I'm curious about the dreams Idia was having about the reader.
(reference to this)
nsfw under read-more, minors DNI!
It's quite silly, really. Idia was never one to yearn for the touch, closeness, the affections of a person. He was fine, being alone. It was better this way. He could cope with his games and shows, online groups and friends filling the void. Besides, why would he want to drag another person into the Shroud curse? It already took one person from him, Idia couldn't stand doing it to another as long as it was up to him. Plus, he wasn't exactly prime boyfriend, let alone husband material (perhaps he did that intentionally).
So, Idia wasn't all too worried when he first started becoming friends with you. You were kinda weird, but a friend to introverts like him! Somehow always a wallflower, but always involved in the chaos of overblots and school. But, you were conscientious of his need for space and privacy; Ortho must have said something to you about his eating habits, cause you started bringing food other than chips, soda, and ramen cups for him to eat, like actual meals. You also liked to entertain Ortho, who liked when you drew silly designs on his plating, which is always a plus in Idia's book. You were sweet, like his favorite ramune soda. Despite having abysmal skills in gaming (which he was all too happy to make fun of you for) he liked having you as his support, watching him on the sidelines and being a cute cheerleader. In exchange, Idia lent you an old gaming computer and bullied tutored you in a few of his favorite games so you could be his squishy healer in raids.
But, he was a bit worried when he started feeling something more than platonic things for you. Then, he was exceptionally concerned when, at the first day of spring, Idia started coughing hydrangeas, which he managed to secretly keep under wraps from Ortho for a few weeks. No, he was downright mortified when, during those few weeks, night after night, he started having dreams of you.
They started off innocent at first: you on his lap, head on his shoulder, as he played the latest RPG. You murmured words of encouragement, sleepily nuzzling your head into his. Another, he was in the board game club, where you cheered him on as he won a match against Azul in some luck-based game. Idia remembers giving Azul a smug smirk as you threw your arms around him and pressed kisses into his cheek. He even faintly remembers one where you simply sat with him in class, fingers lacing through his in comfort as he dealt with the anxiety of being out and about.
It wasn't until he was a week in when the dreams, infested with hydrangea bouquets always at the corner of his eye, that he knew he was utterly screwed beyond belief.
It started off sweet, at first. This time, you were with him at Styx, though you looked a few years older and were wearing a similar uniform to his mother. He was wearing the uniform as well, though it more closely resembled his father's. He was now Styx head, and you, his precious little wife. The domestic stuff was fine, it made his heart rate spike up so much that Ortho questioned if he had a nightmare while sleeping, but it was fine he could deal. You did look cute… as you smiled up at him… leaned up to kiss his cheek… and whisper in his ear…
“Idiaaa~ What if I crawled under your desk and sucked you off? Do you think you could stay quiet? You can, can't you? For me~”
It was fuzzy, when he tried to remember it, but Idia remembers the heat pooling in his belly. Your hands trailing down his chest down to his hips. Your lips following after and pressing soft, slow kisses down and down until—
Idia's flames grew into a burning, hot pink as his face is in his hands the following morning. He'd actually gone to bed at a reasonable time (to him anyway, 3 am was reasonable), and woke up with that in his head? How was he supposed to function? How was he supposed to look at you, talk with you, when the last memory he had was a dream of you sucking him off???
It progressively got worse from there. It was a weird mix of erotically domestic scenarios. You, waking up to him in bed before work, riding him as you cooed sweet words. Another of the two of you heavy petting, his hands groping your ass as you curled your body into his, making out in his office before Idia had to run off to a meeting, leaving you pouting and telling him to, “Hurry back to your needy little wifey~” One of you cooking him breakfast in one of his shirts, before he bent you over the kitchen counter, after which you sat on his lap and hand fed him.
The last one that really freaked him out, which led to him further isolating himself until Ortho dragged him out to the nurse, was one where he woke up to you next to him in bed. You smiled the sweetest smile to him, whispering to Idia how much you loved him, moving over to press a trail of kisses from his lips, to his neck, down his chest and abdomen. Idia was anticipating the same follow-up from his first dream, especially as your hands reached to pull his briefs down before a soft whine, followed by a cry, interrupted you.
He had no clue what to think, as you make a surprised noise, smiling at him, as the following words left your mouth: “The baby's awake, guess we'll have to continue this later, huh?” Dream Idia giggled along with you as the two of you shared a kiss, watching as you rolled off the bed to the bassinet that he was just noticing. He watched as you cooed and murmured soft words to the small, blue-flamed haired baby, reaching their tiny hands for you. But it was the next sentence that bolted him from sleep into a dry sweat:
“Say good morning! Say, 'good morning' to your baba, my darling~”
Idia let out a screech as he flailed out of bed, tangled in his sheets. He was coughing up a storm of hydrangeas when Ortho flew in, panicked and already full of concern for Idia's health. It was then Ortho started insisting that Idia visit the infirmary, much to his chargin.
At least you'd never see him like this… right?

