Ben Hargreeves x fem! reader
Ben is alive in this story and is 1-2 years older than reader (or the same age), reader is 19-20 in this story. (Or you can choose whatever age you want) and this is not edited so there will be lots of mistakes.
Tumblr media
Y/n's pov:
I plopped down on my bed as I sighed heavily. My mom just yelled at me and started an argument and now I'm grounded, she took my phone and ugh I just hate this. I grabbed my laptop and sat up against the wall side of my bed. I logged in my account and went on my messages. Since I can't use my phone I'm using my laptop to talk to Ben, my best friend.
"hey ben, got grounded again 🙄. I'm using my laptop to talk to you rn but can we hang out? like maybe go to Griddys?" I typed and sent the message.
A few minutes later I got a notification
"hey y/n! Sorry, I was talking to klaus but of course, I can pick you up in 10 minutes?" Ben replied
"okay, see you 😋" I closed my laptop and changed into some sweatpants and a t-shirt/hoodie. (or wtv you wanna wear)
I tried my hair and checked the time and went outside to see Ben in the driveway, waving. I walked up to the car and opened the door to the passengers seat.
"hey y/n, what's up?" Ben asked at he pulled out of the driveway and drove to Griddys.
"nothing, just stressed really," I put both of my legs up so my knees up to my head and I crossed my arms over them as I leaned closer to the window.
"oh okay" he replied.
I closed my eyes and took a quick minute nap until the silence got interrupted by ben, "we're here" ben told me. "mk" I mumbled and got out of the car as Ben did. Ben opened the door for me as I walked in before him.
Ben and I sat down at the chairs in the front. I sighed as I put my arm out and rested my head on my palm. Agnes walked up to us, "the usual?" She asked since Ben and I come here alot. "Yep" Ben replied while we both nodded our heads. Agnes walked away to get us our donuts and a drink.
"So, what exactly happened?" Ben asked me as I sighed and turned my head towards him and put it down in my arms.
"My mom started yelling at me because I'm lazy, always on my phone, laptop etc, and then she started this whole argument and I 'talked back' when I didn't even talk back! And then she took my phone away again!" I rolled my eyes and paused as I sat up and faced him. "Oh! And I even responded in a nice tone, I didn't even raise my voice! Ughhh" I groaned as I ran my hands through my hair.
Agnes put our food in front of us and we thanked her.
"Damn y/n, you need to move out or something, you're an adult now, you can choose whatever you want." Ben mentioned to me.
"hm whatever" I said while chewing my donut.
(JELLY POWDERED DONUTS OMG 😍)
(Time skip)
After talking and eating, Ben and I were walking out of Griddy's to his car.
"can I move in with you guys?" I asked while looking at Ben.
"Of course, I'm sure the others will love for you to move in." Ben told me.
"okay" I chuckled as we both got in the car. (IDK TO LAUGH OR NOT IDK JUST SAY YOUR SENTENCES HOWEVER YOU WANT, IM AWKWARD)
I crossed my legs in my seat and and closed my eyes. "Can we go to my house really quick to pack my bags?" I opened my eyes and looked at Ben. "So soon? Sure, I'll text the others" Ben told me. "okay" I pulled out my phone and scrolled through tiktok. We arrived at my house and I took out my keys and opened the door. My mom was at work and my sister was at school so no one was home.
(sorry if you don't have a sister or siblings)
We went to my room and I plopped down on my bed, "did you ask the others yet?" I asked Ben, "yeah, they said you can move in" "yay!" I jumped off my bed and pulled out my suitcases and backpacks and played some music. Ben went through my drawers and put some clothes in a suitcase while I put my other clothes hanging up and other stuff in there.
I didn't need to tell my mom I'm moving out because I told her countless times that I'd move out one day and possibly stay with a friend or the hargreeves, until I could get enough money for my own house, maybe.
After we talked, danced, sang, and packed my stuff I took the back packs down as Ben held the suitcases. We put some of the stuff in the car and had to go back in for other stuff. I sighed as I dropped down on the ground as I panted heavily.
"that was so much work, I'm sweating so bad," I drank my water and put an ice pack behind my neck. "Eh not so much, you're just weak," he laughed. "hey! I am not weak!" I remarked. "Yeah whatever, get inside, we need to get back cuz it's getting late." Ben spoke. "Is it hot in the car?" I asked while looking at him, "no, it's cool, come on!" He responded. I sat up and sighed as I opened the door and sat in the car. "Oh my goodness! It's so nice in here," I said as I rested my head back on the headrest.
Ben stopped outside the academy and we got out of the car and we took some stuff in. I opened the gates for Ben and we got inside the house.
"Hey guys! We need some help here!" I yelled
Luther came down the stairs as he looked at us, "what's going on?" Luther asked us. "Y/n's moving in, you heard right?" Ben explained. "Ohh right, gotcha" Luther responded, "anyway, we got a bunch of stuff in the car, could you get it please?" I asked Luther.
Right after Luther went out of the Academy, the others soon came down.
"oh hey y/n!" Allison exclaimed and hugged me. "hey allison," I said. We pulled away and I whispered "I'm moving in!!" "Yay!!" We jumped.
I said hello to the others and they all helped getting the stuff from the car and helped me settle into my new room. We got all the stuff in there.
"Wow, I'm dead" Ben sighed.
(get it? OKAY SORRY)
"yeah, this was tiring" I lay down on my bed. "it's like 12 o'clock" Diego mentioned, leaning on the door frame. "12?" Vanya said, "mhm," Allison responded. "wow, well thanks you guys for helping me move in here," I told them all.
"no problem y/n" Diego said
"mhm, well I'm going, bye" five spoke as he teleported away.
After saying good night Ben stayed last. "Hey ben, can u set up my bed please, my pillows and blankets are in that thing," I asked pointed at the bag with my sleeping stuff in it.
"yeah" Ben took the stuff out as I rolled down to the floor and just lay there.
"there," Ben told me. "Thanks, I'm so tired omg" I sighed as I immediately fell down to my bed and got under the covers. I was that tired that I immediately started snoring in a deep sleep.
"well, goodnight night y/n" Ben whispered as he walked up to my sleeping form and moved my hair out of my face to kiss my forehead.
(I AM SO TIRED SO I JUST DECIDED TO FINISH IT HERE, I CAN TRY TI MAKE MORE PARTS LATER, BUT I HOPED YOU ALL LIKED ITTT <33)

Tumblr media
( pairing ) : ben hargreeves x reader
( about ) : inspired by s3ep8 — ben wants to know what was so special about the old ben. the reader lets him know that they’re not so different.
( warnings ) : some angst, profanity
( words ) : 1800
( note ) : i wanted to write a multichapter fic but i literally can’t commit to anything so here’s one if my fav ben scenes this season! hope you enjoy! (and i’m really sorry if it’s a little specific for an x reader. i haven’t written anything in about a year and i used to strictly write x oc fics. but appearance-wise, there aren’t any descriptions, so feel free to imagine whomever you’d like)
It’s weird to see Klaus all chummy with Reginald. They’d always had so little in common, so you wonder how messed up the timeline has to be for the two of them to suddenly form this weird bond. It seems like a lot of things are different here, but that’s not your main concern right now.
Klaus is on a mission. You’ve watched him strike up a conversation with nearly everyone in the room and, not only is it killing the mood, it’s also alarming. If there was anything you learned about him growing up, it was that he couldn’t be stopped once he’d made up his mind about something. And, so far, he seems dead set on convincing everyone to accept Old Reggie into the family.
It’s a lot easier said than done.
Your eyes follow him as he walks over to Ben, alone at a table now that Allison has abandoned him. He’s sulking, more so than usual, with a plate full of shrimp and a half-empty bottle of wine. Even from across the room, you can see his brows furrow and his bottom lip jutted out. It was a classic Ben expression, very predictable considering he was at a party. He never did like big events. It’s small similarities like that you find endearing.
You watch him and Klaus bicker back and forth for a few minutes, a sense of nostalgia setting in. They used to do this all the time. You could almost pretend that this was normal, that Ben had lived until this moment, to attend Luther’s properly-timed wedding as if you aren’t waiting for the world to end. Again. It isn’t until Ben throws a shrimp at Klaus that you decide to intervene.
“Play nice, children,” you tease.
“Y/N!” Klaus claps, like some kid exited to meet a favorite celebrity or hero. “I’m so glad you could join us!” He nudges Ben’s foot under the table, a gesture he most certainly does not appreciate.
“What are you up to?” You narrow your eyes suspiciously.
“Oh, we’re just taking a stroll down memory lane. My memories, of course. Our new buddy-roo seems pretty interested in our lovely, lovely brother. You know, his more pleasant look-alike?” Ben looks like he’s about to explode.
“Klaus, play nice,” you remind him. “We’re at a wedding.”
“Oh, you’re no fun! You’re not even drunk, Y/N!”
“Well, someone has to keep you kids in line. Can’t have you setting the Hotel on fire just as we’re sucked into some weird black hole, can I?” Klaus whines.
“Okay, okay! But if I can’t have any fun, you can deal with Bitchy-Benny over there. I don’t think I’m drunk enough to deal with him for the rest of the night.”
“Well, you can’t just leave.” You try your best not to sound panicked because you do not need to be left alone with an overly-intoxicated Ben right now.
“Eh, I’ll see what Vik is up to, maybe congratulate the newly-weds some more. Oh! Maybe Five will let me sing another duet with him!”
“No, no. Klaus, please—“
“Have fun! Don’t do anything I would do!”
“You son of a—“ Your voice trails out as Klaus continues his… well, whatever he’s doing. You force your eyes away from him, ending up face-to-face with very irritable company.
Ben glares at you through half-lidded eyes, his face held in his hands.
“What?” you snap. “Is it past your bedtime?” You look around the room, hoping for an opportunity to escape. Maybe you could clean up that table over there, or help with the music selection. Five already downed half of the champagne, maybe you should get more—
“Why do you hate me?” You turn your head back so fast you think you might have pulled something in your neck.
“Why do I… what?”
“All you idiots talk about is the other Ben and how he’s sooo much nicer. You all act like he’s the best. What about me? Why don’t you like me?”
Oh, God. This isn’t happening. He couldn’t honestly be asking you to compare them, not now. Not when you’ve managed to bottle up every nasty thing you have to say about him. This was supposed to be a fun night.
“Are you serious?”
His jaw shifts and his lips press into a frown.
Oh, it’s happening.
“Well, you’re an insufferable bastard.”
“Okay, but you like the other Ben.”
“Yeah, we love him.” He whines, unsatisfied with the answer. It’s like arguing with a child who asks too many questions.
“Why? What was so special about him?”
“He wasn’t an insufferable bastard.”
“But Klaus said he was a know-it-all.” You hum in agreement.
“A smartass.”
“A scold!”
“Worse than anyone I know.”
“Like— like a dark cloud on a perfectly sunny day.” You figure he’s quoting Klaus. The description sounds weird when he says it, like imagery shouldn’t be his preferred method of expressing things. That’s unexpected, considering the old Ben loved to draw. He could see the world differently, through the eyes of an artist, something you never really understood.
“Yeah, he was always a bit emo. I don’t think he would have ever outgrown it, honestly. I mean, look at you.”
“So what’s so good about him? All of those sound like bad things.”
“Yeah, but they looked great on him.”
“He sounds like a jackass.”
“Well, you have that in common, don’t you?”
“So how come I don’t deserve what he gets? Why is it so easy to like him but not me? If he was so insufferable, what makes him any different from me?”
He’s upset. Well, he always is. But this is different. Ben sounds vulnerable and panicked. His voice sounds hurt and it feels wrong. Asshole or not, in this universe or the next, seeing Ben fall apart is just wrong.
“That was just how he was.”
“So he’s just naturally an asshole but everyone loves him anyway! How is that fair? Dad thought I was good enough to be Number One. I’m so much better than him! Why do you still like him better than me?”
Underneath the part of him that isn’t so desperate to claw his way to the top, you find something familiar. You hear the old Ben who, as a kid, was so eager to find his place — the one who hated missions with so much passion but obeyed every order Reginald had to give. It’s heartbreaking to watch him fall apart all over again when you couldn’t even do anything to help him the first time.
That’s when you feel every bad thing you’ve ever thought about him dissipate. Reginald Hargreeves is tearing Ben apart again, and you’ll be damned if you make the same mistake twice.
“It’s because you’re not Ben.”
“I know that! Everyone’s always telling me that.”
“No, I mean you’re not… you.”
“But I am! You just don’t think I’m good enough!”
“Ben Hargreeves, get that bullshit out of your head,” you say, fuming. “Nobody decides whether you’re good enough or not. Nobody but you. I meant, you’re not yourself because you’re too busy trying to be Number One. You’ve spent your entire life doing every single thing Reginald tells you to do, and you think you have to keep it up all the time. News flash: you don’t.”
“That’s easy for you to say. You have a family.” His voice gets quieter. “The academy is all a have.” Your head leans to the side, subconsciously challenging the statement. You don’t mean to, but it’s almost an instinct to prove him wrong.
“Is it?”
“Yeah, or it was. Because now they’re dead. All that’s left is Sloane and Dad, but you stole them. You… it’s just me, now.”
“They haven’t been stolen from you. They’d just rather find people who care about them than be alone. You know, you’re welcome to do the same.”
“No, I’m not. They hate me.” He mumbles. “They didn’t even invite me to that stupid bachelor party.”
“They don’t hate you. They love you. It’s just… this isn’t you. You’ve been so busy proving yourself worthy of being Number One, you stopped being Ben. And we want the real Ben, not the one who’s constantly forcing himself to be someone he isn’t.”
“But I’m not your Ben. It wouldn’t matter if Dad was here or not because I’m never gonna be your Ben.”
“You are,” you assure him, and you believe it. “You’re always going to be my Ben.”
“We’re not the same.”
“You don’t have to be!” you say, louder than you meant. “I don’t need you to be a shitty dancer or to sing in the shower like you want to shatter the bathroom mirror.”
“Good! Because I don’t!” he shrieks, outraged. Undoubtedly offended. You laugh because you know he’s lying.
“I don’t need you wipe my tears away after a bad day or let me clean the blood off your face after a bad mission. I don’t need you to buy me souvenirs every time you sneak out with Klaus or try to play every song I like on the piano by ear.”
“He did all that?”
“Yeah. He did. But I would have loved him anyway, if he didn’t.”
“Why?” His voice is desperate, pleading.
“Because there isn’t a single thing that wouldn’t make me fall in love with Ben Hargreeves.”
The silence hangs in the air, thick with tension. Ben frowns. You think the moment will end there. Maybe he’ll be offended, or worse, maybe he wouldn’t care at all.
“I would have done the same.”
He looks into your eyes, dark irises swimming with something you’ve never seen before. Not it this Ben, at least. It melts your heart just enough to flood your body with warmth. It’s like the sun peering through dawn.
“If I was your Ben, I would have wanted to do those things, too. For you.”
You let your heart bask in the moment, afraid to let go. This was, and is, Ben Hargreeves. He was the soft patter of rain above an empty house, the whistle of the wind across an open field — the reminder that life holds more than you and the isolated path you tread.
Ben Hargreeves is everything lovely about the world, and it’s a shame he’ll only grace it for the next few hours.
It is, perhaps, the greatest loss the universe will ever know.
You choose to make up for lost time right then and there, coaxing the corners of your lips into a smile. You unravel the knots in your heart and watch his face relax, a new day on the horizon.
Ben Hargreeves will spend the day getting to know love, the world be damned if you didn’t make sure if it.
“I think I would have liked that.”

