Quincey Morris/Jack Seward

I like them! I really do. Though, I will admit that I'm more insane interested with every side of suitor's trio that has Arthur in it - mostly because I feel like he's a bit underappreciated!

All three suitors are so tender with each other, and the way Jack immediately brightens when he sees Quincey while having the worst day of a no good very bad pretty terrible week is saying so much! Another thing about them: I feel like from outside perspective it might be surprising that this is not a friend of a friend situation? An amieble aristocrat being friends with wealthy American and a pretty well-off doctor is not too surprising, but two people with (seemingly) completely different interests and personalities!.. Except they like each other! A lot! They think the other one is delightful all around! And have common hobbies of being adventurous and ride-or-die for people they care about. Them being paired together for the last roadtrip is even more sad - they might've met on the roadtrip too!

It was probably comforting, to have the person you trust and love travelling with you again, especially because of how high the stakes were this time! But with your dear friend you both settle into familiar routine, and it makes you breathe easier.

And then it ends.

The another guy (s) is the rest of their friend group, including Lucy and the unnamed post-canon wives. Except Van Helsing, the proud father figure!

Lemonberry Ice~

OT3!! Throuples of any kind and formation are my weakness, my Achilles heel. So is angst. And Lemonberry ice caught me, hook, line and sinker! I love, love when a person who seems to be only in love with one of the couple has actually fallen for both! I love when the couple is also smitten with said person. I love when said person has to fake their death/pretend to be dead. I love it when it happens so many times they no longer have any hope of knowing whether it was truth this time. I love when they get married, all three of them, with the small group of trusted friends as guests, only for one to go on the lam. When they have never been together, but cannot help but wish, wish, wish. When B. and B. share their wedding night with a person they cannot keep for more than that.

When L. tries to look after their children, is always few steps behind or ahead, but never in time. When their children do not know what 'Lemony' means. When they might've been told, but the distressed chronically late narrator has no way of knowing and even less desire to think of this possibility and what it could mean.

When L. and B. had the same chaperone. When B. and L. have the same flair for dramatics. When B.'s eldest daughter might have the eyes of a family that shares a taxi, and not his own. When their youngest once thought about pushing one wicked man in the right direction. When their middle child loves knowing the right word definitions.

Also movie!L having big awkwardly cut photograph of B. and B.

Do you ever think if Baudelaire household had too many teacups? Had an odd number of silverware? If Beatrice and Bertrand were strangely attached to certain little things that neither of them really used? If their children never put too much thought into it, but also started treating these things with more care than others?

Would B. and B. keep L.'s favourite mug? His old shoe that somehow found its way in the attic? Was there a third chair near the too-big a fireplace where usually there are two?

And of course. How did Lemony learn of the fire? Was this day no different from all other days, until he picked up a newspaper to read? How was it - to learn such devastating personal news through a newspaper? To feel how the world starts to rearrange itself into something more bleak and sinister, with the desperate hope for this to turn out to be another scheme still dwindling down.

They make me a little cray-cray =))

Irma Lair/Cornelia Hale

I see your vision! To tell the truth, this ask made me reread the beginning of the comics - I forgot how good they were! It also made me realise that both Irma and Cornelia realised what they could do first - and that Cornelia was the most skeptical and suspicious about their newfound powers (very Susan Pevensie of her! She might've survived in Madoka Magica!). And how their reactions to suddenly having magical powers were something like this:

Irma: Oh this is so nice! ☺️ I can have a little fun in the bathroom with water! (And maybe cheat on the tests too?)

Cornelia: No one knows how good I already am with my power! Just one wish was enough for my room to be clean again!! I can't wait to see what else can I do!!

This made me think that Cornelia could make a wonderful mad scientist!

I like their banter, the way Irma is more easygoing and more likely to crack a joke and Cornelia more witty and strategic, but also very caring.

The other guy is mostly there because I remember enjoying the dynamics between Cornelia and at least one of her boyfriends from later chapters, so!

Also the way these two often share a smirk is adorable! I like that they don't often see eye to eye too - it makes them all the more interesting!

Ok, I've somehow seen quite a few people around saying some things that I just cannot agree with, so let's discuss them:

1) Tommy had no character development. He's a stale character. I'm gonna guess this people have never seen a Tommy stream or a stream involving Tommy at all. This boy has sacrificed so much and changed so much I'm shocked at how many people don't seem to see it.

Let's analyse this from yesterday's stream: he finally gave up the disks after realizing that they really aren't worth his friendships, he apologized multiple times for the things he's done, he recognizes that he's done some awful stuff and that he was becoming someone he didn't want to and actively decided to change his course of action (it is to be pointed out that he and Ranboo are literally the only characters who admitted to their wrongdoings, everyone else still acts like they're on this moral high horse, which is kind of frustrating), at the bench he admitted that, no matter what he's been through, it's not an excuse for his actions. Also he immediately took charge in trying to protect his old friends and the country that threw him out and left him to die trying to left any grudges aside in favour of working towards their common goal. Old Tommy would never have done that! Remember he refused Eret's help multiple times even when he was exiled with Wilbur because of his betrayal? This boy has changed...

2) He betrayed Techno. No he didn't. He was clear with Techno from the start about not wanting to harm Tubbo or destroy L'Manburg. What happened there is that neither of them listened to the other, they both knew their objectives didn't align, but they thought they could change each other mind.

This is obvious when Tommy asks Techno: "You're not really siding with Dream are you?" Or something along those lines. Also it is to be pointed out that Techno did say that he still respected Tommy and that he would respect his decision (which is honestly the most character development we've seen from Techno so far...) and also one more little detail: Techno was siding with Tommy's past abuser! How could Techno think Tommy would be on board with that? He saw the effects of Dream's influence on him! (This is honestly just so frustrating to me...)

3) Niki did nothing wrong. I'm sorry, I know this is controversial and I probably should look at her vod, so my opinion may change later on but, for now though, Niki what the Hell was that?!

Let's start from how everyone immediately believed Dream's accusations, no questions asked. Tommy was right in being angry that no-one (aside from Techno and later Ranboo) stood up for him. Hell, they all still believed Dream after he literally admitted to manipulating Tubbo for the disk, to the fact that he literally only cared about the disk and the fact that his objective was to destroy L'Manburg from the start! He basically told them all to their faces that he was using and manipulating them and they all still went: "yep, seems trustworthy to me!"... are you kidding me?!

So, if everyone was acting so extremely dumb, why am I singling out Niki? Because of the way she attacked Tommy mostly, it was just so hypocritical. She was in the revolution, she saw him fight for L'Manburg, time and time again. And sure, he made a mistake, burned down George's house (which was an accident by the way) and he got punished for it! She knows he'd been exiled because they met before now in canon. He already paid for his actions! Heck, he's literally the only one on the server who ever had any official repercussions for his actions! And still she blames him for all of their problems! The guy who, once more, was willing to give up everything, including his last life, for people who, honestly, don't deserve it one bit. She blamed him constantly, said that he was nothing but a lier (sure he didn't admit immediately to his crime when he burned down George's house, but he did at the end! And that was the only time he lied in an important way! Come on! Plus, as I said before, he already paid for his crimes!)

Also Tommy hasn't been in L'Manburg in months in smp time, and everything fell apart anyway, it just feels very unfair to blame him for everything. Especially when you have Dream right there, admitting to be a manipulative ass and wanting to destroy everything! And especially after you have a 16 year old child-soldier telling everyone in a very obvious way that Dream abused him in exile. (He didn't state it directly, but it was impossible not to understand). At this point it just really feels like victim blaming. I'm sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding Niki's character, admittingly I don't watch her, so feel free to correct me if I missed something big, but that's just how it felt.

Some last few considerations:

I'm gonna admit I'm sad Techno and Tommy split apart. I loved them together and I really don't think L'Manburg deserves Tommy right now... because it is true that they threw him out at the first hardship they encountered and then left him to die, it is true that they never really tried to get him back and it's true that they never stood up for him. Time and time again they forced him in the position of the hero and then acted like that was just what he owed them, but it isn't. He doesn't owe them his life, he doesn't owe them his loyalty, he didn't even owe them his disks! But this is Tommy's choice (even Techno recognized) and he chose to, once again, be selfless. He could have stayed with Techno and chose the easy path, the safe path, but he decided to stand up for what he believes in and fight for his ideals and I think that's something we can all respect in a character.

I hope the others (especially the adults... please don't let the literal kids of the server be the only rational ones...) will be able to put their grudges aside and fight together for the greater good... but I have the feeling they'll fall apart. So adamant in not being on Tommy's side that they'll end up helping Dream take over. Also I'm so afraid for Ranboo and Tommy right now, I feel like at least one of them isn't gonna survive today (either that or Ranboo will switch sides).

Also, Punz is not gonna betray them in this battle, or at least, that wasn't the plan he and Dream had. Dream was planning to do something big that would force him to leave for a while and was planning to leave Punz there as his spy on the inside. Their plan is going swimmingly so far...

(Also, on a little note, I love how supportive and understanding Fundy was of Ranboo after the reveal of his "betrayal". He thinks Ranboo was right, he still trusts him and I just... their friendship just makes me so soft and it's honestly my favourite relationship in the smp)

; My Thoughts: I rec’d this fic very recently but I still remember it well. Demon Jungkook is weirdly caring for her despite her being human and him being demon from the Underworld. The reader...well she has no sense of self-preservation honestly haha. I enjoyed everything about this; the smut, the world building, the characterisation and so much more!

Matters Of The Heart by @hobidreams

; My Thoughts: I maintain that I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH. I think it’s probably like...in my top list of fics all year. It’s just...amazing. The writing feels authentic to the era and the reader is a delightful rebel that we all love from Victorian eras after all. And of course...Mr Jung is just a ridiculously attractive man that I would like very much. Rain is apparently making a follow up drabble AND I AM EXCITED!

And then there’s Hoseok, the grumpy businessman who’s incredibly rich yet adorably dotes on his daughter and doesn’t get mad at her. It’s just...fluffy and angsty softness. I love it so much, and the smut was...oof. I can’t wait to read more!

; My Thoughts: I MAINTAIN THAT I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH AHHH. It’s so unique and beautifully written, such a delight to read and I enjoy it every time I do. The mixing of the ages throughout the years and how Hoseok evidently has knowledge of their future together but doesn’t tell her. It’s so sweet and yet so organic how they come together. It could be weird and creepy given the difference in ages continuously but it’s not. He’s always a gentleman and it’s just...it’s just wonderful honestly.

; My Thoughts: Okay but like, I still feel the pain and sadness when I read this fic the first time :( the reader’s confusion and pain at being abandoned so thoughtlessly despite her efforts is so hard to read. I still hate Jimin for doing it, and I’m glad that he stopped and realised that he was making a mistake. But poor reader will never be able to fully trust him again and always be worried to some degree :(

Lost And Found 01: Tick Tock by @fortunexkookie

; My Thoughts: Okay so like...a lot of my favourite fics ever this year have been Hoseok based. You’re not surprised, I know you’re not. But this fic is just...I cannot WAIT for the second and third parts of it. The world is so richly realised and the characters have such phenomenal characterisation and development in just this one chapter. It’s so...involving to read, you just get lost in it. It’s truly a beautiful work of art that I can’t wait to see how everything goes!

Jungle Park by @jimlingss

; Synopsis: The equation is simple. Hoseok needs to hire someone. You need a job. Except like any actual equation, it’s not fucking simple at all! Not when you have to add the fact that he was forced to hire someone he doesn’t want in his office, he has little respect for your job in general, and oh yeah…once upon a time you might have—*CENSORED*.

