#and (again probably because of period hormones) i just sat there and cried about it

i am once again thinking about the time at a hotel when my mother wouldn't let me take the elevator downstairs (the stairs were emergency-only) to put a dying bug in the grass because the rest of my family wouldn't have lights (the key card was necessary for both) for a maximum of like 7 minutes so i just cried in the hallway
#the bug was trying to climb up the window our whole train ride#it used our food bag to reach up higher but obviously there was glass#it kept trying for like 20 minutes#until it eventually fell into the bag#and we took the bag around the little airport metro and whatnot and it got a little squished but i did my best to keep it ok#when we got to the hotel room we took out the food for dinner and the bug fell out with it#it was alive so i was happy at first because this was really worrying me (probably bc of period hormones tbh)#but its legs were crushed#and it was very clear it was dying#and i got all emotional because the whole train ride it just wanted to get back outside#so i wanted to put it in the grass. just so it could be outside again#feel the earth and smell the air all that romantic shit idek if bugs could do that or if it was even conscious#but i didn't want it to die in a stuffy hallway is all#so i took it to the elevator but you need the key card to use it#i asked my mom to borrow it for a minute#she said no ofc but i still can't get her reason?? it was night and everyone was going to bed anyway#so what do the lights matter??? we were on the second floor it would've taken like 2 minutes to go downstairs and outside#there was a patch of grass right next to the hotel entrance#but she wouldn't let me so i just. put it down on the carpet. on the side of the hallway so it wouldn't be stepped on#and (again probably because of period hormones) i just sat there and cried about it#and she still wouldn't fuckin let me#in the morning it was dead#i took it outside and put it in the grass.#it haunts me. i still feel so bad about it#my mom's great but like... c'mon. it would've taken 5 minutes.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Was there a way to say it? Would they misunderstand? And many more thoughts crossed your mind while you stood by your door.
Their morning chatter was a background sound to your turbulent mind, but you couldn't help it. The uncomfortable sensation in between your legs didn't let you think straight. You have been horny before, but not like this. Maybe having someone to take care of it had a different effect on your body.
Hormones and probably your period coming next week were good indicators of what had you rubbing your thighs together. You peeked again to see how to approach them, more like who. Telling your horny situation to everyone wasn't going to help get a fast solution; they would end up arguing. As your thoughts continued to wander, a single red eye saw your head peering through the doorframe.
“Y/N, you’re awake, come eat before it gets cold,” Kakucho said, making everyone aware of your presence.
Right now, you could care less about the food, “I’m not hungry-” you were interrupted by multiple voices.
“Nonsense. Y/N, you need to eat,” that was Takeomi.
“Are you feeling alright? Should I call the doctor?” a concerned Kokonoi put down his phone to stare at your head, still peeking from the door.
“Do you want something else? I can get anything you want for breakfast,” Ran was already standing up and looking for his car keys.
“Kakucho cooked; I know you like his food,” Mikey added.
“I can make something else,” mumbled Kakucho, putting the pink apron back on.
“We can have breakfast on the balcony,” said Rindou.
“I can feed you,” Sanzu just wanted to make that clear.
All his voices full of concern made you feel dizzy, it was overwhelming; the throbbing pain on your slit didn't help either, so your following action was out of desperation.
Stalking up to the nearest person, in this case, Rindou, who sat on the couch, you pulled his arm. Almost making him fall on his face from the strength of your sudden movement, “I am horny! Okay?! My- My pussy hurts! And you!” You pointed your finger at Rindou. He looked like a scared puppy being scolded by his owner, “are gonna help me!” You pushed the younger haitani inside your room, slamming the door behind your back.
Everything happened so fast. A deep silence was left behind. Six men looked at the closed door, baffled by your sudden outburst. Not only that, but you were unaware of what your words implicated. Every single man in that room would be glad to help you in your predicament.
“She took my brother,” Ran broke the silence, not believing what just transpired.
“She took your brother!” Sanzu screamed, feeling hurt that you chose Rindou instead of him.
Before anyone else could say anything else, your loud moans invaded the area, making everyone still in the room. In any other situations, you would have been a little quieter, but as frustration grew, so did your screams of pleasure.
“What the hell is Rindou doing?” Kokonoi murmured as the sound of your voice began to affect him.
“Is it me, or is she getting bolder?” Takeomi asked, remembering how you took Rindou a few minutes ago.
“Like you’re not desperate when you have a hard-on,” Kakucho countered, defending your actions.
“Fuck this,” Sanzu said in rage; he stood up and marched up to your door, banging his fist against the hard surface, “Rindou, let me in!” Kakucho, Ran, and Mikey observed the pinknette fight the door.
“He’s busy!” You cried out.
“Sweetcheeks, that's not-” Sanzu groaned at the situation, pants tight; he didn't want to wait, “Rindou, don't ignore me, for fuck’s sake.”
“His mouth is busy- ack!! Rindou!!” You gripped the younger haitani’s head, grinding harder against his face. Rindou wasn't even paying attention to the men outside that door, solely focused on his current task.
“Sanzu,” Mikey called after his number two, “break the door.” Sanzu’s eyes sparkled back to life at his boss's order.
“Koko, we’re waiting again; it's better to let them have their moment,” Takeomi said as he observed how Ran and Kakucho joined Sanzu at your door, and Mikey stood behind them, watching their work.
“I think you're right,” Kokonoi began to type on his phone, once again having to buy another door for your place, “You think I should buy in bulk? I could get a discount,” he mumbled to Takeomi.
“Perhaps that’s a good idea,” Takeomi contemplated the scene unfolding in front of him. Door down. Sanzu... dragging Rindou out by the leg. Kakucho, Ran, and Mikey stepping in, your scream at the commotion, your slipper hitting Ran in the face.
A typical morning at your place, Takeomi thought as he walked to the window, pulling his cigarettes out.

jaein surprises jaebeom for christmas
WARNINGS: pregnancy stuff. yes, I did it.
masterlist 🦋 requests are open feedback is awalys important to me!
Tumblr media
Jaein sat on the bar chairs and bounced her feet up and down as she watched the hour passing by. Two hours never felt so long.
When she was younger, and people would ask her about growing up and having her family, Jaein never denied that was a possible reality to her. 'Maybe’, she'd say. But she never, ever, thought it'd happen so fast.
How was she supposed to do with her career? How are the fans going to react? Somehow all those doubts were gone once she had the results on her hands.
It all started when Jaein realised she was a week late, as she takes a lot of pills to postpone or anticipate her period, Jaein didn't take that as a sign of a human was growing inside her. But then, a week turned into two, and then three, and then a month, and she decided to take a pregnancy test to make sure it was just her hormones.
Positive. That's what the doctor told her hours ago. A soon as she left the doctor's clinic, she gave Jaebeom a quick call, saying they needed to talk. He said he'd be home as soon as he finished the meeting, and there she was.
If it was in any other circumstance, Jaein would consider interrupting this pregnancy. She was young, at the climax of her career, Jaebeom was living the time of his life. Why put a baby in the middle of this? But, coming back to their shared apartment, she pictured a baby in this big penthouse, running and laughing around. She could raise that baby alone if Jaebeom didn't want it, but she wasn't strong enough to end it.
"I'm home!"
Jaebeom's voice echoed through the living room, making her heart stop, and she inconsequentially started crying, hugging the small box with the exam inside. Hearing some low 'meowls', she was sure he stopped halfway to give the cats some attention.
As his steps got louder and closer, Jaein cried even more. It was now or never. When he saw Jaein sitting on the bar, his sweet smile faded into a worried expression.
"Jaein?" he kindly said, placing Nora on the floor before walking over to Jaein. He brought her closer to his chest, and she hugged his waist. "Hey... What happened?"
Jaein took her time there, feeling him closer as if it was the last time because it could probably be. Jaebeom stood there, caressing her hair and letting her cry as much as she wanted, although he couldn't completely understand why.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..." Jaein started mumbling against his shirt, and that was when he got even more confused. She seemed just fine when they talked a couple of hours ago. "I don't want to lose you."
"Anne," he called her attention, bringing her head up with his hand under her chin. "just calm down. I'm not going anywhere."
Jaein shook her head. Unable to do much, she just took the box and showed him, but he placed it back on the bar counter, sitting on the chair next to her.
"Jaein, what is going on?" Jaebeom asked, holding her hands. "I need you to talk to me. Do you want me to call someone?"
"No..." she sobbed. Trying to calm herself down, she cleared some tears that insisted on falling. Once she was calmer, she took the box and handed it to Jaebeom again. "Open it, please."
Still concerned but more worried about her situation, Jaebeom opened it anyway. Of all the things, he couldn't imagine anything inside that box that would make Jaein react like that. Even if he didn't know what was inside, his eyes started tearing up.
He took the papers first and then a stick. Well, at least he thought that was just a stick until he completely looked at it. It was a home pregnancy test. In the results, it had 'pregnant' written. Shocked, Jaebeom looked at the test, and then at Jaein, and then at the test again.
"I-Is this... yours?" he whispered, feeling his voice stuck on his throat.
"Yes." Jaein nodded, starting to cry again. "I took it today."
"Are you pregnant? Like, for real?" he asked again, now looking directly at her. "This isn't one of those pranks, right? There's a mini us growing inside you?"
Jaein gave him a weak laugh but still nodded, confirming the last question.
"Yes, babe. I'm pregnant." she said, sobbing.
Jaebeom literally threw the box away and suddenly got up, lifting and hugging Jaein, surprising her. She had to link her legs behind his waist not to fall. He started laughing with a mix of crying, and she did the same.
"I can't believe it!" he exclaimed, kissing her but then hugging her again. "You are pregnant. That’s the best Christmas gift ever!"
Suddenly, a guilty feeling hit Jaein, and she started crying again. How could she ever think Jaebeom would leave her? When he noticed she was crying, he stopped celebrating and looked at her.
"Why are you crying?" he softly asked, sitting her back on the chair. "Aren't you happy?"
"I am!" she interrupted him, cleaning her tears. "It's just that... What do we do now?"
"About what?" he asked, caressing her arm, trying to make her feel safe.
"About everything." she chuckled. "Our careers, our companies, the fans..."
"Jaein, this isn't about them." Jaebeom held her hand. "This is about us and what we want. You've been working for more than half of your life, nonstop. I've been working since my adolescence. We deserve to have a healthy and happy family."
"But you just started your solo career..." Jaein tried to debate.
"And so did you." he pointed out. "But this," he placed a hand on Jaein's belly. "it's not about our career. It's about our love. If you want this, we'll raise this baby with a lot of love."
"Babies cost a lot of money." Jaein pouted. "They cry all day, and I'll look awful."
Jaebeom looked at her for a while, waiting to see if she was joking or not. When he realised she was talking serious, he laughed out loud. He brought Jaein closer and hugged her again.
"I don't think any of these things are true." he mumbled, kissing the top of her head. "Now, let's take a bath and relax." he said, helping her to get up. "Tomorrow, if you feel calmer and ready, we'll tell the companies and our families. Is that okay?"
Jade nodded, closing her eyes as he placed a kiss on her cheek. Before she opened them, he was fast enough to hold her in a bridal style, making Jaein laugh.
"What are you doing?" she asked, chuckling.
"You'll get easily tired from now. Let's save some energy." Jaebeom replied, winking at her. Jaein lightly slapped his biceps, understanding the double meaning of his phrase.
"This is going to be fun..."

HP Boys: Surprise Pregnancy Head Cannons
Summary: The HP boys and their reaction to their s/o (afab) being pregnant when its not planned.
A/N: This takes place post Hogwarts so all characters are 18+, though no real smut happens in this so its not an 18+ fic.
WARNINGS: UNPLANNED PREGNANCY, MENTIONS OF PRO CHOICE OPINIONS, MENTIONS OF SEX IN LITE TERMS, SWEARING, FLUFF, MENTIONS OF ALCOHOL, ALSO THIS IS SUPER LONG SORRY LOL
Draco
So everything is going great for the happy couple, you two just moved into a flat together and are working normal jobs, drinking wine like adults.
And sure, Draco knows he wants to marry you, but he knows you’re not ready to settle down like that so he just plans and dreams.
Due to poor choices, when you’re late by two weeks, you know what it probably is.
Draco doesn’t even notice that you ran out to the store and came back and hid in the bathroom for 10 minutes. CEO of minding his own business ig
You just kinda...walk up to him and hand him all 3 tests while your eyes fill with tears because what if he demands you get an abortion?
Or what if he fucks off to god knows where?
But instead he just looks at you with the most un-draco like smile. Like his face was soft and it looked like he could cry any moment.
“Oh my god,” He says, putting his hand on your belly, “I can be ready for this, but if you aren’t then we can you know...”
“No, I want it” then both of you rejoice bc yay baby!
Cut to 6 months later when your feet hurt so bad you have to lay down and watch while Draco fails to put a crib together.
He eventually gets it done tho.
And when the time comes, he’s built and arranged everything for your bundle of joy.
Harry
So you guys are probably already married, but with everything at the ministry going on, it makes Harry less than a family man.
You both agree that it’s probably better to wait so you can be home and yk...raise it.
Well smart man Harry forgets that to not have a kid you need to use protection.
So of course when your period is late you don’t think about it, until its four weeks late.
That night, you and Harry are laying in bed, and thats when you tell him.
“Harry..I’m late.”
“Late for what?” headass.
You: 😳😐
Him: 👁👁😲😲
He’s hesitant to say anything, because he knows its ultimitley up to you what happens with it until its out.
“I think I want to keep it...you know it wont remember much for the first year and a half so if things are stressful it will be okay and-“
“Love...Its going to be perfect”
Mf built the crib in like 45 minutes I swear.
And of course he forced you to keep up with your vitamins, pre natal care, and appointments.
Swear tho you’re about to kill him because cofFeE
But the way he holds your baby 🥺 its his most valued thing ever now.
Ron
Ron is iffy on the kid thing sometimes.
He does want them, but only later when you guys have lived and travled.
So no, you two haven’t planned nor is it even in the picture when your wedding roles around.
It’s in the early days of the marriage when you see his family at the burrow on the way back from the honeymoon.
And of course Molly knows
Because Weasleys are hyperfertile I swear.
She takes you into the kitchen and puts her hands on your arms, shes got that big Mrs.Weasley smile on too.
“I knew it!” She says and pulls you in for a hug, “How far dear??”
You’re just standing there like🧍🏻
“I can see it by the way you glow! Oh my you and my Ron must be so happy!” This woman doesn’t notice that you’re confused.
“Wait what? Mrs. Weasley what are you-?” Then you count the days, “Oh. Well I guess I just found out for myself”
Her face falls slightly, but then she tells you can make you a potion that will tell you if you are or not, stan.
The stupid potion turns green when you spit into it, so everything is confirmed.
That night, you and Ron are getting ready for bed in the guest room and you decide to tell him.
“Ron, sweetie. We need to talk.” He looks like he’s gonna start crying but sits next to you on the bed.
“Y/N...I know its scary but please, we just got married I don’t want to divorce quite just yet 🥺🥺”
“Ron I-“ you start smiling, “I’m pregnant you dufus.”
He just freezes, for a while. Not saying anything, he just looks at the wall with his mouth ajar.
So you get up and go to Ginny.
“Gin, I broke him.”
“Ew, I don’t want to know about how you and him”
“No, I told him that I’m pregnant.”
“Oh, yeah that would do it. Just I don’t know... Give him a minute?”
You give him several, getting a glass of water then heading back up to the room.
Ginny was right, he needed a minute.
“I don’t...I wasn’t...you were.?”
“You don’t have to stay, but I think we can do it. Plus, you would disapoint your mom if you left so...”
“Okay...we’ll do it. I’ll be the best damn Father you have ever seen.” He says, talking to your womb.
Well...he’s a father I’ll give him that.
Pro of having a Weasley baby: free crib thats already put together.
Even if it looks like a death trap.
“We’ll put some blankets over it don’t worry”
You know how some Dads hold their parters hand during the delivery? Yeah he got sick and was moral support from the outside.
To be fair, you weren’t screaming in pleasure by any means.
Scary. But beautiful.
He shows the kid to everyone, he might be more in love with the baby than he is with you.
Ron see’s the appeal of having kids now.
Neville
Moving in with your boyfriend is always fun, right up until you guys go at it so much you forget protection more than once.
You think about it, then move on with your day.
Until the doctor calls, then “oh fuck”
Romance Neville bf
“Why aren’t you having any wine? I thought it was your favorite?”
“I don’t think fetal alcohol syndrome is my favorite.” BRO HE SPAT
But he looks up with tears in his eyes, and runs over to you to grasp you in a hug.
“Oh my god! You’re pregnant! Oh my - We’re gonna be parents!! Oh my god we’re gonna be parents oh-“ Que you petting his hair till he’s calm again.
Lets be honest, this man probably swapped the herbology books for the parenting guides.
“Well I mean I’m just wondering if we should go with this color or this one”
“Nev, it doesn’t matter. Our baby will not care.”
“I read in my book that Infants actually can recognize mood in-“
He won’t let you do anything during your pregnancy.
Gotta love a man who cries because he loves you so much and you’re having his kid.
“I never had a father, what if I do it wrong? What if the baby hates me and runs away at seven?”
“We’ve got quite a lot of time before then.”
He was there during delivery, letting you crush his hand like a champ.
You can’t help but cry when you see him sleeping on the floor next to the crib, its so sweet.
Fred
You two most likely already had two kids, so you decided to wait a bit so your hands weren’t quite full.
Well...your body decided not to wait.
A test provides the two lines, another wild child.
The two toddlers already run around like thing one and thing two, only with red hair.
I think Fred would gladly make the family dinner, and wear an apron. He’d own it, as he should.
But mf gotta not drop the salad bowl when you tell him of the fetus inside you.
“Fred we are going to have a bee-ay-bee-why.”
Your five year old has just begun to spell 😐
He’s happy tho.
Like over the fuckin moon.
He buys the two kids big brother/sister shirts too 🥺🥺
He knows the drill pretty well, so he isn’t too worried about the future.
But its funny that he still freaks out about the crib and feeding chair since he gave it away, you know because you guys werent having another kid.
He packed a hospital bag and kept it in the trunk, counting down the days.
Hours of delivery (He just sat back and held your hand) only to end up with a room full of 7 Weasley family members.
Fred always said that 3 was his lucky number :)
George
You guys were taking it slow, no marriage until you both felt it was time. And certainly no children before that.
Well you know...things changed when the test was positive.
You slid it over on the table, tears pooling in your eyes. He was stunned and quiet, which made you burst out sobbing because you knew that neither of you planned on having a baby.
But to your surprise he starts to smile.
“I want whatever you want, I’m staying by your side no matter what.”
“I mean...would it really be so bad? A house, a kid, a dog?” He holds your hand as you think aloud.
You both give it a week to think it over and the virdict is to keep it.
Thats when he decides he has to marry you, asap because he loves you and will never let you go especially now.
He loves to gush about the carrier of his child, to him you are a godess.
He’s the Dad with a predestination complex.
“Y/N, I just see him being a star quiditch player”
“George, we don’t know if it’s a him.”
He rolls his eyes “Okay then I can see her being a star-“
He made Hermione take you out for a movie date so he could rearrange your bedroom, since you only had a single bedroom flat.
You come back to a new set up including a cot.
Damn pregnancy hormones make brain go 🥺😭😭
He freaks when your water breaks lol
ceo of driving like a maniac to the hospital.
He can’t hold your hand, he’s pacing back and forth, sweating and maybe crying though he’ll never admit to it.
You get the joy of watching him cuddle the baby while refusing to give your child to you.
“George I’d like to hold-“
“No, you need your sleep honey, don’t worry”
Hogging the child.
Cedric
Its no secret that Cedric wants a baby someday.
And he makes it clear your wedding will be spectacular too.
However, finding out you’re pregnant the week of your dream wedding was a shock.
A shock that made you bang your head into the wall because how could you be so stupid?? We had a plan??
So you decide to wait until after the wedding, that way it wont add onto the stress (happy stress) of the wedding.
Cedric keeps trying to fill your glass at the reception, to which you kindly refuse saying you want to remember the night entirely.
Yeah he’s like 🤨 mhm okay.
You can only pick at the dinner because ew salmon doesn’t sound like an option if you want to keep the contents of your stomach.
As everyone waves goodbye to the car, and you both set off into married life, he leans over.
“I may be out of my mind, but are you...?”
“Pregnant.” His face lights up, pulling you into a hug.
Finally, your car pulls up to a small cottage with lush garden scapes all around, putting a hand out, he walks you both from the car to the door.
“Ced, where are we?”
“Home.”
Somehow it was perfect with Cedric, even when it was rushed.
He loved talking to your womb, even if it was weird that he was talking about the babies future brothers and sisters.
“Cedric, slow down. We haven’t even had this one yet”
Basically he is father of the year before he’s a full father.
He’s there while you deliver, holding your hand and telling you how great you’re doing.
He doesn’t even complain when you insult him <3.
He updates you on everything.
If his eyes aren’t on that child, he’s either asleep or dead.
I think Cedric was meant to be a family man, because he loves everything about being one.

