Hi! I hope you're doing okay with your exams and remembering to look after yourself ☺️
I was wondering if i could request a fluffly Black siblings fic (non-platonic relationships are irrelevant so they could be whatever if you wanted to include one). Reader is Regulus' twin and they're exhausted. Being prefects to the Slytherins isn't always easy, add quiddich and being top students, there isnt enough hours to get enough uninterupted sleep. So they break into the gryffindor tower and nap in Sirius bed instead because at the end of the day he's their big brother and he'll always look after them. When the Marauders get back to their dorm, he's the first to walk in and just pauses, he hasnt noticed them yet but its like big brother mode is activated and he just knows the others need to shut up immediately and it takes him a few minutes (and Remus' observation) that his bed is occupied.
Then the whole fluff thing is up to you between the siblings. I firmly believe Sirius would be the best big brother he could be. Anyway, tysm for taking the time to read my request ♥︎
A/N: thank you for sending this! I kind of freestyled it, as I was writing is. The form of headcanons made sense in my mind- and I always wanted to write something in this format 🤭🩶
Sirius Black masterlist
Sirius Black as an older brother headcanons:
-despite your family and his disownment you are close to him and admire him
-but ever since that summer, you've grown apart
-he can be overprotective but will never show it to you
-one night he sees you in his bed
-it reminds him of home
-when you wanted to escape your parents or when you couldn't sleep at night you would run to his bed, and curl up in his blankets
-he would sit on the floor holding your hand
-he would tell you stories of his adventures with the marauders or he would softly sing his favorite Muggle songs (Bowie)
-"There is no way you four idiots were able to pull that off" you would laugh, "Shut up, and you better watch out next year, or you might end up with feathers and glue all over your hair", he'd reply and you'd both laugh together
-when you'd finally fall asleep he would cry, his mind reminding him of his parents and all the fights
-you pretended to be asleep
-“Prongs, be quiet.”, he would tell James the moment his eyes land on you, his protective side making an appearance
“Come on, I think I saw Lily by the fireplace”, Remus would tell the guys so they could leave you alone
-he would take your shoes off and any uncomfortable piece of clothing you had on
-drape a blanket over you
-he wouldn’t leave you though
-he would stay with you for a minute and watch over you
-he hasn’t been home for a while and he feels guilty for leaving you and Regulus alone
-so he sits by his bed, like he used to do
-his head leans on the mattress and his hand lightly touches yours
-"I am sorry", he would whisper
-sorry for leaving, sorry for not being strong enough to fight for you and Regulus. Sorry that he can't protect you, be the older brother he is supposed to be
-he doesn't know that he is the best brother you could have asked for
-he doesn't know how much you love him, how the thought of him safe at the Potters house, brings you hope; hope that one day you will escape also, you will find your true family, like he did.
-he definitely doesn't know how much he inspires you
-you want to fight for the world, fight for everything he believes in, for everything you also believe in, thanks to him
-he drifts off, with the thought of you three as children; playing together, House rivalry and blood purity, concepts completely unknown
A/N: this was interesting and I would definitely like to explore Sirius as an older brother sometime. But, this is the best I could do, for now... Thank you for requesting this, and thank you for your kind message <3

Yes - 3/3 posted; complete
Summary:
If anyone had asked Sirius Black, he could have told them that Remus would certainly be a great boyfriend. Well, actually, the times that girls asked him about Remus he had actually told them about his less endearing qualities. The way he protected his hoard of chocolate like a fire breathing dragon, for example. How he could get obsessive with studying. His tendency to shut down and stop talking when he was stressed. But, look, if they weren't prepared to embrace Remus at his grumpiest they didn't deserve him. He was just doing his friend a favor. That's all. -- Sirius is pining, Regulus has his first crush, Remus has absolutely no idea how he's ended up here.
Prompt Text:
Fifteen year old Regulus has a debilitating crush on his brother's best friend. When he confides to his brother that he is gay, Sirius is very supportive and asks who he is interested in so that he can give brotherly relationship advice. But once Regulus tells him who his crush is, Sirius's changes his tune because he has been pining after the same boy for years. A boy who currently has a girlfriend. The brothers enter into an all-holds-barred competition to win the heart of Remus Lupin. Who will win? The cunning Slytherin or the dashing Gryffindor? You decide!

James punched... SNAPE!!!
Yes. I love this fic, officially. I am gonna follow it. I like...
He punched Snape for being a, and I quote, "bastard git" to Harry.
In front of Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws that were held back for a whole hour.
And the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws were looking at James in awe.
Perfect.
He helped prove Sirius innocent. Sirius is free, and when the ministry made Remus hold a silver coin he yelled something to the effect of "Let it go" and...
He punches Snape and then tells Snape to let go of the Grudge Snape has against him. HE SAYS THAT AFTER PUNCHING SNAPE!!! And is now trying to be friendly with him and...
There were a few points at first that I did not like, but they were because of a creature so...
Its a good fic and I like how quite a few of the characters are potrayed.
Although, I would like it if they trusted Dumbledore less... You can't have all the good points unless you make a fic yourself so.
In short, if you have similar points like me thatyou look for in a "James comes back to life" fic; James punching Snape for being a git, James freeing Sirius, James standing up for Remus, Remus and Sirius getting jobs (I am not exactly sure on whether they got jobs but it sure sounds like it soo..), them caring for the others but then refusing help when they need it, James and Harry, protective James, the twins finding out about The murauders maps origins, mystery, etc. Then this fic might be the fic for you, I do recommend. The only thing is that grammatical and spelling mistake happen a lot. But I am not holding that against her.
If Lady Guena is here, then I just want to say congrats on this fic. I like it very much.
Once I complete reading this fic, I will review

Tumblr media
It’s no secret that James is protective over you; it’s never been questioned by any of the marauders that you’re his, and although they’re all fond of you, first and foremost you’re James’ girl. He’s the first person you think about in the morning, the last at night and he takes care of you in any way that he can.
The other boys have already vacated the dorm this morning, the only presence remaining being you and James; you’re tucked right into his side, head under his armpit and legs hooked around him like a little koala. He grins down at you with the most affectionate expression, brushing your messy hair off of your face and kissing your forehead. You grumble at the movement, turning away from the gentle touch and nestling your face into your own arms.
“Ah, ah,” James laughs, pulling you back up and towards him. You whine, rubbing your eyes with your fists in a manner that has him cooing.
“Daddy…” you protest, droopy eyes landing on him, his own dark curls mussed and sticking up at every angle imaginable.
“I know, baby love. It’s time, though.”
“It’s Saturday!”
“That’s why we’re the only ones in here. We’ve slept in plenty, bunny.”
“Hmph.”
He chuckles, lifting you onto his lap to get a better view of your face; your eyes flutter open and closed with how tired you are and you murmur softly, pawing at his chest and drooping down to rest on top of him.
“No, no. Up we get,” he encourages, bouncing you in his hold.
“Nuh uh,” you complain as he stands, forcing you to wrap your legs around his waist to keep from falling.
“Yuh huh,” he counters, kissing your cheek. You sigh, rubbing your eyes again in an attempt to stay awake and alert. “C’mon, what are we wearing today?”
“What we doin’?” you ask quietly.
“Well, we’ve got Hogsmeade today, so the boys and I are gonna get some stuff from the joke shop. And I spose you’ll want to get some sweeties, yeah? And then we’ll go and get some lunch and drinks. Sound good?”
“Mhm,” you hum happily, giddy with excitement for what the day has in store. “Siri comin’?”
“Siri is coming,” he affirms, smiling at your happy giggle; you and Sirius are practically inseparable, and although the raven haired boy is surly and unapproachable to people he dislikes, he utterly adores you.
You skip to the wardrobe, picking out your outfit — which of course consists of your favourite skirt and James’ sweatshirt — and letting James help you into it. He rolls the sleeves up despite your protests, chuckling when you nuzzle into the fabric, inhaling deeply. He ties your hair into two low bunches, dressing himself in an almost identical sweatshirt to the one he’s given to you. Gazing intently into his eyes, you urge him to move faster.
“C’mon, daddy! Time to go!”
You’ve been restless ever since Sirius’ name was mentioned and you’re desperate to find him.
“Steady, baby love,” he laughs as you practically vibrate on your way down to the Great Hall. Your eyes flit from side to side, desperately searching for your best friend. When you spot Remus, you squeal, bouncing on your toes and tugging on James’ sleeve. “Go on, sweetheart,” he encourages, nudging you towards the tall boy. You giggle, running so fast that Remus grabs you with both hands, steadying you.
“Hi, Remmy,” you lilt, batting your lashes at him; you smile like butter wouldn’t melt in your mouth and Remus chuckles, squeezing your cheek affectionately.
“Hi, sweetheart,” he laughs, holding his arms out for a hug. You oblige, hugging him tight even as you bounce in his hold. He senses your excitement, whispering in your ear quietly, “There’s Siri. Go on.”
You squeak when you spot the dark haired boy, making a beeline for him at practically a sprint.
“Siri!” you screech.
“Hi, bun bun!” he yells back, colliding with you at full speed; you both grunt, tumbling to the floor in a heap of limbs. Remus and James wince at the harsh landing and you open your eyes to James standing above you.
“Y’alright, bunny?”
“‘M fine, daddy,” you giggle, grinning crookedly as Sirius wraps his arms around you and squeezes.
“Too tight,” you wheeze, rolling out of his grip. James peels you off of the floor, standing you up and brushing the now loose hair out of your face. Remus does the same to Sirius, taming his wild hair by tying it in a ponytail at the bottom of his head; he grumbles, swatting indignantly at Remus’ hands as you giggle, leaning into James.
“What’chu laughing at?” he mumbles, crossing his arms and pouting. Remus kisses his puffed out lips, effectively killing the tantrum before it starts.
“Nothin’,” you sing-song, turning your attention to James, “Daddy?” you whisper.
“Yes, bunny?” he whispers back, mimicking your cute, hushed tone.
“Kiss?” Cocking your head in that adorable way you know he can’t resist, you pucker your own lips, standing on your tiptoes. He promptly presses his lips to yours, cupping your cheeks in his large hands.
“Better?” he laughs.
“Mhm.” You frown as a ravenclaw girl catches your eye, elbowing her friend and smirking as they whisper to each other and point, obviously wanting you to see them. Your cheeks burn and you look at your feet, already close to tears.
“Don’t look at them, look at me, baby love.” James, ever so perceptive, has already spotted the girls making nasty remarks about you and is trying his best to distract you.
“Sorry,” you mumble, tears welling behind your waterline. Your lower lip quivers and James coos. Tilting your chin up, he kisses you again.
“Daddy loves you,” he says as soon as he pulls away. “So, so much, bunny.”
“I love you,” you sniffle, “‘M bein’ such a baby.”
“My baby,” he says softly, kissing the crown of your head. “My best baby, my beautiful baby.”
Sirius’ arms suddenly wrap around you from behind and he blows a raspberry in your ear, laughing hysterically as you turn and tug at his ponytail, sticking your tongue out. You growl softly, clearly vexed, but Sirius’ intention was successful — you’re distracted. James wipes the wetness out of your ear, taking your hand in his large one.
“Time to go,” he chuckles, pushing Sirius towards his own boyfriend.
By the time you arrive at Hogsmeade, you and Sirius are delirious with excitement, the prior incident forgotten about in favour of the day ahead of you.
First, you head to the joke shop; you and Sirius have tons of fun with games of exploding snap, trying your hardest to make the other jump. When the boys have purchased absolutely everything they want, you head straight to the sweet shop. You keep attempting to run off down your favourite aisles until James snorts, picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder. Every once in a while, you’ll chime out a “Look, daddy!” and he’ll grab whatever has caught your eye. By the end, you’re drowning in sweets, clutching the paper bag to your chest like treasure.
You make your way to the Three Broomsticks, skipping with your hand in James’ and your other arm looped through Sirius’. The four of you snag a booth, sliding in each side; you stick your hand straight into your bag, pulling out a red lollipop and unwrapping it.
“‘S a heart, daddy!” you giggle happily, lifting his arm so you can tuck yourself securely into his side; he grabs your legs, draping them over his lap and kissing your exposed knees. His eyes are soft and full of adoration and it makes you smile. You wonder how one person can love you this much that he even gives the unattractive and plain parts of you so much love.
“You thirsty, pup?” Remus asks Sirius, running a hand through his untamed hair. He nods, craning into the touch. James kisses your neck, sliding out of the booth behind Remus.
“Butterbeer, yeah?” James asks; you both nod, matching lopsided grins on your faces. Sirius scoots over next to you and you hand him a lollipop, grinning as he unwraps it and pops it straight in his mouth.
“Dis is fun,” he garbles around the sweet, leaning into you slightly; you laugh, poking him. He pokes you back until you’re both laying down on the seat, incoherent with laughter. James and Remus observe the whole thing whilst they collect your drinks. Sirius’ face is flushed as he grabs for you, pulling on your bunches and shouting triumphantly as you squeal.
“Alright, settle down,” Remus chides, grabbing Sirius and hauling him back onto the other side of the booth. Pouting, you fold your arms and whine.
“Oh, bunny,” James placates, “Remmy’s mean, taking Siri away, isn’t he?” You nod, doing your best frown at Remus, which only pulls a low laugh from the lanky boy. “‘S okay, sweetheart. Daddy’ll cuddle you.” That simmers your brewing tantrum wonderfully and you snuggle into James’ side, pressing the side of your face to his sweatshirt as he holds the glass full of butterbeer to your lips, tipping slowly.
“Look!” you snort, gesturing to the line of foam gathered on your top lip, “Got a moustache!” Sirius rolls his eyes playfully.
“You can’t grow a moustache.”
“I so can!”
The debate goes on until it’s time to leave, by which point you’re stifling yawns and laying on top of James, your face pressed into his neck.
“C’mon, it’s time to go,” he coos, prying you off of him and standing.
“Piggyback me?” you ask innocently, eyes fluttering sleepily; how could he ever say no to you? He wants you to have everything you’ve ever wanted and more. He lifts you onto his back, not moving until your legs are secure around him.
You doze quietly on the carriage ride back, curled in James’ lap. By the time you wake, you’re in his bed.
“Oh, hi, bunny,” he murmurs, tugging you closer into his side. You grumble, clambering on top of him with as much grace as a newborn deer.
“Fell ‘sleep,” you mumble, “Are you mad?”
“Never, baby. You were tired.” He kisses your forehead. “Look, Siri’s already asleep, too. You just had so much fun it tired you out!
“Mmm,” you giggle, glancing at Remus and Sirius, both asleep wrapped in each other’s arms. James pulls the duvet further over the pair of you, pecking your lips and letting you settle comfortably on his chest.
“Ni ni, daddy,” you murmur, kissing his bare shoulder, “Love, love, love you.”
“Love, love, love you more, bunny.”
“Nuh uh,”
You’re snoring quietly before James can answer you, fingers curled around the thick blanket and breaths soft and tickling his bare skin. One thing is for sure — you had a good day.

