Just been talking to this npc and he was like 'oh hey!! Nice of them to send out a guy so soon after I sent my letter!' and when link did his little talking hand gestures my full expectation was the next words to be 'omg the hero?? Zeldas knight?? The champion of hyrule? You guys were missing it was all over the kingdom!!'
Npc: oh, so you're just some guy? Man, I thought they would have sent someone out by now, I've been waiting ages...

Halloween prompts year 2 day 15
Hood remained silent, even as he clenched the gun tightly in his hand. He hadn't even seen a hint of green portals or blond elfs but 200 witnesses couldn't all be wrong.
All of them had stated that a white haired meta with a gas mask was working with a blond elf with a leaf mask and that they had been the ones kidnapping the kids and teens of Gotham.
Jason had heard stories of fairies snatching kids and infants, sometimes swapping them out with a sickly one of thier own. But there were no trades that Jason knew of. Only missing kids.
Hell, all of the biggest child gangs around Crime Alley and the Narrows were gone.
As in gone gone. Not a single member was left nor any trace of where they could have been taken to. As much as he hated to admit it, he might need to ask for help from the Justice League Dark...
---
Link stared down at the kids from his rooftop perch.
They looked...cleaner. Happier. They had gained a healthy amount of weight, no longer stick thin and weak looking. They had season appropriate clothing without holes and others hidden away in chests and armours for the coming seasons far off from now.
His spirit friend, Phantom, had panicked a bit after he realized what they were doing was trafficking, but calmed down once he pointed out that these kids would have a much better life in Hyrule than they would have had in the rotting trashpit that was Gotham.
If they would have lived much longer at all
Still, thier presence here was mutually beneficial. Hyrule had lost over 80% of its population in the Great Calamity and they were no where close to regaining the population they once had. All of thier forts, training areas, ect were specifically targeted and destroyed in the attacks and gardians and monsters were left in the ruins to ensure they could not rebuild what was lost
Which led to the bigger issues at hand. All the empty occupations.
The castle, and thus castle town, were ground zero for the disaster that wiped out the Hylian peoples. With it many businesses and trades were lost. Hyrule had few soldiers and those they did have desperately needed armor, weapons and training.
That wasn't all. Hudson construction had attempted to repair Castle town and eventually the castle, but they were wood workers, not stone masons. They knew little of the craft that was needed.
There were lessons and information in the castle archives covering most of the jobs and trades, as well as how to proform them, but the princess didn't see it as a priority. They didn't have the people necessary to teach these crafts and the castle and town surrounding wasn't really a priority anyway. Not with all the people who still needed help around the kingdom.
Phantom helped a lot too. Other than helping them build towns for the kids (the child gangs actually really liked having a town all to themselves) he did a lot of other random jobs around the kingdom, much like Link himself.
Unfortunately, his next trip to Gotham lead to a run in with the "Red Hood" and the phrase, "Was that a fucking fruit grenade?!" Link did not know what the word "Fucking" meant but the Hood man would not tell him. He is learning a lot of new words from this guy, words that Phantom appearently didn't like cause he loudly scolded Red Hood like a naughty child the first time they met. It was hilarious to see this tiny 15 year old tell off a giant tank of a man.
Link couldn't see the mans expression due to the odd red helm the man wore, but he could tell he was cowed, even if just a bit. Then he began speaking to someone who wasn't there while pressing his finger to the side of his helm where his ear should be. Is Red Hood ill? Does he have a mind sickness like the ones Phantom told him of when describing his parents? Or is this something Link doesn't yet understand...either way he doesn't think he's getting more children for Hyrules future in this trip...or anytime soon if those ominous masked people landing on the rooftops around them had any say in the matter.

Winter. Most people love that season. Snow, shiny streets decorated with lights, hot chocolate, families reunited to decorate the house, cozy clothes… And what couples love: cuddling without melting because of the high temperatures the summer brings, holding hands, sleeping together.
Sounds cute, amazing, beautiful.
Unless you are single.
When you are single, you won't have someone to give you body heat, or to get your hand warm while you walk on the street. Instead of that, you have to wear gloves, scarfs and warm clothes.
I never wanted this to happen. I never wanted to be in this situation, wishing I was her. Everytime they got cozy on the couch, I wished it was me who he was holding. Everytime they walked in front of me, I wish it was my hand the one he's holding and keeping warm in the pocket of his coat.
But sadly, I have a crush on my best friend's boyfriend. It wasn't on purpose. Harry and I started college the same year and both of us were in the same classes, sharing tables and after the first months studying, sharing a group of friends. We were the link of our group, the ones that introduced our friends to the others.
And that's how Eloise met Harry.
Eloise was my childhood best friend, my neighbor, my forever supporter on everything I did, the one that was always behind me with a hand on my back and pushing me to follow my dreams.
Except that one time. But it wasn't her fault.
I knew she liked Harry and he liked Eloise. The moment they met for the first time, I felt how something changed, I felt how Harry couldn't stop looking at her, how his smile was bigger whenever he heard her talk or laugh.
That's why I had to take a step back and let them be happy together, even if it meant that I had to swallow my own feelings and watch how they fell in love with each other.
The winter vacations were getting closer and with that the plans of shopping gifts and decorations started. The last class before the vacations officially started was longer that it looked, time flew very slow and all of us were counting down the seconds to grab our things and leave the campus.
“Do you have something planned with your family?” Harry asked me, talking low.
“No, actually “ I sighed. “I won't go home for Christmas Eve. Eloise asked me to go to the trip you planned”
“Oh, right” he nodded. “The guys will go too”
“Yeah, she told me” I nodded. “Who will go, by the way?”
“Well… Max and Pietra, Lando…” he started to count, making me him and pay attention to the teacher again.
Or at least, look like I was paying attention.
Harry's group of friends is everything but normal. Max and Lando were always there, his childhood friends that met during his short period of kart racing when they were just seven years. While Harry decided to focus on his studies and start a career to follow the steps of his father, Max and Lando continued with their passion for motorsport, but only Lando could make it to the final level, to Formula 1.
“Lando? The season is already finished?” I asked, typing some things on my laptop.
“Yeah, it did some weeks ago” he nodded.
“Ah, nice”
Lando Norris. I rarely talked with him. Every time our group hangs out, he's always with Max and Pietra. What we say to the other is the basic two people from the same group can say. Sure, we texted to congratulate our own personal wins and our birthdays, or even to give details whenever he invited us to some races so each one of us could have their own paddock pass.
“When are we leaving?” I asked. “I have to make my suitcase”
“Then do it when you arrive home because we are leaving in two days” he chuckled, making me frown.
“Oh, okay” I nodded.
In two days. And my birthday will be in the middle of the trip?
When the teacher ended the class I packed my backpack, putting the laptop inside of it as well as my notebook. I saw Harry looking at his phone with a smile and I immediately knew he was texting Eloise.
“I'll send you the details, okay? Lando took care of the plane” Harry said, and I just hummed in response.
I hung the backpack on my left shoulder and walked out, grabbing my phone and getting out of the classroom.
Everyone ran through the corridors, excited to finally leave the classes and have free days for some weeks before going back to bury their noses on the books to study again.
The streets are cold, freaking cold. With only two minutes out of the building, my nose is as cold as an ice cube and the need of wrapping the scarf around my throat makes me smile, feeling the warm material caressing the skin of my cheeks. Only a ten minutes walk and then I'll be at home, where I can change my clothes for cozy ones and drink a warm coffee while reading a book.
I was excited for the trip. It's been a long time since all of us went on a trip. Since Lando is always working around the globe, planning something for all of us was hard. Max and Pietra are always together, if one can go the other will join, they go as a pack unless Max has to do things with Lando's eSports team Quadrant. Harry and I have basically the same schedule, working on the last year of our master to finally have the title of our career.
The group chat was already working, sending messages to check if everything was ready, asking the last details for the trip.
Then I saw a text from another chat. Lando.
Lando Norris: You want to have a single room?
Violet Sinclair: Wow, thank you for reminding me how single I am.
Lando Norris: I wasn't saying it in that way!
Violet Sinclair: I know, silly. And yeah, that would be great 🙂
I sigh, rolling my eyes and leaving my phone on my nightstand while I changed my clothes.
Lando and I are the only ones that are single in the group. Which is kinda a relief, because I'm moments where the six of us hang out together, at least I know that I won't be alone watching how two couples are cozy in front of me.
Tumblr media
The list of rooms reserved was shown on the screen in front of me. Two double rooms and two single rooms.
When Max mentioned that Violet was going to come on the trip after Eloise asked her, I immediately started to search for a place to stay for a week for all of us.
It was my turn to organize the trip, last summer it was Max who did it, even if not all of us went. But this time Violet was coming with us instead of staying with her family or in her apartment to study. At least, she won't be alone during her birthday.
Violet befriended Harry when they started college, and the moment he introduced her to Max and I, it was immediate love at first sight. The moment I saw her walk inside Harry's apartment and her golden hair held on a ponytail wave with every step she made closer to me, I fell hard for her.
But the moment I saw how she looked at Harry, I knew I had zero chances with her.
Even if her best friend dated Harry, she couldn't stop looking at him with adoration, a way sometimes I wished she could look at me.
I never liked being in a love triangle, it always brings trouble, more if it's inside a group of friends. But I couldn't help but feel that way.
“Mate, are you really going to be alone? You won't bring that girl from Raya?” Max asked, walking inside my streaming room and looking at the screen.
“For what? To make things more uncomfortable than they are already going to be with two couples?” I laughed, trying to lock my phone and making sure he doesn't see my chat with Violet.
“I mean, you are always complaining that you are single…” he sighed.
“I won't make Violet be uncomfortable too” I said, raising my shoulders and rolling my eyes.
“So it's because of her?” he smirked, making me roll my eyes and turn around the chair.
It's always because of her.
I made a profile on a dating app, because of her. I flirt with girls, because of her. I try to be at parties, because of her.
Because it is the least I can do to try to forget a woman that will never want me. And no matter how hard the effort is, my mind always crawls back at her.
So yeah, I do many stupid things because of her.
The last stupid thing was buying the book she talked about with Eloise during one of our game nights, sending it to her without a name of who sent it on the package. But at least, I knew she liked it and she was happy because she had it on the coffee table of her living room the day some of us went to her apartment to help her build a new library for her books.
“Harry, Eloise and Violet will take the plane in two days” I told Max. “We can go from here by train”
Max and Pietra came to Monaco a few days ago after I returned back to Monaco once the season was over. I wanted to rest, to forget about the speed and the cars. I needed to disconnect and I knew that spending time with my friends was what I needed the most.
“I'm going to buy some things” I said, getting up from the chair. “You need something?”
“If you buy dinner on your way home, that would be great” he nodded, walking out of the room and going to the guests room.
I sighed and nodded, grabbing a coat and the keys of one of my cars, driving to the mall of Monaco.
Violet's birthday will be during the trip, and I didn't want to go with my hands empty. A few days ago I saw something she would like, so I decided to buy it for her.
It was a necklace of a violet, the flower, and a book.
If there's something that can describe Violet is her passion for books. Her apartment is not big, it only has two rooms, a bathroom and an open kitchen that shares space with the living room. What is supposed to be a guest's room, is her library but with a bed on it. It's full of books, and it makes me proud to say that the books I secretly buy for her are between those shelves.
“Is this what you want?” the shop assistant said, showing me the necklace. “That girl must be lucky, this is a beautiful piece of jewelry. What a lucky girlfriend”
“Yeah…” I nodded.
If only the girlfriend part was true…
Going back home after buying some other things was exhausting. I had to buy clothes for the trip as well as dinner for Max, Pietra and me. But the fact that I had a bag with Violet's present just made me happy.
This would be the first time that I was going to be with her during her birthday, because over the last years she always went with her family to celebrate it with them.
Just when I got inside the elevator with the bags, my phone received a notification.
Violet💜: I forgot to ask, how many days are we going to stay there?
I smiled looking at the text, immediately answering her after leaving the bags on the floor.
Lando Norris: A week, I reserved a house for all of us.
Violet💜: you did? You reserved everything by yourself? How much I owe you?
Lando Norris: It's okay, it was my turn to plan the trip. Don't worry about the money
Violet💜: you sure?
Lando Norris: a hundred percent sure
“Who got you smiling like that?” Max asked when he saw me opening the door.
“What? No one!”
Lie after lie. Why can't I be honest with him? Why can't I say that I'm in love with Violet? Maybe it's because I prefer saving it to myself rather than someone having pity on me because I want someone that doesn't care about me, that wants another man.
I prefer living on my own fantasies and illusions than accepting the fact that Violet is untouchable and I will never have her.

Hii!! I love your imagines! <3 could i please request a part two for the first date w matt fic? Maybe how their relationship grows or him asking her to be his gf after a while?
Hey Google, Play 'Begin Again' (Part 2) Matt Sturniolo x Reader Two Part Series
Summary: After your first date with Matt, your relationship begins to grow
Word Count: 1279 words
Hey Google, Play 'Begin Again' (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Matt was not like other guys that you had dated. He didn’t leave you on read, he didn’t run hot and cold and when he said he was going to call you, he did.
He had texted you every day since your first date about things that might have seemed insignificant but, it was the exact kind of shit your ex never did. He didn’t text to ask you how your day was, he didn’t leave a voice note when something funny happened, he didn’t Facetime when he was doing the laundry just to see how you were… he never did laundry.
Matt was different. A good kind of different. You were worried that a few weeks would pass and his true colors would start to show. Maybe he was only in it for one thing, maybe he was hot-tempered, maybe he was just a pig disguised as an angel. But, Matt was who he was. He was kind, he was thoughtful and he really seemed to like you. He certainly liked you enough to call your friend Taylor and thank her for lining up the date.
As you sat in your car waiting for the rain to stop so you could run into your building, Matt’s name popped up on your phone. You hated the cheesy grin that spread across your face and the giddiness you couldn’t quite control.
“Hey Matt,” you half sang, half spoke in the register of a pre-pubescent teenage boy. You cleared your throat and tried your very best to sound casual, “What’s up?”
“Y/n,” he replied, “how are you?”
“I’m good,” was all you could come up with as you slapped your palm to your forehead. You didn't even ask how he was in return!
“Awesome. I was actually wondering if you want to link up on the weekend?” he asked.
Your heart sank. “I’m actually moving on Saturday, my lease is up,” you replied.
“You’re moving?” he asked, “I’m free Saturday, I could come help or whatever.”
You could not hide your smile and put yourself on mute just to let out an excited squeal. You were definitely going to call Taylor after this. “That would be awesome… Only if you’re free or whatever,” you replied.
“Yeah, text me the address and the time and I’ll be there,” he said.
As you waited for Matt on that Saturday morning, you kept tugging at your hair in the mirror; it just wasn’t laying right. You had changed your outfit three or four times and began pacing the hallway.
His knock at the door made you jump. He was early, again. As you led him into the kitchen, he handed you one of the two drinks in his hand. “An iced coffee. If I remember correctly, that was your order,” he said.
You were shocked he remembered when you replied, “Thank you so much. You didn't have to.”
With his hands on his hips as if he was ready to unassemble furniture, he asked, “So, where can I start?”
You took a sip of the drink and said, “The removalists are going to take the furniture, we just need to pack up the kitchen.”
With a nod, he began assembling boxes to pack the plates and utensils in. This was it, what your friend Taylor always told you. If a man wanted to, he would.
It was nice spending the afternoon again just the two of you. Though you spoke a lot, you hadn’t seen him since your coffee date almost two months prior. He caught you up on the tour he went on with his brothers and his most recent trip back home. You told him about when your parents came to town and how you might be getting a promotion at work.
There was something about the way that Matt listened so attentively and how he never spoke over you when you talked. If you ever met his mother, you had a lot to thank her for.
If forever did exist, you were kind of hoping it would be with him. He quickly became the only person that you wanted to talk to and, simultaneously, the only person you ever talked about. You were down bad but, for the first time, you weren’t worried about that.
As you were picking up the final box to take to your car before you left, he pulled a stuffed teddy bear out of it.
“Oh my god, that’s so embarrassing,” you said. “Why?” he asked, confused.
You took it from him and stuffed it back in the box, “I’ve had that thing since I was kid… I can’t sleep without it.”
He placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder and gave it a squeeze, “I’m not gonna judge you. I sleep with a pug stuffed animal.”
For a split second, you saw 10 years in the future, the both of you tucking your kids into bed with their stuffed animals. Two kids at the kitchen counter embarrassed by how in love you both were. You never let yourself think like that with any of your exes. It seemed like a fragile and unfeasible dream with them.
Before you left the apartment, Matt asked, “Do you want a picture?”
You did. You hadn’t even thought of that, all you had been thinking about was Matt. But, this was your first apartment. The first place you lived in LA. The first place where you paid the bills. The first place you got to decorate to make it feel like home. This little apartment had been good to you and you wanted to capture the sentiment.
Matt took his role as photographer extremely seriously and was directing you on where to stand and how to pose. He was encouraging you from behind the camera and he even got a laugh out of you.
On the drive to your new apartment he was sitting in your passenger seat and scrolling through the pictures he’d taken, pointing out his favortie ones. You were glad you were driving because you hated looking at pictures of yourself but, he might have just been able to convince you that you looked pretty in a few.
As you sat on the floor of your new apartment with pizza crusts on paper plates, you didn’t want him to leave. Maybe it was exhaustion or delusion but, you wished it was the both of you moving into this apartment.
You hated this part. The part where you don’t know where this is going. The part where there are no labels yet. The part where it’s too soon to tell him that he’s all you think about. The part where you just have to wait.
You were always the one to fall first. You were always the one love harder. You were always the one who’s effort was wasted. You didn’t want to risk it this time but, you couldn’t help but think that Matt was totally fucking worth it.
As he got up to leave, he helped you clean up the scraps and offered to take the recycling downstairs. He was so fucking boyfriend in that moment that you just wanted to skip to the good part.
Instead, you walked him to the door and thanked him for all of his help. “I’m sure I’d have fun doing absolutely nothing with you,” he said with a smile.
Without thinking, you reached up and pressed your lips against his, pulling away and feeling weight of the silence between you.
You thought this was it. This is how you ruin your perfect fairytale. This is the part where he rushes home and tells his brothers about the psycho bitch who misread the signs.
Instead, he dropped the pizza box and cupped your face in his hands and he kissed you. And, for the first time, it didn’t feel like falling in love. It felt like walking into a house and feeling right at home.

