Notes: For once, this is not a repost for this challenge…technically. I did write a response to the prompt "Mr. Right" ages ago, but when I was reposting, I decided that the Now You See Me one shot I wrote really wasn't worth keeping. Someone on Tumblr asked me for a Spock one shot, so I slipped him in as a replacement.
It's been a really long time since I finished something new. I realize that I am rusty. This is actually several drafts into attempts to write this one shot. For the first time ever, I actually cannibalized previous drafts while trying to get the meandering dialogue and point back on track. It still doesn't feel quite "right" to me, but it's probably going to take some time before I get back in the swing of things, and I'm ready to let this one go.
Mr. Right
Throughout Terra's history, human beings had sought the comfort of white noise. Quiet droning sounds proved beneficial for many aspects of mental health in the species. As a counselor on board the U.S.S. Enterprise, you'd recommended listening to white noise to dozens of fellow crewmates and patients alike. The best way to do this in the deep space you'd all been exploring for nearly five years was to turn everything in one's quarters down until the low hum of the ship's warp drive became audible. Many of those crewmates and patients reported back to you with decreased stress levels, improved mood, and a distinct uptick in ability to concentrate. Almost all of them said they got better sleep.
Now you learned that every single one of them had lied to you.
You'd spent the better part of the evening-adjacent hours lying face-down on your sofa, trying and failing to take a nap. The scratchy, standard-issue pillow beneath your face was soaked with tears. Your chest ached. Worst of all, any attempt on your part to get your mind off what upset you just ended with you crying harder. All the while, that awful rumble went on and on and on and on relentlessly, allowing you no respite long enough to drift off and forget your current predicament.
A chime cut through your misery. You paused without so much as lifting your head. As of three hours prior, you were officially off duty for the day. Nothing required you to answer the door unless an order came down from a superior officer, and they would call first. Probably it was only Uhura coming by to check on you. Having been through her own breakup during this voyage, surely she would understand when you didn't let her inside.
The chime sounded again, and with it came a surge of possibilities flooding your mind. What if your visitor was dealing with a crisis? Cases of PTSD had been on the rise since the events on Altamid. You could hardly ignore that in favor of your own small, personal crisis. Off duty or not, your role as a ship's counselor would not allow you to wallow in self-pity when someone might need your help.
As your boots hit the floor, you pressed one sleeve of your rumpled blue uniform to the corner of each eye. The gesture wouldn't do much to disguise what you'd been doing over the course of your time off, but you felt a little steadier afterward. Breathing deeply in and out helped too—until you hiccuped. But you could prepare yourself no more. Squaring your shoulders, you stood, walked over to the door leading to the corridor, and opened it.
Just outside stood the familiar, lanky figure of the ship's science officer. The second you spotted him, you wiped your sleeve across your face with greater urgency.
"You're not one of my patients," you said, "or Uhura."
"A very astute observation, Lieutenant [L Name]," Spock replied.
A long moment elapsed during which the two of you stared at one another. Several fellow crewmates in various uniform colors threw curious looks at his back as they passed by on their ways to wherever they were headed. Your friend, meanwhile, allowed a single dark eyebrow to drift toward his hairline. He clearly had no intention of moving on.
"What are you doing here?" you sighed at last.
The wayward eyebrow rejoined its brother. "Lieutenant Commander Uhura informed me that you left your office this afternoon in distress. I note that her assessment was an accurate one. If anything, you appear to be in more distress now than she described to me then."
You couldn't lie to Spock, not when you looked the way you looked after a crying jag like the one you'd just had. So you didn't bother to try. "Fine. I'm in distress. But really, Spock, it's not the kind of distress you can help with. I'm sure Captain Kirk will need you on a landing party any minute now, so if you'll excuse me—"
"Lieutenant Commander Uhura also informed me of the cause of your distress."
"Of course she did." Sometimes you wished your two friends were a little lighter on the "amicable" part of "amicable exes." "Let me guess: You came by to tell me that you told me so."
"As a Vulcan, I have no reason to rub my correct prediction in your face, if you will forgive the Terra colloquial."
You let out a wet laugh despite yourself. "You're pardoned."
"What I have done is stopped by the mess hall. If I am not much mistaken, ice cream is a traditional consolation food in these types of situations."
He produced from behind his back a number of different colored tapes. So startled were you that you found yourself unable to say anything. Never in a million years would you have imagined Spock of all people standing in front of you and offering you junk food of all things. Your silence went on for so long that he had to prompt you to speak:
"Was I incorrect in my understanding of how to handle Terran breakups?"
"No," you said, then, "I just didn't want you to find out about the breakup until I could pull myself together."
"I surmised as much, given that Lieutenant Commander Uhura found out about your circumstances before I did, although you and I are closer friends. It would have been more logical for you to contact me for assistance than her."
Vulcans as a whole were difficult to read. Even factoring in your education and training, as well as your friendship with Spock that had gone on for several years now, you could only guess his feelings the majority of the time. Not so then. Something about his tone made him sound hurt. Maybe you could chalk that up to projecting your own feelings onto him, but you couldn't risk that assumption.
"It's just that you warned me against dating Kevin," you explained. "As ship's counselor, I should have seen the end coming a kiloparsec away."
"Perhaps. But one might also say that your extensive proximity to the crew's emotions might cause some loss in objectivity on your part."
"So you're not here to make me feel worse?"
"I came for consolation purposes. That is all."
"Well, all right, then."
You stepped away from the doorway. Spock followed you in. He paused only long enough to press the button to close the door before he came to join you in your sitting room. A crate sat on the floor along his path, and he looked at you questioningly as he walked by it.
"Those are Kevin's things," you said.
"Expedient," he observed.
Normally, you might have tried to go for a little more decorum around him, but that day you didn't have the energy to do more than flop back onto your couch. At least you were upright. Spock, on the other hand, claimed a dignified perch at the end of your chair. The two of you certainly made an odd pair.
"He had so many hair products!" you burst out when the awkward silence turned unbearable. "I should have known we wouldn't work out. Who brings that much hair spray into deep space?"
"Humanity can hardly be expected to iron out all its flaws when you all cling so hard to your baser emotions."
"Do you mean Kevin's desire to look nice, or my need to be in a relationship?"
Spock blinked, then smoothly said, "In this case, I refer to your former beau's preoccupation with personal grooming."
"Right. Either way, I'm about ready to get rid of all my own baser emotions. Not feeling them would be a blessing." You got back to your feet and thrust one hand in Spock's direction. "Ice cream tape, please."
He offered one to you.
"Spock," you said warningly.
"I do not believe that heartbreak is an excuse to overeat. I only brought so many because I was unsure which flavor you would select."
The glare you leveled at him seemed to make him think better of lecturing you on the dangers of gluttony—as well it should have. This was the same glare that you gave Dr. McCoy when you were tired of listening to him. Unlike with Dr. McCoy, you smiled once Spock dropped the rest of the tapes into your outstretched hand.
"Thank you." You headed for your in-quarters food producer, then turned your head to ask over your shoulder, "What flavor do you want?"
"I do not require ice cream."
"Come on, Spock. If you're going to spend the evening commiserating with me, you have to have some ice cream, too. That's a critical part of the Terran breakup process."
One corner of his mouth twitched. "I'll have pistachio, then."
You fed the yellow-green tape into the slot. A quiet beeping noise covered the hum of the warp drive as the computer worked. While you waited, you flipped through the remainder of the flavors until you found the one you wanted.
"I don't think it would be a good idea for you to give up emotions," Spock said.
"Huh?" Frowning at him, you replaced his tape with yours. "Aren't you the guy that's been talking about doing the Kolinahr when we get back to Earth?"
"That's different. I am a Vulcan."
"Half Vulcan."
"Vulcan enough."
A shriller beep put an end to this potentially sticky subject. The ice creams were ready. You dumped the rest of the tapes in a basket next to the food producer, picked up the bowls, and brought them back to the living room. Spock took his with a grateful nod, though he waited until you sat down again before taking a bite.
"Maybe I'd be a better counselor if I didn't have emotions," you mused. "If I wasn't blinded by my own feelings, I could help the crew more with theirs. I shouldn't have the same problems as they do after all the studying I've done."
"While that may indeed make sense, it is hardly realistic. Besides, if you did not have your human emotions, you would no longer be the [Name] that I know, and I believe that I would miss her."
You couldn't help but smile around the spoon in your mouth. Popping that out, you said, "I bet you say that to all the Terrans you like."
"Hardly. In fact, that captain may benefit from an hour or two without his usual emotions."
"I appreciate you saying that, Spock."
"I am only speaking the truth. I have no intention of bolstering your ego artificially, even if doing so is a part of the Terran breakup process."
"I know." You slowly lowered your spoon back to the bowl, staring off into space. Something was dawning on you—something that might have dawned on you sooner had you not been so enthralled with your own feelings. "You know what else I appreciate? You coming here to help me today. Not every first officer would go out of their way for a ship's counselor like that."
Spock fixed you with an unblinking gaze as he said, "You mean a great deal more to me than most ship's counselors mean to their first officers."
