“Get out of my kitchen”
RDJ on Jimmy Kimmel Show (January 2024) mentioned that he has a chef who cooks for him and his family and I thought... unlike Robert or Batman with his Alfred, Tony had no chef… and since cooking was one of the few things he wasn't good at, and Pepper wasn’t in charge of it until Endgame… what the heck has he been eating all these years?
Tumblr media
And I mean ALL the years since, let’s say the death of Edwin Jarvis, which we don’t know when happened.
I doubt Pepper cooked for him before they got married (coffee is not food). There’s no mention of it, and she had enough other responsibilities.
So looks like he ate fast food most of the time? At best, he ate in restaurants (including his jet), ordered takeout, or ate something that didn't require cooking. Like waffles, berries, fruits, or smoothies.
Tumblr media
So basically, until he and Pepper started living together and Pepper had enough free time (after Thanos' snap) to cook, he didn't have homemade food. For decades.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are the only times we see him eating home-cooked food before Endgame:
Yinsen cooked for both of them in the cave, but the taste and nutritional qualities of this brew are questionable.
Tumblr media
In AoU Laura Barton cooked for the whole team, but that was once.
Tumblr media
Aunt May treats him to her walnut and date loaf.
Tumblr media
All happened after he was captured and became Iron Man. Why didn't he have a chef to cook for him? It’s not like he had no money to hire one.
He was really bad at being a billionaire, wasn't he?

How about these for the ask game?
6. Least favorite movie
9. Favorite fight scene
21. Unpopular opinion about anything
34. Favorite outfit/look of the character of your choice
HI THANKS!!! <3
6. Least favorite movie
I was gonna say this was hard because I don’t think I have an MCU movie I despise, but also not really hard at all: every Thor movie after the dark world for the OG6. More recently Quantumania. I enjoyed Quantumania, but I’m not a fan, if that makes sense? I think I was just overall disappointed with Kang in this movie. I was sooooo hyped, like unbelievably hyped, about seeing Ant-Man and Kang fight. I rewatched the trailer countless times, I obsessed over the soundtrack - I was really into it. And it fell really flat towards the end for me. I was expecting more. Nonetheless, the world and idea of it is still super cool to me and I may even rewatch it.
For the post-TDW Thor movies, I’m being insanely petty because I can’t even remember Ragnarok clearly and I haven’t watched Love and Thunder. I remember enjoying Ragnarok, but I also remember disliking it. I think I felt it was weird on the characterization front and also too comedic in a bad way. The things I’ve heard about Love and Thunder makes it seem that it has the same issues as Ragnarok, but like, way worse. I still plan on watching it though, because I don’t like speaking on things I have no business speaking on lol.
I’m just really sensitive about Thor characterization, I’ve realized. I think he’s so complex and I really don’t like to see himportrayed as a shallow clown. Or a fool. Or any resembling that. I adore Thor, so so much and so I’m extra nitpicky about him. He has depth and insight that deserves to be explored! I don’t understand where the MCU is trying to take him, but I don’t like it! Same with Bruce, kind of.
Honorable mention: AOU but only for that scene where Bruce fell into Natasha’s boobs. Literally so fucking ridiculous, I will never pass up a chance to talk about how much hatred I have towards that cliche - ugh.
9. Favorite fight scene
I answered this in the previous ask, but I’ll add another one! Not so much of a fight…but a pre-fight maybe. STEVE IN ENDGAME WHERE HE FACES THANOS’ ARMY ALONE. I melt into a puddle each time. I tear up each time. As I’m typing this my eyes are getting misty because I love that moment so much. It encapsulates Steve Rogers (Captain America) so damn well that it makes me want to scream at the top of my lungs. A lone, human, with a broken shield, knowing it’s completely hopeless, but standing up to fight anyways cause the vulnerable people who rely on him are more important than fearing what’s in front of him. I LOVE STEVE THAT’S MY MAN, MY ONE AND ONLY, I WILL NEVER GET OVER EG STEVE.
This is also why I hate when people bash EG for his last 10 minutes of screentime because we have some of his absolute BEST moments in this movie. Literally so fucking good…and people want to circlejerk over how much they hate him because he decided to go back in the past. Mind you, I’m a former “I’m not fond of Steve’s ending because I feel like it doesn’t fit him, but I don’t blame Steve for it” fan - but after all the slander, I’m now the type to draw up an essay on why it makes perfect sense for him to make that decision.
21. Unpopular opinion about anything
I’m trying to think of a #real unpopular MCU opinion that I haven’t said before. One of my pet peeves is when someone asks for an unpopular opinion and it’s like the coldest take you’ve ever heard, lol. I don’t want to be that. I’m realizing I have a huge mouth and talk too much because everything I’m thinking I’ve already said, examples being:
Endgame Steve going back into the past makes perfect sense for his character arc and the circumstances he’s had in the future
I’m not sure if this is unpopular in my corner of fandom or overall: IM1 Tony still holds at least some responsibility for his weapons being…misused. I mean, I feel like even Tony acknowledges this and I don’t even think he’s wrongly giving some blame to himself. I think it shows his self-awareness…and I like that about his character. I know a lot of people say that Tony doesn’t do accountability, but I’d say he absolutely does. Half of his mistakes in the following movies are because he’s trying to find a way to atone. It’s moreso a lot of his fans that like to absolve him of his mistakes, he seems to own up to them pretty frequently. Not always verbally.
Oh! I just thought of one that yes, I’ve said…but I think I’ve said it in DMs not publicly (or maybe I said it in the server before)? Also it’s not even an MCU criticism. I think every conversation surrounding SteveTony in CACW is automatically in bad faith if we only discuss the murder of Howard and Maria and not the Accords. This is partially why I’m in a state of constant annoyance when giving CACW fics a chance. I don’t think it’s a fair or honest discussion or break down without looking at the two main corners of the conflict. Because the Accords is not something to gloss over people! The implications of what would happen to people like Steve is not something to be taken lightly. And the way they were presented is not - Let me stop here before I fall into a rant. I have some self-control.
34. Favorite outfit/look of the character of your choice
I love, love, love Steve’s AOU suit. Well, aesthetic wise at least. They could lose the red accent on the chest and it would be 10x better. But if I’m going for Captain America realism, I’m throwing in my vote for the CW suit! I was going to say the Smithsonian suit was my favorite (lowkey is….) but someone told me that it’s a replica and isn’t fully accurate to the suit he wears in CATFA and frankly, I’ve never checked to confirm. But if that’s wrong, then the Smithsonian suit is absolute my favorite. I can’t even tell you why I like it so much. Classic. Leather. It could benefit from a tighter fit, but the look of it screams Captain America to me <3
THANK YOU FOR THE ASK <3 <3 <3

