Whenever I am listening to Hall of Fame, I just see my favorite characters as the lyrics pass by. It makes me emotional because even if they aren't real – or may be a pain in the backside sometimes – it reminds me of how much I love them for who they are.

OKAY DESI HARRY POTTER FANS LISTEN!
I suddenly have this idea of a Mohabbatein retailing or rather inspired fanfiction of the Golden trio but slightly (A LOT) different.
Ofcourse we have good old Dumbledore as headmaster Narayan Shankar.
Ms. Monica? No, Ms. Mcgonagall.
Then we can have Harry as Karan, Ron as Vicky and our boy Neville as Sameer.
For the girls – Ginny as Sanjana, Hermione as Ishika and Hannah as Kiran.
— The idea of Neville and Hannah being childhood friend and him being in love with her is just so sweet.
— Whoever was Kiran's boyfriend (Deepak ig forgot his name) can be Draco. Because that guy was shitty and I don't like Draco.
— And Ron and Hermione just gave those same rivals to lovers vibes ngl.
— Harry falling in love with Gin not knowing who she was is top tier for me. (Her dead husband is Dean. Yeah...)
Also James Potter as Raj Aryan Malhotra and Lily Evans as Megha. (Don't ask me how Harry doesn't know him cuz this is an AU)
OR WE CAN HAVE THE ENTIRE THING IN MARAUDERS EDITION!!
— James and Lily as Vicky and Ishika. Don't ask me why because we all know it.
— Sirius and Marlene? Sameer and Kiran? YES! (Shitty bf is Barty or Severus maybe. Bcz can't stand them)
— Remus is Karan and Tonks is Sanjana. Ahaha yess. (Then her ex husband would be Bill. Sorry Bill I love you but sorry)
Yeah.... Neville as Raj Aryan and Hannah as Megha. (AU fic so he can be older!!)
ANYBODY IS FREE TO WRITE THIS. JUST TAG ME IF YOU DO.
I JUST NEED A GOOD BOLLYWOOD-ISH FIC ABOUT THEM. FUCK.
Once again this is an AU fic so don't come at me how their personalities doesn't match and blah blah blah.
Part 1, 2, 3, 4
This is part 3 of my Bollywood x Harry Potter ideas

niche but Neville and Hannah! I love the little snippets of them we get in Beasts <3
thank you for asking about neville and hannah for this ask game anon and being so nice about how i have tried to include them in beasts :) :) :) the lovely @mimisays8 asked about them too!
hannah and neville are such a lovely fun couple to imagine and think about. i do realise this sounds ridiculous because they canonically interact very briefly once, when neville says harry saved the 'philogical' stone :) and hannah is like wow :) (...) still, though, there are these very small little nods to them having certain things in common and to being cutie patooties in their cores that gives fic writers so much to play with. obviously, neville from day dot is a dweeby nervous deeply unconfident little sweetie pie. in hannah's opening scene, too, she '[stumbles] out of line, [puts] on the hat, which [falls] right down over her eyes', establishing her, too, as a cute nervous flop. when hannah worries about azkaban escapee sirius black, she tells everyone black is disguising himself by turning into a flowering shrub. she's got plants on the brain your honour! it's meant to be. i think it's nice to imagine their dynamic as a couple as being too smiley lovely beans taking it in turns to squeeze the other person's hand reassuringly while pulling each other out of the way of passing buses/puddles etc. (more waffle below the cut)
of course, the slightly sad thing about hannah and neville is that they both spend most of canon feeling awful about themselves. neville, obviously, is neville (he thinks he's good as a squib! baby!). but hannah, for an exceptionally minor character, gets all these wee moments where the reader is told she has very low self-confidence. in ootp, hannah abbott vs owls gets its own tiny subplot. ('All the fifth years were suffering from stress to some degree, but Hannah Abbott became the first to receive a Calming Draught from Madam Pomfrey after she burst into tears during Herbology and sobbed that she was too stupid to take exams and wanted to leave school now.') then she has an absolute meltdown during her owls and causes a flamingo stampede in the middle of an exam, which makes everything neville has ever done look slick. losers! soulmate losers. i love the idea of the two of them really knowing what it's like to gravely doubt yourself and feel very very rubbish about your self worth, and channelling that experience into being very supportive partners and parents, one day (and a teacher and friend to a future generation of hogwarts students, later in life!)
one of the other elements to hannah and neville is that they also both know something about grief and loss. hannah loses her mum when she's sixteen: neville grieves what his parents could have been every time he visits them. i don't think shared experiences of loss are necessarily a stable basis for a ship in all instances, but with hannah and neville, i really like it being part of what they are to each other and other people, as something that informs their capacity for great empathy and compassion and a real emotional maturity that comes with having gone through familial experiences that are so momentous and life-changing.
in my headcanon in beasts, i imagine that the period when hannah and neville became closer, and also when they both began to change and grow up as people and gain some self confidence, was during the war in the DA. neville, we know, grows hugely in confidence in that year. but hannah, too, seems to have changed a lot from her 15 to 17 year old self - she's gone from calling herself too stupid to be a witch to fighting in a huge great big battle (nearly getting personally bumped off by voldemort himself, huge slay). obviously i play with the idea that her and ginny became friends through the DA the year before, just because i think it makes a lot of sense as a way to draw hannah in to the wider group of golden and silver trios in a way that she isn't, really, in canon. but in general just think it's lovely to imagine hannah finally getting a bit of belief and self esteem in a growth arc that parallels neville's (and to give another female character an arc in general, in a series that underserves its female characters at every single bloody turn)

❄️HARRY POTTER REC FEST 2023❄️
Lightning round because i for sure got distracted and never finished after day 12
so here we go i wont go into too much detail for any of these I did skip a couple that i didn't have an idea for as expected but enjoy!
13. A fic with over 100k words
Percy Take the Wheel by KittySmith
My personal favorite long Percy-centric fic!
Based on the concept of “What if Molly and Arthur died between the first and second books and Percy ended up being the brother to step up to take care of his younger siblings”
14. A favorite series
Harry Potter and the Ticket Backwards by viciousmouse
Gen Time travel Au’s my beloved. Another Harry goes back in fic but this one has a ton of focus on smaller characters Dudley, Susan Bones, Hannah Abbott ect ect.
Also Harry convinces Percy to try to become a lawyer.