; My Thoughts: I looooooved reading this fic. Jimlingsss is basically why I made Flower a once a week thing, because when I was reading Jungle Park, I was always SO EXCITED for Monday’s because it meant I got to read a new Jungle Park! It’s such a slow burn romance but it’s so delightful and rewarding watching this cold and moody lawyer warm up to his bright and bubbly HR person. And then you learn the backstory between them and...I just loved it all!

Magic and Mysteries by @jimlingss

; Synopsis: Everything’s okay….EVERYTHING’S OKAY, YOU’RE FINE. Look, you just have one tiny problem. It’s an itty-bitty issue. Not that big of a deal. So what if you don’t have a familiar and you’re about to take on the ENTIRE family business. Oh, you have a name to uphold? Everyone’s depending on you? Great. That’s just fantastic. But it’s fine. You’ll get your familiar and you’ll run the best damn potion shop the world has ever seen. Everything will be fine, right?

; My Thoughts: Again, another Jimlingsss story but honestly, they’re always golden. I particularly remember this fic because I read it when I was in Korea. It’s so delightful and fun, reminding me a lot of Kiki’s Delivery Service. Jimin is a little rascal but I love that he teases her because he genuinely cares. It’s all just a truly wonderful fic and story put together in one delightful package.

; My Thoughts: I do quite enjoy reading Hogwarts fics, and I particularly enjoying reading Hogwarts fics with BTS as students as long as there’s no smut in it. Gukyi’s Hogwarts series was such a delight to read and I remember reading this fic with a smile on my face. Wanting to scream at reader because POOR TAEHYUNG OBVIOUSLY LOVES YOU. Poor guy trying so hard despite everything :(

Lovers’ Fuck Rule by @prolixitae

; Synopsis: jungkook is still new to your established relationship with hoseok, which means he needs a little help feeling competent sometimes. especially when it comes to sex. alternatively, the span of a poly relationship over inaccurate amounts of fucking.

; My Thoughts: Okay look, I don’t do shipping or anything but Junghope is one of the best friendships/combinations there is. And this fic encapsulates why. Jungkook is so nervous with her whereas Hoseok is just...so unbelievably calm and dominant about it all. He knows exactly what gets his girl off and it’s sweet how amused he is by Jungkook. You can feel the slight insecurity almost off Jungkook because Hoseok has been with her for years but you can also feel the genuine love the reader has for him, along with the friendship Hoseok obviously has too. I really enjoyed it all!

Everything about this fic was just...wonderful and it felt delightfully 1950s. The lingo and outfits, the cars and everything. It was hot and Hoseok deserves everything. I still kinda hope there’ll be a drabble or something in the future but either way, read this as it’s soooo good!

You’d think with it being a ‘win a date with a pornstar fic’ that he’d be a little weird or something about it (there’s nothing wrong with pornstars but you can imagine it’d be odd) but Jimin is just...so sweet and kind and polite! He’s just...the perfect boyfriend honestly. It just so happens he does porn too...I honestly loved this so much!

He’s such a delightful character who you just want to protect and teach about the world because he has that kind of delightful innoncence. I loved it so much!

Jimin is delightful and Yoongi is sweet, it’s just so perfect, I love it all. Namjoon is still a dick, sorry Steph. I also maintain that I’m secretly marrying Hoseok. Everyone go read it and strap yourselves in for a long ride!

But he’s a monster who gets a best friend in the reader and who slowly falls in love with her. I SWEAR MY HEART DIED WHEN THE THING HAPPENED :( Poor Hoseok, my sweet boy. But then...the end! And I was like ‘waaah’ I mean, I don’t know how she’s gonna live there but...I have hope for this odd couple because their love survived a lot <333

; My Thoughts: Ahh...this is such a well written fic and I enjoy it so much. Jungkook has such good characterisation in it and you can feel that the readers heart is in the right place! I really like it and it reads so well, like it actually reads like a legitimate novel tbh!

; My Thoughts: Okay look...this fic is just great. I’m eagerly anticipating the second part because the first was just written so well. It’s so unique in that the readers already has a boyfriend, Jimin, who is not only okay with her being a pornstar but is the one who films her! But then you’ve got Hoseok, the new guy on the block who’s ridiculously good. The sex is just...it feels so realistic and like it’s two people in a relationship having sex and not just being filmed on camera. God I want them together lol

; My Thoughts: Look...I still can’t believe I read a fic with zombie sex and that I actively WANTED to read a fic with zombie sex lol. But disregarding that, it’s still phenomenally written and the world is built up so well! I loved reading this and it didn’t feel as long as it’s word count. The characters were interesting with little tidbits being thrown out there that made you a little more interested in their history.

; My Thoughts: At this point, I think I just love anything by this author. But this fic was so...real and beautiful. The connection between two people who want more from life and deserve from life, who are both stuck. Hoseok’s story is heart breaking and getting to see him slowly come to life and learn to care for himself again was beautiful, while seeing the reader getting to care for herself by caring for him was just beautiful as well.

; My Thoughts: I love this story so much :333 it’s such an interesting twist on hybrid’s in that there are ones who get discarded because they’re ‘defective’. It’s horrible to think about and I just want to love both of them. Jin is so...sweet and he tries so hard, being the one to put himself out there with the reader because Taehyung is just a sweet and shy bub. Seeing them come to life slowly is so rewarding!

And she loves him, accepting him as he is and not pushing for more than he’s willing to give!

He’s not hugely bothered about anything and the way he goes along wtih the reader and even helps her to film her videos, even going so far as to...well going for her ;). And yet they both just think that they’re friends when nope, you’re idiots because you LOVE EACH OTHER. I genuinely love it so much, always a favourite and will remain close to my heart <333

so his favourite thing about the house he buys after he retires is that he can finally have the home library he always wanted and every shelf is filled with books from every genre ever

his favourite colour is actually yellow, but being unit chief means he has to look professional so it’s not really a good idea, but Penelope knitted him a yellow scarf that he wears every year without fail

although he may not seem like it, he’s really good at giving meaningful presents and all of the team, including the BAU kids are always in awe of just how good he is- especially when some of them don’t even know what they want

one of his favourite things to do is capture the soft and domestic moments of the team because it reminds him of the reasons why they do things so he just an entire album of them (they all know he does this and subtly take photos when he’s being domestic)

he’s not an idiot, so he knows when Jack is only pretending to be asleep, but he also knows he won’t be a kid forever, so he will always carry him into the house no matter how obvious it is he’s awake

Also, I live in England so I’m doing it based on those stereotypes (I say stereotypes, I mean I’m turning them into teachers I’ve had)

Spencer: the absolute life-saver of a chemistry teacher. It doesn’t matter what day it is, whether it’s Friday after school or Tuesday morning, he’s there to help you. Will never make you feel stupid for not understanding “basic” concepts because he gets that sometimes things just don’t click and will help you until it does, no matter how long it takes or how many different ways you need to try it. Everyone’s favourite science teacher. Sometimes gives you more detail than you need, but it is always so the thing you’re learning about makes more sense.

JJ: the P.E teacher. But not the normal P.E teacher that literally doesn’t care so long as you make some sort of effort. No, she’s the P.E teacher that also coaches the netball team, and is absolutely obsessed with netball as always. Her favourites are the girls that play netball: she’ll gossip with them, tell them to help the others and get them out of lesson whenever needed. So it’s great if you play netball, but not if you don’t.

Derek: Hehe. Okay, so he’s a design technology teacher, but the really nice one that just supports everyone with whatever it is they’re doing. Really big on safety, but not in a patronising way, in a: guys if someone gets hurt it’ll be terrible way. Everyone loves him and hopes they get him for D.T because he’s just the best. Never judges you based off your abilities, only cares about whether or not you tried and will always use his lunch break to try and salvage your project.

Penelope: So you know how there are always two art teachers and one of them is always insane? Well, Penelope is the other art teacher that everyone genuinely loves. She really cares about the subject, but she’s not pretentious about it and she encourages the students to do whatever feels right. She loves showing the class photos of her cats, never snaps or shouts when people forgets thing and is always willing to demonstrate how to do something, no matter how many times she’s already done it before. Is an absolute angel, that always gets distracted by other more fun projects, and is definitely dating Derek.

Rossi: Your history teacher that was old enough to have actual memories of the things you’re learning about. Is a good enough teacher, but sometimes you do wonder whether you’re actually learning the stuff you need to. Is absolutely obsessed with creating debates over the smallest things, even though he always undermines the people that actually get involved. Unironically says he’s going to play devil’s advocate and definitely says some stuff he probably shouldn’t.

Emily: The french teacher that is somehow terrifying, lovely and somewhat inappropriate, all at the same time. She’s terrifying if you leave your speaking booklet at home, and if you don’t actually try and put on an accent, but will also bring in snacks for the last day of term and definitely has thousands of stories about the time she spent in France. Will destroy you if you don’t hand in your homework, or if you used google translate, but praises the people that hand it in, no matter how bad it was. Also lets you watch French films- defo makes inappropriate comments if there’s a kissing scene.

Hotch: the other history teacher that nobody really knows where they stand with because he’s a bit of a confusing character, but is deep down an absolute angel and is absolutely loved by the people he teaches. Seems to always be miserable and sad, but is actually just a front because when they like you, or when you’re nice, they get really happy and will willingly/deliberately make jokes, but not at anyone else’s expense. Is younger than the other history teacher but has no idea what pop culture is which means references go over his head. Will mark every exam question you give him way too harshly in preparation, but really does want you to do well. Will not accept people saying they’re bad at history, and is definitely the emotional support teacher for multiple people- doesn’t tell you that you’re overthinking when you cry, but will remind you that he has faith in you and is just an overall bean.

This low-key got out of hand, but I hope you liked it!!

Crash Landing on You, ep 12

This might have been my favourite episode of the whole series so far. It made me laugh and it made me cry. This show is really, really close on being my favourite drama ever (or at least favourite rom com). It just depends on how it ends. DON’T LET ME DOWN CLOY.

Cheol Gang really underestimated Se Ri. I don’t think he expected her to think so quick on her feet.

I like this reoccurring theme of Se Ri and Jeong Hyeok protecting one another. It was really stressed this episode, with how Se Ri saved him in the garage, the watch and the Jeong Hyeok hearing Se Ri’s message.

One thing with Se Ri is that she does repay her debts. She didn’t have to give the reporter guy a job but she she is grateful for what he did. I think that if she can give Eun Dong that 100 millon won, she will.

I was dying at the boys and their mission. Man Bok, eavesdropping on the latest gossip at the office. Ju Meok had access the internet and promptly watched the last few episodes of that drama he never finished. I wonder if he started something new? Eun Dong getting sucked into a game, unknowingly getting into a beef with Jeong Hyeok and then getting ready to throw down in real life. Chi Su randomly getting a job and then ignoring the phone when it Jeong Hyeok was calling to order. Gwang Beom getting stopped on the street by talent agencies.

I cannot believe that pouty Jeong Hyeok was all because Se Ri scolded him about the video game.

My favourite scene (maybe ever) is the “drunken” conversation that Se Ri and Jeong Hyeok had. One the one hand I’m a little sad that Jeong Hyeok needed the pretense of being drunk. But then it’s also clear that they both know that neither is drunk. It was such a massive thing for Jeong Hyeok to say. Firstly, he’s not always the most expressive with his feelings (he shows, not tells). Secondly, the first time in a long time, he is planning for the future. He is seeing the future. He wants to stay with Se Ri. He wants to marry her, have a family and grow old with her. He wants to go back to playing the piano. Se Ri handled it well and simply told he would have to stay by her side to do all that.