Tumblr media

A lot of angst, like lots so pls watch the trigger warnings. (It’s lots at least for my content!)
Tumblr media
It had been an accident really and truly, one lapse in judgement and it landed you here. You where standing in the university bathroom stall with a pregnancy test flipped over on the toilet paper holder.
You watch beeped letting you know that the time for the results was here. You cautiously flipped the cheap little pregnancy test over seeing the dull pink lines.
No, you couldn’t be. You pulled out another test and another one and before you knew it you’d spent almost 40 bucks in cheap pregnancy tests all for them to be positive. You wanted to kick yourself right now, your parents barely wanted to let you go away for college after you turned 18, and you find yourself in this situation? Your luck couldn’t be any worse could it…well it can because the whole reason you were at the frat party was to try and drink away your feelings, unfortunately when you called your childhood best friend Eddie to check up on him he told you that he had seen Steve seeming pretty close with Nancy which absolutely shattered your heart.
Of course Eddie felt so guilty after he was scrambling to tell you that maybe he was wrong! But you felt wrong for even being mad at Steve, it wasn’t like you two were together at all, you were the only who ended up leaving him behind too so did you even deserve to be upset?
For the next few days you skipped your classes, your dorm mate was getting increasingly more and more worried as when she’d enter the room she’d find you crying on the bed only to fall asleep not long after. When the weekend finally came it was time for you to go back home and tell everyone what you did.
When you passed by your parents neighborhood you passed the house straight up driving to Steve’s.
It was a late Friday night and your vision had been obstructed by your tears really not the safest for you or your baby to be driving with such emotions. You could feel the tears flowing down your face, if only you had just choose to drink in your dorm or something you wouldn’t have met a guy who stood at Steve’s height…that’s it there was nothing else special about him but poor you so drunk couldn’t accept that and decided if he was Steve’s height maybe he’d have his personality or some shit too and just let out all your feelings kinda at him as he sipped on his red solo cup and you don’t know how it escalated so quickly but you just know it did because before you knew it the two of you were hooking up and you were left with a major hangover the next morning.
Turns out the guy was nothing like Steve at all and this did not help your feelings go away at all actually just worsened them.
You parked your car behind Steve’s as you shoved a pregnancy test in your pocket. You were still crying when you knocked on the door, knowing Steve’s parents were on a business trip.
You pulled your hoodie tighter to yourself when you heard Steve’s loud foot steps approach the door. He swung open the door a confused look settling on his face when he recognized you.
“(Y/n)?” He asked noticing how you shivered slightly when the cool night air blew past you.
He pulled you inside telling you he couldn’t let you stay out for too long or you’d get sick and he wasn’t gonna have that. You broke down in tears as he was telling you that you couldn’t afford to be sick.
“I’m sure college is stressing you…so let’s not add to the chances of you getting sic- y/n?” He calls when he hears you sob.
“Steve I’m pregnant” you’re practically sobbing and you want the floor to swallow you whole when you see the look Steve has on his face.
A mix of shock and heart break. Not only was he just beginning to accept that you were leaving for college and he wasn’t going with you, he now feels like he really doesn’t have a chance with you, but he wonders if he even deserves to feel that way? I mean he feels as if he’s the one at fault, he should have told you his feelings earlier!
“Steve?” You ask a little nervous, his reaction not helping.
“Yea, sorry, did you Uhm tell him?” He asks and you shake your head no.
“You’re the first person I tell” and he feels his heart warm, you feel that safe with him? But he snaps himself out of it, not the time for this bs.
“Ok well how about we sit down and we’ll talk about this.” He guides you into the living room helping you sit down as your teas start to run dry before coming back with a warm cup of tea/coffee/some warm drink!
“Alright, I feel like you should definitely tell him first, access your options, the basics you know… but there’s always stuff like co parenting too.” You nod slowly.
“Don’t think he’d have a very positive reaction Steve much less want anything to do with the baby…” he frowns a bit, you let such a shitty guy sleep with you? You deserve the world in his eyes not whatever scum your describing.
“Will you tell him with me?” You ask turning to Steve quickly and lord knows he can’t deny the pleading look etched onto your face.
So that’s how Steve ended up on your college campus holding your hand as you walk down the boys dormitory hallway gently knocking on this guy’s door.
He opens the door and the first thing you and Steve are met with is this guys hairy bare chest and you can vaguely see a girl passed out in his bed, the rooms filthy bug bows not the time to he analyzing this guy as Steve taps your back.
“Uhm…we kinda hooked up at the frat party a few weeks ago…” the guy nods urging you to hurry the fuck up as an impatient look falls onto his face, “and I kinda got pregnant.” You look at the ceiling avoiding the guys very clear disapproving stare.
He made you feel a bit like a child as he stares down with disapproval clear in his eyes, “so what’re you gonna do do with it?” He asks messing with the lock on the door turning it back and forth as if this was some normal chat and not some life altering conversation that should be taken seriously.
“I don’t know yet…I want to raise them” he scoffs.
“Whatever I’m not paying any of that child support bullshit.” He slams the door in both you and Steve’s face and it takes all Steve has in him to not kick down that door and wrestle the guy down until he apologizes to you… but he doesn’t because he knows you’d whine about having a reputation to up keep.
Slowly, you picked up jobs near Hawkins traveling the weekends to work shifts to afford a little trailer someone was giving you a discount on since they were a family friend…said family friend also revealed to your parents your pregnancy.
At this time you were around five months pregnant, laying on Steve’s couch beside him your legs over his lap as his hand sits on your growing baby bump when the phone began to ring wildly, before it could even stop ringing it’d start again, you could feel it in the pit of your stomach, you knew damn well you it was.
You got off the couch walking to the phone as you answered it before you could even say hello they were jumping down your throat letting you know just how pissed off they were that you could ever do something so shameful.
You could feel your tears falling, you can feel yourself begin to have a panic attack as your breathing speeds up, if your parents disowned you how long would it be before you got kicked from college than you couldn’t afford to raise your baby and you’d be struggling all by yourself with no help! Steve gently removes the phone from your hand hanging up on your parents who continue to bitch at the phone long after it’s hung up clearly missing the end tone sound over their own complaints.
He guides you back to the couch trying to calm you down, “Steve ‘m gonna have no help raising them and I’m gonna be a bad mom” you sob out and he pays your back.
“You know that’s not true.” He kisses the top of your head, “if you need anything at all I don’t care how small or big the thing you need help with is no matter the time you call me, got it?” You sob a bit more as you clutch his jacket.
He pushes you away a bit, “got it?” You nod as you sniffle, “he holds your face gently wiping your tears, “and as for being a bad mom…I don’t think you will…when the time comes I think you’ll know what to do, and if you don’t that’s ok too.” You nod against him.
And Steve was right about one thing, when the time came you were more confident in what to do, not that you knew 100% what to do, for the things you didn’t know about you’d call Steve that way you didn’t have to do it alone, though there aren’t many days where Steve isn’t already at the trailer, so maybe he was right about a few things and he would always be there to help…at least until night fell and Steve would have to go home, some nights he could handle being around you and Alice the whole day others his feelings got the best of him and he’d catch himself thinking that maybe you could be a real family, and on those nights he’d go home and cry himself to sleep because even after all these years he still can’t get rid of those feelings.

Back to the Future: The Animated Series, s02ep05 “Verne's New Friend” Review and Commentary
Previous episodes linked here.
In this episode: the obligatory kids' show "girls and boys can be friends" plotline.
We're back in Real Doc's lab for the opening segment, a rarity this season! Doc's got a lot of mysterious, bubbling liquids around him, and he takes a drink from a beaker, informing us it's water. However, he then picks up another one, which contains H2SO4 (sulfuric acid).
Remember when I covered the first season and kept making note of Doc's seemingly deteriorating mental state? The guy was a whole other level of unhinged in these opening segments. Zany, off the rails, and just plain WEIRD (said with the utmost affection). This live-action scene is no different, and it's not something that can really be captured properly in text. I feel I must include an actual clip to give you a taste of what Animated Series Real Doc is like.
What is. wrong with him.
The thing that really gets me (aside from the way he says, "Poisooooonnn...") is the way he smiles after.
Tumblr media
If I didn't know and love Doc Brown, I would be terrified of this man. This could be in a horror movie. The last thing you see before the mad scientist takes you down.
Ultimately, the point of Doc's odd little display is to convey to us that things are not always what they seem. As many of our lead-ins into the cartoon part of the show, this one begins with Verne.
He and a bunch of buddies are gathered at a local baseball field and are ready to start up their game. It's guys only, though, and when two girls express their desire to play, Verne tells them, "Get lost. Girls can't play ball!" He and some of the other boys then start making jokes about how the girls should go fix their hair or do their nails instead. Oh, Verne...
I feel like this is a VERY common thing in 90s shows. The whole "boy discovers girls can play sports/be tough/enjoy the same things he does" was done over and over in TV.
During the game, the ball gets hit out of the field and is caught by a kid sitting on the sidewalk. The kid returns the ball with an amazing pitch, and Verne is instantly impressed. He asks the kid to be on his team, and they immediately form a quick friendship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And with the whole "Verne doesn't want to play with girls" plotline having been immediately established in the first 20 seconds of this episode, let's really consider for a moment where they might be going here, shall we? Verne's just met a kid who plays baseball better than he does and who loves comic books as well. This kid is always wearing a hat. I'm thinkin' Vernie is in for a surprise when he gets to know his new friend better.
While at the comic store, the kids come across a poster for The Bob Brothers All-Star International Circus, and they want to go. The worker at the store informs them that it's an old poster, and the circus happened in 1933 and is now out of business. (Nice reference to "The Bobs" here!)
When Verne's friend (who we don't have a name for yet) expresses disappointment at not being able to see the show, Verne says maybe they can go to the circus. "Can you keep a secret?" he asks. Verne is about to spill the secret of time travel to a kid he's known all of two hours.
He and his friend sneak into the garage and hop into the DeLorean, programming it to the date of the circus and taking off on their little trip. Btw, Doc had been working on the car in that same moment. Doc is UNDER THE CAR when it's driven out of the garage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As they drive along the street, a hand reaches from somewhere behind Verne and he panics, thinking it's Doc. (He hadn't seen him under the car) It's Marty, though! He'd been searching around in the car for something Doc needed in his repairs and has now been taken along for the ride against his will. He also shows absolutely zero concern at seeing Verne's friend sitting in the passenger seat. No "Who is this?" or "Verne, you told someone about time travel?!". Nothing.
The three of them arrive in 1933 and go straight to the circus. They're the only members in the audience.
Tumblr media
They soon discover why the circus went out of business. It's awful. The band plays terrible music, the acts are boring (the "ferocious" lion is asleep during his performance), the tightrope walker is only two feet off the ground and terrified, and the Bob brothers running the show are a couple of clumsy goofballs. Verne, Marty, and Verne's friend are bored to tears.
When it comes time to see the human cannonball, one of the Bobs announces that the act has to be canceled due to a "slight occupational hazard." This is the human cannonball.
Tumblr media
The only way the act can go on is if someone from the audience volunteers to do it themself. Sounds very legal!!!
Marty accidentally volunteers himself to be the cannonball because he picks that exact moment to wave his hands in an attempt to signal the guy selling peanuts. Good going, Marty. He's promptly launched into the air, out of the tent, and crash lands on the DeLorean, sending pieces of it flying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(If you look closely at the sign in the background, it says "Tannen Farm")
After taking a look at the car later on, Marty informs his little buddies of some bad news: the carburetor is cracked. He says he might be able to fix it with a paperclip, though. Verne's friend, who we learn a moment later is called "Chris," is able to help out by offering a bobby pin. Verne is baffled. Why would a boy be carrying around a bobby pin??
As Marty works on the car, Verne and Chris sneak back into the circus, where they overhear a Tannen telling the Bobs that they'll have to pay him double from now on in order to keep using his land. The kids climb a nearby ladder up to a platform so they can get a better vantage point, and a series of wacky events follow. Verne and Chris fall from the platform but grab onto a unicycle and end up riding it across a tightrope, then they fling themselves into a clown car, a runaway tire crashes into a group of acrobats, and so on. Pure chaos.
Once everything is settled, Mac Tannen comes running over to one of his pigs, scooping it up and cuddling it and doing all sorts of baby talk to it.
Tumblr media
"Cleopatra! Poor little baby-wabey. Did the baddy-waddy wittle boys frighten Daddy's itty-bitty piggy-wiggy?"
And you know what? It's kind of endearing seeing a Tannen acting all affectionate and loving toward something. Look at how happy that pig is. She has a bow in her hair!
As a result of all the shenanigans, he ends up telling the Bobs that he now wants triple the rent money, plus extra for damages. If he doesn't get it by the next night, he's going to take over running the circus. Verne and Chris are forced to stay and help out around the place in order to pay back the money for all the stuff they broke. Verne comes up with a plan to get the money rolling in quickly, and he and Chris ride an elephant into town to advertise and give away free tickets. That night, the stadium is completely packed, and Verne tells the Bobs that they'll make a ton of money selling food and souvenirs.
Unfortunately, the sisters who do the trapeze act have just quit, and it's their biggest act of the night. Verne says it's no sweat; he and Chris will do the act because "We can do anything any old girls can do."
Wearing some of Doc's "booster belts", Verne and Chris prepare for their trapeze act debut.
Tumblr media
Marty says they look silly, especially wearing hats, and Verne takes his off. Chris refuses to do the same. Hmmm....
Also, I need to drop another screenshot of Mac with his pig as they sit in the audience.
Tumblr media
The show begins with Chris and Verne, who fly around the air with ease due to their booster belts. The audience goes wild.
(this has nothing to do with the plot, but I want to draw attention to a scene where Mac's skin tone flashes back and forth noticeably)
Tumblr media
I'm truly fascinated by the amount of mistakes and wonky animation in this series. People's eyes and skin change color out of nowhere and the character designs vary episode to episode. There's no consistency at all.
Returning back to the episode, the pair is in the middle of their most daring stunt when Chris's hat flies off and reveals....she's a GIRL! Who could have seen this coming?
Tumblr media
Verne is so shocked that he falls from his own trapeze and begins plummeting to the ground. Chris swoops in and saves him just in time. Once they land and a crowd of people gathers in awe, Verne stalks off angrily.
Outside, the Bobs pay Mac Tannen all the money they owe him, followed by another very obvious mistake. Mac calls to his pig, who appears a moment later carrying an armful of food and souvenirs. A second later all that stuff is gone, and it's just the pig walking away. Holding nothing.
Tumblr media
What was going on in the studio that animated this show??
Over at the DeLorean, Verne is ranting to Marty about how upset he is that Chris was a girl this whole time. How could he have shared so many things he loved with A GIRL?? Marty doesn't get what the big deal is. He says that some of his best friends are girls. "She's still the same person you liked before," he goes on to tell Verne, to which Verne continues complaining. Marty tells him he better knock it off or his friendship with Chris (whose name is really Christine) is going to be over.
With the car fixed, they all pile into the car, where Verne continues to give Chris the cold shoulder for betraying him or something. Idk. Verne is convinced girls have cooties. But the whole reason that Chris hid the fact she's a girl is specifically because it was the only way she could be included in those "boy activities." Verne never would have asked her to play baseball or read comics with him if he'd known from the start.
Once back home, Verne joins his buddies for a game of baseball. As he chases after the ball, he runs into Chris. She hands him the ball, and Verne awkwardly asks her if she wants to play with them. And that's where the cartoon portion ends.
Tumblr media
All is well. Verne has come to his senses and realized that it's okay to have friends who are girls. We don't get to see any scenes of how Verne comes to change his mind, though. It just happens. He's angry at her one moment, then asks her to play 20 seconds later in the next scene. I get that there's very limited time to tell a story in a kids' cartoon, but it would've been nice to see Verne having that moment of, "Hey, maybe I was wrong."
Tumblr media
We go back to Doc's lab, where he reiterates the lesson that appearances can be deceiving. For example, his elaborate setup of tubes and colorful liquids is actually an invention that creates the perfect water balloon. You see, he's preparing for his and Verne's semi-annual water fight, and he's discovered an exact formula that helps the balloons fly further and have the biggest burst ratio.
I love Doc being a dad. Establishing regular water balloon fights with his son and using the power of science to beat him is something he absolutely would do.
And that about does it for this episode! It was okay. Verne was annoying in it, but I liked Chris (I was very much considered a "tomboy" as a kid), and Marty actually came through with some common sense and good advice. Like I said, I feel like I've seen this same kind of storyline a hundred times from various shows and movies. It was a popular one in the 80s through the early 2000s, it seems.
Join me next time as I go into the episode without any prior knowledge, because it's called "Bravelord and the Demon Monstrux" which intrigues me so much that I don't even want to read the episode summary.

Ok, I wanted to get this up for Pride Month, but a lot was going on, including me changing what I wanted to write a few times, but I finally got something!
Tbh I've had a headcanon of trans guy Davis ever since my 02 rewatch a few years back, mostly sparked by an line from the Adventure 02 dub where Davis loudly and happily proclaims himself as "one of the guys" after getting the Digi-Egg of Friendship. I love that moment and it has just, cemented itself as a headcanon for me. So uh, you can check it out at the link, or I'll post it under a read more, and I hope y'all enjoy!
Summary: After an excited outburst the day prior, Davis finally decides to tell their group of DigiDestined just who he is. Tags: Trans Male Character, Coming Out, Post Episode 11 (The Storm of Friendship), Dub names
Yesterday had been exhausting, with rescuing Agumon from the Digimon Emperor— from Ken Ichijouji— and getting a second Digi-Egg. That was just scratching the surface of it, too, considering all the shouting that had gone on between him and TK and him and Matt.
But amidst all the fighting and the chaos and the frustration, there had been one thing that he continued to turn over in his mind ever since they got back to their world.
Tai had called him a good friend. Matt gave him a noogie. It was everything he could’ve dreamed of. In his sheer happiness he couldn’t help but shout out to his partner that he really was one of the guys now.
And that had been burned into his thoughts ever since. Even at dinner, and even well after DemiVeemon had fallen asleep and he stared at the ceiling in the dark.
Tai had always been one of the few people to truly respect him and accept who he was, but to get that same respect from Matt, one of the two coolest people he knew? He really was on cloud nine.
But just as much as he had been on cloud nine, his brain had been in overdrive thinking ever since he had shouted out “I’m one of the guys now!”
Was now the time to tell everyone? Out of all the DigiDestined, only Tai and Kari knew. Kari insisted that the others would accept him, would also still see him the same, but as he was on his way to school, still munching on a piece of toast, he couldn’t help but wonder.
As much as he didn’t like TK, he knew he wasn’t a bad person. Cody was a strange kid who he could never get a read on, but he wasn’t a bad kid by any means— the furthest thing from it, really. And Yolei… Well, she was loud, brash, and liked to rag on him, but only when he aggravated her first. If he told them, it wouldn’t go bad… right? Certainly not like with his dad, right?
It had gone so well with Tai and Kari. He still remembered the after school soccer game he met the siblings at, when he loudly told them his name was Davis and that he was a boy. He had found a hero and a friend in an instant, and whenever there was trouble with his own parents, he was always welcome at the Kamiya household. Maybe the food wasn’t the tastiest, but there was always a lot of it, at least.
He knew he had a friend and supporter in Kari no matter what, but he couldn’t help but be… scared when he thought about telling everyone else.
Kari was standing by the gates to the school, and as soon as he saw her, the smile on his face grew twice as wide and he ran over.
“Hey! Kari!” he shouted to her, putting his hands on his legs to keep himself standing and steady while he caught his breath. She laughed gently at how he nearly tripped over to reach her between the crowd of other students arriving, and as he looked up at her, that beaming smile was still on his face.
“How are you holding up after yesterday?” she asked. Davis let out a long groan.
“Ugh, I’m so tired. Armor Digivolving is tough work.”
DemiVeemon popped his head out of Davis’s backpack, “Hey! I was the one who actually Digivolved!” he squeaked out. Davis turned his head to look at his partner, a guilty, sheepish smile on his face.
W-Well I had to pick up the Digi-Egg!” he stammered out, feeling his face go flush.
Kari couldn’t help but laugh, which caused Davis to get distracted from his playful spat with his Digimon partner.
“What about you?” he asked, shooting her a kind smile.
“I’m alright. I probably could’ve slept all day,” she sighed, “Tai’s doing good, at least. I’m really relieved about that.”
“That’s good, but you should make sure you get your rest! We can take a day off from the Digital World after how badly we just beat that stupid Emperor,” Davis said, clenching a fist in determination, which DemiVeemon copied.
“Do you have to shout about the Digimon Emperor and the Digital World loud enough for everyone to hear?”
Davis recognized Yolei’s voice anywhere, and he felt himself start to deflate from how triumphant he felt just a few moments ago.
She, TK, and Cody walked over, with their own Digimon poking out of their backpacks.
“I swear, with how loud you are, everyone is gonna know about the Digital World,” Yolei sighed. Kari and TK couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I mean, I kind of agree with him about taking the day off,” TK shrugged, “We could use at least one day after dealing with everything that happened with Agumon.
“It would be nice…” Cody mused, putting his hand to his chin in thought, “I haven’t been able to train with grandpa nearly as much lately…”
“Well, thanks for so graciously giving us the day off,” Kari teased. Davis rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
“Well I’m happy to help, Kari! Anytime!” he said, following up with a loud laugh that caused numerous other students to look their way.
Yolei clapped her hands, “Ok! Day off!” she whooped in triumph, before pausing for a moment, her expression slowly fading, “…Ugh, no excuse to get out of work now,” she groaned. Iori patted her on the arm.
“I’m sure you’ll survive,” he told her, voice surprisingly sincere despite Yolei’s overdramatic cries.
The bell rang shortly after, and the group— minus Davis— started to walk towards the school building. Davis shuffled in place nervously, hands clenched as he tried to will himself to speak.
“Are you ok, Davis?” DemiVeemon asked quietly, poking his partner’s shoulder. Davis stayed quiet, sucking in a silent breath.
“H-Hey guys! Hold on a sec!” he shouted out, still glued in place as his friends turned to look at him.
“What’s up, Davis?” Kari asked, pausing as soon as she saw the look on his face.
“There was just, uh… something I wanted to talk about,” he said, voice quiet as he felt his stomach tie up in a knot.
“I don’t want to be late, Davis!” Yolei groaned, letting out a squeak as Kari gently bumped her in the side with her elbow.
Davis took a deep breath, slowly stepping forward as his friends looked at him. This was it.
“So, uh…” Why were words so hard to think of, especially now, especially in this moment? Why had it been so easy with his hero and his crush, but he couldn’t get the words out with his friends? His eyes darted to Kari, who gave him a warm, gentle smile.
“Whatever you have to say, you don’t have to worry. You can talk to us about anything,” she said, in that sweet tone she always spoke with to reassure someone. The same tone she spoke with when he first told her a few years ago.
He could do this.
“So, uh,” he started again, wringing his hands together nervously, “I haven’t told a lot of people this, but I’ve been thinking about it since yesterday, and, uh… I wanted to let you all know that I’m a guy.”
He did it. It suddenly felt like a massive weight was pulled off his shoulders.
“But I thought we already knew that,” his partner said from his perch on Davis’s shoulder. Davis’s face burned crimson, suddenly feeling stupid at the fact that he had basically said nothing.
However, Cody’s eyes shone with recognition, something Davis didn’t catch as he grit his teeth in frustration.
“Wh-What I mean is that, I wasn’t, like, born as a guy, I guess? Like I shoulda been, but I wasn’t, and when I realized that I just started… being a guy. And I was thinking about yesterday with everything that happened and… I just wanted to let you guys know.”
All the students had filed into the school now, just leaving their small group standing there. The silence was deafening, and Davis was mortified that maybe he had messed up. Maybe he shouldn’t have said anything, maybe Kari was wrong and this wasn’t a good idea…
Could they all hurry up and say something already!?
“It’s really brave of you to tell us, Davis,” Cody spoke up finally, “Kari is right, you can tell us anything, and we’ll always be here for you. If anyone gives you trouble, I’ll deal with them for you.”
Cody spoke with such conviction, and Davis couldn’t help but feel warm at how forthright the youngest member of the group was. Davis wasn’t entirely sure how Cody felt about him most times, but a gentle flush crept onto his face at how… nice it felt that he was so kind.
“Hey, wait, I don’t need you to deal with anyone! I can do it myself!” Davis shot back, clenching his hands into fists as he stamped a foot down. Kari couldn’t help but giggle.
“I’m glad you felt comfortable enough to tell us, Davis,” TK said as he strode forward, placing a hand on Davis’s shoulder that didn’t have a Digimon on it. “You’ll always be one of the guys, and you’ll always be our friend,” he added, flashing him a smile.
“Th-Thanks, dude,” Davis said with a shaking voice. Ok, so maybe TK was annoying, and knew Kari way too well, and showed him up with how much he knew about Digimon, but maybe he wasn’t that bad.
Yolei awkwardly shuffled forward, hands clasped behind her back, gaze focused on the ground, unable to meet his eyes. She kicked at the ground, taking a moment of silence before she cleared her throat.
“I’m really happy for you. A-And what they said. And, like, if I ever said anything that like, was rude about it, then I’m really sorry,” she said. Davis raised an eyebrow in confusion at her, then shook his head.
“What? No, you haven’t! Don’t worry,” he said, folding his arms after and shooting her a grin, “I could handle anything you would throw my way, anyways.”
Yolei offered him a weak, lopsided smile, “Well, still, I want you to know that I wouldn’t ever want to like, you know, not respect that.” She paused, “I’ll still give you crap, but not about that. Promise.”
“Thanks.”
“I, uh, need to head to class now,” Yolei said, immediately turning on her heel and sprint off to the school building, “I’ll see you guys later!”
TK gave Davis another pat on the shoulder before he ran off, too, Cody following him at a more relaxed pace. Davis started to walk foward, letting out a content sigh as he met up with Kari.
“I told you there would be nothing to worry about,” she said.
“Hahaha, I knew it would! Totally!” he said, putting his hands behind his head as they made their way along.
“I’m proud of you, too.”
The smile left his heart pounding in his chest, and he gave her a beaming smile, forcing out a laugh. “Th-Thanks, Kari. You know, it always means a lot how much you’ve supported me and stuff So thanks for that, too.”
DemiVeemon poked Davis in the ear, “Hey, I’m proud of you, too!” the small Digimon said.
Davis laughed, “Thanks buddy, that means a lot.”
“I didn’t realize humans could Digivolve, too! We can both Digivolve!” DemiVeemon cheered. Davis couldn’t help but laugh.
“I guess I can, huh? You hear that, Kari? I can Digivolve, too!” he said, laughing louder than before.
Turning into something better and stronger and more… him?
Yeah, he liked the sound of that.

