And now... the moment you've all been waiting for (or not, which is fine)! Let's talk Brawl Talk because OH BOY am I excited.
Tumblr media
This is gonna be a pretty long post, so bear with me! I'll go over one section at a time and go over what I liked and disliked. Spoilers ahead! If you haven't watched the latest Brawl Talk, go do so! One more reminder, these are just my thoughts! You don't have to agree with me!
Without further to do... let's talk!
New Brawlers (Angelo and Melodie)
Tumblr media
Now, when I first saw Angelo, I immediately went, "HE'S UGLY LMAO." After getting used to him, though, he's actually not that bad. His design is really good and is somewhat of an anti-cupid (perfect for a gal like Willow). Also, his voice actor did such a good job so much energy was put into him.
He doesn't seem like he's gonna be incredibly busted, but he is gonna be good in the right hands (while I'm at it pay your respects to Mortis Mains ya'll, they just took a major l with this guy). Sorry Larry and Lawrie, but you two are gonna have to step aside, I NEED this man as much as I need the next brawler.
Tumblr media
I. LOVE. MELODIE!!! I did think she was a League of Legends character at first, lol.
Apparently, I've heard people say she is the first female assassin, which is very interesting! Out of the two, I feel she poses more of a threat. She might be broken, though her main attack is WEAK.
I've been through the Reddit and have seen so many people talk about how she looks like Janet, and I'd like to take the time to bring up a little theory... what if she was Janet and Bonnie's mom? I would go into this further, but we have to keep going!
Overall, I really like these two! Their designs are really good, and the character designers did a great job! Their pins and profile pictures show SO much personality! Expect some art of these two soon! However, if I may say something, I wish their skins were cooler. Why couldn't Angelo have a Sands of Time skin too? 😭
Speaking of Sands of Time...
Sands of Time and Ragnorok + Skins
Out of both seasons, I'm very hyped for Sands of Time. The "Sands of Time" is a very interesting concept that can be used very creatively. Can't wait to see what the animation brings! Though I think we all know why I'm hyped...
Tumblr media
My best guest was that this skin was gonna be a Epic/Mythic skin, but a LEGENDARY?????? WHAT?????? Chuck fans we just fucking WON. I've seen the sneak peaks and heard his voice lines, Nicolai did an INCREDIBLE job as always. I'm am SO READY to go broke for this skin, but first, I must purchase some seasonal skins since they've been on my agenda for a while.
Tumblr media
Loki Chester has to be the one I'm looking forward to getting the most for the Ragnorok seasons/skins. Plus, it's free! (If you have good luck).
Side note and honorable mention, Thor Bibi was just the icing on the cake for Bibi Mains this update. While I feel like a few more details could be added for this skin to make in truly "legendary," everything else about it great, including the voice acting! Poor Bull, he's the only one in his yet to get a Legendary Skin.
Ranked and The Report System
Okay, not related, but I love how they disses on the community a bit in this section, LOL. They know what, at least Reddit and Twitter are doing (and let's keep it that way, they don't need to know what's going on over here lol).
Anyways, while I'm excited (and scared) for Ranked with modifiers I wanna take this time to talk about a concern... the report system...
Tumblr media
Now, I know there's a reason why we have 10 reports; but what's gonna stop so angry guy from reporting me if I didn't do anything? I feel like there's a chance this could backfire, that's all.
Hypercharges and Balance Changes
No Mortis or Poco hypercharge :(
Cordelius was definitely unexpected and very scary. Getting slowed in the shadow realm is a death sentence.
I wish Belle got a little more this update, but I'll take the hypercharge.
Move over Charlie, there's a new spider person in town, and he's a DINOSAUR.
Onto to balance changes. 84???? GOD DAMN. Adrien wasn't fucking around this update. Edgar is dead (and rightfully so FUCK HIM) and Doug might actually stand a chance in this Meta. I'll miss the days when Hypercharges were game breaking just for the community's rage, but it's probably for the greater good.
Whatever the Fuck the Random Skins Were
Now Primo Shark, I can take (though I'm definitely not gonna be able to take Baby Shark as a in game theme, I'm muting music for that entire time period). Pitcher Fang is a good skin too. Squeaky note is very... meh, but it's a rare skin so you can't expect much.