Once a Month
Colson doesn’t understand why you’re acting so strange, so you have to explain that your monthly visitor has arrived.
Request: “Hi, I love your writing! If you want to write something like that, I have a suggestion: Not to be mean but I think Colson can be really dumb/ignorant about stuff that doesn’t concern him. Idk maybe hes in a relationship with the reader and doesn’t understand stuff that comes with being a women, either period stuff or body hair stuff idk? And he hurts her with commenting about it without noticing? And please fluff in the end where he gets educated”
Colson x Reader
Warnings: Cursing, fighting, talking about periods, a single sexual reference
A/N: I don’t know how this got so long...
Word Count: 2945
Tumblr media
Having a vagina really fucking sucks sometimes. Specifically, for one week a month, when your body decided it needed to bleed out of said vagina for a whole week. No period was easy, and yours was no exception. But getting your period while living in a house with a bunch of guys, who all had dicks, was a nightmare. It seemed like no one knew what you were going through physically and emotionally. You had been on Depo-Provera since you met Colson, so you had never been on your period around him. But your doctor decided to take you off of it because your bone mineral content was getting too low. So here you were, 6 months later, and getting your first period post- birth control.
You had a more hormonal period, meaning you were constantly jumping from one mood to another. Today was your third day, and you wanted to rip your uterus out. You were sitting on the couch, curled up next to Colson as a movie played on the TV. Your cramps were killing you, so you weren’t really paying attention to anything that was happening.
You heard someone say something about a club, and you assumed they were suggesting going to a club, even though they went last night, and the night before, and the night before. And normally you would be down for clubbing with your boyfriend and your friends, but today the stabbing pain in your abdomen told you “no,” just as it had for the past few days.
All the guys had agreed, their eyes landing on you and waiting for a response. “Uh, I’m not really feeling it tonight, guys.”
Colson rolled his eyes, “you haven’t been feeling it all week.” He complained and you frowned.
“I just don’t want to go tonight.” You mumbled, a little angry that he would start an argument in front of all the guys.
“Why do you have to be such a buzzkill?” He complained, the arm that was previously wrapped around you pulled away. “You’ve been in a shitty mood all week, it’s fucking annoying.”
You bit your lip, feeling tears biting at your eyes. You weren’t sure if you were upset or angry, or both. But you knew it wouldn’t be pretty to keep this conversation going. “Whatever, have fun.” You scoffed, the anger taking over. You rolled your eyes and stood up, walking to yours and Colson’s shared bedroom. You made it just past the doorway when the tears started rolling down your face.
You closed the door behind you and shut the light off before trying to muffle your cries with the sleeve of Colson’s shirt that you were wearing. You laid down on the bed, facing away from the door in an almost fetal position. The tears didn’t stop, and all you could focus on was Colson’s anger towards you. Why couldn’t you just be a good girlfriend and go with him? Why did you have to be a buzzkill?
You heard the garage open and shut, signaling that the group had left for the club. He’s probably going to find a girl to hook up with tonight. Your brain told you, making you cry even harder.
And then you felt guilty for thinking that. Wow, you really think so low of Colson that you think he’d cheat on you. You really are the world’s worst girlfriend.
Every thought spiraled into another, until you decided to watch TV to distract yourself. It worked pretty well, your period head being happy from the dopamine you got while watching The Good Place. But, like all good things, your happy mood came to an end when you heard the garage door open hours later.
You looked at your phone, realizing it was already 3am. You had hoped to be asleep when Colson got home, but you hadn’t managed to drift off to sleep, probably because you’d taken a nap at 2pm earlier. You sighed, preparing for the mess that was about to come through the door.
And like you had summoned him; Colson came stumbling through the door of your bedroom. “Why are you still awake?” He grumbled, stripping his shirt off.
You shrugged, pausing Chidi’s rant about the ethics of truth. “Couldn’t sleep.” Colson sat on the edge of his side of the bed, tattooed back facing you, typing on his phone. The smell of alcohol and weed coming from him made you feel queasy. “You should take a shower.”
Colson stood back up, throwing his phone on the nightstand, and taking off his jeans. “I’ll take one in the morning.” You shut the TV off, laying down fully in the bed to face your boyfriend. He pulled the comforter back, climbing into the bed beside you and pulling you into his arms.
You pushed him away, the smell even worse now. Colson tsked at you, glaring at you as you scrunched your nose up in disgust. “What the fuck is your problem?” You rolled onto your side, your back facing him. “Is this because I called you a buzzkill earlier? It’s not that serious.” He rolled his eyes, even though you couldn’t see him, and flipped onto his back.
“It’s not but thanks for bringing it up.” You mumbled, still turned away from him. Your mind wandered back to the conversation earlier in the evening, and you got upset about it all over again.
Colson sighed, his hands moving to rub his face. “Then please, tell me what I did this time.” He sat up, flicking on the lamp beside him to light up the room. You groaned, burying your head into your pillow.
“You just smell.” You mumbled into the fabric.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” He mumbled to himself, but you still heard it, “You’re mad at me because I smell?”
You let out an annoyed sigh, “I’m not mad at you, I just can’t stand the smell of you right now. It’s making me sick.” You could feel his temper rising even though you couldn’t see him. The feeling made you want to cry.
“Seriously, Y/N? What the fuck is up with you lately? You’ve been acting like a bitch all week.” Now that did make you cry. You sat up, grabbing your pillow and your phone and standing up, walking towards the door. “Where are you going?” Colson asked, more annoyed then concerned.
Colson couldn’t see your face, but he could hear your sniffle as you opened the closet and pulled down an extra blanket. “I’m sleeping on the couch.” You continued your trek to the door, pausing as your hand touched the handle, “Sorry for being such a shitty girlfriend.” You muttered, opening the door and leaving the room.
You threw the pillow onto the couch, laying down and pulling the blanket over you.  Your hand came up to your mouth as you muffled your sobs again, hoping no one else in the house could hear you. Colson sat in his bed, staring at the door that you just left through with a confused expression. You’d gotten into worse fights before and you hadn’t cried then, what was so different now?
He threw his head back onto the bed, a frustrated groan leaving his mouth. He was in no state to convince you back to bed, and he knew you wouldn’t listen to him anyways, so he turned the lamp off and tried to go to sleep.
You woke up at 7 the next morning due to your cramps feeling like someone was stabbing you from inside your body. You knew you wouldn’t go back to sleep, and the pain was intense, but the only anti-inflammatory medication in the house was in yours and Colson’s bathroom, which meant you would have to go through the room to get it. And you were very determined to not go in there, assuming he was probably still mad at you. You didn’t think you could handle him yelling at you again.
But after an hour and a half of trying to distract yourself with your phone, you felt like you were gonna throw up if you didn’t take any meds. So, you dragged yourself off the couch, walking into the kitchen to grab a piece of bread (don’t take anti-inflammatories on an empty stomach y’all) and shoving it in your mouth. It wasn’t the best thing in the world to eat at 8:30 in the morning, but it would be enough to prevent the Aspirin from fucking up your stomach.
You shuffled to your room, hesitantly reaching for the door handle. You knew Colson would be asleep, but you were still shaking with anxiety. Taking a deep breath, you slowly opened the door, relaxing a bit when you saw your boyfriend sleeping. You stepped lightly, trying to be as quiet as possible as you crossed the room to the bathroom.
Once in the tiled room you shuffled through the drawers, trying to find the bottle that would magically relieve your pain. You frowned as you pulled open the fourth drawer, still not finding the bottle. You were sure you had a bottle in here somewhere.
“Babe?” Shit. Colson’s morning voice called from the bed. You peaked your head out of the bathroom, his eyes finding yours.
“Sorry, I’m just looking for the Aspirin.” You said quietly, moving back into the bathroom to continue your search.
“It’s in here.” Of course it’s in there, why wouldn’t it be in there?
You trudged out of the bathroom, finding the bottle in his hands. You flashed him a small smile, grabbing the bottle from his hands. Any thoughts of last night momentarily left your mind as you poured two tablets into your hand. “Everything okay?” Colson sat up, watching as you moved towards your side of the bed.
“Yeah.” You said, walking to your nightstand to grab the water that you keep there. You swallowed the pills, looking at Colson’s concerned face. “I’m fine, just cramps.”
Looking at his face made your heart fall. Even when you two were fighting he was worried about you. “Can we talk about last night?” You asked, realizing you needed to address your argument. Colson nodded, reaching to pull you onto the bed. You loved morning Colson; he was very cuddly.
You happily moved into his arms, your chest pressed against his back, his arms around your middle, and head resting against yours. “I’m sorry I got so upset.” You mumbled. “My hormones are making me an emotional wreck. I forgot how bad they could get.”
“What do you mean?” He asked, looking down at you. There was concern in his eyes, but a lot of confusion.
You tilted your head, realizing he hadn’t pieced things together. “You know, my period hormones.” He furrowed his eyebrows and you laughed softly. “Oh my god have you never experienced this with a girl?”
He frowned, “No. I thought your birth control stopped your periods?”
“Yeah, but remember I had to stop taking it a few months ago? It’s finally fully out of my system.”
He nodded, “Wait so what does your period have to do with hormones?”
You tilted your head back so your crown fell against his chest as you tried not to laugh. “You know how people always ask a girl if she’s on her period when she gets really mad or upset?” Colson nodded, his eyes trained on you, listening attentively. “Well, its because when you get your period, for the last few days leading up to it and the first few days you’re on it, certain hormone levels are low. So, you’re really sensitive emotionally. The levels raise throughout your cycle, so you get less irritable after the first few days, but its still not necessarily fun.”
“So, when I complained about you not wanting to go out…”
“I got really upset. I mean I would’ve gotten upset either way, but I probably would’ve brushed it off normally.” You laced your fingers through his. “And the reason I didn’t want to go out was because I could barely stand up, much less go out and party.”
“Wait actually?” He seemed genuinely concerned.
You chuckled a little at his childlike wonder of your period. “Yeah, even if I take medicine my cramps kill me. And I’m either really tired or really awake most of the time.”
“Where are your cramps?” He asked, and you moved his hands towards your lower stomach. “Here?” You nodded, and he started massaging the area softly, easing some of the pain. “Is that helpful or does it make it worse?” He asked.
You hummed, “very helpful.” He continued his motions and you kept explaining. “Heat also helps. I used to have a hot water bottle but I got rid of it since I wasn’t getting my periods anymore. And I haven’t felt good enough to go to the store and get another.”
He kissed the skin behind your ear, resting his head there. “You should’ve told me, babe. I would’ve gotten you one.” You shrugged, smiling at his worry. “I wouldn’t’ve been such a dick, too.” He mumbled.
You turned your body to face him, wrapping your hands around his neck, “you didn’t know, babe. It’s okay. But maybe you shouldn’t be a dick even when I’m not on my period.” You gave him a wide, sarcastic smile.
“I know, I’m sorry.” He whispered, a frown on his face. You leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “Is there anything else I should know about your period?”
“I get really bad cravings, like chocolate, candy, salty food, literally anything. And it’s always random.”
He pecked your lips, “Tell me what you want and I’ll get it for you.” You smiled, closing your eyes, and resting your forehead against his.
“Oh, and we can’t have sex.” He pulled away from you, a confused look on his face. “Babe, I’m bleeding out of my vagina. It would be really really gross.”
“But that doesn’t mean we can’t do other things, right?” He tilted his head, smirking.
“Don’t ask me to blow you while I’m on my period. If I want to, I’ll tell you.” You giggled. “Seriously, this shit sucks.”
“You’re telling me.” He chuckled and you slapped his chest lightly. “I’m kidding.” He pulled you closer to him so your head was pressed against his chest. You could hear his heartbeat and it made you smile. “Whatever you need, just tell me and I’ll do it.” He mumbled; lips pressed against your hair.
You looked up at him, pressing a kiss to his jaw. “You could take a shower?” You asked sweetly.
He laughed, “was that a period thing too?”
You nodded, “yeah I get sick really easily. I can’t go in a car unless I’m driving because I get too nauseous. Some smells can set me off too.”
He nodded, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head. “Hey, just promise me one thing?” You looked up at him, urging him to continue. “Next time something’s wrong, tell me, please? I know you’re my soulmate and everything but I can’t read your mind.”
Your eyes widened when he said that, cheeks turning red. “You really think that?” You asked in awe.
“Of course I think that. You’re literally my perfect half. You get along with all my friends, you take care of Casie like she’s your own kid, you put up with all of my shit. I dunno, I just feel like we were made for each other.” You leaned up, pulling him in for a long, sweet kiss.
“I am so in love with you.” You whisper as you pulled away. “Like so so so in love with you.” You smiled.
He kissed you again, a smile on his face. “Oh, one more thing.” He said, and you hummed in response. “Next time we have a fight, don’t walk out on me, please? I don’t want us to go to sleep mad at each other.”
You nodded, moving your arms to take his hands in yours. “I won’t. I promise.” You whispered. “Can you promise me something?” You looked up at him, his eyes entrancing yours. “If we are fighting, can we not do it in front of our friends?”
He nodded, kissing you once more. “Promise.”
“Do you have plans today?” You asked.
“I don’t think so.”
“Can we stay in bed and cuddle all day?” You gave him your best puppy dog eyes and he broke out into a smile.
He nodded, “We can do whatever you want to do, sweetheart.” You smiled, practically tackling him back onto the bed so you were laying down, you clinging to him like a Koala bear. “I’ll send Irv and Baze to the store in a while for you.”
You rolled your eyes, smiling into his neck. “I would complain that you should do it yourself, but that would require you leaving me, and that’s not happening anytime soon.” Colson opened his mouth to say something, but you cut him off, “except for you taking a shower. I have not forgotten.”
“Damn.”
You giggled, sticking to his chest as he sat up, trying to get out of bed. “You say you want me to shower but you’re making it impossible to get out of bed.”
“You have to be nice to me, I’m on my period.” You smiled up at him.
He shook his head, chuckling. “Fine, I guess I’ll just bring you into the shower with me.”
“I’m not complaining. But I’m just warning you I’m bloated as hell right now.”
“And yet you’re still the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen.”