Serial Killer on Loose
[The Umbrella Academy & Reader]
Summary : Basically, Hargreeves shenanigans.
Warning : Discussion over committing murder?
Tumblr media
“The infamous serial killer has escaped from prison—”
"Aren't they the one, Dad, caught?" Allison Hargreeves said. Tugging the attention of her siblings—all of whom with the exception of Five had been sitting in the basement kitchen together—towards the television screen.
"They escaped?" Diego spoke up just as Klaus remarked :
"Good for them."
"Klaus!" Ben chided. Hitting Klaus on the shoulder with his book.
"Guys, this could be serious," Viktor warned. Hands tugging at his jacket in a nervous gesture, he looked at his siblings. "They—"
"Viktor is right," Luther said, cutting Viktor off. "Let's not forget Dad was the one who put them in there. Their first target—"
"Could be Father dearest." Five sauntered into the basement, hands in pocket. "And quite frankly, in that case, they'd be doing us a favor."
He leaned against the couch, a derisive smile curling at his lips as he observed the looks on their faces. "No?" He raised a brow.
"Yes!" Klaus chimed. Shrugging at everyone's incredulous expression. "What? Are you guys saying you haven't thought about it even once?"
Silence enveloped them all in the face of truth.
"Well," Diego said, breaking the quiet. "At times, Dad's neck seemed like the best holder for my knives."
That was all they needed.
"I've grown poisonous plants in the greenhouse and thrown them away so many times."
"Granted, I've wanted to bash his head against the wall. Doesn't make it right—"
Five made eye contact with Klaus, sharing a victorious grin.
"Throwing hardcover books on his head until it turns into a pulp."
"Use my bow on his carotid artery as though it's a string."
Their heads snapped in the direction of Ben and Viktor. Brows raised in surprise at the violent methods they'd described, it was so unlike them to be this…severe.
"There's a limit to what one can endure," Ben stated, defensive.
Nodding his head, "What he said," Viktor agreed.
Allison held up her hands in surrender. "Fair enough."
They turned to Five, expectant.
He hummed. "Cutlery during dinner, his fucking whistle when we train, flower vases—" he started to count on his fingers, eyes squinting in consideration. "—the chandeliers, the gun in his study, the pen he scribbles with in his diary, his tie." He stared them in the eye, lips upturned. "All look positively inviting in his presence."
"Well damn," Diego huffed a laugh.
"Damn, indeed," Ben affirmed. Nudging Klaus with his shoulder, he questioned, "What about you?"
Klaus stretched, groaning dramatically. He sighed, gaze darting between his siblings, letting them stew in suspense for a few moments. "Waiting for you guys to act on your fantasies, of course." He grinned.
In unison, they groaned. Ben hit him with his book as Viktor facepalmed.
"Guys…" Luther, who'd been silent, finally, spoke up. Eyes scanning the room, he leaned towards the circle of his siblings. "Do you guys really want to…" He whispered, sounding almost scandalized.
"Want to what?" Allison prompted. "Neutralize the threat?"
"Dispose the garbage?" Viktor suggested.
"Do the world a favor?" Ben added.
"Have him mown down?" Klaus clapped, bouncing on the couch in eagerness.
"Commit homicide?" Diego proposed.
"Patricide would be the apt word," Five corrected.
"When has he ever acted like a father?" Viktor scoffed, shaking his head.
"Guys!" Klaus exclaimed. "He's got a word, especially made for him." He laughed, gaze flickering between his siblings as he stayed silent for the dramatic effect.
Diego rolled his eyes at his brother's antics. "Spit it out."
"Regicide!"
"That means killing a king," Ben said, exasperated.
"And it gives him far too much respect," Five stated further.
"King and him?" Luther joined in, surprising them all. "As if."
A beat passed.
Then they all burst into guffaws.
"Oh, Luther," Klaus intoned, wiping away a tear. "Look at you, all grown—"
It was at that moment that the lights went out, and the telephone started ringing.
………………………………………………………………………
A/N :
Saw this prompt, it was something along the lines of, "Serial killer on loose, except when they threaten the targets, the targets are like—'Alright, hurry up.' and they all turn out to be so traumatized that the killer ends up sitting them all down and acting like their therapist."
It's kinda like that, but with a twist. There's one more part. Anyways—
Hope you guys enjoyed this.
Thankyou! ❤️

WARNINGS: nope, just fluff?
PAIRING: Sparrow!Ben x reader
A/N: English isn't my first language sorry If I made any mistake :)
Reader is Lila's sister.
Second part
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
"Should this turn me on?" you asked Lila as you watched as Ben and Diego started swearing each other in their native languages.
"No" she replied quickly "Ben is a complete asshole" Lila mumbled, you sighed seeing how Ben walked away from everyone.
Ben was quite the specimen, a little arrogant, a true narcissist and a complete dickhead, but he was your type.
"i can fix him" you whispered low when Lila left following Diego and you decided to follow Ben.
If the end of world was near then you would finally make a move on Ben.
"That looks fun" you mumbled when you found Ben watching the bachelor party from afar, he frowned.
"It's stupid" he answered, liar .
"Of course, there are other ways to have fun" His gaze finally met yours, you smiled winked at him just like he had at the meeting.
"why don't they like me?" oh no, he was opening up his feelings, cute, but you weren't good at that stuff.
"Well, maybe because you've been a real jerk to all of them." Ben rolled his eyes, maybe you were right.
"listen" you caught his attention, god, he had a pretty face, you would kneel before him and it wouldn't be to pray.
"Maybe they don't like you, but I do"
Ben looked at you, no one had ever said that to him, not the way you said it, Ben liked you: you were sarcastic, sometimes cruel and kind at the same time, not to mention how pretty you were, he had been looking at your legs , you made him think bad with that miniskirt.
Did the room suddenly get hotter or was it just the sexual tension between Ben and you?
Ben looked at your lips as he ran his tongue over his upper lip and suddenly he grabbed your waist to put his lips on yours in a burning kiss.
sweet jesus
He was such a good kisser, you gasped when he bit your lower lip and slipped his tongue into your mouth, your legs trembled when you felt his body against yours, he was well built.
Ben was ready to take you right there and you would gladly accept it.
"oi! Squid boy stay away from my sister!" Lila's voice and the impact of a knife on the railing made you move away, Ben looked at you; his lips were swollen and his breathing was heavy, just like you.
He smirked looking at Lila and Diego.
"stay away from her, asshole" Diego threatened him, you rolled your eyes at the attitude of these two.
"Y/N, Diego and I have something to tell you" your sister said taking you to Diego "your vagina needs glasses" Lila scolded you making you laugh.
You turned your head and blew Ben an air kiss, he smiled and you smiled more when you saw him wink at you.
One thing was certain: You would end up between the sheets with him before the world ended.

sold | umbrella!ben hargreeves x reader
Tumblr media
summary : ben bought a book he already read and own after feeling a spark between the two of you.
A/N : this is based on this justin's tweet. please tell me what do you think of this one! it would really mean a lot to me if you do. pls excuse my bad grammar and writing, english isn't my first language. [GIF IS MINE]
Ben walked into the bookstore with his hand holding a cup of coffee along with a paper bag of croissants between his fingers. It's a miracle that the bag hasn't fallen out of his grasp yet, maybe those mornings with coffees and pastries from his favorite bakery downtown gave him a new useful skill.
He honestly wasn't planning on stopping by anywhere this morning, he needs to be present for a class today—he knows Dr. Jamison will absolutely be furious if he's late but he can't shake off the feeling of this newly opened bookshop that has been pulling him in ever since it opened last Friday.
It's not like he ran out of books to read or something, but it can't hurt to just explore and roam for a bit, can it? College has been stressing him out too, so might as well take some stress off.
Ben found himself walking towards the horror section, his eyes roamed through the dark-coded covers and grabbed the one that stood out. The cover was a pair of collided shadows of two girls facing off each other, the background was like the color of an old paper that had been left in the sunlight.
He flipped it to read the back of the book, but all he found was reviews of other authors. He sighed and went to put the novel back to its shelf but a voice from the other side of the room stopped him.
"The dead and the dark," said the voice behind him, "My favorite."
Ben turned around to find its owner and was met by your beautiful face. He spaced out for a while before shooting you a small smile. "What is it about?"
"Two girls went ghost-hunting to find their missing friends." you said, "Well—somewhere around that area, I could never remember the plot of a book that well." You chuckled.
Ben couldn't help but laugh along with the sound of your laughter. It leaves a nice and warm feeling in his chest and he never wants that feeling to go away. So he went on and asked, "Do you think you can give me any recommendations?"
"Sure!" you said, "What kind of genre do you like?"
"I love classics, but I don't mind reading any other genre."
You hummed, leading him to the fiction section and immediately found what you were looking for. You grabbed the book from the shelf and handed it to him, "I personally love this one."
Ben turned the book to read the synopsis as you explained the novel in your own way. He's read this before, but couldn't remember when. He turned it around to examine the cover and it finally clicked. He already bought this novel last month.
He wanted to cut you off and say that he already read it but the way you explained the plot of the novel with so much passion made that warm feeling in his chest sparks again. It was as if you're enchanting him with magic.
"I'm sold." he said with no hesitation before you can even finish. That earned a laugh and another smile from you that makes his heart swell in happiness.
Who cares if he already read the book and bought it again because something sparked between the two of you? It doesn't harm anyone—hell, he'd do it all over again if that means he'll hear your beautiful laughter again.

Think Of Me {Five Hargreeves x Fem!Reader}
Summary: You used to live next to the members of the Umbrella Academy and one day Sir Reginald enlists you as their playmate. Though you get along with all of them, you grow close to Five Hargreeves the most. Over time, you develop feelings for the boy and he secretly reciprocates them. However, one day you get struck with the news that Five left. Little did you know he actually jumped into the future. The years pass and he returns to 2019. The first thing he does is try to find you. After hearing about the show you're performing in, he goes to attend, because even after all this time, he's still in love with you.
Pairing: Five Hargreeves x Fem!Reader
Author's Note: Literally got hit with inspiration based off of this beautiful song from such an iconic musical. Thank you, Andrew Lloyd Webber. Though Five did jump forward in time and get stranded in the apocalypse, when he gets back he's the same age as you and the rest of his siblings. Also please disregard Raoul saying Christine's name in the song; it's just the lyrics (hence why I changed it below). Please feel free to reblog/comment! Thank you so much @shadowisbored for hearing me out on this idea!
Edit: We've made 216 NOTES?! I love you all so much!!!
Word Count: 885 words

The spotlight hit your face as you looked out. You felt overjoyed and happy, trying to steady the adrenaline coursing through your veins. It was hard though. The stage was where you belonged. You took a deep breath when you heard the first, soft notes of the piano and began to sing.
Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me every so often
Promise me you'll try
You heard your voice fill up the stage and listened to the music wash over the audience down below. However, your thoughts began to wander back to the same person it always did whenever you sung this: Five Hargreeves, The Boy.
On that day, that not so distant day,
when you were far away and free.
If you ever find a moment
spare a thought for me.
It's been over seventeen years since his mysterious disappearance and you didn't know where he was. You only knew he was gone. And that broke your heart. He was your playmate, your childhood best friend, and you never even got to say goodbye.
And though it's clear, though it was always clear
that this was never meant to be.
If you happen to remember,
stop and think of me.
Above all, you had developed feelings for him. He may have been arrogant, stuck-up, brash, and plain rude to his family, but to you he was the exact opposite. He was kind, down-to-Earth, intelligent, and laid back. The two of you formed a special bond that carried you through whatever life threw at your younger selves. But that was in the past. After all, he was a Hargreeves. A member of the famed Umbrella Academy. Sir Reginald enlisted you to keep his children company. He would have never encouraged anything romantic with them.
Think of August
When the world was green
Don't think about the way
Things might have been
Summer. It was the last time you saw Five. You were just getting home from a family trip when Allison told you he was gone. You felt like the ground gave way and you were free falling into an abyss. It was almost as if he took a piece of you when he disappeared. From then on, you realized he might never come back.
Think of me, think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me trying too hard
To put you from my mind
The years went by. And he never came home. Your grief and mourning for him slowly faded. You grew up and moved on. Or tried to move on. When you were eighteen, Sir Reginald let you go and you stopped going to the Academy. Though, that didn't stop the siblings from sneaking out at night to visit you at a nearby park. You appreciated them, but deep down you were trying so hard to push Five out of your mind. He was gone. Long gone. You couldn't do anything about it.
Think of me
Please say you'll think of me
Whatever else you choose to do
There will never be a day
When I won't think of you
You were an adult now. You went to university, got into your dream school, and here you are. Performing on some of the biggest and most famous stages of all time. Your childhood dream come true. The same childhood dream you told Five one night. And even now, you still wonder about him. If he's okay, if he's safe, if he's happy, if he's doing well, or if he's even…alive.
Can it be? Can it be y/n?
Long ago, it seems so long ago
How young and innocent we were
She may not remember me but,
I remember her
Little did you know, Five was sitting above in one of the boxes nearest to stage right. He had gotten back from the future not too long ago and basically demanded his siblings to tell him your whereabouts. All those years stuck in the apocalypse, not once did he stop thinking of you. You were the only thing keeping him going. Getting back to his family was one thing. But you? Getting back to you was his uttermost top priority. He watched you, noticing how beautiful you looked under the spotlight and how angelic your voice was. Even after all this time, he still loved you, and he knew a confession was long overdue.
Flowers fade
The fruits of summer fade
They have their seasons, so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
you will think
Of me
You finished the song beautifully, feeling pride and honor swell within you upon hearing the boisterous applause from the audience. Several bouquets were tossed onto the stage and one particular bouquet stood out to you the most as you gently scooped it up. It was a beautiful bundle of roses in shades of red, yellow with red tips, and yellow. A bouquet symbolizing love, friendship deepening to love, and happiness. You plucked the small card on it and opened it to see a hand-written message in cursive swirled on the paper:
I will always think of you
You softly gasped, looking up and out into the audience. Even though you couldn't see it, Five smiled down at you and blew you a kiss just before the curtain closed.

Just You and Me
Pairings — Ben Hargreeves x GN!Reader
Summary — Ben didn’t know how long he had left to live, he didn’t get to say everything he wanted to tell you.
Warnings — swearing, mild angst towards the end, mention of death, tell me if I missed any <3
A/N — this is my first official post on tumblr! I’m sorry to the ones who wanted the heavy angst but that’s not until part two (if you want a second part). This is a different writing style than what I’m used to, please give any constructive criticism. Y/n’s pronouns are they/them and Klaus’s pronouns are he/they.
Tumblr media
Being Reginald Hargreeves's child isn't easy. Constant training, missions left and right, it all seems endless and you'd never have a normal childhood. His children have several ways of coping.
Klaus sneaks out of the house to go to parties, intoxicating himself with liquor and weed.
Luther and Allison spend too much time together to forget and run away from responsibilities.
Viktor plays violin because he was convinced he was ordinary, powerless, and different from his siblings. This made him question why Reginald had him to begin with.
Diego distracted himself with anything he could. He would go out and look for conflict just so he could end it and save the day. He needed action, he needed something to keep his mind racing so he won't worry about his home and relationship with his father. He needed praise to feel validated, some would say he has and is experiencing some sort of hero syndrome.
Ben? He loved to paint and sketch. He would lock himself in his room for hours just to be alone to create art. There were papers taped to the wall, canvases hung from several of his works.
"I don't understand the craze with glazed donuts. I really don't." Klaus bit into a fresh jelly donut, rolling his eyes back as he savoured the flavour that exploded into his mouth.
The children escaped again.
They snuck out to have donuts and coffee. It was tradition, and somehow they get away with it. Every 12th of the month at 10:00pm they would leave the house and walk to Griddy's Doughnuts.
"Glazed donuts are amazing. They're simple yet sweet," Ben defended his regular order, taking small bites to properly enjoy the donut while he watched Klaus finish his in two bites.
"That's disgusting." Allison laughed, eying her sibling.
"What's wrong with it?" Klaus licked their fingers, downing their cup of coffee all in one. "It's less messy that way."
"No, it isn't!"
Ben began to slowly drown out the sounds of his siblings arguing. His attention made its way across the cafe, his gaze falling upon a teenager who sat alone at a booth. He could've sworn he's seen them before, he could've sworn they met, but at the same time, he knew for a fact that this was his first time laying his eyes on you.
"..Ben? Ben? Earth to Benerrino!" Klaus waved their hand in front of him and he finally snapped out of it when you looked back at him.
"Sorry?" Ben blinked a few times, looking at his sibling as he held his cup of tea in both his hands.
Klaus raised an eyebrow, looking back to see what Ben had been staring at. A smile was brought to his face when he turned back to look at Ben, eyes going wide. "Ben! You think that person is cute, right?"
"Shh! Shh!" Ben clasped a hand over their mouth, glancing over at the teenager to see if they heard.
And sure enough, you did.
"I'm flattered." You said, earning the attention of all six Hargreeves siblings. "Thanks, Ben."
Number Six seemed to stop working for a moment. His eyes widened as he stared at you in shock, face covered with a cherry red hue. "Y-Yeah. Yeah, you— yeah." He smiled and nodded, sipping from his cup as he turned away.
"Bennerino~" Klaus gave his brother a wink, sticking his tongue out as he paid for his snacks.
"Klaus!" Ben whisper-shouted, giving them a death glare as he finished his cup of tea. One after the other, each sibling finished, paid, and walked back home.
Ben couldn't help but spare a glance, looking back at you as he and his siblings exited the shop.
When he looked back at the path in front of him, he caught Klaus's stare in his peripheral vision. He gave them a scoff, rolling his eyes as he stuffed his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket, darting away before Klaus could annoy him with their bickering.

