Safar ka hi tha main, Safar ka raha

in each place i have stayed and called 'home', i have been a person with the same name but a different soul altogether. i have been shifting places in time less than an average person takes to settle at one (maybe less than that), but yes i called every place as my 'home'.

I don't remember the last time i was 'stationary'. i have always been on the move, so much that before my friends (the real ones) ask "how are you?", they have begun to ask "where are you? in which corner of the world?" and i always have an involuntary smile on my face. somewhere no one changed their home delivery addresses so frequently than i did.

one of my wishes in this life was to disappear at a point in life and start a new one as a different person somewhere else. changing places has allowed me to explore the characters in me with a multifaceted set of natures like a performer on stage changing characters with each drama.

changing places has been like falling in love over and over again. getting to know it well, disliking a few things at first and then getting used to it and before you know you are on the brink of attachment, the place changes but you still love the same.

and yes i call changing places as falling in love, because unlike kuch kuch hota hai, i don't think we love only once. we love again and again, and we move past many of them. there comes a moment where after you've called a place/person as 'home', you have to leave it. i have said to many.

but i hope someday I will find my forever home. where the storm inside my soul relocating my existence will come to ease, the journey, the quest to something uncharted now will find its destination.

Did You know?

Approximately 21. 87 lakh students were registered for CBSE Class10 Board Exams this academic year!!

Just wondering how much prep is required to be a 'ToPpeRrr'.

Okay, so I am even one of the 21laks students who appeared for the well-known 'Board Exams' this year and this blog is not about the board exam experience-rather, this is about the overall experience of class 10, 'Dasvi Kaksha'.

I think it's true when people say, “Covid changed everything ”coz it really did for me. After 7th grade, I literally went to school directly into 10th grade (I attended online schooling for 2 years). I didn't know that the bunch of friends who were with me from 1st, and with whom I celebrated on the last day of my 7th grade, I wouldn't be able to meet them for 2 years and we wouldn't be in the same class anymore. Like, just imagine the Earth separated from its twin planet, Venus.

Anyways, the 10th grade began with a whole bunch of new kids, who looked like they were studying for 30hrs a day!! Like seriously, they appeared to be too studious and serious for me!! Time passed by and we all adapted to this change. Those unknown faces became known.

My experience of this grade , if you don't consider this separation,the number of times my class was relocated , the number of times I collided with some strangers in school and got stuck in awkward situations, then this year has been great for me. I won a debating competition, wrote a play and bagged third position amongst 28 schools and also got to be a part of the school's student council as the Deputy Head Girl (although I didn't have any job to do other than wearing the badge and roaming around).

Not only this, but I also strengthened my friendships with some crazy friends who were with me even when I brutally lost 2 different competitions this year, and started writing poems ‘kavitaayein’ (btw, 2 of them are published now in 2 anthologies).

In short, I enjoyed my ‘DASVI’ to the fullest. Without any regrets, I can say that I didn't just study, throughout the session, mugging up the syllabus, and became a book worm, but I also won prizes in other co-curricular activities, didn't compromise on my other interests and enjoyed this journey throughout .

dast-e-talab | rohaniat ka safar | Spiritual Urdu poetry with Roman Translation |

In the days of my youth, I went through some such circumstances that my thoughts turned towards the pure being of Allah. In the beginning, I had to deal with the states of faith and disbelief at times. Since then, I had started writing my emotions and states in the form of verses and poems. But except for a few close friends, I never tried to recite my poetry in poetry gatherings or publish it. But after retirement, now on the insistence of my dear wife, I am taking the courage to present to the readers a part of my writings written during the period of about thirty years of my life.

This poetic material of mine is a portrayal in the form of verses of a continuous journey of my life where a person travels in the world of Sufism riding on the chariot of emotions of desires, happiness, sadness, peace, love, pain and suffering, supplication and demand and writes down the unseen states and effects.

I hope that these writings of mine will not only be interesting for the readers but will also be a means of learning and understanding something new along with the journey of the world of Sufism and the encouragement of the readers will give me the courage to publish the second part of my writings which is the material beyond these writings.

New Odia Book Ama Gharara Hal Chal By Gopal Chandra Praharaj

Gopala Chandra Praharaj (27 September 1874 – 16 May 1945) was a writer and linguist in the Odia language, well known as the compiler of the Purnachandra Odia Bhashakosha. He also contributed significantly to Odia literature by his works in prose. A lawyer by profession, Praharaj wrote several satirical and analytical essays, in magazines such as Utkal Sahitya, Rasachakra, Nababharata, and Satya Samachar, on the social, political and cultural issues of contemporary Odisha (Odisha) during early 20th century.

Praharaj was one of the satirists of early 20th century. His writings were published in many magazines of that period; Utkal Sahitya, Rasachakra, Nababharata, Satya Samachar and many others. Dealing with social issues, political condition of Orissa and India, and socio-cultural mentality of contemporary people these essays were written in humorous style and critical manner. Some of his essays were published in shape of books during his life. His notable works are Bhagabata Tungire Sandhya, Bai Mohanty Panji, Dunia ra Halchal, Nananka Bastani.Some of his writings are now difficult to obtain.

Praharaj published a book Utkalara Kahani dealing with the folk stories of Odisha. Among the remarkable works of Praharaj is "Dhaga Dhamali Rachana" containing the idioms of Odia language. His other works include his autobiography, many poems and stories written for children, a book namely Bhasakosha Safar.