The boys meeting up with Jeong Hyeok was great. He really is a father figure to the Ju Meok, Gwang Beom and Eun Dong (especially Eun Dong). Chi Su is a bit older so it’s not the same but he also really respects Jeong Hyeok. They are family.

But it’s almost more important how they reacted to seeing Se Ri. They were all so happy, including Chi Su. With a couple of exceptions, no one else has welcomed Se Ri this way. It means so much to Se Ri that she has found her true brothers. She found her family in these North Korean soldiers. Though Jeong Hyeok breaking up the group hug when he thought it went on too long made me laugh.

How great was it that they all just accept that Jeong Hyeok and Se Ri are in love? And they are comfortable enough just to tease Jeong Hyeok like crazy about it?

As for the going ons in North Korea: The ajummas rallying around their friend, regardless of what it may cost them was really touching. And of course Seung Jun was trying to destroy Se Ri’s family because they conned his father. I do think that Dan and Seung Jun would be good for one another. It also looks like Jeong Hyeok’s family is in danger. I’m not sure how Cheol Gang is getting messages across to North Korea but this is not good.

Se Ri’s sister in law is ruthless. She’s really the one pulling the strings because Se Ri’s brother is spineless. Her having an alliance with Cheol Gang is going to be very bad for Se Ri and Jeong Hyeok

It was important to bookend Se Ri saying she was sorry she was born to Jeong Hyeok telling he was thankful that she was born. Because she is the one he loves. It broke my heart to see how Se Ri was abandoned but I also became more convinced that Se Ri’s mom will play an important role in helping Se Ri and Joeng Hyeok.

Jeong Hyeok heard Se Ri’s recording and then bringing back their earlier conversation about fate and coincidence was a nice touch. He now knows that they are more connected that he thought. I wonder if Se Ri has listened to it recently and put it together?

I can’t believe there are only four episodes left. I love this drama so much, despite all the suspension of disbelief I have to do. Please, please, please let there be a happy ending.

Things I Want in the Final Season of the 100 That Wont Happen

Well the roller-coaster that is the 100 is coming into its final season which leaves me very sad that one of favourite shows in ending, but also curious about the things that will be wrapped up and the things that will be glossed over now that it’s coming to an end. Then I thought to myself; ‘What things do I really want to see before it ends and how likely are they to happen?’ So, here are just a few to start off with, with probably more to be written about later as the promo stuff comes out probably in 2020:

1.The most obvious thing I WANT: Bellarke to happen and be endgame. Shocked? Why, it’s obvious I’m a Bellarke shipper, what are you nuts?! Yes, I really hope that they have Bellamy Blake and Clarke Griffin to finally be able to be together after the 131 years its been teased. I cannot tell you how much I love these two, so I wont go into everything, but if they just built up these two and their relationship and support and love for each other just to slap them with a ‘Platonic’ label in the end…there will be no end to how pissed I will be for their waste of one of my favourite tv/movie couples ever. If the show doesn’t end with Bellamy, Clarke and Madi as a family with Bellarke being co-leaders as voted by Wonkru (if possibly not Spacekru) and possibly also having a few little Griffin-Blake bubs to be acknowledged ala the end of the original Charmed, then they have done a huge disservice to their fan-base and I probably wont trust anything they (a certain someone in particular) again since they’ve teased and recanted so many times, it’s just ridiculous at this point.

2.I want Wonkru to vote for their new leader, and I want that leader to be Clarke. They revered Wanheda for taking down the Mountain when their own Heda made deals with the monsters who used her people as disposable blood bags for 40ish years. Clarke went into the City of Light and shut it down, finding out about the 2nd end of the world in the process which is the only reason any of them survived it. SHE survived Praimfaya and even managed to find Madi, the last Nightblood, and raised her on her own. She may have betrayed Bellamy and took Madi to the Valley and sided with McCreary (which to be fair was her only option other than DEATH at the time) but she was also the only reason Raven didn’t bomb Wonkru and Spacekru to save herself and Shaw and overthrew and killed McCreary. Add to that now that Clarke survived a procedure no-one else had in 250+ years, she fought against an immortal ‘God’ and won back control over her own body, fooled the other ‘Gods’ into thinking she was one of them, stopped them from wiping the minds of everyone still in Cryo, helped Madi take control from Sheidheda and got rid of the mind-wiping serum and about half of the Primes in the process and…I’m going to say Wanheda had probably never looked so fierce and badass before and that’s saying something.

Grounders respect strength, but I think they (Indra and Gaia especially) also realise that it’s not just strength they’ll need on the new world, it’s compassion and Clarke has consistently had that in spades. Don’t agree? Then rewatch the series and note down the people who have betrayed/mistreated/more or less spat in Clarke’s face that she’s not only forgiven but also usually turned into allies, I’ll wait. Hold on, no I wont it would take too long. Anyway, even when her own people use her as their verbal punching bag (repeatedly. Looking at you Raven) she rarely retaliated or lashed out back, usually just getting a pained look before shrugging it off and moving forward. I want Wonkru to want Clarke as their leader…and I want her to say no at first. I want her to have to be talked into it, not because she doesn’t want to help etc but because at this point she’s just bloody tried and grieving and probably just wants to take a breath! Add to that she probably doesn’t think she’s the kind of leader they want/need when not in war. I want Indra, Gaia and Miller to include her in meeting about what to do next, to ask and value her input/suggestions while giving their own. I want them to be sneaky, and kind of ease her into the position when she’s just thinking their having a general discussion. I want Clarke to try and push Bellamy as their leader, and end up having them be co-leaders because of course they are. Add to that, I don’t want Spacekru to be a part of these discussions at first, maybe only being treated like workers instead of key decision makers.

3.Tied to the above, I want Spacekru to have the rug pulled out from under them. Now don’t get me wrong, as a whole I really like most of the members of Spacekru, but their continued “we’re better than everyone else” schtick grated my nerves all season 6. Their actions in season 5 are just as responsible for McCreary destroying the Earth as anyone else’s, they were the ones to put him in charge in the first place for crying out loud!, but they don’t hold themselves at all accountable, instead heaping all the blame on the easy target: Clarke. Was Clarke blameless for what happened in season 5? Hell no! But Spacekru acting like they had no part in it and using Clarke as their verbal punching bag (again) for a good chunk of season 6 was bull. Add to that, that 5 out of 8 of them have tried to kill Clarke in the last 3 weeks (ok, Emori would have been counted as a half but she did kind of applaud Murphy helping Clarke’s murderers as ‘the survivors move’ and only told Bellamy about Clarke being alive because of her loyalty to him/Spacekru not because she actually cared about Clarke really so…yep. Oh and since Raven watching and doing nothing to stop Echo kill Clarke would make her an accessory in most legal systems I’m counting her just as culpable and guilty of Echo almost killing Clarke) them being aghast at the Primes for doing the same is pretty funny (except Bellamy, poor lamb).

So, yes, now that Wonkru (especially Indra, our droll queen of not taking any bullshit!) is in Sanctum too I kind of want Spacekru to puff themselves up, thinking they’re awesome for ‘handling’ the Prime problem and then…I don’t know, be put on trial for their actions against Wanheda and Madi? Before the ranting and raving begins, just hear me out (and take note that I’m already writing a fanfic where this happens): say what you want about Wonkru and the Grounders, they’ve always had a hell of a lot more gratitude and respect for Clarke/Wanheda than her own people have, as stated in point 2. Add to that, that Gaia and Miller witnessed for themselves that Spacekru’s actions largely made the situation worse, again, and Murphy and Raven telling Russell about the bone-marrow solution to save themselves from being burned alive (thanks, Echo), putting Madi in a huge amount of danger in the process. I want the prisoners to kind of get in on it too, a bit. I want them to tell Wonkru about Spacekru’s actions in the Valley and how they pretty much tripped ass backwards into putting McCreary in charge and undermining everything Bellamy and Clarke were trying to do to bring about a truce at the time. I also want (and this is going to set SO MANY people off!!) the prisoners to tell Indra about what they overheard on the radio on the night before the world burned. I want them to tell Indra and the others about how close Clarke came to being murdered to ‘avenge Bellamy’ and that it was Madi that stopped Echo from killing Clarke, while Raven and Shaw stood back and did nothing. I want it to come out that even after Echo tried to kill her, Clarke protected her from McCreary killing her, TWICE, for the man Echo would have killed her to avenge even though Clarke though he was dead. I want all this information to come out at ‘trial’, maybe even have a recording of the radio in Clarke’s pocket as proof and Emori, Murphy and Bellamy to find out right before they’re led away to wait for deliberation. I want Bellamy to fight between using his heart and his head as his view of his family is rocked with the new information as he puzzles out which version of them was on the Ring: who they were or who they needed to be to survive, and whether he could trust them off the Ring. Dun Dun DUNNN!!

4.I want Becho to break-up (obviously, see point 1) but I want it to come after a few things are revealed. Look, as a character I don’t have anything against Echo on the whole but she is a character where we’re told one thing: that she’s changed on the Ring and is a ‘good guy’ now, and (in my opinion) we’re shown another: she still betrays her allies to further her own goals (turning in Shaw against Raven’s wishes, baiting and belittling, and eventually killing, Ryder), still goes behind her leaders back and goes too far to try and get them what they want by means they’d never agree to (going undercover in the Conclave to cheat which got her banished by Roan, trying to kill Clarke in front of Madi to ‘avenge’ Bellamy). I mean she herself pretty much said that she hasn’t changed when she stabbed and killed an unarmed, outnumbered Ryker while stating “Hesitation is death.” Which was Nia’s creed which Echo is seen once again embracing. The only time she even attempts to be ‘the good guy’ is in front of Bellamy, and even then her first response is usually ‘we need to fight our way out’ to pretty much every situation. I know a lot of people say that they think that Echo will realise Bellamy is still in love with Clarke and graciously step aside, but honestly that seems a bit out of character. Echo has pined for Bellamy since before Praimfaya and when you factor in her possibly feeling like her place in their family being threatened if she’s no longer Bellamy’s girlfriend I can’t really see Echo giving up without a fight. I want Bellamy to really try and figure out who and what he wants and fight for it, but still let Echo down easy and reassuring her that she’s still family. And then a little bit of time to let things settle and mourn what they had even if it ends somewhat amicably (Spacekru will probably be pissed).

5.Now onto something lighter: I want more Bellamy and Madi bonding! Let’s be honest here, Bellamy has been a papa-bear since season 1 (which was why it really threw me when he was so ready and willing to turn Madi into a child soldier with the Flame, but moving on) and I really want to see Bellamy and Madi to spend time together; Madi telling Bellamy stories about her and Clarke’s time in the Valley and wanting to hear Bellamy’s stories about his and Clarke’s time together before Praimfaya. I want Madi to tell Bellamy that he and Octavia were routinely the heroes of Clarke’s stories and for him to be shocked (and a little saddened) that Clarke didn’t see herself as a hero. I want Madi to be kind of enamoured with him, since he was pretty much the only one (besides Monty and Harper) who lived up to the stories Clarke told her growing up and because he risked everything to save Clarke. I want Bellamy to kind of embrace his unofficial role as father-figure, telling her stories of mythology and history, spending time with her while her bone-marrow grows back and she’s in isolation. Controversial: (like this whole thing isn’t that already) I want there to be a point where it gets to be too much and Madi loses it. Where her almost losing Clarke, and fighting Sheidheda in her head and being tied down and having her bone marrow take without her consent to catch-up with her and she just breaks down and sobs her heart out. And I don’t want Clarke to be there to comfort her. I want Bellamy to be there and help her through it; telling her it’s ok to still feel the pain of the almost loss and that it’s ok to not always be strong for Clarke’s sake so she doesn’t worry. I want Bellamy and Madi to sit together as they grieve the horrible almost that would have taken Clarke from them. Oh, and I want her to teach him to spear fish.

