It didn’t take long for you to figure out why Lucille was acting odd. When she’d walked in the trailer with Eddie she didn’t chatter like normal about her day didn’t even watch cartoons just silently played with her Barbie’s.

You never thought much of it, you’d talked with Eddie and he’d assured you she was ok, she’d probably only felt a little sick that day.

It’s not till you come through the door with groceries in your arms seeing your husband leaning against the wall. He’s talking on the landline the cord in his hand, his brows all furrowed up.

“Who’s that?” You gently pry but when he doesn’t reply because he’s listening to what they’re saying you run over placing a hand on his forearm so you can try to hear who’s on the phone before realizing that was Lucille’s teacher!

“Lucy you got something to show us?” Eddie asks her after a few minutes on the phone and she blinks up at him with her big brown eyes her little hands behind her back. She shakes her head no, but unfortunately for her, the nervousness in her eyes is a dead giveaway she’s lying.

“Lucille…where’s the test?” Your brows furrow you’ve still got no idea what Eddie’s asking about. Lucy goes and retrieves this crumpled up paper from under the couch cushion.

It’s one of those tests they give you in first grade for your phone number. She’d failed…and her big brown eyes water as she shows you both the quiz and your brows furrow she’d written an entirely different number!

However Eddie’s eyes light up, “is that pop pop’s phone number?” He whispers and she nods.

I love the idea of Lucille and Davie calling Wayne pop pop on their own accord even though everyone refers to him as uncle Wayne😭😭anywho sorry it took so long! I’m gonna try to write the other two requests I got tomorrow maybe?

You’d woken up with a pounding headache and a cold sweat, you let out a quiet groan.

“Eddie?” You murmur your clammy palm touching your husband’s bare back. “Think ‘ve got a fever”

His hands press against your head and he nods. He starts to sit up resting his arms against his knees, the sheets falling round his waist.

You blink up at him groggily seeing the sun peaking in through the window above the bed. You roll over in bed as you look to your husband. You let out a quiet groan hearing your baby, Davie start to cry.

Not even five minutes later, Lucy is bursting into the room, “Mama! Baby Davie’s up!” She tells you eagerly. You let out a whine shutting your eyes as you try to resist the urge to burry your head in your pillow.

Before you know it your husband is taking over, getting Lucy ready for preschool and calling Wayne to ask if he could watch Davie for the day.

“Sweetheart?” You hear Eddie ask as he pokes his head in the room David on his hip and Lucille clinging to his calf, you hum in acknowledgment. “Ya want me to call in sick for ya?” You shake your head no. Lucy’s birthday was soon and you just needed to save up a little more for that Barbie dream house she wanted!

It takes an extra hour but eventually you show up to work, making sure to stay away from your coworkers, and somehow making it through the day.

When you get home you take a hot shower and lay back in bed, and when Eddie gets home he knows you must still feel sick since all the lights in the house were on.

“Where’s mama?” Lucille starts asking loudly as she toddles through the house, and Eddie quickly sets David down on his playmat and scoops up Lucy.

“Hey, hey, gotta be quiet squirt, your mama doesn’t feel good” he tells Lucy as he presses kisses on her cheeks as she giggles and nods.

“I can make mama a card!” She shouts before she whispers “sorry” as she remembers her daddy said it was quiet time.

And so an hour later when you come out the room to make a cup of tea and take medication for your cold you find your husband on the floor near the coffee table. You squint slightly seeing him covered in glitter, macaroni noodles stuck to his work clothes as he holds David feeding him his bottle and watching Lucy finish up her card.

“Mama!” You hear Lucy shout as she runs up holding up her card pushing it at you excitedly.

“Ohhh it’s so beautiful honey” you tell her as you smile at Eddie thankful for what he’d done today.

Hi! I do still write I’ve just been super busy and I’ve lost interest in a lot of the shows I used to watch(mainly Haikyuu which I’ve been like upset by😭) I’ve been trying to watch other shows to get back into writing, if anyone has any like show recs let me know pls😔(I think I may try watching a few avenger movies? Tw- financial struggles, mentions of being laid off, and like slight mention of injuries?(I mention it once?)

Lucille was only three. She couldn’t understand that Eddie had been laid off work. She couldn’t understand why you hadn’t been bringing in much money after fracturing your leg. And she definitely couldn’t understand why her mommy and daddy couldn’t but her a fancy new holiday Barbie like one of the girls had at the daycare.

Her obsession with this barbie started whenever the girl brought in her doll and Lucy immediately was obsessed. When the girl went to the bathroom Lucy picked up her doll and cried hysterically when staff made her give the doll back.

The next time the doll is brought up is when you and Eddie bring Lucy to the store she wiggles her tiny hand out of Eddie’s grip and books it to the toy aisle running back with the holiday edition barbie.

“Mama!” Lucille squeals as she holds up the doll.

You hate telling your baby no…you look to your husband and he sighs trying to gently explain to Lucille why you two can’t afford it but she can’t understand so she cries into her daddy’s shoulder the whole way to check out.

And less than a week later while you’re putting Lucy into her car seat Eddie settles her book bag next to her. You glance to her tiny book-sack and see a lump of plasticky platinum blonde curls and you glance back to Lucy.

You grab the bag and pull out the barbie. A wave of guilt rushes over you because Lucy is too young to understand you and Eddie’s financial issues. She’s too young to know that what she did was wrong. You feel like it’d be wrong to punish her. Instead you let out a quiet sigh walking in and bringing the barbie back to the wailing child who Lucy had taken it from.