•••
You're curious; that's all there is to it. You're desperate to open the complex folds of parchment and reveal whatever may be inside – that is, your boyfriend didn't tell you what it was before accidentally leaving it on his desk. And now he was gone, attempting to rally up the rest of the boys and prevent them from doing a reckless prank or two, leaving you alone to fight your urge to open it.
And it's stupid, really, but you give in. You sit down carefully on the desk – attempting not to make any noise, although not another soul is in the room – and pick up the paper.
You clasp gentle fingers around it, trying to open it up, but it doesn't open. It's as if it's locked; so you pull out your wand and tap it gently, reciting a quiet “Alohamora”.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work, and you berate yourself mentally for not realizing that Remus, along with the others, the master of all spells and tricks, would make it as simple as that.
You huff in annoyance, turning it around and inspecting the small lettering and drawings scrawled there.
Suddenly, you jump out of your seat, practically throwing the paper across the room when you hear the boys entering the room, clamoring loudly and speaking over one another.
“Where’d you put it, Moons? We need it, now,” Sirius asks, clearly annoyed.
“I don't want to give it to you if you're going to be gits about it–” the lycanthrope pauses as he turns around, finally setting his eyes on you. You're curled into the chair, worried you'll be chided for looking at this clearly important thing in the first place.
There's a few moments of silence, and Remus walks over to you, leaning against the wall flush to his desk. You open your mouth to speak, but Remus does the same.
“I'm sorry–”
“Now, what did you find?” Remus’s voice overpowers yours, for the cadence is slower and deeper, but it's not haranguing in the least; he, like you, is merely curious.
“I-I dunno,” you respond, eyes wide, and Sirius fights back laughter in the background, with James sitting opposite him wearing a prideful smirk.
“Well, I think you have what these twats want,” he says, shooting them a pointed glare, then looking back to you. He offers out his hands for you to give him back the paper, and you do so, cowering back into your chair, still scared of being reprimanded for looking through his private items.
“I'm sorry, I–” you begin, but Remus merely smiles.
“Don't be sorry. Y’were bound to find out somehow,” he says, fetching his wand from his back pocket.
“What-what is it?” you ask, now eyes wide with inquisition rather than fear. He doesn't respond, but he grins, raising an eyebrow and tapping the paper with his wand - much like you did.
“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
The map - yes, you can see it's a map now - unfolds, intricacies making themselves seen as it flattens into a complex web of footsteps and pathways on the faded parchment.
You exhale in pure bewilderment, eyes wide and mouth agape.
“The marauder's map,” James says from the other side of the room, grin plastering his features, and Sirius has a similar one embellishing his.
“What does it do?” you finally ask, leaning toward Remus to get a better look at it.
“Hmm… Have a look up in that corner, yeah, there,” he says, and you point your finger to where you are - the Gryffindor tower - and find four pairs of footsteps in a dorm room. This door room.
And sure enough, there is one pair of footsteps directly next to another; one is labeled “Remus Lupin” and the other “Y/N L/N”.
You take in a sharp inhale, looking up at Remus, who has a shit-eating grin on his face, and then he straightens up to take a step. Your eyes flick from him, walking across the dorm to James, and to the map, which mirrors his movements exactly.
“Did- how did you make this?” you ask, eyebrows furrowing in inquiry, and if possible, Remus’s smile gets even wider.
“Take a few spells, tap into the ward system that Hogwarts already has… easy going, really!” Remus says, biting his lip as he grins again.
“Says the man that took four months to make it, let alone thinking up the idea since we fuckin’ got here,” James jabs with a roll of his eyes and a smirk, and Remus punches him in the arm, scrunching his nose.
“Hey, Prongs, I helped too,” Sirius pouts in feigned annoyance, and Remus scoffs.
“If by helping you mean telling me exactly who on the map we've pranked and attempting to list off every student in the whole bloody school, then sure, Pads, you helped,” the sandy-haired boy replies, raising his eyebrows.
“Oh fuck off, I got to about seventy.”
“The greatest wizard in our year! An uncanny ability to list off names of his peers! Get this man an award!” James says with great bravado, slapping his hands to his cheeks and getting up to kneel below Sirius.
“Bugger off, you two, or I'll maul you as Padfoot.”
“Ah! the big bad wolf! Let me protect you, Y/N, or he’ll come for our necks!” Remus says, holding back laughter, but you don't. You're giggling obsessively as the boy runs over to sweep you in his arms, feigning a growl at Sirius and guarding you with his limbs.
Sirius laughs, but it's distorted as he transforms into his animagus, a large, fluffy black dog, and runs at you.
He jumps at you – not with any attention to hurt, of course – and paws at your shoulders, grinning his doggy grin and you reach your arms from Remus’s grasp to ruffle the fur behind his ears.
A few minutes of gentle playfighting pass, and after your laughter subsides you're able to focus your attention back on the map.
You've moved to the couch now, and you're sprawled across Remus’s lap with his hands playing delicately with your hair. Sirius, the dog that is, is lying on top of you, and you're petting him idly as James rattles on about his latest endeavor with Lily.
The map catches your eye again, and you pick it up, diverting your attention from the dog on your lap and to your wand. You recite the words as Remus told you, and it opens, revealing two footsteps on top of each other where you're sitting.
James stops talking, and you look up at Remus.
“Where's Pads?” you ask, and the mess of fur on top of you perks his head up at the mention of his name.
“It doesn't show people in their animagus form,” Remus explains.
“Ah, that's why the animagus shit is useful, huh? Other than the, y’know, full moon,” you say, and Remus nods, smiling at you. “It does show us overlaid on each other, though,” you observe with a raised eyebrow, and James scoffs in laughter.
“That means we can see you when you-”
“James,” Remus warns, cutting off the bespectacled boy with a firm look, and Sirius lets out his dog laugh (a sort of snort and shake of his big head). James holds his hands up as if in surrender, and you laugh.
“Just sayin’, don't try anything.”
“Oh believe me, I will have this with me at all times we are–”
“Fucking?” James interrupts bluntly, cocking his head to the side.
Remus sighs. “I was going to say alone.”
“Same thing,” you say quietly, giggling, and Remus fights back a smirk.
“Moving on very quickly from that,” the lycanthrope says after a few beats, and you grin, sitting up in his lap to cuddle into his chest. Sirius jumps up and into his human form, laying back onto the couch and opening his mouth to speak.
“Ah-” Remus chides, “no ruining it. Twas so nice when you were silent,” he sighs in feigned wistfulness, and you laugh.
“Fuck off, you twat,” Sirius says, beginning to ramble on again, and you nestle into Remus’s lap, inhaling his scent with your face in his neck.
“M’tired,” you speak into his collarbone after a few minutes, and he smiles, kissing your forehead.
“Sleep, pretty girl. I'll be here when you wake up.”