16 A fic that made you laugh
Hexes Are Not Romantic by Electroid
Flintley with Marcus being dumb and not going about this whole flirting thing very well. Very cute.
19. Fic with the hottest smut
Points (not) Taken by Green
Flintley with honestly, again Marcus just not doing boundaries but i think about it alot, it’s probably one of my favorite Flintley works.
20. A fic rated G
Dancing Lessons by HPfanatic12
Gen fic where Percy teaches Harry how to dance for the Yule Ball. Very cute and fun concept.
+ Ludicrous by mrsprobie
Justin Finch-Fletchley/Percy Weasley, meet cute. Very cute.
23. A soulmate fic
Into Oblivion by hmweasley
Draco Malfoy/Percy Weasley, I know someone else has Rec’ed this one for this fest already but i am too it’s very interesting
24. A holiday fic
Saving Christmas by A_Door
Percy Weasley/Blaise Zabini, Very cute story of Blaise trying to show Percy their into him without saying it despite their many attempts going right over Percy’s head.
25. A fic rated T
wholly true by starsailing
Flintley, Once again awkward Marcus trying to court/flirt will never not be entertaining to me. In this case with gift giving
26. A fic with an ending you can’t stop thinking about
There's Rue for You by Mr_Customs_Man
Flintley but only like kinda, anyway Ok so i’ll admit i'm stretching ending here. The part I think the most about with this is the end of Percy’s stay with Marcus but still I think about the regular ending too, because that whole last paragraph is just oof.
It’s fic exploring an AU where Peter polyjuiced as Percy after the fight and Percy goes through hell
27. A Muggle-AU fic
blueberry eyes ( seem to make time still ) by pandorascrate
Hannah Abbott/Percy Weasley. I liked that they didn't immediately get together. It took years in the story for them to get together. Also Percy feels good in this. I like the way he was written.
29. A post-canon fic More Lessons in Grieving as Taught by Dennis Creevy by angeladex
Gen Dennis and George talk after the final battle. Pulling Dennis into stories revolving around the Weasley’s grief for Fred is always really interesting to me and i’m not going to lie this one almost made me cry.
30. A pre-canon fic Life Lessons as Taught by Luna Lovegood by angeladex
Gen When Luna’s mom dies she goes to the burrow to tell the Weasley’s her family won’t be coming over for dinner after all and Percy walks her home. I really liked this. Percy’s reactions to a 9 year old Luna trying to weave around saying outright that her mom is dead was really good.
31. A fav amongst favs Vivaldi and Hot Chocolate by Patriceavril
Stan Shunpike/Percy Weasley, I’m very biased towards this one i won’t even lie but i love it very much. It’s cute, it’s sweet. Percy’s characterization is really nice. Stan’s characterization is really fun.

Can you write a Hermione fic where it takes place in the Yule Ball, (this is the movie version) and after Ron is mean as hell, and she’s left crying on the stairs, reader (who is Hufflepuff) finds her and comforts her. Reader has always had a crush on her, but respected that she was Krum’s date. During that whole night it’s full of comfort with Hermione development some what feelings for reader, then fast forward to order of the Phoenix, after escaping death, they both confess that they have been crushing and get together? Bonus if Ron goes into piss crybaby mode when he sees Hermione now with reader and reader just looks at him with a “That’s right, she chose me cause i treat her with respect and care so suck it!!” look!
She Chose Me
Tumblr media
Summary: You've always had a crush on Hermione, and all it takes is a ball and an almost death for you to get together
Warnings: Jerk Ron. Curse Words
P.S Thank you Anon for the request!!!
NOT PROOFREAD
----
In the bustling excitement of the Yule Ball, amidst the whirl of elegant gowns and polished robes, there was a unique presence that caught the eye—a figure that stood out not for the frills of their attire, but for the confident aura they exuded. That figure was you, Y/n, a Hufflepuff with a penchant for mischief and a talent for Quidditch that soared beyond Hogwarts' grounds.
With tousled hair that hinted at a recent scrimmage on the Quidditch pitch and a mischievous grin that never seemed far from your lips, you navigated the crowd with the ease of someone who was equally at home in the air as on solid ground. Despite your athletic prowess and charm, there was a certain sense of humility about you, a quiet confidence that spoke volumes of your character.
As your eyes scanned the room, they inevitably fell upon the object of your secret affections—Hermione Granger. There she stood, radiant in her gown, her arm entwined with Viktor Krum's as they moved gracefully across the dance floor. You couldn't help but feel a pang of longing as you watched her, knowing that she was out of reach, destined to be swept away by the famous Quidditch player's charm.
Though you had never been particularly close with Hermione, your paths had crossed numerous times throughout your years at Hogwarts. Your shared academic excellence and her unwavering dedication to her studies had earned her both admiration and respect from you, even if your playful antics and mischievous nature often grated against her more serious demeanor.
You've always had a crush on Hermione, ever since your first year at Hogwarts, but you've never acted on it. You respect her too much to interfere with her relationship, even if it's just for one night.
So as you sat on the sidelines, nursing a drink and trying to blend into the background, your attention was inevitably drawn to the enchanting sight of Hermione gliding across the dance floor with Viktor. The music swirled around you, mingling with the laughter and chatter of your fellow students, but your gaze remained fixed on Hermione, her smile lighting up the room as she twirled gracefully in Krum's arms.
You were surrounded by your friends. Hannah Abbott, your best friend, is chatting animatedly with her date, a Gryffindor boy whose name escapes you at the moment. And then there's Draco Malfoy, your other best friend, of all people, who somehow ended up becoming one of your closest friends despite all odds.
Draco is off dancing with Astoria Greengrass, his eyes alight with a rare spark of happiness as he twirls her around the dance floor. You can't help but smile at the sight, despite the ache in your chest. If anyone deserves a moment of joy, it's Draco.
Beside you, Harry sipped his drink, his gaze also drawn to the dancing pair. "She looks happy," he remarked softly, his tone tinged with a hint of longing.
You nodded, unable to tear your eyes away from Hermione. "She does," you agreed, your voice barely above a whisper.
Across the room, you spotted your best friend Hannah Abbott, her face flushed with excitement as she danced with her date. Draco Malfoy was nowhere to be seen, probably off causing mischief somewhere, as usual.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" Harry asked, turning to you with concern in his eyes.
