsumu tiptoes inside, trying not to wake you up
“Hey babe.” You call out
“Hey love - wait ?? It’s 3am why are you awake?” He walks over to your voice, finding you sitting on the dining table on your laptop
“Got to finish this assignment.” You sigh
“Love. You need sleep.”
“Says the one that’s been out training for hours.”
Dropping his gym back, Atsumu walks around the table sitting next to you
“Haven’t you finished all the tests for this semester tho? I feel like you’ve been studying for the past 6 months.” He looks at you worried
“Yeah, but I failed my tests … so my profs gave me the chance to not fail all my classes … with all those essays.” You sigh and drop your head on Atsumu’s shoulder
“But you need a break love … you’re under constant stress … you’re on your holidays rn …”
“Babe… we’re both working too much.” You laugh
“Yeah… but it’s enough that I am like that ..” he scratched his head
“I just want to finish university and get a job already … i’m getting older and older.” You sigh
“Y/n. You know you don’t have to worry about the money.” He turns around to look into your eyes
“Atsumu. I want to earn my own money. I want to save up for the future and get you and my friends nice presents … I don’t want to only relay on you”
“You know that I don’t care? We habe enough money for you to not stress yourself over failing a class and studying a bit longer.” He cups your cheek but you move away from his touch
“Well yeah. But how do you think I feel?!” You snap
“How do you think I feel? Failing my classes, failing to become the person I plan on becoming? Archiving my dream and becoming the bad independent bitch? But I fail. And whenever I look at you I see you living your dream.”
Tears start to well up in your eyes
“I feel like a failure whenever I look at you. I don’t want you money nor your gifts.”
Atsumu‘s heart starts to break more abs more the more you talk.
“I want us both to be THAT couple…. You know ? That one couple … where we both have our carrier, support each other, aren’t dependent on one another - financially.”
Tears stream down your face while you see the future you always wanted in front of your eyes
But you failed. You failed miserably.
“You’re putting too much pressure on yourself.” He gently takes your hand in his
“Yes I know - but that doesn’t mean that I can’t archive it.” You hiss
“Yeah, but archiving it a year or two later is still archiving your dreams. I love how ambitious you are … and that you got goals. But my love- you’re crying at least once a week due to all the pressure.”
“ I can handle it.” You look away.
“But I can’t. I can’t handle coming home after training way too long, just to see you overworking yourself even more than I do.”
Looking at him through your lashes you bite your lower lip
“Love I can’t just sit here and watch you running towards a burnout.” He lifts up your chin
Your head races, you know he’s a right but you can’t just admit that
“Together.” You mumble
“Huh?”
“Together. Let’s make a deal to be home / done with studying at 11pm and spend the rest of the day relaxing together.” You look up into his eyes
A gentle smile spreads on his lips and he places his forehead against yours
“Deal”

Hello ! Could you do a harry × hufflepuff!reader with the promps 6 ans 14 ? Thank you !😊😊
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi! Sorry if it’s a bit long... This was the first request I got off anon, lmao
ENJOY!!
Prompts used:
6. 'Don't make me hex you into the next year! ' 'I'd like to see you try.'        14. ‘My Ammortentia smells like you...’
Strawberries: Harry Potter X Hufflepuff!Reader
It was just another day in Slughorn’s Potions class, you stirring your cauldron while daydreaming.
‘Who do you think yours will smell like?’ asked Luna. ‘I feel mine is going to be a Crumple-Horned Snorcack.’
You stuffed your knuckles into your mouth to prevent yourself from giggling. ‘I, um, don’t know.’
‘What do you smell? I know it’s weird... for you, having a soulmate or whatever.’
See, that was one of the things you adored about Luna.
You couldn’t possibly keep a secret around her, somehow, she just knew. But it also allowed you to seek her consolation at times without having to embarrass yourself by telling her what it was.
Why?
Well, she was Luna Lovegood after all.
You were one of the best potion students, and were fairly good at all your other classes, Luna and Cho kept asking you why you weren’t a Ravenclaw.
You just hoped your Potion skills could help you find out who you were meant to be with...
You swallowed, snapping out of your daze. ‘Uhm, yeah, not sure. Hope it’s someone nice.’
‘That’s sweet.’ Luna remarked in her same, breathless voice.
You smiled.
‘Alright, now, time’s up.’ Slughorn clapped his hands together. ‘Who wants to share what their Ammortentia smells like? Miss Diggory?’
You cursed internally. ‘Yes, Professor.’
You took a sniff. ‘Sir, it’s, um, treacle tart, um.... pumpkin juice? Yes, and...’
You sniffed again.
‘... muddy grass?’ You spoke.
‘Very good, miss Diggory!’
‘What was it?’ Luna asked as you left. ‘The muddy grass?’
‘Can you stop doing that?’ you joked. ‘It’s freaky.’
‘Don’t change the subject Y/N.’
You sighed. ‘It smelled like, I dunno like quidditch robes or something. Maybe it’s a sporty guy.’ You mumbled.
You didn’t have to specify who, it was Luna.
‘How do you know what boys’ quidditch robes smell like?’ Luna questioned as you whacked her with your book.
-----------
You traced shapeless patterns on the grass, softly caressing your yellow scarf with your other hand.
It was a scarf you were very proud of.
Your brother had given it to you, and it was the last thing he ever did give you, to be completely honest...
Your tiny ‘revisit’ was interrupted by a sneer behind you.
‘Hey Diggory, who did your potion smell like?’ Malfoy asked in his horrible, drawling voice. ‘Longbottom?’
‘I seriously don’t understand what you’ve got against Neville.’ You spoke. ‘And no, if you must know. It smelt like someone else.’
‘Bet it was a grave.’ Malfoy sniggered. ‘Oh, where’s your brother?’
You tensed up immediately, but stroked your scarf to calm down.
‘Patience is one of the most important qualities a true Hufflepuff should possess,’ Cedric had told you. ‘And you, Y/N/N, are one of the best Hufflepuffs I know.’
‘Where is he?’ Malfoy continued.
‘Shut up.’ You spoke through gritted teeth.
‘It’d be nice if he’d passed some of his qualities onto you.’ Pansy lazily called. ‘At least he was good-looking. Look at you, bag of pickled toads.’
‘Shut up, prat.’ You warned.
‘Blimey Diggory... is your brother dead?’ Malfoy asked. ‘I didn’t even notice...’
That was the last straw.
Oh, fuck patience.’ You muttered under your breath, lunging at him.
‘Argh!’ Malfoy groaned as you socked him square in the stomach. ‘Geroff me, you lunatic!’
‘What’s going on?’ Harry, Ron and Hermione had approached you.
Understanding the situation, Ron and Harry both seized either arm of yours while Hermione ripped Draco off of you before both of you could hex each other too badly.
‘Get-off-me!’ you snarled in Harry’s face.
‘No.’
‘GET-OFF-STUPID-PRAT-’ you struggled against his firm grasp. ‘IDIOT-CEDRIC-NOT-FUNNY-’
‘What exactly are you trying to say?’ Hermione asked, confused.
‘Shut up Granger, I don’t want to talk about this.’ You spat, snatching your bag up and ‘accidentally’ whacking Harry with it, before leaving.
-----------
‘What happened?’ your friend, Hannah had asked when you had stormed into the common room.
‘Malfoy.’ You curtly answered. ‘And Potter.’
‘You know, I don’t see why you hate him so much.’ Ernie walked up.
‘Who doesn’t hate Malfoy?’
‘No, no, I meant Harry.’ He spoke.
You groaned.
This was a subject they’d brought up millions of times.
‘He is a prat, for one.’ You began. ‘He’s so bloody proud... all the teachers fawning over him, Slughorn calling him ‘special’, heck, even Snape would be happy now that he’s suddenly become excellent at Potions. I reckon he cheats off Granger.’
‘Nah, Hermione isn’t like that.’ Hannah said.
‘And he is thick-headed.’ You finished.
‘Oh, is that it?’ Ernie smirked. ‘You’re jealous of him?’
‘OI!’
-----------
‘Good morning.’ Professor McGonagall crisply greeted. ‘In the five years you’ve been with me, you have learnt that Transfiguration is not a topic to be messed around with. And as you start your sixth year, I expect you all to behave more mature with this subject, especially you, Mr. Smith.’
Zacharias Smith scowled at her.
‘Now.’ She continued. ‘Who remembers what I had told you all at the beginning of your first year at Hogwarts? Miss Diggory?’
‘Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts,’ you recited, trying to imitate her voice. ‘Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned.’
The class howled with laughter.
‘Charming, Miss Diggory.’ Professor McGonagall sarcastically remarked, but you could’ve sworn you saw the corner of her lips twitch.
You grinned to yourself.
‘Now, as Miss Diggory said.’ She spoke. ‘There will be no messing around. I demand silence as I declare... the Gryffindors shall be joining us today.’
You knew by ‘silence’ she meant your groans.
You stuffed your handkerchief into your mouth before groaning quietly.
The red-scarved students made their way in.
McGonagall began assigning partners.
‘Weasley with Macmillan, Brown with Smith, Granger with Abbott and Potter... with Diggory.’
‘Not with him!’ you yelled at the same time as Harry yelled ‘Not with her!’
‘Yes, definitely together.’ The Professor mumbled.
You scoffed as Harry sat next to you, both of you glaring daggers at each other.
‘Look, I don’t want to fail this subject.’ You warned. ‘My career depends on it, so will you try to act civil?’
‘Yeah, I’ll try.’ Harry sneered. ‘Do you even have a career plan?’
‘For your information!’ you hotly began. ‘I do. I want to become an Auror.’
‘Auror?’ a small flicker of interest flashed in his eyes but vanished as you rolled your eyes and turned to your work.
Harry sniffled.
He paused, terror rising up inside him.
He croaked out. ‘Do you... can you smell strawberries? And vanilla?’
‘Oh.’ You frowned. ‘Um, yeah, the strawberries would be my shampoo and... the vanilla would be my lotion, why?’
‘No reason.’
---------
‘Oh, merlin’s arse.’ You muttered, trying to get past a horde of boys wanting to ask you to Slughorn’s Party.
You knew they didn’t like you; they just wanted an excuse to attend it.
‘FOR THE LAST TIME, SOD OFF!’ you yelled, shoving past.
They still followed you.
You ran to the library, where you met a certain Chosen One.
‘Don’t mind me.’ You huffed. ‘Please, I’ll do anything, just don’t tell them I’m here!’
Harry opened his mouth to say that it was alright, but stopped as a smirk settled on his face.
‘No.’
‘What?’ you asked. ‘Merlin’s arse, please! I told you, I’ll do anything!’
‘Anything?’ he cheekily asked.
‘Anything.’
‘Hmm... let’s see.’ Harry smirked further, thoroughly enjoying himself.
'Don't make me hex you into the next year!' you warned.
'I'd like to see you try.'
Brandishing your wand, you tried thinking of a jinx while Harry stood there with an amused expression on his face.
‘I’ll tell them you’re here.’ He said lazily.
‘Oh, alright!’ you snapped. ‘You win, I’ll give you whatever you want, now let me hide!’
‘Promise?’
‘Promise, MOVE!’
You dove behind a shelf and stayed.
Meanwhile, Harry was having the time of his life.
He wasn’t going to rat you out to those guys anyway, but there was something on his mind and he couldn’t pass up the perfect opportunity.
As a stampede of boys rushed over, Harry realised why you were so desperate to hide.
‘She’s not here.’ He coolly spoke. ‘Try the Hall.’
‘How should we know you’re not helping her hide?’ a Ravenclaw demanded.
‘Have you met me?’ Harry sarcastically said. ‘I don’t help my enemies.’
Yes, as lame as it had sounded, they seemed to buy it.
‘I don’t help my enemies?’ you questioned, climbing out of the shelf.
‘It... it sounded cooler in my head.’ Harry muttered.
You supressed a giggle. ‘Well, O’ Chosen One, what can I do for you?’
‘Er, about that.’ Harry began. ‘I wanna ask you something first?’
‘Yes?’
He smirked again. ‘Do you actually have a date?’
You covered your face and groaned. ‘No, they don’t even like me, they just want to get out of detention or come to the party, most of them.’
‘Mmhmm.’ Harry said distractedly.
‘Do you have a date?’ you shot back.
‘I will, by the end of this hour.’ Harry nonchalantly replied.
‘Whatever.’ You huffed. ‘What do you want.’
‘Be my date for Slughorn’s Party.’
If you had been drinking water, you were sure you would’ve spit it out.
You opened and closed your mouth like a goldfish.
‘What?!’ you finally sputtered.
‘Be my date for Slughorn’s Party.’ He repeated.
‘No.’ you stated. ‘No, no, no way, no.’
‘You promised!’
‘WHY DO YOU WANT TO TAKE ME?’ you yelled. ‘Take Ginny Weasley or Cho or something.’
‘But I want to take you.’ He said.
‘Why?!’
‘Our deal did not include so many questions.’ Harry cut off. ‘You’re coming, that’s final.’
‘Oh, well, fine!’ you snarled, stomping off.
Damn your loyal arse.
----------
‘I look ridiculous.’ You remarked, looking in the mirror.
‘Nonsense, you look amazing!’ Hannah squealed. ‘I’m so jealous, I wish I could go too.’
‘Yeah, yeah.’ You muttered.
You were wearing a(n) F/C dress, complete with your H/C hair falling elegantly onto your shoulders.
‘Oh, I forgot to ask.’ Hannah spoke, ‘Who’s your date?’
‘You do not want to know the answer to that question.’ You said. ‘Believe me.’
Hannah shrugged. ‘You look hot! Have fun!’
You walked in the direction of the Gryffindor common room, waiting for your ‘date’ to come along.
‘Hurry up, Potter.’ You muttered.
As if on cue, a voice sounded behind you.
‘Someone say my name, Diggory?’
There he stood, in all his glory, Harry Potter, the Boy With a Large Smirk Plastered Across His Face.
‘Can you not do that?’ you whined.
‘What?’
‘That weird face.’ You spoke. ‘It’s annoying.’
‘My apologies. Shall we, m’lady?’ he offered you his arm in mock-kindness.
‘Of course.’ You played along, taking it.
‘Where is this positive energy when you threaten to break my arms almost ten
times a day?’ he quizzed in amusement.
‘Shut up.’
---------
Boring.
That’s how you were feeling.
You desperately wished you hadn’t agreed to come to this stupid party.
Harry seemed to notice your gloomy mood.
‘What’s wrong?’ he whispered.
‘Look at this.’ You muttered in disgust. ‘Look at all of them, sapping over each other when they barely know the other.’
He laughed. ‘Wanna slip out?’
‘Where are we going to go?!’ you asked in exasperation.
‘I know somewhere.’
---------
‘The Astronomy Tower?’ you questioned.
‘I like coming here when I’m bored.’ Harry shrugged. ‘Looking at the stars calms me.’
You nodded, understanding.
‘Let’s... sit.’
You sat down as Harry copied you, settling down next to you.
‘This is nice.’ You remarked.
‘What is?’
‘Not having to fight with you.’ You explained as Harry laughed.
‘Maybe we just assume too much.’ He suggested, causing you to giggle.
It was a sound pleasant to Harry’s ears, and for some reason, he wanted to hear it again.
