Don’t y’all love it when a popular tiktok creator is analyzing a character and interpreting it so, so wrong, and him and his dumb ass take is spreading.
Like it was one thing for you to be wrong
ITS ANOTHER THING FOR YOU TO BE WRONG AND MAKING OTHER PEOPLE MORE WRONG
If one more person says that Izuku is “underdeveloped” and that he’s “uninterested in all of his other relationships” and that he “has a power imbalance in his relationships with other characters bc they care more about him than he does them” STOP. PLEASE STOP.
A fundamental part of Izuku’s character: He is an UNRELIABLE NARRATOR. Most of his character is, therefore, told through SUBTEXT.
Izuku doesn’t say that he feels ashamed about his feelings for Katsuki.
But he does say that he thinks they’re gross.
Izuku doesn’t say that he thinks that Toga and her feelings aren’t human
But he does say that she is the “perfect counter to this quirk”.
THE LIST COULD GO ON.
Izuku is an unreliable narrator in a third person omniscient story (though sometimes mha acts more like a third person objective story? Anyway). That means that the way we do not understand the story is not through a retelling of what is happening to you, the viewer, unreliably—instead it is not telling you the full extent of his character and his thoughts.
To say “izuocha’s relationship is underdeveloped because it’s one sided” is NOT the same as saying “bkdk’s relationship is underdeveloped because it’s one sided”.
Izuku has always been obsessed with Katsuki. At some point the rhetoric being passed around was that it was Katsuki who was underdeveloped and uninterested in the dynamic. Now that rhetoric has been reversed since we’ve seen so much of Katsuki’s POV.
Ochako has always been obsessed with Izuku, NEVER THE OTHER WAY AROUND. In fact, Ochako’s arc even surrounded letting go of those feelings… as literally said in the text. Because that is a textual statement that she makes.
Izuku does not understand how or what Ochako loves in anybody, especially him. She loves a unique sense of personhood, which Izuku has always carried, and of which she saw in the entrance exam.
Izuku does not know how to view things he deems as “girly”, and Ochako very personally CANT be in a relationship with someone that she has realized is very repressed. Her friendships turn from friends to fascination very quickly, into her heroic form. (Think her few moments with Katsuki in that extra, or how disinterested she became of Izuku as she saw him run away from help, and not know how to respond to an apology. Or, hell, how much more interested she became when Himiko was honest with her feelings in their second real confrontation. She even says that she “admires how she can love so freely, and say it with her whole chest”)
LIKE ALL OF THESE THINGS. THIS IS WHY IZUOCHA ISNT DEVELOPED. That’s a purposeful choice in genius writing, at least in my opinion.
Bkdk is a result of Izuku being uninterested in acknowledging said feelings, and this is shown to be different because of the amount of times he has had that imply a deeper emotion or thought that we are not told. Think black whip, controlling your heart solely surrounding katsuki, “my feelings are gross”, the ear piercing scream when katsuki was kidnapped and the “this was a total loss” line, relaxing into katsuki’s arms after the apology, only coming home because of Katsuki, comparing romantic feelings toga had for him and admiration to ALLMIGHT and not katsuki who was “actually in his life”, I COULD GO ON FOR HOURS.
This is absolutely NOT underdeveloped, this is called SHOW NOT TELL. Horikoshi is so purposeful in what he shows vs what he tells. He tells you that ochako and toga are the same, he tells you that katsuki is worried about Izuku, he tells you that katsuki is there to step in when deku can’t handle it on his own, he tells you that ochako has a crush on Izuku, and he tells you that Katsuki is Izuku’s “closest person”.
But he also SHOWS YOU SO MUCH MORE. Unreliable narration is such a key part of Izuku and his character. Izuku doesn’t understand Izuku as much as the audience doesn’t understand him. It’s why I genuinely think most interpretations of his character are wrong, because you really can’t take him at his word. It’s the same reason no one understood katsuki for the longest time, he was in the same circumstances of a character who is only showed to you, not told.
I know i named so many god damn references so if anyone is curious as to what specifically I’m talking about with what, I’ll gladly show what scene I’m referring to. Apparently I can’t remember a damn thing but this manga anyway.

“What’s happening?” Wonwoo called out as soon as he set foot into the house he shared with his close friends. He could hear the distant shouting happening somewhere in the house, a possible indication of a fight occurring between his housemates again. And he was right, there stood Seokmin and Mingyu, throwing harsh words at each other; something to do with dirty laundry sprawled across the kitchen floor.
“Didn’t I tell you to do your laundry THREE days ago Seokmin?” Mingyu bellowed at the top of his lungs. Seokmin’s glare only intensified as he clenched his right hand into a fist. Wonwoo stood at the bottom of the stairs, worried eyes observing the two.
“You yell at me for nagging you but here you are doing the same thing!” Seokmin snapped back. Before Mingyu could reply back, Joshua came in between the two, stretching his arms out to separate the fuming boys.
“Alright boys, it’s just laundry. Seokmin do your laundry now and Mingyu, take a nap to cool off or something.”
Seokmin turned on his heels, rushing down the stairs to do as he was told, greeting Wonwoo with an apologetic smile. Wonwoo sighed, walking up to his room to get the rest he was yearning for for the past week. He closed his door, padding towards his window to move the curtains shut. Without any source of light coming into his room, he laid down on his unmade bed, sighing as his head softly hit the pillows.
Wonwoo didn’t realise he fell asleep until a gentle nudge awoke him from his nap. “Wonu, it’s dinner time,” Soonyoung whispered, afraid to frighten Wonwoo with his normal tone of voice.
Wonwoo hummed in response, nuzzling his head against the pillow, “I’ll be down in a sec, Hoshi.” Soonyoung patted his cheek gently before making his way out of the room while Wonwoo tried his best to sleep again. However, Wonwoo’s ear perked up to the sound of his phone ringing in the pocket of his jeans.
He released an irritated sigh as he unhurriedly answered the phone. “Hello?” Wonwoo greeted with sleep dripping from his voice. “Wonwoo?” the person on the other line asked. Wonwoo’s sleepy eyes widened at the sound of Jiyeon’s, his ex-girlfriend’s, voice. An uncomfortable silence lingered in the air as Wonwoo sat up on his bed.
“What do you want?” he asked without any hint of friendliness in his voice. He heard something shuffle on Jiyeon’s end before she began to sob uncontrollably. Wonwoo could only roll his eyes at how pathetic she could be.
“P-please take me back, I promise I’ll be faithful to you and only you. He was a mistake, you have to believe me,” Jiyeon cried but Wonwoo remained stoic despite her pleas. He muttered a quick “no” before ending the call with her. He sighed for the last time before laying back down on his bed again.
Wonwoo devoured the pork belly Jeonghan left on the kitchen table for him since he took another nap after the unexpected call from Jiyeon. He began to ponder on the idea of getting back with his ex while he placed his plate on the rack. However, he quickly dismissed the idea after he remembered the pain he went through when he caught Jiyeon and her classmate in the middle of a makeout session on her bed. Wonwoo couldn’t believe his eyes and his first instinct was to punch the guy before fleeing the scene in tears.
But he couldn’t deny the hurt coursing through him after the phonecall he had with her but he also knew it was wrong to keep hurting himself like that. His eyes lingered on the washed plate, blinking once in awhile to stop the tears gathering in his eyes. Mingyu, who entered the kitchen not too long ago, watched him as he leaned silently on the fridge, careful not to scare him although it failed as soon as Wonwoo faced the door. The older male jumped, clutching his chest in the process. “Kim Mingyu, what the hell?” Mingyu waved at him from where he was standing, a sad smile on his lips.
“Wanna talk about it?” Mingyu asked. Wonwoo shook his head, knowing that he had already drunkenly poured out his feelings to Mingyu and the rest of his housemates for weeks after the breakup. He didn’t want to burden them more with his personal problems.
“Nah, I’m good. I think I just need to get some fresh air.”
He wandered around his university campus, finding the empty rooftop Mingyu mentioned the night before. Mingyu discovered it after a stressful exam where he walked around campus, trying to find somewhere to spill his tears. And that’s when he found the rooftop of the science building, empty and abandoned through the blurriness of his tears.
Wonwoo spotted the science building and made his way up through a secret passage that Mingyu instructed him to take. He climbed the rusty stairs that creaked with every step he took which alarmed him but he continued his way up anyway. When he got to the top, he found the door shut tightly which he nudged open with all the force he could muster.
When the door finally budged, Wonwoo heard a loud curse which made him panic at the sound coming from the other side.
“Who the fuck?”
“Shit I’m so so so sorry-”
“Well don’t just fucking stand there, help me up.”
Wonwoo blinked at you for a couple of seconds before your words registered in his mind. He let out a faint “oh right” before offering you his hand. You gladly took it, wincing at the shooting pain in your elbow which you were convinced was bleeding.
“Fuck, my elbow’s bleeding. Thanks a lot you idiot.”
Wonwoo reached out to grab your elbow in his hand. His eyes lingered on your bleeding elbow before taking some unused tissues that were shoved in his coat pocket. He dabbed the tissue on the bleeding wound, wincing now and again.
“You do know I’m the one bleeding and not you?” you scoffed, your eyes focused on his face rather than the blood trickling down your elbow.
“You shouldn’t have been standing there anyway,” Wonwoo muttered.
“So you think it’s my fault?” you questioned.
“No, why are you even up here at this ungodly hour,” he whispered, not wanting you to hear.
“I could ask you the same,” you replied. Wonwoo took out another tissue and asked you to hold it in place since he didn’t have any band aids with him, but you shrugged off his order and thanked him instead before taking a seat on the ground. You chugged the remaining beer in your can and crushed it with your hands.
Wonwoo watched you with curious eyes as you cracked open another can and handed it over to him. You stood up and gathered the cans of beer lying on the ground before making your way towards the door.
“Rooftop’s all yours.”
You were gone before Wonwoo could answer. He began to wonder who you were and what you were doing on the rooftop at this hour of the night but he realised that maybe you were here for the same reason he was; to get away from reality. He took a long sip of the beer you handed him, his eyes spotting a notebook where the crush cans were once scattered.
He reached out, reading the black ink across the cover of the notebook, y/n. he didn’t mean to flip through it but curiosity got the better of him and he opened the notebook to find art pieces scattered on the pages.
“Huh, aren’t you a mystery.”
You awoke the following morning to the sound of your roommate yelling at you. As soon as you opened your eyes, you instantly massaged your temples to soothe your throbbing headache but it wasn’t enough to calm the soreness you were feeling. Your roommate’s voice did nothing to help ease the pain and Seungkwan only worsened it by pushing your bedroom door against the wall with a loud thud.
“Drunk again?” he huffed, pinching his nostrils close to stop the smell of alcohol from making him gag. Seungkwan never liked it when you drank, he didn’t like the smell and he certainly hated the fact that you were slowly drowning yourself with alcohol to make the pain of losing someone go away. Seungkwan tried to convince you that he could help but you always turned down his offer with a lousy excuse that you “can handle it”. As a year passed by, your drinking habit only worsened but you still managed to ace your classes and somehow function with all the alcohol that was in your system.
“That’s the last time I’ll ever drink Seungkwan, I promise,” you stuck your pinky finger towards him, wiggling it as you waited for him to wrap his own around your finger. You really wanted to stop and this time, you wanted to keep your promise to your bestfriend to ease the worries he had for you and your health. Seungkwan could only sigh at his bestfriend as he took your pinky finger around his.
“I made you hangover soup y/n” is all he said after he turned on his heel and left your room with a quiet sigh. You looked around your room, the curtains still shut to prevent any source of light from shining through the window but the god awful smell of alcohol that reeked in your room was enough for you to stand up and pull the curtains open. You nudged the window with your hand and the sudden gust of wind had you almost stepping back by its force. You still welcomed it and as you cleaned around your room, the smell of alcohol slowly dissipated (with the help of some yankee candles).
When you entered the kitchen, the smell of bacon made your stomach churn and your nose wrinkle at the slight scent of burning food. “Seungkwan! your bacon is burning,” you yelled, walking over to remove the bacon from the frying pan. You heard Seungkwan yell something you couldn’t quite hear so you shrugged and turned off the hob. Your eyes landed on the hangover soup he made you and your stomach growled at the sight.
“Thanks for the soup, Kwannie,” you yelled out to him.
You were thankful for the fact that your photography lecture didn’t start until one in the afternoon so you had plenty of time to soothe your headache and plan out your night carefully without having to involve bottles and bottles of soju this time. You wanted to go up to the rooftop to retrieve your notebook that you forgot to take before leaving the handsome stranger all alone.
Your mind wandered back to him. You remembered the panic in his eyes when he saw the blood gushing down your elbow and it made you chuckle slightly. You lifted up your elbow to glance down if a scab was starting to form on the wound. Your grimaced at the sight and continued to eat your soup again.
“Hey, I found this in your jacket,” Seungkwan held up some bloody tissues with a worried look on his face. You shook your head at him, raising your pointer finger asking him to wait.
“I fell yesterday,” you finally spoke once your mouth was clear of any traces of food. Seungkwan quirked an eyebrow at you, his hands settling on his hips to wait for an explanation.
“I was up at the rooftop last night and some guy pushed the door open and I happened to be sitting right in front of it which was totally my fault,” you explained. You watched as your bestfriend sighed, walking over to the bin to throw at the tissues.
“You should be more careful next time y/n.”
“Sorry Seungkwan,” you picked at your food guiltily. You didn’t want to worry him all the time but you always manage to anyway. He watched you pick at your food for a while before making his way over towards you.
“Look at me,” he muttered softly, bringing his hand under your chin. You raised your head to look up at him. He gave you a small smile before pressing his lips on your forehead.
“You know I’ll always be here for you y/n, right?”
Wonwoo awoke not too long ago because of Seokmin and Mingyu yet again. He rolled his eyes when he heard Mingyu yelling as Seokmin chased him around the house. He stretched his arms above his head, his top slowly riding up to reveal a small section of his lower stomach. He grabbed his glasses that were sitting on his bedside table along with the notebook that belonged to you.
He mentally noted to ask Minghao if he knew anyone called “y/n”. It seemed like you were an art student so Minghao was the first person he thought of. He stood up from his made and made his way over to his bathroom to start getting ready for his morning lectures.
He brushed his teeth slowly, his mind wandering back to how you cursed at him last night which made him chuckle at the memory. He didn’t mean to continue flipping through your artwork last night but he was mesmirised by your pieces. He even found a picture of you tucked between the last few pages of your notebook and he admired the small smile that you gave the camera.
“WONU!” Mingyu yelled from outside, making him slightly choke on water as he gargled.
“Food’s ready downstairs!”
“I’ll be out in a sec Mingyu.”
You fished out your phone from your pocket, turning the flashlight on to help you see the rusty stairs better. The sound of the stairs leading to the rooftop creaked slightly with every step you took.
“These steps are going to break one of these days,” you muttered to yourself, keeping the cup of coffee near your chest to warm you up. The weather didn’t co-operate with you tonight. You were forced to wear something warm by your bestfriend and he even made you wear a beanie to protect your head from the cold.
As soon as you got to the top, you pushed the door open with your frame. When the steel door finally opened, you quickly heard a loud thud when it hit something or someone as soon as it opened.
“Shit,” you heard a deep voice say from the other side.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry,” you began to apologise as you pulled the door shut to reveal the person that was standing behind it and to your surprise, you found the stranger from last night, clutching his arm tightly. You both gave each other a look of shock before bursting out into a fit of laughter.
“You again?” you both said at the same time.
“I guess I deserved that,” Wonwoo said, sitting back down on the ground. You gave him a guilty look before sitting beside him.
“I’m really sorry about your arm,” you said, poking it before sipping on your hot coffee. He quirked an eyebrow at you, “I’m surprised you’re not cursing me out right now.” You gave him another guilty look, blowing on your coffee and taking another sip to before answering him.
“That wasn’t me yesterday,” you said, giggling as Wonwoo rolled his eyes at you.
“I don’t even know your name,” you laughed.
“I remember you giving me a name last night though.”
“What?”
“Yeah, something along the lines of idiot,” he teased, watching as your eyes widened in surprise again.
“I’m so embarrassing,” you groaned, placing your coffee on the ground to cover your heating face with your hands. You heard Wonwoo laugh at your embarrassment, patting your back as you continued to mutter words to yourself.
“Don’t sweat about it y/n,” he giggled. Your ears perked up to the sound of your name leaving his lips, not remembering if you told him your name or not.
“How’d you know my name,” you asked, removing your hands away from your face. He gave you a shy smile before pulling your missing notebook out of his jacket. He waved it around before handing it back to you.
“You forgot this last night and I may have snooped around.”