"I don't care what Captain Kirk says. You sure know how to make a woman blush."
"I have had some practice with the activity."
"Remind me to thank Uhura later."
"Thank her for what?" Spock asked.
Maybe you were reading the signs wrong. Maybe you were just desperate. If he had to ask, you had to be wrong. But you took a deep breath anyway, and said, "Helping me realize that maybe the guy I've been looking for this whole time has been my best friend all along."
How could it have taken you this long to work it out? No one else spent as much time with you as Spock did, not outside of your office hours. It didn't matter if you were in the mess hall asking for a round of Fizzbin after dinner or you wanted a quiet night in your quarters. He always seemed to be there. You felt comfortable around him. Maybe you didn't always understand Spock; maybe Spock didn't always understand. But you didn't enjoy anyone's company the way you did his. And you had to wonder when your eyes met just then if he felt the same way, and if this coming-to-see-you-with-ice-cream thing was his way of showing you that.
"Well," he moistened his lips before going on, "I certainly feel that our relationship is founded more steadily upon mutual interests and desires than it is upon a passion for hair products."
You leaned forward. "You know, that sort of relationship sounds really appealing right about now."
"It does?" Spock shifted closer to you.
"I think it's about time that I dated someone whose first thought in the morning isn't beating me to the sonic shower, don't you?"
By that time, you both had come so close that it wouldn't have taken much more movement on either of your parts to touch lips. Your heart gave a painful leap inside your chest. Was this too much too fast? Even if you had just realized you'd had a thing for Spock for a while now, you had only just broken up with your last boyfriend that morning. Treating Spock as a rebound was the last thing you wanted to do. He didn't seem to mind, though. His mouth drew closer and closer to yours until you could feel his breath on your face.
The communicator in your room chirped. You jumped. Spock paused before sitting back up in his chair. Then you rose wordlessly, stepped over to the panel, cleared your throat, and pushed the button.
"[L Name]," you said.
"[Name]?" Uhura did not remark on how breathless you sounded, thankfully. "I need to talk to Spock."
"It's for you," you said unnecessarily. Spock had already reset his face into its typical blank mask and made his way to the communicator himself.
"Spock here. What is it, Lieutenant Commander?"
"Captain Kirk needs you on the bridge. We have a situation up here."
"What kind of a situation?"
"There's a former United States President floating outside the ship. He says he needs our help."
"I will be there right away."
A second chirp signaled that communications between your room and the bridge had ceased. Spock turned back to you.
"My presence is needed on the bridge," he said.
"So I heard."
"I apologize. I believe we were in the middle of something."
"It's all right."
He didn't move.
"Spock, go. Don't you want to know why a deceased historical figure has asked for the Enterprise's help?"
"I'd prefer to stay here," Spock said. "But you are correct. I must leave. Will you still be here later tonight?"
"Yeah." You surprised yourself with the eagerness of your answer. "Yeah, I will. I promise I won't run off with any other lieutenants while you're away. I'll save the rest of the ice cream. We can share it when you get back."
There it was: The slight curl to Spock's mouth that told you that you weren't making up the mutual attraction between you both after all. "To use another Terran phrase, it's a date."
He hesitated another moment longer before he quickly exited your quarter. You grinned as the door slid shut behind him and the white noise returned full force. As you sunk into your couch and pillow this time, you found you didn't mind the hum as much. In fact, the sound did exactly what it was supposed to do: Relax you. Kevin and his excuses from that morning felt farther away than your own home planet. Maybe you owed him a thank you, too, because if you were still with him, you wouldn't have slept as well as you did that night knowing that Spock would be back soon.

Spock x Fem reader
Requested by: none
Warnings: Mentions of death, Soft!Spock, fluff, comfort.
A/n: If you don't like the warnings please don't read! PLEASE KEEP MY COMMENT SECTION AGGRESSION FREE!
Summary: Y/n's race has been at war with the Carmites for centuries, and now they have a weapon that wipes out her entire race, leaving her to be the last of her kind. After the destruction of her people, Y/n feels lost and alone. Only for Spock to show her she is anything but alone.
___
"They're gone, Sir." Chekov said.
Kirk gave him a confused look, stepping closer to the view screen. "Gone? What do you mean they're gone? What weapon can wipe out an entire race in seconds?
"I don't know, Sir. They're just...gone.
Spock looked over at Y/n, utter terror and sadness written all over her face as she stared at her deserted planet.
Y/n couldn't believe it, she had just talked with her father the day before. Everything was alright, no sign of any upcoming attacks.
Kirk turned back to her, "Mr. Chekov, take us to starbase 5. We need to inform Starfleet what happened."
He got closer to Y/n, placing a hand on her shoulder and was about to speak when she turned and walked to the turbo lift.
The doors began to close when Spock slipped through, the two stood there in silence until he reached over and clicked the button to stop the lift.
Her eyes locked forward as Spock stepped in front of her, he gently ran his thumb over her cheek, wiping the tears away and resting his forehead against hers.
Y/n leaned forward and pressed her lips to his, Spock pulled her closer and wrapped her in a hug, running his fingers through her hair as she let her head fall against his chest.
"I feel so alone... Her voice was quiet and sad.
"You're not alone, I'm right here. I'll always be right here."
The lift resumed and Spock held her until the doors opened, the two walked to their quarters and went inside.
Y/n locked the door and leaned back against it, memories running through her head. Her people hated war, they never wanted to hurt anyone. But the Carmites were brutal and evil, the two races never got along.
Spock held her hands and kiss her forehead, "I love you. Y/n. Everything is gonna be alright.
"Is that your human half talking?" She whispered. "Or was it a logical assumption you logically arrived at?"
"It's the truth, no matter how illogical it maybe."
"...I love you too, Spock."
THE END ❤️

Pet Empathy
Pairing – Jonathan Archer x GN!Reader
Summary – Based on S2E5 “A Night In Sickbay”, as a crew member of the Enterprise, Captain Archer calls you–another pet-lover to console him in his time of need.
Word Count – 806
Tumblr media
Jonathan Archer was sleepless and starting to get agitated with all of Doctor Phlox’s late-night antics. He could barely get an hour's worth of sleep before he was up and ripping the curtain open in sickbay to Phlox feeding another one of his chirping creatures. Not only Phlox, but it was also Captain Archer’s anxiety and concern towards his beloved dog–Porthos–that was chewing into his subconscious. He wasn’t sure how much more he could handle.
As soon as he brought up his quarrel with T’pol, Phlox decided to point out sexual tension–a common phenomenon going on between all crew before then, which is when Archer’s mind raced to think of you.
For once, his mind wasn’t preoccupied with his beagle, but instead with you–his loyal and devoted crew member. He remembered you were one of the few exceptions, like himself, to bring on board an Earth pet to look after in your quarters.
You always showed responsibility with your care to your animal, and Archer made sure to be friendly with someone like-minded when it came to animals, so it was no doubt he was familiar with you.
When it came time to his frustration he commed you, in the early hours of the night. When you came running into the sickbay in your sleepwear, you first caught sight of the sickly dog laying in his box, then second to your captain.
“Captain Archer, I’m so terribly sorry to hear what happened to Porthos,” you said.
“It’s… Definitely a tragedy, L/N, but I want to apologise for any disturbance I’ve caused this late at night, I just… don’t know who else to contact,” he grovelled.
“It’s alright, Captain, I completely understand if he were mine.”
“I knew you would,” he chuckled.
“How’s she doing?” You asked, walking up to the box, stroking the corner of the glass as if he could feel it.
“We should know within a couple of hours,” Archer repeated, as he continued to say to everyone.
Silence filled the air. Phlox was busy doing his duties with other species and medicine, still eavesdropping on your conversation with the captain. There wasn’t much to say to your captain without it possibly being deemed inappropriate, although, being summoned in your sleepwear in front of your superior was already inappropriate, you didn’t want to extend it any further by saying something unprofessional.
“As someone who loves their animals just as much as I do, what should I do in this situation, crewman?” He asked, head low, ashamed that he felt he must ask for support.
“I find it endearing that you stick by your companion’s side while he is sick, Captain…” As you say that, your eyes catch Phlox’s gaze, while he gives you a fascinated ‘hm,’ “...But I think that it might cause you more harm than good, might disrupt your sleep and therefore your mental health, affecting the crew, Captain. Why don’t we return to your quarters for a short while, take your mind off things,” you suggested.
He looked over to Phlox, “Oh, it’s quite alright, Captain, he is in a stable condition. I’ll let you know if anything dire happens.”
The captain’s quarters were quiet without Porthos, he couldn’t take his eyes off of the empty dog bed.
“If the Kreetassan even tried to look over the data, Porthos wouldn’t be in this mess,” he complained, pacing the room. The hot tea you retrieved for him was sitting on the table alone, losing steam with every second that passed.
“I’m sure there is always someone to blame, but on this mission, there is always the risk that we might lose our loved ones, especially those in our crew, and the ship,” you tried to explain.