You offered him a small smile. "I am, Harry. It's nice just being here with everyone."
He returned your smile before taking another sip of his drink. "You know, you could always ask Hermione to dance," he suggested casually.
Your heart skipped a beat at the thought, but you quickly shook your head. "No, Harry. She's here with Krum. I don't want to intrude."
Harry shrugged, but his eyes held a knowing glint. "Suit yourself," he said with a playful smirk.
As the night wore on, you continued to watch Hermione and Krum, feeling a pang of jealousy every time they laughed or twirled together. But deep down, you knew that Hermione deserved to be happy, even if it wasn't with you.
As the night progressed, you found yourself lost in conversation with Harry, the two of you exchanging anecdotes and sharing lighthearted laughs as you watched the festivities unfold. But soon, your attention was drawn away from the dance floor as Hermione approached, her expression a mixture of frustration and exasperation.
"Hey, Hermione," you greeted her with a warm smile, though you couldn't help but notice the tension in her posture.
Hermione sighed, sinking down onto the empty space beside you and Harry. "Mind if I join you guys?" she asked, her voice tinged with irritation.
"Of course not," Harry replied, gesturing for her to sit. "What's wrong?"
However, before Hermione could respond, you were interrupted as Ron Weasley made his way over to join your small group, his expression sour and his words biting.
"Hey, Y/n, Harry," Ron greeted, though there was little warmth in his tone.
You offered a polite nod in return, but before you could respond, Ron launched into his tirade, his eyes fixed on Hermione with a mix of concern and frustration. "He's using you," he spat out, his words dripping with disdain.
Hermione's brow furrowed in disbelief, her lips parting to retort, but before she could utter a word, Ron continued, his tone growing harsher by the second. "Doubt it. He's way too old," Ron spat, his words cutting through the air like a knife.
Hermione's eyes widened in shock, her cheeks flushing with anger as she squared her shoulders, ready to defend herself. "What? What? That's what you think?" she shot back, her voice trembling with a mix of indignation and hurt.
"Yeah, that is what I think," Ron replied stubbornly, his gaze unwavering as he met Hermione's fiery glare.
"You know the solution then, don't you?" Hermione challenged, her voice steely as she refused to back down.
Ron faltered for a moment, caught off guard by Hermione's defiance, but he quickly recovered, his expression hardening as he turned to Harry, seeking validation for his words.
Before Harry could respond, Ron's tirade continued, his words growing even more hurtful with each passing moment. "You're just blinded by his fame and money, Hermione. You can't see that he's not good enough for you," Ron spat, his voice dripping with disdain.
Hermione's eyes filled with tears, her hands trembling with a mixture of anger and hurt as she struggled to maintain her composure. "Ron, how could you say that?" she whispered, her voice breaking with emotion.
But Ron seemed oblivious to her distress, his words barbed with a cruelty that cut deep. "Face it, Hermione. You're just his little trophy, nothing more," Ron sneered, his tone dripping with malice.
You watched in silence, your heart aching for Hermione as Ron's words continued to chip away at her resolve. But as you saw her on the verge of tears, something inside you snapped. With a surge of righteous anger coursing through your veins, you finally found your voice.
"Ron, that's enough!" you interjected, your tone firm as you stepped forward, your eyes flashing with a rare intensity.
Ron's eyes widened in surprise at your sudden outburst, and for a moment, he looked almost scared as he took a step back, his earlier bravado faltering in the face of your unwavering gaze.
"Just bloody shut up, Ron!" you spat, your voice cutting through the air like a whip.
For a moment, there was silence, broken only by the soft strains of music drifting through the air. And then, to your surprise, Ron huffed in indignation, turning away in a huff, his face flushed with embarrassment.
But Hermione's distress was already evident, her shoulders slumping as tears welled up in her eyes. Without a word, she turned and fled from the ballroom, her heart heavy with the weight of Ron's cruel words.
---
After the biting exchange with Ron, Hermione couldn't bear to stay in the crowded ballroom any longer. With tears blurring her vision and her heart heavy with sorrow, she fled from the dance floor, seeking solace in the quiet solitude of the grand staircase.
As she descended the marble steps, each one echoing with the heavy weight of her despair, Hermione's breath hitched in her throat, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. She found herself a secluded spot on the staircase, hidden away from prying eyes, and sank down onto the cold stone steps, her sobs echoing in the cavernous space.
It was there that you found her. Your heart twisted at the sight of Hermione, her shoulders shaking with silent tears as she cradled her head in her hands. Without a word, you settled down beside her, leaving a respectful distance between you, and sat in silence, allowing her the space to grieve.
The weight of the moment hung heavy in the air, the only sound the soft echo of Hermione's sobs and the distant strains of music drifting up from the ballroom below. You resisted the urge to speak, understanding that sometimes the greatest comfort came not from words, but from the simple act of being there.
For a while, neither of you spoke, the only sound the soft echo of Hermione's tears gradually fading into the stillness of the night.
"Why are you here?" Hermione's voice trembled with emotion as she finally broke the silence, her eyes red-rimmed and vulnerable.
You offered her a small, understanding smile. "Because I care about you, Hermione. And no one deserves to be alone when they're feeling like this."
Hermione's lips twitched into a wistful smile, a hint of gratitude shining through her tears. "Thank you, Y/n. I don't know why Ron would say such a thing?"
You gently squeezed her shoulder, a surge of protective anger rising within you as you thought of Ron's hurtful words. "Well, you know Ron," you said, your tone tinged with sarcasm, "he can be a down right prat sometimes."
Hermione's eyes widened in surprise, but then a small chuckle escaped her lips, the tension in her shoulders easing slightly. "That's one way to put it," she agreed, a hint of amusement coloring her voice.
You smiled at her, grateful for the brief moment of levity amidst the sadness. "You're worth so much more than what he says. You're strong, and smart, and you deserve someone who sees that."
Hermione's smile grew warmer, her gratitude shining in her eyes as she leaned her head against your shoulder. "I needed to hear that."
As the tension of the earlier encounter with Ron began to dissipate, you sensed Hermione gradually relaxing in your presence. With a mischievous glint in your eyes, you decided it was time to lighten the mood and lift her spirits.
"Hey, 'Mione," you said, a playful grin spreading across your face, "want to do something fun? I know just the thing."
Hermione looked at you with a mix of confusion and curiosity, but she nodded tentatively. "Okay, sure."