“Oh.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to..I was just really intrigued by your art. They’re all amazing by the way,” he complimented, rubbing the back of his neck while looking at you.
“Oh no, it’s absolutely okay. Thanks for bringing it back to me and thanks for the compliments,” you shyly replied, picking up your cup of coffee again. Comfortable silence enveloped you while you both looked at the bright moon. You suddenly remembered why you were up here.
“Shoot,” you whispered, fishing out your camera that was tucked carefully in your jacket.
“Do you mind if I do something for my photography class?” you glaced at Wonwoo.
“No go ahead,” he smiled.
Wonwoo watched as you brought the camera up to face, adjusting the lens before taking multiple shots of the night sky. Wonwoo would be lying if he didn’t think the view before him was mesmerising. He didn’t know why the beating of his heart fastened when you looked satisfied at the shots you took.
“Can I ask for your opinion...” you started.
“Wonwoo.”
“Right, so can I ask for your opinion on these pictures Wonwoo?” you shyly asked him, tucking piece of hair behind your ear.
“Let me see them,” he scooted closer to you, leaning down to look at the pictures.
And that’s how you and Wonwoo spent the rest of the night, chatting about your art, his course and anything that you and him could think of. You and Wonwoo didn’t realise it was past one in the morning until Seungkwan texted you to come home.
“Oh shit,” you muttered, quickly standing up and gathering your notebook and the empty cup of coffee in your hands. Wonwoo also stood up, taking his phone out before thrusting it in your direction.
“C-can I maybe have your number y/n? I’d really like to talk to you more,” he asked, his ears turning red at his own question. You nodded, taking his phone to put your number in his contacts.
“I’ll walk you back to your apartment if you want?” he offered.
“If it’s not too much to ask,” you replied, chucking the empty cup into the bed as soon as you got down from the rooftop.
“Let’s get you home then.”
You tapped your fingers on your thighs, waiting patiently for Wonwoo to come pick you up from your apartment. It had been four months since you and Wonwoo met on the rooftop. You both realised how much you complimented each other. It was nice that he got you to experience some of his hobbies while you taught him the things you were learning in your photography lectures. He was also patient with you whenever you were in one of your moods while you gave him the space he needed whenever he was having a hard time with things he would rather not tell you, yet.
Seungkwan and Mingyu even thought that you and him were good for each other. You were barely drinking now and even if you did, it was always with Wonwoo at the convenience store, talking about everything and anything your minds could think of.
You’ve grown to love Wonwoo’s company.
Woo 🐱: I’m outside your apartment bld ☺️
You: Be down in a sec 💕
You yelled out to Seungkwan that you were going, slipping your shoes on by the door before leaving your apartment with a big smile on your face. You and Wonwoo decided to visit the museum outside your university campus. You were excited to to find some inspiration for your upcoming art project and Wonwoo just wanted to spend time with you.
“Hey,” you walked over to Wonwoo, giving him a side hug.
“Do you think you’d be able to come with me to the recording studio after going to the museum?” he grabbed your elbow before crossing the street to get to the bus stop.
“Yeah, are you and Jihoon recording a new song?” you hummed, taking out your bus card when you saw the bus approaching.
“Yeah, it’s for our music theory class. Jihoon wanted to put some vocals on his new track so he asked me to be his partner.”
You’ve never heard Wonwoo sing but according to Mingyu and Soonyoung, he sounded angelic whenever he sung.
“Can’t wait,” you tapped your bus card, taking a seat at the back by the window. Wonwoo followed you, sitting beside and leaning his head on your shoulder. He yawned, closing his eyes and nuzzling his head against your shoulder.
“Tired?”
“Just a little bit,” he yawned again.
“I’ll wake you up when we’re near.”
You walked around the museum in silence with your notebook in hand, doodling some pieces that sparked your interest. Wonwoo, on the other hand, read each and every information that came along with the art pieces. You found it adorable when he would tilt his head as he focused on reading the information. He would look at you whenever you giggled at him, smiling and nudging you with his hip.
Your eyes landed on the final artwork in the museum, a grin making its way to your face. It was a simple artwork of the moon but the different shades of dark colours to mimic the sky made you more and more interested in the artwork. Wonwoo finally caught up to you and stood by your side.
“I..i think this is my favourite out of them all y/n,” he whispered beside you.
“Mine too.” You took out your notebook again, doodling on your notebook while Wonwoo watched you. You didn’t notice that Wonwoo took out his phone and backed away from you slightly. He tapped his phone to get his camera to focus on you, taking a picture of you as you doodled on your notebook.
“Beautiful,” he whispered quietly.
You looked up at Wonwoo, smiling brightly at him.
“I think I’m done ‘Woo,” you finally showed him your drawing, his eyes looking at the artwork.
“You’re so talented y/n!” He ruffled your hair before placing his arm around your shoulder. Wonwoo and you looked at the artwork for the last time.
“To the studio we go?”
“To the studio we go.”
“If you keep staring at Wonwoo like that, he might melt,” Mingyu sneaked up from behind you. You jolted in your seat, clutching your chest as you tried to calm your beating heart.
“Are you serious Kim Mingyu?”
“I didn’t realise you were this jumpy y/n.”
You threw a piece of crumpled paper at his face which he dodged, knocking the spare seat along the way. This caught the attention of a couple of people that were quietly sipping on their beverages in the coffee shop. Wonwoo watched you and Mingyu bicker while he took another coffee order. He chuckled softly when he saw you throw another piece of crumpled paper at Mingyu’s face.
While you and Mingyu were bickering about your apparent feelings for Wonwoo, both of you didn’t notice Wonwoo’s face drop when his ex-girlfriend entered the coffee shop. Mingyu finally looked up to find Wonwoo arguing with Jiyeon at the side of the coffee shop. Seungcheol who now took over Wonwoo’s shift, glanced at the younger male with worry evident on his face.
You didn’t notice what was happening until Mingyu tapped your shoulder.
“C-can you do me a favour y/n?”
You hummed in response, looking up to see Mingyu’s face. You dropped your pencil immediately and gave all your attention to Mingyu.
“I need you to pretend to be Wonwoo’s girlfriend like right now,” he blurted out.
“What the fuck?”
He nibbled on his lower lip before pointing his finger at Wonwoo who looked distressed as he talked to a girl you didn’t recognise.
“Who-”
“Wonwoo’s ex-girlfriend who cheated on him.”
With that piece of information, you stood up quickly and made your way towards Wonwoo. You looped your arms through his and placed your head on his arm.
“Baby,” you whined, catching both of their attention.
“I-”
“You have a girlfriend now Wonwon?” she sounded hurt as she looked you up and down.
Wonwoo cleared his throat, wrapping an arm around your waist to pull you closer to him.
“Yeah, now please leave before my girlfriend makes a scene. And you wouldn’t like that. Trust me.”
You waved at her mockingly, grabbing Wonwoo’s hand and dragging him where you and Mingyu were sat at.
“I want the ground to swallow me whole,” you groaned when you and the boys watched Jiyeon disappear from the coffee shop.
“You owe ME Jeon!”
“How about a free kiss?” Mingyu suggested making you and Wonwoo glare at him.
“How about an explanation? Meet me at the rooftop at 8 tonight?” he glanced at the clock, realising that his break was nearly over.
“I’ll see you later,” he placed a quick peck on your forehead, leaving you and Mingyu by yourselves again.
“Forehead kisses, multiple dates and rooftop sessions? And you two still AREN’T dating?!”
“Oh fuck off Kim Mingyu.”
“So she fucking cheated on you and now she’s asking for you to take her back?”
Wonwoo nodded, eating another cheeseball that you bought for him before coming up to the rooftop.
“And are you going to?” you asked nervously, not knowing why your heart hurt at the thought of Wonwoo taking back Jiyeon. It’s not like there was anything going on between you two, you thought.
You saw him hesitate, swallowing another cheeseball.
“I kinda thought about it but no, I’m never going to take her back. I don’t want to go through the pain all over again.”
You sighed in relief, “Good.”
“Why? You scared I won’t spend as much time with you anymore?”
“To be honest, yeah.”
Wonwoo watched you shyly eat a piece of chicken, avoiding his eyes. He scooted closer to you until your arms were touching. He placed an arm around your waist and placed his head on top of yours.
“Never, sweetheart. You’re very special to me, you know,” he whispered softly.
“O-okay.”
You were gasping for air once you woke up from your dream. You saw the look of disappointment on his face again, making your heart clench with sadness all over again.
“Not again,” you cried, placing your covers over your mouth to muffle your cries. Your hands were shaking at this point and you knew you were having an episode again. You tried to breathe calmly but memories of your time with him kept appearing in your mind.
“F-fuck,” you reached out to grab your phone from the bedside table. You dialled Wonwoo’s number, placing the phone on your ear. After the fifth ring, Wonwoo picked up humming as you called out his name.
“H-help me,” you cried, tears streaming down your cheeks as you tried to tell him the passcode to your apartment door.
“I’m on my way sweetheart. Please breathe for me okay? I’ll be there in no time.”
Wonwoo arrived ten minutes later, panting when he finally entered your room. He rushed over to your bed and removed your covers so that he could take you in his arms.
“I’m here baby, i’m here,” he took you in his lap, and began to rock you body gently to soothe your cries.
“I’m right here,” he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head, on your forehead and finally, on your cheek.
You gripped his shirt while you attempted to calm yourself down. You focused on his lips and then on his hushed voice.
“Woo,” you finally called out.
“I’m here y/n.”
“I’m s-sorry I called you here.”
“Don’t, you know I’ll always be here.”
After that night, you made it your job to avoid Wonwoo at all cost. You were embarrassed. You also realised how attached you’ve become to him. Seungkwan tried to get you to meet up with him and even Mingyu begged for you to stop avoiding Wonwoo.
“You’re leaving him in the dark y/n,” Seungkwan argued for the nth time. You sighed, leaning your canvas on the wall.
“I’m really busy Kwannie, can we not talk about this today?”
“Just admit that you’ve grown feelings for Wonwoo and you’re afraid that he might leave you!” Seungkwan blurted out. You dropped your paintbrush on the ground when Seungkwan snapped at you.
“I KNOW!” Seungkwan flinched as you yelled back at him.
“I’m scared I might lose him too but you can’t blame me for my own trauma Seungkwan! Now get out,” you picked up your brush again, turning your back away from him.
You knew you were dreaming. It had to be a dream because he was here. He was in your arms while you talked about your on going piece of artwork. Vernon leaned his head on your chest while he played with your fingers that were placed on his chest.
“I love you, you know that right?”
You gripped his fingers tightly in your hands, not wanting to let him go incase he disappeared like he always did whenever you had a dream about him.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything to save you, Vernon-”
“Shh, what happened to me was not your fault y/n,” he got up from where he was laying on your chest and took you in his lap.
“Nothing was your fault, okay?” he kissed your forehead.
“I shouldn’t have fought with you that day,” you mumbled, tears starting to stream down your cheeks. You gripped his shirt as he continued to whisper calming words into your ear.
“I want you to be happy. I’m at peace now, y/n.” Vernon kissed your cheek before he disappeared again.
You jolted awake, gasping for air again. Clutching your chest, you called out for Seungkwan who heard you since he was sweeping outside your door. He barged in with the sweeping brush in his hand.
“Vernon again?” You nodded, sniffling while you opened your arms for him.
“I know he’s watching over you y/n.”
You sobbed in his shirt, seeping the piece of clothing with your tears. Seungkwan’s heart broke when he continued to rub your back. He shook his head at how unfair the world could be. You didn’t deserve the heart ache of losing Vernon to a crash. You didn’t deserve to lose the man that was once the love of your life.
“What happened to Vernon wasn’t your fault, y/n.”
“I-i know,” you breathed out, “V-vernon told me it wasn’t. Seungkwan, he finally talked to me in my dreams.”
Seungkwan gave you a soft smile, soothing you with comforting words again.
“I know he’d love for you to be happy with Wonwoo.”
A month passed by when you saw Wonwoo again. It was only for a couple of minutes until him and Jihoon entered the studio. Despite only seeing him for a few minutes, you noticed the dark circles under his eyes and the smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes when he looked at you.
You clutched the canvas tighter against your chest as you made your way to the arts building to go into the studio to finally finish your painting that was going to be included in the exhibition a few days. When you entered the studio, you flicked the lights on and settled your canvas against the wall. You rolled your sleeves up and began to prepare your paints and paintbrushes that were going to finalise your artwork.
It took you 5 hours to complete your painting, your cheek and denim overalls sporting splotches of paint on them. You stood back and admired your work of art. You fished out your phone and captured a picture of your painting to send to Seungkwan.
While you were cleaning your brushes, your mind wandered back to a memory that inspired your artwork.
You and Wonwoo were walking home after spending hours on the rooftop. He urged you to go to the rooftop after he had a rough day. When you arrived at the rooftop, Wonwoo was already sitting on the ground with a can of beer clutched in his hand. He heard you but he didn’t bother turning around with how tired he was. You leaned down behind Wonwoo and wrapped your arms around him, placing your chin on his shoulder. You remembered Wonwoo spilling everything that went wrong that day while you hugged him tighter to calm him down.
After spending hours on the rooftop, he decided to walk you home. He was back to his normal self, nudging you with his hip as he teased you about hugging him on the rooftop for hours. You giggled when he tipsily laughed at a joke you told him. You reached for your phone that was in the back pocket of your jeans.
You quickly took a picture of Wonwoo while he laughed at another joke you told him.
“Hey! No fair,” he whined, chasing you down the empty streets of Seoul.
“Hey y/n, are you inviting Wonwoo to the exhibition?” Seungkwan chewed on a piece of gum while typing something on his phone.
“I already did.”
“What did he say?”
“Left me on read.”
“I’m sure he’ll come y/n,” Seungkwan reassured, squeezing your hand.
It was the day of the exhibition and you were walking around the hall to look at your other classmates’ paintings. You chatted to some of them and complimented them on their work while they gushed about yours. They loved the idea of your painting of the moon and a boy who was admiring the night sky. You thanked her, smiling at her art work again.
The event was coming to an end but you saw no sight of Wonwoo. Mingyu, Jihoon and even Soonyoung dropped by to see your work of art. The three of them admired your painting for awhile until it finally clicked in their minds who the boy was. They whipped their heads towards you at the same time, wearing matching smirks to tease you.
“Wonwoo huh?” Mingyu wiggled his eyebrows making you chuckle at him.
“Do you know if he’s coming?” you bit your lower lip, fiddling with your hands as you awaited for their answer.
The three boys looked at you with sympathetic smiles, “We’re not sure y/n.” They bid you goodbye after you chatted with them for a while, leaving you on your own again. Some people came up to you to ask you about your painting, asking what prompted you to paint the moon and a boy.
“Just someone special,” you smiled at the old lady.
The event came to an end at 8pm and your professor thanked all of you for presenting your paintings to the public. You were beyond tired when you grabbed your back from the staff room, wanting nothing more than to pick up some food from your favourite takeaway shop and watch reruns of your favourite show with Seungkwan.
You were the last person to leave the hall as your other classmates have already left while you were grabbing your belongings. You would be lying if you said that you weren’t disappointed that Wonwoo didn’t come to the event. However, you knew it was your fault for pushing him away when all he wanted was to be there for you.
You started walking away from the hall, halting once you heard a familiar voice calling out your name. You froze when you heard footsteps nearing you. He was here, you thought.
You turned around to see Wonwoo with a small bouquet of flowers in his hand. He smiled softly at you once he was in front of you. Wonwoo handed you the flowers and you gladly took them from his hand.
“I didn’t want to disturb you when you were talking to people so I decided not to come up to you and just admire your work from afar.”
“Did you like it?”
“I loved it y/n,” he stared at you, silence enveloping you both.
“Good, you were the inspiration for that painting,” you sheepishly revealed. He blushed at your words, tucking his hands behind the pockets of his jeans.
“How about I walk you back to your apartment?”
“I’d love that.”
You walked side by side in comfortable silence with only the noises of passing cars filling in the silence that enveloped you both. It was nice seeing Wonwoo again and you loved the new hair colour he was sporting now.
When you neared your apartment building, Wonwoo spotted the playground that he frequently passed by whenever he collected you from your apartment. He nudged your hip with his own, pointing at the swings nearby.
“Wanna chat for a bit?” You could only nod, following him as he led the way to the swings. You sat down on of the swings while he sat on the other, immediately pushing himself off. You watched in amusement as he got higher and higher, wanting to do the same. But you were too tired to even move your legs so you decided just to watch him goof off.
“Woo,” you called out.
He suddenly stopped, using his feet to stop himself from swinging any further. He turned towards you, raising his eyebrows to urge you to speak.
