The Curse of Bloodlines (Thranduil x Feanorian reader)
Tumblr media
Thranduil x Feanorian reader
Genre: angst (shit ton of it)
Summary: You wonder if your child would be born before the passing of Spring or if they would be born in the creeping days of fall. 'Not long now,' you whisper to your belly.
Part 2: The Curse of Heart | Part 3: The Curse of the Uncursed
Tumblr media
Day 475th of staying in your room. The air carried hints of creeping spring. The cloying fragrance of blooming flowers made its way into your room from wide open windows that were never closed. You could not bring yourself to close them. They were the only reminder of the world that existed outside your room.
The afternoon sun left you feeling drowsy as you huddled closer to your favorite nook next to the windows. Resting your head on the wall, you stretched your back to alleviate the hovering ache that rarely left you these days. You gently massaged your swollen feet, or at least tried to with your belly getting in the way.
You wondered if your child would be born before the passing of spring or if they would be born in the creeping days of fall. "Not long now," you whispered to your belly.
"You would be the prince of the Woodland Realm. Everyone would love you like they do for your father. You would grow up with so many people looking after you," you sniffed as you felt the butterflies of your child's movement under your hands. "Your father would give you anything you could wish for. He is an ellon who cares immensely for his people."
You tried to focus on the little flutter that tickled your palm or the cool breeze. You tried to ward away the thoughts that plagued your mind. They had been frequent these days. A premonition of what was to come. You avoided those thoughts to protect your child from their shadow.
However, a sense of mourning clouded your heart. It was the realization that you would not live to see your son. You could feel it in your soul and your body. Long ago, your great-grandmother Miriel had been the first-ever elf to die on the blessed lands, and now you felt the same fate looking back at you.
You were a Finwean, the granddaughter of Feanor, and the daughter of Celegorm. You hadn't known it for the longest time. You had grown up with a single mother who never spoke of your father. You didn't dare stir the grief that lay heavy on your mother's heart. Your father's name was never uttered in your household.
Maybe that was the reason why you assumed your silver hair to be from your Sinda mother. You simply did not fathom the possibility of it being a paternal trait. You did not care for your green eyes, which seemed to be a gift from your grandmother Nerdanel. Never had you ever thought of belonging to the cursed bloodline of the Noldor. The Silmarils had never called for your soul, you were not oath-bound, and your soul didn't long for your home beyond the seas.
It fooled you and Thranduil, who once loved you. He truly did, at the beginning of your courtship when every second of your existence was spent next to him. You both had wed early, and none had objected. You had once been the crown princess of Greenwood the Great.
Then it had come. A letter from your uncle who wandered unknown shores. It was a letter that shattered your world. And the beloved crown princess of Greenwood the Great became a kinslayer's daughter. Child of an ellon who had once slain the King of Beleriand.
All was lost when you learned of your father. Your people were no longer yours. Your mother, an unknown elleth who had picked you up from an abandoned camp. Most of all, your husband and all his love were gone.
You should have resented your uncle or your father, yet you could not bring yourself to. It would have been easy to deny the claim in the letter. It could have saved your marriage, but how could you? It seemed as if it was meant to be. How else could your father's name find you despite all that had happened? How else could your uncle, whom many called a wraith, remember you?
So you bore all the hate, anger, and resentment that came towards you. It was all you could offer these people. All that you could give your husband, who refused to look at you.
Thranduil had waited for you to deny the claim in the letter. He had expected it to be a lie. You would have too if not for everything pointing to one truth. Your silence had been the only answer you could offer your husband, a fact that broke his heart.
Your bond stretched thin with the barest presence lingering. It lingered on the edge of snapping. Had Miriel felt the same way too? You seemed to share a fate similar to your great-grandmother's. Maybe someday you would get a chance to ask her.
You would bear it all for the sake of your child. Even the confinement of your room was an acceptable fate to persevere for your and Thranduil's child.
It had been an unspoken sentence laid down by Oropher. You were banned from the gardens and woods you grew up in. Stables, lakes, halls, kitchens...you were prohibited from them. It started with guards following your every step and ended with the room you had not left for the past year.
It could have been a prison cell if you had not been carrying the heir of the Woodland realm. Or maybe you would have been kicked out of your home. You would have accepted it. Maybe that would have appeased all those who had been wronged by your father.
Therefore, you did not mourn the weariness that lay heavy on your soul. Whatever doom awaited you would free Thranduil and your child from your existence. None in Greenwood would burden them with your family's wrongdoings.