world’s greatest dad | Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales x Reader
A/N: I wanted to write this when I did that dumb ‘Telling Pedro characters you’re pregnant’ thing lol
Rating: T
Warning: Accidental pregnancy. Naughty words. Little sexual references.
Word count: 1,560, apparently!!
Summary: You’re pregnant, but you and Frankie weren’t trying and you’re terrified to tell him.
Tumblr media
GIF credit: @damerondjarin
                                          ------------------------------
You wondered if the little box under the sink was expired or something.
You’d bought them a couple years ago, two and a half months after moving in with Frankie when you realized your period was off; he sat next to you on the edge of the tub, chewing on his thumb nail as you waited the three minutes and sighing happily when there was only one line on the stick, and these tests must’ve been expired by now, right?
You looked at the box eight times now and each time it was printed on there that they were a year out from no longer working properly, which meant the two little lines on the stick on the counter were accurate.
You were pregnant.
When you’d taken that test all those years ago, you and Frankie were terrified because you’d only been together for a little over a year and you’d just taken the step of moving in together.
We’ll figure it out, he said to try and calm your sobbing as you apologized for the possibility of being pregnant.
It was the first time you really talked about kids once you knew you weren’t pregnant and you agreed that later, someday, you would like a couple of them.
Was two years later someday enough? Were you and Frankie in a place where you wanted and could care for a child?
The subject of kids popped up every so often, but you definitely weren’t trying and that made you scared to tell him. You remembered how nervous he was even though he’d been trying to pretend it was fine if you were pregnant to keep you calm, and you wondered what he’d think since you were actually pregnant this time.
Being together another couple years didn’t mean he wanted a baby now, especially since you were both still fairly smitten with each other and enjoying living together, occasionally traveling somewhere whether it was for an anniversary or vacation.
Part of you didn’t even want to tell him, wanted to throw the test in the trash and throw the trash into a landfill and pretend you didn’t know anything about being pregnant or not.
But another part of you was staring at yourself in the mirror, a hand on your belly as if you could see any evidence of pregnancy when you were probably no more than a month and a half or so, thinking about how there was a baby in there. Frankie’s baby. And you loved Frankie so much that some whimsical part of your brain thought that this would be nice.
You thought of him holding a tiny baby that looked like both of you and you knew you had to tell him even if you were scared what he might think of this.
He’d figure it out anyway when a human being pushed out of your vagina or needed to be cut out of you, and he would probably be much more nervous at that than you telling him yourself.
Frankie was a good man and you knew he loved you, and if he was willing to figure out how to raise a baby when you weren’t together for long then he’d figure it out now, but you supposed everyone was a little hesitant when telling someone you created a little life together.
The idea of telling him in a cute way made you a little more eager to tell him, thinking that it might convince him a little more that a baby was a good thing if he was that terrified; you bought him a hat that said ‘World’s Greatest Dad’ on it and put it in a lime green gift bag.
You were practicing your little speech that you’d say to him — if, “Congrats, Daddy. I’m pregnant,” counted as a speech — when he walked into the apartment, taking his keys out of his pocket to set in a dish by the door and stepping out of his boots.
He walked over to where you were standing by the dining table and he kissed your cheek like always. “Hey, baby.”
You stared at him. What if he didn’t want a baby? What if he was so angry at you for being pregnant that he didn’t kiss your cheek anymore?
Was this what pregnancy hormones did to all women or were you just an overthinker?
You were so overwhelmed and perhaps a bit hormonal that you started sobbing, making Frankie look at you with wide eyes.
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” He gently grabbed onto your face, making you look up at him as tears streamed down your cheeks.
“I’m preg—pregnant.” Your voice was shaking and laced with tears.
Frankie’s hands fell away from your face immediately and he stepped back, staring at you for a long moment. You kept crying as he slowly took off his hat, wringing it, practically crushing it in his hands. “You’re serious?”
You nodded, sobbing. “I’m sorry, I know we weren’t ready to try yet and we were...we were being careful, but I guess my birth control messed up for some reason and the test...it’s here…I…” You pulled the test from the back pocket of your jeans and showed it to him, as much as you could with your hands trembling like they were. “And—and—and I checked, and the tests are still good, so I really am pregnant, Frankie, and I understand if you’re mad at me. If you don’t want anything to do with the baby or me.”
That was...a lot. His brain seemed to be working a little slowly with all you were saying, some of your words unintelligible with your crying that he had to figure out. He stayed quiet, taking the test from you and looking at the obvious two lines on the stick that indicated you were indeed pregnant.
“Okay,” he said slowly, putting the test and his hat down on the table and stepping closer to you, gently cupping your face and running his thumbs over your cheeks to wipe your tears. “First of all, why would I be mad at you? You didn’t get pregnant by yourself, I’m pretty sure I was in there at some point.” He smiled slightly as his words made you let out a little laugh. “Second of all, this could...this could be a good thing. If you think it’s a good thing, then it’s a good thing.”
“Really?” You kept your eyes on his chest, pulling on the lapels of his jacket to straighten it out a little.
“You love me, right?” He moved his hands down your neck and shoulders then squeezed your upper arms.
“You know I do.” You moved your hands under his jacket, caressing his sides.
“I love you, so this baby’s gonna be loved, too.” He frowned a little when you started to cry again. “Listen, we’re not strapped for cash or anything, we can deal with this even if we weren’t trying for a baby. My job pays well, your job pays well, and even when you have to take off to have the baby, we’ll be fine.”
“We live in a one bedroom apartment and we just renewed the lease and—” You dissolved into sobs again when he pulled you against his chest, shushing your fears.
“So the kid’ll sleep with us for a few months, then we’ll...find a house. With a yard they can play in and we’ll finally be able to get a dog…”
You liked that thought, nuzzling into his chest. “That does sound nice.”
“If you wanna do this, I wanna do this. You were kind of freaking out there, so you need to tell me where you’re at with this.”
“I was...terrified, because we weren’t trying for a baby and I thought you’d be mad at me, but I don’t know...I like that there’s a little Frankie in my belly right now.”
“—fuck, baby.” You could tell by the sound of his laugh that he was tearing up.
You pulled away a bit to look up at him, your hands now sliding up his shirt to tickle him lightly. “I wanted to tell you in a cute way and instead I cried all over you.”
“I hate seeing you cry, but you’re still cute when you do. How were you gonna tell me?”
Frankie watched you pull away to grab the gift bag off the table, smirking at you and mumbling about how vibrant the color was as he took it. As he took the hat out of the bag and read it, a tear fell from his eye. “Shit.”
“Aw, Frankie,” you were crying again, what with the hormones and seeing your boyfriend emotional over being the world’s greatest dad, and you stroked his cheek gently.
“Now this you can blame yourself for, making me upset with all your crying then buying me this damn hat.” He kissed your head.
You nudged him, taking the hat from him and placing it on his head. It fit perfectly without adjusting the strap, like it was made for him.
He looked at you with a lopsided smile and you could almost see him looking like the proud father he’d be, holding his newborn baby.
His eyes widened when you started crying harder.
“Wait, baby, no, I can take it off!”

Peter Parker - Baby on board
Tumblr media
This is quite long, so sorry in advance. I’ve worked really hard on this, so I hope you like it!
Plot: An unplanned pregnancy is what you least expect at sixteen, but when it comes knocking on your door you can’t pretend you’re not home
or
A six steps guide of how to deal with an unplanned, teenage pregnancy
Warnings: teenage pregnancy
1.       Self-denial and isolation.
They came together, hand in hand with the pink stick that you considered to have ruined your life in that moment. In the bathroom of that mall, where you had managed to sneak from your parents and with Peter, they knocked on the door and decided to stay. An unplanned pregnancy was something bad itself, and it felt as if to you it was even worse; just sixteen, in highschool and with conservative parents that didn’t let Peter spend the night in your house.
“Hey” Peter wrapped his shaky, pale fingers around your wrist, making you look away from the pregnancy test. He wasn’t much better; while you were letting the moment catch up with you, he already had tears on his eyes. “Sometimes – sometimes they’re wrong”
“It’s the third” you croaked out, pointing with your chin to the nasty bin where two positive test were buried.
“Yeah, but it can be, uh… something about you?”
“Like being pregnant?” you snapped at him.
“No! I mean, like – I – hormones?”
Peter was the last person to blame in that situation, but you felt like smashing his head against the bathroom door. The September warm wind was seeping through the small window, making sweat ran down your neck. You felt all clammy and sweaty, as if a bath would solve every problem you had. Probably, only a trip to the past and a few smacks to your past-self was the only solution.
Your phone beeped once more, and Peter was faster than you that time. He gripped the stick that was resting on your backpack and stared at it; with the dim light of the stingy cubicle, you knew the answer was the same.
It had been just one time, and you weren’t even sure that the condom broke before he took it out. You had convinced yourself that it was like that and you hadn’t bought the pill for the next day, sure that it had been just one time. And now, you were in a fake date with Peter to buy some pregnancy test to confirm what your period had screamed at you the past week.
“They can be still wrong” Peter whispered. He was sitting on the ground, forgetting about how dirty it was when the first test came back positive. “Maybe you’re ovulating, or – t-there ar-re some… some…”
“Just shut up” your voice broke and someone squeezed his throat between their fingers. “Shut up”
You got up from the toilet seat and took your backpack abruptly from the ground. The door hit the other side of the bathroom and an old lady who was washing her hands jumped surprised. You didn’t apologize or looked at her, just kept your eyes on the ground while the tears filled them. Peter fell to the ground trying to get up and gathering the two last tests in his hands at the same time, and the old lady emitted a low protest.
Hurried steps followed you through the mall, where no one bothered to pay attention to two distressed teenagers. Peter called your name a few times, until you reached the mechanic stairs and a group of people were in between. You kept walking, faster than what the stairs moved, and by the time you had left the mall, Peter was just ending the stairs.
With the two positive pregnancy tests still on his hand.
2.       Anger and sadness
This step came from none of you; and if it did, you couldn’t have known since you spent the next three weeks locked in your room with your phone off. Peter came and went, even May stopped once or twice. But with the excuse of having a bad fight, your parents didn’t let them in – because they hadn’t really liked Peter from the start, a boy who was too normal and common for them. Your friends called, and whatever excuse Peter had told them seemed to work for a while. Still, the school year was starting and you had to go back at some point.
The anger came one morning, still new to throwing up and feeling as if someone else was controlling your body. Your father wasn’t home, it was your mother who heard you and helped you. And she knew, from the moment she held your hair up to the talk with your father that night. He hadn’t been always the loving dad you had wanted, but that night he was the farthest from it.
He gripped your arm until it bruised and forced you into the car, from where he took you to a private doctor. The man confirmed what you already knew – that yes, you were pregnant. It was then when you realized that you were pregnant, with a baby and that you were just sixteen.
“I can abort it” you said to your father for the thousand time, tears rolling down your cheeks. “Please, dad. Please – I will get rid of it, no one –“
“Will ever know? That’s what you want to say?” he screamed back. “We already know, Y/N! And that’s enough!”
He didn’t mention who was the father, because he already knew. Peter Parker, the boy who came one night to have dinner and stuttered too much for his liking. That lived with his aunt in a shitty apartment in Queens, and that was the most common teenager he had seen. As if he could already see the baby, your father glared with all the disgust he could muster to your stomach.
It didn’t matter if you promised to go to the clinic that same night again, and got rid of the baby as soon as possible. For all he cared, there was no going back.
“Take the bags!” he screamed once more, and for more purpose kicked the last of them out of the house. “And I swear, if I ever see you or that boy around, I will –“
“Mom” you cried out for your mother, who was behind him; with the same stone cold look from that morning. “Mom, please. Don’t kick me out. I don’t have anywhere to go, I don’t –“
The door closing was the only answer they gave you, and you fell to your knees in sobs and breathless cries. The night closed around you when, just a second after, someone inside turned off the lights of the porch, leaving you completely alone in the dark street. If your neighbours had heard the argument, they didn’t care about it. And it didn’t surprise you, because you had known all your life what type of friends your parents had.
You sat on the short stairs of your house, all your thoughts going to the barely there baby. You hated, screamed silently and cursed it before the birth, willing to walk yourself to the other side of the town and get rid of it. Thoughts about doing it yourself crossed your mind – you had heard from social media some ways to do so. You could spend the night somewhere, or just walking around, and the next day you could find something to do it. Your phone was still charged, and you checked the time.
When you did so, just as if your guardian anger was watching over you, the screen lighted up and Peter’s name appeared on the screen. More sobs broke through your body as you stared at the phone, and with shaky hands you unlocked it.
You bit your fist to avoid more sounds getting out, but Peter was silent. Too surprised about you finally picking up for the first time in three weeks, he realized he didn’t know what to do.
He had needed his own time to accept the news, and the biggest scolding from May when he told her. But from the moment you had told him between classes, he had known that you wouldn’t be alone.
“I didn’t think you would pick up” Peter said, voice quiet and soft. There was no hint of anger or disappointment for isolation yourself, as you have thought. “I was, uh… I stopped by a few times. Your dad threatened to call the police on me and May. I’m sorry”
“He’s an idiot” you whispered back.
You stared at the ground in front of you, where one of your bags had fallen open. Your cheerleader uniform was peeking through, another problem to add to the list. There were so many things an unplanned pregnancy meant that you couldn’t imagine even half of it.
Three weeks of isolation had only served to make things worse and, as you realized in that moment, to lose the only person who was willing to stay by your side.
“If you want, we could – maybe, meet or something in –“
“My parents kicked me out” you interrupted him, letting it sound clearly that you had been crying. “They found out and they kicked me out. And they don’t care if I get rid of it, because they said that the damage is already done”
You talked fast and barely breathing between facts. Peter already knew your parents and how they worked and thought, and it wasn’t probably a surprise. Why you hadn’t told them sooner they news, you didn’t know. The nagging thoughts about your previous wild decision came back, and you decided Peter not only had the right to know, but probably knew better.
Peter Parker, the sweetest boy with the biggest smile that dated the cheerleaders captain. You thought about how the first time he talked to you the neck of his shirt was wrinkled around his blue sweater, and how everything fell out of his backpack when you approached him in class.
Truly, there was only one person you wanted then.
“I was thinking about doing it myself, and by thinking I mean thinking really hard. Maybe – some YouTube video, or… something” you kept talking. “But I’m not sure if it’s safe, because on Twitter there was a trend where girls talked about mortal abortions.”
“I can be there in ten minutes” he stated when you finished. “Don’t hang up”
3.       Acceptation.
Peter and you made a list of things that an unplanned pregnancy meant, listening to May who tried to help you as much as she could. The poor woman was barely making it to the end of the month for two; and now, she had another person in her small apartment. But she hadn’t listened to any of your complains, just hugged you tight and you that that, when something doesn’t have a solution, what you have to do is roll with it the best you can.
She declined every protest that went through your mouth, and threatened to put spicy on your food if you didn’t told her your needs. Besides acting like a mother of two teenagers and taking care of an unplanned pregnancy, she tried to give advice too.
That was why she suggested to make a list of the things you knew and those that you would need to face. You sat on Peter’s bed, your new favourite place, and took your blue notebook, opening it from the back. The boy was sitting beside you, as close as possible. While he had lost weight in the last month because of the stress, his grip on your tight was strong.
“Where do we start?” you asked him, looking at the empty whiteness.
“There is a baby in you” Peter said, and you emitted a small chuckle. “What? We have to write things that we know about it, and that’s a good way to start!”
You looked at Peter briefly, and found him smiling. Without you knowing or noticing, it was the first time he did so since your period didn’t appear. The constant guilt and feeling like everything was his fault was present more than ever, and he could count with the fingers of one hand how much sleep he got in a week.
Still, with a small smile on his lips, Peter took the pen and the notebook and wrote down ‘there is a baby in there’. His calligraphy was shaky and, because he wrote too quickly, you could barely understand it. The words flew before you could stop them.
“The baby’s drawings are going to be better than your handwriting” you said, and Peter looked at you.
There was an unsaid question in the air that you still had to ask. May and Peter had picked you up from your house as Peter had promised, and none of you had said nothing about the abortion. You knew Peter was giving you time to think about it, and that he was respect whatever you did. His eyes shone with a special light, as if he was hoping that to see those first drawings.
Before you could say anything about it, Peter turned back to the notebook and put the final dot.
“I’ve got the second one” you took back the pen and wrote with neat handwriting the second fact.
The baby is going to be born
That time, you did notice how Peter did something he hadn’t done for a long time. Reaching forwards the small space in between, he pressed his lips against the corner of yours and emitted some low, happy noise, already writing number three on the notebook.
4.       Working through it.
Something that had always differentiated you from Peter, and probably the reason why you didn’t date sooner, was because of your ‘high-school status’. While you were the cheerleaders captain, Peter spent his extra time in the Academic team and in the robotics lab. It was never a problem for your relationship, but the truth was you were used to hanging out with the popular group. And now, the cheerleaders team turned their faces when you walked past them and the football team had kicked you out.
No one said anything in the halls and the teachers didn’t show any particular interest on you. But they all talked about it and gossiped about the head of the cheerleaders, the nerd of the robotics club and the pregnancy.
“It’s fine if you don’t want to” Peter talked with his head in the locker, while you waited besides him. “We can meet other time, or not at all. They will understand, and –“
“It’s your house, Pete” you repeated once more. “Just because I’m there now it doesn’t mean you can’t make your life”
“Yeah, but I want you to feel as comfortable as possible” he handed you a book and kept going. “We can still have the house for us tonight”
“Don’t get me wrong, but that’s the last thing I want, considering how it ended last time”
You were past the point of avoiding the topic, and Peter got his head out of the locker with a big, radiant smile. Not knowing why, you took a step towards him and locked your lips briefly. He looked at you surprised and blushed, as if the small bulge wasn’t enough prove that you were dating.
“Come on, we’re going late”
The rest of the day passed by Peter’s side, still not willing to leave him for just a moment. Peter insisted that you weren’t clingy at all, but you were sure he would agree whatever you told him
At gym class, you sat on the benches and watched some of the boys play basketball and football. It was the last period of the day, and the teacher hadn’t appeared; so they had told you to stay in the gym until the bell rang. There were group of teenagers sitting on the benches behind you, all of them laughing and talking happily. Peter had gone change and you had thought it was a little too much following him there too, so you were waiting sitting alone.
In moments like that, when you didn’t feel Peter beside you, were when you felt the weight of the pregnancy. You missed your parents and your friends, or just having someone to talk who wasn’t obligated by it because of carrying his baby – which wasn’t the truth, but it still stung.
“You look like a baby duckling waiting for his mommy”
You turned around and saw the brown haired girl Peter had told you about. There was a shy looking boy behind her, who you recognized as Ned. Ned and MJ, Peter’s best friends who were coming tonight for a movie marathon. You smiled at her, not knowing what to say. And trying not to show it was the first time someone outside that apartment talked to you.
“If you give him too much attention, he’ll start believing he has power over you” MJ said as she sat a few inches away from you. You forced yourself not to shift farther. “Women can sustain themselves and don’t depend on men”
“I don’t… depend on him” you said, not as strongly as you wanted. “And Peter doesn’t, uh, do that”
“Emotional attachments are dispensable”
“But –“
“What she’s trying to say” Ned appeared on your other side, and suddenly you weren’t alone anymore. “Is ‘hi, we’re Peter’s friends’”
“No, I didn’t want to say that”
“And we wanted to talk to you before tonight” Ned ignored MJ. “Without Peter, which is quite hard since he won’t leave you alone.”
Maybe Peter was as clingy to you as you were to him, but you didn’t mind. There was a second of silence where you really thought the conversation was heading southwards. You remembered the shouts of the cheerleaders when you told them and the whispers and not so discreet questions in the bathroom the first days, until May screamed at the principal and he talked some sense into the students.
MJ was the one who broke the silence, not batting an eye or even looking at you; and you got the impression, that she did that with everyone. Feeling normal and not ‘special’ was something you missed.
“Ned here wanted to ask you if you were really okay with tonight, because he has been stressing over it the whole day” said boy emitted an offended noise before she continued. “And I just wanted to say that we can leave them to it and go commit some vandalism before you’re too ahead of your pregnancy. To become friends”
Something about the way she said all of that without looking bothered, and how Ned fell into a stuttering of offended talking and apologise made you break into a loud laugh. That was how Peter found you when he rushed out of the locker room with his shirt half put, laughing with Ned while MJ smiled at him.
5.       Hope
Peter always accompanied you to the doctor’s visits, and once he had brought Ned with him because – you still didn’t know. It didn’t matter if you were young and immature, Peter picked up the responsibility from the first moment.
That was why it was so hard for him say no to one of your visits. The Decathlon team had their annual competition in Albany, and they wanted to spend the weekend there. Peter had said no, but May and you had pushed him literally into the bus and thrown his bag to Ned. He had called you before and after the doctor’s visit, and you had barely contained your excitement. Because what you knew was better to say in person, not by a videocall with Ned and MJ interrupting.
The moment came when you were laying on your new bed, Peter’s old one, and Peter on his own, the top bunker. He was reading some book for the modern literature and you were waiting for him to come down, just to see his face. He jumped down to take a glass of water when you threw at him what you had been hiding behind you.
“Ow!” Peter cried out the package hit him. You had grown used to see him with wide clothes and comfy slippers, and to see how he always put his guard down around the apartment. “What was that for?!”
“Just open it, dummy”
“What is it?” Peter took the fallen box and frowned. “It doesn’t weight”
“Which shows that you’re a drama queen” you smiled at him, your arms around your mid swollen belly. “Come one, open it”
“It’s not my birthday” he tried again, ripping the envelope slowly. “Is this an apologize gift for breaking the toaster?”
“We both know you broke it”
“No proofs, just doubts and you being the last one to use it”
“Yet you’re the one who tries to put weird food in there”
“I don’t –“
He stopped talking the moment the envelop fell to the ground, and a small t-shirt appeared. It was a cheesy way to tell him that you were having a baby girl, considering that you still didn’t know if you would give her up for adoption. But when talking about the baby, she would no longer be an ‘it’ but a ‘she’.
The shirt had written ‘daddy’s girl’ in red letters, and it was so small that it fit in Peter’s palm. You felt as if it was your own moment of being a teenager, telling him like one of those videos you were addicted to. Although it them, the parents usually were happy or surprised. Not like Peter was, just looking at the t-shirt.
“I thought about, naming her Mary” you added. “After your mother”
He could be quite slow when he wanted to, so you waited until he finally looked up. There were tears on his eyes and cheeks, some of them falling already to the ground and accompanied with a big smile. He didn’t even made it to the bed; just knelt in between and hugged you from the ground, cries filling the room.
6.       Happiness.
All the steps mixed together when the last one came. It was the middle of April when Mary Parker decided it was time to see the world. You were taking your classes from home, and Ned, MJ and Peter were an extension to your body. The pair of friends were always at the apartment, and May didn’t have the heart to tell them to go when they all looked so excited.
The day of her birth all of you were having dinner in the small kitchen. May had made what she said was the best spicy food to make someone give birth, and Ned and MJ were spending the night because it was Friday. Peter was seated on your right, talking to his aunt when you felt the first weird pain; and from then, it went all downhill.
“Just breath”
“I know how to breath”
“Well – breath slower! You’re hyperventilating!”
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
“I’m not –“
Peter was cut off with a loud scream from you, as you closed your eyes tightly and tried to do what the doctor said. You were indeed breathing too quickly, and Peter was panicking too much. Even May wasn’t much help, being a nurse and all.
The delivery room was as plain as possible, with just a small bed, a big window that had the curtains drawn and a chair for the plus one to sit on. There hadn’t been a chance, because as soon as you had put a foot on the hospital Mary decided that she was as impatient as her daddy, and wanted out now. You had thought you would have to give birth in a taxi, since May had left her car on the hospital.
Another scream tore the room and Peter shouted at May that no, he wasn’t panicking and that he was breathing fine. There were too many shouting and stress, and you felt like passing out. Films didn’t do justice to real life delivering.
“It’s almost over, sweety” one nurse told you, brushing her hand through your forehead. “You’re being really brave, just a few more push”
“I don’t feel brave” you broke down in sobs suddenly, making Peter’s eyes go wide. “I’m just sixteen, I don’t want to be brave. I want – I want – I don’t know!”
“Hey” Peter was suddenly all you could see. He was paler than usually, sweat running down his face. “You don’t have to be brave alone”
Your problems didn’t solve with those words, neither did the pain stop. But once, May had told you that there is a feeling of power that only comes with the family. You took strength out of something you didn’t know you have and pushed once more in the mildly lighted up room. The doctor screamed something at one of the nurses, and movement came to life. Everyone was doing something or talking, no one was still.
Just you, Peter by your side and the small, high-pitched scream that changed the tune of the room. May appeared too, with a blanket that couldn’t hold anything because was too small. She left it on your lap, and you thought she was just making sure it was too cold. Before you could say anything, the blanket moved, and bright blue-baby eyes were staring at you.
There were just an inch long, not even there in a face that was as big as your fist tight closed. Her whole body wasn’t much bigger that your head, and when she opened her mouth, it seemed she was swallowing herself.
“Mary” Peter called out of her. The baby didn’t reacted, just kept screaming and announcing her presence into the world. “Mary Y/L/N”
Not able to tear your eyes away from her face, you almost didn’t notice the change of the name. Still, you muttered a soft ‘what’ that was enough for Peter to explain.
“MJ is totally against the baby receiving the dad’s first name, because it’s the woman who gives birth to them” Peter said, time stopped. “And I couldn’t agree more, she has to have the last name of the bravest person of the world”
The first time you learned about the pregnancy, you couldn’t talk because someone squeezed your throat so hard that made you dizzy. And now, it was free and you could breathe again. There were no second thoughts about what you would do with Mary Y/L/N Parker as you held her close that night.
Eventually, everyone left and the baby was cleaned. The doctor let you hold her while the sun rose, Peter laying too in the small bed and Mary in between. She had fallen asleep somewhere in between, and she didn’t get to see her first sunrise. Neither did you or Peter, who didn’t tear your eyes away.
You may have been sixteen, might have thought about getting rid of the baby and your life had been turned upside down. But you hadn’t been more sure of anything before, that you loved that baby and Peter Benjamin Parker to death.