So my finger is actually broken and it made me think about the series where Remus took a stick to the face and Sirius took care of him if you’re willing to do another part to that so I can live vicariously that’d be great
Hey lovely! I’m so sorry for the massive delay on this fic--hopefully, your finger feels better soon <3 Coops and O’Knutzy credit goes to @lumosinlove!
This fic also includes Cap and Logan being brothers, O’Knutzy fluff, and my personal favorite ask of all time:
Anon: We have seen protective Leo in action and he is an absolute badass, but what about the other 2/3 of O’Knutzy. Because gods know they would all protect their fairy gay mother if anyone were to mess with him in the slightest
TW for bruising, swelling, injury
Read the rest of the series here!
“Where is he?” Leo demanded as soon as the door opened. His mother would have been appalled by his lack of manners, but he was too worried to bother with pleasantries. “Is he alright?”
Sirius raised his eyebrows. “Hello to you, too, Knut. Harzy, Lo, how’s it going?”
“Depends,” Finn said. “How’s our favorite rookie doing?”
Logan took a more direct approach and kicked Sirius lightly on the shin. “Move, I want to see my future beau-frère.”
“Are they here?” a rough voice called from the living room.
“Don’t get up, Loops!” Leo shouted down the hall, making a beeline for the kitchen. “Are you feeling okay?”
There was a muffled curse from the other room, followed by footsteps; Leo scowled. “I’m not made of glass,” Remus huffed as he shuffled into the room with an ice pack in his hand.
All three of them hissed in sympathy and Leo felt phantom pain in his nose at the wide bruise across Remus’ cheekbones. “You should go lay down again, dude.”
“You made me soup?”
“You can only have it if you promise to rest.”
“I don’t have a concussion.”
“Your face looks like someone biked over it.”
“Rude. I’ll call your mother.”
“You don’t have her number.”
Remus shot him a look and turned to the others, who were watching in clear amusement. “Tremzy, a hand?”
“Can’t tell you. I want soup.” Logan ruffled his hair as he walked past; Remus batted him away, but he was smiling. It was even more crooked than usual with the latent swelling, and Leo felt a pang in his chest when he noticed the missing dimples. He looked so…not Loops. “Où sont les casseroles?”
Finn frowned and glanced in the Tupperware. “That’s not casserole, Lo.”
Sirius reached up and pulled a large pot down from the cupboard. “Pots, Harz. You’ve been dating these two for almost a year and you still don’t know French?”
Finn hopped up on the counter. “Keeps things interesting.”
Leo blew him a kiss and received a wink in return, making them both laugh. “Thanks again for bringing this over,” Remus said as Leo turned the stove on and grabbed a wooden spoon.
“Anything for the rookie, right? You look better than last night.”
“Yeah?” Hope lit in Remus’ less-swollen eye; he was still bruised to hell and back, but the puffiness had gone own significantly and a good night’s sleep seemed to have done him good.
“No thanks to the captain,” Finn snorted, swinging his legs until Sirius whacked him on the thigh with a spoon. “I swear to god he was just fucking with us in the groupchat.”
Remus raised his eyebrows. “What did you do?”
“I told the truth!” Sirius protested. “I don’t know why they’re all pissy.”
“You were so vague,” Logan groaned. He pulled his phone out of his back pocket and scrolled through the texts, then cleared his throat. “Home safe. Re is fine—"
“Get over here—”
“—getting lots of cuddles from Hattie,” Logan continued, ducking out of Sirius’ reach as he read aloud. Leo stepped closer to the stove to let them both run past. “Thanks for the messages. Thanks for the messages? Thanks for the fucking messages?”
“That was pretty vague,” Remus agreed, hiding a smile behind his hand when Sirius finally snatched Logan’s phone away.
“I’m keeping this,” he threatened. “And I sent messages to people who reached out individually with questions, including your boyfriend.”
“Which one?” Logan asked with a smirk.
Sirius shook his head. “Knutty, will you be offended if I kick him out of the house?”
“Eh.” Leo shrugged, still stirring. “He could use some fresh air. Maybe put a bowl of water out with him.”
Logan grabbed a towel and rolled it up, snapping it at Leo’s ass; it connected with a sharp smack and he dodged the second attack by less than an inch. “Hey, cut it out!” Remus laughed. “He’s making me soup!”
“Yeah, Lo, we don’t want to leave the invalid in the hands of Cap’s cooking,” Finn drawled.
Sirius heaved a sigh. “You are all so mean to me.”
“I love you!” Remus said, putting a hand over his heart in mock-offense.
“You don’t trust my cooking either.”
He hesitated for half a second and Sirius spread his hands. “I trust most of your cooking. And all of your baking.”
Leo perked up. “Will you make cookies for us?”
“No.”
“Come on,” he wheedled as bubbles began forming around the edges of the soup. “You know you want to.”
“He made some for the block party two weeks ago,” Remus said with a grin, leaning over to smell the thick steam. “I’m domesticating him.”
“He’s like a feral cat. Once you let him in and feed him, he starts making cookies and never leaves.” Logan slotted himself between Finn’s knees for a cuddle with a devious glance at Sirius.
“I regret knowing you,” Sirius muttered; the slight twitch at the corner of his mouth gave him away, and Leo smiled to himself as he pulled a few bowls out of the nearest cabinet. “Soup’s ready?”
“Soup’s ready. Where are we eating?”
“Well, Loops is eating on the couch so he can rest,” Logan said, ignoring Remus’ eye roll.
“I’m fine.” All four of them gave him a skeptical look and he threw his hands in the air in exasperation. “Alright, we’ll eat in the living room and pretend I’m on my deathbed. Jesus Christ.”
Leo gave him a playful nudge as he handed him a bowl. “That’s what friends do, right?”
Remus’ face softened and he bumped him back. “This was really sweet of you, Knutty.”
“What was I supposed to do, leave you here alone with only your fiancé and your dog for company?” He looked behind the kitchen island and paused. “Speaking of, where’s my baby?”
“I’ll get her.” Sirius wandered out of the room and they heard the back door open a moment later; after a few seconds of muffled noise, Hattie came barreling into the room in all her long-legged glory. One side of her fur was mussed into bedhead, but Finn dropped down and immediately smoothed it out again as he smothered her with affection.
“Oh, was somebody taking a nap on the deck?” Remus cooed, grabbing a handful of spoons from a drawer.
“I missed you so much!” Finn said, laughing as she licked his face. “So much, precious girl! It’s been too long!”
Hattie wiggled out of his hold and galloped toward Leo—she tripped over her too-big paws and rolled to a stop at his feet with a lolling tongue. “Oh, my munchkin,” he groaned, lifting her into a cradle hold. “Do you think your dads would be sad if I took you home with me?”
“Yes,” Sirius and Remus chorused.
“But I made them soup!” He stuck his lower lip out in a pout and held her closer to his chest. “It’s only fair.”
Logan turned a pleading look on Sirius. “You can’t say no to that face, can you?”
“Someday, you can have a sleepover. For right now, we’re going to eat soup and then make Remus take a nap.”
Leo declined to mention the fact that he had not answered the question and filed that particular information away for later use. For all his bluster and grumbling, Sirius was a softie for puppy eyes of any sort.
They gathered in the living room and carefully balanced their bowls so nobody spilled on the carpet. Remus curled up to make space for Sirius on the couch, while Logan perched on the armrest of Leo’s chair and Finn took the floor; Hattie made the rounds with a roving nose and tried to steal bites wherever possible, to little avail.
“This is really good,” Sirius said after a few minutes of hungry silence, shoving another spoonful of broth in his mouth. “Mon dieu, what is this?”
“Italian wedding soup,” Leo said, breaking a meatball in half. “Mom’s recipe.”
Logan raised an eyebrow. “You’re not Italian.”
“Not even a little.”
“You guys are the best, by the way,” Remus said. “This is exactly what I needed.”
“We would’ve beat the rookie up if you asked,” Finn informed him with a casual bite of soup. “Say the word, it’s done.”
Remus shook his head. “It was an accident. He tripped, I came up too fast, and it snowballed from there. Kid’s lucky he didn’t get a skate to the face when we fell.”
Logan blinked at him for a second. “You’ve seen your face recently, right?”
“No, actually, it’s a bit difficult to see my own face,” Remus said drily. “I’m sure it looks worse than it feels.”
Sirius raised his eyebrows, but made no comment. Leo wasn’t sure whether he wanted to know that story or not; seeing Loops in any amount of pain was hard enough. “Kind of ironic, right?” he said instead. “After all that time spent fixing us, you’re the one we get to take care of.”
Remus snorted. “How the turntables. Hestia did all the heavy lifting.”
“That Tupperware was heavy.”
“Do you want to tape me back together next time?”
“Don’t try me, Loops, I’ll do it and give you a moustache.”
They bickered and teased for the next half hour, long after their bowls were empty and Hattie laid down with a dramatic huff after her unsuccessful quest. Finally, Remus dozed off on Sirius’ shoulder, which they took as their cue to leave.
“Thank you again, guys,” Sirius said as they pulled their coats on. “This really meant a lot to both of us.”
“No problem,” Finn said with a shrug. “We were worried, and bringing over a little soup was easy.”
“It was good to talk to you both outside of practice,” Logan added, giving him a one-armed hug. “Keep us updated?”
“Bien sûr.”
“See you around, Capsicle.” Leo mock-saluted and Sirius laughed under his breath. “Take care of our rookie.”
“Will do, Knutty.”
Leo maneuvered his container around his seatbelt as Finn turned the car on, trying not to lose another lid down the crack between the console. “I’m glad we did that,” he said after a few seconds of comfortable silence.
“Me, too. Loops still looked pretty rough, though,” Logan said quietly.
The side of Finn’s mouth turned down a tick. “Next time we play the Ravens, that rookie is getting checked like he’s never been checked before.”
Leo’s back cracked as he stretched his arms over his head. “Oh, yeah, Kasey and I already have a plan. That kid is never even going to see the net.”