Being Reginald Hargreeves's child isn't easy. Constant training, missions left and right, it all seems endless and you'd never have a normal childhood. His children have several ways of coping.
Klaus sneaks out of the house and attends teenage parties while doping and drinking himself silly.
Allison and Luther spend inordinate amounts of time together letting their responsibilities slip their minds.
Viktor plays the violin because he believes he is unexceptional, weak, and distinct from his siblings. He knows he's different and every day he asks himself why Reginald chose to keep him, or why Reginald even took him in the first place if all Viktor ever got was neglect.
Diego tries to divert his attention from his family life in every way he can. He needs action to keep his mind active. He needs validation to keep going. He needs to be seen as a hero.
Ben creates art.
Ever since that day at the cafe, you didn’t leave his mind. He dedicated his free time to a new work of art. The inspiration was you.
His delicate fingers held the piece of charcoal in a gentle, yet firm grip. With every stroke, a distinct mark was left behind. He made each line unique from the one previously. His movements were smooth, not a muscle was tensed.
When he finished, he took a deep breath. The fresh oxygen from his open window filled his lungs before escaping his lips, dusting off the excess charcoal on the page. Ben smiled at his piece, gliding the tip of his index finger along the jawline of the teenager on the paper.
It was you, the one from the cafe.
He looked out the window. He watched as the sun painted the molten sky with various reds and oranges along with dashes of purple and pink. It was a work of art within itself.
He glanced over to the clock on his wall, then back out the window. He carefully rolled the drawing in his hands, stepping outside of the window and using his tentacles to make his way down onto the grass.
He looked behind himself, searching for any sign of life through the windows of the Hargreeves Mansion. When it was clear, he ran out of the gate.
Ben sat at Griddy's Doughnuts, a cup of tea placed in both his hands while a glazed donut sat in front of him on a ceramic plate.
"You're alone?"
Ben snapped out of his thoughts, looking at the owner of the voice.
"Yeah," he responded.
Agnus knew the Hargeeeves siblings would always come in packs, she found it strange how there was only one of them at the counter. "Are you okay? Did something happen?"
Ben smiled. "Nothing bad, no. Thank you for asking, though." He hadn't remembered the last time someone asked him if he was okay and meant it. The question was simple, but hearing the sincerity behind it was enough to make him smile.
He sat there and waited. The drawing was by the plate, and he began to ponder; he began to overthink. He hadn't talked to you and he already drew you. He didn't have bad intentions, but he didn't want it to come off as creepy. He began to have second thoughts, like he was doing something wrong.
Ben finished up his tea and donut. He grabbed the drawing and placed some coins on the table before leaving the cafe. His head was down, almost ashamed even though he did nothing wrong. He pushed the door open and collided with someone.
He gasped and dropped the piece of paper and watched it fly away in the subtle breeze. Before he got to react, someone grabbed it. He looked at the person and froze.
"Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." You sheepishly smiled. The paper was unrolled you looked at it.
"I am so sorry." Ben bowed down to show respect. "I know it might be creepy but I promise I'm not a creep. I mean no harm, I just- I just thought that you were—"
"Cute?" You recalled what Klaus called you.
Ben stood up straight, looking at you with cherry-stained cheeks. He said nothing, not denying nor confirming the assumption.
"That's what your brother said last week." You scanned the piece of art, a 'wow' falling under your breath before you handed it back. "You're talented. I can't even draw a straight stick figure. I envy you."
"You? You envy... me?"
"Yes."
"You don't think I was being creepy?"
"No, not at all."
"Are you sure?"
"Stop overthinking it, Ben." You took a step towards the door of the cafe. "I hope to see you around more often."
Ben stilled as the corners of his lips formed a smile. He nodded, then his expression dropped, watching you walk into the shop. "Wait! What's your—"
"Y/n."
Ben paused, "Y/n?"
"That's my name."
The smile returned to his face, "thank you."
You waved, finally walking through the doors and sitting at his usual spot by the window. You looked at Ben, an instant smile lit up your face when he looked back. You held a hand up and waved, earning a rather excited wave back. You began to wonder if you would ever get a moment with Ben, even if it was just to sit together and have coffee; as friends. "There's nothing wrong with having a glazed donut."
— ( ☂︎ ) —
"See, Klaus? Even Y/n agrees that glazed donuts are amazing." Ben defended his favourite treat, biting out of the freshly glazed donut.
"I said there's nothing wrong with a glazed donut. I didn't say they were amazing." It didn't take long for you to get along with the Hargreeves siblings. Especially when Klaus kept nagging Ben to invite you.
"Ha! Y/n agrees with me!" Klaus slammed his hand against the table.
"Hey, woah, woah. I didn't say that either!" You laughed along with the others, heart filled with joy and happiness. You didn’t remember the last time you hung out with other teenagers and felt like you belonged.
"Guys, we should head out." Allison said, "it's getting late. Ben hurry up, it's two more bites. Today is on me." She pulled her wallet out.
"I can pay for my own. Thank you, though, Allison." You only had a chocolate donut. You were smart enough not to have caffeine pumping in your veins before bed.
"You guys can go out, I'll meet you there." Ben looked at you, then Klaus. Klaus smirked back, to the point where their ears began to lift.
You thought you were included in the 'you guys', so you shuffled around to get your wallet back in your pocket. Ben noticed this and quickly took your wrist.
"Not you." He spoke firmer than he intended, "please." His voice softened as he let go of your wrist, bashfully looking at the bottom of his glass while he took another bite of his donut.
You locked eyes with him, then you fell silent, sitting back down with cheeks tinted pink. “Why me?”
Ben turned away again, it was just his timid nature, this boy can never keep eye contact for too long without freaking out. “I was wondering… maybe on Friday we could meet up again?”
“This Friday? I thought Luther had something important coming up. His personal training with your father? That poor guy is going to overwork himself all day…” you looked out the window to look at the Umbrella Academy’s number one. “So we’re just gonna leave him out? If he finds out he’ll be heartbroken.”
“No, uhm…” Ben tapped the edge of his cup. “I was actually hoping it would be us? Just you and me.”
“Just you and me?” Your eyes seemed to light up the second he spoke. The most foolish smile crawled onto your face as you nodded. “Yeah.”
“Yes?”
“Yes.” You nodded, “I would love that. Just you and me.”
Ben’s heart beat out of his chest. Oh, he was such a loser in love. He nodded frantically, finishing the rest of his donut quickly. He covered his mouth as he chewed, shy and polite. He then made his way outside.
“Ready?” Allison motioned for the others to follow her as Luther walked by her side, leading the siblings back to the mansion.
“I’ll see you! Friday at noon!” Ben walked with his siblings with a hand in his pocket, the other one waving goodbye.
“Friday! Noon!” You carried through with his energy and waved back. Then you turned on your heel and went home.
— ( ☂︎ ) —
“You’re not going to get in trouble, will you?” Your cup of coffee was finished about an hour ago. An hour ago was also when you and Ben agreed to go back home and call it a day. You didn’t even recall how the conversation kept going, but it did.
“I should be fine,” Ben glanced at the clock, then back at his empty plate that once had two donuts on it. His signature glazed donut and your vanilla-sprinkled one. You got a different donut each time you came. “Thank you for coming with me today.” Words couldn’t express his gratitude, “I’m not saying that I don’t like coming here with my siblings, it’s just… good to have a real friend.”
Your heart warmed at his words, “thank you for asking me out, Ben.” You placed a hand atop his. “I really enjoyed spending time together; just you and me.”
“Do you think…” he began, “..we can see each other again? Only if you want to, that is. There’s no shame in rejecting, I don’t want you to feel obliged to say yes or anything—“
“Yes.” You said with confidence, laughing at the way he began to ramble. “I’d love to, Ben.” You gently gripped his hand, “the second date is always better than the first.”
“Yeah,” he nodded, mind empty. All he focused on was the way you hand your hand placed on his. As seconds passed, the words finally registered. “Wait, second date? This— th-this was a date?”
You instantly took your hand away, “that was my impression. I’m so sorry if I assumed wrong. I should’ve asked.” You felt foolish. You felt as though you were making bold assumptions and you read him wrong. Your ego was making the decisions. “That’s embarrassing.” You laughed it off.
“No, no! There’s nothing wrong with this being a date!” Ben grabbed both of your hands, holding them with a delicate grip. “It actually makes all of this ten times better.”
“Really?” A wave of relief washed over you as you emitted a soft sigh. “I don’t want you to feel like you have to lie to spare my feelings. I was getting a bit too ahead of myself.”
“I’m not lying,” he brushed his thumb over the back of your hand. “I mean every word.”
Butterflies swarmed in your stomach. Never once has anyone made you feel this weak in the knees. “Thank you, Ben.”
“Just know that I would never lie to you. Ever,” he moved his hand, linking his pinky with yours as if he was a seven-year-old boy. “Promise.”
The gesture was so small, so childish, “alright, then.” But this pinky promise held a special place in your heart. “Promise.”
— ( ☂︎ ) —
“Can we just stay like this?” He sat beside you on top of a building with the city beneath you. “It’s so much better up here.”
“Don’t you have a training session with your father?” You looked at him, “and you can’t miss it because that’s how you’re supposed to spend the rest of your day?”
Ben didn’t return your gaze, he just looked down at his lap with his legs swinging back and forth on the edge, “..yeah.”
“And if you don’t show up, you’ll get in trouble and he’ll get mad.”
“I know,” his voice was barely over a whisper.
“So… you should go back. I don’t want you to get in trouble with your father.” You carefully took his face in your hand, tipping his head up to look at you. “It’s okay, Ben. I’ll be fine. You can go.”
“It’s just—“ Ben sighed, shuffling around to get comfortable now that he was facing you. “I don’t want to go. If I do, he’s going to make me kill again.”
“Kill?”
He nodded, “and I don’t want to keep doing it.”
You were at loss for words. You couldn’t tell him to ‘not go’, it was his father and he couldn’t just avoid him. You noticed how he began to tremble, his hands shook along with his quivering lip. “Ben.” You held his hands, “you can drop by my place after.”
“It’s going to be late. Your parents won’t notice?” His voice rose in volume, “I-I don’t want to get you in trouble. It’s an inconvenience. It’s fine, I’ll just see you next week. It’s fine, I’ll be fine.”
“I’ll keep my window open for you.”
“No, no. You don’t have to do that. I told you, I’ll be fine.”
“If you say so,” you rubbed your thumb over the top of his hand. “I’m still going to keep it open. Just in case.”
How did he get so lucky? If someone told him one month ago that he’d make a friend that cared about him as a person rather than a member of the Umbrella Academy, he wouldn’t believe you.
“Okay,” he shot you a smile.
That smile never failed to warm your heart. “Now get us down, Benny Boy.”
He slithered his arm around your waist and you secured your hands on his shoulders. Tentacles sprouted from his back and he safely took you down the building.
“I’ve got you,” he noticed how you held onto him with a deathly grip. “I’m not gonna let you go.”
“You better not,” you laughed, burying your face into the crook of his neck with closed eyes. You took a deep breath, taking in the comforting scent that lingered in his skin and clothing.
When he made it to the ground, he ran his fingers through your hair. “You can let go now.”
You reopened your eyes, looking at the boy. The proximity was close, breathtaking. “What if I don’t want to?” You thought out loud, realizing only when his tanned cheeks tinted red.
“Then that wouldn’t be so bad, would it?” You could feel his subtle breath on your skin.
You moved a hand from his shoulder to his chest, “your heart is beating a mile a minute.” You teased.
“Who’s fault is that?” He teased you back, leaning in closer. His eyes fixated on your lips for no more than a ninth of a second before looking back at your eyes.
“Mine,” you admitted with no shame. With every passing second, Ben inched closer to your face. You looked at his lips, then his eyes as you leaned closer to him.
“I’ve never done this before,” he whispered.
“Neither have I.” You matched his tone..
“May I?”
“May you, what?” You teased him once again.
Ben paused, his breath trembled and you felt it. “May I kiss you?”
“You may.”
“Ben!” The boy was taken away from your grasp. “Dad’s been looking for you! He’s not in the best mood today, Benerrino. You know to never keep the old man waiting!”
You couldn’t even say anything, Klaus had already run off with their brother. The only thing you got was Ben’s glance back. He looked as if he was apologizing with his eyes, a deep frown engraved on his face.
“Klaus!” Ben ripped his wrist out of their grip.
“You know how strict dad is. I don’t want him to get mad at you.” He looked back, he saw you turn and walk away. “Oh shit.” He whispered under his breath, “Ben, I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine.” His tone was sharp enough to kill. “Let’s just go see dad.”
— ( ☂︎ ) —
You haven’t left your room since you arrived home. You were still salty about the episode earlier with Ben and Klaus. You kept your word and left the window open in case Ben dropped by, but time was ticking.
11:11pm.
Curfew at the Umbrella Academy was two hours ago, so you assumed that Ben wasn’t coming. You swung your legs off the edge of your bed and slowly made your way towards the window.
“Y/n?”
“Ben?” You called out, moving your curtains out of the way. “Holy shit,” you held your hand out and helped him inside. “Careful, don’t sit on the bed.” You kept your voice in a low whisper.
He didn’t speak, he only nodded.
You rushed out of your room to grab a cloth then pulled the wooden chair from your desk when you got back. “Sit here, it’s okay. Just relax.”
“How do you expect me to relax?” His voice instantly broke as tears pooled at the bottom of his eyes. “I’ve been trying to relax, for- for the past two hours!” He was careful not to raise his voice too much.
“Are you hurt?“ You used the cloth to wipe the blood off his hands.
He shook his head.
“Did he hurt you?”
“Not physically.”
“Are you… okay?”
He shook his head, “not emotionally.”
Silence lingered in the air as you washed the blood off his skin. When you finished with his hands you went to his neck, then his face. You stopped for a moment, taking this time to cup his cheek. Ben leaned into your touch, shutting his eyes and placed a hand on top of yours. Tears silently trickled down his cheeks as he took in the comfort of your hand. You began to gently wipe the damp cloth over his blood-stained cheeks.
“Do you think I’m a monster?” He looked at you.
“No,” you stated with confidence, “no you’re not. You’re no monster. It’s not your fault. Your dad made you do it, you didn’t have a choice.” You reassured him the best you could. You’re okay now. You’re safe here.” You whispered sweet affirmations. “Thank you for choosing me, tonight.” When you finished, you placed the cloth on your desk. “I’m glad that you’re here with me, Ben.”
“Me too,” he moved away from your hand and stood up. His eyes didn’t leave yours, not once. “Can I have a hug?” A sob slipped past his lips with his words. You didn’t say anything, instantly leaning into his chest and wrapping your arms around him. He began to cry as he returned the embrace, crumpling your shirt up in his hands.
“I’m here, Ben. I’m not going anywhere.”
“You make me feel safe.” He whispered into your hair, “when I’m with you, the rest of the world melts away. Like nothing else matters but you and me.”
Those butterflies came back. They fluttered in your tummy with excitement and wonder.
“Hey, Y/n?”
“Yes?” You pulled away from the embrace but kept your hands on either side of Ben’s body. You didn’t want to let go of him, not yet.
“I’m really happy that you’re in my life.” He brushed a few strands of hair out of your face. “Being with you makes me feel stronger, and I wish you could see yourself the way I do. Because I can’t think of any word that comes close to the way you make me feel.”
You were at loss for words. You wanted nothing more than to hold him in your arms and keep him safe, away from his stupid excuse for a father. “I don’t know what to say.”
“It’s okay,” his hand rubbed your side. “You don’t have to say anything.” He looked at your lips, “you’re perfect.” His stare dallied before darting up into your eyes. “May I?”
“Yes,” you closed the gap, wrapping your arms around his neck as he engulfed your body with ease. In that moment, it was as if the world stopped spinning; like nothing else in the world mattered.
The kiss lingered, and Ben began to move his lips, slowly running his hands down your body. He held your hips in a soft grasp. Then he finally parted.
“Ben…” his name rolled off your tongue like a melody. You leaned in for another kiss, pushing him down on your mattress. He didn’t have time to react, toppling over with a giggle. “Please stay,” you gasped for air.
“Stay?” He kicked his shoes off and got comfortable on the bed, “are you sure about this?”
“Yes,” you gave him an extra pillow and laid next to him. “I want you to stay.” You snuggled up next to him.
“Hey, Y/n?”
“Mhm?”
“Can I be your boyfriend?”
Your smile lit up the dim room, “yes.” You gave him one last peck on the lips before closing your eyes to fall asleep. There was nothing more comforting than the feeling of his arms around your body, his hand running through your hair as you fall asleep.
But the next day when you awoke, he was gone.
— ( ☂︎ ) —
“Will you stay this time?” You asked for the millionth time as you laid on your boyfriend’s chest, taking a slow and deep breath as you shuffled around to get comfortable. “I want to wake up beside you this time.” The sleepiness was slowly taking over you.
“I’m sorry I didn’t stay,” Ben whispered, “I couldn’t risk my dad catching me out. It was only recently he stopped putting cameras in our rooms, if even one of us gets caught, all of us are busted.” He was truly sorry. He wanted to wake up by your side. He wanted to wake up with you in his arms. But he couldn’t risk getting his siblings in trouble.
“Cameras in your room?” Your voice was groggy, you didn’t even pay attention to what he said, you stopped processing what he said after ‘cameras in our rooms’. “That’s messed up,” your words were slurring together.
“Sleepyhead, just close your eyes and rest. You need it.”
“Mnn…”
The sound of your gentle snores filled the darkened room. He fixed his position, looking down at you while keeping you secure in his arms. His lips formed a frown as he moved bits of your hair out of your face. He planted a delicate kiss on your forehead, sighing deeply, “God, I love you…” if he got caught, his father would be furious. He knows that he’d be forbidden from seeing you, and he didn’t want to risk it. He got himself in a mess, a lovely, wonderful mess. Things would be so much easier if he didn’t love you, but he didn’t regret a single thing. He’d choose you over his father in a heartbeat.
12:00am.
He needed to get home, so he did. He carefully placed you down on the bed, properly bringing your blanket to your chin. “I’m sorry, Sweetheart.” He whispered, pressing another kiss on your forehead. “I have to go.” He spoke as though you were awake though you were fast asleep. He walked towards the window, watching as you got comfortable in your slumber. He stood by the window and stared at you. He didn’t move, he didn’t turn away, he just stared at you with pure love. You were the first to treat him right, the first to take care of him out of the kindness of your own heart, the first to truly love him, yet he always left before the morning. Not once have you woken up to him by your side. Did he deserve you.
— ( ☂︎ ) —
“Ben?” You approached him and he and his siblings walked out of Griddy’s Doughnuts. It was their monthly sneak-out plan and for the first time in seven months, you didn’t tag along. “Sorry to bother you, I was going to the library, and… this was close by.”
“Going to the library? This late at night?” His eyes went wide, “it’s dangerous. You don’t know what kind of creeps are out there.”
“I’m fine, Ben. Really, I–”
“Ben, let’s go,” Luther called out.
“I need to go.” He made his way past you, but you grabbed his wrist. He turned to face you, effortlessly prying himself from your grasp.
“Can we go out on Sunday? Nothing fancy, just here.” You looked at the donut shop. “Griddy’s Doughnuts. You get the glazed donut and I’ll get the one with sprinkles?”
He squinted as he listened to you. You were being oddly specific, and it worried him. “No, sorry, I’m busy this Sunday.”
“How about Tuesday?”
“Ben! Let’s go!” Allison shouted.
“I need to go,” Ben took a few steps away from you. “I’m sorry. I’ll see you around.”
“I’ll see you–” midsentence and he was running off. “...around.” You ended up going on Wednesday, but not to Griddy’s Doughnuts. Instead you and Ben crashed in your room for the day. The second he stepped through the front door, the atmosphere changed. You didn’t know what it is, but it was heavier. It was mildly uncomfortable and you could tell Ben felt it too.
“You should go home.” Now you were laying on his chest like you always did whenever he came. You two snuggled up with each other whenever the sun began to set, that hasn’t changed. But today is different: the elephant in the room didn’t want to leave.
“It’s nine. A little early for me to leave, don’t you think?” He muttered into your hair. “Let me stay.” He remembered how you used to always ask him to stay, and now you were the one pushing him away.
You shrugged, “I’m feeling tired. I’m going to sleep early tonight.”
“I’ll stay until you fall asleep,” he brushed the back of his hand on your cheek before holding it.
“You never stay, anyways. It’s fine. Just go.” You moved away from his touch.
That was a first.
“What’s wrong?” Something was in the air before, he knew something was wrong, he knew you knew something was wrong. He acted on it first.
“Nothing.” You dismissed it.
“Y/n, you know you can talk to me.”
You shook your head, pursing your lips as you felt the tears begin to form in your eyes. “We barely see each other anymore,” you muttered, “when we do it’s… awkward. It’s not the same as before.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry.” He shut his eyes, sighing heavily. “I should’ve talked to you earlier. Shutting you out probably wasn’t the best idea.”
“What’s going on, Benny Boy?”
“Us being together… is risky. Especially with my strict dad and all. I feel like I should’ve thought about that before foolishly asking you out.” He couldn’t bear to look at you.
“What are you…” your voice trailed off into utter silence. You looked at him, desperately wanting to meet his gaze. “...what are you implying?” The second those words left your mouth, you wished they didn’t.
“I love you,” Ben began. “I may be seventeen, I may be young, and people say kids like us don’t know what love is. But I know that I really, really love you. You’re the first to see me as who I am. Not just some boy with powers, not the boy in the Umbrella Academy, not Number Six, but you see me as Ben.” He glanced down at you for a moment, but he couldn’t stand that mere second of your pained expression. “I love you, Y/n,” he caressed your arm with his hand, “but if my dad finds out we’re together, he’ll stop us from seeing each other. I’m mistreating you, we don’t see each other as often as we used to because I’m playing it safe. It’s unfair, and you deserve better.”
“Ben, I can wait. I can wait as long as I need to. It’s okay. I don’t mind, I know you’re busy,” you sat up straight, hand gripping his bicep. “I can wait.”
“I don’t want to do this, but it’s better for us to take a break.” His heart sank the moment he finished, finally looking at you. “I’ll come back. When I’m eighteen I can get a bit more freedom. Then we can start seeing each other again.”
You turned away when he looked at you, shaking your head slowly as tears fell from your eyes. You didn’t want this, but you were mature enough to know that he was right. He was in the Umbrella Academy, he has powers, and he isn’t a normal kid. He’s different and you recognized that. You just wished that things were different.
“So… until you’re eighteen, we can’t talk?”
“I didn’t say that,” Ben reassured you, keeping you close. He didn’t want to let go. He felt that if he did, then he’d lose you for good. “I’ll still come by and visit. You can come to Griddy’s Doughnuts with me and my siblings. I’m still going to be here.” He pulled you for a quick yet passionate kiss. “I’m still going to be here, I promise.”
“You better be,” you laughed off your sadness, wiping the tears off your cheeks. “Just stay until I fall asleep. You can go home after.” You closed your eyes and snuggled up to his body warmth. “I love you, Ben.”
“I love you too,” he took slow deep breaths, adjusting his posture for better comfort as he held you.
— ( ☂︎ ) —
You haven’t seen him in two weeks. Not a word from Ben. You kept your window ajar and the lock flipped up. You gave him opportunities to see you, but he hadn’t taken any of them yet. You tried to understand, but you didn’t expect any of this to happen. He promised he’d still be there, but you hadn’t seen him. The two weeks stretched out to three and three turned into four. You showed up at Griddy’s Doughnuts from time to time, and there was no sign of him. You gave up. You didn’t want to wait any longer. He left and didn’t have the heart to properly break it off so instead, he gave you false hope.
That was until October 1st rolled around. You spent the day off at home alone. Your parents were working, busy with their jobs. It was like any regular old day.
Or so you thought.
The knock from your front door bounced off the walls. This day was the last and only day that you had hopes for.
Today was the day Ben turned eighteen.
You rushed to the front door, swinging it open with a smile, “hey, Klaus! Happy birthday!” You stepped out and looked left and right. “Is Ben with you?”
“Not exactly,” Klaus rocked back and forth between his heels and toes. “Can I come in?”
“Yes, of course. Come on.” You ushered them inside, “where’s Ben?”
“Uh…” he took a seat on the couch, motioning for you to sit across from him. “It’s kind of complicated.” He took a heavy breath, scratching the back of his neck as he tried to find his words.
“Just spit it out already,” Ben said, leaning against the wall behind you.
Klaus glared at him.
“Something wrong?” You noticed his facial expression change, looking behind you before back at them.
“No, no, it’s all good. All good,” he leaned back, sighing once more. The atmosphere was dense, he kept looking back and forth between you two.
“Klaus!” Ben was getting impatient.
“Okay! Okay!” Klaus sat up straight then leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees. “Ben wanted to tell you that he’s sorry that he didn’t spend as much time with you as he promised.”
“Ben said that?” You leaned back, arms crossed over your chest. “Why couldn’t he tell me himself? Why did he send you?”
Klaus paused, mouth agape before pursing their lips. “He’s dead.”
He said that so nonchalantly that it didn’t process, “dead?” You scanned your living room, waiting for Ben to pop out from somewhere and tell you that it was some silly prank. “Funny, Klaus. Where is he?”
“No, Y/n you don’t understand.” His head fell into his hands. “Ben died on a mission two weeks ago.” He looked at the ghost that stood behind you, “and he’s sorry. He’s sorry since… y’know, he can’t be here with you. I don’t know why he’s so apologetic, it’s not his fault he died or anything.”
All of this was still too much to process. You were in shock, in heavy denial. “Ben?” You looked at Klaus as if they were a massive liar. “Like… Ben Hargreeves. He died? Two weeks ago?”
“Yeah,” they rubbed their hands together, frowning. “I’m sorry you found out this way.”
“No,” your voice instantly broke and tears spilled out of your eyes as if they were on command. You wiped the oncoming them away with the sleeves of your sweater. You tried to stop them but they kept going. The ache in your heart never stopped, it still hasn’t recovered from the last time you saw him. Hearing this news and knowing you wouldn’t see him again was heart-rending. “No, no, no. Klaus, you’re playing a sick game. You’re getting too good at this shit.” You laughed, leaning back on the couch with your sleeved hand over your eyes. “Please stop it, you little shit. This isn’t funny.”
“I’m not lying! Do you think I’d lie about something like this? My brother’s death? Y/n… it hurts me as much as it hurts you. Ben is gone.” Klaus stayed strong for you, he didn’t show signs of weakness or sorrow. They already spent all of that within the first week, they didn’t need to cry again.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” You buried your head in your hands, biting on your bottom lip to ease the pain and keep it together. “You've got to be fucking kidding me.”
Ben could see it. He could see how hard you tried to keep it in. He could hear the heartbreak in your voice and the pain in your body language. He moved from behind you to in front of you. He wanted all of this to stop, he wanted your suffering to end. Watching you lament felt like he was shot through the heart.
“I’m sorry,” Ben said, “I really am.” His voice quavered, “I wish things were different, but I did what I thought I had to do.” He reached out to touch your cheek, only for his hand to glow blue as it passed right through you. “If you could see yourself the way I do, then you’d know how much I love you. You’d know how sorry I am, you’d know how much I m-miss you.” He reached out again, but the same thing happened. “I’d do anything to hold you one last time.” He couldn’t bear to speak anymore, his voice cracked and he had to wipe the tears from his eyes. “You don’t deserve any of this.” But he kept talking. He hoped that a miracle would happen, he wanted you to hear him. “Y/n please… please, please. I love you. I love you, please I need you to know.” He reached out to pull you into an embrace, only to feel emptiness in his arms.
“Ben loves you,” Klaus said.
“I know.” You began to question your own statement. You began to question what Ben told you before he left. “Jesus Christ.” You whispered under your breath and stood up, walking right through Ben as you made your way out of the living room. “Klaus just- just leave.”
“But, Y/n—“
“Klaus leave.” Your voice was as sharp as a blade. “Don’t make me say it a third time.” You turned to them with slanted eyebrows. “Leave.”
“I’ll see you around, okay?” Klaus waved as he walked towards the exit. “I’ll see you some other day. Take care of yourself, please.”
You didn’t respond and walked to your bedroom. The second you got in there the door slammed shut. You slid down the wall and tried your hardest to control your breathing, but nothing you did could help. Your hands shook violently as a scream ripped your vocal cords.
Ben’s heart shattered. The agony behind your voice was enough to break him to pieces. He sat on the other side of the door with tear-stained cheeks. If he knew that four weeks ago would be the last time he’d hold you, he’d hold you tighter. If he knew that four weeks ago would be the last time he’d talk to you, he wouldn’t have stopped talking until the both of you were passed out. He would’ve stayed by your side until the sun rose and you opened your eyes.