‘I never asked.’ He began. ‘And I’m sorry. How have you been, er, holding up?’
He didn’t need to explain, you understood.
‘I’m fine.’ You answered. ‘I do miss him, awfully so, but... nothing’s changed much.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘I mean that it’s still the same.’ You explained. ‘Nobody comforts me. Nobody knows me as Y/N Diggory, my best friend or Y/N Diggory, the girl from Hufflepuff, none of that. I was always Y/N Diggory, Cedric Diggory’s stupid younger sister. And now I’m Y/N Diggory, the late Cedric Diggory’s mourning sister.’
‘Oh. That’s... well, at least you’ve got your parents.’ Harry mumbled.
You let out a mirthless laugh. ‘I’d trade places with you, then. See, it’s the same at home. I’m just... an extra waste of space. Even mum and dad preferred Cedric. I’m the useless one, you see. Next to their beautiful son Cedric, I was always second best. Y/N. Their second-born. The less talented one. The stupid one. The non-attractive one.’
Your voice cracked a bit at the end, but you composed yourself. ‘I’m being thick, you probably think I’m stupid.’
‘I don’t think you’re stupid.’ Harry muttered. ‘How come you never cry? Like Cho, I mean.’
‘Because I don’t want to appear weak for him.’ You sighed. ‘You see, as much everyone preferred Cedric over me, I still loved him. I loved him quite a lot, actually. He hated it when I cried. I remember once when we were young, Cedric fell out of a tree and hurt his leg so badly, I started crying because of how bad it looked. He didn’t have any of it. He always told me, ‘Whatever happens, Y/N/N, don’t cry. You’re strong. You’re tough. And I can’t bear seeing you in tears. If and when a day comes where you cry because of me, I swear I will never forgive myself.’ And there he was such an idiot. Put his name in the Goblet. Went along and got murdered by Voldemort, didn’t he?’
Harry didn’t speak, so you continued.
‘I just wonder.’ You whispered. ‘You know, if he’s watching us this very moment. Somewhere from up there.’
You gestured to the stars.
Your head was turned towards the sky, but Harry couldn’t stop staring at you.
‘And so I know.’ You said, ‘I know if I cry, he’s up there somewhere, feeling disappointed in me. I don’t need anymore of that. I’ve had enough of ‘Diggory’s sister Y/N’ and ‘The ugly one’ or ‘the useless one’ it’s maddening.’
‘I don’t think you’re useless.’ Harry whispered. ‘Nor ugly. And you always were Y/N Diggory to me.’
‘That’s a bit consoling.’ You mustered a weak smile. ‘Thanks.’
At that moment, a familiar smell made it’s way to your nose and you gasped.
‘Your hair.’ You shakily whispered. ‘It... it smells like fresh, muddy grass.’
‘Oh.’ Harry flushed. ‘Er, yeah, sorry, I had Quidditch earlier this evening.’
‘Oh my god.’ You muttered. ‘No way.’
‘What?’
‘If I tell you something, Potter.’ You began. ‘Don’t make fun of me.’
‘I would never.’
You swallowed. ‘I think...My Ammortentia smells like you...’
Harry didn’t speak.
‘Go ahead, laugh.’ You muttered, trying your best not to cry then and there. ‘Run away. Hex me or something.’
Harry couldn’t think straight.
Your delicious scent was ever-so inviting, the strawberries fresh in your newly shampooed hair.
His gaze kept unwillingly flickering to your soft-looking lips, covered in a light tint of cherry lip-gloss.
As the lips he was looking at pressed themselves into a think# line, his gaze shifted towards the rest of your face, and to his horror, you were crying.
‘No, no, no, no!’ he said quickly.
‘What?’ you hiccoughed a little, ‘Go ahead, call me names or just leave.’
‘No, Y/N!’ he pressed. ‘Don’t cry, no please. I didn’t mean... no, I was just thinking. I think my Ammortentia smelt like you too.’
You let out a tiny gasp.
Neither of you knew what you were doing, somehow, your lips had messily collided and were now moving in sync.
You brought out a hand and tangled it into Harry’s untameable hair as he softly caressed your cheek.
Both of you parted, lips swollen, gasping for breath.
‘Well...’ he began. ‘That was unexpected.’

You should already be used to hear it, but every time Atsumu let out a booming laugh you couldn’t help staring at him with dreamy eyes.
“Oi, Y/N!  Are you even listening to me?” his hazel eyes open, looking at you playfully.
“Yes, I’m hearing you, and no, it wasn’t as funny as you think” he frowns, pushing you from your chair almost making you fall if it wasn’t for his quick grip on your forearm, “You asshole!”
“Why so harsh on me today, sweetheart?”
Yo feel your stomach twist at the nickname, making Atsumu smile at the way your cheeks get a dark red.
“Because you were a total dick with those poor girls” he sighs, tired, stretching his arms behind his head, “You could’ve been nicer, you know?”
Biting your lip, you remember the teary eyes of those girls as they ran away sobbing after they had told him their love confession. Would you have the same luck if- No, no way you had a crush on him.
“They have a crush just on my looks, it’s annoying”, he spits, “Why do you care so much anyways?”
“I…-” he looks at you with curiosity as you carefully think your words, “-I guess I would feel horrible if I were them and confessed”
“Don’t tell me you have a crush on someone Y/N”
“Of course not, all of you ,men, are idiots”, he place his hand on his chest with a wounded look, making your eyes roll, a smile tickling your lips, “Now, hurry with your homework, you’re stealing my lunch time”
He reaches for his bag, taking out his lunch box to hand you the extra Onigiri he had. You smile fondly even if it is not the first time he brings you food during your study sessions.
He was your best friend, yet his gestures never failed to dazzle you.... Maybe you do have a crush on him.
 ///
You enter the gym with a tired look, a yawn slips pass your lips before sitting on the bleachers, you plug your earbuds and take out an unfinished assignment from your bag. The second years wave at you, Atsumu sticking his tongue out, you wave back before locking eyes with him and returning the gesture, making the setter grin.
The next time you lift your eyes from your work, you open them wide before taking off your earbuds to listen to the scene in front of you.
A girl wearing the team’s jacket enter the gym alongside the captain, making it feel as if the time stop. The team look at them in surprise as she bows.
“I’m eager to be your new manager! I used to play but-” she points at her wrist with a shy smile,” I got pretty bad injured so I hope I can be helpful here”, you advert Atsumu’s gaze, making your heart flinch a little.
“I’m Miya Atsumu, setter, I haven’t see ya around before” the girl looks at him with an eager look, leaning closer, a happy smile on her face as Atsumu stands still, the smirk on his face fades as she erases the gap between them. ‘The hell is she doing?’
“Oh, I know you! The star setter, guess what they say about you is truth-”, you wait for the usual compliments girls told him all the time, your lips curve up a little remembering Atsumu’s usual reaction at them, “-your serves are truly monstrous, your technique is impeccable”
His eyes glimmer with curiosity and you notice the light blush on his cheeks as he gives her his best smile. In all the years you’ve known him, you’ve seen him flirting with girls, hooking up with one before getting another, but this…this was different.
You stand up before properly thinking what you are doing. You haven’t felt jealous before and you didn’t have the right for it, but an overwhelming despair sets the pace of your feet as they move towards them.
“I used to be a setter myself but-“
“Hey, Tsumu, see you after practice to finish our chemistry homework?” you peek your head between them, making the girl take a few steps back, a surprise look on her face. Atsumu looks at your innocent smile and blinks.
“Y/N, I told you not to call me that in practice-” he whispers to you, hiding it with a few coughs, “Uhmm, sure” the couch calls them and he waves at you before jogging off with the new manager to line up with the rest.
Your eyes linger on them a few more seconds, he laughs with her, making you furrow your eyebrows together, noticing just now, how beautiful she was.
///
“You still look like crap”
“Shut up, Samu!
You stand between the twins near the main door of the cafeteria, watching Atsumu run his hand through his hair multiple times as he stares at his reflection on one of the windows ‘All that… for her?’
A voice that comes from behind you, makes Atsumu look over your shoulder with a nervousness you haven’t seen before.
“Tsum Tsum!”
He gasps at the sight of her, the short dress she is wearing frames her figure perfectly, and you can’t help to look at your own clothes wondering if you couldn’t have dressed more casually.
You remain silent as she reaches for his hair and ruffles it friendly, the display in front of you feels surreal, suddenly your limbs are numb and your eyes can’t seem to drift away from Atsumu’s happy smile as he grabs her wrist to kiss her hand.
“You look stunning”
“What a gentleman – Oh, hey ‘Samu and-“
“Y/N” the words come sharper than you intended, the girl just let out an innocent giggle
“I’m so sorry! I don’t get to see you a lot in school, you’re in the advanced classes, right?”
“Y/N is a genius, they wouldn’t allow me to play if it wasn’t for her”, Atsumu says pointing at you with pride while his other hand rests on the small of her back guiding her to your table. A lump forms on your throat, making it impossible for you to reply, you  manage to pull an empty smile.
On the table you are silent as ever, nodding at all the conversations the second years try to include you in. Your mind is already far away, wondering all the possibilities that could happen if you were brave enough to confess right there, right now, but the sight in front of you snaps you to reality again.
Atsumu lips gets stained by some red sauce and before you can point it out, she licks her thumb before pressing it on his lips. His cheeks turn bright red and his jaw slightly slacks open.
“How is that you aren’t already dating? It’s been almost three months since you are all over each other” Suna casually says
Three months indeed, and she entered more and more in their small circle. But how could you stop it when she was just…so lovely?
Atsumu stayed until much later in practice but still you chatted together. Late night texts, becoming in late night calls to check up on each other.
‘I want to ask her out. Fuck, I want her so badly, but what if she rejects me, Y/N!’
‘Tsumu, you’re Japan’s top high school setter. Believe me, she won’t reject you’
Now you want to hit your head against the nearest wall, remembering your stupid words.
“Would you say yes if I ask you out?”
“I would say yes to more than that” the table falls dead silent at her words as if they waited for the next scene of a movie.
Suddenly Atsumu press his lips against hers with ferocity, she pulls the collar of his shirt, deepening the already heated kiss. You almost choke on your water, earning a concern look from Kita, you find yourself standing up violently before rushing to the restroom.
You close the door behind you before looking at yourself in the mirror, ‘I could have never competed with her’. You bite your lip, and shut your eyes tightly, your hands grasping both sides of the sink, you let your head fall forwards, eyes fixed on the white of the porcelain as they water.
“Y/N, are you okay?” you stiffen at the soft female voice coming from the other side of the door, “Do you need help?”, you let out an humorless laugh. ‘A sweetheart with everyone, huh?’
“I-I don’t feel good, it’ll better if I head home. Please tell the others, I had an emergency or something” your throat feels extremely dry all of sudden and your voice comes out shaky.
“Oh! I can take you home-“
“I’ll rather go alone! I don’t know if I’m sick and I’d hate to…infect you. Thank you, tho”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes”
“Okay…text me when you get home!”
When you hear the footsteps fading away, you wait a few more minutes to walk out the restroom, just to find Atsumu talking cheerfully, his eyes filled with adoration for her. He didn’t even look at your direction as you left the cafeteria, and in that very moment you realized he would never look at you that way.
 ///
“Where is Y/N, I haven’t seen her in years?”
“I think she is tutoring some first years”
“Oh” Atsumu finds himself looking at your usual spot on the bleachers, he barely got to see or talk to you in the recent weeks.
You’ve been missing his calls on purpose. Since that dinner, you had to put all your energy to smile at him when he waved at you in the corridors as he held her hand. It had been almost a month of hearing him talking about how gracious she was and weeks of looking how they made out on the couch in the end of the library or against one of the gym’s walls.
You thought that if you put distance with him, you’ll manage to get over that soreness that felt heavy on your chest each time she made him laugh. But no matter how many extra classes you took or how many first years you tutored, your mind always came back to Inarizaki’s setter.
The sky was dark by the time you finished tutoring the last first year, he bowed at you and you gave him a brief smile before locking the classroom. You handled the keys to your teacher and walked out of the building.
The cold wind hit your face, making you shiver, you search for your jacket in your bag, finding only a scarf. Atsumu gave it to you. You haven’t used it in a while now, but the cold was too much to bear with for your thin uniform. You place the material carefully around your neck, caressing the fabric begore sighing, watching your breath fading into the air and start walking.
“Oi” his voice makes you turn instantly, and you catch him jogging to you, “It’s fucking cold out here!- Uh, you still have it?” he points at your neck with a cheeky grin.
Atsumu looks extremely handsome like this, a little pink on his nose and cheeks and the few lights highlight the hazel of his eyes. It makes you gulp before replying.
“Of course, I do. It was my first two-digit birthday!”, he laughs remembering the chaos you both made by that age, you smile a little before looking at him with concern, “What are you still doing here? Something happened?”
“No! I-I just wanted to walk home with you, like we used to” he looks at the ground and sighs, “I know you’re busy, but I missed ya” the words make your heart warm even when you can’t stop shivering, “You are freezing” he takes his volleyball jacket and place it over your shoulders
“No, I’m fine, really. You should-”
“Stubborn as always. What am I supposed to do with your freeze corpse?”, you huff, putting the jacket on as he starts walking.
“What about your girlfriend?”
“She already left, don’t worry she knows you’re my best friend, she won’t act bitchy at you” you just nod and start walking alongside the setter, not caring about the sting that ypu just felt in your heart.
The walk is long and awkward, Atsumu finally getting hit by the way your friendship had changed. Your brief answers and forced smiles make him more and more annoyed, becoming more silent with each minute.
You didn’t have the energy to keep up with his drollery, each time you looked at him you just felt the urge to be held by him and tell him the painful truth: You didn’t have a crush on him. No.  You loved him.
“What is wrong with you?” he says, suddenly stopping.
“Excuse me- “
“If you don’t want to be friends with me anymore, just say it! Jesus!”, his exasperated tone makes your eyes narrow, “-But don’t have me fooling around, worrying about you for almost a month” your mouth twitches downwards as you realize your indifference had hit a spot on his pride.
For a solid minute you don’t hear anything, you just stare at him with a flood of thoughts rushing through your head until you manage to pull one of them out into a dry whisper.
“We shouldn’t be friends anymore- “his clenched fists loosen, and he watches your lips carefully, “I can’t do it anymore – thought I could but…is too much”,
The crack of your voice makes you stop for second, giving you time to gain a little bit more of air before feeling again as if you were drowning.
“I can’t be friends with you anymore, because I want you!… The worst part is that she is so FUCKING perfect!” your arms move in the air letting out all the feelings you had bottled up.
“I thought I could brush away the feeling, but I realize – I  love you, Atsumu” his mouth opens slightly not able to produce a sound as your arms fall to your sides, a tear streaming down your cheek.
You take his jacket off, the cold air embracing your body, but you can’t care less. He motions to you, but you lift your hand, stopping him.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Would it have changed anything?” his silence tells you all you needed, making your heart clench, “That – That’s what I though…It’s okay, really. I wouldn’t choose me either” your breath becomes irregular and you bite your lip, capturing a sob, “This is my fault, falling in love with you…If being friends makes you happy, I-I will do my best to be your friend, then”
Atsumu was usually selfish with the things he wanted and proud about the things he made but seeing you there, shivering with red eyes and swollen lips, made his heart ache.