Reminder that I do not support jkr. Do not interact if you do.
It was well known throughout your first years at Hogwarts that you and Sirius did not get along. He honestly annoyed the shit out of you everyday. He came from a rich pureblood family and you were a muggleborn, so anyone could see how the two of you clashed there.
All of the professors were completely done with you and Sirius’s antics. It started off with Sirius somehow managing to turn your hair green during the first flying lesson that the Gryffindors had. “Hey y/n, your hair is amazing! Didn’t think you could pull off the green!” a peer had spoken to you just before mounting your broom.
Sirius broke out into a nearly uncontrollable laughter and got a detention for it. But of course, none of that stopped you from getting back at him. Even just the simplest of pranks had gotten the job done.
There was one prank at the start of second year that earned you and Sirius a month’s worth of detention with Slughorn. He basically had the two of you as his personal assistants. It was honestly torture. But there were moments when he would step away from his classroom to talk to another professor, or slip away into his office to plan the next day’s lesson, and it would leave you and Sirius alone.
The two of you gave in and finally had a conversation with each other. It wasn’t much and it was very awkward, but seeing as this was your first day out of a month’s long sentence of detention, someone to talk with didn’t sound too bad.
And that was what blossomed a very chaotic friendship between the two of you. Having to suffer together was what drew the connection. You two eventually planned your own little pranks against other people.
Despite everything in your younger years of being at Hogwarts, Sirius was your closest friend. You could maybe go as far as to call him your best friend, but you’d never say that to his face, it’d add to his already huge ego.
You ate nearly every meal with him. You’d practically drag him into the library to study. He mentioned something about doing well in school for his parents, so that’s what you’d help him with.
Though the two of you quickly learned that it’s very hard to focus in each other’s presence.
You taught him how to braid hair. He practiced using yours. “Would you stay still, y/n?”
“I’m trying! You’re the one yanking me back and forth, Sirius.”
From that point after, you’d sit in between his legs on the floor as he sat on the couch.
He got you sucked into quidditch and nearly got you to try out for the team. “I think it’d be fun having you on the team!”
“I think that’s your way of saying you want to spend more time with me.”
“Of course,” SIrius shook his head no.
One day he saw someone in the hall walk by with eyeliner and he demanded that the two of you try putting it on yourselves.
This ultimately got you in trouble for staying up way too late, laughing at how silly you both looked in the prefect bathrooms. Lily would allow you in saying “This is going to get my badge taken from me, I swear.”
You two eventually got back to studying after Sirius received some notes from his parents.
You caught on quickly that he didn’t have the best relationship regarding his family.
It was actually a little difficult being friends with Sirius at first. It was very hard for him to just be vulnerable and talk, but by fourth year, you understood where he came from and didn’t push for anything. You listened to him the very few times when he would make small little notes of his family, or talked about his brother while passing him in the hall.
Your conversations were more so filled with random things that only really made sense to the two of you. Any outsider would’ve thought you two were completely crazy.
By fifth year, you were looking at Sirius in a whole different light and you hated it. You wanted to be way more than friends and didn’t know what to do with yourself. You started to avoid him. This was the worst and best decision ever. It’s still debatable.
While the rest of your friends were taking a little day to Hogsmeade, and while you were still on a streak of pretty much avoiding Sirius, you slipped off from the courtyard, taking a less used corridor towards the library.
Here, you found Sirius with his shoulders shaking, head in his hands, and your heart shattered. If you were feeling this, you couldn’t even begin to imagine what he must feel like. He didn’t pay any mind to his surroundings until you slid down the wall next to him, placing your hand on his shoulder.
He didn’t even have to look to know that it was you. He leaned into your shoulder while you brought your arm around him, quiet sobs escaping from his body.
He always kept parts of him, especially these emotions so closed off, that it honestly was a little surprising to see him like this. “Sere, tell me what’s wrong,” you whispered.
“I- um, it’s nothing. I just got a letter from home and it’s-” he broke down again.
At this point you let your legs stretch in front of you. He was still under your arms until he just let himself go. He let himself feel. And relax. And he understood that it’s okay to cry. And be vulnerable. And that you were safe to talk to about anything. He hugged you full on. He clung on tight as he cried. And man, you were fucked. This wasn’t helping any sort of feelings you were trying to suppress by being here in his presence. It honestly nearly broke you. You wanted to cry for him. Scream for him. Go off on his parents for him. You wanted to protect him from all that could ever hurt him this way.
He talked about everything that has happened up until the letter and stammered off his explanation with one final point. “A-and I’ve missed spending time with you. It’s like you’ve been avoiding me,” he mumbled into the thick air. He was laying down against you with your fingers in his hair. “It’s like I- I’m missing a part of me. Like we’re so close I couldn’t possibly imagine my life without you.”
You stumbled over your words, trying to find out what to say. ‘If only he knew’ you wanted to groan out into the air. “I’m sorry,” was all you could say, tears stinging your eyes while you blinked them back, hugging him tightly.
From that moment, the two of you had bought bracelets at Hogsmeade and spelled them to change a certain color for when the other wanted to talk, or simply just needed to be with the other. They were simple fabric ones, something you both liked and wore everyday.
Most of the time Sirius came to talk to you about his parents. Which was new considering he was a little closed off before.
You were there if he needed to cry. You would hold him if he needed a hug. You would laugh with him when he didn’t want to be the only one. You were there for him for everything.
There was one night that was really bad. His parents basically sent a letter saying not to come home in the future. You were supposed to meet him in the library yet he wasn’t there.
After asking around, you found him in the Gryffindor common room when it was far too late for you to even be out. His face was tear stained and his eyes were an irritated pink. Though he didn’t seek you in the first place, he didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around you, burying himself in your comfort.
By sixth year it was supposedly “Painfully obvious you two were basically in love with each other” Remus would say every time you gave up a library visit to be with Sirius. Or James would very blatantly leave you both to carry out specific parts of a prank together. Lily would just leave you and Sirius alone together whenever she got the chance, really.
One particular Gryffindor win for Sirius was crashed by some Slytherins who came without any good intentions. It was soon discovered that there was veritaserum in the drinks that, of course, you and your friends had already enjoyed.
All of this prompted you to leave the party. You left with a big group of people, Remus, James, Peter, Lily, Mary, Marlene, all off to the grounds, trying to avoid any trouble. You stayed back with Remus and Sirius while the rest walked ahead, talking about the most random of things, like how Remus wants to ride a unicorn. He eventually sped up with the rest of the group, claiming he was going to ride a unicorn, properly drunk. “Mhm, yeah. You go have fun with that Remus,” Sirius called to him as he stumbled ahead.
You and Sirius couldn’t go as far as to say you were drunk, but definitely tispy. You walked over to a small tree and sat yourself under it, laying back against it. Sirius did the same thing except he leaned his head on your shoulder and you leaned yours on top of his. It was a sweet moment as he mindlessly played with a thread hanging from your robes.
The veritaserum didn’t bother the two of you much, you were honest with each other most of the time anyways. Well, it didn’t bother you much until Regulus and a few of his friends stood over you, making fun of how close you and Sirius were. You kept your mouths shut for as long as you could. “What it’s not like you like each other. Do you, Sirius?” Regulus pushed.
“I actually like y/n a lot. She’s always there for me and—” Sirius slapped his hand over his mouth, eyes wide.
“Hmm, and I don't suppose you feel the same way, y/n?”“
“I have feelings for Sirius,” you blurted out right as Regulus and his friends walked away.
Sirius looked over to you, smiling like an idiot. You leaned your head back against the tree, covering your face with your hands just before he pulled them away. He squeezed them in a comforting manner and asked why you hadn’t said anything before. “Because you’re such a great person, like you deserve the world and I don’t think I’d be enough a-and I hate that people keep asking questions because I’m on this stupid veritaserum that’s making me look like an idiot
He cut you off with a kiss, effectively shutting you up. The kiss was rushed at first before turning into something exploding with passion that you didn’t even know you needed until now.
“Well, you’re a beautiful idiot. Because, as said before,” he mumbled the last part, returning to his normal tone of voice. “I like you too. A-and I guess that you could tell me that I’m an idiot because—”
“Why didn’t you tell me you liked me, Sirius?”
“My entire life is a mess and I have too many problems and you’re always there for me to begin with, I’d take up too much of your time if we actually ended up dating. And you’re perfect and I look like absolute shit all the time. Just as you said you deserve the world but as I’m saying all this, I’m starting to think,” he trailed off searching your eyes for words. “I'm starting to think that we deserve each other,” he finished in a soft voice.
“I think we deserve each other too,” you grabbed his face gently, kissing him.
That night is now the day you and Sirius started dating, one of the most memorable days of your lives.
You never left breakfast in the Great Hall without stealing a kiss.
Or a piece of bacon from his plate.
There’d be some nights where you could sneak away and fall asleep with him peacefully and everything seemed alright.

Hello, hello! Let me just start off by saying that I love Choices to bits. I’ve reread it at least three times in the past two weeks since I’ve discovered it, and I’ve been recommending it non-stop to anyone who would listen. It’s truly one of the best pieces of fan fiction I have ever had the pleasure of reading, so thank you for that. I have a few songs by Sleeping At Last that remind me of some themes/characters in the story, so I thought I might share them with you and see what you think.
‘Eight’ reminds me of Regulus with lyrics like: “I can't let you see all that I have to lose and all I've lost in the fight to protect it. I can't let you in, I swore never again, I can't afford to let myself be blindsided” and also “I was just a kid who grew up strong enough to pick this armor up and suddenly it fit.” Need I say more?
‘Two’ reminds me of James because it talks about someone who loves others at the cost of themselves. The lyrics that hit the hardest are: “I know exactly how the rule goes: put my mask on first. No, I don't want to talk about myself, tell me where it hurts. I just want to build you up, build you up, till you're good as new. And maybe one day I will get around to fixing myself too” and also “You know I'll take my heart clean apart if it helps yours beat.”
‘Neptune’ makes me think of Sirius and his struggle to be better, kinder, more vulnerable, especially with Remus. I love how you wrote him to be an innately good person, but not a saint, as I think that would’ve been unrealistic considering the kind of environment he grew up in. Some lyrics in this song that I feel really apply to him are: “I wanna love you but I don’t know how” and “You let me set sail with cheap wood, so I patched up every leak that I could, till the blame grew too heavy” and also “Stitch by stitch I tear apart, if brokenness is a form of art, then I must be a poster child prodigy.”
And finally, the song ‘Mars’ just fits with the war aspect of the story. Meaning, when the students graduated from school to battles, and the order. For example: “We were so full of life, we could barely hold it in. We were amateurs at war, and strangers to suffering.”
Anyways, this got a little longer than I had thought it would be. Please don’t feel any pressure to reply if you’re too busy, I just really admire your work and wanted to share this with you. Thanks again! <3
Hello lovely! Thank you so much! I love this song breakdown. I especially agree with "Two" for James and "Neptune" for Sirius, like 100% think those songs fit those characters in this fic. I also think "Atlas: Touch" feels like Regulus ot me, especially at the part of the story we're at right now.
When will I feel this As vivid as it truly is? Fall in love in a single touch And fall apart when it hurts too much and also Invisible machinery These moving parts inside of me Well, they've been shutting down for quite some time Leaving only rust behind Something about that numbness and the feeling of being on a precipice, where if something doesn't change we might never be able to undo the damage, just really feels like him in these last chapters.

Never Enough (3/7)
Sirius Black x daughter!reader
Summary: Arriving at the Department of Mysteries did not turn out as Harry, Ron, Ginny, Hermione, Luna, Neville and Y/N Black had predicted. With Death Eaters trying to steal a prophecy, what happens when the Order arrives and everything begins to spiral down?
Words: ~1.9k
Warnings: shitty father-daughter relationship, violence, torture, injury,
A/N: Well this took a proper while to post. Watch the next part test your patience even more ;) but it’ll be worth it, I have great plans for it. Phrases I used a million times: you, dark, pain - I got tired of the words by the end of this fic. Every time I typed ‘orb’ I remembered @approved-by-dentists. ORBS. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this xx

