Peter glances up from the chessboard as the door creaks open. Regulus kicks the door closed behind myself and shrugs off his outer robes as he walks towards Peter.

Regulus promptly throws himself down so he’s laying with his head rested on Peter’s thigh. Peter chuckled and moves Regulus’ hair off of his forehead.

“You’re very dramatic” Peter teases.

Regulus opens one of his eyes and squints up at his boyfriend. “Runs in the family.”

“Family runs in the family.”

Regulus reaches up to swat his chest, scowling. Peter grabs onto his hand and brings it up to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to the back of it. Regulus’ eyes soften fondly.

“Anyway. I think I should go vegetarian.”

“You’d don’t even like spinach, I doubt you’ll last very long.”

Regulus wiggles his eyebrows suggestively and Peter flicks him on the forehead.

“James is vegetarian, so is Remus. I think I’ll manage.”

“You can’t eat marshmallows. Or Monty’s roast lamb you’re so fond of.”

Regulus’ lips twitch and Peter sees the moment the idea floats away. “Hm. I don’t think that’s a fair trade. I like meat too much for that.”

Peter chokes out a laugh and Regulus grins wickedly at him.

hey! i was interested in your regupete posts or whatever you called it. could you maybe give some more explanation? i havent heard of it before but it seems interesting.

omg ofc i'm always happy to talk about themmm- thanks for the ask! i am going to infodump though, so get ready for a long post lol

so basically regupete, known by many other names (my favorite being black plague), is the ship between regulus black and peter pettigrew. it seems kind of random and i did actually start shipping it as a crack ship but i just think they're so fun together.

i say they're canon because they were both death eaters of the same age at the same time with ties to the same people. obviously, peter was best friends with remus, james, and sirius, and regulus was sirius' brother. i just think it's so silly of them to be little plotting backstabbers together, yk? like they at least made out once in canon, that's just a fact. peter is just irresistible, even to the great regulus black!!!

can you imagine both of them being death eaters running around and torturing and killing people for funsies and being absolute menaces???

i also just think peter is a super shippable character which probably has something to do with the fact that he's rarely shipped with anybody and often pushed off as a character altogether. why not regulus with peter, honestly? they're both sarcastic and not quite enough for what people expected of them and silly little guys that i would like to keep in my pocket forever.

i especially started thinking about it when i looked back at one of my own pieces and realized how in awe of peter regulus was when he first met him and how much peter was showing off and i was like oh there's potential there.

so for my personal headcanons, regulus met peter and was like omigodhe'ssocool and peter is like really good with spells and really kind but also hella sarcastic and witty which reggie loves. not to mention he's gorgeous. regulus is peter's best friend's little nerd brother who's really secretly quite fit and effortlessly amazing at quidditch. i mean come on, everybody knows everybody had a crush on both of them why not each other, huh?? explain that!

don't get me wrong i still fucking adore jegulus, but i also really like regupete and given their canon potential i think they need more attention! in the case of jegulus, i personally think it's hilarious that regulus and peter hooked up once or twice and james was soooo upset and they never let him forget about it. it just. comes up in conversation all the time, and every time james doesn't let go of regulus for like 5 business days (that's part of the reason they do it).

that's my little two cents on regupete/lionrat/plack/black plague!! atp i might have to add a canon-compliant or canon-adjacent regupete story to my list of things i want to write *sigh.* i'm already coming up with ideas, goddammit

to me, massive bestie vibe. like,, they're both trans ftm and remus helps regulus a lot with it, they read and go to the library together, they make fun of their friend's to each other

regulus definitely had a crush on him though, and i feel like remus finds him attractive but sirius would murder him if he ever even voiced that.

like,, ofc with all my ships that involve remus (seerwolf...) remus is too in love with sirius, which he is oblivious to, to focus on the person they do love, just never enough, never more than sirius

regulus 100% had an ongoing crush on remus. so true.

lily/marlene- 8/10

so each other's first kiss/proper crush. have made out numerous occasions since.

they so run away from home all the time and just travel to where each other live to grab them on their like 3 day adventure

they're so the time of friends that would date. like if they weren't dating anyone or had a crush on anyone else, they'd get together. but you know what? universe hates them. when lily is crushing/dating, marlene is waiting for her. when marlene is crushing/dating, lily is waiting for her.

it's years of just waiting for the right time but the right time never comes.

peter/regulus- 6/10

the way i view their relationship is quite different to i think how ppl that ship the two view it.

the idea of them two in a relationship or even close friends is ultimately giving me war times where they're both (terrible) death eaters (maybe cause of my fic idk.)

like,, morally grey outcasts that have no one but each other but struggle to trust the other since they know they've both betrayed everyone they love in their life so why wouldn't they do that to each other, they both value their own life above all and are trying to change bit its hard??? such a vibe.