BUT POOP SPIKE.
POOP SPIKE.
What
the
FUCK?
It was tolerable until I saw the losing animation, and to that, I say EWWWWWWWWWW 🤮🤮🤮. WHYYYYY!?!?!? THAT'S SO NASTY!!!
I get that this is an April Fool's skin, but WHYYY THAT??? Thank GOD this skin is expensive. If I catch any of you with this skin, I'm gonna need to ask if you're okay. I don't wanna show a picture of this skin to you all, or else I'm pretty sure Tumblr would kick me to the curve. This is easily what I was least excited for for this update.
Overall Rating and Final Thoughts
Now, it's time to throw the final ratings on screen and say anything else that's on my mind.
New Brawlers - 9.5/10, definitely getting both! Let's hope they get some cool skins soon!
Sands of Time - 7/10, the concept and Chuck carry this season don't fight me on this. /j
Ragnorok - 6.5/10, I'm not as hyped, but I will grind for that Chester skin!
Ranked - 8/10, now I have a reason to actually play this mode. Hopefully, the report system is fair enough...
Hypercharges - 6.5/10, again not as hype, but I will be snatching that Belle Hypercharge since she's the only one out of the 6 I maxed out. She deserved more, though. :(
Balance Changes - 10/10, bye Edgar begone. F for the twins, however; I liked them.
Random Stuff - 3/10, not even Pitched Fang can save us from whatever the devs were on.
Overall Season 24/25 is...
8/10! (Poop Spike ruined it >:( )
And that's it. For those who have read to the end, thank you so much for heating me ramble it means so much. Expect some headcanons and more little theories soon (as in some time this week). Until then, ciao!

Thor: Love and Thunder - an enjoyable but ultimately disappointing experience
So a bout of Covid put me a week late in catching up with Thor: Love and Thunder. Having read the reviews and reactions, I had tempered my expectations to something reasonable after being initially very excited with the Ragnarok team coming back for another Thor movie. But still, I had decent sized expectations because I have had a higher opinion of some of the Phase 4 films than some. I quite liked DS2. I thought it felt fresh and different. Taika hasn't put a foot wrong in the last several years, with Jojo Rabbit being a masterpiece imo. I really liked Ragnarok and thought it was easily the best of the Thor movies. However, I did feel a sense that Taika is the sort to go for the joke when in a decision to play a moment straight and get the dramatic emotion vs undercutting it to elicit a laugh, he would always go for the latter, to the movie's detriment. That is one of the reasons that I had some issue with GOTG2 as well. Unfortunately, Thor: Love and Thunder definitely falls into that flaw.
Without getting into deep spoilers, the flaws in Love and Thunder basically fall into two categories. One is lack of screen time and one is tonal inconsistency. Love and Thunder might be the lightest movie tonally in the MCU in recent times. Certainly the lightest in Phase 4. However, it is a movie also dealing with Jane dying with Stage 4 cancer and of a villain butchering Gods, who is reacting from the grief of losing his daughter and the apathy of the gods to his plight. Both of these stories have potential to be heartwrenching in their own ways, but neither is given the screen time it deserves. Part of that genuinely feels like Taika doesn't know how to incorporate these serious storylines into the lighthearted romp that he wants, but this is the same man who managed to tell stories of Nazi Germany with bittersweet humor. Somehow he never seems to be able to juggle the tones here. Jane's cancer is given token treatment. As in, it is shown as little as possible to tell the audience that this is something that is happening, and the rest of the time it is something that fades into the background until it becomes important. The Gorr the God Butcher issue is possibly even worse handled, because we literally see only one god die on screen. Everything else about what Gorr has been doing is told to us is via 3rd party. Its a particularly odd way to deal with a villain played by one of the best working actors today who is giving it his all. If there was a definition of an actor being too good for the role he's in and massively elevating an underwritten role, it is Christian Bale as Gorr.
