#also I love the message he leaves Sasaki
Text
Tumblr media
It's so funny to me that the fandom has come to see Hirano as a Sasamiya promoter of sorts because while he is, it took him some time to get accustomed to the idea of them together. And while he was never a hater Sasaki's actions towards Miyano certainly used to get on his nerves.
Tumblr media
At first he was so worried and probably even felt a little guilty because (as mentioned in the following screenshot) because the only reason why Sasaki knows which class Miya is in, is thanks to him.
Tumblr media
But like, that's not the face of a friend that's happy to play cupid and get their two acquaintances together. Not at all, that's the face of someone who puts his sempai-kouhai relationship with Miyano over his (pseudo) friendship with Sasaki.
Hirano from the first chapters would have jailed Sasaki if he were allowed to. (And he has his reasons, Sasaki has been something since the first chapters)
Tumblr media
Anyway, the progression of events is really interesting.
He started, quite literally, shielding Miyano from Sasaki.
Then, he came to accept their relationship.
Tumblr media
And at the end he really was rooting for them, to the point he ended up outright lying just so Miyano could meet Sasaki and they could talk it out and confess.

Akira is Chad’s pick and it completely blew his mind as he watched it for the first time with his mouth hanging open. It’s not just the animation that still captures his attention. It’s also the excellent stories and characters, the relationships, and how it leaned into body horror during the confrontation between Kaneda and Tetsuo. There is so much going on that it’s a treat to sit down and watch it. Akira keeps getting better every time he experiences it.
Crystal also loves the characters and their relationships depicted in the oppressed society of Akira. Those psychic kids messed her up and the animation is great, but it’s really the story that makes it special. Bill prefers watching Akira in the original Japanese language with English subtitles, adding that this beautiful and influential film is an unrelenting and brutal bloodbath of a film in which no character is safe. Akira is the first anime Jeff’s seen with the exception of the original Astro Boy TV series (1963-1965) and he, too, is blown away. There seemed to be no top end as the story, color, and animation just kept ramping up. He’s so glad Chad chose this film.
In general, the 80s Grue Crew prefers the version with Japanese language and English subtitles, but it is difficult to take in the visual feast while reading subtitles. At the time of this writing, Akira is available to stream from Hulu, Funimation, and Tubi, and on physical media as a Blu-ray disc or 4K UHD from Funimation.
Every two weeks, Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1980s podcast will cover another horror film from the 1980s. The next episode’s film, chosen by Jeff, will be David Cronenberg’s Scanners (1981). You know… the one with the scene?

Tumblr media
Walking around in the middle of the night just the slightest bit tipsy wasn’t the smartest thing you’ve done in your whole college career, but you could safely say it wasn’t the dumbest— Not that it was something you should be proud of.
You and your roommates had just gotten home from a party and, for some odd reason, you had the sudden urge to see one of your best friends, Iwaizumi Hajime, right at that very moment. He had been studying for midterms all week and you weren’t able to hang out with each other like you normally did, causing a Iwaizumi-shaped void that you wanted to fill. (In a strictly platonic way, of course.)
And when you were half-sleep deprived, half-inebriated, it wasn’t uncommon for you to be rather...impulsive. From ordering too much takeout from any “open 24-hour” restaurant within a five mile radius, to uploading a video of you trying to come up with the perfect pasta recipe, you’ve done a handful of bizarre things during the ungodly hours of the night. But even you weren’t sure what was going on through your mind that convinced you sneaking out of your apartment and heading to Iwaizumi’s nearby was the best course of action while still slightly intoxicated.
The clock on your phone read that it was only a quarter ‘til three and you quickly shrugged on a jacket and sent Iwaizumi a sloppy “i’m omw iwaaaachann” text before stepping foot outside your door, making sure to shut it silently as to not awaken your roommates who had just fallen asleep.
As you made your way through your apartment complex, the thought briefly crossed your mind that Iwaizumi might be sleeping at the moment, especially since he had just finished his midterm exams, but you shrugged it off. You would cross that hurdle when you got there.
And so, when you finally—through some miracle from above—arrived at Iwaizumi’s in one piece, you weren’t sure what else to do other then stare at his half cracked open window. Since he lived on the second floor, it wasn't uncommon for him to leave a window open for air to come through during the hot seasons.
“Iwaizumi!” you yelled in a quiet whisper, hoping the wind would carry your words into his apartment for you.
When you received no reply, you pulled our your phone and began to message him. Although Iwaizumi liked to pretend he was an unsentimental guy who didn’t have time to deal with others’ bullshit, it was obvious that was false. He cared a lot about everyone, especially his friends. Maybe even too much. And one of the ways he showed he secretly cared was always having his phone on full ringer in case anyone needed help in the middle of the night— Something that was surprisingly quite common when you were friends with the chaos that was Oikawa.
Would it be mean to use that knowledge to your own advantage and spam Iwaizumi until he replied?
Maybe.
But in your defense, you were practically having an emergency only he could help with. You desperately needed your Iwaizumi fix after not having seen him in over a week and there was no one better to help you that problem than Iwaizumi himself.
Besides, texting him until he wakes up would be better than Romeo-and-Julieting this and climbing in through his window. Trying to scale a building while tipsy was too idiotic, even for you.
Y/N: are u awakeee?
Y/N: wakey wakey
Y/N: i miss u :(
Y/N: i’m outside ur window wink wonk
Y/N: iwaaa >.>
There was a cacophonous sound of loud text chimes ringing one after the other followed by a deep grunt and stretching sound. You pictured Iwaizumi blearily getting out of bed and checking his phone that he kept across the room (to minimize at-night screen time, he claimed) with a heavy-lidded look on his face.
After a few seconds of unidentifiable shuffles, you heard a strangled cry of, “What the—?!” before you saw the shadow of his head through the window screen.
“Y/N?” he asked incredulously, voice still rough and scratchy from having just been awakened.
You waved, beaming wildly. “Iwaizumi!”
There was a deep sigh as he cracked the glass open even wider. “It’s three in the morning— Why are you outside my window?” He peered down at you almost stumbling on the spot. “And are you drunk?”
“Barely,” you assured, though you still felt a slight buzz in your fingertips. “I missed you so I came here.”
“I— What? I mean— Huh?” he demanded, visible confusion in his tone. He rubbed his forehead before correcting himself. “I mean I miss you too. But it’s three in the morning! You couldn’t wait to miss me in a few hours instead?”
You didn’t know whether to pout because he didn’t grow some Rapunzel hair and let you climb it up to the window and fall into his open arms like you’d imagined, or cheer because he said he missed you too. Blissfully, you chose the latter. “You miss me?”
“Is that really all you heard?” said Iwaizumi with a snort before shaking his head in defeat. “Come up here. I’ll unlock the door for you.”
Your face lit up instantly as you nodded, bounding up the stairs of his apartment building and meeting with him face-to-face at his doorstep.
He had his arms folded over his chest as he waited for you at the entrance and, though he had tired circles under his eyes and still seemed half-asleep, was looking as attractive as ever. Not even the white polka dots on his pajama shorts could talk away from that fact. If anything, it made him all the more adorable.
“Iwa-chan!” you greeted excitedly, but still careful as to make sure you weren’t loud enough to wake up his roommate. You opened your arms out and he begrudgingly accepted your embrace. (Well, he tried to seem begrudging at least. But you saw his hidden smile as you nestled your chin on his shoulder.) “I missed you.”
“You said that already, dumbass,” he said with a tsk. He patted the top of your head before pulling away from your hug promptly. “You’re cold. Have you been standing outside for long?”
Pursing your lips, you looked up at him in confusion. “I don’t feel cold.”
“Because you’re too drunk to register it, probably.” With his warm hand on the small of your back, Iwaizumi ushered you inside and shut the door behind you. “Let’s go to my room so we don’t wake up my roommate, yeah?”
“‘Kay.”
Having visited his place so many times before, you knew it like it was your own apartment— Disregard the fact that your apartments had almost the same exact layout since you lived in the same complex. After sliding off your shoes at the entrance, you led the way to his room with Iwaizumi following closely behind you.
“Did you go to a party tonight?” he asked, eyes trailing down your body that was clad in an oversized t-shirt and fuzzy socks. Iwaizumi took a seat on his bed and patted the spot next to him for you to join.
Laughing at his puzzled expression, you nodded. “Yeah, but I went to my place to change and get ready for bed,” you explained. “Tried sleeping but I missed you too much and wanted to see your face.”
You climbed onto the mattress with him and wiggled around until you found a comfy spot. The comfy spot happened to be side-by-side with Iwazumi, your back against the wall and cold thigh pressed against his warm one. You rested your head on his shoulder and he lazily drew circles onto your knee with the pad of his thumb.
Intimacy like this wasn’t an uncommon occurrence for the two of you— That’s just how things were. He was warm and comfy and good at cuddling, and you liked that.
It could maybe be considered just normal friendship things you two did with everyone if it weren’t for the fact that Iwaizumi wasn’t typically comfortable with physical touch from anyone other than you. And maybe if you also ignored that you weren’t too keen on the thought of him one day being this close to anyone else. If truth be told, you didn’t like the thought of that at all.
With a small huff, you hooked your left arm with Iwaizumi’s right, hugging his bicep to you in an almost clingy manner.
“You good?” he asked, lightly chuckling as he looked down at you gripping onto his side. “Or something troubling you?”
You hummed unsure how to answer. There wasn’t enough alcohol in your system for you to completely spill your guts with know remorse, though being tipsy did greatly increase your likelihood of being loose-lipped. “I’m just thinking about someone else being with you like this.”
Iwaizumi stiffened, shoulders tensing ever so slightly before he quickly relaxed his muscles again. He prompted gruffly, throat so tight it came out as a murmur, “And?”
“I don’t like it.”
He let out a sharp chuckle. “I see.”
Out of the corner of your eye you saw a smile on his face and you continued on. “You’ve been studying a lot with Sasaki-san lately.”
“Hmm. Have I?”
You nodded. “You have your biomechanics class with her, right?”
“Yeah. I guess we studied for the exam together for a few nights.”
There was a funny feeling in your stomach at the thought of him spending his nights studying with someone that then spiraled to you picturing them being compatible and falling in love and spending the rest of their lives together. You winced, trying to shake it off. You were one of his best friends; it’s not like you had the right to feel that way.
“She’s really pretty,” you said, hoping it would prompt him to talk more about her. Even if you had no right, you still wanted to know—
By now, the laughter Iwaizumi was struggling to hold in bubbled out of his mouth, cutting you off mid-thought. His shoulders bounced up and down and you reluctantly sat up from your position resting on top of him to give him a look of confusion.
“Why are you laughing at me?” you pouted. Your eyebrows were furrowed and the corners of your lips were quirked down, cheeks slightly puffed.
He nudged your side gently with his elbow. You nudged him back, but moved away before he could retaliate and start a nudge war. “Because you sound jealous and it’s funny.”
“I didn’t say I was jealous.”
“I didn’t say you said that.”
“I’m not jealous,” you corrected.
“Now that’s debatable.”
Your cheeks flooded with heat, grabbing a pillow off the head of Iwaizumi’s bed to hide the embarrassed look on your face, seconds away from throwing it at him if he started to laugh any louder. You huffed. You were not jealous. There was no way. You just didn’t like imagining one of your best friends with another person doing coupley things that you only wanted him to do with you. But that definitely wasn’t jealousy.
(Okay, fine. You were jealous. But you couldn’t admit that to Iwaizumi.)
“That’s just your lack of sleep talking,” you sulked, lying down on his bed with a pillow still over your face. “Go to sleep now.”
“I was asleep. Until someone showed up at my window unannounced and woke me up.”
“They sound annoying.”
He barked out a laughter and you felt the weight on the bed shift. The compressed springs near your feet where Iwaizumi sat released its tension before you felt a dip beside you. You held your breath, the warmth from Iwaizumi’s body radiating onto yours.
While sleeping in the same bed together wasn’t as common as just cuddling, it wasn’t something that was exactly rare. There were times when you came over to watch movies or a television series with him until you both passed out on his bed. And other times when he was feeling stressed or you were feeling sad and neither of you wanted to sleep alone. You knew if you called, he would invite you in. And it was the same if he came to you.
But that didn’t make your heart beat any less rapidly as you waited in anticipation for Iwaizumi to get under the sheets with you. No matter how many times you fell asleep together, that didn’t stop the rush of nerves and tense air of awkwardness from flooding the room. However, it took just one touch to break the ice and before you knew it, you were snuggling up next to him in complete contentment.
“They’re not annoying,” he said firmly, large hand resting on the curve of your hip. “Actually, I’m glad they showed up even though it was three in the morning and I was running on two hours of sleep from the previous day.” You winced at his words, the alcohol gone from your system by now and you realized the insensitivity of your actions. Still, your stomach fluttered when he said he was glad to see you. “Because I missed them too.”
You blinked slowly. “You’re talking about me right?”
Through the moonlight from the window, you saw him roll his eyes with a grin. “Is there anyone else you think I’d let into my bed at this hour?”
“Oikawa.”
He considered it. “Well, maybe. But it wouldn’t so much be me letting him than him weaseling his way in.”
You nodded solemnly, as if it made perfect sense. Because it did. “Fair enough. He’s the only other person I’d let into my bed like this too,” you admitted, earning a laugh out of the both of you. “Well, besides Oikawa then, there’s no one else you’d sleep with like this?”
“There hasn’t been since we started college. I doubt there would be anyone to change that. Nor would I want anyone to.”
For the second time tonight, you felt heat rise to your cheeks and had the sudden urge to turn the other way and stare at the wall instead of Iwaizumi. But he held you tight by the waist so you couldn’t wiggle your way out of his grasp— Which did not, at all, help with the flaming face situation.
He only wanted you? There was a euphoric feeling in your chest when you realized he felt that way, and you felt the same.
“Someone’s bold tonight,” you managed to choke out, softly pressing your shaky fingers to the center of Iwaizumi’s chest. You felt the outlines of his toned pectorals beneath your palm and you had to remind yourself to keep on breathing.
“It’s from the lack of sleep. Sorry.” He didn’t sound apologetic. In fact, he seemed the opposite of apologetic when he brought you almost imperceptibly closer to him. If you weren’t so aware of the spatial distance (or lack thereof) between the two of you, there was no way you would have noticed. But you did. And you didn’t mind it. “I don’t have my usual filter.”
“Maybe I like you like this,” you said without missing a beat. Your initial reaction was to be embarrassed about the words that just left your mouth, but when you saw his growing smile, you felt a rush of assurance coursing through you. “I always like you, I suppose.”
“Like me?” he prompted, almost teasingly. “In what way?”
You gulped. Was this Iwaizumi being flirty?
Sure, it wasn’t uncommon for him to compliment you and occasionally play around— But if you thought your heart would ever be ready for him to actually flirt, you certainly thought wrong. You weren’t ready at all.
“L-Lots of ways,” you stammered out. “But in particular, the ‘I think you’re cute and I maybe want to date you’ way.”
“Funny.” His voice was a low whisper that rasped in your ear. “I think I like you in that way too.”
“You think?”
“I know.”
“Huh. Well, if we both like each other in that way…maybe we should…” you trailed off, feelings of timidness suddenly overcoming you. “You know…”
“Date?” he supplied with a knowing grin. You nodded bashfully. “Tomorrow.” There was an air of promise and sincerity in his tone. “Let’s get some sleep and then when we wake up we can go on our first date.”
Tranquility spread through your veins as you let out a happy sigh, your muscles growing lax at your calmed state. Although your heart was beating out of your chest at the prospect of actually dating Iwaizumi, his comforting embrace was enough to lull you into sleep. Your senses were flooded with him—his touch, his smell, the quiet sound of his steady breathing—and you realized there was no other place you’d rather be.
“Are you sure you won’t be too tired from exams?” you said before sleep overtook the both of you. “And from me waking you up in the middle of the night? Which…sorry for that again, by the way.”
“Don’t apologize. It was worth it,” he mumbled, lips brushing against your forehead as your eyelids fluttered shut. “I’ll always be here when you need me. Even if it’s at three in the morning.”

Chapter 160: How much of Yuji’s life has been orchestrated? + Megumi the stage-five clinger
Happy JJK-Sunday!
If I had to describe chapter 160 with as few words as possible, I would say: Oh f*ck...
My favorite moment was, of course, Megumi acting like a stage-five clinger. His interaction with Yuji in this chapter is especially ominous in light of Yuji being adamant of protecting Megumi from Sukuna.
A second favorite was Sasaki showing up in this chapter because of the implications moving forward.
Let’s jump right in.
How much of Yuji’s life has been orchestrated by Kenjaku?
We start the chapter with Kenjaku talking to none other than Sasaki, one of the members of the Occult Club at the high school in Sendai that Yuji used to attend.
Of course, the bomb that Gege dropped on us in this chapter is when Kenjaku thanks Sasaki “for getting along with my son”.
Tumblr media
Like... excuse you?
Not only does this 100% confirm that Kenjaku used Yuji’s mother’s body to give birth to him, but this specific moment + some foreshadowing from previous chapters also opens an interesting can of worms about Yuji’s life: just how much of Yuji’s life has Kenjaku orchestrated?
For me, the implication is that Sasaki had an assigned role to play in Yuji’s life that would inevitably lead to him eating Sukuna’s finger.
I am assuming this because although we don’t see Kenjaku’s interactions with the other people in Sendai, we get to see that, in addition for thanking her for getting along with Yuji, Kenjaku is incredibly kind to Sasaki. We also learn that she’s the only one who has received a special message from him (thanking her).
Ready to make this whole interaction more ominous? Someone pointed out that the kanji in Sasaki’s name means assistant.
All of this brings us right back to Yuji’s free will--or lack thereof?
We already know that Kenjaku claims he made Yuji “ingest” Sukuna’s finger and that Megumi is rightfully concerned with this idea because he witnessed Yuji eat Sukuna’s finger “of his own free will.”
Tumblr media
It’s also becoming increasingly obvious that Yuji was "created” solely for the purpose of becoming Sukuna’s vessel.
What this new reveal about Sasaki does is that it makes everything feel like certain events have been part of Kenjaku’s master plan all along. While this still feels a little farfetched, it will come down to how Gege works this idea into the story moving forward.
Come to think of it, even Yuji’s grandfather’s dying words to Yuji take on a new meaning since we know Wasuke knew something was definitively up with Yuji’s mother.
Another possible bit of foreshadowing all the way in chapter 1: While the intersection in the second panel below could be ANY intersection in Japan, it sure looks like the Shibuya crossing:
Tumblr media
A quick note on the importance of kanji meanings in JJK before moving onto the next section: knowing the meaning of Sasaki’s name tells us that names are important in JJK. If you haven’t, I recommend you read my break down on the meaning of Megumi’s FULL NAME. His first name is important, but so is his last name.
The plans moving forward
Going off to Tokyo Colony #2 are Panda and Hakari.
As the strongest, Hakari feels like he should take on Hajime. As for Panda, it looks like his focus will be on hunting down Angel.
Tumblr media
Side note: I love that Hakari is still calling Megumi names. Guess Senpai can’t help himself.
I must admit I was disappointed to find that Kirara will stay behind to report, but it is what it is. I am assuming Gege could see no use for Kirara and decided to leave the character out of the action for the time being.
As for Megumi and Yuji, they’ll be heading to Tokyo Colony #1 to target Higuruma, everybody’s new favorite Law & Order boss.
This brings us to Megumi’s current state of mind...
Megumi the stage-five clinger
I had a hard time coming up with the title for this section because what I see happening is that Megumi is starting to feel the pressure of the looming deadline for Tsumiki joining the Culling Game. What his behavior shows, however, is that he needs Yuji with him and is clinging onto him but won’t come out and say it--opting instead for aggression towards Yuji, the very same person he needs most.
His behavior reminded me of how Megumi could be mean to Tsumiki even though he clearly adores her. Apparently that’s the meaning of being tsundere. I’ve read about the term tsundere before but it never “clicked” until this moment and I just love Gege’s interpretation of the trope through Megumi’s character.
Tumblr media
It goes without saying that it was REALLY interesting to me to see Megumi’s dynamic and interaction with Yuji in this chapter because it looks like Gege is letting us know Megumi’s state of mind continues to be one of desperation--remember that dogeza bow from chapter 157?
The thing about Megumi is that he looks stoic on the outside, but he’s actually an incredibly emotional person who doesn’t often show how he’s feeling.
I hadn’t caught on, but in chatting with @justafrenchlondoner about the chapter, they pointed out Megumi’s behavior in his dynamic with Yuji appears nervous and aggressive.
Tumblr media
Upon a second look I have to agree that Megumi is acting out of character and aggressive with Yuji when all that Yuji really wants is to protect Megumi from Sukuna.
And yes, let me go ahead and sound like a broken record as I remind you of Yuji’s rather ominous words from chapter 143 yet again:
Tumblr media
And this is the part of the chapter that knocked the air out of me: Megumi telling Yuji to stfu about Sukuna but Yuji thinking to himself “as long as I’m around you will suffer” back in ch143 is so damn ominous.
Oh f*ck...
But this is what REALLY gets me about this whole interaction and why I’m calling Megumi a stage-five clinger...
Tumblr media
Even though Megumi is calling Yuji selfish, in reality, the one being selfish is Megumi.
This is, of course, my own interpretation of the situation, but to me it feels as though Megumi is clinging onto Yuji’s strength for dear life.
It’s almost like Megumi needs not just Yuji’s physical strength, but also his unwavering conviction or mental strength.
If you think about it, Megumi has only recently started fighting to win. Remember how unsure he was of himself when fighting Sukuna for the first time? It wasn’t until he went up against the Cursed Spirit from the Yasohachi bridge that he let go of his inhibitions.
Megumi’s battles during Shibuya were the pinnacle of his growth as a character in that moment. If I remember correctly, according to the timeline of events, the Shibuya incident happened around two weeks prior to the current chapter. You could say that although he is more comfortable in his strength than before, Megumi is still growing into his strength at this point.
The thing about Megumi is that everybody and their Divine Dog believes in him and sees his potential except for him. As Gojo tells him “you undervalue yourself.”
Looking back, the way Megumi asks begs Yuji for help in chapter 143 is very enlightening of how Megumi needs Yuji’s strength:
Tumblr media
I initially had read this to mean Megumi needed Yuji’s physical strength. Upon second look, however, Megumi has always seemed to have admiration for Yuji’s conviction.
With the looming deadline for Tsumiki’s vow to join the Culling Game, as Megumi starts to feel the pressure to make his plan work, who better to keep around than the person who will always go for the home run and whose strength he admires?
In other words, like hell he’s going to let Yuji leave his side. Which, again, only makes it more heartbreaking to think Sukuna is up to no good regarding Megumi and Yuji wants to protect him from that.
Oh f*ck.......
The panel below feels like a bit of a lighthearted and comical moment, but it’s also interesting to note that this is the second time they “fight”.
Tumblr media
The first “fight” having taken place during the Cursed Womb Arc.
Tumblr media
If you will remember, Gege used the Cursed Womb Arc and the Origin of Obedience Arc to show us how much our favorite trio had grown.
Not sure Gege is going to parallel something here again, but just interesting to note.
Oh f*ck...
Ya, please excuse the French.
Despite the many words I’ve shared here, this chapter left me mostly speechless.
I feel like I’ve been trapped in Gojo’s limitless domain expansion and all I can think is “oh f*ck” or “halloween” (if you catch my drift).
Chapter 160 was incredible because it looks like Gege has finally finished putting all his pieces into place and is ready to go for the kill by:
Starting to unravel the story bit by bit, giving us all of the twists we both saw and did not see coming, and
Ramping up the stakes. Taking into consideration the estimates that JJK is somewhere around 60-70% done at this point, It’s not a matter of whether some of our beloved characters will die, but about who, when and how they will die
Tumblr media
One last detail
I love the last four panels of the chapter showing Panda, Hakari, Yuji and Megumi all wearing their uniforms (barring Panda) and getting ready to become official participants of the Culling Game by entering their respective barriers.
Knowing that Gege is a very talented artist capable of showing and expressing emotions through his art, I feel like these panels tell us a lot about what the characters might be thinking and I thought I’d expand on that.
Bear in mind this is my personal interpretation as an artist:
Panda looks excited and ready to fight, perhaps even confident. Panda is saying “bring it!” with his body language
There’s a hint of something I can’t describe in Hakari’s face. It’s almost like he’s coming face to face against how big of a challenge this is going to be and yet he’s resolved to walk straight into “the depths of hell itself”
Yuji looks focused, determined to go in and give it his best no matter what comes his way--that’s just who he is
And then there’s Megumi. I’ve been drawing Megumi recently, and one thing I noticed is that he has very specific micro-expressions. In his panel, he’s warming up his wrists as though he’s getting ready to fight, he has a focused look on his face, but the shadows around his eyes say he might be feeling like he is carrying the heavy burden of the uncertainty surrounding the situation he’s going through
With all that being said... the Culling Game is officially starting and we’re in for a one-way ride straight to hell.
Thank you for reading and happy JJK-Sunday!
What about you? What did you enjoy most about chapter 160?