“I-i’m really sorry for avoiding you,” you started, fiddling with the flowers that laid on your lap.
“Wanna tell me why you did?”
You looked up at him, his eyes staring intently at you. You gulped, feeling nervous the more he looked at you with curious eyes.
“I didn’t want you to get to close..because I was afraid I’d lose you like I lost my ex-boyfriend,” you confessed, running your hand through your hair. You saw him furrow his eyebrows, probably confused as to why you were afraid of losing him when you knew he wasn’t going anywhere.
“H-he died after a drunk driver knocked him over,” you whispered, “He was going home after we argued at my apartment and that was the last conversation we had before he died the same night.”
Wonwoo gasped softly, standing up and kneeling in front of you. He tilted your head up with his pointer finger to get you to look at him. You didn’t resist, wanting nothing more but to look at Wonwoo. Tears started to form in your eyes once they met his.
“I’m really sorry Woo,” you sobbed, pulling him into a hug. He hugged you tightly, both of you nuzzling your heads into each other’s necks. You and him stayed in that position until he his knee started aching.
“You gotta let go of me for a bit, baby, my knees are starting to ache.” With the mention of the term of endearment, your heartbeat quickened.
“Baby huh?” You asked, your eyebrow raised at him.
“Yeah, because you’re my baby now,” he teased, offering you his hand to take. You gladly accepted it, swinging it softly as you and him continued to walk to your apartment building.
“I’ve something for you to listen to before you go to sleep, baby,” he smiled. You turned your head towards him, seeing the faint blush that coloured his cheeks. “What is it?” you asked. “I already sent it to you, you just have to play it when you get home okay?” You nodded, wrapping your arms around his torso. You rested your chin against his chest while you both stood outside your apartment building. You didn’t want to let him go nor did he want to leave you just yet.
“Wanna go out on a date with me tomorrow?” he asked, leaning down to peck your forehead with his lips. You nodded again, placing the side of your head against his chest. “I’d love to.”
“No more running away okay?” You pinched his back lightly before nodding again to reassure him that you weren’t going anywhere again. Despite the fear of losing him in the future lingering in the back of your mind, you were only certain of one thing. You were completely and utterly in love with the man who pushed a steel door against your body that one strange night. He was someone that your heart was longing for and he was the one who helped you heal your heart piece by piece like you did with his.

“Have you seen or heard of Hanako-san of the bathroom around?!” A male with fiery tinted hair questioned a group of students that were walking down the halls, giving him a weird look at the sudden uproar. They explained on how the rumor’s origin took place in the school’s old building, the girls restroom, the male just saying a quick thanks and running off towards the wrong direction. Around the corner of that same hall, a pair of eyes drilled holes onto the boy’s figure as they mumbled something, “What could he be after?”
꒰ᖭི༏ᖫྀ꒱
“It’s no use, I can’t find that dumb school mystery.” Feeling defeated as she bumped her forehead onto the wall, not really caring since there’s always another day and went back to their usual self. Weirdly enough, her initiative to exorcise Hanako led her on the school’s rooftop, not even sure how she got there too.
Just as they were about to glue their eyes onto their phone, she heard footsteps and immediately went to hide in case it was a teacher looking for her since she didn’t go to a single class today. (she thought exorcising Hanako would be better done early) But to her dismay, it was just two students and mentally sighed. She stayed hidden for a while, hearing their conversation about... a prince? Everything was going alright, until she saw someone on top of the roof of the entrance.
“That’s far enough! I finally found you, you vile fiend!”
‘No, it couldn’t be’ And without thinking of what might happen, she jumped out of her hiding spot, seeing three people in front of her. They all gazed at her, the tension in the air growing thicker. Y/n was already about to apologize when noticing a guy with a hat on, her eyes widened at the sudden realization.
“H-Hanako?!!” Exclaiming while pointing at the dark haired one, almost invisible.
“You know him?” The male from earlier said, Kou Minamoto from his grand entrance before she came out of hiding.
“No, but I’ll gladly take the rest from here, so you rest easy.” She confidently reassured Kou as she walked her way to the apparition, drawing her sword that was on her. Before she could let out her anger of trying to find him all day, a girl named Yashiro got in front of him, trying to protect a ghost.
“Hey! I’m trying to save your life here so move so I can exorcise this dumb gho-
“No! I can’t let that happen!” She squeezed her eyes shut. “He’s my friend and I’m his assistant!” Yashiro exclaimed, making her and Kou confused and lost without words.
“FRIEND?!” They both shouted at the same time, already leaving Hanako in the shadows.
“I don’t have time for these excuses.” Putting her hand on the girl’s shoulder while pushing Yashiro gently to find her target, Hanako. “I Y/n L/n have traveled all this way and I will exorcise this supernatural, so you guys better thank me!” Flattering herself too much, looking at the students with an innocent aura- behind her trying to hit the ghost, but he caught her hand in time.
Turning around to look at the ghost, she tried escaping from his grasp, “Get your hands off me you dum-
“Aren’t you a feisty one?” Hanako interrupted while pulling her closer. “Y/n from the L/n clan, you’re very pretty. How about you let me off the hook and I’ll grant you any wish you’d like, hm?” Whispering it into her ear, surprising them with the compliment in between his suggestion.
“...WHAT?!” She panicked and got rid of his grasp, now standing with Kou and Yashiro that were mildly confused as to what he said.
Chuckling to himself, “Isn’t my offer a good one? You can always exorcise me later, but by then you would’ve already fallen in love with me to even do such a thing.” He grinned as he now baffled the three of them.
“Quit talking already! We’re going to exorcise you whether you like it or not!” Kou spoke up as he held his staff from earlier high in the air.
“That’s right, and there’s nothing you can do about it!” He was left unimpressed by both of their sayings, slightly saddened that she didn’t think on agreeing to his deal.
“Please don’t hurt Hanako-kun! He even helped me!” Yashiro spoke up while trying to convince them to not exorcise the school mystery. Leaving Y/n with a small, crestfallen smile, now thinking if she should really exorcise him just by seeing the poor girl helping him.
She sighed, conquered over by a female with cream colored hair just because their interaction with the ghost was kind of cute, even though she shouldn’t be with such a person/ghost. “I wish I could, but I transferred to this school to eliminate Hanako, to prove something.” Her expression was dull, making Yashiro stutter upon her next words.
Silence washed over the atmosphere, right until an incoherent chuckle resonated. “To prove what exactly? Your love for me? How kind~”
“STOP MESSING AROUND BEFORE I EXORCISE YOU!” Having enough of his flirtatious comments, she clutched her sword as she held it in front of her. “Seriously- why bother when I’ve already made my decision.”
Yashiro tried to do something, but was held back by Kou saying how bad of a person he was and still is. Even saying how he was a murderer and used his knife to take someone else’s life, Hanako hugging Y/n from behind and having the knife pointing at Kou and Yashiro.
“Looks like my secrets out, now what will my beloved Y/n think of me?” He looked at Y/n’s expression, it was much more calmer than before, but petrified in a way. Letting her go, she turned around to gaze at him. “Huh?”
“I have every intention to exorcise you, but... just not now.” She shyly looked away, Kou and Yashiro looking at her with a worried gaze.
Hanako smiled at her, “Alright then, what will your wish be? To kiss me?”
“Just shut up.”
END.
ehh i liked it at first but then the ending just made me hate it- i’ll try better next time :)

Firen Lhain: Chapter 610: Bonds:  Part II/III
Jaune and Ren turned down a small, narrow alley when a robed figure stood in front of them.
"You're not getting our money." Jaune said to him.
The man pulled back the robe, revealing Mercury, "I'm not after your money, but I will take it when I'm done with you."
Jaune had pulled his shield out and tapped on the back of it a few times, before looking up at him. "Ren?" Jaune asked, "Behind."
"Indeed." Ren said, as he turned around to see Emerald behind him. "She appears to be concentrating."
"Then stop her." Jaune said, as he drew his sword. Before Emerald could react, Ren had lunged forward, making a ridge strike to her neck with his right hand. She barely moved to avoid it, only for Ren's left palm to strike her stomach. She was momentarily winded, and the fading illusion revealed Cinder behind Mercury. "Can't you stay dead?," Jaune asked, "for like a month?"
"We just need to have a little chat." Cinder stated.
"Uh-huh?" Jaune asked, raising his shield as Mercury lunged forward with a kick. Jaune pushed Mercury's kick back and pushed forward, striking him with his shield. He ran over Mercury, charging at Cinder. An explosion appeared in front of him. He was caught between his own momentum and the force of the explosion, the two holding him in place. When the explosion ended, he fell down, recovering to his left foot and right knee. Mercury recovered behind him and swept out his left leg, causing Jaune to crash forward, only for a another explosion to happen just outside his armour. The explosion held him up for a moment, but he collapsed a momment later.
Ren tried to look back, but was barely keeping Emerald at bay.
Mercury took a moment to get back to his feet, and then moved forward to grab Jaune. "Holy fuck is he heavy?"
"We can worry about that, later." Cinder stated, "Now we need to get him moving."
"Lift!," Emerald shouted, "with the legs!"
Ren once again tried to look back, only to narrowly avoid the blades from Emerald's weapons. He saw something above him. Nora landed behind Emerald. "Jaune!" Ren shouted, and then vaguely nodded toward the alley. Nora stood on her hammer, launching herself into the air. When she glided over to the other side of the alley she saw Jaune on Mercury's back as he tried to run away. As she dove, she found herself struck with a fireball. This knocked her off her path, causing her to crash into the ground. She tried to look at Mercury running away with Jaune only to be hit by another fireball. She looked over to Cinder. Behind her, out of nowhere appeared Ilia, who wrapped her with her Thunder Lash, stunning Cinder. Nora stood on her hammer and launched herself once again, but as she increased in altitude, she could not see any alleys. They were in the tangled mess of lower Mistral, and she could not see hide nor hair of them.
Cinder exploded, launching Ilia away from her. When Ilia turned back around, Cinder had disappeared.
Ren saw Emerald concentrating, but as he struck at her, the illusion was broken, as she was no longer there. He looked over as Weiss landed beside him. "The alley!" Ren shouted, fear, hatred, and tears in his eyes, and Weiss used her Glyph to launch herself down the alley. When she got to the other side, she looked around. She saw signs of battle, but no sign of Jaune or Cinder. She looked Ilia in the eyes as she struggled to her feet, and Ilia pointed at an alleyway. Weiss launched herself into the alley, and landed, running until she got to the first crossroards. She looked around, unable to find him... them... anyone...
"Fucking Faunus." a passerby stated, and she glared at him before remembering why she was there. She looked around, not seeing anything. She looked back at the passerby, "Did you see?"
"I didn't see anything for a Faunus..." the man snidely replied, and turned to walk away
* * *
Yang and Ruby landed next to Ren, who again pointed down the alleyway. Ilia, barely standing, again pointed down the next one. The two ran up behind Weiss.
"What the hell?.."
"I am uncertain..." Weiss's musine voice quietly said.
"Did anyone see anything?!" Yang shouted.
"Possibly," Weiss voiced, "but not... for a Faunus."
"Oh, hell, nah." Yang said. "Which way did he go?" Weiss delicatedly pointed and Yang quickly ran down the alleyway. The man turned to look at her and sneered before turning to look away. "What did you see?!" she asked, and he tried his best to ignore her, until he found himself pinned up against a wall with a knee putting pressure on his balls. "Didn't you know you should answer when a lady asks you something?" Yang asked.
"You are hardly a..."
"No." Yang said, and put the slightest bit more pressure on him, shutting him up, "You can call me Sir. Weiss, didn't you have something to ask him?"
Weiss stepped up behind them, "Which way?.."
"The left." the man said.
"What was that?" Yang asked.
"The left, Sir." he stated, and Yang punched him in the back, letting him go. She looked Weiss in the eyes, "Didn't you have some place to be?"
Weiss' eyes widened with shock, and she turned. She used her Glyph to launch herself, and another to catapult her around the corner. Ruby turned into rose petals to follow her.
"You have no idea how badly you just fucked up." Yang said to him.
"How bad could a Faunus?.." the man asked.
"He... we..." Yang voiced, "might the ones to save the world. We did save Haven." She turned, and used her gauntlets to launch herself into the air, and the man turned with utter shock.
* * *
Nora fell to her knees on the rooftops and shouted, "LEEAADDEERR!!" Blake quietly walked up beside her and squatted down. "WE HAVE TO FIND HIM!" Nora exclaimed.
"We... will..." Blake voiced.
"How can you... how can we?..." a panicked Nora said to her with tears falling from her eyes.
"Because," Blake voiced, "we have to. But right now, we're surrounded by enemies. We can't stay here."
"But?!" Nora exclaimed.
"How well did running around in a blind panic work?" Blake asked, forcefully evening out her breath; desperately trying her best not to join Nora in her panic. Nora looked up at her fearfully. "I promise you - we're - NOT - abandoning him."
"You... you promise?" Nora asked as the tears flowed from her eyes.
"On - my life." Blake slowly and steadily replied, and Nora tearfully nodded.
* * *
Ren walked out of the narrow alley, and up to Ilia. "You... were stalking us."
"I'm so sorry." she voiced, and Ren raised his hand, stopping her.
"You mistake my meaning." Ren said and bowed. As he bowed, a few tears visibly fell from his face. "You have my most sincerest thanks."
* * *
Yang's eyes and hair glew as she started randomly punching through walls. In a blink of her Glyph, Weiss had pulled Yang into a hug, burrowing her face in Yang's breasts. A shockwave of Aura erupted from Yang, damaging more of the nearby structures as they stood in a narrow alleyway. Ruby was on all fours, looking between the different directions, unable to focus, unable to think.
* * *
Aurora walked into the jewellery store and up to the jeweller. "Strange?" she asked, leaning forward, "how they knew exactly where to find us, when we would be most vulnerable?"
"What do you?.." the jeweller asked.
"I believe the jewellery should be gratuis." Aurora voiced, and he looked at her nervously, "Or, I'm sure the Huntsmen and Huntresses would just LOVE to know what happened here?"
The jeweller hung his head forward with a sigh.
* * *
"Break his antlers." Cinder ordered.
"Gladly." Mercury replied, and raised his leg. A crow on nearby rooftop watched the leg crash down through the antlers, shattering them.
"Remove his armour." Cinder added, "He should be a LOT easier to carry."
* * *
The group, sans Jaune, stood in the house's lounge, nervously, angrily looking at each other.
Yang tried to say something, but was on the verge of tears, so instead it just came out as an angry burst.
"We CAN find him." Blake uncertainly voiced.
"You make it sound so easy!" Yang shouted.
"What about Junior's club?" Blake asked.
"What?!.." Yang asked.
"I believe..." Weiss nervously voiced, fighting back tears, "that she means, you were quite skilled at this, before, yes?"
"Yang was always good at finding things in Vale." Ruby added.
"But, this?!.." Yang shouted.
"The stakes are more personal." Ren added, "As such she has trouble finding clarity."
"How can you stay so calm!," Yang shouted, "at a time like this?!"
"Because..." Ren nervously voiced, "enforcing calmness is... the only way that this can work." He pulled out his flute and started to play, and the group started to calm down as his Semblane touched them.
"Leader!" Nora cried.
"We..." Weiss voiced, "we can contact the kingdom's authorities!"
"What the hell was he even doing there?!" Yang asked, and all eyes were immediately on Ren.
"I have taken an oath of secrecy." Ren stated.
"Well," Aurora voiced, and walked up, "I have not." She placed four small jewellery boxes on the coffee table, and all air from the room seemed to disappear. RWBY silently looked at each other, completely unable to say anything.
Ren looked at Aurora nervously, who just gave him a wicked smile in reply.
"Why?.." Blake asked her, "Why are you showing us?.."
"Motivation." Aurora said with a bright smile. RWBY all looked at each other, and seemed to have renewed confidence.
"Alright," Yang eagerly said, "I'll go knock on some doors."
"Ilia and I," Blake stated, "can go talk to the disaffected Faunus. Mistral certainly has enough of them."
"I will speak with the kingdom's authorities." Weiss stated.
"Nora and I," Ren added, "can remain here, to act as soon as we gain any information."
Nora wiped her eyes and proudly stepped up next to Ren.
"And what about me?" Ruby asked.
"Whatever you like, sis." Yang said to her, "Why don't you join Linnet?"
A quick burst of rose petals had Ruby appear next to Weiss.