“You’re right,” Archer said after a moment of thought, “I should’ve never risked Porthos on an alien planet.”
“No, Captain.” He stopped to look at you, who asserted their position as they stood up. “Your decisions come with consequences, but now is the time to be optimistic.”
He looked puzzled, so you walked up to him. Really close. Close enough so he could watch your lips while you talked.
“You trust your doctor, yes?”
“Yes, but I can’t he–”
“Then trust he has it under control. There is still a chance to redeem this ship of embarrassment with the Kreetassan,” you tell him. But you’re so close to him, he heard every word you said, but also ignored it all. He couldn’t stop looking at you.
“You’re right… L/N.” Then, he leaned down and kissed you. Without any self-control or professionalism, in the privacy of his quarters, he kissed you.
When he pulled back, you straightened yourself out. “I’m… sorry L/N. That was–”
“It’s okay, Captain. It was your decision. I guess us pet owners are highly empathetic.”
“I guess so,” he laughed.

If there was one thing you abhorred more then anything, it was sparring. It probably stemmed from the fact that most of your opponents were always bigger, taller and stronger then you were. Though you were quick on your feet, it still didn't make the situation any less daunting.
And as you faced-off against the Captain of your Ship, you couldn't help but feel that the universe was probably against you. At least for that day.
To encourage residents aboard the USS Enterprise to be familiar with varying degrees of strength and fighting techniques, the Captain had decided that everyone would benefit from a little friendly competition. The fight pairs were generated using the computer, so there was no chance of cheating, though you wished you had asked one of your more technology inclined friends to take your name off the roster.
Aboard such a big Starship, you doubted anyone would notice that you hadn't participated.
Now, here you were, lying flat on your back after Captain Kirk had managed to trip you over. Sweat lined your forehead, and your chest rose and fell in pants as you tried your best to regain your breath.
A light smattering of applause followed your defeat, maybe they were impressed with a few of the moves you had pulled?
Moves that had been taught to you by your T'hy'la, Spock.
A well kept secret between the two of you, you had begged him to teach you a few Vulcan moves to better help you during combat. As a full-bloodied human, you were sure no opponent would expect something of the sort from you, giving you an element of surprise.
Spock had taught you a few of them, in the privacy of your rooms. It was a blessing that your room were right next to one another, though you had a sneaking suspicion that Spock had something to do with such an arrangement. You weren't complaining. It made it easy for the both of you to go and meet the other during your downtime.
Had he been one of the people watching? Did he see you using those moves?
A hand appeared in your vision, prompting you to take it as it hauled you up. Kirk gave an excited grin, his own body covered in sweat. "Damn, I didn't expect it to be quite the workout Y/n." You raised an eyebrow at him, another characteristic you had learned from your lover.
"Is that a dig on my size, Captain?" You asked, crossing your arms over your chest as you did. His eyes seemed to follow your movement, lingering just a tad bit longer at your chest. Rolling your eyes you snapped your fingers in front of his face, breaking his staring.
"Do I need to report you to HR, Captain?" You said, in jest, knowing he didn't mean anything by it. You had learned early on that Jim Kirk had the affinity to flirt with anyone of the opposite gender. It did not matter if they were of the same species or not.
He grinned back, reaching out to pat your shoulder in an affectionate manner. "No need, Y/L/N. We're all friends here." His words were followed by a teasing wink.
You opened your mouth to respond, when you felt a familiar presence coming to stand just beside you.
"Spock! Is it your turn next?" Kirk asked, thinking perhaps that the Second-in-Command was up next on the roster. They still had a significant audience around them, waiting for the next fight. You glanced at him out of the corner of your eyes.
To anyone else Spock would look the same. But you knew better. There was a certain tension around him that made hims grip his hands even tighter behind his back. Worry gnawed at your heart, but you kept quiet, waiting for him to respond.
"No, Captain, I simply came over to inquire about your opponents physical state of being. You did manage to hit her during your sparring session." Kirk frowned in confusion, just as your heart began to race as Spock turned his attention towards you.
And right there, in front of everyone, he reached out and gently took your hand in his. Silence echoed all around you as people stared gobsmacked as Spock locked your fingers with his. Though not before he managed to sneak in a brief brush of his fingers against yours in a Vulcan kiss.
If anyone were to know just how affectionate the half-vulcan could be when it came to you, they wouldn't believe it for a second.
"Are you well, Y/n?" He asked, his eyes drifting over your frame to check for any obvious injuries. He towered over your significantly, yet neither of you minded the different in height. Spock had once claimed it only added to your already endearing nature.
Translation: He found it adorable.
A smile bloomed across your features as you gave his hand a squeeze. "I am fine, Spock." You reassured him. Whatever trace of worry lingered in his gaze vanished at your assurance, though the tightness around his mouth remained.
"Is this what I think it is?" Kirk's voice came from beside them. The two of you turned your attention to the dumbfounded Captain. Spock, still holding your hand gave a small nod. "If you are referring to the nature of relationship I share with Y/n, then yes, you assume correct."
Knowing Spock wouldn't want Kirk asking anymore questions, at least not in front of an audience, you gently tugged at his hand. "Love to stay and chat Captain, but I'm starving and Spock promised to have lunch with me today."
With that you managed to pull your boyfriend away from the crowded gymnasium and out into the empty corridor.
Neither of you spoke, not until you were within the safety of your room. Turning to him with a bemused smile pulling at your lips, you voiced your thoughts. "What was that about? I didn't realize we were going to go public yet."
Spock, having recovered a little from what had transpired stood with his hands at his side. "I apologize, Y/n. I cannot seem to understand what overcame me." He admitted, to which you gave a small frown. "Overcame you? Spock you're not making any sense."
A small stretch of silence followed your words, as you recalled what had happened just a few minutes ago. Your mind replayed the scene, trying to pinpoint what had made Spock act the way he had.
Suddenly it clicked and your eyes widened. "Spock? Were you jealous when Kirk looked at my chest?"
The reaction to your question was instant. His entire body went rigid and panic flashed in his eyes. Unable to help yourself, you let out a small laugh, mirth shining in your eyes as you shook your head at you boyfriend.
Spock seemed to be struggling to say something as his cheeks tinged a slight green at having been caught so blatantly. "I admit, I did feel a surge of negative emotion when he did that. Which is what compelled me to announce the nature of our relationship."
His eyes met yours. "I hope you are not upset with my blatant disregard for secrecy." Your heart softened at the obvious nervousness that was in his tone as you smiled at him.
Stepping closer to him, you held up your hand, sighing softly as he took your initiative to instigate a Vulcan kiss. With your other hand you reached up to cup the side of his face, smiling as you felt him lean into your touch.
"I am not Spock. I am happy. It only means we do not have to hide from everyone anymore. And it was rather flattering, to have to step in when you did to show Kirk that I belonged to you."
Your last three words seemed to act as the trigger. Whatever self-control he had left hanging by a thread snapped, as he surged forward and pressed his lips to yours in a deep kiss. Raising yourself on your tiptoes, you returned his passionate embrace, arms moving to wrap loosely around his broad shoulders. His hands settled on either side of your waist as he pulled your body flush against his own.
Though it only took a few seconds for him to slide his hands down the side, to your thighs and help you wrap your legs around his waist. Neither of you broke the kiss as he gently pressed you against the wall. You shivered as his hands caressed the area under your thighs. He let out a deep moan as your nails, gentle yet sharp, scraped against the skin of his neck and the back of his head.
You were the one to break away first, panting heavily, as you gazed at him through lidded eyes. He still had his eyes closed as he began to press kisses along your neck, stopping to suck at a spot just under your ear, prompting you to melt against him as your very bones seemed to liquefy.
"Spock? I really need a shower." You whispered, remembering you had just had a sparring session.
"Then allow me to assist you."
You bit back a groan as your lips found his once more and you cradled his face between your hands as he carried you to the bathroom.

You tried to keep your eyes straight ahead, or on the scanner, but you always found them wandering back to Spock as he walked in front of you. It would be so much easier if it wasn't just the two of you. If he had insisted on someone else coming along. Or just someone other than you.
When you had been told Spock wanted you to come with him down to the planet, you feared you would panic. You didn't think he would ever invite you on a mission, let alone acknowledge your training. Which, he seemed to know a remarkable amount about.
Once you arrived in the transporter room, you expected others as well. But you were met only by Lt. Commander Spock, to beam down with, and the Captain to see you off. You wanted to ask why, but you always found yourself somewhat speechless in Spock's presence, much to your own annoyance.
How could you form a crush on him without having had a conversation longer than a few sentences?
Maybe it was the way he seemed to know everything. Intelligence was sexy after all.
Plus, his voice, his voice seemed to send a chill up your spine whenever you heard it.
Or maybe it was the way that bits of his human side wold come through when he spoke to the Captain or Number One. The way he would raise one brown at a joke he did not understand. Or the way he would try to make a joke that only some could understand.
Being so lost in your thoughts, you missed when Spock looked back at you. He could tell you were lost in thought by the familiar look on your face. He often saw it when he would look at you on the bridge. You always seemed to be thinking about something, your mind never empty or calm, at least when you were working. Perhaps you were much more serene when you were off duty.