“Very good, Potter. Now turn around and give that to me, nice and slowly.”
Black figures emerged out of the shadows. Eyes were the only things to be seen from under the hoods, wands pointed at you all blocking the way to escape from every direction.
“Uncle Lucius?” you asked at the time as Harry, “Where’s Sirius?”
Lucius Malfoy looked at you, failing to hide the surprise on his face. He was expecting the rest of Potter’s friends to be there along with him, but not you.
“Where’s Sirius?” Harry asked again, the panic rising within him. “You’ve got him. I know he’s here.”
“It’s time you learnt the difference between dreams and reality. You saw what the Dark Lord wanted you to see,” Lucius said, looking away from you to concentrate back on what he came here for.
You were pointing your own wand at the figure nearest to you. You didn’t know what you were expecting when you came here, but it certainly was not this. You were panicking. Your clammy hands were shaking; you couldn’t take on Death Eaters, none of you could. Cold sweat dripped down your forehead, matting your hair against it. You tightened your grip on your wand as it started to slip.
“Not yet-” you heard Harry mutter.
A voice cackled in the dark, “You hear him? Giving instructions to the other children as though he thinks of fighting us!”
“Oh, you don’t know Potter as I do Bellatrix,” said Malfoy softly, “He has great weakness for heroics; the Dark Lord understands this.”
You felt Neville tense up next to you as Bellatrix Lestrange walked into the light, a malicious grin on her face. Her black, curly hair was wild and unkept - making her look deranged.
“You’ve got him, I know he’s here,” said Harry adamantly.
“Give me the prophecy, or we start using wands,” ordered Malfoy causing you to take a huge gulp.
“Go on then,” challenged Harry, raising his wand up to chest level; Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Neville and Luna doing the same.
“Do anything to us and I’ll break it.”
“He knows how to play! Itty, Bitty, Baby. Potter,” said Bellatrix, her cold, empty eyes staring through the slits in her hood.
“Hand over the prophecy and no one need get hurt,” said Lucius coolly.
You noticed the Death Eaters were slowly closing in, moving so slowly and quietly, behaving like shadows in the dark. It wasn’t noticeable unless one was really paying attention, which you were. You were wrenched out of the focus on one of the Death Eaters in front of you as Bellatrix Lestrange shouted, “YOU FILTHY HALF BLOOD!”
“Why did he want to steal a prophecy about me?”
You didn’t hear them reply for Neville nudged you on your side, “Smash shelves on mark,” he whispered discreetly.
“So he’s got you doing his dirty for him, has he?” continued Harry, “He tried to get Strurgis to steal it - and Bode?”
“Very good, Potter,” Malfoy said slowly, “But the Dark Lord knows-”
“NOW!” yelled Harry.
Seven voices chorused “REDUCTO!” The curse flew in seven directions, hitting the glass spheres on the towering shelves. Voices echoed through the vast room amidst the glass shattering and wood splinting onto the floor.
“RUN!” you heard Harry bellow before you took off with Ron, Ginny and Luna.
You covered your head protecting it from the falling orbs and spells flying by. Death Eaters were chasing after you, throwing spells and all they had into capturing any one of you.
“Petrificus Totalus!” you shouted, throwing a spell behind you without looking. It had successfully hit someone judging by the thud that followed.
“There! Through that door!” Ron yelled over the noise, pointing to a door right ahead of you.
You all picked up your pace. Luna ran through the door first followed by Ginny. You’d almost made it, ducking spells being thrown left and right, when you felt a spell collide with your back throwing you face first against the floor.
“Y/N!” you heard before blacking out.
⭑*•̩̩͙⊱••••✩••••̩̩͙⊰•*⭑
The first thing you felt was pain. Pain, pain, and more pain. Your head was throbbing, feeling like it was going to split open from the pain’s intensity. You slowly opened your eyes, having to blink a few times before they could focus on your surroundings. You groaned, sitting up, reaching a hand to the back of your head, hoping some pressure would relieve the stabbing ache. You glanced around and recognized the Brain Room you all had previously found when you’d been looking for the Glass Orb Room. You could see Ginny laying a bit away from you, knocked out. You could see Luna a distance away near a desk and what seemed to be Hermione, both unconscious as well. Ron was giggling like a barmy man, fighting what looked like a brain? You steadily stood up and took a step forward wobbling slightly. The pain in your head increased at the motion of walking, but you ignored it; Harry was nowhere to be seen and you’d just glimpsed Neville running through a doorway. You picked up your wand from the ground and made your way towards the shouts coming from the other room, trying to prepare yourself for what was waiting once you passed the threshold.
You saw one of the Death Eaters roughly grab Neville as you entered the room. There were several Death Eaters, you observed. Harry was standing on the dais, upon which was the stone archway, still holding the glass orb with Voldemort’s and his name on it. You stealthily started to make your way down the steps, hoping no one would look your way or hear you which sounded to be possible because of their obnoxious laughs and taunts.
“No, no, no,” said Bellatrix excitedly looking at Neville, “Let’s see how Longbottom lasts before he cracks like his parents… unless Potter wants to give us the prophecy.”
Your eyes widened at her suggestion, knowing exactly what she meant. You rushed down the stairs, the sound of your feet stomping against the stone stairs masked over by Neville roaring, “DON’D GIB ID DO DEM. DON’D GIB ID DO DEM, HARRY!”
Bellatrix approached Neville, raising her wand as you had reached the foot of the staircase continuing to run towards him. You jumped in the way at the precise moment.
“Crucio!”
All you felt was pain. Agonizing pain. The pain from your head before was nothing compared to what you were feeling now. Your body felt on fire from the inside-out. It felt as if you were being stabbed by scorching knives at every inch of your body. An ear-splitting scream left your throat. It hurt, it hurt so bad. You wanted it to end. You wanted it all to end; it was too much to endure. Your body twitched and thrashed around, bruising your already injured body further. You could hear Neville and Harry shouting for Bellatrix to stop as she laughed pleasurably. The pain seemed to last a lifetime before the spell was lifted off. You laid there on the cold stone floor, breathing heavily as you let out small whimpers. The pain and soreness still there as an aftermath of what had just occurred.
“That was just a taster my dear niece,” you made out Bellatrix speaking as you laid there, tears streaming down your face. “Now, Potter, either give us the prophecy, or watch both your little friends die the hard way!”
Suddenly, figures started to appear. ‘More Death Eaters,’ you thought frightened, willing yourself to move and stand up - get yourself and Neville away from the coming danger. You pushed through the pain, forcing yourself up. Your body was shaking underneath its own weight. A hand quickly wound itself around your waist, helping you stay upright. You looked to the side to see Neville.
“Are you okay?” Harry yelled over the chaos. You finally looked around surprised but relieved; the familiar faces of Dora, Moody, Kingsley, Remus and your father helping ease the pain a bit - help was here.
“Yes,” said Neville.
“And Ron?”
“I dink he’s all righd- he was still fighting de brain when I lefd-”
The floor between them exploded. You were thrown to one side of the room and thankfully this time, you didn’t injure yourself. You leaned against the tier and pushed yourself up. Somehow, miraculously, you still had your wand with you. You saw Dora duelling with Bellatrix, your father duelling a Death Eater as Kingsley fought off two. You limped your way to help Kingsley; you wouldn’t be able to do much against a skilled dueller, but little help was better than none. Just as you were about to reach Kingsley, you saw a jet of green light fly past in the corner of your eyes and Dora falling down from the stone stairs. Bellatrix had triumphantly moved on to duelling with another Order member as you stood frozen to the spot, coming to think the worst. You wanted to go check on her; anything other than stand there as your mind came up with the worst-case scenarios but it was as if you were paralyzed - unable to move or comprehend anything other than Dora’s limp body in the line of your vision.
The sound of Lupin shouting snapped you back to reality, “Harry, round up the others and go! Take Y/N with you!”
You spun around towards Harry’s direction who was already staring in your direction. He nudged his head towards the door you had entered from, indicating to get a move on. You nodded weakly, stumbling over your feet as you started to walk towards him and away from Dora’s body. All you could do was hope she was alright; knowing you had to get out of here or she would kill you when she found you’d acted stupidly and stayed in the middle of this chaos only to check up on her. It was extremely difficult for you not to run to her, she was your sister - but you knew you couldn't, not if you wanted to make it out alive of this situation to give her a piece of your mind yourself.
You were by the dais now upon which your father continued to duel Bellatrix. He was standing close to the stone archway, gradually inching towards it without noticing. He was laughing at Bellatrix, ducking her spells. You didn’t know when you had changed your course but suddenly realized you were standing only a mere few feet away from their duel.
“Come on, you can do better than that!” his voice echoed through the room.
You didn’t know when you had broken out into a sprint - where the rush of energy had come from, only Salazar knows. You didn’t know when you reached your father and pushed him. You didn’t see Dumbledore arriving, furious and ready to take some Death Eaters down. Nor did you see Remus and Harry running in your direction, terrified. You didn’t hear Bellatrix cry out in anger or your own yell, “DAD!”.
The only thing you did realize was the spell heading towards your father, one that could’ve been fatal.
The only thing you did hear was the yells of your father, godfather, and godbrother before everything went dark.

Part one of my new ‘Wolfstar Raising Harry’ fic! I plan on making this (mostly) canon-compliant, but I might change my mind later on. I hope you enjoy <3
What happened after the Halloween, 1981: Sirius went after Peter, got arrested, and was in Azkaban for four years before Remus finally convinced Dumbledore to get him a trial. He was given veritaserum and was proven innocent. He was back for three weeks before Remus finally told him where Harry was. Sirius, furious, stormed into the headmasters office. Oh, and they got married the summer before Sirius went to Azkaban because wizarding laws are different than muggle laws :)
“Albus, if you do not explain to me right now why MY godson has been staying at that- that walrus’s house instead of my husband’s then I am going to lose it.” Sirius pounded his fist on the headmasters desk.
“Mr. Black I understand you’re upset right now, but please understand that this has happened for a good reason.” The old man said calmly. Sirius rolled his eyes and plopped into his seat.
“You’re excuse better make up for the fact that my godson has been abused, mentally and physically, for the last four years!” At this, Dumbledore’s face softened a little, remembering that Sirius had gone to talk to the Dursley’s himself, but was quickly shoo’d away, only after getting a quick glimpse of Harry.
“Lily Potter jumped in front of Harry that night, thus creating a form of blood protection. She protected him with a ‘mother’s shield’, I’m sure you’ve heard of it.” Sirius nodded. “Well the mother’s shield only continues to work if he is under the guardianship of someone that is blood-related.”
Sirius sat there, his eyebrows drawn close together and eyes narrowed.
“Do you not think me and Remus couldn’t protect him? Do you not think that Lily and James knew what was best for Harry when they put in their will that he would go to me and Remus? Do you not think that at the first hint of danger that me and Remus would bring Harry to Hogwarts like Minnie said we could?” He paused as he look darkly at the floor.
“Lily and James wouldn’t want this, you know. For Harry to live in that awful home. He’s in more harm living there than he would be anywhere else!” Sirius ended his rant with a huff as he sat back in his seat, looking back up. Albus closed his eyes and sighed.
“Mr. Black, you’re not understanding the situation. If the boy were to-“
“He’s right, Headmaster.” Albus was cut off by Minerva, who was standing in the doorframe of the headmasters office. “Sirius and Remus are by far some of the most powerful wizards to attend Hogwarts, and they always have a pass to return to the school if any danger comes there way.” McGonagall smiled, knowing good and well that the old man trusted her judgment more than anyone else.
“Are you positive Minerva?” He pressed.
“Absolutely, sir. You know that the Potter’s would want their son to stay with their best friends before staying with the Dursley’s.” Sirius was beaming. He turned back to Dumbledore with a hopeful gleam in his eye, who reluctantly answered.
“...Very well then. I shall not send the papers right over and you should be able to pick the boy up this weekend.” Dumbledore said, he face going expressionless, obviously not comfortable with the decision he just made. Sirius shot up from his seat and firmly shook the headmasters hand, still upset with the man and trying to hide his excitement.
“I’m glad you came to the right decision, headmaster.” He said, making a point to show the wizard that he was still upset. Turning on his heel, he made his way to the door instead of the fireplace. The closer he got to the doorway, it became more obvious what his plan was. Upon destination, Minerva opened he arms in sync with the man in front of her, who now towered over her, holding each other for a good ten seconds.
“Thank you, Minnie.” He whispered.
“Anything for my boys.” She whispered back. “James and Lily would want it this way. They’d be so proud of you, Sirius.” The man responded with a low, gravely noise from his throat, a habit Minerva instantly recognized from Sirius’s school years as his way of controlling his tears.
“Looks like we might need a tea time with Minnie, huh?” He gave a watery chuckle and he pulled away.
“Looks like it.” She smiled.