how the open heart lis would propose:
Jackie Varma:
“please, i never expected you to be the type to think of marriage,” you’d say to jackie one day, drawing circles with your fingers on her body while laying in bed together
“why does that suprise you?” “i don’t know, just expected you to be the type that wouldn’t settle down,”
she’d roll her eyes, knowing she had something big planned out for you
“whatever. goodnight, mc,” she’d say, turning her back on you, making your eyes widened
“i’m usually the little spoon but fine, if you want to be the little spoon this time, i’ll allow it,” you joked, not knowing she was seriously a little hurt and mad
she had known the moment you went out of your way to help her with her money problems
and im not only talking about that time you helped her babysit, no
you had done more than that in her eyes, everytime you’d tell her you found a job she could do, everytime you paid the part of the rent she couldn’t pay, everytime you insisted on going grocery shopping when it was her turn but most importantly, listening to her problems
the small things, mostly. those small details made her fall head over heels in love with you
so when you apologized the next day, because, well, jackie had been ignoring you again, but not because she was mad at you, no, but she didn’t know how or where to propose
so she went to ask her friend, sienna, for help
that helped of course, but she was still nervous that night
“you look beautiful today, mc,” “aww, thanks, jack, so do you,” a blush crept on her face before she intertwined your fingers together
“the liberty hotel? it’s not even our anniversary, jackie, but it’s really sweet you’d bring us back here,” you’d say, the memories of your first date with her flooding through your mind
you turned around when you realised she wasn’t catching up with you, only to find her on one knee
“oh. my. god. i-” you mumbled, but she just shook her head and smiled, “mc, i want you to know how much i love and appreciate you. ever time you help me out, or just whenever you’re there for me, my heart skips beats and i feel like the luckiest girl on this planet to ever exist, so mc, will you please marry me?”
“jackie, i,” you paused and pulled out an identical red velvet box, like the one in her hand, out of your coat’s pocket, causing her eyes to widen before an even bigger smile formed on her face, “so that’s a yes?”
“of course it’s a yes! i love you so much,”
she wrapped her arms around you before pulling you in for a soft kiss, “i love you, too.”
Bryce Lahela:
“hey, do you wanna go to the drive in movie thing tomorrow tonight?” bryce randomly asked you as you were chilling on the couch at the doctor’s lounge after you shifts. “hmm? oh yeah, sure,” you smiled.
“to be clear, i meant just the two of us,” he’d say making you nod before giving him a confused look but quickly dismissing it
he had been nervous to say, at the very least
“what if they say no? oh my god, keiki, what if they break up with me completely? or worse, what if-,” “oh my god bryce, shut up! mc loves you, i’m sure they’ll say yes,”
he loved you, everyone knew that, but the moment he knew that you were the one was when you handled that situation with keiki and his parents very well. he was scared to tell you the truth but when he realised that you didn’t care that he was part of that lahela family, he knew. of course that was only part of the reason, they fact that you could deal with him at all showed him enough.
when you opened the door of your apartment, he was flabbergasted, “wow, mc, you look gorgeous,” “thank you, babe, you don’t look that bad yourself either.” you winked, earning a small blush from him.
“have fun!” was the last thing he heard elijah shout before you closed the door, making him relax a little. “shall we get going, my good sir?” you joked and held out your arm for him which he gladly held onto.
when you looked at the dumb, old, romance movie infront of you, you yawned, which had made bryce even more nervous.
“you alright, mc?” you nodded and smiled at him, “yeah. im fine. you do know we have already seen this movie, right? it was the one that played at our first official-,” he had cut you off, “date. yeah i know.”
he turned so his face was focused to yours before pulling out the box with the ring in it, “mc, i love you so much it even physically hurts sometimes. the moment you told me you didn’t care who my family was and how you showed me how much you love keiki and accepted her as family has made me love you even more, which i didn’t even think was possible, so mc, will you marry me?”
the happy tears streaming down your face and the big smile were all the confirmation he needed, but he just had to hear the words come out of your mouth
“bryce, yes! absolutely! i love you, too, you dork,” you said before pulling him close for a kiss.
Rafael Aveiro:
“no way,” you laughed at a story about young rafael juliana told you, causing him to blush
he sat across from you two and was simply admiring you with a big smile on his face
trust me, this man knew you were the one from the moment he met you. the fact that you always supported him whenever he did stupid and reckless shit made him even more sure. and when you told you never ever wanted to lose him after his accident, he knew that you felt the same way he did.
“so, do you have a plan?” his grandma asked, just seconds after you had left, he furrowed his eyebrows, “what?” “for your proposal!”
after that talk with his grandmother, he planned everything out.
“hey, mc, can you meet me at the rooftop aftsr your shift?” he asked, after finding you roaming the hallways of the hospital
a bright smile on your face after you saw who it was, “‘course. what’s this about though?” he just mischievously smiled, “you’ll see.”
and god were you glad you had that one cute outfit you had forgotten still in your locker
“what are we doing here?” you asked as you two got up to the hospital’s rooftop, “we’re going for a ride with the helicopter,” he smiled, making you widen your eyes, “is that even allowed? i mean you just got your job ba-,” he cut you off, “no need to worry,”
he had stopped at the landscape you two had flown over that one time after the baseball game to watch the sunset and have a picnic
right before the sun had set, he helped you stand up and got down on one knee himself, “raf-,” he cut you off by opening the velvet box in his hand, making you catch your breath
“mc, i knew you were the one from the moment i made you. of course, proposing back then would’ve been waaaaaaaaaay too soon, but i’ve grown to love you even more, which i didn’t even know was possible. you make me want to a better and careful man and in all honesty, no one could ever make me do that last part, so mc, will you marry me?”
you wiped your cheeks, and quickly nodded your head way too fast, “yes, yes, yes, a million times yes! i love you, raf,” you pulled him for a kiss before he responded, “i love you too.”
“wait a second, you never told me about how you got the helicopter?” he grinned, “i told naveen i was planning on proposing,” you laughed a little, before pulling him even closer.
Ethan Ramsey:
this man doesn’t want to get married
i mean sure that thought had crossed his mind, but it wasnt a serious until something happened to you, and i mean something really serious
when you rolled in on that stretcher on a quiet, saturday afternoon lets just say that man was going crazy, god forbid something happening to you, so he was extra irritated that day
“no, no, no, only the best surgeon!!! bryce, this is too personal for you, let emery handle it,” he’d say, not wanting the resident to assist, but only wanting attendings.
when you finally got out of surgery and were placed in the icu, he knew for sure that you were the love of his life and that he was gonna make it official the second you felt better.
when you finally woke up, his face was the first thing you’d see.
“ethan? what happened?” “you got in a car crash, everything’s fine, mc, i promise i wont leave your side. ever.”
after a couple of days, you were finally discharged and god did that feel great
sienna was helping you, taking your stuff and making sure you didn’t feel hurt anywhere that day, “sienna, i’m fine, you can go back to work,” she dismissed your protests before pulling you even closer, letting most of your weight shift on her, “no, i’m going back home with you and then i’ll come back,”
that was until ethan came in, “ah, dr trinh, can i talk to mc alone for a minute?” she’d nod, giving you a knowing look
“what’s up?” “i was uh wondering if you had time today? so i can take you out on.. a date...”
your eyes widened, “yeah. of course. sure.”
that evening you had taken so long getting ready, not really feeling any pain anymore from the medications you had taken
even though you knew you had to stay home and rest, you didn’t
“so where are we going?” you asked as you stepped out of the apartment door when he picked you up
“you’ll see soon enough,” he’d say, linking your arms
he stopped outside of a flower garden, you remembered it as you looked around, “wow, you didn’t forget!” you happily said, before he chuckled, “of course i didn’t forget it,” he said as he looked around the flower garden your parents had gotten engaged at.
“mc, i know i said i didn’t really believe in marriage but those couple of days made me re-evalute my decision,” he’d say, slowly getting on one knee, earning a gasp from you, “seeing you on that stretcher that day made me so scared of losing you, i hope i never have to go through that feeling again, so, mc, will you marry me?”
tears prickled in your eyes, your voice weak while you muttered out a quiet ‘yes’ before shouting it out
“YES, YES, YES, OF COURSE!!!”
he’d pick you up and spin you around, “i love you, mc,”
“i love you, too, ethan.”

Chat Noir waited in the upper beams of the Eiffel Tower, observing the city. This high up, the wind tore at his blonde hair, whipped at his face, but he barely felt it. He was focused, determined, waiting. Waiting for her. He knew she’d show up. She always did.
He didn’t have to wait long.
It was mere moments before he saw that familiar red blur swinging across the rooftops of Paris. He couldn’t see her face yet, but he could imagine the furious scowl, the condemnation in those beautiful eyes. Absolutely devastating.
He watched, idly twirling his baton between his fingers, as she slid to a stop in the plaza below, mere feet away from his father’s latest creation. She kept her weapon at hand, currently in use as a shield, and though her enemy was impossible to miss, she kept searching the area. He’d be lying if he said his heart didn’t give a little stutter at the sight. He’d also be lying if he said he wasn’t flattered.
But he stuck to the shadows of the beams, watching and trying to convince himself what he felt was a rush of adrenaline and nothing more. It wasn’t admiration, and it certainly wasn’t anything like affection - even if ‘affection’ was putting it much too lightly, if he was being honest with himself. Which he hadn’t been doing much of lately.
He watched as Ladybug ran out of time and the akuma-victim struck, lashing out. She dodged it easily, no surprise there. Good technique, but a little over-zealous. Did the trick, he supposed. She dodged another swipe, springing across the plaza. God, she even made fighting look beautiful.
He slid down a beam, a little closer to the fight. She hadn’t brought a friend this time, and some small part of him quietly warmed at that. Just the two of them; that was how he preferred it.
Shut up. Those kinds of thoughts could only lead down one path, and he wasn’t sure he could take any more heartbreak just then.
He slipped closer again, now maybe just twenty feet above them. His tail (god, it was still weird to think of it like that) lashed behind him as he watched. He hated waiting.
“Lucky Charm!”
Chat Noir couldn’t help the feline grin that lit his face as she finally activated her power. And not, he told himself, because it meant he could finally, finally spar with her, talk with her again. No. It was definitely because his plan was falling into place.
Ladybug attacked the villain with renewed energy. He saw her glance around, could practically see how she was planning on using the little spotted toy that had dropped into her hand. He was close enough now that he could see the cute little crease between her brow that always appeared when she was trying to figure out her lucky charm. And if he couldn’t pretend his heart didn’t skip a beat as he marked her victory smile when she did figure it out, he could at least ignore it.
Chat Noir slid down the leg of the Eiffel tower the rest of the way to the ground as the sounds of the battle washed over him. There was a brief moment of silence seconds before his feet touched down, then a quick shout followed by the sound of something breaking.
“Time to de-evilize!” Oh, god, that was adorable. He heard the yo-yo whiz out, heard it snap shut. Show time.
Chat Noir saw her clearly as he sprinted around the side of the tower towards her. Her back was to him, as he’d planned, and her yo-yo was halfway back to her, the stunned akuma-victim dazed on the stones before them.
He threw his baton with lightning swiftness. It sailed across the plaza, striking the yoyo. The weapon whipped around Ladybug nearly too fast to see, pinning her arms to her sides, the force of it knocking her to her knees.
And then he was behind her, hauling her up by the string as she cried out.
“You,” she spat as he secured the string.
“Me,” he said, pulling her along as he retrieved his baton.
“This is cowardly, even for you,” she hissed, struggling to keep her balance.
“Cowardly?” he said with feigned injury. “And here I thought you’d compliment my cleverness. I didn’t break a sweat this time. I even succeeded.”
“It’s not over yet,” she snarled. And then she gave an almighty heave. The string didn’t snap, but it did…slip through his fingers at the sudden weight. Or did he simply let it go? Either way, the surprising lack of resistance meant she found herself over-balanced and face-down on the concrete.
“Looks like you’re finally falling for me,” he said, crouching beside her. The heart-stopping glare she shot over her shoulder was scorching.
“Don’t hold your breath,” she said as he hauled her back up. “Actually, go ahead. I’ll wait.”
“You wound me m’lady,” he said. And before she could distract him with her wit and charm, he swept her up bridal-style and leapt back towards the beams of the tower.
She didn’t even scream. Not the way Chloe or anyone else would have. In fact, he would’ve sworn she actually snarled in protest as they sailed up through the tower, a detail he nearly missed, overwhelmed as he was by her proximity. He’d never been this close before. She smelled like vanilla. His body tingled wherever she touched him, and he didn’t think he was imagining the warmth of her in his arms. In fact, he was rather surprised by the rightness of it.
“Release me,” she demanded as they finally came to a stop.
“Gladly,” he said. He set her down gently, another beam at her back, and him between her and escape without enough room to manoeuvre. And then he reached for her earrings.
He’d never taken off his miraculous while he was transformed, but he was unprepared the burst of pink that erupted from her skin as it began to dissolve, one earring in his hand. He also wasn’t prepared for her reaction. He’d expected more fight, or at least some foul curse thrown his way.
Instead she had curled in on herself, pressed herself right up against the beam, as far away from him as she could get. She’d drawn her knees up to her chest and squeezed her eyes closed, as if she could prevent the inevitable by simply refusing to see it. The wrongness of it, of seeing her small and terrified, struck him so deeply that he hesitated.
Fearlessness. Determination. Kindness. Cleverness. Those were the qualities Chat Noir admired most in her, even when he’d told himself he shouldn’t. Those were the things that left him breathless and wanting more. They were the reason he’d fallen for her, despite his better judgement.
And he knew, even then, with victory literally at his fingertips, her transformation dissolving before his eyes, that he would not be the reason he took those things away from her.
By the time Ladybug realized the sound she heard was her yoyo string slipping back into place and opened her eyes, Chat Noir had disappeared. Her earring had been abandoned on the beam in front of her. When she looked, he was no where to be found.

Marinette fiddled with her pencil, desperately trying to calm her nerves. The Jardins du Trocadero were full of people, but she couldn’t stop staring at the Eiffel Tower across the Seine. Couldn’t stop the images of that morning’s fight flashing across her mind. If she closed her eyes, she could still feel his arms around her, still hear his heartbeat in her ear as he carried her up those steel beams, her head against his chest. She shivered.
“Hey Marinette.”
She nearly fell off her step as Adrien’s voice sliced through the memory.
“Adrien!” she climbed to her feet, mercifully without tripping down the stone stairs. “I’m so glad you could come.”
“My father had to let me, since it’s for school,” he admitted with an adorable grin. “But I only have about 45 minutes.” He glanced around, his gaze lingering on the Eiffel Tower. “What made you pick the Trocadero?”
“Oh, I’ve been coming here forever,” Marinette admitted. “I always find inspiration here. I’m hoping it’ll help out with our design project.”
“Well your designs always have been amazing,” Adrien said as they sat down again. “Have you come up with anything yet?”
“Not yet,” she said, rubbing the back of her neck. “It’s a little hard to come up with something under pressure.”
“I get that,” Adrien said with a small laugh. “Hmmmm.” He looked around again, taking in the sights. “What about something Ladybug themed?”
The tip of Marinette’s pencil snapped against her sketchbook. “L-ladybug themed? Why Ladybug themed?”
“Why not?” he asked. He was looking at the tower again. “I heard there was a fight there this morning. Did you see the footage? She was…incredible.”
Marinette stilled, putting down the sharpener she’d pulled out. “Incredible, huh?”
“I’ve never seen anyone fight like her,” Adrien said. “She’s certainly not making Hawkmoth’s job any easier.”
“Ladybug’s a bit obvious, don’t you think?” There was an edge to her voice she hadn’t known she had, but there it was, sharp as a knife and twice as dangerous. But then, her eyes lit up. “Chat Noir on the other hand?”
Adrien glanced down at Marinette out of the corner of his eye. “Chat Noir? Isn’t he one of Hawkmoth’s cronies? Isn’t he…just as bad as him?”
But Marinette was already sketching, broad, violent strokes across the page. “I don’t think so,” she said absently. If Adrien stopped breathing beside her, she didn’t notice. “I think maybe he’s confused. I think maybe he feels like he has no other choice, or that maybe this is what he has to do.”
“Has to do?” Adrien echoed. “For what?”
Marinette shrugged. She’d shifted beside him, resting her elbow on one side of the book as she twirled an earring with her free hand. “I just think there’s more to him,” she said. “They always say he’s with Hawkmoth, but he’s saved Ladybug about a dozen times. He could have beaten her by now, if he really wanted to.” Marinette’s hand stilled on the page, a rough sketch of a three pieces suit beneath her hand. Adrien could see at a glance that it was indeed inspired by Chat Noir, mimicking the lines of his suit in a way he doubted many people could have done with any great accuracy. There was even a small bell in the centre of the bowtie. And rather than villainous, the figure looked…dashing.
Adrien wordlessly reached over, tilting the sketchbook a little bit more towards him. “Is that really how you see him?”
