top 5 shows
top 5 manga
top 5 video essays
top 5 drinks (alcoholic or otherwise)
top 5 places youve visited
top 5 days of your life
(^thats a lot... oops. feel free to choose whichever are interesting;; i wanna know the reasoning behind your choices if theres any though)
Oooh FUN omg
Okay so I don’t really watch video essays (that I can think of) but I’ll try to answer the others! This could get lengthy so answers are below the cut!
Top Five Shows
Friends - This is my comfort show. I’ve had it on at night while I sleep every night for over a decade. My sister and I quote it constantly and it just never gets old for me. (It’s literally in as I’m typing this 😂)
Supernatural - I genuinely loved almost this entire show! Except for the shitty ending they gave it. It’s funny and dark and all of that fun stuff.
Criminal Minds - I binged this entire show in like a month and a half. That’s fifteen fucking seasons my dude. Anyways I love Spencer a lot 🥰
Rizzoli and Isles - Listen I love a good case of the week show. And one with two female leads that are complex and well developed? Even better!
Hawaii Five-O - Same as the above but with male leads! I love the relationship between Danny and Steve so much.
Honorable mentions to Teen Wolf, The Office, and How I Met Your Mother!
Top 5 Mangas
Okay so I honestly haven’t read a lot of manga. I think I read some of Peach Fuzz when I was younger. And I know I borrowed a series from a friend in high school about a kid with black wings, but that’s pretty much it 😬👍
Top 5 Drinks
I love a little drink omg
Any lemonade, but especially blackberry lemonade
Sprite (alone, mixed with lemonade, or malibu)
Egg Nog (has to be dairy free now but I still love it)
Hard Cider (plain or flavored)
Root Beer
Top 5 Places I’ve Visited
I admittedly haven’t been many places, but here we go!
Mount Vernon, Virginia - Not because of the house or that it was owned by George Washington, but because of the LAND. It is so green and right on the water and was just so beautiful. I went there 14 years ago and I still think about it.
Museum of Natural History - I wish there was a museum of that caliber near me omg 😭
Monterey Bay Aquarium - Huge, stunning aquarium with beautiful fish and a fun gift shop? Sign me up!
The local apple farms that my friends and I visit every fall - fall vibes with apple treats and hard cider like how can you say no
This route that my friends and I take when we are driving at night listening to music - it’s back roads in the country and the night sky is so beautiful
Top 5 Days Of My Life
A lot of what comes to mind are concert related 😅
Seeing Kingdom in concert and meeting them - It was my first kpop concert and I couldn’t have picked a more perfect one. I’d never been around that many kpop fans (I only have one irl kpop friend) and everyone was so wonderful and kind and welcoming. The members of Kingdom were all super sweet and I still can’t believe I’ve met them.
Seeing Marianas Trench in concert the first time - Absolutely jaw dropping. They sound just as good live and the artistry is insane.
Seeing Queen in concert with Adam Lambert - Absolutely legendary. Like idk what else to even say.
Scoring my first goal in soccer as a child - I just remember running to my dad and hugging him. We actually have a picture of that moment. (Also scoring a goal after using a move on someone that I spent weeks practicing)
When I adopted my dog Rizzo - Instead of a car for my 16th birthday I wanted a puppy. I couldn’t believe when my parents actually let me get one. Today marks one month of her being gone and I miss her every day.

Paring: Five Hargreeves X Wife!Reader
Summary: Five storms out to time travel after an argument with his wife and comes back to an unexpected surprise.
A/N: Five time travels at the age of 26 instead of 13
He was angry, that wasn’t mistaken, “ You aren’t listening to me! “
“ Are you hearing yourself?! What you’re about to do is dangerous! “ She yelled in response, and he scoffed.
They stood in the main room of their apartment. Y/n was placed in the kitchen leaning on the island while Five was dangerously close to the door. Both of them at the age of twenty-five. They had gotten married only a year before finding each other during one of his trips to Griddy’s with his siblings. He thought she was the prettiest thing he had ever seen.
Five stalked closer to her, “ You are so stubborn. “
“ I am the strongest one. “ His voice was dangerously low as they stood only a foot apart, “ I will do this. I don’t care what you say. Nothing will change that. “
“ Five, please. “ Y/n begged, “ I’m- I’m just worried about you. “
“ You don’t need to be. “ Five snapped, and he fast-walked to the door.
The male swung open the door, “ Five wait, please- “ But before she could finish, the door slammed, “ I’m pregnant. “
It was new news. She didn’t find out until a week earlier. She didn’t know when to tell him; there never was a suitable time. Now he had just threatened to fulfill a lifetime goal of his– time travel. Since he was a boy, he’s wanted to prove his worth. The only way Five could think to do that is by time-traveling into the future. He didn’t know what the future would entail. He definitely didn’t plan to get stuck in an apocalypse.
So for nine torturous months, Y/n endured a pregnancy. She was carrying a child of her presumed to be dead husband, which she didn’t believe in the slightest. Five Hargreeves was alive, and she knew that regardless of what anyone told her. She had a baby boy who she named Malachi. The same bright, alluring green as his fathers.
Despite his birth father not being around, Diego was a significant help. Diego stepped in where Five couldn’t. He was there for all of Malachi’s firsts and everything in between. But he was always Uncle Diego. A constant reminder that this man wasn’t his father. As far as the little boy knew, he didn’t have a father.
Things got more tricky as he got older. Malachi realized that a father figure was more common than not, which brought raising questions. She answered to the best of her abilities, but nothing was ever valid. None of her answers could be a hundred percent true because she didn’t know either. It was killing her to see her son this way.
He longed for a father. Wanted nothing more for a father-son relationship. Every birthday, every Christmas, he wished for his father to come home. It was killing Y/n because she understood his pain. The amount of dread, guilt, and sadness.
Maybe if she had told Five sooner, he would’ve never left. The guilt ate away at her. It was like an insect slowly crawling its way under her skin into her bones and nibbling them until they were gone. It didn’t help Malachi was an exact replica of his father. The dark, almost raven hair parted to the side, the glittering green eyes and a defined face.
No matter how long Five was gone, Y/n never took off her rings. She was a married woman until proven otherwise. Malachi had never even seen photos of his father. That was normal to him. All he knew was that his Uncles and Aunts told him he looked the exact same. Despite the same appearances, they had clashing personalities.
Malachi was the sweetest guy you could ever meet. Kind no matter who the person was. Wise beyond his years and intelligent like no other. His strong suit was English while he struggled in math. The irony was amusing. His father excelled in math, but he couldn’t do a two-step equation if he tried.
In the grand scheme of things, this didn’t matter. He got all the way up to high school. He was seventeen, to be exact, in his junior year of school. It was the summer before his senior year, and he couldn’t be more excited. As the years went on, the hope of meeting his father diminished to the point where he didn’t even think about it anymore.
He had his mom, and that’s all that mattered. His mom was his rock, his number one supporter, and his best friend. Malachi loved his mom more than anything and would give anything to keep her safe. Diego had grown to be like a father to him, but it was never the same. Malachi was sitting at the island doing homework while Y/n was cooking.
“ Hey, mom? “ He called, “ Yeah? “ Y/n turned to look at her son.
Malachi fidgeted with the pencil in his hand, “ Can I- Can I see your rings? “
“ My rings? Why? “ She asked, “ Well, dad gave them to you, didn’t he? “ Malachi replied.
Y/n nodded, “ Of course he did. We were married, technically we still are married. “
“ I just wanted to see what dad gave you. “ He murmured.
Hesitantly Y/n twisted both her engagement ring and her wedding ring off her left ring finger. She set them down on the granite island before her son so he could look at them. Gently he picked the engagement ring up and looked at it. It was the only time he’s ever seen the ring this close. She never took them off.
“ We got engaged in the snow. “ Y/n informed quietly, “ I really wasn’t expecting it. He never seemed like one to settle down. “
Malachi listened intently, “ Regardless. It was almost Christmas, and he took me to go Christmas shopping at one of the malls which was outside. “ She chuckled, “ Why he did that, I don’t know, but it was amusing. We got hot chocolate despite his love for coffee, and I made him wear a Santa hat. “
“ He was never into festivities before meeting me. Neither were your Aunts and Uncles. I started making holidays become more festive when you were born. Eventually, they got the hang of it. “ Y/n continued, “ Why was dad's name a number? “ He interjected.
“ He never got a name like the rest of his siblings. “ She answered plainly, “ Why? “
Y/n sighed, “ His father, more specifically your grandfather was a cruel man. Still is a very cruel man, which is why you’ve never met him. Reginald made the Umbrella Academy, where he adopted your dad along with his other siblings. “ She explained, “ They endured long days of training without breaks and horrid living environments. They were treated as experiments rather than children. “
“ They all got names, but Five didn’t want one. He rejected it because it didn’t matter. Name or anything. Their numbers would always define them, and Five was the only one who understood that. “ She finished.
“ What really happened to him? I know you’ve given me vague explanations, but I think I’m ready for the real thing. “ Malachi stated, “ I’m seventeen now. “
“ I know. Your father had powers. His others siblings do as well. They all do certain things. Five could travel through space and time. “ Y/n began, “ Growing up, he always felt the need to prove himself, to be better than everyone else. “
“ So, one day, he told me he was going to time travel. It was a big argument that definitely didn’t need to happen. At the time, I was a week pregnant with you, and I didn’t know how to tell him. “ She swallowed the emotions arising after remembering Five’s glare,
“ When I told him, it was too late. He was already out the door and gone. “
Y/n walked forward and took the rings back. She placed them back on her ring finger carefully as her son watched every movement. He knew she was upset. Malachi couldn’t help but be a bit resentful towards his father. All this to make a point? It seemed far-fetched.
“ That solution seems a bit absurd. “ Malachi commented, “ That's what I was trying to tell him, but he was very prideful and stubborn. “ Y/n replied.
A knock echoed through the apartment. The room felt tense. It wasn’t right; something felt off. Malachi felt it immediately cause he stood up and began walking to the door, wanting to protect his mother if a threat was there. Secretly Diego may have given him some defense classes, but that didn’t matter.
The boy opened the door to see almost the exact same face staring back at him, “ Who are you? “ Malachi snapped.
“ More importantly, who are you? “ The man retorted.
Every hair on Y/n’s body stood up. She knew that voice, and she knew that tone. It was him. He was back. It took everything inside her not to scream or cry but seeing Malachi hold his defensive stance against his own father was worrying her.
“ Malachi. “ She called, and he turned to her as she began to walk to the door, “ I need you to go to your room and promise not to eavesdrop. “
He wanted to protest, “ Please, sweet. I’ll be okay. I promise. “
Reluctantly Malachi backed away from the door giving the man a harsh glare that made the man evidently tense. Y/n waited for Malachi to be fully retreated in his bedroom before looking at the man in front of her.
“ Well. It looks like you’ve moved on. “ Five murmured, “ No- please. It isn’t what it looked like. “ She pleaded.
Her hand took his, and he recognized the rings on her finger. The same rings Malachi had just been examining. The same rings he took months to search for to find the perfect fit for his perfect girl. Everything seemed so colorful in his greyscale world now. His wife was still his.
“ Who- Who is he? “ His voice trembled as his lingering suspicion felt more accurate than ever, “ Come in and sit. We need to talk. “ Her voice was gentle and held no malice.
Five entered the now unrecognizable apartment. It wasn’t the same as when he left. In fact, everything seemed moved out of place. Y/n walked to the stove and turned off the burner that she was using. Five had peered at the papers on the island that were math worksheets and took a seat beside them.
“ Where did you go? “ She asked, “ The future. “
“ No shit. What did it look like? “ Y/n retorted playfully, “ It’s not as I hoped. It’s an apocalypse, love. “ His voice held so much pent emotion it was almost radiating off him.
She sighed, “ Okay. We need to talk about that- “
“ I- I want to know who that kid is. “ Five interrupted, and she gave him a knowing look, “ Malachi, can you come out here. “ Y/n called, and instantly he was out of his room.
The boy stood beside his mom, still not comfortable with the unfamiliar man. This time Five got a chance to really look at the teenage boy in front of him. The defined face, the almost raven hair, the same sage green eyes. His posture was protective and territorial, obviously for his mom.
“ Y/n… “ Five began as he swallowed the tears in his throat, “ Is- Is he mine? “
She nodded, “ Five Hargreeves, I’d like you to meet your son, Malachi Hargreeves. Malachi, I’d like you to meet your father, Five. “

Natasha stared up at the tall building with two bags of food in hand. She was about to surprise you with some lunch, considering you haven’t been able to take a single break the entire week.
Seriously, even when you were at home, you’d be working on paperwork or taking call after call from your company partners. You’d then go back to work the next morning and completely neglect your own needs, the only thing you’d focus on was anything work-related.
You were the CEO of a major telecommunications company and things have been super hectic around your office. You barely had time to breathe with everything that had been going on, so, Natasha thought that it would be a good idea to give you a nice surprise.
She made her way into the building and got into one of the fancy elevators, quickly tapping the button to the top floor and stood in silence, lively elevator music filling the small space.
When the doors opened, she walked out and was greeted by your secretary; Megan.
“Hi, Ms. Romanoff. Ms. L/N is just in her office working on some paperwork. She has a meeting in 20 minutes, though.”
Megan sent Natasha a friendly smile. The redhead simply nodded and mumbled out a small ‘thank you’ before opening the door to your office.
She was met with the sight of you hunched over your desk. The light poured into the tall windows in the room, providing sufficient lighting.
You glanced up from your papers at the sound of the door closing softly. Natasha smiled at you and held up the bags of food. Your lips turned upward at the sight of your girlfriend of five years.
“Honey, what are you doing here?” You asked as you got up from your desk, quickly making your way over to greet the Russian. You pulled her in by the waist and into a tight hug.
“I thought you could use some lunch. You haven’t been taking care of yourself and I’m here to change that.” Natasha mumbled into your neck as her arms rested on your shoulder, gripping onto the food she still had in her hands.
“Baby, you didn’t need to come all the way here. I’m fine, just been super busy lately is all.” You pulled back slightly and stared into green eyes.
“Yes, I needed to. I can’t just standby while you’re practically drowning in stress.”
Natasha got out of your embrace and made her way over to your desk, placing the food down and turning around, leaning onto the table with two hands gripping the furniture behind her.
“I’ll manage, it’s kind of my job.” You let out a small giggle, rounding the desk and sitting on your chair. Natasha turned in her spot as you patted your lap.
“Come on, let’s eat the food you brought. I have a meeting soon so we gotta be quick.”
Natasha walked toward you and sat in your lap, your arms circling around her waist. She opened the food and laid out the plates of Thai food.
Natasha fed you and herself. You both sat in silence, simply enjoying each other’s company.
Occasionally, Nat would mimic an airplane or train noise as she moved the spoon closer to you, laughing as she abruptly shoved the utensil into your mouth.
After fifteen minutes had passed, you looked at your watch and sighed. You had another meeting that would probably be ridiculously long for no reason.
“I’m sorry sweetheart, I have to get going. I have a meeting in five.”
You moved to get up, but Natasha refused to move off of your lap. You raised an eyebrow at her, the redhead giving you a stern look.
“Take the day off.” You shook your head in protest. You couldn’t take a day off, not now at least.
“Honey, you know I would if I could, bu-“ Natasha immediately cut you off, pressing her lips against yours before pulling back quickly.
“You can though. You’ve been working more than necessary! Please, it’s not even a full day off, it’s half a day.”
Natasha gave you the best puppy dog eyes and pout that she could, knowing how it affected you. Of course, she ended up winning.
“Fine, fine.” You muttered out, leaning forward and pressing a button on your desk-side phone, paging Megan, who sat just outside your office.
“Yes, Ms. L/N?” Your assistant’s spritely voice rang through the phone.
“Megan, could you please clear the rest of my day? I’m taking the day off.” You heard some shuffling on the other end of the phone before the woman replied.
“Okay, your schedule has been cleared and your meetings have been rescheduled to tomorrow.”
Natasha, who could faintly hear the other end of the conversation, smiled triumphantly and placed a soft kiss on the side of your neck.
“Thank you.” And with that, you hung up and returned your attention to the beaming redhead in your lap.
“You never play fair.” You mumbled against her cheek as you placed a gentle kiss against her skin.
“All is fair in love and war, moya lyubov (my love).” You rolled your eyes at the Russian while holding back a smile.
She got out of your hold and stood up, grabbing both of your hands and forcefully pulling you to your feet.
“Let’s go! I know a few things we could do today.” Natasha spoke seductively and sent you a little wink before grabbing the trash on your desk and throwing it away in the small trash can you had under the table.
You watched with a wide smile as she waltzed toward the door, making sure to sway her hips a little more, exaggerating the movement. There was an extra spring in her step that caused her red locks to bounce with each movement.
She turned her head around when her hand was on the doorknob, smirking at you.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Are you coming or not?”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“I have a feeling I will be soon.”