For Donnie requests, if it tickles your fancy:
How about another one set in the tactical universe? (I so enjoyed the one you wrote for Leo when I asked last time)
Maybe a similar format to the last one but, say. Four times reader/OC (who is an art thief or whatever you like) outwits/outlucks/outruns/plain-old-tricks Don and one time he catches her?
But plot twist it was a game all along so it turns sweet or spicy (however you like, I'm down for and/or both)
(Eyyy, a returning customer! We like thay here! You said OC and activated my trap card tho lol)
Bayverse!Donnie and Kara in Tactical AU! (I am almost sure you guys are sick and tired of this ship lmao sorry xD
This one is getting a strong T!
Tactical AU belongs to @donathan
Here are my headcanons for my own spin to it if anyone is interested! And here is a link to Leo's version. Can't wait for someone to request Raph.
@madammuffins @turtle-babe83 @thelaundrybitch @sharpwindow @dilucsflame33 @pheradream15
(if anyone wants in on this list let me know!)
I. This case took him and his brothers all around the world. But it all began in New York after their handler gave them the order.
The Met event was fitting perfectly the M.O. of the thief. Donnie has been preparing himself for this. He studied extensively the previous crime scenes and had to admire the cleverness of it all.
He instructed the ground team on what to look for and how to behave. He himself kept his distance, for obvious reasons. They were going to monitor the event around the clock. The human team during the day, and the turtle brothers at night.
While the guests milled about the museum, Donnie was watching the feed from the cameras closely. This was the second day of surveillance. His sensors weren't picking up any suspicious activities either. Of course, he didn't expect the thief to be bold enough to do something during the day - this didn't fit the profile he built but all good thieves usually tried to scout their targets beforehand.
Donnie sighed and licked his lips. He switched to the computer database of all the security and staff that were currently at the museum. No one in particular stood out. Maybe he was wrong about it being the Met?
Once the gates to the museum closed it was turtle time.
The brothers took over from the day shift. As far as the security knew, they were just some special task force. The ski masks hid their faces and various leather straps disguised the shells as weird backpacks.
"This is so boring," Mikey whined over the comms. "You sure I can't liven up the place a little?"
"If you'd even think of setting off anything-!" Leo's warning resonated sharply in their ears.
The youngest snickered. "Chillax, bro, I was joking."
"Like you did in Budapest?" Raph snorted.
"That was an accident!"
"Let's make sure no more accidents happen," Leo warned him. "Especially not in the Met."
Donnie smiled listening to his brothers' banter as he patrolled the corridor he thought had the highest chance of being hit by the thief.
He listened keenly to any sound that would come his way. The empty corridors would echo them back to him. Unfortunately, it was all silent. Just the sound of his own breath coming back to him and the soft sound of his feet. The brothers were unnaturally quiet for their large size. When they wanted. Mikey usually could be heard three blocks away.
Donnie adjusted his night vision goggles as he entered a new area. He added his own security measures on top of the ones the museum had. There was no way the guy could escape them.
Suddenly one of his sensors tripped. The silent alarm got activated in one room. Donnie turned on his heel and ran.
"We have a hit!" He told the others and directed them to the correct location.
He got there first. Visor focused, looking for anything out of place. Nothing.
"What the-"
Suddenly, another alarm tripped. And another. And another. His whole grid lit up in red and he cursed. That fucker!!
"Donnie, what the hell is going on?!" Leo shouted over the comm.
"He is using my system as a smoke screen!" Donnie shouted back and cursed. He shut it down and popped the standard Met security.
Did he really figure out the system in one day? What the fuck was going on.
"He's in the Maya exhibit!"
"Raph!"
"On it, Fearless."
Motherfucker, Donnie cursed at himself and sprinted. He brought up the schematics of the room on his holoscreen.
"I have the visual!" Raph announced on the comms, which was immediately followed by a string of curses. "Stay still you slippery bastard!" And then. "I lost him but he is heading to the roof!"
Donnie smiled. Predictable.
"I'm on it!"
But then he came to a screeching halt. The fucker was heading to the main door! What?! Ballsy motherfucker.
Donnie jumped down the stairs.
"Freeze!" He got out his gun and fired a warning shot.
The thief didn't stop. Just kept running straight. Donnie followed. Then froze. The figure just passed through the glass door and the terrapin realized he was following a hologram.
"Please tell me one of you got him?" He asked his brothers, breathing heavily, feeling frustration building up.
"I saw him in the Danish exhibit but then he proofed!" Mikey responded.
"I thought I got him by the African exhibit," Leo said, his tone clearly indicating a similar failure.
Donnie cursed.
"You'll get him next time," Leo tried to comfort him.
"Yeah, thanks," he responded. The words were bitter in his mouth.
II. Weeks of intense research and work later the turtles were in Italy. Donnie once again figured out the thief would be there.
All the feed from the Met was tampered with and Donnie worked for hours to fix it. To just get three frames. Thankfully, he had seen the hologram. Raph also had a description, though not very helpful. "Short like a fucking kid and slippery like a weasel," he said. That much Donnie knew.
He managed to estimate the thief's height to be 150cm (about 4'10"). If they were dealing with a rowdy teen the turtle genius was going to be super pissed and impressed.
Right now he was riding on a huge adrenaline rush as he watched the thief through his scope. The guy was running away from Leo, who took the chase.
"I got you," Donnie muttered to himself. He aimed the shot. He wasn't going to kill the thief. Just incapacitate him with some tranquilizers.
It was the end of the road for their target either way. The line of houses ended and only a large plaza awaited. No escape.
The thief faced Leo. Then turned his head and looked straight at Donnie. The mask came off. Green skin - like the yellowing grass in autumn, face and bald, larger than average head dusted with freckle-like spots of various shades of brown, green and yellow. Pointed, pierced ears. The eyes, big, yellow, playful.
The thief winked and… just disappeared.
"Dude!" Mikey's voice activated the Comms. "The thief an alien!"
"Donnie, you okay?" Leo spoke up.
"You missed, nerd," Raph snickered. "So much for Mr. I-Never-Miss," he put on his Batman's voice.
"Shut up Raph," Donnie shot back. He was thinking intensely. She-, he was certain the thief was a she, looked straight at him. She knew his position. She led them to that corner of the street. This was all a game for her! "I need all your guys' phones!"
"Why?" Mikey whined. "I didn't do anything!"
Turns out Mikey did do something. A couple of days before he clicked some link on a website from his phone and that got the thief an entrance into their systems. That pissed off everyone and earned Mikey some extra training and cleaning time as well as a lecture on Internet safety.
What was concerning was that their criminal most likely got into their Top Secret files if she knew how to get to Mikey…. She knew who they were. Meanwhile, they knew nothing of her.
III. Next stop was Egypt. A short jump from Italy. They were going to monitor the Museum of Cairo. Why? Because right before he cleared all their electronics one message went through. “Up for another Caaper?”
When he checked the source it went dead. A burner phone. Now he had a dilemma. Either ignore it or follow… On one hand, it could have easily been a typo. On the other… In Cario there was a wooden statue of Ka-aper from the 5th Dynasty.
He chose to follow and that’s how they ended up there. Was she really going to steal the statue that was about a foot shorter than her? He thought back to the image of her in his mind. Who was he kidding, she absolutely would.
So they were staking out the museum. “Third time the charm, eh, Donnie?” Raph teased.
“Do you guys think she has like a spaceship? With lasers?” Mikey enthused over her. He wouldn’t shut up about the alien bit since Italy.
“You can ask her when we catch her,” Leo told him in a very tired voice.
Donnie didn’t join in on the conversation. He was in the room with the statue. Monitoring the screen, flipping through the feed from the cameras and paying attention to every single alarm there was. He didn’t want to miss any suspicious flicks or changes.
“Donnie, you alright over there?” Leo called to him, snapping him out of his focus.
“Yeah, yeah I’m here,” he responded.
“Anything moving?”
“Not yet…”
Why did she want to steal that particular statue?
Time ticked by… Suddenly he felt someone watching him. He turned around. Yellow eyes, right over his shoulder. He reacted immediately by throwing a punch at her. She was hanging by a rope from the ceiling. Pulling away, avoiding his fist by a hair. She flipped around. He pulled his gun and aimed at the rope. She kicked his hands and vaulted off the wall. He kicked at her legs and she fell on her back with an audible ‘oof’. He tried to grab her but she folded and jumped up to her feet. Punch, evade, retaliate. They danced across the floor.
He had to adapt himself to her small height, throwing him off a little. She had no problem with his.
Suddenly she reached for her belt and threw something at him. He ducked. She jumped again, using his knee as a boost and jumped over his back. He spun around. A puff of smoke in his face and his world went dark.
He didn’t know how long he was out. Mustn't have been long because she was still in the room, finishing up securing the statue to some ropes to pull it up. He groaned and got up.
“Stop,” he said, his voice hoarse. He reached to his thigh and pulled his second gun. Despite the headache his aim was steady.
She turned to him. Smiled. And pressed something on her forearm. A force yoinked him backward. Slamming him against the wall. He gritted his teeth. Magnets? When?, he thought angrily as he watched her ride up on the same rope she came down with.
She winked at him and blew him a kiss. 3-0.
IV. Donnie admitted that he may be a bit obsessed. The woman infuriated him and kind of… He dared not to go where his thoughts wanted.
His memory took him back to Italy and Egypt. Her bright yellow eyes, sparkling with mischief and excitement enthralled him. That confident smirk. He wanted to wipe it off of her face! He wasn’t sure how yet.
She tricked him three times! Them! She tricked them three times! Maybe the fourth time was the charm….
He knew his brothers were making some bets behind his back but he didn’t care.
They were in Tokyo, Japan, this time. She left him another clue in his pants while he was passed out.
His brothers were on the ground, while he stayed behind. Their eagle eyes. She wouldn’t slip past him again!
“I don’t think she’s gonna show up this time bro,” Mikey said. “You almost got her before, you think she’ll show up?”
“Thieves sometimes stop when they get scared but I doubt we scared her enough,” Leo sighed.
Donnie’s phone vibrated. He’d usually ignore it during the mission but this time… He quickly glanced at the screen.
After that one text she sent him before Egypt… Leo would probably yell at him so hard if he knew… But Donnie didn’t fully shut down one channel. He made it possible that if she wanted to contact him he’d be open for it.
And lo’ and behold. There was a text.
Unknown number: こんにちは!(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧ I left you something at this location~! Take it as a reward for almost catching me 4 times now! And thank you for missing in Florence ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎
Donnie jumped up to his feet and cursed.
“What’s up Donnie?” Leo checked in on him.
“I’ll be right back, this is important!” He tried to ease off the incoming protest, but also just in case he turned off his comm.
The attached location led him to a posh bar, just around the corner from the art gallery. He made sure his ski mask was on as he entered the establishment. Of course, all the eyes turned to him. Meanwhile, he only looked for one set of eyes. Unfortunately, she was nowhere to be seen.
“Excuse me,” he asked the bartender in Japanese, “something was supposed to be left here for me?”
The man eyed him, a bit fearfully but nodded. “What drink would you like, sir?”
“I’m just here to pick the item up.” Donnie tried to explain.
“The item is a drink and a letter for you after you get your drink.” The bartender insisted.
Donnie sighed. “Something fruity with rum then.” Why the hell not. Fuck it, they failed again. He might as well drink off the thieves tab. He waited for the drink to arrive before he lifted the mask up a little just enough for him to be able to drink. He took a sip. Damn it was good. He snorted and shook his head. This whole thing was so ridiculous.
As he was in the middle of his order the bartender slipped him a cream coloured envelope with a red lacquer stamp on it. Classy.
He broke the seal and opened the envelope. He read the letter.
Donnie smiled and shook his head. "God damn it."
He turned on his comm, which earned him an earful from both Leo and Raph.
"Guys, she's going to be in New York next," he told them.
"How do you know?"
"She told me," he said, draining the rest of his glass.
V. Was he annoyed that she was stringing him along so much? Probably. Was he excited to finally snap some handcuffs around her wrists? So, so much.
It wasn’t easy to find her. The riddle this time was a bit more complex than the one for Egypt and Japan. Then there was the matter of actually finding her in the urban jungle that was New York.
But when he did… He didn’t tell his brothers. It was his little secret. He didn’t want anyone following him there. He slipped from the compound when everyone else was asleep. The coordinates led him to a red brick building with an industrial elevator.
Thermal scanner told him where she was. He took the stairs as the safer option and climbed. Quietly, like a ghost he entered the large open-space. The wooden floor creaked under his steps and a loud bird attacked him. The creature wasn’t from Earth. It neither cawed nor barked. The noise was offending to his ears nevertheless.
Then a whistle. He saw her standing a couple feet away from him. She extended her arm and the bird perched on it. It had a muzzle and sharp teeth like a dog. scales mixed with feathers and claw tipped wings, almost like a bat. The legs were birdlike all-right. A long tail wrapped around the thieves arm securing it in the spot.
<Hello,> she signed. <I see you finally found me> She smirked.
<Thanks for the hint,> he signed back.
<You welcome.> She stroked the bird’s head and it purred. With a flick of her elbow it flew into the air again and sat somewhere among the pipes.
<So, how do you want to do this?> She asked. <I got some weapons for you to choose from.>
<I brought my own.> He reached to his belt and pulled out his collapsible bō staff.
She regarded him with an appreciative nod. Then she walked up to the wall. She pressed on a brick and a panel dropped down revealing a collection of staffs, spears and other weapons. She picked two thich sticks.
<Escrima?> He asked and she grinned. He got it.
They charged at each other. Blow after blow, the weapons clashed. She was nimble and fast, using her environment to her advantage. He, with the experience from Egypt, handled her better. No more blows that went over her head. She had to block him, make an effort to evade.
He hoped whatever they broke during the fight wasn’t something priceless.
Finally, he had her against the wall. Adrenaline buzzing in his ears. He hasn't won yet though. He knew it. Her golden eyes bore into his. Suddenly, both dropped their weapons and their mouths clashed.
The morning came, brutally invading Donnie’s eyes. He groaned and stirred trying to avoid it. When he couldn’t quite move his arm he looked up. One of his hands was handcuffed to the headboard and he smirked remembering that particular move.
He looked around. Karaa was sitting on the bed, eating a breakfast roll and smiling at him. She reached out and released his arm, which got a bit stiff.
<You’ll need to get dressed, your brothers and major Douche will be here soon,> she signed, smiling her usual impish smile. <Have some breakfast.>
<So, I passed?> He grinned.
<You will get points deducted for teamwork probably but…> she leaned down to kiss him. <I will give you some bonuses for performance.> She wiggles her eyebrows with her best bedroom eyes.
He got lost in their kiss but pulled back when a thought occurred to him.
<You will help me find Splinter?>
They started communicating after Florence. They didn't know at first who they'd be going in the against exercise. It was all part of it. Karaa though she found out things. And also being trapped by the US military she didn't see any objections in helping the boys out.
<Oh, yeah. They will not know what hit them.>

*Text in Japanese above reads: "hello"
So I decided to do this one with the OG version of Kara.
Karaa (how the og spelling is, ye I know super original lol) was first created in 2014 as my Megamind OC. In the fandom we already had whole lot of Blue guys running around and... one Red, that came from desert part of the Meg's planet. I went like, so let's complete the traffic lights set and I made Karaa + the whole lore etc for jungle dwelling aliens of Megamind's planet.
This is how she'd look like. (art by Scarlette and Koda, I'm not sure of Scarlette's current handle it's been a while since 2014 XD)The earrings serve purpose also as disguise generators/cloaking devices.

Here's link to how Pi'ehra, her bird looks like.
I'll probably draw her tactical AU look soon!