Marinette swallowed, nodding slowly. “I think…I think Chat Noir could be the hero Paris needs, the partner Ladybug needs, if he could just let himself be that. I think - I know there’s good in him.”
“What makes you so sure about that, Marinette?” Adrien asked, his green eyes flashing. “The way he attacks the city over and over? The way he takes advantage of the people in this city? Or the way he tries to sabotage Ladybug, the best thing that ever happened to these people? To him?”
“I see it,” Marinette said simply. Maybe it was the small smile, or the sureness with which she said it, but in that moment, he almost believed… “But if you’re really against it, we can try something else. It’s a group project after all; I want you to be happy with whatever we decide.”
He was quiet for so long that she really thought he’d ask her to change the design, even though a feeling in her chest was ringing at the rightness of the sketch. The right thing at the right time with the right person. It would be a good project, she could feel it.
But in the end, he just nodded, losing the intensity. “I’d be happy to use this idea for our project,” Adrien said, risking a smile of his own. “Fabric shopping after school tomorrow?”
“Sounds good,” Marinette said. She flipped the sketchbook closed, but Adrien placed a hand across hers, stopping her from putting it away. She felt her face turn red. His hand was so warm.
“I just…it’s stupid, but…after the project, do you think I could have the sketch?” he asked, turning to face her head on. “If you don’t mind.”
“Of course,” Marinette said over her pounding heart. “Yeah, as soon as we get it back, it’s all yours. I’d be flattered.”
“Thanks, Marinette.” He gave her hand a quick squeeze before letting her go. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“See you tomorrow,” she said, waving after him.
The next time one of Hawkmoth’s creations showed up, Chat Noir was no where to be found.

Peter walked into school that day with an extra bounce in his step. He couldn’t keep himself from leaping over the school gate, not caring who could’ve seen. He was in love. He walked past Flash with confidence, easily brushing off his backhanded comments. He walked up to Ned and felt oddly compelled to click his heels. Ned noticed the ecstatic expression on his best friends face and smirked.
“What’s got you so happy? Did a certain wall crawling superhero finally beat Venom in a fight?” He asked. Peter shook his head.
“Not yet. Something even better happened.” Peter said proudly.
“And what might that be?” Ned asked, adjusting his hat. Peter could barely keep himself from screaming.
“Y/n kissed me.” He exclaimed. He got a few strange looks from passing students who didn’t recognize the name. Peter didn’t care. Nothing could ruin his mood.
“What? When? ” Ned gasped.
“This morning. She slept over last night after she had a nightmare. And guess what else?” Peter asked. Ned bounced up and down.
“What? Tell me!” Ned demanded. Peter looked around for who could be listening and smirked.
“She slept in my bed.” He said.
“Oh.” Ned said. He looked disappointed in the anticlimactic finish.
“With me in it.” Peter added. Ned looked amazed. His jaw hung open and he began to bounce up and down again.
“Dude that’s like the greatest thing ever. She’s so hot! We have to tell everyone.” He exclaimed. Peter tried to quiet him down.
“We’re not telling anyone just yet. She’s only
been my girlfriend for a few hours. She’s really special to me, Ned. I don’t want to treat her like shes some prize I won by telling everyone. Girls are worth more than that. Y/n is my girlfriend, not a trophy.” Peter reasoned. Ned nodded in approval.
“Amen to that. What are you losers talking about anyway?” MJ said as she approached them. She was eating trail mix and looked extremely bored already. The first bell hadn’t even rung.
“Peter has a girlfriend.” Ned blurted. Peter shot him an angry look. MJ looked impressed.
“Oh really? Who is she, your right hand?” MJ smirked. Ned looked confused while Peters face went red.
“It’s not my right hand. She lives in my building and she’s an angel. That’s all you need to know.” Peter grumbled, still annoyed that Ned spilled his secret. It wasn’t that he was ashamed of Y/n, the exact opposite actually. He would shout it from the rooftops that they were together if he could. He just didn’t want everyone to know. They had only kissed that morning. Peter still wanted to keep the magical details to himself.
“Does this angel have a name?” MJ questioned. She was actually interested in something for once.
“No.” Peter said at the same time Ned said “Y/n L/n.”
“Y/n L/n from The L/n Report?” MJ asked. It was the first time Peter or Ned heard emotion in her voice.
“You know her?” Peter asked.
“Duh. She’s the only investigative reporter I’ve seen who actually cares about the people she reports on. I read her articles all the time. We have a lot of the same opinions. I used to think she was the coolest girl ever.” MJ stated. This was the longest conversation either Ned or Peter had ever had with the mysterious girl. It was also the most she ever said at one time.
“Used to think?” Ned asked.
“Well clearly something’s wrong with her if she’s dating Peter.” MJ said. Ned laughed and Peter looked at her angrily.
“There’s nothing wrong with her. She’s absolutely perfect.” Peter defended.
“I know she is. I’ve idealized that girl for year. Did you guy see what she did to Carlton Drake?” MJ pressed. Peter nodded and smiled proudly at the thought of his girl kicking names and taking ass.
“She’s like my hero. She’s done so much for the homeless back in San Francisco. I was so excited when she said she was moving to New York to work for The Daily Bugle.” MJ gushed. Peter and Ned looked at each other, visibly confused.
“Have you always done that?” Ned asked her.
“Done what?”
“Felt things?” Ned said. MJ rolled her eyes.
“I feel very passionate about a lot of things. Those things just don’t happen to include you two or anyone else in this school. However, I am very passionate about your girlfriend.” MJ stated. She suddenly looked a little uncomfortable and unsure of herself, two things MJ never did. She awkwardly turned to Peter.
“Do you think I could meet her? I’d really love to talk to her about her article on fracking.” MJ asked slowly. She wasn’t used to asking people for things. Peters eyes softened at this new side of MJ.
“She’s picking me up from school today on her motorcycle. You can meet her then.” Peter said. MJ did something very out of character. She smiled.
“K thanks.” She blurted and then swiftly left. Ned and Peter laughed as she walked away.
“That was new.” Ned commented.
“Yes It was.” Peter agreed.
“She’s so odd.” Ned added.
“Yes, she is.”
“Did you do the hanky panky with Y/n?” Ned asked. Peter snapped his head towards Ned.
“What? No. And never say ‘hanky panky’ again.” Peter said. Ned shrugged.
“It was worth asking. See you at lunch.” Ned said before walking towards his class. Peter finished getting his books and walked towards his own class. He couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. He wondered what Y/n was up to at that very moment.
At 3:30, you pulled up to Midtown Tech on your motorcycle. You took off your helmet, shook your hair out, and scanned the crowd for Peter. You soon saw him, Ned following shortly behind him, and a girl you had never seen before. She wasn’t wearing makeup, which you gave her props for, and had her curly hair tied back in a pony tail. She was undeniably pretty and had a very cool vibe to her.
“Hi beautiful.” Peter said when he reached you. He wrapped his arms around your waist and hugged you tightly.
“It’s torture not being with you for 8 hours.” He mumbled.
“I know. But schools almost over right? Then we can spend every second together.” You promised. Peter smiled happily. He leaned in slightly, as if asking for your permission, and you did the same. You pressed a soft kiss to his lips. He smiled into the kiss and held you closer. This time, there were no interruptions.
“Y/n, I’d like you to meet MJ. MJ, this is Y/n.” Peter said, gesturing to the girl. MJ smiled shyly at you and held out her hand.
“It’s really cool to meet you, Y/n. Your article on greenhouse gases is hanging on my wall. I’m uh, I’m a big fan.” She said. You smiled brightly at her.
“You’re a fan? That’s amazing. I’ve never met a fan before. It’s really cool to meet you too, MJ. And if you’re interested in the environment, I have a bunch of scientists numbers I can give you. I had to interview a bunch back in San Francisco to write that article. They gave me some great tips on how to reduce my carbon footprint.” You told her. MJ’s eyes widened just a little. She looked baffled and gave you a thankful smile. You noticed one of her front teeth was slightly askew. You decided you liked her already.
“Really? That’d be so cool. Thanks.” She said. I squeezed her arm and nodded.
“I think you and I are going to get along just fine. Can I get your number? I’d love to hear more about what you’re interested in.” You handed MJ your phone and she took it. She typed her number it and handed it back.
“This has been really amazing. Thanks for being so cool. I have to run though. I’m running a protest outside of Oscorp. One of their employees got seriously electrocuted and they’re to cover it up.” MJ explained.
“Really? Is it okay if I tag along? I’m kinda busy with my Cletus Kasady story but I would love to cover your protest too.” You asked. MJ looked amazed.
“You’d do that for me?” She asked as if she wasn’t used to people doing things for her.
“Gladly. Can I join? I can give you a ride there.” You offered. She smiled at you and toyed with the strings on her backpack.
“That’d be great. See you losers later.” MJ gave Peter and Ned a peace sign. You gave Peter a quick peck on the lips and climbed back on your bike. MJ got on and held onto your waist. You two sped off towards Oscorp, leaving Peter and Ned in your wake.
“Dude. MJ just stole your girlfriend.” Ned said.
“Shut up. No she didn’t.” Peter said. Did she though? You seemed to hit it off with her pretty quickly. Peter didn’t know MJ too well but he knew she was guarded and didn’t let people in easily. In fact, she didn’t let anyone in. And yet, you and her had become best friends in a matter of minutes.
Heading back from Oscorp a few hours later, you saw a familiar hat bobbing up and down in the street. You were about to call out Neds name when two guys came from around the corner. They looked mean and you could hear Ned’s heartbeat rising. You quickly ran over to him.
“Hey.” You panted. Ned looked relived to see you.
“Oh hey Y/n. How’d your date with MJ go?” He teased. You shoved him slightly.
“It wasn’t a date. She’s really cool though. I think we’re going to be good friends.” You said as you passed the two guys. You soon heard a whistle.
“Damn baby. Where you going with him? Don’t you wanna stay here and have some fun?” one of the guys called. You and Ned picked up your pace.
“I know you heard me beautiful. Stop running before I give you a reason to run.” The man said again, louder this time.
“Keep walking.” You whispered to Ned.
“I said stop running.” The man shouted, this time, his threat was accompanied by the sound of a gun cocking. You and Ned froze in your steps. The two men slowly approached you, all while pointing the gun level with your head.
“That’s better.” One man said when he reached you. “Now, how about this. You suck my dick, or I shoot your friend. Does that sound fair?” He purred.
“I better call Peter. He’ll know what to do.” Ned panicked.
“No need.” You growled as your transformed into Venom. You marched up to the guy and grabbed him by the shoulders in a death grip. You spit at a nearby newspaper in the ground. The newspaper quickly disintegrated and left nothing but smoke behind. You smiled devilishly at the man, grateful for a chance to show off your acidic saliva.
“What was that?” The man cowered in your grasp. Meanwhile, his friend ran away terrified.
“Acid spit. Still want me to suck your dick?” You asked. The man whimpered and shook his head furiously.
“Didn’t think so. Now, if you don’t tell us the names of ten historical feminists who would be very disappointed in your sorry ass by the time I count to ten, we’re going to eat you. Does that sound fair?” You growled. The man shut his eyes in fear.
“One.” You began to count.
“Uh...” He whimpered.
“Two.”
“Um.” He raked his minuscule brain for answered but came up empty handed.
“Ten.” You said and bit his head off. You quickly ate the rest of his body before turning back into yourself. You wiped your hands and patted your stomach before turning around and making eye contact with Ned. You had completely forgotten he was there.”
“You’re Venom?!” He gasped. You ran up to him and covered his mouth.
“What? No. How do you know about Venom anyway?” You asked. You took your hand off Neds mouth.
“It’s you. I can’t believe it’s you.” Ned exclaimed. You were getting more and more confused.
“You’re Venom. You, Y/n, are Venom.” He repeated as if it all made sense now.
Peters Y/n he thought.
“Play dumb.” Venom whispered.
“What? I’m not Venom. What makes you say that?” You asked.
“Not that dumb!” She yelled. Ned looked at you and laughed. He was still in shock.
“You and Peter are perfect for each other, you know that? You’re both dumb as shit.” He laughed. You had to laugh a little as well.
“You’re Venom and Peter is…do you know about Peter?” Ned suddenly asked.
“What about Peter?” You asked. Neds eyes went wide, and then filled with sadness.
“Nothing. Don’t worry about it. Are you gonna tell him about this? Because I’m going to be very honest with you, I’m terrible at keeping secrets. I don’t know if I can keep this from him.” Ned said. I nodded at him in understanding.
“I’m gonna tell him eventually. Please, don’t say anything. He has to hear it from me. I’m sorry that I’m making you lie to your best friend but this is a very unique situation.” I said. Ned blew out a breath.
“It’s a lot more unique than you think.” He muttered. “I won’t tell him.”
“Thank you.” You hugged him tightly, thankful that he was safe and keeping your secret. You walked Ned home and began to make your way back to the apartment building. You wanted nothing more than to cuddle with Peter and forget the day. You missed him all day at school. It was bearable when you guys were just friends, but now that he was your boyfriend you never wanted to be apart.
When you were just a few blocks from your apartment, you felt a strong arm wrap around your neck and hold you in place. Suddenly, there was a knife to your throat.
“I saw what you did to my buddy, you little freak. Now, how about you get down on those pretty little knees before I kill you?” The man threatened. You turned your neck as much as you could and recognized your attacker as the mans friend who ran away from earlier. You sighed deeply. You were full and trying to keep your body count to a minimum. You shut your eyes and we’re about to turn into Venom when you heard a voice from behind you.
“Now that’s no way to treat a lady.” The voice rang. You recognized it as Peters voice. The guy was quickly pulled away from you as if by some kind of rope. You heard some sort of webbing going on behind you and small cries of struggling from the man.
“Are you alright Miss?” Peter asked.
“I’m fine Peter.” You finally turned around but instead of seeing your boyfriend, you saw the friendly neighborhood pain in the ass. He had webbed your attacked to the wall and was now looking right at you. You had seen him so many times before, and he’d seen you, but never like this. You felt almost naked, standing before Spider-Man as Y/n instead of Venom.
“Oh.” You said, startled. “I’m sorry. I thought you were someone else.”
“Yea. This is a pretty popular outfit.” Spider-Man joked, gesturing to his skin tight suit. You bit your tongue. He was funny, but you couldn’t let him know that. You were enemies after all. He just didn’t realize it was you.
“Thanks for saving me.” You blurted. “But I had the situation handled.”
“You’re right. You especially looked like you had it handled when he was about to stab and murder you.” Spider-Man said sarcastically. You found him oddly charming, despite your history.
“What are you gonna do with him?” You asked, pointing to the man webbed to the wall.
“I heard what he said to you. I’m going to register him as a sex offender and ruin his life. Unless, you had other plans. You know, since you had the situation handled.” Spiderman remarked. You playfully rolled your eyes. You did have other plans. Plans that involved eating him and digesting him while you cuddled with Peter. But Spider-Mans plan was okay too.
“Alright. I’ll see you around Spider-Man.” You said, giving the superhero one last look. There was something familiar about him. Spider-Man nodded.
“See you around. And please, be careful. Don’t walk alone. I don’t want to see you get hurt.” He said and turned back to the man.
You went home, showered, and got into some comfy clothes. You missed your boyfriend dearly and went to his apartment to see him.
After being let in by May, you went into Peters room and flopped on his bed. He was sat at his desk doing homework.
“Did you mean what you said about me sleeping over whenever I wanted?” You asked, voice muffled by his pillow.
“Of course I did.” He swiveled around to look at you and noticed your body language.
“What’s wrong, love?”
“I’ve had a long day and I want to cuddle my boyfriend.” You pouted. Peter smiled at you calling him your boyfriend. He closed his textbook and climbed into bed with you. You rested your head on his chest, right over his heart. The sound of his heartbeat calmed you down and you felt sleepy.
“Did you make any progress on your story?” He asked. You shook your head as he began to run his fingers through your hair. You hummed in content and pressed a small kiss to his neck. He blushed at the affection and held you closer.
“No. I’ve had the worst writers block all day. I was actually thinking of writing an article on Spider-Man until my writers block went away.” You said. After your encounter with the masked hero, you wanted to know more about him. Sure, there are plenty of articles on Spider-Man out there, but you knew him intimately.
You felt Peters heart stop momentarily.
“Spider-Man? Why?”
“I think I have a pretty good shot at figuring out who he is. Like, think about it, he only operates from the hours of 4 to midnight ish right? Except, on weekends, when he’s seen all throughout the day. What’s he doing all day on weekdays? He can’t be at work because jobs don’t end that early. I think he’s in school. Either high school or college. But college schedules are very flexible. My best guess is he’s a high school student.” You said. You were very good at your job. You loved piecing together information and getting the full story.
