kia ora my loves, i'm stuck with writers block on another piece and this is hopefully the cure <3 its all sweetness as usual [established relationship + fluff + 2k words] mucho mwahs as ALWAYS <3!

Steve’s in a bad mood.

Which might be very fair considering the state of the weather outside. Flurries of snow batter against the windows and a hair-raising chill leaks into the panes, painting them in condensation. It’s cold. You don’t want to be caught outside on a night like tonight.

But, somewhere across town, there’s a reservation under Steve’s name that is being wasted. At a pretty restaurant, with 2 too many forks for your taste — but Steve had insisted. Even put on a suit.

And even though Steve has told you he prefers the quieter nights in with just the two of you, he seems quite… miffed that you can’t go anymore.

Maybe not quite a bad mood but… well, it’s a hell of a pout he’s wearing.

Amber drenches the wall of the room, lit by your bedside table lamps — a cozy cocoon that feels worlds away from the blizzard coming down outside. You’re actually quite excited; there’s seldom a comfort like being in Steve’s arms when it’s cold like this. Tangled together in your bed, letting his perpetually blazing heart heat the both of you.

But… he’s still pouting. You’re both unwinding a bit, taking off what you’d managed to put on before the weather took a turn for the worse — but Steve’s stuck, hands in his pockets. He seems to be fumbling with something.

His silence worries you more. Maybe you hadn’t realised how actually upset he was that your plans were cancelled.

He had been mentioning it all week, all month actually- since he’d first made the booking. Some claim that you’d love the food and he loved any occasion to see you all dressed up and drool-worthy— (“Not that that’s not all the time, babe.”)

“Steve?” You say. His head jumps up, hands in his pockets going still. “C’mon, come to bed.”

He softens at your coaxing words. Like the very sound of them, the sweet nature of your words, melts his hardened edges. He nods, tugging off his tie and beginning to work on his belt.

In the meantime, you creep into the bed. It smells like a smattering of something sweet that you know to be Steve’s hairspray, fabric softener, and maybe what you think love might smell like if it had a scent. You sink into it lovingly. Warm. Safe.

Your eyes find him instinctively. Watching, observing, drinking in the sight of your lover soothes you like nothing else. Love spools messily in your chest, like a knotted ball of yarn strewn through your ribs. It aches sweetly. Steve catches you as he’s pulling a pair of sweatpants up his calf.

“You’re staring,” He states plainly, but he’s smiling a bit, lips turned up in the corners. He jumps, hiking his pants up over his hips, and wanders closer.

You nod, hair scrunching against the pillow. Your voice comes out a bit muffled when you speak. “That a crime?”

Steve grins this time. He pushes the covers back, kneeling on the mattress beside you — pausing to push back the hair covering your eyes. He smiles down at you, eyes fond. “If it is, lock me up, baby.”

He pauses, thumb drifting over cheekbone lightly. “I could look at ya all day.”

Something delightful purrs behind your ribs, warm and all-encompassing. Where you would’ve once hidden your face away, this time you just let your glee wash over your face — and let Steve see every second of it. You’re happy. Steve makes you happy.

Steve gives an awed exhale and flops, bouncing down on the mattress beside you. He works the duvet around, bundling up as best he can before his hands begin to search for you. Traversing across the sheets, seeking, til they meet skin. He hums happily. Pulls you into his chest and lets you figure out how you want to wrap around him, like unkempt ivy. He’s warm, as always.

You’re not even trying to sleep yet, either of you, just having a moment huddled up in each other's embrace. The wind whirls loudly outside. You wonder what you’d be doing if your plans had gone through.

“M’sorry,” you say into his chest. It rises and falls with his breath, soothing and constant. “That we couldn’t do dinner. Y’seemed really excited.”

Steve makes a little noise, saying that he agrees. For a moment, your words hang in the air and then he clears his throat, pulling you closer.

“S’okay, not like you can control the weather.” He murmurs his reply. He pulls back to peer down at you with suspicious eyes, a tease on his tongue. “Can you? Because as your boyfriend, I should totally know that, and considering what we’ve seen—“

“Shut up,” you giggle. You poke him in the ribs because you can’t think of a good jibe back.

“Shutting up,” Steve says, before snuggling back closer. There’s another moment of quiet. The window rattles in the absence of words. Steve sighs.

“Just…” He starts. You can already tell he’s got his thinking face on, a little furrow between his brows. “Had some good plans for tonight, is all. Not a big deal.”

“A plan within a plan,” you muse thoughtfully. Steve chuckles. “How layered this night could of been!”

“And instead, you just have to have this, huh?” Steve murmurs, dejection creeping into his voice. Your heart twists. He must’ve planned a lot just to watch it go down the drain.

You pull back from his embrace and catch his eyes, searching his face. Disappointment lingers in his expression and it pushes a pout onto your lips.

“Well, is there anything we can do? That was like your plans?” You ask.

Steve breaks into a grin, giving a chuckle — but a glint in his eyes says he’s grinning for another reason. He stares at you lovingly, eyes dragging up and down your face as he seemingly thinks of his answer. He shakes his head.

“Nuh uh. Nothing we can do tonight.” He says, a tad forlorn. His hand on your back sketches a soft stroke up your spine. You shiver in a good way and Steve speaks again, eyes searching somewhere behind you, imagining something. “Well, not— not the way I want to do this.”

There’s a long pause. At the same moment a soft realisation blooms in your chest and on your face, Steve seems to realise he’s said too much. His eyes widen, the apples of his cheeks turning scarlet.

“Were you gonna—?”

You push back from him, suddenly sitting up in the bed. Your heart thuds loudly in your chest, risking bruising the inside of your ribs with each resounding thud. You don’t even mind because… because…

Steve sits up too, wide-eyed expression still on his face. He looks flushed, taken off guard — he clearly hadn’t meant to tell you today. Well, he had meant to tell you today but he wanted to ask you at dinner, on one knee, and then the storm—

“You were gonna ask?” You squeak. A smile wobbles on your face as you try to rein in your reaction, even as joy floods every nerve. “Tonight?”