4 hours later
You laid in bed with Natasha by your side, her head resting on your shoulder with an arm around your torso.
After hours of love-making, you guys had finally gotten to relax. You both just stayed there in each other’s arms, appreciating the moment.
“Honey?” Natasha spoke, breaking the silence.
You tilted your head to look down at her, the redhead already staring up at you as you hummed.
“Have you ever thought about what you want your future to look like?”
This wasn’t the first time you guys have discussed the future. You’d both mention small tidbits of your aspirations and goals, but never went too far into the details of it all.
“Well, first starters, you’re definitely there.” Natasha smiled up at you with bright eyes. It absolutely warmed your heart to see her so full of joy.
“Really?” You nodded your head and kissed her forehead, the redhead briefly shutting her eyes as your soft lips met her skin.
“Really.” You pulled back, brushing your nose against hers. The redhead placed a hand on your cheek, as connected your foreheads.
“Well, I see you in mine too. Maybe we would end up leaving this penthouse and buy an actual home together.”
You nodded with a wide smile. The thought of buying a property with the woman you adored had you giddy.
“Yeah, definitely. Then maybe we could have little rascals of our own running around. We could find a surrogate or maybe even adopt if you’d want to.”
Natasha felt like she was going to melt into a puddle of love. The thought of having children to raise with you filled her with more joy than ever.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“I’d love that.”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
The moment was cut off when a loud yawn tore through your body, promoting a little giggle from your girlfriend.
She cuddled closer to you, her arm tightening around your body with a smile on her face.
“Let’s get some rest.” Natasha’s words were slightly slurred, the exhaustion of your previous activities hitting her.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah, so we can have energy for a round two.”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah right, more like round ten.”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Go big or go home!”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Go to sleep, idiot.”
•❅──────────────── ‎⧗ ────────────────❅•
5 days later
It was a Saturday night and Natasha had practically forced you to not go into work.
Usually, you would go into the office on Saturdays, despite having the day off, to get some extra work out of the way, but your girlfriend was extremely persistent.
So now, here you two were, getting ready to go out for a date night. You had to admit that this was a good idea.
You couldn’t remember the last time you and Nat had gone out on a date; it was a rarity with how busy you both would be majority of the time.
You walked out of the bathroom after brushing out your hair, your heart racing at the sight of your girlfriend clad in a simple black body-con dress that hugged her curves in all the right places paired with a cute, black blazer.
She straightened her hair and did her makeup just the way you liked it.
You stalked over to the woman who stood in front of the full-body length mirror, wrapping your arms around her waist from behind and placing a soft kiss onto her cheek.
“You look gorgeous, baby. I’m so lucky.” Your eyes raked over her figure through the reflection of the mirror before meeting her green ones.
“Thank you, but I’m the lucky one. I swear, if we didn’t have reservations, I’d rip your clothes off and take you right here.”
Natasha’s voice came out husky when you kissed the side of her neck. You sucked on her skin lightly and went to leave a mark, but the Russian turned around in your embrace.
“No marks, not until after dinner at least.” You let out a small whine, pulling her front against yours tightly.
“Oh come on! It’s not like we haven’t ditched our reservations for dinner before. I miss you.”
You tried to go for her neck again, but she flicked your forehead. You stared at her with a look that screamed ‘what the fuck was that for?’
“Don’t give me that look. I’ve been looking forward to having a date night for months. We aren’t missing this. Let’s go.”
•❅──────────────── ‎⧗ ────────────────❅•
Two hours later
Natasha had taken you to one of the best restaurants in New York. You weren’t one for fancy places, you were more of a ‘let’s order takeout and watch tv’ kind of gal, but Natasha absolutely loved luxurious dining experiences.
When you both arrived, the waited immediately escorted you both to the most private table in the house.
The table was set with candles and rose petals were spread across the tablecloth. You were blown away, seeing as the table overlooked the city.
Natasha pulled your seat back for you, placing a soft kiss on her cheek as you sat down. You watched as she rounded the table and sat in the chair across from you.
Her skin was golden as the candlelight brightened up her face, accentuating her green eyes beautifully. She had a cheeky smile on her face and wiggled her eyebrows at you before looking at the menu.
Of course, the redhead ordered the best wine the restaurant had to offer, immediately asking for a bottle of the alcohol.
You two talked about anything and everything over the course of the dinner. You had to admit, this was probably one of the best dates you guys had ever been on, besides your first one, at least.
As you both finished off your meals and were given the check, you noticed that Natasha couldn’t seem to sit still.
She was tapping her fingers against the table anxiously as she gnawed on her bottom lip. You placed your hand on top of hers, stopping the insistent movement.
“Is everything okay, baby?” You asked in concern. It was really unlike Natasha to be nervous, especially during date night.
She was usually relaxed and content whenever you both had time to spend out together.
The redhead sent you a reassuring smile and flipped her hand over, intertwining your fingers before bringing your conjoined hands up to her lips, kissing the back of your hand.
“Never better, hon. Come on, there’s somewhere I want to take you.”
Natasha placed her credit card into the bill holder and waved down a waiter and shortly after, you both walked out into the cool New York air, hand-in-hand.
•❅──────────────── ‎⧗ ────────────────❅•
Your eyes lit up when you noticed where your next destination was; Central Park.
You had always loved the park. There was something so beautiful about the scenery and the usual liveliness of the area that brought you so much peace and comfort.
Natasha led you towards a pond that was located in the heart of the park and you immediately recognized which one it was.
The redhead stopped in her tracks on top of the tiny bridge that hovered over the pond.
“Do you remember this spot?” She asked you as she turned around to face you, hand still linked with yours.
“How could I forget? You took me here on our very first date to feed the ducks, which completely backfired.” You let out a laugh at the memory, Natasha’s cheeks turning red.
“I wouldn’t say it backfired…” The redhead mumbled shyly which only made you laugh harder.
“Honey, you ended up getting attacked by pigeons because you were holding the bread. You walked me home covered in bird shit and your clothes were absolutely torn apart.”
You were practically crying from your laughter and you felt Natasha’s hand heating up in yours.
“It wasn’t funny! I really liked that outfit.” Natasha pouted as your laughter died down.
You placed a kiss onto her pouty lips, her frown quickly replaced with a bright smile.
“Anyway, I took you here because this is where our first date was which obviously resulted in us dating.”
You nodded your head at her words, deciding to remain silent when you noticed she had more to add.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“And, well… this is where I want our last date, as girlfriends, to be.”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
You felt your heart sink at her words. Was she breaking up with you right now? It didn’t make any sense! She didn’t ever show any indication that she was unhappy or wanted to leave you.
However, before you could completely break down, Natasha let out a shaky breath, and it was then that you noticed how shaky her hands were.
“Y/N, All my life, I never thought that I’d find love. After all of the things that the Red Room had taught me and forced me to do, I never believed that love was in the cards for me, but then I met you, and everything changed.”
You stared at Natasha curiously. This definitely didn’t sound like a breakup. So what was she going on about?
“I never ever thought that one day, I’d find someone that I’d want to spend the rest of my life with. I never thought that I’d ever want to buy a house and build a family with another person, but god, I’m so fucking happy that I was wrong.”
Your eyes watered when the gravity of the situation finally sunk in. Your thoughts were confirmed as Natasha let go of your hand and slowly bent down on one knee in front of you, reaching her hand into her blazer pocket, revealing the small velvet red box that had been tucked away in the material.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Baby, these last five years have been the best years I’ve ever had, and it was all because of you.”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Your hands flew up to your mouth as a gasp escaped your lips. There were tears in your eyes as she revealed a gorgeous engagement ring to you.
“Y/N, I want you, every day, for the rest of my life. Will you make me the happiest woman in the world and marry me?”
Natasha’s voice was unstable as she tried to hold back her emotions, but that went out the window when you frantically nodded your head in agreement.
“Yes!” You whispered out in shock. Natasha looked up at you with a wide smile.
“Yeah?” The redhead asked for confirmation and you let out a small chuckle.
“Yes, of course, I’ll marry you! Is that even a question?” Natasha grabbed your left hand shakily and slid the ring onto your finger.
You were both crying at this point. You didn’t care that you were both stood in the freezing cold, in the middle of Central Park.
All that mattered was that this was going to be the beginning of the rest of your life with the woman you loved.
Suddenly, Natasha stood up and picked you up by the waist, twirling you both around.
Honestly, you were surprised she didn’t stumble, considering the fact that she was wearing such high heels. Luckily for you though, she didn’t fall.
You were both laughing like maniacs when she finally stopped spinning. You were like two teenagers in love without a care in the world.
You leaned down, still in her arms, and kissed her passionately.
You could feel all the love and adoration she had for you through the kiss and you prayed to God that she could feel just how much you felt for her too.
When Natasha disconnected the kiss, she placed you gently onto the floor, your arms immediately going around her neck, hers securing themselves around your waist.
“We’re getting married?” She asked in disbelief. Natasha genuinely couldn’t believe that you said yes, even if you never gave her any indication that you would say no.
“We’re getting married.” You reassured her, kissing the tip of her nose, practically melting as her nose scrunched up adorably.
This definitely wasn’t what you expected the night to be like, but you wouldn’t change any detail about it for the world.

Yuta has everything in his life. A supportive family, a wide range of friends, an extravagant amount of money, a fancy house, and a luxury car. Being the vice CEO of a large family company made him the most eligible bachelor in town yet he never saw himself as someone in a relationship before. Not that he hated girls, but unlike his friends, he believed in the magic of love. His parents were a great example of that. And he wanted the love they have.
Even if he had every luxury in life, Yuta had always felt lonely. Maybe because he grew up as an only child. Or because he had to grow up as an adult now. It’s like there’s a void missing in his heart.
He wasn’t new to the charity parties his mom would always host. No one would support her better than him. But he hates it when she uses this as her way for him to get introduced to other girls his age in their social circle. So even if he’s the son of the host, he would always find himself outside the venue.
Today, her party was held in an orphanage. It was a confusing theme for him. Why here of all places? Yet, as usual, he went outside the hall after being introduced to twins who were five years younger than him. He was on a call with an international client when a soccer ball went to his feet followed by a young girl in a messy bun running to where he is. Yuta had to put down his phone before picking up the ball. “Is this yours?” He asked, which made the young girl nod. “You can play soccer?”
“I can kick the ball.” She answered that made him smile, nodding. Of course. “Can you play soccer?”
Yuta smiled. When was the last time he played the sport? Maybe during high school? “When I was younger.” He handed the ball to her.
“Why can’t you play now?” She asked. There’s a lot of answers to that question. He’s an adult. He’s so busy with the company to play. “You still have your feet.”
Yuta chuckled. She was right. “Then, can I play with you?” She nodded, smiling widely. Her smile is so pretty, eyes sparkling. “What’s your name?”
“I’m Yuri.” She introduced then held six fingers up. “I’m six years old.”
The older man removed his jacket, placing it above the bench. “I’m Yuta.” The young girl giggled saying that they almost have the same name, making him smile. She’s so cute.
It’s been days since he met the younger girl in the orphanage yet his mind can’t get past the fact that she kicked the ball like a pro, she even goaled twice against him. Yuri. Almost the same name as him. Whenever he had nothing to do, he would trail off to the thoughts of the younger girl giggling. It might be the happiest day in his life.
The void he was missing all along.
He weighed the pros and cons of his decision. He needed to be responsible if he pushed for this. Needed to make time for her. Money isn’t the problem, just time. So one dinner night with his parents, he opened the topic. “Mom, if I adopt a child, can you help me take care of her?” He sounded so casual that his parents were too surprised. His mom liked the idea while his dad just smiled at him, saying that he honestly wanted a kid in the house. “I’ll make time this weekend, mom. Can you come with me to the orphanage?”
It was a decision that scared Yuta. What if instead of being beneficial to the child he becomes harmful to her? The nun running the orphanage kept on thanking him, even explaining that they were given three months if they wanted to continue with the adoption that confused Yuta. There’s such thing as that?
Yuta smiled when Yuri entered the door. She grinned, running to him and asking if they could play again. “They’re going to adopt you?” The nun said that made her look at the two in question. Yuta nodded, saying that they can play whenever they want which made her grin.
His mom kept asking Yuri if she wanted to eat while driving her to their house. The younger just shook her head, answering politely that she’s not hungry. “If you need anything, we can get you what you want. We’re going to meet your grandfather and he’ll be happy to meet you.”
“Grandfather?” She repeated that made Yuta look at her from the rearview mirror. Their eyes met. “Then Yuta oppa is going to be my dad?” The older woman nodded. “Who’s my mom?”
Yuta lightly chuckled. “I can’t promise you one for now. But we’ll see, Yuri.” The answer even made his mom smile which she hid in a cough.
She was excited to see the wide yard and a goalpost on one side, squealing that she’ll have a blast playing soccer. A large pool can be seen from the back of the house and her eyes feasted at the high ceiling and the chandelier she called Cinderella. When the older woman brought her to the kitchen, a small popper can be heard that startled them. There’s a banner welcoming Yuri in their house and different food on the table. Yuta was astounded at the fact that it was his dad who made all of this. The president of Nakamoto Corporation throwing a small party like this? They might really be too excited about having a kid in the house.
The couple was showing Yuri all the rooms in the house, introducing her to the maids and the cook while asking her to tell him what she would want to eat all the time. Yuta stayed in his own office to finish some work he brought home. The door opened followed by a small knock and Yuri was there, eyeing the large spacious room. “Can you tuck me to bed, please?” Yuta chuckled before leaving the folder on the table and standing up to follow her.
Yuri’s eyes were so wide when she entered the room. “We can change the color of your room if you want,” Yuta said that made her shake her head, plopping on the bed. “Are you fine with everything?”
She nodded, hugging the pillow. “I don’t want to change anything. I’m just happy to be here.” Yuta smiled, pulling the blanket up to cover her. “Thank you, Yuta appa.” Once again, he smiled widely.
He hasn’t done anything. It’s too early to thank him yet.
Yuri adjusted well in their house that made Yuta relieved. His parents were both attentive to her and whenever Yuta would go home in the evening, Yuri’s smile would always take away all his tiredness. Her, staying in their home is the best thing that might have happened in their lives. On weekends, he would teach her soccer. His mom would have tears in her eyes seeing Yuta laughing with her.
And to formally welcome her to their family, his dad had asked Yuri to come with them to another charity party.
Yuta held her shaking hand as they got on the elevator to where the party will be held. She’s in the light violet dress that his mom picked for her and she looked really cute, but something is missing from her look. “Are your friends going to be there?” the young girl asked that made Yuta nod. “Can I tell them that you’re my dad?”
“Of course you can,” Yuta answered immediately then gave her a confused look. “Why?”
Yuri smiled, shaking her head. “Can I eat anything inside?” His parents smiled adoringly and Yuta nodded, telling her that she can eat anything except the wine. Yuri held his hand tight when the elevator doors open.
She quickly became the darling of the crowd, everyone liking her cheery aura but some stared at the younger and Yuta as if asking why. Unlike other parties, Yuta never left Yuri’s side who was seated properly at their table. He would only stand up to refill the marshmallows she liked so much. He took a long time when the wife of the chairman of another company came to him and introduced her daughters. He also bumped into some international investors or clients and stopped to greet or make small talks with them.
When he returned to their table, Yuri was giggling and talking to a girl who was sitting on his chair. “Appa!” She called that made the older girl turn to him. He knew her. Y/N. What is she doing here? “She is Y/N unnie. She talked to me while you’re gone.” Yuta apologized, putting down the plate of marshmallows while sitting on the chair beside Yuri. “She also gave me this clip.” Yuri showed the glittering clip on her hair. Yuta smiled, the missing piece of her look.
“I’ll get going,” Y/N said, smiling at Yuri. “It was nice to meet you, Yuri.” But the younger held her hand, begging not to leave yet.
She lightly glanced at Yuta in worry which made him look around. Some people were looking at them. Yuta held the back of Yuri’s head, “Do you want to go outside with Miss Y/N?” The younger girl nodded while grinning widely. “Is that alright with you, Y/N?” She looked startled but nodded, holding a hand out for Yuri which she immediately accepted.
Yuta watched the two disappear to the giant doors heading outside to the fake yard by the balcony. Maybe Yuri needed a woman’s attention. She talks a lot with his mom but Yuri might need a younger perspective. Yuta sighed, leaning on his chair. Maybe Yuri needed a mom.
While the younger girl was occupied, Yuta started talking to some businessmen he knew from the crowd. His mom asked once where his date is and he only said that she’s outside with someone. When she asked who it was, he only smiled. “Can you believe how thick-skinned that guy is?” Yuta’s dad asked and without even the name, he knew who it was. “He’s only here to get some investors from us.”
“Honey, he’s friends with the party host.” the older woman said while holding his arm and Yuta nodded at his dad, watching the rival businessman. Now that he’s staring, there’s nothing common between him and his daughter. Maybe she looks like her mom. “Do you want to go already? I’ll get Yuri.”
But Yuta shook his head, saying that he’ll do it. He smiled at some girls his age who were obviously talking about him before opening the large doors to the balcony. Yuri was seated on the fake grass next to the older girl in the silver dress, her laugh echoing in the air. “Yuri.” He called softly that made the two stare at him. “We have to go home.”
He saw how her face fell then stared at the older girl who had her back on Yuta. “I still want to talk to you more, unnie.” The girl tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, promising that when they meet again they’ll talk a lot more. “Oh, your clip.” But she shook her head, saying that it’s a gift.
Yuri ran to the older guy, bidding farewell to the girl who only smiled while brushing her skirt. “What did you and the unnie talked about?” Yuta inquired while holding her hand. Yuri grinned, answering that it’s girl stuff and she had fun. Yuri does need female supervision.
-----
It was another party, Yuri wearing the hair clip given to her in hopes of seeing the older girl, when Yuta found out how much that clip costs. It was pure diamonds and only two clips like that were made, one of them belongs to a well-known princess of a foreign country. If someone knew, Yuri’s life will be in danger. He needed to ask Yuri to return the clip.
Since they had always been attending parties or Yuri coming with him to work, he decided to hang out with the younger girl and get her some clothes or things she needs. Of course, it’s much better to let his mom come with her but Yuri always complains that she gets tired easily that the younger can’t even ask her to play in the ball pit which she wanted to do. So to do what she wants, it was Yuta who came with her to the mall.
It was a large place, filled with luxurious things yet Yuri doesn’t look excited at all. He was looking at the necklaces in the display, wanting to give Yuri one as a gift. But when he looked to his side, she was already nowhere to be found. Yuta looked around in panic. He just diverted his attention for a short time, she’ll be around. But he cannot spot her yellow shirt anywhere. Fuck, his mom is going to kill him.
He can’t call someone, his mom will know for sure. How do you look for a missing child without alerting anyone? Yuta just roamed around the mall, keeping his eyes out for the younger girl. "Mr. Nakamoto." Someone called, stopping him from his tracks. The larger man bowed at him and he bowed back, confused as to why he was approaching him. Who is he? Maybe he took Yuri. "Ms. Y/N is with your daughter," Y/N? Did she kidnap Yuri? "They're at Selene's as we speak." Huh?
Yuta just thanked him before heading to the shop he mentioned, his eyes blinded by everything pink. A girls' store, no doubt. The lady welcomed him and guided him inside a small door which read VIP, asking him if he wanted anything but he shook his head. He just wanted to see Yuri.
The large curtains opened and he stopped in his tracks when the younger girl came out with a light blue dress. Yuta smiled at how cute she is. "Appa!" She called while grinning at him. "Where have you been? Why did you get lost?" What? He heard a giggle from another side of the room when the large curtains opened and Y/N could be seen in a wedding gown.
Yuta gulped. She looks pretty in that. But he didn't know she's getting married.
"Unnie, that's prettier," Yuri claimed, jumping on the couch and staring at the same girl Yuta is staring at. "Take a picture wearing that."
Y/N giggled. "And you look so pretty with that dress." She complimented then asked the lady in waiting to get a white belt for Yuri. "And please, can you get Yuta some drinks?" The guy looked surprised before shaking his head, saying that he's fine. "We'll just finish this quickly. I'm sorry." The guy nodded before she nodded at another lady in uniform.
One lady took Y/N's pictures while the other put a belt on Yuri. He was lost at the moment. What is happening? But Yuri was having fun so he just sat on the couch, staring at the younger girl. "Unnie wanted me to model the clothes she made." Yuta was startled, she made these clothes? "She said she's going to give the clothes to me and they're really pretty."
Yuri was called to take pictures and he only watched as she posed for the camera as if a real professional. She's so cute. He took his phone to take pictures of her so he can show his mom later. Y/N went out of another door in a shirt and jeans, watching Yuri. "I'm sorry. She saw me and said she wanted to come with me so I asked a bodyguard to look for you." Yuta shook his head. So that was her bodyguard? Heiresses really had it differently.
"I didn't know you make clothes."
The girl smiled. "I went abroad to study for it." He remembered her just leaving during their third year of studies in university to go abroad. Yuri skipped to where they were, twirling around. "Are you tired?"
The younger girl shook her head. "Can I try the pink dress now, unnie?" Y/N had to look at Yuta who only nodded. The younger made a little 'yey' which made him giggled before running to the fitting room followed by one lady. Y/N had to tell another lady to get a white hat with a pink ribbon.
"I'm really sorry." She whispered.
Yuta smiled. "Girls." He said with a sigh that made her laugh. He watched as she put a clip on her hair, remembering the one-of-a-kind hair clip Yuri has. "Oh, I asked Yuri to return the hair clip you gave her but I don't think she brought it today. Can I just send it to you later?"
"What hair clip?" She just forgot a million-dollar clip? When he explained what it was, she only nodded. "That was my gift to Yuri, it's fine." Yuta gave her a pointed look. "Your daughter is very lovable Yuta." She giggled before continuing, "She must have got that from her mom."
Before Yuta could say another word, the curtains opened and Yuri was grinning in her light pink dress. Y/N kneeled to fix her skirt then took the hat to put it on her head. "This looks so good on you. You're so pretty." She cooed but Yuri held her cheeks that surprised Yuta. "So are you, unnie." Why does he suddenly feel like the third wheel here?
He was smiling as he watched her pose for the camera, smiling widely. Yuri really loved this. And he loved seeing a new side to her. When she was done, she suddenly complained about being hungry and asking Y/N to come to eat with her and Yuta which made the older girl look at him nervously. "Listen, honey, your dad and I can't be seen in public."
Yuri looked confused, "Why not?" Yuta had to answer that their dads are rivals and that they hate each other. "Why do they hate each other?"
Y/N giggled at her endless question. "It's like my dad and Yuta's dad liked the same toy so they always fight to get that toy." Yuta chuckled at her explanation before Yuri's words surprised him, "Why can't they just share the toy?"
Children's minds are really simple, Yuta thought. It's true though, this company rivalry is getting out of hand. And seeing Y/N nodding, answering the younger with a 'They should, shouldn't they?', he realized it shouldn't be this way. "But you can invite her to grandpa's birthday on Saturday," Yuta claimed, which earned a wide-eyed look from Y/N.
"Yuta, I can't…"
"Mom said we can invite anyone. You're Yuri's friend so it's just right to invite you." He explained but she only sighed. "You made Yuri's dress and you're my guest. I'll send you an invitation, Y/N."
"I'll wear the dress you made, unnie." Yuri exclaimed. "You don't want to miss it, right?"
Y/N had to laugh before nodding at her. "You're such an amazing negotiator," She teased the younger girl. "Probably got that from your dad."
Yuta laughed. She probably did.
Had fun writing this but I had to cut the fic since the next scenes are kinda dark and heavy. By now, I know you already know what the plot twist is. 🤣
Second part will be posted first week of August.
Thank you for reading. And please, feedback is highly appreciated. 😁