Being Reginald Hargreeves's child isn't easy. Constant training, missions left and right, it all seems endless and you'd never have a normal childhood. His children have several ways of coping.
Klaus sneaks out of the house to go to teen parties where he overindulges in alcohol and pumps drugs into his veins.
Allison and Luther lock themselves up in a room where they can be alone and undisturbed. This way they can forget about their responsibilities.
Viktor plays the violin because he isn’t special. He isn’t like his siblings, he’s powerless and weak.
Diego seeks attention. Any attention that validates him as a hero is enough to feed his ego.
Ben can no longer hold a pencil or paintbrush the way he used to. All he can do is watch his loved ones suffer and get hurt. Ben’s heart was broken, knowing that he passed on his misery and misfortune to the one he loved most.

Part two? If I write it, it’s going to be a bit more angsty, no fluff, and it’s going to be shorter (hopefully). Tell me if you want to be tagged.
I may or may not already have an idea.

Ben Hargreeves was my best friend, or at least the only person I could tolerate for long periods of time within the Hargreeves family. My name is number 8, but I am not one of the 7 children Mr Hargreeves adopted. I have my own family, a mother and father who raised me, until the age of 5 when we discovered I had powers. They tried helping me control my powers for years but that did not go well, that was when they had found out about the umbrella academy, they did some research into it, and went to talk to Mr Hargreeves the adoptive father of the 7 umbrella academy kids. My parents made an agreement with Hargreaves where he would help me harness my power and control it, but I had to live in the Hargreeves household. My parents agreed and I was officially enrolled in the umbrella academy at the age of 10. I remember the first day I arrived at the academy.
Flashback:
I was met at the door by a very pretty blond woman who kindly smiled at me and led me inside after I said goodbye to my parents. I waved at them until the door closed behind me and took a deep breath. The kind woman held out her hand and I took it giving it a little shake.
"Hello dear my name is Grace," She said smiling
"H-hello" I replied shyly, pausing as she nodded encouragingly at me to continue "I'm (Y/n)" I finished.
"Well, it's lovely to meet you (y/n), Welcome to the Umbrella Academy, you can leave your bags by the door," She said letting go of my hand, she turned her back to me and started walking towards a big staircase. Meanwhile, I was frozen in place unable to take a step forward. All kinds of worries and thoughts ran through my mind. Thoughts like 'what if they don't like me', and 'what if I'm not good enough and they send me away' and more flooded my brain. Grace looked back at me to see if I was following her and I just looked at her with a frightened look on my face.
She smiled sympathetically, "Come along (y/n), I'm sure the rest of the children will adore you" She comforted me, walking back to offer me her hand to hold. I looked at it nervously before wrapping my fingers around her hand and letting her lead me upstairs. She led me to an office and entered it with me. Sitting inside behind a huge desk was Mr Hargreeves, my caretaker from now on. "Sir, (Y/n) has just been dropped off by her parents" Grace announced.
"excellent!" He said not looking up from his writings "Gather the rest of the children in the living room for a proper introduction to our newest student, I'll be down in a bit" He finished, my heart started beating faster, I wasn't ready to meet so many new people at once, I always had gotten bad anxiety with new people, ever since I was little.
"of course sir" She answered with a nod "come along (y/n) it's time for you to meet the others" She informed me softly, as if she could sense my fear, and gave my hand a gentle squeeze of reassurance. She started walking out the room and back towards the room where I had left my bags. I wouldn't let her hand go. We walked down the grand staircase and I looked at my bags still sitting by the door, I would have to get them later. She kept walking to a large living room type area, with large animal heads mounted on the walls. Large portraits of a group of kids in black domino masks hung above bookshelves and fireplaces, I assumed that was the umbrella academy. Grace stood me in front of the empty fireplace, and let go of my hand. I was about to start panicking that she was going to leave me to introduce myself to the children. However, she returned to my side almost immediately, this time with a bell in her hand. She rang the bell, and I could hear the faint thud of many footsteps from above, and I got nervous again. I quickly fumbled for Grace's hand and gripped it tightly.
"It's alright (y/n)" She said calmly, rubbing her thumb over the back of my hand soothingly. Then one by one the umbrella academy kids appeared in front of us, lining up in a straight line. They all eyed me, holding Grace's hand like my life depended on it. "Good afternoon children" She greeted cheerily, unaware of the glances the rest of the kids were throwing at me. "I'd like to introduce you all to (y/n), The newest addition to the team," she said trying to nudge me forward a little bit, but I shook my head wildly and refused to budge. She sighed and continued with the introductions. "(y/n), this is Luther" She said gesturing towards the first boy in the lineup, he had dirty blond hair and just gave me a small nod of recognition, no smile. "Diego" she continued gesturing to the second boy in the lineup, who had dark black hair and a slightly tanned complexion, he also gave me a nod of recognition, but unlike Luther, the corners of the boy's mouth turned upwards slightly in amusement. "Allison" Grace pointed towards the first girl in the lineup, who gave me a small smile, and I smiled shyly back at her. "Klaus" Grace continued, Klaus had an outright grin on his face and stepped forward taking a big bow as his name was called, flinging one hand out to the side, almost smacking the boy next to him in the face as he did. I let out a small giggle, and he stepped back into line satisfied that he was able to make me chuckle "Five" The boy next to him rolled his eyes, at Klaus, and gave me a smile as his name was called. "Ben" The small Asian boy barely looked up from his feet as he waved at me, and I waved back with a small smile. "and finally Vanya" Grace said as the last girl in the line smiled widely at me, and I could tell how overjoyed she was to have someone new in the house. "I expect you will all treat our new guest with kindness and respect," She said giving a stern look to each kid in the lineup.
"Yes mother" They all replied in unison, except for Klaus who answered a few seconds late
"Alright, your father said he would come down for introductions, but I suppose he's a bit busy at the moment. So you are all dismissed" She smiled at the children once more, before allowing them to disperse. I allowed her to detach her hand from mine, and she wandered off away from the living room. The other children gave me one final glance before dispersing to different corners of the house. Everyone left except for two kids Klaus and Ben...
"Well hello there (y/n)" He said slinging an arm around Ben's shoulder, leaving Ben no choice but to walk with Klaus towards me. "welcome to our messed up family" Klaus continued over enthusiastically as he and Ben stopped in front of me. Ben shot me an apologetic look before rolling his eyes at Klaus. Then I let out my first real laugh since being in the house.
"Shall we get your bags, and escort you to your room?" Klaus said bowing deeply after removing his arm from around Ben's shoulder.
"Why thank you, kind sir," I said playing along with Klaus giving him an overdone curtsy. His eyes lit up as I played along with his Joke. He offered me his arm and I looped my arm through it. as he led me towards where I had left my bags, a sighing Ben trailing along behind us.
End Flashback:
I chuckled to myself as I recalled the memory of when I had first met the other kids. That was about 5 or 6 years ago, I'm 16 now along with all of the other kids. Five disappeared around 3 years ago, Vanya hasn't been the same since he left. He was one of the few who was nice to her, besides me of course. I was soon pulled out of my thoughts by a quiet knock on the door. I already knew who it was.
"Come in," I said sitting up on my bed, as Ben opened the door and stuck his head inside. "How was the mission?" I asked smiling with my arms open wide. He rolled his eyes and crossed the room stepping into my open arms. I wrapped my arms around him and rested my head against his stomach.
"It was alright, we succeeded, although it was harder without you, we had to improvise on the stuff you normally would have handled," He said running his fingers through my hair, smiling down at me. "How much longer till you can come on missions again?" He asked, you see I had fallen down one of the many staircases in the house while rushing to get ready for a mission, and ended up with a broken leg. Mr Hargreeves was very upset about that as it meant I couldn't participate on missions till it was healed.
"A few weeks or so" I answered breathing in his scent content. You see Ben and I were a 'thing' but not officially a 'thing'. Like we knew about each other's feelings and acknowledged them but didn't make our 'relationship', if you can even call it one, official as we both knew Mr Hargreeves would disapprove of it. But Ben and I were content to stay this way.
"Hey (y/n)?" Ben said as he ran his hands through my hair again soothingly.
"Hmm?" I hummed my response, closing my eyes
"How much do you love me?" He asked and I could practically hear the smirking smile in his voice. My head shot up and I looked up at him. I tried to pretend I was mad at him for asking the question but I ended up smiling instead. I thought for a moment thinking up an answer that was sure to get on his nerves.
"From here" I stated simply, smiling at him.
"From here?" He asked, confused. "From here to where?" He asked with another smile.
I simply shook my head and said again "From here" Before burrowing my head in his stomach.
"I don't get it" He pouted a little.
"you will eventually" I replied with a soft chuckle.
"okay Love" he accepted my answer most likely knowing he wouldn't get anything else from me.
A few years later
I couldn't believe it, he was actually gone. The man I loved was actually gone. I couldn't believe it, but I was forced to accept it when they lowered his casket into the ground. I had been crying for a few weeks straight now, and after the funeral, I cried for a few more weeks. I was broken, Ben was the only thing I had ever loved, and the only person who made me feel like I deserved to be loved. I rarely left my room and when I did leave, Klaus didn't leave my side, he said he was acting on Ben's orders. I knew Klaus could probably summon Ben so I could see him again but I told him not to, no matter how many times he offered to. I knew that if I saw him, Klaus wouldn't be able to summon Ben for long, and once our time was up, he would be ripped from my arms again, and I wouldn't be able to handle that. Instead, I visited Ben's grave every week, every Friday. Today was no different, I exited my room and found myself immediately met with Klaus attaching himself to my hip. He knew the routine, I went through every Friday, and always willingly walked with me. We passed the playground and glanced at the children giggling while swinging on the swing set. We walked through the park until we reached the entrance to the graveyard. I saw Klaus tense up. No matter how many times I insisted he didn't have to come with me, he insisted twice as many that he did. So I linked my arm through his and he took a deep breath, while I led him to Ben's grave. I kept throwing glances at him whenever I saw his head dart in a different direction, worried. Soon we arrived at Ben's grave, thankfully it was a little separated from the rest of the graves, so Klaus wouldn't be surrounded by as many ghosts. He walked a little ways away from Ben's grave to give me some privacy, and the second he left my side I dropped to my knees and cried. I cried for a few minutes, before inhaling deeply and wiping my tears. I sniffled as I vaguely remembered a conversation we had before he died.
Semi-flashback (just a repeat from above):
End flashback
I sniffled as I recalled the conversation, realizing he never got the rest of his answer. I decided I would give it to him now, even if he wasn't nearby. I reached out to gingerly tough the gravestone in front of me.
"T-to h-here," I said my voice cracking as I stumbled over my words. "That's how much I love you Ben" I finished as my shoulders shook with sobs. --Fin--