Being honest with himself, you intrigued him. You were one of the smartest officers on the Enterprise, but you never tried to prove yourself, or make yourself known.
You seemed to be burdened by heavy emotion, as he would sometimes catch you, when you think no one is looking, and he could see it all over you. But the second you know someone is looking, or the second you are needed, you can shut it away. Much like a Vulcan in some respects.
You were selfless and often put others burdens before yourself. He had heard many officers talking about ways you've helped them, or how you've put yourself in harms way to save them. He even saw it for himself once. And he admired you for that.
In a more human way than he was expecting, he found himself drawn to you. He would find his eyes wandering to you on the bridge. Or he would always pick up on your voice in the room. It was so much nicer to listen to that others. But he almost never heard it in close proximity. And when he did, he could never seem to tear his eyes away from you.
That was something that confused him, even troubled him in a way. When he would see you with others on board, you were all smiles and conversation. But the second you were with Spock, you were quiet, stoic, and barely ever spoke.
Did he intimidate you? Did you think he would chastise you for your usual demeanor? Did you hate him? Or, perhaps, did he make you nervous in another way?
"Uhm, Commander Spock?"
Spock halted in his steps at the sound of your voice and turned back to face you. You had stopped a ways back, and had a confused look on your face.
"Yes Lieutenant?"
"Isn't the signal coming from this way?" You asked as you pointed to the left of you.
Looking down at his own scanner, he realized that he had gotten so lost in thought that he had not been paying attention. Walking back towards you, he met your eyes. "You are correct. I apologize, I seemed to be lost in thought."
You just smiled at him and stepped away, signalling that he was to go ahead of you. His eyes lingered on you for a moment before he began to head towards the signal. It was close now, he needed to focus. He could think about you later.
You both came to a stop when you saw in front of you, a large field of big orange bulbs, that appeared to be flowers. The two of you looked at your scanned and back at the plants.
"The unusual signal we traced does seem to be coming from these plants" Spock said as he took a step closer.
"They don't appear to be dangerous, but it's hard to say, since the signal is unknown to us." you noted. "But what about them could be sending a signal so strong you can see it from orbit?"
"A good question indeed. Perhaps we should take a sample back to The Enterprise."
You nodded, as you reached into your bag and pulled out a small blade. Spock rose one brow as he saw this and you stared at him for a moment.
"What?"
He tilted his head lightly. "Do you always carry a blade with you?"
You paused awkwardly for a moment. "Yes?"
You saw his lip quirk slightly, in what you could only say was an almost smile. Even if it wasn't a full smile, it still made your blood rush.
Reaching towards the plant cautiously, you placed the blade at the stock and began to cut. As the whole plant seemed to move, you jumped back in alarm.
Spock stared in surprise as the flower seemed to lurch in reaction to your blade, before the leaves slowly started to unravel.
"I think I...hurt it." You said softly, guilt easily heard in your tone.
As the large bloom opened fully, you were taken aback at how beautiful it was. The inside was an array or oranges, reds and blacks. But your eyes were suddenly drawn to the center of the flower as a hole of some kind opened up. Suddenly a thick cloud of pollen was fired out, coating you and Spock.
You both tumbled back and covered your faces, coughing as you struggled to breathe.
"A defense mechanism." You coughed out.
Spock tapped his communicator. "Lt Commander Spock to Enterprise."
"Spock this is Captain Pike, what's going on down there? Your vital signs are spiking."
Spock shook his head as he grew dizzy. Looking over at you, he noticed you were leaning over, with your hands on your thighs as you tried to stay steady.
"The signal was coming from some sort of large flowering plant. We attempted to take a sample but it reacted in defense. We were hit with what seemed to be a large cloud of pollen, but now- now we are feeling affects of debilitation."
"Alright, get ready to be transported back."
"No!" You voice broke in, and Spock looked over at you. "My scans are showing signs of contagious toxin. If you bring us on board the pollen might effect anyone around us."
Spock looked at his scanner. "Lieutenant L/N is right Captain."
"Okay, then prepare for decontamination and quarantine protocols."
You and Spock locked eyes as you both swayed on your feet. Looking back down at the ground you sighed.
--------- --------- ---------
You looked around the empty room, it's bright lights shining down on you. Spock sat on a bench nearby, watching you. You felt goosebumps cover your arms as you realized this. It was hard for you to speak to Spock, your shyness around him making it so. But being in quarantine with him, alone and in complete silence was worse.
Purposefully looking around the barren room you finally spoke, somewhat alarmed at how loud your voice seemed in the empty room.
"Why do they keep these rooms so empty? Wouldn't you want to distract a patient from the thoughts that would be going through their minds in this sort of situation?"
Looking over at Spock, you saw him consider this as he looked around the room. Opening his mouth, you saw him hesitate for a second. "I- I do not know." His eyes met yours. "Logic would suggest the colors and silence in the room would be soothing."
You frowned and rose a brow. "Really? I feel like I'd go crazy in here after a while."
"Your argument does make sense as well. I am unsure as to why the room is so vacant."
"I mean, you'd think there would at least be books or something." You said as you walked to one side of the room. "It feels more like solitary confinement."
"Perhaps this is something you could bring up to the Doctor once we are released."
"Maybe I will." You said with a hint of agreement.
Spock watched you for another moment as you walked slowly to the nearby bed and sat down. You looked down at your feet, and tapped yours fingers rhythmically on the bed.
"I believe that was the longest conversation we have had during our acquaintance."
He watched as a small smile spread across your face, and you slowly looked over at him. "I think it was too."
"We have been on the same ship for quite a while, and even crossed paths at the academy."
He saw the way your eyes widened a bit. "I- I didn't realize you had noticed me. At the academy, I mean."
"I did. You often had the highest marks in many of your classes."
You repressed a smile and shrugged your shoulder as you leaned back and looked up at the cieling. "You were often the only person I couldn't do better than. Not that I ever expected too."
Spock watched you for a moment. "I would like to know more about you."
He saw the way you seemed to freeze, your breath hitched in your throat, your eyes widened for a second and you seemed speechless. After a moment you looked over at him. "You do?"
He nodded once.
Your heart was hammering in your chest. You never expected him to show any interest in you before, but now this was almost overwhelming. "Well, uh, what do you want to know?"
He thought to himself for a moment before he spoke. "I am unsure. Anything really."
You opened your mouth and found that you were unsure of what to say. Thinking back to your time at the academy, and how you got to know your roommate you turned towards Spock.
"How about a game of twenty questions?"
You watched as he rose one brow and tilted his head a bit. "I do not know that game."
"Well, there are technically two versions of the game. The original is one person thinks of an object, and the other player, or players, has twenty questions they can ask to narrow it down and guess it. But, there is another version, in which two people ask twenty questions, ten each in this case, about the other person, to get to know them."
Spock thought it over for a moment before he rose suddenly. You watched him as he walked over to you and sat down on the bed beside you, much closer than you had expected.
Meeting your eyes, he nodded once. "I would like to play."
Your breath was shallow as you adjusted yourself, unsure if you should move away or not. "Alright, I'll go first. Uhm..."
What did you want to know about him? Everything. But where should you start? Are there things he would find offensive? Things that might trigger bad memories? You decided to just start out simple.
"Alright. Question one, what is your favorite thing about Vulcan?"
Spock tilted his head as he thought about what you asked. Looking to the floor, and back to you, he spoke calmly. "I have always been fond of the warm colors that stretch across Vulcan during the evening."
"You like the sunsets?"
He looked back at you and nodded softly. "Yes. Is that odd?"
You shook your head. "No, no I love sunsets too."
Spock seemed lost in thought for a moment as he stared at you. Clearing your throat lightly you spoke softly. It's your turn now."
"Oh, yes." He looked down at his feet for a moment, and then back at you. "Why did you join Star Fleet?"
"Oh, well. It kind of ran in the family for a long time, before, well, before it didn't. My father was the first to break tradition, he never liked the idea of Star Fleet, I never really understood why. But, I always adored the idea of it. Especially after the stories I heard from my grandparents. Once I was old enough, I decided to go to the academy, even though my father did not approve. He doesn't talk to me much anymore, but my grandparents do." You smiled softly before you looked over at him and frowned a bit. "Was that an answer?" You almost laughed.
He smiled softly. "Yes, I believe I understood, and related in some ways."
You knew of Spock's decision to go to star fleet academy instead of the Vulcan science academy. And how it went against his father's ideals for him. You figured he would not want you to press on the topic. Fiddling with your fingers a bit, you thought of another question.
"Question three, why Science instead of any other division?"
"It seemed logical, as science has always been easy for me to comprehend, and...in many ways, enjoy." Before you could respond, Spock straightened up a bit. "I believe I have my next question."
You nodded in encouragement, and he spoke slowly. "Question Four. Do I intimidate you?"
You blinked in surprise and stared agape at him for a moment before you finally spoke. "I...can you ellaborate?"