A Home Cooked Meal
Now on AO3!!
--------
Lily was in trouble.
She’d tried everything. She’d used muggle pregnancy tests, downed a magical pregnancy detector potion, and even read books about how a normal, healthy, not-pregnant nineteen year old could miss her period for two months in a row. But it was no good. Lily was nineteen, a full-time soldier in the Order of the Phoenix, and pregnant.
She had so far avoided telling her sweet, sensitive, nineteen year old boyfriend about her pregnancy. After all, life was hard enough these days without having a baby dropped in your lap. Lily reckoned it would be kinder to refrain from telling James about the baby for the next seven months, then one day give him the surprise of a lifetime. Yes, Lily thought, seven precious months of sanity before ruining his life was a foolproof plan.
Lily tried desperately to shove all thoughts of her pregnancy aside as she tried to focus on the present moment. She, James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter sat in the living room of another Order member, sipping tea and snacking on biscuits. However, at that precise moment, Lily felt so nauseated that she wondered if it was possible to die from pregnancy hormones.
Lily was quite sure that Arthur Weasley had been bulled into inviting the five of them over by his wife, Molly, after the last Order meeting when Sirius mentioned that the they had all been too busy with missions to cook for themselves for the last few months. As soon as Molly heard that the teenagers had been subsisting on nothing more than takeaway and cheese on toast she insisted that they all join her and Arthur for a home cooked meal.
Mrs. Weasley bustled around them now, offering them more tea and insisting that they call her “Molly.” She was an outgoing woman with a kind, round face and more energy than Lily had ever had in her life. How else could she take care of five little boys and another on the way?
“Now, I’m going to pop back into the kitchen and finish dinner. Arthur should be home from guard duty any moment now, so you all just relax and enjoy yourselves!” Mrs. Weasley beamed at them all, then slipped from the room.
Lily sat back in her seat on the couch and looked around, trying not to think about how sick she felt. The house was warm and inviting, but chaotic. Children’s toys littered the ground, and Lily was certain that the Weasleys had at least twelve small red-haired children running about the house. She had not remembered any of their names, but they all seemed to be full of reckless energy and looked exactly the same. This is my future, Lily thought to herself dejectedly as she watched one of the older boys, Will or Hermes or whatever his name was, sprint around the living room on a toy racing broom, cackling wildly.
Sirius seemed completely at ease with the children. He lay flat on his back with his arms sticking straight up in the air, holding one of the smaller boys under the armpits. The boy shrieked with delight as Sirius swung him from left to right and narrated a fictitious quidditch match in an affected announcer’s voice.
“And that’s Langley with the quaffle, Langley flies left, dodges Ghulam, rolls to miss a bludger from Bagman, feints right, shoots, LANGLEY SCOOOOOORES!”
When Langley scored, Sirius swooped the child in a full circle above his own head, finally pausing when the boy was completely upside down and giggling madly. James watched Sirius with polite interest, though he clearly felt awkward around the small Weasley children.
“Blimey, Sirius, it’s too bad you played beater instead of commentating at school. I might have been able to find a beater who could actually fly.”
“You’re just jealous that you can’t chase as well as Langley does in my reenactment,” said Sirius with an easy smile, setting the child back on the ground. The boy clapped his hands together and screamed “Again! Again!”
Sirius obliged, grabbing the child this time by his ankles and swinging him through the air.
“Are you alright Lily?” Peter asked nervously, “you’re looking a little green.”
“What? Oh, yes, fine,” said Lily distractedly. She purposefully avoided James’ gaze.
Finally, the child called Fred seemed to tire of the quidditch match, and toddled off to play with his brother “Geowge.” Sirius lounged against the parlor table and popped a piece of Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum into his mouth.
“Blimey, I didn’t realize we were in the presence of Mary-bloody-Poppins over her.”
“Don’t be grumpy because I’m good with kids and you aren’t!” Sirius exclaimed before blowing a large bubble that burst with a soft pop!
“Who says I’m bad with kids? Kids love me!” cried James, whipping around to look at Lily, Remus, and Peter for support. They all pointedly averted their eyes.
Pop!
“Remus! What about that time I visited your house in Wales and there was that little muggle boy who lost his mum in the market? I was good with him! He got back to her safe and sound.” James pleaded.
“Yes... but you did ask him he’d kidnapped stolen by hinkypunks.”
James threw his hands up in the air in exasperation. “Oh come on! In Benny And The Hinkypunk the little boy gets kidnapped by hinkypunks, but he’s alright in the end! My mum told me that story all the time when I was a kid and I loved it. I was trying to cheer him up!”
“Yes, James, but he was a muggle,” said Remus patiently, “so all he knew was that a strange man was asking him if he’d been kidnapped!”
“Alright. Fair enough. But kids love me. Kids love me, don’t they Lily?”
Lily nearly spat her tea into her lap. “Pardon?”
“You think kids love me, right? I’m fun! I play quidditch! I own nearly every Zonko’s product!”
“Oh, right, yes James, I’m sure kids would...would love you.” Lily looked away quickly, trying to hide the tears that had begun to form in her eyes. Yes, she thought, James’ children would probably love him dearly. He’d be an incredible father, the perfect combination of jokester and role model. On the other hand, she couldn’t picture herself as a mother no matter how hard she tried.
Pop!
“Sirius, if you don’t stop blowing bubbles, I’m going to murder you,” Peter moaned.
“Can’t, shan’t.” Pop!
Lily stood up suddenly. “I’m going to see if Mrs. Weasley needs any help in the kitchen.”
“Oi, Pete, you go too,” said Sirius lazily from his spot on the floor, “make us look good.”
“Stop blowing that stupid gum and go yourself!” Peter replied, chucking a small pillow from the couch at Sirius’ head.
Pop!
Lily walked away from the sounds of Sirius and Peter bickering and towards the kitchen. She knew she had never been in a house like this before. Every square inch was accounted for. Even the slats in the ceiling and the ledge over the doorways were built for extra storage. With five children, Lily thought, they  must need all the storage they could manage.
Lily often thought that as a muggle born she could tell when a place felt overwhelmingly magical in a way that her friends who grew up around magic could not. The house seemed to positively radiate with warmth, comfort and magic. It must be a wonderful place to have a childhood.
Lily paused awkwardly in the doorway to the kitchen. Mrs. Weasley had her back to Lily as she stirred a pot of something that smelled delightful on the stove. Lily, not wanting to scare Mrs. Weasley, coughed quietly to make her presence known.
Molly looked around and smiled warmly at Lily.“Oh, hello dear, do you all need anything before dinner?”
“Uh, no thank you, Mrs. Weasley,” Lily said as cheerfully as she could muster. She tried hard not to regard Mrs. Weasley’s significant bump underneath her apron. Lily didn’t know much about pregnancy, but she knew that Mrs. Weasley must be far along indeed.
“Are you sure? I could make you a cup of ginger tea if you like.” Mrs. Weasley’s tone was casual, but Lily could just barely make out a knowing look in her eyes.
“Yes, that sounds lovely, thank you,” Lily said nervously. Mrs. Weasley couldn’t possibly know, could she? Perhaps women who’d been pregnant before, especially women on their sixth pregnancy at least, had some sort of special pregnancy powers. No, that was silly, she was just being paranoid.
“Here you are, dear,” Mrs. Weasley said as she placed a piping hot cup of tea in front of Lily, “I added in a slice of lemon. I always say, a lemon is just the trick for when you’re...not feeling your best.”
Lily’s heart sunk. “How did you know?” she asked desperately, feeling close to tears.
“Know what?” Mrs. Weasley asked innocently, “I’m sure I don’t know--”
“You do. You know, and soon everyone will know because I won’t be able to hide it.” Lily sunk into one of the kitchen chairs and put her face in her hands.
Mrs. Weasley was silent for a moment, then said “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you. I simply guessed, that’s all, and I never meant to let you know that I had. You’re glowing, my dear, but you still look miserable. I’ve only felt that way a few times in my life, and they all resulted in the boys that fill this house.”
Lily nodded, sniffing loudly. “I’m trying to hard to keep it together, but I just can’t hide. I feel awful all the time, and I know most of it is morning sickness but there’s also this huge weight in my heart and I can’t do anything to--to fix it.”
Mrs. Weasley nodded sympathetically. “I know just how you feel. I just saw you looking so miserable in there, and I remember how awful I felt every time I was in my first few weeks. A cup of ginger tea with lemon always soothed my stomach, so I thought it would help, but I see I’ve only made things worse.”
Lily sighed into her hands, then dropped them to look at Mrs. Weasley. “You haven’t. Actually,” she said, realizing for the first time that it was true, “I’m relieved someone else knows. I haven’t been able to bring myself to tell anyone else.”
Mrs. Weasley covered Lily’s hand with her own and stroked it with her thumb. “It’s going to be alright. Whatever happens, you’ll see, it’s going to be alright.”
“It’s not,” whispered Lily, her eyes filling with tears. “I’m a muggleborn. James and I swore we’d fight this war until it was finished. I can’t bring a baby into this mess? The baby of a mudblood and a blood traitor! How could I do that to an innocent child?” She was really sobbing now, and gratefully accepted the handkerchief that Mrs. Weasley produced from her apron pocket.
“Now, you listen to me,” said Mrs. Weasley soothingly, but with authority, “you are the only one in the world who knows what’s best for you. You’ll be able to make the right decision, and if you raise a baby in this mess that baby will be the luckiest child in the world because it will have you for a mother.”
Lily gave a forced chuckle. “It doesn’t feel like it. It feels like I’ve just doomed this baby, James, and myself all in one go.” She looked up into Mrs. Weasley’s concerned face. “But thank you for saying that. It’s nice to know that someone with so much mothering experience doesn’t think I’ll muck it all up.”
Mrs. Weasley smiled at her. “Never, dear. You’ll be wonderful. Plus, I’ll be here to help,” she laid a hand across her round stomach, “you won’t be the only one dealing with the hormones and mood swings, will you?”
Lily smiled. She was starting to feel a bit better. After all, Mrs. Weasley didn’t think she was a terrible person. She didn’t think that Lily had doomed James to a life of misery. Her heart sank again. James.
“I can’t tell him,” Lily said, shaking her head, “I can’t tell him. We’re so young. We haven’t even talked about marriage. How am I going to tell him that he’s going to be a dad?”
“Surely you could tell him, couldn’t you?” Asked Mrs. Weasley kindly, “That boy is simply mad about you, everyone can see it. He’d follow you to the ends of the earth.”
Lily laughed at this. It was true, James had told her as much himself. And she would do the same for him.
“He’d be a wonderful dad. He’s just so young still, so...”
“Immature?” Mrs. Weasley said cheekily.
“Well, he’s more mature than most, but he’s nineteen years old! This should be the time that he has fun, not gets saddled with a baby.”
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, dear, but no one is able to have much fun these days,” Mrs. Weasley smiled sadly, “it’s times like these that people realize the most important things in life. Love. Family. A purpose beyond yourself.”
That was true. It’s not as if a baby would interrupt James’ wild youth. This war had forced them all to grow up too quickly. James and Lily spent nearly all their time these days on the order, fighting for something bigger than themselves. James had already willingly taken on that responsibility, perhaps he would be ready to take on another.
“I really think you should tell him, Lily. Give him the chance to react, then decide what you’re going to do together. Who knows, he might surprise you by being more mature than you think--”
At that moment, there was a loud howl from the next room like a wounded animal. Remus came bolting into the kitchen, then, upon seeing the two women sitting and talking, stopped suddenly. He tried to arrange his face into a calm expression then asked, “um, pardon me, Mrs.--uh--Molly, would you by chance know how to get--uh--chewing gum out of someone’s hair?”
Suddenly James came hurdling into the kitchen too, supporting a limp and partially-blind Sirius with him. Sirius had been rendered partially-blind by the infamous piece of chewing gum that was currently stretched across his face, held in front of his eyes by the bits of wavy hair that framed his face.
“MOLLY!” he screamed, clutching at the air in front of him in panic, “HELP ME! MY HAIR! MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR!”
“There was, um, an incident in the living room,” James snickered. He was clearly trying, and failing miserably, to keep his shoulders from shaking with laughter at his best friend’s misfortune. “Peter here--”
“I told him to stop blowing those stupid bubbles!” Peter cried indignantly. “I told him! I don’t regret it in the slightest.”
“Because of you engorging my bubble my hair is ruined!” Sirius tried to swipe for Peter with his outstretched arm, but caught Remus by mistake. “Ouch!” “Ooh, sorry Remus, love! I was trying to catch a rat.”
“Boys, boys!” Mrs. Weasley shouted, getting to her feet. “I have five children, I am perfectly capable of removing chewing gum from hair without any lasting damage.
“You promise?” sniffed Sirius, who was gently caressing his affected locks.
“I promise. Now, everyone, stand back and go into the other room. I need room to work...”
Lily, James, Remus, and Peter all trudged into the next room.
“Nice one, Pete,” said James, still laughing.
“Oh he can bugger off, the dramatic git,” said Peter, though he was smiling too, “his hair will be fine.”
“It better be. How will he react when he finds out I’m only with him for his thick, luscious locks?” laughed Remus.
“Hey,” James said to Lily, bumping her shoulder with his, “you’re quiet. Was the great gum-hair incident of 1979 not entertaining enough for you?”
“No, of course it was,” Lily forced herself to smile, “I’m just taking it in. It’ll be quite a shock at first, but I suppose I can get used to a bald Sirius Black. Let’s just hope his skull is a normal shape.”
“Precisely!” cried James, “ We’ll just have to let him know that we love him no matter what, right?”
“Right,” said Lily weakly. God, he would be a fantastic dad.
A few minutes later, Sirius and Mrs. Weasley re-entered the living room, Sirius’ hair gum-free and unaffected. He shot a dirty look at Peter.
“I’m going to get you back for that.”
Peter shrugged. “I’m sure you will. Now, Molly, can we help at all with dinner?”
“No, no, you all just stay here and try not to cause any more trouble. I have enough to worry about with my children running about, I don’t need four more!”
“Four? What about Lily!” cried Sirius indignantly.
“Oh, I think Lily has wisdom beyond all your years,” Molly said, winking at Lily. “Arthur will be back soon, then we can sit down to eat.” And with that, Mrs. Weasley disappeared again into the kitchen.
“Wow, you two really must have bonded in there,” James said with an impressed tone. “What did you talk about?”
“Oh, you know, girly stuff, you wouldn’t be interested.”
“I beg to differ! I love girly stuff I’ll have you know.” James said with mock indignance.
“Girly magazines don’t count, dolt.”
“Ha ha ha,” James laughed sarcastically, “just you wait, Evans. One day you’ll realize there’s much more to me than meets the eye.”
Lily looked at James out of the corner of her eye. James, who had protected Remus and kept his secret for years. James, who had taken Sirius in when he ran away from home. James, who watched out for Peter and stopped Sirius from picking on him too much, because that’s just who he was. He would always look out for those who needed him. And she needed him now more than ever.
“Maybe you’re right.” Lily smiled.
Somehow, she thought that maybe this would work.