6. Now this, I know is DEFINITELY not going to happen: I want Murphy and Raven to have to earn Clarke’s forgiveness/friendship. Say what you will about Clarke’s actions in season 5, both Murphy and Raven would be dead dozens of times over throughout the series if it wasn’t for Clarke. Hell, Bellamy almost killed Murphy at least 3 times at the Dropship in season 1 and was only stopped by Clarke’s intervention. Like I said, say what you will but Murphy actively helped Josephine to not only try to stop Spacekru/Wonkru (though mainly Bellamy, lets be honest) from retaliating for Clarke’s murder by the Primes, he would have helped Josephine erase Clarke from her own damn head if Emori hadn’t gone behind his back and told Bellamy about it. And Raven? Raven stood back and did nothing to stop Echo from trying to kill her in front of Madi, because she thought she was justified and then played the victim when Clarke had an actual plan and didn’t just lay down and die like they planned. She told Clarke the only difference between her and Blodreigna was Blodreigna didn’t pretend to feel bad about the things she’d done. Raven and Murphy were the main ones (but not the only ones) who more or less called Clarke a monster and treated her like she was nothing. They were the ones who told Russell about the Nighblood solution being made from bone-marrow (even after Raven watched Kane kill himself, taking the safer-to-make Nightblood solution with him so the Primes couldn’t create more Nightbloods) and Raven talked Abby into taking the marrow from Madi. In general we got a lot of Clarke bashing from Murphy and Raven this past season and even though I KNOW they’ll just have Clarke overlook them mistreating her because that’s what she does, I really wish that they’d have Murphy and Raven show some self-awareness and pull their heads out of their arses and actually make an effort towards Clarke for once, instead of only showing any care, friendship or compassion towards her when they need her to make another impossible decision, if then.

7.Fluff alert: I want Bellamy to be a bit nervous about Clarke finding out about the deal he made with the Primes. I want him to tear himself up a bit with the guilt of not telling her, maybe made worse by Murphy ‘teasing’ him about it, before caving and admitting it to Clarke, ashamed that he made a deal with her murderers to overlook her death for resources and help. I want her to grab his hand of some kind of physical contact before she tells him she knew all about it. I want him to be shocked and appalled that she didn’t seem upset and that she should hate him. I want her to smile at him, and tell him she had been upset at first, but could never hate him for that. That she had been proud of him, just like she was after Praimfaya. I want fluffiness, tears and forgiveness!!!

8.Octavia? Yeah, she’s not dead.

9.I swear to GOD if they make Jordan another Jasper, there will be riots in the bloody streets, you hear me?! RIOTS!!

That’s all I can think of from the top of my head but before anyone asks; yes, a few of these are very specific because I’ve already written scenes that cover all of these that I will be incorporating into my season 7 spec fic of ‘things that will probably never happen’ that I’ll put on AO3 and FF.net at some point in the coming months.

If you don’t agree with something I’ve written above, then that’s all well and good and you’re entitled to your opinion as much as I am. However, please refrain from spewing hate into my inbox because…well I honestly don’t care if you agree with me or not. This is simply my OPINION of what I’D like to see, that I’ve stated multiple times that I honestly don’t hold out hope on the whole that any (besides number 1, 8 and 9) will end up happening.

I had to delete my old Tumblr and make a new one, which is why I had to reupload every One Shot I've posted. This was my very first request: "I have a request! (First one maybe?) I hope that AU is also possible..? Sanji joins a cooking class in high school and wants to impress his crush who is the popular girl." Also: @underworldsheiress I have read your comment and it really made my day. I will be posting a second 'chapter' just for you :)

I really loved this idea and after reading it, I immediately had a few dirty thoughts in my head but maybe I could include that in another one shot (I don’t know if anyone would read that much - but if anyone would, please let me know!). Oh..and also: Yaaaay first request *pop the champagne*!

- 1.483 words - high school romance, no smut, some nosebleed

While waiting for the schoolbell to ring, Sanji was waiting outside in the school halls for you, like almost every day. He used his cooking class to create a dish for you and sometimes he would sneak into the kitchen, just to create something more extravagant whenever it seemed like you were having a bad day. Today was one of those days. Hearing a door open, before the schoolbell rang, Sanji looked up and saw how you left the class room, not paying attention to him at all. His heart felt like it was breaking apart and there was nothing that he would want to do more than to get your attention and make you talk to him. "(Y/N), wait!", he ran after you, keeping your favourite sushi and maki mix safe in a box in his hands. "Not now, Sanji!", you demanded, while keeping your distance. As you went to the girls bathroom, Sanji stopped right in front of it and sighed. Every idea he had, went through his mind and while he couldn't choose what to do next, he felt a slight push on his back and found himself in the girls bathroom in the very next second. "Marimo!", he growled as he heard the green-haired idiot laughing behind the doors.

Now that he finally realised where he actually was, he looked around and saw you staring at him confused. "I've got something for you.", Sanji almost whispered and didn't know if he should stay here with you or go out, because he was not supposed to be here. While holding out a box of your favourite food, Sanji looked at you a little worried and ashamed. "Don't worry. I saw Zoro pushing you in. I will beat him up in p.e. and take revenge for you", you smiled a little and approached him. The blush on his cheeks was spreading on his face, the closer you were. Taking the little box, you held it tight in your arms, "Thank you. I won't eat it here though..", you kissed his cheek and giggled at the sight of him almost fainting. "Breathe, Sanji-kun.", you patted his chest softly and he immediately went on his knees, taking out a ring.

"Not again!", you pulled him up and laughed, "Silly boy."

Every time you touched or just looked at him with a smile, he cannot stand the thought of you doing this with other men as well, which is why he wants to marry you so badly. "Okay, (Y/N)-chan. But one day you will, right?" You answered with a soft wink and looked at the mirror, "Sorry for being so harsh at you before. I just needed to calm down for a second." "What's wrong, ma chère?", Sanji came a step closer and stroked a strand of hair behind your ear, appreciating the soft skin below his fingers. "Kid was annoying again..", you explained calm and saw Sanjis reflection in the mirror. In moments like these the calm side of him was very intimidating and you didn't know if you could trust his silence or not. "Because of the meals I prepare for you?", Sanji looked directly at you and you weren't sure if he was breathing at all. "Well.. don't worry about it." "Is he teasing you because of it?" Not giving him an answer, made him feel like this might be because of something else. "Or is it because you're spending time with me?" "Sanji.. please-" "Please answer, (Y/N)", Sanji wouldn't want anyone to harm you because of him. Especially not if it was a jerk like him. "He believes that I shouldn't be going out with you because..", you couldn't say these words out loud. "Because you're popular and I am what? A loser?", he completed the sentence and sighed. "I don't think so, Sanji. You know that, right?", you turned to him and looked up into his eyes. This was probably the first time that he didn't blush or got a nose bleed from it. "I don't care what he thinks. I just don't want him to harm you." "Don't worry. I can handle this.", you smiled a bit at him and took a deep breath, hearing the schoolbell ring, "You should go out, before anyone sees you here."

During lunch break, you were sitting with your friends at the table, enjoying the conversations and the food. Kid was one of the popular ones as well, which is why he joined the table and sat down with his tray right in front of you. "Oh would you look at that. The eyebrow-mascot made our princess some lunch again.", Kid grinned and wanted to take a sushi. When you hit his hand away, he looked at you shocked and stood up angry. "What? Is he your lover now? Your fuckboy?!" "I would rather share a bed with him than with you.", you whispered angry, knowing that almost everyone stared at you both. Not many seconds later, Kid flipped the table and everyone ran away except you. Feeling sad for Sanjis food being on the floor, you stood up and were just about to pick up Sanjis box, which had a few makis left in it, when suddenly Kid grabbed your wrist. What happened next, was not something you were prepared for.

Sanji kicked Kid with a single hit across the room and screamed, "Don't touch my (Y/N)-chan!" Standing there in shock, he went down and picked up the box. Luffy ran towards you two and stole all the sushi and maki, which were on the floor and ate them fast, "Well done, Sanji!", he complimented his best friend with a full mouth, barely understandable. "What..?", were the only words you could say out loud. "Here, mon muse. I thought this would cheer you up.", he smiled proud and handed you a new box filled with some sweet pastries. You took it, absent-minded , still not able to process the last minute and looked at Kid, who was knocked out on the floor. Luffy stood up and looked at the box, then at you, "If.. you don't want to eat that, then-" Sanji screamed at him and had his usual fight with him, where he offers to kick his butt into a different universe.

You were still unsure about how Sanji send that almost 2m monster flying but the fact that he was there, protecting you and still making sure that you were doing okay by offering another meal, made you feel much more overwhelmed. While everyone gathered around, trying to talk to you and get your attention just to talk to the popular girl, Sanji was the one who first captured your taste in food and now your taste in men. As he smiled at you and turned away to leave, you pushed yourself through the crowd, just to reach him, "Thank you, Sanji!"

The blond cook turned around to you and blushed a little, "Nothing to thank me for." "Can I ask you something?", you took a deep breath, trying to fight the urge to yell at Luffy, who was waiting for a moment when he could steal the box filled with the delicious desert. "Anything, (Y/N)-chan.", Sanji smiled excited and nervous as well. He knew that the crowd was listening to them and he hoped to not get dumbed right in front of everyone. "You've made me all these meals, protected me from Kid, jokingly asked me to marry you many times but you've never asked me out on a date. Why?", your heart was beating way too fast and you feared that this time you'd be the one fainting. Fearing that you'd be turned down by Sanji right now, you were patiently waiting for an answer and he took longer than expected.

"I never thought you'd want to go out with a guy like me.", he whispered and looked down, a little ashamed. As it seemed like, he wouldn't get the hint, you took the matter into your own hands, "Well.. do you want to go out with me?" Sanji looked up to you and he would have never thought to hear these words from you. "WHAT?! Are you insane?!", you both heard Kid screaming from the other side, who finally woke up from the dead. "Shut up! She chose me, you bastard!", Sanji screamed and hawked, preparing his voice to sound more relaxed, "I should be the one asking you, mon chèrie." "Then ask!", you looked at him a little annoyed and laughed a bit. "(Y/N)-chan. Do you want to go on a date with me?", he smiled shy. As happy as you could be, you pulled him softly down and kissed him. After letting go off him, he immediately fell down backwards and his nose was bleeding again, "Was..that.. a yes?" You looked down at him and couldn't help but giggle, "Yes, Sanji-kun. That's a 'yes'."

Words: 1286 Warnings: fluff

Nodding in a satisfied manner, you eyed the pile of presents on your bed. You had spent the last hour wrapping each and every one neatly—and you were now ready for Christmas morning. Well, almost. The only one you still hadn’t bought a present for was Loki. And perhaps you were simply overthinking it. You wanted Loki’s gift to be special, something he’d really like. But what should you get an actual god? With Thor, it was easy. He loved poptarts, so you had bought him a basket full of them, including a voucher for his favourite café. You doubted Loki would fancy poptarts though. You had to come up with something else.