Dean’s Holiday Destination Ratings: Shell Cottage - 2/10
My first ever one shot because I’m procrastinating writing my other fic. Can be found on AO3 .
Not that it was completely awful, per say, but Dean really would not recommend Shell Cottage as a holiday destination, if only because it contained at least 2 of his ex- girlfriend's older brothers and his ex- girlfriend’s ex- boyfriend. The fact that it was his only safe space in a war did push the rating up to a solid 2 though.
A Shell Cottage Dean perspective.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dean didn't hate Harry, as much as he felt he had the right too.
There was surely some unwritten rule about not dating your roommate's ex girlfriend, especially within a month or two of them breaking up. But he had seen the way Harry had looked at Ginny throughout the year and couldn’t really blame him. And Gin had looked a thousand times happier and more relaxed in those 3 weeks she’d been dating Harry. And really, if Harry really was the saviour who would end Dean’s need to be on the run just to protect his mum and sisters, then he couldn’t begrudge him a bit of happiness. Still, it didn’t make him feel any less awkward, sitting there in his ex- girlfriend’s brother’s house, with two of her brothers and her other ex- boyfriend, along with a woman who was definitely a Veela that he vaguely remembered from his fourth year.
Unfortunately, Harry didn’t look nearly as awkward to see him as he’d have thought (he remembered those few weeks last year and the way Harry had tried to avoid him as much as possible, as if to avoid hurting his feelings) but Harry didn’t look much like the boy he’d met on his first ever night at Hogwarts anymore. Quite frankly, he looked like shit. He supposed he didn’t look too much better, but Harry was truly unrecognisable as the boy who’d spend the last few weeks of their sixth year unable to stop beaming, and laughing, even when not in the presence of Ginny.
At the time of their break up, he had blamed Harry. Even though deep down he knew Ginny had been honest when she said she didn’t care that Harry seemed to have finally noticed her (Dean had a habit of pointing it out during all their arguments), it hadn’t helped when Ginny had lost her head at him and Seamus when they’d been imitating Harry’s hilarious fall in that quidditch match. That had been an almighty row, but it had given Dean his first insight into the parts of Ginny he could never really understand- and that had been half the problem with their relationship and maybe why he was so insecure about Harry’s feelings for her in the first place. Dean didn’t, couldn’t, know what had happened in her first year that led her to being so secretive around others, but Harry definitely did. Dean didn’t know what had happened in that Ministry battle after his OWLs that Ginny refused to talk about, but Harry definitely did. To him, Harry falling off his broom had been funny, once they knew no lasting harm had occurred but Ginny had not seen it that way and finally let loose some of the things he’d been aching to know.
“I don’t understand why you’re so mad, it was a joke!” Dean had shouted at her. What Ginny had bellowed back had been far more than he had expected.
“That’s the point- you don’t understand! You’ve never had to fight fucking Death Eaters! You’ve never been trapped, injured and then seen Harry chasing after Bellatrix Lestrange, alone, knowing Voldemort is going to be there soon! You’ve never had to just sit there, useless, knowing that the chance your friend is about to be murdered is too high, while you’re desperately trying to stop fucking brain tentacles from strangling your brother, and your best friends are unconscious! That’s why it’s not funny to joke about Harry falling! I see him falling and it’s like Voldemort’s there all over again; he could have died!”
That was the most he’d ever heard about the whole Ministry affair, despite having heard even Neville, of all people, whispering about it to Ron. There wasn’t much he could argue back with to that, except that it wasn’t his fault he didn’t know about that since no one ever included him in those conversations! How could he know just how many times Harry had come close to death? But that hadn’t been the right thing to say either, since Ginny had snapped that perhaps he should be grateful he could live his life stressing over nothing but schoolwork and what to have for dinner. Really, he should have seen their break up coming after that. She’d made it clear he didn’t know the important parts about her, and had made it even more clear that he never would. He couldn’t really blame her for that either, he supposed; there were certain things about him that he would never tell her, that only Seamus knew.
Still, none of that mattered now. Ted and Dirk had been killed, he’d been left with Griphook for company, then in what seemed like a whirlwind, had been captured by Snatchers, dragged to Malfoy Manor, along with, it turned out, Harry, Ron and Hermione, who no one had heard anything from in months. He’d heard Hermione’s screams as she was tortured, Ron and Harry’s screams as they heard Hermione, and suddenly Luna Lovegood was there and the man who sold him his wand seven years ago. And then if that wasn’t enough, a random house elf had appeared and taken him to a house on the beach, where a man who had the same hair as Ron had come running out with his wand directed at him. When he’d only just got his bearings, there was a crack and Ron was running into the house carrying an unconscious Hermione while Harry was crying over the house elf, who seemed to have been stabbed. His attention had been stolen away from all of that by a gorgeous blonde vision who had come over to him, to take the goblin from his hold and guide him into the house. He only managed to look away when he saw the wedding band and realised that Ginny’s brother had married the Veela from the Triwizard Tournament at some point in the last 3 years and he hadn’t even known. There had been no room for awkward feelings in those first few hours, but after that, as things had settled down and everyone but Ollivander and Griphook had gathered in the lounge to exchange stories, Dean hadn’t been able to help feeling hopelessly out of place, and had to wonder just how he had managed to find himself in this situation.
He had yet to exchange any words with Harry, as Harry had spent his days digging the grave for the house- elf he had found out was called Dobby (and he vaguely recalled that name from the D.A. meeting where they’d been caught out), and when he was done with the grave, he had been holed away with Ollivander and Griphook. Dean had gotten some basic details on their time on the run out of Ron, had found out how close they had been at one point but it was Harry he really wanted to talk to. He’d realised last year just how much there was about his roommate that he didn’t know, but while they were in this war together, fighting together, he needed to know exactly what was going on so he could fight for his own survival, and his family’s. Except then there had been that frantic knocking on the door, and Professor Lupin had come bursting in, shouting about his son. Dean had been beyond bewildered at why his teacher, who he hadn’t seen since his third year, had appeared in this little cottage by the sea in the middle of the war, and even more confused about why Harry, Ron and Hermione had looked so ecstatic to see him. Sure, Lupin had been their best defence teacher ever, and it was great to see him again, but he wouldn’t have said he was the person he would be happiest to see. And then he had been astonished even further when he heard Lupin ask Harry to be his son’s godfather - how did he not know that his roommate was that close to his former professor? Luna (who wasn’t even in the same house as Harry or Ginny and yet still seemed to know more than him!) had leant in to him and said how nice it was for Harry to have the chance to be the godfather his never was. Dean had been confused at that, he was under the impression that the only family Harry had left were his muggle relatives, until Luna had continued in her usual, airy tone that, “Yes, his godfather was Sirius Black, that’s why me and Ginny went to the Ministry in our 4th year. We had to go rescue him from You- Know- Who, but it turned out to be a trap and he died in front of Harry, He was really quite upset and grumpy about it, I’m surprised you didn't know. Of course, Harry is very private, and Ginny probably felt it wasn’t her place to tell you either, although she was close to Mr. Black as well and was very sad when he was lost.”
Dean couldn’t even begin to process that sentence. He was horrified that while he had been celebrating the end of his OWLs so obnoxiously, Harry had been grieving his fucking godfather and how had he not known that? There was also the fact that apparently Ginny had been close to this godfather, the one he somehow didn’t know existed, and yet not once had she even brought up the loss she must have felt. Then the familiarity of the name Sirius Black clicked into place and Dean really had to wonder if he had ever known Harry Potter at all because surely the fact that a mass murderer, who had gone so far as to sneak into their dorm with a knife, was Harry Potter’s godfather was something he thought he ought to have been aware of.
And it was with a kind of ache in his chest that Dean realised, no matter how angry he had been at that kiss between Harry and Ginny, no matter how much he wanted to blame Harry for the failings in his own relationship with Ginny, he couldn’t ever hate Harry Potter. He couldn’t hate that this boy even younger than him, who had suffered so horrendously in his life, who had lost too much to ever feel supported enough to share his upsets with more than a handful of people, had finally known happiness in those few summer weeks with Ginny Weasley. Maybe he could tell Harry that, let him know that Dean Thomas held no grudges against him, and perhaps in the revelry of Professor Lupin’s announcement, he could learn more about this godfather.
In the end, he never got the chance to talk to this Harry, the Harry he saw now that he understood he had never truly known him. Not until after that coin had burned hot in his pocket, and he had raced through the passageway behind Bill and Fleur Weasley, Luna by his side; not until after the walls had collapsed, and Harry had died, and then Harry had won, and the dust had settled, did Dean get to finally meet Harry Potter. Not the boy who lived, or the boy who stole his girlfriend, but Harry Potter, Dean’s roommate and fellow Gryffindor since day 1.

if there isn't a second part where I don't see Remus being comforted by his team and Greyback getting his ass handed to him I will set myself on fire (jk you're not forced to do anything I just loved your protective!sirius fic so much)
Don't set yourself on fire and thank you so much!! <3

TW: injuries
Sirius hadn't wanted to leave but Remus was sleeping and Dumo had asked him to tell them how Remus was doing.
He was only slightly shocked to see most of the team sitting in the waiting room, but it sent a wave of affection and appreciation to see them all sitting there.
The cubs were all sitting together, Logan was curled into Leo's side seemingly asleep Finn playing with his dark curls as he talked quietly to Leo with his eyebrows furrowed.
James was sitting with Harry in his lap, bouncing him gently as Lily whispered to him and ran her fingers through his hair.
Dumo was talking to Thomas and Kasey who were both shaking slightly, from the cold or worry Sirius couldn't tell.
With the lump in his throat renewed, he went and sat on the floor in front of James and took Harry from him. The rest of the team got quiet as Sirius rested his head on Harry's tiny chest while Harry cuddled in to him cooing.
"Is- is he okay?" Thomas asked, quieter than Sirius had ever heard him. Sirius laughed suddenly, a hysterical, oh-god-i've-lost-my-mind, kind of laugh.
"He's okay. He had five cuts that needed stitches and he had hypothermia so he's drowning in blankets but he's okay. He's asleep right now." Sirius said quietly, staring at Harry instead of looking at anyone else.
He looked up when he heard a dull thud and saw Kasey with a murderous look on his face, his fist having slammed down on the armrest. Natalie grabbed his hand and ran her thumb over his knuckles.
"Who the hell would do that? Why would anyone do that to him?" Kasey said angrily glaring at the floor.
Most of the team seemed to have taken on that view as well. "Who could he have made that mad?" Finn asked with poorly masked anger that woke Logan up.
Leo shushed Finn and rubbed Logan's back as he opened his eyes tiredly. "Wha?" His tired voice slurred slightly and Leo sighed and kissed his head.
"Nothing babe, we were just trying to figure out who did it." Logan tensed for a second before sitting up and running a hand through his hair.
"He-" Logan cut himself off and slumped in the back or the chair. Sirius looked up at him slowly. "Did he say something to you?" Logan swallowed hard and closed his eyes.
"He was probably too tired to tell you but he told me not to say anything until he did." Logan said quietly, his voice sounding as if it had aged five years. Sirius felt his heart sink, it must have been bad for Remus to want to tell him himself.
Sirius sighed and handed Harry back to James. "Okay I'm going to go see if he's awake," he turned and looked at Dumo and the cubs. "Can y'all come with me please?" They all stood up and followed. Logan was moving a little slower than the rest of them so Finn and Leo fell into step beside him on either side.
"Why am I coming?" Dumo asked Sirius as they walked back to Remus's room, Sirius glanced back to Leo, Logan, and Finn before answering Dumo. "I was planning on asking him and I thought he'd probably want the cubs there too so he doesn't have to explain it twice because they mean a lot to him. You're here because if it's bad I don't think Leo will be enough of a peace maker to wound all three of us down."
Dumo nods in understanding as he walked into the room Sirius gestured to. Remus was awake when they walked in, his eyes sleepy in a way that informed Sirius he'd just woken up.
"Hey guys." He said in a scratchy voice that normally would be a turn on for Sirius. Leo smiled at him and took a seat in one of the chairs by his bed, Logan sat in his lap tucking his head under his boyfriends chin while Finn took a spot in front of their chair, his back against Leo's legs.
Dumo sat in the chair on the opposite side if the bed and grabbed Remus's hand before letting go.
Sirius sat on the bed next to Remus, careful of his bruises and stitches. Remus just put his arm around Sirius and cuddled closer. Sirius shivered when Remus's cold skin met his.
"You're warm." Remus said with a sigh and Sirius pulled him closer trying his best to warm him up.
"You feeling any better?" Logan asked from his spot of Leo's lap. Remus nodded, smiling fondly at the three of them.
"I'm okay just a little cold. Did you get them to check you?" He asked and furrowed his eyes when Logan snuggled closer to Leo without answering. "Check what?" Finn asked looking between Logan and Remus.
"Nothing I'm fine." Logan said, his face sufficiently hidden in Leo. Sirius felt Remus huff. "C'est de la merde, prends une couverture." Remus tried to take a blanket off but his fingers were shaking so Sirius took it for him and handed it to Logan who shook his head.
"No. You need it more Loops I'm fine." Remus rolled his eyes and adjusted his head on Sirius's chest. "It's my fault you were out there for so long, just take the blanket."
Logan sighed but Leo took the blanket and dropped it over him, tightening his arms around his cold boyfriend.
"Who did this?" Sirius asked softly, kissing Remus's brown curls. He rested his face there, breathing in the comforting smell. Remus fell silent, his body tensing as his arms tightening around Sirius.
"You can't freak out baby." He said and then added to the rest of the room. "None of you, specifically you Finn because you'll get Logan worked up too." They all nodded, listening to Remus intently. Sirius felt Remus let out a breath against him and his hand found Sirius's.
"I was getting the stuff together and it only took an hour and so I was on my way home and I was walking cause it was nice outside, as I'm sure you all know I love cold weather, and they cornered me. He just, they just punched me a lot a-and they hit my face with their skates. I'm okay though." He added quickly when Sirius let out a low sound.
Sirius took a few calming breaths as he realized who it was that hurt his boy. "They left after a while, he said that it he couldn't get me to stop playing he could break us up." He whispered as he lifted his head and turned to look at Sirius.
Sirius gave him a confused look and held him closer. "How the hell does he think he can do that? Il n'est rien, tu es tout pour moi." Remus laughed sadly and rested his forehead against Sirius's.
"He thought that if he left scars all over my face you would leave me. He thought you'd think me weak. Je l'ai fait aussi pendant une minute." He added softly, closing his eyes so he didn't have to see Sirius.
"Re, no. I would never, mon loup. Tu es belle tu as toujours été et tu le seras toujours. He can't change that." Sirius said fiercely. "I love you for you, how you look is just a plus." He adds trying to lighten the mood slightly, it worked and Remus let out a wet laugh.
Sirius wiped the tears off his face before looking at the cubs. Leo had tears falling silently down his face as he subconsciously hugged Logan closer to his body as his hands found Finn.
Finn was positively fuming, which as Remus had predicted was affecting Logan too. Logan had been relatively calm albeit sad but now he had his fists clenched and he was shaking, this time it was evident anger.
Sirius gave Dumo a pointed look and Dumo nodded slightly as he walked over to the boys. "Alright, Finn you need to calm down, Logan you do too. You'll set Remus off again and inadvertently Sirius too if you keep it up." Logan swallowed thickly and nodded, clutching Leo's hand. Leo bent down and whispered in his ear as he rubbing his thumb comfortingly over Logan's knuckles.
Finn stood up abruptly. "I'm going to go cool off for a second." He mumbled storming out of the room. Leo and Logan watched him go with troubled expressions. "You can go after him, it's all right." Remus said softly.
The two of them hesitated before nodding and going after Finn. Leo hesitated again at the door. "The team will want to see you, is that okay?" Remus laughed and nodded and Leo turned to follow his boyfriends.
Dumo stood up and hugged Remus carefully. "I'm glad you're okay Loops and I'm sorry for what happened. I'll give you two a minute before you get bombarded." He winked before he left and Sirius and Remus laughed.
Sirius adjusted them so he was sitting up and Remus was tucked under his arm, his head resting on Sirius's chest while Sirius rested his chin on Remus's head.
"You okay?" Remus asked after a minute of comfortable silence, Sirius couldn't help the incredulous laugh that escaped him. "You're in a hospital bed with stitches and hypothermia and you're asking me if I'm okay?"
Remus laughed as he playing with Sirius's fingers. "I guess when you put it that way it sounds funny but I know it made you worry all day so I'm sorry." Sirius frowned and lifted Remus's chin with his finger so their eyes met.
"Don't apologize for this, any of this. None of this was your fault in the slightest." He said sternly, trying to get the point across. Remus smiled at him and brought Sirius closer so their lips could meet.
"I love you so much." Remus whispered against his lips and Sirius smiled into the kiss. "I love you too mon loup."
They broke apart as eight people stumbled in. Lily was by Remus's side in seconds, her eyes rimmed in red. "Re," she cut off when he voice wobbled.
Remus held out a hand and Lily clasped it in both of hers. "Oh god Re, everyone was so worried and we couldn't get a hold of you." Lily broke off again and squeezed his hand helplessly.
Remus smiled at her, it was tired but it was there. Sirius had to appreciate his strength to talk to all these people while he was in this state.
"I'm sorry to have worried all of you, but I'm okay. Really." He added when everyone gave him disbelieving looks.
Dumo shook his head while Natalie smiled sadly. "Don't apologize, it's not like you did it on purpose." James said, holding Harry on his hip.
Harry was making grabby hands towards Remus but James was holding him tightly whispering 'not right now' repeatedly. Remus smiled fondly at them.
Kasey and Thomas were bouncing slightly, both being uncharacteristically quiet. Remus cuddled closer to Sirius and smiled at them. "I'm alright I promise. They said I can leave when they get my temperature back up."
Everyone nodded and a tense silence fell over them. "Is everything set for tonight? I was going to go back to finish a few things but I didn't get to it." Remus said, breaking the silence. Leo laughed from where he was standing behind Finn with his arms wrapped loosely in front of Finn's chest.
"Don't worry about that Loops, Moody finished everything. We're leaving at eight tonight if you're out, if not then we're probably going to leave when you get out." Logan said standing next to Dumo, he gave Remus a fond smile.
Remus huffed a laugh. "Y'all don't have to wait for me!" He said chuckling while everyone laughed. "Yeah, like we could get Sirius out of this place before then." Sirius nodded his agreement and Remus laughed, butting Sirius's chin gently.
They all talked and laughed for a while and Sirius just listened, content to have boyfriend in his arms while they were surrounded by their team.
Eventually when everyone left and it was just Remus and Sirius again as they drifted off to sleep.
Sirius was glad he had someone he depended on as much as Remus, even of it caused him stress.
He would choose Remus and the anxiety that came with loving someone so much over a day without anxiety if it meant no Remus in a heartbeat.