The fog is dense in the south countryside of Japan. The harsh breeze from sea flows through the small village at the edge of town. Deku stares out at sea as he recalls the last conversation he had with Dabi before his death.
After a long day of recruiting members to their rebellion against King Sasaki, Deku and Dabi visit the local Izakayas (pub/tavern) to relax. Over gyoza and sake, Deku praises Dabi on a successful recruitment day. It was satisfying to see people come to the realization that Saski was unworthy of being King. They toast and drink multiple rounds of sake before Dabi placed a hand on Deku’s shoulder.
“You have potential, kid. Don’t let fools deter you from your path.” Dabi says, taking a gulp from his cup of sake.
Deku angrily chugs his sake and nods knowing exactly what he meant. If there’s one thing he knows about Dabi, it’s seeking revenge on those who’ve hurt you the most.
Memories sprint in his head of his younger self running for his life through the forest. Screams and the fire raging behind him motivated him to keep moving forward.
“Don’t look back. Keep going until you're safe--promise me Izuku.” his mothers words echo in repeat.
Before Deku has the chance to reflect more, his trance is broken when he spots soldiers approaching in the distance--Tomura. Deku swiftly tucks the painful memory back into its safebox but he doesn't lock it. There was an important message Dabi shared that night that he needs to think on.
Tomura has never been good news to Deku. Ever since he joined the rebellion Tomura always had something against him. Deku didn’t come from a rich family and was instead chosen by hand by Dabi. Deku wondered if that was the reason.
“Deku. Such a distasteful name.” Tomura says with self-satisfaction of his mocking. “Funny seeing you out here. Shouldn’t you be on your way to kill Bakugou?”
Deku bites his tongue knowing all too well that bickering with Tomura wasn’t a good choice.
“Don’t worry. I’m just here to do my job--kill you if you don’t kill Bakugou.” Tomura grins evilly.
Tomura tosses Deku a wrapped cloth before turning to leave.
“That should be enough for one try. I’ll be watching.”
Deku grips the wrapped cloth in his hand tighter. He’d expect his job to be tough but getting only one shot to kill Bakugou? Could he do it?
Deku fights the thoughts in his head as he watches Tomura go out of sight. Deku has always watched Bakugou from afar since they were not on the same path. He wished he could’ve done more for Bakugou to show King Sasaki’s true colors before things had gotten so ugly.
Throwing his cloak over his shoulders, he walks to his horse, One.
“Ready, One.” Deku leans his forehead on One. One neighs in response and as the sun rises in the distance, Deku is off towards the north.
Passing through the towns, Deku only makes necessary stops to sleep or eat. Yueei was at least a day’s ride. Late afternoon, Deku finds himself walking One through a village, passing through the market. Night was falling soon and stalls were beginning to close. Passing a stall that sold fruits, Deku stops in front of the woven basket that had fresh apples--50 yen, the sign says.
“Would you like one, son?” An old woman speaks to him from behind the stall. “I’m closing shop and it’d be a shame for those to go to waste.”
Deku smiles and takes an apple in hand. Before the old women could protest, he left 1,000 yen behind.
“Young man, your change!” The old woman yells from her stall. Deku continued forward with One, taking a bite into his apple. Apple has always been his favorite as a kid. Memories of him and Bakugou as kids walking between trees to pick apples with their mothers causes Deku to frown.
Bakugou.

In the late night, a shadow cautiously roams Yueei palace, making their way through the empty clearings and corridors, escaping the eyes of the palace guards. The figure slowly approached a room and crouched by the sliding door. They slid a white paper through the crack and waited. After a few seconds, a gold paper slides through and the figure quickly hides in their kimono.
“Don’t fail me.” a lady spoke in a low voice.
The shadow nods before vanishing into the night.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
“My lady!” You call from outside Ibara’s chambers. When she doesn’t respond a second time, you make your way inside only to find Ibara hunched over her kotatsu. She’s mumbling about something you can’t hear and when she lifts her head to look at you, the bag under her eyes tells you she’s been crying. Her eyes were puffy and nose was all red. Carefully navigating the conversation, you asked Ibara what happened and she explained.
She and Kirishima were supposed to meet for breakfast at their favorite spot in the palace but he never showed up. It wasn’t like him to not tell her if he couldn’t make it. Ibara waited over 2 hours and the food she cooked herself with Urakaka’s help went cold. What makes it worse is that it rained that morning and Ibara still waited. She continues to tell you Kirishima hasn't gone to see her or send her flowers/messages like he used to. Ibara was devastated. You nod in response to let her know you understood her.
“Y/N, can I ask you something?” Ibara looks at you with sadden eyes. “And please don’t lie to me.”
You take her hands in yours, hoping it will bring some resolve to her pain. Ibara lowers her gaze and nods, readying herself to ask you the question that was burning in her head since last night.
“Where were you the other day?”
You look at Ibara confused, unsure of what she meant.
“Y/N, please tell me where you were.” Ibara pulls your hands towards her lap and shuts her eyes. “Were you with Kirishima?”
“What?! Ibara, no!” You replied without hesitation and quickly shut down any ideas that would associate you with Kirishima. You’ve known since the beginning how much pressure Ibara put on herself to make things work with Kirishima. The truth was that Ibara’s time at the palace was going to be over soon. Her father had requested she go back home to help take care of their family estate. She only had a few months left and time with Kirishima was precious since he wasn’t going to be able to follow her. Knowing all this, the absolute last thing you want to do is jeopardize that for Ibara.
Thinking back to the day in question, you recall that was the morning you were at the wash house when you bumped into Bakugou---Ahhh, of course. You saw Bakugou that morning. That morning, you also knew Camie was looking for him and almost caught you both. She must’ve found out and lied to Ibara about who you were with. Not looking good, Y/N.
“Camie told me she saw you with him. She said you kissed him.” Ibara spoke again but this time in a low tone you barely heard it. Ibara turned away from you, hurt that you may have actually done what Camie told her. “She also said she saw you with him in his room.”
“Ibara, I would never do that to you. Please, believe me.” You reach for Ibara’s hands, desperate to make things right.
“So Camie is a liar? Is that what you’re saying?” Ibara swats your hands away before getting up towards the door. “I know Camie wouldn’t lie to me. How could you do this to me Y/N? You know how much I like Eijirou.”
Tears were now streaming down Ibara’s cheeks.
“I want you to leave. You can tell the housekeeper I don’t need you for a few days.” Ibara opens the sliding door and keeps her gaze low. “Please leave me alone.”
You know Ibara well, she’s made up her mind and nothing you say right now was going to work. Instead, you stand, take a bow and leave the room. Ibara closes the door behind you, leaving you standing there alone in the hallway listening to the soft cries from within her room. You pinch the space between your eyes to relieve the tension that was forming there.
Tumblr media
The sound of swords clashing and grunts echo throughout the palace training grounds. Soldiers in the dozens are gathered around, training with one another.
“Man, I’ve missed the musty smell of men! The epitome of manliness. Wouldn’t you say so Bakugou?” Kirishima crosses his arms as he and Bakugou enter the training grounds to observe all the men before them.
SWOOSH
An arrow flies a few centimeters away from Bakugou’s face and he quickly catches it. A non-threatening shot; Bakugou grinned at the audacity of his men. This caught the attention of the men in the training grounds. Gasps of Bakugou’s sharpness turned the roaring training ground into a sudden stillness.
“It’s good to see you haven’t lost your touch.” One of Bakugou’s men, Sero, approached.
“Of course, extra, you think I’d be beat easily with this damn arrow?” Bakugou says with a shit eating grin.
“It’s good to see you two. We’ve missed you out here.” says another one of his men, Kaminari, who was speaking in a teasing tone.
Bakugou tries to avoid these talks as much as possible but given the circumstances, he lets it slide. His men did save him and Kirishima. After merely saving Kirishima from the grasps of the enemies, Bakugou fainted himself. If it wasn’t for his soldiers bravery, they probably would’ve never made it home.
Bakugou was pumped to get training and waved his men to leave them alone. It’s been a long time since he’s been able to come out here. Kirishima waves the rest of the men goodbye, following Bakugou to an empty spot in the training grounds. The doctor recommended light work only. Their injuries may not be bleeding anymore but the skin still needs time to heal. The training of choice then? Sparring.
Both men remove their tops and wrap clothes around their hands and one on their head to move their hair out of the way. Kirishima grinned at Bakugou to cue that he was ready. Both men begin to throw jabs and punches at one another, trying to get a hit in. Bakugou would throw a punch, Kirishima would block. Kirishima would punch and Bakugou would counter. This went back and forth for about an hour before both men fell on the ground trying to catch their breaths.
Ever since they were kids, they’ve trained together to improve their combat skills. Their spar sessions have always been them giving each other 100%. Bakugou didn’t approve of half-ass training and Kirishima appreciated the toughness. It helped him improve his skills when he has an opponent who isn’t going easy on him for the hell of it. Bakugou may be better than him but Kirishima was not far behind.
“Man, who knew not training for a few weeks would make us so rusty.” Kirishima says in between each breath.
“Tch, who are you calling rusty.” Bakugou says nudging Kirishima in the arm.
“Ah--Careful Katsuki. Wound.” Kirishima chuckles at the fact that he felt pain from a tiny nudge. He hears Bakugou not quiet say ‘sorry’ but knew that was what his intention was when he said ‘whatever’.
“Kirishima?”
Kirishima quickly sits up at the sound of a voice he’s oh to familiar with. Camie enters the training ground, side eyeing the oogley eyes the soldiers were giving her. When Camie sees Kirishima was with Bakugou, her eyes lit up. Stalking over to the men, she smiled at Bakugou, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Bakugou. I’m so happy to see you’re well enough for training again. I’ve missed seeing you out here on my walk to the study room.” Camie speaks in the sweetest tone.
Kirishima clears his throat loudly to help Bakugou get out of the situation. “Camie, it’s good to see you too. Were you looking for me?”
“I heard Ibara wasn’t well this morning and wanted to tell you. Though, seeing Bakugou with you makes me extra happy.” Camie says as her eyes flirt with Bakugou despite no return of emotions from him.
“Why don’t you both join Ibara and I for lunch after training? It’s been awhile since we’ve all had lunch together. Let’s all get along.”
Kirishima looked at Bakugou and knew he didn’t like the sound of it. But he knew refusing Camie in front of the soldiers would also embarrass her and that’s very unmanly in his books. Kirishima would never allow anyone to be embarrassed around him.
“Sure, we can do that.”
Bakugou quickly nudged Kirishima and gave him a death stare.
Tumblr media
Half the day has gone by and Ibara was still upset at you since the morning. You’ve tried bringing her food, tried to clean her room, walk her to her studies but got rejected each time.
Camie has really done it this time in punishing you. Ibara told you she wouldn’t need you which meant one thing--yard work. Plucking the weeds from the flower garden, you dump it into a waste bucket.
“Great job, Y/N. You’ve gone and pissed Camie off.” You say angirlying pulling a weed. “You could be doing easy work in the kitchen with Urakaka and drinking leftover sake.”
Task after task, you do as told--pulling weeds from the garden, cleaning the ponds from debris, disposing yesterday’s scraps for soil for the garden. By the time late afternoon comes, you find your limbs are aching, your back is in pain, and the pad of your feet just wants to rest.
“L/N! Bring water from the well to the wash house.” the housekeeper yells from across the yard. You respond with a ‘Yes, Ma’am” and move quickly to go fetch the water. With two buckets of water in your hands, you move slowly to the wash house. Walking past the great hall you can hear chatter and laughter. You stop by the door for a quick break for your arms, peeking inside. Looks like the court ladies and lords are having lunch. Blonde hair quickly catches your eyes and a smile tugs at the sight of him.
Bakugou sat across from Kirishima and Ibara while Camie sat next to him. Ibara and Camie were laughing and Kirishima looked happy. Thank gods those two have made up, you thought before your smile disappeared. You caught Bakugou’s subtle smile which made your heart ache. He fit so well with people of noble status. With the reminder that your status is the reason you can’t be with Bakugou, you pick up the buckets and slowly walk away.
By late afternoon you’re exhausted. You hate that you’ll be repeating this again tomorrow. Grabbing a roll of sushi from the kitchen, you head for a quieter space--the unused keep has always been reliable for situations like this.
You exhale sharply as you lean your head against the tree. Your first bite of food for the day was satisfying. You quickly eat your food and gulp down water before basking under the shade. Closing your eyes, you listen to the crickets chirping in the distance, allowing yourself to relax. And before you know it you feel asleep.
In the midst of the chatter at his table, Bakugou caught a glimpse of you as you stopped by the door struggling with the pail of water. He chuckled at the sight before thinking of an excuse to leave to help you. When he looked at the door again, you were already gone.
“Ibara, it’s good to see you and Kirishima together.” Camie taunts, knowing full well about the lie she told yesterday. “You two are really the perfect pair.”
“You’re too kind, Camie. We don’t look as great as you and Bakugou.” Ibara giggles as the sake they’ve been drinking starts to settle in her body.
“Ibara, you don’t look so well. Should I call L/N to help take you to your room?” Kirishima holds Ibara by the waist as she becomes unbalanced in her seat.
“No!” Ibara protested eagerly. The last person she wants to see right now is the person trying to steal her man. “Won’t you take me, Eijirou?”
Kirishima turns red hearing Ibara call him by his first name in public. It’s not long before Kirishima is helping Ibara out of her seat. Bakugou and Camie waved them goodbye as they walked off down the corridor.
“Kat--”
“Don’t call me that.” Bakugou shuts down Camie’s attempt. He remembers the look in your eyes whenever Camie is mentioned and how you think she belongs to him or whatever. He needs to cut the weed before it causes more problems.
“But you call me by mine. Why can’t I do the same?”
“Its different. You’re a court lady. Look Camie, I don’t want to beat around the bush. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. But I’m sorry I can’t return your feelings.”
“Stop! I don’t want to hear it!” Camie breathes heavily, taking a step back from Bakugou. The sake was starting to set for her now too.
“The Utsushimi family deserves someone more worthy than me. There are lots of suitable lords here at Yueei.”
“But I want you!” Camie peers through her lashes with prickling eyes.
“Even if you push me away, I’ll keep trying!” Camie wipes away her tears before turning to walk away from Bakugou.
Bakugou pinches the space between his eyes as the frustration from dealing with women sets a growing headache for him. It’s not that Bakugou hates Camie. But rather he knows what the lifestyle of being with Camie meant and he was not up for that. Bakugou didn’t fancy the court life at Yueei. He didn’t want royalty or money. He wanted to do a damn good job at his duties before retiring to have a quiet peaceful life.
He needs to take a walk.
Bakugou mindlessly strolled through the palace, nodding to a few soldiers he passed, and enjoying the calmness of the late afternoon. His feet took him to the far end of the palace before he knew it. The unused keep he found you after the intruder incident suddenly becomes noticeable. He quietly walks to the keep entrance for the first time since then. Opening one side of the door, the sight of you sleeping against the tree caught him by surprise. He sees the two buckets you were struggling to hold earlier not far either. A big smile finds its place on his lips as he walks to you.
“Oi.” Bakugou bends down and pokes your shoulders. No response.
“Overworked yourself again hm?” Bakugou shakes his head. He takes a seat next to you, careful to not disturb you. Seconds later, your head starts to slip forward. Bakugou quickly stops your head with his palm and angles you to rest on his shoulder. In your sleep, you hummed and wiggle in approval.
Fuck, that was so cute. Bakugou covers his mouth to hide the red tint on his cheeks. He stayed as still as possible to support you.
“Baka.” You spoke in your sleep, drawing Bakugou’s attention. Bakugou raised an eyebrow, wondering who you were calling an idiot. “‘Suki, stay.”
Bakugou tense at his first name rolling off your lips for the first time.
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP
His heart pumps loudly with no ending. Tingly feelings bubble inside him, makes him want to smile all the damn time with you, heart always aching to see your beautiful face--this feeling inside him, it’s been the same since the first time he laid eyes on you. Bakugou doesn’t understand how and why you make him feel this way. All he knows is that he loves it.
Deep in his thoughts of you, Bakugou also dozed off.
The afternoon was soon fading into night. The keep remains calm with a slight breeze entering and existing. A leaf flows by and brushes your nose, tickling you awake. You straighten yourself as you yawn.Your arm suddenly brushes a shoulder drawing your attention to the man sleeping next to you. Bakugou begins to stir as well and before you know it you both are looking at one another.
“Bakugou. What are you doing here?” Flustered, you hide behind your sleeves.
Bakugou clears his throat and turns away from you. He doesn’t want you to see his rosey cheeks. “Was just checking on you.”
How thoughtful he was. Before you can appreciate his thoughtfulness, your brain betrays you be replaying the hurtful scene you saw earlier that day of Bakugou with Camie.
“Stop overworking yourself.” Bakugou flicks your forehead.
“Ow!” You pout covering your forehead. All the worries you had suddenly flew out the door.
“I don’t ask for my assignments okay. It’s just my luck today that Ibara is also upset at me so there’s nothing I can do.”
“Besides, I’m a maid so I do as I’m told.” You lower your head in defeat, fingers curled on your apron.
“Doesn’t give them the right to bully you.” Bakugou countered.
“I wish it was that easy.” You scoffed standing up.
“Who do I need to beat up?”
“I’d like to keep my job so no thank you.” You chuckled, turning to meet his towering figure.
“Well they have you sleeping out here in the open by yourself. What if something happens?” He inched closer to you.
“But nothing happened because you were here.” You smiled big to him.
You really knew when to be cute to him. Bakugou softened his eyes and smiled back.
“Look, in a few days all the lord's will be here.” Bakugou starts but you know where this was going.
“I won’t get in any trouble, promise.” You say bringing your pinky to him. Bakugou brings his pinky to yours to complete the promise.
“Hey love birds.” Kirishima calls from the keep’s entrance. You both turn to see Kirishima dressed in his best Kimono. “His Majesty calls.”
“Gotta go.” Bakugou spoke softly before letting go to meet Kirishima. You watch them before turning to quietly squealing about the fact that you and Bakugou took a nap together.
On your walk back to your quarters, you passed the kitchen and inside was Urakaka cleaning up for the day.
“Any sake tonight?” You peaked through the door and waved. With the way Kirishima was dressed, you figured Lords were gathering which means the big guns were being served tonight.
“If we get lucky.” Urkaka says as she winked at you. “Thankfully I don’t have to cook the meals tonight, only cleaning. So if there are any leftovers you bet we’re drinking them. For now, we only have tea.”
Urakaka pats the seat next to her at the table for you.
“I heard things aren’t well with Ibara today.” Urakaka says as she pours you a cup of tea. You wrinkle your brows trying to figure out how she knows.
“The maids have been talking.” Urakaka takes another sip as you nod in defeat and sip your tea. “Y/N, you know I don’t like butting into your business, but as your friend I feel obligated to say this.”
Urakaka explains that the maids are gossiping at the palace about seeing you and Bakugou together and rumour has it that you’re trying to get Camie jealous. Camie has also been vocal with the maids sprouting lies to them that you were a devious person and for people to be wary of befriending you. Camie even lied that Bakugou loves her and that you were stealing him from her. Maids you’ve known before Camie came to the palace, who you were on good terms with, also started to believe the lies.
“What bullshit!” You exclaim in anger. “I am not stealing Bakugou from her.”
Urakaka motions you to calm down and to lower your voice.
“Y/N, I know that but others don’t. The reason I’m telling you all this is because I worry for your well-being at the palace. Rumours like these never end well. Don’t you remember what happened last time with the maid that tried to go against the court ladies? She was found dead at the outskirts of town.”
Urakaka was right. The power court ladies have were truly terrifying. At any given moment you can be disposed of and replaced at Yueei. Thankfully King Sasaki has been kind to his people and ensures all maids who are to be fired or replaced are to be discussed with him first. King Sasaki was much tougher than King Yagi but nonetheless just as righteous. He always did right by his people.
“Just promise me you’ll be careful?” Urakaka takes your hand in hers. You nod in agreement and give her a gentle squeeze.
“Urakaka!” The housekeep calls from outside.
“Y/N! Good thing you're here!” The housekeeper enters the kitchen. “Make more tea and help serve it.”
Urakaka quickly helps you boil some tea and you’re soon on your way to help serve the guests. Making your way past the other maids who were walking back, you can’t help but notice the stares from each of them before the whispers began.
Making your last corner to the hall, a fellow maid purposefully bumps into you, causing you to drop the teapot and burning yourself in the process. You yelp in shock. The maid who bumped into you made no apology. Instead, she looked at you with disgust and turned to walk away.
Urakaka was right about the maids. With no time to waste dwelling in your sadness, you pick up your shattered teapot, wipe what you could with your apron before making your way back to the kitchen to get more tea.
Urakaka runs to check on you when she sees your kimono had tea stains and hands were red. You say reassure her you were fine and ask for a new batch of tea. Urakaka nods and turns to busy herself with a new tea batch.
Hold yourself together, you say to yourself, wiping a fallen tear. You throw the wet apron into a bin nearby before grabbing a new apron to put on. The new apron hides just enough of the tea stains on your kimono, making you still presentable. This time, Urakaka comes along to make sure you’re okay. Getting to the great hall, you pause with Urakaka beside you.
“Are you going to be okay?” She asks and you nod in response. You know Bakugou would be here and that would at least help calm you down.
Tumblr media
“Why do we have to wear this?” Bakugou groans when Kirishima brings in a flashy orange kimono with a black dragon engraved in the back.
“We need to look our best tonight. Lord Sorahiko Torino is coming to visit to pay respect to the late King Yagi.” Kirishima helps Bakugou dress since they were already running late. Kirishima had got dressed as fast as he could first and thankfully found Bakugou in the nick of time.
“Hurry.” Kirishima pulls Bakugou into the corridors and towards the grand hall where a small gathering of lords and samurai had congregated. Entering the room, they both bowed as onlookers stared.
“It’s a great honor to meet you Samurai.” Lord Torino bows as Bakugou and Kirishima approaches.
“The honor is ours, my lord.” Bakugou returns the bow, Kirishima follows suit.
King Sasaki motions the group gathered to take a seat at the table as maids began to serve tea. King Sasaki and Lord Torino begin to talk business while the Samurai’s chat aside on their own. Kirishima begins serving the samurai’s sake as they talk.
Bakugou watches you enter with other maids and frowns at the sight of your condition. He didn’t remember seeing your Kimono stained nor your hand red. He remembers you telling him earlier you’ve been overworked by the housekeeper.
“Isn’t that right Bakugou?” Kirishima says as he nudged Bakugou to get his attention. One of Torino’s samurai asked about his victory at Wakayama and Kirishima was more than happy to explain in detail how the battle went down.
Bakugou nods, gulping down his sake, eyes still glued to you as you make your rounds to him. When you get to him, you smile and pour him a cup of tea. Orange suits him well. You thought to yourself when your eyes met him. Before your hand gets too far, Bakugou gently holds your wrist to stop you from leaving.
“What happened to your hand?”
You contemplate whether to tell him the truth. What would he do if he found out you were getting bullied by the other maids because of Camie's dislike of your relationship with him?
“I accidentally spilt tea. Nothing serious.” You lie, quickly pulling away before onlookers notice. You try to walk away but is again stopped when he holds you by your apron.
“Meet me outside in an hour.”
You nod at his requests and make your way to serve tea to the rest of the group. Existing the hall, you see Urakaka talking to the housekeeper.
“Ah, there she is.” Urakaka smiles seeing you returned. “Isn’t that right, Y/N? You said you’ll help me make gyoza tomorrow?”
You hesitate for a second not knowing where she was going with this but nod. Housekeeper agreed to have you help Urakaka tomorrow but insisted she can only let you for a day since the palace needed tending to.
“Thank you for saving me.” You agonized over the task with Urakaka who only chuckles at your pain.
“I’m happy I’m stuck with kitchen duties. You know, I used to be jealous that you were a court maid.” Urkaka loops her arms in yours as you both make your way back to the kitchen. “But then I hear about your yard duties and boy would I rather wash dishes than pluck weed.” She laughed as she teased you.
You playfully nudge her in annoyance but grateful to have a friend at the palace.
“Thank you, Ochako. You’re always saving me when I need it most.” You say, squeezing her arm tighter.
Night soon fell and you were done for the day. Waving Urakaka goodbye, you decide to head to the only spot you knew Bakugou would go to meet you. Though he didn't say it, you knew what he meant when he said ‘outside’.
Opening the keep doors, you make your way in and sit down by the tree to wait. Pulling your knees towards you, you hug them in anticipation.
A creak from the front doors draws your attention and a figure enters.