Encouraged, you threw on your winter coat and hurried out of the compound, taking one of Tony’s cars to rush to the mall. You had to get Loki a present. For some depressing reason, you had the feeling that no one else would.

“Merry Christmas, (Y/N)!” Thor bellowed when you entered the vast living room of the Avengers compound on Christmas morning. You were still wearing your comfy snowman pyjamas but you figured to snatch a cup of coffee before getting dressed for the day, it would suffice.

You giggled to yourself, amused by the outright priceless picture right in front of you. Natasha was munching on a popcorn chain, Clint was wearing a Santa hat, Tony was toying with that new little trinket that was supposed to project Christmas stars onto the wall and Thor was wearing this ridiculous reindeer pullover with a blinking Rudolph nose. Your eyes wandered through the room… and you then spotted Loki in a corner, seemingly uninterested in the events unfolding before him. He merely glanced up when you entered the room, nodding courtly as to acknowledge and respect your presence.

A sigh escaped your lips. He hadn’t found his present yet, then. It was rather small, wrapped in green paper with a golden bow.

Tony clapped his hands when Bruce, Steve and Wanda entered with a cup of coffee in hand.

“Well, now that everyone’s here… merry Christmas everybody! I’m gonna say what we’re all thinking… let’s skip the merry ‘We all love each other’ talk and get to the presents.” You grinned. And that was when chaos erupted. Christmas with the Avengers… there was nothing else like it.

Grinning, you approached the massive Christmas tree towering to the ceiling, careful not to rip any baubles off the branches as you crouched down and began reading name tags. There was only one person who excluded themselves from this gift madness—it was Loki. You were convinced he wouldn’t even bother to look.

Tony had made it very clear, after all. He was a criminal and the only reason he was tolerated around here was because of Thor’s request. But then again, not even his own brother had thought about putting something under the tree for him.

Your own presents remained packed when you reached for Loki’s. You stood to approach him all the while diving through the sea of wrappers, bows and happy faces until you came to a halt right in front of him.

His gaze was longing. Not that he would ever admit that he wanted to be part of this joyful moment when all the others did was ignore him… but you could tell he was sad. Your heart broke in two. Christmas was not the time for loneliness.

Loki frowned as he stared at the little package in your hands before looking up at you, seemingly irritated.

“Merry Christmas!” You mumbled with a shy smile as you handed it to him. Hesitatingly, the God of Mischief took it as if it was going to explode if he touched it. For once in his life, so it appeared, he was speechless.

“I remembered you were rather enamoured by the collection of English poetry in Tony’s library.” You explained as he slowly ripped the packaging open to reveal a small, leather-bound book. You had roamed eight stores to get hold of it. It was rare, special and unique. Just like Loki. “It’s one of the first prints of Shakespeare’s sonnets. Only a few copies still exist. I thought since all your books turned to dust when Asgard… you know… I thought you would want to start a new collection.”

Holding your breath, you awaited his reaction, hoping you had made the right choice with your gift. You smiled when his slim fingers lovingly stroked over the binding. Only Loki would be able to appreciate the beauty and significance of a book like this. Finally, his blue eyes met yours again. There was still disbelief sparkling in them.

“Thank you.” He said quietly, nodding in the process. Nothing more happened. Perhaps he didn’t want to attract any attention… perhaps he was still speechless. Either way you knew you had made him happy with this gift. And that was all you had wanted, really.

“You’re welcome, Loki.”

You eventually turned to your own presents, hugging everyone in the room to thank them for their sweet ideas and in turn, received hugs for your presents. Almost an hour passed until you could excuse yourself and return to your room to finally get dressed, the idea of getting a cup of coffee entirely forgotten.

It was then you suddenly heard a quiet movement behind you. You nearly jumped out of your skin when Loki appeared in the threshold, his expression almost… hostile.

“Why?” He growled.

“W-why what?”

“What do you want from me? What is your motive? Surely, it cannot be from the kindness of your heart?” He snapped, holding up the book you had gotten him. Your heart skipped a beat. Was he really this broken that he would think no one would possibly do something selfless for him? You bit your lower lip when you noticed tears threatening to spill from your eyes.

“W-what? I don’t want anything from you, Loki… it’s a Christmas present. I wanted to make you happy, is all.”

Loki scoffed. “You always play innocent. I wonder just what mischief lays hidden deep within your mind.”

Furrowing your brows, you crossed your hands before your chest. Very well, now you were actually getting pissed.

“Take it or leave it, Loki. All I wanted was to be nice because quite frankly, I like you and I think it’s terrible how the others always treat you a-and especially now that it’s Christmas, I guess I just wanted you to b-belong.”

With a start, the God of Mischief’s expression softened. “Why are you… crying?”

What? Shit. Frantically, you wiped your tears away, allowing yourself to step a little closer and wrap your arms around him. For a moment, Loki tensed. You sighed when he relaxed and reciprocated your hug, still both surprised and hesitant.

“I am sorry. I… did not expect anyone to get me a Christmas present. In fact, I did not expect to be around today in the first place.”

Sniffing, you looked up at him, still amazed by how close you were to each other. You didn’t blame him for being suspicious. It made you hurt… for his sake.

“But you are. And I want to celebrate Christmas with you, okay?” Loki pushed you an arm-length away from him. Your heart started pounding like a steam hammer when his hand came up to caress your cheek to wipe away the remnants of your tears. Perhaps it was in this very moment that he decided that he could trust you.

“Why do you care so much, little mortal?” He purred almost cherishingly.

“I… I just do.” And you would make sure that Loki spent the merriest and most wonderful Christmas this year.

Here are the Male performances that have made my top 25 for the 2019 films that I managed to see throughout the year. This will include some 2018 films by date but due to the UK release dates they were available for this list. I actually had 45 on the long list so to cut it down it was a very tough ask! Some amazing films and therefore performances in 2019!

25. Viveik Kalra – Blinded By the Light (Review)

I am a massive Bruce Springsteen fan which is certainly a good start when you see Blinded by the Light and Viveik Kalra gives a truly lovely performance in this film. Really capturing the magic of the Boss’ lyrics and highlighting just how life changing music can be, putting in the lyrics into very good scenes and moments.

24. Randall Park – Always Be My Maybe (Review)

I think I enjoyed this film more than I actually was supposed to and Randall Park was certainly a big reason behind that. He was brilliant in the leading role as the guy who had pretty much been friendzoned and works very hard to get out of that. His comedic timing worked so very well and you could not help but like his character.

23. Daniel Mays – Fisherman’s Friends (Review)

I don’t really feel like many people actually saw this film with it being quite a small British one. But I am pleased I managed to see it because it certainly brought to life the lovely true story of the group of Fishermen who ended up singing together on albums. Daniel Mays is the producer who comes across the group and feels they could make some money off them, but it ends up more than that and he shows some very good character development.

22. Anthony Hopkins – The Two Popes (Review)

The Two Popes certainly wasn’t my idea of an interesting topic for a film, but the performances are truly outstanding that was something that I was expecting especially from Hopkins who can do nothing wrong when it comes to films. He was engaging enough from start to finish and really was believable in the role.

21. Jonathan Pryce – The Two Popes (Review)

Following on from Hopkins it really was amazing to see Jonathan Pryce in this type of role as he is certainly one of my favourite actors. Working well as the pair he gets the slightly better and bigger role as it was the more difficult character to take on.

20. Bill Nighy – Sometimes Always Never (Review)

Another of my absolute favourite actors in a rather unseen film with Bill Nighy as the father searching for his missing son and in return neglecting everything else that is going on around him. Using scrabble as a way to connect and believing he has been reunited due to an online game. A very different type of role and very enjoyable to see him branching out to something different.

19. Kenneth Branagh – All Is True (Review)

I can totally appreciate how amazing Branagh was as William Shakespeare in this film as he also directed himself. I wasn’t a very big fan of the film overall but the performance really does deserve a lot of praise, I mean come on just look at how unrecognisable he is! You can tell how passionate he was about the story and bringing Shakespeare to life in a different way to performing in one of his plays.

18. Sam Rockwell – Jojo Rabbit (Review)

Is there any role Rockwell cannot do? I mean playing a Nazi is now added to his list, but not any Nazi, a Nazi that is willing to poke fun at the poor decisions and being what turns into an amazing role model for young Jojo. Everything around his performance is so good mixing emotions with comedy in key moments.

17. Tom Holland – Spider-Man: Far From Home (Review)

I really don’t think the world was emotionally ready for Far From Home, the first post-Endgame film from Marvel. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker was all of us in grief for the legend that is Tony Stark. In what is an impressive action film it packs so much emotion and we felt fully on the journey with Peter. Holland has really grown in the role and made it more than his own with a unique carefree style.

16. Nicholas Hoult – The Favourite (Review)

In a strange way it makes me sad that Hoult did not really receive enough credit for his pretty much perfect performance in The Favourite. The female performances are truly outstanding and it felt that he was just overlooked, so I am making sure he gets plenty of praise by having him rightly in this list!

15. Al Pacino – The Irishman (Review)

Sometimes I feel that due to my age and the years I really started getting into film that I still haven’t caught up and see the best of Pacino. His Jimmy Hoffa in The Irishman is an amazing performance and really makes me want to try and watch his better films as in recent years it has been rather mixed. He was outstanding on screen with De Niro and Pesci that is for sure!

14. Steve Coogan/John C. Reilly – Stan & Ollie (Review)

I have done this one as a double feature as Coogan and Reilly are both amazing and one would not be amazing without the other. The level of performance to truly become Stan and Ollie is amazing. You just have to see the scenes compared to the original clips to appreciate how much work was put into this lovely little film.

13. Clint Eastwood – The Mule (Review)

You may or may not know that Clint Eastwood is another of my favourites and lets face it he was pretty much the only actor around who could pull off this role. The old man who became a drug mule!

12. Archie Yates – Jojo Rabbit (Review)

Archie may not have had the biggest of roles in Jojo Rabbit but he was certainly stealing those scenes he was in, with perfect delivery and the innocence to really pull it all off. Amazing that this was his first ever film role and you have to look forward to him being cast in the Home Alone reboot!

11. Robert Downey Jr. – Avengers: Endgame (Review)

Everything had built up to this film and the moments within it and the character development for Downey Jr has been going on for so many years now with Tony Stark growing with each film. We would see another side to him throughout Endgame and it was an amazing performance to watch.

10. Robert De Niro – The Irishman (Review)

I feel De Niro has not actually been given enough credit for his performance in The Irishman you know as the actual Irishman. He has not received any award love and I personally feel it is such a shame, especially when you think it is best acting he has done in the past 20 years. Working so well with Pacino and Pesci!

9. Christian Bale – Vice (Review)

Unrecognisable for his role in Vice which was an incredible performance even if the film is not the best in terms of enjoyment factors. But it has also confirmed that I really watch just about anything with Bale in it, he pushes the boundaries in all of the right ways and that is why he is at the top of his craft.

8. Daniel Craig – Knives Out (Review)

The soon to be former James Bond has a complete change in roles, although we could say Logan Lucky was that turning point. In Knives Out he is a character you would never have thought he would play especially when he gives the unreal donut metaphor scene! Linking together with the very talented cast and quite frankly holding the film together as the detective.