"You never seem to be...comfortable around me, so I was wondering it there was a reason."
You felt a small wave of guilt wash over you. "Oh. Well...in some ways, yes. But in no way negatively. I mean, you were always above me at the academy, your intelligence and work ethic is much stronger than mine, so in some ways yes, you do intimidate me. But...I'm not uncomfortable around you, I just, didn't think you'd like me...I guess."
"I would ask you why you think that, but it is not my turn for a question."
You blinked before letting out a small laugh. "Alright, um, question five. I'm sorry that I made you think you made me uncomfortable. Can you forgive me?"
A small smile crossed his face briefly before he spoke. "I can, and do forgive you."
You smiled at him, and waited for him to speak again.
"Why did you think I would not like you?"
You let out a soft sigh. "I...don't have a great track record with Vulcan's. I think I annoy them, sometimes. I ask a lot of questions, and question a lot of their answers. So, I guess I just assumed that, like them, you would not really enjoy my company."
"I think questioning is the best way to learn. I do know that many Vulcan's do not wish to be questioned, or challenged, I have met the same problem during my life on Vulcan. So I believe, that is simply another thing we have in common. And, as to clear the air. I do like you."
You felt your heart palpitate, and your ears burn hot. Ignoring it you smiled at him. "Well, I will also add to the record, that I like you too."
Yours and Spock's eyes seemed to lock steadily for a moment as some form of tension began to build between you. Looking away, you stood up, and cleared your throat. You could feel your anxiety rising, as the tension in the room grew thick. You walked around the small area of the room.
"Alright, question seven. Why did you ask for me specifically to come down to the planet with you instead of another officer?"
"I believed you to be the most competent in the situation. On a previous mission in which we encountered an unusual signal, you were the first to figure out what it was. I thought perhaps this time, you could do the same again."
"Oh. Yeah, okay, that makes sense. Though, it proved to be wrong, as I have no idea how a plant can do that."
"Nor do I." He added. "Though, I would not doubt that you might have figured it out it we had more time, and were not in this situation."
You felt butterflies erupt in your stomach. "I appreciate the confidence in my abilities."
He nodded his head lightly in recognition before he suddenly stood up. You felt a small jolt as he did so, uncertain as to what he was going to do.
"Question eight. Why do you not display your abilities more often on The Enterprise? I believe you are one of the smartest officers on board, and more competent than most, yet you do not often express it except in times of need."
You shrugged a bit. "I'm not very fond of show-offs. Nor do I wish to play a game of who's the best when on bridge. It's not a competition to me."
"That is logical reasoning, though I would not be afraid to show off a bit in the future. You deserve to be recognized for your abilities."
"How is it you recognize them so easily?" You asked quickly, catching yourself off guard.
Spock approached you, and you felt your stomach clench. "That is your next question?"
"Yeah, I guess it is."
"I recognize them, because I notice you. Question ten, you were offered a position on another, more capable ship when you graduated the academy, why did you choose the Enterprise?"
You were thrown off by his comment leading so quickly into another question. "Because I didn't like the Captain, he was a bigoted war-lover. What do you mean you notice me?"
"I notice you because you stand out, even when you think no one see's you. Question twelve, there was another reason other than intimidation that causes you to avoid me, what is it?"
"I don't avoid you."
"Yes you do."
"I- I don't mean too."
He titled his head lightly. "But you do."
You felt as though you were being interrogated, but you were not afraid. "You make me nervous" You finally admitted.
"Why?"
"Not your turn." You countered and you saw his eyes seem to widen, as his lip curved up slightly. "Question thirteen, why is it so important to you that you know me?"
His eyes darted around your face for a moment before he spoke. "Because you intrigue me."
"Wh-" you stopped yourself before you finished, deciding to wait for your next question.
"Why do I make you nervous?" He asked again, his eyes almost burning into you.
Your heart was hammering in your chest, and you felt as though you might blow over with one stiff breeze. The tension between you and Spock was thick, and he seemed to get closer and closer with every question he asked.
"I think it may be because of the same reason I intrigue you."
He tilted his head to the side as he seemed to study your face. "And yet neither of us seem able to say it aloud."
"Why do you think that is?"
"Because it is logical to be afraid that one of us is mistaken, in thinking we know what the other is feeling." Your eyes were locked again, and neither of you had the will to look away. Spock took a small step closer as he spoke. "Do you have feelings for me Y/n?"
You seemed almost stuck in a trance as his eyes bored into yours. His voice was steady, and deep, and seemed to pull the truth out of you, as you mumbled a soft "Yes." Your breath was unsteady, and your voice soft. "So, was I mistaken?"
He softly shook his head "No." His eyes finally broke from yours as he looked at your lips. Meeting your eyes again, he leaned in closer to you, his face only a few inches away. "I believe we are on question eighteen of our game."
You nodded softly as you watched his eyes darted between your eyes and lips again.
"If I asked you, if I could kiss you. Would you say yes?"
You took a short breath, as you began to feel almost delirious. Was this a dream?
Your voice was soft, just above a whisper "Yes." This time your eyes darted from his eyes to his lips. "Are you going to ask if you can kiss me?"
As Spock inched a little closer, his lips almost brushing yours, he spoke "Yes". His nose brushed yours lightly, as he spoke his final question, his lips just touching yours as he spoke "Can I kiss you?"
You nodded your head almost unnoticeablely, as you whispered out a soft "Yes."
The word barely left your mouth before his lips were pressed against yours. You did not realize you were standing near the wall until your back was pressed against it as he deepened the kiss. One hand was cupping your face, as the other grabbed your waist. You pressed your hands against his chest and grabbed the fabric, before you brought one hand up to his neck, as you leaned into the kiss.
You seemed to get lost in each other, time passing without you really realizing. As you heard the room comm come on, and the Doctors voice echo through the room.
"Good news guys, you'll be out of their shortly. We only have one more test result to wait for."
"Thank you Doctor." Spock said almost breathlessly as he was still holding you close, his forehead pressed against yours and his eyes staring into yours.
"You guys need anything?"
"No. I believe we are quite content."
You smiled at this comment, as Spock gently caressed your cheek with his thumb. "I did not believe I would ever enjoy being in quarantine."
You let out a soft laugh. "Neither did I."
Spock pulled you into another deep, yet brief kiss. When he pulled away he smiled softly at you. "I apologize I took so long to make my feelings known."
"And I'm sorry I avoided you because of mine."
"I believe your game of twenty questions seemed to prove quite fruitful."
"Yes," you chuckled "I believe it did."
xx End xx
I wrote this before I watched SNW, so sorry if its a bit off
I had trouble finding a place to end this without it being left off awkwardly, but I hope you liked it! I know it was pretty long and a bit of a slow-burn lol.

Imagine the following:
You are sitting down with your fictional comfort character, basking in their overall beauty and the love you have for them. They feel so close, so alive, so good. You remember all the conversations you had with them in your life, how they and their story soothed your mind and how you would drop everything to take away their pain, if only you could…
You tell them: „You are real to me!“
And your comfort character looks at you, fondness in their eyes, cocks their head to the side and smiles lovingly, adoringly and eternally grateful for your love.
They smile and answer: „You are real to me, too!“
Because in their world you are their imaginary friend, eternal supporter and lover (whatever lover means in that context for you) and they feel the same about you like you do about them. It’s mutual love and adoration!
Your comfort character(s) love you so much!

For the NSFW Ficlet thing-I love rough sex with Khan and his breeding kink. But what about slow and soft sex? Khan just loves you so much and wants to start a family with you and he’s being so affectionate as he slowly fucks you.
send me a nsfw headcanon and i’ll write a 5 sentence ficlet about it | 18+ only please
Tumblr media
“look at you, so fucking pretty with my cock inside you,” khan breathed while drawing your eyes down to where the two of you were joined, his cock slowly dragging in and out of your folds that were now coated in his cum from the two rounds he put you through earlier.
he gripped the meat of your thighs tight enough to leave bruises but you loved them—loved being marked by him and holding physical evidence of his adoration on your body. khan nipped and sucked along your chest with each thrust, seemingly more than happy to take his time with you, so unlike what you were used to when it came to sex with the man; he was oftentimes rough, ruthless with his fucking—you didn’t mind, of course—but today had been different as he devoured your cunt with painstakingly slow laps of his devilish tongue, covered your skin in love bites, and now fucked you with such deep and sensual strokes, you weren’t sure where your head was at currently.
a moan was pulled from your throat by a particularly deep thrust that brushed against your cervix when you finally asked, “what has gotten into you today?”
khan continued his movements inside you but you could feel the slightest tremor from him as he replied, “i just wanted to show you how much i love you,” and lowered his mouth to yours.

Jim Kirk x reader part 2
Part 1 here
Kirk P/O/V:                                                                                                           I pace up and down outside the medical bay waiting for Bones to come out and tell me if Y/Ns okay. Spock is manning the bridge but checks in with me every 10 minutes "Which is a logical amount of time." apparently, I sigh and run my fingers through my hair it's been two hours since we got back and she is still unconscious. The door opens and Bones walks out "Is she alright?" he nods looking annoyed "She will be, she will wake up in about an hour." I nod "Do you mind if I sit with her?" he shakes his head "No just don't annoy me while I work." I nod and follow him back into the medbay and sit down next to Y/N.