And he couldn’t be less proud about the things he was about to say.
“You were right before. We shouldn’t be friends anymore. I do not want to deal with you being in love with me and my girlfriend”, you hiccup, fixing your sore eyes on his, “You made things so fucking complicated, it’s better to end this now”, he hiss, gritting his teeth, waiting for you to storm out.
But when he feels your cold lips on his cheek, he bites his bottom lip harshly.
“Sorry, I never meant-”, ‘To fall for you’, it takes all his will power to not envelope you in his arms, so he only turns his face away, hearing your sobs. He loved you but not the way you did. “-to mess us up”
You walk away quickly, tears running down your cheeks as you press your hand firmly against your lips, drowning the uncontrollable sobs. Atsumu stands there watching you disappear into the coldness of the night, shutting his eyes tightly, understanding, he had lost his best friend.

Found you
Oikawa Tooru x gn!reader
Summary: you fell in love with him at the wrong time, slight enemies to lovers trope
Warnings: angst (disappointed but not surprised)
Word count: 1909
a/n: sorry I’m a sucker for pain and I’ve been CRAVING unrequited-love-kinda-heartbreak for the past week so yeah sorry again. Also I just finished reading the song of Achilles and didn’t cry so I NEED this
———————————————————————
You first thought he was an asshole. Always wanting to be the center of attention, being the teacher’s pet but talking shit about them as soon as they turned around to continue with the lesson. He was the typical perfect boy who everyone loved, so sweet, so polite, so talented. Or so they thought.
You changed school during your third year of high school and started going to the same one as your childhood friend, Aoba Jōsai High. Kyōtani (aka mad dog) wanted to join the volleyball team but didn’t want to go alone ‘cause he knew he’d screw it up and go back to training by himself. So, you offered yourself to go with him and apply for the manager position. Boy was that the worst choice you’d ever made. Not only did you have to spend lots of time (worth of studying) in that stupid gym but you also had to deal with their self centered captain. The first thing he said to you was “hey cutie where’s my hug at” (a/n: I’m so sorry but he would) you wanted so badly to punch him in the face, but you knew better so you just rolled your eyes and ignored him.
He kept flirting with you every now and then but he grew tired of your indifference pretty quick and started behaving like the spoiled child he was. He’d argue with you during practice over some stupid shit or blame you for having given him really cold water to drink during the last match on purpose just to make his throat sore and sabotage his performance. You were petty and didn’t let him off with this behavior so easily, you’d point out every wrong answer he gave during class just to piss him off or boo him every time he’d miss a serve.
The team seemed to find your relationship with Tooru entertaining. They’d make bets without the two of you knowing, wondering who’d win the next argument or how long it would take you to punch their captain in the face.
After a few months as the team manager you grew closer to the boys and started to listen to their personal problems, giving them the best advice you could think of in order to help them out. They became your friends. Even Oikawa came to you every once in a while to ask for your opinion on some ugly outfit he was thinking of wearing to some party, only to then clarify that he was asking you so he’d do the opposite of what you’d said.
Eventually the bickering ceased and you two started to get along, greeting each other when you crossed in the hallways and making small talk when you were the only ones left in the gym. That last one happened very often. Oikawa was known not only for his good looks and popularity but also for his hard work and volleyball skills. You’d seen him staying at the gym practicing until god knows what hours of the night, Iwaizumi always being the one trying to get him to stop but failing.
One night it was just the three of you, you were about to leave when the two boys started screaming at each other. You’d seen this exact same scene before, Iwa begging him to stop and Tooru yelling at him for not being a good friend and support him. But this time it was different, Iwa was tired of this and didn’t know how to help his stubborn best friend so he exploded.
“ You are a stupid, selfish asshole ” were the words that left the boy’s mouth “ You’re so blinded by your goals that you don’t realize how bad the people who love you are suffering. All because of you and your stupid need for perfection. And I’m tired of this shit”
After that he left the gym and headed home, leaving you alone with Oikawa. The boy seemed to ignore your presence as well as his friend’s words and continued with his practice. He served over and over again, running out of breath with every hit. You didn’t really understand what the big deal was, why he would overwork himself or why Iwa was so mad at him.
“Hey, shittykawa ” you called, expecting him to ignore you. He turned around, volley ball in hand and nodded his head at you.
“What? You gonna yell at me too?”
“No, actually I just wanted to ask you what is going on. I’m still new to this whole manager thing but I’m pretty sure part of my work is to make sure you guys’ heads are working all right, and yours seems to be a bit fucked up ” it wasn’t until the words left your mouth that you realized what you had said. You looked up at him and waited for the argument to start. Again, you were surprised.
“I know, I can act like an idiot when I’m hating myself” his answer was meant to be sarcastic but his face said otherwise.
That day something changed between you two. You sat in the middle of the court and Oikawa opened up to you. He told you about his dreams and goals and how close he had gotten to achieving them, only to have them snatched away because of some mistake he had made. Kyōtani had told you about the match against this Karasuno team and how the lost had affected them, but you felt there was something he wasn’t telling you. Now you understood. Oikawa blamed himself for it. And that wasn’t all, he also talked about the amount of stress and pressure he had put himself under and how tired he was of giving it all only to be beaten by more talented people. You watched him cry and throw balls at the wall, screaming about some first year student who was a better setter than him even though he had worked ten times harder. He was mad, furious but also exhausted. You didn’t really know what to say so all you did was listen to him. Once he had calmed down he apologized for his behavior and walked you home.
That night you couldn’t sleep. You hadn’t expected to see that side of him, you hadn’t even considered that maybe that annoying egotistical self was just his shield, a mask. Ever since that night you started being nicer to him, asking him how his day was going, if he had drank enough water, etc. You were becoming friends.
It wasn’t long until Oikawa’s fans started rumors about the two of you being a couple, the team would make fun of him but he’d just brush it off and deny it. He was Oikawa Tooru, the great king, he couldn’t date someone like you. That’s the lies he’d tell himself but the truth was that he had found a good friend in you and was scared to loose that.
Late night talks in the gym became a regular, he’d always walk you home after practice (along with mad dog ‘cause he was your neighbor) and every now and then you’d have lunch with him. At first it felt nice, you liked being friends with Tooru and being able to help him out with his problems, letting down his walls and showing you his true self. It was close to the end of school that you started to feel weird around him. Suddenly the gym seemed a bit smaller than it used to be, the air felt a little dense too specially after watching Oikawa train intensely, sweat running down his neck. It’d get harder to swallow and talking to him without going blank was a challenge, something was wrong with you but you couldn’t tell what.
You didn’t tell mad dog about it, knowing he wouldn’t really have an answer to give you, so you kept it to yourself and waited for it to go away. It didn’t. You started to think about him on a regular basis, wondering what it’d feel like to hold his hand in yours or to cup his face and give him a soft pe- wait what, oh shit. Could it be? Could you be in love with Tooru?
One night, while he was walking you home after practice you decided to put your feelings to the test. Without really thinking much about it you got your hand out of your pocket and grabbed his hand. It felt cold, harsh, it wasn’t soft at all like you had imagined but you still liked holding it.
“ What are you doing?” you looked up at him with a boring expression on your face, his cheeks were... red?
“ I’m holding your hand” god you were stupid.
“Yeah, I can see that. Why?”
“ I don’t know it just... looked cold, I’ve heard you have cold hands and so I thought I’d help you out” it sounded like a better excuse in your head.
“ Oh, eh okay, thanks I guess?” He gave you a small smile and squeezed your hand, holding it tight until you reached your home.
After that incident you decided you were definitely in love with him. That same night Oikawa realized his feelings towards you were purely platonic, he loved having a friend outside of the volleyball team who could see him for who he really was and would not be afraid to judge him, you cared about him and weren’t afraid to show it. He remembered the words you’d said to him that night at the gym after his fight with Iwa.
“You’re lucky to have someone who cares so much about you, I can really tell he loves you. I know you probably can’t see it right now, but all those things he said he only did cause he’s worried you’re gonna get yourself hurt. He loves you”
He loves you.
The graduation day came and you all cried, laughed and hugged each other. You had planned to confess your feelings to Tooru once the ceremony was over, but before you could get a change it all went to shit. It’s like it all happened in slow motion, him grabbing your hands and pulling you into his arms, making you feel so warm inside.
“ Thank you for giving me a second chance, you’re such a good friend” Ouch. “ I need your advice once more, please?” He looked at you with his puppy eyes and you couldn’t say no. He took you away from the crowd of students and guided you through the halls, finally sitting on the steps of the stairs.
“Okay, so, what is it?” A part of you hoped this was a love confession, the other part knew that it wasn’t.
“ I’ve been thinking about what you said to me that night at the gym” he started “ The night I had a fight with Iwaizumi” his checks were turning red, he was playing with the rings on his fingers, and suddenly you understood. This was a love confession, except he wasn’t confessing to you.
“ You love him” Tooru looked up at you and smiled, you’d never seen him smile so bright.
“ I think I do, but I’m scared. He’s my best friend you know, there’s a lot at risk. I couldn’t bare to loose his friendship over some crush.” He let out a frustrated sigh. “But I’m sure this isn’t it, it’s not just a crush” Ou-“ I love him” -ch.

Firefly’s Masterlist
Tumblr media
Sam Wilson couldn’t believe his luck, he’d signed up to the right gym, that’s for sure. There was the most beautiful woman standing at the opposite wall with a group of women. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of her as she instructed the class. It was like he was hypnotised, but at least he was happy about it. Her figure was strong, and she commanded the attention of the women with ease and a stunning smile that made her eyes sparkle.
He dropped his bag onto the floor and folded his arms, as he watched on in wonder while she instructed them to loosen up with various stretches. The way her body bent and twisted into the poses was enough to make him stir under the belt.
Lost in his daydream, Sam didn’t realise the instructor had turned away from the class and walked in his direction. Lost in the sight of her plump lips and then he realised that she was looking at him. No, not just looking, her lips were moving. She was talking to him. He snapped out of his haze and apologised for not hearing.
“Are you here to assist with the self-defence class?” Her eyebrow raised at him, slight confusion on her face.
Now that she was in his personal space, Sam felt nervous. He was usually so quick and an absolute charmer with women. Well, with most people, young and old. He’d get himself out of any situation and this is when he needed his wits about him.
“Uhm- No, I think there’s something wrong with my eyes.” Sam wrinkled his nose and cringed at his train of thought.
The woman looked at him with widening fear and reached out to take his arm, “Right, okay, what do you need? What’s wrong?”
The feel of her soft skin warmed his arm in an instant, a tingle bloomed across his cheeks. Then he refocused back on his plan, even if it could potentially end badly, he wanted to charm her.
“I just can’t take them off you.” Sam grinned, but it dropped when he saw the scowl, she was giving him.
Suddenly the most beautiful sound came from the woman, the laugh that fell from her lips made him feel like a cloud, completely soft and weightless. And the sight of her head thrown back brought the grin back to his face. It worked.
“But I am more than happy to help out with the class.” Sam’s smile didn’t drop but his heart raced at the thought of his offer being rejected.
“Oh, you are definitely helping out now.” grabbed his bicep and brought him to the front of the group. “Now ladies, this is-”
“Sam” He waved and gave them a lopsided smile. “Sam Wilson.”
“Sam is going to be our test dummy for today’s session.” Y/N grabbed a [added vest and handed it to him, “now put this on and be a good boy so these Ladies can practice kneeing someone in the stomach.”
“What? I thought you were going to wrestle me or something.”
“Nuh-uh, good luck sugar.” She grinned.
“Wait, do I get to know your name?” Sam asked as he pulled on the vest.
“You can call me Boss Lady.” She replied and returned to the group of women.
Sam didn’t miss the teasing smirk she sent his way as she walked away and discussed the techniques with the women that were lining up to practise their recently learned moves on him. He was glad he had this padded vest and years of training in the army to deal with the blows about to come his way.
At least he got to meet her, see that stunning smile, and hear that beautiful laugh. It was all worth it.
Tumblr media
Y/N stroked her fingers through her hair, a failed attempt to tame the flyaway while giving herself a once over in the pocket mirror. Nerves swirled in her stomach as the Uber approached the Italian restaurant. She wasn’t sure if this was a good idea or not, she hadn’t been on a date in over a year and she had only known this guy for a few weeks through an online dating app.
The maître-d took her coat then led her to an empty table, leaving her to browse the drinks menu. Y/N wasn’t fazed by being here before him, she was a little earlier than planned and decided to order a glass of wine.
Yet, the minutes ticked by. Y/N sipped on her drink, eyes focused on the entrance for any sign of her date but after twenty minutes and an ignored message, she decided to ask the waitress to clear the reservation and bring over the cheque for her wine. She wasn’t going to sit there any longer, waiting for someone that wasn’t going to arrive.
Feeling scorned by being stood up, she left the restaurant in a flurry but tried to remain composed and swiftly began to walk down the block to the busier part of town to hail a taxi. But before she reached the end of the sidewalk an illuminated sign across the street caught her attention. Compound. It was the place that Sam had mentioned to her earlier in the week when they were at the gym.
They’d formed a good friendship over the last few months and with a few of the other regulars at the gym. Sam had invited Y/N alongside Bucky and Nat who were personal trainers at the gym. Y/N knew them well but had declined the invite to the bar that was now opposite her. She made up an excuse, unsure as to why she lied about needing to go to her parents.
But now that she was here, she might as well put the time she had in getting ready to good use. She could just think of some other excuse and pretend like the evening hadn’t started as badly as it did. With a renewed surge of confidence, she skipped across the street and entered the bar.
It was busy but considering it was a Friday night, most people ventured further into town for a night out. She spotted Bucky and one of his best clients, Steve, at one of the pool tables in the corner. Bucky had just broken the set and Steve moved to take his shot. That’s when Y/N saw that Natasha was here too, almost hidden from view by the muscular giant that was Steve. Y/N was sure that Natasha never looked less than radiant, she never looked out of place anywhere. She was perfect.
Y/N removed her coat and hooked it up, uncertainty starting to worry her about turning up unannounced. She shook it off and walked over to the bar to grab a round of beers to take over to the table, she couldn’t go over there empty-handed.
At the sound of her name being called, she turned around to see Bucky, his signature smile on his lips and arms opened wide to welcome her in a light hug.
“Hi Buck, parents didn’t need me so thought I’d gate crash.” Y/N grinned and held up the bottles, “And I have beers.”
“Always welcome. But we need one more.” Bucky gestured over to the table, the new addition at the table was Sam.
An unexpected rush of butterflies assaulted Y/N’s stomach as she ordered the remaining beer and walked over to the bar with Bucky in tow. She greeted everyone, pausing as she approached Sam. This was the first time she’d seen him in something other than gym clothes and she appreciated the form-fitting shirt that hugged at his muscular arms.
“Somebody call the cops because it’s got to be illegal to look that good!” Sam bellowed out and held out his arms, gesturing up and down her body.
Y/N couldn’t help the giggle that erupted and wrapped her arms around his neck. She was glad that her date had stood her up because now she was able to enjoy the night with friends that wanted her to be around. Plus, who doesn’t love a confidence boost from a handsome guy?