I won't write about Galadriel. Listen, I think Galadriel's actress from RoP is absolutely stunning, but firstly I still haven't watched the show, and secondly, when I first watched LotR as a child I always saw Galadriel as this wise grandmotherly figure. So writing for her would feel a bit strange, I am very sorry.

Imagine your feanorian family reacting to you courting someone
Tumblr media
(Another headcanon for little nerdanel’s adopted daugher collection. I hope you like it. This is oc x reader by the way, meet Melo)
Requested by @eunoiaastralwings
Warnings: none really, some goofy crushing, pining, family fluff, protective brothers, and finally some courting and a reaction from the family.
-------------------------------------------------------------
-Your family was famous and known for their misdeed in the past regarding the kin slaying and the silmarils. The wounds were still there, but after several years of peace– things had significantly calmed down, and you could live more peacefully without anyone seeking a fight.
-People did still talk badly about your brothers and father. You did not like it, but since there was nothing you could do about it– you learned to ignore them and continue your passion for painting.
-You had grown into a beautiful young elleth, and your skills and paintings allowed you to become quite famous among people.
-Your techniques sometimes were considered a hazard since you had a tendency to throw paint and make a mess, but the outcome of your paintings would even make the proudest of elves captivated by their beauty and clean work. The balance of colors, strokes, and even the soul put into them had made people spread the word, and you almost got a new commission every week.
-It got you busy, but you didn’t mind since you could spend more time painting and being in your world of colors than dealing with drama and people who only sought trouble. It was like a dance to you when you threw paint onto the white canvas and started working with the brush, creating each paint stroke with grace as you often hummed music in your mind.
-Music was one of your inspirations. It helps you concentrate and keep your mind active as you paint. You even sometimes had Maglor play for you as you worked, but you have often listened to what you hear in your mind. It makes you lose yourself in thoughts, like today when you had a visitor.
-Melo was one of the low-class elves from the Vanyar with a Noldor heritage. He had a rough beginning ever since the kin slaying took place– and his father, among many, left with the host that left for Middle Earth. He was just a little child back then, and it had been hard for his loving mother since he was part Noldor.
-People had shunned him for it like they shunned every Noldor that remained in Aman back then. It wasn’t easy being a low classed elf, especially being half Noldor despite looking like every Vanyar.
-Things had calmed down, and he had managed to build a balanced life for himself and his mother as a scribe.
-He wanted to give his mother a gift, so when he saw some of your works displayed in the homes of lords and people above him. He was impressed and captivated, so he sought you out in hopes you would take a commission from him.
-He knew about your family like everyone else, but your story always made him curious since you were adopted into the family by Nerdanel and have accepted your seven brothers and father despite the truth about them being kinslayers.
- He was nervous when he first walked through the hallways. You were technically a princess while he was just a scribe, and there were rumors about how you were just as mad as the rest of your family, but he didn’t believe such a thing until he heard strange banging sounds.
-He found his way to your workplace and witnessed as you were throwing paint buckets at a white canvas with force, each bucket creating a loud bang and a huge mess with paint.
-He was confused and almost believed the rumors to be true– till you took out your paintbrush and began painting the messed canvas with deep focus while humming a melody he had not heard before.
-Melo was baffled yet captivated by your way of working, and he couldn't help but watch as you blended the colors and soon painted a beautiful landscape with animals and flowers. He did not know how long he had been watching, but you were shortly done with the painting and standing in front of it with an approving gaze.
-You stood silent for a moment before finally speaking, acknowledging his presence.
-” Well…are you just going to stand there or say something?” You questioned him with a smile as he broke from his thoughts and spluttered incoherent words in embarrassment.
-Melo was nervous when you were now giving your attention to him, but he managed to collect himself to explain his visit and see if you would take a commission to make a portrait of his mother as a gift for her.
-He was prepared for rejection since he heard people used to pay for your work, and he was not wealthy enough to pay for anything worth your skills. He was surprised when you just laughed and explained you used to sell your work because you and your mother used to be struggling, but now that you were well off, you paint for a price that is usually cheap and sometimes even free.
-His commission and wish for a canvas size were moderate, so he didn’t need to pay you.
-He felt a bit embarrassed for believing an old rumor, but he was relieved and liked how casual you were for royalty.
-You found his little embarrassed antics kinda adorable and found his shyness rather endearing that you couldn’t help but tease him just a little.