"You're staying here."
A/N: Spoilers for Prologue, Books 1-6, and certain events. Sorry! I've had this story in my drafts for so many months. I hope ya'll enjoy it and please let me know what you think.
EDIT: I accidentally posted this while in the middle of editing and decided to still work on it while it was posted XD
". . . What? Hang on--"
"Calm down, we just need you to be our in-between in case the beast gets to us. Having you up here means you can get to the Headmaster faster--"
"Wait, stop. Stop." Yuu squinted at Leona, incredulous. "You could have one of your dormmates do that. Your dorm is based on athletics, I'm pretty sure whoever he is could get to the Headmaster faster than me. Not to mention, I'm a Beast Tamer, I should be going with you guys!"
"You're also magicless." Leona was mercilessly blunt with that fact. The words reminded Yuu of all the jabs of random bullies throughout the schoolyear, and they gritted their teeth. Before they could argue back, Leona said, "I'm not saying that that makes you useless, but let's face it: you're not going to survive that oversized house cat unless you can put up a barrier or counter a spell."
"I probably wasn't meant to survive a lot of things since coming here, but look what happened--" Yuu spread their arms out--"I'm alive anyways."
"It's probably because you had one of us or Grim with you," Ace said. "Dealing with the ghosts at Ramshackle the first night and every other thing after that, Grim. Fighting the Phantom in the mines, the three of us. All of the Overblots, a group of us." He was counting off each instance with his fingers, clearly not sorry for making a case against Yuu. "I know you're not thrilled about being left out of something as big as this, but without Grim, you're not going to be able to do much, let alone protect yourself. We can't keep an eye on you either, so it's basically better if you stay here."
He didn't shrink away from the look of betrayal and anger on Yuu's face and stood still when they marched up to him. "Okay, first of all, when have I ever asked any of you to keep an eye on me? Yeah, never. And second in case you forgot, I've handled myself pretty damn well when it came to random magic crap. I literally can't count how many times I almost got burnt by fireballs, impaled by ice, and struck by lightning by people that can't aim, and there are a lot of them at this school. Yeah, Vargas's 'catch-up' lessons helped with my speed, but my point still stands."
They held up a hand, stopping Ace from rebutting. "And if you're going to bring up Grim probably throwing out spells with weird side effects, don't. I've suffered enough curses getting thrown at me and potions being snuck into my food to get used to weird effects."
"Wait, people have been doing those things?!" Kalim's eyes were wide in disbelief and shock. "Why?"
Yuu half-heartedly tossed their arms, palms turning upward, as a form of a shrug. "Probably because they're assholes and I'm an easy guinea pig. If we're being a little pessimistic, it's probably also because no one would miss me. Magicless nobody from another world and all that."
"That's a horrible thing to think about!" Kalim cried. The Ramshackle Prefect was a helpful person and tried avoiding trouble the best they could. Not to mention, they weren't in line for something major like a merchant business or a throne. How could anyone want to trouble Yuu? (And how could Yuu think no one would miss them?)
"No surprise they'd think that," Idia mumbled.
"Hate to break it to you, but even if you got potioned and cursed a lot, there's still going to be something you won't be able to handle," Ruggie said. "I get what you mean, though. I got cursed and potioned a bunch of times before I started working for Leona and still a little after. At some point, you're more annoyed than bothered by whatever happens to you."
There were times he saw his freshman self in Yuu. Struggling to understand the lessons, having to bear with a handful of cruel upperclassmen or fellow classmates, left to carry out a difficult task on their own... he sometimes may or may not have been at the right place at the right time to offer help--in exchange for a favor, of course.
"That still doesn't mean you should throw yourself into a fight without knowing what could happen to you," he added, almost scolding.
"I know, but I still helped with the Overblots, didn't I? I think that's enough proof that I can handle being in dangerous fights," Yuu said, crossing their arms. Their sleeve got pushed up and a healing scar on the back of their wrist was revealed, which caught multiple eyes.
Savanaclaw and the Leech Twins remembered the cry of fear and pain when the Octopus Phantom's tentacle snatched their arm, right after they had stepped out of the way of a funnel of water. Octavinelle and Kalim remembered Yuu being sent flying after the Genie Phantom shot a spell that created a force upon impact. They would have hit the wall like a rag doll if Azul didn't catch them with wind magic. The VDC group members remembered them on the ground, twitching sporadically as one of the Hag Phantom's regular sized apples innocently rolled away like it didn't poison them through touch. (Deuce panicked so hard he summoned a cauldron to crush it even though just stepping on the apple was all that was needed.) And who could forget Yuu yanking their arm out of a nest of thorny branches that had been summoned by the Dragon Phantom? They had scars from thorns that got particularly stuck.
After realizing they were staring, Yuu followed the gazes and put their hands in their pockets as casually as they could.
"If you're worried about us thinking less of you, I assure you we wouldn't," Azul said. "There's nothing about the offer that you should be worried about. Again, it's not because your magiclessness makes you less valuable. It's simply letting you avoid another troublesome fight."
He didn't turn on the charm; no smiles or overly fawning words. He was dead serious and it made Yuu uneasy. Why did he want them to take the offer? Although--and this uneased them much more--it was starting to feel like most of the boys were conspiring to keep them out of the fight.
"After everything you've gone through, you pretty much deserve this. Don't worry about Grim, either." Deuce pounded his chest. "We'll be sure to bring him back in one piece."
"I. . . appreciate. . ." Yuu gestured vaguely while also feeling that 'appreciate' was a strange thing to say. They didn't appreciate being pushed out of something important without being heard, and they weren't sure how to feel about the unexpected concern for their wellbeing, especially at a time like this. "I appreciate you guys wanting to give me a break, but I really am serious about coming with to save Grim."
They saw shoulders slumping and heard frustrated huffs. "Listen!" they yelled, starting to feel frustrated themself. "I almost lost Grim once! I need to be there to make sure I don't lose him again. I know you guys can do what I can't, I've seen you all fight before, and I know you all will be able to handle what's coming, but I can't stand being on the side again! So, like it or not, I'm coming with. And why do any of you care about me getting a few scratches or hits from magic, anyway? It's not like it hasn't happened before."
No one responded.
". . . Guys?"
Finally, Leona clicked his tongue. "So annoying. I told you all it would've been pointless to do this."
"What's going on?" Yuu scanned the faces around them, noticing how uneasy Jack and Riddle looked, how Ace and Deuce seemed to have something to say, how irritated or hesitant everyone else appeared. Malleus approached them and they immediately noticed his brows furrowed in concern. "Tsunotaro. . . ?"
"Two night ago, we all shared a prophetic vision, likely similar to what you have been experiencing as of late. All of us were gathered together battling the chimera form of Grim in the same area as the current one. He casted spells that were beyond his usual abilities, including one that made it hard to breathe. Somehow, in the blink of a moment, you ended up alone with him trying to get him to come to his senses."
Yuu held their breath as Malleus said, "But then he opened his mouth and lunged towards you, and the vision ended. Forgive us for not telling you sooner. It is difficult speaking of someone's prophesied death and we did not want you to lose your confidence."
Multiple eyes carefully watched Yuu process everything he said. Some wondered how this would affect their character (Malleus admired them for their courage, considering their circumstances, and Ace liked them for their gutsy and surprising moments; hopefully nothing would change).
Others hoped that Yuu would relent and let the group fight Grim without them (Rook was regretful of leaving Yuu behind, but someone as special as them needed to be kept safe; Riddle simply didn't want to lose a dear friend).
And others prepared to rebut Yuu if they were still stubborn about going (Leona was mentally groaning and Vil shared his sentiment; aside from the Freshman Squad's reputation for having hard-heads, the two understood how much Grim meant to Yuu).
The Ramshackle Prefect started to observe them in turn with an unreadable expression.
Then they scowled. "You all realize how fucked up it is to keep that a secret, right? I mean, shouldn't I be told I might be walking to my death? Or is it--I don't know. You all think I can't make my own decisions?"
"That's the thing, Yuu. You care a lot about the people around you, and when it comes to Grim, you'd do anything to keep him safe. Even if we told you about the vision, I'm willing to bet you'd try to convince us to let you come anyway," Ace said. "You're right, it was fucked up to keep the vision from you, but we can't let you be so careless about yourself, especially since it's basically confirmed you might die."
"That cat has no idea how lucky he is to have a patient and caring person like yourself," Sebek said. "It wouldn't do for him to learn it through severely injuring you."
"And actually, none of us would be able to stand it if you got hurt or worse and we had the opportunity to prevent it," Ortho said. "You've done a lot already. Just this once, we want to handle this without troubling you."
Yuu silently stared at their Squad, mouth agape.
"When we found out you had gone with Epel and Hunt to find S.T.Y.X.'s headquarters, we seriously thought wouldn't see you again," Deuce said. "You gave us a heart attack with what happened in Scarabia. What you did then was unbearable."
"I know it's pointless to think about, but I sometimes worry over what would have happened if I didn't get my Unique Magic in time," Epel said. "Seeing that vision of Grim pouncing on you, though. . . it's made it harder to sleep at night."
"Frankly, the headmaster could be more considerate of you," Jack said. "Having to take care of Grim and being a Prefect can't be easy. Not to mention, what was he thinking tasking you with stopping Azul?"
He rubbed the back of his neck, looking to the side. "On top of being a little reckless, it makes it hard to not want to pull you back from any trouble."
"So, whatever you tell us, we're not taking no for an answer," Ace concluded.
The anger they had towards everyone for their audacity to keep the vision a secret was dimmed a little (just a little) by their friends' worry for their well-being. At the same time, the worrying made their heart tremble and throat tighten. They closed their eyes and took a deep breath. "You know, this whole time I was expected to be a stone wall. I forgot what it felt like to be cared about."
"Huh?" multiple voices chorused.
"What do you mean by that?" Deuce asked.
"Well, I was pretty much thrown into a lion's den and expected to survive it. I wasn't given much sympathy either by nearly everyone I met, especially during the first month." (A few of the boys internally cringed, remembering the hurtful words he had said.) "There's also the fact that most of the school consists of pricks who are self-absorbed year-round. It's not very comforting to know that if something happens to me, there's a good chance no one's going to give me a hand, except if it's people I get along with or people who can benefit from my suffering."
"I don't blame you for wanting certain attitudes to change, but you know as well as I do that you'll encounter pricks and predators anyway beyond the school walls," Vil said but not without some sympathy.
"I do," they said bitterly. "Look, I get it. I shouldn't expect the world to hold my hand or offer me everything on a silver platter. But--god damn it, would it have killed anyone or even any of you guys to have some sympathy? To be a little more decent?”
"I was able to bear the atmosphere of NRC for a while, but at some point, it gets so fucking tiring. A student population that can't be a smidge nicer unless they're beaten up or more upfront about their actual intentions." They shook their head, then made a derisive sound. "That's why I'm having a hard time processing this. I'm sorry, but I can't wrap my head around the fact that you guys, who come from Night Raven College, are actually showing that you care."
The corner of their lip twitched upward, forming a broken smile. Concern was visible on everyone's faces.
"Yuu," Ace said, "are you okay?"
". . . No. I haven't been okay since coming here, or maybe I wasn't okay before coming here and it just got worse. I don't really know."
They turned their face to the side, but it was too late: everyone saw a tear slide down their cheek. Except for Grim and the rest of the First Year Squad, no one ever saw the Ramshackle Prefect cry. It strangely made everyone concerned, and some reached out a hand.
"Yuu..."
"Prefect..."
They raised a fist to their face, as though it could stop the tears before they could spill. They took a slow, deep breath to calm themself, but they never let that breath go in fear a sob would escape.
"Yuu." A hand gently touched their shoulder. "It's all right."
They shoved the person away. They couldn't see who it was from the torrent of tears that suddenly spilled and blinded their sight. "It's not!"
"I was starting to believe people when they said I wouldn't be anything! They told me I was useless and dumb and a nobody. They told me I should've stayed a janitor because I couldn't do anything right. They'd try to beat me up for some etiquette I didn't know or for some stupid reason."
Insulting Yuu's parents and them. . .
Riddle noticed Trey setting aside a big cookie during preparations for the Unbirthday Party. It was for Yuu. Earlier that day, someone or some people had stolen their bag and stuffed it with crumpled paper and empty food wrappers. Their notebooks--thankfully still in tact--had been tossed haphazardly around the school and led to the field where the bag was left. Trey found all this out when Ace and Deuce returned to Heartslabyul dorm scowling. The Unbirthday Party went on as usual, and Yuu seemed cheered up by the cookie and receiving the honors of petting a hedgehog. Much, much later, Riddle caught a bully red-handed and dished out the consequences for breaking Rule #53: You must replace anything you steal. Sadly, it didn't deter other bullies from stealing Yuu's bag, but Riddle still punished whoever he could for breaking an important rule and troubling someone so undeserving.
Threatening to take a tooth. . .
Leona overheard a conversation while napping in the botanical garden. In between sleep and waking, he initially thought he was dreaming the times he overheard the servants whispering disapprovingly about him. What made him wake up was hearing plots to get Yuu kicked out. He couldn't be bothered to care what ridiculous crap the herbivores in the other dorms or his juniors in Savanaclaw got caught up in, but this was something different. Joke or not, someone had to step in before either party gets kicked out--and that's what he did, telling the students off for planning something ridiculous and highly risky (and glaring harshly when he recognized some of the students as members of the Magift Club). After the students scrammed, he settled back down to sleep and his mind wandered to Yuu. He felt a little deja vu when he thought how they needed a tutor to keep themself from failing (and Grim too even though that fur ball could pay to be less annoying). It would dig into his rest time, but he had an idea for what Yuu could do to make up for that. Say, help a certain hyena finish his given tasks quicker.
"It feels like I'm only here for people to use or take from. I keep wondering why it always happens. Is there something wrong with me? Was there some invisible sign telling people I was a tool that didn't need repairs? Was I cheap labor because I'm on the bottom of some hierarchy?"
Taking Ramshackle Dorm away. . .
Once, Azul came across a group of students playing 'keep away' with Yuu and their lunch box. For a moment, he was reminded of his child self, trying to get back a seashell from a couple of bullies who were tossing it to each other over his head and taunting his slowness. He snapped out of his memories when Ace, Deuce, and Grim entered the scene, magic ablazed and yelling. It wouldn't be the first time he would see this happen: anytime anyone picked on Yuu while using magic, their friends would come to their aid. (If Azul had to be honest, he envied the Ramshackle Prefect for having people like the First Year Squad look out for them.) But then, some time after his Overblot, he came across a couple of students on brooms waving Yuu's homework from their perch. The sight particularly irked him, but before he could step in, one of the bullies lost his grip and a couple of papers got blown away. The rest of the homework got lost when he and his accomplice tried grabbing the sheets. It all drifted onto the wet grass below or sailed over the trees, and the bullies, suddenly remembering they had something more important to do, left Yuu scrambling to salvage what they could. Azul wouldn't forget the Prefect's face when they asked, defeated, what he wanted in exchange for helping them with the missing papers. He neither wouldn't forget their face when they asked how he had been able to deal with being picked on so much. For once, he didn't feel the urge to strike a deal.
Using them for a plan. . .
When the high of partying in the desert died down, all Jamil could think about was how he would tell his family that he Overblotted and why. It churned his stomach picturing their horrified faces, and it was made worse when he wondered what the Al-Asim family would do if they heard that their heir had been caught in a dangerous situation by none other than the loyal best friend. What would happen to him and his family then? Amidst the inner turmoil, the Ramshackle Prefect and Grim were far from his mind until he and Kalim found them practicing for the VDC tryouts. A proper apology was due, but he didn't have one prepared. It didn't seem to matter to the two, though, as they acted like nothing happened. As though he didn't force them to "solve" another dorm problem right after Grim expressed not wanting to. When Vil Overblotted, he saw Grim rearing to fight while voicing how troublesome it was to deal with yet another Overblot. His eyes slid over to Yuu. . . and it was crystal clear they didn't want to deal with anything anymore. They stared at Vil's cackling, levitating figure with despair, eyes telling of exhaustion and mouth tugging into a grimace, a sign of reluctant acceptance. He tried to protect them when he could from poisonous spells--emphasis on tried, since he still had Kalim to keep safe--and afterwards, offered leftover food whenever Scarabia had parties.
"Was an Overblot all it took for people to see me differently? I can't control how other people act, only how I respond. All I can do is take things easy and forgive, but I don't know if I can keep doing it. It's just. . ."
Their voice trembled. "So hard to keep going when it seems like barely anyone wants to consider you."
Word spread fast around Night Raven College and it wasn't long before Vil recognized that Yuu was in a challenging position: they lived in a literal ramshackle dorm, had to live on a small budget, and were entirely new to this world. He had to hand it to them, they possessed quite the will and backbone. After all they experienced, he counted himself lucky that they warmed up to him rather quickly--which was why he noticed how tensely quiet they became the night after their friends snuck a bite of unknowingly cursed dessert. When asked, they told him bluntly that it was painful seeing food used like that. They were struggling to pay off lunch debts and it was made much worse when already broken windows broke a little more or parts of the roof had to be patched up after a short downpour. Vil could see a little hunger in their eyes as they talked of instances where they had to decide between repairs and eating dinner that night, even the next two nights. He didn't know about their struggles in the first place, but he nonetheless felt terrible about what he did and deeply apologized. For the rest of the VDC training camp, he ignored any footsteps that came from the Prefect's bedroom and headed downstairs, even as they made the floorboard creak loudly.
Idia sometimes thought about how the Prefect looked when they thanked him for listening to their rambles of all the anime they watched back on Earth. The two of them were sitting in Ramshackle Dorm's lounge, waiting for the next level of the game to finish loading, when he glanced over. Serene and distant, like they had recounted a fond memory. He thought back to all the isekai manga, anime, and video games he consumed. Some protagonists seemed pretty eager to be in another world, others were immediately wishing to go back home, but those who expressed homesickness did it in a cool way, like staring at a moon while sitting next to a best friend (he did remember reading fanfiction where it was more emotional, though.) None had a protagonist talk about something as mundane as the shows they loved to watch, let alone a protagonist who would talk to someone awkward like him. Didn't Yuu have their squad for these sort of heart to heart things? But they insisted that he was the guy they wanted to talk to; according to them, he was the most similar to the friends they rambled to about anime and would very likely 'get' what they would be talking about. Idia was simultaneously flattered and frightened: flattered because his expertise in the media was recognized and frightened because he was in a position reserved for those with high relationship levels. In fact, he panicked when Yuu suddenly got teary-eyed. The saving grace was the next level finishing loading and the characters getting thrown into chaos. The next time he came to Ramshackle Dorm, he brought with him some anime he thought Yuu would appreciate.
"And that's the thing. I don't understand how people forget there's more to a person than whether they have magic. There were times I wished no one had magic so they'd just shut up and stop acting like they're better than me or anyone else. It's like having magic is an excuse to be an ass."
Yuu sometimes joined Malleus on his nighttime strolls. Most nights they would be sound asleep, which was why he treasured the times they were awake enough to walk with him. The two talked about anything that came to mind: gargoyles, schoolwork, differences between Earth and Twisted Wonderland. Then one night, Yuu casually mentioned that many of the students were rather. . . unwelcoming. "Some of them act like I don't exist, but it's better than getting my homework stolen and thrown to the wind." He was surprised, but not unfamiliar with bullying from Lilia's recollection of cruel humans and various history lessons. He asked why. They shrugged, answering, "Probably because I'm low on the hierarchy. I don't have basic knowledge on magic on top of being magicless." When he said it still didn't warrant such behavior, they smiled sadly and replied, "Well, that's how it goes when you got something another person doesn't, and that other person just so happens to not really fit in a certain place." Later, Malleus was distraught to hear from Lilia that some of the students who were unkind to Yuu were of Diasomnia. The dorm was founded on the elegance of the Thorn Witch, surely the students would act with decor. But Lilia told him not to worry, he had a word with those students on being more open. But Malleus still wondered if there was something he could do. It turns out the answer was simple (even though it took place after his Overblot): hang out with Yuu during the daytime. They were a fellow student, were they not? So why should they be treated any different?
"Sometimes, I wonder if anything would change if I Overblotted. Would anyone wonder then why it happened and be nicer? Or. . ." Yuu let out a bitter scoff. "Would nothing change and people just see me more as an alien freak?"
They scrubbed the tears in their eyes. "Maybe I'm just a dumb ass and my Phantom would just eat me. It's not like I have anything else to offer it. God, what am I doing?"
The weight of what they had spilled for the past couple of minutes started crashing down like a crumbling shelf. They didn't want to see what the others' reactions were and continued to wipe their eyes with their hands and sleeves, even if there wasn't much to wipe. Their mind cycled through anything they could say to escape such an embarrassing situation. So sorry, I didn't know where it came from. Let's go back to arguing why I can't come with you guys to save my cat. He has been nothing but a pain in the ass, I should know, but he's become nicer and been my primary protector. He keeps insisting he'd protect me because he's the boss and I'm his henchman, and it's so endearing sometimes. And he's comforted me when I become so sick and just need someone to hold me--
"How long has this been going on for?" It was a gentle question. Yuu lowered their hand and found Ace and Deuce standing before them, the worry on their faces making their heart clench.
"A long time."
"Why didn't you say anything? We could have done something, you know," Deuce said.
Yuu shook their head. "This school runs on sink or swim. 'Losers don't have the right to complain.' And did you guys forget that we're freshmen? What can you guys do against the whole school? I actually talked about this with the school counselor and all he could do was apologize and tell me he'll put in a note for the headmaster."
Yuu almost laughed at the faces Ace and Deuce made. "I'm pretty sure I'm his first case for something like this."
"Still, you shouldn't just take everything lying down," Deuce said.
"I don't want to anymore, but I'm so tired of fighting. At what point can I stop?"
Yuu was once again seen under a new light. The viewpoint was different for each boy: from magicless outlier to honorary dorm member, notorious problem solver to exhausted errand runner, doe-eyed student to determined but kind mastermind, just to name a few. Yuu had laid bare wounds previously covered up by uniform sleeves, things they couldn't talk about or didn't feel comfortable sharing because otherwise they'd go against the school norm and grab negative attention to themself. Their closest friends knew of these wounds; others caught glimpses of certain parts. With the revelation, they all shared a similar viewpoint: an ordinary person so far from home, dropped into a magical, chaotic world and more vulnerable than what anyone realized. More exhausted and heavily scarred than what anyone realized.
"When Leona told me to stay here, I thought all along you guys didn't think of me as someone who could stand beside you and that everything had just been you all tolerating me." Yuu's voice dropped to a whisper. "That had hurt me more than any of you could know."
". . . Anyone who thinks you're undeserving of your position knows absolutely nothing," Riddle said. "Not counting your grades, you've proven yourself enough to have a place in this school."
Yuu gave Riddle a wobbly smile and he found himself feeling a little bashful. "Thanks, Riddle."
The smile suddenly became strained and they looked away. "I'm sorry. I know I said I took things easy and forgave, but--" they grimaced--"I can't bring myself to let go of some things you and the others did."
A/N: This accidentally became a two parter