Thunderstorm - Thor Odinson x Reader
Tumblr media
Words: 1372 Pairing: Thor Odinson x Reader Warnings: you have a fear of thunderstorms, mentions dying, semi-panic attack Summary: You have had a fear of thunderstorms for as long as you can remember. When a storm comes out of nowhere, you don't know what to do until your boyfriend shows up. Author's Note: This takes place after Endgame, before Love and Thunder, and Thor never went away with the Guardians. There is also a kinda flashback that takes place during the party in AoU. This fic is different from what I normally write, there is very little dialogue! I enjoyed trying this different style a lot, though.
Thor / Full Masterlist
---
With the first clap of thunder in the storm, both your and Thor's eyes shot open for drastically different reasons.
Thor only lived a few houses away from yours, but he was still worried about getting to you in time. He wasn't aware it was going to rain or even storm, and he was cursing at himself for not being prepared. Thor grabbed a jacket and rushed out his door to get to you as fast as possible. Normally, you two are ready for the storms and spend the night together, but somehow, you missed this one.
In your bedroom, you were trying to regulate your breathing as you listened to the rain hit the roof, the thunder boom, and the lightning strike. In your logical brain, you knew your boyfriend would show up at your side any minute now. But on the other side of your brain, you were sure that this was the night he wasn't going to be by your side, and you would die in the storm.
You sat up in your bed, failing to keep your breath steady. You grabbed your pillow and hugged it to your chest, squeezing your eyes shut as the next clap of thunder hit and lightning lit up your room.
Though it only takes him a few minutes to get to your house, it felt like an eternity of waiting and fear eating you up. Your head spiraled as the lightning continued to strike, and even though your eyes were shut, it was so bright that you could still see it. And when it was followed by thunder only a few seconds later, shaking the walls, you squealed in fear.
Finally, only a few minutes later, Thor used the spare key to get into your house. Once he shut the door, he shouted your name and rushed to your room. He felt terrible when he saw the state of you on your bed. "Don't worry, I'm right here," Thor comforted you as he sat on the bed and engulfed you in a hug. He rubbed your back and whispered nonsense into your ear to distract you from the storm. Neither of you knew how long the storm would go on for, but now that you were together, it was immensely better. Still, you were scared, but with him right next to you, it didn't feel like you would die in this storm.
Thor talked to you about anything he could think of. He talked about his day, even though you were with him for the majority of it; he told you about the dream he was having and even brought up silly stories from his childhood. At one point, he got distracted himself and talked about the time you first met.
Sometimes it still baffles how you, someone deathly afraid of thunderstorms, fell in love with the freaking god of thunder.
While Thor talked mindlessly to distract you, it gave you the chance to drift off and think. His voice was becoming like white noise, and your eyes were still shut to block out the lightning. You thought back to that night when you first met Thor, even though you were terrified.
It wasn't long after you helped Natasha and Steve in finding The Winter Soldier, and they made sure to invite you and Sam to their party. Natasha was excited to introduce you to the rest of the team, as a highly skilled agent, and Clint couldn't wait to see you again. But when she named off the members of her team that would be there, you froze at hearing Thor's name.
Natasha knew of your fear of storms, but she didn't realize they were still so bad that you were scared to even meet Thor. She kept pushing for an answer when you finally blew up on her, explaining, "He's the god of thunder, Nat! The one thing that I always think is going to be the end of me."
It made her upset, knowing that you were scared to meet Thor. She knows him, he doesn't go around making thunder and lightning appear for no reason, and she was determined that you two would get along. But every time she told you to give him a chance, you got more upset. It got to the point where you were considering not even attending, just worried about being in the same room as him. She backed off and promised you she wouldn't push you to meet him; she just wanted you at the party.
Finally, you agreed to go with her. But not even an hour into the party did you turn around while you were distracted in a random conversation, spilling your drink right into someone's chest. And not just anyone: Thor's.
You remember freezing in the middle of the room, apologizing profusely about spilling your drink on him. Your words were coming out of your mouth, broken and fearful, scared that you would cause him to blow up and your biggest fear would come true.
But instead, he only smiled and said, "Not to worry! It was my fault. Are you okay?" And he extended his hand to help you off the floor. You finally looked up at him when you stood up and realized that Natasha was right. He had the biggest smile you had ever seen and looked at you with such gentle eyes. In that moment, Thor decided you had to be his newest best friend.
Even though you were still weary of him, you gave him a chance. Early on, you told him of your fear of thunderstorms, and he promised he would never do anything to scare or harm you.
You were brought back to reality when Thor said your name a bit louder. The day you met was so many years ago, and so many things had changed, but Thor's promise never did. "How are you doing? I can feel that your heart slowed down," He said, brushing a nearly-dried tear off your cheek.
You took a deep breath and offered a slight smile. "I...think I'm doing better. It always helps to listen to you." And it was true, even if you weren't comprehending every word Thor rattled off, it was soothing to hear his comforting voice while you thought about, well, anything.
The two of you sat on the bed in silence after that, just listening to each other's breath. It is the middle of the night, and you both are tired. Now that the thunder was getting quieter and further away, and the lightning wasn't as bright, you were feeling much better. With Thor by your side, not letting go, you knew you were safe. And there was no chance he was going to leave you alone tonight, just in case the storm started up again.
Thor took the pillow that you were still holding and set it down at the top of the bed so you both could lie down comfortably. You were still in his arms, and he was still admiring you, especially now that you were feeling better. It was still raining, but the rain didn't bother you as much as the storm did. "Thank you, Thor," You said, just above a whisper. "For always being here."
"Of course. You know I would never let you go through that alone," He reminded you.
You nodded, not sure if he actually saw your head move. "I was thinking about when we first met. The irony still isn't lost on me that we got together."
"Well, I made the promise that I would never let the storms harm you, and I intend to keep that promise," Thor replied. "I do agree, though; it is kind of funny how it all worked out."
With Thor beside you and the rain so light it couldn't bother you, you were ready to drift back to sleep. "I don't know what I did to deserve you," You said in breathy sleepiness.
Thor smiled as he watched your eyes flutter, wondering the same thing. He had never been so happy that someone spilled a drink on him and eventually trusted the exact thing they were afraid of to help them through that fear.

“Well, Tony mostly drank, sat around and complained about Steve”
How fucking sad is that. Yeah, we get to see his life in Endgame with his marriage to Pepper and having Morgan, but like. Other than those little snippets in SM: Homecoming we don’t see how Tony dealt with aftermath of CA:CW.
The MCU literally bulldozed right over Tony’s trauma other than IM3 and some of AOU; they never even mentioned his struggle with alcoholism from the comics, and that line just broke my heart because he was obviously struggling. He basically had no one to turn to and he suffered for how long before he was able to have a family that wasn’t just the Avengers, which, let’s be honest here, mostly treated him like shit.
What I truly hate about the MCU is that they felt the need to paint him as a glorified martyr, because I guess you’re only a real hero if you suffer endlessly and then die. I don’t care about that bullshit speech at the end of Endgame. For all the shit Tony went through he fucking deserved a happy ending with his family.