I've been into Nighteye lately. Any dating hc for our dear tall all might obsessed man?
I will do my best! I haven’t watched the anime, but I’ve read the manga so! Hopefully my memory is good bc I want to do this man justice
Requests and headcanons are open!
Sir Nighteye|Sasaki Mirai
-Where to begin, where to begin. Okay so, I think it would be cute if you guys actually meet a few times before paying each other any mind. Like, you run into him once, and suddenly you’re seeing him everywhere.
-And it’s not just seeing him places, but interacting! Like somehow you always end up bumping into him, or tripping in front of him, or accidentally whacking him with a door. Each time you meet, you cringe more and more, because you’ve never been more accident prone than when he’s around.
-Until one day you manage to not embarrass yourself in front of him, and instead calmly sit on a bench beside him while you wait for your respective rides. He doesn’t say anything, barely even acknowledges you as he taps at his phone, while you fidget happily beside him with wandering thoughts.
-Your quiet laugh draws his attention, and he watches you out of the corner of his eyes as you try to stifle it. The first thought in his head is that you have a cute laugh, and the second thought is to wonder why you’re laughing in the first place.
-You glance at him and catch his eye, and your face immediately heats up. You apologize for the sudden distraction, explaining that you remembered something funny that happened at work the other day.
-Much to your surprise, he actually converses back, asking about this ‘funny thing’ that has you so worked up. So you fondly tell him about your coworkers and their playful lunchroom antics, and which specific nonsense you were giggling about. He smiles at your story, his stoic expression leaving his face for just a few seconds.
-You talk idly for a couple more minutes, nothing more than casual small talk, but in those few minutes you begin to realize that he’s really not as scary as he seems, and is quite pleasant to talk to. You don’t learn much about him, because his ride arrives before the conversation gets too deep, but you smile and wave at him all the same and wish him a good day.
-It becomes somewhat of a routine to meet him outside at that particular bench after a long day of work, and chatter about the goings on of your workspaces. You always have something funny to tell him about the people you work with, more often than not being involved in the story yourself, and you always manage to get a smile out of him.
-You try to ignore the flutters in your chest when he smiles at you, but it’s hard. He’s handsome, and kind, and the more you get to know him the more you end up liking him.
-One evening, you don’t show up at your usual spot. He waits for you, even sending his car around the block a couple times to see if you’ll show up, but you never do. It startles him how concerned he is for you, even though he knows you’re probably just working late or took the day off.
-But when he sees you the next day with crutches and a cast around your ankle, guilt niggles at him, as if he should have known you were going to get hurt despite not using his quirk on you.
-You fall onto the bench beside him, slightly out of breath from exerting extra energy with the crutches. He doesn’t even get to ask what happened to you before you’re launching into a tangent about how dumb stairs are and how they shouldn’t be made out of slippery material, and how you had to sit on the step for twenty minutes with a broken ankle before anyone showed up.
-He’s a little appalled when you tell him that, and without thinking he asks to see your phone. When you give it to him, he types in his number and name and hands it back to you, telling you that if you ever need anything, to send him a message. Your heart swells at how sweet he is, and you thank him shyly.
-Over the next couple weeks, you send him messages whenever the desire strikes you. Cute things, funny things, weird things, you name it. You keep him up to date on your life, and he lets you know about what’s going on in his. It’s friendlier than when you first started talking, but it hasn’t progressed much beyond talking about work and sharing jokes.
-Until one night, you’re absurdly tired but can’t find it in you to sleep. So you send him a text, asking to play 20Q. Despite the fact that it’s almost midnight and you don’t expect a reply, he shows up in your inbox and agrees. You spend the next hour asking each other increasingly personal questions, and every time you think you’ve overstepped, he one-up’s you with something even more prying.
-And by the end of the game, you’ve somehow agreed to get drinks with him that weekend, as a very much not-platonic outing.
-You’re a nervous wreck, but the date ends up going really well and you have a good time, and if the gentle kiss he leaves on your cheek is any indication of his own feelings, then he definitely had a good time too. You walk into your apartment to find you already have a text from him, saying you should do it again sometime.
-He takes you somewhere new every time you go out, always somewhere interesting or peaceful; museums, shows, the occasional dinner. He even takes you dancing one time, as a celebration of your ankle healing and getting the cast off. You resemble a baby deer on ice when you dance, and you step on his toes a couple times, but it leaves you both laughing so you wouldn’t call it a complete fail.
-The first time he kisses you for real is when he drops you off at your apartment after that date. His expression is soft and fond as he cups your jaw and leans down, gracing you with the faintest brush of his lips. He would have left it at that, if not for the fact that you clutch at his lapels and pull him in for another kiss. And another, and another.
-By the time you’re done with him, you’re both breathless and his cheeks are tinted pink and his glasses are slightly askew. He kisses you one final time before he leaves, lest you both get carried away again.
-It’s a pretty good relationship that you guys have, based on mutual interests and trust. He’s smart and perceptive, so he always knows when you’re having an off day, and does his best to try and cheer you up. He can be a little stubborn sometimes, which is frustrating when you’re trying to decide what to make for dinner and he insists that it’s his turn to cook, but overall it works out pretty well.
-He likes all your quirks and niches, and thinks you’re an interesting person. He also admires your kindness and work ethic, as well as your ability to compartmentalize feelings and let yourself have fun when you need it. You’re one of the few people that can make him feel more at peace after a long day, as well as one of the few people he knows won’t judge him about the things he struggles with.
-Overall a good boyfriend. He’s tricky to get to know at first, but stick with it and you’ll end up making a good friend. His stubbornness can get on your nerves at times, but we all have our vices so just be patient with him and he’ll come around. He’s not much into PDA, if only to uphold the public image he’s curated, but when it’s just the two of you he’s affectionate and caring, and loves deeply once he’s decided to let a person in.

It was now the second day of Nationals and Karasuno was getting ready to face off against Inarizaka High. Most of the boys were waiting in the side gym. Hoping that they are not slacking around when they should be stretching or at least pre-warming up.
You were with Kiyoko and Hitoka, talking to Ukia-San and Taneka-Sensei about the upcoming match. Kiyoko was going over the checklist, making sure they had everything as the teacher/coach duo were confirming if they had everything.
“Osu, we just need to fill the water bottles and get the boys to the main court,” Ukia said to the three managers.
“Yes, I will be at the entrance of the main court waiting to set up our equipment,” Taneka-Sensei replied.
“I’ll help you, Sensei,” Kiyoko said, grabbing the first aid bag and her notebooks.
Grabbing the water bottles, Hitoka said, “I’ll start filling the water bottles.”
“In that case, I’ll make sure the boys are all stretch and ready to go on court,” you said, promising to do your duty.
“Good, we will meet at the entrance then,” Takeda-Sensei said, allowing the group to disperse.
Walking to the side gym, you were greeted by Karasuno on one side when the other side was Inarizaka.
“Yahoo!” You said greeting Suga and Daichi.
“Oh, (y/n)! Is there anything you need?” Daichi asked you.
“No, not really, I was just told to make sure you guys are ready to head out. But you guys have few more minutes to do your…” you said, doing finger guns, “things.”
“I think you should be mostly focusing on is trying to stop those two,” Suga said, snickering at the scene of Kageyama and Hinata tossing the ball together. Until the ball hit Hinata’s face. The three of you cringe at the impact see a small red patch over his nose.
“I’ll go make sure he’s alright,” you said, reassuring the two three-years.
Walking up to Hinata, you noticed a faux blonde greeted Kageyama. As the two setters were talking, you check on Hinata’s nose.
“It won’t bruise and it looks fine. Just be careful,” You told Hinata, hoping he’ll take your advice.
Not really paying attention to what Kageyama and the blonde were saying, but you noticed that Hinata suddenly got angry.
What is going on…
“Yeah but I don’t suck,” You heard Kageyama blankly said.
I’m guess they insulted Hinata?
“Oh, I know that Tobio!” The other said happily.
“Don’t worry, our team isn’t that weak,” Kageyama said.
“Well good luck!” You heard the dyed hair blonde say.
You were about to tell the crazy duo that they should change, but was interrupted, “It’s good to see yer again Ms. Different language.”
Looking at the fake blonde, you gave him a confused look, trying to figure out when the two of you met. Until it hit you. With realization, you said, “I know you!”
Giving you a sly smirk, he said, “Now yer remember me.”
Behind you, you hear Hinata asked Kageyama, “How does (y/n) know him?”
“I have no idea…” Kageyama said, looking between you and him.
Giving him a happy smile and nod, you said, “You’re Osamu twin brother right! I’ve seen all of his videos!”
Not noticing his face overcoming with disbelief, you continued, “Can you tell him that I’m a big fan, please? It would mean a lot!”
Hearing a snicker behind him, you didn’t pay mind to it. Only trying to convince Osamu’s twin to try and deliver your message. Seeing his eye twitch you asked, “Are you alright?”
“I”m the better twin! Damn him and his damn popular cooking videos” He said with annoyance.
Before you can reply to him you heard, “Oi Tsumu we should go get ready.”
Both you and Tsumu looked at the direction to the voice. Next to the blonde, stood a silver hair male.
“Oh?” You heard Osamu said looking down at you. Giving you a kind smile, he said, “Sorry if Atsumu is bothering you. He could be annoying.”
Letting out a string of giggles, you tried to say in a flirty tone, “It-It’s fine. G-guess you can say you’re-you’re my knight in armor shining.”
Armor shining? What am I saying?
Letting out another string of giggles, you then tried to fix your mistake, “I mean! Shinning in armor knight!”
Wait…
“I think you mean Knight in shining armor?” Osamu said, smiling at you.
Feeling you face complete turning red, you stutter out, “Y-yes. That is what I-I meant.”
“In that case,” Osamu said, leaning downing to your height and whispered, “I’m glad to be yer Knight in shining armor.”
You once again let out a string of giggles like a middle school girl, you twirled a small piece of your hair. Being oblivious to what was happening behind you and to the two setters who stood next to you. The Karasuno team started at you in bewilderment, betrayed, and (in Suga case) in humor.
“Is she…” Asahi said in confusion, “is she trying to flirt?”
Suga laughing silently, answered, “Oh… She is! Look at out little manager growing up, Daichi.”
Daichi, feeling his eye twitch, said in betrayed, “Out of everyone, she had to pick our opponent.”
As for Kageyama and Atsumu, who’s eyes darted between you and Osamu with a shock or disgust face.
“What is happening?” Atsumu wondered out loud.
“I-I…I don’t…” was all Kageyama said in confusion. When Hinata stood there, wondering, “Why is (y/n) gigging so much?”
With an awkward smile, you tried to make it seem natural, you quickly said, “I really love your cooking videos! Especially the Onigiri ones!”
Oh God, someone please save me!
With genuine curiosity, Osamu asked you, “you actually watch my cooking videos? And try the recipes?”
“Of course I do!” You said without embarrassing yourself, “That’s the point of cooking videos…”
Letting out a chuckle, he said, “Yer’ll be surprised when people only watch them just to ogle at me instead of the food.”
“W-Well you are an attractive person!” You said quickly. But once you heard what you said, even in a more hurry, ranted, “But I don’t think that! Wait- Um, you are attractive but not my type? I mostly like people's personalities rather than looks. But looks are also nice! I um-“
What am I doing?
Hearing a chuckle from the silver hair twin, he announced, “Well Tsumu and I have to get going. It was nice to meet you.”
With that, the twins turned around and left, leaving you a red blushing mess, a confused Hinata, and a shock Kageyama.
“So what jus-” Kageyama tried asked, but you interrupt him saying, “Not. A. Word.”
Turning around, you saw the whole Karasuno team looked at you with different emotions. Once you were sure the blush on your face was gone, you announced loudly, “What are you guys standing there for? Get. Changed.” Pointing to the folded orange jerseys.
The boys slowly made their way to the orange jerseys, unsure what had happened. You stood there in the same spot, closing your eyes and bringing your hands over to your face. Rethink of the events that transpired.
Hitoka came in the gym, seeing the boys getting dressed, “Perfect! It is almost time to warm up!”
When the boys were all dressed, they started to head out to the main arena, getting started on their warm-up. Hitoka saw that you haven’t moved at all when she arrived. Walking up to you, she asked, “Are you okay,(y/n)?”
Letting your hands fall to your side, you look at her with a dead look in your eyes, simplify asking her, “Can you get the boys to spike me in my head?
It is now time for the Karasuno vs. Inarizaki match. You and Hitoka were on the balcony, seeing Atsumu was about to serve. The two of you anticipated as you both waited for the game to the official start. Seeing Atsumu walking, ready to do his service, he raised his hand up and then grabbing the air with his fist. Making the Inarizaki side silent.
Wow…Was that really necessary?
Atsumu threw the fall in the air, doing a small run to prep him to jump, serving to the ball to Karasuno's side. And with that, the game has now officially started.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Putting your phone in the Karasuno sport’s jacket pocket, you turned to Hitoka, asking her, “Is it okay if we wait here for a bit? There is someone I want you to meet.”
“Sure thing!” Hitoka said happily, “Is it your bothers? I really want to meet your brothers.”
“Well…” you said, trailing off, “It’s not my brothers…But a friend!”
Pouting, Hitoka sadly replied, “How come you don’t talk about your family?”
“It’s just…,” you hesitated, trying to find the right words, “it’s kinda complicated.”
Curious, Hitoka asked a string of questions, “Do you have a terrible relationship with your parents? Are they always working? Are you brothers scary looking? Cause if so, I would still, maybe, would like to meet them!”
Giving her a small kind smile, you answered all of her questions, “I don’t have a terrible relationship with my parents. They are always working, but they would try to make time for me. Also, my brothers are not scary looking.”
“Then how come you don’t talk about them?” She asked, tilting her head.
“No one really asks, I guess,” you said nervously.
“So if I asked,” Hitoka wondered, “then you’ll answer?”
Letting out a nervous chuckle, saying, “I’ll try my best.”
Why is she so interested in my family?
Looking at Hitoka eyes, you saw them turned into stars, excited that she can get to know more about you. Having a feeling that she was going to ask many questions, you started to prepare yourself for what is to come. But, instead of hearing a Hitoka voice, you hear a yell coming towards the two of you, “(Y/N)!” Looking at the voice, you saw Rin waving her hand as she runs towards the two of you.
“There she is,” saying as you tried to hide your relief.
Reaching the two of you, Rin huffed out, “Found…You…Atsumu…Jerk...Need...Rest.”
Chucking at her, you introduce the two, “Hitoka, this is Sasaki Rin. Rin, this is Yachi Hitoka.”
Shyly bowing her head, Hitoka said, “I-It’s nice to meet you.”
Finally catching her breath, Rin bowed and happily said, “It’s nice to meet you too! (Y/n) has told me about you!”
“She has?” Hitoka said in shock.
Smiling, you said in the kindest voice, “Of course I have! Why wouldn’t I?”
Shyly stuttering out, the sweet blonde then said, “I don’t know…”
Chucking at her, you turned your attention to Rin, “So how was talking to Atsumu?”
Rin’s face turned into a sneer at the mention of that name, “I never want to hear that name again.”
“That bad?” You asked.
“That bad,” Rin said with a sneer.
Confuse on what was happening, Hitoka asked, “What happened?”
Looking at Hitoka, you answered her question, “Rin wanted to try to flirt with Atsumu, but it went bad.”
Looking back at Rin, Hitoka said with disappointment, “You can do so much better.”
“I told her that, but she didn’t listen…” you said, shaking her head.
Giving each of you a small glare, Rin said, “Don’t you two have somewhere to be?”
Rolling your eyes at her, you simply said, “We just have to make sure the boys are resting.”
“I’ll go check up on them!” Hitoka said quickly, “Besides, I need to ask Kiyoko something.”
Looking at her worriedly, asking, “You sure you don’t want me to go with you?”
Shaking her head at you, she replied, "No, it's alright! See you later!"
Nodding your head slowly, hesitating to say, “O-oh, okay. Be safe!”
Both Rin and you waved Hitoka off as she left, leaving you and Rin alone. Both of you looked at each, unsure of what to do. Not knowing why she suddenly left in a hurry. Until you both heard a loud cheer coming from a few courts down. Looking over, both of you saw it was Itachiyama Vs. Matsukawa Tech. Intrigue by the game, you asked Rin, “Should we see what all the commotion is about?”
“Yes please,” Rin answers quickly, leading the way.
Following her on the balcony, making sure to avoid bumping into people. You were now watching the match unfold. Seeing the scoreboard, it showed that it was the second set, and Itachiyama was leading when Matsukawa barely had any points.
“Seems like Matsukawa barely has a chance,” Rin said loud, trying to overcome the loud cheering.
Instead of answering her, all you could do was focusing on number 10. Seeing him harshly spiking the ball towards Matsukawa number 4, who was one of the boys who was bothering you the other day. A small smirk appeared on your face, seeing karma really is the best. Both of you continued to watch the game, already knowing that Itachiyama was going to win, making a few comments. Seeing a clean harsh spike from Itachiyama's number 10, noticing once again was aim at Matsukawa's number 4, you cheered as they won.
You stopped cheering but still had a wide smile on your face. Looking closely at Itachiyama number 10, you saw it was the boy with black curly hair with the two cute moles above his eyebrow.
That’s Sakusa!
Feeling a certain stare on his back, Sakusa turned towards the crowd. But, instead of looking at the crowd, he eyed the balcony seeing an (h/c) girl that he has seen four times now. He allowed a small smile to appear on his face, seeing it was you, smiling down at him.