-You ended up talking a bit more as you accepted his commission, and he handed you a picture of his mother. You took a look at his mother and told him you found her rather beautiful, which made him blush a little.
-He was also a bit flustered when he realized he had been rambling about things while you had been listening to him this whole time and apologized for boring you. You laughed and told him you didn’t mind because you found his rambling adorable.
-The encounter was short lives as he had to return to work, so you bid him farewell and promised to inform him when the painting would be ready.
-It was such an intriguing meeting, and there was something special about him because you couldn’t stop thinking about him.
-You were disappointed because you thought you would not see him again till the painting was ready, and you would have to bid him goodbye, but it changed when you joined a meeting with your family and found him standing in the corner documenting.
-You were rather happy to see him again, so you couldn’t help but walk over to talk to him.
-Melo was startled when you greeted him, but he returned the greeting, and you both talked throughout the meeting. You apologized that you couldn't start his commission early because you had several pre-ordered commissions, which would take time before you could begin his. He assured he didn’t mind and that he would gladly wait.
-Time passed fast because before you knew it– the meeting was already over, and Melo was panicking because he was supposed to write everything down, yet he got caught talking with you. Having empty pages was never a good thing in his line of work.
-His supervisor was pretty angry and scolded Melo for slacking, so you interfered and took the blame since it was you– who disrupted his work, so you convinced them to be lenient and leave Melo only with a strict warning not to do it again.
-Melo thanked you for your help and then asked next time that you don’t come to talk to him when he was working, so he won’t get into trouble again. You only laughed and promised to avoid that in the future before you heard your family calling you, and you bid him farewell for now.
-He bid you farewell as well– then you both returned to your own things.
-Melo was honestly surprised to see you again and how eager you were to talk to him. He did enjoy it and was surprised you took the blame and helped him out of trouble instead of leaving him alone to deal with it. Not many people would do that, so he was grateful.
-He couldn’t stop thinking about you since you were so much kinder than how people made you out to be.
-It was the same for you as you couldn't stop thinking about him again. You wanted to hear him talk and see that adorable smile again. He was running through your mind so much that you couldn't properly focus on painting commissions, so you decided to go out and buy more paint from the market.
-When you saw him in the market holding a basket and going through some food stalls, you got excited and almost ran up to him to greet him.
-Melo was surprised but equally pleased to see you again, so you both talked throughout the day, going from stall to stall. You talked about your passions and interest in work and shared some drama.
-Time passed fast once again, and you returned home in a happy mood. Apparently, you were in such a good mood that your mother noticed right away and asked you about it, which you didn’t mind sharing.
-Nerdanel chuckled and explained how it sounded like you had a crush on your new little friend.
-You didn’t think about it at first, but when you started seeing Melo more often at the market and observed how you felt after them. You started considering it because you decided to paint a portrait of him from your memory once.
-It was a good portrait, but you felt unsatisfied because you wanted to make it properly where he modeled for you.
-You decided to confirm it by asking Maglor since he knew a lot about romance, and when he explained how being in love worked, it hit you pretty hard, and you got excited by the realization.
-You thanked Maglor for his help and decided to barge into Maedhros’s room to tell you about your discovery. He was startled and almost spilled his drink on the book he was reading, but he listened as you rambled about your crush and asked him to keep it a secret from the rest of your brothers. He promised to keep quiet and wished you good luck trying to win the ellon’s heart.
-You then went to find your mother and asked for advice on how to win someone’s heart.
-Nerdanel was prepared for it since you spoke about Melo for the first time, so she made you sit down and gave you a brief lecture on how to charm someone. She even gave you old tips on how she used to flirt with Feanor, who used to be nervous around her back when they were courting.
-You almost laughed at it because you couldn't imagine someone like your father being nervous. You and your mother giggled so much that Feanor came to check on you to see what was so funny since he heard you from a hallway.
-You left him outside the matter and started planning how to charm Melo’s heart.
-You met with Melo as usual since you were now good friends, but this time you threw in the conversation couple of hints and pick-up lines which left him incredibly flustered.
-You decided to help him buy stuff when he didn’t have enough money and always refused when he tried to offer to repay you.
-You became a bit touchy as well since you liked touching and holding his incredibly soft hands, but you were always careful not to overwhelm him and apologized whenever he noticed, telling him your hands slipped. Even though; it was on purpose.