Hi! That is an impressive and intriguing list of WIPs! Can I ask for more details about Five People Wanda Slept With And One She? Hope you're having an amazing day!
Thanks, friend!
I would really like to finish this one eventually, but smut takes me SO long to write, so I really shot myself in the foot by choosing to write a 5+1 smut fic, haha. I was inspired by WandaVision for it, particularly "Previously On," and Wanda's method of dealing with trauma/grief being avoidance and pretending to be happy. Also, Elizabeth Olsen pretty and so many Marvel people hot.
(It's also kind of a "fuck you, purity culture" fic inspired by the ye olde days of LiveJournal fandom, where people wrote a lot more "wait, are those siblings fucking each other?" fic than they do now, because, like, Wanda/Pietro.)
But it starts the night after AOU ends with Wanda/Steve, and then has Wanda/Winter Soldier, Wanda/Natasha, Wanda/Vision, and then after Endgame and before Westview, Wanda/Bucky. And the +1 "And One She -- " that's unclear whether it actually ever happened is, obviously, Pietro, and the reader can draw their own conclusions.
Snippet! (TW for grief/mourning, sibling death, Hydra ideology, and mentions of unwanted sterilization.)
“America needs its captain,” Wanda says. “Sokovia is gone. It is my fault, I think. There is nothing left that needs Wanda Maximoff.”
“Hey.” Captain Rogers puts his big hands over Wanda’s where she’s picking at the bedspread. Loose threads already, and it’s brand new. “The Avengers need Wanda Maximoff, okay? I need her. Clint needs her. The Vision needs her. Natasha. Bruce. Even Tony needs you, Wanda. I know—I don’t expect you to agree or to get it or to accept it from all of us, but I’m a good judge of character, Wanda, and you’re gonna be a helluva something.” He lifts one hand and gently tucks a lock of hair behind Wanda’s ear. “All I can do is throw a big metal discus around and punch people. You can change their minds. That’s pretty special.”
“I am sorry, again,” Wanda whispers. Captain Rogers still has one hand over hers, and his skin is warm. He radiates heat, and Wanda is so used to being cold. “I hope the nightmares do not plague you too long. I… I have no excuses. Only Hydra’s justifications.”
“Hey.” Steve squeezes her hand. “You didn’t give me a tenth of the nightmares I usually see. I mean, don’t do it again, but it’s okay, Wanda. You’re forgiven.”
Wanda squeezes Steve’s hand back, and she doesn’t let go. She keeps her hand tucked around his for long, silent minutes, until finally Steve turns his hand so that she can lace her fingers between his. It’s a show of trust: Wanda spins her magic with these hands, and Steve is willingly allowing her to stroke her thumb along the length of his index finger in slow, sweeping passes. They hold hands so long that Steve’s palm starts to get a little sweaty against Wanda’s, and he says—
“Wanda…”
Wanda presses her lips together. “Please.” She squeezes his hand again. “I do not want to be alone.”
Steve extricates his hand from her grip, but only moves far enough away to tuck the stubborn lock of her dark hair behind her ear again. Wanda knows that she isn’t beautiful—she’s too thin, a thinness that spells a life of pain and hardship and denial, and her eyes stand out from her face like lamplights in a dark mine. But her hair is clean, and her eyes are dry now even if they are still rimmed in red beneath the layers of half-gone black kohl, and Steve is only a man.
“Kinda tired of being alone, myself,” Steve admits, very quietly, with a look on his face like he didn’t quite mean to say anything at all. His fingertips touch the soft skin behind Wanda’s ear.
“Then do not be alone, just for tonight.” Wanda slides her hand up the length of his thigh, denim rough under her palm. His muscle has hardly any soft humanness. It isn’t what Wanda is used to feeling, but that’s good. She doesn’t want what she knows. If she has that, she will cry and never stop. “Please, I cannot—I can’t--”
Steve presses his mouth against hers. It isn’t a kiss, really. But it is what Wanda wants.
“If Pepper stocked your room like mine, then you have, uh—” Steve goes red. “Thins. Condoms. In the, uh, in the bedside table.”
Wanda nods and doesn’t say that Hydra sterilized her years ago. Undesirable. “Okay.”

For the ask #14! (For any of your fics, I love hearing you talk about them)
14) What is something you wrote in a fic that you are hoping readers picked up on but you don't know if they did? And/or, what is something that you were excited that readers did pick up on?
I think there's a lot of stuff in Horizon that didn't get picked up on, but I usually get overexcited and tell people about it. I had a couple people realize Steve was being held in Stark Tower before the reveal, but I knew that that was going to be fairly obscure for people to pick up on because Steve's description of it is accurate to AoU Avengers Tower, but that's not the most commonly remembered version of it.
Nobody who's commented on Horizon 14 yet -- I guess this is a spoiler for the newest chapter, but whatever -- has picked up on this being Yonderverse Bruce's lead-in to Professor Hulk in Endgame/Yonder, or at least nobody's mentioned it. Another Horizon one is from the very last scene in 14; the hint is that it's a reference to Iron Man, Loki's not just being a troll by precisely replicating the portal energy from Avengers.
Oh, I can think of something that I don't think anyone's ever mentioned: in Yonder 6, during Loki's confrontation with Farbauti, that is actually the moment when he finds out that (a) Farbauti is his birth-mother and (b) that she is the one who made the decision to expose him, not Laufey. I think people have picked up on that this is the first time they ever directly interact, but not that this is when Loki actually finds out her relationship to him. And because it's from Natasha's POV, she doesn't necessarily realize the relevance of his reaction there, but he doesn't name Farbauti when he's giving his big speech the previous chapter and then in Horizon he also very specifically says during his coronation that he doesn't know who his birth-mother is. (I write the Jotuns as being polygamous, partially because then I get to do even more inheritance law and politics, but that also means there was no way for Loki to know which of Laufey's wives his birth-mother was.) And it's all spoken sideways in the dialogue, so it's not as clear as it could be, but I think that's how they would be interacting in this situation. Thor knows the background that Natasha doesn't, and probably also looked up the laws back on Asgard after Thor 1, so he realizes the relevance of what is being half-spoken (by Jotun law and custom Farbauti is never going to openly acknowledge Loki as her son by birth, which is why she keeps hammering the "Odin's son" in her conversation). So does Loki, and he knows he did a major legal no-no by offering up a public claim to Jotunheim, which is what Farbauti's rebuking him about: he does not have a legal right to Jotunheim under both Asgardian and Jotun law (which I talked about a little here).
I'm trying to think what people have picked up on because I usually get overexcited and just tell people the next day or even the same day on Twitter. I know there were a few people who picked up on Frigga's divergence point in Morning not being killing Malekith, but I don't think anyone predicted that it was that she had absorbed the Aether. (Her divergence point is taking the Aether, her nexus event was killing Malekith; they occur so close together that the difference doesn't matter that much, but they are different.)