Steve seems unsure of the right way to answer. “Yes,” He stammers. Then crushes his eyes closed, dropping his eyes closed to curse. “Shit, I wasn’t supposed— I had it all planned! This isn’t—“

Steve pushes his palms into his eyes for a moment, dragging his hands down his face. You feel a pang of remorse for ruining your own surprise but it’s completely overshadowed by the rampant happiness. You can’t help yourself for what you say next.

“Yes.”

Steve blinks. “What?” A grin grows on his face, like your own is contagious even as he shakes his head. “I haven’t even asked you yet!”

He’s laughing, a glorious sound, and so are you. You're so full of love you feel stuffed like you’ve just eaten, it fills every crevice of your body. You nod. You think your teeth might be aching with how sweet the boy before you is— pouting and giving away his own surprises.

“I know,” you breathe. “But if- when you do, it’s a yes.”

And you’ve known it before. You have known it long before tonight that yours and Steve’s futures are knitted together so intricately that where one goes, the other follows. Still, knowing it and saying it— the difference steals your breath. You feel like a teenage fool again, back to the first time Steve ever asked you, ‘Be mine?’

Steve sinks into the pillows, deflating into them with a blinding grin. Like he hadn’t been sure up until right then. He giggles. Another awed sound, like he can’t quite believe what’s happening.

“Okay,” he breathes. You sink down too, curling up into him. His warmth feels burning hot now as he pulls you back into his arms, the same as he had a minute ago; this time, you swear your hearts are an inch closer.

“I gotta come up with a whole new plan now, don’t I?” Steve asks, eyes shining as he peers down at you.

You laugh a little bit, delirious, and shake your head. Gathering courage, even as your stomach twists up in the best way.

“Nope. You can… you can ask now, if you really want.”

You hope your voice betrays everything you mean; that he could ask anywhere and you would say still say yes. That it didn’t need to be somewhere fancy, didn’t need to be a big spectacle, he didn’t even need to get on one knee and you would still say yes.

Steve stares down at you, drinking in the sincerity of your expression and he softens impossibly more. Smile lines you adore get scrunched up as he gives a shuddering breathy laugh, punched out of him by his own enormous affection. Christ, he loves you.

His hand raises, cupping your jaw sweetly and he tugs you closer to meet him in the middle. You come home to him, lips meeting lips as he kisses you deeply and maddeningly. There are a thousand sentiments in his kiss, I want to marry you and I love you among them.

He pulls back and rests his forehead against your own. His hand on your jaw rubs soothing, fingers tucking some stray hair behind your ear.

“Got a plan.” He murmurs, a wickedly handsome smile on his face as he taps his temple.

You’ll have to wait, it seems. You think you can stretch your patience a little longer, especially for this. Your cheeks are beginning to ache from your smile.

Another quiet moment. Then, your eyes light up with the recollection of an earlier memory. They skirt across the room and land on their target, Steve’s crumpled pair of slacks on the ground. You recall his fumbling with his hand deep in his pocket.

Steve follows your eye-line and the moment he spots what you’re looking his head whips back.

Steve fixes you with a stern look, a warning that says don’t. You move an inch, more to tease than anything — you don’t want to see anything til he’s the one giving it to you — but you don’t get very far anyway.

“Oh no, you don’t—” Steve’s arms around your middle tighten, pulling you closer as you pretend to reach off into the distance.

He shifts you easily, setting you down into the pillows and then squishing himself atop you. You let out a strange noise, a surprised yelp as Steve lightly crushes you beneath him, a slightly maniacal grin on his pretty mouth. His hair is a mess, cheeks still glowing, and he looks utterly in love.

You wiggle a bit, seeing if you can free a limb. Maybe to pretend to escape, maybe to dig your fingers in and hold him closer. Either way, it’s fruitless.

Somehow, you’re not all the mad with the situation; squished lovingly beneath your hunk of a boyfriend so you don’t go scampering around searching for a- for your engagement ring.

“Can I at least get a kiss?” You ask, knowing he’ll say yes. If there’s one thing, it’s that Steve never denies you a kiss if you ask. His eyes look a tad misty as he looks down at you so so fondly, eyes drawing down to your lips.

He doesn’t disappoint.

WIP 07.22.2020

Guess what day it is, guess what day it is WIP WEDNESDAY!!! LOL.  Is anyone else wondering where the heck this week went?  Because I really am.  I’m still a little whipped from working 6 days last week,  but this is what I’ve got going on. 

I’m also planning on redoing my tag list on my fics next week, to see if people want to be on and off and shifted around, If anyone wants to be officially perma-tagged as when I started this blog I didn’t know what TF that meant.  LOL.  Also if you are interested in my Ellie Fic,  Chapter 1 is done, so if you would like a tag on that please let me know,  I posted a little more below as a teaser.  

I totally worked on these in the wrong order as inspiration struck me, so the fic I have finished, is the one I for real started last.  Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.  Because in my mind that made perfect sense.  Blame it on the alcohol yo.

"Well I know we were both against having a nanny, maybe that would help."

"It won't because, I don't want any more children. We will have two babies in diapers again. Two breastfeeding again. Do you know how tiring it is? Especially when none of them start out wanting to take a bottle? And don't look at me like that Liam, you have always been helpful there. Diaper changes, nightly cuddles and snuggles,  but sometimes babies just want Mommy. Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve had more than 2 consecutive nights of more than 4 hours of constant sleep? After I give birth, I am going to get a tubal ligation or you're gonna get snipped.  And I can already tell by the look on your face Liam, you don't want it to be you."

She wondered how Nic was going to take the news.  

She walked out of the palace down the walkway to the practice arena.   That is where the Junior Guards were practicing. Being a Junior Guard was a stepping stone to get into the King’s Guard Academy, which Nicolai was planning on doing to follow in his father’s footsteps.  

She always went on Tuesdays when Nico, her mother’s guard, was training them.  

“Your Highness,” he greeted her when she walked in.  

“I wanted to see our future guards in action, that will help defend The Crown someday.”  

“We live to serve The Crown!”  The group chanted, bowing to Crown Princess Ellie.  

She nodded in return.  

“As you were.”  He saw Ellie’s eyes find Nic’s from across the room.  A large smile quickly crossed his face.   He could tell by Ellie’s eyes, which were Riley’s beautiful eyes, she was smiling too, but her mannerisms were just like her father’s.  King Liam had taught her to hide her true feelings very well. But Ellie’s eyes were her mother’s, and they were a dead giveaway.  