7. Antonio Banderas – Pain and Glory (Review)

Now I feel seeing Pain and Glory which was actually on as a Cineworld Unlimited Screening which I must add only had about ten people attend the cinema, which was a shame because Banderas is utterly outstanding in the leading role. A Spanish film which I throughly enjoyed from start to finish. Attempting to battle his demons as his life has come crumbling down around him.

6. Joe Pesci – The Irishman (Review)

I feel Pesci is truly outstanding in The Irishman and stole every single scene he was in, absolutely love that he came out of retirement to take this part. It’s actually different to the style of character he has played in the past which was an added bonus because his acting was then different, the silent assassin at times.

5. Richard E. Grant – Can You Ever Forgive Me? (Review)

A true gem of a film and Grant works so well with Melissa McCarthy to bring to life the true story of Lee Israel who committed literacy forgery, he became her only friend. Grant was outstanding to watch as the over the top Englishman and I loved everything about his performance.

4. Taron Egerton – Rocketman (Review)

Isn’t is a shame for Taron Egerton that Bohemian Rhapsody and Rami Malek came out before his Rocketman performance as I truly believe because of that film he has not fully received enough praise for his turn as Elton John. Not only the acting performance but he recorded all of the songs himself as well. He is quickly becoming one of my favourite young actors.

3. Joaquin Phoenix – Joker (Review)

I don’t care what anyone says Phoenix is outstanding in Joker and his character development is on another level. When the casting was first announced he was always going to be amazing and that is shown within the film, he does not take on easy roles at all and that is confirmed with this one!

2. Adam Driver – Marriage Story (Review)

I don’t think a performance broke my heart as much as watching Adam Driver in Marriage Story. The layers and level of performance was amazing and on a totally different level. He had an amazing 2019 taking on so many different characters and I loved everything about this especially with the Losing My Mind scene as well!

1. Roman Griffin Davis – Jojo Rabbit (Review)

Could only be on actor in the top spot for 2019 in my opinion and a very young actor with that 12 year old Roman Griffin Davis. Jojo Rabbit is his first ever film role and he completely nails every single thing throughout the film. The range and level of emotion he must show from start to finish really shows that he is a true star in the making. He can make you laugh and then cry in later scenes as he is attempting to come to terms with the war and wanting to be Hitler’s friend. I honestly think he deserves so much praise as what a way to make your film debut!

Eurovision 2018 Rehearsals Day 7 - Actual first impressions

Russia: Weaklish weaklings, the sudden cuts to Julia’s closeup are a bit jarring. Kind of a weaksauce presentation with trying to be something else than it actually is. The pretty lights shouldn’t be saving it all.

Moldova: Still the same staging, but from the eurovision.tv clip I don’t really like how the chorus is sung. I’d rather if Marina did the same as she did in the national final, not try to sing in the same monoton...y(???) for the first two lines in each 4 pieces of the chorus. And as someone said, your song seems to be terrible if you think the staging can save it from failure... well the package is charming, albeit the song’s sounding dated af, but it’s Kirkorov, and nothing touched by Kirkorov ever fails... unless Kirkorov himself sings it. He’s like Björkman, except that he’s not a Russian HoD, but just merely a mentor. (Also somehow I missed both of their rehearsals in full vocally, whether on purpose or being in the English writing exam. I am so curious about the ending harmony bit of the song!)

The Netherlands: Ooh, proper camera shots do their work on this. With such, no one at home will notice these randomly dancing ‘bandmates’. I have a bone to pick with one camera shot though, it seems to be unnecessarily repeated straight after itself being shown once.

Australia: I like this dress. But sweet Jesus these vocals she displayed... the high notes especially were kind of goat-like and got me giggling together with people on the ESCXtra livestream... I’m so sorry Jess. You tried though. I bet she might as well be stellar in the jury dress rehearsal just to give Australia an excuse to qualify.

Georgia: Looks like a band that came to do their thing and went. The sound mixing in the clip was a little iffy on these guys though, I was expecting more of complete harmonizing in the last part of the song, now their vocals are just crashing into each other. Also gotta love how each vocalist got a camera shot on his own in the preview clip

Poland: Oh my, separate shots focusing on Lukas and Gromee? Ugh... Well basically, there was one long shot of Lukas walking way farther from the stage, and is still doing something like shouting the word “jump!”, which I hope he does WAY less when doing dress rehearsals AND actual live show(s). I love his elongated “goooooooo”s, that’s why. Who cares if you cannot recreate some effects that you DJ scratched on? Speaking of DJ, look at them dance moves provided by Gromee. He’s moving in his DJ booth interesting-ly and gets camera spun around him in the preview video, thinking we’re getting something else but instead we’re back to Gromee... moreover, Gromee for that time keeps his back against the viewers so it comes off as a bit awkward of a choice.

Malta: The camera shots b random in this one. Glitch cut to zoom out of the stage with fire effects shooting out during the bridge, immediate random cuts in between towards the dancer and Christabelle. I hoped this would move more smoothly. The other thing that’s smooth is Christabelle’s performance in itself. I think she’s wearing better clothes now? Not sure tbh. Oh and this is the first artist that came onto the ESCXtra’s livestream by itself and didn’t come from the interview room. Granted, she was briefly there in between the Hungarian rehearsal problems (such as it failing to take off as planned), but she arrived and had one more chit-chat with us lovely viewers. She did get to hear my comment about me wearing her hoop earrings she wore at the time, and then said she didn’t know where she got them from. xD Lovely posh lady. Sadly the song is lacklustre, as have been many songs of many others who tried a million times (lol Romanian entry) that have been selected to Eurovision. I admit, I have never heard of Ira’s “Chameleon”, but I am assuming it’s also as lacklustre so that it had to be changed into something completely else. And so was “Breathlessly” (my favourite from what I remember of Claudia’s tries was “When It’s Time” tbh). And so kinda was “Coming Home” (only because I still think Richard Edwards wants to go to Eurovision all by himself, no matter the fact he went with a band once). And so was “Warrior” of course. Why is it a Maltese tendency to snub fan faves of the NF? We will never find out.

Hungary: Ho boy. Before their rehearsal my computer underwent an 8 minute lag... only for to their rehearsal not start out the way it was planned. :’) It happened TWO MORE TIMES before one run-through actually working (and another one after that). I thought it was kind of worse than whatever happened in the first rehearsal, maybe it was because of the failorious sound mixing, I dunno. I have heard things about A Dal’s soundsystem being a bit of a failure too, so yeah. I just hope the backtrack won’t end up sounding too quiet or something, I believe it was one of the factors that led to Latvia’s failure to impress last year, together with Agnese’s vocal performance that felt like she’s too scared or too tired to do anything that day. But no really, at some point the chorus sounded like they have had Patrick Stump hidden underneath somewhere, singing in an ‘imaginary’ language (lol I know Hungarian is not imaginary, don’t @ me). Bit too eerie here, the sound system should get its shit together on it.

Latvia: Ohey I mentioned Latvia earlier ago. Your token “stand alone on stage in one place but rely on the camerashots to make it look more powerful or something” song number #428597 or so. So much so she’s used the second most camerashots this year according to my understanding (only Cyprus beats her, and the 3rd one seems to be Hungary!). Mnaaaah I still can’t help but think Latvia’s heading for a last place again. It just seems a song that can be THIS unappealing at first listen. Not to mention, “is she wearing a bed robe?”

Sweden: Nothing too much, except that Benjamin AND his backings sounded a bit too poor during the preview clip while mainly maintaining the same staging as in Melodifestivalen. Lights and everything. Down to the nodding. Should be a failure but as I mentioned earlier to Moldova... (well technically the Swedish song is still catchy and still... Swedish, so of course it’s gonna qualify.)

Montenegro: Seems fine to me, performance is a performance. Maybe the backings were a bit too loud this time though.

Slovenia: Dare I mention that the Xtra team made people miss half of the first run through and the entirety of the second run through to interview Laura Rizzotto on the livestream? Including the time spent on waiting on Laura? Glorious... and sad at the same time as I have sent her so many questions and she didn’t even bother to reply to any single one of them... :( Back to Lea now: thank God the camerashots aren’t too much in this one, otherwise they would be too much for the viewers at home, as much as the moment when the song got ‘halted’ before the 2nd chorus for Lea to ask others to sing the hook for her (according to her it was basically inserted there because she thought that her own song becomes boring midway through. We love a queen of self-shade here).

Ukraine: Same old, same old. I have heard bad things being said ‘bout the camerawork but to be pretty honest, it was good enough imo. ESPECIALLY WHEN there’s a shot dedicated to Melovin’s backing singers

Thank you children

It’s been 2 weeks now since we have been in class with the children and I am missing them all terribly. It has got me thinking just how lucky I am to do this job and that is all down to the children I teach every day. They make each day so special and no day is the same! They are imaginative, creative, funny and they have such a wonderful perspective on the world that I truly envy at times.

I am dedicating this blog post to ALL of the children at Cippenham Primary School and I want them to know just how special they are to their teachers.

I reached out to my colleagues and asked them to send me a few words about why they love their jobs, the responses were amazing. Children I hope you know just how much you are missed and loved - we cannot WAIT to get back to you.

2018 - Year in Review

Hot Mess Bitch à la Jan Bon - the most impressive dish I made (or participated in making) this year, on 31 Dec 2018. I guess now this space is for photos of what I did on NYE, following tradition of last year. It comprised of honeyed butter biscuit (baked from scratch!), sausage cream gravy, garlic polenta grits, cheesy scrambled eggs, topped with more uncased Italian sausage.

I was kinda procrastinating writing this post I guess because I was placing such unnecessarily high expectations on this post to be the motherlode of all reflections this year, especially since I have started keeping a handwritten (almost-daily) journal recently. Sorry bloggy, I hope you don’t feel jealous.

This year feels too short and too long at once. I almost cannot remember what I did for the first half of the year (partly also because my journal writing habit only started post-June when Janz handed me my first journal book and encouraged me to start writing in it so that I can remember and process stuff that happened in my life).

Maybe it feels long because I accidentally travelled a little too much this year (What blasphemy! Like too much is a thing when it comes to travelling?) But that was mostly thanks to the opportunity to do so from my work trips. Let me count the cities: Rome, Venice, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Brussels, Bruges, Krabi, NYC, Seattle, Vancouver, Melaka.

Oh yeah and I turned 30 this year too. It’s surprisingly uneventful, but I guess this year is when I started feeling more like an adult, less wet behind the ears and more okay with being myself. Especially since now at work I’m surrounded by so many young people, and it feels kinda weird that they seem to look up to me and come to me for advice.

New things I tried in 2018

Improv. I took an improv 101 class at the beginning of the year. It was good fun and pushed me out of my comfort zone to be less self-conscious and more spontaneous. I see some potential in using the concept of improv for the design process and I hope one day I can convince my colleagues to go check it out as well.

Piloxing. I wanted to make use of ActiveSG credits for the first time, and the idea of mixing pilates and kickboxing intrigued me. It was ok, pretty fun and not as intense as I expected. It’s kinda like a high-impact cardio exercise. Not my thing but I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Speaking at public events. I was invited as a speaker and panelist at General Assembly to talk about my experience as a designer. The first one was scary (and embarrassingly eventful). The next 2 as a panelist were more relaxed as I didn’t need to prepare that much. There is kind of an adrenaline kick doing this kind of thing sometimes, haha.

Journal writing. I have to thank Janz for encouraging this habit by giving me a notebook for my birthday. I think writing down thoughts and just things that happen in the day really helps me process stuff and is kinda therapeutic. I would write about conversations I had, things I observed, and maybe even stuff I watched.