The way Scott was treated in endgame was just… strange? I haven’t seen anyone mention it, but the way everyone else treats him is just kind of awful.. and there was no reason for it?? They just treat him badly.
They only wanted him as comedic relief. It's a shame because I really like the scene he has with Steve and Nat once he arrives in the compound (even though I despise how Steve treats him but then again, nothing Steve does in that movie is in-character for him so we only got the writers to blame for that).
But other than that... well, his first scene out of the van, walking the street, checking the walls for names and when he meets Cassie again. That's a good one too.
I can't remember for the life of me any other valuable scene with him after that. Just the rest of the team ignoring him and Scott acting funny.
Everyone in EG acts so damn weird, out of character for no freaking reason and they all seem so tired of being with one another. It's like in AoU we finally saw them as a group of friends but everything that came after managed to ruin that until they turned them into a bunch of people who only stuck together out of obligation.

will work on a full timeline eventually but here's a wip list of divergences / headcanons for my bruce:
his first name is david, not robert. i just think it fits n.orton's portrayal ( whom my bruce is based on ) better, and david was also the name given to him in the script.
following comic canon, brian was abusive and killed rebecca in a domestic dispute when she tried to take bruce and leave. brian got arrested later, bruce cut all contact with him for years after that, and ( as a compromise with the little we do get about bruce's parents in the m.cu... this may change depending on my feelings about it ) brian died in the hospital about a year before bruce's accident. he hates the man, but has sometimes wondered what brian would've said to him if he had visited him on his deathbed.
he moves into avengers tower after the team is formed and has his own lab there. he also gets a puppy at some point between the avengers and aou, since he misses the dog that lived with him before and it turns out hulk is also fond of animals.
i do consider aou canon to my bruce, but no b.rutasha romance. he also doesn't get mind controlled by wanda. she tries, but he boots her out before any real damage is done. both bruce and hulk are pretty pissed off about it.
bruce doesn't wind up on sakaar in my main verse. i may make it a separate verse at some point because i like the concept, but that'll probably draw from the comics / other stuff instead of the mcu. this means i won't follow ragnarok, with the exception of the circumstances of brian's death as mentioned above.
related to the above, bruce can sire children ( ignoring the statement he couldn't in aou ) but in his main verse, he doesn't have skaar. in general, i don't consider the she-hulk series canon.
civil war... hm. we'll come back to that, but in cases where i acknowledge it as canon bruce is against the accords. ross' involvement is a big part of it, but he's also against the idea of more government oversight in general.
as a default, i don't follow infinity war or endgame as part of my canon. if necessary we can plot that out.
bruce stays in regular contact with betty, either as lovers or just good friends depending on the verse. she's one of the most important people in his life ( no matter how much the mcu tries to ignore it ) and he's not going to give up a chance at reconnecting with her.

I was inspired to go back and re-read your guys and bots series and I nearly screamed when I came across this line: “Hey,” Tony says, “the moment I invent a time machine, you’ll be the first to know.”
HELLO I am a useless prophet, nice to meet you!
There’s another pre-IW (I think?) fic of mine, I can’t remember which one but someone pointed out to me that it uses the term “endgame” and I’m just like…. okay. 😔

professor hulk was the worst move marvel could’ve made with bruce’s character because literally no-one wanted to see “the brains and the brawn” put together, ESPECIALLY not bruce.
all through the avengers movies we’ve seen bruce’s hatred toward hulk and how being hulk has turned him into someone that the world feared rather than admired. age of ultron literally centres on how hulk ruins bruce’s life. the entire world hates him because of what hulk has done and how he’s acted. “where in the world am i not a threat?” literally acknowledges bruce seeing himself as a threat and a monster, not just hulk. and nobody actively tries to dissuade bruce of this at all. nat literally tells him “i’m a monster too, we are the same.” and writing bruce out of the narrative by having him fly off into fuck knows land without a single acknowledgement or tiny ounce of closure for his AoU arc was so cheap. and then nobody goes and looks for him? nobody gives a shit? it’s just a testament to how little of a shit marvel give about bruce as a character and his development.
there was a MULTITUDE of trauma that bruce experienced in AoU and it was never acknowledged or talked about ever again. with the screen time he got in ragnarok, it was covered as much as possible (hulk still convinced earth hates him and thor reassuring him they don’t — something hulk has waited two years to hear) and taika was the only person to remotely care about bruce and his dynamic with hulk and treated it with maturity. when he’s away from the other avengers, bruce is somebody that he likes to be. thor is the only person to have treated him this way and treated him like an actual person because he is the one that is most similar to him. i don’t know how they called what he had with nat in AoU “romance” when she actively encouraged bruce to hate himself for what hulk did and does and she harms him to turn him into the hulk. what???
ragnarok actually managed to burn all that to the ground only for the russos to turn it back into comedic relief in infinity war. bruce is at such a crossroads with hulk and trying to balance their dynamic and trust of each other and then fucking endgame rolls around and suddenly they’re the best of friends and bruce thinks it’s a good idea to merge them together. i’m sorry? actual in character bruce would never actively choose to do this a) because he hates hulk and that has been his entire arc for literally a decade b) bruce has shown he prefers to have control and not hulk out if/where possible. he never wants to hulk out obviously, but there’s no way he would ever choose to give hulk any sort of power over him purposefully and c) bruce’s brains and his strength as a human are worth ten times the strength that hulk gives him. not to mention the way bruce’s return to earth is brushed off completely in infinity war when tony doesn’t give bruce a choice in the matter of fighting ebony maw and cull obsidian. bruce literally says “i don’t want to fight but when do i ever get what i want?” and it was put forward as comic relief. are you okay????? once again, in ragnarok, thor asked bruce to fight and when he said no thor never pushed him to do anything. bruce chose to help him on asgard and the important part was that he chose to do it himself, knowing the consequences. thor never forced him, but tony did.
we fell in love with bruce before he was hulk and we’ve grown with him as a character AS bruce, not hulk, not professor hulk. he’s at his best when he’s given the time to be fleshed out as a character, not as some stupid comedic relief and out of character bullshit writing and “development”. it makes me so mad honestly. as one of the most interesting and complex characters in marvel with a story that holds such depth and trauma, he deserves SO much better.