Nico immediately saw how his son Nic’s demeanor had changed, and the bright pink flush that was on his face.

After watching them spar for about 30 minutes,  He decided to get them a break, which gave Nic a little time to talk to Ellie.  They quickly disappeared into a secluded alcove.  Nic couldn’t wait to kiss Ellie as soon as he knew it was safe. She ran her fingers through Nic’s hair as she kissed him.  Their kiss was so brief.  Nic leaned in again.

Ellie pecked his lips again softly.  “Save some for later,”  she smiled at him.  

“There’s something I need to tell you. I picked a University.”  

“That’s great Ellie.  Let me guess where.”  

Ellie noticed Nic’s smile start to fade after time after time she said no.

“Ellie where are you going to university?”

“To America,  Hartfeld University.”

The color drained from Nic’s face.  “Break’s over, I have to get back.”  

He didn’t even kiss Ellie goodbye, he just walked away.   He walked away quickly because he didn’t want Ellie to see him cry.

“Nicolai, wait!” Ellie called after him, but Nic walked even faster.  Ellie sighed walking back in the direction towards the palace.

He slipped his arms around Riley’s waist.  “Maybe I can sneak down the hall and spend the night with you instead.”

Ok, spoiler warning for ppl who haven’t played – do I still need to do this? Eh ok, (I tag FF7R spoilers as final fantasy 7 remake spoilers) and it’s gonna be reasonably long.

Also, this is one person’s interpretation of the scene, so if you disagree that’s cool and we’ll agree to disagree.

Recap time!

The sky has fallen and our brave failures have escaped by the skin of their teeth! Cloud watches over Tifa until she wakes up, then follows her until they locate Barret.

AH MY HEART! Cloud's so adorably concerned for Tifa. (also far too goddamn pretty! Someone shove mud in his face or something I can't stand it!)

Who knows how long he's been waiting for her to wake up. There's a couple of times it looks like he wants to reach for her – there's a definite twitch in her direction with his left hand – and then as she goes to get up, he takes her hand to her help her. Someone remind me, how often does Cloud offer Tifa his hand? A lot? Yeah, that's what I thought.

It's a very demoralised journey through the rubble to find Barret.

Well, I was aiming for a screen showing him punching the wall, but this is better. His rage and grief burst out. He's punching the wall with his actual hand and not shooting at it with the gun. This is because he wants to feel physical pain to dull the stronger emotional pain. Those were his friends. He should've stopped it. You can hear him sob Marlene's name once that rage is spent. He thinks they're all dead, including his innocent little girl. It's a powerful moment for his character.

Here's a hint of a grief stricken Cloud too. He cared about the trio. He wanted to save them. Nobody had to offer payment for his services. He tried to be the hero and failed. He doesn't know how to handle these emotions or how to comfort anyone either.

Tifa blaming herself is typical for her character. She puts a lot on her shoulders and keeps her feelings locked up tight. She sees the situation from the pov that if they hadn't blown up the reactors then Shinra wouldn't have dropped the plate. Barret sees it as, if Shinra weren't destroying the planet then they wouldn't need to blow up reactors. It's a pointless back and forth, round and round with no true winner. They have different povs, morals and principles and that's why Tifa just agrees with him in the end. Why argue on top of everything else that's just happened?

Tifa is very much the peacemaker, who doesn't want people to get into unnecessary fights. She'd rather back down than fight if there's a possibility of another choice. She says this in chapter 3 with her “I know we have to make a difference, but not like this.” And to the Shinra manager she says “I don't want anyone to die”

She's a goddamn sweetheart who can pack a punch, but doesn't need to rely on her fists first.

This is why later on with Elmyra, she stops Cloud from arguing to go get Aerith. It's not that she doesn't care. It's that she doesn't see the point in forcing your opinion on someone. By giving Elmyra time to think through their side of things she's letting the situation settle and everyone can approach it calmly and rationally. Which is exactly what happens. Elmyra had time to think and agreed with them. Because of Tifa. Because she’s the mature one.

The real!Cloud hand twitch lol we know what this means and I think I've already mentioned is plenty of times in other analyses.

Barret and Tifa's body language here is very placid, not romantic in any sense of the word. Her body is turned to the side and he has one arm around her shoulder. He's not got his head tilted down towards her and hers isn't tilted up at him either. Her arms are by her sides. This is minimum contact and barely qualifies as a hug. It's perfunctory comfort between friends. What it does is motivate Cloud – who harbours romantic feelings – towards the urge to comfort Tifa in the same way. He wants her to rely and find solace with him. Because his feelings are driven by romantic urges the way he comforts her is different.

And we're on our way to Aerith's house, where Cloud suspects Marlene is. Barret's highly emotional – shocker – and begs Cloud for hope, then admits it doesn't matter what he says he'd get mad. Cloud accepts this with a bland face, what else is there to say? He can't admit he might be wrong, but he can't say with all certainty that he's right.

He asks Tifa about the Ancients and then we get a visit from Sephiroth.

So after we see a future flashback of OG Sephiroth talking about the Ancients like before, Cloud gives us a blurry 1st person view and pan up of Sephiroth. Now, this one is a vision that only he sees, but that really doesn't matter to him. He sees that creepy ex-boyfriend stalker smile and freaks tf out. You can hear him whimper.

So, we don't get much of the scene from Tifa's pov. She's noticed Cloud freeze, probably heard that whimper. She's definitely concerned – you can see her frown just before we move back to Cloud – but she's unsure what to do about it. She's not a doctor after all. She has no idea if the right thing to do is insist on talking to Cloud about it, or pretend it didn't happen. She has to take his lead, which is to forget about it.

“Through suffering you will grow strong. Isn't that what you want?”

Cloud's a sweaty mess of fear at this minute, but you can still see this question on his face and his answer that no he doesn't want to suffer. The part of him that's real!Cloud definitely doesn't want to suffer, but it's too scared to do anything.

I find the possibility of this being a different aspect of Cloud's personality interesting. It's a vision, after all. So while we have real!Cloud in chapter 8 trying to encourage himself and repair the broken parts, we have this Sephiroth aspect that wants Cloud to remain broken and afraid. It's a good metaphor for how Cloud tackles his mental illness, and of the 4 different Sephiroths, the hallucination is the one that speaks the most and talks about Cloud as a person. It's the one that tells him to run away in chapter 2. It's the one that calls him a failure. It's the one that murders Tifa.