I gently tuck her hair behind her pointed ear and smile slightly "It's my fault your here and I'm sorry." I take her hand gently forgetting how Vulcans kiss and run my fingers along the back of her hand. "You know how I keep asking you out and you say no, that really hurts me. Because I love you." I raise an eyebrow "Wow its a lot easier to tell you when I know you can't hear me." I let go of her hand and lean back in my chair. The door opens and Spock walks in "How is she?" I smile "Should wake up soon, was that a hint of emotion Mr Spock?" he raises an eyebrow "I don't believe so Captain!"
I smile and look back down at Y/N "I didn't know you where related." he nods "Yes she is my sister, although she shows her emotions more freely than myself."  I nod "And how would you react if we were a thing?" he raises an eyebrow "Are you?" I shrug "If she agrees?" he nods "I do not see anything illogical about that." I grin "Now I just need to convince her that I'm not going to break her heart." he nods "If you do I will make sure that Dr McCoy gives you as many hypos as humanly possible." I nod knowing that he will stay true to that as Vulcans do not lie.
Y/N sturs slightly and we both look over, she opens her e/c eyes and blinks slightly staring at the both of us. "How long was I out?" I smile "A couple of...." Spock interrupts "3 hours, 32 minutes and 15 seconds." she grins "Thanks Spock." he nods "You are welcome." she sits up and I notice that her ears are tinted green slightly. "Now that I know you are alright I need to return to the bridge." she nods and he leaves as Bones walks in "Y/N your awake, you just need some quick tests then you're free to go." she nods and Bones scans her and takes her heart rate. "Alright you're free to leave, but you will need to come back in the next week." she nods and swings her legs out of bed.
I help her up and we walk out of the medbay and down the corridor to the turbo lift. "So how do you feel?" she shrugs and looks down at the floor blushing green "I'm good." I tilt my head "Why are you blushing?" she turns more green "Do, do you know how Vulcans kiss?" I nod "Yes, they touch fingers. Oh." she nods "I'm sorry," I lift her chin up so I look into her eyes "Why are you apologising?" she shrugs and I lean down and kiss her gently before pulling away "You don't need to apologise." her face is bright green now and I grin tucking her hair back behind her ears. "You know you're beautiful."
The lift doors open and we both walk out she walks towards her room and I follow her "You think I'm beautiful?" I nod and she smiles "You know I heard everything while I was out." I feel my self blushing and she grins leaning up and kissing my cheek "You should know I feel the same way." she disappears into her quarters and the door closes leaving me outside looking like a tomato. I knock and the door opens "You can't just say that and leave." she grins "Say what?" I smirk and wrap my arms around her waist "You know what."  she raises one of her eyebrows just like Spock would and wraps her arms around my neck. "Nope." I lean down and whisper in her ear "Maybe this will help you remember." I kiss her gently pulling her closer she grins and removes one of her arms grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers.
I pull away grinning "Would you like to go out with me say tomorrow night?" she grins "That sounds logical." she kisses me again before yawning "You should sleep, I'll see you tomorrow." I kiss the top of her head and walk out grinning like an idiot.

Dr. Leonard McCoy x Reader: Mutual
Word Count: 579 Summary: Deep in thought, and away from the rest of the crew of the Enterprise, you stand in silence until McCoy finds you. Warnings/Notes: Alcohol mention. Mutual pining.
~~~~  ~~~~  ~~~~  ~~~~
   Space, it was dark, vast, and completely silent. Or so you heard. At the moment, you had wished that your racing thoughts would emulate it as such. Your mind drifted from your work, yourself, and nearly everything in-between.    Unbeknownst to you, Doctor McCoy entered the officer’s mess. He quickly took notice of your silence and unmoving stature as you stared out of the viewport.    “Hey,” McCoy said softly, catching your attention away from the window.    You looked over to see the CMO with an equally soft yet concerned expression.    “Are you all right? You look deep in thought.”    “Yeah, just…in my head. Too often sometimes,” you admitted.    He gave a sympathetic smile and nodded. “Sounds to me like you could use a drink.”
   With a steadying breath and apologetic smile, you tilted your head. “Unfortunately, I don’t drink.”    And when you thought that alone would deter him, you caught a thoughtful smirk playing at his lips.    “How about water on the rocks?”    A laugh bubbled out, pleasantly surprised by his reaction. “Now that I can do.”    The beaming smile that he gave was nothing short of swoon worthy. When he had turned to make his way over to the bar, you followed. You stood by the barstools. Leaning against the top surface, you watched as Leonard stepped around the back to find two clean glasses.    “Usually, I’d prefer something a little stronger,” he said, raising a teasing eyebrow while he poured the drinks.    “How strong?” You asked, and he walked back around the bar toward you.    “Nothing illegal,” he affirmed, handing you a glass.    The two of you leaned on your sides against the bar, facing each other. You both took a sip of your drinks, increasingly more content with enjoying the other’s company.    Leonard pulled his glass away from his lips. “But it at least has to have a flavor.”    “Water is healthy though.”    “Yes,” he agreed, a smile returning to his face. “No wonder I never see you in MedBay.”    “Just one less person on the crew for you to worry about,” you said, taking another sip of the cool liquid.    “Oh, I’ll always worry,” he shifted his weight between his feet, “we’re out here in space.”    “At least the ship is big enough, so we’re not reminded every waking minute.”    Leonard’s head tilted at your words.    The way he smiled and how his kind eyes held your gaze made you feel so at ease and understood. From this, you became more aware. The way he leaned against the bar mimicked your stance, but just enough so that he was eye level with you. You appreciated that.    Leonard raised his glass to you. “To forgetting our worries while in the vast dark dangers of space.”    Letting out a quiet laugh, you copied his gesture with your own glass. “And to great company.”    “And to great company,” he nodded, the feeling of his pinky finger gently brushing against yours sent a rapid warm sensation from the contact.    If you had thought that you were falling for the doctor before, you were absolutely spiraling. Though just as you were having what was left of your water, a voice made you jump out of your thoughts.    “Bones!” The captain called as he entered the room, happily approaching his friend.    Leonard’s face visibly fell in the slightest, but you were sure that there would surely be more opportunities for the two of you to talk again…without Jim Kirk.
I don't know if this counts as a prompt but maybe something with spock trying to comfort a reader that's dealing with depression by letting her lay her head on his lap and playing with her hair? I think it would be interesting, since Vulcans are touch-telepathy, to see what she's feeling through an outside perspective
Pairing: Spock x Reader Rating || Genres || Warnings: T. Romance. Angst. Hurt/Comfort. Depiction of depression. A/N: Thank you so much for sending in a Spock ask. I rarely get those. And yes this does count as a prompt.
Tumblr media
Sitting in the window seat of your room aboard the Enterprise, you could see the stars through your window. Anyone else would've marveled at the sight, at the stars as they glowed and twinkled against the dark emptiness of space.
Yet all you could focus on was the darkness.
The darkness in your mind, consuming your heart and taking over your body. You were unable to move, your limbs felt so heavy because of it. All you could do was breath, and even that felt tedious. And with every blink, your eyelids grew only heavier and yet you could not sleep. You did not want to sleep.
So instead you gazed out into the infinite space.
You were supposed to be on duty right then, but what was the point of it? Not like your absence would be noted. And even if you were on your post, what difference would you make? There were others who could do your work. Brilliant then you ever could be.
Not to mention they would be better suited to Spock.
Your body seemed to flinch physically as your heavy thought turned towards your soulmate.
But was he though?
Your soulmate?
Surely fate was playing with you. How could you be blessed with someone as brilliant and caring a significant other as Spock.
You were not suited for one another, everyone thought so and had said so. They thought it odd for the Commanding Science Officer to be with someone as average as you. A brief flash of.......something went through your soul, but it was gone just as soon as it came, consumed by the darkness.
Even thoughts of your partner were not enough to help you rid of the darkness. Perhaps you should walk away from it all at the next docking? Walk away from Spock so that he would have a chance of being with someone better.
Like Uhura. You had seen the two of them work together, and you knew she had held feelings for him in the past. Perhaps if you were out of the equation, Spock would have chosen Uhura as his partner?
So consumed in your thoughts, you didn't even notice when the door to your room opened at the person occupying your mind entered. It wasn't until he neared you that you turned to look at him. For a few moments, the both of you simply stared at one another.
You drank in the sight of him standing there. Perfect posture as always, with barely any emotion in sight, and yet his eyes held something you had never seen in them before.
You couldn't quite place it for what it was.
"You were not at your Station today Y/N, are you not feeling well?" He asked, his deep voice washing over you like a clam breeze would. You pulled your legs towards your body, wrapping your arms around them, in an effort to hold yourself together.