They really made Wanda's only personality trait being a mother. Like, even her alternate, 838 Earth variant, as soon as she is released from being possessed by MCU Wanda, is immediately just like, "My boys!" which, yeah, she should be worried about them, but she should also be like wtf happened how did I get possessed did I just kill a bunch of people? And prime MCU Wanda has literally nothing else about her, no goals, no personality outside of being a mom. She doesn't even feel like the Wanda from WandaVision, who still managed to keep her personality while being a mother. Multiverse of Madness Wanda is nothing except a mother.
And to make it worse, when she can't become a mother, MCU Wanda's immediate choice of action is to kill herself. It basically continues the message that they started with Natasha in AoU and Endgame that if you aren't or can't become a mother you're literally better off dead. It's so fucking awful and damaging to be putting these ideas out into the world especially with what's going on in countries like America regarding women's reproductive rights currently.
Oof that last line. Yeah...Disney/MCU has been pushing the nuclear family trope a lot recently. I remember one of the key criticisms of EG was that Nat was sacrificed because she didn't/couldn't have a nuclear family, while Clint needed to preserve his. Tony had his nuclear family added with a forced 5 year gap in order to maximise sympathy.
I had a circuitous conversation with my friend who watched the movie (she liked parts of it). I pointed out Wanda literally spent the last 3 movies/shows agonising over Vision, why was that not a thing? What about her twin she had been codependent on for most of her formative years? Why was he not mentioned? Why was her made up kids the trigger? And she was like yeah but they were real to her! And I was like...they were real for TWO WEEKS. Vision and Pietro were real for YEARS.
And then she was like but the DARK HOLD. And I was like even if the dark hold corrupted people by showing them what they desire, why was her biggest desire her kids who barely existed? Why was her greatest desire not the family she lost? Or Vision? For whom she had so much grief she willed an entire reality into shape? And why didn't she just create her kids again?
And my friend said again, BUT THE DARK HOLD.
Anyway we ended up agreeing the dark hold is just some convenient plot mumbo-jumbo to make Wanda a villain. (Also that seems to summarise most of the arguments I've seen on tumblr over her portrayal in DSMOM)
I didn't watch a lot of interviews with Lizzie Olsen but I got the sense she was fairly involved (as much as an actor can be) on drafting Wanda's emotional arc in WV, whereas I remember that interview with Benedict and Lizzie (the one where they said Sebastian hasn't been hit with the ugly stick) where they both awkward laughed and said yeah we didn't really know what we were doing until on the day (or something along those lines).
One of the main criticisms I've seen is the trope that powerful women are emotionally unstable, which perpetuates the myth that perhaps women should not have access to great power because they can't control it (like emotionally stable men can). This is the trope that Captain Marvel subverted. Sadly...Wanda just fell back into it.