It's a manifestation of his mental illness. Not totally because there's more happening than just that, but of the 4 Sephiroths we see, this one is the one that causes Cloud to freeze the most. This one is the one he's terrified of more than the rest. The one that's not actually there.

I had to choose between this and Cloud looking terrified, but this one has Tifa edging into the frame with a concerned look on her face. Cloud's lost in his own head, probably overthinking everything Sephiroth just said to him. He dismisses Tifa again – remember, he doesn't want her to have a bad opinion of him, so he's pretending to be ok as usual. A lot of his reluctance to confide in her is his fear of her being disappointed in him. A lot of Tifa’s reluctance comes down to the aforementioned need to avoid confrontation. She doesn’t want to fight. If Cloud refuses to talk, she’ll respect that. She’s not pushy.

Conclusion.

Tifa and Barret have known each other for 5 years, give or take, but Barret doesn't even know the story of Nibelheim because Tifa keeps emotional things to herself. The way she's struggling to contain herself is mistaken by him as anger. It's not anger. It's self-blame. And because Cloud understands Tifa better than Barret – despite them having been apart for years – his real self has the urge to comfort her. He doesn't know how because he lacks social skills and emotional maturity, but after seeing Barret's example he understands this is the way he wants to support her.

I just added my suspicions about this version of Sephiroth to another post, so to sum that up, I think most of what he says is induced by Cloud's own feelings of failure and fear. The times Sephiroth shows up can be attributed to the connection Cloud has through Jenova, but the content of Sephiroth's speech comes across more like it's Cloud's inner self dragging him down. Sephiroth is the darkness within Cloud – the representation of his mental illness that won't ever become a memory, that's something he has to fight against every day. The fractured parts of Cloud's psyche aren't strong enough on their own, which is why the one in chapter 8 was chased away. It's only once they're reunited because of Tifa that Cloud becomes stronger overall to fight against his inner demons.

Tara is the Queen of Angst. She never fails to break my heart but this fic was something else entirely. I always feel like her stories could be canon and this is no exception!! Dean was exactly how I imagine he would be, Sam too. Without giving any spoilers: the scene setting - I was there, I could see them preparing dinner, sat around the table eating, I felt the coldness of the snow.

Hey so I wanted to do an angel fish award nom for Kate for her How You & I Will Be fic. In 5 parts she not only developed believable characters but by the end I was ugly crying (and I don’t cry a lot so that’s saying something). hey love! i could really use some of your advice...

my boyfriend is a photographer and he recently got followed on instagram by a girl in our city. and i just get really bad vibes from her. i’ve never met her but seeing her and what she posts, i definitely wouldn’t want him shooting with someone like her or even talking to her. so i gave him a little attitude telling him to unfollow her and to not shoot with her or talk to her. and he unfollowed her but a few days later she tagged him in some pictures and it really annoyed me. so i asked him to block her, and at first he was really hesitant which pissed me off even more. he was telling me it was only because he didn’t want to come off an unprofessional or get a bad reputation. but after a few days he could tell it was still bothering me so he finally blocked her. and it’s been a couple days since he blocked her, and i went on his tagged pictures tonight and noticed the pictures she tagged him in were back on his tagged posts... which means he unblocked her. i texted him as soon as i realized and said “why tf is that skank unblocked???” and he said “who” and i said “you know exactly who. don’t play dumb rn” and he hasn’t opened it so i think he fell asleep. but i’m soooo annoyed and bothered that he unblocked her. like he already knew that i was annoyed the first time when he wouldn’t block her, but to unblock her after all of that? i’m livid. i really don’t want us to start fighting or for her to cause more friction between us.. but like what do i do??? force him to block her again? let him do what we wants even tho i’ll be really uncomfortable? idk what do you think? obviously i’m gonna wait to see what he says in response to me when he wakes up (i can update you if you want) but it’ll probably be some lame excuse that won’t change anything. i’m so disappointed in him tbh.

I realized the more you try to control your boyfriend with the things he does, he talks to, who he follows, the more he will rebel. I learned that the hard way and It took me so long to understand your boyfriend is going to do what he wants to do. if he goes behind your back then that will tell you how much he respects you. I dont think its a bad thing that he follows her. you dont know this girl and for all you know she might have a boyfriend or something. I think the bigger problem now is that he went behind your back. maybe he doesn't have to block her but he doesnt have to follow her. talk to him and lmk what he says

1. What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you? I’ve had . . . A lot of weird shit happen to be honest. Depends on your definition of weird, and what you’re willing to believe. A few of the oddest are mentioned below.

2. Have you ever had any kind of supernatural experience? I have had several. Used to live (briefly) and spend a lot of time at a friend’s house that was haunted when I was very young. Our moms were best friends and there were four of us kids, all one to two years apart. All of us, plus several other visitors, all had encounters one way or another. The house came with rules, but otherwise whatever occupied that house was easy to coexist with. If anyone is interested I can get more in depth, but that’s a post unto itself.

More recently, several years back, my boyfriend Josh and I were donating things to a local thrift store. One of those items was a glass vase that we had set down on the pavement (donation center was outside) as we waited for an employee. The vase slid a foot by itself on an upward slant. Needless to say, we dropped our stuff off and beat a hasty retreat. It took me MONTHS to go back to that thrift store.