-You even used an excuse to meet his mother for better details for the portrait. You called her even more beautiful than in the picture, leaving Melo even more flustered but happy that you thought so well of his mother since your father had a history of thinking lowly of the Vanyar.
-You sometimes even see each other in events and meetings, and while you promised not to disturb him when he was working, you sometimes threw in some words and lines which would leave him blushing for the rest of the day.
-Melo was confused by your change in behavior and how bold you had become with him. He didn’t mind– though, because he kinda liked it even though he probably shouldn’t. He did try to figure out the meaning of things and gifts you started giving him.
-You started inviting him to your painting room, allowing him to watch as you painted, and even allowing him to try to paint something. He felt a bit embarrassed because his painting skills were on a beginner's level, and nothing compares to yours, even though you assured him his paintings were great and adorable.
-Then, one day, when Melo was waiting for you. He found a couple of portraits you had made of him in a corner, and he couldn't help but stare in wonder and with a red face because he now knew the meaning behind your strange actions.
-You froze, caught red-handed as you watched him look at the portraits you made of him. You did not mean for him to see them yet, so you felt embarrassed and hoped you didn’t cross the line this time.
-When Melo asked about them, you mustered the courage to explain and confess your feelings here and then and how he had been your inspiration lately.
-You were prepared for rejection, but you were ecstatic when Melo confessed he felt the same ever since you started seeing each other. He just didn’t have to courage to confess his feelings because you were a princess, and he was someone from a lower class.
-You were happy and explained it didn’t matter if he was a lower classed elf. He stole your heart, and now you wanted to see if you could have his.
-He accepted your proposal with a gleeful smile, and you two officially started courting.
-You were over the moon and couldn’t help but tell your mother that you have succeeded in winning your ellon’s heart.
-Nerdanel was happy for you and told you to bring him over when you felt ready.
-You were excited and started to leave the house more often and come back late, which caught the rest of your family’s attention as they began to get suspicious.
-Your mother and Maedhros already knew about it. Maglor guessed it some time ago and was okay with it. Caranthir already knew as well since he saw how you always went to Melo whenever you had the chance and sometimes stared at the Vanyar with a stupidly in-love face.
-Now, Celegorm and the twins were the ones who only started to notice and started to observe your outgoings more.
-They even went far to spy on you when you went on a date with Melo, watching from the distance as you laughed and shared kisses with the strange ellon they had not seen before.
-Since they were more protective than the rest of your family, they had plans in mind on how to confront you and your new supposed lover. Luckily you were already familiar with their antics after living with them for a long time, so you managed to avoid them and keep Melo safe from their shenanigans.
-They tried to expose you by asking about it during dinner, but you decided to make it a game and play dumb by asking which Vanyar they were talking about since you met a lot of Vanyars during the day. The game went on as they tried to make you speak about Melo. Half of the family was laughing at this point since they already knew.
-You finally decided to give mercy and told them about Melo.
-Celegorm and the twins felt betrayed that you tried to make them feel stupid and almost demanded to know if Melo was worthy of you. You assured them Melo wasn’t a lecher who would try to take advantage of you because you were the one who chased after him, and he was easy to fluster. He was your adorable little book nerd.
-Celegorm still said along with the twins that they would keep a close eye on him, which you did not mind unless they attempted anything funny with your lover.
-Feanor was okay with your courtship since it was your life, and he trusted you knew what you were doing. You appreciated it since it showed he had come a long way from the prideful elf he used to be. However, he did say he’ll do something if Melo ever decided to break your heart, which you kept in mind.
-Curufin didn’t really care, but he promised to keep an eye on Celegorm if he ever caught him planning on doing something out of line.
-You were happy with your family’s approval and even brought Melo to meet them when he felt ready to meet them since you met his mother already, who loved the painting you did for her.
-Melo was nervous, but he got along just fine with your mother and oldest brothers, who were friendly to him and talked about stuff. Celegorm and the twins did try to intimidate him, so you kept a careful watch on them.
-You were happy as Melo got comfortable with your family. You even brought him to meet your favorite cousins, who were delighted to meet him.
-You enjoyed your courtship blissfully. But, no one knew that you were already planning to ask Melo to marry you and what the wedding would look like, but you kept those plans to yourself because who knows how big of a heart attack Celegorm and the twins would have if you suddenly announced an engagement, so for now you kept quiet about it.