Rex and Anakin Raise a Family: Part Two
Part One
------------------
Anakin takes the news with... not grace, really, but an odd sort of resignation.
"Room to fix things," he mutters to himself, eyes set unseeing on Luke's tiny form.
Twins are often born smaller than single births, Rex remembers hearing somewhere. He hopes that's the only reason these two are so small. Leia feels absolutely minuscule in his arms.
He wishes he could ask Kix.
"Do you want to find Jango?"
Rex lifts his head to find Anakin staring at him with an earnest kind of depression. It's strange, and sad, and not helping with the question. "What?"
"You... you grew up with a lot of family," Anakin mutters, eyes cutting away to the side. "Fett would be a kid right now, yeah? He's... young. And you don't have the family that you used to have, but--"
"I'm not going to go out and find Fett to adopt him," Rex says firmly. "He was a genetic donor and once or twice a teacher. I have no interest in forming any bonds there."
He hesitates, but that was--Anakin was trying. Not succeeding, but trying. "Thank you for asking. It's... maybe if my childhood had been a little different, I'd have wanted that. But I don't, here."
Anakin winces. "Right."
Rex watches his general bounce a newborn, and thinks this is my life now.
There is no GAR to fight for, no brothers to save, no Empire to fight against. They'd thought there would be, but there isn't, not yet. They could find and warn the Jedi, but none of them would know Anakin. Nobody is going to look at Rex and see a clone. He's older than Fett, now.
"We're staying here," Rex decides. Anakin looks up from Luke's little face. "I'll figure out how to get us some Republic Idents. We'll get the twins registered. This planet is safe and out of the way, and we can figure something out for the money. You're a good mechanic, that's honest work, and I'm... I don't know. We've got a ship, so I can maybe do what Fett did and take bounty work. We'll figure something out."
"I can't ask you to stay with me."
"You're not asking," Rex says firmly. "I'm telling you. You don't get to push me away, sir. We're all the other has left, and you're not getting rid of me that easily."
"Okay," Anakin says. "If that's what you want."
------------------
They don't have a whole lot of money personally, but this was Padme's ship. She'd been rich, and prone enough to danger to know the worth of hiding money where she could. They may not have more than a few weapons on here, but they have money.
For now.
Rex knows his general is itching to go to Tatooine, sees the man muttering and twitching about it, needing to do something, and that the something has to do with Tatooine.
"Can it wait?" Rex asks.
Anakin stares at him, uncomprehending.
"Your kids are only a week old," Rex tries to explain. "They need you right now. Is this something that can wait a few months, where I can watch them while you take a week or two to handle what you need to do?"
Anakin takes Leia from Rex, and doesn't bring it up again.
------------------
Rex goes with Anakin, when they visit the nurse. He catches gossip about the two of them, but people don't go out of their way to approach. Mostly, people are just repeating the 'died in childbirth' cover that he gave before, telling each other who the strangers are, and why they shouldn't try to get involved.
The nurse asks only enough questions to get a medical baseline established for the twins. Anakin doesn't volunteer much, and when the Twi'lek woman asks if they'd like her to set up medical files for either of them, Rex has to immediately decline.
He has no idea what his blood is going to turn up. Genetic fuckery and something to deal with the advanced aging, maybe. He's not sure he wants to know, but either way, it's probably not going to be something this small clinic can handle.
"I'll have to set one up if you want to take the lactation aid," she tells Anakin.
"Yeah, okay."
She takes blood. Almost everything is mostly normal, except.
"Your midichlo--"
"I know."
"Are you--"
"Jedi aren't allowed to marry."
She doesn't dig further, just glances at how Anakin's holding Luke, and nods.
"It doesn't seem like there are any complicating factors. I can write up a prescription right now and you should be able to get it filled same-day. There will be a list of instructions and side-effects on flimsi when you pick it up, but I'd like to go over it in person first. Do you want Mr. Torrent to stay here with you as we do that, or to wait in the hall?"
"Up to him."
"I'll stay," Rex promises.
------------------
Three pills a day, one with every meal. Tissue stimulation by massaging the pectoral area, and allowing the twins to suckle even before there's anything to actually drink. Expect soreness and increased appetite, don't drink caffeine or take any form of stimulant while nursing. Here's a list of possible side-effects, the best way to handle the minor ones, and which ones to contact a medical professional about.
All very normal.
Anakin's rarely ever done anything with less than his whole heart, and Rex isn't surprised to know that Anakin is this dedicated a parent as well. He's... he was proud to serve his general, but he thinks there's something just as fulfilling as being by his side here and now. There's something better about helping raise the little ones that would never be found on a battlefield.
"Do you want them to call you Uncle Rex?" Anakin asks during a feeding. "Or... ba'vodu? Or do you want to just..."
"Just what?"
"...we're going to be co-parenting," Anakin says, not meeting his eyes. "And every time I try to suggest you go and find something for yourself, something that doesn't revolve around me, a person you were literally tube-grown for, you say you don't want to leave. So if you're going to be sticking around, really staying for years and years... we could tell them to call you buir. If you want."
"Oh."
Oh.
It's a lot. It's something Rex has maybe fantasized about before, getting to be a parent instead of just a soldier, but he'd also resigned himself to the fact that it wasn't really an option. Even now, he'd just expected to be a friend of the father, maybe an honorary uncle if he was lucky, or--
"Are you sure?" Rex asks, before he can start to hope. "I don't--I don't want to take Padme's place."
"You're not," Anakin says, fierce as anything. "You won't--nobody can ever take her place, but there are people with five parents, or none, and I'm not going to--I don't want to--"
Anakin squeezes his eyes shut and breathes harshly for a few moments. Leia fusses, like she's seconds away from crying, and Rex watches as his general holds the child in his arms closer to his chest, visibly focusing on calming down in a way he rarely, if ever, had during the war.
"It's okay, Papa just got a little upset, it's fine, we're calm, I'm sorry I got sad, honey, I'm sorry you had to feel that," Anakin whispers under his breath as he bounces the baby.
(Raising Force-Sensitive children was never going to be easy anyway.)
"You're sure about this?" Rex asks again.
"You want to be involved in their lives," Anakin mutters. "So... yeah, you should get to be their dad in name, too. And if you use Mando'a, it'll be easier for them to have different names for us."
"People are going to think we're together."
Anakin shrugs. "People think a lot of things."
Rex wants this. He wants to imagine the twins toddling up to him, grins on their faces, calling him buir and meaning it. He wants to have what he saw at the Lawquane's, where a lack of blood connection and a half-sliced age hadn't stopped those children from claiming Cut as their father. He's only thirteen, technically, but he wants to have a family, even if it's as broken as what they've found here.
"I'd be honored, sir," Rex says. "I... thank you. I can't tell you how much this means to me."
"You don't have to," Anakin mutters, refusing to meet his eyes. "I can feel it."
Right.
"They already love you," Anakin continues, as if his goal today is to just smash Rex's decorum to pieces. "Part of that is just baby stuff, I think; they don't exactly know more than us yet, but you're around them all the time and are primary caregiver whenever I'm not... not okay. So they love you, so much, and I just... I'm not going to ignore that when you already love them too. So you should get to be their dad. If you want."
He does want.
"I'd like that," he says, and knows that he hasn't bothered shielding in days, so Anakin knows just how sincere that is.
Anakin hesitates, visibly so, and then stands and crosses the room to join Rex on the couch, each of them holding a twin.
A head rests lightly on Rex's shoulder. He lets it.
"There are rites," Anakin says quietly. "On Tatooine, for the slaves lost to the desert. People that died in search of their freedoms, where there's no body to bury but you still need to mourn."
Rex knows this. He says, "the clones had mourning traditions for the brothers who died in explosions or behind enemy lines, the ones we couldn't retrieve."
Anakin knows this as well. He nods.
They sit together, quietly, as calm as they can be for the too-perceptive children in their arms, and they know they need to mourn properly.
Rex can only hold his jagged edges in place for so long.

Mistress Of Evil
This is a My hero academia Oc story but it can also be read as an X Reader
All credits for the plot, storyline and characters go to Kohei Horikoshi, except the parts of the story that are my own and my own original character.
WARNINGS: May include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements
Description:
"This is where my fun begins"
That's all she said that she took one step forward and off the tallest building in the area.
Only to land perfectly on her feet at the bottom, without okay in the world.
No one will be able to stop what's coming"
Those were the final words of the night as she slipped away into the alleyways, as the sun began to rise signaling the start of a new day in the first day that she'd finally be her true self!
Prologue
"You have to focus Rairaku, you have one of the most powerful quirks anyone has ever seen. You need to learn how to control and harvest the full and complete power of your quirk, then no villain will ever be able to get away from you. Once you're a hero, you will quickly rise in the ranks as a pro. Your quirk will make you a great hero someday, you will be respected by your colleagues and feared by every villain, you'll be able to open an agency to teach and guide others, just like I have with you… None of that will happen though if you don't focus on your training right now!"
"Yeah whatever, you really did a number on me, what would I have done without you to turn into a freak show. Do you think people are intimidated by other people's quirks? How insecure do you have to be in your own power to believe someone is better than you just because they have a better, stronger, flashier quirk than someone else? That's not how this shit works. No one gives a fuck if you have a strong quirk, they judge you before they know you… All this society cares about is if you have a quirk or not, if you do, well you have a chance to be a hero or a villain… Quirkless people are cast aside and left forgotten… You should take yourself as an example here, you had an amazing fire quirk, a villain came along, you lost a battle and lost your quirk, how quickly did the hero commission cast you aside as less than worthless? No one even remembers you as a hero, you only still have a hero license because you know a few tricks here and there that come in handy from time to time… The reality is that they don't care, no one does… You have this crazy idea that if you push me and push my quirk to its limits until my body collapses my quirk will be this superweapon you can offer to the commission on a silver platter, so much that at this point, I don't even know what my quirk can't do… nothing surprises me anymore!"
"That's the beauty of it, there's nothing it can't do. You have no limitations, except the ones you place on your own body essentially making it weak! You keep that strong quirk of yours trapped inside that weak and feeble body of yours, but fear, not I will fix that. You'll be training five more hours a day starting now, so back to training young lady!"
It's no use… My body can't take anymore, it needs a break, but this bitch is never going to give me one… This person should have never been a mother, thank god I'm adopted! I'm so fed up with this training. I don't remember a time I was not training my stupid quirk. I don't even want to be a hero and be just another puppet for the hero commission to control, I want to be free…
This whole shit show will soon end, if it's the last thing I do I'll make it end! I have exactly one month to come up with a plan, a month before I start attending U.A high school, the best hero school in the whole country. I got in through recommendations thanks to my dear old mother.
Making the executive decision to sneak out and try to find some way or idea to execute any sort of plan, but also have fun doing stuff that I probably shouldn't be doing, but who cares? I certainly don't.
Sneaking out has become very easy, living in a fancy neighbourhood isn't all that, live here long enough though and you learn to move in the shadows, allowing myself to become one with the darkness of the night and all that just so nosy neighbours don't see me and start commenting on my "behaviour"...
It's not the first time I've snuck out, certainly won't be the last, but this is the first time that I've gone into the city. Yokohama is truly a beautiful city, especially at night. I love to watch the nightlife, it's the time when villains shine the most, but at the same time, I cannot live among pigs that think they can drunkenly take advantage of an innocent woman just walking home.
Luckily I haven't encountered anything like that tonight, instead, I'm casually relaxing on a rooftop in the middle of the city, looking down at the world like God looking down at his subjects.
"What's someone so young doing up here?" an intimidating voice calls behind me. I already knew someone was approaching me minutes ago…
"Well, if I'm being honest I would say I'm thinking about the murder of a certain ex-pro hero… But better to be here and as far away from them as possible or who knows what I'd do to that bitch… I'm so tired of her living in glory as the world pities her for losing her quirk, while behind closed doors she's an abusive piece of shit!"
"Then jump. It will end all your tiredness, once and for all"
"As much as I'd love to, especially from up here, with this view, I can't, as soon as I start falling my quirk will just levitate back up here. Also even if I could, I'd just be proving her right, proving to her that I'm just as weak and pathetic as she thinks I am, so much that I took the cowards way out. No thank you. I'd suffer a while longer and have the satisfaction of watching her take her last breath. I will not die, not until I shove all her fake heroic ideologies down her stupid throat."
"Hmph… Perhaps then you shouldn't jump… I can however help you deal with her. This world must be cleansed of fake hero pretences and false ideologies. Back to the time where people knew the true meaning of what being a hero truly is!"
"So what? You'll kill her? If so then just go ahead and do it! No one will care about her death. To her, I am just another job the hero commission gave her, one she wasn't even qualified to do. If you do it, don't do it for me and my sad sob story. Do it because you truly believe in cleansing hypocritic heroes from this world. If that is indeed what your goal is I will give you all the information you need on her and all the other corrupt heroes in this society."
"What's your name kid?"
"Rairaku Ishii, you can call me Rai though. And I'd rather for you to not say your name out loud, you never know who could be listening, but I know exactly who you are, I'm telepathic, and it's a pleasure to meet you, I must say I'm a fan!"
"Good. Now about that information, you said you'd give me…"
"First ex-pro hero Pyro, she used to be very popular as Endeavour's sidekick, but now she's lost her quirk. She's basically useless, but people still praise her for some reason. Make it slow, she deserves a slow painful death, "heroes" should never abuse their power or others!"
"Are you sure? There's no turning back after this"
"I've never been more sure of anything in my life. She has to be punished for what she has done. Starting today, I'll be the person I want to be."
"And who might that be?"
"Don't know yet! I could be your accomplice, after all, it seems we'll be seeing a lot more of each other."
"Fine, just know it might take a while, I have pressing matters I need taking care of first"
"The longer you take will just make me kill her myself"
End of the day it really should be me. I should be the one to kill her, I should be the one to do it. After everything, she's put me through? After everything, she's done to me? Killing her… Would that make me a villain? What better than that, a villain goes against every hero ideal she's ever tried to engrave into my brain…
Yes, that's it. I'll be the worst type of villain this world has ever seen.
This is where my fun begins!