My Treasure - William Nylander
Request: Can you do one where you are pregnant with William nylanders baby and getting hate and he makes you feel better
Getting pregnant at 24 was definitely not a part of my 5 year post college plan. Then again falling in love wasn't one of my bullet points either. But when my period was over a week late I knew that everything was about to change. William was thrilled when he saw the bolded word on the pregnancy test, immediately wanting to tell anyone he could. I was a little more hesitant to share the news.
I knew that I wanted children someday and those feelings intensified once my relationship with William became serious, I just figured we would be married and I would be a little more secure in my teaching job before we would add a baby to the mix. We told our families first and they were all excited and happy for us, same with friends and teammates. The real problem came when we started to share the news with the rest of the world. On William's social media everyone was happy for us and wishing us well, but mine is where all of the hate went.
She probably got knocked up so he couldn't leave her.
Hopefully you don't gain too much baby weight, you could already stand to lose a little.
You're not even pregnant with his kid I bet, just went to the guy with the biggest paycheck.
I did my best to delete the comments as soon as I saw them, hiding them from William so he wouldn’t get upset. Some people didn't get the hint after the first deleted comment and I would end up blocking them. Two weeks after announcing our pregnancy the nasty comments were outweighing the nice ones of my post. My pregnancy hormones went crazy one day when my pants didn't fit for the first time of the pregnancy and William was away on a road trip until the morning.
I canceled my plans to go get dinner with some friends and instead had a pity party in some of William's clothes with ice cream and reading through all the horrible things that were being said about me.
I can't believe he is still with her, she is not pretty enough for him.
Fat cow
You are going to ruin his career with the child.
I cried myself to sleep on the couch after midnight and didn't wake up until someone was brushing some hair out of my face. Slowly opening my eyes I saw a concerned William kneeling on the floor in front of me. "Ellie, what’s wrong? Were you crying?" I sat up, making room for William next to me before he pulled me into his lap. "Your friends texted me last night and told me you skipped on going to dinner with them. Is everything okay? Is the baby okay?"
"The baby is fine, I just couldn't find anything that fit comfortably with the bump. I had a pity party with ice cream and must have fallen asleep." Everything I said was true, I just left out one major thing.
"I'm sorry babe, but can I finally buy you some new maternity clothes? Please." He gave me puppy dog eyes as he begged, causing me to laugh and turn to face him more.
"You love shopping more than I do."
"Is that a yes? I'm taking that as a yes. Go get ready, shopping might take all day." With that he was carrying me down the hall, laughing the entire way. When he finally set me down I managed to find a t-shirt dress that wasn't too uncomfortable and proceeded to get ready.
***
After a full day of shopping William took me out to dinner at our favorite Spanish restaurant. I excused myself after we ordered a bunch of small plates to share to run to the bathroom and when I got back William was standing at the table with a large plastic bag and shaking hands with the owner. "What's going on?"
"I thought you might be more comfortable if we went home and ate. I've kept you busy most of the day so I know your feet must be bothering you." His tone was off but I brushed it off as we headed out. The drive home was a tense silence without even the radio playing.
I didn't say anything until we were in the apartment and William started slamming cabinet doors as he got plates. "What's wrong?"
"I just don't get why people spend so much time trying to make other people down! Like, what does it do for them?" He had a fire in his eyes I had only ever seen on the ice, and I wasn't sure what was causing it.
"I'm going to some more context here. Did something happen at the restaurant?"
"Before we left the last store I took a couple of pictures for our shopping day and posted them to Instagram. I thought it was no big deal, just sharing what I was up to on a day off. And then when you were in the bathroom your phone started buzzing like crazy so I thought someone was trying to call you. But all of your notifications were for Instagram, and I know I shouldn't have opened the app on your phone but I thought maybe it was your girlfriends' group chat and Sophie finally got engaged." I let out a small chuckle at that, we basically were taking bets on when her and her high school sweetheart would finally take the next step.
"I'm guessing that isn't what you saw." I knew what he was going to say next but I was hoping with every fiber of my being that I was wrong.
"No, I saw the worst of humanity in your DMs. I just- how can people be so cruel?" William slumped into the bar stool next to me at the island as I reached for my phone having to see what was sent to me now. "Ellie…" I ignored his worried warning as I opened up the app, going to my DMs.
Fat cow, you only got pregnant so that you could lock in some who is far too good for you. I hope he sees he could do so much better and kicks you out before that baby ruins his career and life!
So you are just using him for his money. I bet the baby isn’t even his, probably a teammate who makes less. Whore!
Bitch, why are you even with Willy? He is a literal hockey god and from what i can tell you are just some stupid high school math teacher. He can do so much better than you.
There were over 50 messages just like those, all sent within the last hour. I didn't even dare look at the comments on my latest post, even though it was a few days old the braver trolls put their nasty messages there for the whole world to see.
"How long has this been happening?" I had hopped off my stool, going to plate up the food we brought home and trying to avoid the conversation I knew we needed to have. "Ellie… Please talk to me. How long?"
"Honestly, since we started posting that we were dating. It's gotten worse since we posted that we are gonna be parents."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because part of me thought that if I just deleted the messages and comments that it wasn't real. That if I was the only one who knew that I could just pretend that it was all in my head. Then there is that stupid voice in my head that likes to play up my insecurities, that made me feel like if you saw what people were sending me that you would believe it. And I know that thinking that is stupid and unrealistic but it can sometimes be the loudest thing in there." William also got off his stool, coming to stand right in front of me. He kissed my forehead before cupping my cheeks and holding eye contact.
"Min skatt, never feel like you have to hide this from me. You are the one I am in love with and want to spend the rest of my life with. You are the only one that can make me smile and laugh when I am in a bad mood after a game. You are the only one I see myself growing old, and possibly bald with." I let out a gasp at the word bald, he was so protective about his hair.
"See, the rational part of me knows all that."
"Well, let me make it clear to every part of you. I love you with every fiber of my being and as soon as I meet with your father next week to ask for his blessing, I will be asking you to marry me."
"Will…"
"But I am going to need you to act surprised when I ask." That got a small chuckle out of me.
"I'll do my best." William's stomach growled then, making both laugh. "Let's eat before your stomach starts communicating with us again." William just nods, a thoughtful look on his face that I'm sure would cause problems later but right now I just wanted to live in the happy moment.
After reheating the food and settling at the kitchen island to eat, I went through and deleted all the DMs and comments. I barely registered what they said as I deleted. What I didn't know was Will was looking at the comments as I deleted before pulling out his own phone. It was only when my phone buzzed with another notification that I found out what he was doing.
@williamnylander tagged you in a post
The post was two pictures side by side; the first was from our first date at a Christmas market, all bundled up and snuggled into each other as we took the photo in a mirror. The other picture was a selfie he took of us at my last doctor's appointment for the pregnancy, both of us were all smiles as I sat on the exam table with a picture of the sonogram on the screen behind us.
Two pictures of the love of my life. One from our first date, where I was a clutz and spilt hot chocolate all over her light grey coat and she still agreed to a second date. The other from a few weeks ago when we got another look at our baby.
I can say without any doubt that having Ellie in my life has only made it better. She has become my sounding board for when I'm frustrated, my motivation to score more goals, and my ray of sunshine on any cloudy day.
I knew from that first date that Ellie was the one for me, no one can tell me otherwise. And now she is carrying our first child. My heart continues to grow and fall in love with this amazing, kind, dedicated, caring, loving, and perfect woman each day.
I am so lucky to spend time with you each day and anyone who says otherwise is wrong and jealous of what we have.
Min skat, I am so excited to watch our family grow and experience the joys and challenges of parenthood with you. Ellie I love you and can't wait to see where we go next.
Together.
The tears started flowing before I even read the caption, the pictures enough with my pregnancy hormones. But the words William managed to write push me over the edge, I was crying at the love he put into the words but also laughing at the not so subtle 'fuck you' to all the nasty people who sent you messages.
"Did I overstep? I don’t want to embarrass you."
"It's perfect. You're perfect. I love you."
"I love you too, and I plan on showing you that everyday. Even if it is something as simple as an Instagram post."
"It's not just the post, it's that you are saying to all the people who see your pictures and then come trash talk to me that you know about them. And that will probably stop some of them from doing it again. And anyone who doesn't get the message gets blocked."
"Good. Now, let go watch some TV and cuddle." Nodding grabbing my plate of food, following William to the couch before curling into his side.
As William pulled up the next episode of a show we were binging, I thought of something. "You never have told me what 'min skat' means."
"It means 'my treasure'. And it reminds me how lucky I am every day to have you in my life."

The Unbearable Pain of Life Itself
Pairing: FtM Trans Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales/Reader
Word Count: 2,385
Warnings: Frankie’s in pain from his period. Lots of tears, one mention of blood, nausea and vomit, and boy oh boy I cannot seem to write Frankie without making him cry.
I just want an excuse to write the reader comforting Frankie okay? He’s had a hard day because of his period and all he wants is cuddles! Am I projecting? Yes! Do I feel any shame at this point? No!
Permanent taglist: @phoenixhalliwell
You knew Frankie woke up feeling like shit the second you rolled over in bed. How? Because he hadn’t left you coffee before leaving.
Should that be a sign of health? Not really. But whenever you didn’t wake up next to your boyfriend, or cuddled up on top of him more accurately, he left you a cup of coffee and a post-it note with a heart on it as a way to say ‘I love you’ when he left early for work.
Sitting up and rubbing your eyes, you listened intently for any sign of your boyfriend throughout the house, wondering if he’d only just woken up and needed something. He wasn’t in the kitchen, as you’d originally thought. No, if he was, there would’ve been more crashing around and the distinct smell of coffee, considering he needed almost three cups before he was functional. But instead of a clumsy, sleepy Frankie, there was nothing. No usual cup waiting for you on the nightstand, no goodbye text or note from Frankie that he usually left whenever he had to leave for work early.
Flinging the covers off you, you realized exactly what was plaguing Frankie and why his normal morning routine had gone out the window, sympathy immediately flooding you as you crawled over the blood stain that was slowly drying on the sheets.
Slowly stripping the bed of the sheets and blankets, you headed into the kitchen, finding a half made pot of coffee and clear evidence that Frankie hadn’t been in the right headspace when he left for work. The bottle of knock off midol that worked just as well as the name brand shit was sitting next to the coffee pot, Frankie’s truck keys were still on the key hook, and he’d somehow managed to leave both his glasses and his hat at home. His birth control pills were sitting beside his empty coffee mug, the ring of spilled coffee making you wince as you put the mug in the sink.
You sighed. Today was going to be long.
All morning, you texted Santiago, who worked with Frankie and had picked him up that morning. According to Santi, Frankie was a mess, slowed by his pain and almost losing his meager breakfast multiple times.
Eventually, you two reached a conclusion. Santiago couldn’t make Frankie go home and rest. No one could. Well, no one except for you.
Around lunch, maybe five hours later, when you knew he’d be at his worst as the pain pills wore off, you scooped up the midol bottle and Frankie’s keys, getting into his truck. It was a bit bigger than your car, but was familiar territory for you all the same.
Driving out to Frankie’s work, you worried about him so much you almost crashed. He very rarely got his period, considering the pills he was on and the extensive hormone changes he’d been through. But every six months, it was hell on earth for a week. He had every symptom under the sun, and they were all horrible. He was essentially bedridden for seven terrible days. Most times, he tried to power through it, but he couldn’t fight himself for very long.
Pulling up to the building, you didn’t even bother locking the truck as you walked through the front doors.
Santiago was with Frankie in the small break room, Frankie’s palms pressed to his eyes in an attempt to block out the headache-inducing lights.
“Hon?” You murmured, crouching in front of Frankie’s bent form. “Oh honey, c’mere.”
Frankie surged forward, blindly falling into your open arms. He shook, body trembling with pain, core pulling tight in regular intervals.
“It’s okay,” you comforted, smoothing up and down his back. “I know, Frankie. Let’s go home, okay?”
A tiny whimper spurred you up, you supporting Frankie’s right side and Santiago coming over to support Frankie’s left as you headed back towards the front doors.
When he was finally in the truck outside, Santiago helped you buckle him in before stepping back and waving. You waved back, handing Frankie a water bottle and the midol. “Two more Frankie.”
He nodded, taking the pills and leaning back, breathing rhythmically, his left hand clutching your right. It wasn’t wisest to drive the truck with only one hand, but for Frankie, you bent the rules.
Getting him into the house was a trip. It took twenty minutes due to the cramps and the headache and the God forsaken nausea, but he was finally breathing heavy on the couch, near tears but at least lying down.
You wordlessly grabbed a few blankets and began to help Frankie out of his work clothes. He didn’t say anything or move much, only slowly thumbing over your wrist whenever it came near his hands and sleepily blinking at you as you draped the soft blankets over his body. You grabbed a heating pad, warming it in the microwave and placing it between Frankie’s hips. “Sleep,” you murmured, kissing his forehead and poking his nose. “It’s soup for dinner. Want a documentary?”
Frankie nodded, the pills and the exhaustion from a night of sleeplessness finally crashing down on him and causing him to flicker in and out of sleep as you set up a few episodes of Our Planet to play. He liked the ocean ones the most, so you made sure they were first as you walked away from his slumped form. You slowly headed towards your office, fully intent on getting a few hours of work in before clocking out early.
Two hours later, you sighed, leaning back from your computer and running your hands over your face. The documentaries in the background had been too distracting, so when you took a break to reheat the heating pad and check on Frankie, who was still asleep, you grabbed your headphones before shutting yourself back in your office. As you tugged said headphones off while scrubbing over your ears, you heard it. Sobbing.
Immediately abandoning everything, you raced out of the office and into the living room, where Frankie was laying, collapsed on the floor in tears, shaking violently and hiccuping on his own breaths as he cried.
“Frankie!” You fell to your knees, checking him over frantically. When you finally concluded that nothing was broken or hurt, you gathered him up in your arms, rocking slowly back and forth on the uncomfortable kitchen hardwood. “What’s wrong? Is it the cramps? The headache? Are you okay?”
Frankie shook his head, still sobbing. “You-“ he stuttered, breath shuddering. “You weren’t. I thought. You were gone!”
You stopped breathing, unable to exist beyond the pain in Frankie’s words. He hadn’t seen you, didn’t know where you’d gone, and for all he knew, you’d left the house completely. “Oh Frankie. I would never,” you breathed, smoothing over his hair. His hands, those damn shaking hands, gripped tightly at your shirt, as if you’d disappear if he let go.
“Frankie, darling,” you said, feeling a full body chill racing across his skin and knowing his body was swinging wildly from feverish and freezing. “Let’s go have a bath.”
Frankie didn’t object, allowing you to help him up and lead him to the bathroom. He was quiet, watching as you filled the tub with water and epsom salt. You left for a minute to grab a glass of cold water before hurrying back to the bathroom, not wanting to leave Frankie for any longer than you had to.
The entire time you and Frankie lounged in the tub together, your back against his chest, he was calm. Much calmer than he’d been earlier, so you could only assume the pills were starting to touch his pain.
Eventually, after both yours and his fingers had turned pruney and Frankie smelled like epsom salt and lavender soap, you hauled him out of the tub. He yawned, grinning sleepily as you handed him a warm towel and his favorite old pyjamas. So yes, the pills were finally working if Frankie was actually smiling.
“Nap time?” He asked as he shuffled after you into the living room.
“Snack time,” you corrected, grabbing one of the everything bagels Will had dropped off the other day and slicing it. “At least half of this, and then we can nap.”
Frankie pouted, but waited patiently for you to toast and butter the bagel. Usually, he insisted on a load of cream cheese, but his stomach wouldn’t be able to handle it right now. Hell, you even were hesitant to use too much butter.
You made yourself a bagel as well, also only using butter. When both were done, you and Frankie cuddled up on the couch and continued the documentary he’d been watching earlier. It was about sharks, something Frankie was surprisingly eager to watch. He absently ate the required half a bagel before he slumped against your side and then scooted down so he could lay his head in your lap. You smiled, humming Billy Joel and eating the other half of his bagel, knowing he probably wouldn’t.
About halfway through the Disney nature Oceans documentary, you felt Frankie shift. He rolled to his side, then to his back, and then sat up and bolted for the bathroom.
You paused the TV, following after Frankie with matching urgency. As he threw up the half a bagel he’d eaten, you rubbed his back, just waiting for it to be over.
When he finally sat back, he was sweaty and panting, eyes full of tears. You sighed, handing him a cup of water. “Drink. You need to rehydrate.”
Frankie nodded, accepting the water and taking small sips, slowly draining the cup over the course of a very agonizing forty five minutes, during which Frankie almost threw up again twice.
When it seemed his stomach had finally settled, you helped him up and onto the couch once more.
He was exhausted, immediately cocooning himself in the blankets and falling asleep again. You didn’t even bother with the documentary, instead grabbing an old book and reading out loud in an effort to keep Frankie asleep.
The book wasn’t a favorite of yours, but Frankie really liked it, so you indulged him. Eventually, when it seemed he was well and truly asleep, you detangled yourself from him, getting up to grab two cans of soup from the cabinet and putting Frankie’s heating pad through the microwave again. Normally, you’d make the soup, but with how Frankie was, you didn’t want to risk being away from him for too long.
Sure enough, when you sat back down, Frankie’s eyes blinked open slightly and he snuggled close. “Warm.”
You smiled, the rasp to his voice incredibly endearing. “Mhm. I know. Here.” You pressed the heating pad to Frankie’s body, and he made a small noise of bliss.
“What would I ever do without you?” He mumbled, sliding against your body and practically molding himself to you.
Reaching an arm out to wrap Frankie in a one-sided hug, you shrugged, kissing his forehead. “I have no idea.”
While he dozed, you texted the boys, who were all periodically texting you and fretting over Frankie. You gave them the run down, skipping over the more horrible bits. Will and Benny both wanted to visit, but you and Santiago decided that probably wasn’t the best idea tonight. Agreeing on tomorrow night, when some of the worst pain would be fading, you put your phone down and shook Frankie awake.
“Huh?” He grumbled, rolling and glaring at you. “Why?”
“Dinner,” you said, helping Frankie sit up. “The boys are coming around tomorrow, by the way.”
Frankie shrugged. “Why do I have to eat dinner?”
“You don’t,” you said, setting a bowl of canned soup in front of him. “Just drink some broth. Eat some of it if you can.”
The rest of the night was spent on the couch, Frankie slowly drinking the broth out of his soup and you monitoring him. He didn’t throw up again, which was a blessing, and you were able to get a cup of tea into him as well before he finally asked to go to bed.
“Sure thing,” you said, standing and stretching. Frankie watched, tiredly admiring your body. He grinned when you helped him to his feet, hands wandering, causing you to laugh.
“Francisco Morales!” You scolded through your laughter, swatting his hand away from your ass. “That is rude!”
Frankie pouted, his adorably crooked grin returning within seconds. “I’m in pain babe. Indulge me.”
You rolled your eyes, smiling and helping Frankie into the bathroom. “I washed the sheets from last night,” you said, handing him his toothbrush. “And you are absolutely calling in sick tomorrow. No ifs, ands, or buts.”
“Okay,” Frankie said, sticking his toothbrush into his mouth. “I love you.”
You smiled, wiping toothpaste foam off Frankie’s face. “I love you too.”
That night, you listened absently to the hum of the cicadas, cuddling Frankie, who was curled around you and his heating pad, his soft breath tickling your bare arm. He wasn’t asleep yet, but he was close.
You took a deep breath, looking over Frankie’s head and staring at the moon, high in the summer sky. On nights like this, you cracked the window open to let the air in, with the precaution of multiple bug screens.
“Babe?” Frankie mumbled, rolling a bit and pulling the heating pad out from between you. “You up?”
“Yeah.”
Frankie tossed the heating pad aside, making a face as it hit the floor with a heavy thump. “You good?”
You nodded. “Yeah. Just can’t sleep.”
“That’s not good,” Frankie mumbled, scooting around until his face was six inches from yours. “Penny for your thoughts?”
You smiled, kissing Frankie lightly. “Go to sleep, Catfish.”
Frankie grinned. “Ooo, busting out the nicknames. Seriously, what’s on your mind?”
“Nothing,” you answered honestly. “You’re just super warm.”
Humming, Frankie wrapped you in a hug, the absence of the heating pad making it much more comfortable. “Better?”
You melted into his chest, tracing a feather light finger over his top surgery scars. “Much.”
Frankie kissed your forehead, head falling back to the pillow as exhaustion threatened to overtake him. “Get some sleep babe.”
Nodding, you moved Frankie’s arm so you didn’t accidentally cut his circulation off. “Right back at you Frankie.”