Unexpected Consequences
Part 3
Tumblr media
Maitimo x Reader
3.1k Words
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
* * *
A week ago Nerdanel had unexpectedly shown up for tea, to make up for how horrendous everything had gone those few weeks ago when Maitimo had shown up on your doorstep unannounced. But you knew what she really had been there for despite what she said. Nerdanel wanted to get to the bottom of why it was you had rejected Maitimo as fiercely as you had and where it had come from.
You had kept your wrath under such lock and key that she had no idea that was how you felt. Of course Maitimo told her how you reacted, and if he hadn’t Nerdanel would’ve come asking what all had happened anyways. To her you were just as much her child as Maitimo was. She loved and cared for you both deeply.
The two of you had made it through most of tea without any discussion of Maitimo, both getting distracted as you spoke about idle things such as work and hobbies. What the newest creation was that Nerdanel was working on as well as what you had been dabbling in lately. It had helped take your mind off the whole ordeal and it relaxed you to enjoy and indulge in such things with your mother in law.
It was only when the two of you had run out of things to speak about that Nerdanel finally brought up the question you knew she had been dying to ask:
“Why did you reject Maitimo?”
It wasn’t accusatory when she asked, Nerdanel was not a condescending nis. That was not in her nature, always wishing to understand where it was you were coming from. Rather than judge you negatively on your thoughts and feelings or attempt to force you into feeling certain ways about things. If there was anyone who could understand what you were going through, it was certainly your mother in law.
Though you felt defensive, you answered her honestly. That you had been hurt by him, that he didn’t seem to care about his vows that he shared with you. That Maitimo had caused you immeasurable pain and suffering. Not that you needed to explain that last part to Nerdanel, as you had both consoled and comforted each other through the suffering you both experienced.
But you withheld how you hated the Silmarils, that you hated Feanaro, that your husband had cared for those infernal rocks and his mad father more than you. You wanted to say how you hadn’t felt like an equally important figure in his life. For him to force you to stay and leave you alone all this time.
Though you suspected Nerdanel had an inkling as to what you wanted to say. Ever insightful and wise as she was, and after raising seven children with varying degrees of personality, reading others was quite her specialty. You had watched her in silence for a long moment, waiting to see what she’d say or see if Nerdanel would drop the issue entirely.
It was after an uncomfortable and nerve inducing silence that Nerdanel finally answered you, with her thoughts. Starting off with how you didn’t have to forgive Maitimo if you weren’t ready too, agreeing with you that he earned your anger for all the hurt he caused you. But she only felt it fair that you two start making a decision of what to do with your marriage and discuss with one another all that transpired.
Even going as far to explain that if need be, consider a divorce. Like she had done if you felt that it was truly irreparable. Her reasoning was that she wanted the two of you to make the best decisions for yourselves and not be stuck together and miserable.
Thinking back on the word divorce alone was enough to make your heart stutter in your chest. It was a valid idea to offer up for you to consider… Yet so far every time you thought of it, it only served to make the hurt in your chest grow exponentially.
Did you want to get a divorce? To truly be done with all you had previously had because of what had transpired?
You didn’t know… Perhaps had you considered it an option the moment you saw him, you’d have announced you wanted one. Being so angry and bitter over what had happened. But you had too long to think things over as the vitriol wore down. You were still furious with him, but the bitterness had eased, revealing a gaping emotional wound. One that you felt wasn’t fixable, though you suspected Nerdanel felt otherwise.
So now you sat at the table in your kitchen, patiently waiting for your guest to arrive. Having sent word to Maitimo that you would agree to meet with him today, and you had received a lengthy reply in return. But all that mattered to you was the agreement had been given. You weren’t ready to read any of his small talk or his questions. You didn’t want to communicate so thoroughly with him until you knew whether or not it was best to separate from him.
Quietly you fiddled with the napkin on the table, with a teaspoon sitting atop it. Delicate floral teacups sat before you and the place you had set for Maitimo, along with a few comfort food items. Something you were craving hoping it would help ease some of the pain you felt, you took a deep steadying breath as you heard approaching footsteps.
Not bringing yourself to look up at the visitor that entered into your humble kitchen, you only caught a blur of red and black. It was enough for you to know exactly who it was that was taking their place across from you now. For a moment you glanced up, taking a moment to stare into those pale blue eyes that watched you with hope etched in them.
You had always admired his optimism for even the worst of situations, even when his father was spiraling and descending into darkness. Had he always held out some kind of hope until the day Morgoth came knocking on Formenos’ door. Then you had watched it die out entirely, until now.