Platonic yandere good omens with a darling who loves to read and is teased for it by others, maybe she’s a customer at the bookshop
Tumblr media
I've changed this a little bit so I hope you still like it. Based on these headcanons. You don't have to read the to understand this though. Also I think that I overestimated how big the bookshop is, but just use your imagination, it'll be okay.
tw: Bullying (nothing too serious but just making sure)
Masterlist
---
Working at Mr. Fell's bookshop was great.
Granted, the store was very slow, no one barely ever showed up, and when they did you were strictly prohibited from selling books. So, you spent most of your time cleaning up and organizing books, which meant that most days were pretty relaxing.
Except for today.
"Hey kid, you're late." You barely spare a glance at Crowley, who's leaning lazily on one of the many comfy chairs in the shop. Huffing, you rush over to Mr. Fell's desk, placing your bag down next to it.
"You're not my boss, Mr. Crowley." You remind him with a blank tone. It doesn't seem to bother him, not like you can tell, with his glasses basically glued to his face and everything. Even so, you can feel his eyes on you, following you as you walk through the store. "Where is he anyway?" You ask, not seeing your boss anywhere. Crowley shifts in his seat just a bit, perhaps looking around for said man, but you couldn't tell as you hurry to put your school supplies away, Mr. Fell nice enough to let you put your bag near his personal desk so that others wouldn't mess with it.
"I'm not sure--not here either way." Crowley responds when enter back into the front of the shop. You sigh, it's weird for one of them not to know where the other was, but it's fine, everything will be okay.
Working the shop while Mr. Fell wasn't around always made you nervous. He wasn't very strict about most things, but when it came to his books he was always very straight forward on not finalizing any purchases without his permission. It's hard to explain that to potential customers, and with school being--a lot lately, it's been difficult to pay attention and stay on track.
The chime of the bell above the door broke you out of your worries. You were really hoping Mr. Crowley had left, but instead he was still reclining on his chair, eyes focused on one of the many books in this establishment. Instead, it was a group of three students, giggling as they walked into the store. This was your worst nightmare, the giggling, the whispers, the clear teasing that they thought was the funniest thing in the world.
You scurry behind a bookshelf, hoping that they didn't see you, or hear you for that matter. You tried your best to be invisible, busing yourself with task after task as you try to avoid the group of bullies. "Oh my god, (Y/n)? I didn't know you worked here." But eventually, you were found out. The main girl, dressed with a coy smile, stares you down, she definitely knew you worked here.
"Yeah..." You mumble out, looking at her nervously. She snickers towards the two others behind her, before looking back at you.
"Why haven't you told us?" She laughs, calling you a teasing nickname in the process. "We could've gotten so many free books from here--y'know like a friend discount."
"I didn't know we were friends." You answered, backing away when her look turned cold. "And either way, I can't authorize purchases when my boss isn't here."
She crosses her arms, any look of false kindness gone. "Well come on--if he's not here then what's the harm of a few books going missing." She says it's no big deal. You laugh in disbelief at her arrogance.
"I'm not going to give you free books just because we happen to know each other." You stand your ground, moving to put the book back on the shelf. Right when you were about to, however, she reaches over, grabbing the book right out of your hand, yanking it away from you.
"Why are you being so annoying?!" She scoffs. "It's just a stupid book, ugh--this is why nobody likes you--you take everything so seriously!" Her and her friend laugh at your dumb founded face, giggling as you rub your arm lightly.
Your brow furrows in frustration as you try to move to grab the book, groaning as she passes it to one of the others behind her. "Look--give it back--If you want it so bad just wait 'till my boss is back!" You whisper yell. You didn't want Mr. Crowley to hear you, hoping you were far enough into the back of the store to be out of earshot.
The book finally lands back into the main girl's hands, tightly gripping it so there was no possibility that you could get it from her. "If you want it so bad--" She mocks your previous voice of distress "--then take it!" She pushes the book into your chest roughly, causing you to gasp and fall down. The three laugh loudly as tears burn in your eyes, but at least you got the book back, that's all that matters. You waited to get up until you were sure they were away from you, sighing as you wiped your face and placed the book back on the shelf.
You were embarrassed, you didn't want to go back to the front and face Mr. Crowley, not having the capability to deal with his teasing right now. Leaning back on the bookshelf, you sigh once again, closing your eyes as you attempt to steady your breathing. It was quiet, but you could hear shuffling from the other side of the store. They must still be here, and at this point, you wanted them to leave, before Mr. Fell got back.
"--and don't come back!" You heard the voice of Mr. Crowley, accompanied by the slamming of a door. Eyes wide, you didn't know what to say when he turned back to look at you, huffing and puffing clearly annoyed.
He motions towards the sitting area, wanting for you to sit down. "Ugh--the audacity of some--some--teenagers!" He dramatically sits back down onto his seat across from you. "No offense by the way." He adds on.
"None taken..." You respond, slightly confused. "...what did you do?"
"Told 'em off is what I did!" He groans, snarling slightly "can't just come in here and start demanding things!" He mumbled out a bit more, a "rude" and "annoying" quietly leaving his lips.
"Please don't tell Mr. Fell about this." You interrupt his grumbling, causing him to raise a brow. You didn't to lose your job, Mr. Fell was great, but you didn't know what would happen if he learned about today. You looked down at your hands, nervous, "I--"
"Don't tell Mr. Fell what?" You jumped at the sound of a new voice, looking up to see the infamous face of your boss, and your heart dropped. "Does this have anything to do with the students that just rushed out of here?"
"No!" You shoot up, awkward. "--I'm going to get back to get back to work." You rush away from the two men, back towards the back of the store.
---
"(Y/n)" It was Mr. Fell, his voice soft as always. "Crowley told me what happened. I'm so sorry I wasn’t here."
You shake your head, trying to push your emotions down. "It's fine. It's not that big of a deal anyway." You say, rambling. "I'm sorry if any of the books were damaged, I'll pay for it if it was, but I'm pretty sure it was--"
"(Y/N)" He interrupts. "It's fine, please don't worry." He smiles, making you a little less nervous.
"I'll try." A small smile decorates your face. "So...I'm not going to lose my job."
He gasps. "Oh--of course not, sweetheart." He reassures you, lifting a weight from your shoulders. You felt like you could finally breathe again.
"Thank you."
He pats you on the back, "There's no need for that--but if that ever happens again please don't hide it from me."
You nod, getting through the rest of your work day without any problem.
---
It was a slow day at school. You honestly forgot most of what happened back at work, but that was probably because you tried your best to forget it.
"(Y/n)--" You look up from the paper on your desk, coming face to face with said girl you tried so hard to forget. But this time, there was no coy smile, no posey behind her, no giggling. Instead, she was shaking, not being able to lock eyes with you. It was a stark contrast to the girl you saw yesterday.
"Um--I'm sorry..." She mumbled, barely loud enough to hear "...for what happened, yesterday." She stuttered, clearly afraid of something, but you didn't have enough time to respond as she rushed away.
That was strange, but you chose not to focus on it, shrugging your shoulders.
At least she won't be bothering you again.
---
A/N: I had to get this out of my drafts, sorry if this sucks.