Fun Facts
When Sakusa's team saw him smiling, they freaked out, thinking something was wrong.
Suna almost choked when eating his jelly stick.
(Y/N) doesn't have a crush on Osamu. She was so starstruck when meeting him for the first time.
Atsumu called Rin a squealing pig, thinking she was one of the girls who was cheering during his serve.
During the match, Osamu started craving rice.
On the first night of nations, Kageyama and Hinata went on a run with Tsukishima following them on a bike. Tsukishima tried many times to abandon them. It never worked.
Ann-Ju's uncle works in the police department. She asked her uncle if she can get a background check on Yukie (Y/n). Nothing came up under that name.

Hey hey! 😃 Can I do another request for Eyeshield 21? How would a relationship be with Kotaro Sasaki & Akaba Hayato?
Hope you have a lovely day!! :)
Eyeshield 21! Scenario: Request
Prompt: What Dating the Boys Would Look Like
Kotaro Sasaki: A relationship with Kotaro would be quite fun. He’s quite a passionate individual and is highly goal-driven and works relentlessly to accomplish what he seeks out to do, and this shows in his relationships. He seems to be the type of person who likes showing his affection through actions and material objects. Therefore, he’d bring you out on dates to places he knows you would enjoy and would buy you as many gifts as he could. However, he does tend to miss out on certain details, which means you’d have to fill him in on things directly rather than hinting at it. His favourite place to bring his partner too would be football practice. He’d love being able to practice his favourite thing with the knowledge that you’re sitting on the bench watching him. He’d also definitely try to show off more often if you were there to support him. He is childhood friends with Juri Sawai (the team’s manager) and it would mean a lot to him if his partner is able to get along with her without there being any issues. His relationship with Akaba is a bit complicated on the surface level, but he does care about Akaba and is grateful to have him as a friend despite his outward behaviour. Therefore, it’s important to him that his partner gets along with Akaba, or rather he’d prefer that the two are friendly acquaintances (he’d definitely get jealous if Akaba was too close). Regarding PDA, he’s flustered by it. Despite the fact that he seems to initiate the PDA with his unintentionally flirty comments, he grows embarrassed when you act on it in public, especially around his teammates who make jokes about it. He does enjoy holding hands on dates and likes knowing that you’re near him at all times. He’s a bit bad at expressing his emotions and insecurities in a healthy manner (basically not being angry), but as time passes, his communication skills develops enough for issues to be talked about and resolved quickly. Regarding football again, he would love having you as his team manager if you went to the same school, but if you didn’t, just knowing you’re in the stands watching his games is good enough for him. It’s a typical romance story, but just with a bit more energy
Hayato Akaba: A relationship with Akaba is simple, but with a twist of oddness. He’s a simple guy who enjoys doing his own things, which often include football and creating music at random times. The oddness comes from his manner of speaking and the way he classifies people depending on their wavelength. In order for him to date you, you’d have to be on his wavelength or close enough or else his personality would clash with yours constantly. He tends to do things the way he wants them done, and therefore the dates would be dominated by his own interests. He particularly enjoys lounging in his basement surrounded by his music equipment with you sitting next to him and listening. There’s no one that he’s particularly close with, but it would be necessary for his partner to get along with his teammates and to support his team and himself in all their endeavours. He’d also love it if you supported him during his arguments with Kotaro. I don’t think he’d particularly get jealous over having his partner be around other people, but it depends on how close they might be with them and who the other person is. He often has to keep you away from Kotaro who constantly complains about Akaba to you. Regarding PDA, he has no problems with it. He lives his own life and doesn’t care if other people have different opinions than him because he believes he’s right. Therefore, he often instigates PDA and leaves his partner to be the flustered one. Akaba, despite being talented in explaining concepts and communicating with his teammates, is bad at expressing his emotions and communicating effectively with his partner. He can be a bit prideful at times, and this prevents him from talking things out. If he feels comfortable enough around his partner, he does work on it and things do get better eventually, but it’s a rocky start. He’d also want to see his partner as the manager of the team, but he’s content with knowing that you’re there to watch his matches and cheer him on. The relationship is simple with the occasional bump in the road
I feel like Akaba’s character is just the personification of the word “vibes” and I have no explanation for it.
Notes:
Thank you for the request. I hope you enjoyed this.
I’m sorry I’ve been inactive on Tumblr for all my fandoms, but I’m out of ideas on what scenarios to do.
I try to keep my posts gender neutral, which prevents me from doing certain ones such as pregnancy scenarios and period ones. If anyone has any ideas, please message me and I’d be more than happy to do those scenarios for any fandom I write for.

HI! I absolutely love your work and I was wondering if you could give me some much needed angst to fluff in my life. So Overhaul gets his s/o pregnant and gets disgusted with her and completely walks out on her. Maybe comes back and tells her to give birth on the cleanest place ever, his bed. She ends up passing out and he realizes his feelings. Sorry if it's too complicated I just really wanna see it.
I’ve always cared.
Chisaki Kai (Overhaul) x Reader
Warnings: Pregnancy? Chisaki leaving you? I think these are warnings? Angst/fluff bittersweet!
Too complicated?..... Maybe just a bit since Papi-Kai is a sociopath. Actually this was a bit more difficult due to Chisaki’s personality. So I hope you don’t mind but I changed it a bit.
Actor au!  I had to look up film production and childbirth….. Fun.... Well I dunno I actually like this Piece :’) It’s that good hurt.
You didn’t know why you did this to yourself... It was ridiculous. He had made it very clear that he had wanted nothing to do with you or your child… His child. And, yet you still tried his number, you still tried to contact him but the messages and calls never made it through. Blocked, he had blocked you from all his social-media platforms and even went as far as to tell his security guards not to let you near his condo.
You felt stupid for even thinking he cared, for thinking that Chisaki would want to start a family with you. When you had told him of your pregnancy you were nervous but mostly excited because you were going to have a child with the man you loved. You weren’t expecting the horrified look on his face, the disgusted sneer, nor his harsh words.
“M-my career is just taking off” He frowned. “You know how many fans I’d lose if they found out I was seeing someone? Imagine telling them I’m going to be a father? And the mother is some shitty background character from My hero academia!?”
“How on earth was I not careful? I don’t want anything to do with you or that child” He sneered; his lips curling in disgust when you attempted to touch him. “Don’t fucking touch me.” He panicked, he was quick to get out of your sight afterwards.
.
.
“It’s okay” You had told yourself as he left you there pregnancy test in hand.
“Yo (Name) ready to shoot the next- Eh? You okay?”
.
.
When your friend Tenko found out that Chisaki had said that to you he went on a riot. He was royally pissed and he may or may not have been the one to tip the crew and tell them to leave Chisaki tied to the bed frame for a bit longer… Maybe it was due to all that time he spent tied up on the ground but it seemed as though sense had finally spat in his face. Literally…
“You're such an idiot.” Tenko scoffed. “I thought the whole dumbassery was just an act”
“Shut up.” He frowned. “And untie me already! I wanna go home. Eri is-”
“Eri is fine she went to go check if Mr. Sasaki wasn’t actually hurt.” Tenko huffed. “But we’re not talking about her, we're talking about your second child you dipshit.”
“Listen I know I said some hurtful things to (Name) but I just- I can’t. My hands are full with Eri and I-”
“So, you're just gonna pull what your ex did and abandon your child?” The blue haired male hissed.
“That has nothing to do with anything and-” He was cut off by Tenko flipping him off.
“You know, you're just as shitty as the character you play.” He scoffed before stomping away in anger.
.
.
.
Months had passed. Your belly was nice and round and your due date was near. Your heart still ached when you thought of Chisaki but you knew that you couldn’t bemoan him forever, so you resolved to better yourself for both your sake and that of your child. In fact a week after Chisaki had left you, you were given an opportunity to join the editing team. You had never been more grateful for taking the classes Chizome recommended.
When Chisaki had finally wrapped up his portion of the series you no longer had to see him in person. However, you did have to see him in panels and there was also his child... You saw Eri a lot and although you loved the cheery girl to bits she reminded you that you weren’t good enough to be in Chisaki’s life. That his life was already full and you had been the one wanting more… You weren’t going to dwell on it.
“(Name)! Thank goodness you're still here!” You heard the green haired protagonist sigh.
“Midoriya? What are you doing here? I thought you guys were filming outside today.” You asked.
“We are!” He panted “I-it’s just that Eri’s part is over and she wants to go home and no one else knows where Mr. Chisaki lives and he said he won’t be able to come by for a couple hours and Eri is crying and we don’t know what to do and I thought I’d ask you because you-”
“Midoriya! Breathe.” You laughed. “I can take her, it's fine.”
“Thank you!” He grinned sheepishly. “Guess Deku’s habit has rubbed off on me.” He laughed.
.
.
.
“So sweety, which flavor do you want?” You chirped, watching as the young girl beamed at the prospect of eating ice cream before dinner. You had decided to get the bluenette a small treat before taking her to-
“I want that one- Ms. (Name)? A-are you okay!” She yelped.
“Hah~ I-I’ll b-be fine my w-water just broke.” You gasped; leaning over the ice cream vendors cart to grasp at the metal pole tightly. It fucking hurt. You were scared.
“What d-does that mean?” She panicked watching as the ice cream man tired to call an ambulance.
“The baby.” You groaned. “I’m about to have my baby.”
“Here?! C-can’t you hold it in?”You let out a pain filled laugh at the question and shook your head.
“Eri I’m going to need you to call your daddy so that he can pick you up.” You breathed, thanking the ice cream man for calling the ambulance. He waved off your thanks and helped you to a bench as Eri dialed her father’s number.
“D-daddy? Yes I know but I need you to pick me up…… No (Name) can’t take me she’s going to have her baby….. I don’t know I told her to hold it so I think she’s going to wait until she gets to the hospital…. The street? Um 401 Shisui Dr… Okay, I will, I love you, bye.”
You breathed in and out deeply as per the instructions of the ice cream man when you felt Eri slide her hand into yours.
“Daddy said you might be scared and that I shouldn’t leave you alone.” She smiled. You were grateful. It felt as if though hours had passed but it had really only been five minutes. Chisaki’s car screeched to a halt at the curb and he quickly stepped out.
“Eri, get in the car. Sir I can take her from here thank you for your help.” He told the ice cream man as he helped you stand.
“He already called the ambulance.” You protested.
“There’s a roadblock on fifth, it’s roadwork and there going to have to take the long way. Besides, I already called and told them not to come.” His words flowed from his lips in a quick panic as he helped you into his car.
“This isn’t the way to the hospital.” You panted.
“I know but I already told you about the block.” He stressed.
“.....You know I won’t push him out right away right?” You deadpanned. “Besides my contractions just started so I’m sure going to the hospital is the better bet.”
“I’d  rather not risk it.” he replied.
“You rather not risk it?” You scoffed. “I’m the one in labor! Besides, since when do you care.”
“...I’ve always cared.” he mumbled.
“Bullshit!” You hissed in pain.
“Language.” He frowned looking at you and motioning to Eri.
.
.
.
You had been on his bed for hours. Sweat drenched your body and his sheets as you moaned in pain.
“Fuck you! It hurtssssssssss” You hissed; glaring at the golden eyed man.
“It takes two to tango.” he shrugged. He had made arrangements so that Eri could sleep over her friend's house and he promised her that you would be alright.
“Ahhhhhhh” You wailed as another voilent contraction surged through your body.
“You can do this (Name) Your strong-
“Of course I’m fucking strong! No thanks to youuuuuuuu” You clenched your teeth.
It was a long night……..
After one final push you heard the wails of your son. And when Chisaki handed him to you, you burst into tears. And, even though he looked like an alien you thought he was the most beautiful thing in the world. However, you were so exhausted. Chisaki let you drift off into a peaceful slumber as he held his son….
His yellow eyed looked down at the pudgy thing in his arms and he felt tears gather at his waterline. He looked to you and then to the child. He hoped it wasn’t too late to fix things between the two of you. And as he cleaned up he prayed that you could forgive him.
“He’s so cute.” You gushed when you had woken up. The small being’s lips closed around your nipple as he drank your colostrum. Chisaki watched the exchange silently, before deciding that he needed to come clean and apologize.
“(Name).. I know you hate me. I mean I would hate me if I were in your shoes. I was an asshole to you and said things I didn’t mean… I won’t try to justify myself but I thought you should know the truth as to why I tried pushing you away… I.. I never stopped caring about you. Truth is I’ve always cared.. I was just so.. Scared. Everytime I look at Eri I wonder if I’m doing a good job. And sometimes I can’t help but think I’m a shitty father. Then there’s you. We had been together for two years. I was never able to give you anything. Not a ring, or a home and sometimes not even my time.
It scared me when you told me you were pregnant. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know if I was going to be any good and so I ended up hurting you. I understand if you don’t want to get back with me or if you don’t want me in his life.. Fuck i really fucked up.” He cried. “(Name) I’m so sorry. If I could take it back I would! I’m a fucking coward and I’m even more shitty for waiting so long to tell you.”
Your heart still longed for Chisaki, but you weren’t sure if you were ready to be with him again. You wouldn’t deny him from seeing his son but for you to give him a second chance so that you all could be a family… That was going to take time.
“H-how about we talk about that later.” You sniffled motioning him over. “For now let’s settle on naming him. Then we can talk about me forgiving you.”

Consider this: Magnet, but it going both ways with MC and her suitor. Everyone is staring at these pair of hot damn 'are they models or something someone catch me as I swoon' but they're both so 'secretly-in-love-with-each-other-but-everyone-can-see-it-so-what's-the-truth' that they never realize it? Fangirls and fanboys are instantly turned away because damn how could you even think to contest with MC/Suitor? THEY'RE NOT OFFICIAL BUT DAMNIT SOMEONE MAKE THESE TWO KISS ALREADY--
Okay so brownie points to you, anon, because this is the exact scenario I pictured when I put Magnet on the trope list.
(This turned out differently but I hope you can still enjoy it!)