“It is good to see you Y/N.” Maitimo greeted softly in a warm voice, and you nodded for a moment. Trying not to indulge in just how good it felt to hear him say those words, your mind countering that it wouldn’t have to be so good to hear them if he had let you leave with him in the first place. You thought for a moment trying to decide how you were going to answer him, it was good to see him but you were still angry.
“You look… well. To which I am glad to see.” You answered stiffly, and an awkward silence hung over the two of you after you said this, bringing you to look back down at the napkin right in front of you. Maitimo mulled over what to say, he thought he had prepared for this moment. To explain everything to you, to beg you for forgiveness even if that meant having to get down on his knees and plead. He didn’t want to lose you.
Yet seeing how cold and distant you were, and the few words Nerdanel had confided in him regarding the situation, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. It was clear more tact and diplomacy was needed as opposed to the groveling he was willing to do if it would soothe and win you over. But it wouldn’t and he knew it.
“I have asked for you here… Because I want to discuss all that had happened all those years ago.” You said, finally giving Maitimo an insight to what your thoughts were. He nodded looking at you, seeing the upset on your face, having heard the firmness in your voice as you attempted to make yourself stronger than what he knew you must be feeling. Maitimo nodded his head, feeling it best if he let you speak your piece than trying to dominate and direct the conversation.
“I am still… Angry with you. I resent you, I am bitter.” You began to explain, your voice cracking with emotion as you began to speak. Trying not to exude any of that anger and bitterness you felt in your tone, but you couldn’t help it. You were so hurt and all of those millennia of hurts simmered to the surface finally boiling over after so many years of hiding it all.
“You left me, you gave me no choice and only spoke over me and ignored my pleas and me wanting to be with you. You cared more for the Oath and for those stupid fucking rocks than you did me. Did our vows mean anything to you?” You managed out, biting back the tears you felt swell in your eyes, wishing to spillover and down your face. Maitimo said nothing, sitting there quietly clutching his thigh tightly, it was harsh to hear how you were really feeling.
But he knew he had earned it, but slowly he nodded his head at your question. Realizing now that you were leaving an opening for him to be able to reply to you. To tell you part of what his motivations had been.
“They meant and mean everything to me meldanya-”
“Don’t.. Meldanya me.” You shot out quickly, but there was less bite on your tongue as you folded your arms over your chest. The teapot and cups untouched still, you couldn’t find it in yourself to enjoy the tea you made. The irony was you had made a soothing chamomile tea to assist with your rage.
“They still mean everything to me, in those vows I made to you was a promise to protect you, Y/N… And I did not feel I could adequately protect you.” Maitimo answered you in earnest, looking at you as he spoke to you. His pale blue eyes pleading with you to listen. To understand where it was he was coming from. Yet as you looked back at him… Your expression was indecipherable. He couldn’t tell what was running through your mind, you had gotten well at masking your feelings.
“But that wasn’t your decision to make, Nelyafinwe.” You said, calling him by his Ataresse, seeing that you wanted that emotional distance from him right now. You wanted to call him Maitimo, to speak fondly to him. But you were too hurt still to do so and his so called reasonings to protect you seemed like a weak rehearsed excuse for you.
“You’re right it wasn’t, but I didn’t see any other way to keep you protected.” He answered you, and you frowned deeply.
“Y/N.. With how bleak and chaotic things looked… With the fact that Atya wanted to go after Morgoth himself… All I could see was catastrophe. A world that would be unfair and unsafe for you, for us.” And after his time in Angband all you would’ve been to Morgoth was a high prized tool to use and torture him with. Especially if he could get his blackened hands upon you, but he wasn’t going to say that yet. This wasn’t about him, it was about you.
“So you forced me to stay and bound yourself to something you saw nothing but catastrophe in?” You countered, letting your bitterness show through and Maitimo was quiet. When you put it that way, it did seem ridiculous. He could see why you were upset, it had been rash and foolish and he would happily admit that to you. He was going to admit that to you.
“Yes, because I was rash. I saw my grandfather… After what Morgoth had done, I felt fear for what could happen to you. If he’d crush Finwe in our home for gems… What else would he have done to you if he could get a hold of you?” He stopped himself short of explaining what Morgoth did to him, that wasn’t his initial motivation for leaving you. You hadn’t considered that… You felt guilty suddenly, the festering wound was tempered momentarily. Slathered in the balm of reality, knowing that he was speaking from experience.