Hello, first of all: thank you for the amazing fics!! If you have time here's an idea for a prompt: Sirius has suffered through rape or a sexual assault in the past and has now, like, problems with doing anything sexual and he's afraid, that James won't want him if he was to find out and tries to meet James's needs. Maybe he panics or something it's up to you. And James is really cute and protective about it.
((A/N: Warning for discussions of sexual assault as discussion of assault by a family member and asexuality from trauma is pretty much all this fic is. If that's a topic that could bother you, you might need to skip this one <3 ))
In Sirius's defense, he'd thought that since he loved James so much, that when the time came, he'd be ready; he'd thought that he'd want it.
But it didn't really work out that way. Instead, he ended up panicking and shoving James away. And then he just stared at him with wide eyes, heart in his throat and feeling like he was going to throw up. Then he ran for the loo and locked himself in because he needed space to breathe, but he didn't want to leave James's flat entirely and couldn't very well hide in James's room-- that would've been worse than staying where he'd been on the couch. If he threw up, at least he was in the right place.
He felt like utter rubbish. It was partially a shock to him, but simultaneously not a surprise at all. Ever since his aunt had assaulted him at a family holiday party, he hadn't even been able to wank, let alone hook up with someone else. But, as he said, he'd thought that since he loved James so bloody much, it wouldn't be a problem. James, for one, was nothing like his aunt. For another, him and James had been dating for months. Kissing James was plenty of fun, but every time it started to lead somewhere, Sirius felt nauseous. After it not getting better with time, he'd guessed that the best thing to do was go ahead, and then he'd like it afterwards. He'd been... very wrong about that. Ridiculously wrong. If the situation wasn't buggering up his head so much, it would be funny how wrong he'd been.
A soft knock came on the door. "Sirius? Are you okay?"
He blew out a breath. How the hell was he going to explain this? James had invited him over, and he'd said yes, knowing full well what James had in mind when he offered-- mostly because James had told him straight out.
"Did I hurt you?" James continued when a long moment of silence passed.
The idea of James hurting him was laughable. Sirius had been totally panicked, but it hadn't been fear of James that caused it. He knew that he should say something, but he couldn't think of what to say. That it was ridiculous for James to be worried? It wouldn't be fair to say that when Sirius was the one who had run out.
"Erm, can you at least tell me if you're alive?"
A laugh startled out of him. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm alive."
"Okay, that's good. I erm, I'm sorry."
"What the hell are you sorry for?"
"Thinking we were on the same page when we weren't. I swear, I would never force you into anything. If you're not ready, then you're not ready. We can wait as long as you need."
And there was the problem. Sirius knew himself well enough to know that if he wasn't ready now, then he never would be. He'd been studiously ignoring that fact in an effort to give James the traditional relationship he surely wanted, and look how that had turned out.
"If you want to leave, I'll understand. We can talk tomorrow. Or in a couple days, if you need space. Really, Sirius, it's whatever you want."
"No, I don't- I mean-" Sirius stopped with a frustrated sigh, rubbing a hand over his face. He didn't remember sitting on the toilet lid, but he got up and unlocked the door and opened it, then leaned against the counter. "I don't think I'm ever going to want sex, is the problem."
James's expression was expectedly kind. Expected, because James was always kind to him. "It's not really a problem, but I wish you would've told me. I didn't mean to pressure you."
"I thought I could get past it, you know? But ever since- well, I've had sex before and liked it, so I thought that since I love you, I'd be able to do it. You weren't pressuring me, and I'm sorry if I led you on." Sirius made a face. "Well, I did lead you on, but it was sort of an accident. I was supposed to be able to follow through."
"No, it's- gods, don't apologise. But you could have mentioned this when I first brought up sex, and then we could've taken things a bit slower. That way, even if the end result would be the same, you wouldn't have felt so trapped. Bugger, that sounds like I'm accusing you, doesn't it? Sorry, I didn't mean it that way."
Sirius shook his head before James could continue apologising. "I was worried that you wouldn't want to date me anymore if I told you. Which isn't the best way to start a relationship, I'm aware."
"It's fine." It looked like James was going to say something else, then he paused and hitched a thumb over his shoulder. "D'you want to continue this conversation in the living room?" He quirked a smile. "I promise to keep my hands to myself."
Sirius smiled back weakly. "Sure." If only because this room was a little cold. Plus he felt silly, standing in his boyfriend's toilet after having run away from him.
"So I'm not trying to force a label on you or summat, but are you asexual?"
Sirius squinted at him, doing mental gymnastics to try and figure out what that was supposed to mean. "Isn't that a thing bugs do?" he asked slowly.
James blinked, then grinned. He wasn't mocking Sirius-- to date, he never had-- but he was charmingly amused, like he always was when Sirius didn't know something; James claimed it was because he rarely knew something that Sirius didn't, and that actually seemed likely, considering the sort of person that James was. "That's asexual reproduction, where they don't have to mate to have offspring. I meant asexual as, like, a queer orientation."
"Oh." That made sense, but he also hadn't thought about it before. "I dunno. I just haven't wanted to since..."
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
Sirius looked down and fiddled with the hem of his shirt. "My father sent me to a therapist after it happened. He said it was pretty common for a family member to be the one responsible in underage cases." He shifted his weight uncomfortably. He'd never told anyone before. "Can I hug you?" he mumbled.
"Yeah, of course," James said, holding his arms open.
Sirius dove right in without a second thought. "Thanks," he said automatically.
"Anytime." James rubbed his hand in a soothing circular motion against the middle of Sirius's back. It helped keep his heart from feeling like it was going to beat out of his chest.
He'd never told anyone before because he'd never had to. James was his first boyfriend since then, so it's not as if anyone else he went on dates with had warranted the conversation. Plus, his only friend at the time had been Lily. No one in the family had had to be told, obviously, and Regulus had filled Lily in so that Sirius wouldn't have to; she had never brought it up, except to ask if he was feeling okay every once in a while. "I'm sorry," Sirius muttered. "I thought that I'd be past it by now."
"I hope I'm not overstepping," James said softly, "but have you considered that it's not something you're going to get over? Sometimes things change you. Permanently. Nothing wrong with that."
Unbidden, tears sprung up in his eyes. No one had told him that it was okay for him to be different. Neither Lily nor Regulus had really known what to say to make him feel better. Father had just about killed his sister. Mother liked to pretend that it hadn't happened. The therapist had done his best, but Sirius hadn't really wanted to work with him. He'd gotten Sirius to be comfortable enough going back to school every day, and then Sirius had told his parents that he was better. It was only now, years later, that James told him he was fine for being different than before; Sirius had always wanted to get back to normal.
Sirius sniffled a little, trying to make sure he didn't get any snot on James's shirt. "Thanks. I just- I wanted to be perfect for you."
"Would I sound horribly corny if I said you're already perfect?"
Sirius laughed, wiping at his eyes. "A bit."
"Well. It's the truth."
He laughed again, giving James a grateful squeeze before letting go.
"You want to watch a movie? Or would you rather go home?" James asked.
"A movie sounds good, if you don't mind." In fact, a movie sounded great. There was nothing Sirius wanted more than to cuddle up with James and eat chocolates for the rest of the night.
James smiled at him, like he was delighted that this was the turn their evening had taken. There wasn't a trace of disappointment to be found in his expression, even though Sirius thought it might be warranted. James looked at him like he was always happy to see him, no matter the circumstances. It was hard to believe that Sirius had been so worried about how he'd react.
He was still feeling the lingering effects of his earlier panic, but now he was left feeling the way he always did after he overreacted. In his defense, this was less of an overreaction and more of a miscalculation. He'd assumed that it would always be something he could get past, and what better time to make a recovery than when he was in a loving, wonderful relationship? But he'd been wrong about 'getting back to normal', and he'd definitely been wrong about trying to force his way past it.