Even though Sam used the most ridiculous lines to get Y/N’s attention, something was charming about him. It was a confidence boost for sure and when later that night, he asked her on a date, she secretly hoped that it was going to lead to something more. Even if the rational voice in her head told her not to get attached too soon.
Tumblr media
Sam couldn’t believe his luck; they were on their fifth date and Y/N had invited him up to her apartment for coffee. Of course, he hoped it was code for sex. But honestly, he didn’t mind if that didn’t happen, he just wanted to spend more time with Y/N. She was great company, had a wicked sense of humour and was genuinely fun to be around.
Nerves bubbled in Sam’s stomach while he waited for Y/N to return with their drinks. He had sat on the cosy couch that was adorned with plush cushions and the softest blanket he’d ever felt but he needed to distract himself from the butterflies somersaulting in his stomach. A display of photographs and memorabilia adorning one of the walls caught his eye and he wandered over.
Several photographs of Y/N with different groups of people; at festivals, out for dinner, on vacation. Some of the frames had ticket stubs tucked into them, the other frames had ornaments hanging from them or polaroids stuck to the corners. It was a collage of happiness and colour. He couldn’t help the smile that formed as he thought of all the possibilities of their dating heading towards making memories like this, together.
Sam returned to the couch and Y/N placed the cups onto the coffee table. He noticed the change in her body language; she smoothed down her skirt several times, a coy smile played on her lips as she sipped on the drink. He grinned, she was on the same page as him and maybe just as nervous.
“We don’t have to do anything.” Sam’s voice gained her attention, “I’m happy to wait and see where things go if that’s what you’re worried about.”
Y/N’s eyes sparkled, she looked as if the weight of the world had been taken off her shoulders and then she plunged towards him. Their lips met in a heated kiss; Sam was shocked at the sudden change of pace, but he couldn’t resist the need to feel her body pressed up against him.
They both pulled back for air, and Sam brushed his knuckles against her cheek, “I guess that means you do want to do something.”
Y/N bit her lip and shuffled backwards, straightened up and gestured for him to follow her to the bedroom. Sam kicked off his shoes and loosened his tie in the doorway, completely enamoured by Y/N while she removed her heels.
“Sam, can you help?” Y/N looked behind and pulled her hair over her shoulder, exposing the zip that she couldn’t quite reach the top of the dress.
Slowly, the zip glided down, showing a hint of the black lace underwear. Sam looked up to the ceiling, thanking God for the beauty before him. She turned around and began unbuttoning his shirt, her fingers delicate and features focused on the clothing. But there seemed to be an air of nervousness coming from her.
Sam tipped up her chin before she could finish undressing him. He kissed her lightly, in hope to ease her, comfort her.
Their lips parted and he rested his forehead against Y/N’s, “as I said, we don’t have to do anything.”
Y/N nodded and guided him to the foot of the bed to take a seat, “I’m okay. It’s just been a while.”
Sam was in a similar situation and didn’t want his nerves to add to the concern that was already laced on her features as she stood in front of him, “We’ll do this at your pace.”
She nodded, a smile now taking over her features as she removed her arms from the sleeves of her dress and letting it pool at her feet. Sam’s mouth dropped agape as he took in her all beauty; the soft skin that curved and dipped in exquisite ways.
His hands rubbed at his thighs and looked back up to the woman who approached cautiously, a smirk on his face, “I hope you know CPR because you are taking my breath away.”
Y/N bit her bottom lip and straddled his lap, “I think I’m pretty good at mouth to mouth.”
Sam held her waist with one hand, the other exploring and massaging the exposed skin of her thighs, her hips and stomach before he reached for her neck. Their lips crashed together, and they shuffled up the mattress, exposing more of their bodies and letting passion guide them through the remainder of the night.
Tumblr media
The episode of The Big Bang Theory played in the background, Y/N was too occupied with painting her toenails, her feet rested on the coffee table as she tugged up her sweatpants for the fifth time in the hopes to not smudge the polish.
Sam had been in the bedroom for ten minutes, putting on an outfit that he needed Y/N’s approval on. At least they’d ordered food before he went in there because otherwise, Y/N would have consumed everything in his fridge which didn’t consist of much other than a block of cheese and a bottle of vodka.
The buzz at the intercom made her jump but luckily there were no smudges to her newly pampered feet.
“I’ll get it,” Y/N shouted from the lounge of Sam’s apartment and headed to the front door to wait for the delivery person. She handed the guy some bills and a little tip before hitting the door shut with her hip.
Y/N held onto the pizza boxes and bottle of soda tightly and cautiously made her way down the hall. She waited for Sam to appear, but he still hadn’t come out of his bedroom. It was getting a bit ridiculous now.
“Sam, hurry up or your food is going to go cold.” She called and poured out the drinks.
“What do you think?” Sam asked as he entered the room, arms wide as he twirled slowly.
Sam was in a crisp white shirt, smart black trousers, and a suit jacket. The bowtie was a little crooked, but it made his sheepish grin all that more endearing to her.
“A little formal for movie night don’t you think?” She smirked and dipped an onion ring into the garlic sauce.
“Thought it might impress you.” Sam grinned at her, “Thought it would bring a bit more class to the charity gala. We need to raise money for the community centre.”
“Well, I think you look rather handsome and I’m sure someone will bid a lot of money on you.” Y/N’s eyes squinted at him, for being reminded that Sam was being auctioned off alongside Steve and Bucky for dates to the rich women of New York.
Y/N knew they weren’t exclusive, but she knew they weren’t dating other people, they just hadn’t talked about that. It had only been a couple of months since their first date and as much as Y/N was enjoying Sam’s company, she didn’t want to rush into anything or mistake how she felt and that it was unreciprocated.
“Do you know what my shirt is made of?” Sam walked towards her and knelt to be at her eye level, “Boyfriend material. Yeah, I like the sound of that.”
Sam pressed a kiss to her cheek then stood back up to return to the bedroom while Y/N remained glued to the spot, eyes wide at the way he’d casually pulled off another cheesy line and quietened her insecurities in one swift movement. She was falling, hard.
Tumblr media
Sam pulled the van into the driveway, feeling giddy at the sight of Y/N standing on the porch with their realtor. The sun beamed down onto Y/N’s skin, an ethereal glow as she spoke animatedly with Phil, probably talking his ear off about the cost of hiring a van themselves in comparison to hiring a removals company.
It had taken them a while to get here but Sam was over the moon to be where they were now. Everything came into alignment, apart from the odd bump in the road. But after many sleepless nights, a last-minute scramble for cash and only a few days to pack up their separate lives; they were finally moving into their dream home.
They had talked about this for months, both unsure to take the leap when viewing different houses until this one came along. The minute they walked into the place, it felt like home. It was vacant and they were able to imagine what it would look like with their belongings; where the sofa would look best in the lounge or which room should be the guest bedroom or office space.
Of course, the kitchen was Sam’s favourite place, it was open planned and the best for socialising and he couldn’t wait for everyone to come round for a barbecue as the French doors opening onto a patio that stretched into a neat lawn. Perfect for hosting their friends this summer.
“Did you get lost pumpkin?” Y/N smiled at him.
“Never, I’m like a homing pigeon when it comes to you.” Sam chuckled, “are we ready now Phil?”
The middle-aged man that had a childlike spark, gave him a curt nod, and headed into the property, “Right this way.”
The papers were signed, and all that was left was to be handed over the keys so that they could begin unloading their belongings. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as Phil placed a set of keys into Y/N’s hands.
“Be careful with those.” Sam gave her a lopsided smirk and a raised brow.
“I’m not going to lose them!” She retaliated.
“Yeah, but this one,” Sam pointed to one of the keys, “is a special one.”
Y/N turned to him, brows knitted together in confusion, “what are you going on about Sam?”
Sam placed his hands on her shoulders, focusing her attention on him. His face lined with seriousness, “It’s the key to my heart.”
Y/N groaned and rolled her eyes, shaking her head at him.
“Nailed it!” Phil said as he high fived Sam, “Now, I will leave you lovely pair to get acquainted with your new home.”
Y/N placed the keys onto the kitchen island and looked out onto the garden. Sam’s arms wrapped around her waist; his chest pressed tightly to her back.
“We did it, baby girl,” Sam whispered into her ear and lightly pecked her cheek.
“That we did.” She turned her head to capture his lips with her own.
Tumblr media
Y/N grabbed the plates, shoving them into the dishwasher while Sam waved Steve and Peggy off from the front door. It was a good date night, regardless of the lack of wine. Peggy was almost ready to burst with the twins that had wriggled constantly in her belly. They’d finally decided on a name but refused to tell Y/N or Sam.
“Anything else I need to do, baby girl?” Sam asked as he returned to the kitchen.
“All done in here.” Y/N yawned, “Think it’s time for bed.”
Sam’s face dropped for a split second, but Y/N spotted it. She wandered round to his side of the room and wrapped her arms around his neck, fingers massaging the back of his head.
“What’s up?” She asked, pressing a light kiss to his lips.
A grin formed on his lips, the warmth spreading to her in an instant, shared happiness was a beautiful feeling.
“I was just thinking that I don’t think there’s anything I’d like to change about you.” He swayed your body to the music that filtered through from the music dock in the living room.
“So why the grumpy face?” Y/N pouted and squeezed his cheeks together; lips mushed into a dramatic grimace.
“Because I realised there was something I’d like to change,” Sam mumbled through your hold on his face.
Y/N pulled away instantly, her hands dropping to her side as anger began to bubble under her skin, “excuse me?”
Sam tugged her by the waist, keeping her close, “Let me finish.”
She relaxed the tension in her body and placed her hands back on his chest, the annoyance still simmering but less noticeable. Sam’s fingers traced soft lines up and down her back until she gave in and placed her head on his shoulder.
“Now, where was I? Ah yes, the one thing I’d change about you.” He spluttered as Y/N hit him on the arm, lightly but still effective. “The only thing would be your last name.”
Y/N cringed at the chat-up line and pulled away, breaking their hold in favour of turning out the lights in the kitchen before re-joining him but he was nowhere to be seen when she turned around. The sudden silence had her on edge as she headed to the lounge to find Sam kneeling in front of her, his hand raised with a velvet box.
She gasped and clamped her hand over her mouth, he was being serious. He wasn’t using some cheesy chat-up line, well he was, but he was doing this! Y/N squealed internally, the sudden realisation that Sam was talking had her snapping up to his eyes.
The gorgeous brown brimming with tears as he told her how much he loved her, “I want you in my life always baby girl, will you be my wife?”
“Yes!” she responded, throwing her arms around his neck as he spun her around the room.
Y/N pressed kiss after kiss to every place she could, their salty tears mixing in with their passion. Sam pulled back with a chuckle, he took her left hand and placed the sparkling ring onto her finger.
He might have used his cheesy pick-up lines to get to this point, but Y/N loved every single one. Especially this one.
The End.

hi! can you do a wolfstar as professors in hogwarts trying to keep their relationship a secret but failing bc the students find out and they all ship it hard, pretty please? 🥺
absolutely! not sure this is what you wanted but i hope you enjoy!
-
Prof Lupin + Prof Black. The words had been etched into the wall of the bathroom, with a lopsided heart around it. Sirius rolled his eyes, taking a drag at his cigarette. The student bathroom was where he came to smoke. The gross one, that no students actually used.
A different cheeky student had merely written Remus Lupin is in love with the astronomy teacher. Sirius chuckled. There was lots of other graffiti on the walls of the bathroom, and he always enjoyed looking at it. He took one last drag of his cigarette, before flicking it into the toilet bowl and exiting the stall.
-
“Any questions?” Remus looked over the crowd of third years, whom he had just explained a new assignment to. A few hands were raised.
“Yes, Ms. Jones?”
The 13-year-old giggled to her friends, before turning back to Remus. “Professor Lupin,” she said in an almost innocent voice. “I have… confidential sources-” at this, she giggled to her friends once again, “-that tell me you and Professor Black were seen snogging behind the greenhouses last week. Is that true?”
Remus cursed Sirius and his carelessness. “Well, you see,” he said, quickly thinking up an appropriate response. “Really, what I do outside this classroom is none of your business. But if you must know; no, it isn’t. Professor Black and I have done no such thing.”
The girl exchanged a look with her friends that showed him she wasn’t satisfied with her answer. He sighed. “Dismissed.”
Immediately, the students erupted into conversation, and chairs scrambled as they left the classroom.
-
“Sirius, we have to be more careful.”
Sirius rolled his eyes at this, settling down comfortably in Remus’ office chair.
Remus closed the door behind them, hopefully giving them a moment's privacy. “The students aren’t stupid,” he continued.
“Well,” Sirius said, feet resting on Remus’ desk. “Some of them are.”
“No,” Remus glared at him. “They’re going to figure it out,” he said. “Some of them already have!”
“So what’s the point in hiding it anymore?” Sirius asked, jumping to his feet. In a few quick strides, he made his way across the floor, closing the gap between Remus and himself. “Why’s it so damn bad if people know, anyway?” He reached for Remus’ hand, and Remus let him take it, letting out a weary sigh.
“We don’t know how people will react,” he reminded him. “But it’s certainly not everyone who’ll find our relationship… appropriate.”
“So what?” Sirius burst out. “Who cares what they think? I love you, Remus, and I want to be able to show that, even when we’re in front of other people. Heck, if it was up to me, I’d shout it from the rooftops every day. I’d write it somewhere for the whole world to see!”
Remus looked at the floor. “Please don’t,” he mumbled. “Sirius, I… I know you don’t exactly get it. You’ve never seemed to care much what others thought of you, but I don’t have that luxury. I’m already a werewolf, I can’t give people more reasons to hate me. So… no more reckless make-out sessions, or telling looks in public, alright?”
When he looked up, Sirius’ face had hardened. “Fine,” he said. “If that’s how you’d like it. From now on, we’ll be professional work colleagues only. You don’t have to worry about people discovering our ‘inappropriate relationship’.”
“Oh, come on, you know that isn’t how I meant it!” Remus reached out towards him, but he’d already turned around and made towards the door. “Sirius!”
“It’s Professor Black to you,” Sirius said coldly, before slamming the door behind him.
-
Remus was exhausted. He’d barely gotten any sleep last night.
He’d thought the fight yesterday would’ve been quickly forgotten, but Sirius hadn’t come to bed that night, the bed they usually shared. It’d been cold and empty without him, and Remus had spent all night worrying he’d fucked up badly this time.
“Professor Lupin!” It was Ms. Jones, the nosy third year. She came up to him, a look on her face that told him she knew too much.
“Yes?”
“Did you and Professor Black have a fight?” she asked, looking innocent enough except for a gleaming sparkle in her eyes. “It seems you two have been avoiding each other all day.”
“How do you notice everything?” Remus groaned at her. “Don’t you have normal hobbies too?”
She smiled cheekily. “I do, Professor, but you two are not as subtle as you think you are. In fact, it’s glaringly obvious that you’re in love.”
Remus could feel the colour rushing to his cheeks. He cleared his throat, trying to appear as professional as possible. “Ms. Jones, our private lives are really none of your concern-”
“Oh, come on,” the girl said, a humorous gleam in her eyes. “He and you are meant to be!” Her face turned more serious. “Really, professor, I think it would be such a shame if you ruined your relationship over something this silly.”