On top of this, Taika needs to learn the act of restraint when it comes to a joke. There are several occurrences of a joke which is played one two many times. The screaming goats, for example, is pretty funny when they first appear and the first few times. But by the end it does start to get annoying. Same with the love triangle with Thor, Stormbreaker, and Mjonir. Its a joke that is funny the first couple of times but the film revisits the joke too many times. There are jokes rehashed from Ragnorok, like the skit played by well known actors, which is just not that funny the second time around, or scenes which should have been played straight for emotional impact, like Thor reuniting with Sif. Additionally, a lot of whether you feel the substance of this movie depends on whether you care for the Thor and Jane relationship. Unfortunately, while this film does a better job than either Thor or Thor: TDW with that relationship, it still doesn't change the fact that the two actors really don't have much chemistry together and thus its really hard to care about their romance. There are very important character beats and power abilities that are very important in this film that really come from nowhere.
Obviously, not everything is bad. The humor works for the most part. The action is excellent and the last act is pretty good. The entire section in Omnipotence City is gold with Russell Crowe having a scene stealing presence. The actors are all game, if not particularly challenged. Chris Hemsworth is at ease when asked to play this comedic version of the character. But I can't help but feel that the full range of the character already got explored between Ragnarok to Endgame. Natalie Portman is the most engaged she has been in the role, but you feel she could have done more if she had the material. Tessa Thompson is great, though again a bit wasted and not given much of an arc. Taika himself is there as Korg and is a hoot. Christian Bale is the clear standout for me even though he has just 5 scenes. He seems to be operating in a different movie at times, because he's clearly committing to the creep factor of the character and it really bums me out that he's so underwritten because he had everything required to be a top tier MCU villain. His scenes are what you remember the most.
In the end, this isn't a terrible movie, but honestly, this feels like a rather unsubstantial movie, even within the context of the Thor franchise. The first Thor was incredibly important in the setup to the Avengers, Thor: TDW, for all its flaws, ended up being an important chapter in the Infinity Saga and introduced the reality stone and was revisited in Endgame, and Ragnarok changed the status quo of Thor and Asgard quite massively. This film doesn't feel like it really changes or introduces anything in the MCU. I'll like to see again and see if I like it more the second time around. Right now, its like a 5.5-6/10

Review of Thor: Love and Thunder
Spoilers below!
first of all, keep in mind this is based on one viewing that I just did so I probably missed some stuff
the trigger warnings: major character dies of cancer, scene depicting hanging, scene depicting severed limb
The good :
the CINEMATOGRAPHY. Omg the movie was BEAUTIFUL which is expected because Marvel but goddamn the lighting is amazing, and there's a scene where they're in black and white and its so cool
Its still very much 80 rock and roll! Lots of Guns n Roses, the music is banging
The movie is very funny, once again as expected. The humor is similar to Ragnorok
I did enjoy that they gave Jane more agency; at the end she is given total control over her own health and treatment, and chooses to have "one last adventure" rather than remaining in treatment and having the chance to live. I'm not terminally ill myself, but based on my experience with family members that were and also chose to forgo the possibility of living longer to enjoy the time they've got, this is a thing that resonated with me.
Thor adopts a child at the end and I do hope they continue down this route because he seems like a genuinely well written model for fatherhood
Korg is back! :D
The bad:
The movie once again focuses on Thor and Jane's relationship and they get back together kinda?? And then she dies at the end and its supposed to be this message of choosing love over revenge and it just didn't really hit for me. This may just be a me thing tho, since I never found their relationship and marvel relationships in general very compelling. The message didn't really feel earned because I didn't feel like I was really ever shown that they loved each other, the movie just told me and I was supposed to go along with it
The pacing felt a bit odd to me as well. There were several places where I felt as if there wasn't enough buildup to events (such as Jane becoming Mighty Thor, or the aforementioned romance)
The antagonist is once again the parent of a dead child which like. I was fine with in Dr Strange because we also got the story of Wanda and therefore I felt like she wasn't meant to be seen as evil ever, but rather that movie as a whole was an exploration of grief and the possibility of what might have been and Stephan and Wanda were narrative foils through their grief (which. i also have thoughts tm about Christine but that's not relevant rn lmao) . However in this movie this guy's just straight up evil and massacres people because the god he believes in left his daughter to die so he's sworn to kill all the gods AND massacre their followers apparently??