Without another word, you took Hermione's hand in yours, a thrill of excitement coursing through you as you led her away from the staircase and towards the top of the tower. The night air was crisp and cool against your skin as you ascended the winding staircase, the distant sound of laughter and music fading into the background.
Finally, you reached the top of the tower, the city spread out below you like a twinkling sea of lights. Hermione's eyes widened in awe at the breathtaking view, a soft gasp escaping her lips as she took in the sight.
"It's beautiful," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper.
You smiled proudly, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having shared this moment with her. "I thought you might like it," you replied, your tone filled with warmth.
As you both settled down on the cold stone floor, a comfortable silence fell between you, broken only by the soft rustle of the wind. And then, unable to resist, you made a funny joke, a playful twinkle in your eye as you waited for Hermione's reaction.
To your delight, Hermione's laughter rang out like music in the night, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she leaned against you, her head resting gently on your shoulder.
"Maybe you're not so annoying after all, Y/n," Hermione teased, her tone light and playful.
You feigned offense, placing a hand over your heart in mock indignation. "I'll have you know, Hermione Granger, that annoying is my middle name," you replied with a grin, unable to hide the warmth in your voice.
Hermione chuckled softly, her laughter echoing in the quiet night air. And as you sat there together, bathed in the glow of the moonlight, you knew that this moment was one you would cherish forever.
And little did you know, that this would be the night, that Hermione would start seeing you not just as a friend, but as something more
----
The events of the Yule Ball felt like a lifetime ago as you found yourselves in the midst of the chaos and danger of the wizarding world. The darkness of Voldemort's return cast a long shadow over Hogwarts, and every day brought new challenges and dangers.
But it wasn't until a harrowing encounter with Death Eaters that everything changed. All it took was a forbidden curse, other than Avada Kedavra, of course, to cause you sheer terror as you watched the spell being aimed at Hermione.
Instinct took over, and without a second thought, you threw yourself in harm's way, shielding the brunette from the deadly curse that was hurtling towards her. The world seemed to blur as pain seared through your body, but in that moment, all that mattered was keeping Hermione safe.
When the danger had passed, and you lay battered and bruised, Hermione's fury erupted like a tempest. Her words were like daggers, each one cutting deep as she berated you for your reckless actions, her fear and anger pouring out in a torrent of emotion.
"You could have died, Y/n!" Hermione's voice cracked with emotion, her eyes blazing with unshed tears. "I can't believe you would do something so stupid!"
Your own frustration boiled over, your defenses rising in response to her accusations. "I did what I had to do, Hermione!" you shot back, your voice raw with emotion. "I couldn't just stand by and watch you get hurt!"
" Doesn't mean you just recklessly throw yourself put there. Are you stupid? What in the bloody hell is wrong with you?"
The air crackled with tension as the argument escalated, harsh words exchanged in the heat of the moment. But then, in a moment of clarity, the truth spilled out, raw and unfiltered.
"You know what's wrong with me?" Words began to tumble out of your mouth
"What's wrong with me is that I'm in love with you!" you confessed, your voice trembling with emotion as you bared your soul to her. "I've loved you for so long, and I couldn't bear the thought of losing you."
For a moment, there was silence, broken only by the sound of your ragged breathing and the faint echo of Hermione's heartbeat. And then, to your surprise, Hermione's anger seemed to evaporate, replaced by a softness in her gaze that took your breath away.
"Y/n," Hermione whispered, her voice barely above a whisper as she reached out a trembling hand to touch your cheek. "I… I love you too."
And in that moment, as the weight of your confession hung in the air between you, you knew that despite the darkness that threatened to engulf you, there was still light to be found in the depths of your shared love. And as you leaned in to kiss Hermione, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of you, and for now, that was all you wanted.
"So we're dating right?" you questioned, when we broke up
Hermione chuckled, "Yes"
"And you're my girlfriend?"
"Yes"
"And I'm not dead?"
"No you're not, knucklehead" Hermione rolled her eyes fondly, giving you another passionate kiss.
And as if on cue, Ronald Weasley walked in on the scene, his reaction speaking volumes.
"Bloody hell" he muttered "What is happening"
"Well, you dumbarse, Hermione and I are together" you smirked, your arm looping around your girlfriend's waist.
His face twisted into a mask of disbelief, his eyes widening in shock as he stared at Hermione and you, his expression a mix of hurt and anger.
"What?" Ron spluttered, his voice tinged with disbelief. "But… but Hermione, you can't be serious!"
Hermione's jaw tightened, her gaze steady as she met Ron's incredulous stare. "I am serious, Ron," she replied firmly, her voice unwavering despite the tension in the air. "Y/n and I love each other, and we've decided to give this relationship a chance."
But Ron's demeanor only grew more petulant, his features contorting into a scowl as he turned away, his fists clenched at his sides. "This is ridiculous," he muttered under his breath, his tone laced with bitterness.
You felt a surge of frustration bubbling within you at Ron's reaction, but you refused to let his jealousy and insecurity dampen your joy. Meeting Ron's gaze head-on, you held his stare with an unyielding determination, a silent challenge in your eyes that spoke volumes.
In that moment, you refused to apologize for loving Hermione. She had chosen you, and you would cherish her with every fiber of your being. With a defiant tilt of your chin, you sent Ron a silent message that echoed through the air like a thunderclap. It was a message that said, "I won't back down. Hermione chose me, and I will stand by her side, no matter what."

Susan Bones
Canon:
She was born around 1980
She's a Half-Blood. This means that either her father was a Pureblood (since her last name comes from his side) and her mother was a Half-Blood, or her mother was a pureblood and her father a half-blood, or both of them were half-bloods already.
Her wizarding family were rather powerful and respected during the First Wizarding War, but because of this most of her family were murdered by Death Eaters in the aftermath.
We don't know if her parents were murdered during this time, but the only relevant family of the Bones that is canon is Amelia Bones, Susan's aunt, but she was killed in July 1996
She was a Hufflepuff, in the same year as the golden trio.
She seemed to be friends with Seamus Finnigan and Hermione Granger, as Hermione and Susan were paired together for Herbology and DADA in their second year and both had a crush on Professor Lockhart during that time, although it's unknown if they were friends after that. She's also seen talking with Seamus during classes and DA meetings.