“Oh wow.” Peter said, dumbfounded. He was usually blown away by your intelligence, but now it was working against him. There are a million high school students in New York, though. Surely you wouldn’t figure it out.
“And think about this, he’s only ever in New York, so he must live here right? But what about that one time he saved those kids in the Washington Monument? What was New York’s superhero doing in Washington? Well I looked into it and the kids he saved were on a field trip. What if Spider-Man was on the field trip too? If I look up all the schools that were there, I could create a list of suspects and go form there. Then, I could-“ you were cut off with a kiss.
“Let’s not talk about Spider-Man. I want to hear about you day. How was Oscorp?”
“We had a really good time. I interviewed her after I helped her with the protest and then we grabbed lunch. Oh, and I saw Ned on my way home.” You recalled.
“You saw Ned?” Peter asked. Ned hadn’t mentioned seeing you.
“Yea. These two guys attacked us. One ran away and I took care of the other. But then the one that ran away came back and you’ll never guess who saved me. “
“Who?” Peter smiled. He knew who.
“Spider-Man. I don’t know. I was wrong about him. I used to think he was just some guy in spandex with a God complex but now I think he just genuinely wants to help people. And…” you trailed off.
“And?”
“He’s got a nice ass.” You admitted. Peter laughed loudly. You smiled into his chest. You loved that damn laugh.
“I’m serious. I saw it as he walked away and it knocked me out. Spider-Man is dummy thick.”
“Please never say the words “Spider-Man is dummy thick” in my house again.” Peter pleaded. He secretly loved it though.
“I was actually thinking of making that the title of my article.” You joked. Peter laughed again. He chucked a pillow at you and you giggled.
“Let’s go to bed. In a romantic, but still non sexual way this time.” You said, your exhaustion hitting you finally as you yawned.
“Good night my Nancy Drew.” Peter said.
“Goodnight my whoever Nancy Drew was boning.” You yawed again.
“Ned Nickerson.” Peter laughed.
“Then goodnight Ned Nickelodeon.” You said, half asleep.
“Close enough.” Peter smiled.

A Wall Kicked In - Levi x Reader PT.2
A continuation of the first part
Warning: Angst, Violence, Cursing, Mentions of Blood
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Titans swarmed inside the city through the newly founded hole you had created, Levi got off of you just as you latched your jaws down onto your hand. Lightning shot up into the sky as your titan encased you in it's nape once again bringing you to a standing position. You took the chance whilst Levi was still in a state of shock to escape from him, taking off towards the heart of the city you occasionally looked over your shoulder catching sights of the Scouts and now Garrison soldiers too focused on fighting the titans that had spewed into the district, smoke and fire rose towards the sky from the buildings getting destroyed- citizens scattered the streets like terrified sheep.
That's when another lighting strike went off a few meters behind you, reaching a market center- a wide open space you spun around and skidded backwards with a grunt as you watched Eren charge towards you. Dropping to your knees you dodged a swing of his first that was aimed to your face, kicking his feet from underneath him you watched as he fell on his back before he caught a grip on your ankle and yanked you down with him. Growling- Eren hurried onto your lap only to get forced back into a building from your foot going straight into his chest.
Scrambling to your feet you took off in the opposite direction while Eren was still laying against the building, loud thumping of your heels hitting the stone ground rang in your ears as you scurried away. The screams and shrieks of the people didn't falter and neither did the titans when chasing them.
'Wouldn't mind if Reiner helped me out here... They wouldn't be expecting it! We can take them by surprise and escape with Eren. But I gotta keep them focused on me.'
You turned a sharp corner and fell to your hands and knees when the sharp feeling of your heel being sliced open shot up your leg. Darting your hand straight to your nape you stayed there for a few moments before the sounds of rattling of gear and a small grunt of someone landing in front of you filled the tense air. Levi squinted his eyes as he stepped towards you- seeing your orbs follow his every move as you looked down to him. He stayed quiet for a few seconds, staring at you as you watched him before a rapid tapping of footsteps thundered from behind, turning you looked around to see Eren bounding towards you like a wolf to a sheep. You shot your head back forward and began to scurry forward again as Levo flew to the side to watch as Eren tackled you to the ground.
'Dammit! They're devils! Fucking bastards!'
You felt Eren take a grip of your titan's H/C hair and yank your head up before slamming it down to the ground, he stradled your lower back and continued to slam the side of your face to the ground. Arching your back upwards like some cat would- you threw Eren off of you and sat up, wobbling a little as he gripped your face once more and threw you into a building.
Your head flew back as your arms went limp for a few seconds, legs sprawled along the rubble. Blood splattered the ground along with broken wooden beams and banisters.
The inside of your titan's nape was hot and steaming, muscle latched to your cheeks and forehead along with encasing your arms and legs in the hot tissue. Dazed E/C orbs stared forward to the bloody pink muscle that was mere inches away from your face.
// Flashback \\
"Levi I got your tea~" you sang as you walked into his office holding a tray of tea and cookies for him whilst clicking the door shut with the heel of your boot. Levi drifted his cobalt hues up to you from his book as he closed it and set it on his desk. "Back at it again with the cookies I see?" He hummed watching you nod and smile before setting the tray in front of him. Taking a seat in the chair opposite him at his desk you noticed the knowing look he shot you.
"You're not gonna sit next to me and eat some of these?"
"Oh? Well I got them for you but I'll gladly sit next to you~" you hummed before bringing your chair next to his. He leant over and pecked your cheek before taking a sip of his tea. "I've noticed you've been on your best behaviour lately F/N, what happened to finding you in the infirmary after you've fought with another cadet? You did something wrong haven't you?" Levi quizzes as you look at him in surprise for a few moments before shaking your head.
"I never knew it was a crime to stop fighting people and try and spoil my boyfriend with cookies" you teased as he clicked his tongue. "Tsk, yeah, spoil me all you want- I know for a fact if and when we have children you'd spoil them and turn them to brats." Levi grunted as you snickered whilst turning a light red. "Believe whatever you want hun, I'm just trying to make you happy~" you chirped as Levi rolled his eyes, "I already am you shit." He retorted making you titter as he ruffled your hair.
// End of Flashback \\
"And when we have children.. That's a dream for another life..." You mumbled, conscious back to your human form for that few seconds before you returned it to your titan. You saw Eren tightening his fist as he then shot it straight to your eye socket, the force of it breaking a part of your titan's skull and Eren's arm. Levi was now on the roof of some building watching you and Eren, making sure Eren didn't entirely kill you since you'd be most likely be brought in for questioning. He was upset, angry and he felt used, betrayed in the worsed way.
By now Hanji, Erwin and everyone else had arrived after finishing the titans inside the district- leaving the Garrison to tend the hole. Armin strode to the edge of the rooftop with a confused expression on, noticing that Eren had went quiet and still. He brought his ocean blue iris' to your titan where it lay limp. Tears were streaking down your cheeks which was what Eren was presumably watching.
"She's... Crying..?"
"She's what?" Mikasa appeared by his side, letting her brows furrow once seeing you. "Why? Why is she crying? Why has Eren gone unresponsive?" She questioned as Eren sat there, watching silently with his hands by his side. "It doesn't matter, we can still take her down! Even! Hurry up and get her!" Jean interrupted, shouting across to the titan shifter who glanced at the group before reluctantly bringing your shoulders forward- hands thumping as they hit the ground.
Eren was about to rip open your nape until a hard, white like tissue of skin began to coat your titan. Resembling something like the crystal Annie used to save herself yet it was white. It took over your titan and hugged it's skin like a protective suit. Throwing Eren off of you- you flung him towards the building where the Scouts stood. Hurriedly standing up you charged towards the wall- seeing it only as a couple of meters away. The white layer of your titan began rumbling and soon massive long spider like legs came ripping out of your back, making it even faster as you climbed up the wall.
"S-She has extra limbs?! She can make more!" Hanji shrieked in panic seeing you mount the top of the wall. "Levi! Get her! Do something!" The woman continued, turning to her side where he was only to see an empty space. Her eyes grew wide as she looked back to the wall where he flew up.
His blades shattered upon trying to slice off one of your extra limbs. Landing smoothly on the wall next to you- he gulped and shook his head before taking out another set of blades as you stared. "My blades won't work! But they will eventually! Watch me rip you F/N! You won't win! E-Even if you're not trying!" He stuttered before trying to drive another blade into the limb, only for it to shatter on impact. He looked up to you, anger and distraught evident on his face.
"Why do you do this!? Do you know how many people you killed!? Do you!? You fucking idiot what was all this for!? What even was I to you- you asshat!?" He roared up to you as you silently shook your head. Gently you reached down and lightly pet his hair, taking him in a gentle hold as you let your thumb ruffle his raven locks. He looked up to you with a drained expression and watched as you pulled away and disappeared off the side of the wall towards Wall Maria.
PHOSPHENES - Chapter 2
Day 1.
Day 4.
The next Monday, finally Taeyeon had a chance to meet Lee Jinki, the supposed head of the design team, and the studio as well. She almost dropped down her chair when a guy wrapped in grey turtle neck with sleek black hair approached her. His bangs sort of too long, swiped slightly to the side and it bounced fluffily each step he made.
“Heyho, Taeyeon. My apologize, I just have my time to greet you.”
The said man dragged the chair from Minho’s station and sit comfortably next to her, completely opposite with her state which still cannot swallow what just flashed before her eyes. Who knows her boss’s boss looks like what you described as sunshine on Saturday morning after a whole dreaded week?
“You greeted me on the email, already. Don’t worry about that.”
“I prefer to do it properly. Besides, my fiancé would gladly slap me right on the face if I got caught being manner-less.”
Ah, right. The fiancé. This man is taken and bonded to someone already, how on earth I even dare drooling over his beautiful appearance? Get a grip, Lee Taeyeon!
“God bless your fiancé, then.”
“I wouldn’t want any other way,” Jinki beams into very bright diamond, Taeyeon gulped down a lump of sickening air once again for seeing the scene, “So, how is it going so far? You like it here? Jonghyun passed my notes already last week, yes?”
“It’s going well, and yeah, you got the most awesome crew. I’m doing some drawing for the studio house, the one at the rooftop.”
“Ah, yes, yes. Mind if I take a look? Did Minho check it already?”
Taeyeon hesitated for a second, “Actually, I have no clue. Last week he was so busy and told me to just email it to him so he can review that. I did send it but haven’t heard anything from him until this morning, though.”
“This hybrid frog,” Jinki moved closer to the screen to assess the design she has been making, “This one, the façade. Umm, can you make two options of it? This one is okay, but with the full glass like this, probably we need more detail with the frame and glass later and my friend Kim Jonghyun there won’t be happy with that. Plus, the site is quite dense, we need confirmation from the client about this much of exposure. Push this wall back like around one meter, but check first, if it’s possible with the other room behind, and move the glass wall to the front another one or one and half meter. So we’ll have sort of small green house and solid wall then.”
The words Jinki recited sounds like a beautiful poet in her ears and she mentally smacked the back of her head because of that. Quickly she took her sketch book to explain what she meant by the idea.
“Well, I was thinking to provide more sunlight to the house since the location is crowded enough. However, what you’ve just said is all make sense.”
He sends her another sweet smile she nearly had another heart attack, “Completely understand. I like your idea, that’s why I asked you to make another option and not changed what you already did so far. Who knows the client prefer your design than mine, right?”
Dazzling light’s suddenly blinding her eyes when Jinki decided to turn into human torch. Taeyeon immediately thanking all of the good deeds she did for having such understanding boss like him. It swept all her anxiety at once because in the past, her boss was a middle age man who’s very demanding until the day she resigned from the position.
“Oh, and Taeyeon, actually I need the drawing for my parents’ house by Thursday or Friday. My fiancé and I will have family dinner on Friday night, so can you help me to prioritize that?”
I’ll do anything for you, Sir!
Taeyeon almost surrendered on her knee listening how soft and polite Jinki delivered his request.
“Yes, of course! I’ll fix this one very quickly then take care of that so hopefully on Thursday I’ll be able to show it to you. If there’s some stuff you don’t like, we will have time to revise that before Friday afternoon.”
“Sounds great. Oh, and one more thing, when Minho arrived discuss your work with him and tell him to go to my desk after.”
Jinki must have caught the sudden change of expression on Taeyeon’s face. He returned back to her side and crossed both his arms on her desk to support his leaning torso.
“What? Something’s wrong?”
“No, no, nothing!”
“Then why your face looks like I asked you to do some marathon at this very minute at this very weather?”
She bites her lower lips instantly, caught red handed. She knew she’s the worst with lying, especially to people who’s really nice with her.
“Maybe it’s just me. But I feel Minho is.. not comfortable with me.”
She tried so hard to pick her words, to avoid using the ‘hate’ word.
“Yet.”
“I know it’s only three days I’ve been here. He seemed doesn’t want to work with me. Well, like I said before, maybe I’m just being too sensitive. Nevermind. You’re right. He needs more time to adjust. I’ll convey your message to him, then.”
Taeyeon put her smile, but it’s so flat and unnatural Jinki can only chuckle seeing her flustered attitude.
“Listen. You may have heard one or two things about him from the other. But trust me. As far I know, and I know very well, he’s a really good architect. And a friend who’s very great, kind, and warm. I’m agree that his façade, plus those huge eyes, they’re intimidating sometimes.”
“Very. You have no idea.”
Her honest opinion got him cracking on the spot.
“Lee Jinki! Your fuckin’ fiancé threaten to burn the office down if you’re not answering the phone call! Go back here and take care of your phone that had been ringing hundred times! Stop torturing me!!”
Jonghyun popped out from the glass room and shouted to the whole office.
“That’s my cue. I’d better go back there before you need to find another place to continue your internship!”
He winked quickly and dashed into the glass door that just slammed shut by Jonghyun. She winched silently for the idea of sitting together to discuss her progress with Minho. The man didn’t do anything wrong, though, he barely did anything. His desk seemed more like bus stop instead a work station. If anyone summed up the entire encounter happened between Taeyeon and Minho, it would be no more than five hours, which includes the time they passed each other at the toilet’s entrance or on the office corridor.
But miracles happened this morning. The handsome architect looks like in a very good mood. He arrived thirty minutes later and even stopped by near the vending machine and jokes around with Amber who was kicking the poor machine for swallowing her coins. The way they slapped each other’s arms and loud chattering proofs Jinki’s right, he is a warm person.
She cursed her sensitivity for asking too much. So when he passed her, she put the best smile she had and shakes the negative thoughts off her mind.
“Good morning, Minho!”
On the other hand, the latter is not ready with such jolly greeting. When the image of an innocent girl offering a smile that worth all his time of the day, he’s forced to chew his inner cheek and took his best effort composing some words.
“Oh, good morning.., Taeyeon.”
Are you fifteen years old or what, Choi Minho?! What’s with the unnecessary stutter?
“How’s your weekend?”
“Was okay. Saturday with friends and Sunday with my family.”
Taeyeon tilted her head to the side directing her attention fully to Minho, without fail making the tall guy flustered and rushed to turn on his computer so he can hide the crimson tint on his cheeks he’s yet realized not that apparent but feels very intense on his skin.
“Sounds nice.”
She turned back to her screen, sighing contently, imagining patting her own back for dropping her pride and actually trying to approach him with friendly conversation. Not so bad, Lee Taeyeon.
“And you?”
Did I hear correct? He’s actually asking me? Not working-related topic?
“Me?”
“Well, Suho is not around and I believe Hyungsik over there is engrossed to some outer space songs blasting from his headphone I wished he bought a better one because as we can see or rather listen, I don’t need to ask him to know what he’s listening too. So. Yeah, you.”
“Well, I worked during weekend too. So it was tiring, but fun somehow.”
“Cool.”
Minho pulled a super short smile and left Taeyeon almost dropping her jaw, waiting for further words which never came out from him. She shrugged and decided she was just lucky the past five minutes. Until she remembered what’s Jinki said earlier.
“Uh, Minho?”
“Hmmm?” he didn’t move his eyes from his phone.
“About the houses. Jinki asked me to discuss the design and his input this morning, and after that he asked you to go see him.”
He cocked his head suddenly with the why-don’t-you-tell-me-earlier expression hanging under his forehead. Quickly he grabbed his notes and folder from the drawer and stood up from his seat.
“Where are you going?”
Taeyeon can see crystal clear how Minho hesitated not to roll his eyes, “To see Jinki.”
“Yeah, but he said we need to discuss this first.”
“I got important meeting with a client in twenty minutes.”
The words rolled out his lips sounds tougher than any construction Taeyeon ever designed, but this time she didn’t back down even from where she sits, his board built looks two times more threatening.
“I understand. By any chance, have you checked my email last week?”