Don't go into this movie expecting representation. This is a massive queerbait; the most we get is a background lesbian couple (which idk if they're even a couple bc they're implied to have kids together I think? and nothing else), Valkyrie kisses a nameless woman on the hand once, Valkyrie and Korg have a discussion about Korg's dads and Valkyrie's alcoholism due to her dead girlfriend, and then Korg gets a boyfriend?? a mate?? at the end and they have a son via rock people breeding habits? Don't go into this movie expecting anything because you're not gonna get it
conclusion: I enjoyed this movie, though that may have been because I went in with no expectations. Def not one of my top 3 mcu films and def not as good as Ragnarok. However, if you want a light turn-off-your-brain fun film it's great! I'm very sad that Mighty Thor isn't a reoccurring character, but contracts and all that so I get it. I wish Marvel would stop putting romances as the central focus of their plots- they're not good at writing them and they're not compelling.
Rating: 6.5/10 - solid watch to have some fun and marvel (lol) at the cinematography, but nothing game-changing or perspective altering in the writing department

What is Fenris: Savior?
Fenris: Savior is a movie that I have created. The movie aims to fill in a gap between Thor: Ragnorok and Avengers: Infinity War, giving Loki a real shot at redemption, and introducing a new character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will, hopefully, create new possibilities for the multiverse that we know and love.
But unnamed creator, I hear you asking, don't Thor: Ragnorok and Avengers: Infinity War take place right after each other?
I hear you. And I say: Whatever. There is retconning to be done, fun to be had, and a character to build.
The Pitch:
We all know Loki's story. The second Prince of Asgard, the rightful King of Jotunheim, the God of Mischief, the God of Lies.
But what if there was one lie that he never stopped telling? A question that he never answered? An heir to Loki's metaphorical throne?
What if the Fenris that fell off of Asgard was an illusion?
Masterlist
This portion of my masterpost will include everything that I have currently done. Scenes from the script won't be included - spoilers and all that - but I have character notes, analysis, plans that I would like to share. Things that I want feedback on. Obviously, it's far from finished, but I'm working on it.
Let's get started.

Asgardian Reunion.
Tumblr media
Request: Can I request a Loki x reader where they have a daughter and everything goes down hill during Ragnarok? Oh and maybe the daughter is like six or seven years old
Pairing: Loki x Reader | Word Count: 1,207 | Warnings: Grief/Loss
You crushed your daughter’s sleeping form tight against your body as tears stream down your cheeks and fell onto hers.
How had this happened you asked yourself? Life on Asgard had never been relatively easy but in recent years tragedy seemed to befall the once peaceful realm more often than rain. Most of Asgard’s residents would say that the misfortunes started after Thor’s banishment but you, on the other hand, thought it had all begun with your mother-in-law Frigga’s death.
Loki had taken his mother’s passing harder than even the King but your daughter, Leila, had taken it far worse. In fact, you hadn’t seen a smile grace your child’s face since her dear grandmother’s passing. You could handle grief and so could your husband and his family but Leila… She was a child. And how does one go about explaining grief to a child?
Your family had put aside their differences for Leila’s sake, rallying around her in her time of grief and just when you were sure you were making some sort of progress this happens! You cried harder, bystanders watching you with mixed expressions. Let them watch, you decided. Let the people of Asgard see their princess mourn the death of her family and the impending destruction of her homeland whilst her daughter lay sleeping in her arms. You didn’t care anymore. Your home was on the cusp of destruction and according to Hela, you would be raising your only child alone from now on.
Heimdall came up to you crouching down on his knees before you, dipping in an awkward bow. You almost smirked. He was bowing to you but it was he who had risked his life breaking into the palace to not only steal the Bi-frost sword right from under Hela’s nose but also whisk you and your daughter and countless others to the safety of this very stronghold.
“Princess.”
“Heimdall,” you sniffed. “I can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done. Asgard is indebted to you and so am I.”
He offered you a small sympathetic smile. “You need not thank me, Princess. It is my life’s calling to serve the throne.”
The seer pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and offered it to you. You took it from him, whispering your thanks.
“Anytime.”
You dabbed your face dry, sniffing again while your daughter stirred in her sleep.