We do know she was good friends with the Hufflepufss in her year, Hannah Abbott, Ernie Macmillan, and Justin Flinch-Fletchley, all of who were also members of the DA. It's unknown if she was friends with Zacharias Smith, another Hufflepuff in her year, even though he did attend DA meetings.
In her sixth year, she splinched herself while attending Aparating classes, losing one of her legs, although it was later reattached.
She was a member of the DA Army, but it isn't known if she was present during the Battle of Hogwarts, although it is most likely since she did attend Hogwarts for her seventh year at that time.
It is also not confirmed in canon whether she survived the second wizarding war, although it is most likely since her name wasn't listed among the deceased.
We also don't know what she did in the aftermath of the war
My Headcanons and Fancast for her (some of these are info about the bones family as well):
Eleanor Columbus as young Susan Bones:
Tumblr media
Alice Englert as older Susan Bones:
Tumblr media
She was born on October 22nd, 1979
Her Patronus is a Beagle
Her wand is made from Willow wood with a Unicorn core, 10 inches long, and swishy.
Her star sign is Libra
She's a half-blood
Her parents were Oscar Bones (Half-blood) and Eleanor Bones (Pure-blood).
Her grandparents were Alfred (Pure-blood) and Dorthory (Muggle-born), and the parents of Oscar, Amelia and Edgar Bones. Edgar was the oldest, Amelia was the middle child, and Oscar was the youngest.
Her grandparents were nicknamed Alfie and Dottie
Since she was raised by muggles, Susan's grandmother grew up reading muggle literature, which she absolutely adored. She was the one to come up with the names for her two sons, who were named after Edgar Poe and Oscar Wilde, both muggle English poets
Her uncle, Edgar, had three kids with his wife, Edith (Pure-blood) Chester Bones (eldest) and two daughters, Theodora and Mabel, who all died in the war in 1981, shortly before Voldemort was finally defeated.
Edgar and Edith were both around 33 when they died, their son Chester was around 12, and Theodora and Mabel were around 10 and 8 respectively.
Her parents were murdered by Voldemort shortly after her 1st birthday in 1980, a year before the war ended. They were both around 24 years old.
Her aunt, Amelia Bones, one of the few surviving members of the Bones family, took Susan in just after Susan's parents' death and raised her as her own, she was about 28 at the time.
Susan would call Amelia aunty mum.
Although Amelia was quite busy with her Ministry work, she did try to spend as much time with Susan as possible.
Susan had lived in Godric's Hollow with her parents, along with her uncle Edgar, Aunt Edith and her cousins, although once Amelia became her guardian, she moved to Wimbourne. Her uncle and aunty stayed, as Edgar was working alongside the Order of the Phoenix and James and Lily Potter, fellow members, lived there as well, albeit secretly, and Edgar thought he should look out for the Potters.
The Abbot family also lived in Godric's Hollow and were close with the Bones family. They stayed at Godric's Hollow until Edgar and Edith Bones' deaths, and then they moved to Wimbourne to be with Amelia and Susan Bones.
Hannah Abbott and Susan would grow up together, and their two families would make the trip to King's Cross Station to see the girls leave for each of their years at Hogwarts.
Susan and Hannah were both obviously sorted into Hufflepuff.
Susan wasn't one to actually play quidditch, but she rooted for the Wimbourne Wasps.
She loved Herbology and the History of Magic, and eventually the extra-curricular subjects, Muggle Art and Wizarding Art.
You'd just constantly find her in the greenhouses working on her plants or sketching, drawing and painting. or pouring over history books from the library.
Susan and Hannah would become good friends with Ernie Macmillian and Justin Finch-Fletchley.
They were basically known as the Hufflepuff Four.
She developed a crush on Ernie in her second year
She was good friends with a few Gryffindors in her year, like Hermione Granger, Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan.
Dean was quite talented in art, although he didn't tell many people, and Susan was one of the few he'd show his artwork to.
Hermione and Susan would meet officially on the Hogwarts Express at the start of the second year, and the two loved discussing the book, History of Magic, both of them having read it thoroughly.
They were also paired in Herbology, DADA, and History of Magic, and you'd often see them giggling together.
Susan was the one to make Hermione open up very easily early on, which she wouldn't do around even her other close friends, Ron and Harry, until much later.
Susan was upset when Hermione was petrified during the second year, along with Justin.
She'd visit the Hospital Wing constantly, and took notes for classes for both Hermione and Justin.
Although they weren't necessarily close, Susan was an acquaintance of Harry through Hermione and was one of the few who didn't think that he was behind the attacks in the second year, and would tell Hannah and Ernie off when they were convinced he was.
And Susan was friends with Seamus through Dean and would confide in him about things, especially since his mother was also working at the ministry. Although, they'd get into a disagreement when Seamus didn't believe the trio about Voldemort.
During the third year, she'd pick Wizard and Muggle art, Muggle Studies and Music as her extra-curricular classes.
Hermione and she were in the same Muggle studies class, and they'd often study together, and discuss recommendations for muggle books and music.
She loved music class as well and played the harp.
Susan would be concerned for Hermione because she was aware Hermione was using the time-turner to take so many classes. Although, she did enjoy the story of Hermione punching Malfoy, and thought it was a good thing Hermione was letting loose.
Before the beginning of the fourth year, Susan's Auntie would get free tickets to the Quidditch World Cup because of her position in the ministry, and Susan would go along with Ernie, Justin and Hannah. She'd also run into a few of other her friends there, including Hermione, Seamus and Dean.
Although she was excited when Cedric was picked as Hogwarts Champion and thought that Harry should not have been allowed to enter the tournament, she didn't believe that Harry put his name in the goblet of fire. She supported both Harry & Cedric, and refused to participate in picking sides, unlike Ernie and Hannah. Justin was the same, as he learnt his lesson from 2nd year, realising that he shouldn't have judged without all the facts.
Susan stood by Hermione and didn't believe the rumours Rita Skeeter was making up about her. Susan was the only one who knew that Fred Weasley was Hermione's first kiss and not Victor Krum and that Hermione only viewed Krum as a friend.
Susan went to the Yule Ball with Zacharias Smith, mostly as friends though.
She was over the moon when she found out that Hermione and Fred were dating
Susan was saddened by Cedric's death. Although she was afraid, she did believe that Voldemort was back.