3. What kind of pets do you have/want? I have one black Betta fish named Gavin (named after my favorite asshole from DBH), had one gold mystery snail (RIP Roomba!), and of course my baby girl Caeli, aka the Monster. Caeli is a 14 year old ½ Arabian horse (almost a pony, she’s barely 14 hands tall). I always wanted a horse growing up, and I got Caeli when she was just seven months old. Taught her everything myself! She will be my first and last horse. Josh agreed to buy her for me as an early Valentine’s Day present. ❤️

4. Favorite place you’ve been, and why? Monterey Bay Aquarium. It’s my happy place and where I go when an emotional or spiritual recharge. I don’t even need to go with anyone! I’ll pick a day and then get up early and make the drive solo. There is nothing more magical than walking through the Open Sea exhibit while listening to Phildel. 5. What’s your current fandom, and what other notable ones have you been into? Currently into DBH hard. I also love Assassin’s Creed (I have a story planed for that. I have four chapters written and a 5,000 word story outline. It’s a daunting undertaking), and of course I love SPN! I read a lot of MCU and HP as well. Yu Yu Hakusho (way back, Kurama was my first Cosplay). Transformers (G1, the first Bayverse movie only (even then it’s love/hate), and the Bumlebee movie). My favorite OCs come from my TF/SPN crossover series Disregarded. My main character Jodi is also the first asexual I have ever written. 🥰 I’m also being dragged (willingly) into the Witcher fandom by all the amazing content people have been putting out! (Now I’m two episodes in and I love Geralt’s relationship with his horse, and Jaskier is just adorable)

6. Favorite fanfic trope (it’s a good question!)? OOOOOOooohh, I love so many? I’m a sucker for soulmates, time travel fix its, and found family in a wide variety of flavors. I’m weak for characters being fiercely protective of each other, and love nothing more than hurt/comfort as a result. Give me fluff, and angst with a happy ending! Also love a well written Sentinel/Guide AU (never seen the source material but I love when the mechanics are applied to fics, and there are some fantastic fics out there!)

7. What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you? Josh and I were at a red light, discussing an upcoming anime convention. We were excited and did this little synchronized dance with alternating fist pumps to the air. We look over and this stone faced biker on a Harley was staring at us. This guy was like a living stereotype. Skullcap. Sunglasses. Big beard. Biking leathers. Light turns green and he guns it, and then cuts in front of us. This dude lets go of his handlebars, does our fist pump dance and then roars away on his bike. We were dying in hysterics! We still love telling that story!

8. What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? Soursop smoothie. This was delightful if you’re a fruit lover (spoiler, I am!). I have also had Sweetbread, and I am not a fan (it’s not sweet and not bread).

9. Combine some animals into a new creature. What would it be? When I was in elementary school I was asked to create my own creature for a habitat. I was assigned desert. The resulting critter was this wolf/cheetah/hyena thing with webbed paws, long ass legs, Ginormous ears and a weaponized tail. I called it a Carthage and I still want one So BAD!

10. What’s your favorite thing to cook/bake? Cook- Taco Salad. It’s easy and my repertoire is tiny! Bake- pumpkin chocolate chunk cookies. It was a baking improvisation that turned out delicious! I’ll happily offer the recipe if anyone is interested! And Adult Butterbeer! (Aka a bottle of cream soda with 1 ½ shots of butterscotch schnapps!)

tl:dr you’re wonderful, i could never hate you or be dissapointed by you or ANYONE that doesn’t have the same faves, y’all are my friends imo I love you guys, and if anyone ever makes you feel bad for your faves, i’ll eat them. And if i ever do call me tf out @ everyone

Oh my god I feel so bad if I’ve EVER made you feel any sort of sad or bad or anything for loving who you love. I know I can get heated, and passionate and that most of my problems with characters in that show stem down to, they were used by the writers in an agenda at one point to shame/humiliate/take away, from a certain thing or character I loved. My problem with the show is mostly the showrunners themselves were anti clary, and liked a bunch of anti her posts ON THEIR FIRST DAY ANNOUNCED, so like I’ve been bitter at them for a long time.  

But I would never EVER want to make you feel like like this ever. Or anyone for that matter. I feel horrible and just know it’s never my intention. I know what that feels like and honestly? I try to be really careful, even when I don’t like characters, to either not mention them, or over anti tag things that might even be as simple as yeah didn’t like that scene, but I will use every variation of the anti tag I know  because I KNOW exactly how it feels for people to shit on your faves constantly in front of your face and not care. And like I don’t wanna hurt my friends? Or people on here in general who I’m like that one meme -sees a mutual I never talk to- das my friend lmksdjf, like again I’m very sorry. Because I think I know what posts you mean and if I forgot to tag those, because I have friends who adore simon and alec, I will literally kick the hell out of myself kjsdffkj

Oh oh fun fact though to be like positive! I adored simon in s1!! Like I remember actually crying over him and clary in episode 2 when it aired and being so worried for him like NO I CAN’T WAIT ANOTHER WEEK GIVE HIM BACK.

I also really adored s1 alec. I have a malec tattoo actually. Like those were my children and like ya girl sobbed a few times over him in like 3 episodes just saying jsdfjgf Like I got his reservations and everything and just. I also really adore some of 3x20 bar a certain scene, and I will never be able to hear bridges without crying so THANKS SHOW.

I think everything can be boiled down to I’m mad at the showrunners who listened to a select few loud fandom peeps and thought their treatment of clary, and using characters to push that anti agenda was okay. I also have been on this site in the fandom since before the show aired and seeing a subset of the fandom turn into calling for clary to get erased and sending vile shit for years. I’m just tired. I dunno if it was in the posts you saw or not, but I’ve always said that the showrunners and fandom ruined it for me. Characters I used to love that were used by both of them to push this agenda were just casualties.

And I would never hate anyone??? For loving them. I encourage it??? I think a part of me thinks if I constantly see them being loved on by my friends I’ll be able to forget the shit the fandom put me through and enjoy them.

But like I’m happy?? Genuinely?? for anyone who loves all the characters you mentioned. I try my hardest not to mention any I don’t have hella good feeling on but only because I don’t want to be bitter or hurt my friends feelings. And if I mention them at all I over tag the hell out of anti tags even when, like I said I might even defend them at one point. (when I called the ending ooc because not even alec would be okay with just leaving clary like that OR taking credit for the things she did) If I’m the least bit critical nope anti tag jsdkfjgf

But oh my god actually to answer what you said at first, yeah fandom is scary and I’m. I will literally fight anyone who comes for you for what you love??? Like we’re all different???? We all love different things and thats a good thing?? And I 1000% adore seeing people getting happy for things they loved and like my opinion don’t count for shit. I like what I like, you like what you like, and nobody better ever even breathe in your direction about it. Like. Let people enjoy what they love and leave them alone for it in 2020.  I’m sorry if people have ever done that to you D: you’re a literal sweetheart and don’t deserve any of it!

1) Why do y’all care so much about this bitch who plays multiple characters (when you niggas do the same. don’t front) 

2) Why not take advantage of this thing called a delete button? 