A/N: If you've noticed that I'm writing more fics like this, it's because my mutual poked me into watching Call the Midwife and it reignited my special interest surrounding childbirth and pregnancy, so I am combining it with my current fandom obsession. I hope that you guys can enjoy some of these, because there's going to be quite a few of them as time goes on. Thanks for reading! Stay sissy and bitchy everyone <3
After making sure that all four of his already found siblings were listening to him, Five began to explain the situation that they were in. “I dumped you here without permission and we got the attention of the Commission, unfortunately. The Handler has been trying to do something nefarious with it since I joined and she’s using the fact that you’re all here as a way to continue doing that. I went back to the Commission and agreed to stop messing with time and keep certain things a secret as long as they helped me keep all of you safe. They’ve agreed to let us use one of their old safehouses. It’s one of the ones that The Handler isn’t aware of, so I’m sending you all there so that you can be safe.”
He had tried to make it so that his statement left no room for arguments. He didn’t want to spend an unknown amount of time poking, prodding, and reassuring them that it was okay and the right thing for them to do. He just wanted to make sure that the five remaining siblings he had were safe and tucked away until he could return them back to the world that they deserved.
Luther, however, seemed to have not gotten the message. Five should have suspected that he would be the biggest problem out of all of his siblings since their father had reassured him over and over again that he was the leader. “You’re going to go after that entire organization by yourself? Don’t you need the rest of us to help you?”
The oldest-youngest brother shook his head. “I don’t. I’m only going after The Handler and I’ve been given permission to use some of the other agents if I need any help. The thing that is going to help me most is having you all out of the way so that I don’t have to worry about you fucking up the timeline more. The Commission wants you out of the way as well. Two of you have tried to mess with the Kennedy assassination and the other two have made huge ripples in the culture of Dallas and the world as a whole.”
Diego pursed his lips and then folded his arms moodily over his chest as he sank down in his chair. Luther looked a little bit guilty and began to fidget impatiently. Allison let out a huffy noise and rolled her eyes, obviously not having any remorse for the ripples that she had sent through the timeline. Klaus just laughed as he lounged back on the couch that he was already sitting on.
“Do you understand?” Five asked as he looked out over all of his siblings. “If you all continue with what you’ve been doing until I got here then there’s the chance that the Commission will decide that you need to die anyway. You all have to go to the safehouse and stay there until I come to get you.”
Allison spoke up before the rest of them had the chance to, “Are we allowed to go back and say goodbye to any of the people that we loved?”
“No,” Five shook his head. “Not right now. Maybe if you’re all good and you’ve done what I’ve asked I can accompany you back so that you can say goodbye before we got back to where we’re supposed to be.”
She didn’t seem content with that answer, but she also didn’t pitch a big fuss. Five walked his siblings down the stairs so that they were near the car that Eliot had before he had been killed by the Swedes under The Handler’s instruction. “I want you to all go to this address and find Viktor. He’s going by his old name and working as a nanny for the family that lives at this address,” he didn’t bother to explain how he knew that as he wrote the information down and then handed the slip of paper over to Diego.
The aforementioned brother’s face was overcome with a kind of emotion that none of them had ever seen from him before. His brows were furrowed together and his mouth was in a pinched line. He walked to the other side of the car and then got in the front behind the wheel while waiting for the rest of his siblings to follow suit.
As soon as the present Hargreeves, with the exception of Five, had sat down in the car, he started it up. A flash of blue told him that Five had gone off to wherever he was finishing his business, so he pulled out of the driveway to go to the address they had been given.
Klaus struck up a conversation about halfway out of the city and towards the farm where their last brother was living. It was easy to fall into the pattern that they had grown up in, listening to him say something and then groaning or pointing out the inaccuracies in it. This time, even Luther joined in. Diego felt himself relaxing as he thought back to some of the more comforting memories that he had of when they were younger.
The tension and stress that he had felt before were back as soon as they pulled down the dirt driveway of the farm where Viktor was living. There were tire tracks down the path, but no car in front of the barn or beside the house which meant that someone had probably gone out.
Diego hung back in the car while the rest of the siblings piled out. He had a lot of emotions that he had to sort through concerning the brother that they had come to pick up, the least of which being the guilt that was boiling in his stomach at not coming to rescue Viktor from what might have been a very bad situation.
He stepped out after a moment, knowing that he couldn’t run away from it. He turned and then felt like his breath was stolen from his lungs in the best way possible.
His relationship with Viktor had been complicated from the very beginning of their lives, there was no alternative with the way that they had been raised. As they got older and began to come into themselves more as people, it had gotten even more twisted and confusing. He had always thought that the violinist was beautiful, but something had changed since they had last seen each other and the radiance of the other man had seemingly increased tenfold.
Viktor was standing next to a laundry line where he was picking up garments from a basket and then pinning them down so that they flapped dry in the breeze. He was wearing a long blue summer dress that brushed across his ankles and tightened up at the waist. The sleeves were simple and stopped at his mid-forearm with a looseness that allowed for work to be done easily. His hair was cut short again, like it had been right after they left the Academy and formed their short-lived band.
Something about the way that he was standing in the hot Dallas sun, the spring breeze wrapped around him, made him look more beautiful and ethereal that Diego had ever seen him look before. He could only see the side of Viktor’s face and yet the healthy glow that he had acquired since arriving in the past was evident. He was beautiful in the same way that he always had been, handsome yet soft, but at the same time different. It might have had something to do with the fact that he was off of the medication that he had been on his entire life and was finally able to feel his own feelings, but as soon as Viktor turned Diego knew that it wasn’t just that.
“Viktor?” Allison called, quickly getting the attention of their brother.
He turned around and his beautiful brown eyes welled up with tears. They didn’t even hang on his lashes as they often had when they were all children, back when his emotions were being suffocated by the medication that Reginald had kept him on since they were four. “Allison?” he asked.
The siblings had all been getting ready to approach their brother so that they could have a conversation without shouting, but as soon as he turned around they all stopped. He had one hand extended out over the top of a basket that was overflowing with wet laundry and clothespins, but the other one was what they were paying attention to. Even if it hadn’t been placed where it was, the object of their fascination would have been very obvious.
Viktor’s stomach was rounded out from underneath his chest all the way down to between his hips. It looked firm and not at all proportionate to what it would have been had the small man just gained some weight. The hand placed on the very bottom of his stomach made it even more obvious because it cut the dress so that the fabric was tightly formed around him. It was very blatant that he was pregnant.
Diego felt like he was frozen in place as soon as that finally clicked in his brain. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do when he saw the man that he had so much history with before that had been thrown into the equation, but now any ideas that he had were completely thrown out the window.
The rest of the siblings seemed to be similarly astounded that the bringer of the apocalypse, their timid little brother, was harboring a life inside of him. They were just as frozen as Diego and so Viktor had to be the one to make the first move. He dropped the basket of laundry so that they tumbled down onto the packed dirt and grass. He didn’t care as he hurried, as quickly as he could with the heavy weight on his abdomen, towards the siblings he was worried he would never see again.
He paused when he was finally in front of Allison, a mere foot away. “You’re okay?” he asked, his hand twitching at his side as he thought about whether or not it would be okay for him to reach out and touch her.
“Yeah, I’m okay, I’m okay,” Allison immediately nodded. She lurched forward so that she was hugging her brother, saving him from having to make the decision. Viktor had been crying the entire time that he had been getting closer to her, but as soon as her arms were around him he began to sob loudly.
“I’m so sorry that all happened and then I wasn’t even there to make sure that you were okay. I tried to get back to you but then my powers they- they just took over so I couldn’t think anymore and then I woke up in Dallas and I didn’t even know if any of you were out here,” Viktor gasped around sobs.
“Shh, shh,” Allison immediately soothed. She brushed her hand over the back of his head in the same way that Grace had often done when they were younger. She placed a kiss on his forehead and Diego felt a spike of jealousy flare up inside of him as he wanted to be doing that, though he quickly stamped it down as he remembered all of the feelings he had nine months ago when they were in their own timeline.
Allison pulled back then, brushed her fingers over her own eyes to rid them of the tears. “You shouldn’t be all worked up when you’re in this condition,” she sniffled.
Viktor laughed as the hand that wasn’t on Allison’s shoulder, reassuring him that his sister was really there and really okay, moved to his stomach. He rubbed a circle and then settled it back where it had been while he was working with the clothesline.
One of the other siblings slipped out of their surprise then as Klaus walked over to the smallest of the brothers. He wrapped one of his long arms around the violinist’s waist and brought him in to a half hug, “I never thought that we’d see you in a dress again, mein bruder.”
The aforementioned brother let out a half laugh, sounded absolutely exasperated despite how little Klaus had said so far. “How about you try being nine months pregnant in the beginning of Dallas summer and then tell me if you want to be wearing jeans?”
Klaus laughed, tossing his head back so that the black hat that was perched on the edge of his head tumbled back into the grass along with the laundry. “At least you don’t have much longer to go. When is baby supposed to come?” Klaus asked.
His hand moved over to Viktor’s stomach but Allison quickly hit it off. “Klaus! Never touch a pregnant person’s stomach without permission. Just because they’re carrying a baby doesn’t mean that they don’t get to have autonomy and consent anymore.”
The violinist quickly soothed the argument before it could really get started. “Allison, Klaus never asks when he touches someone so it isn’t like this is a pregnancy specific thing.” He then turned towards his brother with a small smile, “I am getting very close to my due date. We’re not sure when exactly because it took a while for me to remember again and then I couldn’t quite figure out conception dates because of how the time travel worked.”
“Remember?” Luther asked. He walked out from where he was standing next to the car so that he was closer to the rest of his siblings. Viktor tensed up a little bit and the wind picked up, but then he took a deep breath and everything settled again.
“I was dumped into a back alleyway when I got here. I was really disoriented because of the kinds of things that my powers had done to my head. I stumbled out into the road and someone hit me with their car,” he explained. “I actually work for her family, she’s been kind enough to let me stay here even with the baby on the way.”
“You were hit with a car?” Allison gasped.
“Yes, but don’t worry! She stopped as soon as she could so it basically just threw me down to the ground. I didn’t break any bones and the baby wasn’t hurt at all. I had a concussion for a little while and some scrapes but we’re both fine,” Viktor immediately soothed. He then flushed a little, no doubt ashamed that he had assumed they were worried about his and his baby’s health because of how he had been treated when they were younger.
Diego felt like he was suffocating, like the air around him was slowly seeping out. It reminded him of some of the training that he had done when he was younger, back when Reginald was trying to figure out if his breath-holding applied to anything other than world. His chest was beating up in his ears so that it made it hard to hear what his siblings were saying, but he was also hanging off of every word. His thoughts were rolling over and over in his head as he tried to figure out conception dates on his own.
“We should get going. Five said that we had to go straight to the safehouse after we picked him up,” Luther said as he glanced back towards Diego, who was still hanging back at the car.
The look got Viktor’s attention back in that direction as well. His eyes widened when he noticed that the brother he had been closest to as teenagers was there as well. He ducked his head down, though without the curtain of hair that he had all the way up until their sixteenth birthday, it was hard for him to hide the way that he was feeling. His eyes were wide and the tips of his cheeks were colored red with a nervous flush. Diego had seen that look a lot back when they were trying to, futilely, get their band off of the ground.
“Safehouse?” Viktor asked.
Klaus let out a sigh as he got ready to explain, “Our dear Fivey has been very busy since he dumped us here. He only got into Dallas about three days ago and he’s been working rather tirelessly to find us all. We were all dumped in different times because of how messy his powers are. Apparently we caught some nasty attention and so now he’s having to squirrel us away while he gets it all cleaned up and we get to go back home.”
“I can’t leave just yet. I told Sissy that I would get some chores done around the house and she might worry if she comes back and I’m just gone,” Viktor shook his head. He detached himself from Klaus and Allison as he slowly made his way back over to where the laundry basket was. Diego noticed, with affection swelling his heart, that Viktor had a little bit of a waddle now because of the size of the baby.
“Here, let me get that,” Allison quickly said as she moved past him and gathered the laundry up from the ground. She winced when she saw that one of the shirts had spilled out into a patch of mud and was now soaked. She placed that over one arm while she put the rest of the laundry back where it went and then handed it to Viktor.
“Thank you, I can’t reach stuff that falls as much as I used to. I refuse to be one of those people that just doesn’t pick things like that up because it’s harder, but it’s nice not having to do it every time,” he laughed as he took the basket. He turned back to his siblings. “Can you let me finish up the chores I need to do around the house and pack up some things?”
He was taking everything in better stride than they thought that he would given what their last interactions had been like. It was kind of hard to believe that the brother that they had seen up on that stage, bathed in white energy while trying his very best to kill everyone coming too close to him, was the same that was standing here. The Viktor that they had seen the last time they were all together was all blue-hued and cold while this one was full of rosy golden warmth.
Diego spoke up before anyone else had the chance to. His words had been stuck in his throat, much like his body had been stuck in place. “We have time, you can pack.”
From a few feet away from the car, between the vehicle and their pregnant brother, Luther whirled around with wide eyes. Despite his reluctance to help Five in the saving of the world earlier that day, he seemed to have jumped on it now. The idea of letting someone have more time than the rest of them also seemed to tick off Allison, but she didn’t say anything about it.
Viktor turned to face Diego for a moment, his eyes full of nearly-unreadable emotion. When they had been working together on starting their band, before Diego had flunked the police academy and blown away in the wind like bad dandelion seeds, the marksman had gotten very good at reading those emotions. He had to be since Viktor was shy and quiet and rarely ever spoke what he was thinking. “Thank you,” he whispered. He turned back around to his work so that he could finish hanging up the wet laundry on the line.
The lone girl of the family sent a half-pissed look at her brother, which just confirmed that the pregnancy was the only reason she wasn’t fighting against his decision the way that Luther was. She walked over to their brother and took the basket from him so that she could help him. Viktor was pulling garments out and then pinning them to the line while she trailed slowly after him while keeping the basket steady.
“What the Hell, Diego?” Luther demanded as he stormed back over towards his brother.
“You didn’t even want to save the world the last time that Five came to ask you for help,” Diego snarled.
“Why does he get more time than the rest of us to wrap up his shit? Five said that we had to get to the safehouse as quickly as possible because of the danger that the Commission is posing to us right now. If we stick around for too long they might figure out where we are,” Luther argued.
Diego felt a flare of anger burning up inside of him. He thought that he had left those kinds of feelings behind when he had dropped into this world. Despite the barbaric treatments of people in 1960s mental institutions, some of the things that he had talked about while in therapy had helped him with some of his issues. He had a couple of sessions of therapy under his belt before he even got there, so he just built their basic suggestions on the more modern ones he already knew. He had worked very hard to try and get over the issues that he had with his brother, to ration that it was their father that had turned them against each other like that.
He had forgiven Luther around the fourth month of being in the institution. The more that the other man was pushing this specific issue, the less he wanted to keep on that streak. “Because he’s fucking pregnant, Luther! You weren’t around him enough to see how much being forced to pretend that he was a girl messed him up. Pregnancy in the 1960s isn’t going to be fucking nice to him so we have to be gentle for two different reasons. I don’t think you want anything bad happening to him or the baby, do you, Luther?” he snapped.
“Something bad is going to happen to him, Diego!” Luther shouted. “There are dangerous people out there with guns that are going to hurt him, the baby, and the rest of us if they catch us!”
“They’re going to have to fucking wait until Viktor feels safe enough to go anywhere! I’m not going to push our pregnant brother into doing something he isn’t comfortable with,” he was basically seething at that point. They were going to be going back and forth like that for a while longer before one of them got bored and stopped fighting. It was something that they had done often when they were younger and were pushed against each other by their father. It was something that he often goaded them into and they fell into very easily. Diego also needed to burn off some of his anxiety and the other feelings that were swirling in his gut.
Meanwhile, Klaus had wandered off to talk with Viktor and Allison. “So what have you been doing since your little ending-the-world rendezvous?” he asked as he snagged one of the clothespins to play with.
The pregnant man pursed his lips and shrank down into himself. Allison opened her mouth to object over their brother bringing up that topic, but she was shut down before she really got to, “I’ve just been living here. Like I said earlier, Sissy hit me with her car and then brought me to the hospital. I had a pretty bad concussion and had no idea who I was so they brought me back with them to take care of me since I didn’t match up with any missing person’s reports. My memory slowly came back and we tried to reach out to you guys but I was too pregnant to get a job so that I could get an apartment. I work as a nanny here so that Sissy can focus on the farm.”
“They’re not working you too hard, are they?” Allison asked, her eyes drifting down specifically to Viktor’s domed stomach.
He chuckled and placed a hand on his swollen bump. “No, they’re not. I mainly do household chores and watch after Harlan. My midwife said that getting the exercise that I do is actually good for me and the baby. Makes it so they can grow up to be healthy and strong. Also means that I’m not liable to go into labor sooner than I’m supposed to,” he grabbed the last garment from the bag and then took the basket from Allison.
Viktor turned back towards the car, trying to catch some kind of a glance at Diego, when he saw the two brothers fighting. “Allison, why don’t you go see if you can talk Luther down and then send Diego into the house with me? We need to talk.”
He didn’t give them any room to argue as he drifted back into the house to finish up the remainder of his chores before he had to leave. Klaus and Allison glanced at each other knowingly before doing as they had been asked.
The back door that Viktor had just come through slowly opened and then closed as Diego walked through it into the kitchen. Viktor was placing the shirt that had gotten dirty when the basket fell back into the washing machine so that it could be washed with the next load. He set the basket down on the ground next to it and then slowly pushed himself up into a standing positon, one hand going to his back for extra support.
“Allison said that you had something you wanted to talk to me about,” Diego said softly as he walked over to one of the counters in the kitchen.
“Yeah, I do,” Viktor nodded. He turned around to that they could have their conversation face-to-face but then paused as he felt the burning, searing pain beginning to grow in his back. He placed his hand on the wall to support himself as he took in a deep breath through his nose. The muscles along his spine tightened painfully and then wrapped around his gravid belly for a solid thirty seconds before they all released. The pain fled and he was flushed with endorphins before he remembered everything that was happening. “Um, would you mind making another tally under the four on that paper for me since it’s behind you?”
Diego had been staring at him the entire time that he had been standing there, he was able to feel the other man’s eyes boring into his very being. It was only after he said something that the spell or captivation that had been placed on him was finally broken. He turned around to grab the paper and pencil that had been requested of him before he paused. “Viktor, what is this?” he asked.
“It’s just something that my midwife asked me to keep. A log book of all my false labor contractions to make sure that nothing is wrong with baby,” he replied. “Which is kind of what I need to talk to you about.”
“False labor?” Diego asked, trying to play stupid to give himself more time to process the information on the paper. It was broken up into seven sections, each with several numbers spread evenly throughout. Underneath each number was a certain amount of tallies, with some being more frequent and most of them being devoid of the marks altogether. The one at the bottom that was marked with their current date was what had caught his attention, however. The tallies increased as the day got later, to the point where there were already five in the column underneath the four.
“No, the baby,” Viktor shook his head. He snagged the paper and then set a tally mark down where it needed to be. “I know that you and I haven’t always had the… most stable relationship,” he winced.
Diego snorted, “You could say that.”
“Do you remember right when we found out that Dad died? You got distracted when you were doing your whole Batman-thing and came to me to get patched up, like you always did. And we…” his ears were burning red as he fully trailed off.
The memories of that night came flooding back to them both. It was like whenever they were seated that close together, on the poorly tiled floor of Viktor’s tiny bathroom, something drew them even closer. They had become intertwined as they had many times before, but they had become so giddy with the news of their father’s death that they had forgotten to be as careful as they usually were. It had resulted in them having to shower to get all of the blood from Diego’s cut off of them and Viktor complaining under his breath about having to pick up a Plan B on his way to work the next morning.
“I never did it. I was late going to orchestra and then the funeral happened and now…” he placed his hand on his swollen stomach.
“Are you saying…?” Diego felt his eyes widen as the words got stuck in his throat. That had happened so often when they were younger and Viktor had always been the most patient about it, struggling with his own words more often than not. The thought had flit across his mind as soon as he had seen the state that his adoptive brother was in, but he pushed it away quickly after reminding himself that nothing good ever happened to him.
Viktor nodded, tears welling in his dark brown eyes. “I think so. I- there’s a chance that it could be Harold’s because we weren’t… there was a time, right after my powers went haywire when Allison triggered me with her rumor that he… and I didn’t really have the brain space to be able to tell him that I didn’t want to or that he had to use a condom,” he gave a shudder.
Immediately upon hearing that, the amazement and wonder was replaced with burning rage. He had already felt a huge surge of protectiveness over his pseudo-lover when they found the body of the poor woman who had first chair violin in Viktor’s orchestra, but knowing that the murder had taken advantage of Viktor during a vulnerable time in his life made his blood boil. Diego had often initiated forceful sex and kissed without asking first, but he had always immediately backed off without any attempt at coercion when he had been told no.
He was brought out of some of the darker thoughts when he watched Viktor wiping at his face with both of his calloused hands. “Sorry. I haven’t been able to think about it much during the pregnancy, I’ve kind of decided that they’re yours already because I can’t bare the idea that he could have gotten me pregnant on top of everything else.”
Diego’s hand twitched at his side and he slowly brought it up to Viktor’s stomach, giving the other man ample opportunity to say that he didn’t want it. Instead, Viktor reached up and took his wrist so that he could lay Diego’s palm flat against his stomach, right above his belly button. “I had sex with you first and we know for a fact that you were ovulating then and we didn’t use protection. The chances are pretty damn high that this baby is mine,” he whispered.
Normally he wouldn’t have been able to say something like that because it all would have felt too overwhelming. While he always wanted to be a father, a child was a big responsibility and having a baby suddenly dumped on his lap when he didn’t have any time to think and panic about it made him want to throw himself into a lake and live there eternally. The impulse didn’t plague him now, though, because he knew that Viktor needed that reassurance. The baby would be born soon, especially if Viktor’s midwife was right about due dates, and he needed to be strong for the blossoming family and the man that he loved.
Diego took a deep breath as he leaned forward and pressed their foreheads together. It was an intimate gesture that used to be very common for them, back when they were playing small gigs in the back of pizza parlors and abandoned garages. Viktor had always been nervous, even when he was back on the medication that their father had given him, and that was one of the only ways that would properly soothe his nerves. “It’s a lot to take in, huh?” Diego asked.
He felt like he was going to shake apart at the seams as his brain really began to process everything that had happened. One day it felt like he was going about his normal life, working as a janitor in a gym by day and being a vigilante at night. The next his father was dead, he had some of the best sex of his life, and then he was at his father’s wake. Everything after that, finding out that Viktor had powers, that his sort-of lover was dating someone new, that someone turning out to be an obsessive murderer, watching his mother die twice, watching his childhood home crumble, being forced to sit silently as Viktor begged him to let him out of the cage they had locked him in, and then watching powers none of them understood taking over their brother. That had all been before the time travel, the asylum, the second end of the world, and everything that had happened with Lila.
Now he was standing in a stranger’s kitchen, trying to work through all of those events while also processing that it was very likely he would be a father before the week ended.
“I don’t think I’ve had the chance to process it all since it began. I was back here and then I was pregnant and I had that to worry about. Still do, and then I’ll have the baby. But there’s always time for a panic attack later, right?” he chuckled.
Diego cracked a smile at that. Despite the nervous energy that was thrumming through his body because of everything happening around him, that nod back to their band days helped him feel immensely better. It wasn’t something that they had enjoyed at the time and it had worried him then, but now it made him feel warm. It reminded him of back when they thought that they had a chance for the future, that they would never hurt each other because they understood the other too well. That hadn’t lasted long because Diego was shit at managing his life and had a mean mouth to boot, but he had changed a lot since then.