In her fifth year, she was upset when Ernie (who she still had a crush on) started dating Leanne, a Hufflepuff and friend of Katie Bell after they both joined the Hufflepuff Quidditch team to honour Cedric (who they had admired greatly) as a keeper and chaser respectively.
However, she started dating Zacharias Smith that same year. Zacharias was a Chaser on the Hufflepuff Team as well.
And Susan would read up on quidditch to support both her boyfriend and friend
Justin and she were also definitely the conspirators behind getting Neville Longbottom and Hannah together when they started noticing the two hanging out together a lot more.
Suan had previously been friends with Neville for a while, as they had been paired together for Herbology the year prior, but thought Hannah would be a good match for him.
She'd also joined Dumbledore's Army that year, and enjoyed the lessons., Susan was the one to convince her 4 Hufflepuff friends (Ernie, Zacharias, Hannah and Justin) to join.
However, this caused issues between Zacharias and her, the former being continuously sceptical of harry, Hermione and ron, and the return of Voldemort, whereas Susan believed it was true, and didn't like the comments her boyfriend would make towards her friends. After about 6 months of dating, the pair would split.

Okay but set during Halfblood Prince! Female pronouns, Ravenclaw reader.
The reader is friends with Rolf, Luna, and Hannah. Rolf and Luna are the couple goals of the friend group. Also the reader is crushing on Neville, who secretly has a crush on her. Hannah is more focused on school than dating. Meanwhile, Seamus can't get a date to save his life and Dean starts dating Ginny. The reader, Dean, and Seamus start a little folk band (yk kinda like that Ed Sheeran song Galway Girl) and she starts dating Seamus because she doesn't think Neville is interested. You decide if it ends in fluff or angst.
Galway Girl (Neville Longbottom x Female Ravenclaw!Reader x Seamus Finnigan)
Okay so this is a really cute request. Honestly, Neville is 100% my comfort character so this is also kinda sad for me. But let's go!
youtube
Listen to the song while you read. You know, for the vibe. Also I left out some details from the song because I didn't know how to fit them in? So I hope that's okay?
Request: Yes/No
Summary: When all the reader's friends seem to be lucky in love, she feels left out. It seems like even Neville has been on dates with Hannah, who doesn't date. The only person in the same boat as her is Seamus. Dean and Seamus convince their Ravenclaw friend that they should start an Irish band. But does it solve or cause problems, when their friends find out about the little band at a Gryffindor party?
Warnings: Angsty but fluffy?, underage drinking, implication of weed, canon ships, emotional cheating, miscommunication, idiots in love, and also implied Irish reader? (a Galway Girl is a girl from Galway which is in Western Ireland)
Tumblr media
It all started about four months ago, Rolf Scamander had asked you advice for a date with a girl he really liked and you gave him advice. You didn't know who Rolf could possibly have a crush on but you were hyper aware of his sudden fascination with your housemate, Luna Lovegood. She was your friend and so was he. The two of them had never been close until they began hanging out four months ago. You hadn't thought much of it until they became your couple goals. They officially started dating after the third date. Everything about their relationship seemed to be like they were always meant to be together. It reminded you of how when you were twelve, you believed in soulmates. But it wasn't long before they realized that their own mutual pining made them blind to the fact that you had a crush on Neville Longbottom for years. They immediately felt bad and made your crush their business. Luna was pretty close with Neville and made sure he spent more time around your small friend group. But you were pretty sure he'd never like you. Hannah Abbott was the only other member of your small friend group and she spent most her time studying. She always said she was much too busy for dating but she also seemed to be rather close with Neville. Actually, the more you thought about it Neville had more friends than you. He was seemingly friends with Harry Potter and his friends. But Neville's closest friends were Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan. But then as of recent due to Luna and Rolf's interference, Neville's friends became yours. The friend group went for from four to seven.....eight when Dean started dating Ginny Weasley last month.
You were trying to get the group together for a group for a Hogsmead e trip but everyone had different plans . Ginny and Dean had a date. Rolf and Luna had a date. Hannah and Neville didn't really say what they were doing but both mentioned the greenhouses so you kind of assumed. So it was just you and Seamus. But it wasn't a date, you were just friends. It was obvious by how this forced date-like atmosphere made you both uncomfortable. So you both just went back to the castle and threw yourselves into studying in the library. After the third time of being ditched by your friends for dates, you guys just knew it was easier to go to the library and study. However, Seamus brought up something this particular time he hadn't brought up before. "Do you like Irish folk music?"
"Who's asking? You or Dean?"
"What?"
"Dean's going through a rough patch with Ginny and she likes Irish folk music."
"Right...thanks. Hey, want to start a band? You, Dean, and me?"
"What do I get out of it?" You raised an eyebrow and Seamus shrugged. "The joy of knowing you helped out a friend or two." The only problem with it was you didn't think Ginny genuinely liked Dean. "No. Tell Dean to find someone else." You got up and walked away.
Tumblr media
You'd been dodging Seamus and Dean for days, when they'd finally managed to corner you. You were in the Gryffindor common room looking for Neville. You were ready to finally confront him about his relationship with Hannah. It was irritating enough that you knew Hannah didn't tell you she liked Neville but the least they could do was admit they were together. You could have asked Hannah for the truth but something told you it'd feel more true if you'd heard it from Neville. Maybe you needed closure? However, you didn't find Neville because you ran into his two best friends. "Y/N, I know you think Ginny and I fight a lot." Dean started and you cut in harshly. "You do fight a lot." He took a sharp intake of breath before continuing. "But this isn't just for me. This could be good for all of us. Seamus won't be that Irish kid who can hold his whiskey. We can book gigs and make money. You can finally afford that trip to America you're always talking about." You couldn't help but be a little interested in the idea. "I'll think about it. But you have to make me a promise. Neville can never know I was here today." The two boys looked at each other then back at you before Dean grinned. "We promise, he won't know." You nodded and left the Gryffindor common room.
Tumblr media
It was that weekend, the three of you were in the library whispering amongst yourselves about this band of yours. You were secretly passing around a small flask of fire whiskey under the table and sitting at one of the back tables where not many people would sit. "So are we going with trad tunes, newer stuff, or our own music?" You asked with a bit of curiosity gracing your face and Seamus shrugged. "Why not all three? How about instruments? Y/N, you should sing." You frowned. "I can really wanna play the fiddle but in songs where it's not needed I'll sing." Dean nodded. "I can sing most times then because Seamus can't sing worth shit and honestly I think we'll need like a piano." Seamus rolled his eyes. "We'll need some base so Bodhrán? We'll probably sound like shit but at least we'll be ridiculed as friends." Those were the last words said before you guys spent the rest of the Quidditch season doing band practice instead of supporting your Quidditch teams.