"I didn't feel like it." You simply answered, to which he frowned. "That is hardly a reason if one at all." He responded, running a cursory gaze over you, as if trying to determine the cause of your distress. He may be half-Vulcan, but Spock had gotten rather good when it came to detecting your emotional state of being.
Though he did make a few mistakes here and there, which you always found adorable since he would try to explain why he came to the conclusion he did. Memories rose within your mind, unbidden and........unwanted.
You quickly shut them down, this time allowing the darkness to swirl around the memories and be consumed.
You turned your head away from him to stare out into space once more. "Are you here to break up with me?"
You could only see his reflection in the glass of the window, but you did not miss the way he stiffened even more. His jaw clenched as did his hands from where they hung on either side of him. "No." There was an almost aggressive tone to his words when he spoke. "I am not here to terminate our relationship, Y/n."
Silence.
"I am here because I admit your behavior has caused me a significant amount of worry over the past few days."
At his words guilt gnawed at your heart, prompting you to release a frustrating sigh. "I didn't mean to." You whispered in a pathetically small voice as you buried your face in your knees.
You felt him move to sit down in front of you. The window seat was just big enough to fit the both of you, though his thigh still brushed against your bare toes. His voice was soft and gentle when he spoke again.
"I am sure you had no intentions of causing me distress, but that is not what concerns me." Slowly one of his hands reached out to gently place it on your knee, just a few inches from the top of your head.
"What concerns me at the moment is how you not eaten or slept properly in days. I have also observed how you have drawn into yourself and have even taken to avoiding me at times." He leaned towards you, and for once, when you lifted your head, you could see every emotion he felt in that moment play about his features.
"Have I caused you distress in some way Y/n?" He spoke gently, his gaze soft and so full of yearning that it only broke your heart. Perhaps that was why you replied as quickly as you did.
And truthfully.
"Because I do not deserve you." The softness stayed, though the yearning was replaced by confusion as he frowned at you.
"And how have you reached to such a conclusion? Have you been over-thinking on things as you claim you do at times?"
No response followed his apt observation. You only held his gaze, your eyes silently pleading with him to help you.
But how?
A thought occurred to him. Perhaps it could work?
"Will you allow me to test something, Y/n?" He asked, as polite and gentle as ever. Your curiosity won over your initial hesitation and you gave a small nod. Adjusting himself to sit properly, he gently grasped your wrist and guided you out of your position.
Your heavy limbs did not protest as he adjusted your body. Every brush of his hand against yours was like a hand parting through the darkness that shrouded you.
A moment later, you found yourself in an entirely unexpected position. You were laying on your side on the window seat, with your head in Spock's lap. Feeling a little confused you turned your head slightly so you could look at him.
As your eyes met, you felt the first stroke of his fingers through your hair. Your confusion must've been evident in your gaze since he spoke.
"When I was young, and sometimes my emotions would get the best of me, my mother would lay my head in her lap and simply stroke my hair. And as impractical as it is, it helped calm me."
His fingers continued to play with your soft strands. "And I thought perhaps it would help you as well." You had known Spock for quite some time now, and you could account for only a few moments when he had appeared unsure of himself.
And this was one of them.
Your eyes appeared less dull as you whispered a quiet thank you to him. He made no response, simply continuing in his ministrations. Slowly your eyes fluttered before closing completely as you drifted off.
Though it wasn't sleeping that you were doing.
                                             ————————–
Your eyes opened to be greeted by darkness. Though it was a strange sort of darkness that swirled and drifted around you. And you were able to see yourself despite the darkness.
And Spock from where he stood beside you.
"Wh-what just-weren't we in my room?" You stammered as you looked around in confusion. He nodded. "We never left your quarters Y/n. We are simply in your mind."
You blinked at him, mouth agape. "What?"
He turned to look at you. "I believe your distressed state of being compelled me to mind meld with you." You opened your mouth to respond, but was cut off by a dark smokey tendril suddenly darting out and grabbing you by the wrist as it began to tug you into the swirling black mist.
A small cry fell from your lips as you tried your best to escape. It took both Spock and you to fight off the much stronger entity. You fell against Spock as you watched the tendril recede into the dark mist. "It would seem that whatever is in your mind is attempting to take you under completely." His grip on your shoulders was firm as he held you with your back against his chest.
"D-Do you think there is a way to fight it?" You sounded hopeless and more then a little terrified. Perhaps that was what compelled Spock to turn you around and grasp both your hands in his. "Not if I have anything to say in the matter." He said, raising your hands to bring them to his lips. The act of affection was a little out of character for him, but perhaps he was simply afraid of loosing you.
The thought warmed your heart and a small smile pulled at your lips. Suddenly you caught sight of something over his shoulder. "Spock, look." You whispered.
There, in a small patch of light stood you. You looked younger and you were speaking to.....Spock. "How can there be two of us?" You asked to which Spock shook his head. "That is absurd Y/n. There are not two of us, that is a memory. Your memory." He clarified.
"Oh." You watched as the memory you quickly reached up to peck memory Spock's cheek before darting away. A smile curved your lips. "That was the first time I kissed you."
"And made your feelings known to me." Spock added, watching as his memory self stood there in a shocked daze. "I believe it took me a few days to come to terms with the fact that you wished to pursue a relationship." You nodded, not even noticing as the dark mist shifted around you, receding.
"You came over to my room a few days later. With flowers." Another memory formed in the mist, this time of you opening the door to reveal Spock standing there with flowers. "Yes well, Mother advised me to go call on you with flowers." He couldn't help but notice the green tinge to his cheeks in the memory from where he had been flushed a little from nervousness.
Though he would forever deny it.
"I think I still have one of the flowers. I keep it pressed between the pages of a poetry book I love." You admitted, sighing almost dreamily as you watched the memory play out. Slowly it faded, only to be replaced by another.
Which was a little intense this time, to say the least.
All you could make out was two figures tangled in a passionate embrace, in the semi-darkness of what looked like a bedroom. "Oh!" You mouthed, a blush rising to your cheeks as a giggle erupted from your lips. "And I believe this is the first time when you and I........" Spock trailed off, though he didn't need to finish his sentence. You reached out to grasp his hand and smile up at him. "It was one of the best nights of my life." You admitted, to which he offered a smile back, reaching up to brush a stray hair behind your ear as he did. "As it was for myself as well."
Slowly, but surely, the dark mist began to disappear as your mind replayed every moment you had ever shared with Spock. Some of them were from your viewpoints, and where your memory failed, Spock was there to fill in the gaps.
Soon you were laughing and smiling, feeling like your old self again. So glad to feel that way once more you reached up to wrap your arms around Spock in a hug as you buried your face in his chest, taking comfort in the presence of him.
"Thank you Spock. Thank you for rescuing me, for chasing away the darkness." His strong arms came around to envelope you further in his embrace. "I shall always be here to chase it away Y/n. Never doubt that."
It was then that the mind meld ended, and your eyes opened to find yourself laying in Spock's lap once more. He was gazing down at you, the concern evident in his deep eyes as he spoke.
"How do you fare? I realize mind melds can be rather taxing, especially on an untrained mind bu-" He was cut off by your lips which were now busy pressing kisses against his. You had quickly buried your fingers in his hair, as you shifted your body so you could sit on his lap.
His arms came around your waist, and though he was more then a little taken aback by your sudden kisses, he was quick to recover and return the passionate embrace.
And though you had been feeling a little bit of that darkness linger, the emotions you had felt while reliving your entire story with Spock, had overwhelmed you. In the best of ways. And you had to let those feelings out before your heart burst.
"My T'hy'la." You whispered against his lips, prompting him to stiffen, which also had you pulling back to look at him. This was the first time either of you had voiced the word out loud. You knew what it meant to him, and you wanted him to know of the true depth of your feelings for him.
Slowly you reached down to take one of his hands, bringing it up only to allow your fingers to meet in a traditional Vulcan kiss. Finally, Spock smiled back, his eyes full of pure affection as he whispered. "My T'hy'la."
You let out a relieved laugh, which was muffled by the press of his lips to yours. And while your lips pushed the very boundaries of the kiss you shared, your hands never let go from where you had your fingers intertwined in a gesture that encompassed the very essence of what the both of you meant to one another.
Soulmates.
thinking of a fic where carol marcus comes back on board the enterprise for whatever reason and, while she's relieved dr mccoy isnt relentlessly hitting on her, shes also annoyed that he barely even acknowledges her existence. turns out he's not doing it to be malicious or ignoring her on purpose, he's just now with y/n and has no eyes or interest for anyone else - the man is stupidly in love.
"So all of the information about this culture that we have been able to discover will be on your pads for easy access if needed. The clothes we have given you are similar to those from the opposite side of the planet. Your translators are well hidden and should not be able to be seen by them. Hopefully they assume you are just visiting and don't ask too many questions."
You nodded along as Commander Riley spoke. You tried to swallow down your anxieties and focus on the mission at hand. Figure out where the strong energy source you detected is coming from, find out if it is harming the natives, stop it if it is, don't expose them to the knowledge of alien life, leave, and move on.