Got covid, so here is a collection of sick!141 headcanons:
• When someone gets sick, Gaz will bully the hell out of them. Last time he told Ghost he had the worst case of sniffles known to man (god knows how he didn't get disintegrated at the spot). But, he's also the one to make ginger tea, bring some snacks, flirt some lemsip out of that pretty nurse for his sick teammates. His actions really balance out the jokes.
• When he gets sick himself, he usually gets all of that back, everyone makes sure he's got everything he needs, and he ends up with way too much snacks, tea, and medicine. He's usually quick to get better, yet it warms his heart to know they care about him just as much as he does about them.
• Soap gets dramatic when he's feeling off. Not on missions, he knows how and when to push through, but God forbid he's going though a cold back on base, he'll let everyone know how fucking miserable he is. If he has an option to take a day or two off, he will do it, screw everything until he's back on his feet. Also, Ghost would usually ignore the rambles but then check up on him every now and again, just to make sure he's actually OK, and there's nothing major going on.
• Ghost usually gets more gruff and moody when he's sick. He also tries to avoid everyone, and he just sleeps it off if he can. Having a runny nose when you wear a mask all the time is not fun, it gets wet and awful. He doesn't like to miss the gym, too, but he usually goes easy if he's not well. The only thing Soap really scolds him for is that he keeps smoking anyway.
• Sick Price is a nightmare for the rest of 141. Not only the man is a fucking workaholic, he's also stubborn as hell. He'd be sitting in his office working his ass off even if his head is stuffed, and he's really not in shape to deal with all that paperwork. It requires a joint effort from all of them to get him to drop it and rest some, and him getting more irritable doesn't help it. That attitude also makes it worse for him, so he's usually sick for longer because he doesn't really allow himself time to recover and jumps straight back the second he feels just a smidge better.
• Soap usually has these awful high fevers for the first couple of nights, he's shivering and all that. Ghost brings him extra blankets and stays with him sometimes, especially when it's really bad. He's seen Johhny being really out of it because of how high his fever was, the guy couldn't even figure out how to use his phone, had forgotten about the meds and was a complete mess. So, Ghost tracks that for him, and makes sure he's OK, and that his fever doesn't fry his brains ("god knows you haven't got a lot left in that noggin, Johnny, you need every braincell").
• Price has a secret family recipe for chicken noodle soup that he refuses to give away, but when one of his guys is really not OK, he usually makes some. Even Ghost can't resist it. He's reluctant to let anyone in, but the smell really hits home, so he opens the door. The small "thank you" he blurts out really tells Price a lot.
"You're welcome, Simon. And you're off for tomorrow, get some rest, OK?"
Also, the only other person that he just can't not let in is Soap. Gaz would just drop off a tray full of things at his doorway, shout him a quick "get well soon, Lt" and be out of his hair, but Soap is a whole another story. Soap is relentless. One time he stayed at his door for hours, so now Ghost knows better than to resist him, it's a fight he cannot win. God knows he tried. Having him is honestly good, too. He somehow makes it easier just by being there, he reminds Ghost to drink his water, makes him comfortable in a way Ghost would never care to, not when it comes to himself.

I don't know why the fandom is having such a hard time picturing Azul having a little brother based on Morgana from the second Little Mermaid movie. It could totally work in canon!
Let's break this down for a second:
Azul's parents are divorced. He was raised by his bio mom and his step-dad.
Azul says himself that his step-father is "the father he respects," which could mean that he has absolutely no contact with his bio-dad. He wouldn't know what he was up to or if he had other children.
Tumblr media
Azul's bio-dad could've also been a cecaelian (or octo-mermaid) and had another child, or he could've been a normal mermaid who got with another octo-mer after he divorced Azul's mother.
Heck, maybe that was the cause for the divorce in the first place. Maybe he had an affair and destroyed his marriage himself. Or if you want to go a bit deeper, after their marriage fell apart for whatever reason, Azul's bio-dad wanted to recreate the family he lost and got with another cecaelian woman and had his little brother.
This point, in particular, could be a reference to the popular theory that Morgana was Ursula's half-sister. Same mother, different fathers.
The theory goes that Ursula was the result of an affair Triton's father, the former king, had with an octo-mermaid. Such a scandal would bring shame upon the royal family, hence why Ursula lived with her mother away from the prying eyes of the court, but it would also make sense why, in her youth, Ursula still had ties to the castle and lived there from time to time (according to the movie).
A few years later, Ursula's mother had another baby girl with a normal mermaid. He wasn't anyone special like the king, with no royal lineage or special magic of his own, making Morgana "unremarkable" in her mother's eyes. Or maybe their mother truly loved this man, and the relationship didn't work out, so she takes her anger and insecurities out on Morgana.
With all of this in mind, it's possible that Azul's bio-dad could resent Azul's little brother in some way, giving him an inferiority complex a mile wide, just like Morgana. He wouldn't stop talking about Azul and how great he's become, how his brother should strive to be more like him.
It was always: Azul this, or Azul that, or (INSERT NAME) why can't you be more like your brother Azul.
He would grow to despise his Azul, his own brother, who he's never even MET yet. That's sad.
Now you might be asking, how would Azul's bio-dad even know about Azul's accomplishments? Glad you asked!
Either A): Azul's mother is the only one in contact with him and updates him on how Azul's doing from time to time.
Or B): His bio-dad enrolled the Morgana stand-in in Azul's school by chance and heard through the grape vine that Azul became the deal maker non-technical crime boss he is now.
Or both. Honestly, both of these combined would push little male Morgana over the edge. His classmates hear the rumors about an octo-mer who granted devious wishes a few years back and are either scared of or really unimpressed by the little bro's lack of magical prowess.
The bullying and self-hatred haven't skipped a generation, and neither has the body issues. Instead of being insecure about being overweight, Azul's little bro is insecure about being way too skinny.
This went on way longer than I thought, but to wrap up: All this to say, if we got Jamil's sister, who is a reference to Jafar's twin sister from that obscure Aladdin game, I think it's plausible for Azul to have a brother.
Thank you, and goodnight!

@yandereskies -> This was the other half of one of their requests. Their other request is still in the works!
I'm still quite new to Generation One's cartoon so I may be a bit vague with this, but I hope you still enjoy it regardless. For Rumble and Frenzy, I used their cartoon colors.
Note: This concept made me enjoy Rumble and Frenzy more- Also Generation one's cartoon is funny as hell.
Yandere! Soundwave + Rumble and Frenzy with Human! Darling
Transformers: Generation One
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic - Sharing
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Yanderes sharing, Stalking, Kidnapping, Degrading behavior, Manipulation, Threats, Forced companionship (?), Violence, Murder implied, Possessive behavior mention, Jealousy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Based on what I've seen and according to my research;
Soundwave is a stoic Decepticon who's loyal to Megatron, he often speaks and acts very monotone.
Rumble is described to be a "bully" or "jerk" on the internet, while his brother, Frenzy, is described as "insane" and "destructive".
When it come to all three of them being yanderes for a human darling, it could go two ways.
It's a forced family dynamic or you're treated like a human pet with the three of them.
Technically you're Soundwave's human.
Rumble and Frenzy just share you for attention.
I also have a feeling Laserbeak and Ravage would get involved with tracking you despite this concept only focusing on two of the Cassettes.
In terms of how you met Soundwave could also be a few ways.
You could be a human hostage, a friend of the Autobots, or something in between.
Somehow you've managed to catch Soundwave's eye.
It's easy for him to keep track of you, too.
Laserbeak can stalk you from the air, recording and listening to everything about you.
Ravage also helps with recording information, just from the ground.
Soundwave is an unnerving yandere due to the amount of information he can obtain on you.
Everything is recorded in his databank.
His private databank.
Soundwave is a patient yandere, too.
He'd sit back and collect information on you before kidnapping you.
Which will happen eventually.
Speaking of which, Rumble and Frenzy most likely become attached to you after you're kidnapped.
Soundwave is well-versed on how to take care of you based on his research.
When he takes you in, with permission of Megatron, he knows what to do to care for you.
It really is like having a pet.
When I think of how Rumble and Frenzy act towards Soundwave's new human, I like to think they act like two kids at times?
As in, there's no doubt they fight over you.
Soundwave often wonders how much it'll take to get you overwhelmed.
Rumble and Frenzy often try to ask Soundwave to have their turn with you.
Soundwave towers over you, but Rumble and Frenzy are actually only about six foot/two meters.
They are actually closer to human height and can show affection to you more efficiently.
At first they'd probably be a bit mean towards you and how fragile you are as a human.
But they fall for you like Soundwave eventually.
Sometimes you feel like a toy to the two.
The two would probably be at each other's throats, complaining that one of them got you longer than the others.
They learn to be gentle with holding you and often pet you on the head or coo over how small and squishy you are.
They're a bit rough and you bruise easily against their metal.
Soundwave no doubt teaches them to be gentle.
He also teaches them your favorite things to get you to bond with them more.
The two struggle sharing with each other but tolerate it.
The two Cons are fascinated with you.
Soundwave struggles with affection at times due to his stoic nature, but he tends to hold you in his hand while working on something.
If he has to leave you, he gives you to Rumble and Frenzy.
Those two can't seem to get enough of you, following you around to see just what humans do.
They are also just as protective of you as Soundwave.
Megatron doesn't bother with you since Soundwave deals with you most of the time.
The biggest issue is the Autobots.
They could take you away.
Soundwave's stoic and acts like he has everything under control if Autobots came to "rescue" you.
For the most part he does actually have things under control.
Rumble and Frenzy are more volatile.
The two don't mind using their powers to create enough chaos to relocate you.
The three wouldn't let you go for the world.
If they ever got back to Cybertron, Soundwave will find a way to adapt you to the environment.
He can't just leave you at Earth.
He likes you too much, plus Rumble and Frenzy would bug him about you.
Escape is nearly impossible alone with Soundwave, even without the yandere Cassettes.
Think about it.
Rumble and Frenzy are never far from you, always wanting to hold and fight over you like jealous children at times.
Even if you somehow got past Soundwave, he still has Laserbeak and Ravage to track you.
You can't get past Soundwave's cameras and microphones.
At this point, they become your own little family.
There's teasing from Rumble and Frenzy, but they really do love you.
Soundwave may not be expressive, but you can also tell he cares by the way he holds you and lightly touches you with his fingers.
He's cautious of his strength.
I don't doubt they'd all kill for you if they were given the chance.
Soundwave is used to the order from Megatron.
Frenzy seems eager at the idea of harming someone for you, Rumble is similar but less eager.
Other humans or Autobots are going to met with quite a bit of resistance if they tried to pry you from their grip.
They'll be reduced to bloody scrap within minutes.
It's dubious if their intentions are romantic or platonic, yet it's clear they care for you in some intense capacity.
Soundwave and his Cassettes love you like one big family...
The longer you're with them, the longer you wonder if you'll ever go home again to see your real family and friends.