Masamune x Fem!Reader
High School AU
A knock on the door interrupts you while you read yet another error-riddled report, a job far too annoying to be dealt with in the early morning before homeroom.
“Come in,” you call, fiddling with your pen.
“Senpai,” a scrawny young man enters the room with a look on his face that can only be interpreted as guilty, “I’m so sorry I’m late, I wasn’t aware that—”
You stand up from your seat, ushering him to come in as he stumbles upon his words. You close the door as you listen, picking up stuff like “first day” and “sophomore” and, a popular one, “sorry”. Gesturing to a desk on the left of yours, facing the other side of the room, you fix him a cup of water from the drinks station.
“Calm down,” you say as soon as it’s clear that he has no plans of stopping. “You’re not late, you’re early.”
That seems to stun him. You offer him the cup, which just slips into his hands like he’s not fully aware of it. He’s no longer catching his breath.
“—but you’re already here?”
“I come early on days when there’s a lot of work—it’s been a couple of weeks since the start of the new school year, which means there’s always something for me to do.”
“I see,” he answers, still sounding far-away.
“Did you eat breakfast?”
“Y-Yes, uh, I’m sorry for bursting in like that!”
“It’s okay. Your name?”
“Sasaki! Sasaki Fumio. I’m the new council member—the Vice President was the one who recruited me.”
“Ranmaru did?” You nod receptively. “I must’ve been unavailable at the time. Well, make yourself comfortable. The previous treasurer is going to be here anytime soon for the handover.”
“Thank you, kaichou!” Sasaki bows deeply, and you shoot him a symphatetic smile, somehow hoping that he’ll catch your unspoken message: you don’t have to be so formal.
As the sophomore familiarizes himself with his new workspace, you return to the report you were reading, struggling to figure out where you left off. At the back of your mind you wonder why the student council’s office in this academy is at least half of the size of its faculty office.
Then you glance at the mountain of folders to your right—ah.
That’s because there’s so much work for you to do.
♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
Ranmaru might appear as a soft, effeminate boy that laughs at all your jokes, but he can be quite ruthless while doing his job. Right now he’s barraging you with a series of requests from the student body.
“The tea ceremony club asks for your permission to employ a mascot for their recruitment drive.”
“In what form and how big?” You try not to scrunch your eyebrows at the possibilities in the answers, minding your steps as you walk through the hallway from the council office to this crime scene Ranmaru is supposed to brief you.
“Tea bowl,” there’s an unsure pause as Ranmaru matches his pace to yours, walking beside you but looking straight ahead, “…big.”
“Give them the go ahead but restrict their movements to outside the school building.”
“Morning, kaichou!”
“Morning!” You reply back to whoever it was, but never stopping in your tracks, leaving behind a trail of giggles from a bunch of students.
“There’s dispute between the male and female volleyball teams about practice grounds that they’d like you to mediate.”
“What about the faculty advisor?”
“Nakajima-sensei is on paternity leave and won’t be back anytime soon.”
“Good for him, but I think we need to check if the club needs a sub for that. But I’ll mediate.”
“I’ll let them know.”
“Also, don’t you think it would be fun if they can just play against each other to settle the debate?”
Ranmaru laughs—he always has a way to make you feel good about yourself without being dishonest in the very least. “That way we can attract an audience to come and watch.”
“And we sell the tickets?”
“It’ll be nice to have more money for our own recruitment drive,” Ranmaru shrugs, playing along. The two of you arrive just outside the shoe lockers by the school entrance, and in front of you is a sea of students, walking your way, trying to get to class.
“Why is it so crowded here?”
Ranmaru points ahead to the source—a recruitment drive right in the middle of the paved path leading towards the building. There’s a makeshift booth and a queueing crowd. You can’t tell from which club. The only way is to move closer.
Ranmaru leads you towards the front where you can see a sign. Once you’re on the other side of it, you see that it reads
A hug and a kiss for new members! ♥️
“It’s home ec,” Ranmaru supplies, sheepishly tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. He studies your face as you sigh.
“It’s always home ec.”
You dread the steps you need to take to get to the point of the problem, even with your extremely capable second-in-command having your back. The truth is that the home economics club president has a way of addressing you in ways that make you forget yourself and the responsibilities of your position.
Though it might be true that at the end of the day you both are nobody but regular people, you’d rather not venture into the dangerous things he might rope you in.
“Always the crowd-pleaser, aren’t we, Date-kun?”
The tall form standing in front of the booth takes notice of you, his good eye immediately zeroing in on you.
“If it isn’t our very own student council president,” he says lightheartedly. “Did you finally decide to join home ec?”
“Unfortunately no,” you say, shrugging. There’s nothing particularly cold or passive-aggressive about your exchange with Date Masamune—it’s almost routine. Dare you say, though, it’s almost… fun.
“Too bad. There’s no next year, you know, because we’re graduating and all.”
“Why are you selling your body for the love of strangers, Date-kun?”
He barks out a laugh, head thrown back and hand cupped against his mouth to muffle the sound. The other home ec members are laughing, too. Clearly he’s taken aback. He sighs, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye, while you and Ranmaru look on, amused.
“Sorry, I certainly didn’t see that coming,” he says, calming down. “But hey, the more the merrier, right? Aren’t you proud of seeing the academy hosting such a popular club?”
“I would, if only the circumstances aren’t as seedy as this,” you sigh, once again inspecting the a hug and a kiss sign, painted in scandalous hot pink. Not appropriate for extracurricular activity. The queue now looks absolutely embarrassed, the many girls visibly squirming, covering their faces, while the boys feigns interest in the beautiful blue sky above.
“Why even go this far?”
“Well, you know how I’m never satisfied no matter how successful the club has become?” He grins. “That’s why.”
“I doubt you’ll successfully obtain quality leads this way. They’re primary interest is certainly not your cooking courses.”
Something dangerous flashes in his eyes and you automatically feel a physical response: your feet, planted firmer on the ground as if scared that he’s going to sweep you away. A foolish fear, you note, but one that’s entirely possible. There’s no telling what he’s going to do next. You’re made aware of the heart beating in your chest.
“Oh-ho,” he smirks, and circles you once, like a predator around prey. “What are you suggesting, kaichou? That the home ec club is a secret sex den?”
He whispers the last part only for your ears to hear, but even without knowing his exact words Ranmaru reacts, taking a step forward. You stop him with a look. You can handle this.
“You’re not even blushing,” Masamune says, almost in disdain, but now he’s a little close, peering into your face, searching. From your peripheral you see the crowd finally dispersing, not wanting to be caught up in trouble.
“That’s because I’m considering it a possibility.”
He laughs again, softer this time. There’s a smoldering heat rolling off of him, whether it’s his presence or his actual body heat, you can’t tell, but you’re definitely feeling it. You acknowledge this uncomfortable tension, but force away the thought that it might be sexually charged. Of course, Date Masamune is one of the most popular and attractive students in the academy. But that’s that—it’s natural for people to be physically attracted to others. Nothing more.
Right?
“You just lost me a lot of members,” he says, not even looking around him. He keeps staring at you.
“For good reason. Your tactics can be reported to the faculty as indecency and the principal will definitely be involved,” you’re not actually definitely sure about the principal bit, they could always just let him off with a warning since he’s quite a star student in his own way, but no mind. The truth isn’t always a good weapon for intimidation.
“It’s all completely consensual.”
“I understand that part,” you rebuke, sounding harsher than before. Of course it’s consensual—they have full liberty, partaking in the queue. “Consensual doesn’t mean appropriate for school grounds. At least not in our culture.”
He ruffles his hair. He hates the feeling he gets when you scold him for real, as if you’re disappointed in him somehow.
“I want you to know that it’s all in good fun.”
“I’m sure it is,” you soften a little. He’s a boy on the cusp of being a young adult. You understand because you’re just as human. “I’m merely doing my job. And part of my job here is to tell you what to do next.”
He lets out a dejected sigh. “Fire away, ma’am.”
You shoot him a glare at the nickname.
“The home economics club recruitment drive is to be put on hold under the direction of the student council until you’ve submitted a new recruitment drive plan that does not involve hugging or kissing new members, even at their own discretion—and once that’s done, you need to stick to that plan. No more improvisations in the name of good fun.”
“Okay,” he shrugs.
“I’ll even accept the same plan as you’ve previously submitted.”
“Yeah.”
“You better pray that all the chatter about your fun booth doesn’t reach the faculty. If that happens, it’s out of my hands. You do know this, right?”
“Yeah.”
It’s your turn to sigh now, a mix of fatigue and relief. “Plan by the end of today, on my desk. I’ll wait for you.”
“Okay.” I’ll wait for you. Coming from you, that sounds especially nice, he thinks.
“You better stop fooling around, Date-kun. You said it yourself—we’re graduating next year. I’m just saying maybe it’s time for you to take it more seriously.”
There’s something about the way you said it: as solemn as it is severe, that inevitably shakes the one-eyed boy in his core. Out of all his head-butting with you, you’ve never sounded this serious.
He just hopes it isn’t disappointment in your eyes.
You turn around, walking back to the building with Ranmaru following suit, leaving Masamune and a handful of other home ec members standing around the walkway, their booth abandoned and prospective members gone.
 ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
“Whoa—”
He opens the door to the student council office, only to find you standing right beyond it, ready to head out. You look as startled as he is, taking a few staggered steps back to avoid collision.
“You okay?” He asks.
“Yes,” you answer. “I thought you weren’t going to show up.” Again, there’s that discomfort in Masamune’s gut at the thought of you leaving. Did he seem like a person to go against his word like that, just letting you wait for the whole day for something that’s not going to arrive?
The orange sky lights up the room, burning it with orange hues of the sunset. He watches as your silhouette walks back to your desk, the sun stabbing shadows of you on the floor. He follows you and hands you the report. You opt to not take a seat, standing in front of him as you read through the two-pager.
“Looks good,” you say after a few moments. “The same as before.”
“Didn’t want to put my secretary’s work to waste.”
“Wise choice,” you say, offering him a smile as you leave the report on your desk. “Let’s go home. It’s going to be dark soon.”
And as he walks behind you, watching your back as you cross the room, something turns in his mind. There’s a sense of urgency, the kind that he’s not constantly chasing, the kind that is too important to miss. So before you have the chance to reach for the doorknob and walk away, he tugs at your wrist to stop you.
For you, it’s a quick succession of blurred actions, and you find your back pressed against the wall. He’s right in front of you, the tips of his indoor slippers touching yours, and you can feel his breath on your skin. Yours is caught in your throat at the sight of his arresting eye, staring at you with formidable intensity. He’s so close.
Your lips open, and you think you’re going to say something, but your voice fails you.
“You know that thing you told me earlier?” His voice is a rasp, low and secretive, even though it’s just the two of you in a room lit by a setting sun. He senses your silent question.
“You told me that maybe it’s time for me to take things seriously.”
You can’t bring yourself to reply—your wit abandons you, and you fear that any attempt to speak is not going to work. Your throat and lips feel dry.
“I guess what I’m trying to say is,” he slips his arm around your waist, “that there’s one thing I haven’t taken seriously.” His grip is the right amount of firm and gentle. Heat creeps up your cheek, and you’d blame it on the glaring orange sun, but he’s too smart for that.
His other hand very cautiously reaches out for your face, and when they make contact you somehow fight the urge to lean your weight against his touch. You know this feeling, but you dare not give a name to it.
“The way you looked at me this morning makes me think that you think I’m a mistake.” He sees you visibly surprised at that. “I want to prove to you that I’m not.”
You gasp when he presses his body against you, the warm concrete wall behind you letting you feel your own pulse. His nose touches yours and your lips are but an inch apart. He’s waiting.
“I’m,” you swallow, voice slightly cracking, “I’ve been… considering the possibilities.”
You see his eyes light up.
“And it wasn’t my intention. Earlier, I mean. To make you feel like I’m disappointed in you. It—It’s just something I blurted out.”
His arm around your waist settles you in his grip. He’s getting impatient.
“Let me prove it anyways.”
You can only nod.
He sighs, moving to your jaw to plant a preemptive kiss on your skin, and you shudder when he whispers against it.
“I never noticed how badly I wanted to kiss you.”
Then, with precision and ease, he tilts his head, pressing his lips against your slightly open ones in a deep kiss that knocks your breath away. You instinctively grab his uniform shirt for solace, not trusting that your knees are able to support you. But he’s so snug against you there’s no way you’re going to fall—he’s pursuing you, kiss after kiss, the exchange a series of giving and receiving. You let out a sigh of his name—Masamune, not the usual “Date-kun”—and he feels like he’s losing his mind. His other hand now ventures to the back of your head, pulling you impossibly closer to him. You take turns nipping and tugging at each other’s lips, yours more coquettish to his boldness.
“Ngh, ah,” you moan as he slips his tongue in your mouth, just as you think it’s not going to feel any better. There’s a warmth between your legs, one that he anticipates and encourages, because he has his knee there, letting you rest against it. You feel pleasurably faint.
He lets out a guttural noise when he pulls his lips away from yours, as if reluctant to trade the taste of you for air. You hear your heartbeat pounding in your ears and his heavy breaths mingled in with yours.
He catches you licking your lips, now rosy, glistening, and absolutely swollen, and it’s like he crumbles all over again.
“One more,” he sighs, “do you allow it?”
“Yes,” you reply as breathless as he, and he wastes no time kissing you. His lips are noticably more gentle, his tongue taking the time to map you out, his teeth dragging slowly across your lips leisurely. You’re melting against him, powerless against his wiles, and he welcomes it, letting you grip his collar to bring him closer.
He breathes your name against your mouth and you let out a small whimper—it sounds like music to your ears in a way that you don’t know you needed.
In the waning sunlight, the two of you share one, two, three more kisses in an empty student council office, with him boldly venturing new grounds: your jaw and throat, the skin underneath your school uniform. His knee between your legs, the sensation that he leaves after pulling away from what surely will become a love bite. By the end of it, the two of you are disheveled and the sky is half-indigo. For a moment, nobody says a thing for fear of breaking the spell.
“Let me walk you home,” he finally says, and you’re delighted to find that the spell isn’t broken.

Epilogue Demon King, Working Hard
The day after everyone gathered, Maou went to knock on Ignora’s door, saying that it was about time she came out, the world would probably forgive her. Ignora replied, saying what is the use of you saying this now, it’s good for you, everyone would love you, everyone will forgive you, but I…… Maou said, stop with nonsense, since when was I forgiven. The people you have seen had various experiences before meeting you, we are the same as you. Therefore, if you want to, you can walk out. Regardless of which environment you’re in, as long as there is still someone who is willing to help you, you will be able to walk out of this. Ignora did not respond anymore, so Maou went to room 203. On room 203, the sign, Maou Pte Ltd, was hung there. Emi and Chiho were around, Maou and Emi discussed some things about the operations of the store, and as they discussed, they started arguing because of a difference in opinion, Chiho helped to brew tea for them as she was listening, thinking that an arguing Maou and Emi was what matched her impressions of them, but she still found an excuse to leave. Maou quickly followed her and Chiho said that Emerada lost her temper at her, blaming me for not watching you properly and still allowed Emi to form a connection with you in the end, but I was working hard for all of you and the Sephirah children, yeah.
Flashback to after Maou was stabbed by Emi, Chiho realised that Maou did not die, Emi said that with the current situation, how can I use Alas=Ramus to kill her father, this is for the sake of getting rid of the “Demon King” who everyone fears, and it is a method which Alsiel can accept. The landlady and Amane investigated this before, Kamael, who was stabbed had completely lost the immortality factor, Maou will revert to human now. He was originally a demon who could live for a few thousand years, letting him turn into a human who can only live for tens of years, it was almost equal to a death sentence, and he does not have any fighting ability either. As Emi spoke, she gestured for Chiho to come over, saying that this “person” is who you like the most, someone you love so deeply that you are willing to save a faraway land because of him. And Chiho, with things as they are now, there is no need to think about me and Alas=Ramus, you will not be stopped by this kind of thing. Of course, about Alas=Ramus, I will still want him to responsible for her until the end, but do not use this as an excuse, just treat as one of the factors for making the decision. After saying this, she left.
Maou said, hey Chi-chan, ah no Chiho, even though many things have happened, I can finally reply you. Even though I am not a demon now, even though I can only use the power of a human man to protect you, if you this is fine as well…… I, am not that brave, I started to make an empty show of strength since a long time ago, a coward who is always lying. So…… Chiho said, the person I like is not only a demon, but also a human, only having two names Satan and Maou Sadao, the best person in this world. Maou said that since she said this much, then I can only fulfil the other agreement, this is the last reward I am giving you as Demon King. Then he kissed her.
Back to the current timeline at the apartment, Chiho was it was fine, because at that time, you only had me in your eyes, you chose me as your partner, so I want to be your number one. I will not give this position of number one to anyone, but I do not wish to snatch Alas=Ramus’ Papa away, her mother is the Hero and her Papa is you, I will not compromise on this as well, since we have worked so hard after all, it is fine to be a little selfish/stubborn. Then the current structure of Maou’s company was introduced. Maou is the boss, Emi is the major shareholder, shop manager is Akiko, external observer Kawada, part timers Kaori and Yoshiya, Kisaki and Sariel are regular customers. Chiho would occasionally be the mediator in the meetings between Maou and Emi, and would help out occasionally, cooking for them occasionally. Chiho said I hope that you, Yusa-san and everything can be happy together, and always be selfish, therefore Emerada will also accept it sooner or later. Currently, Emerada is periodically giving Emi a Hero annuity from the national treasury, using the excuse of exchanging currency to come over to play a few times per year. Emi forced Maou to open the company, saying that she already said in vol 1 that he will live on Earth his whole life, there is no future for you working part-time in MgRonalds, you have to marry in future, where are you supposed to save money? Therefore, she used the money Emerada gave her to invest and open the company.
Then Chiho suddenly said, even though I have never thoroughly confirmed this before, and this should not be said by me, but Yusa-san likes you, you know (in the current time). Maou was shocked, but having dated Chiho for three years, he was more or less more sensitive about the matters between guys and girls, thinking about the day he was kissed by Emi. Chiho watched this, and said with things as they are now, I cannot imagine the image of Yusa-san living happily with a man I do not know, you family of tree will definitely be happy. Maou said, are you okay with this. Chiho said she was completely fine, but even if I say this, only Utsushihara who can read minds can believe me. But I think I should still lay things out clearly, because you are Demon King-sama who is being depended on by others and working hard. In response, I will not give anyway the number one (first wife) position, as long as you can guarantee this, you can be like a Demon King, marrying as many wives you want. But Maou said that he gathered his determination and made his choice, and just having her was enough to fill up his time and use up his money, how can I consider other people. Chiho said that he should still consider, he is still Alas=Ramus’ guardian and she will be studying in Japan. Maou said, then he could only work hard.
As they chatted, Maou suddenly received a message, saying that his card did not have any money. What he spent on was the costs of the business, child-rearing fees, daily necessities and so on. Chiho asked if he should plan better when spending money, Maou said, are you asking me to delay the child-rearing fees! At this moment, Ashiya entered and suggested instalments like in volume 1. Once again, Maou said that he did not like to have debts. At this moment, Ashiya is already the leader of the demons staying in Ente Isla, and even replaced the Unifying Azure Emperor in ruling the whole of Afsahan, but he still addressed Maou as Demon King. Ashiya said, with a financial mentality like you, how are you supposed to save money. Sasaki-san is about to graduate, do you have a plan.
Then Emi heard them argue and came out to take a look. Currently she is addressing Maou as Sadao.
Then everyone came out one by one to see what was going on. Emi is in Room 203.
Alas=Ramus is in Room 101, Lucifer and Suzuno are in Room 201
Chiho saw that everyone was staying at one apartment like she wished and smiled, feeling very fortunate. Then she called out to Maou, saying Sadao-san, it’s fine, I will earn money as well. Maou was rebuked by everyone once again, saying that he could not depend on Chiho. Maou was in a very pathetic state, then Akiko called and said there was some problem in the store, and he ran away under everyone’s rebukes, getting onto Dullahan II (by the way, the name Magurobatogou was given by Alas=Ramus) and left. Chiho watched his back, mumbling to herself “Do your best. Everyone is here and waiting for you to return. Be careful on your way there. For the sake of everyone’s happiness. Our, hardworking Demon King-sama.”
THE END. Then the final group picture illustration