Lost Time // Luke Patterson
Summary: Things changed since Sunset Curve fell apart literally as three out of four members died before a gig. Leaving a sad girl behind Luke by chance runs into the reader with someone else. Death tore the couple apart, and time can’t fix this.
Warning: Talk of death, depression, angst and fluff
Words: 2.2k
Might as well join the Julie and the Phantoms fan club!
*For the sake of the story the time frame has been altered, it takes place in the mid-2000s. Also! I tried to make the reader as generalized as I could to make sure that everyone can relate. The reader is Alex’s sister, for inclusion that can be biological, adopted, half or stepsiblings. I want to make sure all people can be the reader.

THIS IS FROM MY SECONDARY BLOG! REPOST!!
Tumblr media
The 1990s was definitely some of the best years of your life watching your brother grow more comfortable in his identity. Alex had kept his sexuality secret, taking the frustration of the secret by learning how to play the drums. You would often be found curled on the chair listening to his growing talent; Alex was a great brother.
Alex found friends in three local boys Reggie, Bobby and Luke, even a little more than friends with Luke briefly. By 1991 the boys had formed a band Sunset Curve with each other and a loyal fan in you. By mid-1994 the band had a fanbase and some gigs, but playing The Orpheum was the goal.
Luke had admitted to Alex, he had feelings for you, and with a lot of encouragement from Alex, he approached you. Luke had been focused on music since his parents gave him his first guitar, so relationships weren’t even on the backburner.
“Hey.” Luke spoke, pressing a kiss to your cheek backstage, “Missed you.”
His hair tickled your skin, bringing a bright smile from the teenage boy and a deep blush from you, private time wasn’t as often as it once had been. After Luke’s fallout with his parents a few months back, he had couch surfed between Reggie and Alex’s rooms; he wasn’t allowed in yours.
“You saw me last night.”
“A monumental time.” Luke bent his bend to place a lingering kiss on your bare shoulder, his jacket having fallen down, “Three years together and a bright future ahead.”
Last night had been the third anniversary of your relationship and hopefully the previous night worrying on parents walking in, cheap dates Luke often felt guilty about. Luke knew in his bones playing The Orpheum tonight would open the door to a legendary future. A future where money wasn’t tight and he could you on dates he deemed acceptable for the love of his life.
Bobby voiced brought Sunset Curve’s lead singer back to that moment, you dropped from the stage to settle in the empty audience to watch the soundcheck. With a wink from Alex, he started making the beat to Now or Never, you beamed as they poured their souls into the song. The four were talented and made to be in a band together even if you didn’t really like Bobby.
Cringing at the awkward wink Bobby sent you turned on your converse to head to the bar for a glass of water. Thanking the bartender, you tuned out the conversation with the waitress and the band only jumping when arms wrapped around your waist.
“We’re getting street dogs.” Luke spoke, bringing your body to rest on his chest, “Do you want one?”
The thought of those street dogs honestly horrifying given they were cooked in some random guys car. The one time you tried, it had permanently tattooed the taste in your memories forever, and just remembering was vomit-inducing.
“I’ll pass.” You wrinkled your nose, turning to wrap your arms around his neck, “I don’t know how you guys like those.”
“Tradition.” Luke shrugged caressing your cheekbone with the pad of this thumb. Gazing at features he wanted to wake up to for the rest of his life, “Still down with the plan?”
“The minute I’m eighteen, we go to the nearest chapel.” You grinned playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, “I’ll be waiting Rockstar.”
Luke pressed a long passionate kiss on your lips, pulling away to jog over to Alex and Reggie waiting at the door. Bobby having declined the street dog invitation to flirt with the waitress Rose. Alex waved before the door closed. Little did you know that would be the last time you saw them alive.
1995 was the worst year of your life. 1996 was the hardest, especially with the forever reminder of your love. You wouldn’t trade 1996 for the world however, only wishing for one change.
Tumblr media
Los Angeles, 2004
Alex, Reggie and Luke had learnt a mere few days away from that life had drastically changed forever. Firstly, the three boys had died from eating the street dogs mere hours before performing on the stage of The Orpheum. Secondly, it was no longer 1995 but instead nearly ten years had past bringing the three ghosts into 2004.
The most jarring wasn’t being able to be heard playing music with a random girl named Julie but that the most constant part of the band no longer was there. You hadn’t died that night, and Alex was pretty sure you were still alive. Luke felt lost waking up without you beside him and the deep regret of not reconciling with his parents.
It would be a week before Luke would swallow his pride enough to orb himself into his unchanged childhood home. Emily, Luke’s mom, was in the well-worn chair knitting a scarf Luke recognized as his favourite colours. Mitch was in the kitchen, putting the groceries away. It was heartbreaking being invisible to his aged parents.
“Hey, Mom.” Luke sniffled sitting on the couch nearby staring at his silent mother, “Sorry for not visiting sooner.”
Tears welled up in the boy’s eyes feeling hopeless, not being able to ease his parents’ pain, the regret and guilt bubbling to the surface.
“How is Y/N? I bet she’s living in New York of London now. We promised to travel the world together. Part of me is guilty of wishing she had eaten a street dog that night so we could be together.” Luke sobbed, wrapping his arms around his midsection reminiscing on the beautiful girl he had unwillingly left.
“Hey.” Mitch spoke, kissing his wife’s forehead. Her eyes closing in contentment.
“I wonder if you know where Reg and Alex’s parents are. Reggie’s neighbourhood was torn down who knows when. It makes me scared to see if Alex and Y/N’s parents still have their place. I don’t think so. They lost their son.”
“Hey Luke.”
Luke glanced over his shoulder to see Alex at the door, reluctant to impose of Luke’s privacy.
“Yeah.”
“We’re rehearsing.” Alex spoke, smiling as the other teenager took one more wistful look at his parents before orbing out of his house to the Molina family’s garage. Minutes later, the front door opening and feet thudding brought the noise to the Patterson home.
“Grandma!”
A four-foot blue of green and black blur covered the room in seconds nearly sprawling Mitch to the floor. Why was that 1996 year difficult? Well, ’95 was when Sunset Curve tragically died, and a stick changed your life. ’96 was spent going through the last five months of pregnancy without Luke.
October 1995
You kept your lips pressed tightly together, unable to look at the smooth, shiny mahogany rectangle surrounded by flowers. Looking up meant the reality kicking in. Funerals sucked. Especially the third funeral in the last handful of days. It was surreal thinking that one week ago you had kissed your boyfriend and hugged your brother and now they were dead. Gone. Not even a goodbye.
“Are you okay?” The broke voice asked, gaining your attention. Swollen red eyes matching yours held unimaginable pain. While the last few months had been icy with your parents, it didn’t mean losing one of their kids didn’t sting.
“I will be.” You whispered clasping your hands over the scratchy black velvet dress, one you had worn three times too many.
The sobs broke out seeing the best picture Alex had taken in his life, it encapsulated his best features; his beaming smile and kind, caring eyes. Alex was gone. Your brother was gone because he ate a bad hot dog with his friends. You would never see your boys again. Never feel Luke’s skin or share a laugh with Alex or complain about things with Reggie. You wouldn’t get to meet in the chapel with Luke wearing second hand ‘fancy’ clothing. In one night, your life changed.
It changed further seeing the two lines on the test later that night. The heartache growing. The baby you carried would never meet his uncles and his Dad. Would never hear them play or learn to play. ’95 and ’96 sucked ass.
You sighed, closing the door to follow the rambunctious ball of energy into the living room where he entertained Mitch and Emily. Some days it was difficult to stare into the green eyes he inherited from his father.
“Benjamin Lucas.” You spoke crossing your arms, meeting the gaze of the eight-year-old boy, “What did I say?”
“To not runoff.” Ben quietly replied, playing with his hands. His messy brown hair, in need of a trim, falling into his eyes, “Sorry Mom.”
“Please don’t do it again.” You gently told the little boy elated as he quickly found the toy box in the corner of the room.
Ben was loved deeply by Mitch and Emily, who had stepped up when your parents made the decision to sell your childhood home. Wanting Ben to know his paternal grandparents, you had struggled to find an apartment and job to say in the neighbourhood. Since the baby was the last part of their son, the Patterson parents’ had welcomed you into the home where you stayed until Ben was two.
“Do you want us to come around for Luke’s birthday?” You questioned sitting on the love seat, the same love seat you had made out on with Luke many times during movies.
The room turned sad at the question and reminded that for the ninth year, you would celebrate Luke’s birthday without him. A day where Ben wouldn’t fully understand. Emily simply nodded her head.
“Have you met anyone?” Mitch asked, leaning over to clasp his hands together. For the last few years, they had been pushing you to date. They wanted your happiness and for Ben to have a father even if Luke couldn’t be it.
“Mama can we stay here tonight?” Ben’s innocent voice cut the tension, saving you from answering the question again. Mitch and Emily each nodded their heads at the question, unable to tell the young boy no.
“Have you ate?” Emily asked, turning to look at you in concern. The chuckle left your mouth at the question she frequently requested, she missed cooking for more than two.
“We had pasta before we came.” You replied, turning to gaze out the window to the dark sky, “I should put Ben to bed.”
The soft whine from your son and denial was a nightly routine and very much a mirror image to Luke’s character as well. With a smile, Emily held out her hand to her grandchild, she was notoriously the only one able to get Ben to sleep fast.
 “Come on Bug.”
It seemed the universe was keeping Luke from seeing you and discovering Ben, but when that night came, he was shocked. Emily was curled up on the patio couch, watching Ben in the newly bought sandbox. The patio doors opened. Inside, Mitch had invited a stranger who knew his son into the house.
“I think I heard the doorbell. I’ll be right back.” Emily called out to you. You had found shade under the tree reading a new book.
The soft cry had you up and running to Ben before you even realized, on his knee was a bleeding wound. You had already scooped the boy into your arms to quickly get into the kitchen. The moment your foot stepped into the home, the sound of a familiar voice and song filled the house.
Gently placing Ben on his feet, you followed the sound to the living room. Across the room behind a young girl stood a boy.
“Luke.” You breathed floored at the sight of the teenager who looked exactly like he did back in ’95. The ghost singing widened his eyes at yours, taking in the mature features and change of fashion.
He continued to sing the song Unsaid Emily he had written as an apology to his mom following the last big fight. The song he never got to show her. His voice faded as the ending of the song came around.
“Mama!” Your attention broke from Luke’s when a tiny hand reached for yours. The pain in his voice bringing you back to the most important part of your life, “It hurts Mama.”
Despite being sad, Mitch was the one to cross the room to lift the little boy into his arms. Placing the little boy on the counter, the man gently wet a paper towel to wash the area.
“I think he needs stitches.” Mitch sighed, furrowing his brows.
“Who is that?” Luke asked the Molina girl. The girl shrugged taking in the features she could recognize. Julie asked Emily.
“That’s Ben.” Emily beamed, looking over her shoulder at the little boy that filled the void of Luke’s death. It didn’t fix the wound or erase the pain, but Ben’s existence helped with the loss as he was a precious gift, “When Luke passed away his girlfriend Y/N found out she was pregnant with Luke’s baby.”
The choked sob fell from Luke’s mouth echoed by the thud of his knees, hitting the floor in the pure shock. The heartbreak painted so clear Julie was sure she could feel Luke’s agony.
God, why did Luke have to eat that fucking street dog. Fuck his band dreams. Nothing hurt as bad as finding out about Ben and Y/N having to be a single parent.
“I have a son?” Luke cried, orbing himself as far as he could from the Patterson home and his most tremendous loss.