“Yeah, there will be time for panic attacks later,” he murmured as he rubbed his hand over the swollen bump on his brother’s abdomen. The idea that their child was inside of the smaller man, nestled away from the world and safely growing until they could make their debut was the most exciting and terrifying thing that Diego had ever thought about.
He felt a small kick to his hand just as Viktor’s face fell from the delicate smile he had been wearing. He let out a small hum in the back of his throat as his spare hand moved away from Diego's shoulder and to his back, supporting him through another one of the pains.
Diego kept one hand on Viktor’s bump while the other moved to support his brother. They slowly walked over to the dining room table a few feet away from the kitchen. He helped Viktor lower himself down until he was leaning back in the chair, finally sitting down and off his feet. “So I’m not exactly an expert on this, but I don’t think that false labor contractions happen this often,” he gestured with his head over to the note that he had snagged on their way to the chair.
“I’m not in labor,” Viktor shook his head. “When my midwife came to the house yesterday she said that I still had a couple of days. Nothing is on the move yet, so we should have plenty of time for Five to finish doing whatever it is that he needs to get done.”
There was no argument in his voice and Diego was too worn out from having all of the information dumped on him to try and find the words. He merely added another tally underneath the hour and sat with Viktor until the other man felt steady enough to get back up. “Do you think that you could help me with some of the packing? I’ve already done most of the chores that Sissy asked me to do while she was away.”
“Of course,” Diego replied. He was standing and helping Viktor to his feet in an instant. Knowing that the other man still loved him, at least in some way even if it wasn’t the more direct way that he had been hoping for, had directed some of his attention away from all of his other thoughts. He had been of the opinion that the fathers-to-be that were obsessed with their spouses when they were expecting had been cheesy and unrealistic. He had never been around someone that was pregnant all the way from the beginning to the end when he was that young, but his opinion had stayed the same as he got older. He had figured that nothing much could change in the way that someone loved just because their partner was pregnant. He now knew better than that, because he felt completely enamored with Viktor now that he knew the other man was responsible for making him a father.
“Just through here,” Viktor explained as he waddled towards the living room. The couch had a stack of blankets and pillows carefully made up on one side and there was a suitcase full of clothes next to the chair.
Diego felt his mouth flicker down into a frown. He was grateful that this family had taken in Viktor when he needed them but he wished that it had been a slightly better situation. If the apocalypse hadn’t happened Diego might not have been able to offer Viktor a better place to stay himself, but at least in their own time the pregnant man had his own apartment and an actual bed to sleep on.
“Where’s the baby stuff?” Diego asked as he searched for it.
“Under the couch. It’s bigger than you think,” Viktor chuckled. He walked over and hefted the suitcase up onto the chair so that he could flick it open and look through it. It was full of clothes from throughout his pregnancy, though there weren’t a lot of garments in there. It was about half full with a half dozen pairs of pants, three button ups and a pair of overalls. There was plenty of room for him to move the baby clothes that he hadn’t prepared yet into it.
Diego slid everything that had been nestled underneath the couch out and then began to help Viktor fold them and get them packed away. The smaller man had another two contractions while they were working but waved away Diego’s little concerned noises every time.
Eventually, the domesticity of the situation was interrupted by another one of their siblings. They had been in the house for longer than they thought and the others were beginning to get worried that they were hanging around for too long. “How’s it going in here?” Allison asked as she looked over the baby clothes that they were sorting through. It was two full boxes worth of clothing items, everything that Sissy had saved from when Harlan was born and a few that they had gotten just in case the baby was a girl.
“Good,” Viktor smiled. He turned towards her to give her more details but then stopped as he felt another one of the building pains. Diego was on his feet in an instant, allowing Viktor to use the other man’s hands so that he could stay upright and steady.
Their sister turned towards Diego and their eyes met. A whole conversation exchanged between them in the silence of Viktor’s contraction. “Are you in labor?” she asked, keeping her voice low and compassionate as she walked over to help keep him steady.
“No,” the smaller man objected. He stood up straight with a little grunt in the back of his throat and then a splattering noise sounded through the room.
Allison let out a little giggle as she said, “I think that baby is determined to prove you wrong. Unless you just peed yourself, I think that was your water breaking.”
He slowly tilted his head down so that he could see the growing puddle of water in the middle of the living room. Despite being nine months pregnant, he had never had an issue with his bladder other than feeling like had to pee more often. He was also aware enough of his own body to know that the clear fluid leaking out of him certainly wasn’t urine. “I thought that I was going to have more time…”
Another silent conversation passed between the other siblings. Diego grasped Viktor’s elbow with one hand and placed a hand on his back with the other. “Come on, we can go out to the car and wait there while people finish up here,” he said softly.
“Wouldn’t it be a better idea for me to go out to the car with him? I’ve had a baby before,” Allison argued.
“That’s why I need you in here,” Viktor replied as he nodded towards his suitcase. “You know more about baby clothes than Diego does. He can sit with me in the car and hold my hand or whatever people are supposed to do when they’re around other people in labor.”
She looked like she wanted to protest, but he had made a good point. Instead of wasting what little time that they had before the baby got there and it was a lot harder to get to the safehouse, she gathered up the items from the couch and basically forced them into Diego’s arms. The duo were then shepherded out of the backdoor and towards the car so that Viktor would have a semi-stationary place to labor.
Klaus and Luther were talking about something amongst the white sheets that were now billowing in the hot desert wind, but Viktor didn’t really pay much attention to either of them. He had been so wrapped up in his feelings and everything that was happening before his water broke that he barely noticed when the contractions came and went. Now that the protective bubble of the amniotic fluid had left and he was focusing on how soon he was going to meet his baby, everything felt a lot more present. He had to pause every time that he got one of the pains, which was thankfully only once as they made their way out of the house and to the car.
They paused in their conversation to watch the slow way that Viktor was walking while almost clutching at his stomach. He was sure that the lower half of his sun dress was almost soaked with the fluid that was still trickling down his leg when he moved the wrong way. He tried not to think about it too much because the idea that he was going to give birth soon was almost too much for him to handle.
Diego opened up the back of the car and then carefully helped Viktor into it. The only section of the vehicle that Luther fit in, they found out, was the trunk, so even though Viktor would have more maneuverability back there, it was off limits so that they could get the entire family to the safehouse.
The marksman laid down one the blankets on the backseat and then another in the footwell so that there was some cushion no matter how he decided he needed to be. “Can you run back into the house and get some more towels? I have a baby blanket but that’s not going to be of any use to us until baby is at least a little bit clean. Especially since we have no idea what this house Five is stashing us at is like,” he explained.
Diego looked a little anxious at the idea of having to leave his heavily pregnant and laboring partner, but he also knew better than to argue. He slipped out of the backseat, but thankfully he didn’t have to go far. The other two had been watching the interaction that they were having and slowly drifting over. Diego explained about the contractions and how Viktor’s water had broken when they were in the house, which only served to make Luther look a little pale and clammy. “Can one of you go get some towels? It sucks that we have to steal from this family but it’s not like we want this baby to be born with nothing if this house Five is sending us to ends up being empty.”
Klaus immediately agreed, turning and rushing off to do as he had been asked. Luther slowly trailed after Diego as the marksman returned to his lover. He paused when he got about a yard away from the car, turning to look around like attackers could be coming from anywhere. It was a little silly since Five had guaranteed that they’d be safe for a few hours while they drove to the house, but anything that made him feel better was getting a pass in Diego’s book.
It took about ten minutes for them to all be ready to go. Viktor was in the backseat with his forearms pressed together on the backseat of the car, kneeling down in the footwell behind the front. Diego was right beside him with a bowl of water snuggled up to the door and the crease in the seat so it didn’t spill. He would douse a cloth in it and then either use it to wet Viktor’s lips or run it over the back of his neck to keep him cool. It was kind of beautiful and terrifying to see what his lover was going through to bring their baby into the world.
Eventually Allison and Klaus both came out of the house. The suitcase full of things that Viktor would need for the newborn was placed into the trunk alongside the towels and the kit that the midwife had dropped off for his delivery. Klaus was driving and Allison was sitting in the passgender’s seat, though there had been a brief argument about who should be the one sitting beside Viktor.
None of their siblings knew about their band or what their relationship had been like after Five left and Ben died, when they could only find solace and companionship between the two of them. Allison’s argument for her being back with him was that she had been in labor and delivered before, but Klaus was quick to chime in and tell her that she had a c-section so she wasn’t really going to be a huge help during the delivery part.
Viktor barely even noticed anything had changed when the car started moving. Despite not having done it for most of his life, Klaus was fairly good at driving so even the transition down the long dirt driveway away from the farm was fairly smooth. They drove through the endless streets as they tried to get to the safehouse that Five had set up for them. Allison sat so that her back was pressed to the door and she could see both out of the windshield and her laboring brother, which was the only way that she allowed Diego to stay in the back with him.
“He’s so quiet,” she whispered after almost half an hour of driving. Viktor had been swaying back and forth and breathing rhythmically the entire time, which made it very hard for her to time how close his contractions were.
“I thought that the screaming and shouting and throwing things during labor was a stupid movie trope,” Luther piped up from the back. He was nervously worrying a blanket in between his fingers to try and settle down. He kept checking behind them like he was suddenly going to see the FBI and Commission coming to chase them down, as though they didn’t look like any other family trying to get where they needed to go before a baby came into the world.
Allison moved her hand back and forth. “Yes and no. I didn’t tell Patrick that I hated him or I never wanted to have sex with him again when I had Claire but I still made noise. Contractions are probably the most painful thing that I’ve ever been through,” she explained.
Viktor was lulled by the sounds of his families’ voices all around him. He had always wanted to be surrounded by their love and warmth and he had been denied that for so long when he was younger. It was nice to be around them when he already felt so zeroed in and focused on what was happening. His brain was fuzzy and distant like it had been when his powers took over his body, but in a much different was. The only thing that he could focus on was the steadily raising tide of pain and pressure. Each wave would overcome him for about thirty seconds and then recede before the next one came in. He could feel every distinctive thing happening in his body as his baby stilled and made their descent into the birth canal.
His body had basically taken over the entire situation. He didn’t feel like he had to worry because Diego was a steady, constant presence beside him and his other siblings were all within grabbing reach. He could just focus on the pressure low in his pelvis and the steady descent of his baby.
He leaned forward and shifted so that he was up on his feet instead of his knees. It spread his pelvis at least a little bit wider, which was much more comfortable now that he was at this point in his labor. Viktor grasped the blanket that Diego had spread out over the seat of the car so that his knuckles had turned almost white as he felt the overwhelming urge to bear down. He wasn’t going to deny his body what it wanted after years of his life being consumed by only that alone. He also wasn’t sure that he was physically capable of resisting the urge.
Almost as soon as he had made the choice to start pushing, the pressure was alleviated off of him entirely. It was enough of a relief that he let out a small whimper when he breathed out after the contraction passed.
“You doing okay, V?” Diego asked as he brought the cloth over. He had wrung it out so that he could place the entire thing over Viktor’s head and cool him down. It did the trick as the water weighted down his feathery brown locks just enough that his scalp was bathed with cool.
Viktor turned his head to the side so that he could meet his lover’s eyes. He gave him a tired smile and said, “Yeah, s’just a lot.”
“You know that you can cry out, right?” Allison asked, reaching over so that she could rub his back with one hand. “We know that it hurts. No one is going to get mad at you for making noise while your body literally prepares to birth a child.”
He gave a small nod as he returned back to what he had been doing before. He wasn’t making noise not because he was scared to, but because the pain didn’t seem all that terrible to him when his mind was as fuzzy as his was. The pressure was what was wearing him out since he dealt with low level pain almost every single day. The steady movement on his back was just the right amount of stimulation that he needed to keep his body from freaking out. It was something to focus on other than the baby’s head slowly descending down his birth canal.
The tension in the car was so thick that it could have been cut with a knife. They were all worried about being able to make it to the safe house that Five had set up for them in the time that he had given them to show up. Luther was basically staring out of the back window like he was going to be able to summon a monster for him to fight just to get his nerves to settle down. Klaus was focusing on driving, though he kept muttering to someone that none of the rest of them could see. Diego was focused mainly on Viktor, but images of having to fight while his boyfriend was giving birth to their child alone kept flashing through his mind and it was making him feel restless. Allison kept twitching back and forth, her eyes never hovering on any of the siblings for long but taking more time with Viktor than she ever had before.
Suddenly, she jerked forward and asked, “Is he pushing?”
Diego’s attention was snapped out of his thoughts and day-mares so that he could focus entirely on the brother that he had been taking care of during their long drive. “V? Hey, baby, I need you to look at me,” he made sure that his voice was soft and compassionate as he said that.
Viktor had, in fact, been pushing for the last ten minutes at least while they sped through Texas. He shifted so that he was leaning back against the front seat and looking towards Diego. His chest was heaving for breath but he focused on panting like he had practiced with his midwife when they were preparing for the birth.
None of the siblings said anything about the inherently romantic pet name that their brother had just called the laboring man, focusing entirely on the way that Viktor was cupping something between his legs. His hands had moved under the sundress that he was wearing somewhere in the twenty minutes that they had all been quiet. The billowy material of the outfit was enough that none of them could make out what it was.
Diego brought the cloth down and brushed the edges of it over his red-hued cheeks to try and help him cool down. “Just breathe, baby, just breathe. You’re doing so well, working to bring our kid into the world. Don’t worry about anything else, we’ve got it.”
The words rushed over him like the soothing water from the cloth. He felt some of the tension in his muscles relax as he continued to let his body do what it needed to. His eyes fluttered shut for a moment as he felt the head, which had been crowning for quite some time, finally reach the apex and then slip out of him entirely. He had been feeling the soft, dirty, downy hair of his baby while he waited for that very thing to happen. Now that it had, he simply cradled the little head while he waited for the next pain to take over him.
Allison and Klaus shared a look with each other as they realized who the father of their brother’s baby was. It wasn’t like the pseudo-incest that any relationship between the Academy kids had been taboo. Allison and Luther had been making moon-eyes at each other since they were thirteen and they had all been raised as child soldiers instead of siblings like others might have been. It was just surprising because up until that very moment, all of them had assumed that the duo hated each other based on the way that Diego had acted during their father’s wake.
Soon, Allison recovered from the shock and turned around so that she could continue to enquire about the situation. “Diego, is he pushing?”
During the time that she had been asking him that, Viktor felt another contraction come on so he pushed harder. He let his head fall back against the front seat of the car and then whimpered when the shoulders of the baby finally slipped from him and into his waiting hands.
One second he was pushing with all his might to rid his body of the tiny infant coming out of him and the next both of his hands were full of baby. He completed the movement by removing the baby from underneath his dress and placing them on his chest, cradled protectively in his arms.
“Holy shit,” Diego whispered as he felt his eyes go wide. He might have gotten faint at the sight of needles, but blood and whatever else the newborn was covered with weren’t affecting him in the slightest. He had never felt more awake than he did in that very moment, staring at the squirming body of his firstborn.
“What? What just happened?” Klaus asked as he tried to glance back into the backseat using the rearview mirror. They had just passed by a rest stop so the amount of cars that they were passing increased enough that he had to pay attention to the road.
“Oh my God,” Allison gasped as she watched her brother slowly sink down into a sitting position with the baby grasped in his arms.
All of the noise and Allison’s insistent questions was enough to tear Luther away from where he was staring out the back window for any threats. He was now staring directly ahead, where all other eyes were, on the sweaty forehead of their brother next to the grimy body of the newest Hargreeves family member. “Viktor literally just gave birth,” he said as a way of explanation for Klaus.
Diego was the first to recover from the shock. He turned around and then flipped his body over the back seat. Luther barely even noticed that he was there, until the taller man was pushed almost unceremoniously to the side so that Diego could grab the delivery kit from where it was on top of the suitcase full of baby clothes. He also snagged a towel before he turned back around and dumped the former of the two items down. He handed the towel over to Viktor as he slid down onto the floor.
“You did this, you brought this baby into the world,” he smiled so wide that his cheeks hurt. It was hard for him to really grasp, that in a moment, without even knowing it, his baby had been born and he had become a father. The mere idea that Viktor had been that quick and efficient in giving life to another human made him all the more amazed with his boyfriend.
“S-sorry I didn’t tell you, I got too wrapped up in trying to get it over with,” Viktor replied breathlessly as his eyes flit up to where his sister was staring at the baby in dazed wonderment.
Diego leaned down and pressed a kiss to his wet forehead. “You have nothing to apologize for. I would take being surprised that I’m now a dad over you suffering or feeling uncomfortable any day,” he explained. He set the towel down over the other side the baby so that they were sheltered entirely from the rest of the outside world.
The smaller man brought his hand up so that he was rubbing small circles on the baby’s back to start cleaning off some of the birth goop. He let out a small, adoring laugh when the newborn took in their first breath and began to wail so loudly that he was sure the cars passing by could hear. “Hi baby, hey,” he whispered happily. He shifted a little bit, with Diego’s help, so that he was laying against the door with his legs spread out so that his knees weren’t bent any longer.
Diego got up onto the seat of the car and began to unpack what was in the birth pack the midwife had sent. He got out the clamps first so that he could cut the cord like he needed to. “Roll them out towards me?” he asked Viktor.
The other man complied, shifting the baby around so that the neonate was facing up towards the ceiling while still protectively wrapped up in the towel. “A little boy. We’ve got a little boy, Vik,” Diego was almost crying as he got a good look at his son. He would have been happy with either sex and he would be happy with any gender that his child may or may not decide he wanted to be in the future. He was more marveling about every little detail he got to know about his baby now that the little one was finally there.
“We do, he’s our little boy,” Viktor beamed at him before he looked down at the newborn with a fascination that only a brand new parent could have.
Allison instructed Diego on about how far down he had to cut the cord based on what she remembered from when she gave birth to Claire. They gave it an extra little bit just so that they could be sure they weren’t hurting the newborn.
He shifted again, placing the clamp back in the bag now that they had tied and cut the cord. He wet a towel with the water from the bowl and handed it to Viktor before he dumped the rest of it out of the rolled down window. He then placed the bowl on the ground of the car so that they could use it to catch the afterbirth when it finally came. He knew that much from the mandatory lessons about childbirth they had to take during their first aide training.
“We’re about an hour away from the safehouse where we’re going to be able to bury it, sorry,” Klaus said as he checked the roadsigns that they were passing by.
“It’ll fly by now that we’ve got him here,” Viktor whispered as he looked down at his son. He had finished washing the baby off so that he was now spotless, pinked skin and kicking his chubby legs like his life depended on it.
They managed to get some clothes from the back thanks to Luther rooting through it until he found something that looked to be about the right size. Once the baby was changed into a diaper and onesie, Viktor wrapped him up in the baby blanket that Sissy had given him when he first found out he was pregnant. “You wanna hold him? I have to pass the afterbirth and then I want to change into something so I can feed him.”
That question was one that, for some reason, he hadn’t really been expecting to be asked. He knew that the baby was his and eventually he would hold his son, especially since he wasn’t going to be distant like some of the fathers he had seen in the sixties or his own. Still, it came as a bit of a shock to him and sent his brain reeling.
He ended up just opening his arms for the newborn instead of being able to give an affirmative properly. All of his words were stuck in his throat, like they got every time he was worried about something. He carefully took the baby into his arms and then sat back on the seat of the car while staring down at the tiny face of the newborn. His son was still wailing loudly since it was overwhelming and confusing to be out in the world when he had been in the protection of Viktor’s womb only moments before.
The aforementioned man moved so that he was in a squatting position above the bowl and grunted as he pushed one last time and the afterbirth came out of him. Allison ended up looking it over with a pair of gloves from he birthing kit so that they could make sure it was the entire thing.
Viktor was changed out of the now completely ruined sundress into a pair of baggy pajama pants and one of the button up shirts for ease of access when he was breastfeeding. His belly was still there but it wasn’t nearly as large or hard as it had been when the baby was inside. Diego got him set up on the seat part of the back with the pillow they had grabbed from the house propping him up against the door. He sat on the floor, though the blanket that had once been down there was now rolled up on the other side with the afterbirth bowl tucked inside of it so that no one had to look at it.
The rest of the siblings were quiet, each of them processing the fact that they had just become uncles and an aunt. Luther was staring out the back of the car to protect them from attacks in that direction and Klaus was focusing on driving.
Diego brushed his fingers over the soft hair on the back of the baby’s head while Viktor focused on helping the baby get his first feeding. “It’s hard to believe that he’s real. I know he’s mine though, he’s already got my nose and lips.”
“He’s got your eyes too. The shape of them. The blue will go away eventually,” Viktor said affectionately. “I think. It’s possible we’ve both got blue eyed parents and we don’t know.”
“I know he’s all squished and lopsided right now but he really does look like us.” He was marveling over that fact for several minutes until he finally asked, “What are we going to name him?”
“I was hoping that we could name him something Russian. I know that you’re Spanish and that’s also very important to you but… I just wanted something to connect him back to my own mother since I was thinking about her a lot when I was pregnant,” Viktor said, his voice small and nervous.
“Something Russian,” Diego hummed as he thought about it, not even questioning it.
“Rasputin,” Klaus said from the front seat. That got a laugh from the rest of the siblings, which was enough to make them all relax a little bit. None of them seemed to realize how the nerves of the baby being born on top of fleeing to a safehouse had worn on them until that joke finally broke the tension like a ball of glass.
They went quiet again, though it was a lot more easy this time. Diego brushed his fingers over the back of the baby’s head. “Aleksei?”
Viktor looked at him, tearing his eyes away from their baby’s now sleeping face for only a moment. “Aleksei Benjamin Hargreeves. I like it.”
In the front seat, despite being the person that had been most relaxed through the entire process of driving to the safehouse, Klaus tensed up. He turned to the side where Allison was sitting, though it was pretty obvious that he wasn’t looking at her. He glanced to the backseat and said, “Ben says he’s honored.”
None of them could say anything about that, but Viktor leaned forward so that he wasn’t directly crying down onto the baby as he suppressed a sob. Diego moved so that his boyfriend was laying down in between his legs and surrounded by his warmth. They stayed like that until they got to the safehouse, forty five minutes after Aleksei had been born.
Luther carried Viktor into the house, which they found to have two bedrooms and be completely furnished with anything that someone would need to live there for upwards of two weeks. Diego was put in charge of getting all of Viktor’s clothes set out along with setting up the cot for the baby to sleep in. Luther was in charge of digging the whole for the afterbirth while Allison and Klaus worked on getting some food ready for the rest of their family.
Viktor chose to be in the living room while all of that was happening. He had been separated from his siblings for his entire life and he had just been through something deeply traumatic and frightening, so he didn’t want to be away from them again so soon. Aleksei seemed to be soothed by being around Diego anyway, and he was building the small cot in the living room where there was more room.
Another half hour had passed by the time that the tell-tale pop of Five teleporting sounded around the room. “You all got here safe, good,” Five breathed out. He looked worn out and tired, like he had lived an entire life between when he had told them to come here and that moment.
“Hey, do you want a grilled cheese? I know you prefer that peanut butter monstrosity but Viktor got to choose because… well,” Klaus waved the cheese-covered spatula towards the aforementioned brother.
Five’s brow furrowed together with confusion before he turned towards Viktor. He was laying on the couch with a blanket draped over his legs and part of his chest as he nursed the newborn again. The eldest-youngest brother blinked a few times and then said, “What the fuck?”