“We don't have to go in if you ain't ready”
Edge's frown deepened as it had done every single time before this. Red eyes looking away from him. And he gently kept caressing his face as he gathered his thoughts.
He could see the two sides battle it out in those eyes. The part that wanted to tell what was going on, that longed to. And the other part, the scared part. The protective part for his older brother. The fear he was making a mistake.
He expected to see those eyes fill up with regret once more. But instead for the first time, their gaze met before a decision was reached.
Or
Edge had a secret he wanted to share with his boyfriend. But doing so is not an easy Process. But Stretch is patient he is willing to take this walk a million times if it means his boyfriend trusts him. He just hopes it is enough

He stuck his arms out to keep his balance as he hopped from stone to stone. Being careful not to fall into the water. The wind was howling, as the autumn breeze was setting in. It was cold here, but they soon be around the corner and out of the wind.
He hopped off the last stone and leaned against the large rocks on the other side of the path, Staring at the trees above and seeing the wind shake their leaves loose. Before looking back the way he came to see how far his boyfriend was behind.
Edge was walking slowly, hands deep in his jacket pockets. Starting hard at the sand below. This had been the fourth time in two weeks they had come here. All three previous times they had eventually turned around. He didn’t know what his boyfriend wanted to show. But he knew it was important. But also that it was clearly very, very difficult.
And while he would rather be inside with this kind of weather. He doesn’t care if he has to keep walking this way every day. If it means his boyfriend trusts him. Edge was trying to tell him about a secret he had for years. One that he had been clear about having since the beginning of their relationship.
One that he had felt he could never be honest about. It had surprised him, sure. But the fact that Edge was so upfront with it. Well, that made him trust him. And Edge never had betrayed that trust. But something had shifted lately. And he had a feeling it had to do with Red.
It hadn’t been obvious immediately. It had slowly grown over time. When Red had gotten closer to a certain new skeleton that had rented the cabin on the beach on Solar Island. And he definitely noticed it when it was clear Red was having a huge crush on said new guy.
Sans was good to Red in his opinion. In all the years he had known him. He hadn’t seen Red such at ease with someone who wasn’t Edge. And now that they were together, even if they seemed to be doing their relationship long distance. Red seemed calmer and like something heavy had lifted from his shoulders.
And it was after that, that these trips had started. He had always assumed that the secret had something to do with the brother's past, as they didn’t talk about anything in their past. Espeasily childhood. Whatever had happened. Left both brothers scarred. He only saw a glimpse of Red’s hip scar once. But it was a nasty one.
Edge was covered in them too. Most prominently the two over his eye. He knew they came from two different fights. The bigger one of the two was the one he felt most guilty over. As it had made him pass out, which led to Red gaining his hip scar. The brother's past seemed awful at best. And to haunt them every single day.
He was happy with not knowing if it made Edge feel better. Edge was just as kind to his own secrets. But Edge knew most of his at this point, sparing a few details. That doesn’t mean he isn’t curious. Of course, he was. But his love’s comfort was more important.
Edge movement had slowed even more. His shoulders hinged high up, and stared down at his boots. They were sinking into the mud with every step. He was amazed Edge could walk on these slippery wet rocks with high heels. He gave a gentle smile as his boyfriend finally reached him. But Edge was still looking straight down, Red eyes staring hard like he could burn the stones beneath his feet. He doubted Edge had been paying attention where he had been walking at all. Just stuck with whatever thoughts were obviously plaguing his mind.
He straightened himself. There was a little cave up ahead. Which seemed to be their destination. He saw his boyfriend make eye contact with the entrance. Sucking in a large breath that was slowly released through closed teeth. Making a faint whistling sound.
And just like everything they had done before this Edge seemed to freeze up even more. And he wished he could know what was going on in that handsome head of his. Was it fear? Apprehension? Something else entirely?
Touching him when he was this tense would give him a fifty-fifty shot of getting a bone attack swung his way. But he wanted to do something.
Last time he had stepped too close and spooked his prickly lover. So now he only held out his hand. Edge's eyes snapped to the movement and when his gaze rested on his hands. He wriggled his fingers
“Come on babe, he’s lonely”
Edge snorted and immediately flushed at letting out such an undignified sound. But his equally cold hand grabbed on anyway
“Why did I need to fall for such a dork”
Despite Edge's still tense posture, it was said with a great amount of fondness. So he leaned closer and placed a quick kiss on his sharp cheekbone. Appreciating his boyfriend's eyeliner from up close in the process.
“Cause I am irresistible~ “
Edge shook his head fondly. The hand still holding his own squeezing softly. Eyes hardened once they looked towards the cave again.
Now that he was already holding his hand. He dares to press himself against his side. Trying to make it look like he was just trying to get warm. Instead of offering the comfort that his boyfriend was too stubborn to ask for.
From The Little side eye he got, the ruse hadn't worked. But to his surprise, they kept walking on anyway. They were out of the biting wind. But he kept close anyway.
Their paces slowing down a lot. But neither of them mentioned it. Every once in a while there was a distinct tremble running through Edge and he always soothingly ran his hand over his back after.
He decided to just talk his boyfriend's ear off about nothing important to try and calm both their nerves.
As he was talking about the difficulty he had defeated the boss in his latest game. They came to a stop again, and he trailed off as they were at the entrance of the cave. The farthest they had ever gotten.
Edge looked like he was lost in his mind again. He gently squeezed him but nothing. A gentle nudge. And still nothing.
“Love?”
Edge eyelights flickered a couple of times before looking down at him. There was a tiny unsure frown on his face. The fact that it was able to shine through with how high up his walls were spoke volumes.
He knew that what he was gonna do next would most likely turn them around again. But he couldn't help himself. He cupped his lover's cheek, pulling him in for a soft kiss. Saying as softly as he could
“We don't have to go in if you ain't ready”
Edge's frown deepened as it had done every single time before this. Red eyes looking away from him. And he gently kept caressing his face as he gathered his thoughts.
He could see the two sides battle it out in those eyes. The part that wanted to tell what was going on, that longed to. And the other part, the scared part. The protective part for his older brother. The fear he was making a mistake.
He expected to see those eyes fill up with regret once more. But instead for the first time, their gaze met before a decision was reached.
Edge’s socket widened as their eyes met. He didn't know what he was showing his love. Just trying to be as non-judgemental and open as possible. He was already so proud that they had gotten this far Edge’s eyes seemed to get a determined little sheen in them and he was pulled into a firm hug.
He quickly warped his arms around his boyfriend's torso as he was squeezed closer.
“I know”
It took him a few seconds to realise Edge was responding to his earlier question. And one hand rubbed firmly across his back. And he buried his face against his boyfriend's jacket. And Edge spoke up again.
“I know…but I wanna keep going”
Edge pulled away again and leaned down to kiss him. He melted into it quickly. It felt like it said ‘thank you’. And ended it with nuzzling their foreheads together affectionately.
It was such an innocent affectionate gesture. But it always made him smile just as bright as any kiss would.
Slowly they made their way into the cave that grew darker by the minute as the sun from the entrance faded away. He summoned a blue attack to at least see where they stepped. His grip on his lover's hand tightened, making sure not to lose him in the dark. As the walls around them grew damp.
As they turned a corner there seemed to come a blue-greenish glow coming from the end. He let out a soft gasp of surprise and moved a bit faster. Trying to come closer.
Edge let go of his hand as he moved forward and he immediately stopped and turned around. He wasn't able to see his lover's face clearly with just the light of his attack. And he feared that his excitement might have been a mistake.
“Go on, I will be right behind you”
If it had been any other time. His love for science and discovery would have made him nod and run off. Edge would have followed with a fond shake of the head.
But nothing about today was normal. But if he went back to how they were walking before Edge might take it as him thinking he was weak.
He didn't want that. But rushing off seemed a bad idea as well. Somehow a third idea managed to come to him just as those red eyes seemed to harden. As he walked backwards at a normal speed.
“Don't you wanna see my reaction? Just tell me when to turn around”
He got a soft glare as Edge knew he was being handled around his fears but seemed to not be able to deny him. As he followed him their gazes locked.
Every crunching step seemed to echo around them filling his nerves. but he trusted Edge with everything he had. He knew nothing bad would happen.
The room around them grew brighter and brighter and he was able to see his boyfriend's tense frame once more.
“Stop”
And he did and grinned as Edge walked up to him the last of the way. Edge stared past him before staring at his eyes again. The determination from before seemingly getting stronger. And if made his soul beat fast.
It seemed Edge was sticking with his decision and not turning back anymore. He really hoped so. So finally Edge can feel free of his burden. Whatever this was gonna be he knew that it was not gonna change his feelings for his boyfriend. He has been with him for a little over two years. And he was planning on making it many more.
Edge grabbed his wrist pulling his hands up and placing a soft kiss against them. And he tries not to flush.
“Do you trust me”
Edge whispered. And without missing a beat he replied
“With everything I got”
One corner twitched up. Fear was creeping in his love's eyes again but he kept going.
“I just need a moment. Can I trust you not to look, not until I tell you”
He wondered what Edge needed to do. But he'd do anything he needed.
“Of course. I'll close my eyes as well just to be safe”
Edge opened his mouth but seemed to think better of it, and questioned
“Can you promise not to look around no matter what you hear”
He frowned and Edge got a worried look. He twisted their hands so now he held onto his love’s wrist and gave his hands the same kind of kiss
“I…I wish I could, but I WILL turn around if the sounds make me think you are getting hurt…”
He trailed off and his love’s eyes had gone through several different emotions with his statement. But in the end, it settled on fond. Edge stepped closer and kissed him.
It made him let out a surprised gasp just before his teeth joined allowing Edge to slip his tongue in and firmly hold onto his waist. His own hands ended on his shoulders but just as his wits returned to him. His boyfriend pulled away from him with one last soft squeeze of his hips.
“Then Close your eyes”
And he did. Edge let out a shuddering breath and he felt one more kiss against his cheek. Hearing Edge walk past him. The heals crushed against the gravel before coming to a stop.
He hates that he was focusing on every sound his love made. Instead of patiently waiting. He tried to distract himself by focusing on any of the other noises.
The sound of dripping water from the walls. Some hitting rocks, others filling in puddles. Big and small. One of them seemed really big. He wondered if he could calculate how big it was on sound alone
The sound of a zipper echoed loudly. Was Edge taking off his shoes? Why would he? Unless maybe he thought he had to climb on something and it wasn't safe.
But he had seen his boyfriend walk even the Steepest of cliffsides in those heels. So unlikely. Then came more sound of the rustling of clothing. And he was growing a bit worried. But it didn't sound like he was in danger. After another minute or so the sounds stopped.
And it was silent. And as the silence continued he called out.
“Sugar?”
It was a nickname he used rarely. And it was a shame he couldn't see Edge’s handsome face flush so prettily as he said it. But it would convey his love and worry with just one word. He heard some bones rattle.
“Almost…just…”
There was another sharp exhale. And he stayed silent. Trying to keep his posture relaxed so that Edge could take the last step.
He heard something slide into some water. He wondered what Edge had put in. He was getting confused. But now that he had heard it. It was clear that some of the light he saw was from the water.
There was a faint sound. It was familiar. He hadn't heard it in years. And it was most likely something most people wouldn't pick up on. But he had heard it anytime his brother and he had gone to the ocean.
Any time they had decided to play by the reefs. As Blue dove into the water, taking him with him as the bubbles surrounded them. But he was probably mistaken. Caught in the moment of being in such a familiar space as they went to as children.
There was another moment of silence.
“You…can turn around”
Edge sounded further away than before. And he opened his eyes slowly getting adjusted to the light. And spinning around.
The first thing he noticed was the pile of neatly folded clothes placed on a dry rock. Edge heels standing next to them. And his soul beat faster.
But he couldn't see Edge even though this was where he had heard him go. He looked through the rest of the cave. It was filled with glittering blue and green stones. There was light from above peaking in through cracks hitting the water and the rocks reflecting all around.
And in the middle of the water was Edge. The water coming up to his collarbones. His eyes stared up at him intently, seemingly bracing.
And he saw why, as the water was clear enough to see what had changed. Edge legs had disappeared to be replaced with a beautiful red mer tail.
He had been right about the sound he released and kept staring at him in awe. Frozen in place
“Stretch..”
He must have been silent for a while. And hearing his boyfriend's confused voice shook him out of his frozen state.
Edge had one hand wrapped around his ribs. A self-comfort thing he had seen him do when he got really scared after a nightmare. He broke into a run and jumped into the water.
The water was cold but far from freezing.
“Stretch! “
But he quickly swam towards his boyfriend grabbing his shoulders the second he was near enough and firmly kissed him.
It had clearly surprised Edge by the way his mouth was still against his own. And they both sank under the water as Edge forgot to keep himself up. His hands came across his hips gliding over the scales. Smoothing them gently.
Hands came up to his bare ribs because his hoodie had filled with air and was floating up. He could feel the tremble of magic beneath his mouth. The shaky hands against his bones.
He pulled away and stared deeply into Edge's eyes. Whose eyesight had grown wide as saucers.
“Babe you look so beautiful!”
He pulled away staring down at his love's tail. Letting himself sink further as he soothed his hands over his scales
“They are still so shiny! Especially if you don’t swim much. They are almost as bright as your magic!”
He kicked his legs to swim around him.
“Oh, I never seen a dorsal fin shaped like that! It is so sharp…can I touch it? Ah, I probably shouldn't. I didn't see your scars sorry.”
He was absolutely mesmerized by his boyfriend's look. He was one of the most beautiful Mer he had ever seen.
“H-how?…what?”
Edge mumbled confused He kicked himself back upright. Holding onto his boyfriend's arms. Smiling back at Edge's bewildered face. And he gave a sheepish look back.
“Sorry, was that too much? I meant every word I swear. It has just been so long since I-”
“How….? are you doing…? this…?”
Edge interrupted him and he tilted his head not sure what he meant. Edge's hands squeezed at his arms.
“How…are your breathing?…how do you know what this is?…any of this…? I thought I would need to explain…but”
There was a worry in his voice. Like his mind couldn't comprehend what he was seeing. And he suddenly realised his last secret was coming out as well.
“My mom was a Mer”
He stated softly.
“Your…mom was…?”
Edge repeated and he saw the gears turning in his head.
“So you're…half mer?”
He gave a shrug
“probably less.. 'cause I can't transform like my brother could. But I can breathe underwater…to a certain extent. After a while, my chest starts to really hurt and I have to get some air.”
He rambled on as Edge's eyes widened and he gasped softly as he seemingly realised something.
“You're brother…he wasn't kidnapped…he was…”
He smiled sadly and gave a nod. Talking about his twin always made him sad. It always felt like some part of him was missing. He had told Edge what happened to him, the same way he told everyone else. A bit more detailed perhaps. But changing it the same always. Just like he promised his dad. Besides he wouldn’t want to risk anyone else having to through what he and his father did.
“Poached…it wasn’t a car that stopped by the road and grabbed my brother. But a fisherman's boat. My mom tried to stop them…but got caught as well. Doesn’t make the screams any different”
Edge’s look grew more mortified. Just like the first time he had told this story, even as he had changed the details.
“The proof of their deaths…”
He gave another grim nod.
“Records of the parts they had sold…and when we….”
He took in a shuddering breath and tried to continue.
“I…didn't lie about me and dad finding mom's…”
He trailed off choking as he tried to block out the image of his mom's body as they found it. His dad's anger and grief strike cries are something he could never forget.
Edge pulled him in a hug. Hand holding the back of his skull. A gentle kiss against his cheek.
“Hush…you don't have to explain further. I get it”
He held onto his boyfriend's ribs leaning into the hug. Then with a smile he gently nuzzled their foreheads together. Realising they had been using a mer tradition to show affection for years.
“I’m sorry for not telling you Edge. But after we found out what happened. My dad could hardly look at the ocean…let alone speak about it. I never forgot why they died. But…I swore to keep it secret for him. Just-”
Edge cut him off with a soft kiss.
“I get it…I'd be the biggest hypocrite for getting angry at you for that”
It was followed by another soft kiss. And his own eyes widened in surprise.
“Oh my fucking god. I am so sorry. We came here because this was your secret and now I have kept rambling on about mine. But just. I was so happy to see you like this. To share with you this part of my life I thought I had buried but had loved so much. I am doing it again I shut up now and-”
Edge's shoulders started shaking and his hands flailed up. Cupping his love’s cheeks ready to apologise. Only to realise that Edge was laughing not crying.
Two hands came to his own face gently caressing beneath his cheekbones.
“I knew you wouldn't judge me. But still, you always have a better reaction than I ever expect.”
His face flushed a dark orange at the words. And he gave an embarrassed chuckle. Gently pressing their foreheads together once more.
“I’m glad you’ve trusted me enough to show me”
He whispered his hands trailing back down to gently squeeze Edge’s shoulders again. It also made floating next to him much easier.
“It was never a matter of not trusting you…just..”
Edge let out a sigh
“Keeping a promise to Red?”
Edge's eyes shut and nodded.
“I understand his fear. He got hurt so much more than me. He had to fight at least 3 other Mer, if not more to keep us alive. I was passed out through most of it. But I still remember waking up with the pain in my skull. And Red was bleeding all over almost passing out trying to take care of me. And then afterwards having to carry him because of his injuries, everywhere we went until we found somewhere safe. And it wasn't like our lives had been easy before that. I…”
He trailed off. Clearly struggling with how much he wanted to tell. Probably painful to remember. And despite everything. Properly Still feeling like he was betraying part of Red's trust by telling him this at all.
He wondered if Edge felt guilty for even mildly enjoying his mer form if he did at all. Like he felt bad for wanting to go back and see part of the life Red had saved them from.
He nuzzled closer. Pressing a kiss against the scars that ran over his boyfriend's eyes.
“You don't gotta explain everything now. It can wait. The fact that you show me this is enough”
Edge frowned harder
“I can't just be like, this is what I am and not explain anything about why I kept it secret. That's… that's not fair, I should at least-”
He cut him off with another soft kiss
“As I keep telling you. You owe me nothing. Only tell me what you are comfortable with sharing with me.”
Edge was still frowning. And he smiled patiently at him. Leaning forward nuzzling their foreheads together.
“if you really wanna tell me something. You can share a happy memory. That's allowed too. Or maybe one you had to change the details off when speaking of it before”
Their eyes met again. His boyfriend still looked apprehensive but grateful. He took a look around. Seeming calmer and pulled him closer.
“I think I might have said about being obsessed with a waterpark as a child”
He nodded, resting his head on his love’s shoulders
“You have, Red had to always go after you for trying to get into the bigger kid's slides. I assume there was no waterpark”
Down below, Edge’s tail slowly curled around his ankle. And he likes the smooth feeling against his bones.
“There wasn't indeed. There was a grotto with a lot of fast currents. And he didn't like me playing in those”
He started laughing. The image of a younger Edge sneaking off was hilarious. And just tumbling through the currents with a big Grin was downright adorable.
“My brother tried to take me to such a place once but Mom stopped us. Said it was a dangerous place for a normal monster”
There was a kiss against his head along with an affectionate nuzzle.
“Sounds like a smart woman. I hate to admit that my brother was right about them being dangerous. But they were. And that's coming from someone who has the tail strength to fight them unlike you”
He playfully pushed against his boyfriend's chest.
“You calling me weak?”
He called out playfully. And his boyfriend's grin turned sharper showing off those beautiful canine teeth.
“Just lacking dearest”
The words dropped with mockery And he met the challenge head-on
“I am better at this than you'd think. You would have a hard time catching me”
Edge's eyebrow raised sceptically.
“You underestimating my hunting skills?”
He said with no real venom. And that made him wiggle free from his boyfriend's hold.
“Prove it”
He gave his boyfriend a little smirk before letting himself sink to the bottom of the pool. It clearly caught him off guard as it took a second before Edge sharply turned to launch after him.
He knew he would have nothing on his boyfriend on speed. But he was able to slip out of tight corners easily. Making his boyfriend forced to turn around and launch at him again.
And it was fun being hunted in the water, reminded him of playing with his brother. But while that had been playful.
This…this held the air of someone different. Something that was clinging to the back of his mind like he should know but didn't. But he was too busy egging on his boyfriend to pay much attention to it.
Wanting to keep those ruby-red eyes all for himself. Wanted that focus on him and him alone it was addicting.
But he couldn't keep evading him forever. Eventually, he was pinned against a large rock with a growl. And he surrendered in his hold.
Making those sharp eyes look so satisfied. Yet still so hungry. He titled his head aside without question, not even really thinking about it. Just knowing he wanted it.
Edge hangs still for a second longer before launching forward. And he felt sharp teeth dig into his bones. His head knocked back harshly against the rocks behind him with a moan.
His hands dug harshly into his lover's scapula. Even leaving thin scratches that he knew his boyfriend loved.
Edge's tail was rubbing and gliding against his hips and legs, so he warped them around him. Trapping him further against himself.
There was a growl of approval against his neck. And then he could give his bones give further under his love's mouth. He smelt the faint send of marrow when he was released.
Edge's tongue lapped against his new mark while his own hands kept gliding down between his tail and bones. Digging between scales, smoothing out others.
Just to fill him twist more against him. And his magic gave an interested stir. But the pressure on his chest was increasing. So with difficulty, he pulled his head back to look his lover in the eyes. And pointed up.
The glazed hungry look disappeared slowly and the arms that had been pinning him in place warped around him. Pulling him tight against Edge as he quickly swam up.
He had barely a second to enjoy the water rushing past them as they broke the surface and he launched into a coughing fit.
He was glad Edge was still holding him up as it kept going. He had to relearn how to surface properly. But for now enjoyed the soothing hands against his back. As Edge settled on the swallow end of water pulling him against himself.
It took a few minutes to get his heaving breaths under control. But once he managed still panting harshly he met his boyfriend's worried gaze below him.
He slid his knees on either side of his hips. Resting on his love's tail. And gently cupped his face and pulled him into a salty kiss. Holding nothing back pouring all the magic, feeling and whatever else he could into this one gesture.
Edge returned after a brief shocked second. Fingers dug into his neck as he was pulled down. Tongues slipping past each other into the other's mouth. The little sounds of grunts and moans between them.
All of it made his soul soar. He wanted to get closer. Run his hands over his boyfriend's body until he had investigated everything this new form had to over. He wanted those teeth on him marking him up as his own forever and ever. And return the favour.
He licked off some drops of water that fell from his love's jaw. Before leaving a kissing trail towards his neck. Shivering against the cold autumn air around them.
Edge pulled away suddenly staring at him wide-eyed. He wondered what got him so alarmed when he said.
“You jumped into the water fully clothed! You are gonna catch a cold!”
And he couldn't help himself as he burst out laughing. And his boyfriend glared at him.
“I am serious Stretch. You got no towel or anything. We are going home so you can get warm”
Laughs were still shaking his body. Leaning closer Whispering against his neck
“But you were keeping me hot~”
He saw his boyfriend's blush increase tenfold as it wasn't exactly a lie. And he was sure his lover could feel that by how pressed together they were.
But still, in the next second, he was lying on his back in the water. Edge's hands pinned his wrist down with a flush. Then surprisingly gently brushed their teeth together.
“Maybe next time” was whispered against them as Edge pulled away. And he felt himself melt. As Edge made his way towards his clothes.
He stared up dazed at the ceiling. Trying to block out the images of next time and dragging his boyfriend back into the water with him right this second.
Slowly he sat up, seeing his boyfriend towel himself off. Trying to get dry enough to transform back. And watching him brought a smile to his face.
He was lucky that he had gotten such a gorgeous monster all to himself. All his, and he was Edges. His hands trailed over the mark on his neck.
Still tender and hot. Oozing with lovingly possessive intent. A word came to him seemingly echoing from the back of his mind.
One that made his slightly flushed face turn another shade of orange.
Mate
His mind went over the last several minutes. And he blushed even darker. Had…had they unintentionally started a mating ritual? It got interrupted sure.
But had they? His hand trailed the mark again. It wasn't a claiming bite. He had felt his mom’s. There was a certain intent that was missing still.
But he knew he wouldn't have stopped it. Fuck his soul was doing flips just thinking about it. He would welcome it.
He was so dazed about it that he hadn't noticed Edge was done. Until he felt a cold hand against his forehead and stared at those beautiful legs before looking up. Edge was frowning
“We gotta get moving with his warm you are”
Edge murmed. The hands gently tugging on his shoulders to encourage him to stand up. Which he did, but did not speak as all he could do was stare.
Edge's eyes worryingly further as he stayed silent.
Grip tightening on his hands. And Edge started tugging him along. As they reached the dark part of the cave. He couldn't keep his mouth shut anymore
Repeating that single word that had been echoing in his mind.
“Mate…”
Edge stopped abruptly and he crashed into him. Nearly sending them both to the floor. But they remained upright. But as he was so close he warped his arms around his lover pulling him against his torso.
It was too dark to see anything. Could only feel his tense frame. And buried his head in his shoulder. His breath most likely fanning across Edge’s neck
They both stayed silent. Suddenly both were as tense as Edge had been before they entered. And with a trembling voice, he mumbled
“We almost…” be he couldn't continue
Just held his lover tighter. He didn't regret that it happened. Not a single bit. Maybe he was even kind of sad that it hadn’t been completed.
But they should talk. Right? They should? But neither of them did, they just held on. Slowly and carefully he felt Edge hand rest on top of his.
“I…was caught in the moment…i do-”
He squeezed tighter and cut him off before Edge could finish
“I do…want “
His eyes were closed, holding Edge tighter, hands trembling.
“I wish..you..”
Edge suddenly tried to pry his hands away and his soul sank. Until he felt those hands on his cheeks pulling him into another heated kiss in the dark. And he responded with a groan.
All the magic against him screamed a chorus of ‘yes yes yes’. And he met in kind until Edge wretched himself away once more
“We do it properly “
Edge growled against his mouth. He groaned in agreement. Pressing their teeth together once more with a searing kiss. He could feel himself grin stupidly as they pulled away
“I would love that.”
His soul was racing and his head was spinning. It felt like he was floating. This was something he never thought he could have Never even a distinct possibility. But now that it was within his grasp. He wanted it. He desperately wanted to call Edge his mate. His everything.
They have been together for two years. This would just prove it. And in a way that properly meant more to both of them than marriage could. As it signified the end of hiding.
Edge's arms were trembling ever so slightly. And he pulled him close once more. Embracing him tightly and he got the same tight grip in return.
After swaying in place for a few seconds. Edge stepped away and tugged him towards the entrance of the cave. And the only thing he could do was let himself be dragged along.
When the wind hit them again when they stepped out. he saw Edge suppress a shimmer. And he realised with his embrace he had left wet patches all across his boyfriend's front and back
He would have laughed if he hadn't been interrupted by a sneeze making Edge drag him back to their car faster.
He wasn't surprised at all when, from a distance, he saw Red standing right next to their car looking tense.
But his posture relaxed as they got closer. As Edge had pulled him close to himself to keep him from getting colder he couldn't tell the looks the brothers were sharing.
But by the time he reached him, Red wore his normal sharp carefree grin. Eyes lingering on the mark on his neck
“You had fun splashing around?”
He turned his face slightly. Kissing Edge’s cheek while keeping eye contact with Red.
“Immensely”
The eyes narrowed before nodding with approval. Before he opened the backseat door.
“Get your asses in there. “
Seemed Edge wanted to protest about Red driving his car. But one glare and raised eyebrow later. Both of them were in the backseat.
He shouldn't be surprised that a couple of towels were thrown their way after Red climbed in himself. But it did make his soul stutter for different reasons
Red trusted barely anyone. So he knew this one action was saying a lot. He laid his head on Edge's shoulders who quickly pulled him close kissing his forehead.
“Oi, No making out in the backseat”
Even without looking up, he could see Edge roll his eyes.
“You’re one to talk, focus on driving asshole”
He let out a quiet chuckle as things fell back into normalcy. He felt himself stare at Red. And he briefly wondered what his mer form looked like. But he doubted he would ever see it.
He wondered about Sans and the recent change in his and Red’s relationship. Had Red been found out? Was he like him or like them? It didn't really matter in the end.
He nuzzled closer to his lover. Eyes closing and mumbled
“I hope you wanna go back soon”
The hands holding him pulled him closer
“I do, I really do”
He smiled draping his arm across Edge's chest. Feeling the soft soul beat beneath his fingers. The seat belt was digging awkwardly against his hip but he didn't mind.
“I used to go to the coral reefs with my brother, think we could do that as well?”
It felt like Edge was trying to pull him onto his lap even with the seatbelts preventing him to.
“Whatever you want”
His hand sneaked up further trailing his boyfriend's collarbone once, twice and muttered softly
“You know what I want?”
He felt the heat above him rise. Especially when he gently pinched the bones.
“What did I just say about making out back there!”
He heard Red growl and he laughed opening one eye lazily meeting the older skeleton's eye in the rearview mirror.
He debated saying anything. But he doubted they would keep what they were playing on doing from Red’s noisy protectiveness for long. Besides Edge wanted to do it properly. He could at least hint at it.
“We ain't doing anything, just stating a claim for later”
Red eyes narrowed further. As they did every time he made a slightly dirty joke involving Edge. But Red’s eyes snapped to his brother as Edge let out a groan at his pun.
“It ain't even the same thing”
Edge mumbled and that was the reaction he hoped for as he saw Red’s eyes widen. Gaze Lingering on the mark on his neck with a different look than before. Before traffic stole his attention once more
He Saw a million questions happen behind those eyes. Reaching conclusions that he seemed confused by. But he stayed quiet. Closing his eyes once more and leaning into his boyfriend muttering softly
“Sorry, hope you don't mind”
“Not at all, like I said properly”
His smile brightened. Squeezing his boyfriend closer.
He was gonna enjoy their time here. Until he would most likely be bombarded with questions later.
For now, they both were gonna enjoy the surprisingly nice outcome of Edge’s secret