A Pure Soul (Yandere!Wanda Maximoff x ADD!Autistic!reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Two weeks or so after Wanda arrives at the Avengers’ Place, (y/n) shows up. An autistic Avenger who’s extremely honest and who doesn’t really seem to mind just being by themself, but also is kind and even affectionate to others. Wanda’s smitten by this and does the unthinkable.
Request?: Nope. I’m literally just throwing this out of the back of my head. From the Yandere Starter Prompts list by @yandere-mccree
Prompt: 5. “This world doesn’t deserve an angel like you.”
Warnings: (AOU Spoilers, CACW spoilers, IW spoilers, Endgame spoilers, torture sorta, sleep paralysis mention, ableism, slight manipulation?, kidnapping, mind-breaking mention)
Note: I wanted to try a bit more of a subtle Yandere vibe for Wanda. I’ve never really written one of these, so it might not be as great as I hoped. I don’t encourage or condone the unhealthy aspects.
Word Count: 3,268
-------------------------------------------
It’s only been a couple of weeks or so after she’d been taken from Sokovia after it was destroyed. Wanda’s still mourning the loss of her brother when you arrive. You're a shy person, not a fan of eye contact, but you do like touch, hugs in particular, as well as head pets.
Wanda doesn’t pay attention to you much at first. You’re just another Avenger to her; a nice change of pace, but that’s all. But then comes Lagos. Wanda now has guilt along with so much trauma. It’s no surprise when you hear her crying in her room one day, the door somehow left open a crack.
“I’m a terrible person,” she says softly, thinking no one heard.
You peek in and catch her with a pillow to her face, weeping. Your heart breaks. You know it’s on her, but she clearly feels terrible. You stand in the doorway until she soon notices you.
“Oh....(y/n),” she says as casually as she can. “Hey.”
“You’re not a terrible person,” you tell her.
She’s shocked to hear this.
“You’re not afraid of me?”
You shake your head.
“Why would I be?”
“I’m too destructive,” she says, sniffling. “You saw what happened in Lagos.”
You enter your room and sit on her bed with her.
“But you’re also very kind,” you point out. “And you’re a good person. You clearly care when you hurt others, and you want to rectify your mistakes. A bad person wouldn’t do that.”
In that moment, you can sense her need for some physical contact. You lean over and give her a hug, rubbing her back.
“I’m glad you’re here, Wanda,” you tell her.
And you are. You truly are. Even if you don’t know her well, you’ve heard her talk a few times, and she’s a breath of fresh air. Most of the Avengers tend to be a bit loud and sometimes a bit insensitive, but not Wanda. Wanda’s extremely sensitive to others’ feelings and tends to be a quiet person. It’s something you need. Her accent is also soothing to you for some reason, not to mention she’s beautiful.
You let her cry on your shoulder for a few hours, even humming to her a bit. Then it’s dinnertime and you’re called to the kitchen. That’s when something in Wanda changes. You, an Avenger who barely knows her, aren’t afraid of her; in fact, you’re glad that she’s here. She also doesn’t know you all that well, but she’s seen some acts of kindness you’ve done for her and the other Avengers, even when you thought no one was watching. And she heard your thoughts when you were hugging her, all wonderful things about her, how you wish she could see how amazing she is, how beautiful she is.
At that moment, her heart melts. How can someone with such a sweet and pure soul like you exist? How could someone so....perfect exist? It’s a ray of sunshine in her heart, making her forget about the guilt and trauma, even if only for a few moments. Your presence is exactly what she needs. And she needs more of it.....
===================================
At first it starts off simple and small; making an effort to see you more often, running into you in the compound, smiling at you, making conversation. And honestly, there’s something about Wanda you can’t quite shake off. She does make your heart flutter; sometimes you get shy around her or even blush. It’s adorable and it’s something that only makes her more fond of you.
She discovers you’re autistic when the lights of the compound are too bright one time. The second she notices how anxious you are after Tony turns on the lights before getting his coffee in the other room, she immediately turns them down for you, and she’s the first person you tell.
“I’m touched that you trust me enough to confess this,” she tells you with a few tears in your eyes.
Wanda asks you what other things you like or dislike, things that give you sensory overload and things that help you calm down. She asks you about your experiences as an autistic person. You’re touched by how considerate she is, and even confess to her about your ADD, or Inattentive ADHD, as they call it now. She also asks about that, but does her best to take it a little at a time so that you’re not overwhelmed with questions.
What you don’t know is that she already knows all of this, having telepathy and all; she wants to hear it from you so that it doesn’t come off as creepy. She also loves to hear your voice. It’s like music to her ears, music that eases her stresses and trauma, even if only temporarily.
Then she starts to make some more effort, actively implementing what she knows and paying attention to things you say and do, so that she knows what she can do or say without it being suspicious. Wanda wants the relationship to move as naturally as possible. You’re her precious angel, and she doesn’t want to scare you. And she won’t unless it’s inevitable or of absolute necessity.
Wanda buys a bunch of fidgets and other sensory things for you to try, keeping in mind what you’ve told her. But also throwing in some “close guesses,” meaning things she knows but that you haven’t told her, things close to what you’ve told her. She can easily pass it off as just “having a hunch,” as long as it doesn’t happen too often.
Though she wants it to be as natural as possible, she occasionally uses her powers on you; nothing too severe at first. Just sending little suggestions to your mind; she’s told you a few of her favorite things, so she’ll base those suggestions off of that. One of the first suggestions is why not ask her how to make paprikash? She suggests that the two of you make it together and you agree. You’re not big on spice, but there’s some sweet paprika as a substitute. And it’s not as spicy as you think, but it’s delicious.
Sometimes Wanda sends a suggestion to get you going on a rant on one of your Special Interests; it’s both a chance for her to “get to know you more,” but mostly because she adores hearing you speak about what you love; she especially loves seeing that twinkle in your eyes and she loves seeing your face light up. It’s one of the most precious things to her, seeing you so happy. She wants to cherish every single second of it.
Though you’re nervous about it, suggestions of humming or singing to her pop into your mind. You give into them fairly often, mostly later on in the relationship. She tells you about how beautiful your voice really is, which gets you shy and blushing. It’s so endearing to her, seeing her sweet little sunbeam being so cute without even trying.
When you come back from a battle, Wanda checks to make sure you’re okay as soon as possible. She volunteers to patch you up to the best of her ability, and she soon becomes the person you first think of when you need first aid or care after a battle.
Then Wanda decides to take it a little further; her room in the compound is next to yours. She stands outside of your door, waiting for you to go to sleep, before opening the door a tad and sending in sweet dreams. If there’s one thing she despises, it’s seeing her sweet little angel upset, and this assures that it won’t happen.
Next she sends little dreams with her in it; first only small appearances, but then she becomes apparent little by little until she ends up being the focus of many of them. Of course she’ll throw in miscellaneous dreams here and there, just to make sure you don’t get suspicious.
Then comes Wanda’s biggest suggestion to you; you two have gotten so close over the past few months, why not ask her to be your girlfriend? It only makes sense. You still feel those butterflies in your stomach, you two both have amazing chemistry, and you both are very close. At this point, you don’t question it. You’re just nervous to ask, as you’ve never been in a relationship before. Of course the nervousness is also slightly part of the suggestion, more on a subconscious level. It’s not enough to make you panic; just enough to make you shy when asking her. And of course, you are. You end up stammering a little, blushing a bit. She fondly assures you that it’s okay to feel this nervousness, and happily accepts being your girlfriend.
===============================
Now that you two are a couple, her next suggestion for you is to give into those affectionate feelings you have when cuddling with her. She loves the warmth you bring. Wanda didn’t think you could get any cuter, and yet she’s a full-on puddle when you cuddle with her. You’re just so sweet and Wanda can’t help but feel protective over you.
Others begin to notice you opening up more and they start making conversation with you. Of course Wanda’s listening to their thoughts to make sure they’re not interested in going further than a friendship with you. Friends are okay for her, and she’s very excited inside when you make a new friend, as she knows that making friends doesn’t exactly come naturally to you. However if it ever gets to anything past that, she’d have to take action. One does express interest in you, and that doesn’t sit well with Wanda. This person doesn’t deserve such a sweet angel, let alone her sweet little angel. Something must be done.
That night, after sending you sweet dreams, she sneaks over to their place and hides just outside of their bedroom door. She’s able to track their brain activity, so she knows when they’ve gone to sleep. Once they do, she sends them their worst nightmares, ones that paralyze them in their sleep out of fear. The next day, you don’t see them at their usual time. You figure maybe they’re sick or they overslept. In the meantime, she’s there to keep you company. It happens on and off with them for some odd reason.
If it’s one of the Avengers taking an interest in you, Wanda ensures that the two of you don’t get too close. If you go on a mission and need a partner, Wanda steps up. It’s not really a surprise to them, with her being your girlfriend and all. She glares at the Avenger who’s showing interest, letting them know to stay back.
=========================================
And then shit hits the fan.
You come back to the compound in tears one night and Wanda’s the first one at your side.
“(Y/N), what happened?” she asks worried.
You tell her about how you ran into someone who said that autism is a disease that needs to be cured and that you shouldn’t exist because you’re a burden on society. Wanda doesn’t leave your side that night. You need someone there for you. Externally she’s supportive and loving. But internally, she’s both heartbroken and fuming as she looks through the memory. A fire storms inside of her. How dare they tell such a sweet and pure soul like you that they’re a burden! How dare they say her sweet angel has a disease that needs to be cured! Wanda knows that autism has its challenges, but also its upsides. It’s not anything that needs a cure. It’s a part of your identity. She will NOT let this slide. Not even a little.
After cuddling with you, and sending extra-special sweet dreams that night, Wanda finds the place of the person who told you this. Wanda sneaks into their bedroom and induces their worst nightmares, along with a dose of sleep paralysis. She uses her telekinesis to throw objects around the room and even at them. She uses her power to make them choke. Her grief and anger only amplifies the severity. It’s satisfying to her to hear them scream, plead, beg for mercy, to see them so helpless, knowing what they said to her precious angel. She keeps doing this to them until they’re completely broken, even going back multiple nights, just to make sure they’re gone for good.
You don’t hear from them until you find out that they’ve become completely catatonic. Part of you still feels bad for them for some reason, but you don’t know why.
“You have nothing to feel bad about, (Y/N),” Wanda assures you when you bring this up with her. “Their guilt probably just got the best of them. C’mon, how about we get some lunch together?”
Wanda’s got your back and more for the next few days. And then Tony locks her in her room, and you’re infuriated. He just sees her as a weapon and not a person. In spite of their attempts to convince you to come along on missions, you decide to stay back and keep Wanda company, to make her confinement more bearable.
The two of you both fight Tony together, end up in the Raft, and escape together, living away from the compound. Then comes the war. You’re the one dusted and Wanda survives. Those five years without you are hell to her. She spirals back into grief, guilt, and trauma, blaming herself for not being able to save you. Thank God for Bruce Banner. In 2023, he brings you back. The second Wanda finds this out, she rushes for you, her eyes filled with tears, and you’re just as relieved to see her. Your warmth sparks a sense of purpose back into her. After you died and were brought back to life, to her you’re truly an angel now, and she refuses to let an angel be harmed. She’s reluctant to let you fight, but she tells you as long as you stay by her, it should be fine.
Tony sacrifices himself to save you all from Thanos. The second the funeral is over, you decide to take a nap. Wanda gently grabs you and takes you to a remote location; a cottage in the middle of the woods on an island. Those five years without you and then suddenly having you back sent her protective instincts into overdrive. She decides that she can’t let anyone or anything hurt you anymore. She’s lost her parents and her brother. She can’t lose you. She won’t lose you.
When you come to, you’re shocked about where you are.
“H-huh?”
Sitting up you begin to panic when you hear a familiar voice.
“Good! You’re awake.”
The smell of paprika hits your nose as you see her face, a sweet smile upon it.
“W-wanda?”
She brings over a plate of chicken paprikash.
“What do you think, (y/n)?” she asks.
“Of what?”
She gives a little giggle.
“Of our new home, of course.”
Your heart jumps in your chest.
“New home?”
Wanda sets down the food on a nearby table, and sits next to you on the bed you’ve been placed in.
“(Y/N), I.....those past five years....”
“Must’ve been horrific,” you say, still in shock.
She nods.
“And I wish I could’ve saved you.”
She gently takes ahold of your hands.
“And now that you’re back....I’m scared to lose you. I want us to be together forever.”
Your face flushes, and you glance away. She giggles a little and gently guides your face back up to her.
“My sweet (y/n), you’re too adorable,” she tells you.
Your eyes meet the bridge of her nose, and she doesn’t make you look at her eyes. She knows eye contact can be hell for you.
“I’ve missed this energy so much; I’ve missed your kind-hearted nature, your beautiful voice, your wide and innocent eyes, that cute little button nose, you cuddling up close to me. I’ve set everything in this cottage up just for you. I want you to be as comfortable and happy as possible here.”
“Where exactly are we, though?” you ask.
“Somewhere where you’ll never be hurt again. I’ll ensure that.”
This set off a slight red flag, and you panic a little.
“We couldn’t have just moved to a house in the suburbs or maybe a house in Greece?”
She shakes her head as she pets yours, something that absolutely gives you butterflies.
“No. This world doesn’t deserve an angel like you, sweet (y/n). You have such a pure soul-you are a pure soul-and the world outside will only hurt you. Sweet and innocent people, especially at your age, are very rare. They’re like diamonds; real diamonds. They’re extremely difficult to find, but once you do, they’re a treasure that needs to be protected. I want to be that for you. I want to protect you, keep you safe, love you and care for you. This cottage, this island, it can become a whole new world. At least give it a try? For me? Please?”
You want to say no, right? You’re not sure. It feels like something inside of you is at war, but one side is winning. Wanda’s clearly relieved to have you, and you’ve loved her for a long time now as she’s loved you for a long time now. You feel comfortable around her too. Perhaps a little protection might not be the worst idea. At the very least, a trial run wouldn’t hurt.
You nod.
“Okay, I’ll give it a go.”
Wanda hugs you close and gives you a small peck on the cheek.
“Thank you, my sweet (y/n)! Thank you.”
The two of you have dinner together and then watch a few sitcoms before you cuddle up in bed as Wanda softly sings you a Sokovian lullaby, your head lying near her shoulder. As you drift off to sleep, Wanda watches you endearingly. What you don’t know is that you’re going to enjoy being here. She’d love it if it’s on your own terms, but if you start to seem distant, she won’t hesitate to use her magic to send some suggestions. Maybe it’s to prompt you to ask her to include or remove or change something, or even to enhance your joy for the little things. Extreme worst-case scenario? She’ll plague you with a few nightmares, ones that’ll show you how dangerous the outside world is without her, but it will pain her to do so. Expect a lot of cuddling and kisses from her when you wake up in tears in the hopes of making things better. And she makes sure they do. All she wants is for you to stay and be happy and safe with her.
And even if you wanted to leave, it’s doubtful that even with your powers, you’ll get past the barrier Wanda’s put up. It’s doubtful that you’ll even get that far. It’s a big island after all. Big and deserted. She wants to give you enough space, but not too much. Just enough to make you happy. If you somehow find it, Wanda will make sure you’ll forget finding it. She’ll fill in the gaps with something else so that it doesn’t seem suspicious. It’s not surprising that she knows how to deal with so many outcomes; she’s had five years to think it over, after all, just in case you came back.
But none of that matters right now. All that matters is that she has you, her precious angel, and you’ll be hers forever one way or the other.