Should’ve Said No
Sirius Black x Reader
Marauders Era
Based off the song “Should’ve Said No” by Taylor Swift
<3k
Warnings: Angst and mentions of cheating
A/N: I’m back with another song based fic because that’s one of the few places that I draw inspiration from. I had a three hour car ride, listened to this song on repeat a million times, so in short, this fic just wrote itself! If you enjoy it, like, reblog, comment, or follow (I think you get the gist so far!) It’s my first time writing for Sirius, so I hope you all like it! Happy Reading <3

I knew the risks that came with catching the eye of Hogwarts’ biggest playboy. I knew his reputation. I had stayed away for a decent amount of time, but the boy finally wore me down at the end of sixth year. He asked and asked. He said he was done with his play boy life. I said yes. Everyone was surprised I said yes. Hell, I was surprised that I said yes, but it was worth the risk. Sirius Black had my heart in his hands. He was careful with it too, almost delicate.
Then seventh year kicked in and so did the beginning of quidditch matches and parties. I did as much Common Room rotating for the parties as the next girl, but the one time, the one time I decided that school was more important, he wasn’t strong enough to not ruin everything. Let me go back for a minute.
Lily came up to me during lunch the other day, I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday, and sat with me at the Y/H table.
“Did you finish that Transfiguration homework Saturday?” she asked me casually, but seemed to have a little bit of a tremor in her voice.
“Yeah, Remus was a ton of help. Thank you for telling him that I needed him even though I didn’t want to ask. How was the party?” I asked, thinking nothing of it. It had been Gryffindor’s turn to host, but I wanted to get a good grade in my N.E.W.T. level transfiguration this year, so studying took precedent.
Lily grew quieter suddenly.
“That bad, huh?” I giggled, judging her reaction. “Where’s James?”
I was still so daft. So stupid to think that everything was normal. Lily’s boyfriend and my boyfriend were best friends. It brought us closer than ever and it made me happy. Sound began to fill the Great Hall as others came in for lunch.
“He’ll be along. I just wanted to talk to you,” Lily piped up again. “Are you almost done? Could we go to the loo to talk for a minute?”
“What is with you, Lil?” I was worried now. Lily was usually such a happy presence to be around, but that day, something was off. I gathered my things, following Lily to a bathroom a little ways from the Great Hall. What was she so upset over? I hoped she was alright. “Oh, look! There’s James and Sirius!”
I had started to call them over, but Lily quickly pulled me through the door of the bathroom.
“Seriously, Lily. What’s up? Did James do something? Should I warm up my wand?”
“He didn’t do anything, Y/N.” I just stared at her, mouth slightly opened. I was wracking my mind over what had potentially happened that had her acting this way
I realize now that I was so worried for her when she was just being protective over me.
She finally spoke. “I didn’t want to be the one to tell you this, but you deserve to know. He isn’t going to tell you, Y/N/N, but I like you and it isn’t fair.”
“What are you rambling on about?”
“Sirius cheated on you…” she finally blurted out. My whole body went numb. I didn’t even hear her say who it was with. I later found out it was Marlene. That was a whole other beast to deal with. We were never that close anyways, so it didn’t surprise me.
Like I said, I knew his reputation.
“Y/N/N? It was at the party. I don’t know if he was drunk or what. I wasn’t paying much attention. He begged me not to tell you and James even begged me to give him the chance to tell you. I did. It’s been nearly 5 days and he hadn’t and I couldn’t just watch him with you, acting normal. I’m sorry.”
I realized then that I hadn’t said anything yet. I stood there, staring at the sinks behind Lily. I didn’t even look at her. My gaze shifted to my face in the mirror. The color had drained from my face. I couldn’t even see any emotion in my features. I could only feel my heart shattering into a million pieces.
Then Lily asked those dreaded words. “Are you okay?” I looked at her, a blank stare still ensuing, “Oh, no. You’re mad at me. I am so sorry, really. I didn’t want to tell you all of this.”
Words finally found their way to my lips. “I’m not mad at you, Lily. I’m mad at him. I’m going back to my room. I may see you tomorrow. I don’t know.”
I bolted to the door and for the crowded halls. I didn’t want to be with anyone anymore. I heard Lily calling to me over the noise. “But, we still have classes today!”
I wasn’t going to classes. I was processing. Processing was allowed right? I just found out that my boyfriend, correction, my now ex-boyfriend, cheated on me. I would face him later, but for now, I needed time to myself.
With classes continuing, my room was completely empty. The moment the doors shut, the tears began to roll down my face. I scanned the contents next to my bed. There were those stupid flowers that Sirius had given me the previous Friday.
I stood in front of them on my night stand. I felt all the hurt and anger that had been numb explode. They burst. My hands acted on their own accord. I picked up the flowers in my hand. They were so delicate, but the anger flowed through my veins and instinct threw them against the wall. When the noise of the limp plants didn’t give me any satisfaction, I followed the flowers with the vase. The smashing sound of glass against the wall was all I needed to hear to know that I was broken inside.
I skipped my afternoon classes, falling into a heavy sleep, exhausted from the crying. It felt like a hippogriff had run me over. I got up to use the bathroom later and assess my running makeup and horrendous bed head. It was bad, but I didn’t care. I enchanted the door so that no one could come in. They’d only be able to enter when I gave permission. I just needed to be alone in this school that was now seeming all too small.
When I skipped dinner too, I knew someone was bound to come searching for me eventually. Only, I was expecting Lily or one of my roommates to knock on my door. For some reason, the idea of Sirius coming to talk to me never crossed my mind.
I heard someone attempt to push against the door as I curled up under my blankets. I felt like they would protect me from the world.
“Love? I know you’re in there,” Sirius called out to me from behind the door. “You skipped classes and dinner.”
His voice was so calm. Surely Lily told him that I knew the truth about his weekend. He should be a mess like I was right at that moment!
“Go away. I’m not feeling well,” I lied. I wasn’t ready to confront him then. I wasn’t ready to even look at him.
“Evans told me,” he sighed. I could hear his fingernails scratching against the wood. Another pause. “I know you know.”
“Then you know why I don’t really want to talk to you.” I couldn’t help but let the blunt words take the place of my gasping and sobbing. I’d rather him hear the harshness in my voice than any of the hurt.
“Y/N, darling. I will take it all back if you just give me one chance. It was a moment of weakness, love. With the party and the alcohol, it just happened. It meant nothing though.”
I had no response for him. I wasn’t going to give him that satisfaction. 45 minutes may have passed. Sirius tried to speak to me a few more times. I even heard him trying to counter the charm I used to lock the door, but he couldn’t. He had no choice but to leave.
I endured the cooing and sympathies from my roommates, but I hated it. I hated feeling like this. I hated feeling hopeless. This wasn’t my fault. I was a victim, but I’m not weak.
I couldn’t sleep all night, so I silently moved around the room and placed all of Sirius’ things in a bag. His records of the muggle music he adored, the remnants of the flowers, even the pictures of the two of us. I didn’t want them.
I marched down to breakfast with the strong intent of telling him off in front of everyone. Everybody in this bloody school knew what had happened by now. I’m sure Marlene basked in the mess she caused and would tell anyone who wanted to hear about it. So, I wasn’t going to let our break-up be ruined by rumors. I’d let everyone witness it first-hand.
I combed my hair. Redid my make-up. This didn’t hide the fact that I had been crying all day and night, but I don’t care. I needed to do this.
So now, here I am, standing outside the Great Hall. Students from all the houses are eating their breakfasts and I’m holding this bulging bag.
I feel Lily Evans’ bright green eyes on me as I walk down the length of the Gryffindor table to where she was sitting with Sirius and the other Marauders. From the short glance towards her, I can’t tell if she is scared about what I am going to do or proud. I don’t really care at this point though. I am here on a mission.
“Pads,” Remus whispers as he is the first one to see me walking towards the group (aside from Lily).
I’m carrying this bag and just thinking to myself how strange it is to think the songs we used to sing, the smiles, the flowers, and everything is just gone. His dark, piercing eyes met my own. He doesn’t look like a mess. He looks perfect like he always does. This recognition just fires the anger that has been building up inside of me all morning.
“Y/N? You’re up! Excellent!” Sirius smiles at me. He reaches out to take the bag from me as if he’s helping. “I was thinking perhaps we could have a chat this morning before classes? We could go to the courtyard.”
I examine him. He seems different to me now. He was pretending like nothing was wrong while he was in front of his friends. I can read him. I know this.
“I don’t think so, Sirius. Those are your things.” I spit out at him, pointing to the bag now in his hands. Hoping that I am wearing a blank face, I watch his fall. I know he can tell what I’m feeling through my Y/E/C eyes. He always did say that they gave me away every time.
“I told you last night though. It didn’t mean anything.”
Scoffing, I can’t stop myself from shaking my head. “No, Sirius. Yesterday I found out about you and even now just looking at you feels absolutely wrong! I heard you last night. You say that you’d take it all back given one chance. It was a moment of weakness-” My arms were flailing as I began to yell. I’ve never been capable of keeping my voice down. I know I’m loud. “And you said yes!” The words bellow out of my throat and I feel like they echo. I don’t know. I’m mad. I’m not finished either.
Sirius looks at me as if he wants to speak, so I have to cut him off quickly.
“You don’t get to talk yet.”
The silence of the Great Hall was deafening. I know that everyone is watching us. Although, I am feeling extra strong. Maybe all those girls that Sirius screwed over in the past were sending me their strength.
“I was studying the night of the party. It was the first one that I missed and you messed it all up! Here’s what should have happened.” My hand motions are taking over as the words roll off my tongue. I didn’t even plan any of this. “You should’ve said no, you should’ve gone home, you should’ve thought twice before you let it all go. This school is so damn small that you should’ve known that word about what you did with her would get back to me!”
Maybe I shouldn’t have just pointed to Marlene at that point…oh well. Put my focus back on Sirius.
“I should have been there in the back of your mind. I shouldn’t be asking myself why all of this happened. You shouldn’t be sitting outside of my room begging for forgiveness at my feet. If you would’ve said no, we would still be together. I did everything right! This is your fault!”
His eyes widened at my words. I can’t look at him anymore. I’m not eating breakfast, but it’s fine. I would be on a high from this for at least a little while. I could probably get through my morning classes. I don’t have any with Sirius, so that wouldn’t be a problem. I do have them with Remus, so that could pose an issue, but with what I am feeling right now, I can take it.
“Y/N! Wait up!” Lily’s red hair chased me from the crowded hall. Her face was lighting up everything else. “That was awesome! I mean, Sirius isn’t looking too great, but you were fantastic! I think some people wanted to applaud you on your way out.”
My high began to fade. I didn’t mean to make him feel awful. I just didn’t want to let it seem like he could walk all over me and what he did was okay. It isn’t okay! Cheating is one of the lowest things a person could do!
Lily could see the uncertainty on my face. “Was I too hard on him? Should I have done that in private?” I could feel my eyes begin to puff and redden again.
“He deserved it, Y/N/N. What he did to you wasn’t in private, so I think this is justice.” Lily smiled.
That smile quickly fell. I turned to follow her line of sight. Sirius stood there, just looking at me. He was being quick to run up to me.
“Can we please talk?”
“That’s not a good idea.”
“I said I’m sorry. It’s all in the past!” His eyes are pleading with me, but I just can’t do it. “I want to be with you, Y/N! I have wanted to be with you for the longest time. It was just a moment of weakness. If you could just give me a chance, please?”
“You hurt me, Black.” I needed to stop and cringe. I used to only call him by his last name and it felt wrong to be using it again. “You can tell I’ve been crying, just look at my eyes! I’m sure everyone can see it. And you know all the right things to say! You’ve always been good with words. That’s one of the reasons I fell for you. But do you honestly expect me to believe that we could ever be the same after this? You should’ve said no, Black.”
I turn to walk away, Lily being supportive next to me, but something is tugging on me, a question I didn’t realize I had, so I turn back to Sirius.
“I need to ask you something before I go. I can’t resist. Was it worth it? Was she worth all of this?”
Sirius hung his head. I haven’t seen him like this since he decided to leave home, and I was just a friend at that point. “No. She wasn’t.”
I nod, accepting the fact that he understands that he messed up. Maybe, in the future I can forgive him for this and even be friends, but like I said, we could never be the same. Walking away right now seems like the best option for me though. With Lily beside me, I am going to go to classes and I am going to heal and move on. I said my peace to Sirius Black. He made a mistake, but I would not be the victim of the next one.