Hey idk if I've already sent this but how would V, jumin and zen react when mc is on her period and gets angry very very easily (you accidentally bump into her? Well now you're dead) and then mc gets very sad because she got angry at them and starts crying (I'm like this when I'm on my period and no one comes near me lol it sucks) it's fine it you don't want to do it but if you decide to do it then thank you so much 😊😊😊
OOF GIRL SAME I-
Also imma try a new format hope y’all like it
Zen, Jumin and V reacting to an MC who gets super emotional on her period:
Zen:
So this poor fella has no idea that you’re on your period, and that day, when he came come, he found some delicious candies on the table. He thought, oh well, why not eat one? They look absolutely delicious. Biggest mistake of his life. You came in the kitchen, just in time to find your boyfriend munching on your delicious candies.
THE AUDACITY OF THIS MAN.
You glared at him and Zen immediately froze, midway through the candy. Before Zen could defend himself you very angrily asked him WHY did he eat YOUR candy??? Did he buy it? No??? Then WHY WAS HE EATING IT!
You had been saving that candy since the morning, and after a stressful day decided to eat it while you watched your comfort movies and series that you always binged when you were in your period. It made you so mad that he had taken a bit of candy, and he realized. Zen tried to apologize, over and over but you wouldn’t hear it.
You huffed and quickly ran to your room, banging closed the door.
And that’s when Zen realized, he fucked up.
After a few minutes Zen gently knocked on the door, and you replied with a sort of rude “what.”
“Y/N...I’m sorry I ate your candy without permission. I know how much you love them and to eat them without asking was terrible for me to do. Would you forgive me if I went and bought you some more? And how about I add a snuggle session for later hm? Would that make you happy babe?”
It went quiet. Slowly, you opened the bedroom door and tackled Zen in a big hug. “IM SORRY!” You cried. “I’m just on my period and I’m so emotional today and I just got really mad for no reason, Zenny you’re allowed to eat how many candies you want I’m sorry!”
Zen chuckled and held you tight, telling you it was alright. The rest of the afternoon, the two of you watched TV and ate some of your favorite food, cuddling and giving each other kisses.
Jumin:
He was so busy with work!!!!
You knew that you shouldn’t get mad about something like that, but you couldn’t help but feel neglected! That afternoon you and Jumin were supposed to eat together and watch some movies, Jumin had taken the day off just for that, because you told him he needed to rest. Yet...there he was, locked in his office, on the phone with his coworkers and documents piled up in his desk.
For about the fifth time that day, you gently knocked on Jumin’s door and brought him some food. You were both supposed to be eating together, but that was two hours and a half ago. He must’ve been hungry and you weren’t in the mood for a romantic dinner anymore. Jumin looked up as you placed the plate on his desk, and he grabbed your hand and kissed it, as a thank you.
“I will be done soon, my love.” He whispered, but you knew that he would probably be busy the rest of the day. You shook your head and tried to smile, telling him it was fine.
It also didn’t help that you were in your period. You tried to leave as quick as possible because you didn’t want to be mad at this perfection of a man. It wasn’t his fault and he was doing his best! Yet you still felt way too emotional and you couldn’t help but...feel a bit angry. It was mostly because you knew he was overworking himself, and you felt like he was ignoring your concerns for him...
You went to your bed and laid there, under the mattresses and didn’t come out until you hear a silent knock on the door. “My love..?” Jumin asked, as he went into the room. Slowly you sat up on the bed and Jumin looked at you with guilt all over his face. “I’m so sorry.” He said, after a few minutes of silence. You slowly opened your mouth to tell him that it was alright. You were just worried. But all that came out of your mouth was a pound sob and before you could realize it, tears were streaming down your face. Jumin quickly walked over to you and gave you a hug, and you tightened your grip on him while you sobbed.
“I’m, I’m sorry” you cried. “I just- why are they such assholes, I- you never get to r-rest, and I want to spent t-time with you, but they just w-want you all for themselves, and today w-was supposed to be OUR day, but y-you had to work again, and you al-always d-do you beeeeest”
“Love-”
“AND I, dont w-want to be ungrateful or anything b-because you’re doing so m-much but I don’t want you t-to suddenly collapse because of overworking y-yourself and you d-don’t listen to me, Jumin I don’t want to end up a widow because y-you die from overwork you know?! And I-it’s not fair you ignore me g-getting worried, WAHHHHH I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.”
After a few minutes of sobbing, you finally calmed down and wiped your eyes. “I’m sorry Jumin. I know this is not the best way to express myself...but in my defense my hormones are going a bit crazy right now because of my period...”
“You’re on your period?” He asked, and you nodded. Say no more. Jumin immediatly took a whole week off and spent the rest of the time cooking for you, buying you crazy amounts of chocolates, hugging you and kissing you. He knew you were just worried for him and he got why you would be a bit mad because he’s not taking care of himself, after all, he’s the same with you.
The rest of the time you both cuddled and kissed each other, watching your favorite movies and laying in bed till noon.
V:
It had all happened in a flash. But V accidentally threw your chocolate cake on the floor. Your chocolate cake.
YOUR CHOCOLATE CAKE
You immediately gave a yelp and cried, and maybe also yelling at V a bit.
You were in your period, and right now the only thing that could make you feel better was a slice of chocolate cake. But V didn’t make that possible. As soon as you screamed at V “HEY V WHAT THE HELL” and he flinched you immediately feel bad.
V knelt on the floor beside you and tried to pick up the pieces of chocolate cake that he thought maybe you could save.
“I’m sorry Y/N.” He said, guiltily. You shook your head and tried not to cry.
“No V don’t apologize...gravity isn’t your fault, and I wasn’t watching my step. Sorry for getting mad.”
“But..I still bumped into you. Sorry.”
“V nO - I JUST SAID IT WASNT YOUR FAULT
“IM SORRYYY”
I’m just kidding lmao
After a thousand apologies, you hugged V and told him that he could make it up by helping you cook some more chocolate cake. That immediatly brightened both of your moods, and you spent the afternoon baking some delicious cake, and cookies, and cupcakes, and more cookies, and making tons and tons of sweet snacks (like torta chilena UFFF ITS DELICIOUS)
V was immediatly pardoned, and honestly who could stay mad at him for that long? You gave him a little peck on the nose and told him that everything was fine and that you were happy. Then you both went out to your little patio and ate your food while watching a beautiful sunset.

Congratulations
“(y/n)” the nurse called out from the door. You stood up and walked over with an anxious smile. She handed you a clip board of medical information that you needed to update and then said she would grab you once it was completed and turned into the desk. You sat back down in the waiting room and flipped through the pages. Ugh I wish my mom was here...am I allergic to anything? I mean I don't think so but maybe Im just unaware of it..I don't remember having surgery-well my tonsils were removed but does that count? You were filling out the page to the best of your ability when your phone buzzed. You looked down and saw his name flash across the screen before immediately ignoring the call. You rushed to finish the paperwork and handed it in as the nurse came back. “Ready?” she asked.
“Yeah.” you followed her down the hall where she took your height and weight before escorting you into the room. You hopped onto the chair and anxiously tapped your foot as she checked your temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen levels. After finishing up she sat on the stool and smiled.
“So, what are we here for today?”
“Uh...” you looked at your feet and shifted in the chair. “I think I may be pregnant.”
She smiled and nodded, “when was your last period?”
“My period tends to be irregular but the last one I had recored was around two months ago.”
“Okay, were you on any kind of birth controls, or using any type of contraceptives?”
“I was on a birth control, am on a birth control but I missed a few days while I was on vacation which is when I believe this all happened.”
“Okay. Have you had any symptoms other than your missed period?”
“No, not really.”
“Okay. Have you taken any pregnancy tests at home?”
You nodded, your brain flashing back to that day.
*Tears were flooding down your cheeks as he grabbed his last hoodie from your closet. All you wanted was for life to stop. You wanted him to say its okay, to make a change in the relationship, to stay. You sat on the bed crying as he walked out the door for the last time, taking with him every once of happiness you had. You ran to the bathroom, physically sick from the situation. It wasnt until you were hunched over the toilet that you realized the box of tampons had gone unopened. Missing periods was normal for you, they had never been regular. There was a slight doubt in your mind though. You had never missed a period more than once, so the fact that you were going on two means something was wrong. You had been under a lot of stress though, the distance, the lying, the excuses, all of it. Wiping the snot running from your nose, you had gotten up, washed your face, and thrown on sweatpants and a sweatshirt. You had mustered the courage to drive all the way to the drug store, purchase three pregnancy tests, and drive home. You had gotten three, you wanted to be sure. You wanted to be positive before making any other decisions. You sat on the bathroom floor after peeing in a cup and dipped each end, turning them over so you couldn't see the lines. You set a timer on your phone and closed your eyes. The only thing that could've possibly made this situation better was having him here. Of course he was gone already but you could still dream right? When the alarm on your phone went off you anxiously flipped them all over. Picking the first up and squinting you saw the dreaded double lines. Picking the second one up: dreaded double lines. And the third: PREGNANT in bold. You dropped them all on the counter and threw your phone. Of course, of course this this happens. He leaves and I end up pregnant with his baby..just like the movies except he won't be coming back. The rest of the day had been a blur. You had kind of just ignored the fact that there were three positive pregnancy tests in the bathroom. When your friend Luke had come over, you had cried into his arms. Cried about him leaving, about the break up, and finally about being pregnant. “(y/n) if you have positive pregnancy tests you need to call him.”
“No. I can't do that. Im not doing that.”
“(y/n)...hes the father, he deserves to know.”
“I may not even be pregnant though..they come up wrong all the time.”
“Not this wrong though.. this seems pretty sure.”
“I mean I've been stressed lately maybe its just a hormone thing.”
“I think you should go to the doctor and check. And if you are then you need to ball up and tell him. Seriously he needs to know”
You had nodded and cried some more before Luke left. Then you had called your doctor and made an appointment.*
Now here you were answering questions about your sex life and body. The nurse handed you a cup and showed you where the bathroom was. She said the test would take only around ten minutes but that she would be coming back to the room to do a blood test as well. Great, what a fun day... You quickly peed in the cup, leaving it on the counter for the nurse and wandered back to the room you had been assigned. Your hands were sweating and you felt dizzy. Having your blood drawn was probably your least favorite thing. In fact, you fainted almost every time. You checked your phone and thought about texting him...instead you texted Luke and told him how terrible the doctor was and that you were going to die while having your blood drawn. His only response was “lol” and you rolled your eyes. Typical guy.. The nurse came back in with a smile and sat down. “Well it does look like you are in fact pregnant so congratulations! We want to do a pelvic exam and ultra sound today just to see where everything is at and then have you come back for a blood draw in the future.”
“Thanks.” you smiled and relief flooded your face. At least you didnt have to have your blood drawn today. On the other hand, you were pregnant, which was a whole other nightmare in its own. Not that you hadn't wanted and dreamed of having kids. You just thought it would be under different circumstances and that you would be married.
“Im going to leave this gown here if you just want to change real quick we can do an ultrasound and hopefully see where the little baby is at.” She left for a minute and you quickly changed, your warm body freezing against the chair. When she came back in, she had an ultrasound machine on wheels. She started with the pelvic exam, lightly pressing all around your pelvic region. Satisfied she got out a tube of gel. “This is going to be cold at first.” You had nodded and watched as the clear gel squirted out and the ultrasound machine rubbed against your skin. You watched the screen as she moved it around looking for the baby. After what felt like months, she found a small white dot looking blob and smiled. “There it is...looks like you are measuring around 2 months right now which makes sense to when you thought everything happened.” She looked at you and smiled. “I know it can be a lot to take in..I’m guessing this is your first?”
“Yeah...its just a lot I guess.”
“It is, but it gets easier. Want to hear the baby’s heartbeat?”
You smiled and nodded. She pressed a button and you heard soft thumps. Tears slipped out of the corner of your eye and you wiped them away. “Thats pretty cool.”
She smiled and nodded before handing you a towel. “You are all set to go, we will have the pictures at the desk where you can make your next appointment. It was nice meeting you (y/n) good luck on your pregnancy and congratulations again.” You smiled and thanked her before climbing back into your clothes. 2 months pregnant...theres a living being in there...my baby...mine and Harry’s baby...oh god, what am I going to tell Harry? At the desk you scheduled another appointment and the receptionist handed you a picture saying congratulations. You looked at the little pea shaped blob inside you and grinned. Thats mine...thats inside me.
Luke surprised you by standing at your car door with an ice cream sundae. “Soo did you faint? did you die? did you live?”
You laughed, “Yeah I lived. I didnt have my blood drawn at all actually.”
“Oh? Why’s that?” You took the sundae from him and smiled taking a bite, the hot fudge melting in your mouth.
“Because of this.” you waved the picture in your hand and he grabbed it his mouth dropping.
“Is that what I think it is? Do you have an alien growing inside you?”
“Lukeee seriously”
He laughed and looked into your eyes. “Okay okay but wow, a baby. That’s amazing. How are you feeling about it?”
“I feel like it hasn't sunk in yet....but that I’m really happy. I mean Ive always wanted a baby...why not do it now? I don't need a man in my life. Im a strong and independent woman.”
“That you are, but don't worry you will have me too. Im going to be a great uncle, its the best job anyways. But uh- are you going to tell Harry?”
You shrugged your shoulders and continued eating. “(y/n)...it is his baby right?”
You rolled your eyes and nodded. “It cant be anyone else's.”
“So then you're going to tell him.”
“Idontknow” you mumbled, your mouth full of ice cream.
“You have to..you know he would want to know.”
“Theres a lot I wanted to know and he didn't tell me so I’m not sure yet. I haven't decided anything.”
“Okay...” he gave in and hugged you. “I’m happy for you I really am.”
You hugged him back and smiled. “Thanks. I’m glad you're here...I’m glad I have someone to go through this with. And I’m so so glad you brought ice cream.”
“It’s okay. What are friends for right?” You nodded and jumped in the car after saying goodbye. You didn’t quite know who to call yet so you decided to just enjoy some time with yourself. You did the only logical thing you could think of after finding out that there was a baby inside you: you went shopping. You picked a local baby store and walked in, looking at all the onesies, furniture, blankets, binkies, and bears.
“Hi! Anything I can help you find today?”
“No, thank you I’m just looking.”
“Okay well we are having a two for one deal on onesies and bibs so make sure to check those out.”
“I will thank you.” you smiled at the girl working but she kept looking back at you.
“Are you (y/n)...the girl dating Harry Styles?” she asked shyly.
“I was dating him, not anymore actually.” She nodded and gave you the look, you know the one of pity and sorrow? You went back to shopping looking at all of the little outfits, there were so many choices. You also had no idea if you were having a boy or a girl..something told you it was a boy but obviously you had no clue whatsoever. You decided on a cute grey onesie with little animals on it...gender neutral. You also grabbed a cute binkie that had a stuffed bear attached to it.
“These are super cute.” the girl said while checking out. “There's a whole collection that goes with this if youre interested.”
“No, that's okay this is enough for now?”
She nodded and wrapped the stuff in a bag. “So how far along are you?”
“Not very far, only a few months.”
“Well congrats! I hope everything goes smoothly and I hope to see you back here soon for more stuff.”
You smiled and nodded. “I for sure will be back.”
You drove home, your phone blowing up the entire way with twitter notifications, instagram tags, and more. Inside you scrolled through it, only to find pictures of you shopping for the baby clothes. Your name attached to headlines stating you were expecting but not far along. Great...this is not what I need...how do they even know.... you were scrolling through more twitter notifications. Harry’s name was now being brought into this. Another daddy in One Direction? Harry Styles Expecting? ugh...this literally cannot be happening.. and then everything got worse.. Harry’s name and photo popped up on your screen as he called. “Harry?” you answered anxiously.