The Retreat - Winchester Brothers Imagine (Supernatural/Criminal Minds Crossover)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: The Retreat
Pairing: Winchester Brothers X Sibling!Reader, Spencer Reid X Platonic!Reader
Word Count: 2,382 words
Warning(s): none that I know of
Summary: (Season 10, Episode 8) Spencer and (Y/n) get invited out to a Sheriff's retreat on behalf on the B.A.U. Of course, no trip could ever be that easy.
Author's Note: Remember when it was said that Spencer was supposed to be bi, but his crush on J.J somehow made that impossible? Yeah, that's gonna be my villain origin story. This is justice for bi Spencer.
I really just wanted this to be cute. Nothing else mattered to me.
MORE ABOUT THIS OC HERE
Hey! I did a rewrite of the ending of Supernatural. It took a really long time to complete, so it would mean a lot to me if you check it out. Here’s a link! (it’s on my personal account)
-----------------------------
"Wonder why Hotch wanted us to come out here," Spencer asked as we got out of the car.
I shrugged as we grabbed our bags, "Don't know. Maybe we're the shiny new faces of the B.A.U."
Spencer scoffed as we walked in.
"That and you're a certified genius," I added.
We walked up to a table being run by a blonde sheriff. I put on a kind smile and pulled out my badge.
"Hello there," I said. "Agents Campbell and Reid. We're the speakers sent by the B.A.U."
"Oh, yes," she smiled widely at us after marking our names on a list. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Donna Hanscum. I'm a sheriff out in Stillwater, but I grew up here. If you need any advice on where to eat and stuff, I'm your gal."
"Nice to meet you," I grinned, grabbing the information from her. "Where are we staying?"
"Oh, those stairs just behind you will take up to all of the rooms," she pointed behind us.
We both looked back at it for a moment before looking back at her. When we did, she was holding out two suckers for us.
"Thank you," Spencer said, a little awkwardly as we both accepted.
"I am just so excited to hear your talk," she explained. "You two are easily the biggest names here."
I chuckled and looked down for a moment, "Thank you."
I turned around when the door opened.
"Jody," I said when I saw who it was.
She looked up from her broken suitcase and immediately relaxed when she saw me. I walked over and hugged her, carefully moving my bag so I didn't hit her.
"God, it's good to see you, (Y/n)," she replied.
"How are you," I asked as I stepped back. "How are Claire and Alex?"
"Good and... getting there," she nodded. "I think we're getting there, y'know?"
"Good," I said. I looked over and waved Spencer over. "Jody, this is Spencer Reid. We work together at the F.B.I. Spencer, this is Jody Mills. A complete badass."
"Oh, thanks," she chuckled at the compliment. "Nice to meet you, Spencer."
"Nice to meet you too," Spencer nodded.
"Come on, let's go get settled so we can start looking around," I shoved Spencer toward the stairs. "I'll talk to you later, Jody!"
"Later!"
--time skip--
Most of the conference went just fine.
Most of the people there were nice enough. They seemed to be actually interested in what Spencer and I were going to speak about. People were kind and it was going pretty well.
Except for Donna's ex. That guy was a tool. Nothing could change my mind.
However, when news started spreading about a body being found, I knew something was going to go downhill.
We had met up with Jody and Donna when we first heard about it.
"Eaten," I asked the sheriff who had told us. "Sorry, Campbell and Reid, F.B.I."
"Yeah, eaten. Like just the peach pit kind of eaten."
"Any idea what did it," Jody asked.
"Coroner's saying animals out of the woods," he shrugged. "Bobcats and whatnot. No wonder Sheriff Cuse was so out of sorts back there. Got all of this to sort out."
Jody and I looked at each other for a moment.
"Do attacks like that happen a lot in this area," Jody looked at Donna.
"Heck no," she said immediately. "When I lived here, we kept our critters in check. Did it leave any track... hairs?"
"Not even a claw mark on the body," the man replied.
"Crap," I whispered.
"I'll be right back," Jody walked off.
I followed her outside. She pulled out her phone.
"I'm calling your brother," she told me as I made it over. She froze up when she saw Spencer.
"He knows," I answered.
"Why does he-"
She cut herself off when he answered the phone. I listened to them make small talk. Apparently, Sam didn't call Jody when he tracked Dean down after the whole demon ordeal. We ended up leaning on her car.
"Listen, this may not be your kind of thing, but a body was found here this morning, and something had gone to chow town on it," she explained.
I didn't hear any of Sam's responses.
"Worse, I'm hearing that all the flesh had been eaten down to the bone. Any ideas?"
"Nah, it's okay, I can handle it. I've got (Y/n) and their buddy, Spencer, so I'm not alone. I promise I'll call if it gets to be something I can't."
"Screw you, Winchester."
She hung up soon after that.
"We should head to the coroner's office," she suggested.
"We can't," Spencer checked his. "Our talk is gonna start soon. We can't just leave."
"Text us any updates," I said. "We only have the one talk and then we're free."
"Good luck," she replied, going to get in her car.
"Let's go, Reid," I nodded back toward the building.
I could never have a normal trip, could I?
--time skip--
I spotted Sam and Dean as soon as they walked in the next day. I sighed at them and walked over, Spencer right behind me.
"Jody told you we had it handled," I said.
"I was going crazy in the bunker, (Y/n)," Dean explained. "I needed to do something."
I sighed before stepping forward and hugging him. He had been through a lot of shit recently. I had to at least try to be understanding.
"How are you doing," I asked after stepping back.
"Better," Dean nodded. I grinned. He looked over at Spencer. "Hey, Spencer."
"Hi," he grinned. He looked over at Sam and immediately seemed more nervous. His voice was suddenly quieter as he awkwardly waved. "Hi."
"Hey," Sam seemed awkward too.
Dean and I shared a look. These two again.
"I said I could handle it," Jody said as she walked over.
"Yeah, we got the speech," Dean replied as she hugged him. "Nice to see you, too."
She hugged Sam quickly before stepping back, "I'm heading to the morgue, want in?"
"We just came from there," Sam said.
"And?"
"And flesh was eaten off the second victim too," he explained.
"Anything missing?"
"His wallet, why," Dean asked.
"Because I think a belt was missing off the first kid," Jody mentioned.
"Why take souvenirs when you're dumping the body in plain sight," I asked. "The scene looks like it's done out of hunger, but the robbing... that's very different."
"Could robbing be an afterthought," Spencer asked. "If it was about souvenirs, the killer would take the same thing each time."
"Stealing out of necessity," I replied. Spencer nodded.
"Are you two profiling a monster," Dean whispered.
"It works," I shrugged. "Most monsters have an element of human to them."
"Jodio, you take sugar?"
We all paused to look over at where Donna was standing. She was making her and Jody some coffee.
"No," Jody replied awkwardly. "No sugar."
"Okeydokes," Donna called over again.
Dean, Sam, and I bit back laughs while Spencer just grinned.
"Jodio," Dean asked.
"It's... don't ask," Jody shook her head and looked down.
"Wait a sec," Sam hit Dean's arm. "Isn't that Donna?"
"Fat-spa Donna," Dean nodded.
"You guys know my stalker?"
"Fat-spa," I asked.
"She nearly blew a case for us last time," Dean explained.
"I haven't been able to shake that ray of sunshine since I got here," Jody muttered. "She's actually been pretty helpful, but, you know, it's just tough keeping her out of this nightmare stuff, you know?"
"And her ex is a tool," I muttered.
"You mind distracting her while we poke around," Sam asked Jody.
She crossed her arms over her chest, "You show up, and now I'm a babysitter?"
"Look, she hasn't gotten mixed up with this crap yet," Dean said. "Let's just try to keep it that way."
Jody sighed, "Fine. But if she tries to show me her sticker collection, I'm out."
"Agent Frehley, Agent Criss," Donna said as she walked over. The two of them greeted her. "I thought that was you! Ain't this a kick in the pants? Have you guys met Agents Campbell and Reid?"
"Well, we don't get a lot of chances to work with other teams," Dean lied through his teeth. "Just happened to cross paths."
"What dragged you two in then," she pushed.
"Well, we can't talk about it," he lied again.
She nodded, "Oh, yeah. I hear ya. Anything I can help with?"
"Oh, no, no, nothing," Sam insisted.
Jody managed to drag Donna off to the gear expo.
"So, what now," Spencer asked.
"Who's the... main sheriff here," Dean asked.
"Cuse," I answered. "Be careful though. He has my boss's number. Don't give him a reason to call it."
They nodded and went to walk off.
"What about us?"
"We play it cool," I replied. "Steer clear of them. That way, no one can accuse us of overstepping and our team doesn't get any crap."
He nodded.
"So... let's go do some networking at the gear expo."
"Sounds like a plan."
--time skip--
We could really only hide the truth from Donna for so long.
She had spotted a potential attack in action, so they kind of had to explain everything to her.
Spencer and I only headed outside when I got a message from them about Sheriff Cuse.
"A vampire," I asked when we got to the group.
"These two are in on it," Donna asked.
"Well... Spencer's not, really, he found out on accident... like you did," Sam explained.
"I'm Sam and Dean's sibling," I added.
"Really," she asked.
I nodded before looking at the boys, "What do we have?"
"Donna got an address that could be something," Dean said.
"It's the only lead we got," Donna chimed in.
"'We'," Sam repeated. She nodded. "All due respect, sheriff, but vampires are far more dangerous than the Johns you throw in jail."
"You're gonna sit this one out," Dean said.
"Stuff you, Dean," she snapped. "Or whatever your real name is."
Jody smirked, "Hanscum's good."
"She doesn't have any training with this," I said.
"I said, she's good."
"(Y/n)," I looked at Sam. "Stay here?"
"And let Donna go?"
"If the sheriff comes back, it looks sketchy if all four F.B.I agents are gone," he explained.
"Fine," I let out a breath. "Let's go, Spencer. Half an hour and I'm coming after you idiots."
They all nodded.
"Good luck."
We were sitting inside, just counting the minutes.
"It doesn't make sense," Spencer said. I raised an eyebrow. "The sheriff killing, maybe, but stealing. He already has a good job. He doesn't need to."
"You don't think it's him," I asked.
"At the least, not on his own. It has to be a team."
"Which would mean that the group walked into a whole nest, thinking he was alone," I muttered. "Let's go."
When we rolled up to the house, the impala was still there. Spencer grabbed his gun.
"Nope," I reached back to grab the spare bag I had brought. "I'm overly cautious."
"What- Oh my gosh," Spencer said as I handed him a machete. "How did you even sneak that in here?"
"Magician never reveals their secrets," I replied as I sat back up with my machete. "Hope you're ready. It's gonna be chaos."
"I'm ready," he nodded.
We got out of the car and started toward the house. We were only a few steps from the doors when they swung open.
"Whoa," Dean held his hands up. "Weapons down. No fangs."
"What the hell," I asked.
"It was a team."
"Yeah, we figured that much out."
"I killed a vampire," Donna said quickly.
"Good... job...," I replied hesitantly. "Is everyone physically okay?"
Everyone was nodding.
As we walked back to the cars, I caught Sam and Spencer talking off to the side. I tapped Dean's arm before pointing over at them.
"What- oh," Dean said. "How long until they kiss?"
"Two hours max," I replied. "They're cute though."
"Sammy deserves it."
"Yeah," I nodded. "So does Spencer."
"Snooping on your brother," Jody asked.
"Maybe," I muttered like a guilty kid before jogging to my car. "Spencer!"
His head popped up.
He awkwardly said goodbye to Sam and started jogging over to the car. We got in and started driving back to the motel.
"What's with the smile," I asked.
"What," Spencer seemed to suddenly snap out of some kind of trance.
"You have a huge smile on your face," I chuckled. "What happened?"
"Oh," he tried to make his smile smaller. "Nothing. Nothing."
I didn't believe him.
Not even a little bit.
But still, I dropped it.
Until we got back to the motel and Spencer decided to speak up again.
"(Y/n)," Spencer said nervously.
"What's up," I asked.
"Your brother... Your brother asked me out."
"What," I replied quickly. "Wait, wait. It was Sam, right?"
He paused, looking down, "Yeah."
"Aww," I smiled. "This is great. This is good, right? This is a good thing?"
"Yeah, I think so," Spencer was still staring at the floor as he spoke. "I said that I wanted to go get cleaned up and then meet up with him... mostly because I wanted to talk to you."
"Oh, Spencer," I gushed. "I'm so happy for you."
"You're not upset that I'm ditching you?"
"You aren't ditching me," I replied. "I'll go hang out with Dean. Maybe we'll drag Jody and Donna with us. Have fun."
He nodded.
"But... how long have you two been talking," I asked. He furrowed his eyebrows. "You don't dive into relationships, Spencer. You never have."
"He... gave me his number when I met him," he explained. "He said it was for emergencies, but... it really was just us talking whenever we wanted."
"I should've known," I chuckled. "Damn. I'm oblivious."
Spencer shook his head.
"Go get ready for your date," I said before he could explain.
"Okay," he walked to the bathroom. "Thank you... for being so okay with this."
"As long as you and Sam are happy."
He grinned.
"I will murder you if you hurt him. And I have plenty of ways to make sure no one figures it out."
His grin dropped.
"Have fun tonight," I smiled back.
Sometimes being scary was a little bit fun.