Part Five: Niki
She has no idea what to expect from this server. It makes her a bit nervous, if she’s being entirely honest. Dream is a man with a reputation stretching between worlds, and when the letter from Wilbur first arrived, she didn’t know what to think. But she does find it easy to believe that Wilbur would take one look at a man with a position of authority and decide to cause trouble. Founding an entire country is above and beyond, even for him, but picturing it comes naturally to her. For as long as she’s known him, Wilbur has never been one to do things halfway. That’s not always a good thing, but—
You should come to see it, the letter read. It’s really something, Niki. Everyone’s worked so hard, and I’d love to show it to you.
So here she is, letter folded neatly in her breast pocket as she wanders down the wooden paths that seem to function as the server’s main thoroughfares. There’s been no one to greet her just yet, even though she’s certain her entry pinged on everyone’s communicators, if they were looking. But perhaps that’s for the better; the letter told her that Dream wouldn’t harry her, but that doesn’t mean she’s particularly eager for a meeting.
And it’s simple enough to find the nation. L’Manberg. Just a little further down the path, and there it is, just like Wilbur described to her, blackstone walls raised around it and tipped with yellow. She can see over the top from this vantage point, can pick out a few structures, a flicker of fire, and perhaps a few people moving about, though from this distance, they look more like ants. There is also a tower under construction outside of the walls, already tall but still uneven, clearly not yet finished.
She grins and picks up the pace. The entrance stands wide open, and by the time she makes it there, she’s all but jogging, and then, coming to meet her—
“Niki!” Wilbur calls, a wide, beaming smile on his face, and she laughs, barreling into him for a hug.
“Wilbur!” she says in return. “It’s so good to see you!”
“It’s so good to see you!” Wilbur exclaims. He returns her embrace eagerly, though he steps back after only a moment, resting both of his hands on her shoulders. “I’m so glad you came, Niki, I’ve got so much to show you. We’re really doing something special here.”
“I can see that,” she says. “I could see the walls from far off. They’re very impressive.”
“Oh, I know,” Wilbur says, and his eyes shine. With pride, with joy. “They’re a symbol of our freedom, of our refusal to bend under tyranny. But that’s not even the half of it. We’ve done so much here. Please, let me show you around?”
He’s already taking her by the arm, so it’s clear that it’s not really a question. Or rather, that he’s presumed her answer. But in this case, he’s presumed correctly, and he’s obviously so excited to show her this place, this place that he’s worked so hard to create, so she lets him take her on a tour. He points out some of the structures that they have—“Much better than they were before, Niki, though we’ve got plans for plenty of others.”—and takes her around the walls, and then to the stage—“We’ll have public events and such here!”—and then outside of the walls, to the tower, where he introduces her to Eret, a lovely-seeming person who’s evidently responsible for much of the construction work here. She’s certain that she’ll get along with them wonderfully. And then, back inside the walls—
“I saved the best for last,” he says, and leads her to a structure that he skipped over, a van topped with what appears to be a shape like a—hot dog? A hot dog on fire? A flaming hot dog?
“Is it a hot dog van?” she can’t help but ask.
Wilbur laughs. “Not quite,” he says, “though it does look that way, doesn’t it? It’s the camarvan, Niki, the camarvan. It’s where all of this started.” He takes her up the stairs and inside, and the interior isn’t quite what she was expecting, judging from the outside. It’s a bit grimy, a bit smoky, though nothing too difficult to breathe through. And it’s full of brewing stands, some of which are actively at work. There’s a door toward the rear, too, apparently leading to a back room of some kind, and she thinks she can make out somebody’s shadow on the wall, bobbing in the haze.
“I will fully admit,” Wilbur says, in a conspiratorial tone, “that this nation started out as an effort to get a monopoly on potions here on the SMP. A drug van, if you will. We didn’t set out to start a country, but when Dream threatened us, well. We really had no choice but to declare independence, not if we wanted to stand up for our ideals.”
A drug van. Her lips twitch up into a smile.
“And what ideals are those?” she asks.
“Freedom, of course!” he replies. “Justice! The fight against tyranny! And also a good bit of sticking it to the man. The man, in this case, being Dream.”
He gestures as he speaks, hands tracing adamant patterns in the air, and she nods along, keeping half an eye on the back room. The shadow stills, and before too long, a face pokes around into the doorway. One that she recognizes, blue eyes wide and blond hair messy, and this face is followed by another, one that she doesn’t recognize.
“Holy shit!” Tommy says, and Wilbur jerks, head turning. “You didn’t say that Niki was coming today!”
She doesn’t know Tommy very well. She’s only had the chance to meet him a few times, this kid that Wilbur all but adopted as his younger brother. She knows that he is brash, that he is loud, that he has a way of bringing all eyes to him that is entirely different from Wilbur’s brand of smooth charisma, that once he decides he wants someone’s attention, he is as persistent as a gnat that’s found an ear to buzz around. Though perhaps that’s not the most flattering of comparisons. There is some truth to it, though; Tommy, from what she can tell, often doesn’t seem to care how he leaves an impression, only that he does.
Really, she hasn’t seen enough of him to judge. But he does seem like a good kid, and in any case, he looks at Wilbur like he hung the moon. Which Niki understands very well; it’s easy to be caught up in Wilbur’s orbit.
“I didn’t know when she’d get here,” Wilbur says with a laugh. “Here, come out, both of you. Niki, you’ve met Tommy before.”
Tommy grins at her, and she can’t help but grin back. He wears the same uniform that Wilbur does, an antiquated long blue coat and a tricorne hat, and it fits him well. He seems to be at ease in it, in an outfit clearly styled for a soldier. He’s only fifteen, he knows, but in this moment, she almost mistakes him for older.
“This is Fundy,” Wilbur continues, walking over to the boys and putting his hand on the other’s shoulder, the one that she’s never met. His uniform is different, pastel-colored, and compared to Wilbur and Tommy’s, not very well-made. “He’s my son.” He smiles. “My little champion.”
Something about that timeline has to be off—Wilbur is in his mid-twenties, and this boy looks to be about Tommy’s age, perhaps even a little older. So there’s something strange about that, but perhaps he’s adopted; Wilbur has a habit of adopting things, bringing people close. Or perhaps there’s something else at work. Either way, it seems rude to press at this second, so she smiles in greeting, noting the way that the boy’s ears are twitching—fox ears. A hybrid, or perhaps a shapeshifter? That might explain the incongruities.
“It’s nice to meet you, Fundy,” she says.
“Nice to meet you too,” Fundy says. His voice is resigned, perhaps a bit sullen, and she gets the impression that there’s definitely something going on that she’s not privy to. Whatever it is, though, Wilbur seems unaffected, as he keeps his hand on Fundy’s shoulder, still smiling.
“Fundy was the first citizen of L’Manberg,” he says. “He was born right here, inside the walls. A bit before they were constructed, of course, but it still counts.”
“Yeah, yeah, we’ve all heard the story,” Tommy jumps in, and she doesn’t think she mistakes the look of relief that flashes across Fundy’s face as Wilbur turns his attention elsewhere. She fidgets, shifting her weight between her feet.
“Well, Niki hasn’t—” Wil starts, but Fundy cuts in.
“And it was great to meet her,” Fundy says, looking between everyone. “Great to meet you! But I’ve actually got something to do elsewhere, so I’m just going to go and do that. Right now, actually. So, I’ll catch you later!” He ducks out from under Wilbur’s grasp, heading for the door. “You coming, Tommy?”
“Be there in a second,” Tommy says. “I’ll just tidy up in there and meet you in a bit, yeah?”
Fundy nods, and then he’s out the door. Wilbur stares after him fondly, and Tommy takes the opportunity to grin at her again—and is it just her, or does that smile seem strained, now?—and he ducks back into the room that he came out of. A second later, there is a clattering sound, glass clinking together repeatedly.
“It’s all for him, really,” Wilbur says, voice soft. “The walls, this country, all of it. Him and everyone, but—it’s all so they can be safe and free. That’s all I want.”
“It’s a good goal,” she says, and his attention finally turns back to her. “It looks to me like you’ve made a great start.”
“I’m glad you think so,” he says, and leans against one of the counters, between two of the brewing stands. “This means a lot to me. This nation, it’s like—a second child, sort of. I’ve got to give everything I can to make it as good as it can be. I really do mean it when I say that it stands for something. Something important.” He pauses, tilting his head. “I am thinking about holding an election, though. Just a little something to consolidate power, nothing big. But I need the authority to guide L’Manberg to its future. Because I’ll tell you, Niki, that future is looking bright.”
She tilts her head, too, mirroring him. “Would there even be anyone to run against you?” she asks. Consolidating power. That doesn’t sound like the sort of thing that an election would help very much with.
He chuckles. “Not that I can think of. That’s sort of the beauty of it,” he says, and then, suddenly, Tommy emerges from the room again. He’s got a couple of potions cradled under his arm, shimmering with a pink glow.
“Wilbur,” he says, and Niki blinks, because his tone is a far cry from a few moments ago, is low and serious in a way she’s not certain she’s ever heard from the boy. “If you’re serious about the election thing, you’ve got to be careful with it.”
It’s an odd response to an offhand comment, and obviously, Wilbur agrees, as he arches a brow, regarding Tommy with a bit of confusion. “What are you on about now?” he asks, gently exasperated.
“It’s easy for things like that to go wrong,” Tommy states. “It might not—it might not go how you’re expecting it to go, you know? So, I think you should open it up so that anyone can run, so that way, when you win, nobody doubts the results and all. But—but Wilbur, here’s the thing, you can’t—I need you to promise me that you won’t invite Schlatt to the server, alright? Don’t have him come and endorse you, don’t even let him step foot in L’Manberg. Don’t have him come here, okay?”
It’s not a name she recognizes. But Wilbur seems to, because he wrinkles his nose.
“Why the hell would I have Schlatt come here?” he says. “Dream banned him anyway, don’t you remember?”
“I know, I know, just, just don’t, okay?” Tommy takes another step closer. His shoulders are tense. “Wilbur, I’m serious about this.”
“Alright, I won’t, I promise,” Wil says, and immediately, Tommy relaxes. There is still a look in his eyes, though, a look of wariness, and the sample size she’s drawing from is small but she thinks it’s still safe to say that she’s never seen him direct that expression at Wilbur before. “Tommy, why—”
“I’m going to go catch up with Fundy now,” Tommy says. “See you later, Wilbur. And Niki, you too. It’s—really good to see you, Niki. I’m glad you’re here.”
The earnestness in his voice catches her off guard. He sounds completely genuine, genuine in a way that she doesn’t really expect from someone like TommyInnit. Because Tommy is loud and Tommy is brash, but she has never known him to be so open. But then again, she doesn’t know him that well. She needs to keep reminding herself of that, needs to keep reminding herself that everyone has depths to them, no matter how uncomplicated they might seem on the surface. She deals with people making snap judgments about her too often to do the same to someone else.
“I’m glad to be here, too,” she says, and then, Tommy is gone, the door to the camarvan swinging shut behind him. She can already hear him calling out for Fundy, and someone named Tubbo, his volume cranked back up to an eleven, like the previous minute or so never happened at all.
Wilbur sighs suddenly, pinching the bridge of his nose. He seems to sag a bit, his perfect posture deflating into something more casual, more—defeated doesn’t quite seem to be the right word, but weary, perhaps.
“He keeps doing this, Niki,” he all but moans. “He keeps saying things that don’t make any sense as if they’re the most important things in the universe.”
“Do you think he’s okay?” she asks, already struggling to find something to say that will help. But the problem is, she just doesn’t know Tommy all that well. She’d like that to change, especially if she decides that she’s here to stay. But right now, she doesn’t know enough to help, and she doesn’t like that.
“I think so,” Wil says. “I hope so. I wanted to tell you while he was still here—he gets all embarrassed whenever I bring it up, it’s hilarious, but Tommy’s the reason that we have our freedom at all. He traded a couple of his most valued possessions to Dream in exchange for L’Manberg’s autonomy. It was a real sacrifice play. I’m very proud of him. But he hasn’t been quite the same since then.” He sighs again. “I’m worried that he’s more hurt by it than he’s been letting on. I’m trying to be there for him, but it’s been—difficult, these past few weeks.” He smiles slightly, meeting her eyes. “Turns out that running a country is a lot of work. Who knew, right?”
“As long as you’re trying your best, I’m sure he appreciates that,” she says. “And I’m sure he’s got other friends as well that he can turn to, right?”
“He does,” Wil says, frustration leaking into his tone, “he does, I know he does, but—I’m supposed to be looking after him, right? We’re like family. Like brothers, pretty much. And the older brother is supposed to look out for the younger. That’s the job.” He leans back further, crossing one leg over the other, and Niki is struck, suddenly, with the idea that he looks very, very tired. There are bags under his eyes that she didn’t notice right away, but now that she’s seen them, she can’t unsee them. “But he’s being weird about it—and do you know, we’ve actually got a few new citizens because of him. There’s this guy, Quackity, and I wasn’t going to let him join, but Tommy kept at me until I gave in. And then just the other day, I went to a meeting, and when I get back, it turns out that he’s snuck in another guy right under my nose. Jack Manifold. Gave him a uniform and everything. And what am I supposed to do, say no?”
Throughout, his voice becomes more and more petulant, and she pushes down the urge to laugh.
“It just sounds to me like he’s making new friends,” she says, and once again, Wilbur sighs, this time much more dramatically.
“I suppose,” he says, sounding very put upon. “I wish he’d just come to me, though.”
“I’m sure he will in time,” she says. “I don’t know him that well yet, but from what I’ve seen, he thinks the world of you. I’m sure he’ll come talk to you when he’s ready.”
Thankfully, Wilbur perks up a bit at this.
“Thanks, Niki,” he says. “You’re probably right.” He shakes his head ruefully, and then smiles. “He beat me to the punch, but I am also very glad you’re here.”
“I’m glad to be here,” she repeats. “Really, I’m glad you sent me that letter.” And then, because she can’t resist, and because his posture still seems to scream tiredness, she asks, “Are you holding up alright? With all of this? I know you said it was a lot of work.”
For a fleeting moment, a fraction of a second, his eyes widen marginally, and the expression passes so quickly that in the murk of the room, she can’t even be sure that she saw it at all.
“Just fine,” he says brightly. “It’s all worth it. L’Manberg is going to be the pinnacle of freedom and prosperity of the Dream SMP. Which actually reminds me, I have a meeting that I need to be getting to. Dream’s been more generous than I expected with border agreements, but we still don’t have everything ironed out as far as trade goes. So I’m afraid that I’m going to have to leave you.”
“Of course, I understand,” she says, and squashes the little voices that starts to murmur disappointedly. She knew from the beginning, of course, that Wilbur would likely be very busy. Still, she supposes that she just hoped she would have more of an opportunity to catch up with an old friend.
Wilbur holds the door open for her as they exit the camarvan, and then one last smile and he’s striding off toward one of the far buildings, one that looks like it might conceivably be a good place for an office. She watches him go, his back straight and strides purposeful. And then, she looks around. There’s still plenty of things to do, after all, and plenty of people she hasn’t met. So she decides to do a bit of exploring on her own.
But it’s not even ten minutes before she runs into Fundy again. He’s crouched over a pool of water, staring at the fish, though he doesn’t seem to have a rod or anything of that sort. She hesitates a moment, wondering if he would rather be alone, before deciding that if he tells her so, she’ll leave without objection.
“Hello again,” she says. “It’s Fundy, right?”
He doesn’t seem surprised that she’s there, even though she made little noise on her approach, and when he looks up at her, she sees the probable reason why; his face is now that of a fox, snout and all. A shapeshifter, then. Behind him, his tail lashes back and forth.
“Oh,” he says. “Hi! That’s me! And you’re Niki, right?”
She nods. “I was hoping to get to get to know some of the people here,” she says. “I think I might be staying.”
She doesn’t know that she’s going to say it until she does, but as soon as the words leave her mouth, she realizes that it was her intention all along. She needed to see the country to finalize her decision, but really, there’s not much for her where she’s living now. A quiet life, some friendly acquaintances, an empty house. Here, there are friends and a cause to believe in, and she wants to be a part of it.
To her bemusement, though, Fundy seems to wilt a little bit.
“Did Wil have to go back to work, then?” he asks, turning his attention back to the pool. His tail swishes again, perhaps in agitation, though she doesn’t know enough about fox body language to be sure.
“He said he has a meeting,” she says, somewhat hesitantly.
“He says that a lot these days,” Fundy mutters. “And when it’s not a meeting, it’s paperwork. Or construction plans. Or just a vague, general thing that makes him super busy that I don’t need to worry about or help him with, so go find something to do, Fundy. But it’s fine.”
She’s stumbled into something that she’s not equipped to be in the middle of, she thinks.
“It does seem like he’s really busy,” she tries. Maybe Fundy just needs to get this off his chest. In that case, a listening ear is something she can provide.
“I know he’s really busy,” Fundy answers. “I just wish he’d let me do something. He keeps treating me like I’m some little kid. I’m not a little kid. I know I grew up quick, or whatever, but I’m not a kid. I fought in the revolution. I even made my own uniform!”
That explains—several things. Why the uniform looks so different, so haphazard. And also why Wilbur has a son who’s nearly fully grown, if he aged on a timeline more akin to that of the creature he shifts into.
“Well then, maybe you could help me make one, too,” she says. “I might want to have one of my own, if everyone else is wearing them.” She pauses. “Do you think you could show me around a little more? Wilbur gave me a tour, but I’d like to know if he left anything out. I’m sure he showed me everything he thought was important, but that might not be everything.” She shrugs, an exasperated, what-can-you-do sort of gesture, because while she’s sure that Wilbur did, indeed show her everything that he thought was important, Wilbur can be prone to tunnel vision when he has a grand plan in mind.
And even if he truly did show her everything, there’s no harm in seeing it again.
Fundy perks up, ears standing up straight. “Yeah, that sounds like Wil,” he says. “I could do that! I’ve been around from the start, so I know all the best places.” He stands, tail moving back and forth rapidly, and that, she is willing to bet, is excitement. She falls into step with him as he starts off, and that seems to be all the invitation he needs to talk, about everything and anything, and there’s just as much about the history of what he’s showing her as there are personal anecdotes, everything from what he had for breakfast this morning to plans for a prank he wants to play on Tommy. It’s endearing, and she finds herself very engaged in the way his words tumble out.
“What do you like to do, where you’re from?” he asks her at one point.
“I like to bake a lot,” she answers. “Maybe I’ll start a bakery here.”
“That would be awesome,” he says. “We don’t have any bakeries. Would you need any help with getting it started?”
And she smiles. “I think I would like that,” she tells him.
It sounds very nice. A nice little bakery, food and sweets for everyone, in a country that she can tell has already become near and dear to her heart somewhere between Wilbur meeting her at the doors and showing her around and now this, his son, showing off his home with obvious joy and pride, just as much enthusiasm as Wilbur showed her.
She thinks she’s going to like it here very much. She thinks she already does.

OC Interview: Fionnuala
Draw (or use an old drawing, don’t worry!) or take a screen of your character in an interview setting and make them answer the following questions!
(I was tagged by @uselessidiotsquad and @thoseofuswhoblossom! Hi, guys!)
Tumblr media
Introduction
Can you introduce yourself?
- Hi! I’m Fionnuala, Nuala to friends, family, and anyone who finds my name difficult to pronounce. I’m a member of the Crystal Bloom, one of Aurene’s Champions, former Slayer of the Order of Whispers, former Warden, and Maker of Friends! Nice to meet you all!
What is your Gender Identity, Orientation, and Relationship Status?
- Cisgender Female, Panromantic Demisexual, and Single. Turns out not a lot of people want to date someone who’s dragon-branded… which I can understand.
When and where were you born?
- I was born in the Grove about…. Five minutes after midnight… sometime in the Season of the Phoenix, in… 1310! Yeah, that’s about right. I can’t remember what day, but the day doesn’t really matter to Sylvari more than the time of day, so… I guess it makes sense. Does that answer your question well enough? Yes? Good! What’s next?
What is your weapon of choice and fighting style?
- I fight with two longswords - one in each hand - and though I’m heavily armored I can and prefer to jump in and out of the Dream like most Revenants do the Mists in order to get the drop on my foes. I do use hammers from time to time when I need to hit something far away that I can’t get to. Though, most of all, I like to use the magic of Aurene to lend support to my allies in battle - regeneration, strength, cunning… though I can’t do that too much or it wears me out. Still makes me happy knowing my allies may have survived because of these gifts.
Lastly, are you happy?
- Well, I’m as happy as my current life situation allows me to be. I know I could be happier, if I had different circumstances, but right now I feel like I’m… content at the very least - my brother is safe, my Mother is getting healthier by the day, and I’m always willing to answer Aurene’s call to service. I’m a bit lonely, in all honesty, when apart from my friends in Rurikton, but for now I’m okay with that - I figure when the right person for me comes along, I won’t be so lonely anymore.
Family and Friends
What’s your family like? What is your relationship with them?
- I have a pod-brother, Sitheach! He’s a wonderful person, and I love him dearly. We’re very close, and we write to one another all the time when he’s on missions for the Pale Reavers, just to keep each other posted on current situations. He’s been home for a bit now, which is a blessing. His boyfriend misses him terribly when he’s away so seeing them back together warms my sparkly little heart!
Have you ever run away from home?
- Nope! I’ve been called everywhere I’ve been, so technically I haven’t “run away” from anything.
Would you consider marriage or having children?
- Well, marriage is a foreign concept to Sylvari, as is childbirth, but I would absolutely love a partner, and would certainly adopt orphaned children of other races if my partner was also okay with raising them, as I highly doubt with my duties as a Champion of Aurene would allow me to effectively raise a child alone. I like to think I’d be a good mother, though.
Do you secretly hate one of your friends?
- Pfffft, what kind of a question is that!? Why on Tyria would you call someone a friend if you secretly hated them? How silly!
Which friend knows everything about you?
- The only people on Tyria that know all about me are my brother, and my best friend Elspeth. That being said, I’m rather open to questions so if you see me in public and want to know more about a specific sliver of my life, just ask! I’ll do my best to answer.
Asked by Fans
Are you literate? Have you been to school?
- I can definitely read and write, as most if not all Sylvari can do that from emergence, and… does the Dream count as schooling? I know learning from Mentors does, but I feel like I learned more from the Dream than I ever did from my mentor - sorry, Maeryn, but it’s true!
What’s the eeriest prediction you made that later came true?
- I don’t think I’ve made any predictions like that, it’d be handy if I could, though… I wish I could’ve predicted the attack on the Grove during the World Summit… if we were prepared… maybe, just maybe Mother wouldn’t have been so grievously injured…
What is something that you were embarrassingly late in realizing?
- I partially understood how the other races weren’t born from pods, but what I didn’t know was the process of mammalian conception and live birth, until a kind Asura explained it to me during a stay in Divinity’s Reach. Hi, Quizz! Hope you’re well!
Do you have mental health or physical issues?
- Hoo boy, where to start… Anxiety and a bit of depression, mostly. Not being on the scene in time to help defend mother during the Shadow of Mordremoth’s attack… it really hit my self-esteem, so now, whenever I’m too late to save an innocent life, it… it haunts me for days…
What is your current main goal?
- My current goal is to protect the people of Tyria and help them in whatever way I can. It may or may not be a compulsion that I get from being Branded, but I’d likely do that anyway without the compulsion, so it works out.
Choices
Drinks or food?
- Drinks! Nothing like a good glass of Nectar after a long day of doing good things!
Cats or dogs?
- Dogs. Sylvan hounds. Specifically the puppies... I need to visit Danador’s Kennel again!
Early bird or night owl?
- Definitely a Night Owl! Which makes sense because of my Cycle. I thrive in the Evenings!
Optimist or Pessimist?
- My friends have never known me to be anything but optimistic in all my endeavors, and I certainly don’t plan to stop now!
Sassy or Sarcastic?
- Ooh, hard choice… they both have their merits… can I say “both”? Is that okay? I honestly can’t choose with this one!
Have you ever…
Been caught sneaking out?
- Of a Nightmare Camp? Yes. On several occasions, actually. I got a lot better at not being caught after I joined the Order of Whispers. Mostly because I didn’t have Ellie to help distract my foes so I could make an escape, if I was caught. Which I wasn’t! Not after Whispers.
Broken a bone?
- Never! Not even during Dragonstorm! Rather lucky on that front, my Priory friend lost her whole arm! Hi, Vledda!
Received flowers?
- No. Grown several myself, though.
Ghosted someone?
- Like, turned them into a ghost? Probably several people.
Pretended to laugh at a joke you didn’t get?
- Oh, plenty, when I was a sapling. I understood humor more and more as I kept living.
And there you have it! I tag @moonlit-grove again because I want Sitheach Lore, dang it!