#I have a whole dissertation on how half the reason steve went back to peggy in Endgame#was because Natasha was the only thing keeping him grounded in the present instead of the past#and without her he was unable to fully move on from his time in the ice#(because Bucky was able to move on where Steve wasn't and Sam never actually needed him to 'stay')#but that dissertation can wait a couple of days
girl where's the dissertation???????
Okay okay! Here's the dissertation (and it's long, so you're welcome!):
I’m actually pretty chill with Steve’s ending in Endgame on an emotional level. I'm incredibly bitter about it narratively, because it doesn't make any sense, but it does feel right. Steve's ending is a classic case of "I can absolutely see where this came from and why they did it, but they leaped over the on-screen depiction of Steve's journey necessary to get there."
For Steve as he is canonically portrayed, he never quite adjusted to his life after the ice. His story has been one of “settling” and trying to move on from this massive trauma that was dealt to him; it's also about his general inability to do so even after 10 years and god knows how many movies. While Winter Soldier makes a big deal out of Steve trying to 'move on' (his talk with Peggy, his interactions with Natasha, Sam, and Nick, etc), the movie ends with him literally going back to the past: fighting HYDRA (who was never defeated) in his old suit while trying to save Bucky.
And even as Old!Peggy tells him to move on romantically, he's demonstrably unable to do so with Sharon (now given, this is largely because both the MCU writers and the fandom treated Sharon like absolute shit and undermined any arc she might have gotten to justify her relationship with Steve, but the point stands). And I think in terms of romance, Peggy has been pushed as “it” for him. Between his vision in AOU, Steve carrying around that compass for literally the entire franchise, and his continual mentions of her, not to mention the bits in TWS where he’s visiting her and the whole funeral thing in Civil War…he like…clearly Never Got Over Her™, regardless of whether he considered her the love of his life before the ice or not.
Basically, Steve’s whole problem throughout the MCU, exemplified by the story told in TWS, was that he Couldn’t Move On, even though he tried to in various forms, and that was sort of encapsulated by his focus on Peggy. I’m not saying it was HEALTHY, just that it does make SENSE when you think about Steve and his struggles post-ice.
And ultimately, Steve's two links to the present are Natasha and Sam. Bucky can't anchor him in the present because he's a living reminder of his past and all that he failed to do and feels responsible for because he was iced (he didn't get his date with Peggy, Bucky was tortured and brainwashed for several decades, his war buddies are all dead or super old, HYDRA survived to infiltrate SHIELD, Howard spent decades obsessively looking for him and neglecting his son, etc). Sam is firmly in the present, but he can't anchor Steve there because he doesn't understand him on the deep, fundamental level Steve needs. He basically fills the role of neutral outside observer in Steve's life; he's able to call Steve out on his shit pretty easily because he has no deep emotional involvement with or trauma connected to any of the people involved with Steve's own trauma, but he can't help him move on from it.
But Natasha? Nat is just as fucked up and haunted by her past and the "what-ifs" in her life as Steve is. It comes from an incredibly different place than Steve, but the similarities of circumstances are there. And what Natasha did for Steve is give him hope that he could live in the present and move beyond his past, because if Natasha could move beyond her past and live in the present, he could too. And she does try her best to help him move on! She gives him the notebook, jokes with him, tries to get him to leave his house and date and interact with other people, and helps him navigate the modern world. She fights beside him and attends Peggy's funeral with him and goes on the run with him and of all the Avengers, works with Steve most closely during the Blip.
So when Natasha dies, who's left to help anchor Steve and navigate the post-Blip world with? I mean…realistically after Endgame Tony is dead, Natasha is dead, Bucky has done what Steve couldn’t and MOVED ON and built himself a life, and Sam doesn’t actually need him even though he’s a rock in Steve’s life. And while Bucky and Sam are both anchors in Steve's life, neither of them can help him move on, because his issues are fundamentally different from theirs and his ability to actually build a functional life outside of the Avengers is next to nil compared to either Bucky or Sam (which we see in TFATWS with Sam's family and Bucky's List). Hence, why his connection to Natasha was so important for anchoring him to the present, because like him, Nat was also functionally unable to build a life outside of SHIELD/The Avengers.
So that’s his two deepest friendships permanently gone, his oldest friend managing to heal and move on when he can’t, and a friend who doesn't actually need him to stay. Not to mention that Clint isn't an active Avenger anymore, Wanda fucked off to play sit-com housewife in New Jersey, Thor is going galaxy-hopping/soul-searching, and Bruce has gotten to a psychological state where he can coexist with Hulk. The Avengers as Steve knew them are finished, the compound is destroyed, and new heroes have stepped up to the plate. As of the end of Endgame...what life is there even to live for Steve if he goes back to the present? The people Steve built his post-ice life around basically moved on without him or are now dead. He's now lost his second family in addition to his first.
So I think within the story that Endgame told, Steve’s decision makes sense and FEELS right even if it doesn’t explicitly narratively follow from the other movies in the franchise. When he sees Peggy on the time heist, I think it wakes him up to the possibility that he doesn't have to constantly suffer for the sake of other people or be alone for the rest of his life; he can be happy too. So he hands the shield off to the one person he trusts implicitly to both do right by its legacy and stay mentally stable while doing so (Sam), tells his oldest friend and newest friend to take care of each other, and goes back to the only place he's ever felt like he's truly belonged: Peggy's arms.
Here, Steve gets another chance: he can right all the wrongs that have troubled him since he woke up in 2012, he gets his happy ending with the woman he loves, and he can finally, for the first time in over a decade, rest. I think Endgame!Steve is grieving and exhausted and hurting because once again, he feels left behind and alone and unmoored in a world that has moved on without him, and so when he gets a chance to finally get that happy ending....he takes it. And I can't fault him for that, given his circumstances, even though I'm incredibly frustrated by the narrative execution of that decision and would have much rather have seen him finally move on and become a sort of backseat mentor to the next round of Avengers.
And I cleared up my issues with the timeline via director’s commentary, so he’s not taking the place of another man in Peggy’s life and he can technically do whatever he wants in that life (since that life happened in an alternate reality/split-off universe). So it’s literally just that he gets a happy ending and a fulfilling life with the woman he loves and gets another chance to help the other people in his life that he loves. And goddamn does Steven Grant Rogers deserve every shred of happiness and contentment he can get after how awful and stressful and tiring his life has been up to this point.
But lol yeah the Russos can choke for what they did to Natasha. That was just ugly and unnecessary. It should have been Clint, and I'll die on that hill.