3-Her Start
The weekend you spent with your best friend was full of good memories and laughter. You recovered your self-trust and conviction to keep going. But as blissful as it was it quickly came to an end. Before you knew it, it was Monday again, which means school, fortunately, this was the last week before graduation, even if you mom forced you to go to that insipid private academy in Tokyo, you'll keep chasing your aspirations no matter what. It was still I little bit cold but the weather was slowly changing as the spring got closer. Over your school uniform, you were wearing the school uniform’s coat that had their logo embroidered and your fluffy (f/c) scarf to keep you warm on your way to the school door.
In the blink of an eye, you and Momo already got to the shoe lockers to change into your respective uwabaki.* While changing your shoes a thought came to your mind, you wanted to touch the matter but didn't know how without making things awkward. "Hey Momo, your test, for the recommended students, you already had it right?"
A little taken aback by your comment Momo hesitated a little before answering unsure. "Y-Yeah, that's correct, I wasn't sure if I could tell you, you know..."
"Please don't feel bad about sharing your successes with me, I would be more than happy to hear how it went for you, you're my friend and I feel happy that you're one step closer to your dream, after all, you also want to be a hero, just like me. You were nice enough to spend the last weekend with me to make me feel better I didn't even ask you once how was it for you, I'm a pampered brat, aren’t I?"
Momo smiled sweetly at you in understanding. "What about if I fill you out on the details of my day at U.A during lunch?"
"Sounds like a plan."
🍱🍱🍱
"Alright ladies this is all for today, there are another 5 minutes before the bell rings. So, you're allowed to socialize in the meantime, please let's keep things calm and low volume please."
"Hey, Momo!~ I've got an idea! They are showing a really good movie right now! Do you want to see it with me?"
"I'll love to, but my mother requested my presence at home as soon as school is finished, my chauffeur is already waiting for me outside, so, unfortunately, I see myself unable to go. But aren't you still grounded?"
"Oh, right, I forgot it..." You puffed off your cheeks in annoyance.
Just in cue, a small vibration came from your skirt pocket adverting you of an incoming message.
'Oh, is Nobu-san, I wonder what happened?'
Good afternoon (Y/N)-sama, I wanted to notify you beforehand that this morning you received two letters; one of them is from the Tokyo's Science Academy, probably respecting your upcoming enrollment.
'Ugh, of course...'
Regarding the second letter, the U.A’s crew is way competent and faster than we thought, I made sure to put the envelope under one of your bed pillows, please make sure to check it out as soon as you arrive home so Xiù-sama won't notice it. I already sent the chauffeur to pick you up as soon as possible.
"."
".."
"..."
"...."
"....."
"WhAaAt?!"
"(L/N)-san! I strongly urge you to refrain from shouting in class!"
"S-sorry, Tanaka-sensei" The slight giggles of your classmates could be heard, but it was short-lived thanks to the shrill sound of the school bell announcing the end of the school day.
"(Y/N) are you ok? You look a bit pale. Something happened at home?" Momo asked, but unfortunately for your friend the last of your worries was explain yourself. Without giving it too much of a thought you took your school bag and burst out the class."SorryMomonotimetoexplainseeyoutomorrowbyeeee!!"
Before she could even understand what you just said, Momo couldn't do anything more than see you disappear among the crowd flooding the halls.
"What in heaven just happened?"
🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️💨
After sprinting to the school gate, you could spot in the distance a black limo, Sasaki-san, the same chauffeur that brought your mom to U.A that fateful afternoon one week ago, was waiting outside the car, straight as a lamppost with a serious almost bored look on his face. After you finally approached him, he lightly bowed his head and greeted you. "Good afternoon, (Y/N)-sama, I hope you had a pleasant day" His tome was monotone and robotic, almost like he just repeated a script that had learned out of habit at this point. "Good afternoon Sasaki-san, I did thank you, and yourself?"
“Lovely indeed” he said almost sarcastically and opened the car's door for you. You quickly made your way in and he closed the door behind you.
Lost in your thoughts time passed faster than you imagined. Before you could notice a glimpse of your house appeared among the trees. The imposing structure made its way through the vast gardens that adorned its surroundings.
You wanted to just get there and finally get the closure you needed about this whole situation, leave your guilt and disappointment behind so you could start over again and move forward to your goal in a more positive note. Up to your room was a blur, you think that maybe a couple of maids greeted you on your way but you were too busy to notice or care, did you even take your shoes off at the genkan*? Who knows, who cares.
You opened your door desperately, closing and locking it to avoid being interrupted. Fixing your eyes on the exact place your fate laid made your heart race like never before, you started walking there slowly, almost cautiously, to sprint with all your might, throwing yourself at the bed and tossing the soft obstacles in your way to find in the middle, a crisp white envelope with a red wax seal, with the iconic logo printed on it. Dread and uncertainty invaded you, were you ready for this? What if they think you were not hero material after all? ‘No! let's just rip the bandit off at once and get over this already’. With a surge of newfound courage, you opened the envelope, tearing the seal apart in the process. Once it was open you could find a letter and a round metal object inside, you took it in your hand to analyze it closer but suddenly a bright light was shooted from its center, startling you and letting it fall obstreperously on the floor.
"Ahhh!"
The light then elongated and shaped itself into some kind of screen, showing what looks to be some kind of small white animal. "Greetings, young lady! My name is Nezu, the one who could be a mouse or a dog or a bear but the only important thing is...I'm the Principal!"
"T-The Principal?!"
"Very well then, I assume that you would prefer me to go right to the point, you must be anxious right now" You gulped nervously and nodded your head as he could see you. "In your written exam you got an outstanding score of 87! Well done!"
'At least I did something right' You thought melancholically.
"But..."
'Here it comes'
"...Unfortunately, you weren't that successful during your practical exam, in the end, you only earned 31 points, that, as you must know, is not enough to approve this test, since the minimal score is 45"
'I knew it...'
Your vision started to get blurred due to the fat tears that started to accumulate in your eyes. You knew this would happen, but that didn't make it less frustrating.
“However, there’s something that especially caught my attention, and although I’m not a doctor or any medicine specialist by any means I noticed you looked a little off, sick perhaps.Your movements looked sluggish, your breathing seem even more labored than it would have been in the situation you were in not to mention you passed out in the middle of the exam.”
“You’ll see, here at U.A we take special care of the whole process involved in our admission trials, not only to make sure that every single step is performed correctly, the rules are followed and the safety measures compiled but also to prevent the usual improper practices like fraud and cheating, reason why we had installed thousands of cameras with the propose to keep a close eye on all of you.”
'Wow, U.A really goes over the top about everything' You sweatdropped.
"That's the reason why after analyzing your performance carefully, the teaching staff and myself were awed when we notice that indeed you were straining yourself and even managed to save one of the applicants of the attack of a three-pointer, with the last of your strength you pushed him far away from danger knowing the little time you had and your deteriorated condition, you sacrificed yourself for the wellbeing of a stranger, without hesitation"
"Save? But I thought I could do anything at all!-"
"There's a phrase that says that we rise by lifting others, thanks to your selfless help, this young man you saved could complete his test and also had the time and strength enough to get your back after you blacked out. He was also nice enough to handle you to Recovery Girl's capable hands. As you could see, you received some extra points in your final score, these were Rescue Points, a panel of judges conformed by the teachers watch closely these battles and award this kind of heroic gestures, which boosted your original score of 14 points."
"And is because of your heroic spirit that I'm here, in front of you, to make you an offer.” Your breathing hitched, your eyes opened like saucers and you could swear that your heart stopped for a second.
“We of course never do this kind of exceptions, a once in a lifetime opportunity per se, but I, the Principal, had decided to give you a chance to start again, it may be more competitive than the first test you took but, what is the life of a hero without a good challenge?"
"A-A second chance?!" Your teary eyes widened at this revelation. Was U.A, the U.A High School, not only seeing the potential in you but also wanting to give you another chance?!
'This is so crazy!' You thought tearing up.
"Usually some students, as a precautionary measure apply for both the Hero Course and the General Studies Course, in case they fail to get in the first one, if they meet the necessary requirements could hit a spot in the latter one, with the hopes of competing internally for one of the coveted positions in our prestigious Heroism Department...."
"God! What I didn't think of that?! Like a security net that will catch you in case you fall, clever..." You pondered
"As you well know you did not opt for this, but we had decided unanimously to make a space for you in the General Studies Course as your second chance and a fresh start here, at U.A."
"As I mentioned before, the competition is more ferocious internally because of the really small quantity positions, sometimes there's only one transferred student or not transfers at all, so you must work hard because you need at least 85% of approval from the teachers to get into the Hero course."
"So, I need to make merits to get in, I wonder how though-"
"You must be wondering, how to get that approval and enter the world of your dreamed career?!  Let me enlighten you then! There are several ways to do this but the most common and effective is..."
"...Is?!"
"Is...!"
"The U.A Sports Festival! The annual competition that Japan is so crazy about that forgot about the Olympic Games and where everybody can take a look at the future and witness the rising of their future heroes! And of course the perfect place for you to show what you're made of! The U.A Sports Festival not only is a great chance for the Hero Course pupils to show their abilities, but for the ones who were left behind, that they also have a lot to offer, and a chance that I'm sure you won't waste at all."
"I won't!"
"So please, let us know what you think, We already see inmense potential on you, we think-no, we believe that you will not disappoint. All the important information, forms and consent letters are attached and listed inside the envelope, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us at our website www.uahigh.com.jp/newstudentexperience to chat live with one of our representatives or call us at 1-800-UAHIGHJ (1-800-824-4445) or drop by at our headquarters in U.A. Remember that the due date to send the forms with your parents' authorization and uniform measurements and specifications is March 25th!"
"Oh my God, I got in... I GOT IN!!! Yes, I did it!" You then started to jump on your bed carried by the excitement, then a little detail crossed your mind. "Crap! My mom would never sign the authorization form! She'll rather take off her own eyes than do that! I don't want to involve dad in this, he's been receiving mom's colder shoulder lately and he looks kinda depressed, just remember the fight hey had that night give me the hives. What can I do? How can I-"
"This device will self-destruct in 10 seconds!"
"...What."
"10!"
"9!"
"Oh God, Oh God No! WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!"
"8!"
As best as you could you quickly jumped off your bed and hid inside your walk-in closet closing and locking the door behind you. "Was it that necessary to make it explode?!" You closed your eyes and covered your ears as waiting for some kind of impact.
"4!"
"3!"
"2!"
"1!"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Just kidding! HAHAHAHAHA!!!"
"..."
"WHAAAAT?!"
"Excuse me (Y/N)-sama? Are you ok?" One of the maids asked while knocking your door. You ran out of the closet and threw all evidence of your recent conversation with the fury Principal under your bed.
"Y-Yes! I'm fine! P-Perfectly fine!"
"I heard some screams and voices inside; do you have any guest? Do you want me to bring some refreshments?" Immediately you opened the door and were faced with the maid that you liked the least, she was a middle-aged woman who always drove herself in a hypocritical and double-face kind of way.
You could see from pretty far away that she didn't like you the least, looking her in the eyes was enough to know, the resentment and indifference were palpable. For her, you were nothing more than a spoiled filthy rich brat and that was more than enough to hate you. She also was a notable gossipmonger and was of general knowledge among the service crew that she could not keep a secret for dear life, which your mother took advantage of to monitor you and the house in general when she was absent. All in exchange of a juicy bonus in her weekly check.
"There's nobody with me Uwasaki-san, I was watching some YouTube videos, and an ad came out, a really loud one." You opened your door a little more to show her, she peeked into your room a little to look closer, everything was in order, except for the dropped pillows and a panda plush, it was just like you said, all she could find was a flat screen with a paused video showing in it.
She gave you a skeptical look first before convincing herself you were saying the truth and gave you one of her infamous fake smiles. "I see, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to let me know, I'll be close by fixing one of the guest's rooms."
"Oh, who's coming?" You asked, half trying to diffuse the awkwardness, half out of truly curiosity.
"Kaguya-sama, she asked Xiù-sama for advice in one of her university projects, Chemistry I think"
'It makes sense, with the kind of quirk she has, chemistry was always one of her strengths'
"I see."
"Alright, if you excuse me, I'll be taking my leaving."
After this, she turned and walk in the direction of the guest's rooms mumbling complains about how slow this day has been so far, with nothing interesting to report, not juicy scandal to uncover and how she hoped that the rest of the week could deliver something better. As you heard her steps get lost in the immensity of the hallway, checking she was gone for sure, you closed your door leaning your back on it while you slowly slide to the floor.
'That was close!, I've never been happier to forget to turn the tv off before going to school, I must be careful, I have to find a way to convince them to let me go, after the second chance I received, I can't back up, I don't want to. It's decided then! I’ll go to U.A no matter what.'
"Hmm... So, U.A? Maybe get you out of my way would be easier than I thought, dear cousin."

*Uwabaki (上履き): They are a type of Japanese shoes worn indoors at home, school or certain companies and public buildings where street shoes are prohibited.
*Genkan (玄関): are traditional areas for houses, apartments or buildings. It is usually located inside the building directly in front of the door. The primary function of the genkan is to leave your shoes before entering the main part of a house or building.
-The word 'Uwasa' (噂) means gossip combined with the kanji 'Ki' (機) or machine forms the word Rumor or Gossip Machine (噂機) Uwasaki.
-I'm learning Japanese on my own, so I thought it could be interesting and fun to try to construct some (Last)names inspired in the oc’s quirks and personality just like Horikoshi does. As I said I'm a beginner and all the feedback is welcome! If you have suggestions or corrections let me know! I'm open to learning! 😊

Mirai Sasaki x Pregnant!Reader
AN: Why did I write this?
Because I can
Also, because I love Sir Nighteye with all my heart and we only got to hear his voice for less than 10 episodes before he kicked the bucket.
*cries*
Contains: The death of Sir Nighteye (cries more aggressively), mega angst, lots of sadness, graphics? idk… i mean the guy was stabbed in the stomach with a giant spike…
Summary: Do I really need one? Sir Nighteye (aka Mirai Sasaki) dies.
Tumblr media
Being 6 months pregnant was no easy feat, especially with an extremely worrisome and overprotective husband.
He called you at least twice a day while you sat around at home to make sure you were ok, eating, and didn’t need anything. If you forgot to close/lock a door or window he would reprimand you for being careless. And when he was home, at least one of his hands was somewhere on your body.
He was very sweet and brought you flowers and chocolate for no reason, took you out to extravagant and expensive places to eat, and (though society might never believe it), he loved to cuddle.
It was very late, around 11 o’clock and you couldn’t sleep because the baby kept kicking you in the gut.
Mirai had his arms around you and his head on your shoulder.
He was awake too.
Suddenly his phone buzzed.
Pulling one hand away from your swollen stomach, he reached over and grabbed the glowing piece of metal.
He read the message, sighed, and got out of bed.
“Mirai… come back!” You begged, rolling over.
“I have to go, I’m sorry.” He replied, cupping your cheek and kissing your forehead.
“Where?” You asked, clutching his hand.
“We’re going into the Shie Hissaikai base tomorrow. I was asked to help prepare. We might have new intel too. C’mon. Let go of me.”
He pulled his hand away.
“I don’t exactly want to leave, especially when the baby is acting up, but we’ve been working on this case for quite a while. I’ll see you soon Y/n. Goodnight.”
He straightened his tie in the mirror and left the room.
Something didn’t feel right.
You wanted to call out to him, tell him he shouldn’t go, tell him you didn’t feel good to push him into overprotective-almost-dad mode and stay by your side.
But you didn’t.
Oh, how you regretted it.
You woke up the next day at about 8:30.
There was a horrible sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach as you stood up, stretched, and ate breakfast.
After eating, you sat on the couch.
The TV remote was on the table in front of you.
Too far away.
Not worth it.
You looked outside at the city below, feeling like a caged animal.
There was nothing to do.
Was your husband ok?
Who was he with?
Had they saved that little girl yet?
Was anyone injured?
Those thoughts continued to plague your mind until, several painfully long hours later, you received a phone call.
You eagerly picked it up, thinking it was a call from your doting husband, but you were wrong.
It was Shota Aizawa, a pro hero who had been working with Sir Nighteye on the Shie Hissaikai case.
You answered the phone with a shaky, “H-Hello?”
“Is this Y/n Sasaki?”
“Yes, it is. Is something wrong?” You knitted your eyebrows together, hoping, no, praying Nighteye, Mirio, Bubble Girl, and everyone else was fine.
“Unfortunately, yes. Your husband sustained critical damage during the fight and his chances of survival are extremely low.” He paused, “A car is coming to pick you up. He wants to say goodbye.”
You fell into a chair.
“I’ll… I’ll be waiting.” You whispered and hung up.
You shakily set our phone aside.
Critical damage? What does that mean? Where? Goodbye? Wait, NO! He can’t die! H-Hold on… no, he’ll be ok, right? He’s a fighter! Plus I bet Aizawa was making it sound worse than it really is. It’ll be fine. Everything’s fine.
You took a deep breath and went to your room, changed, made yourself look at least a little presentable, grabbed a coat and purse and took the elevator down to the lobby.
There you stayed until a car pulled up.
Bubble Girl poked he head out and beckoned you outside.
She seemed really upset too.
He held her arms out to give you a hug, but she was visibly shaking.
She helped you into the car and you, Bubble girl, Centipeder, All Might and Recovery Girl went to the university hospital where everyone was.
You arrived at the doors about ten minutes later and soon the group was on the way up the elevator.
The doors opened to a slouching dark-haired man standing next to a green-haired boy in a beat-up, green hero costume.
“Recovery Girl! All Might…!” The boy exclaimed, “Why’re you-”
“I called him here. Because…” Bubble Girl’s eyes filled with tears, “Sir, he… to him, All Might was always…”
She wiped away her tears and held back her sobs.
Centipeder put a hand on her shoulder comfortingly and offered her a tissue.
Then, you made your way to Nighteye’s hospital room.
All you could do was stare in shock at your husband’s body.
Tubes of every size, shape, and color protruded from his middle like a horrible mutant plant or something. Each of those was connected to a machine.
He was missing an arm.
You didn’t realize it at first, but you had become a human waterfall; tears poured from your eyes and showed no sign of stopping.
“There was nothing we could really do… Honestly, it’s a miracle he’s even breathing at all.” A blonde, masked doctor said sadly.
“My healing won’t be able to help at this point either…” Recovery Girl said regretfully, staring at her feet. “Sadly… He won’t make it… to see tomorrow…”
The pitchy beeps from the heart rate machine droned in your ears.
Nighteye’s patchy breaths made your heart clench.
He couldn’t be saved.
“Nighteye!” Gasped All Might.
His yellow eyes opened slightly.
“All… M-Might…” He rasped, “You didn’t feel like coming to see me… until I was dying…?”
“I don’t know what to say… how I… wronged you…”
“Nighteye! You gotta live! Hang in there!” The greed-haired boy begged, his own eyes brimming up.
“No need… to be so uptight… I… I never… held anything against you… I just… always… wished for your happiness… that’s all… If you’ve… decided to fight against fate… that’s fine… in my book…”
“You need to fight too! Give me a chance to atone for what I’ve done!”
“Atone? I’m the one… who’s caused trouble… for so many… All this time… I wanted… to keep you from getting killed… I searched for a way to change things… all this time… But nothing came of it… There was nothing… I could do… to change the future. But… Midoriya showed me something today… I… could never… clear my head of those thoughts… “Can’t change it.” “Nothing will change.” That negativity… was always in the back of my mind. But within thoughts… is a sort of energy… I believe that now. Energy from striving for a certain future… when one doesn’t allow for doubt… A vision that strong… energy… from wishing. It wasn’t just Midoriya… everyone… came together… and believed so strongly in that future. What we saw happen today… was… perhaps… the result of all that energy centered on Midoriya… The future is uncertain… you’ve changed my thinking… and that’s enough… for me. My… one regret… is…”
He raised his hand and moved his yellow eyes to your shaking form.
“I will never… get to see… my… child. I can’t… protect… you anymore Y/n… I’m sorry.”
Then came a shout; “WAIT! MR. TOGATA!”
The door swung open and hit the wall with a loud BANG.
A tall blonde boy burst into the room.
“SIR NIGHTEYE!”
“You mustn’t be about!” Strained the nurse, tugging on Mirio’s shirt.
“Mirio…”
Nighteye turned his gaze from you to his illegitimate son student as he frantically rushed to the side of the bed.
“No! You gotta live! Don’t you die on me!” Mirio cried, clutching the bars surrounding the bed.
Tears dripped from his big blue eyes onto his shirt, making the thin fabric nearly see-through.
“Mirio…” Nighteye repeated, “I’ve put you… through so much hardship… If only I’d… been there for you…”
“I only got stronger cuz of everything you taught me! It’s thanks to you I’ve got the life I do!” He sobbed, wiping his eyes. “You gotta keep teaching me! You can’t die now!!!”
Slowly, painfully, Sir Nighteye raised his hand again to clasp Mirio’s pale, tearstained cheek, and say, “You’ll be ok… You’ll make… a fine hero. That… is one part of the future… that mustn't… be changed… So… keep smiling!”
He smiled up at the three men by his bedside, “A world without smiles and humor… has no bright future…”
The heart monitors’ beeping lessened, and his thin, pale face turned to you.
Your knees were about to give out, you were a total mess of mascara and tears, and the hands that gripped his bed rails were visibly trembling.
You bit your lip and locked eyes with you.
“Y/n. I… I don’t th-think… I ever told… you… how beautiful… you are. Chin up… I love you…”
The beeping slowed to a complete stop.
His golden eyes slid shut as he took his final breath, a look of peace softened his features, and you fell to your knees overcome with immeasurable grief.

I bingewatched all of "Sasaki to Miyano" and!! The waiting... Oh man... The continous shots of a cat were a very nice touch! Also, the one fang Sasaki has... Perfection.
I really, really love the side characters!!! When the Chairman (I forgot his name,,) Was describing what love felt like, and Hirano(?) was at the window and looked out and a guy smiled at him from up there... I'm so into that!! Also, when they were asking if they liked guys, they both were like "No I'm straight unless he's That One" and it's very!!! Very telling of the first boy crush moment.
Love that some others liked guys, and some only liked girls! Diversity win, your BL anime has straights in it. (<- Lightheartedly) Also I absolutely loved Tashiro he's such a sweetheart! I can't spell his name but the glasses guy was!! So into his girlfriend!! It was super sweet, but kind of sad we never got to see her... :( Hospitals are tough.
I'm getting all ramnly but I think my favorite point in the anime (Besides the kiss scene...!) Was the crossdressing competition. They all made Miyano feel so welcome... I love his little friend group so much! And the hug!! Miyano realizing his feelings for Sasaki a bit before he tried to kiss Miyano. Which!! You should never do if you don't know if the other consents so I was very proud of him for apologizing even if Miyano wanted it! Verbal consent is key (And communication!)
Ah! Also I have to watch Doukyuusei again sometime, since I've mostly forgotten how it went... Thank you for recommending me the anime! Absolutely loved every second of it! :] (Sorry this is so long. I like to get all my thoughts down in one go instead of seperate asks.)
this is the Best ask i have ever recieved ever thank you gensrs it's so cute.
IM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT AHHH!!!!!! tashiro might be my favorite side character, maybe, he was just so ..innocent ..and kinda dumb ..it was fun to see. and hard agree on your favorite scene! it was probably mine too. the whole thing surrounding it, sasaki asking miyano to drop out because he knew about his insecurities and was worried he was disregarding his own comfort in favor of being helpful.... miyano, on the other hand, growing into a happier and more comfortable version of himself, thanks to sasaki esentially, and realizing that doing a dumb school thing where he had to dress as a girl wasn't that Big of a deal anymore :( amazing storyline.
and the sense of consent all around was so nice to see too. respecting boundaries is just so hot... ANYWAy thank you for leaving this lovely message, i'm really really glad you liked it!! i haven't had time to check out the movie because im swarmed with essays atm but i swear i'll get back to you over the easter holidays <3 :]