An overview of Rachel Elizabeth Dare’s hair, and her hairbrush (and why the hairbrush should be appreciated more)
I’ve seen lots of people saying that Rachel bringing a hairbrush is unrealistic, and people with WAVY hair (which is way different from curly hair) saying it's unrealistic too, so this post is telling them why they’re wrong. So I LOVE Rachel, not just because she looks like me (same pasty, easily sunburned skin, and plethora of freckles; her poor bank account, spending so much on sunscreen), but also because I relate to her so much! One reason I relate to her is that HER HAIR LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE MINE, HER OFFICIAL ART HAIR LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE MY HAIR, way too curly, way too frizzy, and easily tangled. So, for all the straight-haired people reading this (also I will be showing this to all my friends, all of whom have straight or wavy hair, except one of them has two waves down the back of her hair and is delusional because she thinks her hair is curly) this is my hair brushing routine and other things about my hair so you understand what I mean when I say that taking care of hair like that is HARD:
I take a shower and use curly hair-specific shampoo (which is expensive)
I also do a wash-out untangle thing to make it easier to brush
I use curly hair-specific conditioner, a detangling spray, and two hair mask things to make the brushing easier
I use either a WET brush or a detangling brush, but usually the WET brush
I keep a spray bottle on hand to keep it wet the whole time
It takes at least 30-45 minutes for me to brush my hair
I wash my hair out again to get the conditioner and hair masks out
I use a wide tooth comb after that because water makes it a little tangled
Sometimes after that, I use a leave-in conditioner, but not often
If I brushed it for a fancy event or something then I use my diffuser to dry it, if not I braid it and go to bed because I take night showers unless it's a fancy event or sometimes a weekend
I sleep in a silk bonnet and use only a silk pillowcase
I can only brush my hair wet
I can’t run my fingers through it a lot
I have to go to a haircut place that specializes in curly hair
I can't brush it in the morning or casually
I brush it every three days because I can’t get it wet lots because that's bad for it
To get the Frizz™ that’s on the top of my head every morning to calm down when I put it up I wet it with my sink water
The only hair ties I can use in my hair on a normal basis are scrunchies
I only wear my hair down the day after or after I brush my hair
I wear it up every day
My friends can't do my hair a lot of the time unless I instruct them or find a tutorial video of a style of curly hair like mine, and they call me controlling when I do that
My friends with wavy hair say that wavy hair is harder to take care of than curly hair and I hate it because they don’t know what they’re talking about
If I don’t brush my hair it all becomes one giant matt on the back of my head and if that goes on too long it becomes painful and I get a scalp rash
Buying products is an expensive necessity
One I hadn’t brushed my hair for a week and when I took it down to redo my bun my friend looked at me in Horror™
Only one of my friends actually puts in the work to do my hair and helps me with it because she enjoys styling it and understands it’s hard to take care of after helping me brush it a few times, surprise surprise she’s my best friend
No hair clips, they get stuck in my hair
Once I was brushing it and my hairbrush just broke in half
I have an undercut that you can’t see with my hair down, just to make it easier to deal with; it’s an inch-or-half-an-inch-idk-which-one-thick, inch tall stripe that’s right above the back of my neck, at the base of my skull
I shed like a fucking dog
My hair also becomes so frizzy it looks like I brushed it dry when it's humid, and I live in a humid and hot place
Ginger hair makes you sunburn easier (and unable to tan)
I got bullied in school for being ginger because there’s something wrong with that in the minds of middle schoolers (I was also bullied for being gay and not ashamed of being queer but that’s not the point)
I would be called a leprechaun a lot as a kid, Saint Patrick's Day was and still is hell
Every time someone with straight hair complains about their hair being frizzy, I die a little more inside
Being pale an ginger, doing makeup, dying hair, and literally buying clothes is hard
especially makeup
I use the palest concealer they have at Target (it's called porcelain)
That’s all I can think of right now but I know there’s more. It’s entirely realistic that Rachel would bring a hairbrush because she has experienced all of this, and all of this started to happen to me when I was years younger than her. I said that I couldn’t brush my hair dry and Rachel could have had to, or maybe she would have waited for a part of the labyrinth with water to wet it and then brushed it, or had Percy use his water powers to wet it (Platonic Perachel is amazing, and I need more of it, they’re one of my fav brotps). So anyways guys, respect Rachel and stop questioning her hairbrush, they were in the labyrinth for a while, she needed that thing and it had done its fair share of service. That hairbrush has done more than being thrown at Kronos' eye.

a list of bdubs-centric continuities that make me fucking wildly insane, in chronological-ish order:
boomers + vote scar posters in the moon base as a memento of the prior season
don't worry, it's not the clock (start of hcs8 with impulse, who has come to give bdubs presents and spots the accessory on his new skin)
this brings back memories (the very first seconds of partnering with etho in last life)
now it feels like home! (cleo arriving in what will become the snow fort for the first time, to lighthearted complaining from etho)
I heard you've been messing with my buddy (cleo bullying etho mostly for fun, but an opportunity she had solely because she'd already been doing pointless favors for bdubs (pretending to have found the enchanter randomly while both red, even though no one would fall for that bc she's red) solely because he asked and she's still fond of him)
that man has a hold on me, I guess (about his habit of making dumb deals with scar for no good logical reason)
I trust you because bdubs trusted you (not only is the crastle a running undercurrent in LL, it's also transitively extended to etho)
that was in another world (tango to bdubs, not long before escaping obliteration by moon in an extended bit where he chooses to take his horse instead of his business partner despite some asymmetrically heart-wrenching videos exchanged after it was too late)
Double Life #1: The Nick of Time (bdubs makes impulse, his government assigned soulmate, get him the thing he betrayed impulse for in an identically titled third life episode)
I have NEVER lied to you, Bdubs (cleo taking bdubs to task for not continuing to return the loyalty they've had to each other over the seasons)
he's just jealous (explaining that etho, who despite being the first person to call bdubs and impulse married can't stop asking if bdubs is really happy, is insulting impulse's honor because of missing their past partnership)
she scolded me so badly, one time (explaining above scolding to ren as a relevant criteria to cleo's hcs9 court audition tape)
and, in fact, the way that bdubs' reputation as the hermitcraft server's most dedicated sleeper led to his constant carrying of clocks as a done thing, to keeping clocks close in the life series where you can't one-person sleep the night away so they're much less useful, leading to I'd do anything for a clock because that service he provides in another world has become central to who he is as a character, to the keeping of time and history, and also bundled here associations with the moon, which recalls the passage of time and now also the ending of worlds, and you'd think it should have been planned from the start but he's just always taking every opportunity to say, "that world is over, but don't you remember what I did or didn't do? doesn't it still matter, here and now?"

Yae Miko with a GN!reader and Yae is scared that she might be accidentally hurting or manipulating S/O, so she's confused as to why S/O keeps coming back to her, scared that she might be accidentally gaslighting S/O when in reality she's doing nothing wrong
"Loving you, killing you, isn't it thrilling? You've said enough from those guts you've been spilling through Crying and begging, a lovely sound I tear at your soul, but you still stick around What I've found is a treasure indeed A friend who can bend to my every need I'll use and abuse you and never feel bad, until suddenly, funnily, you take my hand Tangle you tight in the yarns that I've spun And I'll do it again, to get what I want Pretend that I'm harmless, I'm actually alarmed this is something charming to anyone... (wow) The fact can actually make Death wanna Die? I'm the one that you love, and I'm making you cry And it's "just me", after all"
"You know, I want you to care that I want you to stay So I swear I won't blame you if you turn away At the end of the day, I will smile and give in to this burning and vile Original sin 'Cause hell is the realization you're selfish And drawn to the loving, the soft and the helpless I can see through that facade that you wear When you're honest, and promise you'll fight the despair And I'll say it again, that I know I'm the worst So then how can you spend so much love on the person that hurts you Like I do? 'Cause inside, I can't hide that I cannot desert you And if I'm "the world" to you, surely you never stood even a chance at all, didn't you? It's me, after all"
This request was based on the song "Ijimeko Bully" by Mori Calliope so please try to focus most on the themes of the song also here is the overall lyric analysis made by the song writer/singer:
"The basic theme and motif is, it is a self-hating song. …The self-hatred is accompanied by confusion as to why someone still continues to love them. Think of like, for example, a kind of Beauty and Beast situation. There’s a terrible beast who doesn’t understand why when they continue to hurt the person they care about, the person that they care about keeps coming back to them. …This is coming from the perspective of the beast.
Something I want to make really clear is, in this sense, because this is coming from the beast’s mind, there are mentions of things like hurting, abuse, et cetera. This is because, since we’re in the mind of the beast, these are just things that this villainous being believes that they are doing, right? So perhaps they aren’t actually hurting someone. But they hate themselves so much that any time they give the bluntest little quip against someone that they care about. while to that other person it might feel like, “ouch that was kind of a harsh word,” to the beast, perhaps, it feels like they’ve done something horrible and struck and actually hurt that person much more deep than what may be the truth.
So for example, while I don’t actually go out of my way to go on rants and tirades and angry shouting at anyone because I really don’t like confrontation, sometimes I’ll give a sharp little remark or say, “Oh, that wasn’t funny.” But it’s like, it feels to me as soon as I’ve said it I regret it, and I say, “oh man, oh shit oh fuck, oh no,” and I feel like I’ve really hurt that person. There are times when I’ve apologized afterward to people that I care about, and they say, “What are you talking about, it’s fine, y'know it was a little annoying, but it’s not that big of a deal, dude.” And maybe the root of that is because the beast actually just hates themself. So there’s the self-hatred part. ‘Calli’s the beast?’ Maybe!"

Yea is known for making people sweat and squirm. On occasion she’s made some of them cry. At first she thought you were simply a masochist, continually coming back to her with that big, dopey smile and offerings only to be turned into a flustered mess when she teased you. But you kept coming back. Then she thought you were trying to bribe her, everyone who comes to the shrine has some sort of desire, whether or not they want to admit it. But you voluntarily said that the only thing you wanted was to see her. Finally, she thought you were a blind, lovestruck fool. No one really loves her. No one even truly knows her. You just want to have a pretty and powerful woman like her wrapped around your finger, but if you think Yae is going to fall for that, you’re sorely mistaken. But you surprise her once again. You claim to not care if she loves you. You admit to having a crush on her. Yae cuts you off with a quip about how she’d never date a human. You look down shamefully but continue on and say that you’d still like to be her friend. You enjoy seeing her in action and the conversations you have with her are entertaining. And that one day, You can know the real her.
Yae is stunned by your confession. Taken back by your sincerity. She sorely regrets making that snide remark earlier.
The sunset light hits your face beautifully, and you smile at her. It’s time for you to go back to your boring, little human life. Yae almost doesn’t hear your question of if she wants you to come back the next day, as you always do. She waves you off and says that you can do whatever you want. She’s hit with another wave of guilt as your face falls.
The response was something typical of her to say, but it still hurt for you to hear.
Yae isn’t sure how to react to this rare feeling of discomfort. Since when is she uncomfortable with being herself? Normally she basks in a person’s crestfallen face or at least is disappointed in it. But just now, with you, she felt… ashamed of herself.
You disappear down the mountain and Yae retires to her chambers. She doesn’t sleep. One night of missed sleep is nothing to her. Instead she lays in her comfy futon and thinks about all the times she must have hurt you. She says so many things in a day, so used to saying whatever will get the best reaction out of people.
She used to think it was you that she had to be wary of. Oh how the tables have turned. The reality is that it’s you who should be avoiding her.
Miko feels as though she’s been stabbed as the thought of you avoiding her crosses her mind. What a terrible life that would be, she thinks to herself.
But…
She can’t argue that it would be better for you. Even she has to admit to the damages she must have done to you. The ways she’s baited you, letting her teasing go too far. She’s taken every gift you gave, every compliment, everything. Such an adorable, little piece of sunshine. Little red riding hood just trying to pick flowers for grandma and the big bad wolf— Yae came along and ruined everything. Stole your innocence and hope. All while smiling about it.
Yae is torn between wanting you to come back and hoping you stay away. She’s a bad influence. A bad person. She’ll only continue to hurt you. It’s who she is after all. You’ll never truly know her. You’ll never make it past her walls. You’ll start climbing and she’ll tease you and laugh when you fall and land on your ass. It’s just too entertaining. It's too mean. She should tell you to stay away.
Even if it makes her heart sting.