“Don’t cry, Princess. Everything will be alright. You’ll see.”
You shook your head. “No. Nothing is alright Heimdall. The entire realm is on the brink of destruction, Odin is dead, Frigga is dead, my brother-in-law is dead, and so is my husband and it’s all because of that witch,” you spat. “I can raise this child by myself if I have to Heimdall but I don’t want to. Hasn’t she lost enough? Haven’t we all lost enough?”
“That’s what I came over here to tell you about, Princess. The Princes are alive.”
Your entire body went cold from the shock of his words. “What?” you gasped.
“The princes, Thor, Loki. They are alive. And they are coming Asgard’s aid as fast as they can.”
New tears fell from your eyes but this time they were tears of relief.
Leila sat up in your lap, her eyes like her father’s and soft red from sleep. “Daddy’s alive? And Uncle Thor?”
“Indeed,” Heimdall confirmed.
Leila turned to beam at you, the first smile you’d seen on her face in years.
X
Everything had been going fine. You and your fellow Asgardians had been so close to freedom you could have probably grazed it with your fingertips if you’d reached out far enough. And then Hela’s giant wolf dog showed up, with its narrow green eyes and pearly white gleaming teeth bared in a snarl.
Heimdall had yelled at you all to go back but behind you was an even worse fate: Hela’s executioner, Skurge, stood poised in front of Hela’s snarling army of the undead. And perhaps your eyes deceived you but the executioner appeared almost…sorrowful. But still, you unsheathed the sword at your hip pulling Leila closer as she whimpered into your side.
A brawl erupted on both sides. And an unfamiliar ship appeared overhead pelting the wolf with bullets that did little to no damage. And then as the wolf continued to charge some little guy that no one seemed to know jumped from the ship before the wolf’s feet before turning into a really big green guy who took on the wolf with wild fury. In fact, he sounded a lot like the ferocious ‘Hulk’ your husband mentioned after his ‘excursion’ on earth. It was confusing but you didn’t have time to dwell on it. In addition to keeping your daughter safe a handful of children big and small flocked to you as you fought back the undead soldiers, slicing through them like butter with your gleaming blade. You struggled to lead them to safety only there was no place safe enough for them. It was a bridge. There was nowhere to take cover, nowhere to hide and nowhere to—
“YOUR SAVIOR IS HERE!”
You rolled your eyes at the sudden familiar voice but your smile was so wide that your cheeks were beginning to ache.
“Daddy!” Leila squealed, bouncing up and down. “Heimdall was right, Mommy! Daddy is alive. He’s here!” she yelled.
Your heart pounded in your chest as your husband, alive and well, descended the ship ordering everyone to board immediately. He paused to speak to Heimdall and in an instant your eyes met. His face went slack with relief.
Loki rushed over to you smoothly taking out a startlingly large group of Hela’s soldiers on the way.
Leila rushed into her father’s open arms, squealing his name and running her fingers through his black and wavy mane of hair. He scooped her up in his arms amidst the chaos kissing her cheeks and telling her how much he missed her. Loki closed the distance between you two. With your daughter still clinging to him like she would never let go his eyes were on you, raking his eyes over your body with relief, joy, and hunger.
Finally, he engulfed you in his embrace, kissing your lips.
“Eww,” the children whined in unison.
You laughed, gently touching your fingertips to his cool cheeks, lips, and eyelids, and ran your hand through his hair. “I missed you so,” you murmured.
“And I you. There were moments when I thought I would never see you again and right now while I would love to hug you and our daughter close to me and never release but we’re in the middle of a war. So I need you, our daughter and all of these children and any other Asgardians you can gather on that ship. Right. Now.”
You pursed your lips and clutched your sword tighter in your hand. After all this time spent thinking that your entire family dead you wanted nothing more than to stand here and take out as many of those things as possible. And then you looked into your daughter’s eyes and knew that she needed you. These children still clinging to the hem of your gold and night black tunic needed you. Asgard needed you.

I know she’s the goddess of death and all but… I got the idea in my head of Hela being the cool-bad-influence older sister. Loki somehow takes after the eldest child the most.
(Did Odin see his son’s choice in color schemes and not get at all alarmed??)