“You don’t know that Maitimo… We don’t know if he would’ve done such things to me.” You argued weakly, not quite ready to give as you looked up from the plate and napkin to look back over at him. There was a firmness in his expression, something knowing in his eyes as he began to nod slowly.
“Yes, Y/N. I do know what he would’ve done to you, and after finding out… I do not regret my decision to leave you behind.” There was something about the way he said it that made ice run through your veins, chilling you to your core. Knowing that Maitimo had some intimate encounter with the Dark Vala. How else would he know? You didn’t know all the details of your husbands fate in Beleriand, but you knew that he had failed in fulfilling the Oath.
And it did not seem as he was going to disclose those things to you for the moment. You supposed it could be a conversation for another day. It would be… You wanted to know all the deep dark and intimate details from him. Not the secondhand accounts from other Noldor or Sindar that came in through the Halls or through Sailing.
“That does not change that you chose your father over me, and rocks instead of staying.” You uttered, and Maitimo nodded his head at your words. Closing his eyes as he thought for a moment, you were right. He had, you were correct.
“You are right, I did...” Maitimo said in a soft voice, rubbing his leg before he reached for some tea. Smelling the chamomile and hoping it would help take the edge off of his nerves. Nerves that he was trying to hide, knowing this conversation would make or break what happened in your relationship. Losing you would be devastating…
You were quiet looking at him, finally having confirmation after all these years of wondering if he had… He had just offered it up. Readily for you and without hesitation. You couldn’t help but stare at him in disbelief having expected to fight him on the matter, but all you could do was nod at his words.
“Do you regret it?” You asked, feeling goosebumps rise on your skin. Expecting him to say no, because it would certainly tie in with his refusal to have let you come right? But there was a long moment of silence, only the sound of him taking a sip of his tea and the soft tinking of the cup hitting the saucer as he set it down.
“Yes… Every day since I took the Oath I have regretted choosing Atya over you.” He answered you, voice still soft and you looked up at him tearfully. It was what you hoped for, to know he regretted something in what he did. A tear slipped out, trailing down your cheek in a salty trail, but you brought a hand up to wipe it away.
“It is truly my biggest regret… knowing what I know now Y/N, if I could turn back the wheels of time, I would do everything differently. No matter the wrath incurred from my Atya and my inability to be “loyal” to him. Losing you, leaving you behind wasn’t worth any of it.” Maitimo explained to you, and you were silent as you sat there. Taking in all of his words, it was hard to argue with when there seemed to be genuine remorse in his voice. Not to mention he wasn’t fighting you about taking accountability for all that he did to you.
You moved to dig in your pockets for a handkerchief as the tears came in full force now. You hadn’t expected him to be so full of regret, you were expecting him to have justified all of his actions. Something that was usually apart of your husbands personality, even if he could admit he was wrong. How bad were things that he couldn’t find anything justifying in what he did?
It was your turn to fix yourself some tea, the two of you letting a silence fall over you both. Maitimo helping himself to the finger foods on the table while you fixed your tea, before you took generous gulps from it. Hoping to soothe your nerves, the momentum of your anger having come to a grinding halt. In fact it felt as though it had all dissipated entirely, what was there to be angry about anymore?
As you rested your hand on the table, suddenly you felt Maitimo’s come and cover yours hesitantly for a moment and you quietly looked at his hand there. You took a shaky breath, you knew now you didn’t want a divorce from him. You loved him, you wanted him… But still you were hurt regardless of the answers he gave you. You still needed time, things were better. But he still needed to earn your trust back.
“I can’t… Not yet.” You said softly pulling your hand from his, and when you looked up at him, Maitimo simply nodded. Seemingly not taking offense at it, silence still fell over the pair of you as you sat there, thinking on what to say. There was a flicker of hope in Maitimo’s chest at the words, not yet. So divorce wasn’t on your mind? But he only held his breath, you could still be thinking of it, he’d wait for you to confirm it.
“I need time, Maitimo.” You said softly, “It still hurts, I am still hurt by what you’ve done… Things can’t go back to that normal.” Because it was clear to you that normal didn’t work. If it did work then Maitimo would have never have left you alone in Valinor.
“I don’t want a divorce, I still want to be with you and I still love you Mai..” You grew teary eyed again, holding eye contact with his pale blue ones so he knew you meant it. You didn’t want Maitimo to question the validity of your words, but it only made the flickering of hope in his chest begin to bloom. It was better news than he knew what to do with.