Chapter 3: Dear Steve
After Steve and you had talked, you had spent a while wrapped up in his arms, your head laying on his chest while both of you were caught up in your own thoughts. But the quiet didn’t bother you. It felt like the calm before the storm, an uninterrupted moment just for the two of you.
You thought back to the summer when you had spent every day like this, just enjoying each other’s company and not thinking about the uncertain parts of your life.
Steve had been working at the ice-cream shop, Scoops Ahoy at Star Court and you had prepared for your final exams before you had finally graduated. None of you had liked to acknowledge your future. Would you go to college? And if so, where? What would happen to you, if one of you went away and the other stayed in Hawkins.
You had thought about it, had tried to imagine what a shared future could be like. You knew you wanted to leave Hawkins once and for all and never look back. But your friends were here. And Steve was here. College seemed so far away for him, and you could feel his anxiety whenever you broached the topic.
So you had lived in the moment instead. Had pushed back the uncertainty and fear and focused on what you had now. But you knew it was inevitable in the end. Always the quiet before the storm.
Steve was absentmindedly twisting a strand of your hair around his finger, and you focused on the simple gesture, the affection behind it. “I always wanted to go on a trip to Europe”, you told him, snuggling a little more into his embrace.
“Let’s go then. I am pretty sure they always need someone to sell ice-cream in Italy and I happen to be a natural at it.” You smiled.
“That sailor outfit really brought out your best features”, you teased him, knowing how much he despised it. You had always thought he looked adorable in it. And sometimes he could even make it look hot. Without the stupid hat on though. Something you would never admit to him.
“Honestly who forces men to wear knee socks? That’s just- cruel!” You laughed. “Good thing we didn’t have school uniforms at Hawkins high.”
“I would have loved to see you in knee socks”, Steve murmured into your neck, and you grinned. “I am sure you would!” Your smile faded when you thought back to your school days.
“Can you imagine if we had met back in high school?”, you wondered and Steve let go of your hair, wrapping his other arm around your torso too and pulling you into him. “I was so different back then”, he admitted, and you thought about it.
Of course, you had heard about king Steve in school, but he had been a grade above you and you had spent most of your days trying to hide yourself as best as you could. You hadn’t been interested in any of the popular guys, only how to get past them while staying as invisible as you could.
But you had been a different person too. You had only started to get to know yourself when you had graduated and made your new friends.
For the first time in your life, you had been asked about your interests and likes, your opinion and thoughts. You could no longer hide your feelings because no one would notice a change. Suddenly there were people in your life who saw when something was wrong, noticed when you were unusually quiet or pretended to be fine when you were not. Suddenly someone cared.
Would that all have changed sooner, if you and Steve had gotten to know each other in high school? Would you have had more time together? Or would you have never become a couple instead, had been too different back then to fall in love with the other?
“Things would have been so different”, you settled on. I wish we would have more time, was what you didn’t say. You wanted to savour this moment of peace and not ruin it by bringing up your imminent death.
“Well, I like how they are”, Steve mumbled, planting a kiss on your hair. You smiled. “Me too.” But both of you knew you were just pretending, living inside a bubble that would burst soon.
You weren’t ready for it to end, but you had been gone for a while now and you didn’t want Dustin nor Lucas storming in. “We should probably go back”, you muttered, but Steve didn’t loosen his grip. “What if I don’t want to?”, he asked, and you chuckled.
“You know how they are. If you leave them alone for too long, they will get themselves into trouble.” Steve let out a sigh. “They better have a new hint”, he stated while he loosened his grip, allowing you to get up.
And just like that you were brought back to reality. You pulled up Steve from the bed, planting a soft kiss on his mouth before turning to go. “You didn’t ruin my hair, did you?”, you asked while you opened the door.
“Just a little.”
You smoothed over the back of your hair, hoping it didn’t look too dishevelled from Steve’s fingers. You didn’t need Lucas and Dustin making awkward comments.
But to your surprise they barely acknowledged the two of you as you walked in, bend over one of the old books. Steve joined them immediately, the hope that they could have found something useful spreading through him like a wildfire.
You distanced yourself from them, returning to your spot at the desk where your paper and pen were waiting for you. Untouched it seemed. You snuck a glance at the two boys, but they seemed unaware. Perhaps they had actually respected your privacy. Or they had been too afraid to find cheesy words directed at Steve.
But you had barely written more than a few words. Now after your talk with Steve they seemed to come to you naturally.
“Dear Steve,
if you’re reading this letter, I am either sitting by your side, cringing that you’re actually reading these words, or I am dead. As much as I hope for the first part, I need to prepare myself for the other case too. And that includes telling you everything I want you to know before I leave this earth.
You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I know it’s a cliche thing to say, but it is true. You make me so happy. Sometimes I wonder if I forget how it felt like to smile before I met you. When I am with you, I don’t have to think about how much my life sucks or about the rest of the world. With you I can be myself and I know that is enough.
Thank you for showing me what love is. And thank you for always being there for me. You are the best boyfriend I could have asked for. Even if you can be forgetful and a little chaotic sometimes. And your movie knowledge sucks although you now work at a home movie rental service.
I wish we had more time together. I wish I would get the chance to see you grow up, go to college, or open up your own shop, whatever you want. I want you to know that you deserve more. You deserve a good life with good people in it.
Remember that, after my death. There is nothing you could have done, so please do not blame yourself. This is no one’s fault and especially not yours. If I am gone, I know that you did everything you could. Promise me to keep close to the others. You are going to need each other.
I hope you can forgive me for leaving you and forgive yourself for letting me go. Life is waiting for you!
I love you!”
You wiped away a tear as you finished the last sentence, signing the letter and folding it narrowly. It was the last one you slipped into a brown envelope. Everything you had wanted to say but never felt bold enough to, you had. At least you wouldn’t leave with regrets and unsaid words.
You caught your reflection in the window in front of you, almost not recognizing the silhouette that stared back at you. A split second later everything went dark.
Darkness.
You were engulfed by it, barely able to make out the room you were in. “Steve?”, you asked, a small part of you hoping it had only been a blackout. That he would be there, a flashlight in head, smirking in amusement at your fear.
But there was no answer. No sign there was someone there at all. “Dustin? Lucas?”, you tried, but you knew you wouldn’t get an answer. Maybe they had exited the room while you had written the letter. One of them would come in, a little baffled that whatever they had tried had cut the electricity and apologize for scaring you.
But it had been daylight just a few moments before. And wasn’t there a sound in the distance? You got up, slowly following the noise. You didn’t know if it was a smart move, but something seemed to draw you towards it and you didn’t seem to be able to resist.
Your feet were moving on their own, and you were left to accept it. Hugging your body, you tried to make yourself small, as if you could protect yourself from harm this way.
The sound grew louder, and you noticed it came from Nancy’s room. The room you had just shared in a moment of peace with Steve. Your feet moved up the stairs, your hand extending on its own to open the door.
On the wall was a big and old clock, a golden pendulum swinging from one side to the other. The ticking sound had grown loud now, the sound so full in your ears that you didn’t seem able to hear anything apart from it.
The message was clear. Your time was running out.
You were only a few steps away now, reaching out towards it as if you could stop it from swinging. What would happen if you did?
But you never got the chance to find out as a husky voice filled your ears. “(Y/n)!”, it whispered, the sound sending shills through your body. As if it was calling you.
A second later you were violently ripped out of the room and the darkness, your body jerking back to life from its position at the desk. It took you another second to win back orientation, the letters on the desk reminding you of what you had been up to before you had been trapped in the hallucination.
You almost didn’t dare to gaze at the window, too scared to watch your own reflection again. “(Y/n)?!” You looked up to find Steve standing next to you, his face pale and eyes wide. Next to him were Dustin and Lucas, both of their faces an equal mask of horror. Max was standing behind them, keeping her distance like she always did these days.
“It was like you were in trance. You wouldn’t wake up!” Dustin’s voice sounded a little high-pitched and it was laced with worry.
“I’m okay”, you forced out, your breath still a little unsteady. Your eyes flickered back to Steve’s, and you saw the remains of panic in them. He must have felt so helpless, not knowing what would happen to you and not being able to wake you from the vision.
And this was only the beginning.
“What happened?”, Lucas wanted to know, and you took a breath, getting up from the desk to take a few shaky steps. The others turned with you, their eyes not leaving you for a second. You couldn’t blame them.
“One second, I was here staring out of the window and the next suddenly everything became dark. I thought the power went out for a moment, but you all were gone. And then I heard this noise-”
You froze when the sound returned to your ears, your head wiping around to the direction it came from. But a moment later it was gone. The three had watched the movement with big eyes and you wondered how crazy you looked to them right now. It felt that way at least, as if you were going crazy.
Chrissy and Fred must have felt the same, only they didn’t know what was awaiting them. They didn’t know about Vecna or the curse. They must have felt so alone. And so scared.
“I followed it. It came from Nancy’s room. On the wall there was a big clock. Just before I reached it, I heard a voice calling me. And then I woke up.”
“Yeah, we were calling your name like crazy”, Steve spoke up, but you shook your head. “No, it wasn’t your voice I heard. It was so deep and raw. Not mortal.”
You paused, your gaze alternating between the three of them.
“I think Vecna is calling me.”

These are the Lies
---
He didn’t want to be here.
Theo did not want to fucking be here. He’s grown to love the pack, don’t get him wrong. Ever since coming back from hell and helping save Stiles from the Hunt, the chimera has learned the benefit of having a proper pack. After proving his worth, Theo was more or less welcomed with open arms. Open arms that were at the ready for the human that night almost a year ago now. Arms that fell by Theo’s side watching Stiles- his ex-boyfriend, the break up happened right before Tara yanked him down to hell- run right into Lydia’s.
Yeah, that fucking hurt.
A lot.
The moment the Hunt and the lowenmensch were taken care of, Theo shifted into his wolf and took the fuck off for a few hours.
It didn’t get any better when Stiles went off to be an intern at the FBI. Asking to still be friends because there's no reason not to be. Yeah, that only made the wolf and coyote inside the chimera all the more anguished. Devastated. Clawing at his insides with no chance of reprieve in sight. It was awful. Theo was an absolute menace to be around. He can admit that.
Yet the pack was still there for him.
The sheriff wrangled the chimera into helping him with a case because his aptitude is level with Stiles’ and still keeps him around. Theo even works at the vet’s office with Deaton in his free time. It was enough for him to be able to uphold the house the Dread Doctors procured for him. Turns out the deed was in his name, so now he just has to pay to keep it. The chimera gets by, taking classes online to start earning a degree. He wants to be a nurse and help people for a change.
He started to get better. Mostly. At least, he’d convinced himself he was. Lied to himself. The sting of Stiles not only being gone but with someone else was ever present. It more so just became such a chronic ache, that Theo didn’t notice as much. Living with something for so long, you just expect it to be there.
Then he met Riley. A guy from his pharmacology class that completely hit Theo out of left field. The chimera wasn’t looking for someone to start a relationship with and he certainly didn’t want a rebound either. Theo was honestly starting to wonder if just being alone- romantically- was best for him. Riley had other plans. So the chimera lied to himself again.
In hindsight, Theo realizes every single mistake in the relationship. The relationship itself being the biggest one of all. He wasn’t ready, far from it, but he dove in head first at Liam’s nudge to not deny himself happiness. The other was Riley. God, if there was anyone who could pass as Stiles, it was him. Tall, dark brown hair, and honey eyes that just floor you like his smile wasn’t gorgeous enough. Rather than moles peppering his skin, he had freckles sprinkled along his nose and cheeks over beautiful sun-kissed skin.
Riley was beautiful, there’s no denying that, and the chimera really did like him.
It just all comes back to the point that Theo wasn’t ready.
Seven months down the drain and one very heartbroken human adding to Theo’s wanting to just be alone.
Meaning that as much as he loves the pack, a weekend getaway at a cabin in the Colorado mountains belonging to Derek Hale was the absolute last place Theo wanted to be. It would be nice to see Mason and Corey again, having just graduated high school, they went straight to college across the country. Liam and Scott were the only ones who stayed in Beacon Hills with him. But he was told that everyone from the pack was coming. As in, Stiles and Lydia would be making the trip too.
The chimera really doesn’t want to see the two lovebirds. All googoo eyes and the touchy feely. Theo can’t fucking handle it. He’ll snap. Or burst. Or just fucking combust. And he doesn’t want to do any of those things. Because even though Stiles isn’t with him, Theo still cares about the human immensely. He won’t be rude or cruel. Not to Stiles. Lydia certainly doesn’t deserve it either. But that doesn’t make a difference really to his scarred heart.
Who’s he kidding? His heart isn’t scared. It’s still flayed wide open and bleeding for the whole world to see. Having to spend the weekend in a cabin with the couple is sure to add more wounds than Theo can take. There comes a point where beaten becomes broken and he can’t afford to break.
A knock on his driver’s side window startles the chimera, a muffled, “hey, you made it,” coming through the glass.
Theo’s an Atheist, that much is true. But whoever, or whatever the fuck is in charge of the universe just smite him right here and now. Because when the chimera turns to see who managed to get the jump on him, he finds Stiles outside of his car. His jeep certainly wasn’t here when Theo got here, at least he thought it wasn’t. Pinching his brows, he looks behind the human, finding the dusty blue vehicle hidden behind several other cars.
How did Theo not notice he was already here? Was he really in his head that much?
“It’s cold as hell, man,” Stiles says a little louder, the chimera’s blue eyes snapping back to him. “Let’s go inside. Scott said something about a bonfire.”
Theo doesn’t even know how long he’s been sitting here in his truck trying to psyche himself up to go in. Fuck's sake. Okay. The chimera takes his keys out of the ignition and grabs his bag. Pulling the door handle, Stiles steps back to give him space to get out. Theo is almost positive he’s swallowed his own tongue because no words come out as he just looks at the human.
Stiles takes his hands out of his hoodie pocket, “it’s good to see you,” he looks like he’s prepared to hug the chimera but stops himself. Choosing instead to shove his hands back in the pocket. “You good?”
The chimera takes a breath, needing some sanity or something. Fucking anything. He’ll take one singular word if that’s all he can muster. “Y-,” Theo clears his throat, hoisting his bag over his shoulder. “Yeah, I’m good,” the lie singes his tongue. Stiles leans towards the cabin door with a small smile. Theo gets the hint and walks with him. “How are you?” He mostly asks to be polite. Small talk or whatever you want to call it.
The itch to shift and run is already taking hold of the hair raising on the back of Theo’s neck.
“I’m good,” Stiles’ smile can be heard even though Theo’s too busy staring at his own feet as they walk to actually see it. Or the door to the cabin- honestly, call it a fucking house, the place isn’t small- being opened, laughter and conversation poking at his eardrums. “We were waiting till you got here to pick rooms, so just put your bag with the others,” the human gestures towards the pile by the stairs.
Theo does as told, trying to take small, calculated breaths through his nose to get as little of Stiles’ scent as possible as they head towards the kitchen. The freshly baked cinnamon rolls and burnt parchment paper is like a goddamn drug to him. Liam is digging around in the fridge when they reach the room. Mason and Corey are leaning against the island where Scott and Lydia are seated on bar stools.
“Theo!” Corey yells, smiling brightly and all but yanking himself out of his boyfriend’s arm to round the island and crash into Theo.
“Shit,” the chimera grunts as the other boy squeezes him really tightly. Stiles quietly clears his throat and takes a small step to the side. If Theo were to have hugged the human outside, they’d still be standing there. Because if the chimera were to get his arms around Stiles, there’s not a single thing that would get him to let go. “Hey, Corey,” Theo sighs, close to contentedly, wrapping his arms around the other chimera.
The Alpha gets up too, “glad you made it,” Scott claps his shoulder seeing as Corey still hasn’t let him go yet.
“I was told something about a bonfire?” Theo asks, wanting to very much be outside in the fresh air where Stiles’ scent won’t seem as potent to him.
Corey jumps back, “yeah! We’re gonna make s’mores too!”
A genuine smile forms on Theo’s face, “you’re still just a pup, aren’t you?” He teases the other chimera, ruffling his hair. Corey playfully smacks his hand away. “You get it started yet?” Theo asks the Alpha.
“We were waiting for you,” Mason informs him, waving lighter fluid around and long matchsticks.
Perfect. “Hand it over,” the chimera catches the items easily, “I’ll let you know when it’s ready.” Anything to get him out of this kitchen, he returns the nice smile Lydia gives him. Just because the banshee has Stiles’ heart doesn’t mean that he hates her.
“Thanks dude,” Scott smiles, jabbing a thumb over his shoulder towards a sliding glass door. “The wood is already out there. We’ll get the food and stuff ready.”
The chimera nods, shooting a half wave half salute at Liam’s nod towards him when he removes himself from the fridge with a can of sprite in his hand. Theo, at an absolutely normal pace, heads out the door to the back yard. Fuck you, no he didn’t flee the scene.
He totally fucking did.
Growing up with the Dread Doctors had one benefit outside of being mostly a supernatural creature. There is very little that Theo doesn’t know. Starting a fire is something he’d learned how to do at a very young age. The Doctors claimed it was no different than a normal boy being in the boy scouts. The chimera snorts to himself as he places some kindling at the bottom of the pit. It was nothing like the fucking boy scouts.
When he starts squirting some lighter fluid on the higher portions of the wood, the back door slides open again. Warm, gooey cinnamon rushes his nose and Theo salivates.
“Need any help?” Stiles asks with a nervous tick to his heart.
Placing the bottle on a small iron table far enough away from where the fire will be, Theo faces the human. He can’t prevent the smile at the sight his enhanced senses allow him to see. Stiles standing behind one of the lawn chairs with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders, gently biting his lip to match the nerves in his pulse.
His smile turns into a grin when he strikes one of the matches and tosses it into the kindling, flames engulfing the bottom of the wood. “I think I got it, but thanks.” Theo chuckles, watching fire lick its way up the line of lighter fluid to keep the fire growing. Once it catches fully, the chimera sits in the chair behind him, trying to be comfortable, but he doesn’t know what to do with himself. So he rests his elbows in his knees, hanging his hands between them.
It’s like having Stiles this close to him makes it harder to breathe. To think. To function like a normal human being. Well, a normal supernatural being, but whatever. The chimera is acutely aware of Stiles rounding the chair beside him, a corner of the blanket brushing Theo’s arm as he passes to sit down.
“How’s nursing school?” Stiles asks, tucking his legs under him, clinging to the blanket in his fingers.
“It’s uh, it’s good,” Theo tries to smile, but it was a really poor attempt. He’s supposed to be smoother than this. He’s supposed to be able to have a fucking conversation with the one person whose voice the chimera could listen to for hours. Theo’s stronger than this goddammit. He huffs a laugh, deciding to try for the banter that is always so easy for them, “are you leading any investigations yet?”
“I got close,” Stiles sounds like he’s saying in defense.
Theo actually laughs, “of course you did.”
“I was like two seconds away from convincing them,” the human surmises, “but not even name dropping Scott’s dad helped once my supervisor walked in. She shut that shit down.” Theo looks over to see a sly grin on the human’s face. “I was still the only intern ever allowed to be brought on the field though.”
“Why am I not even a little surprised?”
They both laugh, Stiles’ fluttering right into Theo’s heart like a melody. The air shifts, weighing heavily on the chimera. Dating life is usually the next portion of small talk and Theo can’t ask about that. He’s grateful enough that they weren’t wrapped around one another while they were all standing in the kitchen. Having to hear Stiles talk about being with Lydia will be no better than a knife to the heart.
“So, when is Riley meant to show up?” Stiles’ voice slices through the thick fog of tension the chimera could feel surrounding them.
“We broke up.”
“How come?” Stiles seeps empathy and something like surprise, “I thought you really liked him.”
So did Theo, for a time. “You really want to know?” The chimera debates on some half assed excuse. He doesn’t really want to open that door right now. But Stiles nods, his features soft and kind. Theo breaks a little, sighing, “I was lying to myself.” Digging his grave further, he adds, “thinking that I could be happy with anyone else.”
Stiles matches his sigh, looking at the fire, no doubt realizing exactly what those words meant. “It seemed like you were happy.”
“I guess I’m just a really good liar,” the chimera scoffs, “I’ve been doing it long enough now.” Theo rubs his jaw, unable to hide his vexation. “It’s just a matter of time until the lies I tell myself are actually true.” Yet another lie. There’s nothing that could make Stiles not being his a reality Theo can live with.
“What do you mean? Theo, what lies?”
The chimera gnaws his lip, breaking the dam, “that I’m okay seeing you with Lydia because I’m totally fine just being your friend.” The word tastes like poison on Theo’s tongue. “That I don’t care in the slightest that you’re not sleeping alone because I’m one hundred percent sleeping perfectly fine without you by my side. That I’m not still in love with you when you’re with someone else.” When Theo looks up, there’s tears in the human’s eyes too. “Those lies, Stiles.”
“Theo-”
“I almost didn’t show up,” the chimera cuts him off, eyes burning with the need to dispel the trapped tears blurring his vision. But somehow his voice stays strong, “did you know that? I almost didn’t come to what’s supposed to be a fun, pack weekend just so I wouldn’t have to see you and Lydia together.” Theo scoffs, rubbing his hands together and hanging his head, shaking it causes a few tears to slip out onto the grass.
“Wait, what?” Stiles sputters, the chimera can see him sit up in his chair from the corner of his eye. “Theo we-”
“You know,” Theo cuts him off again with a laugh, facing him again. Not trying to be rude, but fuck, he can’t stop talking now. “There was this one time Riley had been nervous about this job interview he had and I about had a panic attack because he rubbed the side of his jaw while licking his lip exactly like you do.” The chimera plays with his fingers, “yeah, I froze. Just sat there and the entire time all I could see was you. I should’ve been paying attention to someone else but you were right fucking there in front of me. But I knew I couldn't ever have you back because you’re head over heels for Lydia and I-”
“Theo!” Stiles is in his lap. Stiles is in. His. Lap. Why the fuck is Stiles in his lap? The human is cupping his cheeks, straddling his legs. On instinct, the chimera’s hands find their place on Stiles’ thighs. “What the hell am I going to do with you?”
Wonderful question, Stiles. Too bad that you took Theo’s means of answering by pressing your mouth to his. And the chimera’s brain kind of just…stops. Everything stops. The crackling fire no longer makes its way into his ears. Theo can’t feel the slight bite to the chill from the breeze of the night. Because Stiles is fucking kissing him.
Why the fuck is Stiles kissing him?
Ignoring the immensely irritated wolf and coyote in his chest, Theo breaks the kiss, biting off a whine at the small, whimpered moan from Stiles. “What?” It’s the only word the chimera can think of to articulate.
“Theo, Lydia and I broke up six months ago,” the other boy tells him, dropping his hands to Theo’s chest. “You’re not the only one who almost didn’t show up today. I didn’t want to come because I didn’t want to see you and Riley together. But then you showed up alone and I-” Stiles breaks off with a huff, avoiding his gaze. “And I don’t know what.”
To be honest, Theo hadn’t really heard much after ‘Lydia and I broke up’ and a stupid grin begins to form on his face to really drive the point home. All signs pointing to something the chimera’s only dreamed of happening again. Stiles is in his lap, telling him he’s single, and fucking kissed him! “What exactly are you saying here?” Theo asks, allowing the last shreds of doubt crawl their way out of his system, though the smile stays in place.
“I know the distance would probably be hard, but,” Stiles looks back up at him, “but I don’t think I can be happy with anyone else either.”
His fingers twitch around the human’s thighs with the urge to squeeze. If hearts could sing, Theo’s would be a whole damn choir. “Bold of you to assume that I wouldn’t go back to Virginia with you,” the chimera teases. The sheriff is a lot smarter than he gives himself credit for and from what Theo’s seen, a total badass on the field. He can certainly handle supernatural cases on his own. And the chimera can get a job at any shelter or vet’s office if he wanted to. There’s surely nursing schools in every state too.
“I’m not going to ask you to uproot everything for me, Theo,” Stiles retorts.
“You are absolutely going to progress in the FBI, there’s no way you won’t. Meaning the other side of the country is your life now.” There isn’t really anything to uproot for him and Theo tells him that much. “My home is with you,” the chimera assures him, “your dad and the pack have been great to me, but that’s not the same. Not even close. My roots are wherever your beautiful head is. If that’s what you’re telling me you want. Is that what you want?”
Stiles’ eyes well up with tears, but he smells nowhere near upset. “So fucking much,” he admits, grabbing the side of Theo’s face and slamming their mouths together again.
The sliding glass door opens and the chimera can’t find the care to pull himself away. Not when Stiles is finally his again. Instead, he smiles into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Stiles to keep him close.
“Oh. My. God,” Mason mutters.
“Hey, you guys got the fire,” Scott starts off strong, slowing his words, “kissing.” That gets Theo to pull back, laughing as he goes. “So you guys are finally back together?” The Alpha sounds excited.
“I told you I was going to get him back if he showed up,” Stiles states, playfully rolling his eyes at the wolf before flashing Theo a grin. The human shifts, moving around until he’s no longer straddling Theo’s waist and is more curled up in the chair with him.
“Wait, you knew?” The chimera asks, facing Scott who’s sporting a pleased, smug expression while he nods.
Adding to the chimera’s amazement, Lydia joins the group as they take their seats around the bonfire. “Why do you think we broke up?” The banshee purses her lips, but there’s no heat to it, rather her all knowing stare. “It was pretty clear that he wasn’t over you. We’re much better as friends anyway. So you better treat him right, or I’m gonna make myself a fur coat, got it?”
Chuckling softly, “yes ma’am,” the chimera says, kissing Stiles’ hair.
Theo’s really happy he’s here.