First thing’s first. We can’t talk about niggas being sensitive when y’all sensitive y’allselves. It’s just a different type of sensitive. Not the delete and post unfollow but the “I’ma rant in my mentions all day” sensitive. Hate to break it to you but that’s being sensitive. You are responding passionately to someone’s comment on you, your development or you’re expressing how you feel about something. Shit I'm being sensitive rn because I really could've kept my mouth shut but I have feelings about stuff. 

Dipping after causing a mess is being sensitive because well, like many pointed out, you caused it and knew what you were doing so don’t post your unfollow after causing a disturbance. Fuck it and move on, tf? You thought exposing IMs, calling someone ugly, saying you’re slap them all of that WOULDN’T cause a problem? People pick out these FCs and go into this with failing muse already after the first week and it doesn’t help when someone wants to randomly slap you or if you’re called ugly. Personally? I’d laugh and move on but some people are different and you can't be mad at that. Just like we learned and grew from our experiences, we need to let the new comers do that. If you got some dope plots, good development, and having fun then fuck the sensitive bitches you’re talking about and keep it pushing. 

Let me skip to number 2. This is all fake, which we can all agree. This community started as an escape for alot of people and still is. We’re grown now. You’d think with bills, rent, jobs and now new relationships we know how to handle things like adults. The only person controlling your good time is YOU. I’ve stopped giving a fuck what people say about my characters, to my characters on anon because this is all fake. I’m not really the person I’m playing and I have a slim understanding of the whole I  “I'm working hard to play this so the anons are annoying” shit but none of that will matter come the next rp. I said the only person controlling your good time is YOU. This is an anonymous platform all around. Its not just that anon button. On Tumblr you can have real blogs with your face but in an rp realm its your fave as your avi correct? In WC its your fave correct? Fake aliases and all sis. Good times but it wasn't hard to figure out photoshop. Anyways. Everyone has their assumptions and honestly who knows the truth? What are we looking at. Typing patterns? plot similarities? FC usages? I mean come on. This is the most vague evidence ever and I know niggas were full of shit when they were saying who this bitch was turns out it wasn’t even them. I knew niggas were full of shit when at point I heard my character was apparently this bitch and it’s just like...naw lmao. My limit might be TWO and honestly I only get the second if it’s a FC I really wanted and eventually the other one dies off but talking to myself? Smutting with myself? 3 WCs? It makes me chuckle at the thought of people thinking I even had the time. I don’t even want to talk to other people sometimes and you think I’m going back and forth between a computer/phone or whatever to do that? Nobody knows me but if y’all did it would be laughable too.  Worry about you. Your character and your shit is all that should matter so you can take pride in it when you’re done. Not the hours spent figuring out who is who. You could be thinking its the bitch and it’s actually one of your friends and Ive seen it happen. So what it’s the same plots? People develop differently. We still got CBs with anger problems, Dave Easts who move bricks, Rihannas who don’t drop music or act boujee as hell, Saweeties who act ghetto and so on. Y’all FCs act exactly how they usually do ooc and no one bats an eyelash until it’s someone they don’t know doing it. We all based our characters on real like shit they doing. It’s why we choose the characters because of their resources and development. Same with playing multiple characters. I’ve watched y’all sit and pick out MULTIPLE FCs for new rps but nooooooooooooooooooo let’s blow the sirens for this one girl who’s single handedly bringing down he community right? You’re blaming the downfall on ONE person at this point and it’s laughable because who’s at fault for this shit right now? And don’t say sensitive people because we just spoke about this lmao.

And honestly, if this bitch is that irritating. And you feel it in your core that it’s her. Just tell them straight up. I've done it. I get word that it’s most likely them, they do some funny shit and I dead it. Open our plot, cut off connections. Nope. It’s just not me and with the stories I can’t be bothered with he mess. It’s that easy. you literally have the power at your finger tips to better this community by deleting anons, blocking the bitches you can’t trust and just simply telling someone no. But you guys choose to entertain anons or the people in your IMs asking for smut then go to WC and complain. Your next IM shouldn't be sliding into the pussy or on the dick but should be “I'm good luv, enjoy” they’ll get the message. If not, use your words and say you don’t want to. I’ve done it and it was smooth sailing. But you keep replying and actually fuck???????? But still complain?????? 

In conclusion, I feel like we all play a part in how this community is right now. It’s not just one bitch, it’s not just a group of people. It’s not the sensitivity. It’s everyone. It was me at one point trail blazing through the tags. I owned up to it. But I really just chill and rock with something until it dies. There’s a person that hates this blog, I know they hate this blog because we butted heads and turns out they’re my favorite person I’ve ever got the chance to plot and connect with. And I wanted to tell them I was the blog but it just goes to show shit can run smoothly even when people have different opinions. I don’t agree with alot of shit but ranting, anons and all of that won’t do anything. It’ll just leave a bad taste in the tag.

I walk up to the front, all the weird cashiers are out today, yet again, although I've never seen that short chick in the big ass hoodie and braids before, I guess I'll go to her.

I put my shit down and dig some cash out of my wallet and hold it in front of her. "D-do you have an ID with you?" She bites her lip after asking, looking like she instantly regrets it.

What the fuck kinda question is that? Do I look like a child? "What?" I say, obviously annoyed.

"I have to ask everyone that question by law sir...I'm not trying to offend you, I—"

I roll my eyes at her explanation and cut her off, pulling out my ID "Here."

She looks at my ID, a little longer for my comfort and I then put it away. "Thank you." I hear her mumble, almost inaudibly.

I watch as she scans my items, then I divert my attention to my phone for a second. When I look up she's staring directly at me, what the fuck? She's probably just looking for attention, but I don't have time for any bitch tonight. "Are you gonna take my fuckin money or not? I don't have all damn day." I grumble.

I watch as she snaps out of whatever fucking daydream, fantasy shit she had going on "Huh?"

I roll my eyes once again and see her cheeks turn a bright red as she takes my money and slowly counts out my change.

I tap my foot impatiently and she hands me the change. Fucking finally. "H-here you go, have a nice night." She stutters to me.

I grab my shit and narrow my eyes at the girl. "Uh, yeah"

If this were any other night I'd probably try convincing her to letting me fuck her because she was pretty hot honestly, a guy can wonder what she's hiding underneath that fucking baggy sweatshirt.