Patton: If Logan were to jump off a cliff, they would’ve done their due diligence regarding the height of the cliff, the depth of the water, and the angle of entry, so yes. If you see Logan jump off a cliff, by all means, jump off a cliff. Roman: You jump off a cliff! Patton: Gladly. Provided Logan did first.

Remus: I can’t believe you live nearby, and you won’t let anyone crash at your place. Virgil: You people already know too much about me. Janus: I know exactly three facts about you, and one of them is that you won’t let any of us crash at your place.
Virgil: Janus, can I talk to you for a second? Janus: Yeah, what’s up? Remus: Lemme guess. You and Roman are having problems and you want me to teach you how to kiss? Virgil: What? No, stop that. I know how to kiss. I’ve read books.
Remus: In my defense, I was left unsupervised. Janus: Wasn't Virgil with you? Virgil: In my defense, I was also left unsupervised.
Remus: Okay, help me please! Virgil: Got two words for you. Janus: I bet they won't be helpful. Virgil: Your problem. Janus: I was right
Virgil: So are we flirting right now? Roman: I AM LITERALLY STABBING YOU Virgil: That doesn’t answer my question
Patton: Where are you going? Remus: To get ice cream or commit a felony, I’ll decide on the way there Patton: Can you get me a strawberry cone? Janus: Can you kill Virgil? Virgil: Can you kill Roman? Roman: Can you kill Janus? Logan: Can you not commit a felony?
Logan: It’s dark in here Patton: Don’t worry fam, I got this Patton: *Stomps their feet* Patton: *Sketchers light up*
Logan: So what do you do? Janus: I work in genetic research, and I'm currently trying to eliminate all Cancers. Logan: Wow, impressive. Janus: Then I'll move on to Leos.
Remus: Don’t worry, I have a few knives up my sleeve. Roman: I think you mean cards. Remus, pulling knives out of their sleeves: No, I do not.
Virgil: We went through an entire character arc during quarantine Janus: We all became more evil if you’re curious Patton: We're still in quarantine, don't worry, there's time for a redemption arc still! Remus: I’m going to get worse on purpose
Patton: Am I in trouble? Logan: Take a guess. Patton: No? Logan: Take another guess.
Patton: Oh just so you know, it's very muggy outside Roman: *holding in a laugh* Logan: Patton, I swear, if I step outside and all of our mugs are on the front lawn... Virgil: *Sips coffee from bowl*
Virgil: You kill people for money?! Virgil: Can I pay you? Janus: Virgil no- Remus: And all this time I’ve been doing it for free like a chump!
Roman: What are your goals? Thomas as Patton: To pet all the dogs. Logan: No, fitness goals. Thomas as Patton: To be able to run fast enough to pet all the dogs.
Patton: I've already sent good vibes your way… they’re coming. There’s nothing you can do to stop them. Virgil: This is the most threatening way I’ve ever been cheered up.
Virgil: Name a more iconic duo than my crippling fear of abandonment and my paranoia. I'll wait. Patton’s Card: FAM - ILY Virgil, tearing up: Okay.
Logan: I actually have a black belt. Roman: In what, karate? Logan: No, from Gucci.
Remus: Am I going too far? Janus: No, no, no. You went too far about seven hours ago. Now you're going to prison.
Patton, motioning to a Halloween display: All these ghosts! All these ghosts! I still can’t find a boo. Logan: Babe, I’m right here.
Remus: You think I really give a fuck? I can’t even read.
Virgil: Okay okay stop asking me if I'm straight, gay, bi, whatever. I identify as a FUCKING THREAT. Roman, from across the room: You tell ‘em, babe!
Roman: You can de-escalate any situation by simply saying, 'Are we about to kiss?' Remus: Doesn't work for getting out of speeding tickets, by the way.

ghost!tommy au masterpost #2
ghost tommy au masterpost part one
I made another one. w hhh
au summary: tommy loses his final canon life during the explosion right after the pogtopia vs. manberg war
Nobody really knew where he’d gone either - Tommy had allegedly gone “missing” after the festival. In L’manberg, everyone figured that while it was odd, since tommy would usually be running down the Prime path shouting, or just being generally loud and annoying... he was just... missing. Nobody had seen him all week, but everyone had thought they were the singular individual who hadn’t seen him lately. Eventually when one of them asked where he’d been, everyone came to the consensus that they weren’t the only ones who hadn’t seen him. At first, they thought he was just grieving, since he spent the most time with wilbur. But then ghostbur shows up, which, while was a pretty sad/happy moment, it raised some sort of unease....
.... and then, ghost tommy shows up.
I put more details under the cut!!! enjoy pain yall

1. Ghost!Tommy’s Appearance
(should... should I be calling him ghostinnit now? yall use that term a whole lot...)
before he meets anyone (excluding ghostbur and maybe philza. some others might’ve seen him lingering around certain places, faintly), he looked simultaneously exactly as he did before he died, overlaid by his prior deaths (an sword/axe(?) to the back when trying to escape dream during eret’s betrayal, an arrow wound that goes in deep, and currently, visible blast marks and the wither effect). He hadn’t figured out what he looked like yet, other than the noticeable vision problems, but when he did, he did his best to change his form (it’s my current theory that ghosts look like what they want to look like - ie. ghostbur’s nice yellow sweater being a choice on his end). It’s an effort, to look “okay”, and when he goes off the rails, there are hints to what he looks like.
it’s mostly because... Tommy remembers his death vicariously.  All of them. This is not a good thing.
when he does meet people, his form is slightly transparent, but he looks almost normal. there’s that new hairstyle, which really isn’t a stylistic choice on my end ;’] ... there is a lot of sooty(?) grey patches on his sleeves, and a large black mark smack dab in the middle his shirt. The wither markings on his hands aren’t clear, but that they are there is visible. He hates the wither effects the most - no matter what he does, how hard he concentrates, they. don’t. go. away.
He’s got hair over his eye, like wilbur. Gets uncomfortable when it’s joked about, because that’s a part of his face that’s.... yknow.... and he can’t hide it otherwise
Since ghost!tommy is more emotionally gripped than ghostbur is, unable to let go of the past and all the memories + emotions from it (while ghostbur lets go of it Very Easily), his form shifts a lot. Not only to his “death form” (all of his canon deaths on one ‘current’ form), but to that of the different arcs - dirty long sleeves for pogtopia (it’s cold in the ravines, and he don’t got a coat), ripped revolutionary outfit (eret’s betrayal and the arrow both happened here)... and during his more mellower moments, a green bandana that goes around the neck. He’s constantly changing in clarity, too. It’s hard to focus on him at times.
2. Relationships with the SBI found family gang: pain
did you really think we could have nice things in this au? if so... ouch
Phil
tommy did see him sort of as a dad/some sort of older figure to come to for help. but phil has a history of not exactly being a Dad. sure, he basically adopted techno, and wilbur definitely saw him as a dad, but for tommy, it’s an unspoken relationship that they should be like that, that phil should have his back, that tommy can ask phil for help. yet, they don’t. Phil showed up way too late in the game to make an effort on all of the impacts the wars and pogtopia and wilbur have created, and maybe tommy resents him a little, for leaving him and his brothers alone on the server. maybe tommy saw wilbur die by philza’s hands, moments before he did the same point is, tommy was never a “difficult child” persay, he made all of his complaints loud and clear. philza didn’t expect to do any “underneath the underneath” with him... and didn’t feel like tommy needed the attention all that much, since he could basically occupy himself.
Think of it like this, at least in my au, that phil was never meant to be a dad. He just chose to be some sort of strong figure in the boys’ lives (found family!!!!) - but he was a survivor first and foremost, and sometimes it shows. His habits rubbed off on his boys, and that shows too - him avoiding talking about Big Things with ghost tommy is reminiscent of how ghostbur dances around questions, and being pressured into doing things is reminiscent of techno.
Tommy, on the other hand, felt as if phil always favored techno, and if not techno, then wilbur, over him. it’s okay though! he doesn’t need phil, he’s a Big Man™! Look at him... dealing with... a war... exile... funky brother problems... more war... okay maybe if phil showed up sooner things would’ve been better but he didn’t so tommy had to be the bigger man! that’s... that’s okay...? hmm. okay maybe he’s mad at phil a little bit,,,,
techno
ahh, complicated relationships *rubs hands*.
tommy was proud of his brother, at first, the way only little brothers can be, bragging about their cooler bigger bro - that, and tommy lowkey thought there’d be someone to help him with wilbur’s decline. haha NOPE. techno don’t do emotional. thanks,,,,,
on the other hand, all ghost tommy can remember is techno being the unspoken favorite, the favorite child, the favorite brother, teasing and feelings of inadequacy (techno wasn’t a bad brother, though... just... better). And then…he remembers techno showing up well into wilbur’s long decline, techno’s silence when he could’ve used someone to speak up for him, techno’s passiveness towards the paranoia, techno’s stoicism when all tommy wanted was someone to be strong, someone else to be the better man. instead, the job was left to him. why was it always left to him? he wasn’t supposed to do all of this, right?
Techno doesn’t feel all too bad about it, before tommy’s death is discovered. He thinks that the impact of the statement was made through humiliation and violence enough (tommy being pinned down, the hero speech, the ruined victory, etc). What did tommy expect, using the Blade like that? honestly, techno’s a little offended, that tommy thought he could use his brother that easily, like some weapon made of more skill than any of them know what to do with. Techno had made his opinions very clear on government, and then they go on to appoint another one? (even though, it was sort of clear that the goal was to “go back” to the old lmanberg, government and all) so tommy kinda had it coming. besides, he’d respawn and they’d go back to normal.
but then wilbur dies, permanently, and techno has to watch his brother come undone into something else barely reminiscent of what he was momnents ago... ghostbur barely even resembles the wilbur techno used to remember. death matters, on this server, which is two blows in themselves that techno will have to deal with. and then... tommy doesn’t respawn.
techno was sure he’d seen tommy around lmanberg. albeit, like, kinda quiet, but maybe the kid was going through rough times since wilbur died. it wasn’t like techno was going to talk to him about it or anything, since his presence probably wouldn’t be welcomed anyway. tommy was kind of immature, in that regard - he’d be really annoying and yell, like he always did when something didn’t go his way. that, and he wasn’t exactly welcome in lmanberg anymore...
besides, if tommy had a problem, he’d make it clear himself, right?
wilbur/ghostbur
There’s a lot tommy isn’t willing to talk, about wilbur. What could he even say? more than half of the things he did, challenges he stepped up to, were to make Wilbur proud (as he remembered him). He hated losing, because he liked winning more, sure, but also because he wanted to make wilbur proud of him. See: the bow duel, giving up his disc for freedom.
but pogtopia wilbur, well... things only got worse. sometimes, things looked a little better, but over time, tommy learned to expect what came after. even with techno there, tommy was always left to be the “bigger man” - in the aftermath of the festival, the pit, the final pet war - no matter how much he lost, it was always him having to move forward from that point. nobody really helped. it was just tommy and wilbur, and the sound of silence in the ravine.
tommy saw the final explosion of lmanberg as both the ultimate betrayal (the worst thing wilbur could’ve done, couldn’t he have waited, phil was here, surely phil couldve done what tommy spent months trying to do, what techno wouldn’t do, why couldn’t wilbur have this?) but at the same time, he... figured wilbur would pull sometime like this. at this point, the victory might’ve lightened his spirits a whole lot, but he spent months with wilbur alone and in the course of the preparatory week, wilbur didn’t miraculously get better. tommy wishes he did, and he can wish all he wants, but deep down, he knows that he didn’t. the others might’ve not noticed, since they weren’t there for that long.
as for ghostbur, it’s... awkward.
With ghostbur, he’s stuck between wanting to reach out to his big brother and stay away due to alivebur’s memory living in constant loop in his head. Sad as it is to say, he was sort of… relieved, when ghostbur revealed the extent of his memory loss. after that point..  if ghostbur remembers all the happy bits of their time on the server, surely he could help fill in the gaps?
Ghostbur was kind of the first person he saw when he resurfaced, and ghostbur then couldn’t really understand the gravity of the situation, nor who tommy was because of how he acted and looked before. tommy didn’t approach him either, mostly out of fear and anticipation. (he couldn’t imagine this of all things, being stuck with wilbur for all of his undying days, hadn’t he had enough?)
At first, it’s awkward. He doesn’t know what to say, or when to say things, and he’s a lot quieter than in life, so it’s noticeable. He meets Ghostbur, who greets him with joy, until he realizes that Tommy is dead. Memories of the manberg v pogtopia war arise, and he flees. He does not come back, because looking at Tommy hurts. tommy doesn’t get it, really... but.....
and every moment after that, the way ghostbur looks at him, with the guilt in his eyes, the way that he looks away, unable to bear looking anymore… well, tommy is starting to think ghostbur remembers a lot more than what he’s willing to let on (he’s afraid he is). If wilbur doesn’t like him, that’s not… that’s nothing new, anyway. it’s probably one of the few things that didn’t change.
3. Ghost Tommy’s Memories
Going by the HC that they’re caused by how you feel when you die. ie. Wilbur dies happy because he is relieved by Phil stabbing him. That he can rest, while Tommy gets the opposite. Wanting to live but having it so cruelly taken by a loved one that you trusted, only feeling pain and betrayal and the feelings when they had while dying is the reason why they only hold certain memories.
Basically: like Wilbur, only remembers memories associated with a type of feeling. However, unlike Wilbur, Tommy only remembers the bad things.
Ghostbur suggested to phil, who in turn, suggested to tommy that he recorded his memories in a book, like he did! thus, tommy’s “What I remember” book: which is full of stuff he just wants to remember
Dream Good Times (this is just a lie, haha... but refers to the time (read: blank space) before the first disk war)
jokes! (when you make fun of someone, even in good jest, it’s possible they won’t take it that way themselves.)
My home (because it’s been griefed and destroyed so many times at this point)
The disks (not what they sound like though, just that they were apparently important, that he fought for them. he can’t remember what they sound like)
My pets (pet wars. can’t remember whose pet was whose. he remembers mars, though. he talked to mars a lot, on days that pogtopia was quiet... empty...)
the duel
Winning the war (trading the disks for freedom)
L’manberg (manberg)
… Tubbo (? ...dying at the festival.)
Techno & Wilbur  (and phil, and what they did to him, and what they didn’t do.)
pogtopia hanging out with friends (there was nothing good about pogtopia, so he crossed it off and wrote the most blandest happy thing he could replace it with. he wishes pogtopia was just that)
the pit
winning the war (the victory, the explosion his death. if you ask why he wrote it twice, he just.. hesitates. “we won, right?” you might nod along, assuming his memory was just being faulty, that all he could remember were the two victories, that like wilbur, nothing beyond the election/exile registered... but you could also note that neither of those “victories” really felt like winning, in the end. consider the cost...)
i have a secret second list for his “actual memories”. i call it “the list of grievances”. i am so clever haha
4. other ghost tommy stuff
since ghostbur had to go and add some stuff to ghost Lore™, i guess ghost tommy now melts in the rain and snow. not that he really... cares...
other things! these are ideas, idk...
1. presence
maybe whenever he gets near someone, the temperature drops and people feel overwhelmingly negative emotions (ie. sadness, pain, anger, guilt, etc). the intensity of the sadness effect depends on the person or if the person is near - the more that person had done, the more they felt.
Wilbur just feels like melancholy. nobody really notices, since it’s .... well.
2. connections to things?
maybe he’ll be found at certain locations, like his house/jukebox, the election podium, pogtopia, etc, etc... just, ghosting...
4. maybe he’s not actually dead
3. have some blue .... or yellow
either:
a) ghostbur gives tommy some blue to hand out, trying to be nicer to him anyway, like “give people this, it makes people happier if you give them something to drain the sadness”!! but when tommy tries to hand it out, it’s already fully blue. If asked if it was supposed to be transparent, or why it’s already blue, or etc, he responds with “no it's always been blue for me!” because when he’s given it, it turns blue instantly. maybe he seems little sad it doesn’t work on him, but it must be because he’s a ghost, right?
or
b) maybe he makes yellow that gives people happiness (it turns transparent as it’s used), but when he holds it it stays yellow.... because really all it does is draw up previous feelings of contentment, but... can't feel happy if you've never felt it before :’]
4. his body discovery
his body can be found where it was last... left. since he didn’t respawn.
They find him while cleaning up the rest of the rubble. and it's evident how he died, because there are wither marks, explosion burns, and... a final injury that must’ve been the killing blow, since there’s no way he would’ve survived that. it's evident he suffered, but not from the killing blow. his face has that... expression. he looks as miserable as his ghost does, at times (contrary to wilbur's exact opposite). maybe techno is there. they're not sure if tommy just got caught in the crossfire. they think he did, because he was buried under all of this. who would have ... intentionally done this to him...? while he was trapped?
maybe techno approaches to see what everyone looks so wicked out by. and he sees his brother or more like, what was left of his brother. oof.
5. Pranks: completely out of chronological order i guess... BUT I WANTED TO INCLUDE IT AAA
tommy isn’t... peaceful. he’s not at peace. he’s surrounded by the people who he can remember taunting him, hurting him, betraying him, all he can remember feeling is anger, grief and resentment - how long do you think he’ll play nice for? even though he wants things to go back to normal, either he feels like he’s much too dead for anything to ever be the same, and/or everyone ... moved on pretty quick, huh.
tommy begins to prank the server, like he used to. but there’s a pattern to it, and it quickly devolves from seemingly light-hearted to borderline malicious and definitely inconveniencing/annoying.
ghost tommy filling dream's current base/go-to-residency (since this man canonically homeless) with clay... and then, later, other blocks, like tnt, obsidian...
he sets up multiple jukeboxes when dream goes to sleep and have them all play cat/melohi at different intervals at once, kind of like. "you wanted this so bad, now eat it”.
misplace sapnap's current pets (if he has any). fill sapnap's house with horses, cows all named "h" names, and eventually turn it into an elaborate aquarium filled with tropical fish.
George’s house gets scrambled: like the blocks all get swapped and stuff, or replaced with lime wool/clay. maybe fill his house with alarm clocks or something? idk
He's hesitant about techno... so one of his earlier steps is: collaborate with sam with the horse maze (who sees it as a bonding activity! fun for the whole family!), but in the books, on the last page of all the books, he writes notes like "you know what you did" and stuff idk, i gotta come up with 8 of those. at the end, skeppy brings back the books and the hornse and techno's like haha i didn't write those books! and skeppy says, that makes sense! why would your write this... (he assumes the first few are threats, but then they reference techno in diff ways, so he gets confused), and then techno's like: wait what
maybe he probably releases all the horses n cows and other things techno’s got. or relocates them (cause he still cares about animals, he doesn't want to hurt them... he's not sapnap after all)
at first it's funny, normal. then it's annoying. and then it becomes worrying. it elevates in destructive tendencies, and also escalates in amount so people start going "tommy this is so annoying"-> exactly the reaction he wants, so he continues -> "this isn't funny anymore, tommy!" well, it never was supposed to be :)
....and they realize suddenly that none of it was meant to be a "prank" or a joke, tommy genuinely was trying to make their lives as hard as they did him.
ALSO EDIT: i bring you: dreamon hunters! part two! tubbo n fundy fight over what to do with ghost tommy, as tubbo doesn't think there's anything wrong with tommy (it’s his best friend, of course nothing’s wrong!), while fundy thinks he's a malicious poltergeist (with all the pranks.... that’s... that’s not tommy. tommy isn’t that spiteful... is he? )