When you get back to the van you quietly inform your husband of what Lucy had done where you two have a gentle conversation with her about how it wasn’t right for Lucy to take from the other girl because she had something Lucy wanted…and of course when you get back home eddie counts up all the money in his change drawer making sure he’d had enough money before settling onto the couch with Lucy and one of those holiday edition toy magazines showing her all the Barbie’s. You listen to your husband explain which Barbie’s that she can get and you hear her sweet little voice and tiny footsteps run into the kitchen.

Mama! Look my Barbie!” Lucy tells you in excitement pointing to a beautiful holiday edition barbie. You glance to the living room seeing Eddie smirk as he holds up a ziplock full of change for you to see.

Guys I got a bit carried away with how long this one was and it’s probably lots of rambling but I haven’t written in for ever so😭😭Anywho let me know if you want to see more!

It happened on a quick little trip to the grocery store. Eddie didn’t even notice. You were home cooking diner and couldn’t for the life of you find the seasoning you needed for the dish, so you sent Lucy and Eddie to the grocery store for more garlic powder. Of course while there Lucy and Eddie got distracted with the soups…he ended up buying two cans of some chicken noodle soup Lucille insisted she needed. While Eddie is turning to read the types of soups Lucille sees those little fish tanks you add water to that makes the fish inside grow, and grabs it off the shelf putting it in her pocket. When Eddie turns back he asks for her preference on two types of soups.

It’s not until he’s buckling her into her car seat that he notices, his eyes widen as Lucille pulls the toy out waving the package at Eddie. His eyes widen because he finds himself in a predicament. He loves his daughter a lot, and sometimes struggles to correct her when she does something wrong, but he also knows that if he doesn’t correct her behavior she’ll think it’s ok to steal! But he also thinks it will be just mortifying to go in and tell them…’my toddler just stuffed this in her pocket…sorry’ even though it happens to tons of people!

So he turns to Lucy, “Lucille” he whispers to her with wide eyes “where did you get that?”

And Lucy just points to the store so this prompts Eddie reluctantly walking back with Lucy with five dollars his hand to tell the cashier what had happened.

Anyways I didn’t know how to end this so it seems abrupt😭pls let me know if you want to request something! Also noticing now I forgot crocodile tears but I feel like she definitely would end up crying if Eddie explains why stealing is bad cause she says she doesn’t want to be a thief.

I remember someone writing a fic where iwaizumi got hit by a car saving y/n and is in bad condition at the hospital and Oikawa tells to y/n “it should’ve been you” and I was wondering could you write where Oikawa has a nightmare where y/n actually got hurt too but is in worse condition than iwaizumi and Oikawa has to tell what’s y/n condition and that he was one that technically was one that wish she got hurt instead of iwaizumi ofc iwaizumi gets very upset that it’s making his heart rate go up

When you hear Eddie walk into your house you don’t even bother getting up. You feel terrible.

“Y/n?” He calls and you let out a little hum. When he gets to your room he doesn’t even say a thing about how you didn’t reply to what he’d said when he walked in.

“Are you alright sweetheart?” He doesn’t force you to reply. That’s what you like about him, he doesn’t pressure you.

Eddie lays down in your bed beside you and you move closer and closer until he gets the hint, eventually he wraps his arms around you pressing your head to his chest.

You let out a sniffle and you take in his scent, it smells so comforting despite the stench of cigarettes, it blends nicely with his vanilla perfume and the leather smell that radiates from him and the scent reminds you of home.

“It’s ok” he tells you quietly as he kisses your forehead softly, “you did great” he tells you even though he’s got no idea of what’s happened today he still comforts you and holds you lovingly.

When you and Eddie got the call from Lucy’s preschool about her leg being broken you both panicked because…quite frankly you hadn’t seen her cry the way she was as you and Eddie signed her out of school.

She’d fell off the slide at recess and landed extremely poorly, you’re panicked and Eddie’s picking her up being careful of her leg as she cries and clings tightly to him.

After everything is all said and done, Lucy gets a hot pink cast on her leg and she’s got Eddie right beside her to sign her cast but when she finds out she’s allowed to draw on the cast she’s chasing everyone with markers as she begs everyone to draw on her cast.

You know you probably should have told the nurse something about the pain you were feeling but it made you nervous, what if it was supposed to feel that way? You were to unsure so you just didn’t say anything.

Of course that obviously wasn’t the right choice as you now sit in your bed feeling a bit guilty for yourself.

Just as the tears begin to well in your eyes you hear the sound of a pebble hit against your window, the sound repeats until you suck up your tears and see Eddie right outside your window.

Eventually he’s got you in his van in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen.

“So why weren’t you at school?” He asks it’s quiet and not invasive just curious. But the simple curiosity wants to make you break down.

“I had a little surgery” you tell him quietly and your voice breaks a little.

“Did it go well?” He’s nervous to even ask but the little shake of your head tells him all he needs to know.

Somehow when he reaches over the center console of the van his comforting squeeze seems to help a bit, it doesn’t take away the pain from your earlier event, nor does it intend to, but it lightens it in some way, the same way it always does in the oddly comforting way.

…i feel like this may just be word vomit soup because I’ve been having horrible writers block but I tried if you want me to rewrite it let me know!!!