Part 1 of my new series, hope you all enjoy! Goal is to have another part posted tonight or tomorrow! This is kind of just an intro to the story, I’m hoping to have them be a little longer but let me know what you all would rather: longer and less stories (may take more time to upload) or shorter and more stories (updated a little faster)
Let me know what you think so far and what you think will happen.

Adrien’s Crash Course in Girls
This all happened because of a conversation between me and one of my guy friends. I hope you guys enjoy!
(A huge thank you to @chanceuseladynoire for beta reading!)

Adrien sighed as he flopped on his bed. “What’s wrong with Marinette, Plagg? I just told her that her hair looked nice and she burst out crying.”
The black kwami let out a laugh as he scarfed down another piece of cheese. “Sorry, kid, but I’m here to help you save the world, not to give you a biology lesson.”
“Biology?” Adrien sat up quickly. “What does that have to do with anything?” Plagg didn’t answer, instead he shrugged and flew to his spot on the sofa. “Wow… Thanks so much… I know, I’ll just call Marinette and ask her what’s wrong!”
“Yeah, cause that won’t ruin your friendship at all.”
“Well, who else am I supposed to ask? Wait. What about Nino? He’ll know the answer for sure. I mean, he’s dating Alya.”
“Or you could just forget about it and eat some cheese…”
The blond ignored Plagg’s comment and reached for his phone, texting Nino.
A: Hey, Nino! Could you help me with something?
N: Sure thing dude! What’s up?
A: Well, lately Marinette’s been acting weird and I was wondering if you knew what was going on?
N: Weird how?
A: Like, moods changing constantly. Like she’s happy one sec then angry the next. Then cries out of nowhere. Did I do something wrong?
N: How long has this been going on? It probably doesn’t have to do with something you did
A: Ummm maybe 2 or 3 days.
A: I try to be respectful and give her some space but then she thinks I’m ignoring her. She acted this way last month too but I thought she was just having a bad week or something.
N: Ok well
N: Based on what I know from Alya it’s not really my place to tell you but
N: Let’s just say it’ll probably happen for a week every month then it’ll be okay again
N: Just give her a couple days and she should be fine
A: She’s usually really sweet and understanding but when she’s in those moods she’s hard headed but I try to just stay low and keep her happy
A: Wait, every month?
N: Yeah it’s got to do with hormones
Adrien’s eyes widened and a slight blush settled on his cheeks.
A: You know what, nvm. Okie dokie I’m not gonna dig in anymore.
N: You asked! I was just telling you what it probably was
A: So every week once a month?
N: Yep
A: Should I ask her what’s wrong?
N: NO
N: You can ask if she’s okay though
N: But don’t ask her about any of the stuff we just talked about. Some girls are sensitive about it for some reason
A: Ok. Girls are confusing
N: You can say that again
Adrien set his phone on his bed and leaned back again. “I don’t understand… but then again, maybe I don’t want to understand.”
“Eh, don’t worry. You’re not missing out on much.” Plagg shrugged as he flew over to his chosen. “It just complicates things.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well—”
“Adrien, it’s dinner time.” Nathalie entered the room and the kwami flew into Adrien’s shirt quickly.
“Okay. Thanks, Nathalie.” Adrien followed the woman downstairs to the dining room where he ate his dinner in silence.
-----------
Adrien erased another math problem and looked at the clock before sighing in defeat. “I can’t do it, Plagg! I have to know what’s going on with Marinette. I won’t be able to sleep if I don’t know.”
Plagg rolled his eyes and tossed the blond his phone. “Fine but don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
A: Hey uh question
A: Why does that thing happen to girls one week every month?
A: Is it something I should worry about?
A: Or should I not even be talking about it?
N: Oh
N: It’s uh
N: Got to do with reproducing
A: Oh
A: Wait, reproducing?
A: As in like, having kids?
N: Yep
The model thought for a moment. “Reproducing? Having kids?” He gasped and quickly texted back.
A: IS SHE PREGNANT????
N: What
N: GOSH NO
N: DUDE
Adrien’s ears burned with embarrassment. How was he supposed to know that reproducing didn’t just mean pregnancy?
A: Look I’m tired and confused and I don’t know why I’m still talking.
N: I mean
N: I’m not sure I should be the one telling you this
N: It’s not really my place
A: Oh
N: Your dad would probably do a better job at it
N: If you want me to tell you I can but I thought you’d already know
A: Know what?
N: About IT
A: Hm?
A: Am I supposed to?
N: Didn’t your parents ever give you the talk? My dad gave it to me a couple years ago
Adrien was confused. What did he mean ‘the talk’? He had never been told about what happened to girls once a month.
He called Nathalie into his room and asked her about it. The assistant’s face turned red and she gave a quick explanation before exiting the room quickly.
A: Well my father is always busy and I just asked Nathalie but she got all flustered and said it’s a conversation for him but he can’t really talk because of all the stuff he has to do
A: I’d appreciate it if you explained it but I don’t want to make you feel weirded out
N: Nah
N: I can try and explain it
Adrien slipped into his pajamas and got into bed as Nino began explaining what was happening to Marinette. Cramps… Uterus… BLOOD???
N: So that week is called a period, monthly visitor, or as I like to call it “Torture time”
A: Blood??
A: Torture??
A: So she’s losing a lot of blood???
N: Technically it’s just Mother Nature though sometimes Alya says it feels like torture
He cringed at the thought of Marinette being in pain. Wait, what if she died? Was she going to die? Did he need to take her to the hospital? Why wasn’t she already in the hospital if she was losing a ton of blood?
A: That’s not good
A: She won’t bleed out right?
N: Alya said something like it didn’t come out of your actual blood supply that you need to live so no
N: Marinette won’t bleed out
A: And it happens EVERY month??
N: Yep
A: That’s terrible!
A: And all I can do is just give her space and wait?
N: Yep
N: Maybe give her chocolate
N: But there’s not really anything you can do
N: Oh and never EVER ask if she’s on her period
N: I learned that the hard way
A: Gotcha
N: Anyway I gotta go dude
N: I need to finish this homework
A: Ok Thanks Nino
N: No problem
Adrien was astonished. How could girls go through that every month and still act so normal and calm. How were they still alive?!
He never knew exactly how strong girls were until that moment. They went through this thing every month and never complained. Wait, that meant that Ladybug probably had this thing too. Could she get any more amazing?
He should do something for Marinette. How fast could chocolate be shipped to his house? Maybe he could talk Gorilla into stopping by a store tomorrow morning before school.
Adrien couldn’t take the pain or suffering away from his friend, but he could at least try to make it bearable.

grow as we go
this fic is sponsored by Nat (one of the Group Chat members)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAT! If there’s anything this girl loves it’s fluff and Jolex babies. So that’s exactly what I delivered for her special day!! I hope you enjoy this and just know WE LOVE YOU!! (and Pepper but mostly you)
This fic takes place early season 15 while Alex is chief and Jo is doing her Mass Gen fellowship. Hope you guys like this fluffy fic! :)
Alex Karev loved being chief. He loved being the big man in charge and he loved Grey Sloan. He loved his coworkers and he loved helping sick kids everyday. What Alex did not love, however, was being away from his wife. They’d been married just three months ago and he’d only been able to spend three weeks of that time with Jo before she left for Boston to start her fellowship at Mass Gen. Between her long hours working in the lab and his hectic new schedule, neither had found time to visit. They talked everyday and Skyped every Friday, but he missed having Jo next to him every night.
Alex’s path into his office was interrupted by Nancy, his secretary, letting him know that he had files or budgets or something to look over, causing him to let out a groan.
“Nancy, I told you I will get to it, but I have to call my wife,” Alex motioned to his phone as he backed into his office. “You know the woman who I married that lives clear across the country? The one I talk to at this time everyday? Give me thirty minutes.”
A sigh left Alex as he closed his door and sunk down into his office chair. He dialed Jo’s number and sat in silence until she picked up.
“Hello?”
“Hey, it’s me,” Alex spun in his chair, brows furrowing as he listened down the line. “You sound out of breath, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I just ran up the stairs to my apartment, I’m good,” Jo paused and sucked in a breath, before returning to her normal voice. “Sorry, I didn’t realize what time it was. How’s your day been?”
“Long and boring. I had two meetings and I wanted to stab my eye out with a pen during both,” Alex could hear Jo’s laugh from the other end, his heart aching at the all too familiar sound. “I miss hearing your laugh everyday, I miss you being in our bed.”
He tried his hardest not to bring up the distance between them, mainly because Alex knew things were much easier for him than they were for Jo. He got to stay in Seattle where they’d built their life while she lived on the other side of the country by herself.
“My fellowship won’t last forever babe. Besides, we vowed for worse or for better right?”
“I know, it’s hard to think about when you’re not here next to me though.”
“Well I’m hoping to get some time off soon, then I can fly home for a bit,” a sigh escaped Jo and Alex couldn’t help but lean forward, anticipating her next words. They were filled with tears and he wanted nothing more than to wrap his arms around his wife. “I miss you so much Alex, I hate Boston and I wish I were still in Seattle.”
“You said it yourself, we’ll see each other soon. If you can’t make it out here then I’ll take some personal leave and come see you,” Alex ran a hand over his face as he helplessly listened to Jo crying. “I’m sorry babe, I’ve been so overwhelmed with this new position that I haven’t even had a second to think about coming out there.”
“Don’t say that, you’re doing important work. I’m sorry, my mind has just been all over the place lately,” Jo sighed then, signalling that she was done crying. She did it every time she wanted to move on and Alex felt like she was right next to him when she did it. “I’ve gotta go babe, but I’ll talk to you soon, okay? I love you.” “I love you too Jo,” Alex hung his phone up, eyes taking in the large office and the nice view he had of the hospital from the panoramic windows.
Alex loved his job, but he’d trade everything he had and more to have his wife in his arms again. With one last look, he stood and left the room, flicking the lights off as he walked out the door.
+
Alex didn’t make it back to his office until mid afternoon the next day, meetings and consults keeping him busy through the morning. His mind was still heavy from hearing Jo yesterday, even though they’d both texted before going to bed later that night. He knew he’d been distracted all morning, not paying enough attention to anyone that was talking in his general direction.
“Chief, you have-”
“Nancy, not now, please,” Alex paused outside the door to his office, giving his secretary a pointed look. “I’m not in the mood, maybe after I call my wife I’ll be able to do whatever mundane task it is that you have for me today.”
“But sir that’s-”
“Not now! And can you please clear off a week sometime in my schedule? I need to go to Boston.”
Alex opened the door to his office, flicking the lights on and cocking his head to the side as he took in the sight before him. Alex rubbed his eyes, making sure he wasn’t seeing things as he stared at the woman who had been occupying his mind.
“Hi there.”
“Jo?”
More real than anything he’d been through since he got off the phone with her the day before, Jo sat on the couch in Alex’s office, a small smile creeping up onto her face that made her cheeks glow brightly. Alex couldn’t move from his spot in the doorway, his heart beating out of time as he watched Jo stand from the couch. She was dressed in leggings and one of his oversized flannels that she’d stolen when she left, probably what she’d worn on her flight here.
“I didn’t want to say anything until it was all straightened out, but I left my fellowship,” Jo held her hands up, stopping Alex from intervening as she walked towards him. She shut the door behind him before coming to stand in front of Alex, eyes meeting his tenderly. “I know you’re gonna tell me I shouldn’t have left for you or whatever crap you’re going to say, but I promise I have a really good reason for coming back.”
“Jo you shouldn’t have come back just for me,” Alex was happy to have his wife here but he didn’t want her to sidetrack her career for him. “We can make the distance work, I’ll take a sabbatical and come to Boston with you. I don’t want you giving up on your dreams because of me.”
“Alex,” Jo grabbed his hand then, Alex looking on in confusion as she pulled him closer to her and settled his hand on her stomach. The normally flat and toned area was now rounded and growing, Alex’s eyes going wide as he looked up to see Jo’s megawatt grin. “I didn’t just up and leave for no good reason. I know we could’ve made it work but I really couldn’t stay away any longer.”
“You’re here.”
“Yes I am.”
“And you’re pregnant?”
“Did you listen to anything I said?”
“I heard it all but I’m still not convinced that I actually got out of bed this morning,” Alex placed his other hand on Jo’s hip and brought her closer to him, his left hand still placed firmly on her baby bump. “When the hell did this happen?”
“Mmm remember the shed,” Alex let a laugh out then, watching Jo for any sign that she was joking. “Hate to break it to you but we definitely made a baby in that shed.”
Leaning down, Alex caught Jo’s lips with his, her arms coming up to wrap around his neck. Having his wife in his arms again was better than he could’ve imagined, especially finding out that she was having his baby.
“I only found out three weeks ago because I’m completely clueless and thought the mood swings and the missing period were because I was stressed out and I missed you,” Jo’s eyes were glassy as Alex let his hand rub her back gently. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier, I wanted to tell you in person, here, at home. Because I don’t wanna leave again, Alex.”
Alex took in his wife, her puffy eyes and glowing face, the way one hand instinctively floated down to cradle the curve of her stomach. Her breasts were fuller, he could tell even through the layers of clothing she wore, and she’d cut her hair shorter again. Once he took a good look at her, he realized just how much Jo had changed in the short amount of time she’d been gone.
“I’m not letting you go anywhere. I’ll even talk to the chief to get you a job here,” Jo let out a laugh at his comment as Alex let his hand wander under the shirt she was wearing, fingers brushing over her bare skin and the swell signaling the new life growing there. He was going to be a dad. “I’m glad you came back, I missed you.”
“You don’t know the half of it, I cried myself to sleep the past week because I was so hormonal on top of missing you,” Jo trailed her fingers up to the knot of Alex’s tie and began to loosen it. “Thankfully for you I’m past all my first trimester aches and pains and all I really want is you.”
Alex’s eyebrows shot up as he took in the lust filled look on Jo’s face. She was undoing the buttons of his shirt now, fingers slipping under the fabric to run her nails over the smooth skin there.
“Well I think since my loving wife has finally come home, I can take the rest of the day off,” his words did nothing to stop Jo though, her lips trailing to his neck as Alex’s eyes involuntarily shut. “Or we can christen the couch in here since you don’t seem to want to stop.”
At his words, Jo began to pull him backwards, pushing his white coat off with a smirk. Before she could get her hands anywhere else, Alex quickly shut the blinds to his office, turned back to Jo and brought her in for a searing kiss. They collapsed onto the couch in a fit of laughter, hands moving greedily over each other as they made up for lost time.
Alex did like being chief, he loved this hospital and his coworkers, but he was absolutely certain that nothing in his life was better than having his wife and their baby back home with him.

