Idea for the seasonal god sacrifices. Each of the gods are strengthened by the sacrifice/offering of something thematically appropriate to the god (One-Eye is blood as previously established, perhaps Rock is knowledge?, perhaps Midnight is handicrafts?, perhaps Sol is secrets?).
Sol will accept blood sacrifices (like they did from Harry), but it doesn't actually benefit them in any tangible way. They just accept them because (a) they think it's funny, and (b) it helps them filter for cats who are easily manipulated into doing crimes.
THIS is absolutely perfect. GENIUS addition, anon. Adopted.
The exact sacrifices for each God though... we'll need to work on that. I think they should be a bit more befitting of classic sacrifices-- things of great value as well as thematically appropriate concepts
We can make Rock's offerings based on precious, rare objects. Things that are unique. He does archival and organization, but is generally frustrated by the squabbles of mortals. Also it would mean that Jayfeather can take his stick and then trade it back to him because nothing is more unique and precious than his personal record.
Midnight makes sense as being powered by things that are handmade, or that effort was put into. Love and passion.
As for Sol... he engages in a lot of games, and likes to make up rules and have people abide by them. His could be mere attention and praise, like prayers. Or it could be that you actually make your offerings to him by performing tasks to begin with, like Hercules' labors to appease the gods.
In any case, absolutely, Sol does not need blood sacrifices. He only did that because it's funny and filtered out Harry perfectly as the kind of cat who would be fun to shack up with.

Me: I shouldn't disturb Neil Gaiman. I shouldn't send an ask unless I really have no way of getting the information otherwise. I'll check old interviews and all the articles that vaguely mention the subject. Of course it goes without saying that I'll read though the FAQ in its entirety. Only then, will I send an ask. However, I'd be very polite and praise his work, as anyone would. I'd also keep it short, because I don't want to waste his time. But I'd keep it very very respectful. I'd be sending a message to a very talented, amazing author that deals with god knows how many like me. Or I'd just stay in the dark and not send him an ask. Yeah, I'll do that.

inspector constable, I would like to report a murder
the way Crowley keeps tilting his head up during the confession
the way he tilts it up even more just before putting on his glasses
he is crying by then, and he doesn’t want the tears to roll down

It’s the casual way Mobius sets his chaotic boyfriend The God of Mischief loose on everyone. Mobius is so attuned to Loki, he immediately knows how he’s going to react, offering him a gentle warning or permission to proceed. And Loki carefully waits for that permission before he acts, implying this is a familiar dynamic that’s been established beforehand.