i want to see you, dressed all in white
a short catradora oneshot, set at the time of adora's future vision. requested by @nozomijoestar. read on ao3.
Catra could not believe she was wearing shoes for this. It was such a strange experience, hearing the click clack of heels coming from her feet as she walked, but alas! Such was the life of an ambassador of Brightmoon.
And, she thought privately, the life of the wife of She-Ra. Hopefully. If everything went well tonight. She subtly traced the outline of the ring in her pants pocket. The box itself would have been too big and clunky to fix in her pocket, so Glimmer had helped her out and given her a tiny leather pouch to hold it in.
“If she finds the pouch, just say it contains important ambassador information like…IDs!” Glimmer had suggested.
Catra had raised an eyebrow. “We need IDs for Princess Prom?”
“Well no, but…” It was Glimmer’s turn to raise her eyebrows. “You and Adora did miss half the planning meeting, so how would either of you know?”
Catra had smirked. “We were…busy.”
She gave her a decidedly unqueenly shove. “Of course you were, Horde Scum.” Then Glimmer pulled her into a hug. “I’m so happy for you both. Adora’s gonna say yes immediately.” Catra wasn’t worried about her saying no; she knew that Adora loved her more than anything, and they’d been talking about marriage for a while now. No, she was worried that somehow something would go wrong and it wouldn’t be perfect. Adora was as amazing as the moons and the stars—she deserved perfect.
“Catra? Catra!”
She snapped back to the present. Adora was waving her hand in front of her face, grinning. Even at age twenty-seven, she still hadn’t lost the adorable, dorky look on her face.
“Sorry, zoned out for a sec,” she said, taking Adora’s hand and jumping gracefully down from the skiff. She took a minute to admire how beautiful her girlfriend looked tonight—she looked like a queen in her own right, the tiara sparkling off her golden hair and the white dress making it all too easy for Catra to imagine her walking down a wedding aisle. Her stomach fluttered.
“Are you nervous for your second Princess Prom?” asked Adora; her tone was joking but her eyes softened in a way that made Catra feel instantly safe.
“Not with you by my side,” said Catra, pushing down her nerves and leaning forward to press their foreheads together. “Are you nervous?”
“Not with you by my side,” Adora mimicked, smiling against her lips.
If anyone was definitely nervous, it was Bow and Glimmer. This was the first formal event where they would be introduced as a married couple, and they had spent the whole skiff ride fiddling nervously with their clothes and asking to go over the schedule so often that Catra had asked Bow if he’d switched bodies with Adora.
“You two look amazing,” Adora told them for the seventh time this hour.
“Are you sure the capes don’t look stupid?” asked Glimmer. “I don’t wanna look childish.”
“What if I trip and fall on it?” Bow worried, toying with the edge of his cape.
“If you do, I will laugh and then kick all the asses of anyone else who laughed,” Catra assured him.
“And I’ll help!” said Adora gleefully, holding up her hand to be high-fived. Catra obliged her.
Glimmer and Bow both took a deep breath in sync. “Thanks, guys,” she said, a real smile spreading across her face.
Bow stuck out his hand. “Best Friend Squad!”
Everyone put their hands in the middle. “Best Friend Squad!” they cheered.
——
The former-Fright-Zone-now-renamed-the-Light-Zone looked absolutely stunning. Scorpia had really outdone herself. Unlike at Frosta’s prom, which had been decorated with gleaming ice sculptures, the ballroom was decorated with smooth, sleek black crystals reminiscent of the Black Garnet, giving the whole room a very sophisticated aura.
“Presenting Queen Glimmer and King Bow of Brightmoon!”
Bow and Glimmer did not, to their credit, trip over their capes or do anything else notably embarrassing. In fact, they were the textbook example of dignified, waving proudly to the crowd as they walked up to the dais, and then bowing low to Scorpia, who immediately jumped down from her throne to greet them.
And then it was their turn.
“Presenting Adora, Princess of Power, and Catra of Brightmoon!”
Catra offered her girlfriend her arm. It was partially an affectionate gesture and partially an effort to make sure she herself didn’t trip—she still wasn’t used to these shoes.
“Your Highness,” Catra said to Scorpia as she bowed.
“Oh, none of that ‘Highness’ crap!” Scorpia chortled, practically bouncing off her throne to envelop the two of them in a tight hug.
“All this stuff is so formal,” she whispered. “I’m so out of my depth.”
“You’re doing amazing,” Adora promised her.
The next hour or so was filled with so many boring conversations and introductions. It seemed like every diplomat and ambassador in Etheria wanted to talk to her and Adora. It was really cute when little kids came up asking for She-Ra autographs, but if Catra had to hear about the rising fish prices in Salineas one more time, she was going to be homicidal.
Despite coming as each other’s dates, Catra and Adora had to split up in order to divide and conquer all of their social obligations, a strategy that Bow and Glimmer had also adopted. That didn’t stop Catra from throwing as many longing looks at Adora from across the ballroom as physically possible.
She tried to seek shelter with Double Trouble, who would definitely not force her to ruminate on the state of “today’s youth”—a conversation that withered old advisers seemed to love—but their need to be the center of attention kept also drawing attention to Catra. This made it particularly hard to accomplish her goal of “only talking to people she wanted to talk to”. Glimmer, surrounded by a group of Mystacor sorcerers, gave her an arm squeeze in solidarity as she passed by.
Eventually she managed to escape yet another drab discussion of the pros and cons of a trade alliance between the Crimson Waste and the Kingdom of Snows under the premise of greeting Frosta. She was able to enjoy the beginning of a nice banter/advice session concerning Frosta’s love life before the princess was preoccupied with an adviser asking her opinion on intra-kingdom matters.
“I’m surprised you haven’t taken those off yet,” Adora said behind her, making her jump. She gestured down at the cursed shoes.
“I wish,” Catra grimaced, taking the cup of punch her girlfriend offered. “I was afraid someone would throw a fit.”
Adora wrapped an arm around her shoulders, which Catra leaned into gratefully. “Is it that advisor over there?” she whispered in her ear, subtly turning Catra’s head so she can see who she meant. “The one with an angry look on his face? Are you afraid of him?”
She snickered. “What, did you have to hear his monologue about decorum too?”
“He even made a comment about ‘last time’,” Adora told her, laughing under her breath. “A very pointed remark about breaking tradition.”
“Ooh, insulting She-Ra, is he? I’ll kick his ass.”
“My hero.”
Catra turned to face her fully, placing one hand on Adora’s hip. “You know it,” she murmured, leaning forward to press their lips together.
“Adora!”
Catra pulled back, groaning under her breath, as they both turned to see Perfuma waving at them. The flower princess held up her own cup and gestured at a group of stern-looking Plumerians. Adora pecked her cheek before hurrying off again.
At this point, Catra was beginning to get worried that she wouldn’t ever get the chance to be alone with Adora. She once again traced the outline of the ring pouch in her pocket, biting her lip.
Then, to her immense relief, music started playing. She grinned. It was time for the real party to start.
Adora easily found her on the dance floor. Catra leaned eagerly into her warm touch, let herself be rooted in her relaxed blue eyes. “Will you be my dance partner?” asked Adora teasingly.
Catra pretended to think it over. “Hmm, I don’t know. Are you any good at it?”
Adora winked. “Nope.”
Catra blew her a kiss, and then the dance started, everyone moving in sync. Adora kept her eyes fixed on her girlfriend, her steps steady and confident despite her previously stated lack of talent. “I love you,” she murmured.
“I love you too,” she murmured back. “Always have, always will.”
The movements of the dance pulled them closer, the tempo slowing down. Adora used this opportunity to cup her face and kiss her firmly—finally—before the pace of the music picked back up again and everyone switched partners.
The carefully-choreographed switch in the dance pushed her and Glimmer together, a move that made the both of them grin easily. Things really had changed since the last Princess Prom, Catra thought to herself.
“Do you have a specific plan?” asked Glimmer, nodding almost imperceptibly at her pocket.
Catra nodded. “I just need a way to get a moment alone with Adora.”
Glimmer winked at her. “I can do that.”
Then she was passed off to Mermista, who she hadn’t seen yet that evening. “Heard you knocked up,” said Catra in lieu of a greeting.
Mermista twirled her, a lazy smirk sliding across her face. “Yeah, just a little baby barnacle growing, nothing to see here.”
“Congrats,” Catra told her genuinely. Mermista would never be her best friend—that was reserved for Adora, and Glimmer and Bow—but she had the deepest respect for her, and they got along wonderfully.
A slight blush drifted over her cheeks. The queen had never been good at accepting compliments—one of the many things they had in common. “Bow told me,” she said, “so like, congrats to you too.”
Catra rolled her eyes, but there was no malice behind it. “What, does the entire Princess Alliance know?”
“Probably,” drawled Mermista, and then Catra spun her one last time before they parted ways.
“Catra!” Scorpia greeted her with just as much enthusiasm as before. “I heard the news! How can I help?”
As they began the waltz, Catra mulled it over. “Actually,” she said, her eyes lighting up, “I do have a request.”
——
“Greetings, Princess Prom guests!” Perfuma said in a trill, speaking into the microphone. “I hope you all enjoyed your first dance of the night! Now we will have a live performance by our beloved host, Princess Scorpia!”
The crowd cheered wildly. Scorpia stepped onto the stage, looking radiant and sure of herself under the spotlights. She tapped the microphone once to test it, before she began to hum the opening notes of a ballad.
Scorpia’s song wafted through the ballroom, filling the air. Perfuma sat behind her, strumming a huge string instrument made of wood and occasionally providing backup vocals.
Catra and Adora swayed together on the dance floor, saying nothing, just enjoying each other’s presence. Catra spun her around slowly as Scorpia crooned, occasionally pressing a light kiss to her skin as she drew her closer. Adora, in turn, just watched her, a soft look on her face.
After Scorpia finished her first song of the night, everyone cheered, clapping their hands and whistling in approval. The princess flushed a deep crimson, exchanging a delighted look with Perfuma over her shoulder. A shout of “Encore! Encore!” started up.
Catra took Adora’s hand. “Let’s sneak out for a bit,” she whispered. “Everyone’s entranced by Scorpia’s singing, so we won’t be missed.”
The gleam in Adora’s eyes was ever so familiar, a look that she hadn’t lost even as she grew older. “Lead the way,” she whispered back.
They snuck out through one of the many hallways branching out from the ballroom. The hallways were well lit and decorated similarly to the ballroom; it looked so different from the hallways they’d once scampered through as kids.
But they raced just the same, hand in hand, giggling as they chased each other. Catra mussed up Adora’s hair, cackling as her girlfriend playfully pulled her into a headlock. Their outfits were thoroughly disheveled by the time they reached the ladder, but Catra didn’t care.
“Do you recognize where we are?” she asked.
Adora touched the rail of the ladder. “Of course,” she said, returning Catra’s grin. “I’d recognize this place in my sleep, no matter how many times the walls are repainted.”
Catra kicked off her shoes, sighing with relief when the pads of her feet touched ground again. “Follow me, then.” She hoisted herself up onto the first rung of the ladder, and began to climb.
“Not fair!” shouted Adora below her. “I’m wearing a dress and you’re not!” But she heard her feet touch the ladder rungs anyway.
Catra offered Adora her hand on the top rung, which she took gratefully. The two of them stood together on the platform, in the exact spot where they’d spent so many hours as children. Catra inhaled, breathing in Adora’s sweet, familiar scent.
Adora stared out over the former Fright Zone, still wrapped around Catra. “The Light Zone is a good name,” she said finally.
Catra purred softly as she ran a hand through her hair. “It’s so much nicer now,” she marveled. “Scorpia did so well.”
Adora turned to look at her. “So did we,” she said, cupping her cheek. “We’ve rebuilt so much since the war ended seven years ago.”
Catra picked up on the double meaning of her words. “We have,” she said, pressing their foreheads together and smiling against her lips. Her heart pounded in her throat. This was the perfect moment.
Catra pulled back, just far enough to give her space to kneel. Quickly, she rehearsed her speech in her mind, She reached into her pocket and pulled the ring free from the leather pouch.
She began, “Hey, Adora—”
“Will you marry me?” blurted out Adora.
Catra’s jaw dropped. For a minute, she said nothing.
“I mean, you—you can say no,” Adora said hurriedly, clearly taking her silence as a bad sign. “I didn’t plan out an elaborate proposal or anything, I don’t even have a ring, but—”
“I have a ring!” said Catra, still shocked.
It was Adora’s turn to gape at her. “You—What?”
A grin split Catra ear to ear. “Yes, you idiot!” she exclaimed. “I was going to propose to you tonight—right now, actually! Glimmer and I have been planning this for months!”
Adora almost fell over laughing, clutching her stomach. “Wow,” she said, breathless, “we make quite a pair.”
“We do,” said Catra, throwing her arms around her neck and kissing her passionately.
“I love you,” Adora told her, her words slightly muffled against her lips.
Catra got down on one knee and held out the ring in her palm for real. “Adora,” she said, ignoring the happy tears that pricked the corner of her eyes, “will you marry me?”
Adora knelt down so they were level. “Yes,” she breathed out. “A million times, yes.”