The Invisible Men
HEY I wrote a fanfic about Klaus and Ben’s relationship. Old Ben, that is.
I know I said I don’t ship them, but, hm, I don’t know how to explain how I see their relationship lol So if you’re anti that ship, don’t read it, tho they don’t kiss or anything. They simply share everything?
It’s a story about Klaus sleeping with his head inside the toilet :D
Be mindfull that when I say “sleeping”, I mean dying, but it’s Klaus, It’s just something he does. And it’s an OD. So, yeah, That’s the warning, be safe, love you.
.
The Invisible Men
They were invisible, both of them. They were the same and yet so different. No one saw them, but one was said to be a hero, a great guy, someone they’ve missed; and the other was known for being useless, trouble and someone they would rather miss.
And Klaus was too high again. He could barely see Ben. They were at the bathroom, Klaus wanted to puke. Ben wished he could touch him, just so he didn’t end up sleeping again with his head inside the toilet.
Ben was worried, he always was. But specially when Klaus seemed to be running after death itself. It was ironic how this guy, who was so afraid of the dead, was always trying to die.
Ben was pissed. Klaus thought that, being dead, he wouldn’t be able to see the dead? That they’d leave him alone? If that was true, Ben would’ve been free from the Horrors a long time ago, but they were still there and they would always be.
It hurt seeing his brother like that, doing everything and anything to die. He wished he was alive. Couldn’t they swap places? Klaus could rest and Ben could have some ice cream. Ben really wanted some ice cream, he thought.
“Klaus, are you done? Let’s go get ice cream, I want to see you eating. What do you think?”
Being dead for so long, they developed ways for him to enjoy the little things. Klaus would eat whatever Ben felt like and tell him how it was, how it tasted. Ben loved it when he was just a little high from pot and gave him these descriptions in metaphors, in music or even poetry. When he wanted to watch a movie, Klaus would get two sits, and would hiss at anyone that tried to get his brother’s place. Even when hooking up they would decide together who Klaus was going to go with. They had this rule that Ben was not supposed to look at Klaus, but they both knew Ben watched the whole thing.
It was not as if it was dirty or anything, it’s just that Ben’s existence was basically being Klaus’ voyeur for everything. He lived by empathizing with his brother’s experiences. Maybe that’s how he was able to grow older.
“Klaus?”
Klaus was taking too long to take his face out of the toilet, his body looked too relaxed. Looking closer, Ben could see some blood in the middle of all that puke. And Klaus’ green eyes wide opened, looking nowhere. No response.
“Shit.”
Ben wished he was corporeal so he could check his vitals, anything. But he couldn’t.
Instead he got off the bathroom and could see Allison and Luther chatting. He ran towards them, panicking.
"... I can’t believe he’s here again…” Allison said silently. Ben wanted to tell her that Klaus–
“And Pogo said some things are missing again… ” Oh, great, they were talking about Klaus. “I’m sure he’s here stealing things to buy drugs, again…” Of course he is! He doesn’t have a job!
“When will he grow out of it?” oh, yeah, He’s gonna wake up tomorrow and be free from addiction! Go check on him! “One day we’ll end up finding his body… I wish we could help, but…” You can!!! Get him out of the fucking bathroom! He’s dying!
“Buuut it’s Klaus, he won’t change…” they both sighted and Ben’s throat felt heavy, they couldn’t hear him. “He could at least do those things out of here…”
Ben was pissed. That guy didn’t have a place to go! This is his house, for god’s sake! He is not just a problem, he’s a person! He’s their brother, and he needs help. Ben knew it better than any of them, but he couldn’t do a thing. They had to go see him, go help him, now!
“He’s been in there for a long while. Don’t you think we should check on him?” YES ALLISON, PLEASE!
“Don’t worry, mom will check on him later.” WHAT? Where did this information came from? Mom never checked on Klaus when he was high. Ben did, it was always Ben. And Ben was so frustrated. “C’mon, let’s eat something before bed…”
And they left. They simply left. They could’ve just looked at him, but guess it was too troublesome. No one would help Klaus.
Ben was shaking his non corporeal body, he felt scared, pissed, but mostly scared. And he could not just stay there, he should go see if something changed. If Klaus died, at least they could share immortality together, right? Their duo shouldn’t end like this. It didn’t end when Ben died, why should it when it was Klaus’ turn?
But god, how relieved Ben was when he got back into the bathroom and saw his stupid brother looking at him from the floor, with a stupid smile on his face.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
“I thought you left me…” Klaus was also relieved, Ben could see in his face. “I thought…” he cleaned his bloody running nose. “you got tired of my bulshit and finally went to heaven…”
Ben giggled to hide the fear that was glued to his face for those last minutes.
“No, I just excused myself from watching you sleep with your face in the toilet.” He kneeled by Klaus’ side and both couldn’t hide their smiles. “There’s only so much second hand embarrassment one can endure.”
They just stood there, looking at each other, happy they were not alone right now. And that they were not invisible.
Ben watched as Klaus washed his face poorly. That’s good enough anyway. He turned towards his brother who stood in front of the door and, asking for him to let him open it, he asked:
“Do you think mom has ice cream here? I woke up dying for it…”
Ben smiled, happy to live by his side.