“No, I was very occupied with the last apartment that I visited.”
 He doesn’t even feel bad. Guilty? My ass.
“Then how can I proceed with this without your approval?”
She must have raised her voice quite far for Changmin turning his head quickly to the crime scene. Minho, although, didn’t budge an inch and match his stern gaze to Taeyeon’s.
“Well, nobody’s here to baby sit anyone, for your information. Being independent is also a task given to you.”
“I’m not asking anyone to take care of me, but since we work in a team, at least we need to talk over some stuff here, no? What’s the point coming here if I just need to do it by myself? You can just send the work to my email and I didn’t need to leave the house.”
The girl cannot believe what she blurted out, however, it’s more than too late to fix the atmosphere.
“Why are you complaining to me? Those jobs are from Jinki.”
The displeased look he gave to her is not helping her rage at all. However Minho doesn’t look like he’s done venting out his anger so Taeyeon complied right away.
“But you’re my direct superior. I thought I supposed to go through you first before stepping on you and just run to Jinki.”
“Your application said you have working experience before. You should know how to handle a project if your colleague got handful stuff on their end. You can always return to your beloved United Kingdom for some charity if working here is too tough for you.”
What she asked is just two ways communication but what she got in returned is baseless accusation. Taeyeon cannot hide her disappointment anymore.
“Now excuse me, Jinki is waiting and I have no time to ruin my day with argument.”
Ruin your day? Talked about you ruined my whole week ahead!
After he left, she took her iPod and went to the other direction, hoping to cool her head with solitude in the pantry. Changmin grabbed his phone right away and typed rapidly on it.
To GameKyu:
The new intern is no joke. She just shoved her guts under Minho’s nose. Did I tell you I put dibs on her yet? If not, now you know!
He tossed his phone to the table just like that before entailing Taeyeon’s silhouette that just disappeared from his sight. He dragged Bora on the way from her seat, knowing that the girl wouldn’t miss such a gossip.
One and half hour later, Minho returned to his desk just to find some drawing printed and placed neatly next to his keyboard. A small post it attached at the right top corner.
‘Please review it before you hop on your next schedule. This only needs 15 minutes. Thank you.’
He sighed heavily while tracing the small notes before his eyes.
‘You haven’t checked it yet? Open your email. Now. In front of me. And tell me what do you think about that. Don’t you dare shoot me another excuse. Now. I knew you have your phone.’
Words from Jinki are still roaming his thought. He glanced to his side, with her hair pulled up into a bun, her neck looks even more slender. Judging from her back view, he would never guess she could stand her ground and voiced her thoughts like that.
The cold treatment she gave when he passed her desk and how the cable of her earphone plugged on visible from his position makes him sighed again. He took a marker in front of him and started sketching on the printed layout.
***
Taeyeon has been sitting in the same position on her bed for almost an hour now. Her eyes glued to the sticky note in front of her. She recites the words hundred times in her mind but nothing changes, means it’s real. It’s not only in her imagination.
‘I’ve checked these and put some notes and sketched some details needed. Already took pictures and send it to Jinki. You can continue both options for the rooftop house. Sorry if I was being a jerk earlier.’
When she returned after lunch, she didn’t expect she’d found set of paper she decided to print after Bora and Changmin calmed her down, laid out on her closed laptop. Looking around, she realized no one’s in her team available on their post. Not even Hyungsik, the guy who’s almost always hooked with his Spotify at the corner.
Much more to her surprise is when her eyes caught the bright green paper attached on it.
“It’s not a dream, isn’t it?”
Couple more slaps on her cheeks and it still stings just like the first time she did. She picked the sticky notes once again, this time up to an inch to her nose. God, his handwriting is beautiful!
Quickly she grabbed the papers splattered on her duvet and carefully following every single line Minho carved on its surface. Half of her conscious, Taeyeon is embarrassed by her own demeanor, who’s giggling only because of stupid sticky notes? Because of simple lines engraved on a paper?
“Krystal!!” she screamed at the top of her lungs but since nothing’s happened she repeated it, this time louder than an ambulance siren, “Jung Soojung!!!”
“What the heck, Lee Taeyeon?!”
Her roommate’s standing at the threshold, breathing unevenly, shoulder length hair still wet from unfinished shower time, Krystal tried to tie her bathrobe before catching a cold.
“We have a problem. A big problem.”
“What? Did you hurt yourself? Where? How?”
Taeyeon shakes her head with all her might. She squinted to the paper at her hand and locked her gaze to Krystal.
“I may or may not, have a crush on my cold-as-bitch boss.”
***
GameKyu [GK] : I didn’t see the intern today at lunch
GK   : Someone needs to explain this
Suho : The Almighty is shaken? By a little girl?
Max  : Dude, you just blew up some hidden code
Suho : Sooorrrryyyy
Suho : He knew already btw, that we called him name behind his back
GK   : Yeah, I still remember his restless face when he confronted me
GK   : kkkkkkkkkk
Max  : Then we need to find another name then
Max  : The Almighty is too good for him anw :P
Suho : Back to my question. How on earth he’s knocked down by a little girl?
Minho: You guys know that I’m in this group as well, right?
Max  : That’s why I said what I said..~~ #dancing
Max  : But since you’re here already, Mr. Almighty, where did you get her profile information?
Suho : I’m outta here
Max  : Spill it or I will voluntary pick u up tomorrow morning
Max  : Tormenting you during the trip to the office sounds like a nice breakfast
Suho : The hell, dude
Suho : U r freaking psychopath
GK   : No one is torturing anyone
GK   : But I don’t mind if it gets me a nice story, btw
Minho: All of u sound like group of very nosy women in my apartment building
Minho: Aren’t u tired gossiping around?
Minho: U r not fifteen anymore, for God’s sake
Max  : He wrote a lot! :O
Max  : Kim Joonmyeon you better says something or tomorrow morning can be now
Suho : DUDE!! Minho just sent me a private message
Suho : HELP
Suho : SOS
GK   : No pict = hoax
GK   : Screenshot
Minho: Kim Joonmyeon
GK   : He’s ur boss only in the office
Suho : Yeah, a dead ass boss
Suho : I’ll tell you when I’m resigning
GK   : You are so not fun
Max  : So I can still put dibs on her or not?
Minho: Your girlfriend is waiting in Japan, you idiot
GK   : Now you know
Suho : Now you know
Max  : Now I know
Minho: What do you know?
Ten minutes later
Minho: Someone answer me. What do u know?
And another ten minutes passed with Minho having staring contest with a still screen. Everyone is purposely ignoring him for some obvious reason. He dragged his hand to massage his suddenly stiff neck.
This is not happening. How on earth Suho had to catch me looking at her direction for too long? And why should I have flustered when I realized he was watching? Don’t blame me if she looks so enchanting while laughing on a casual chat with Bora and Sunny!
He peeked once again to his phone, hoping some notifications popped up on it. Little did he know, Kyuhyun’s already back in his game and Changmin’s having a video call with his across the ocean girlfriend. Suho’s actually thinking to type something, but he took too much time to contemplate, Minho gave up already.
He grabbed his hair so tight, getting more frustrated and threw his phone to the bed before heading to the shower.
***
So, I hope the setting of tumblr doesn’t wrecked how it is looked in my AFF because I just don’t have time right now to fix the mess here. I will try on this weekend. After I’m done cleaning my shoes tho. Anyway. Enjoy, lovelies! XOXO
Theo’s P.O.V
“Goodmoring Mr.Raeken.” voices said here and there I gave them a nod an a small smile “Morning loser.” A voice said as I entered my office (Y/N) (Y/L/N) my best friend since fourth grade, she’s my assistant and lives with me. She sat on my chair her feet up on my desk “Another one night stand I presume.” Well she wasn’t wrong I walked over to push her feet off my desk she scoffed lightly getting up to grab a bag that was sitting on the couch “You’re lucky to have me.” (Y/N) went to shut the door, plopped herself onto his couch they didn’t mind changing in front of each other especially since they both walk around in their undergarments it would be a lie if a thought hasn’t cross their mind about taking one and other kissing them passionately on any surface of Theo’s huge house “Do you need help?” (Y/N) questioned pulling Theo out of his dirty thoughts “Uh..yeah.” She began to button up his dress shirt “What’s on your mind?” Theo opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it thinking of an excuse “Just thinking about what we’ll have for dinner.” what? Dinner seriously the best excuse he got? (Y/N) laughed lightly turning around on her heels to open the door “Do you want coffee?” I nodded “Oh (Y/N) you look lovely today.” Which was not a lie her outfit hugged her curves I could just take her right here on my desk and… wait what? Okay I need to just calm myself.
Later that night…
Reader’s P.O.V
“I need a wife.” Theo groaned spinning around his office chair I sat on one of his couches “And you’re telling me this because?” Theo and I have been best friends since fourth grade he moved away before fifth grade year, but returned during senior year of high school. When I needed a job he hired me to be his assistant and offered me to move in with him “Because you’re my best friend and I’m the most eligible youngest millionaire bachelor.” He stood up to sit on his desk undoing some button’s on his dress shirt “I’m also quite handsome.” He took his blazer off and flexed his arm “I’m also quite strong and rip too.” he sent a wink towards your direction. I have to admit he was quite handsome he grew up quite nicely. “Come on let’s go get dinner.” he offered grabbing his phone and wallet. Theo offered me his blazer that I gladly took, it was quite chilly out in New York. It was currently 8:00 Theo and I we headed to Shake Shack because I was craving burgers “So who was it this time?” I questioned my eyes fixed outside I glanced at Theo who was smirking at me “This girl name Tracy.. Are you jealous that I didn’t come home to spend time with you.”  As if why would I be jealous? Well okay maybe just maybe I was jealous because this was the fourth time this week.
“I’m not jealous just concerned.” Did I just say concerned? I mentally facepalmed concerned seriously? Theo gave out a dry laugh “Now why would you be concerned babe?” His pet names for me didn’t bother me at all, I actually enjoy him calling me ‘babe’ ‘baby’ ‘babygirl’ ‘kitten’ and my personal favorite ‘princess’. (Y/N) threw a glare him “Because… what if you’re not careful and I hate being alone in a huge house.” she mumbled Theo grabbed her left hand bringing it up to his lips kissing the back of it “Don’t worry baby we’ll spend time together.” We’ve always been handsy with each other that people presume we’re a couple.
Theo wrapped his arms around your waist resting his head on your shoulder “Hi welcome to shake shack what can I get you today?” the worker asked “Hi, can I get two shack burger’s, an order of bacon fries and a vanilla milkshake with whipped cream.” Theo groaned “I want a shake.” He complained like a child “Make that two vanilla milkshakes with whipped cream.” “Okay your total is $30.61″ I pulled out my wallet but Theo beat me to it “To make up for last night.” He whispered the worker gave us order number.
Once we got our food we went to find a booth, I quickly sat down bitting into the juicy burger moaning at the taste Theo watched as I dung into the burger as if it was my last meal “What?” I asked with a mouthful “I think I can get you to moan that way but not with food with maybe my fingers.” I nearly choked on the burger grabbing my milkshake to wash down the burger. I reached for some fries throwing it at Theo who quickly dodged it “That will never ever happen Raeken.”  We joke around that way, well dirty jokes lots and lots of dirty jokes.
“One day (Y/L/N) I’ll have you screaming my name one day.”
Theo and I were currently headed home his phone began to rang “Could you answer it for me?” I grabbed his phone from his lap slightly brushing my hand against his sex ‘Mom’ read across the screen “Hi Mrs.Raeken.” I answered cheerfully “Oh (Y/N)! How are you dear?” Mrs.Raeken and I have always been close she treated me as if I was her own daughter. “Are Theo busy? We’re currently at the airport will you and Theo pick us up?” I glanced at Theo “Yeah of course.” I answered “Okay I’ll see you both in a few!” She hung up the call “Theo, you’re parents are at the airport we have to pick them up.”
“Hello darlings!” Mrs.Raeken said with open arms awaiting a hug Theo walked up to his mom who declined his hug and went up to (Y/N) instead “Hey dad.” Theo announced pulling his dad into a bro hug “So are you two married yet?” Mrs.Raeken asked causing (Y/N) to blush lightly “No.” She quickly turned around to look at Theo slapping the back of his head “Why aren’t you married yet?” Theo began to rub the back of his head. Mrs.Raeken has always wanted Theo and I to get married, she made it her dying wish.
“You two are seriously not married yet?” Alexa asked for the fourth time I glanced at Theo and chuckled “No, we’re not.” I answered sweetly “Theodore Raeken! You must marry (Y/N) I’m sure you two will make some beautiful grandbabies for me.” Theo’s face became a crimson red blushing at his mother’s comment. “Alexa please, that’s enough.” Jonathan said trying to calm his wife down.
Once they arrived home Theo helped his parents settle into the guest room, i walked into Theo’s room placing his blazer on his bed “Well, you could’ve handed it to me personally.” Theo’s voice echoed through the room scaring (Y/N) “Oh god Theo! You scared me half to death!” holding onto her chest “Sorry baby, didn’t mean to scare you. But I have to go to lunch with my parents tomorrow so just run the office for me?” I nodded “Of course.” Theo nodded smiling down at her “Well, you should probably get some sleep, goodnight babygirl.”
Theo P.O.V
“What do you mean, you won’t have the company under my name till I’m married?” I questioned “Sweetie, a deals a deal. The company is still under your father’s name. Once you’re married you’ll get the company.” My mother retorted “I can’t just marry someone I don’t love just to have the company!” I answered rubbing my temples “Do you love (Y/N)?” My mother’s questioned took me by surprise, do I love her yes but as a friend is there something more? Maybe.. just maybe. “Of course. But as a friend.” I answered.
“Here’s what you’ll do, draw up a contract one year of marriage. As long as you are married to (Y/N) for a year the company is yours, after the one year of marriage it’s up to you. Either get a divorce or stay married.” my father said “You’ll feeling may grow for her, you’ll lover her more than a friend but as a wife, as a lover, a soulmate-” “And make beautiful grandbabies for me!” His mother cut in “Well, let’s go ring shopping.”
Third person P.O.V
“Theo! Could you zip this up for me please?” (Y/N) managed to zip it up half way struggling to zip it up to the top “Thee-o!” she complained turning around to see Theo standing in a tux “Princess you there’s no need to shout.” he made his way towards (Y/N) who slowly turned her back towards him allowing him to zip up her dress looking into her body size mirror to observe her face her eyes closed her head resting on his shoulder “You look ravishing princess.” he whispered in her ear wrapping his arms tightly around her waist holding her in his embrace, it felt as if they were the only people in the world. Till their moment was interrupted by a knock “Hey (Y/N) have you seen- oh! Never mind found him.” they quickly came back to reality he backed away from (Y/N) to look at his mother who was grinning ear to ear.
Theo had been quiet the entire car ride, it’s not like him to be this quite (Y/N) grabbed his hand knowing something was wrong "Are you okay? The last time you were this quiet is was when you told me big news about moving to New York. And also asked me to move with you." Theo had placed his hand on her thigh, she began to run her thumb against the back of his hand.
“Don’t worry princess, I’m fine... just thinking that’s all.”
The view of New York City was breathtaking (Y/N) gazed out sipping onto her champagne Theo watched as her eyes glistened her lips tugged upwards at the sight in front of her. Theo had reserved a entire rooftop of ‘STK downtown & rooftop.” just to ask (Y/N) to marry him... for a year.
“(Y/N).. I need to ask you something.”  Theo grabbed her free hand brushing his thumb against the back “What I’m about to ask you.. I don’t want it to change what we have between us..” (Y/N) opened her mouth till Theo continued to speak “The only way I could inherit the company is to marry someone.. and I don’t want to marry a stranger... I want to marry you.” (Y/N) eyes widened gulping down her champagne as the waiter came by to refill it.
“But (Y/N) we’ll have a contract. Be married for a year then we’ll see from there.. either divorce or if you fall in love with me stay married.” Theo pulled out the velvet box till (Y/N) spoke up “What if you fall in love with me? Plus I want a say in this contract.” Theo groaned “If I fall in love with you.. I’d want to stay married.” (Y/N) smiled “We’ll in the contract I want to first off, NO one night stands, NO checking out other women with or without me even when you meet up with the guys when they come to town, and buy me anything I want!” She said cheerfully “(Y/N) I buy you everything you want already.” She tilted her head nodding “Still, and remember NO one night stands! None! Zilch!” Theo stared at her blankly “What?” (Y/N) took a bite of her salad “Who know’s Mr.Raeken maybe I’ll get you in my bed.” She said with a wink.