Marinette did not sign up for this
Don’t hate me, this idea is stuck in my head. I’ll work on the others when I have time + motivation to (I have a lot of WIPS at the moment)
Marinette really, really hates this whole ‘de-transform after five minutes of use’ thing. Hawkmoth does not have to deal with this, this mysterious Guardian doesn’t have to deal with it (Tikki only mentioned the guy once by accident and won’t say anything) and Chat is in agreement with her on this: five minutes of power to de-transformation is a big liability. Her luck ran out after only a month and a half of being Ladybug.
The akuma was still running lose, and she was stuck in the Burn Unit of St. Bridgette’s. She really, really wishes she could just… not be here. At all. They cleared her for head trauma not long after she woke up. Apparently there were so many people injured when that building caught fire and crashed they had to use the DNA match system for everyone… has she mentioned elemental akuma are terrors? They are. She now has no real feeling in her hands, her legs aren’t the best to move right now, and her feet? Were melded to her shoes at the time. Thankfully her earrings weren’t lost in the scramble. They’re on the table beside her, which is good. She can get Tikki back if she puts them on.
She has no way of putting them on to fix this mess.
And Maman and Papa weren’t able to get her anytime soon.
Just.
Her.
Luck.
Why did she think it was a good idea to keep being Ladybug? Alya, Alya was why. Alya believes in the girl in the mask. So does Chat. And all of Paris. Tikki too, but Tikki wants her to be Ladybug because she gets creating and has so many avenues, something about it opening her mind to more creative problem solving? She doesn’t know if its true… she can’t out-think this situation.
Who isn’t she letting down right now?
She paused as… something moved by her window. Turning to get a better look, Marinette really, really hoped she was seeing things.
Chat Noir. At her civilian identity’s hospital window. On the third floor. During the first 24-hours-and-counting akuma attack. (Its only been a month and a half, but still. She was proud they managed them all in a few hours until today.)
“…Chat Noir?” She hoped he didn’t recognize her as Marinette. Really hoped—Chat had only met Marinette once, Evillustrator, and maybe saw her on patrols. That should… please let him not recognize her… she doesn’t want to give up being Ladybug because of this.
The hero took one look at Marinette (who hasn’t been able to look in a mirror yet herself) and winced. Oh… that bad? She decided pointedly to not look at her reflection on any of the surfaces.
Chat knocked on her window.
She tried to walk on her feet but her body screamed “NOOO” on her first attempt to stand up. She ended up crawling over a chair on her elbows and knees instead--as her hands took the brunt of her burn and she wasn’t going to anger them more than necessary. When she tried to bend her finger initally they screamed at her to stop, threatening a full-on revolt.
She winced at Chat’s expression. He… he looked so sad. Why? He only met Marinette really one time—granted there were two other times for a moment or so where she gave him a cheese croissant for his kwamii when he de-transformed later—but still not enough to warrant him looking so (broken)… That.
“Hey Purrincess,” his cheer didn’t reach his eyes, “a friend of a friend said you might have someone I was looking for.”
Marinette twitched, looking to her earrings instinctively. Then cursing herself for it as he caught her do it. Damnit.(Outted, he knew she was Marinette AND Ladybug. She’s going to lose Tikki and Ladybug, isn’t she?)
Chat looked so… unsure as he clamored in, “I can show you once the fight is over.”
Marinette looked up at him, a bit defeated. He did always want them to know… in the month she’s known him at least. But she’s the leader, she follows the rules and she makes the plans. She figures out the Lucky Charm. Chat… will have trouble, especially on his own. Tikki would know what to do. They… She needs Tikki.
“Can you put them on me first?”
Chat did as asked, careful not to linger. “There.”
Tikki reappeared in a flash of light, only focusing on her chosen. “Oh Marinette!” She flew over, wide eyed concern “Are you al—”she cut off at the sight of Chat Noir.
“Tikki,” Marinette began. “Remember that boss you mentioned?”
Tikki nodded stiffly, eyes darting between the two.
“I need you to find him and let him know I can’t finish this battle.” She couldn’t stand, couldn’t make a fist, couldn’t be Ladybug. “We need help.”
Tikki nodded, looking at Marinette’s earrings. Oh… she needs these back (to pick someone better.)
Marinette angled her head to give Tikki better access, letting her kwami—her friend--take them off and hold them in her paws. Tikki flew to the window, then stalled.
She turned Marinette with a steeled resolve. “I’m coming back for you Marinette.”
Marinette nodded, knowing that there would have to be some sort of talk. She is (was) Ladybug, she knew too much to be left alone. She wondered briefly if she’d just become some sort of aide to her replacement. (Would Chat be replaced too?)
Tikki turned to Chat next. “Chat, keep them distracted until the Guardian selects your allies for this akuma.” Her tone left no room for questions.
Chat nodded stiffly, then bolted out the room like it was a poison. (Did she disappoint him because she’s her, or because she messed up? Why else would he run like that?)
Marinette was escorted out of St. Bridgette’s once the battle was over the next day, the worst of her injuries healed. (Mr. Bug’s ‘Miraculous Mr. Bug’ isn’t as strong as her Miraculous Ladybug. She won’t need skin graphs anymore, but she can’t do any fine motor skills for a few days. She counts herself lucky there, and hopes that her work in fashion won’t be hurt long term, that this is only a short term setback.)
Marinette managed to get her Parents to stop fussing over her when Chat showed up, offering to carry her the rest of the way given “Its my fault that building caught on fire, I lead the akuma that way.”
Maman and Papa wanted to argue, but Marinette jumped at the chance to be away from everyone acting like she was going to break. She wouldn’t.
“So Purrincess,” Chat flashed a smile as he held out a familiar box once they were well away from prying eyes. “I believe these are much more your color than mine.”
Marinette could have cried. She almost did.
Then her phone went off. Ladyblog alert.
“Its your favorite Ladyblogger, and boy do we have a… strange akuma for you today. This time we have a pile of goo. Ladybug, hope you’re better today, Mr. Bug, if you could show up sometime soon, that would be great. I don’t want to know what goo-boy here is able to do.”
Chat panicked.
Marinette didn’t. “Go. I can make it the rest of the way.”
And she was, just fine. This is her city after all. (And she’s still Ladybug. She’s so, so glad she’s not losing Tikki.)
She did underestimate the possibility she’d be snagged into a van in an alleyway of all things. To be fair, her assailant was much shorter than her eye level, and it was an ambush. Plus, no Tikki and her hands are still Not Cooperating.
“Usurper.”
There was a sword at her throat.
Held by a child.
Dressed up as some last minute ‘traffic light personified’ with weapons.
Did she mention the sword at her throat? Or that she was pinned in the backseat? By a child.
“I see Father created another loin-minion before me,” the boy raked his eyes over her. “A failure, for sure.”
Marinette’s mind raced. She didn’t get why this was happening. Was this some akuma? No, Hawkmoth never does akumas back to back, and they have ‘goo-guy’ right now. Then maybe this some new villain Ladybug would have to handle? She and Chat have their hands full with one—actively cool with kidnapping already. But the Father thing… That was off.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
The sword pressed a bit at her throat, his… mask. His mask somehow narrowed. What the hell. “Father, one of the greatest warriors in existence who will finish my training.”
“I have no idea who you’re talking about. My parents are bakers.”
The sword moved back just a bit. His face became more neutral, enjoying this less now. “I see. You were not even trained then, Father discarded you.”
This Father—whoever he was, sounds like someone Marinette would very much never like to meet.
“It was wise of him; you did manage to get injured in a place this peaceful.” Marinette wanted to laugh at that. Daily akumas are not peaceful. “You would have died in Gotham easily. You are unfit for consideration as one of Batman partners.”
Marinette took a deep breath then as the sword was taken from her completely. Batman. Batman is this kid’s dad? That ‘is the night’ guy that showed up in like, one picture of the Justice League? That’s who’s daughter she is. She was going to politely block the last words he said from her mind until a later date, as uh, she was closed adoption with a note stating her father would be a hazard to her own safety if she sought him out, so she should not bother looking. And she didn’t plan to.
Apparently life decided to throw that whole ‘don’t look into it’ thing out the window.
“Look,” Marinette did her best to appear non-threatening. Weak—Maman did say its better to have opponents underestimate you. They slip up more that way, give you more openings. “I don’t plan on getting between any partnerships.” And she just found her way to get out of this. “But uh, isn’t there a Robin already?”
The boy scowled. “A mantel I will soon be rightfully claiming.”
Right… she’d have to ask Sabrina to pass on a tip for her to Gotham through international lines about this… and get her not to say anything… she’ll ask mom for some lemon baba au rhum and comté gougère to get her to not ask any questions. Either way, the kid had a new target, and she was not relevant to his goal if she kept talking.
“Well, I have no interest in Gotham, Batman, or anything related to them…well except fixing their fashion sense.”
The murder Robin Impersonator glared at her, almost unsheathing his sword. “Is that a threat?”
And that backfired. Good going.
“No, no, I promise,” Marinette gestured with her hands. “No contact on my end with him or his friends. And as a bonus, on the off chance they try,  I’ll tell them leave and give up nothing they don’t already know.”
“Tt, see that you do.” The boy got up and opened the door for her to leave.
Marinette scrambled to leave, bewildered when the car drove off as… it was only the two of them in there…. of course Murder Robin Impersonator would drive.
She made it home, and found a note next to Tikki’s box. It said on the other side there was a picture of Chat’s secret identity, to make it fair. She put on her earrings, and looked with Tikki.
Marinette really wanted to scream, because she’d been through a lot in the last twenty four hours. Finding out the partner that she sees as a baby brother and only recently managed to get to stop confessing to her at every meet-up is also her civilian crush was not a revelation for this point in time.
Worry about the revelation of being Batman’s long lost daughter was gone in the face of reconciling Adrien as Chat Noir, and mourning the end of her crush.
And then freaking out over Tikki mentioning her needing to meet the Guardian and begin training. Her life was weird—she transforms into a superhero daily, somehow ended up getting the attention of two major faces in fashion—Gabriel Agreste and The Style Queen, Audrey Bourgeois—ended up working for Jagged Stone as one of his designers (he even hired someone to do the stitch work for his pieces so she can keep focusing on school) and ended up in a Clara Nightengale video (and now gets emails from her friends asking her to be ladybug in commercials. Help.) and ended up saving Prince Ali and somehow fell into a weird friendship with him. All on top of class representative duties, Guardian training, helping her parents (and Grandpa and Master Fu) run their business while setting up her boutique online for commissions.
So excuse her if she forgot to tell anyone about the Murder Robin Impersonator threatening her, or the whole daughter-of-Batman thing for a few years until Aquaman showed up. She’s only human.

hope you enjoyed this installment. part 2 here

A goat walks into a Bar
This is my Witcher Secret Santa gift for the @thewitchersecretsanta event, my fic is for @martianapplecrumble I hope you enjoy and Happy New Year! <3
A Goat Walks Into A Bar
Lambert fumbled with his keys as he unlocked the back door to his brewery. It was far too early to open, but someone had to check on the latest batch of applejack and to look over the ledgers to ensure that the bar was ready to open that night. Slipping into the warm building he curses the fact that his truck doesn’t ever seem to get warm enough and that his business partner Aiden refuses to work mornings. Lambert started his morning off in the usual way, going over the previous nights inventory logs and checking up on the distillery that was attached to the bar. As he wandered to the front of the bar, there was a strange noise at the front door a scraping sound followed by a bump and more scraping.
Opening the front door Lambert peered out into the empty parking lot and startled as a small goat brushed by him and wandered into the bar. Now, Lambert knows that one of the buildings down the road has a small pen out back with a few goats and chickens but a goat wandering into his bar like it owned the place was a very new and unexpected occurrence. Closing the door against the cool winter air Lambert scrambled to see where the little goat had run off to. A minute later he found the goat behind the oak counter of his bar, nibbling contently on a piece of celery that had fallen off the counter the night before. Now that he had found the goat Lambert had no idea what to do, he didn’t want it wandering through his lovely bar causing chaos and potentially trying to eat the furniture, but the goat also needed to be out of the way before people arrived for lunch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
           Meanwhile Eskel was panicking. He runs a small but credible animal rehabilitation center and a new volunteer had left one of the goat pens unlocked the night before. Usually this wouldn’t be a problem, however the unlocked pen in question belonged to his little herd of pygmy goats which housed his favorite goat, Lil’bleater. The primary problem with that is Lil’bleater had made it her life goal to be a professional escape goat shortly after he adopted her. After assuring himself that she was the only goat who had decided to escape the warm, dry pen, Eskel finished feeding the little goats and locked the pen. Now he was faced with actually finding the sweet terrible little goat who was usually out trying to steal the chicken’s food. Finding the chicken coop empty of goats and no sign of the little goat anywhere else on the property he had to consider the fact that Lil’bleater may have wandered off further than he first thought. Eskel’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the rescue’s phone ringing inside the building. He skidded through the door and grabbed the phone just in time to pick it up and greet the caller, “Kaer Morhen animal rescue this is Eskel speaking, how can I help you?” The reply was quick to come
“Hi, this is your neighbor, Lambert at Tequila Mockingbird. I opened to front door this morning to find a little white and brown goat who wandered into my bar. Would you happen to know whose goat it is?”
Eskels heart soared in relief as the worry for his favorite goat evaporated. “Oh, thank the goddesses! That’s Lil’bleater, one of our newer rescue goats she escaped sometime last night, and I’ve been looking for her all morning! I’ll be over to pick her up in just a few minutes if that’s okay with you, I’m so glad she’s alright! She has a tendency to escape and she seems to have gotten bolder in where she wanders”.
“ Thank goodness she’s yours, I have to open the bar by 11:30 for lunch and I don’t think I could run a bar and babysit your goat at the same time, I also know nothing about goats so the sooner you can pick her up the better”.
“I’d definatly be hard to run a bar and manage goats, I’ll be over as soon as possible to pick up Lil’Bleater, just try to keep an eye on her till I get there”.
“Okidoik, but if she eats any of the furniture in here someone other than me has to pay for it”.
           With that the phone line clicked off and Eskel was hopping into his beat-up truck about four seconds later. He was usually nervous when meeting new people because they tend to judge him based on his scars and his strong build. He’s tall and bulky in the way that lots of heavy farm work makes people and that make some people nervous around him. Today however he didn’t have time to feel nervous around the absolute relief that his little escape goat would soon be home safe. The drive to the bar felt like it took forever even though it was barley five minutes down the road. As Eskel pulled into the parking lot he couldn’t help but wonder which of the bar’s owners Lambert was, he had seen both of them at one point or another as they set up the bar a few months previously but he had never actually had the time to introduced himself to them. Eskel steeled himself as he knocked on the door, anxiously waiting for Lambert to open the door.
<><><><><><><><><><><>
           Meanwhile Lambert was attempting to take inventory of the bar and keep a determined little goat out of the fridge at the same time. The adorable little goat was trying to eat everything that it could see which makes counting beer cans and the other odds and ends in the bar much more difficult than it should be. Ten minutes later a blessed knock comes  from the front door and Lambert rushes to the door to greet his savior.
           The door to the quaint little brewery is thrown open, and Eskel is suddenly face to face with a very handsome and slightly flustered man. Lambert is a full head shorter than he is but seems to have a solid build. There was a long quiet pause as both men looked each other over before Lambert finally broke the silence.
           “You’re Eskel Right”?
           “Yeah, on the phone you said that you had found Lil’Bleater”?
           “I think she found me, she wandered right in the door this morning and I’m glad that you were available to come get her. Follow me”.
           With that Lambert had turned around and disappeared into the bar. Eskel hurried to keep up with him and found himself examining the dark but stylish bar. The bar itself was only half lit as it wasn’t open yet but seemed like a welcoming space. Lambert strutted behind the bar and Eskel peaked behind the bar to see his little rascal of a goat happily sitting there. Eskel also noticed how attractive the bar owner was. A head shorter than himself and showing off just muscled enough arms to prove that owning a bar had some heavy labor involved, Lambert was Eskel’s type through and through. He had to shake his head to clear those kinds of thoughts and he hurried to Lambert’s side to clip a harness and a leash onto Lil’Bleater.
           “Thanks so much for looking after Lil’Bleater for me! I’ll try to make sure she doesn’t escape again and I’m terribly sorry for bothering you this morning” Eskel spewed in a quick fountain of words.
           “It’s no problem”  Lambert muttered, “In fact since she’s out of here before lunch she didn’t even really interrupt my morning, she actually made it better. It’s much more interesting to meet you than it is to open the bar”. The two wandered back too the front door of the bar, Eskel watching Lil’Bleater closely to ensure that she doesn’t try to escape her harness. At the door, there is a second of awkward hesitation as they both look at each other. As Eskel reaches for the door handle, Lambert thrusts a business card out towards him.
           “If your interested you should call me… I’d like to get to know you better. Of course its no pressure if you aren’t interested, but please think about it” Eskel slowly takes the card and grins.
           “Yeah! I’ll definitely call you; we could get coffee sometime next week or something like that”.
           “That sounds great, you have a safe day and look after your little runaway! I look forwards to seeing you soon” Lambert beamed and watched as Eskel corralled his little goat into his truck and trundled off towards his home.
<><><><><><><><><><><>
           The two met up for coffee the next week, then to watch lacrosse at Lamberts bar then for dinner and movie dates galore. Before they knew it the two were introducing each other to their families, explaining the ridiculous coincidence of a goat deciding to walk into a bar.
(WIP) The Daughter by Laika_the_husband  (10k words) - A sequel. So spoilers. Even’s daughter appear in the previous fics but not as much. Continues from the series, A Dove, a Snake, a Ghost and a Madman. And what an excellent series this is.
Quitting You by Laika_the_husband (65k words) - A sequel. So spoilers. From the series, Because of You I'm Nothing, I'm Nowhere. Isak Valtersen is a happy stay-at-home dad of his baby girl, taking care of his new home in Belgium. His peaceful life as a domestic god gets turned upside down, when his deeply buried desires are suddenly forced to resurface. It is simple enough to find someone on Grindr, but when that someone is painfully familiar, things can get complicated. Another excellent series.
I Can Hardly Breathe by Flatfootmonster (82k words) - This fic, man. Isak gets hired to be the nanny? for Even and Sonja’s kids. This fic is just absolutely amazing.