Ninjago: Generations, Chapter One, Part One
Before I post the first half of chapter one, I'm just gonna say that I also posted this story on Ao3, the link will be at the bottom!
------
A Ceremony turned Prophecy Party
Ryn screeched as Miss Lisa’s demon dog Brick sprinted after her, chasing her down the Main Street of Jamanaki Village.
She passed by the Monastery, grimacing as she spotted her father watching her with confusion splattered all over his face.
Jamanaki Village been a known ninja dwelling for thousands of years. It was no surprise that Ryn would have to train under her father to become a ninja, although the thought made her blood boil.
She may be Aryna Garmadon, but she wasn’t exactly the definition of “good guy”.
Since she was a toddler, Ryn had a tendency to cause trouble. She was skilled in the art of pranks and could make a trap for just about any purpose. Lloyd Garmadon encouraged her to put down her slingshot and take up a katana, but Ryn never felt the satisfaction in holding an ancient blade like her father said she should.
Her father always told her, “You are a Garmadon, and we always fight for what we believe in.” That saying combined with hundreds of tales of his many adventures and adversaries made Ryn feel unworthy of bearing the Garmadon heritage.
Her Grandpa used to show her how to cause chaos, how to make traps and prank others, which was something Ryn was excellent at. But her father never shared the same views of her pranks, calling them pointless and irritating instead of clever and witty.
But today one of her pranks went horribly wrong, the bear trap that was meant to catch any waste thrown from the window and splatter it all over the windows of Miss Lisa’s pie shop instead catching the tail of her beloved greyhound, Brick.
Leaving Ryn to fear for her life as the devilish greyhound barked, gaining ground as Ryn twisted and turned throughout the village. She could hear the calls of Miss Lisa far behind the two of them, and Ryn knew that Miss Lisa never intended for Brick to chase or hurt anyone, and in the back of her mind, Ryn knew that Brick wasn’t going to hurt her, and just wanted to chase. But when a massive greyhound by the name of Brick breaks out of his chains at the sight of her, logic escaped her mind as she began to run.
Ryn sprinted straight into a fruit kart and yelped as dozens of different fruits exploded all over her clean clothes. “Sorry Dominic!” She called to the poor kart driver as he scowled at her. Brick leaped over the wreckage as if it was nothing, and Ryn screamed as she took a turn, headed back towards the monastery, knocking into villagers and sellers alike as she made her way to safety. Ryn could tell a small crowd was chasing her, clearly upset about the lack of apologies.
Lloyd Garmadon was standing outside the Monastery, a look of disappointment plastered all over his face. His blonde hair blew in the breeze, green eyes trained on Ryn. His gi was missing, as he was wearing the old clothes he wore when sharpening weapons.
Ryn tripped, falling to the ground as she heard the panting of Brick. Turning around, Ryn was faced with the terrifying sight of Brick seemingly grinning at her, as if rubbing it in her face that he won. Then the greyhound turned and walked back to Miss Lisa, who petted him as if he did nothing wrong. Ryn stood, walking backwards until she hit something soft.
Looking upwards, she was met with her father’s tired eyes.
Lloyd gently pushed her behind him as he walked forwards to talk to the crowd. “Ladies and gentlemen, I assure you whatever happened was a simple mistake-” “This is the hundredth time that that kid has damaged our stalls!” The butcher, Tim, called out, and he was met with the cheers of the crowd. “She has to be punished!” Another voice called out, and fear pulsed through Ryn’s body.
“She will not escape unpunished-” Lloyd began, but Tim pushed him out of the way as he grabbed Ryn by the collar, spitting in her face. “Hey!” Lloyd says, attempting to negotiate, but his attempts were met with nothing.
“How about I turn you into a pie, hm? Maybe that would teach this rat a lesson!” He threw Ryn to the ground, and she felt her arm split open on the rock.
With one fluid motion, Lloyd unsheathed his sword, the sound resounding in the area, villagers going quiet as they eyed the Ninja Master’s weapon. “I will punish her to the extremes adequate for the situation.” He gave Ryn a look, and she shrunk inwards, you could tell he was part Oni.
“But you are not putting her in a pie.” Lloyd turned, grabbing Ryn’s arms as he entered the monastery. “We’re going.” He muttered, Ryn only just catching it as she followed him. He holds the monastery door open for her as she enters, and closes it behind her.
“What were you thinking?” Lloyd exclaims as soon as they’re met with the silence of the monastery. “I swear, I didn’t mean for Brick to chase me, that was an accident-” “Ryn. You know how important today is for us. We have the ceremony to plan, remember?”
The Ceremony of the Elements marks the date that the Temple of the Elements was lost, 500 years ago as of today. As a descendant of the First Spinjitzu Master, Ryn had to participate, as her and Lloyd were the only two remaining descendants.
“I know, I really didn’t mean to, I swear.” Ryn felt guilt crawling up her throat like acid, and she bit her tongue nervously. “I know.” Lloyd responds with a sigh. Looking up into his face, Ryn realises just how tired he looks.
“I can make it up to you, I swear! I can…” Ryn paused, thinking of how she can help her father prepare. “Be on your best behaviour until tomorrow?” Lloyd offers, giving her a small smile. Ryn grins.
“Yep, can do, will do, will not disobey.” She recites, and Lloyd chuckles. “The ceremony starts at sunset, and the monks have already arrived. Let them do their thing, and don’t disturb them. I’ll come and get you when it’s time to commence the ceremony.” Ryn gives him a thumbs up as she runs off towards her bedroom.
She had already prepared her ceremonial clothes the day before, meaning she was completely prepared for the ceremony. As she entered the Monastery of Spinjitzu, she spotted the monks moving various objects around.
She walked down the hall, bowing respectfully at the monks she passed. She arrived at her bedroom, the door slightly ajar as she spotted someone rummaging around. Ryn threw open the door, the intruder jumping as he held what he had found close to his chest.
“What are you doing?!” She exclaimed, sliding the door behind her so as not to disturb the monks. “I was looking for this, Monk Ahja requested it for the ceremony and your father told me it was in here.” The intruder said factually, but Ryn could sense the fear held in the statement.
“This is my bedroom! You don’t just storm in!” She whispered, aware of the monks shifting a large vase past the door. “I apologise, but I made sure I didn’t disturb anything, and I didn’t look through any drawers. It was sitting on top of the desk.” Ryn took note of his neat brown hair and unnaturally blue eyes, but giggled. “As long as you did not dig through anything, that’s okay.”
She could hear him breathe a sigh of relief and she walked forwards, the boy’s tall frame looming over her. “What’s your name?” She asked him. “Neo. And your’s?” “Ryn.” Neo nods, and Ryn takes that as a good sign. “You are the daughter of Lloyd Garmadon, are you not?” He asks, and Ryn is surprised, before she realises that they are literally in the temple of Spinjitzu, owned by her father.
“Yeah. Great detective skills genius.” Ryn says sarcastically. Neo blinked, and Ryn spotted what he was holding. It was a small flute, one that Ryn recognised as a family heirloom. She had no present memory of her mother, but Lloyd had told her that her mother wanted her to have it.
“Oh. The Spirit Flute.” Ryn says simply, and Neo nods. “He told me to ask you if I could look for it, but you were not present, so I simply took it off the shelf.” Ryn pauses, before nodding slowly. “Yeah, it’s fine. Just be careful, I’m pretty sure my grandfather told me it contains powerful energy that shouldn’t be released.” Neo gave her a small smile. “I will be very careful. Thank you for your kindness. “ Ryn shrugged nonchalantly, but a grin was on her face. “Just knock next time, jeez.” Neo laughed as he exited the room, waving before he disappeared around the corner.

Writing Bingo: Meeting the Parents
Mega Man X. In which X joins Aero as she makes her yearly visit to her parents. Full story in the Read More cut. 1,161 words.
Feel free to send an empty square as a prompt through my ask here: link
Tumblr media
X was sure that he could date motor vehicles now by whether or not they could accommodate a Reploid. Models dating before his finding had much lower ceilings and were occasionally a bit wider as well. Aero’s truck was one of them. Her dutiful, leaf green pickup did its best to hold X in the passenger seat, but it was still a bit too cramped to be comfortable. Let alone hold a small vase of flowers like he was now. At best, he didn’t have to worry about it falling and shattering on the floor. At worst, he barely had room to wiggle without bumping into Aero as she drove.
“Are you sure about this? You don’t have to join me.”
X looked over at Aero. Her eyes were on the road, and her grip on the wheel was rather relaxed.
“I’ve never met your parents before.” he told her.
Aero slightly turned her head at him just to cock an eyebrow. Not long after she took a deep breath out.
“Alright.” she relented. “We’ve already gotten this far, I guess.”
X gave her a small grin.
“I could still jump out the window if you asked.” he joked. “I can make the landing.”
Much to his delight, Aero laughed. They both knew he couldn’t squeeze out the window if he tried.
The rest of the ride was spent in silence. Aero knew where they were going well. She had told X -before he offered to come with- that it was a trip she made once a year. There were many times where she didn’t want to, but ended up doing it either way.
They parked her truck at the church. The path from there was well maintained, allowing X to take in another one of humanity’s grimmest reminders. Aero led them to a certain spot, and simply stopped there. X could feel his heart clench as he read the gravestone.
‘Barrett and Lillian Sephira
2109
Lives ended early leave memories lasting far longer’
“Hey guys,” Aero softly said to the gravestone, “I brought a friend with me today.”
To X, she then said, “You can place the vase at the bottom of the gravestone. There’s a strong magnet in there to keep the vase in place.”
X gave her a nod before doing as he was told. As he stepped away, the feeling that he had to say something as well came over him. Just as sudden, X felt just as nervous as he would have been if her parents were still alive.
“H-hi, Mr and Mrs Sephira. My name is X, I’m a Reploid. The first.” he said, even giving a shy half-wave. “Doctor Cain has taken me in. So I guess I might be a cousin in a way? Heh… I don’t think I am though. I am grateful for Doctor Cain though, and what he’s done for me, but he’s not… he’s not...”
X’s words stalled. He wasn’t quite sure what he would have said next. Instead of finishing the thought, X turned to Aero.
“Do you think they would have liked me?” he asked. “Especially since...”
Aero looked down in a contemplative silence.
“I didn’t have a lot of guy friends when I was younger,” she admitted. “So I don’t really know.”
“Oh...”
“However, based on my and Gran’s opinions, I would like to think they would. Dad would insist that you call him by his first name, and Mom might wonder if you’re able to eat. Then she’ll ask if you prefer cookies or cakes. She’ll bring them to you on your birthday- or… the day Cain found you, at least.”
“Your mom could bake?”
Aero laughed. “Nah. Not really.”
X couldn’t help but laugh a bit as well.
The two remained at the graveside for quite a bit longer. X knew that it had to be Aero who gave the okay to leave- not that he thought of leaving. The graveside was oddly calming.
“Did I ever tell you about their deaths before?” Aero asked.
“Bits and pieces.”
Aero absently nodded.
“It was my aunt who killed them,” she quietly explained. “The reason why I ended up living with the babushka instead of someone younger. I never got to see Aunt Vi much when I was younger. She and my mom just never got along. At least, that was the story I was told most of the time. Even then, as a kid, you gotta figure- what could cause two siblings to hate each other so much that they never want to see each other?”
X gave a nod. “I can’t imagine it.” he agreed.
“One day, sometime after I turned 11, Aunt Vi showed up at our house uninvited. I was in my room, and didn’t think to come down, but I could hear everyone make small talk one minute and then full blown arguing not five minutes after. I wonder if she even knew I was there...”
“Were… were you the one to call the police?”
Aero shook her head.
“Aunt Vi did in a panic.” she explained. “As more first responders showed up, I got scared. It started to dawn on me what had happened. So I stayed were I was. Gran was called to confirm the bodies, and that was when someone noticed I was there. Gran was the only one who bothered to look for me. She told me to stay in my room until all the police left. Including Aunt Vi, who was escorted out for questioning.”
Aero’s body started to tense. Hate and grief overcoming her as she thought back to that day. X tried not to think about what would have happened to a young Aero next. She had been a witness, and likely would have been part of her aunt’s trial. All of which would have occurred while making funeral preparations, still attending school, and having to adjust to no longer being home- to no longer having parents.
“They didn’t have to die.” Aero said. Her voice suddenly so dark that it scared X. “If I had just-”
“You were a kid, Aero.” he tried to remind her. He was trying his best not to just take and shake her, but it was hard.
Aero looked to him. Her eyes were glistening from imminent tears.
“But I-”
“Were smarter than you think by staying in your room. By panic or otherwise. She could have killed you too. Or worse.”
Aero bit her lip. When the first tear finally fell down her face, Aero could no longer hold it back. X didn’t quite know what to do. Taking a gamble, he placed his hand in hers- a small reminder that she wasn’t alone. Aero didn’t think twice before using it as an invite to hold him. X didn’t think twice as he held her as tight as he could without hurting her.
He also shed a tear or two, but he never mentioned it to her.