Yuri on Festival voice drama (detailed report)
I went to watch the next-day viewing of yesterday’s Yuri on Festival event, and this time I took notes for the drama so I’ll write a more detailed summary, also because this one isn’t going to be sold on DVD. I believe other people have probably written reports too, but in cases such as this I think “the more the merrier” because it’s not recorded so it’s better to have more accounts. Also, now you’ll start seeing more Japanese reports & art too. Most people were keeping quiet out of consideration for the ones who could only watch the viewing and didn’t want spoilers.
Official title of the drama: “Fundoshi da yo!!! Sekai Metsubou Daipinchi Hasetsu Kunchi Spiritual!!” which roughly translates to “Fundoshi!!! The world is in danger of being destroyed. Hasetsu Kunchi Spiritual!!”
It was in 3 parts, separated by game and information corners. I hope it’s not too confusing, but especially the last part is impossible to summarize decently because they talked a lot and I couldn’t possibly take note of everything, not to mention what they say is mostly crazy stuff, lol. For some parts and lines I double-checked looking at other Japanese comments online. If something is not clear feel free to send me an ask.
Continue under “keep reading”.
The story starts with Yuuri and Victor watching Hasetsu Kunchi, a local festival in Hasetsu, the day after the “Victor With Friends” ice show (and the Chihoko drama). Victor says “Look Yuuri, so many sumo wrestlers!” and Yuuri replies “It’s not sumo wrestlers, they are wearing fundoshi!”. He explains to him that fundoshi + happi (the “coat” they are wearing) are the traditional clothes people wear at the festival, and Victor seems very interested in the fundoshi. Yuuri flinches and says that he has a hangover from the day before, and they have a conversation somewhat like this: Victor: “You were amazing yesterday~. (he says this in a sexy voice and the audience was like “wooohh”) I can’t believe you did that~.” Yuuri: “Did I do something again??” Victor: “Eh, you don’t remember? Last night you…” Yuuri: “No wait, don’t tell me! Some things are better left unknown…” Yuuri seems kind of resigned, like “I messed up after drinking once again.. well, as always..” (he says this in a monologue, not to Victor). Yurio suddenly shows up and is super excited about the hikiyama (the festival floats). He comments that the floats look like the warriors’ cars in Mad Max. Yuuri explains that Hasetsu Kunchi is a harvest festival, and that the floats all have their own story. Victor sees one shaped like a squid, and Yuuri says it’s called “ankoku ika aramitama” (which Yurio translates as something like “dark ika wild heart”) (ika = squid) and it’s based on the legend of a dark squid that tried to destroy the world by spreading dark matter. Yurio is totally thrilled by the story. To placate the squid and save the world from destruction, people sang, danced and flattered the squid a lot. Victor finds the story original and proposes to use it as Yuuri’s new SP, wearing fundoshi as the costume. Yuuri curtly replies that he’d get kicked out for excessive nudity, and that if he had to leave figure skating because of something like that he’d probably want to hide under a rock and die. Yurio comments that “doing the squid dance in fundoshi” is exactly what Yuuri, together with his father, did the night before, and Yuuri says “ok, I want to hide under a rock and die” (he says “人間やめたい” in Japanese, that literally translates to “I want to quit being a human”, but the meaning is the same as “hide under a rock and die”).
The scene moves to Chris, who is enjoying the festival too. He notices people wearing fundoshi and says “oh, that’s the Japanese traditional T-back (thong)” (he says exactly that, in English). He wants to try it on, so he asks one of those people but mistakes the sentence in Japanese and ends up saying “I want to become your fundoshi”, of course shocking the guy. He then manages to convey the message using a Hasetsu guide that he got at Yutopia and finally gets to try the fundoshi. He comments that the fundoshi feels like “freedom and danger mixed together” and he likes it. In the end they also invite him to ride one of the floats.
Back to Yuuri and Victor, who have lost sight of Yurio. Yuuri explains to Victor that the floats are 14, though they were originally 15 but one suddenly disappeared. This 15th float represented “Ame-no-chihoko-nushinokami” and of course Victor reacts to the word “chihoko”. Yuuri (who is clueless regarding the “chihoko” issue) says that it’s a god of crops, relationships and basically like a god of love. Victor asks whether it’s a goddess and Yuuri replies that it’s a genderless god that was said to bring love to people. No one knows why it disappeared, some say that it might have burnt down and some that it was killed by the ankoku ika (the dark squid), but it’s also said that it will appear again when the world is filled with love.
They are interrupted by some floats coming their way, and they notice that Chris is riding one of them (it was funny how Victor said “oh, it has some familiar eros as a topping”). He jumps down (with a triple Salchow) and asks them how he looks in the fundoshi. Yuuri says that he stands out because he’s the only one who clearly has an athlete’s body. Chris wants to use it for his next program, but Yuuri once again says that he’d get a huge point deduction, so Chris proposes to use it for an exhibition program together with Victor. He wants to “make the rink wet with our fundoshi bomb” (I believe it’s a reference to Plushenko’s “Sex Bomb”) and Yuuri strongly opposes saying “You can’t do that, the rink’s not gonna get wet, it’s gonna become like the Genkai Sea!!!” (it’s a sea in Kyushu, in front of the Karatsu bay). They then have this conversation: Victor: “Yuuri, we want to try the Hasetsu Kunchi look too, right?” Yuuri: “’We’?” Victor: “It’s a pity to only watch. A festival must be enjoyed by participating!” Yuuri: “Ehh…” (clearly annoyed) Victor: “Yuu~ri~” Yuuri: “Don’t make that cute face Victor, it won’t work. I said I feel sick because of the hangover, didn’t I?” And then Victor and Chris start chanting “en~ya~” “en~ya” (it’s a call the participants say during this festival) one after the other, over and over, changing the tone midway, with Yuuri repeating “no way” “I’m NOT doing it” “I’m not wearing that” “you’re not gonna convince me even if you change the tone” “I said NO” and then the drama fades out. (Of course it’s obvious that it was bound to be “famous last words”)
The second part starts with Georgi who seems to like the atmosphere of the festival and wants to incorporate it in his program for the next season. He then starts composing some “haiku” because he got interested after Yuuri’s mom told him about them. He also mentions Yuuri & his father’s squid dance, says that he wants to thank the Katsuki family for entertaining him during his stay in Hasetsu and takes note of the names of Yuuri’s parents on his notebook. He then receives a phone call from Yakov (we do not hear Yakov’s voice), who is calling him because he can’t reach Yurio. Yakov asks him to tell Yurio to get him a heated “washlet” (the Japanese toilet seat with incorporated “shower” function) from the local department store of electric appliances Best Denki if he passes by Fukuoka on his way back to Russia. While taking notes, he is worried that he might mix up “Yuri” and “Yuuri” so he writes “Yurio” instead because that’s how Victor was calling him (I’m sure Yurio will love Victor for this..). He suddenly happens upon Yurio and at this point we find out that Georgi is actually wearing a fundoshi too. Yurio is running away from the Yuri Angels. Georgi tells him that if he wants to hide he should wear a fundoshi, because “as leaves can easily hide in a forest, you can hide among fundoshi with a fundoshi”. Georgi then leaves after Yurio calls him “old man”, but he notices that Yurio is stalking him. When he confronts him about this in the beginning Yurio tries to feign ignorance, but eventually confesses that he lost sight of the others and can’t find his way back (here the audience went “awwww”). The scene ends with Georgi creating a haiku where he calls Yurio “lost kitten” and Yurio gets mad.
Leo and Guang-Hong are watching the festival together. Leo says that he is considering creating a “wa-pro” (a figure skating program with a Japanese theme) for the upcoming season. He said that he was deeply influenced by Carolina Kostner’s 2017 SP programs “God of Thunder” and “Bonzo’s Montreux”, especially the use of drums and other rhythmical sounds combined with her skating technique. Guang-Hong says that he likes Akio Sasaki’s SP program “Japanese Dance No.5” and the ninja-like sound effects/performance. They both say that ninja are cool. Speaking about cool performances that include movements like slashing with a sword they quote Tatsuki Machida’s exhibition program to “Concierto de Aranjuez”. They then conclude mentioning Yuzuru Hanyu’s “Seimei” and Leo says that one day he wants to create a wa-pro that suits his own style. (I am thankful to the skating fans who listed up all the programs mentioned in the drama because I would never have been able to remember them...)
The scene changes to Michele and Emil, who find a fundoshi shop. Emil is fascinated by a very long fundoshi and asks Michele if he ever tried aerial skating (skating performance that involves lifting oneself up with a rope hanging from the ceiling). He said he has tried, and Emil proposes to do an aerial skating exhibition program together in the next season. He then starts saying progressively crazy things like “with the fundoshi we will be able to be free and fly to space!”. He says that, once in space, they will battle an enemy army and fuse together with the power of fundoshi. Since Michele doesn’t seem thrilled Emil says that if he doesn’t want to do it he will ask Sara, and of course he gets mad. Leo and Guang-Hong join them and get all hyper looking at the fundoshi too. Guang-Hong says that he wants to use the fundoshi to train to become a ninja, because of something he read on the Hasetsu guide he got from Yuuri’s house. Emil is like “we can’t do something so stupid” (the one who was talking about flying to space..) but Michele is actually interested in becoming a ninja because apparently Sara used to love ninja when she was little.
Third part. Yuuri, Victor and Chris are now in “Hasetsu Kunchi style” (fundoshi + happi). Victor: “Yuuri, how do I look in the Hasetsu Kunchi style?” Yuuri: (annoyed) “It looks great, of course. Both you and Chris have a nice athlete’s body even now in the off-season, of course it looks good on you.” Victor: (evidently making fun of him) “Oh Yuuri, I know we’re in the off-season, but don’t you have a little too much flesh over that fundoshi~?” Yuuri: (more irritated) “Yeah, my belly stands out, doesn’t it?? That’s why I said I didn’t want to do this… Oh, I might try to hide it with the happi”. He also suddenly mentions feeling cold, which might be foreshadowing what happens later in the drama. Yuuri wonders where the others are, and Chris says “I’m going to help” using a Japanese expression that literally translates to “I’m going to strip” (人肌脱ぐ, I can’t come up with a more literal translation that would have a similar nuance right now..), so Victor tells him “if you get more naked than you are now it will be considered a crime in Japan”. Chris starts doing a rotational lift (no one says who is lifting him lol) on the top of the float to act as a beacon so that the others can find them, and they actually do find them.
The first ones to arrive are Georgi and Yurio. Yurio is dressed in Hasetsu Kunchi style too now, and he says it’s because “fundoshi will hide other fundoshi”. Georgi asks what “en~ya~” means and Yuuri says it’s like the Russian “davai”. Georgi takes note. They then spot a few long fundoshi in the distance and realize it’s Guang-Hong, Leo, Emil and Michele. Guang-Hong says “I told you that rotational lift was Chris!”. They explain that they were running because they are training to become ninja for their “wa-pro”, and Yuuri can’t understand how running in a fundoshi could be connected to the wa-pro. Chris points out that Michele didn’t participate in the ice show “Victor With Friends” and Michele says he came because Emil told him he could see something extreme in Japan (he is probably referring to Victor doing the shachihoko pose on the top of Hasetsu castle, because I remember him referring to it as “extreme” in the previous drama too). He says that he was actually in Canada with Sara to prepare their new program but then Sara left him alone to go on a “girls’ trip” with Mila. Yuuri asks about Phichit and Leo says he went to Detroit to prepare his new program with Celestino (they are basically explaining why the skaters who participated in the ice show are not here, though the actual reason is of course that their voice actors couldn’t come to the event). Guang-Hong says that Seung-gil is having his next program choreographed by Kenji-sensei (Kenji Miyamoto). Yuuri comments, almost to himself, “I see, everyone is getting ready for the next season”, and Guang-Hong tells him “why don’t you prepare a wa-pro too, since you’re Japanese?”. The word “Japanese” reminds Yuuri of Minami, and Guang-Hong tells him that he went back to Fukuoka because he has to study for an exam.
Guang-Hong says that Minami wanted to get inspiration from a festival for his program, and Yuuri decides to send him a video he took of Hasetsu Kunchi for him to use as a reference (he also writes “good luck for the exam”). However, Guang-Hong remembers that Minami talked about the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival. Yurio comments that it’s a super cool festival, much bigger and cooler than Hasetsu’s, and that he found out about it at the information desk of Fukuoka airport. He also says that in Fukuoka there is “Best Denki, a very cool shop where you can find all kinds of electric appliances”, and that you cannot find it in Hasetsu. Yuuri mentions (with a sulky tone) a series of places that you can’t find in Hasetsu but only in Fukuoka, because it’s a larger city where people “can follow all their dreams”. Victor tells Yuuri that he should start thinking about his next program too, and you can hear that Yuuri is getting progressively upset about the matter. He says (with a self-deprecating tone) that he feels stupid for acting like a “senpai” and sending Minami a video of Hasetsu Kunchi while he had in mind Yamakasa which is much cooler, and that maybe he (Yuuri) should perform as a clown in his next program. Victor says that in the morning he met Minami in the onsen and he told him very excitedly that he loved Takahito Mura’s program “Shogun” and one day he also wanted to perform a program like that (here Suwabe imitates Minami’s voice and it was hilarious). Yuuri comments that it’s a cool program with which Mura won the Four Continents in 2014 and that he (Yuuri) would never be able to perform such a heroic program. Guang-Hong says that Minami even uploaded a video in which he skated Mura’s “Shogun”, like Yuuri’s video in which he skated “Hanarezu ni Soba ni Ite”.
The atmosphere gets progressively tense as Yuuri is clearly shocked by the fact that Minami looks up to Mura and wants to become like him, because he thought he looked up to himself. The scene where Minami tells Yuuri that he looks up to him is shown on the screen and Yuuri is like “Minami-kun said that he looked up to me, didn’t he???”. (It was amusing how one of the things that contributes to upset Yuuri is that Minami did “kidoku through”, which in messaging programs like LINE means that the other person has read your message but ignored it instead of replying to it). Victor says that Yuuri is starting to “break”, and the others suddenly see the dark squid float getting close. Yuuri starts saying nonsense like “Victor is my inspiration, and I’m Minami-kun’s inspiration, so basically I am to him what Victor is to me, so basically I am Victor. If Mura-kun becomes Minami-kun’s inspiration, it means that Mura-kun will become Victor. Victor Mura Nikiforov Takahito! He said that.. I was his inspiration.. You said it, didn’t you… MINAMIIII”. Guang-Hong sends a video of what’s happening to Phichit, and Yuuri jumps on the dark squid float. He starts exhaling something dark from his mouth and Yurio (who is convinced that Yuuri just drank too much) says “I bet it’s just puke”. Emil replies “But it’s like, swirling in the air. I’ve never seen such extreme puke!!” (Even after this they keep on referring to it as “puke” or “extreme puke” a few times)
Yuuri starts to speak with a low tone, like a villain, and says he is “ankoku ika aramitama” (he also says a few lines that are basically parodies of lines that he actually said in the anime) and he will destroy the world. Michele says he laughs like the final boss of a game, and Yurio comments that sometimes Lilia laughs like that too (roar of laughter from the audience). They try to speak to Yuuri but no matter what they say he replies with a sentence that ends with “I will destroy the world”. Georgi says that what Yuuri is exhaling is “dark matter”, and as soon as he says that Yurio suddenly gets excited (like “OMG DARK MATTER SO COOL”). Georgi says that it comes from disruptive feelings such as jealousy, which attracted “ankoku ika aramitama” and caused it to possess him. He explains that a long time ago a dark squid created a black hole with the dark matter it had inside and tried to destroy the world. He read this on the Hasetsu guide written by Yuuri’s father. He starts talking about the guide itself but Victor stops him and tells him “You can tell us on our flight back, we have to save the little piggy (kobuta-chan) first”.
In the meantime, Michele is about to be sucked into the black hole but is saved by Emil with their fundoshi fusion technique that they wanted to use in the exhibition. Georgi says that, according to the guide, to defeat the squid people sang, danced and flattered it, but Yurio says he’d rather get sucked into the black hole than flatter Yuuri. Yuuri starts making painful noises and they realize that the festival song which is now playing is affecting the squid. They want to sing but don’t know the lyrics of the song, so they decide to use the “poems” written on Georgi’s notebook (which are mostly the random notes he has been taking so far, like the names of Yuuri’s parents etc) (EDIT: You can now find a full translation of the "lyrics” here!).
They sing and then encourage the audience to chant “davai~ davai~” together with them. Yuuri wavers between the squid and himself, and Victor tells him to remember his dream, to remember Victor’s first arrival in Hasetsu and the time he, Yuuri and Yurio spent together there. “Yuri on Ice” starts playing over scenes from the first episodes, and Victor recalls their memories in Hasetsu, among which the scene where they talked on the beach. He says that he was very happy when he asked Yuuri what he wanted their relationship to be and Yuuri told him to “just be Victor”. Victor: “Remember your skating. Figure skating. All the people who support you. Me and you. What is there?” Yuuri: “Love” Victor: “Yes,” Victor & Yuuri together: “Love”. The dark matter starts to shine and they realize that darkness vanished from Yuuri’s heart. Suddenly, the float of “Ame-no-chihoko-nushinokami”, the god of love, appears. Georgi says that it appears when the world is filled with love, and that this is another thing he read on the Hasetsu guide.
Yuuri is finally back to himself. Victor grumbles “So this is Chihoko..”. Yuuri notices the float and exclaims: “Why is the ame-no-chihoko-nushinokami” float here!?”. Victor: “It’s love” Yuuri: “L-Love..?” Chris: “So Victor is the one who makes Yuuri go crazy and also that brings him to his senses. I’m jealous~”. (The audience here was “woooohhh”) At this point Georgi remembers to tell Yurio that Yakov wants him to buy a heated washlet from Best Denki. And Guang-Hong says that Phichit wrote on his SNS “my friend is a human again!” (parody of the line “my friend got married!”). Yuuri receives a reply to his message from Minami, where he says “Hasetsu Kunchi looks cool! I need to do my best to become like Yuuri-kun”, so Yuuri is all happy. The drama ends with Victor saying “The festival can’t start without you, Yuuri. Hasetsu’s night isn’t over yet.” and Yuuri yelling to the public “Everyone! Enjoy Hasetsu!”
And they lived happily ever after… (no they don’t say this but I think it fits). From here on it’s just my impressions.
This drama was really amusing and I could comment about basically every part.. I love when Victor and Chris annoy Yuuri together (like, you suddenly wonder who is the oldest there, lol), and how Yuuri complains but gives in. Also, Victor doing a cute face when he’s trying to persuade him… And Yuuri who is basically treating Victor in a way you would never have expected only watching the first 2-3 episodes of the series (and that just shows how close they are now).
Also, Yurio being annoyed the whole time but going ZOMG whenever something “cool” is involved. It’s hard to call this drama “canon” because of its surreal content, but if the characters are IC there is a chance he might end up being called “Yurio” by his Russian rinkmates too, lol.
Unfortunately I don’t think the summary does Georgi justice, because lots of the amusing parts are impossible to take notes of while listening… Same for all the crazy bits in the third part, and of course the way they pronounced the lines, which is hard to express with plain text but was definitely one of the best parts of the drama. Yuuri changes his voice so many times… And Victor’s lines too can sound completely different depending on how he pronounces them (sometimes he uses a sexy voice, so lines that would otherwise be normal sound more sensual or suggestive). I wish they’d release this drama on CD as a standalone, so more people can listen to it, but I guess it’s difficult because they mention names of real people and, most importantly, real shops/brands.. They’d have to bleep them out, but I’d be ok with them doing it if it makes the drama releasable, lol.