Helloo it's Ness anon again :)
I was thinking about Ness getting off by humping your pillow and sniffing your panties, he also humps your pillow just like how you make him so do it when you're around ♡
Tumblr media
(nsfw) SHOW ME :: xfemdom!Reader
alright bullying Ness is growing on me ngl ♡ - requests open cw: fem!Reader, dom!Reader, exhibition themes, scent kink, pillow humping, masturbation, mild humiliation kink, unedited word count: drabble character(s): Alexis Ness
Tumblr media
"Alright, show me."
You weren't lying either. Panties dangling on one finger in his face as you stood above him with your other hand on your hip. Ness knelt over the pillow in a joking manner when he'd off handedly mentioned he used it to jerk off. Big eyes staring up at your behind his mop of curly hair. He'd said it. He just hadn't expected you to put him to the test like this.
"Show me." You insisted again tapping your foot and dangling your panties closer to his face, "You're already this hard and these are almost clean panties." A wink and his face grew redder, "Almost clean, of course."
"I can't- Just- And showing you-" Ness fumbled, tripped and grabbed at a reason to not go through with it. Harmless foolishness now had him throbbing in his boxers. Visible tent growing between his legs as he caught a whiff of your panties. The mouth watering scent of your dried juices on the crotch of your panties. Ones he knew spent half the day rubbing against your slit. Now within arms reach for him to have.
"You can have em," You draped the fabric over his face so Ness's cute innocent look was obscured by the lewd notion of panties across his blushing face, "As long as you let me see you cum."
It was a deal he couldn't pass up. Stupid if he did in fact. The second you laid the strong scent of your panties on his face there was no other choice. He wanted them for himself.
Scrambling to get himself free of his boxers. Only a button standing in the way of his aching cock and the cool face of the pillow. Ness pushed the fabric slit down around the base of his aching cock. Not even touched. Only temped with your panties. His cock head purple and begging for attention. Ness groaned the first time he drew his fingers down his shaft and tapped himself against the cold fabric of the pillow. A quick reprimand by you above him. Reminding him that you wanted to see him use the pillow, not just jerk off.
Feeling the flush coolness of the pillow finally touch the underside of his aching cock. Ness groaning into the panties across his face. He finally reached up and mashed them more into his nose. Eyes fluttering behind his bangs when the scent of your cunt filled his senses. Immediately feeling the need to run his tongue along the inner part of your panties. Tasting the tang of your juices and rutting his hips into the pillow under him.
Consumed quickly by the addition of your panties on his face and his nose being buried into it each passing second. Ness utterly refusing to take them off his face as his hips kept rutting into the pillow. Cushiony sides from the feathery pillow engulfing his cock when his thighs began to squeeze together. Sandwiching his length in the smooth fabric Ness couldn't control himself like he'd anticipated. Between the lewdness of your panties now mashed into his nose and his tongue gliding over the dirtiest parts. And your eyes on him and you watching him like a hawk. Ness had no idea this would have ever been so much fun.
"My god look at you-" You voice, mocking and playful, snapped him from his haze. Giggling behind your hand looking down your nose at the man fucking a pillow at your feet clearly on the edge of loosing it, "You fucking little perv. Sucking on my panties was enough to make you fuck a pillow??"
"N-No-" Ness tried to deny it. Though fighting with you over it made him throb all that much harder. Barely able to keep his eyes open, sucking on the spit soaked crotch of your panties and fucking the pillow with the only friction on his poor cock. Your words kept coming and Ness tried to deny every last one of them. The accusations of his depraved lewdness were true though. He'd never wanted to cum so badly in his life.
"Aww look the little freaks going to cum on his pillow like a perv-"
Ness didn't even have the voice to defy you. His stomach felt like a rushing wave hit him and before he knew it you were right. Cum spilling over the surface of the pristine white fabric. Watery ropes of cum shooting as far as the edge of the crumbled pillow and rolling off it's cotton surface before getting a chance to soak in. Cum that dribbled off the pillow as he came was only half of it. The rest pooling around his tip. Soaking slowly into the fabric of the pillow case. Ness riding out his own orgasm gasping with your panties half in his mouth as he tried to suck on them but just couldn't focus. Helplessly fucking his tiny pool of cum on the surface of the pillow as he milked every last drop of his own cum out of him. Giving up finally when he had nothing else in him and his legs gave out under him. Leaving him sitting on his cum stained pillow as his cock throbbed from the after shock of such an orgasm.
Picking your now wet panties off the degenerates face. You barely had to worry about the half lidded idiot kneeling before you. Ness trying to catch his breath with his cummy pillow between his legs. You smile and wad up the crotch of your own panties before dipping them back into your pants. Dragging the spit soaked fabric up your slit before tossing it back on his face. The snail trail from your own juices prominent on the part he'd been sucking on when he came. Ness scrambled to get the freshly dirtied part of your panties to himself and not rubbing anywhere else. Leaving you to wink and tell him that maybe next time he can just taste it fresh from the source. That was, if he had any more fun secrets to tell you about.

As someone overwhelmed at the prospect of reparenting myself, where do I start?
I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, I've been using social media very sporadically this year. I have a lot of thoughts on this topic to share that are based on my long and ongoing healing journey.
This is going to be a lot of information about something that's already overwhelming, so I've tried to include advice on how to deal with the overwhelm of it all.
Disclaimer: I'm not a mental health professional. With that in mind, these are what i consider the main aspects:
Physical Reparenting (getting your needs met/asking for help)
Emotional Reparenting (understanding what you're going through)
Finding Other Kids to Play With (making healthy connections) (highlighted because it's the one most personal to me!)
1 - Physical Reparenting: getting your needs met/asking for help
I put this at the top because you need to stay alive in order to heal, and sometimes that's all you can manage. That means feeding yourself and your dependents, cleaning, doing laundry, UGH. Your parents didn't teach you how to do any of that, but other people can. And when you don't have the energy to ask, or you feel too ashamed, you have the internet!
A search engine can help you with even the most basic of topics. How do I brush my teeth? How do I do my laundry? How do I make friends?
Importantly, there is now lots of advice on how to do these things when you're struggling. For example: disposable paper plates and cups mean you don't have to do dishes. There are recipes you can learn so you can get a healthy meal with minimum effort.
I've found reddit great for this, eg: mom for a minute and cleaning tips. I've usually found that you can ask anything, even the most embarrassing thing, and people will either give you advice or direct you to where you can find out more.
You can't learn it all at once: focus on one thing at a time and find something that works. Once you've built the muscle memory for that one thing, you can focus on learning a new thing. That way, over time, you can build up your toolbox and turn your attention to other things. Such as...
2 - Emotional Reparenting: Understanding what you're going through
Often when we're abused or neglected, we lack the language to articulate or even understand what we went through, let alone heal from it. Once you understand what happened to you and why you act the way you do, you can start to figure out how to come back from it. This is where you learn to parent yourself emotionally.
There are lots of resources, so find one that resonates with you. Stick with it till you've got what you need from it, then move onto the next.
Here are some resources I've personally found helpful, based on what form of media you like to consume.
Books: From surviving to thriving by Pete Walker, The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk
Podcast: Respectful Parenting by Janet Lansbury. This is aimed at parents of infants and toddlers, but I'm finding it extremely helpful in being compassionate to myself and others when feelings are running high.
YouTube: Heidi Priebe; The Crappy Childhood Fairy. These two make videos on attachment trauma and various things related to CPTSD. Also on specific issues that crop up in our relationships and daily lives. They also are great for recommending other resources that you might find helpful.
3 - Finding other kids to play with: Making healthy connections
Playing is super important, whatever age you are! So many of us were too busy parenting our parents, or we never had anyone to play with, or we only ever got bullied. It's an essential part of childhood development that we missed in some way. This is something I find distinct about reparenting and treating childhood trauma.
This is hardest part by far, imo, but a vital one. Going to therapy is a great step. Devouring content and learning how to meet your basic needs is essential. But I believe true healing can only take place by establishing and maintaining genuine connections with others. Playing is the perfect way to do that!
Connecting with people is easier said than done, so how the heck do you go about it, you may ask? Keep going, gentle reader, because I have got some tried and tested advice for you!
This is the long one, so skip to the bottom for the tldr.
Mental health support groups are great, but spending all your time talking about how miserable you are can get you stuck ruminating and make you feel even shittier. That's something to be mindful of.
I recommend joining a group activity, like a sport, band, or gaming club.
Ideally something you're passionate about, your hyperfixation, even if it feels cringe. A structured activity gets everyone motivated to meet up regularly (something that's very hard to do for the purpose of just hanging out); all the burden of making conversation is taken off because you can all focus on the task at hand; and you have to practice communicating with one another to make it work.
Connecting with people is scary, and you will make mistakes and get hurt. It's important to keep trying anyway.
You will run into people like you, who are suffering and trying to better themselves. They will act out because they can't help it. They'll flake, they'll ghost, they'll accuse you of being abusive because they can't tell if it's abuse, a genuine mistake, constructive criticism, what have you. They sometimes turn into abusers themselves because they're now in a situation where they can punch down and get away with it. That makes people feel powerful in a way they've never felt before, which is seductive.
You might do any and all of these things, but you can learn to fix your behaviour. You will find people who'll establish appropriate boundaries, support your growth, and you will emerge as a healthier, better person.
The key is to find a peer group that is committed to healing together.
This takes time and experimentation, but you are not alone. You will find people of all ages and walks of life who will walk this path with you. This is what all the resources and books are for: learning to identify how to make connections and build a community that's healthy and supportive. Where you will probably fuck up and hurt each other, but will fight to come back from it and fight to grow together. This is where you will build the healthy, enriching relationships you should've have from the very beginning.
You may need to sever unhealthy connections.
It's extremely painful and difficult to cut off a family member, partner, or friend who's bad for you, and this is a whole topic on its own. However, you can develop a sense of when to stay and when to leave, and even though it's hard and lonely, you will be able to find people who are better for you. That will make it easier to know who to commit to in the long run.
TLDR: Focus on the social thing that brings you the most joy.
It takes a few tries to find out what is the best thing for you. Once this is stable, then you can expand your horizons.
Personal example: For this entire year, my main social focus has been keeping my Dungeons & Dragons groups going. I have two games a week on average, so I get to DM and play. Now that that's stable, I can go back to other friendships, and stuff I neglected (such as social media). The people who are worth it are the people who would never hold it against me for going off the grid for awhile.
I hope this has been helpful!