I make my way out to my car and then home. I really need a smoke now, I think to myself and then look in the dash and my pockets, no cigs. Fuck, I ran out again and didn't fucking notice, I really don't want to go back to that damn store, but I suppose I'm gonna have to.

I let out a groan and turn the damn car around, heading back to that place, maybe I will talk to that chick, a good fuck would be good tonight honestly.

I park my car, once again in the vacant parking lot and go into the store, I notice the girl from before glancing my way, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion at my second appearance within 15 minutes.

I walk over to her, she looks terrified, "Um, h-how can I help you? Did I count your change wrong? I'm so sorry—"

She stutters her words while looking up at me, she's so fucking short. I roll my eyes at her "No angel, I forgot I needed some Marlboros, can you grab me a pack or two?" I smirk at her and watch as confusion takes over her face.

"My name is Harlow...not Angel, there isn't even an Angel that works here...?" She bites her lip and grabs two packs for me. I chuckle, "Yeah, I know, and I'm Calum, do you need to look at my fucking ID again?" I say while pulling out a few dollars.

"Um, no." She takes the cash and hands me my cigarettes. "Thanks love, you're very pretty by the way." I wink at her and she seems taken aback by the compliment, I see the heat rising in her cheeks.

"We should hang out some time, what works for you?" I smirk, knowing she's probably melting right now with all this attention I'm giving her.

"Uh, not to be rude or anything, but I just met you? Isn't this a little odd, um Calum?" She bites her lip, I'm now taken aback by her response.

Did she just basically reject my offer? She must have a boyfriend or some shit like that. "How is it fucking odd? Are you riding another dick or something? Because trust me babe, I'm not trying to get involved in any fucking bullshit drama with a damn boyfriend." I spit out my words, obviously irritated.

She takes a step back, my harsh words seem to have an effect on her. I take one last look at her and storm out of the store. How dare she try to embarrass me like that? What a fucking bitch.

I had a chance to fix the braid once the lady I was assisting finished checking out. After I fixed it Jessica, my coworker, asked me yet again why I keep my hair like this everyday.

"Well, my hair can get in the way, it is a bit long and can be a bit frizzy sometimes as well, so keeping it braided just solves my issues." I explain to her with a smile, it kind of gets on my nerves that she has the need to ask me this every week at some point, but I do not have the nerve to say anything to her about it, especially since she is just curious.

She nods with a smile. The rest of my day runs on, pretty slow and boring honestly and the next time I check my phone for the time I see it's already 9pm. There's also a text from Lynn.

... To: Harhigh not low dude I have some big shit to spill ...

Ugh, I'll have to tell her I can't talk quite yet, I think I forgot to tell her I'm working all day oops.

I look up when I hear a thud of cans. I see a guy wearing a leather jacket set his items down and pull some cash out of his wallet.

I look at his items...two packs of beer, a box of condoms, and a bag of chips. Oh.

He seems to have the most bored, disgruntle facial expression ever, I better not get on his nerves, but I think rather than keeping his mouth shut...like what I do with Jessica, he would most certainly call me out.

"What?" He spits out. He has some sort of accent, yes I'm a little terrified about this giant man I have never seen before, but I am supposed to ask everyone that question who buys stuff like beer and condoms...and I am curious.

"I have to ask everyone that question by law sir...I'm not trying to offend you, I—"

"Here." He cuts me off by showing me his ID. I examine the piece of plastic...Calum Hood...22 years old...Australian. Oh my god he's Australian! Just like Lynn!!

He quickly shoves it back in his wallet and gives me a glare. I take a deep breath and start to scan his items. As I scan the bag of chips I mumble a quiet "thank you" to him and he just stands there.

I glance and see he's now on his phone texting someone, a friend or something I assume. Maybe even a girlfriend? Boyfriend? I don't know. I would be surprised if he didn't have someone. This guy is beyond attractive. I wonder if he knows Lynn? Haha that would be hilarious.

"Are you gonna take my fuckin money? I don't have all damn day." He snaps at me.

"Huh?" Oh no, I have been staring this whole time. Oh no.

He rolls his eyes and I take the money from him cautiously. He thinks I'm a weirdo now. I count his change slowly, that way I don't mess up and give him the wrong amount.

He looks like the kind of guy that would storm back in here demanding for one cent more if I forget one penny. I cannot mess this up. His foot tapping causes me to hurry my counting and I give him the receipt and change as quickly as possible.

"H-here you go, have a nice night." I say, hoping to sound more confident.

"Uh, yeah" He looks at me oddly and then leaves the store. I let out a breath I wasn't aware I was holding in.

I pull my phone out of my pocket and see three more texts from Lynn.

... To: Harhigh not low heyyyyyyyyy harlowww bitch you better answer me. To: Harhigh not low HARLOW. To: Harhigh not low I know you're not ignoring me tf ...

I laugh quietly to myself and send her a quick text to stop her nagging.

... To: Lyin Lynn calm down. I'm at work, I don't get off for another half hour, just wait!! To: Harhigh not low Fucking finally you answer. But okayyy <3 ...

As I'm putting my phone away I hear the door open and look to see the the guy from before. Oh no, I bet I counted his change wrong and he's here to yell at me. I tried counting as fast as possible, but he insisted on rushing me.

He walks over to me, with the same grumpy look on his face and I start to worry. "Um, h-how can I help you? Did I count your change wrong? I'm so sorry—"

He rolls his eyes at me, "No angel, I forgot I needed some Marlboros, can you grab me a pack or two?" His face changes into some sort of a smirk, I don't know, and why did he call me Angel? My name tag says Harlow, and I don't thing anyone could mistake Harlow for Angel.

"My name is Harlow...not Angel, there isn't even an Angel that works here...?" I bite my lip nervously and grab two of the Marlboros off the stand behind me. He chuckles softly at my words. "Yeah, I know love, and I'm Calum. Do you need to look at my fucking ID again?" He asks while pulling out some money.

"Um, no." I take the cash from his hand and give him the cigarettes.

"Thanks love, you're very pretty by the way." He winks at me and now I'm completely confused. What?