Touka takes several days off from working at Re:, citing to Yomo that she wanted to take some time to relax and use that vacation fund she had been saving up to pamper herself. In reality, she had no plans, she secretly snuck in a few pounds of decaf coffee and locked herself in her room to sleep away the numerous emotions she was feeling inside.
He has not reached out to her, not even with a simple text. Not that he should -- she had made her feelings clear, no matter how much it hurt and if anything, she should be happy, glad that he was heeding her warnings and staying away from her.
But -- her heart is in pieces.
She had engaged in those trysts because of her inability to let go of the past, a product of her own hypocrisy, when she had promised herself that she would stay away from him and let him live the good life he deserved.
In the end, she was just a hypocrite.
God, she wanted to call him. She stares at his contact information on her phone, her finger hovering over the call button. She almost presses it numerous times. Frustrated, she places her phone back onto the dresser and sits herself up on her bed, raking her fingers through her messy hair.
She can’t live like this, it had been a week. Re: was getting busier with the colder weather, Yomo was starting to get concerned, just how long did she think she would be able to hide this from him? She already had a feeling that Nishiki knew and that was bad enough.
Touka is absolutely drained. She had to be about a month along and the child inside of her was already sucking out most of her strength. She had a lot of trouble walking for long periods of time these days, and any kind of food made her feel sick to her stomach, even though she craved it. Maybe she needed human food? The very idea makes her somewhat nauseous. God, she didn’t want any of that disgusting shit, but the baby inside of her seems to be crying out for it. Maybe what she was eating wasn’t enough nutrients? Sighing, she grudgingly sends Nishiki a text. Oi, shit head, it reads. Luckily, it doesn’t take him all that long to respond. What do you want, harpy?
I need human food, she writes. Please don’t ask me why.
She’s lucky in that he doesn’t. There’s a pause in the text messages before he responds to her replying that he would drop it off after his shift ended. Touka sighs in relief. He may be an arrogant shit head, but Nishiki had always come through in the end.
Her stomach gurgles painfully, and she clutches it, curling on her bed in pain. “Be patient,” she says, rubbing it and winces. “I’ll get you some food soon, I promise.”
--
Nishiki shows up to her apartment two hours later, holding a two burgers and french fries. Her mouth curls as she sees it, and takes it from him with a deep sigh. He lets himself in, much to her annoyance.
“You can go home now,” she complains. “Why would I do that when my manager looks like such shit?” He asks, then his tone and eyes soften. “You could barely make it to the door when I came. Are you alright?” “Fine,” she lies, before taking a seat. “I’m -- just fine. You don’t need to worry, okay?” “Let me ease my own conscious, then,” he says, running his fingers through his hair. He had such a gruff way of speaking, even though he cared. She smiles. He would have made a good older brother. Then again, he already was in a way, wasn’t he? Neither of them expect the doorbell to ring.
She puts the styrofoam container down on her dining table and opens the door to see Ken standing there, coat on his arm and eyes narrowing when he sees Nishiki sitting on her couch like he was way too comfortable there.
“What are you doing here?” She exclaims, shoving him out and trying to close the door behind her. She did not want to deal with him when she was feeling this sick. Especially not when seeing him made her so unpredictable.
His lips pull up in a cold smile. “Ah, I see, so that’s why you’ve been so distant. Found someone else?” He reaches behind her to turn the knob and let himself in. She follows him in, in horror.
“W-Wait --” “Nishiki-senpai,” Ken greets smoothly, “I wonder what Kimi-san would be thinking if she knew you were here with Touka after abandoning her.”
Nishiki looks like he wants to laugh hysterically. So Kaneki finally grew a backbone and it was all over the harpy. Because he thought she was fucking around with him. How disgusting.
Nishiki almost doubles over in laughter. “What!?!” He guffaws. “You think that I’m fucking Touka?” Touka also has to hold back snorts at the absurdity of it all. Kaneki was in her apartment -- fighting with Nishiki over her. What in the hell was happening? Had she fallen into some strange drama show? Were there camera hidden in her apartment?
“Isn’t that what this is?” Ken asks, voice brimming with anger. She had never seen him sound so affected before. Usually he was picture of perfect calm and indifference. “I never would have expected something like this from the two of you --” He was advancing upon Nishiki, who stood his ground and glared at him. “Can you stop jumping to conclusions for five seconds?” Touka demands, shoving him away. Ken moves her to the side as though she hadn’t done anything, and stands in front of Nishiki. He was the same height as the man now and they both glare at each other. “Am I?” Ken asks quietly. “Am I really jumping to conclusions, Nishiki-senpai?” “You are,” Nishiki grits out, “But even if you weren’t. Does the king of fakes really have any right over her life? You’re the one who remembered and refused to come back, Investigator.”
Touka sees Ken swing -- and is still sluggish from the baby and can’t intercept the blow. Nishiki crashes into her coffee table.
“You fucking --” “Stop it!” Touka screams. “You assholes are not going to fight in my goddamn apartment!” She grabs Ken by the collar. “Are you out of your fucking minds?!”
She feels so sick, hardly able to hold herself up. “What the hell’s the matter with you?!”
He’s seething, gripping her wrists and pulling her off. Nishiki stands up, looking ready to lunge on him but Touka stops that with a weak splay of her fingers on his chest. “Stop it,” Her eyes flicker back to Ken’s. “Can we talk, because I have to tell you something important.” Nishiki looks ready to murder him and Ken doesn’t back down until Touka places her hands on his chest, “Please.” “Nishiki, go home, I’ll talk to you later.” She stares at him until she wears him down. He slips his shoes back on and slams the door in his exit. Once they’re alone, she turns to Ken with an angry look. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” She couldn’t believe that he would show up to her apartment to fight Nishiki of all people. “You could have called me --” “You told me to leave,” He answers sharply. “It was obvious that you didn’t want me here, I just came to check up on you because you weren’t at Re.” So he had been checking on her. He was keeping tabs on her. “I acted rashly,” She admits, “I shouldn’t have hit you -- I was overwhelmed I haven’t been feeling well recently.”
He walks over to her dining table, lifting the cover of the takeaway container and confusedly looking over at her when he sees the food.
Why in the world would she have that? Touka looks uncharacteristically anxious as she squeezes her hands together, breathing in a deep sigh.
Where did she even begin? She never thought that she would be in a situation like this. First, she had never imagined that she’d ever get pregnant. Hell, she hadn’t even thought that she would live as long as she had. She had no kind of road map for what a relationship looked like, but she wasn’t naive enough to think that her dynamic with Kaneki resembled anything close.
How had her mother told her father about her pregnancy?
“Kirishima?” Ken asks and she’s startled from her thoughts. Then, she sees him holding the burger in his gloved hands. “Why do you have this?”
“I’m getting to that,” she mutters, bordering on the edge of panic. “I -- I need to tell you something,” her mouth suddenly feels rather dry. She had never been prone to much anxiety, but somehow, it feels as though the walls are beginning to close in on her as she looks at him.
He looks concerned, but it brings her no comfort. Could she really -- bring a child into this?
She didn’t have the strength to say no to him, at least not for long, and he had no interest in making anything permanent between them. There wasn’t love between them. Or if it was, it was just a twisted, gnarled version of it. “What is it?”
Touka sits, grateful that her couch hadn’t been ruined in Ken and Nishiki’s dispute. She didn’t think she’d be able to stand for this. She can’t even meet his eyes.
“I --,” she licks her lips. He’s looking at her expectantly now.
“I was scared,” she finds herself saying, “What we have -- it’s not -- it doesn’t feel real.”
What am I saying?!
“I want something more,” Touka admits, “I don’t want -- just this -- just using each other like we have been.”
Why am I saying this?
Kens brow furls, “We haven’t been using each other.”
“Don’t play dumb, Sasaki-san,” she retorts, bitter. She sees him flinch from the use of that name, but she refused to call him Kaneki when he insisted on keeping up with this charade. This isn’t what she had meant to tell him, but she can’t even imagine what his reaction would be to a child. It was better if he didn’t know, right? He was a mess. An absolute mess, and there was no way that she could trust him with this secret in good conscious. At least not yet. His body is stiff, as though filled with tension -- or was it anger? It was difficult to tell with him these days.
“Why does what we have need to be complicated?” He asks and really, she wants to laugh. Of course. She was nothing but a complication to him. I can’t tell him.
But she doesn’t laugh even though it feels as though the life was sapped out of her from his answer and reaching the epiphany that she had. There was just no way she could tell him the other half of the truth.
“It’s not complicated to me,” She answers. “We want different things -- and that’s fine. I’d rather not be a part of something that I don’t see a future in.”
The words are bitter as they leave her lips because that was definitely not the case. A future -- god, who even knew about that? She didn’t even know what day some dove manages to crack down on her identity and hunt her down to Re:.
A baby, who even knew if it would live.
And although she wanted there to be a future possible, for all three of them, Touka knew that it was far more complicated than her childish desires.
Kaneki is silent, watching her closely as if to find what she was trying to hide. When he looks down at the styrofoam container he realizes that she had not answered the question at all. “As for the food -- I don’t know, I was walking by some deli and it looked good. So I bought it, Nishiki and I dare each other to eat human food sometimes.”
Another lie, but it wasn’t like he knew.
Touka sighs, deeply, releasing all the energy inside of her out with one exhale. “I think that, maybe, we should keep some space between us.” It was the only way she could keep some of her heart left in tact. But as usual, he is very resistant to the idea. Looking at her with the same stubborn glint -- like a menacing child, bent on getting what he wanted.
“We can be more, if that’s what you want --” “It’s not just about me,” She snaps. “It can’t -- always be about me. A relationship isn’t just about one person. If you can’t commit to it, it’s fine. We want different things and that’s okay. But I can’t keep telling myself that I’m just okay with whatever this is.”
Especially with this child.
He looks stumped, eyes lingering on her carpet, “Then what do you want me to say?”
“Nothing.” She answers, “I don’t need you to say anything. I just think we need to go our own ways.”
--
The moment that Ken returns to his flat and getsthrough his front door, he only manages to lock it before kicking the coffee table across the room. Listening to it break apart with a clatter is satisfying, but not enough to put his mind to ease.
His head bounds, teeth digging into the cigarette loosely hanging from his lips as he recalls her last words to him.
How could she say that so casually?! How could she tell him -- tell him -- that they should end things, when he had just gotten her back?
He was even willing to give the relationship a try-- Why couldn't she just understand?
He knocks one of the shelves down and kicks the compartments off of its hinges.
By now the maintenance desk downstairs had probably called the police from all of the noise that he was making. Not that he cared. He would almost welcome the opportunity for a fight right now.
By the time that he’s finally calmed, his flat is entirely trashed.
It didn’t matter. None of this would matter in a few more months. Not even her.
--
So that was that.
Her fight with Ken  had been almost two weeks ago and in that time, he had not tried to reach out to her. Giving her the promised space that she wanted, to salvage pieces of herself and figure out what she wanted to do.
The baby -- was very complicated to deal with. There were no ghoul doctors and it seemed no matter what she ate, whether it was meat or human food, she would just throw it all back up again. Her health was getting worrying, so much so, that Nishiki corners her into the break room with a serious downturn of his lips.
“It’s killing you, you look like a walking skeleton.”
Her brows furl, lips snarling back to fire back some devastating insult but he wasn’t finished yet.
“Why the hell are you trying to keep this kid?” He asks. “I thought you wanted to try and keep him out of your life.”
“It’s none of your business,” she hisses, curling her hand around her belly protectively. God, it was like everyone was against her these days. Even Nishiki wanted her to get rid of this child. Nishiki raises an eyebrow at her, crossing his arms, “Not my business?” He demands.
“I thought that everyone at re: was a team,” he reminds her. “Or did you forget that the moment that he walked back into your life?” That stung.
When she had first created re: she had wanted to continue anteiku’s legacy -- to create a place where ghouls could support one another, where she could help weaker ghouls, like the old man had. She had also wanted to create a place where he could return to, if he was still alive. Nishiki had returned to help with both of those goals, and they had become close friends along the way. Was he really accusing her of turning her back on all of that?
Her breath hitches, as she feels hot rage begin to fill her up. How dare he? “What do you know about it?” “I know that you’d let yourself be killed for his child,” Nishiki says firmly, “Just like you’d let him keep taking pieces of you if it means that he’d throw you even a scrap of affection. When are you going to stop doing this? Do you think that no one cares about you?”
It feels like the wind had been knocked out of her. Somehow, this conversation reminded her of another one -- one that felt like a lifetime ago as she struggled to keep Ken from throwing his life away, to make sense of what had become of him. She finds herself smiling bitterly. Perhaps they both weren’t so different, after all. That was the most painful thing to admit of all.
Nishiki was absolutely right.
“I -- I don’t want to hear this right now --”
“Then when do you want to hear it?” He demands, “I thought that I was being a good friend by minding my own business,” he says, “Maybe I’m a bigger moron than both of you for that.”
His mouth presses into a thin line, eyes hardening. “I’m telling Yomo-san about this.”
His words plunge her into ice. “No--”
“How long are you planning on hiding any of this from him, anyway?” His voice is beginning to raise, before he stops himself. “We’re all a team,” he says again, quieter this time. “We want to help you -- but you have to let us, Touka.”
Touka. He hardly ever called her that these days.
Her heart aches.
Then he sighs, “I won’t say anything, but I will if this gets worse.”
She can’t speak, only nodding as she watches his retreating figure. Her grip around her belly tightens. It was strange. The life that had taken root inside of her suddenly felt so important, even at the detriment of herself and everyone else around her? They were her family, and that was undeniable -- but this child. She already feels an incredibly attachment to it. She couldn’t just give up.
Even if she seemed to get weaker and weaker with each passing day.
--
Every day was a battle of wills between her and her unborn child. She would wake up in the morning and try to eat something to sate the growling in her belly, making sure that at least some nutrients were making through to them.
But the price was throwing it all back up a couple of hours later.
The headaches were getting worse too -- there were days she couldn’t even concentrate on a customer’s order and she would need to make it to the couch in the back room to burrow into.
What made it incredibly difficult was the fact that Nishiki seemed to be around every day, giving her the look that said he was observing her. She had to make sure she was at her most normal around him, or at least as she had been the time he confronted her.
Her belly expands, needing her to wear loose slacks and baggier cardigans to hide it.
She was running in so many directions that one day, she realizes that she had given herself away when Yomo asks to speak to her privately.
She thinks it was about the sales for the month, maybe even about hiring a fourth hand to help out --
“How long?” Instead is all he asks, looking at her midsection.
Her throat feels bitter like bile had risen up like it did every morning. Had Nishiki told him?
She licks her lips, mind racing to come up with some kind of excuse but Yomo only holds up a hand as if to say that he wasn’t done talking.
“I don’t know who else knew about this, but I would expect that, you would have come to me for help at least once.”
He looks so disappointed. Normally that would have made her angry but now all it does it make her eyes sting.
Had she made such a big of a mistake? Of wanting to keep her child?
She swallows uncomfortably, steeling her eyes. “Nishiki told you.”
Yomo shakes his head after a moment’s pause. “Did you two really think I was some kind of idiot that wouldn’t figure it out?”
“That’s not --”
“You must have,” Yomo says, sounding resigned. “Or you just didn’t trust me.”
She can feel her chest begin to constrict. No -- that wasn’t it at all. She had been afraid. What if he also told her to get rid of the child? She didn’t want that, she didn’t want that at all. When he stares at her in that way, it’s as if he’s seen some kind of ghost. He’s pale, hands balled into fists and body tight with what must have been anger or fear.
“Yomo-san, that’s not it,” she tries.
“It is,” he says, sounding tired now. “You always were too much like your mother.”
What? She’s bewildered -- wondering what her mother had to do with any of this. How would he have even known her mother? Yomo, doesn’t give her the opportunity to voice any of these questions, however, as he goes back into the front of the shop, leaving her alone.
Why did it seem as though everyone was so quick to give up on her? She sinks down to her knees, trying to control her breathing even though panic had seized her. Her heart is racing, eyes darting around as she struggles and gasps for air.
Everyone had expectations -- they always had. She was meant to be the girl who held it all together. If she was too angry, then she was a sad person consumed by revenge, and if she was too passive, then she would blink and everything -- everyone would be gone. People even left now when she disappointed them. What was she even supposed to do? She didn’t want to live while losing things.
I don’t want to lose anything else! She thinks defiantly.
It wasn’t fair. It was enough. She had had enough.
--
She’s not sure why her feet are leading her to Ken’s flat. It’s a terrible idea, and she knows that. She had ended things with him for that same reason.
She’s been here so many times that it was easy to take the elevator right up with a bow to the door man. She’s always been distracted when they came back together, preoccupied by some kind of game they were about to play with each other. But it was as if her body had retained the memories of what floor to get off and which door was his.
When he doesn’t respond after the fifth ring, her heart sinks.
He’s not home. You’ve been forgotten again or maybe you weren’t that important to begin with.
Her mind was cruel to her even as her eyes begin to sting, the incidents of the last few months catching up to her all in one go as she thinks of what to do now.
She couldn’t fault him for not being here. It was she who had asked that he leave in the first place. She, who didn’t do the sensible thing in the beginning and she, who decided on keeping her child, despite the pains they were giving her.
Life was never certain, but she could not bear to lose something that she had for herself.
It didn’t matter if she was alone. It would just be her baby and she would love it just fine by herself.
She begins to turn away, walking back to the elevator when the door suddenly flies open and a very disheveled and tired Kaneki stares at her with bleary eyes. His glasses were missing, eyes red and clothes mussed.
He had been sleeping.
For a moment all she could do is stare, tears silently rolling down her cheeks as she tries to keep her jaws clamped shut from whimpering in relief.
I don’t want to be alone. Please don’t leave me alone.
“Kirishima--”
She collapses in his arms, face buried in his chest and arms wrapping around his body tightly. She inhales, the comforting scent of his. His woodsy cologne, the scent of smoke and metal all intermingling with a strange overlay of blood. Unconsciously, his arms go around her, squeezing her protectively to himself as he manages to shut the door and heft her over to his bed.
--
She couldn’t hide this from him anymore. She didn’t care what the consequences were or even what the hell they were supposed to do. She needs to know if she really was alone in wanting this child.
Laying back on his pillows, she begins to unbutton her cardigan, sliding it further to her sides and lifting the hem of her shirt so he can just about see the slight roundedness of her belly.
She takes his hand with an uncomfortable swallow and places it on the curve that shivered underneath his touch. “That day, when you came over and you saw the food -- it was for --”
She doesn’t need to finish her sentence before he retracts his hand from belly, as if the slight contact burned.
Of course, she thinks.
She really was alone.
Or so she thinks, until she feels his arms envelope her in a tight embrace. She flinches, eyes growing wide as she feels him kiss her forehead. “It’s okay,” he reassures. “It’s going to be okay.” Her vision is beginning to blur.
She hadn’t expected a reaction like this from him at all.
“You don’t mind?” She asks, watching in awe as he palms her stomach, smoothing it down alongside her slightly bulging belly. “You really don’t mind?” It’s almost too good to be true, and his reaction also doesn’t fit with everything that she knows about him. She had expected him to throw her out, to try to ignore that it was happening. He didn’t want seem like the type to want a family. Maybe before, but not now.
Not when he was poised for self-destruction.
“I don’t,” Ken reassures, capturing her lips once more -- and Touka loses all reason.
All of those weeks of anxiety, of fear, and of anguish pours out of her as she begins to tear at his clothes. He was only in his signature black shirt and pinstripe pants, and she rips the shirt open, sending buttons flying everywhere as she pushes it down his shoulders and off of his body. It was nice to have someone who didn’t scold her for her decisions. It was strange that it was Ken in this case, but she wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
She wouldn’t think about it. She wouldn’t think about anything.
He pushes her down onto the bed, and bends down to kiss her bulging belly, right at the navel before he kisses lower. He unbuttons her shorts, pushing them down her hips and off of her body before also doing the same to the tights that she wore. He didn’t rip them like he normally did. In fact, he was touching her with far more gentleness than he usually did. Was he taking the baby into account?
Her breath hitches, especially when spreads her legs, bringing his mouth down to her cunt. He licks along the crotch of her panties, sighing, as though savoring the taste of her before he taps her hip, a cue for her to raise them so that he can also ease her panties off of her.
And then -- he is devouring her.
It’s different than usual, somehow, even better than their previous bouts of sex. He goes slowly, licking along her slit in slow, deep flicks of his tongue, before directing his tongue to her clit. Her hips raise up, and she gasps when his lips close around her clit. He alternates between sucking and licking the swollen ball of nerves, and she is twisting and turning as the pleasure mounts.
This time, she doesn’t use the wrong name. “Kaneki,” she rasps -- it slips out as her fingers thresh through that all too familiar black hair. Now, it doesn’t seem mocking. She sees him freeze, his grey eyes flicking up to hers, and there’s an insurmountable emotion there as he returns back to his task. When he moans her name, it’s not Kirishima that she hears, but Touka-chan, and she falls apart.
Her eyes flicker open as he comes back up, licking his lips and watching her with hungry eyes.
It was like he was realizing a bunch of things at the same time. That he had been playing a fool’s game before, thinking he could keep away from her and that she wouldn’t realize that he had come to terms with himself. It was always hard for them to ignore each other, no matter the circumstances and this time was no different.
He can't take not being one with her. He would do whatever it takes to keep her with him and just like that, he has had enough of this foreplay.
She moves her lips to respond his kiss as undoes the zip of his slacks and with her assistance, brings them down his hips. He moves away only for a moment to shake off his slacks and briefs.
She watches with soft eyes as he comes back to her, cupping her face and kissing the corners of her lips.
She grips the length of his cock and strokes him deliberately until she feels his precum moisten her hands. She wants to taste him but he doesn't budge.
“Later,” he inhales sharply, “it's been far too long.”
She agree with that sentiment. She wanted to feel him fill her up, sate the burning in her belly and the loneliness in her heart. Only he seemed to manage to do both, no matter how much she's tried to put herself off of him throughout the years.
He adjusts his hips, lining himself up and thrusting in with one hard thrust that has her gasping sharply and twisting her fingers into his shoulders. He watches her from above, kissing her face and burying his nose in the crook her neck as he pulls out and thrusts back in.
Her arms wrap around him lazily as he moves his hips slowly, with meaning to tease and still go so deep that her jaw slacks, nose scrunches up and eyes water.
It’s so good that she’s left panting, whining from the depth of the deep, slow strokes of his cock. He’s pushing deep and it’s difficult to remember to breath, even when the pace that he’s setting isn’t all that fast. Somehow, this was worse, more intense, especially when she needs him to go faster, even if he’s fucking her just as hard as she needs him to.
She kisses his mouth, “Faster,” she tries to encourage, but he ignores her, lifts up her legs and grinds his hips with their pelvises pressed together. It’s not fast, but the action does make her shudder and cry out his name again.
“Kaneki--”
“Again,” Ken whispers, drawing back from her mouth, so that he can see her expression. Her flexibility allows him to lean down, pushing her legs up against her chest so that he can close the distance between each other. He uses his free hand to grip her chin, “Say my name again,” and she does.
It’s only then, that his restraint seems to break.
His thrusts are powerful and deep, sending waves of bliss that reverberate throughout every nerve in her body. She doesn’t need to hold back her moans, now and she drags her nails down his back before settling her hands on his ass, trying to urge him in deeper.
She doesn’t want to let him go.
Her mouth finds his again as she comes, locking her legs around his hips as she loses all sense of herself. Her body trembles, nails digging into his skin hard enough to draw blood, but he doesn’t seem to mind as he watches her expression.
So beautiful.
And then, she hears him gasps, slamming inside of her harder, deeper and then she feels warmth inside of her as he finishes right behind her.
This has been -- different. This time, he doesn’t draw away from her. He doesn’t even pull out, as he rests his head against her chest, trying to remain mindful of her belly, but it wasn’t big enough that his weight was too much of a problem yet. She holds him close and runs her fingers through her hair.
This felt like -- before.
It almost feels as though he’s his old self again.
And then, “You’re all mine now,” she hears him whisper, and his hand run down to rub at her belly. He wraps his arm around it possessively, kissing her shoulder. “You can’t leave me.” He’s smiling, as though he were at peace.
Oh, she thinks, growing cold.
So that’s why you were happy..