Your posts and fics about Steve not being a pushover are some of my favorite in this fandom! I was wondering if you had any thoughts or headcanons about how Steve would deal with other members of the older party, instead of the younger party? This is more so in fanon than canon, but people mocking his intelligence or being surprised he's not a douche? Thanks!
Oh!! Thank you so much!!! That really means a lot! I'm always a little nervous when I make another post about Steve's boundaries and how fanon sometimes treats him, so it's a relief to hear people like them haha.
You raise an interesting question! And one I will admit I haven't thought about too much, actually. Most of my posts have been about Steve and Dustin, as that's what I've been thinking about lately, but you're so right that the older teens do it too. LOTS to think about. So fair disclaimer that I'm thinking and writing by the seat of my pants here.
I do just want to start off by saying that fanon is fun! Taking canon apart and disecting it, taking out its parts and figuring out how it works is fun! Diving deep and analysing and comparing what the writers intended vs what they ended up portraying vs what the fans thought. Media analysis baby! But fanon (like canon), can't cater to everyone. I'm just a Steve girlie with a lot of feelings. Not to say canon's exempt, of course. These ideas had to have come from somewhere. And I swear that each season gets a little bit worse at turning Steve into a verbal punching bag. A joke. He was supposed to be Nancy's jerk boyfriend who died, but everyone loved Joe Keery so much they kept him alive. And now they thank him by boiling his character down to a dumb jock who was an asshole. It's tiring.
I remember ages ago there was a post (that I cannot find for the life of me) that pointed out that in season 1 Steve says the word connoisseurs (in the scene with the camera smashing) but if they made him say that in season 4 they would have made Dustin make a comment how he didn't know Steve knew a word with that many syllables or something.
All this insulting Steve, all the canon jokes and fanon characterisation shitting on his interests and his personality and the fact that he decided to be a better person 3 years ago by the time S4 rolls around? Just feels like an excuse to shit on the jock. Revenge of the nerds. But it just makes the nerds look like bullies. Like the Duffers got bullied by jocks when they were kids and now they're making it everyone else's problem.
But to the actual point of this ask! The older party! Below the cut because this got long.
First up is Eddie! With canon Eddie a part of me doesn't think he would make fun of Steve's intelligence or call him a douche post season 4. A big part of Eddie's journey was him getting his whole world turned upside down (pun not intended). With the whole monsters thing, but also with his worldview! He thought he was confident and tough, but realised that he panicked when things got real (which I mean, fair, but that's not what we're talking about). And that he was making assumptions about people based on his own unfair biases! He canonically admits to Steve that he couldn't accept the fact that Steve is a Good Dude and the only reasons he thought he was a douche was that he has rich parents, was popular, and chicks love him. Nothing based on Steve's actions. Him turning around after all that to comment about Steve's intelligence, or bringing up his non existent assholery again just feels like a huge backslide. Doing both their characters a real disservice.
But you mentioned fanon more than canon, and there are absolutely fanon Eddie's out there who would insult Steve like that. And I gotta be honest - I don't think that Steve would take that lying down. Steve absolutely has an angry knee jerk reaction to things during this show. Back in S1, but also in S4 - when he says to Dustin that he was going to punch him so hard his teeth would fall back out. If Eddie, the new dude, decided he was going to be a jerk and insult Steve's intelligence? Steve would absolutely retort that it was fucking rich coming from the guy who failed senior year twice. Which is harsh, but I'd be angry too if I saved this guy's life and he turns around and calls me stupid for it. He'd call Eddie a hypocrite.
One thing I like about Steddie (both platonically, and romantically) is how they're on equal footing. The get along. They respect each other. Stop making Eddie a jerk to Steve for no good reason.
Eddie bringing up he thought Steve was a douche feels better than the other instances because he admits he was wrong!! Willingly! To Steve's face! But any times after? Steve would drop Eddie like a hot potato. He's not going to hang around with someone who's a dick to him for no reason. The fact that they went through the Upside Down together isn't going to make him suffer through it. Like, there's no way Steve hung out with Nancy and Jon after the breakup. No Upside Down monsters could make that less awkward.
Speaking of other instances - Robin. Stobin, my beloved. Sometimes I wonder if people actually like Steve, or if they just put up with him because him and Robin are a special deal. My thoughts on her are a little more all over the place, so bare with.
Is she a jerk to him in Season 3? Yes. But she's also a lonely, angry, teen, holding a grudge against him for no good reason. The only 2 things she says she hated him for were - he ate bagels messily in class, and that he didn't pay attention to the girl she had a crush on. Once again, nothing substantial.
But then they get tortured together, they become best friends. They get a job together again and he drives her to school. Robin canonically is the one to bring up what if they could combine into one person. She cares about Steve! She loves him so much she wants to merge with him!! And yet so much fanon has her acting like Steve is a bad rash she can't get rid of. Insulting him at every chance she gets. I get that friendships have gentle ribbing, teasing and jokes, because you know them and you know where their line in the sand is. But a lot of fanon feels like Robin rubbing salt into the wound. Taking it too far.
How many times does Steve have to apologise for being an asshole when he really wasn't that bad in the first place?
Steve reinforcing his boundaries with aggressive fanon Robin would be more chill than Eddie, I think. More like a conversation. Like, hey, you're my best friend and what you're saying is actually really hurting me? Could you please stop because it really doesn't feel like you want to be my friend since you won't stop insulting my intelligence? Robin isn't just an angry teen on her own anymore, she has a friend and the things she says has an effect. I can see him being more conservative with it than him telling Tommy & Carol that they're assholes. If he loses Robin, he goes back to his only friend being Dustin. But he'd still bring it up. He wouldn't just roll over and take it.
If she didn't listen when he talked to her like an adult? That's when he'd call her out like he did Tommy and Carol. If he can call out his best friends before, he'd do it again. It'd suck, but he needs to put himself first.
Nancy and Jon I'm still thinking about.
Jon doesn't like Steve, doesn't respect him, and canonically says mean things about Steve still, after Steve's done so much to atone, to save and help everyone. That mean joke he makes at the end of S4 about Steve being in charge? Oof.
A part of me can see Steve being like 'who cares what that guy thinks, I know myself'. But I'm afraid I just don't have a lot more on Jon. He's just not a character I'm a big fan of so I'm not as confident with his characterisation.
Nancy however? Nancy would hurt. Steve loved her, cared for her, she was there when he was trying to be better, when he was atoning. (I know that Steve says that Nancy was the bump on the head he needed, but he's wrong. He did it himself. But that's besides the point.). He went with her to the Hollands, he saved her little brother's life, him and all the party. With Billy and then in the tunnels. He opened up to her, she helped him with his college essays. She broke his heart and for her to turn around and comment on his intelligence? to call him a douche? would fucking hurt. Not at the same level as the S2 drunk bathroom bullshit convo, but it would hurt.
A part of me can see Steve doing the whole - pinch the bridge of your nose to hold back the tears and leave - thing like in S2 after the party. But a part of me could see Steve having had the time away from her to say something. But IDK. I'm not too sure on this. If she wasn't going to be mature about their breakup, about the things he told her, wasn't going to respect him and not insult him after all the things she's done? I'd say leave her behind, but I don't know if Steve would. He has a big heart. It might just be easier to take the bittersweet option and quietly let her go. Don't interact.
ANYWAY. OOF. Sorry this got so long, I was thinking and then my brain kind of ran away with me. Hopefully this was the sort of thing you were thinking? It was a fun thought experiment either way!!

Anything You Like (the Jaylos-but-also-polyamory part)
More of my Soulmate AU! This section got wildly out of hand. Like, almost a third of my WIP-document out of hand. Loosely based on the Isle of the Lost book canon, so warning for bullying and terrible parenting.
+
"Get back here!" Jay shouts desperately at the kid disappearing as fast as his skinny legs can carry him, around the corner of the market street and deep into the maze of stalls. "I'm not--"
Not what, his rational, thinking brain offers. Not going to hurt him?
That's a stupid thought. Life on the island is all about hurting people.
Jay hurts people for fun, and for class, and just because there are people in his way and he's finally starting to be one of the bigger, stronger kids who can get away with hurting other people instead of being the one who's hurt all the time. He's done his time as a little kid, and it feels... better to be the one in control, instead of the one who's always running and hiding and trying to avoid the people who want to hurt him. It's not like Jay can really run from his problems, not when they're all stuck on the same shitty island together with adults who want to leave him bleeding or dead or worse, but now that he's bigger, he can start fighting them instead of trying to run all the time.
His soulmate isn't very big yet. Probably not big enough or strong enough to fight off an adult.
Jay is not nice, and he is not kind, and he lives on the Isle of the Lost, so he doesn't, can't, care about other people like he cares about himself. He's not anybody else's top priority, so he's got to be his own number one.
He's already got two soulmates to deal with, and a third one, especially a fast little third one who bites and squirms and has a knife and no sense of when he should use it shouldn't be something Jay is thinking about. He should make the smart choice, and swipe a new pair of gloves to cover the mark, and never think about it again.
Yeah. That would be the smart thing to do.
Conceal it, don't feel it, don't let it show. That's what they do on the mainland when they've got inconvenient feelings, and that's what Jay should do about this new soulmark and the inconvenient, annoying soulmate who comes with it. He should put it somewhere under his gloves, in the back of his mind, and never think about it again.
He’s not going to, but it’s what he should do. Objectively speaking. It’s probably what Mal would tell him to do too, if she knew about this new soulmate.
Jay should tell her. They’re each other’s first real marks. It’s not supposed to mean something on the isle of the lost, but it sometimes does anyway. They’re a villain-and-sidekick duo. Or, on their bad days, sidekick and sidekick. Sometimes everything goes wrong, and neither of them is feeling up to claiming responsibility for a scheme gone sideways, so they call themselves both sidekicks, trying to prop each other up without a proper villain to work around. Two useless lackeys with only each other to command.
A pebble bounces off Jay’s head.
Shit. If he were less lucky, the rock could have been a bottle, or a knife, or—
“Dude!” His soulmate shouts from the rooftop of the shitty cauldron store. The very easily accessible roof of the shitty cauldron store.  “Are you coming up or not?”
Right.
One jump over the stack of third-rate cauldrons, and it’s an easy grab for the crumbling ladder on the side of the building. The momentum makes the ladder creak, but Jay’s been doing this for ages, and he’s not heavy enough to pull it out of the brick yet. He can’t quite get the leverage to do something cool, like backflip up onto the roof, but he can pull with his arms instead of his core, which is stupid and going to hurt later, but it makes his biceps pop.
His soulmate probably doesn’t care what his arms look like. He’s probably some sad nerd who’s never looked at a guy in his life, and it’s just a coincidence that they’re marked for each other. Probably. Anything else would be almost good, and if there’s one kind of thing that never happens on the isle, it’s goodness.
So, coincidence it is.
+
Jay's new soulmate glares at him.  "You wanted to talk?"
It’s probably not the best choice, seeing as the only reason they’re here is because Jay’s soulmate let him catch up, but it’s too fun to mess with him. “You don't?" Jay asks, keeping his face neutral. No point in giving anything away yet. He’s not above having fun with this. “Thought you’d want to get to know each other a bit. Seeing as we’re soulmates and all.”
The kid glares back at him. Jay knows everyone at school, and he knows perfectly well who Carlos DeVil is, but they’ve never actually talked outside of school before.
Actually, they’ve never really talked in school either. Sure, they’ve traded insults in the hall, and done their fair share of shouting at each other in class when Jay gets bored and starts throwing things into their weird science beaker, but they’ve never just…. talked.
It’s weird, actually.
Carlos folds his arms, defensive-like.  "Nothing to talk about. We're soulmarked, yay.” he rolls his eyes, somehow turning the ‘yay’ into the most sarcastic noise the isle’s seen in the last eighteen years. “You're still going to beat me up at school. I'm still gonna--"
He stops, abruptly.
"Gonna what?" Jay asks, fascinated despite himself. "Don't just stop there, man. What're you going to do now?"
Carlos glares harder. "Nothing. Shut up."
Jay is absolutely not going to do that. He's got another soulmate, and he's a fucking nerd, and he was definitely going to say something interesting. "Nope," Jay says cheerfully. His soulmate might be grumpy and nervous right now, but Jay's having a great time now that they're actually talking. "We're soulmarked now, so you've got to tell me. That's the rules."
"We're on the isle. We don't have rules."
"The cosmic rules of the universe. Soulmarks are like the one kind of magic we have over here, dude. Don't ruin the magic for me by saying you don't know the rules."
Carlos looks pissed. "There aren't rules!"
"Nu-uh,” Jay says, letting his voice fall into something light and almost singsong. “There totally are. The rules are that you have to tell me what you're thinking."
"I'm thinking that you're a jerk." Carlos snaps. “And this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever done, and the stupidest thing you’ve ever done, and you should’ve just bought better gloves and never fucking touched me in the first place.”
"Cool.” Jay says brightly. He’s never had someone tell him when they’re thinking honestly before, and it’s sort of intoxicating. He could get used to his kind of thing. “I'm thinking that we should stick together. I'll introduce you to Mal tomorrow, if that's cool?"
"I know who Mal is. Everyone at school knows Mal."
“Nah,” Jay says, not even bothering to hide his smile. He’s definitely going to introduce Carlos to Mal tomorrow, and they’re going to get along like a house on fire, because they’re both assholes.  “You know about Mal. You don't know her. Nobody else really knows her, not like me. And you, cause I'm going to introduce you."
"What if I don't want that?"
He obviously does want it. Nobody at school except for an idiot would turn down an invite to get out of Mal’s bad graces, and Carlos isn’t an idiot. Jay wouldn’t have spent the last sixteen years taking stuff out of his locker if he were dumb, and it’s gonna be great.
"Too bad. I'm introducing you two anyway.” Jay says cheerfully. Having a new soulmate is fun. Having two soulmates has been great for him so far, and it’s going to be even better once they get to know each other too. “Hey, maybe cause we share a mark, you’ll share one with Mal too!”
Carlos mumbles something mostly-inaudible. Jay can’t be sure, but it sounded suspiciously unlike the words “I’m so excited to meet your other soulmate” and a lot more like “if there’s two of them I’m going to fucking kill myself.”
So. That’s a little worrying.
Honesty seems to be the way to go. At least when he’s with Mal, honest questions about the gaps in their plan usually lead to less stabbing of their essential body parts, and more of them stabbing the other guys. So there’s that, and also the refreshingly honest answer he got out of his new soulmate last time, soo….
"What?” Jay asks. He’s still trying to keep his expression normal, but it’s hard to focus on that when there’s so many other things to worry about. Like how he’s going to explain to Mal that they’ve got a new gang member, and how he’s going to drag the two of them into the same space long enough to like each other. Maybe he should treat them both like the feral cats that he caught for his cousin, and lock them in rooms next to each other for a while so they can both shout at him until they get tired and decide it’s better to ally together.
Carlos sighs. It’s almost like Jay’s starting to wear down some of his prickly edges already.  "I said, I don't want to get to know Mal. You two have been tormenting me since kindergarten. Nothing is going to change just because you have a mark on your hand."
Jay taps the new mark with his fingertips before he even realizes he’s doing it. It’s technically on his wrist, not his hand, but it’s going to be hard to hide either way. "You've got one too."
"Yeah, and my mother is going to try and cut it out of me as soon as she finds out,” Carlos says. He’s not glaring anymore, which would be cool if his face hadn’t gone totally blank instead. Like a mask, or like the thing that Evie, the pretty new girl that Mal’s been obsessed with since she showed up to school does with her face when she’s not thinking about it. “It'd be cool if you would stop fucking up all my shit at school, but I don't actually expect you to like, change or anything. We don't have to be anything because of this."
Ouch.  "We don't fuck with that much of your shit."
"You soulmarked me by accident because you were trying to shove my head in a toilet," Carlos says, patiently. He's standing just out of arm's reach, with his back to the open rooftop. They're within easy sprinting distance to three other houses with low roofs, and Jay can count a handful of small, open windows that Carlos could probably dive through without issue, but are small enough that Jay, with his wider shoulders, would have to slow down and slip through more carefully. "I don't think you'd be able to stop fucking up my shit if you tried."
"Hey!"
"Just being honest. And hey, if you want to try, be my guest. I'd love to actually keep some of the shit I make for myself."
There’s a weight in Jay’s pocket that feels a lot like a handmade crossbow pen. And another one in his boot that might be a handful of tiny button batteries, and okay, maybe a third weight shoved in the secret pocket in the back of his vest that’s stuffed full of the wire contraption that he snagged without thinking right after his hand slipped and the soulmark showed up.
It’s not something he’s gonna keep doing now, obviously.
"We do take a lot of your shit, huh.” Jay admits. “I uh, I have some of your stuff. If you want it back.”
Carlos’s face is still blank. "Yeah. I know. And I also know that Auradon psychology textbooks say it's because nobody loves you at home, but it'd be really cool if you could stop taking it out on me."
Ouch. That one lands, and Jay has to work to keep his face blank over the instinctive spike of hurt that wells up in the dark depths of his chest. He's not exactly his dad's favorite person, but there's the other two girls who work in the shop sometimes, and they're friendly enough. Someone to help clean the dust off the junk and swap jokes with while they're handing over their weekly cut of the earnings is almost like having a friend, and Delphine even sticks around to flirt sometimes after her shift ends.
Delphine is nearly thirty, and keeps more knives on her person than Jay's ever managed to slip out of her pockets. She's also sort of scary if he tries to slip out before she's done talking with him, but she pays attention to his new bruises, and she once brought him a cup of stew from the spicier stall two streets down, and didn't even spit in it first. So she's basically the closest thing he's got to a friend at home.
"Mal takes her temper out on everyone," Jay points out, instead of defending his home life. It's the Isle of the Lost. They're all stuck here together with the same shitty parents, and explaining that he's got one person who usually doesn't throw anything at him on the way out the door isn't exactly a resounding defense. "I don't think I could stop her if I tried."
Carlos rolls his eyes. Now that Jay's looking, there's a ring of old bruises around his left eye. "I know. The whole school knows. It wasn't this bad last year, but ever since you two got dumped by Uma's pirate crew, or whatever–"
"We broke it off with them."
"Or whatever,” Carlos repeats, rolling his eyes again. “It's not like it makes a difference what actually happened. She's been kind of a raging bitch since then."
Jay lifts an eyebrow, partially at the language choice, and partially because he’s sort of being thrown for a loop here. Everyone wants to meet Mal, and he’s not really sure if he’s got anything to offer outside of his connection with her.
“Yeah, well,” he tries. “I bet if she had another soulmate, she’d probably be a lot less…”
“Bitchy?”
“I was gonna say irritable. Look, we lost half our crew when we dumped Uma’s gang–”
“When they dumped you,” Carlos whispers.
Jay shoots him a look. “Whatever. When we broke up, we lost a lot of our crew. And it’s not like we’re having trouble keeping things under control on our own, but we wouldn’t turn down company, if you’re interested. We have a hideout and everything. You could come and stay the night, if you want. Just to try it out.”
There’s a flicker of interest in his soulmate’s face.
“I guess,” Carlos says slowly. “If you’re offering, it would be not the worst thing to get out of my mom’s house for a night.”
Bingo.
“We’re offering.” Jay says, before he can think twice about the offer. He’ll lock Mal in their storage room, keep her out of the way until he’s got his new soulmate acclimated to the place. “Come on, if we go now we can make it home before Mal gets there, and you can give her the scare of her fuckin’ life.”
There’s a tiny hint of what might be a smile on Carlos’s face. “Sounds fun.”
It’s a risk, but they’re doing so well now that he can’t resist.
Jay holds out a hand. “Come on. Let me show you the way.”
Carlos takes it. “Lead on, I guess.”