Hi! So I saw that you were taking request and I was wondering if you could do one with Steve where the reader aka his girlfriend is pregnant but they’re not telling anyone yet but he lets it slip since he’s worried about her and Hoper(her dad) like freaks out but like is happy about it yet still mad. Maybe it’s happening at the battle at Starcourt. A bit angsty yet a lot of fluf. Also I just want to say I love your blog and hope you’re having an amazing day!!! ♥️♥️♥️
warnings: pregnancy?, a little angsty but pretty fluffy
word count: 1.8K
a/n: Kinda AU bc Hopper comes out of the base alive but besides that, everything is pretty canon. Thanks for the love and request, anon, enjoy!
“Are you...positive, that it’s positive?”
“Yes, Stevie. I’ve taken two of them to be sure.” Y/N said shakily as she watched her nervous wreck of a boyfriend pace around his bedroom.
She waited almost two weeks after her missed period to even confront Steve about being late, knowing that he would freak. As scared as she was for their future, she was sure that Steve would be a great and loving father just like he was a great and loving boyfriend. Tears of pent up fear sprung to her eyes when Steve turned to see her reaction, fiddling with the two sticks in her hands. Steve’s nervous demeanor immediately softened when he saw her tears, feeling bad for making her even more worried than she already was before telling him.
“Hey, hey. Don’t cry, baby. I’m sorry, I’m just in shock. Don’t be upset.” he said in a hushed tone, cupping her cheeks in his hands after sitting down on the bed and pulling her into his lap. “We’ll figure this all out, okay?”
She sniffled quietly as he spoke and nodded silently in response. Her gaze never met his, she always hated looking at him when she cried. Before she could instinctively bury her face into the crook of his neck, he put a finger under her chin and pressed his lips against hers in a gentle, yet reassuring kiss.
“We may not know what the hell to do right now, but what I do know is that I love you and I’ll do anything to make sure you and this baby of ours are taken care of.” he said sweetly, his hand resting on her still small stomach. “We probably should get you home now, yeah? It’s almost midnight and I’d rather not have your dad call a search party to find you again.”
The car ride back to the cabin was quiet for the most part, both of them still trying to process what was really happening. Steve mentioned something about picking up some extra shifts at Scoops Ahoy! to help out with paying for doctor’s visits and other things she needed. His words and the gentle circles his thumb rubbed on the back of her hand soothed her, allowing her to be reassured that everything would be okay.
“Are you gonna...tell your dad?” Steve stammered out when he parked in front of her small house in the woods and saw the living room light on, signaling that Hop was still awake. “Like right now?”
“I was thinking we could tell him soon, like the two of us could. Not right this moment, Stevie.” she said with an exhausted smile, running her hand through his hair. “We don’t have to tell anyone right now, I don’t think I’m ready to yet.”
Steve nodded in agreement, relieved that he didn’t have to endure the wrath of Jim Hopper quite yet and had some time to prepare for it. He gave her a small kiss goodbye and brushed his hand along her stomach once more, as his way of showing her that he really was okay with it all. They said their goodbyes and told each other they loved the other before she walked into the cabin.
Little did the couple know, the next week would turn out to be a living hell for them and everyone around them. They didn’t see each other for days, Steve was stuck in the underground Russian base while Y/N was staying alongside El, protecting her little sister at all costs. Their reunion in Starcourt was emotional, Y/N’s fresh pregnancy hormones getting the best of her when she saw Steve’s beaten and battered face. Everyone around them bickered about what the hell had just happened after El flung the car across the mall, while Y/N held onto Steve tightly and never wanted to let go.
It hurt Y/N to watch her sister go through so much pain, but she held onto El as tight as she could as Jonathan attempted to pull the flayed arm from her leg. Steve stayed close by her side, rubbing her back soothingly as she held her little sister close. It was like a motherly instinct had kicked in already for Y/N, because she felt the need to comfort El through her pain.
Soon enough, Joyce and Hop showed up with Murray to reunite with everyone. Plans are made for their navigation through the tunnels of the Russian base, others are made for everyone else to plan out their success. More tears are shed from Y/N and El when they talk to Hop, both girls promising to stay together and keep each other safe while he was down there. Before they all part ways, Steve pulls Y/N to the side with a worried look on his face.
“Please come with me to Dustin’s radio thing. You’ll be safer there, baby.” he pleaded, running his hand through her hair as he spoke.
“I...I need to stay with El, Stevie. You know I want to keep her safe more than anything.” she replied, shaking her head to get rid of the tears forming in her eyes.
“But...baby please.” he begged nervously, his hand instinctively going to her stomach as he spoke. “This day has already given your body enough stress. I don’t want you to get hurt. You’re stressed already I just want you to be okay! I...I don’t want the baby to get hurt because you’re trying to protect El.”
“Baby?” a roaring voice came from behind her and her heart dropped to her stomach, after Steve’s nervous talking came out a little too loudly to be just between the two of them.
“Looks like we’re telling him now.” Y/N said as she bit her lip, Steve letting out a string of curse words and apologies into her ear before kissing her temple as she turns to face her dad.
“Mind explaining what you two were talking about, Y/N?” Hop’s voice came out as angry, more tears coming to Y/N’s eyes from being so nervous.
“I’m...I’m pregnant, Dad.” she said in a quivering voice, feeling reassured when Steve squeezed her hand.
“And what? We’re you not gonna tell me about it?” he questioned, his tone growing angrier as he spoke, which caused El’s eyes to widen in fear also as she sat next to him.
“I was going to tell —“
“Hello! As great as this reunion seems to be going, we need to leave, Jim.” Murray interjected, causing you all to look his way.
“I’ll deal with you later, Harrington.” Hop said as he pointed a stern finger in the already nervous Steve’s direction; he gave his girls a strong hug before leaving, telling them to be extremely safe now.
The next two hours seemed like two days. An eternity could have went by between the time Steve left and when the Mind Flayer was defeated, and Y/N wouldn’t have noticed. Between the fireworks, the Mind Flayer’s screeches, and everything else going on, Y/N was overloaded and exhausted. She collapsed into a hug on the ground with Max and El after watching Billy sacrifice himself to save everyone else. Tears of exhaustion and sadness flowed in the trio, the quietest of sobs to be heard from each of them occasionally as her and El tried to comfort Max.
Sitting on the back end of an ambulance, Y/N huddled up with El after being cleared out of the mall. They waited eagerly, eyes wandering everywhere to find Hop and Joyce. Before they arrived, Steve made his way over and pulled Y/N into a strong embrace. She could have sworn she saw a tear run down his cheek, but he would deny that forever.
“Are you okay? No injuries?” Steve questioned, his hands roaming her arms and torso to check for cuts and bruises, eventually landing on her waist and belly once more.
“I’m fine, Stevie.” she giggled exhaustedly, her hand running along his battered cheek as he flinched. “The real question, are you okay?”
He hummed and nodded in response, kissing her forehead gently. “Just a little beat up, baby. I’m just glad you two are safe now. Please no more getting involved in this stuff after today, okay? I don’t want anything to happen to either of you.”
She agreed and sat in his arms, her hand still in El’s to comfort the traumatized girl. Steve complimented El’s courage to make her feel better and she smiled, Y/N getting the courage to tell her younger sister about the baby. She seemed excited after they explained what was happening.
“I’ll be...an aunt?” she said quietly as she squeezed Y/N’s hand, they both nodded in reply as tears flowed down Y/N’s cheeks once more.
As they spoke, Joyce and Hop emerged from the underground base. Hop’s eyes filled with tears as he hugged his daughters again. They relished in the moment for a little too long, knowing what conversation was to come after they pulled apart. Locking eyes with Steve as he watched the three of them hug, Hop’s demeanor changed. Y/N took a deep breath as she braced herself for his anger.
“Dad, listen. Before you lecture me or yell at me, I just want to say that I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you. I was...scared. I didn’t know how you would take me telling you that I was having a kid.” Y/N choked out, wrapping her arm around Steve’s for comfort.
“I always told you that I only had simple rules in my house, Y/N. The ‘don’t be stupid’ rules, but you obviously didn’t follow them.” Hop said, residual anger still filling his voice as he spoke which caused more tears to flow from Y/N’s eyes. “But we’ll have to deal with this no matter what.”
“And I’m sorry for not being more careful, Chief. We were always safe...I guess just not safe enough since it only takes one time.” Steve said as he wrapped a blanket around Y/N’s shoulders, “I don’t plan on going anywhere, either. I’m taking care of this baby no matter what.”
Hop looked at Steve and Y/N, noticing how his touch was calming her down during a time of overwhelming emotions. He never was able to express his feelings enough to talk to her during those times, let alone to calm her down like that. She needed Steve, he thought. While in the base, he worried about Y/N and El, but also about the baby Y/N was going to have; he wanted her to be safe and for nothing to happen to either of them. He had come off as so angry about the situation, but his feelings milled over while he thought about it.
“You and I both know that I will make certain that you’re around to support and love her throughout this whole time, Harrington. Understand?”
“Yes — Yes, Chief!” Steve replied nervously, making Hop chuckle at the flustered soon-to-be dad.
Maybe being a grandpa wouldn’t be as bad as he imagined.

In 2016, I entered (and won in my category) a short story contest. I was pregnant and had a very distubing dream. Here it is, in story format:
The Painting
I blinked, trying to see in the dimmer light inside the – where was I? Oh yes, the restaurant. A multi-faceted crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, drawing my eye. I turned around, looking at the décor, and caught a glimpse of a server drawing a curtain over a painting.
“Oh wow,” I murmured under my breath. I could recognize the swirls in the painting anywhere. “Hey!” I raised my voice slightly. “Is that another painting in Van Gogh’s Starry Night series?” I squinted, trying to see through the dim foyer, while moving towards the painting.
He hurriedly finished drawing the curtain, blocking my view.
Disappointed, I stepped back. Something about the painting was not quite right. Before I could concentrate on what, I heard my name.
“Sophie! You finally made it!”
I spun, stepping into my husband’s arms. “George!” My eyes unexpectedly filled with tears. “Sorry I’m late.”
“Nothing to cry about, darling.” He brushed his fingers under my eyes to wipe away the tears. “We’ve only just been called to our table.”
I smiled shakily up at him. The light refracted through my tears, making his blond hair glow.
We followed the maître-d’ into the dining room. The various aromas tickled my nose, the combination making my stomach churn a bit. The tables were teardrop shaped, tucked into rounded booths that provided privacy to the diners. There was a surprising amount of room inside each section. On the walls were exquisite paintings; Monet, Rembrandt, Picasso, and Da Vinci.
I tugged on George’s arm as we navigated our way through the maze of tables. “Can we look at the art after dinner? You know how much I like Van Gogh.”
“Of course, sweetheart,” he replied.
The maître-d’ stopped at a table with two other couples and pulled out a chair. “Madame?” He gestured for me to sit, and placed George at my side.
“This is different,” I said, smiling at the other guests after sitting in my chair. “Sophie,” I introduced myself. “And my husband George.”
“Daphne and John,” replied the redheaded woman to my right. “We just got married three days ago!”
“Congratulations!” I exclaimed.
“Andrea and Felix,” said the blonde across from me. She had thin, angular features. “How far along are you?”
Startled at the question, I looked down at my slightly protruding belly and gave it a tiny rub. “Just past twelve weeks,” I said. “I’m not used to people noticing. It depends on what shirt I wear.”
“Humans have such an interesting gestation period,” said John.
“I’d rather the nine months than the elephant’s two years!” I said, and we all laughed.
“Do you know the gender?” asked Daphne.
“Oh, no, not yet,” I smiled ruefully. “I don’t get to find that out until sometime around week twenty.”
A waiter appeared between George and Felix. “Something to drink, Madame?” he asked me.
“Just water, please,” I replied. A painting on the wall across from us caught my eye, and I pointed it out to George. “Look at that Monet! It looks so vivid, I could almost jump into the river.”
George laughed. “Such an imagination!” He kissed my hand.
The waiter brought me a glass, and I left it in front of me without taking a sip.
“Not thirsty?” asked Andrea.
“No, not really.” I paused. “Actually, I feel rather full at the moment.” I frowned, confused. “Did I eat before coming here?” I didn’t think I had, but I couldn’t remember.
“You probably just need to visit the ladies room,” interjected George. He ran a soft hand over my belly. “You are pregnant, after all.”
My thoughts cleared. “You’re probably right. Where is the washroom?”
Fortunately, it was within sight of the table, so I would be able to find my way back on my own, as the paths between the booths were as twisted as a maze.
As I sat on the toilet, I examined the painting on the back of the door and considered the other art in the restaurant. “Van Gogh,” I murmured. “I haven’t seen any other Van Gogh here. That’s weird. And the one in the front lobby was one I’ve never seen before.” I thought about the part of the painting that I caught a quick glimpse of. “There was a large full moon, over a meadow.” I shook my head and got up to wash my hands. “I wonder what the name might be.”
I headed back to the table, but didn’t sit down. When George stood up to let me by, I said, “I’m really not hungry yet. Can we look at the paintings now?”
George gave a sigh and smirked at our tablemates. “Whatever you want, darling.” He took me by the hand and we started walking from painting to painting, admiring how realistic the paintings looked.
“These look so perfect!” I exclaimed, astonished. “Surely they can’t all be originals?”
A waiter passing behind us overheard me, and interjected, “Oh yes, Madame. All the art pieces in our restaurant are originals. The ones in the Hu-“
George coughed sharply.
“Museums are just copies,” smoothly continued the waiter.
“Wow!” I stared around, wide-eyed. There were at least fifty paintings within my sight, and I knew there were more beyond that. “Those are some impeccable forgeries in the museums, but I can definitely see how these paintings are more…” I searched for the right word. “Full. Three-dimensional, almost. Are there any other paintings by Van Gogh?”
“Other?” asked the waiter, swallowing hard. “We don’t have any paintings by Van Gogh. The quality of his work wasn’t enough to stand with the masters.”
I stared. “Are we talking about the same painter? The genius who died not knowing the brilliance of his work? I definitely saw a painting by him at the entrance.”
“You must have been mistaken, dear,” laughed George, his hand tightening on mine. “If the waiter says there are no Van Gogh paintings here, he would know.”
“I know what I saw.” My chin jutted out stubbornly, and I tried to let go of my husband’s hand. “I’ve never seen that particular painting, but the style was obviously by Van Gogh. It was of the same feel as his Starry Night series, except in this particular painting, the moon dominated the scene, over a meadow. Don’t you remember, George? You were there too.” When George shook his head, I sighed impatiently. “It was beautiful! I wonder what he named that painting. Moonlight over Meadows, perhaps? Or Moonlight over the Moor? Or ooh!” I wiggled in excitement. “We’re in Ireland! Maybe it’s Moonlight over Faerie!”
A piercing alarm went off.
“What’s going on?” I clapped my hands over my ears, trying to drown out the sound. I looked for the waiter we had been talking to, but he’d disappeared.
Guests were rushing past us, towards the exits, I assumed, since I couldn’t actually see the doors.
“Come on,” ordered George, his mouth tight with worry. He grabbed my elbow and directed me along with the others, not towards the lobby where I’d seen the painting, but towards the back of the restaurant.
Outside the restaurant were several vans. The maître-d’ was directing people into straight lines, waiting for the vans to pull up at the bottom of the stairs.
“What’s going on?” I repeated my question to him when he reached us.
“Fire in the kitchens,” he replied, glancing at my husband. “We’re evacuating you to another location to keep you safe.”
George wrapped a protective arm around my waist. “Thank you,” he said, and the maître-d’ rushed off to the next couple.
“I wonder what happened to the others,” I mused. “I hope they got out alright.”
“I’m sure they did, sweetie,” replied George. He rubbed his hand gently over my belly. “But I don’t really care about them. As long as you’re both safe.”
I smiled. “I was safe the whole time, because I was with you!” My eyes filled with tears again.
“Your hormones are acting up again,” teased George.
“Next group, hop in!” shouted a driver.
George helped me into the van, and settled in beside me. The van wobbled as others got in after us, and then the engine started up.
“George,” I whispered. “I don’t feel so well.” The van lurched forwards, and I clapped a hand to my mouth. “Stop!” I cried. “Stop, I need to get out!”
The driver looked back at me. “What seems to be the problem, Madame?”
“I’m going to throw up all over the back of your seat if you don’t let me out right now,” I said, and my stomach heaved again.
“It’s not much farther…” he began.
“Now!” I screamed.
The van screeched to a halt, and I opened the door on my side of the car. I fell to my knees on the grass beside the road, dry heaving.
The van drove away – good riddance – as I felt hands pulling my hair back from my face. George’s voice filtered through the blood pounding in my ears. Eventually, as my stomach calmed, I was able to make sense of his words. “We don’t have to go to the other restaurant, we can go home and stay in, just the two of us, Sophie and George.”
I froze, my blood turning to ice in my veins, though I didn’t understand why. “And the baby,” I said cautiously. Something was niggling in the back of my brain, trying to make itself known.
George nodded at me, a half smile on his face. “Sophie, George, and the baby.”
I sat down, my legs too weak to hold me on my knees. I looked at George, my thoughts whirling quickly as the thought thrust itself into the forefront of my brain: my husband was French-Canadian; he always pronounced his name with a French accent, Georges. This impersonator Anglicized the name. I, however, never used his French name. On top of that, what was with all the nicknames? That was unlike him. What on earth was going on? He looked like my husband, but wasn’t him. Which brought me to my next question; if he wasn’t my husband, then where was George?
“I think a bit of a walk will help me,” I said calmly. “Help me up?”
George reached for my hand and pulled me to my feet. “Which way would you like to go?” he asked.
“Away from the restaurant!” I laughed, trying to show an outward calm, although my insides were screaming at me to run. “How about towards the forest?” I pointed in a direction that veered away from the road. “We don’t have to go in,” I continued, interpreting the look of apprehension on fake-George’s face, which I took to mean that this was a good direction to go.
We started walking slowly, as I was still a little shaky from the nausea. What had been with that vehicle? I sometimes got motion-sick, but rarely that quickly. I shrugged; the oddest things affected my body now that I was pregnant.
About halfway between our starting point and the forest, a short metal fence blocked our path. It barely reached my knees, so I went to step over it but fake-George yanked me back by the arm.
“We shouldn’t go that way!” he exclaimed, eyeing the fence anxiously.
“There’s no sign saying to keep out,” I tried to reason with him. “What’s wrong with you? We’ve gone places we shouldn’t before!” I attempted to pry my arm from his grip. “Let me go, you’re hurting me!” I could feel a prickly burning sensation on the inside of my wrist.
“No! We shouldn’t cross the barrier!” he pressed. “You can’t cross it.” He didn’t release my hand.
“Why can’t I cross it?” I asked, exasperated. I stopped struggling. It was only making things worse.
“You…you just can’t,” he retorted.
I took a deep breath and stepped closer to him. “Watch me,” I said, and kneed him in the groin. He dropped to the ground, letting me go.
I ran the two steps back to the fence and stepped over it. I kept going a few more paces before looking back at him, writhing on the ground.
I took one glance at the sickly blue-purple tinged creature that had been masquerading as my husband, and had to turn away. Seeing him in his natural form brought my memories back in a rush, and my head started to ache. I was in Ireland, but I was alone. George had died a month ago in an accident. My eyes filled with tears, and I started gasping for breath. No wonder I had been so willing to accept that monster as my husband in the restaurant. I missed him.
“How did you cross the fence?” the creature wheezed. “You shouldn’t have been able to cross the iron barrier!”
I glared at the creature. “You should be incredibly grateful that I could cross, liar! You…you kidnapper!”
He staggered to his feet, and I backed up a couple steps. He was slightly taller than I was, with shiny scales covering his body. They were a sickening, swirling purple and blue colour that had no discernable pattern. He had a tail that curled down to the ground, sharp teeth in a mouth too wide for his face, and four eyes; two on the sides of his hairless head, and two at the front.
“What are you?” I gasped.
“A liar,” he smirked. “A kidnapper.”
I growled at him. “I knew that already. Tell me something I don’t know.”
“I don’t have to tell you anything,” he retorted.
“Even though I bested you?” I mocked. “Taken out by a human? A pregnant one, at that!”
His two forward facing eyes flicked down to my belly, and a green tongue came out to lick his lips. I shuddered.
“I can tell you whatever you want in exchange for one thing,” he offered.
“You’ll get nothing from me,” I spat at him. “You owe me for kidnapping me.”
The creature scowled. “Under what pretense? I didn’t kidnap you. You walked into our cavern. I was first in line to take care of the next human who came to us.”
A trickle of memory started to come back to me. I had been exploring the caves north of Belfast with my tour group after lunch. The tour was supposed to help get me out of my cycle of depression. “What did the painting have to do with anything?” I asked. “The Van Gogh. You were deliberately avoiding talking to me about it.”
“We are bound by law to give every human a chance to leave,” he sighed. “If you say the name of the painting, it activates an alarm. That gets you out of the restaurant, and you have the chance to get away. The Van Gogh is not seen by many.”
I narrowed my eyes. “Exactly how many humans have managed to escape?”
“Very few.” The creature grinned cruelly. “Most humans don’t even realize that they’ve been trapped, or they eat something and that keeps them from crossing the barriers.”
I was suddenly very grateful that I had not had any water. “So Van Gogh is a good painter?” I wanted to have the record set straight on that point.
“Van Gogh’s original paintings are so powerful that they have their own magical capabilities. A human that sees one will not be able to get it out of their mind. It will call to them.” He glared. “You shouldn’t have seen it. We get so few pregnant humans in our world.”
I glared right back at him. “And whose idea was it for you to impersonate my recently departed husband?”
“When humans step through our gateway, we can briefly see into their minds and hearts. Your husband featured prominently in your thoughts, so we knew he would be the one most likely to set your mind at ease.” He shuffled his feet. “How did you realize I was not him?”
“Oh ho!” I cried. “It seems you don’t know everything. You’re going to have to die not knowing the answer to that.”
“I will die shortly for allowing you to escape, for the colony must eat,” he said.
“Do you really think I care?” I replied in disgust. “Wait, you were going to eat us? No,” I raised my hand to stop him from answering, and my stomach roiled at the thought. “I don’t want to know.”
I turned and squinted at the sun, deciding which direction I should walk. I placed it behind me and started across the meadow, away from the creature.
“You and your child are marked. Death would have been a kinder fate.” On my wrist where he’d grabbed me was a crescent moon mark that could have been a tattoo.
“Screw you, monster,” I snapped at him over my shoulder. “I hope I never see you again.”
“You won’t,” he said, his voice a mixture of anger and sadness. Moments later I heard his screams and a noise like angry dogs ripping apart an animal.
I didn’t look back; I didn’t dare.
The savage sounds faded behind me as I continued on my way back to human civilization. It wasn’t over, the mark on my wrist was proof of that, but for now I’d won. Everything else I could worry about later.