veronicafercard asked:
Hi, I'm looking for a fic by I only vaguelly remember some details, wonder if you guys could help me. I remember that before the serum Steve was colorblind and his favorite painting was a vase of red flowers and after he got the serum he got emotional seeing the red in the painting and I think he later compares the color to the color of Bucky's lips. I think the painting was called something like "ornelas" or "orleans". Thanks!

I'm looking for a fic that I worry was deleted where it's like a decade after canon and Bucky breaks up with Steve because he realizes they haven't been aging. Bucky feels like he should give Steve an out because when they first got together and made promises to each other, they didn't know they'd be immortal. Steve thinks Bucky has fallen out of love with him. It wasn't a super long fic. I remember Steve goes to brood in the gym and seeing Bucky as his phone screen snaps him out of it.

Hello there I've been looking for this fic forever. Bucky thinks sex with Steve is a bartering system to get his basic wants eg going out to a cafe. Steve doesn't realize it until the end of the fic and is horrified by the dubcon implications. Would really appreciate any help I can get. Thank you!

Hi I’m looking for a fic but I don’t remember a lot of what happened. I remember that Steve and Bucky went to go see one of Bucky’s sisters that was still alive and he met her husband too. I also remember that Bucky was scared to see her. I think that Bucky had some memory loss. Sorry if this isn’t enough! Thank you!!

Hi! Thanks for all you do!! I’m looking for a fic where Bucky is part of the mob I think and Natasha is in it with him. Steve is a prostitute and he starts staying with Bucky until they realize that they both like each other and Steve leaves. But Natasha helps him come back and I think Steve is an artist as well. I remember that at the end of the fic they adopt a baby they found on the straight and live together in a house. Thank you!!