You were ecstatic when you heard Gryffindor got the Quidditch Cup but extremely disappointed. They'd beat your team. You quietly walked over to your table in mock shame while the Gryffindors celebrated. You walked over to Neville after the feast and asked if you were invited to the party to celebrate Gryffindor's win. He informed you that he'd thought Seamus or Dean would have invited you since you seemed to be with them a lot lately. There seemed to be a hint of anger in his voice. And you couldn't hold back the vile feeling that built up inside you. "Well excuse me for wanting to actually hang out with my friends. You and Hannah seem to always be at the greenhouse. Luna and Rolf are always together. Dean and Ginny.... they're on a break. And Seamus...well he and I are in the same boat." You quickly walked away catching up with Dean and Seamus. It seemed like your body relaxed almost instantly as you started laughing with them about some inside joke Neville couldn't understand. "She doesn't mean it, you know." He recognized the voice but turned to look anyways. "Yes, she does. She's right. You and I are always together lately. I didn't think about how that must look to our friends until..."
"The girl you like said it?"
"Yeah."
"Back in third year, she said you were her type."
"Do you think I still am?" Hannah shrugged in response to the question. They quietly walked to the Gryffindor common room where the celebration for winning Quidditch Cup was being thrown.
When they got to the common room, Neville saw you chatting with Dean, Seamus, and Ginny. From the looks of it Dean and Ginny made up again. You looked really happy and you had a drink in hand. He turned his attention to Ron, who everyone in Gryffindor was praising, and was shocked by Lavender Brown suddenly kissing him. But he clapped along with everyone else in the room. It didn't even occur to him to care that Harry and Hermione left or that shortly after Lavender and Ron left. It seemed pretty normal behavior. He just went back to watching you with his two best friends. He joined the small group only to notice you were ignoring him. "Seamus, I'll bet 5 gaellons I can beat you at darts." It was shook on and sure enough you won. "Double nothing for pool." He said he conjured up a pool table and you nodded. In agreement to his terms. Sure enough, you beat him. "You owe me 10 gaellons, Finnigan." He rolled his eyes and you smirked. "You know what? You're really cute, I'll excuse your debt." All at once three voices screamed "WHAT?!" All male Gryffindors and your friends. You pulled him into a kiss and kisses him like no one else was there. He didn't know Neville had a crush on you. How could he? Neville was always with Hannah! He pulled you closer and kissed back. It was only a few minutes before he pulled back and you both grinning. "Debt paid." Neville walked away in what looked to be an annoyed state. You cringed but you didn't do it to hurt him. You did it because you felt like you needed a win and whining over a boy with a girlfriend wasn't a win. "Seamus, wanna go to Hogsmeade together sometime?" You asked with a bit of regret and he nodded but didn't seem to know what to say. You knew he usually had a crude sense of humor but in the past few weeks you'd grown so accustom to it.... actually kinda found it funny. And in that same way, grown to rather close to him and Dean. But his sense of humor isn't why you felt regret. It was the brunette boy, who was talking to Luna. Luna looked at you in shock and then shrugged at Neville. She didn't have an explanation and you didn't expect her to.
Neville seemed shocked as Ginny announced that a had a surprise had been arranged for Gryffindor. The music that was playing was stopped while Ginny explained what the surprise was.
You, Seamus, and Dean were singing and playing your instruments to traditional Irish songs. Dean seemed so uncomfortable with how close you and Seamus suddenly were. Neville, Luna, and Rolf sat in a corner talking about this surprise. "I just can't believe it. Just yesterday, she was complaining about how Neville was dating Hannah." Rolf muttered and Neville rolled his eyes. "I'm not. We've just been hanging out in the greenhouse together. We're friends." Luna laughed slightly. "Hannah didn't tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"Y/N had a crush on you."
"Well Hannah told me that."
"Well... sometimes she hides her feelings."
"What are you trying to say?"
Rolf cut in. "Well, you could ask Y/N or you could retreat over there." He pointed to a group of Gryffindors with a cloud of smoke surrounding them. "And relieve your stress how you usually do." Of course Neville didn't want to confront the girl who just kissed his best friend so he walked over to the group of Gryffindors. They probably got it from his dorm mates anyways. He was actually doing a pretty good job of tuning the little band out. It wasn't until heard the song "Carrickfergus" that he had to look up. He'd heard Seamus play this song a million times over. But he'd never heard it sang so sweet. You were amazing to him.
After awhile, Seamus and Dean had enough and wanted to get back to the party. But you still wanted to sing your heart out. This wasn't for Dean or Seamus. This wasn't for your band. You were doing this for you. You shot back another glass of fire whiskey and were back at it. Except this time you had to sing a capella in and use your feet for a beat. Seamus was amazed at your enthusiasm and couldn't stop calling you his girlfriend to anyone that would listen. Neville, however, was silent. He was memorizing everything about you in this moment. He wanted to have your voice playing on repeat for a week. Any normal person would think you were singing to the boy claiming to be your boyfriend and maybe you should have been. But you weren't. Your heart immediately wanted to reach out to the boy who'd liked since you were like twelve or thirteen. But the part you were unaware of is even this packed room, he would swear on his life you were singing to him. But his hopes and dreams were crushed Cormac McLaggen convinced you to let him play some Weird Sisters and other Wizard Rock music. Seamus immediately grabbed your waist, kissed you on the neck, and then took you by the hand. You smiled at the boy nervously like you didn't know what was happening. He smiled in a way that was actually comforting and said, "Baby, I just want to dance." But the entire time you were dancing with Seamus, you were thinking about Neville.
Tumblr media
When the few Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws that showed up had outstayed their welcome, you walked back to your common room with Neville. Luna had convinced Seamus it was safer if Neville took you back since he hadn't drank as much. And if Seamus wasn't so drunk maybe he would have thought about how Luna was going to the same place as you anyway. But he was still shooting back firewhiskey and couldn't think straight. So you were holding hands with Neville as you walked through the corridors.