PTTC aka Physical Touch Treatment Centre. This might sound a bit weird but in our Krabi UX teambonding trip, the girls were training me to be more touchy in showing sayang. That included patting heads and linking hands. And now I have become kinda good at it. (Okay.. this still sounds weird!)

Confessed to a boy. Rejected by said boy. But now we are good friends and I think I’m happy with that. And I think I’m pretty low maintenance and self-sufficient as a person/non-gf. This year I also concluded my online dating experiment and the result is the realisation that I don’t really need to find a partner to have a fulfilled life. Actually I already knew that from the start but this was a validation. But I’m grateful to have met so many guys from outside of my social bubble that I wouldn’t have met in otherwise. And the experience of meeting strangers also trained me to be more thick skin and be more socially confident. Glad I did this.

Things that made me sad in 2018

Colleagues that left. Early this year I was kinda shook when Michelle left. Even though we are not that close as friends, she and I had a good partnership as my researcher. Then Leonard, then Lydia, our dear POs. And then Gaofeng and Ernie left. My fellow Easy Team pioneers from the very beginning. :(

Macbook died. Itchy backside made me prematurely install Mojave OS before it was company-approved. My computer ended up getting corrupted and the IT guy tried so hard to help me save it for 2 whole weeks. In the end with all means tried, there was no choice to reformat the whole thing, and I lost all my files. That was an emotional 2 weeks.

SG team got booted off project. I found out after coming back from a trip and it hit me like a suddenly flying slap. But I don’t think it was anyone’s fault, just circumstances. And now I actually look forward to new challenges after this project comes to an end for me.

Chief Laihock’s passing. Chief was a great leader and strong pillar holding up GUI for the past 11 years, an inspiration to me and many people who know him. His passing was a sudden one and because of this keeping the kampung became a problem. I feel for the core team members who are working so hard to keep things running and continuing to fight this fight. Such passion is admirable and makes me want to do whatever I can to help.

Things I’m happy about in 2018

Read more books. Somehow managed to squeeze in more books into my reading diet this year. I’ve been gifted and lent many books this year and I guess because of that I was obliged to finish them, and that turned out to be a good thing. I also somehow unknowingly influenced some young’ins to start reading as a habit too, which surprised me.

Learnt to monkey bar. I had a random goal of learning how to monkey bar in September. I’ve never ever been able to do it, when I first saw other kids playing on it in pri sch and felt left out and embarrassed because I couldn’t. But this year I decided to see if I could train myself to do it, perhaps because the bar was always at the fitness station downstairs mocking me. And in November I showed it. That sense of jubilance and exhilaration I had when I finally made that first swing from one bar to the next was amazing. And in the next couple of weeks of training I finally made it through the entire ladder. Woohoo!

Strengthened bonding with colleagues. This year the UX team has expanded quite a bit. We welcomed in Janz, Lily, Oppa, Shirshir, Shishi, Lulu and Lala. And we got close almost instantly, which I think is unusual for team of such size. Boss has done an incredible job in scaling positive team culture somehow, and I think for next year our challenge is how to spread this culture beyond just our team.

Launched a fundraising campaign for GUI. The GUI web team’s work did not slack off since the launch of the 2.0 website last year. We did another release of 2.1 with some improvements after conducting some usability/feedback session with folks. And then in August when news of Laihock’s passing triggered the urgency to raise funds to keep GUI going and keep the land, we worked very hard meeting every week to come up with ideas on how to start a fundraising and awareness campaign. We pushed this campaign out in November and now to continue the efforts to tweak and optimise the message. Grateful to have a supportive volunteer team working hard together on this.

Didn’t take an MC this year. Last year I got sick quite often, almost once every 2 months. Then Gaofeng gave a suggestion that intrigued me. Exercise more. I decided to give it a try. And I’m proud to report that ever since I started exercising every alternate morning, my MC count this year has declined by 100%. I still got sick once or twice this year but it wasn’t so serious that I had to be bedridden. And I found going for a jog in the morning actually lifts my mood for the day. Two birds, bingo.

Knitted a hat. I joined our office’s Knit For Love group to learn how to knit a hat, and all knitted items would be donated to Singapore Cancer Society. I managed to finish mine in about 2-3 months after lots of getting stuck and having help. I was surprised that there are actually quite a few knitting enthusiasts in our office. And even to see a different side to those very notoriously fierce colleagues in the office - they were very kind and patient when it comes to teaching and guiding others. I love discovering new kinder sides of people.

Favourite things of 2018

Nonfiction Book - Crucial Conversations. Borrowed this from Lydia’s bookshelf. We even have a book review club at her house now to share our learnings. This book has valuable advice on how to handle tough conversations and I hope I could put it to proper practice and truly learn to do it.

Fiction Book - A Dog’s Purpose. A gift from Janz she got at Strand Bookstore. This was a surprisingly thought-provoking book despite the silliness of the premise. Best of all, it’s only USD 48 cents.

Podcast - Harry Potter and the Sacred Text. This one was recommended by Wei, a new friend I made from the DesignOps summit. Nothing can replace my love for Invisibilia but this one was another surprising gem. I like how they dissect and examine each chapter through lens of different themes and that made this beloved series even more meaningful.

Youtube Channel - Vox. I like the variety of smart educational and timely content presented in a visually appealing and simple to understand way. I especially liked their series explaining music and politics.

Music - Tessa Violet. Dodie. Chillhop radio. Pomplamoose.

Day memory - Cycling in Bruges with Eos. This was literally my idea of a perfect day come true. We had a cheap and cheerful breakfast at Hema, then rented a bike, and cycled all the way to Belgium in cool autumn weather, passing beautiful fields of flowers and farmlands and smelly cows. Had a sumptuous seafood lunch before heading back to town, serendipitously stumbling into an art gallery opening with free wine. Had a pigeon for dinner, then ending the day listening to jazz at a bar.

Trip memory - NYC/Seattle/Vancouver with Janz. I liked our adventurous/slipshod spirit and the resulting shenanigans we got into because of that. And all our silly and thoughtful conversations in between. And the food we got to try and coming up with a weird rating system for them.

Bonus - Making a Chinese rap music video with Jess. Jess and I bonded a lot during this 3-week Prague rotation trip. I liked practicing our rap every day walking to and from our office and hotel, and basically everywhere we go. She is such an easy person to have fun with, and we get a kick filming ourselves and annoying Leonard along the way (bless him).

Things to work on in 2019

Figure out how to be a leader. I recently got promoted to Design Ops Lead of the team. There will be a lot of dealing with people and processes, and that is something I have to learn how to manoeuvre. But having a new challenge is always exciting.

Being more articulate and assertive. Along with the above might mean learning how to better communicate expectations and handling tough situations.

Plan more and be less slipshod about things. There are times to be happy-go-lucky and be spontaneous about things. But wisdom is knowing when to pay attention and take care of the details, especially when the outcome might affect other people, not just myself.

Being more caring with my parents. Last year one of my resolutions was to improve my communication with my parents. I tried by listening to more chinese podcasts and speaking chinese more often. But I realised sometimes talking is not enough, it’s the tone and body language. How you show attention and care that matters.

Continue staying healthy. In the mind and the body. That means keeping and perhaps even increasing my regular exercise regime. And meditate more regularly!

So here’s what I did on the first day of 2019 – Taking a beautiful hike with my lovely buddies! It’s a gonna be happy new year, oh yes.

I’ve been looking forward to see Justin Timberlake again for months. I knew that the show would be one of the concert highlights this year. I didn’t want to see, read or hear anything about it and I was right to do it. The show blew me away!

Justin Timberlake performed at the Super Bowl Half time show this year so I knew a tour was soon to be announced. Little did I know that it would already be in August this year that I get to see him again. Unfortunately due to the high ticket prices the show wasn’t sold out unlike in any other country so he only performed once in Zurich and enjoyed his free time golfing 🙂

But first things first. Justin Timberlake is smart. He wants the people to have a great time at his gig and he wants them to be in a party mood before he even comes on. So he’s got a DJ with him who’s warming up the crowd! I loved the song choices especially when Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of you” came on. Soooo many memories haha The party cooled down a little while his support Bazzi took the stage – a Justin-wannabe in the making… But hey, you kinda need a break before the big party starts right?! Because you don’t want to be pulling a hamstring while you go low low low low 😀

Let’s get this party started

I had this vision of Justin Timberlake’s show and I was sooo excited to see if I was right or not. To me “Filthy” was the best way to start the Man of the Woods tour and luckily Justin agreed 😀 The lights were out and the stage including some trees which was sneaking its way all across the Hallenstadion was dimly lit. It felt like you were in the woods. Then there was this white light and one by one the Tennessee Kids emerged until Justin Timberlake himself started with a bang which happened to be exactly how I imagined it! The dancing was on point and he and his dancers were making their way towards the back of the Hallenstadion on this awesome stage!

“Midnight Summer Jam” was next and I was hoping he would mix it up with “Let the groove get in” but he didn’t. But hey you can’t have everything 😀 Slowly people started to get antsy on their seats… It really was time to dance but I knew I had a mission so I waited. One of my usual concert buddies – a huge JT fan – couldn’t be there so she told me to record song No. 3. Notice how she didn’t tell me what song it was? She really knows me too well 😀 I was ready and so I happened to catch Justin’s cute tribute to Aretha Franklin who unfortunately died on that day. He started “LoveStoned” with a little “Respect” 🙂 I was super happy because it is also one of my fav songs. At the end he did this cool thing were his face is all blurry on the big curtain screens just like in the video!

Time to dance!

Mission accomplished. Time to dance! 1 beat was enough and I was up on my feet. Justin Timberlake brought “Sexy back” and a lot of people were dancing with me. I was so glad because honestly how can you stay seated?? It was already such a great atmosphere you don’t usually get until way at the end. What I loved about this show and Justin Timberlake he was literally everywhere and he was involving every person in the building. Up on the sides, down at the back (or was is the front? :D) and of course the standing area – everyone felt included. Then one of my fav tracks on the new record “Man of the Woods” came on and I was soaking it all in so I would remember when I would listen it in my car. That Justin really IS a southern man we got to experience a little bit later in the show.

It was super hot and I already felt really warm so it was nice to quickly chill for “Higher Higher” until the keyboard popped up and Justin addressed us.

Are you ready to dance? So I need everybody to stand up!

And the WHOLE Hallenstadion stood up from song 7 until the end! Tell me when was the last time that happened? We were dancing to “Señorita” until Justin Timberlake said:

So I want to try this with you. The guys sing with me:

“It feels like something’s heating up, can I leave with you?”

and the ladies sing:

“I don’t know what I’m thinking bout, really leaving with you”

And yes, there were some guys who actually helped him sing the guys’ part 😀 You just have to love concerts where you know every song and can sing a long to. Within two weeks I got to enjoy Ed Sheeran and Justin Timberlake and both shows were completely different both were so amazing at the same time. I can’t tell you how lucky I am that I got to make this incredible memories.

From “Señorita” to “Suit & Tie” Justin quickly changed into a suit jacket where showed off his dancing skills during a little laser show. It was impressive!! The keyboard was replaced by that same buttons pad you see at the beginning of the “Say Something” video. I was already excited to hear this awesome tune but Justin Timberlake wanted to play a little. So he put on some parts of his newest song “Soulmate” until he pressed some buttons which turned into “My Love” – my least favourite song haha

Let’s make it rain

The pad thingy stood on top of the main stage behind the musicians and from there the fog started to roll in. From the rows up top the stage looked like it was shooting lightnings down the front. This show looked different from every angle and you felt like you were part of it. Justin Timberlake started the first beats of “Cry me a River” and the curtain screens turned into falling rain. You didn’t know where to look! This didn’t change when Justin stood on the middle stage with the curtain screen above him showing his reflection about 20 times! And yes, obviously the song was called “Mirrors”. It hit me like a deja vu. This was the last song on the 20/20 experience!! Like in 2014 the whole Hallenstadion was on their feet singing and clapping to the song. It gave me goose-bumps!