“Alright.” Remus rolled her eyes. “Off to class you go.” He turned around, walking down the hallway towards his own classroom. But as much as he hated to admit it, she was right, he knew it. He would have to find Sirius after class...
-
He had been planning to go looking for Sirius as soon as his class was over, but he didn’t have to. Sirius was already waiting for him right outside the door to the DADA classroom.
“Hey,” he said, as soon as he saw Remus.
Remus stopped in his tracks. “... Hey.”
Sirius shifted uncomfortably. There was an awkward silence that seemed to stretch for an eternity, before Sirius suddenly spoke: “Remus, I’m so sorry! I’m a bloody idiot.”
A look of guilt and worry was prominent in his eyes.
Remus sighed. “Come,” he said softly. “Let’s talk about it, okay?”
They walked in silence to Remus’ office, the same place they’d fought last night. Remus was searching his brain for something to say, but before he got the chance, Sirius started talking again:
“I’m so truly sorry,” he said. “I should’ve listened to you. It’s perfectly reasonable for you to not want this to be public, but instead of respecting your wishes I acted like a bloody asshole.”
Remus moved closer, grabbing Sirius’ hands. “Hey, it’s okay,” he said in a gentle voice. “You were upset, I get it. And I probably could’ve been more understanding of your point of view as well. You don’t want to hide who you are, or who you love, and that’s understandable.”
Sirius seemed to relax a bit, a weak smile forming on his lips. “We don’t have to tell anyone,” he said. “If it makes you comfortable, we can try to be more careful from now on. I just don’t want to lose you.”
“No,” Remus said, shaking his head. “I’ve thought about it and…” he hesitated for a moment, before meeting Sirius’ eyes. “I think I’m ready for people to know.”
Sirius raised his eyebrows. “Really? Remus, I mean it, if you’re not comfortable, please don’t-”
Remus held a finger to Sirius’s lips to silence him. “In the words of a very wise man I know: ‘Who cares what they think?’” He chuckled. “So, let’s… Let’s shout it from the rooftops, and write it somewhere for the whole world to see.”
He looked nervously at Sirius, who grinned, leaning in to kiss him. They pressed their foreheads together, standing like that for a while.
“You’re incredible,” Sirius mumbled. “But perhaps we don’t have to do those things just yet. Let’s take it slow, alright? Baby steps.”
Remus nodded. He imagined him and Sirius, walking down the hallway, holding hands. The thought was daunting, for sure, but exciting as well.
“Yeah,” he agreed. “Baby steps.”

Good luck charm #2
Part one here
Pairing: Johnny Depp x reader
It’s taken me a few weeks to write and be happy with this part to post. I hope that you all enjoy it and that it was worth the wait.
Tumblr media
A few days later, I swear I can still smell the musky scent of Sauvage, and the taste of cigarettes on my lips. It’s hard to comprehend any of the last seventy-two hours being real, and going by Alex’s (who I’m sitting opposite having coffee with) reaction and raised eyebrows at me retelling the whole story, she’s having a hard time with it too. And in all honesty, I don’t blame her, it’s a lot to process.
“So, he invited you to the concert after party?”
I nod my head and take a sip of my coffee.
“Yep.”
“And he took you back to his hotel room? Where you-”
My lips curve into a smirk.
“He sure did.”
“And you’re aware of the fact this all sounds like a badly written fanfiction?”
I have to burst out laughing. There’s no denying it because it really, really does. I couldn’t have made it up if I tried.
“Did I tell you about the part where he had to get his security to smuggle me out of the building unnoticed the next morning?”
For me, that had been the most amusing part of the story. Having breakfast with him as if it was the most normal thing in the world. After a few more spent kisses and I’d decided that it was time for us to part ways, he’d sent in his security in to make sure I got out of the building safely.
“But the real question is… Has he called or texted you?”
He hadn’t yet. The band had played a show last night, and would be travelling again for their next tomorrow. I wasn’t hanging on and waiting for him to reach out to me either. It would be pretty easy for me to pick up the phone and call him too, but I refused to be that desperate.
I shake my head in reply to Alex’s question.
“No, but he gave me his number.”
“So, he’s waiting for you to call him then?”
Realistically, the chances were that it was a one night thing. I wouldn’t hear from him again and we’d go our separate ways. I’d rather be hit with the reality of the situation than holding out on hope for a phone call and being disappointed when it didn’t happen.
“I’m not going to. I don’t want him to think that I’m pining over him and completely desperate!”
“You’re insane… You know, if he wasn’t in the slightest bit interested then he wouldn’t have given you his number to begin with.”
That was a true enough point to make, but I’m still not deluded enough to give into the fantasy. I’m ready to give her a reply when my phone, that’s been sitting on the table in front of me, starts to frantically vibrate.
“Oh my god!”
Alex spots the name on the screen before I’m able to take a glance.
“He’s calling you! This really is a badly written fanfiction!”
I shrug my shoulders and continue to let the phone ring out. If it’s important, he’ll leave a voicemail.
“If you don’t answer that, I will!”
I scowl at her and shake my head, it’s hard to believe that I’m the one that’s being responsible about handling all of this. Before she’s able to reach for the phone, I’m swiping it off the table and standing up. “I’m at least taking it outside.” I grumble under my breath.
“Hello?”
“Uh, hi-” The voice on the other end is raspy and familiar. I can just about see him fidgeting around like he does in interviews when he’s nervous. “It’s Johnny.”
Silence.
I’m confused. Does he want me to make the next move?
“Right… Your name rings a bell. There was this Johnny, that the other night I went to go and see his band and ended up spending the night in his hotel room-”
I don’t even mean for the words to sound as aggressive as they do .
“I feel like I owe you a little of an explanation -- I don’t usually do this. I, uh, I don’t usually invite girls - especially fans -  back to my hotel room, and not call for three days.”
So it’s one of those phone calls, where he’s expecting to let me down gently and feels the need to explain everything that I already know to be the case.
“There’s no need to make a fool of yourself… I get it.”
“I don’t think that you do.”
What isn’t there to get?
“I get it. I mean this is probably the part where you offer me an obscene amount of money to not go to the press about it. You don’t need to worry--”
“I can’t stop thinking about you.”
I freeze dead in my tracks, the thoughts of my overactive imagination and the words that I’m about to hit him with come to a close. Am I hearing things? Did he really just say…
“What?”
“It’s probably a really bad line. I don’t know if you heard me, I said….”
God, he’s insufferable.
“No, I heard you… I just don’t get it.”
He has his choice of any girl in the world. Models, actresses, and here he is calling me.
“The other night was special for me-”
It’s a cliché, and just about the worst thing that he could come out with, but I’ll let him continue.
“Listen, this probably sounds insane… but I want you here for the show tomorrow-”
He can’t be serious or that disconnected with reality. But then I remember the industry that he’s been working with the past thirty years, where he doesn’t have a nine to five job to cling onto, with a snap of his fingers he can pack his bags and travel somewhere else.
“I can fly you out, get you into the concert.”
That’s it. I can’t hold in my laughter, and I can just about see him pondering on the other end what’s so funny about his offer.
“I have a job-”
“So, call in sick?”
“It doesn’t work like that or that I don’t want to. It’s just, if I let you pay for the tickets and fly me out then that’s cheap, and I don’t want to be that person.”
There’s a long, drawn out sigh on the other end of the phone.
“Let me call you back.” I tell him, “I’ll see what I can come up with.”
---
A family emergency had been the most inventive thing that I’d been able to come up with, but it at least stopped any questions and pestering from work and friends about skipping town all of a sudden. The process of getting there had been planned to perfection, he was going to have one of the band’s security head on out to the airport and take me back to the concert venue - even if I had told him ten times how ridiculous it was and that I could get a cab, he had been insistent.
The journey from the airport to the venue has me pondering the insanity of it all. Both in him actually wanting me here, and me going as far as to make it happen.
The car pulls into the loading bay of the venue, where the tour buses and trucks with the band’s gear are on it. It’s when I get out of the car, that I notice him, like he’s just stepped off a photoshoot, puffing on a cigarette. I make the conscious decision to take him by surprise and sneak up on him.
“You know, those things are going to kill you one day-”
He startles, just about jumping out of his skin and choking on his cigarette in the process.
“Too bad we’re all going to die anyway, so we might as well indulge in the bad things while we’re alive and kicking.”
“That’s a little of a morbid stance to have.”
He laughs and shrugs his shoulders, unphased, “Calling me out on my smoking and then calling me morbid might be the best ‘hello’ I’ve ever gotten.”
He flicks the cigarette to the floor before stubbing it out with his shoe. He stands there with outstretched arms, ready to welcome me, but in blind panic I go for a handshake rather than a hug.
“Hi.”
His eyes widen, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I can almost see his thought process of just how he’s going to redeem himself and move on from the award pause.
“Hi,” There’s a long pause. “Was your flight okay? You got here safe?”
Thankfully, the flight had only been a couple of hours long - but that was more than enough time for me to spend on a plane. There was something about being in a constricted space, thousands of feet up in the air that made me nervous. Plus, without fail, I always felt disgusting afterwards.
“Guy beside me was snoring and drooling the whole time, I felt incriminated.”
“Should’ve taken my offer to fly you out first class.” I snort and roll my eyes at him. We’d already been over this, I’d made myself clear, I wasn’t going to be his groupie.
“Actually, without being rude, is there a place I can go and shower first? Being frisked at security and sitting on a plane kind of makes me feel gross.”
His eyebrow raises in amusement, I can almost see the cheeky comment that he’s threatening to make on the tip of his tongue, but something stops him.  “Tour bus is free at the moment. I can give you the exclusive tour, too.”
Showering on a tour bus. Great. Exactly what I had in mind.
“Ladies first,” He gestures with his hand for me to move in front of him. It doesn’t take a scientist to work out that the giant black RV with the band logo across it is where we’re headed..
Much to my surprise, going inside, it’s more like a luxury hotel room on wheels. It feels a better standard than my apartment back home.
“This part is the kitchen…. We don’t use it much, aside from the mini bar.”
It doesn’t even qualify to be called a kitchen. It’s a tiny little counter space with a microwave, a coffee machine, and a mini fridge.
“And this is where we sit and relax, talk, play guitar...” He points towards the plush leather sofas adjacent to each other. “The cool part here is that the wall slides back if you need more space.”
“Impressive.”
“These are the bunks where we bring back the groupies.”
I’m unsure whether they look claustrophobic, like I’ve heard many complaints about, or if they look quite cozy.
“There’s a proper bedroom through there too, but Alice and Joe usually fight it out for it. I don’t mind sleeping it rougher.” He explains with a shrug of his shoulders. “Bathroom is through the back. Take as much time as you need. I’ll stand guard for you.”
“Thank you.” I look up at him with a smile before brushing past to open the door on the back wall that extends out into the bathroom. Much to my surprise, the room isn’t all that smaller than the bathroom in my apartment back home. The shower, that I assumed was going to be a small, cramped space, is quite spacious. The only strange thing is stripping down and knowing who is standing guard by the door.
He’s in every way true to his word, too. As I turn the water off and grab a towel to wrap myself in, I can hear a disagreement going on outside between Johnny and Tommy about the bathroom being otherwise engaged.
“I’m telling you, dude, you’re just going to need to find somewhere else to go and pee… Bathroom is off limits!”
“But I can’t hold it in, man! I’m dying! You think I can use the kitchen sink?”
Johnny starts to laugh at him, “You can’t be serious!”
There’s a little more toilet talk back and forth and laughing still going on by the time I’m dressed and nudging the door open carefully.
“Um, hi, Tommy.” I greet nervously and fold my arms over my chest.
“Oh! Now I get it… You have a girl here!”
I can feel a blush rise to my cheeks just thinking about what is no doubt going through his mind. Thankfully, Johnny comes to the rescue.
“It’s not -- it isn’t that, Tommy.”
“Oh, I’m sure.” He gives a wink at the two of us. “I’ll leave you to it, J-man!” And just like that, Tommy is off the bus.
“I’m sorry about him.” Johnny sighs, “He says what he thinks, there’s no stopping him.”
“It’s fine,” I brush off, acting as if I’m unbothered. But in reality, that one comment has gotten to me. I can’t help but have the niggling thought in the back of my mind, if that’s the way that Tommy is going to react, then what is the rest of the band going to be like?
---
The concert was amazing, even better than what it had been a few nights ago. I’d watched the show from the side of the stage, and could safely say that this time, Johnny had been looking and smiling at me.
I hadn’t wanted to face the confrontations of the band after the show, so after the encore, I had decided to hide away in Johnny’s dressing room to look at my phone for a moment of peace and quiet. If I was to exclude the fact that it was Johnny Depp’s dressing room that I was sitting in, it would have felt like the first normal moment of an otherwise bizarre day.
The door flying open makes me look up from the screen, to see Johnny standing there, still hot and sweaty from being under the lights.
“Everything okay?” He asks with a concerned expression, “You weren’t there when I came off stage. I was a little worried that I’d scared you off.”
I’m hardly going to tell him that I’m scared of running into the band when he’s the one that’s brought me out here to be with him. “I just didn’t want to get in the way, I thought you guys would be in a race to hit the showers.” I lie coolly. It seems to be good enough, since he goes to change the subject.
“What did you think?” He asks, a grin firmly in place on his lips. “Could you see and hear alright? The speakers weren’t too loud?”
I grin and nod my head eagerly. “You sounded amazing! Heroes was phenomenal...” I probably sound like I’m trying to impress him, but it’s my favourite song that the band do.
“Ah, you see,” He pauses to take a drink from his water bottle. “I think I had a little bit of extra good luck, with being cheered on the side front.”
I can feel that warm feeling of heat going up to my cheeks, and certainly not for the first time today. It makes me feel so powerless and awkward to just stand and say nothing.
“Um,” He scratches the back of his head, “You must be hungry?”
Starving, actually. I hadn’t had anything to eat since getting here and been too shy to pluck up the courage to ask about food since getting here. I’d accepted my fate and growling stomach a good few hours ago.  But regardless, I downplay it, “A little, I guess…”
“Do you want to go and grab something to eat? I need to get showered and changed first…
I’m not certain what prospect makes me more nervous. Dinner with him. Or dinner uncomfortably sitting around all of the Hollywood Vampires eating. Both make my stomach flip. Especially since he isn’t going to specify.

Where You Belong - Part 1
Pairing: Akaashi x Reader
Genre/Warning: Yandere, Manipulation
Summary: His deep, soothing voice entrances you and his twisted words become your Bible.
Requested by Anon
Part 2
Akaashi has always been by your side. Judging by some of the baby photos your parents have of you together, you’ve known each other for even longer than you can remember. He’s been a quiet, stable presence you can always count on and your dearest friend over the years, so it came as no surprise to anyone when you confessed to him in middle school. You were both young and maybe you didn’t really understand what it meant to romantically like someone, but your friend had said you date boys you like and Akaashi was the only boy you’ve ever enjoyed hanging out with. So that meant you liked him, right?