Come tomorrow you'd be Seamus' girlfriend but tonight you could be Neville's. He smelt of smoke and whiskey. It was so intoxicating but your lungs were full of the cool night air that the stone castle walls let in. You smiled at him and whispered. "I swear I'm gonna put you in a song that I write."
"I'm not Seamus you know."
"That's why it'll be about a Galway Girl and her perfect night."
Neville shook his head in disbelief. He was convinced you wouldn't remember it tomorrow so he spoke words he shouldn't. "Then I guess you're my pretty little Galway Girl."

hi!! I was rereading your works, and I wanted to ask something. In the third part of the Armistice Series you say: “They chat a while about mutual friends, Neville filling them in on Luna’s latest trip and how Seamus and Dean are doing. A lot of his stories are peppered with mentions of Hannah, as he seems to eat most of his meals at the Leaky these days.”
Was this a foreshadowing for HannahxNeville? I thought Hannah might have been ace but maybe she is not aro? I was just curious and Neville is an excellent character in Changeling-verse. Thank you in advance!!
Ahhhhh, you had to ask me about this. My great regret. So, like. I may have mentioned there having been a plan at one point. Of a fourth armistice. and then a Dudley fic. And then maybe another armistice fic. Well AFTER THAT, there was supposed to be a NEVILLE fic. My darling. This fic. the one I have all of 1000 nonsensical words scribbled about and am pretty sure will never get written.
In general, it's supposed to be a 'Augusta Longbottom dies and Neville inherits the house and tries to deal by spending all his time in the gardens and greenhouses of the old manor while various of his friends move in and out as needed' fic. Neville deciding if being an auror was really for himself or for his Gran. For his parents. And, yes, Hannah, his best friend of nearly a decade, being there to help every step of the way. It's how they both find a roundabout way to the paths and dreams they both thought closed forever to them, and fall in love along the way, even if it doesn't look quite the way they've been told it's supposed to.
You can have what little I have, if you want! Snippet of the unnamed fic below. (cw: death of a family member, grief)
Augusta Longbottom dies the way she lives her life—on her own schedule, exactly when she is ready, and with complete dignity.
Neville speaks to her one last time the evening before, sitting by her enormous bed in a stiff, uncomfortable chair. He isn’t close enough to touch her, but close enough to hear her words, quiet but still laced with steel.
“You’ve made me proud, Neville. Walking in your father’s footsteps, completing his fight. Taking up the work that needs to be done.”
It’s an ending, certainly.
The thing she doesn’t tell him is what’s supposed to come next.
**
At the wake, Ginny is there, pregnant and impatient while trying not to look like she is, Harry a bit wide-eyed and terrified when he isn’t looking at her with the soppiest grin Neville’s ever seen.
It’s been eight years since Ron and Hermione got married, but Harry and Ginny still haven’t shown any inclination, even as her belly swells. Their friends are smart enough not to say anything about it, even if the press is as stupid as ever.
Ginny reaches out and holds his hand.
“I need to go tell my mum and dad,” Neville says as the guests start to depart. He isn’t sure why he hasn’t gone yet.
“We’ll go with you,” Ginny says, voice fierce in that way that says she will not be argued with.
He doesn’t bother trying.
**
When Luna returns from her latest expedition a few months later, she moves into one of the spare bedrooms. Rolf—not her boyfriend or husband or anything else, he’s told—visits at times, but rarely for long. Luna seems pleased with the arrangement, like Rolf is someone who understands all of her, takes her just as she is and demanding nothing more.
Neville’s glad.
A few months after that, Ginny’s back to work after giving birth and recovering, and Harry is home with the baby. He comes by a few times a week. Harry claims it’s for his own sanity, but Neville still can’t help but feel like maybe he’s checking in on Neville, whose leave from the Aurors has stretched into its ninth month without any sign of ending. Rosier, at this point, has stopped asking.
It’s kind of weird to see Harry like this, baby bouncing on his lap, just as sure and capable as in a fight.
There’s been things in the papers, of course, Henpecked Potter Stuck Home on Nappy Duty, all about how Ginny has unmanned him. Or how disappointingly unambitious Harry has turned out to be, after showing so much early promise. Wiling his days away at home. As if they hadn’t spent the last decade terrified of him, of what he might try to do.
Morons, the lot of them.
Then again, most people have no idea how much Harry quietly continued to do for all of them behind the scenes, [redacted for spoilers!]
To most people Harry is aimless and dominated by his quite possibly evil wife.
Harry doesn’t seem to care less what people think.
It occurs to Neville that to most people Neville is the one who looks properly focused, but he’s really completely adrift, whereas Harry looks like he is exactly where he wants to be. It’s the same stupid feeling that’s always been there, that the two of them are somehow two sides of the same coin. Warped reflections of the other.
You know it could have been you, Harry once confessed to him during a late night together spent pouring over reports trying to run down a particularly nasty artifact. Just as easily as me.
But that is as inconceivable as ever, that Neville could in any way be anything like Harry.
Neville is in awe as always, that Harry could walk away from the ministry. Just like that. Just decide there is something else he wants, damn prophecies and expectations and gossip all the same.
When he mentions it, Harry just lifts his daughter up to his face, blowing a raspberry on her pudgy cheek. “There’s always more work to be done. And it will still be there when I get back. This little one won’t.”
Neville can't argue with that, even if he were inclined to.
**
Spending so much time at the manor, Neville inevitably finds himself in the garden. It’s not neglected, exactly. There are people paid to care for the perfectly manicured rows of shrubs and lawn and flowering perennials. To sweep the paths. Like the one he bounced down the first time he showed any inkling for magic, Great Uncle Archie’s cackle echoing behind him.
He’s never liked the garden, is the thing. Not that he’d ever been brave enough to even think it.
Gran gave him a corner in the large conservatory for his plants, and so long as he kept it contained there, she never said anything about his silly habit. It was enough. Or so he always told himself.
He’s thought about it, is the thing. Just selling the manor. Moving into a flat somewhere. Just leaving it all behind--the memories, the expectations. But it also feels like he’s been leaving too much behind as it is.
So on the one-year anniversary of Gran’s passing, a year since he tanked his career through cowardly attrition, he speaks out loud to the rigid rows and lifeless paths the truth festering in his heart: “I’ve never liked this garden.”
The next week, he asks the gardeners into the parlor and starts making a new plan.