I am sooo glad Justin Timberlake left “Drink You Away” in the set. It was one of my fav moments on the last tour and this time he made everyone lift a glass for the incredible soul diva that Aretha Franklin was – because that’s what you do in the South. Again a nice little tribute to her. Unfortunately not a lot of people know “Drink you Away” but it didn’t keep me from fully enjoying it! After this song it went dark and it looked like a little break because they had to fire up the bonfire! 😀

Campfire atmosphere with 13k people

Justin Timberlake took his guitar and his musician friends from the Tennessee Kids band and sat around a little fire on the 3rd stage surrounded by trees and grass. The curtain screens showed a moon and we were literally transferred into the woods even more. He asked us to put our phone lights up for “Until the end of time” and this turned the Hallenstadion into a flood of lights. WOW – just beautiful. It was the let the Tennessee Kids including the backing singers Zenya, Nicole and Cowboy Jack with covers from amazing musicians. First up was Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” and a beautiful rendition of Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor” and my favourite cover by John Denver “Thank God I am a country boy”. Cowboy Jack has an amazing voice and it is crazy to think he’s only singing in the back ground!

The very cool campfire section ended with “Morning Light”. Justin Timberlake surprised me by singing the very old “What Goes Around… Comes Around”. It’s been one of my motto’s before he sang that song and it got even a bigger meaning when he sang it. I was sooo happy! He performed it on the middle stage right where my friends from Loads of Music stood. I was screaming for them when he got close to them and even wished one of their friends Happy Birthday! How cool is that?! His show might be super planned down to the minute but Justin Timberlake’s still got time for a little spontaneous gesture 😉

The end came closer with every song

FINALLY the first chords of “Say Something” resonated through the Hallenstadion and I couldn’t contain myself anymore. I was overjoyed! Thanks to the song being in the radios a lot the audience also knew the song. However this was the first time I got really disappointed. My vision of the show was that Chris Stapleton would show up on the curtain screens and sing his part. He didn’t in fact the 2nd verse was completely left out. I was so sad for a 2nd and really mad haha I couldn’t believe he just cut out Chris Stapleton. How dare he? 😀 And since I’m already complaining I might add that the sound was really bad at some points. The sound check should have been done a bit better. But hey let’s focus on the good things again 😀

Another song “Montana” to sway from side to side and catch your breath while I was back dancing for “Summer Love”. Those old songs just bring back so many memories. I love gigs where you know every song and connect them with special memories. For “Rock Your Body” the Hallenstadion was turned into a dance floor. The screen curtains were turned into the same colours as in the video clip. And suddenly a proper dance floor with square lights showed up in front of the middle stage down in the party pit! How cool?! Justin Timberlake was actually dancing in the middle of his fans 🙂

I told Shirley of Loads of Music before that I will be thinking of her when Justin Timberlake’s gonna before “Supplies” because she totally “ruined” the song for me. All I hear now is EI EI EI which in German means Egg… I cannot stop laughing during the song. It will hold a special place in my heart 😀 From super new to super old. JT’s first solo single “Like I love you” was performed on the 3rd stage with the exact same moves he did in the clip. Me in the little space I got remembered almost every move and tried to dance like JT 😀 Oh well, I tried 😀

After two hours I knew the end was near and with Dance Dance Dance aka “Can’t stop the Feeling!” the show ended but not before you saw the whole venue dance and sing and clap. It was an incredible feeling seeing everyone having a great time enjoying themselves. I can only imagine how this must feel for the artist. I loved the end of the show! I couldn’t have wished for a better one. First the Tennessee Kids left the stage and only Justin Timberlake was left to sing the last chorus with us. We were sent into the night with:

Thank you! Ich liebe euch! Good Night!

Even a few days after gig everything is still vivid and I wished I could have seen it another time to find out other things about this incredible show.

Pokeverse: Button Mechanic

Because this is one of those verses that is going to cover all the muses in various different ways. But there are technically going to be two variations on this concept, depending on how the threads are set up...

Also who doesn’t like Pokémon aus? Come on!

So first off, let’s talk about Aothur’s version of things. Both variations... not that it really matters too much. The only variations between the two Pokeverse aus are whether it’s in the actual Pokémon world, or Pokémon just kind of exist in their regular world because... Well just because.

Pokeverse: Aothur

First off, I’m going to list out his Pokémon, and then explain the choices of them, since I really do love doing that! Since there actually is typically a reason behind a choice, and sometimes those reasons are just as important as the pokémon themselves you know... So you guys ready? Okay, well here’s his team!

Dedenne(technically Galaham turned into one)

Rotom

Kirlia

Banette

Galvantula

Buizel(shiny)

Alright, see those six... Remember those six, because it is time to explain them.

Dedenne: The most obvious one first, Dedenne I mean sheesh, since Dedenne is one of the only pokémon that might have been based off of a hamster(although the design also takes inspiration from the Japanese dormouse and gerbils) I kind of had to give him one. Especailly since seriously. Seriously, had to keep Galaham there somehow. So technically the Dedenne I gave him is just the Galaham of his world.

And yes, due to familiar rules, he can talk.

That and well, Aothur needs someone who can respond to him... But also, there are a few other reasons I selected dedenne for this. For one thing, just go and have a look at how adorable dedenne is. A round small pokémon with big ears and a long tail! Those cute little radar style whiskers... just gosh...

Also there is the typing to take into consideration, I just love that dedenne is an electric/fairy type pokémon especially since that is something that fits, because Aothur is a mechanic, who goes off hunting down the paranormal... which includes the fair folk. Whether they be mischievous or not... It’s just fitting.

Also because I like having this stuff for a reference, I would say the ability is Pickup and the Move Set is Nuzzle, Thunderbolt, Thief and Protect...

The reasoning behind the move set and ability is just... well eh. Not really that fazed about explaining. But I’m sure a cute Dedenne as Galaham makes perfect sense.

Rotom: Because honestly, rotom isn’t a legendary pokémon and that’s my one real rule for these kinds of things... but also, we all know rotom. The mischievous electric/ghost pokémon that possesses people’s appliances and makes them go a bit wild. I mean seriously, rotom is just... the most fitting pokémon... I mean, even including the whole Rotomdex thing...

But anyway, do I really need to explain this one to you guys? We all know rotom, and we know why it’s a fitting pokémon. A pokémon that is more or less pure energy held together, and that loves to mess around with electrical equipment but can be occasionally helpful... Yes please.

It’s only ability is levitate and well, as for the move set well; Electro Ball, Ominous Wind, Swagger, and Sleep Talk

Because you know what, yes.

Kirlia: Because Aothur is a big baby who feels a lot of things... Okay, but seriously. Seriously, why would I pick a kirlia of all pokémon to give to him? Because well, here’s the thing. Kirlia are really sensitive pokémon, and honestly, they’re pokémon who are emotion driven, and care a lot for those who care for them. Basically, kirlia is his support pokémon really, along with Galaham the dedenne. But you know...

There has to be more of a point to it than that... so let’s talk about it. Kirlia is literally called the Emotion Pokémon it dances when it’s trainer is happy, and it’s also a pokémon with the power to peer into the future and see what may be coming. It’s a sensitive pokémon, it dances when happy, and gets sad when those around it are sad, it’s also a pokémon that gets more beautiful when loved by its trainers... by which I take that to mean it glows with its happiness and really looks healthy. Which yeah...

It’s also a psychic/fairy type.

Now why is that important? Well because here’s the thing, when I initially done this list, I had an idea of what the baseline Arthur’s team is... and so these guys are more offshoots, and types matter. We’ve already talked about why dedenne being an electric/fairy type works, so fairy is covered... but psychic? Well here’s the thing. Mediums channel psychic energy to do what they do. Also, empathy. And a little bit of my original soleil concept, but ahh, who cares about that. The fact is, psychic energy is something that Aothur technically has access to.

So why not a pokémon with those abilities. And since Kirlia is what it is... it fits the best.

The ability his kirlia has is telepathy and it has the move set of: Heal Pulse, Psychic, Hypnosis, and Dazzling Gleam

Banette: Feel like tossing away an old toy of yours? Haha, but seriously, banette is one that is for this verse only really. I mean seriously, the marionette pokémon with my button eyed Aothur? It’s just too fitting. Also, a bit of the voodoo kind of hints, along with the simple fact that it’s a ghost type.

Maybe it’s a bit vengeful, but hey, not everything would be perfect.

Has the ability Insomnia, and the move set; Shadow Sneak, Curse, Will-O-Wisp and Phantom Force.

Galvantula: Come on into my web said the spider to the fly... Again a verse exclusive pokémon. Despite spiders bringing up bad associations. You have to understand that Aothur uses strings to deal with some of his problems... and despite the whole, spider-Beldam associations, there is other things to consider regarding this choice.

But seriously, I have a reason for this pokémon despite many people assuming that he would automatically avoid all spider based pokémon. And the reason is well, here’s the thing, I know it’s kind of ridiculous, but the muse wants what the muse wants. Also, generally speaking, look at how fuzzy galvantula looks... Also, again, there is the typing. Electric types are definitely Aothur’s bread and butter, and Galvantula is an interesting pokémon both because of its typing, but also moveset... and just seriously...

Do I have to explain myself that much...

The ability that it has is Unnerve. And of course the move set is; Electroweb, Bug Bite, Thunderbolt and Poison Jab

Buizel(Shiny): Now I’ll be perfectly honest, when the muse demanded this pokémon... I just burst out laughing for a good long while, because really Aothur? Really? But okay, for you to understand why I’m laughing so much, you need to understand a personal rule I have when it comes to a character’s theme animal. Barring some relatively specific circumstances, said animal cannot be their favourite animal... so Aothur doesn’t have hamsters as his animal... what animal did I go with? Otters, and yeah alright, Buizel is slightly more weasel like than otter, but it is still technically an otter pokémon.

Maybe more the river otter than a sea otter though.

So yeah... heh... Aothur decided he had to have one of the otter pokémon, and buizel won out over oshawott. So here he is, and a golden yellow shiny one as well. Because you know, the colouring... also buzel can fly according to the anime, so allusions to a certain other twin-tailed flier.

So yeah. Swift Swim is the ability of his Buizel and well it has the move set of Aqua Tail, Agility, Ice Beam, and Mud-Slap

And that’s his whole team! So yeah... Fun right?

Also, just because welp.

MDPokeverse: Aothur

I’m going to be honest with you guys about this, when it comes to PMD verses, I kind of limit my choices by a lot of things... But that isn’t stuff for you guys to really worry about... so I will just give you my answer for what he would be if it were a PMD style thread and that answer is...

*drum roll*

Emolga...

Now I’m sure there are some people staring because what... but yeah. My limits won’t be explained, nor will my choice. You’re just going to have to roll with it. So, neh.

Oh, also because I really, really like the bows from PMD: Explorers... I will have to additionally add what his Aura and subsequent bow is... It’s... A brilliant green... which leads to him having the Lime Bow. Which yeah... it’s a light greeny-yellow colour really. Got to say, he’s been affected by things, whee.