"You ready Y/n?" A soft voice asked, breaking you from your thoughts.
Looking over, you saw Pike staring at you as he adjusted his bag. You nodded and gave him a small smile "Always."
He smiled in return "Good. Should be a walk in the park, remember, we're just visitors."
You nodded again in understanding as your eyes traced down the delicate red markings along his temple and neck, mimicking the same markings of the aliens. You wondered if you pulled them off as well as he seemed to.
The two of you managed to beam down without hassle, and made your way quickly towards the small village. A few people stopped and looked at you out of curiosity, but no one seemed alarmed.
Once you got closer to the center of town, you felt your anxieties rise when one of the native aliens approached you. You could tell by their more ornate dress that they were higher up on the societal scale.
"Greetings!" They said with a cheery voice that was translated directly to you "Welcome visitors to Machella!"
You and Pike smiled at him "Greetings!" Pike responded.
"I am pleased to welcome you, it is not often we get travelers through this area, but we are always pleased when we do!"
You felt the weight on your chest lighten as he politely greeted you. "I am Tixil, and this-" They motioned to another alien who approached their side "Is my spouse Henet"
"It is a pleasure to meet you, my name is Pike, and this is my spouse Y/n."
You felt your heart jump in your chest as you side-eyed Pike. Before hand you had decided to say you were simply just business partners hoping to expand your trade to new locations. Suddenly being his spouse threw you off.
The alien opened his arms "And how long do we expect you to stay with us?"
You finally spoke up "Only a short time, if there is a place of shelter we could stay that is. We would not want to impose on anyone."
"No, of course not! We have plenty of room for visitors!" Henet broke in cheerfully. "We will show you! Please, follow us!"
As you began to follow Tixil and Henet you stayed close to Pike.
"They seem like great people, I'm glad." He commented.
You nodded your head in agreement before you responded "What happened to us being business partners?"
You saw Pike side-eye you briefly as his lip quirked up a bit. "I thought it would be better in the moment. Form a sort of similarity between them, make them more comfortable. Besides, we can still be business partners."
It was clear in his voice that he was not being entirely truthful, which only made you wonder more about why he changed your cover. You felt a constant warmth in your ears, and butterflies in your stomach at the thought.
--- --- ---
As you looked around the bustling village streets, you smiled softly. You thought back on the last few days you had spent in Machella.
You and Pike were both relieved to find the energy source you had detected was simply a heating source for the city during the winter months, and caused no harm to the people on the planet.
Of course you assumed that meant it was time to leave and go back to the Enterprise. But when you were approached by Tixil and Henet, who insisted you stay a few days longer to attend a yearly festival, you were stunned when Pike enthusiastically agreed. He stated it was to learn more about their culture, but part of you felt that it was more than that
Over the last few days, as you and Pike had been pretending to be a married couple, things started to change. You slept in the same room, each night back to back, both of you pretending that you did not wake up in each others arms in the middle of the night. Neither of you knowing the other knew it too.
You spent most of your time within arms reach. You showed small signs of affection when others watched you. You even came up with a backstory about your relationship. During all of this, you were alarmed at how, comfortable, it felt, and at times it felt as though you were not acting at all.
Thinking back on the moment when you and Pike told a tale of your meeting and courting, you were startled when he took your hand in his, and pressed a kiss to the back of it. You were able to hide your surprise, but there was a moment when your eyes met, where you think something changed. A tension that had always been there between the two of you, starting to break.
"Y/n."
You broke from your thoughts as you looked to your left, seeing Pike watching you. As he approached you you smiled softly at him, noticing the immediate quickening of your heartbeat.
"You look great." He commented, and you flt your cheeks heat up.
Some locals had provided the two of you with colorful clothes to wear to the ceremony. They accented your figure well, and as Chris's eyes seemed to graze over you, you were glad you hid your bashfulness well.
"Thank you, as do you."
"The festival is starting." he held out his arm for you to take as he smiled at you "Shall we?"
You felt butterflies rampage through your body as you smiled and nodded as you looped your arms through his "We shall."
The festival was an array of flowers, foods, colorful garments, music, and dancing. Dances that didn't seem too different than some you knew.
Pike seemed to notice this as well as he leaned down at spoke softly "Would you like to dance with me?"
You felt your ears heat up as you met his eyes "Why do you know this one?" Your voice was a little teasing.
Looking back at the people dancing he shrugged his head a bit "Just looks like normal dancing to me, shouldn't be too hard."
Meeting your eyes again he smiled as he reached out his hand. Slowly taking it, he lead you closer to the others. As you began dancing, in what you hoped looked normal to everyone else, you felt you heart beating heavily in your chest.
His hands were wrapped around your waist, your hands placed on his shoulder and chest. You copied the swaying movements of the couples next to you.
As your eyes locked, you felt a similar feeling like you had a couple days prior. That tension beginning to break.
You felt him pull you a bit closer to him as his eyes stayed glued to yours. You could feel his heart beating underneath your hand, and you were sure it was just as rapid as yours.
After a moment of silence, he finally spoke. "I've enjoyed our time here."
You nodded "So have I."
"Uh, I lied to you before."
You frowned a bit "When?"
"The day we got here. When I said I told Tixil and Henet we were married because it might make them more comfortable."
You replied almost tentatively "So that's not why you did it?"
He shook his head softly "I really just liked the idea."
A soft smile crossed your face "The idea of what exactly? Playing make pretend?"
"Being married to you." He saw the surprise in your eyes and smiled. "I like the idea of being with you in general, actually."
Feeling that tension break, you let out a soft breath. You were sure the astonishment you were feeling was clear on your face as he smiled with mild amusement.
"I didn't think you'd be that surprised, after all I thought you might feel the same. Unless I've been a complete fool."
Finally finding your words, you shook your head "No, no you're not a fool Chris, I do feel the same. I just...I'm surprised you're admitting it."
He cocked his head a little "Why?"
"Well, nothing can happen between us, can it?"
He shrugged lightly as he hummed "I wouldn't worry about that."
You rose one brow "I don't know if I feel confident with that response."
He grinned down at you "Just take my word for it, it'll be fine. Things have a tendency of working out for me."
"That I have noticed."
He chuckled as he pulled you even closer, so you were flush against him. You noticed his eyes flick down to your lips briefly.
Meeting your eyes again, he stared deeply at you for a moment before he spoke in a whisper "Can I kiss you?"
Your heart was beating so fiercely, you swore you could both hear it. Nodding softly you whispered back "Yes."
Leaning in slowly, his lips brushed yours lightly before he kissed you deeply. You had both stopped moving, standing still in each other's arms as you kissed.
Forgetting where you were for a moment, you broke away in surprise as cheers were shouted out around you. Looking around, you saw Tixil and some others begin dancing around you as they placed a large circlet of flowers around the two of you. Nearby were a few more couples with similar garlands around them.
You and Chris looked at each other and let out amused, yet confused chuckles.
As Tixil began to yell out something in a language your translator failed to translate, you watched in bewilderment as others cheered and through a sparkly powdery substance over all of you.
"What's happening?" Chris muttered as he pulled you close to him.
"Hell if I know." You said with a bewildered smile.
As a few others chanted something as well, and they all began cheering, you and Chris locked eyes with mutual confusion. Tixil and Henet walked over to you and bowed briefly as they grinned at you.
"I am so glad you were both able to stay for the re-joining ceremony, it is such a pleasure to re-affirm the love between spouses."
As they walked away to speak to the other couples, you and Chris turned to look at each other.
"Re-joining?" He muttered.
You stared at him with an agape stare before you wondered out loud "Chris, did they just...marry us?"
He nodded quickly "I think so."
"Wow, okay. Is this what you meant by things always working out for you, and that I shouldn't worry about it?"
He looked down at you "Not exactly what I meant, no."
After a moment you both let out bewildered laughs as he pulled you close to him again. "Out of all the things that could have happened here, this is definitely not something I would have expected. But-" gently brushing some of the sparkly powder from your face he grinned "It's definitely one of the better things."
You smiled up at him "It's definitley one of the fastest moving relationships I've ever had."
"I think I can say the same." He chuckled.
"So what now?" You asked with a heavy hint of perplexion in your tone.
He shrugged a bit as he looked around "How's a honeymoon sound?"
You let out a laugh but smacked him lightly "No, seriously Chris, this isn't exactly what Starfleet command will expect from our mission."
"Well it was an honest accident, and we couldn't risk exposing our lies to the natives to get out of it, so...it is what it is, I think."
"So, we are now married on planet ZZ-1?"
He smiled down at you and nodded a bit "Look's like it." He looked around, seeing others beginning to dance again. Taking step back, he reached out his hand "So, what do you say Mx. Pike? Dance with me again?"
You let out a baffled laugh as you shook your head in astonishment but placed your hand in his. Pulling you towards him again, he grinned down at you in a mix of amusement and glee. This was definitley going down as one of his favorite missions he's ever gone on.
xx End xx
This was so much better in my head, but I could not for the life of me write it out how I wanted. But whatever, I hope you like it~