One Piece Shows Even If You Topple The Celestial Dragons There Could Be Other Types Of Tyrants To Take Their Place
Tumblr media
As One Piece shows in the series, the world is under a dictatorship that is run by a tyrannical king who is hinted to be hundreds of years old and hides in the shadows so no one really knows that there is really a true ruler with puppet agents following his orders. All under the rule of Imu through the world government we see systematic oppression and authoritarian practices seen as normal by the people of the world or weakly excused as a price to pay to have any sort of peace. And the emphasis in the story is that this is an unfair system and that one day they will finally topple. However, despite all of this I do think there is another theme that comes with how tyranny stinks.
Tumblr media
It's the fact that who can replace a corrupt system if it was finally out of power. When you look at the pirate side you see many figures like Kaido and Big Mom who are offered as an alternative authority for people who seek protection. Despite the fact they themselves are in conflict with the world government, it doesn't mean they would bring the dawn to the world and end the darkness.
Tumblr media
First we have Big Mom who espouses equality and peace among all people and lets her subjects eat in a land of plenty. However, despite her claims of being a kind, just ruler the reality is more bittersweet on the surface. Big Mom at heart is an overgrown child who never truly grew up and as a result she has a self-centered view of things where everything she does is good and those who don't obey her are bad. As a result, she endorses ruthless methods to get people to comply what she wants like forcing them join her tea parties or have a loved one killed. Or the fact that those who try to leave her crew have to give up their life or appendage like the case with Pedro. There is the most galling fact that she makes the population give a portion of their lifespan to fuel the homies that litter the land or make them be exiled. It's really is a deal with the devil where everything seems grand on surface, but it's really shitty underneath the surface. It has the face of kindness but the hands of a tyrant that strangles you if you don't do what you claim. It's barely better than what the world currently has where the world nobles are overgrown royal brats who demand everyone cater to their needs and never return the favor.
Tumblr media
Interesting enough Kaido as well speaks about equality and merit for all based on strength. Unlike Big Mom, he doesn't emphasize peace but war and thinks it's the true equalizer and endorses anarchism. However, as seen in Wano this also leads to a form of tyranny through might makes right. Those who are stronger can easily overpower those who are weaker. This as as a result leads to just as much of a world of bullies like the World Nobles who trample everyone they think as inferior and exploit those who can't fight back. It would be just another world where the weak have no voice and they will always be trampled by the ruling class. In this case, it would be the warrior class instead of the noble class who wouldn't act any different. The world would know no peace and everyone would be fear for their lives like in Wano under his 20 year rule. It is why he doesn't become the new joyboy because he becomes another tyrant that stamp on the freedoms of others while saying he is bringing up equality.
Tumblr media
And that is where Luffy comes into the picture because unlike those other two he's actually someone who liberates whoever he goes without conditions or drawbacks. Even though Luffy never intended to be a hero, he always manages to still make the world a better place because when he sees injustice he knows and emphasizes with the suffering people go through. He might not do it out of selfless heroism but he does show gratefulness by returning a small favor by liberating them from whatever oppressor a new friend is under. Luffy ultimately is the perfect counterpart to those who would be just as bad as the government if they were truly in charge. It is for that reason he's the new Joyboy because he understands the importance of freedom and that someone who doesn't undrestand that is no different than the world government.

a- whole gush pass? all for little ol' me?????
*grabs papers*
Tumblr media
ok soooooo a whole essay about NOS4a2 and why he matters to me sm as a f/o ever k so, starting off. what makes him special design wise?
first of all, his whole design is sharp and edgy(literally.lotta edges). each end is pointy and sharp . lotta triangles used in his design. but despite that there's something interesting about how he has a cape (something usually made out of soft fabrics) as a cover, but even so the sharpness REMAINS. something else is how he has like two different eyes, which one of them is a monocle which is slay idk lol. also something else is how he's not like- he doesnt look strong physically at first sight even tho he's trully capable of being so . also fangs; LITERAL energy vampire, it's so cool as a concept.
ok personality wise:
most of the times he's on scene, it's always this very classic "muahahaha evil" kinda deal, he's silly af. geniunely enjoying it . he keeps on making stupid unfunny jokes all the time and he laughs at his own stupid jokes lol. idk i think it's cute and sillly waaaaaaaaaaaaa BUT! he's capabe of being TRULY TERRIFYING (like half the robotic gore in BLOSC is caused by him lol, also his plan in ROTM was dark af) it's even more interesting cuz his motivations are simply, yes being in charge as a SECOND need. the FIRST need is mainly to feed on robots. SENTIENT ROBOTS. LIKE HE D O E S WANT TO FEEL THE THRILL OF THE KILL. HE COULD JUST DRAIN from lifeless machines, but he'd rather HUNT and play with his food, if you will. it's just very interesting.
now, SPECIFICALLY WHY do I like Nos and why is he so important to me?
so in general i was/still am a villain apologist ok? i always loved villains, no matter how evil they were. it sortz felt really comforting. but something about Nos specifically felt very special . possibly the fact that the first episode i watched in general was Revenge of the monsters (aka the climax of his character in everyway) .so basically my first impression was based on seeing him in his best if u know what i mean . like if it was any other episode things would've gone differently but that's not the case as you see. like ROTM is like this whole bigger climax yk? say, if it was another episode there's a high chance zurg could've been my fav character but boy he literally ran like a coward in ROTM so i just didnt care much cuz he wasnt in the ep as much as NOS. like yea in an alternate reality it could've been Zurg but NUH UH . Nos it is. also the fact that ROTM is like, as i said, sorta sums up his whole character in a great way . so when I watch that episode i IMMEDIATLY got attached especially when my introduction to the series is this. both his ultimate downfall and like .. the top of his character arc . like, INSTANT attachement. another thing to note is how like … the whole episodes sorta focused on his turning every Z to an N .
ok here i might start expalining things abit too personally here but ok it's an essay . ok so the circumstances of me watching the show for the first time were…something. see i didn't have much friends back then as a kid. even the ones i had were pretty much SO different and can't understand me cuz im that shy, weird kid who goes on info dumping about my interests it might get annoying. but nobody understood those interests except ONE friend. whom just left and idk where he is till now. another thing to add, being the weird kid sorta let people exclude me and/or bully me soooo yeah .
so my putting that into prespective with the whole Ns all over the place thing in that specific episode sort of.. made me relate ya know? feel like it's specifically an episode for me . there was something nice and comforting about it. the fact that it's the first letter of my name (which at the time was a big deal cuz all my favs didnt specifically put that fact into like, part of the story like Nos if u get me.) like, something about a villain i KNOW has the first same letter in their name as me, being all goofy yet menacing, also a vampire of sort -i am obsessed since day one idk) just felt right.
last part of this might sound silly or stupid but like . another reason WHY i felt this connection to Nos specifically till now :
people i know irl did NOT know what blosc was. even the few who knew, don't remember it or specifically know who Nos was when i asked them. so it's like "damn. all this epic character being so obscure and unknown despite everything they did?…sounds like me " so until i went online and find more blosc mutuals (and till i went to Uni where people know it somewhat and still take show suggestions seriously from me) it just felt like this one character was specificaly made for me . like, this one character nobody knows except me . cuz i'm just as unknown and as unnoticed irl .
conclusion:
and to this day that still stands . Nos is still one of the turning points in my life in general. be it in art , in social life , or in general anyways. still my favourite fictional character of all time . my Top 1 fav and my main comfort character along Antasma and Zira for similar reasons.
thank you for coming to my cringe talk btw and reading all this lol.