TUA requests…?
listen, i know i’ve been unreliable as of lately 😪 shitty life stuff lmfao i have fics related to a few different fandoms rolling out including stranger things, supernatural, etc.
anyways, binged the third season of the umbrella academy today and my obsession for the show has been reawakened. soooo opening requests feel free to request pretty much whoever and whatever except for…
- smut
- anything romanticizing gross shit (abuse, assault, incest, etc.)
- old people (i don’t like them /hj)
that’s really it if i’m being honest. be respectful, be specific, and that’s all that matters :) also i would prefer to keep to gender neutral readers, so please try to avoid gendered things as i will likely edit it to gender neutral. exceptions will be allowed, but only in the case of requests like…
ex. “can i request so-and-so with a trans (insert identity) reader for comfort?”
thats all 😪

warnings: smut, dirty talk, cockwarming, unprotected sex
pairing: sparrow!ben x Umbrella!reader
a/n: english isn't my first language sorry If I made any mistake :)
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
I've heard of a love that comes once in a lifetime
And i'm pretty sure that you are that love of my life
"i'm not your ben"
" I know "
"I'm better" he said before kissing you, you didn't even object, you responded to the kiss with fervor, a clash of teeth and tongues.
Ben's hand slipped inside your pants, you moaned breaking the kiss as he began rubbing your clit.
Ben smiled satisfied when you leaned against his chest while you moaned, there was something in you that made him feel the need to please you, to make you happy; he just wanted to erase that sad expression that you always used to have.
"oh god .. ben" you gripped his arm tightly when you felt your release bubble up, however Ben stopped touching you making you whimper in frustration.
"shh" Ben calmed you down kissing your temple "I want you to cum on my cock y/n" he mumbled making you shiver "only if you want" he added
"yes please, I want to feel you" and that was all the sparrow needed to take you to his bed, as soon as you were in bed you both began to undress each other; there was something about the way they touched that was so intimate, like they've done it before.
It felt so surreal, your dead boyfriend from another reality was about to make love to you.
"You're so precious y/n" Ben whispered against your lips before pushing into you.
You let out a moan almost pornographically as Ben push into you hard, overwhelmed by pleasure you wrapped your arms around Ben's neck and he leaned in gladly, excited to taste your lips, his eyes closed longing for contact until finally their lips met in a hungry kiss.
The sparrow kept his pace while he kissed you like a hungry man, he didn't even care that some of your siblings or his siblings saw them in such a compromising situation.
"You're so tight, just like I imagined" he whispered as he enjoyed your hands caressing his chest, he moaned as your walls tightened on him.
"you feel so good y/n....you're so lovely" he mumbled keeping to hit his hips against yours
You moaned under his touch, the feeling of being fucked by Ben was incredible.
"You fill me up so well, better than I imagined" you admitted between kisses making ben smile "oh.."
"I'm not surprised why the other me fell in love with you" he said before sneaking his hand between you, stopping at your clit, rubbing it torturously; ben wanted you to come first, he needed to hear you and see you melt in pleasure, he needed to see you made a mess .
Your release bubbled up once more, ben picked up his pace, hitting that perfect spot that made you see stars.
They were both close, you felt ben's rhythm begin to falter as he rubbed your clit faster.
"fuck.." ben moaned when your walls squeezed him, you moaned loudly when your first orgasm reached you, you crashed your lips against ben's trying to silence your moans.
Your nails dug into his skin "mmmh, ben, feels so good.. please.. fill me up.. cum inside me.. I need it" you wandered between moans
"You're so perfect" Ben mumbled just before painting your walls with his warm seed, driving you towards your second orgasm. You moaned his name over and over as you milked him, each drop released inside you, it felt so warm. Everything about him felt warm.
Finally he stopped and placed his forehead against yours, his heavy breath hitting your face.
"I could be between your legs all day" Ben whispered with a smug smile.
"such a romantic" you teased still with your eyes closed, enjoying having him still inside you.
You didn't want to think about what would happen next.
"stay with me" he asked "leave your brothers and stay with me" he repeated, looking into your eyes.
It felt like a dream.
You smiled nodding as the tears began to fall on your face "don't cry sunshine, this time I won't leave you" he promised.
