lemme just be honest here for a moment. for us fanfic creators, or literally any content creator, while we love likes, we love reblogs and comments more than likes. sure, while likes may be faster, reblogs and comments actually gives some sort of feedback to the creator, giving them some sense of reassurance that the content they're posting is the kind their audience likes. i've never really seen anyone comment or reblog on a post that has a quite bunch of likes, or is just liked by a majority of people; however, i've seen a ton of comments and reblogs on a post or something that people don't like. you're showing who you're hating that you don't approve of their actions, or their post, and so if i'm just genuinely speaking, what's the difference of actually giving feedback to a post that you actually like? i'm not trying to be offensive or rude in any way, but that's what we writers, us content creators, are trying to find. just plain feedback. being completely honest? finding a post with around 5k notes, 4,970 of them being likes, and then only like 30 of the notes being reblogs (not to mention, that a majority of those reblogs were self-reblogs by those same creators) and not even a single comment- it honestly makes us content creators feel like we're just making content for a whole bunch of bots or something. truly, and i don't mean this offensively in any way, but we just want to interact with our audience. there's nothing really much else to it than that.
