I love the labyrinth bc it’s a fantasy coming of age story about growing up and the main character says “goodbye” to all the whimsical creatures she made friends with on her journey. but then the last scene is like SIKE dance party with them all in her room!!!!! bc growing up doesn’t mean forfeiting fun or losing the wonder of your childhood

They're cousins.
For real tho, I know the Sandman fandom acknowledges (or used to) the similarities between Jareth the Goblin King and Dream of the Endless and how they're very nearly visual positive/negative contrasts and I think we should bring that back.

I know for a fact Jareth’s room is fucking messy, it’s messy in a Howl Pendragon way but also if like rococo period lace and drapery threw up everywhere as well as like some shiny things and glitter. It’s like a 18th century prince bachelor pad.
There’s lit candles everywhere where it’s probably a serious fire hazard, he has a writing desk filled with half finished letters and paperwork and ink-splatted paper, quills, and inkwells. He’s both too lazy and too entitled to really clean or organize anything. There’s a bunch of broken furniture and shit in a corner collecting cobwebs and he won’t throw it away or anything. you cannot see the floor.

Secret Garden - Jareth x Reader
Warnings - kind of dark Jareth, kidnapping, angst, fluff
He watched her pout, he watched her cry, as she sits in the gardens. A spot made just for her, he scowled at the crystal. setting it down with a sigh. He looks toward his court the goblins all drink and laugh oblivious to the angry king.
she sighed as she hugged her knees, admiring the hedges. Her mind fogged, as the knowing feeling of forget eating at her. She knows she is forgetting something. She knows she is missing something, but she can't figure out what it is.
A necklace was placed around her neck gently, she flinches in his arms. He leans down and whispers his voice like silk. "Do not worry my dear, just a something I thought you would enjoy." She looks down and a delicate chain with a single opal blesses her neck. She turns to him with furrowed brows.
"I don't understand," she mumbled turning to meet his eyes. Hers, light, curious, fearful. His dark, mysterious, daunting. "What don't you understand? Don't you like my little gift."
"No, I do it's just I don't understand, why?"
"Why?"
"Why I'm here. Why am I here?" Her brows furrow her memory slowly coming back. She looks toward the ground her eyes widen slowly as she realizes. "I don't belong here, I was, was supposed to go home." She mumbles to herself, and his eyes narrow watching her intently. He nodded and stood walking around the gardens admiring. She watched him in shock. "You took me!"
He stopped picking a bright colored flower and sitting next to her. She tried to move away but he put his hand on her thigh. He smelled the flower with a small smile. Her heart has never beat so fast. "Take, my darling is such a cruel word."
He tucks the hair behind her ear, sticking the flower behind her ear as well. "I would rather choose the word saved myself. You see, you are just like that flower. Once a bud, closed off, shielded from the world. Now you're a beautiful flower. Admired by all!" Tries to speak, to yell but she can't get the words out.
He stands turning away from her, his golden cape cascading down. "You however weren't in the proper garden. You were unappreciated. Unloved. Here you are a queen. You are everything. I do not understand why I keep having to remind you." He mumbled focusing on his crystal.
He turns back to her and kneels down taking her cheek in his hand. "Now worries however, I will make sure that you will stay in the garden." He forces her face down kissing it passionately her mind fogs away, artificial butterflies fly in her stomach. She tries to push him away, but soon she wraps her hands around his neck, and he smiles in the kiss. Triumphantly, knowing that he has control over his darling rose once more.
She pulls away looking around, "Jareth, when did we come here?" She asked innocently, "you fell my darling petal, and fell unconscious. I was so distraught that when you woke, I could not help myself I had to savor you."
She nods leaning her head down in the crook of his neck. He holds her protectively, tightly. "Jareth? Can we go home, I am getting cold." He smiled as he kissed her hair, "of course me precious."

Dionysus watching Clarisse nurse Chris back to health after he went crazy in the Labyrinth: I think I’ve seen this film before.
Chiron: And you didn’t like the ending?
Dionysus: What? No, I’m still married, aren’t I?
XXX
Dionysus watching Clarisse kill the Drakon and parade it’s skin around after it killed Silena, who ran into battle in Clarisse’s armor:
If I had a nickel for every time that girl was in a relationship that paralleled a famous Ancient Greek couple spectacularly, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