Now in hindsight you laugh at the memory of Akaashi’s shell-shocked face when you handed him the love letter. He had gently let you down and told you he didn’t see you in that way, but he was adamant about still wanting to be close friends and not letting this get in the way of your bond. You had been a little sad at the rejection, but you quickly shrugged it off in the way only a young child could, happy to know that you’d still have Akaashi by your side and the two of you walked back home together that same day, the confession already forgotten.
There were no more thoughts of boys for the rest of middle school, but now in high school, your mind wanders and you begin to look around at the other male students around you. You had gone on some dates during your first year of high school, but no one peaked your interest and you just found yourself moping on Akaashi’s bed after each failed attempt, whining about how you’d be single forever at this rate. Akaashi didn’t say much, but you took comfort in the way his hand gently patted your head in comfort as he continued reading his books.
However, your luck seems to change when your second year begins and you’re sitting next to a cute boy in your class. You both make accidental eye contact and the two of you whip your heads away, slightly embarrassed at getting caught staring, but when the teacher asks you to pair up for a project, you both nervously smile at each other and introduce yourselves. And that’s how it all begins. It starts off with just some study sessions, which turns into eating lunch together, which then turns into texting every night. Soon enough, the two of you begin going on dates outside of school hours and you find yourself spending less time with Akaashi as you dedicate yourself to your brand new relationship.
Akaashi is happy for you or at least that’s what he tries to convince himself. There’s a dull throbbing pain in his chest everytime you text him and tell him you can’t walk home with him after school. His teeth unconsciously grit everytime he asks you to hangout over the weekends and you respond with, “sorry, I’m hanging out with my boyfriend this weekend”. It’s only when he’s reading a book about some characters in a love triangle that he pinpoints what he’s feeling. Ah, so this is what jealousy feels like. Akaashi’s not daft, he knows he has no right to be jealous. You did confess to him just a few years ago and he had been the one to reject you. What asshole would all of a sudden be jealous now that his best friend is happy? But as he watches the two of you closely, he can’t help the burning green flame of envy raging inside of him.
Unfortunately for you, your honeymoon phase doesn’t last and you start getting into more and more arguments with your boyfriend. Your girlfriends assure you that all couples fight every now and then. It’s completely normal. It’ll blow over. But Akaashi basks in the fact that it’s him you always go to first and it’s him who you truly listen to and he uses that to his advantage. His heart aches everytime you come to him with tears in your eyes and he hates the way you sob into his chest, but he carefully listens to what the latest fight you had with your boyfriend was about. Akaashi’s always been a good listener and he’s always been good at observing and reading people. And when it comes to you, there’s no one else in the entire world who knows how to manipulate your feelings and emotions better than him. His deep, soothing voice entrances you and his twisted words become your Bible.
He shouldn’t treat you like that. How dare he talk to you like that? Why are you still with him? You deserve someone who treats you like the queen that you are. If I were dating you, I’d never make you feel this way. If it were me, I’d always put you first.
Fight after fight with your boyfriend and session after session of being wrapped in Akaashi’s arms as he whispers gentle promises and sweet words into your ears begin to wear away at your mental fortresses. You begin imagining a life without your boyfriend. You begin imagining a life where Akaashi replaces him. It doesn’t take long after that for Akaashi to completely break you down and with his guidance, you find yourself seated in the pretty setter’s lap, his hands on your waist tracing gentle circles into your skin, while you break up with your boyfriend over the phone. There’s screaming and tears as your boyfriend reacts badly to the seemingly sudden cut off, but with an irritated tsk, Akaashi grabs the phone from you and shoots a snide goodbye to the male on the line before hanging up and tucking your head under his chin as he continues cradling you.
You sniffle and he tenderly wipes your stray tears away as he murmurs carefully woven words of comfort into your ear. His heart swoons when you finally turn to look at him and he revels in the fact that you have eyes only for him. Even with your heart completely shattered, it’s him you turn to and think about. He slowly leans in for a kiss and you miss the possessive glint in his eyes as you eagerly reciprocate. Your lips lock together like two puzzle pieces finally being connected. It feels so right, so perfect for you to be his and only his. Yes, this is fate. This is where you belong. And he’d kill anyone who tried to take you away.

BNHA: something sad (Resentment)
Summary: The last time Katsuki sees Izuku alive the other boy is rushing to save him.  A ‘the Sludge Villain incident gone wrong’ aka Izuku dies.
Characters:  Katsuki Bakugo
Fandom: My Hero Academia
WARNINGS! Major Character death, swearing, heavy angst, graphic descriptions of violence
Other parts in this AU: (Something Sad),  (Anger), (Grief)
This is the direct sequel to (Implosion)
......
“Not many people get hit with a concussive blast of this strength and walk away will so few injuries.” Is what the paramedic that looks Katsuki over says, hand glowing a faint blue as he uses some sort of diagnostic quirk.
“It looks like you have a few cuts, bruising, strained muscles and sprained wrist from what I can see. I’d recommend getting a proper examination at the hospital but there’s nothing life-threatening here.” The medic continues.
The emergency doctor at the hospital confirms the diagnosis and shakes his head in disapproval, adding, “…bruising on your ribs and a fractured finger. No concussion, thankfully, but you’ll have a nasty bump on the back of your head. If your quirk didn’t make you naturally resistant to these sorts of shock-based blasts, you would be dead..”
After that, everyone is practically falling over each other to lecture him on how irresponsible and reckless he is.
..
His mum arrives and there is a lot of shouting which just pisses him off.
“HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO REACT WHEN I GET WOKEN UP AT ONE IN THE MORNING BY POLICE TELLING ME THAT MY IDIOT SON, WHO SHOULD BE ASLEEP, IS IN HOSPITAL!!”
“WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!
Then there is the quiet disappointment he gets from his father when his mum is done yelling which only fuels his resentment.
“I don’t understand why you did it son. Did you want to get into that fight? Or was it a mistake? Please. We can’t help if we don’t know what’s going on.”
Eventually, he finally snaps, “I fucking felt like it! That’s why I did it! And you know what, I’d do it again.”
It wasn’t like he could or even wanted to explain that he’d jumped out his window to wander the streets at midnight because he had had a bad dream and his All Might poster had looked at him funny. That the rage and anger were preferable to that sinking empty feeling that had turned his every waking moment into a pointless repeat of everyday routines and useless interactions.  That every time he let himself pause and reflect, Deku’s stupid smiling face was mocking him from the afterlife.
Next, he spends an hour with Senior Officer Watanabe recounting every possible detail from his stroll through the streets to his climactic fight with Lanky, Tiny and Grease-Hair.
“Well, you definitely don’t do things in half measures kid. So far we have private and public property damage, unlicensed quirk usage, quirk usage with the intent to harm, vigilantly activity, assault...”
“Assault! Why the hell is that on the list. Those bastards started it.”
“You can’t go around beating people up no matter how good your intentions are!”
“So, you wanted me to just watch!”
“Yes!” A long breath, “I know it can be hard but you need to wait for the pros. You got lucky this time but what if things had been different? You had misread the situation. What if you had been badly injured? What if you had accidentally injured the victim or killed someone? There is a reason we make people get a license for Hero work. Seison Masuyama is a B-rank villain.”
“B rank? He wasn’t that strong.”
“His quirk, Kinetic-Force, collects kinetic energy and releases it in one overpowered attack. It’s deadly to most people. You were lucky he had already used it once that day and that you were resilient enough to withstand it."
After multiple repeats of the ‘you’re lucky you’re not dead,’ with a side order of ‘it’s a good thing you’re still a minor because you could go to jail for this,’ he gets to go home.
It is three in the morning by the time he arrives back at the apartment, two exhausted parents in tow, having been issued an ‘official warning,’ an order to complete 100 hours of community service and instructions to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. He has never felt angrier or more resentful.
A days later and he is back at school, wasting his time watching clocks and avoiding classmates.
Nothing had changed.
The car screeches to a stop at the school gates, throwing Katsuki forward in his seat. His mum turns to fix him with a stern glare, eyes narrow.
“If you’re not waiting right here by the gate when I come to pick you up or so help me I’ll be escorting you to and from your classroom from the rest of your school life,” she threatens.
“Lay off you old bat,” Katsuki snaps as was becoming routine since his mum had started driving him the short distance to school, “I got it the first million times.”
“I’ll believe that when I see it.”  A finger is pointed at his nose, waving in an almost menacing fashion. “Remember. Here. School Gates. 4:00pm. Don’t you dare think about ditching again.”
Katsuki sneers and kicks open the car door, turning to slams it shut with as much force as possible in retaliation. He stalks through the gates, shouldering his way through a group of loitering students.  They all scatter when they recognise him. In some ways, he prefers dealing with the anger and yelling of his mum than his father’s quiet disappointment. That doesn’t stop it from being annoying as hell.
A spike of pain runs through his hand from where he must have used a little too much force on the door. Maybe he should take his father up on those kickboxing classes. Sure, he had practised punching after reading a bunch of online guides, but reading and solo practice were completely different when compared with real actual fighting.  That was assuming he was going to be getting into more real fights.  He opens and closes his bandaged fist, feeling a slight sting in his wrist and fingers. He glares. Four days on and he can still feel the echo of adrenalin.  The thrill of righteous anger had been so much more satisfying than the directionless rage he was accustomed to. It had rekindled some of that fire that drove him to be the best, to win, chasing away the sickening emptiness which had been dogging his every waking step.
He wants to feel that again…He wants to do something other than listlessly go through the same daily motions as he drifts towards his now uncertain future.
“Hey Bakugō!”
He keeps walking, ignoring whatever loser classmates wanted to talk to him.
“HEY!”
A hand lands on his shoulder and Katsuki twitches, a hairs breath away from spinning and firing a blast point-blank into the pest’s face. Instead, he stops and deliberately turns to glower at the pathetic piece of trash behind him. Murata Taheiji from his homeroom is standing there, one hand on his hip, flanked by two other boys he doesn’t know the names of. Two more appear to stand in front of him, blocking his way. They are all puffed up like they think they’re hot shit. Katsuki scoffs. Are these failures really trying to bully him? HIM!?
“How about you get the fuck out of my way and go find a first year to pick on. You know, someone more on your level.”
That gets him an irritated scowl that transforms into a patronising grin, “You were always such a stuck up prick Bakago…Acting so high and mighty all the time. Not anymore, I know the truth. You’re just like the rest of us.”
“Huh?” he drawls, dragging out the sound, turning so he is facing the boy, “What the fuck are you on about.”
“My dad works for Musutafu police dispatch and he told me something real interesting yesterday.” A dramatic pause, “He said that you got arrested a few nights ago.” There is a laugh that is echoed by the four surrounding him. By now the confrontation has garnered the attention of several onlookers, who are slowly drifting closer.
“All that shit about being a Hero and you got arrested. What’d you do? Steal some candy from a convenience store? We all know you don’t have money.”
Around them, the growing audience is eyeing him with varying levels of eager anticipation like they think he’ll break down and start crying because of some dumb-ass insults. Damn, if that doesn’t just piss him off. How dare these losers think him that weak.
“Don’t compare me to your loser selves,” he dismisses aggressively, making to turn and forcefully elbow his way past. He is stopped by Murata’s hand which is still on this shoulder.
“You know what I think. I think you’re all talk.”
Katsuki stills, letting the words sink and curdle in his stomach. In one short move, he turns and steps in close to Murata so they are almost nose to nose.
“Don’t fucking touch me,” he warns.  The other boy tenses, looking like he wants to say something else equally stupid. If he remembers correctly Murata has some sort of muscle-enhancer, reflex quirk. One of the only worthwhile quirks in the school.
Katsuki jerks his elbow up and around in a quick jab. It smacks into the loser’s face. Crack. Guess having fast reflexes didn’t make a difference when you never saw the blow coming.
There is a cry of surprised pain and shouts of alarm from the peanut gallery. The other boy falls back, tripping over his own feet. It is ridiculously simple to lift a leg and deliver a kick to the stomach, not even a strong kick, so his failed bully thuds onto the ground, tossing up a small puff of sand. Unlike the fight in the ally, there is no rush of excitement, no spike of anger or adrenaline. No exhilaration. He is just irritated and maybe a bit disappointed. That’s what he gets for expecting anything out of the pathetic losers that went Aldera Middle School. They were more annoying than anything else.
Murata rolls around in the dirt, wheezing, trying to draw breath. He can almost imagine Deku running up to complain about his violent tendencies or sprout some shit about Hero’s needing to protect people like Murata didn’t ask for it when he decided to try his luck bullying someone obviously stronger than him.
The reminder of Deku sours his already shitty mood.
“Ah…you broke my nose. YOU BOKE IT…ah…it hurts. Do something!” The idiot calls to his equally idiotic friends as he tries to stop blood from pouring down his face.
Katsuki gazes coolly at the boy before directing his attention at the four other ‘bullies’ standing frozen around him.
“You extras got something else to add to that?” With Murata out of the game, the rest of the pathetic group shuffles about uncertainly.
“Ah…we’re good,” The tallest one says nervously, “Sorry about that Bakugō. No hard feelings right?”
He scoffs.
One of the boys moves forward to pull Murata upright, kneeling and pulling out a tissue to help stem the flow of blood. “Crap. I…I think Murata needs to go to the nurse. This looks serious.” There are a few more apprehensive glances in his direction like the other boys think he’ll insist on continuing the ‘fight’-ha! like this has been anything near a fight- until they are all bloody messes on the ground. Kaksuki rolls his eyes. As if he has the patience to deal with any more of these losers.
“Cowards,” he mutters, shoving past. The crowd of students who had gathered to watch the failed confrontation, scramble to get out of his way. A strong breeze rushes through the school’s courtyard, drawing attention to how quiet it has suddenly gotten. Barely audible whispers follow in his wake and he can feel many sets of eyes on his back, watching.
“He always did have a bad attitude.” They murmur.
“Guess he’s a real delinquent now.”
“…did you hear what Murata said. Do you think Bakugō actually got arrested?”
“That’s got to be fake right? Murata is full of hot air.”
“No way. I believe it. You don’t have to share a class with him, I’m telling you, Bakugō’s gone nuts.”
“Kind of scary when you think about it. With a quirk like that...”
He doesn’t know why they’re all so shocked. This isn’t the first fight he has gotten into on school grounds. Okay, so maybe he’d held off doing any real harm before now, well aware that U.A. would probably check his school record. It had never mattered to him because there was no point in beating up weaklings when he was obviously superior. Except for Deku…the only person he had ever really hurt, the only person he could get away with hurting without repercussions. And now he feels like extra shit. God, what a huge farce it had all been. Kaksuki clenches his fist and growls, wondering if it isn’t too late to ditch and go find somewhere secluded to blow off steam. Anything to escape this feeling of frustration.
He doesn’t have time to make a proper decision because news of his ‘fight’ had obviously spread to the staffroom. One of the second year homeroom teachers comes barrelling out of the school’s front entrance, eyes immediately landing on him.
“What happened!” Their eyes move past him to the bloody Murata, “Go wait in the principles office. Now.”
Well, he didn’t want to deal with his annoying classmates anyway. He stalks away, the sounds of the teacher fussing over Murata growing fainter behind him. When he arrives, the principal’s office is empty and he flings himself down into one of the comfy couches, irritated. The bell for homeroom goes off and Kaksuki remains sprawled across the couch, arm across his face to block out the light and his view of the clock slowly ticking away.
