When Paramahansa Yogananda was very young, before he met his Kriya Yoga guru Sri Yukteswar Giri, he was initiated into the path of Radhaswami (Sant Mat, Surat Shabd Yoga). See my article on this: https://santmat.tumblr.com/post/77814298813/the-yogananda-sant-mat-radhasoami-connection-a

And one will find "echos of shabd", if you will, in his teachings, whether understood and appreciated these days or not. Like for instance, in, The Second Coming of Christ, he writes:

"By listening to this omnipresent sound the consciousness of the body -- caged soul begins gradually to spread itself from the limitations of the body into omnipresence. One listening to this cosmic sound will find his consciousness spreading with it to Limitlessness."

किताब के बारे में... ‘माही’ एक ऐसे परिवार की कहानी है, जिसमें एक साल की बच्ची माही का अपहरण हो जाता है। इंस्पेक्टर राघव उसे तलाश करने का भरपूर प्रयत्न करता है किन्तु उसका कोई पता नहीं चल पाता है। इंस्पेक्टर राघव द्वारा माही के केस के इन्वेस्टीगेशन में शक की सुई किसी एक बिंदु पर नहीं टिक पाती है और एक के बाद एक रहस्य सामने आते हैं जो कि अथाह निश्छल प्रेम, करुण वियोग, प्रतिशोध, घृणा, उपकार के रेशमी किन्तु कटीले धागों से गुंथे होते हैं और इंस्पेक्टर राघव की इन्वेस्टीगेशन का अन्त मुख्य अपहरणकर्ता की गिरफ़्तारी और अबोध माही की हत्या की स्वीकारोक्ति के रूप में होता है। इसके बाद भी पीड़ित परिवार को एक और गुत्थी का सामना करना पड़ जाता है।

"Light is always within us. When the mind is settled, we see that Light. When this state is developed, we see it everywhere, even with open physical eyes. You see the dark veil, and the Light within that. In the Light you see the blue sky and the golden center shining resplendently -- in the still pose of mind; and when you try to make and use your own efforts, your mind's still pose is disturbed, and you lose it. We need not make any efforts. Our clutching will stand in the way and retard our progress. We should, however, make effortless effort. "Sit fully devoted and fully absorbed with the inner gaze fixed, losing all sense of effort -- as effort involves a taint of ego -- leaving all to the Master within."