Theo got onto one knee “(Y/N) (Y/L/N) my best friend, will you marry me?” He revealed the beautiful shinning diamond ring gasping at the beauty and sparkle “Yes! Yes!” (Y/N) shouted as Theo slipped on the ring onto her ring finger she grabbed him by the collar of his blazer pulling him down into a kiss.
Their first kiss ever.. They both felt it... The spark and electricity.
They slowly pulled away grinning from ear to ear looking down at the beautiful diamond ring on her finger.
i had a really sweet date with a boy where we went to a botanical garden and each sat on our own little wooden lawn chairs when we got tired of walking. we turned on our sides so our faces were only three inches apart. we talked about post-grad stuff, how he was scared about his future and i was confused about mine. and in the middle of his sentence he sort of stopped talking, stared at me, and gave me a kiss (our first one) bc he said he'd been dying to do that since he met me :)
UGH this is so cute, I’m squealing that this happened to you.
(p.s. if you want to reblog this prompt for yourself, it’s here :) and you bet I’ll send you something fun~)
Update: AO3 link here. (I expanded the fic for AO3 :))
“‘Farther than humanity’s ever reached,’” Keith says. He looks up at the night sky above them, his back against the cool metal of the Garrison rooftops. He turns to face Shiro who’s leaning back on his elbows beside him and sighs. “It’s hard to fully grasp from this distance.”
“It’s pretty crazy,” Shiro agrees, his head tilted upwards. “It still feels so unreal that I’m going.”
“Yeah.”
Keith turns back to look at the stars. Unreal is the right word. It’s hard to believe that in less than ten hours, Shiro would be boarding a spacecraft that would launch him out there. Another star to join the mass.
“Kinda bummed I’ll have to miss all the growing you’ll get to do in your second year though,” Shiro says, looking over at Keith with a fond smile. “You’ve already come so far just in the last few months. Imagine how much more will happen while I’m gone.”
Gone. The word echoes back to Keith, sending shivers down his spine. It’s a feeling he can’t shake — a frost creeping up the back of his neck, a chill spreading inside his chest. After months of grappling with the idea that Shiro will indeed be gone for a whole year, Keith thought he had already accepted it. But now a sense of cold dread threatens to overtake him.
Best not to mention it.
“Most of it was thanks to you,” Keith replies, keeping his voice level despite the icy grip that had seized up at the pit of his stomach. “It won’t really be the same without you around.”
Shiro’s eyes soften as he tilts his head down to look at Keith. Shifting his elbows out, he lowers himself onto his back until he’s lying down beside him.
“You’re going to do great,” Shiro reassures. Keith tries to return his smile but his lips don’t seem to want to work that way.
“Yeah, I guess,” Keith shrugs.
With a heavy sigh, Shiro turns his head back to face the stars, bringing his arm up over his forehead.
“You alright?” Keith asks, his eyes shifting over onto the older man.
“Yeah, it’s just—” Shiro’s eyes droop and his brows furrow. Keith knows he already feels the same. “I know we’re more prepared than we ever could’ve been and I know there’s no rational reason for me to feel this way but… I just can’t shake this terrible feeling that something bad, something really bad, is going to happen.”
Keith’s lungs threaten to close up inside him. They aren’t alone in this foreboding and the significance of it creeps into his chest. As he turns onto his side to face the older man, the desire to vocalize and share in Shiro’s pain wells up in him.
He doesn’t want to let Shiro go.
“Shiro,” he breathes. Shiro doesn’t move. His eyes are distant and far-off as he gazes into nothingness. There’s a sad, forlorn look about them that causes Keith’s next words to shrivel up and die. Whatever he had meant to say, it didn’t matter anymore.
“You’re gonna make it,” Keith forges on in spite of himself. If Shiro or the universe needed more convincing, Keith would gladly ignore his own dread and lie with confidence until it came true. “You’re gonna make it and you’ll be back before you know it. You’ll see.”
Shiro glances over at him before turning onto his side to face Keith, their noses three inches apart.
And just like that, Keith feels his lungs seize up for an entirely different reason as Shiro gazes at him, his eyes full of something Keith’s afraid to name. The thin, winter air grows heavy between them, full of warmth and impending… impending…
Impending doom, Keith mind thinks at once as that same dread fills his stomach once again.
The moment he blinks, the spell is over. With a sigh, Shiro turns back away from him and closes his eyes.
“I hope you’re right, Keith,” he says. He keeps his eyes shut tight, giving Keith the impression that he no longer wants to stare at the expansive sky tonight. “I hope you’re right.”
Me too, Keith thinks. Me too.
——
There were never enough ticks to make up for lost time. Every dobosh and every varga was spent trying to fight the alien war they had all somehow found themselves in. There wasn’t a single tick to spare for Shiro to fully appreciate how far Keith had come since his absence, or even to check up on him after the trials of Marmora.
There was never enough energy either but Shiro figured the opportunity was bound to come up. After all, spending all their waking days and nights together on one ship — time would show itself eventually, wouldn’t it?
What could go wrong?
——
“He’s gone.”
Gone. Lance’s words echo back to him in Shiro’s voice. Imagine how much more will happen while I’m gone. While I’m gone. Gone.
Keith’s hands grip the backseat of the Black Lion, his knees shaking. This can’t be happening.
Before he knows what he’s doing, he’s back under the bright lights of the hangar, the rest of the team yelling out his name. Keith doesn’t listen. He can barely hear any of it. The sound of Shiro’s last cry as he punched in his black bayard is echoing too loudly in his ears.
He vaguely registers Allura shouting, “Keith, come back!” before Red shuts all outside noises out of her cockpit.
He doesn’t accept this. He refuses to. There is no damn way he found Shiro only for this to happen again.
His eyes scan the debris flying by his screen. A floating bundle of metal scraps and torn pieces of armor — but no human body.
His heart pounds loudly in his ears with rage as he continues to fly around the aftermath of their battle. Keith doesn’t understand any of this. Shiro has to be here. He had to be. He was just right there in his lion, his voice in Keith’s ears, just mere seconds before they plunged the sword into Zarkon.
“K-Keith? Are you there?”
Allura’s voice finds its way through the static inside his helmet. In a flash of red, hot anger, Keith pulls it off his head and tosses it onto the floor where it faintly calls his name out again.
He’ll stay here for the rest of the week if he has to. Keith is known for a lot of things — ace pilot, dropout, hothead —
But he is never known for giving up.
——
At this point, Keith’s seen too much to know what’s real. Between alternate realities, clones, and alien magic, Keith has no idea how to measure these things anymore.
So when the man before him reaches out to take his hand, Keith is almost afraid to hope. Beaten and battered, the both of them are crouched low on the ground, barely able to support themselves.
“Shiro?” he asks. His hands trace the hard line of Shiro’s jaw as Keith fights to keep his bruised eye open.
“Keith.”
Shiro’s human hand finds Keith’s cheek and by nature, he leans into the touch. It’s warm and familiar, but he’s still unsure.
Shiro pulls him in for a deep embrace and it’s then that Keith feels the Black Lion purr its approval in his mind. He wraps an arm around Shiro and dares to believe.
——
Keith knows nothing will ever be the same again.
He doesn’t care.
“I really thought you were gone for good,” Keith tells him. He wants to feel happy — and he is. It’s just difficult to feel pure joy when so much has changed, when so many things have been damaged beyond repair.
“What can I say?” Shiro says with a light attempt at a chuckle. “I’m a survivor.”
And it’s just like Shiro to downplay his torment. Survivor. It’s too light of a word for what he’d really gone through. “Survivor” glosses over all the shattering, the suffering, and the breaking down Shiro had to endure in order to become one. A survivor.
“You did more than just that,” Keith contests.
They’re sitting on one of the outcropping of ledges on the Castle of Lions watching the planet’s perpetual sunset. They’ve been here for two days now and its sun has stayed burning at the same low spot over the horizon.
“I’m sorry I was absent for so long,” Shiro says with a slight frown.
“It isn’t your fault,” Keith replies, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Not even close.”
“I know,” Shiro says, reaching up to cover Keith’s hand with his own. “I still feel sorry though.”
Keith smiles and squeezes his hand back.
“Keith,” Shiro says, and his voice is low and serious as he pulls Keith closer.
And just like that, despite everything they’ve gone through and the wars they’ve fought, they’re back at the Garrison, sitting on the roof beneath the night sky and wondering what’s out there — out here — with their noses three inches apart. Keith’s breath catches as he gazes into Shiro’s eyes; they’re wide and filled with fondness and intent. It almost makes him want to look away from the intensity of it.
“Yeah?” Keith breathes. “What is it?”
Shiro licks his lips but doesn’t speak. Instead, he brings his human hand up to cradle the back of Keith’s head and slowly leans in. With a small smile, Keith lets his eyes fall shut and tilts his head up, closing the remaining distance between them.
The soft glow of the sun burns bright behind his eyelids.
They pull away from the kiss the same way they came together: slowly.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for…” Shiro blinks and tries to think back. “I can’t even remember how long it’s been now.”
Keith chuckles.
“It’s good to have you back,” he says, his grin wide. Shiro smiles and wraps his arms around Keith, burying his nose in his messy, black hair.
“It’s good to be back.”
The Saiyan and the Avenger, Chapter 2: The Hero of the Hidden Leaf
FWEET!
                Goku lowered his hand from his forehead. Taking in a deep breath, he looked around. Before him lay a crowded street of the Hidden Leaf Village. Merchants sold goods as before. Citizens walked and swept and carried supplies in every direction, occasionally casting a fearful glance into the distance. Above, a housewife beat a rug into cleanliness with a single kick. Below, an old man on a bench reached over and petted a sleeping nineko curled up next to a ninja hound, calmly eating a rice ball as he watched a pair of friends playfully arguing at the counter in a restaurant across the street. From the next street over came a loud “I TOLD YOU I’M NOT FAT!!”, followed by a loud crash.
                As Goku took in the scene, two children chasing a puppy ran out of an alley and turned toward him. The girl in the lead reached out to grab the puppy’s tale, but tripped on a rock and plunged toward the dirt.
                “Whoa, there!” Goku dashed forward, effortlessly catching the child and returning her to her feet. “That could have been nasty.
                The girl’s eyes widened. A brilliant smile spread across her face. “GOKU!”
                Up and down the street, heads turned and faces broke into excited grins as everyone recognized the Hero of the Hidden Leaf.
                “Hey, Goku’s back!”
                “Goku! Where have you been?”
                “Good to see you, Goku!”
                “Come have dinner with us! My husband is a great cook!”
                “Goku, will you marry me now?”
                “Hi, everybody!” Goku laughed. “It’s great to be back!” Waving and greeting everyone around him, Goku, slowly made his way down the street toward his destination.
                Word spread like wildfire throughout the village. “Hey, guys! Goku’s back!” A citizen yelled into the Nara household. “Finally, something that isn’t a drag,” Shikamaru said, standing up from his desk full of war maps.
                Elsewhere, a runner dashed out of the Hyuuga stronghold with several Hyuuga in tow. “Goku’s here! Spread the word!” She called to another woman sprinting across the rooftops.
                “Got it!” The woman broke off and ran in another direction.
                Beneath the hospital, another messenger burst into Sakura and Ino’s makeshift lab. “Goku just came back!”
                Ino dropped her clipboard. “He is?? How does my hair look?” She turned to her reflection in a lab table and started frantically running her fingers through her hair.
                “Don’t waste your time,” Sakura said, switching off her equipment. “Goku doesn’t notice that stuff, and even if he did, he’s probably taken already.”
                “Shut up, Billboard-Brow!” Ino shouted, running off before Sakura could reply.
                Gradually, Goku made his way through the smiling crowd to Ichiraku’s. As he ducked under the entryway, a woman at the full counter gladly offered her stool to him. “Thanks!” Goku said, taking a seat.
                Teuchi appeared from the back. “Good to see you again, Goku!”
                “Good to be back, Teuchi!” Goku said. “Hope you’ve got plenty of ramen, ‘cause I just finished training, and I’m REALLY hungry!” Three large diamonds clattered onto the counter and the words left him.
                Teuchi’s smile widened. “I was hoping you’d say that. Give me a minute.” He disappeared into the back again, only to return a moment later. In his arms rested a gigantic ramen bowl, measuring a full meter across and piled so high it looked like it would fall over at any second. “What do you think? I call it my brand-new Saiyan-sized Ramen Bowl!”
                Goku’s face lit up. “AWESOME!!” The bowl hit the counter. Goku’s chopsticks hit the bowl. “That was great! Another one, please!”
                The crowd watched in silence. “That one lasted 3 whole seconds!” Somebody said.
                One by one, the gigantic bowls piled up at Goku’s elbow as the crowd stared wide-eyed at the spectacle. Ino elbowed her way through to the front, adjusting her hair as she waited for Goku to turn in her direction. As she did, a splotch of sauce flew out of somewhere and landed on her head. “Guess he noticed after all,” Sakura grinned as Ino fumed.
                From seemingly nowhere, a friendly hand smacked Goku on the back. “Goku, it’s good to see that big, ridiculous hair again!”
                Goku set down another empty bowl. “Hey, Gai! How’s the training going?”
                “It’s going great! How about when you’re done here, we head out and experience the fires of youth in rigorous punching and kicking once more?”
                “That sounds-”
                “Alright, that’s enough everyone!” A stern voice at the back of the crowd cut him off. “You can talk to Goku later!”
                “Looks like Lady Hokage wants a word with you,” Gai said. “Well, don’t you worry, Goku! You can show me your new stuff later!” He turned to go.
                “Hey, hold on a sec!” Goku reached into his pocket and produced a small cloth bag. “I got those senzu beans I promised you. Sorry again about them not being able to grow here.
                “Thanks a million, Goku!” Gai said, accepting the bag. “I’ll put these to good use, just you wait and see!” Before he could elaborate, Tsunade appeared through the crowd.
                “Back to business, everyone!” she said to the crowd. “Goku will still be around for awhile! Go back to what you were doing!”
                One by one, the crowd dispersed, many promising to talk to Goku when he was done. At last, they were gone, and Tsunade took a stool next to Goku.
                “Well, hi Tsunade!” Goku said cheerfully, slurping a noodle. “What have you been up to?”
                Tsnuade didn’t return Goku’s smile as she rested her hands on the counter. “I’ve been busy, Goku. Remember that war I told you about last time? It happened.”
                “Really? You’re lucky. I don’t think I’ve ever fought in a war. I mean, there was this one time I beat up a whole army, but that was when I was a kid.”
                Tsunade blinked. “My point is…” She lowered her voice. “I need your help.”
                “Huh?”
                Tsunade slipped him the picture from the file. “Does he look familiar to you?”
                Goku studied the picture. “Not really. Who is he?”
                “His name is Sasuke Uchiha. He’s a former Leaf shinobi, but now he fights for the enemy. A few years ago he betrayed his friends and ran off the train under one of the most vile ninja the Leaf ever produced. Now, he’s running wild across the nations, murdering, destroying, all in the name of avenging some perceived wrong by slaughtering the Hidden Leaf and all her allies.
                Goku swallowed. “That’s awful!”
                “It gets worse. As an Uchiha, Sasuke has a set of powerful eyes that give him access to jutsu the rest of us can’t even attempt. Every time we try to take him down, he uses these jutsu to kill our forces before they can even get close to him. And with each battle, his power grows immeasurably.”
                “WHERE IS HE??” A harsh voice demanded. “GOKU!” Neji burst into Ichiraku’s.
                “Oh hey, you’re that blind guy from before, right?” Goku asked.
                “I TOLD YOU, I’M NOT BLIND, YOU SPIKY-HAIRED SIMPLETON!!” Neji shouted. “Look, never mind that. Whatever you do, you must stop Sasuke, no matter what it takes. The bastard can’t live after what he’s done.”
                “What did he do?” Goku asked, but Neji had already ducked out.
                “I hope you’ll forgive Neji,” Tsunade apologized. “He has a good reason to be angrier than usual about Sasuke, and I can’t blame him.”
                “Big Brother Goku!” Konohamaru ran into Ichiraku’s, wiping his nose on his sleeve.
                “Oh, hi Konohamaru!” Goku said. “Did you grow since the last time I saw you?”
                Konohamaru’s red, distraught eyes gazed up into Goku’s, welling. “You have to help Big Brother Naruto! He needs you!”
                “He does?” Goku asked, concern spreading across his face.
                “I’m afraid so,” Tsunade confirmed, her shoulders slumping as her eyes drifted downward. “Naruto hasn’t been himself for some time, and no one in the village can seem to help him. Every day, he seems to slip further and further into the darkness, and I don’t like to think about what will happen if he can’t be cheered up, and soon.
                “He’s really that sad?” Goku asked in disbelief. “What happened?
                Tsunade cast a glance toward the flashes in the distance. “It’s… it’s probably best if you hear it from him.”