Just as he begins to contemplate leaving, Principle Fukuhara comes strolling into the room.
“ Bakugō,” the man lets out an exasperated sigh, “Sit up please.”
Katsuki moves his arm to peek out and glare at the man, deliberately ignoring the instruction.
“I just finished talking to Ms Yuki and the school’s nurse.  You broke Murata Taheiji’s nose. I hope you realise how serious this situation is and that there will be major consequences. Aldera Middle School does not tolerate this sort of violence on its grounds.”
Silence. That was a fucking lie. Slowly, Katsuki pulls himself upright, meeting the man’s hard stare with his own.
“Well, do you have anything to say for yourself and your disgraceful behaviour..”
Katsuki narrows his eyes, “The idiot was asking for it.”
Obviously, it's the wrong response going by how the skin tightens around the man’s eyes, “I see...I’m sorry you feel that way. Up until now, our school has been more than lenient. We have overlooked your shameful behaviour these last few weeks because we wanted to give you time to settle after going through such as tragic incident. However, I am afraid that this time you have gone too far. Your parents will be notified. You’ll see the school councillor. You will be staying back for after school detention. Since this is your first major incident we…”
“First?” He cuts the man off. He is sick of hearing the moron’s voice. “Hahaha and people say you don’t have a sense of humour.” He laughs an unpleasant laugh which increases in volume until he is almost shouting.
“What sort of shit hole are you running? Three years I’ve been beating up the dumb idiots that come here and now you decide to care. Why is that huh? Is it because I’m no longer going to put this shitty place on the map and become a famous hero! HA!”
He lets his voice quieten, sneering “I’ll never be a hero so you’re shit out of luck.” Finally saying it out loud is like throwing a bucket of water over the embers of an already struggling fire. It hurts deep in his chest. The expression of shocked disbelief is almost worth it.
“Thanks for proving what a worthless profession it is,” he finishes with another hash laugh, rage simmering under his skin. When he tries to stand and leave a hand lands on his shoulder, pushing him back down.
The principal, who still looks somewhat stunned at his sudden outburst, orders, “Sit back down Bakugō! I am far from finished.”
Why do people always feel the need to grab him. He is so fucking sick of everyone pulling and tugging on him, trying to control him and hold him down. Katsuki turns slowly, that simmering rage pulsing, running down his limbs. Pop pop pop go his hands. He feels as explosive fire gathering in behind his eyes and in his shadowy stare. It is not the dramatic, adrenaline-induced anger he had felt when preparing for the ally fight. No, this is a dark burning rage, fuelled by his growing resentment.
“Touch me again,” he growls, low and intimidating, “and I’ll kill you.”
The principal snatches his hand back like he has just been burnt. A poignant silence follows in the wake of his threat.
“Suspension,” the man says, swallowing,  “You’re suspended. I’m calling your parents right now.” And is it just him or does he look genuinely worried? There is even a hint of fear in his wrinkled face. Katsuki takes vindictive joy in the achievement. Finally…finally the worthless morons are seeing him, truly seeing him and not whatever Bakugō -delusion they’d all cooked up in their heads.

Icy Fairytale
Boyinaband (Dave Brown) x Reader (Gender Neutral)
Warnings: Swearing
Genre: Fluff, Romance, RPF (Real Person Fic)
Summary: Falling in love is walking on thin ice in and of itself, but what happens when it's literal? Yeah that's right - two ambitious individuals fall head over heels for one another on the delicate icy ground of a Brighton ice skating rink.
Requested by @onceuponadie Hi! Thank you so much for your request! I'm so sorry for the long wait but I still hope you find the time to enjoy the read! Love, Vy ❤
No matter how hard I try, I can't tie the laces of my skates properly. I can't tell what's wrong with me today but I know something's seriously not right. To be perfectly honest though, I might have an idea or two as to why this is happening to me but I'd rather keep my mouth shut on the subject to avoid the intense blush and the flock of butterflies that will inevitably attack my stomach. And I can't have that many distractions while I'm on the ice.
Oh who am I kidding, my main distraction is always there, either in front of me or by my side. Sometimes even holding onto me for support.
Dave Brown is the name of it.
The name I was completely indifferent to when it was first brought to my attention.
It was a cold rainy day in Brighton, the town I was still on-the-fence about at the time. My trainer had been wanting to collaborate with a trainer from the UK for a while and had finally scheduled and arranged for the two of us to be able to fly out there and meet with him. I thought my trainer was ambitious, but this this new guy was a whole new level of ambitious. I could tell right away he'd be hard to please and I had no issue with that - I am and I always have been a goal-getter; I myself am hard to please and I've often been called an 'obsessed artist' by my trainer so I was beyond excited for this new extraordinary and challenging journey.
I just didn't know that the challenging part wouldn't be the skating.
After a particularly long practice session, once I was finally left alone by my trainers, I stuck around at the skating rink to wind down and feel the freedom of skating how I want and how I know I'm supposed to. Free like a bird gliding through the sky, not bound by any choreography or anyone's rules and opinions. That's when I'm most myself.
And that's when I met him.
The rink was closed and suppose to be reserved for only me and my coaches for the day but him and his friends - now my friend too - Joel probably didn't think much of the notice on the door considering they had waltzed in with zero idea the vicinity was booked.
I was too entranced in my own world to notice their presence by the seats. I only took notice of the fact I wasn't alone when Joel called out to me.
"Are we interrupting? Is this a private session or something? We can leave, sorry for bothering you."
While the other boy was talking, Dave remained silent, blending into the background and not drawing any of my attention to him. And yes, maybe I was supposed to turn them back, tell them to leave and whatnot, but I did the exact opposite.
"Private session's over, you can stick around, it's not a problem." I said, slowly gliding over to the entrance of the rink where the boys were now standing after they finished climbing down the stairs to approach the ice rink.
I stopped in my tracks rather abruptly as to not crash into them, stabilizing myself before offering them my hand for a handshake. "I'm Y/N. Professional figure skater."
I couldn't help but let out a little giggle when their jaws went loose, hanging open in surprise. They were quick to regain their composure, Joel being the one to accept my hand first, followed by Dave, both of them introducing themselves as they did so.
"Cool streak." I casually pointed at the red streak in Dave's hair, "I've always wanted to dye my hair but I'm not allowed to by my trainer."
He scoffed at my remark, "Your trainer? He's got the audacity to boss you around? Does he not realize how lucky he is to have a skater like you to his name?"
I was understandably taken aback by this compliment. I'm used to being given compliments after my performances in competitions, but I've never considered my unchoreographed skating as anything more than mediocre. It was surprising to receive such a positive remark, heartwarming nonetheless though.
"That's so kind of you to say, Dave, thanks." I'm still a long way from knowing how to properly respond to compliments - mostly cause I don't believe them - but I'd like to think I handled that one well. No, I know I handled it well considering Dave, Joel and I have been friends ever since.
As to why they were at the skating rink that day - they wanted to fulfill a New Year's resolution they had made at the start of the year: learning how to ice skate because apparently they were hopeless at it. And yes, they were - they got on the ice with me that day and were dropping like flies. I considered it a miracle if they were even able to get off their asses on their own. I had to pull them up a couple of times - a gesture they paid me back for with lunch afterwards. Following that day, only Dave remained determined to make his resolution count and he kept coming to the ice rink to practice (read: fall and get back up) and learn with my help of course. It's safe to say I've never laughed so much in such a short period of time and never have I ever established a friendship so quickly with anyone ever. I guess being someone's ice skating buddy is a whole different level of a friendship where the rules of a regular friendship don't apply.
I soon came to realize why that was...
Because I suddenly found myself wanting more than a friendship with Dave. It's ridiculous as hell, as all goddamn hell, but I couldn't and still can't help myself. It's these little subtle signs that shine through my behavior, all completely unintentional. The lingering hold meant to keep him stable on his skates. The firm eye contact when I'm trying to get him to focus on his balance. The little touches and hugs all gestures meant to congratulate him on his little wins like falling and managing to get to his feet on his own; managing to make three solid strides without sprawling out on the ice, etc. I must be the worst ice skating instructor ever - as Dave gained more balance and needed my assistance less, I found myself missing the times I literally had to hold him up, his arms wrapped around me and mine around him. I miss the times he held my hand to avoid falling and still fell, sometimes dragging me down with him.
And I'm only gonna miss those times even more after tomorrow because after tomorrow, I'll no longer be in the UK and I'll no longer be there to see Dave's successes and fails. I'll no longer have him be my distraction, the only distraction I've ever approved of and wanted around. I'll no longer have a chance to feed into the temptation of telling Dave what I feel for him. It's a temptation and a fear and excites me just as much as it terrifies me, paralyzes me just thinking of the outcome, especially when I know I won't get my feelings reciprocated. I won't get anything better than a soft rejection from him yet I still want to come clean.
Why, you might be asking - well, it's rather simple, actually. I think he deserves to know how special he's made these last few months. How much he's made me fall in love with this city and the UK as a whole. How much I enjoyed our adventures both on and off the ice. How much fun I had going sightseeing with him as my tour guide.
How much I enjoyed his company and how hard I fell for him in the process.
Today's the last day of 'class' for the both of us but I just so happen to be the only one who's aware of it. Yeah, I've been one hell of a coward and never brought up my inevitable departure despite having been informed over a week ago. Exactly, I had a week to come clean about more things than one, but I chose silence.
And boy did that bad decision come to hit me against the back of the head like a boomerang. A mocking and particularly painful one at that.
Get it together, Y/N. One of these news you'll have to tell him, he has to know you're leaving. And the other...
"Sorry I'm late!" The familiar voice coming in a breathy yell from somewhere in the darkness surrounding the seats awakens me and frees me from my mind's battle with itself. "The rain only makes traffic worse."
Now or never. Don't drag it out and keep adding salt to the wound!
"I'm leaving!" I say, loud enough to be heard clearly despite our distance. Also loud enough to cover up the tremble in my voice. It took a lot of power just to say that one sentence, I wonder how I'm gonna power through having to explain it to him.
"Jeez, did I upset you that badly?" Dave surprises the hell out of me when he steps on the ice, already in his skates which I didn't even notice him put on. I'm not surprised by that to be honest, I'm too caught up in my own thoughts and how I'm displaying them in my demeanor to notice my surroundings.
"N-no, I..." so much for covering up that tremble in my voice, "I have to leave the UK...tomorrow...I'm going back home for a competition and to, you know, get ready for the Olympics...I don't know when or if I'll be back but I was hoping..."
"What? When'd you hear about this? Why so suddenly? Is it that big of an emergency that they inform you literally five minutes in advance?" There are enough emotions in his voice to prevent me from looking at his face, especially his eyes. I'm afraid of what kind of hurt or whatever other emotion I might see there.
I bite the inside of my cheek, "My trainer told me last week...", I admit, gritting my teeth and cringing as my stomach ties itself is several knots that are causing me great discomfort.
There's a pause which I'm assuming is meant for him to collect all his thoughts and properly process them. I'm afraid of what he'll say when he does.
"So I'm the one finding out five minutes before your departure?" He finally asks, the tone of voice he uses making my heart sink a little.
Damn it, Dave I already feel guilty enough, this is unnecessary!
No, no, he has a point and has every right to be upset. Friends don't keep friends in the dark about things like this. About any things really.
Then why do you keep him in the dark about literally EVERYTHING?
This is what I was afraid of - getting the temptation of coming clean. I have nothing to lose after all, I'm leaving tomorrow anyway. I'll lose him one way or another.
"Listen, Dave...", I didn't think this through but I'll improvise it, that's a better option than shutting my mouth and not saying another word, "I was gonna tell you, I really wanted to, but I couldn't...I couldn't bring myself to do it. I still don't want to believe that I'm leaving. I love it here and just the thought of leaving it all behind...it hurts, you know. And 'the more people know the realer it is' is a real thing so I didn't want...." I stop, my voice cutting off completely as I find myself weak on balance. Maybe standing in the middle of an ice rink isn't the best setting for this conversation. "I'm being ridiculous and I'm stalling like a coward." I say that more to myself than to him but I don't let him speak. Instead, I continue my rambling after a brief sigh.
Dave, God bless his soul, stays silent and just looks at me with this curious gaze which is letting me know he's holding back for my sanity's sake, allowing me to take a breather and collect my thoughts before I express them to avoid misunderstanding me.
I inhale, finally ready to start talking, "Alright, here we go...Look, I don't want to end this...friendship between us on a bad note but I don't want it to end with there still being secrets between us so I'm gonna finally say what I've been wanting and not wanting to tell you for a while now. It's on you whether it'll be a bad ending to a good story or not, but I just need to get it off my chest, ok?"
He nods, not at all as hesitantly as I thought he would which is relieving to see, so I continue.
"This is gonna sound pathetic and downright laughable but here it goes - I like you, Dave. The kind of like where I see you as more than a friend and sometimes even wish you would see me the same way as well despite being sure you don't. And please, if you plan on pulling a pity act give me a heads up so I can just walk aw-"
My ramble is put to an end when Dave puts his hand up, pointer finger in the air and almost touching my lips as a gesture to shush me. I am typically one of the hardest people to shut up EVER, but now the words die down on their own as if they are even happy to be put to rest at his request.
"Y/N you are the most talented, most graceful, the kindest and most beautiful and smartest person I have ever met and yet you still also happen to be the densest and most ignorant when it comes to the people around you. You're a people pleaser, I've figured out as much, but goddamn it, you rarely know what a person actually wants. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, this could just be the case with me and an inability to show emotion which I haven't known about all this time, but still - if your dense ass hasn't noticed it yet I'll say it out loud for you and if you still find a way to misinterpret it, I'll spell it out for you in huge neon letters, got it?" He makes something barely alike a pause before sighing, "Y/N L/N, the most densest person in this whole word, you've had me star-struck since day one and I've only been falling deeper and harder in love with you ever since. And you don't have even the slightest clue of what happened to me and my heart a couple minutes ago when you said you were leaving. Believe what you wanna, but words have never crushed me harder ever before and trust me, that says a lot. So, before you go and think you have my emotions figured out, remember that I actually know how to skate."
That's A LOT to take in. It's got layers upon layers of questions followed by answers followed by even more questions that I'm not sure I'm prepared to ask or answer.
So he's liked me since the day we met? Love at first sight? Nah, that shit only exists in movies.
He was hurt by that? I hurt him by not telling him then I hurt him by telling him and I'll hurt him the hardest when I leave tomorrow. How am I supposed to not feel responsible for putting so much pain on him without even realizing it?
And wait - he knows how to skate???
"You can skate? Like, you can can skate? Like, you're not a hopeless case like you've made me believe?" I ask, one of my eyebrows shooting up suspiciously.
Dave goes from looking puzzled to cracking up with laughter within a second after hearing my question, "Oh Y/N, you're so adorable. That's what's got you puzzled the most out of all I just said?"
I narrow my eyes at him, folding my arms over my chest defensively, "Well the rest seems pretty cut-and-dry, if you ask me." I say sarcastically, earning another laugh from him.