"We should hang out some time, what works for you?" He smirks at me, for the second time tonight and I'm completely uncomfortable. I don't even know this guy, and judging from all the stuff he's bought tonight I think I would rather keep my distance. I'm also kind of embarrassed that he would go ahead and assume I was going to say yes. That's a bit rude.

"Uh, not to be rude or anything, but I just met you? Isn't this a little odd, um Calum?" I bite my lip, using his name, I really don't want to upset this guy.

I watch at his playful smirk turns into a scowl. "How is it fucking odd? Are you riding another dick or something? Because trust me babe, I'm not trying to get involved in any fucking bullshit drama with a damn boyfriend."

What? Boyfriend? Babe? I don't understand this leather clad man standing before me. How could anyone say anything so rude to another person, I just met him. He does not really have a right to act so offended, and definitely does not need to use that sort of language, especially if he's interested in hanging out or something. I don't know, this is very odd.

I take a step back, as if to try and block the harsh words that ran out of his mouth. He glares at me one last time before rushing out of the store. What a strange man.

Did my what’s coming up on TV quarterly-ish organizational project and re-did my shows I watch page. Figured it would be a good time to make an update post on my media consumption of late.

I’m still embroiled in the Big Brother season. It’s been a pretty terrible season truth be told, and I’d have noped out except for there being one houseguest left in there that I adore and want to support, and of course the fan community I have (a chat room I’ve been in for a decade now and also a twitter list of fans, update sites, and BB alum I enjoy interacting with). We’ve still got a ways to go, and I am not watching the live feeds much this season, but still watching the shows (mostly to chat with my friends about) and keeping up with the feeds via twitter to see what’s happening and watching the few small clips of that one hg i still enjoy. 

It’s an interesting thing when being part of a fandom starts to feel like a chore. Like, yes, you do this for entertainment purposes and could stop at any point when it stops being fun for you - but you do also create a community around you and half the fun is that community interaction and it’s harder to let go of that. Because you can’t generally pack that whole community up and take them to another show or experience with you. 

Another fan experience that was a let-down this summer was Veronica Mars. I won’t post any spoilers in case there is anyone out there yet who wants to watch S4 unspoiled and has yet to find out what happened, but suffice to say I am not pleased. 

I did enjoy most of the series right up until the ending. I know a lot of people are upset about other things that happened, but I can defend or at least explain most of that based on what the show and the characters have always been. But that ending. Wow. I am still recovering. And not at all interested in a season 5 or really anything else that Rob Thomas might want to work on in the future. He’s really ruined any fan goodwill he had in my eyes. 

Other TV shows I’ve been enjoying this summer: 

The 100 delivered another fascinating season. I know the show is problematic in a number of ways, but it still has such wonderful characters with incredible arcs of growth and struggle and learning to overcome together. The plots get wilder and wilder, but whatever, I’m along for the ride. 

Agents of Shield was ... interesting. I don’t even know what to say about it anymore, tbh.

American Princess on Lifetime was a surprisingly fun new show - a NY socialite runs off on her wedding day and ends up at a Ren Faire, where she meets new friends and decides to stay and create a new life for herself. It’s charming, sweet, romantic, funny, and fun for any found family fans. 

BH90210′s pilot episode cracked me tf up. I kind of can’t believe the cast is going along with this satirical version of playing themselves trying to get a reboot of the original show going. It’s soapy and campy and so delightfully weird, while also being nostalgic. Can’t wait to see what they do with it. (Also I miss Luke Perry enormously)

Elementary has one episode left and I will be very sad when the story is complete, but happy for everyone involved for having been part of such a unique spin on Sherlock Holmes in such a successful way.

Euphoria season one was an intense emotional process, watching teens and their families struggle with addiction, violence, abusive relationships, sexual discoveries, gender navigation, mental illness, and so much more. Also just a visually stunning show. 

Grand Hotel is a fun soapy new show that I am enjoying very much. Classic soap tropes, a largely Latinx cast, a lesbian main character, and lots of eye candy.

Jane the Virgin put out a wonderful final season and series finale. I laughed. I cried. I was very satisfied. 

Killjoys has started up it’s final season. I’m loving it, but I also wanna cling to it and scream “no! don’t go!” 

Pandora is a new show on the CW, which is interesting. Futuristic space academy featuring a clone, a mind reader, an augmented human, an alien from a planet we were recently at war with, and Pandora herself who has some kinda mystery surrounding her and the recent death of her parents. Lots of political intrigue and conspiracy, with episodic plots that the young adults uncover together each week, and just about every sci-fi trope you could think of being covered. 

Trinkets on Netflix was a cute lil show about teenage girls in a shoplifting support group. It was a really genuine look at the highs and lows of female friendship at that age. 

In other TV watching news, I finally got all of the Northern Exposure DVDs and am doing a long-awaited re-watch of my all-time favorite show. I’m on the second season. 

In addition to completing that DVD collection, I also completed collecting all of the Realm of the Eldering books (yay birthday money!) and am doing my re-read of those. It’s going to take me a long time, because my re-reading gets done while attempting to fall asleep and also when I wake up trying to get back to sleep, so depending on how the insomnia is going, it could be anywhere from a couple of paragraphs to maybe 50 pages tops per night and RotE is a looooot of books. I’m still on the first novel now. 

That also means, I am taking a little break from my otherwise-continual Raven Cycle re-reading lol. 

Other stuff I’ve been reading - started the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire, finished Tamora Pierce’s Emelan series (although I think she’s writing one more of those yet), and got caught up on Patricia Brigg’s Mercyverse series. Then, since I’m caught up on all the series I’m reading (other than Wayward Children since I just started it), I went and put a crapton of new books on my library hold list - some of which are the first books in series themselves. So here we go! 

And of course, I’ve been playing lots of Sims. Love love loving the Island Living expansion pack. The mermaids are so much fun, as is swimming and boating in the ocean, other beach activities, and just living in a more communal setting (people show up to help put out fires, bring food over randomly, fix things that are broken, etc.). I definitely won’t tire of the stuff in this pack before the next new pack comes out, which I imagine will be sometime late this fall or early winter, if they go according to the usual schedule. 

Guess that’s all for now. Might do some more specific VMars meta at some point, once I get my thoughts and feelings more collected. IDK. This post is so all over the place I’m not sure if I’m gonna tag it with any specific fandom or media.