okay so, this is the story all about how i had a fairytale romance straight out of a fic n now i’m living a nightmare lmao.
back when twitter was twitter i was in the music producer scene cause that’s what i do in my spare time. well this poet guy i was following made a post saying for all the indie artists to leave their soundcloud links. so trembling in nervousness, i did. i was a beginner at the time and so sharing like that was hard. but this other guy was in the comments who shared is and on a whim i looked at his twitter. he was so so talented! so i followed him. he followed me back. we became fast friends. he lived in new jersey while i lived in oklahoma. after like a month we were crushing on each other so hard so i told him i told my nana we were together so we couldn’t lie to nana and that’s how i bagged him. ff three years. we do long distance for a while but it just means we saw each other once or twice a years. we had a big even that should have been my biggest red flag but love is blind so year three he moves in. we start our lives together. we get two dogs. ff to it being seven years. i move from my home state with him 19 hours away.
everything is good for a while but as soon as he had me isolated, our relationship broke down and i met a man i never in the seven years we were together thought i’d meet. i couldn’t leave bc i didn’t really have money and also, our dogs. it’s been four years with them by then and they’ve grown up by each other’s sides. we can’t split them. all of this is happening and so he asks me to marry him after months of us going back n forth about if we even wanted to be together. l m a o.
stupidly i say yes.
bc love isn’t blind it’s just ME 😭
two weeks post engagement we go on a trip with his family. bc i am introverted af, i sat out a lot of of the extraneous social activities. the family collectively decided i was being “emo” and no longer liked me. so, while we were all on a trip seven hours from home, he breaks up with me but i still have to endure the next two days with everyone.
we get back. he stresses how over it is. pushes me to move out so i do. goes so far as to say he’ll pay most of my bills just so i will. i was for sure he was seeing someone so i just go, not wanting to know the truth bc my heart was already in fragments. i stay close by bc of the dogs. we set up a coparenting custody schedule. doing this was better than going back home to my abusive family. we try out this new dynamic. it hurts for me. it’s hard for me. but when we finally sat down n talked about our feelings in depth i lied and said the dynamic was good for me n not at all that i’m still so in love with him i want to throw up bc before asking me my feelings he said something that let me know that as of now, my feelings are unrequited. dunno how long they were, but i took that as pre-rejection and said everything was fine and i wasn’t bothered at all. but god i was and still am so bothered besties. so so bothered.
now here we are at the present. i’ve been moved out for a couple months. but as of last week he says we might have to live together again for financial concerns. n lord jesus i don’t want that. bc i just want to move on but every time we hang out it’s always clear we’re so perfect together bc omg we have all the same hobbies. same humor. different interests but it’s always great conversation. he’s the one who encouraged me so much to do more with my writing and music. he pushed me to do so many things to overcome my crazy reserved nature. and now i feel like i’m stuck in the depths of a love that will never be returned again. 😭
pass the ice cream sleepover besties.
nonie hello!! 🥺 welcome to the sleepover!! ✨
omg. i don't even know where to begin nonie... how he asked you to marry him even after months of fighting... and how his family didn't like you so he straight up broke up with you and you had to endure that stay 😭 and then he pushes you to move out like ???? 😭 and your inkling that he might be seeing someone too 😭 and oh gosh nonie 😭 i'm so sorry about your family 😞 you deserve to be treated with kindness and love, especially from the people meant to be closest to you 😭
i don't have a lot of experience with relationships nonie but !! i do know that you a deserve a love that's as much if not more than the love you give out 🙁 i know breakups can be a tricky thing, especially when there are so many other things involved (your dogs, financial, feelings especially) but i hope you always remember to put yourself first!! to love and respect yourself before anything!!! and to make sure that the people you allow into your space are people who would treat you the same way you would treat you 😭
i am giving you all the ice cream in the world nonie!! 🍦🍨🤍 adding extra sprinkles of love and hugs on it too 🥺
let's have a sleepover!! 💗 send me any questions/stories you wanna share!!!

A lil bruno request?
Bruno and sultry reader who flirts with him a lot, or maybe show him big time that she’s into him. But then she found out he’s no joke when they finally ✨fuck ✨
Tumblr media
"eager eyes"
NSFW, dom bruno, afab reader with gender neutral pronouns
summary: bruno loves his best friend. he loves them in ways they probably don't reciprocate. bruno proceeds to get jealous of his best friend speaking to one of their other friends, and his emotions get so confusing and intense that he pops a boner.
ao3 link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36490828
bruno loves his best friend. he loves you so much that he almost can't make it through the week for you two to take your sunday trip to the village market to pick up meat and flour and produce (and maybe some extra little treats like flowers or baked goods). sure, you see eachother between then; but your market trips were different.
he got to buy you sweets, he got to watch you ogle over expensive handcrafted clothing or jewelry so he could make a mental note of what to get you for your birthday, he got to look at how the glow of the golden hour complimented your skin tone while watching the sun set together after being out in the market all day long. he got to hear your laugh. sat on one of the public benches talking meaningless shit to each other as all of the merchants disassembled and packed away their stalls.
he got to feel his face heat up every time you called him by his childhood nickname. he got to catch you looking at him out of the corner of his eye every time he turned his head away. he got to feel your fingers brush his hand every time you thought he wasn't paying attention, trying to sneakily link your fingers together. he got to feel the warmth and love of your presence and the feelings you felt for him.
he got to question himself and whether you liked him or if he was just reading too far into it when you made way-too-obvious romantic remarks at him, like telling him how pretty his eyes looked in the moonlight or asking him when he was gonna buy you a wedding ring.
you always bought your foodstuffs right before closing time so you had time to sit around a good while after they all left to look at the stars. you both just enjoyed the atmosphere of the market, especially in each other's presence; sometimes you would be out of town to visit family, and bruno wouldn't be at the market nearly as long because it just wasn't as fun to not be around you.
today was different, though.
today you had gotten carried away speaking to one of the townspeople at the market. you introduced him to bruno as a friend, but that didn't hold much weight considering he has surely never seen you two talk before. as far as bruno knew, you were chatting up a complete stranger, talking and laughing and cutting up with someone he had never met before on market day. your market day. market day was supposed to be special for you two, right?
he kept trying to come up with excuses for you to leave this new person's presence, trying to find directions to walk in so you would follow him or warning you that the sun would be setting soon and he wanted to watch the sunset with you again, like you did every sunday night. but, a quick stop to say hi turned into an hour long conversation -- and, when bruno saw you giggle and place your hand on this new guy's chest (it was more like a playful shove, but he knew your intentions) he felt his face turn beet red.
with frustration? he didn't know. anger? probably. he couldn't quite describe the feeling that welled up in him when he saw you do something like that with someone else. sure, you two were only friends...but you were his friend. he had you first.
instead of making a scene and forcing you to leave with him, bruno cleared his throat and tapped you on the shoulder to get your attention. he bashfully told you he needed to be getting home, and you were really sad to see him leave before you could watch the sunset, but you understood completely and gave him a hug when he turned to walk away. that made his frustration and anger waver a bit; was he overreacting? surely not.
he was already feeling that way now, so he might as well wallow in it like he has all his other feelings for the past 10 years. so, he gathered up his shopping bags full of meat and produce (and candies for his sobrinos and sobrinas; he even had candy tucked away for the ones who were old enough to get married) and made his way up the stone paths that made up the center of the village and eventually lead out into paths made of dirt.
once he arrived, casita opened the door for him so he wouldn't fumble with his full arms, and he snuck into the kitchen , trying not to make a sound so he wouldn't have to talk to anyone and subsequently have his emotions change in some way. he placed the bags on the counter, deciding someone would find them, and started towards his bedroom.
when he gets there, he slams the door. and after he slams the door, he flops down on the bed and just...lays there. why was he this upset over something so small? something so insignificant? it's not like there won't be other market days, it's not like you spend sunday together every week and have for nearly the past year. there would be other times, wouldn't there? you two have had plenty of time to bond, why get so worked up about something small like this?
thinking about how dumb it was to feel that way didn't change the fact that he was upset. it didn't make him stop being mad; now, he just felt mad and stupid.
he was thinking about so much at once that none of his thoughts were coherent at all. a rollercoaster of emotions flooding his brain, completely unaware of his surroundings or how long he had been laying there, one arm covering his face and the other hand resting on his stomach. when he finally felt his bones begin to creak and beg for some kind of movement, he decided he would flip over onto his stomach, but when he did, he let out a pained hiss at the sudden impact and flopped back onto his back.
his hand flew down to cup his crotch.
he had popped a fucking boner.
he let out an annoyed groan and ran his hand down his face exasperatedly. not only was he wallowing in self-pity because of his obsessive one-sided relationship with someone who probably didn't even think of him as a best friend like he did them...but now, he was turned on from thinking about how upset he was by the situation?
it made him feel gross. he had been trying to avoid jerking off since the house was rebuilt; sure, he had a couple times, and he couldn't lie -- he got horny often.
especially when it came to you.
he was constantly thinking about you. every hug, every playful push against his chest, every time you leaned in extra close when you laughed at one of his jokes, close enough that he could smell you. it always lit up his body like he was on fire.
he found himself thinking about all those times...he found himself tracing the outline of his hard-on through his pants, he found himself closing his eyes and biting his lip, he found himself trailing his fingers up to the button of his trousers and popping it swiftly.
he knew it was weird. he knew how gross it was to think about his best friend as he shimmied his pants and boxers down just enough to fit his hand inside, he knew just how perverted and disgusting it was to tease the head of his cock while thinking about your warm tongue kitten-licking him and telling him how good he tasted.
he knew it was even worse to remove his hand, just to spit in it and wrap it around himself snugly, bringing his free palm up to his mouth to cover his ragged breaths as he stroked himself, thinking about you. thinking about your body, thinking about being inside you.
he couldn't stop thinking about you. he couldn't stop thinking about how good it would feel for you to barge in and apologize to him for the way you acted, for you to make it up to him by removing his hand and taking over for him to show him that you...
the doorknob turned. he heard the click of the inner latch; had he seriously not locked the door?
he fumbled around trying to at least pull his boxers up and cover himself. he was only partly successful though, because, before he knew it, you were standing in in the doorway, eyes wide and gaze shifting back and forth from his exposed boxers (and the small damp spot on the crotch of them) to his face.
"Uh..." you started, a little bit of panic lacing your voice as you tried to keep your eyes anywhere but him, "I-I just...wanted to come tell you that i'm sorry about earlier. i can leave though, i didn't mean to...interrupt you."
bruno jumped off the bed, stumbling forward and yanking his pants up, trying to button the fly quickly and leaving the zipper down. "No--!" he exclaimed, a little dramatic but that wasn't out of the norm for him.
"I-- uh...I wanted to talk to you."
"Oh." you paused and turned around to look him up and down, "I mean...okay. if you want me to."
he breathed out a sigh of relief and walked towards the bed, you walking in behind him, closing the door and making sure to lock it. he sat down, opening his mouth to speak but quickly being cut off by the force of your lips against his, a hot, open-mouthed kiss causing his brain (and body) to stop working. it was then that he realized; you had completely misinterpreted what he meant by 'needing to talk'.
he was taken aback by it, sure -- but he didn't try to pull away. he had wanted this, after all. this was what he had dreamt about happening so many times, what he was even fantasizing about right before you walked into the room. yes, it surprised him, but did it upset him? absolutely not.
when you pull away, his eyes are already half-lidded and glowing emerald. his heart was racing. he almost couldn't believe what was happening, but in a way, he could. as you ran your hands up and down his torso and slowly fiddled with the buttons of his magenta button-down, he thought about all the times you had showed him that you were intohim.
all the times you pulled him into a hug by the waist and buried your face in the crook of his neck when you got back from week-long trips to visit family. all the times you laid with him in his bed with your head on his chest and arms around him, fingers tracing shapes on his sides. all the times you asked if you could stay the night, asked if you could sleep in his bed with him and asked to borrow some of his clothes, only to undress out of your daywear right in front of him.
none of that was friendly. none of that was you being a close friend to him. it was all you trying to show him that you wanted this. you wanted him.
he was lost in his train of thought, just staring down at you, but he came to right before you got his final button popped and opened his shirt to admire his chest and stomach. you ran your fingers down his skin, twirling them in the salt and pepper hairs on his chest and then on his happy trail, placing warm pecks all down his torso that soon led to open-mouthed kisses and then to nips and nibbles.
all bruno could do was watch you. he was painfully hard, straining against the new(ish) trousers he'd only been wearing for the past year. they were so much tighter and more rigid than the ones he had worn for 10 years, even after 12 months of wear. you used your mouth to suck bruises down his neck and toyed with his nipples using light touches with your skilled fingers. his anticipation was unbearable.
and yet, you continued to drag it on. you sat up to tug off your shirt, allowed him to eye you up and down and you placed his hands on your chest because you knew he wasn't going to do it himself. he could only look at you in awe; your body was mesmerizing to him. he couldn't comprehend that, all this time, he was thinking of you, and you were thinking of him.
he also couldn't comprehend how unbelievably hard he was. he was so utterly fucking horny that tears were beginning to prick his eyes and nose and threatening to spill out.
he called your name, let out a "por favor, i need you right now", and you just smiled at him, continuing to touch and tease him with your fingers and mouth. unholy amounts of lust were welling up in his body and he could not take it anymore. when you reached out to run your hands along his chest again, he grabbed your wrists and flipped you over in one fell swoop.
it takes you by surprise; you didn't expect something like this from him. bruno is a loving, caring, doting person. him flipping you over and pinning you down with one hand by your wrists, attacking your mouth with hot kisses and using his free hand to shimmy down your bottoms...it didn't seem like something he would do.
you enjoyed every moment of it though. you enjoyed the way he left rough bite-marks on your neck while unbuttoning his trousers and pulling them down, you enjoyed him looking at your face with glowing eyes when he spread your legs with his knee and used his thumb to brush your folds and feel how wet you were. god, you were wet.
you were so wet that it made him shiver when he felt it. he couldn't help but brush his thumb over your clit lightly, delighting in the way it made you gasp and cover your mouth.
"mi amor..." he groaned, a little more pressure against your nub as he began to rub rough circles on it, making your breathing and heartbeat speed up, "how long have you been waiting for this?"
a soft whimper left your lips at the question, you had to close your eyes tightly to try and gather your thoughts. "since...since i first laid eyes on you, bruno..." your head was spinning and you fluttered your eyes open lightly, seeing him flashing a devious little smile between your eyelashes.
you didn't know how long it went on, him nibbling (and sometimes full-on biting) at your neck while he rubbed you at a relentless pace, making your legs tremble and hands shake, but it seemed like it happened all too fast; when his touch left you, you whined loudly.
you begged him, nothing but 'bruno' and 'please' leaving your mouth in a jumbled up string of words, and you felt him crawl up to hover over you.
"mi vida..." bruno whispered in your ear. it was normal for him to call you pet names; he was used to that. but somehow, this was different. somehow, the words leaving his mouth made him feel like a completely different person than he was hours ago, leaving you alone with some guy in the town square. it made him feel empowered, the way you trembled and looked up at him with wide eyes as he brought his hand to your face and cupped your cheek.
"te voy a follar tan fuerte que solo podrás recordar mi nombre."
that alone made you moan out, grasping at anything you could get your hands on, inevitably ending up with your arms wrapped around his shoulders. you couldn't stand to look him in his face; the glow of his eyes was too intense for you to handle. you closed your eyes tightly, and you felthim.
you felt his hands running up and down your body, squeezing you in softer, fattier places like your thighs and your stomach. you felt him leaving harsh bites all over your chest and neck.
bruno was swimmimg in it. he was reveling in the way you couldn't make eye contact with him, in the way you gasped every time he bit you a little too hard, in the way he bit you so hard a couple times that the bruises were instant.
a soft 'amor, please!' came from you, and he felt a devious grin climb onto his face. "who's the one begging now, mi luna?" he cooed, "¿quieres que te folle tanto? you can't wait anymore?"
there was a darkness to his voice, like something had taken over. sure, he was touchy feely with you most of the time, but never this self-assured. never this confident.
you whined and nodded, but that wasn't enough for him.
"beg."
"w...huh?"
"i want you to beg. tell me how badly you want it, mi vida."
you were a little dumbfounded. "bruno, i--" you fluttered your eyes open a bit and looked him in the face; he was dead serious. you couldn't deny how badly you wanted it, though, and the anticipation in his glowing eyes lit a fire under your body like never before.
"bruno...please. i want you so badly. i'll do anything, please, just--"
you're cut off by him giggling, almost girlishly. he peppered kisses along your jawline before whispering in your ear again, "you want me that bad? tan sucia.."
your face was already beet-red. you wondered if so much hot blood rushing to your face could kill you.
he kissed you one more time, hot and needy and wet, and it was then that you finally looked downand saw just how hard he was. it looked painful; he wanted this just as much as you.
you caught yourself trembling again when he gripped the base and brush the tip against your dripping folds, a loud mewl leaving you as he finally entered you. he wasn't slow when entering you, but he was steady and firm as he bottomed out inside of you on the first stroke. he groaned gutturally, buried his face in the crook of your neck and started leaving more bite-marks there.
as he began to thrust, pistoning his hips back and forth, a state of euphoria washed over you. it felt like it was meant to be, something you'd been waiting for him to do since you first saw him from across the yard helping lay bricks down to fix la casita.
he went slow at first. deep, broad strokes that left you completely full one second and empty the next, but after a good few minutes, you didn't know how long; 5, 10, 15; he was getting restless. he couldn't hold back anymore. he needed this.
so, his pace quickened. fast. it wasn't long before you were both panting, groaning, begging each other for some kind of release.
bruno asked you to hold your hands above your head, and when you did, he leaned in for another sloppy kiss, using his own hands to grip your hips and pull them upward so your butt was off the mattress. he held your hips there, his thrusts now able to explore new, deeper ground inside you at this angle.
the room was extraordinarily loud. the nasty sounds of his bare skin slapping yours, the slick squelching of his cock absolutely demolishing your soaked cunt, both of you crying and moaning out for each other. what made it nastier, though, was the things he was whispering to you. it was like his ability to speak a second language was wavering with every thrust.
"mi vida, qué rico," bruno groaned, "¡me encanta follarte!" his hips began to stutter; his whole body began to shake above you. you felt him reach down to stroke more rough circles against your clit, rougher than before, and the combined sensations are what sent you over the edge.
the sound of his heavy breath in your ear, the shockwaves of pleasure being sent through your body by his thrusts and the pressure on your bundle of nerves, the nips and bites at your neck that you were positive will be completely covered in purple tomorrow; it left you gasping, whimpering, it left your pussy clenching tightly around him...
and the feeling of your cunt milking his touch-starved cock is what sent him over the edge. he fucked you through his own orgasm, cursing and shouting as he shot hot ribbons of cum deep inside of you. he was left shaking as he weakly pulled out of you and laid next to you on the bed, wrapping you up in his arms and petting your head lovingly.
"bruno, that was...wow." you muttered against his chest, and you felt it rattle with a silent laugh as he stroked your hair. "i got a little carried away, i'm sorry."
you could see the green glow that was lighting up the room die down, leaving you in almost complete darkness as the sun had completely gone down and nothing but the starlight shined through the window. "that...was awesome. but it wasn't what i meant by needing to talk to you, though..." bruno sheepishly turned his head away from you, "i'm sorry for getting so jealous. you...you have a life outside of me. i should respect that."
you couldn't help but laugh adoringly at him, running your fingers through the hair on his chest like before and then reaching up and turning his face back in your direction. "bruno...i did it on purpose. i wanted to make you jealous."
his reaction was almost comical. the look on his face as his jaw dropped and eyes widened was enough to make you laugh again. "you...you wanted to make me jealous?" he sounded completely flabbergasted.
"yes, cabrón. i've been waiting all this time for you to pick up on me being into you. i thought you might have been too stupid to even get jealous, but i wanted to see how you would react."
he sputtered, which turned into a full-blown laugh, and you joined him; once that died down, you both just laid there, basking in the moonlight from the window, deciding that whatever explanations you would need to come up with when you both went down to breakfast in the morning were a concern for later.