It's only now that I notice how confidently he's standing on the ice - as though he's standing on solid, non-slippery ground which is far from the image I have of Dave while on ice. The uncertainty, the lack of stability, it's all disappeared from his still demeanor which now makes a lot more sense.
He smirks at me, "Does it now, densey?"
I frown at the nickname, "Don't call me th-"
He doesn't let me finish, instead presses his lips against mine, the contact making me lose balance on my skates. Luckily, he probably calculated this risk in advance cause his arms wrap around me instantly, preventing me from slipping more than an inch.
"Who needs to be held up now?" He asks, pressing his forehead against mine when we pull away from the kiss.
I keep my eyes closed despite the urge to roll them in playful annoyance, "Oh, shut it."
And he does so by pressing his lips against mine once again.
What will happen once I leave, I have not the slightest clue. Hell, I don't even know what'll happen when we pull away permanently and get off the ice we're standing on. But I do know what's happening right now - I'm kissing Dave Brown and nothing's ever felt this right before.

“So here’s the deal,” Tae started, sitting on the couch in the Room of Requirement, “As far as I can tell, we can’t undo the spell without seriously fucking up her brain.”
“Like how badly?” Namjoon groaned, burying his head in his hands.
“Like mush,” Tae said, shrugging as Hobi elbowed him.
“So we can’t do anything?” Yoongi said, letting his head hit the back of the couch.
“Not that I could find,” Tae said quietly, a sigh leaving his mouth as Jungkook walked in.
“Sorry I’m late,” he said, walking over to a nearby arm chair, “When I told Madame Pomfrey what happened she made me talk to the headmaster.”
“And what’d he say?” Hobi perked up.
“Well good news is that Seonghwa is being expelled,” he started, watching as some of the tension in the room was lessened, “Jin lost Gryffindor 150 house points though!”
“Seriously Kook? That’s what you’re worried about?” Jimin asked.
“Sorry, it’s just,” He started, running a nervous hand through his hair, “Gryffindor hasn’t lost the house cup since I’ve been in school.”
“Can we focus please?” Namjoon asked, shooting an irritated glare to Jungkook., “What did he say about the memory charm?”
“He said if any one of us tries to remove it he’ll take our wands and make sure we never practice magic again,” Jungkook grimaced, “He said its impossible to undo, and if she really wanted that memory gone, it was none of our business.”
“So we just sit here and pretend everything’s fine?” Yoongi asked, an incredulous look on his face.
“At least he’s getting expelled,” Hobi said, leaning against Yoongi’s side.
“I think I’d kill him myself if he wasn’t,” Namjoon muttered, giving Tae an appreciative smile as he leaned over and started rubbing his shoulders.
“Jin’s a mess, Joon,” Hobi added, “You should really talk to him.”
“I just can’t right now,” he sighed, rubbing his eyes with the palm of his hand, “I can’t believe he would do something like this without even telling me she was thinking about it.  I just need some space from him for a while.”
“We can respect that,” Yoongi spoke up, “But don’t forget that you’re madly in love with each other and literally soulmates. One mistake doesn’t change that.”
The boys huddled around Namjoon as his shoulders shook, the feelings of the day finally catching up with him as he let his tears fall freely. The boys stayed like that for a while, comforting each other as worries and concerns kept coming up. When they finally called it a night, they all went their separate ways, no one noticing Jungkook heading in the direction of the hospital wing.
--
You woke up in time for your first class, thanks to Jungkook tossing one of your shirts at your head.
“Get up,” he said, running his hands through his extremely unkempt hair.
“Did you sleep here?” you asked with a yawn, stretching your arms before sliding out of the bed.
“Yeah, I didn’t want Seonghwa messing with you while you slept,” he said, throwing off his dirty shirt and pulling a clean one out of his bag. You couldn’t help but gulp as you set eyes on his abs, eyes roaming the expanse of his bare skin, “Stop staring at me and get dressed.”
You shot him a glare as you spun around, heat filling your body at his laugh. You threw your shirt off, your bare back on display as you shimmied your pants off.  You smiled a little to yourself as his breath hitched from behind you, a strained cough leaving his lips as you pulled on your shirt. Two could play at that game.
You turned to face him, an innocent look replacing your smile, “Jungkookie can you hand me a skirt?”
“Um, I-, what?”
“Do you mind handing me my skirt?” you repeated, smiling widely now at his flushed face. His eyes looking at everything else in the room but you.
“I-uh yeah. I can definitely do that. Skirt,” he blushed harder, quickly reaching into the bag beside him and handing you the skirt that was in there, his head turned the other way.
“Thanks, Kook,” you laughed, pulling on your skirt. You slipped your shoes on, throwing your hair into a bun before turning back to where he stood.
“Ready?” he asked, hand scratching the back of his head.
“Yeah, I’m ready,” you said, “Let’s do this.”
Jungkook escorted you to your classes, along with Jimin, for the rest of the day. Whispers following you wherever you went. You half expected your classmates to be understanding about this whole thing, but based on the whispers you had been hearing, it seemed like whatever happened was getting blamed on you.  You shouldn’t have been that shocked.
“How did they even find out about this?” Jimin hissed,  shooting a glare at a third year Gryffindor who had said some pretty shitty things.
“I don’t know,” Jungkook said, “No one else knew about this besides the 7 of us and Seonghwa.  And since he got kicked out this morning I doubt he told anyone.”
The three of you kept walking towards the library, silently pondering how the hell the whole school found out about your erased memory.
“This is giving me a headache,” you groaned, pushing the doors open.
“Don’t hurt your brain, please,” Jungkook said, “I need it for when we study potions.”
“I’ll try to figure this all out while you guys study,” Jimin said, waving you two into the library and hurrying down the hallway.
“Well, there’s no point in wasting time then,” you said, “we’ve been slacking off, Kook.”
“I know,” he sighed, sitting down at your usual table, “and exams are only two weeks away.”
“You’ll do ok,” You said, smiling reassuringly at him, “You have me as a tutor, how could you fail?”
His nose scrunched, fake disgusted face as he snorted at you, “That doesn’t reassure me at all, princess.”
You kicked him under the table, a smile growing on your face as he laughed. You started pulling your books out, quill and ink soon following.  Glancing at Jungkook as he bent down to do the same.
He looked as handsome as he normally did, hair messy in all of the perfect ways. Your heartbeat sped up the more you looked at him, and how far the two of you had come. A few months ago you would have never been caught dead sitting across from him in the library three days of the week. But now you were starting to enjoy his company, and honestly, you considered him a friend.
“Are you gonna teach me potions or just stare at me today?” his voice drew you from your thoughts, cocky grin back on his face as he shot you a wink.
“Shut up,” you mumbled, directing him to turn his book to a certain page, and the two of you got to work.
It was a comfortable silence, only talking when Jungkook asked you a question about the work or when the two of you took breaks. With tired, ink covered hands scrawling the last words of your homework you sagged in your seat. You let out a big yawn, glancing at where Jungkook still sat, hard at work. Looking through his potions notes.
“Jungkook,” you whispered, “I think that’s enough for the night.”
“Mh,” he hummed noncommittally, eyes never leaving his notes.
“You’re not listening to me!” you exclaimed, mouth pulling into a smirk, “You’re the worst quidditch player I’ve ever seen.”
You paused, waiting for him to have some sort of reaction, but he sat still reading, scratching his forehead.
“You have a tiny dick,” you said, pouting as he sat with a blank face, “You’re not half bad,” you said, last ditch effort to get him to respond in any way.
Jungkook just smiled, putting his notes down before looking at you, “I’m the best quidditch player at Hogwarts, you wouldn’t know anything about my dick, and you’re not half bad yourself, snake princess. Now if you’re done trying to get my attention, we really should get going.”
You scowled at him, putting your materials away as he teased you.
“How was I supposed to know you could hear me?” you whined, pouting as Jungkook tugged your bag into his arms.
“I responded to you the first time!” Jungkook laughed, holding the library door open for you.
“You hummed! That’s totally not an answer!”
“Maybe not to you,” he grinned, ignoring the pout the was firmly set on your face, “Ah, c’mon, Princess. Who would I be if I didn’t mess with you at least a little bit?”
“A decent human being,” you grumbled, ignoring his laugh as you turned the corner to the dungeons, not even realizing Jungkook had walked you back, “You didn’t have to walk me back.”
“It’s no big deal,” he said, handing you your bag and stuffing his hands in his pockets.
“I know I don’t remember everything that happened,” you started, his doe eyes softening, “but I really feel safe around you, Kookie. I was thinking we could try to be friends?”
“Just friends?” he asked, tilting his head to the side, “But what if I want to be more than just friends, princess?”
You swear your heart stopped in the moment, his cocky grin enough to stop it beat in its tracks. Your eyes fluttering shut as he started leaning in.
“Goodnight, princess,” He whispered, voice ghosting on the shell of your ear. You jumped at his voice, eyes opening quickly at the realization that he was not about to kiss you.
When he leaned back, you could’ve slapped the smug grin he had on his face right off, hand coming out to give you a wave as he spun on his heels.
You trudged into the common room, ignoring the taunts of your classmates and walking right past Jimin and Yoongi. Giddy smile never leaving your lips even as your head hit your pillow.
It was the best you had slept in weeks.

Disc three-slide one: Kageyama Y/N 🤍
You hummed quietly as you grabbed your books from your locker. Completely unaware of the boy behind you. “Hi Kageyama.” You heard a whisper in your ear. You jumped and put a hand over you chest. “Jesus, Miya.” You sigh but quickly push that aside. “I wanted to see who stole my boy Suna’s heart.” Atsumu gave a closed eye smile.
You blushed and looked away as the twin stared down at you. “You’re so much cuter than how Suna described you, ya know.” He said and you covered your face in embarrassment but your ears gave it all away due to your neatly kept ponytail. Atsumu thought it was so funny and cute how flustered you got with such little words. “Thanks i guess, is there anything I can help you with?” You asked. “You’re working on that project with Suna during lunch right?” He asked and you nodded.
“Darn.” He snapped his fingers and put his hand on his hip. He seemed to be in deep thought. “I need help with chemistry so I was wondering if you could help me study for an upcoming exam.” He chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. “I’d be more than happy to help you out, Miya. But you have practice before and after school, and I’m booked during lunch because of the project.” You frowned.
“I know.” He sighed, “Guess I’ll try to ask ‘samu but he yells and I don’t like the way he teaches.” He whined. You fiddled with your fingers not knowing what to say, I mean you wanna help him out. If he fails his test he won’t be able to play volleyball and you don’t want that. “I-if you want...I can tutor you after practice for a bit...” you spoke up completely unaware of your fox like boyfriend towering behind you. “Tutor for what?” You heard and long arms wrapped around your waist from behind. Suna rested his chin on your head and gave pissy hair a glare.
“Rin—I thought we agreed on no PDA...” your face was flushed red. “But princess, how am I supposed to show players like ‘Tsumu that you’re my girlfriend.” It sounded more like a statement than a question. “He just needs a tutor for chemistry..” you answered honestly. “Is that so..? Can I join the study party too? I’m not doing so hot in chemistry as well.” Suna admitted and you turned your head to look at him. “I don’t see why not..” you told him.
Before you knew it his hand grabbed your chin and he stole your lips into a kiss. You kissed back but quickly pulled away because you were at school and now everyone was looking at you three. You looked back at Atsumu and his eye twitched when he looked at your boyfriend.
“So today after practice is fine?” You asked and they both looked down at you and nodded. “Okay, I’ll see you both later.” You said simply and pulled away from Suna’s grasp. You closed your locker with your needed books in hand and you walked away. You head was down and your books covered your face to hide your blush.
“Bitch what was that?!” You friend whisper yelled and shook your shoulder. You looked at her and shook your head, “I honestly don’t know.” You said. “Are you dating, Suna?” She asked and you nodded. “Eeeep! I need details later okay?” She asked with a wink and you hesitantly nodded. “Bye bye!” She waved and you waved back to head to your first class.
You shared a class with Suna so when he sat next to you to pair up for the project again everyone was looking at your every move. Almost everyone saw what went down by your locker and Suna didn’t seem like the type to do something so bold. Let alone with the top student of the class. Word spreaded around fast like wildfire and Suna was satisfied. All that PDA that went down in the morning was forgotten in his mind and he never touched you for the rest of the day.

You were originally going to go to the library after school to wait for the boys but Atsumu persistently asked if you could come see their practice. You eventually agreed and wondered When was the last time you’ve been on a volleyball court.
Atsumu was chatting your ear away about how good of a setter he was and he started explaining what a setter is and you tried not to laugh because you know how volleyball works and not only were you a good setter in middle school but your cousin is an amazing setter as well.
But he seemed so happy you didn’t want to burst his bubble. “Well well well, who do we have here?” You heard and turned around. “‘Samu! Look isn’t Suna’s girlfriend cute!~” Atsumu patted your head and you removed his hand. “She’s so adorable I just wanna gobble her up.” He gave a smirk to Suna’s way and they both shot daggers at one another. You stood in between them completely oblivious to their fighting and you gave a slight bow to Osamu. “Nice to meet you. Rin has told me a lot about you. It’s nice to know he has a good friend.” You smiled softly.
Osamu coughed and looked away,
Why are you so fucking cute?!
Suna really did get such a cute girlfriend. “It’s nice to meet you too, please take care of Suna and my idiot brother since he told me you would tutor him today.” He said and you nodded. “Whatever, we’re gonna be late. Y/N, wait by the gym entrance for our captain, Kita or the coach.” Suna said and you nodded. He gave you a small smile and he walked away to the club room with the twins following behind him.
The coach arrived first and asked who you were and you explained that you would be tutoring Suna and Atsumu after practice. You apologized for barging in but he shook his head and said that it was fine.
“If you don’t have anything to do, do you mind helping me out with a few things while they practice?” He asked and you shook your head. “I don’t mind what do you need help with?” You asked. He gave you several tasks such as a small inventory in the storage area, filling up the water bottles and getting the colored vests ready for a practice match. You were honestly buzzing with excitement, you haven’t seen a volleyball game so up close in ages. Even if it was simply a practice match. You managed to meet the rear of Inarizaki’s volleyball team and Kita was very kind to you and it made you wish he was your older brother.
You helped out the coach more by taking a few notes for him as he talked and you thanked god you were such a fast note taker because you managed to get every single word down. Everyone on the team especially the twins and your boyfriend noticed how good and natural you worked around the court. “Suna ask her to be team manager.” Osamu nudged him. “Hell no.” He shook his head. He sees you enough during class, and in all honesty he doesn’t wanna actually catch feelings for you. You were naturally sweet and he didn’t want to feel more like a piece of shit.
“Why does Suna have to ask her?” Ojiro asked, by this time everyone turned to look at the three second years and Atsumu spoke up with a smirk. “She’s Suna’s girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend?!” They all repeated in shock.
“What the fuck does she see in you anyways? Poor girl must be blind.” Hitoshi said which lowkey pissed off your boyfriend. “Nah he’s more like her Prince Charming because he was so romantic on their first date.” Atsumu teased which caused Suna’s ears to turn red. “That’s hard to believe.” One of their teammates spoke up. “Either way I think, Kageyama is doing a good job. If he won’t ask her, I will.” Kita said seriously and the three second years gulped.
The gym doors opened and the team they would be up against arrived.