“Then we will take it at your pace, Y/N, I won’t push you.” He assured you and you nodded at his words, relieved that he agreed to your terms. Finally it felt like things were slowly and steady falling into place, even you felt hopeful that things would get better. That not all was as lost and hopeless as they had been before.

Maedhros x reader - Weakness
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! I wrote this a few days ago and I thought it would be nice to share it with you. This is a bit angsty, well not to much in my opinion but it’s sad. Hope you like it and I love y’all 💖
Summary: Since Maedhros returned from Thangorodrim he doesn’t expresses his feelings easily. But there are few times in which he does...
Warnings: I guess none, it’s just sad. Maedhros is making hard decisions and he needs someone to support him.
Tumblr media
“Maedhros” I called softly for my beloved who was looking at the mountains in one of the many balconies the palace of Hithlum had to offer.
Maedhros didn’t turned around to look at me nor he did any move. He kept his view straight to the snowy landscape in front of him. His gaze away from mine trying to avoid me at all costs.
Since Maedhros returned back from Thangorodrim he is not the same, emotionally and physically. I was grateful his cousin Fingon managed to rescue him from that terrifying place.
But my heart couldn’t help but to feel sad when I thought from the loose of his hand and what he had endured. “Well-shaped one” her mother Nerdanel once called him but I knew that at this time he didn’t felt like that.
“My love...” I started as I placed gently my hand in his left arm.
“What troubles your heart? You know you can trust me right?” I continued looking attentively at his face.
I analyzed his expression carefully, trying to perceive what Maedhros was feeling. After he returned it was almost impossible to know what was crossing through his mind, his stern attitude covered everything.
“Do you think I’m weak?” Maedhros simply said turning to look at me, his face was serious but his eyes told a whole other story.
Once I heard you could see elves’ spirit through their eyes and I proved it true this time.
Maedhros gave me a look full of emotion, tears shimmering on his eyes. I could perceive true sadness and despair in him. And mostly of all Maedhros looked afraid, just like a lost child.
“Weak?... Mae... why do you ask me this? You are not weak, what made you think like this?” I asked concerned.
“Nothing, forget it” he murmured and turned his head away from me again, like if nothing had happened.
“No Maedhros, don’t turn away from me this time... tell me what happens” I pleaded tugging a little bit his arm for him to look at me.
“It’s nothing, I’m fine” he replied with no emotion in his voice.
“No you are clearly not fine, did someone made you upset? Did I made you upset?” I insisted to him.
“No!” Maedhros responded in a booming voice, turning his head to look back at me again. I flinched and my eyes widened because of his sudden outburst, but I didn’t backed up.
“No it wasn’t you” he continued in a softer voice.
“Then... why you look so... troubled?” I asked giving him a slight squeeze on his arm.
“I don’t want to trouble you with my problems” Maedhros stated.
“You are not a trouble for me Maedhros, you are my husband. Whatever is bothering you I can help you with it. Now... tell me why are you acting like this?” I questioned and waited some moments patiently until he was ready talk.
“(y/n) since I returned from Thangorodrim I... I... have not been the same as I used to be, and I am afraid I am not capable of being king anymore.” Maedhros explained and remained silent for some seconds.
He sighed deeply before continuing.
“I decided to give away the crown to my uncle Fingolfin, mostly for gratitude and because he is oldest and wiser than me. He will be a better king than I am” he finished looking intensely to my eyes, searching for my reaction.
“Well... if you think that is the best for the Noldor then so be it, whatever your decision is I will support you” I responded sincerely to Maedhros.
“I don’t doubt that... I know you will stay by my side and I’m grateful for it. But I am afraid my brothers don’t...” he fretted, trailing away in the last words.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“My brothers are the only family I have left... here at least, and I care for them. But they didn’t took well my decision of giving away the crown to Fingolfin.” Maedhros said and stayed silent again.
It was rare for him to speak with me about this kind of issues, specially when it came to matters of his family.
“And I am afraid they are right...” Maedhros muttered in a low voice, almost inaudible for me.
I analyzed carefully my words before speaking again. I didn’t wished to upset Maedhros more than he already was.
“Maedhros you have nothing to fear your-“
”But I do (y/n)! I’m afraid!“
Maedhros yelled and broke eye contact with me, taking a sharp breath before he continued speaking.
“I fear being a coward (y/n), not being strong enough to carry a crown on my head even though I was born to do it.“
“I fear failing my people... I feel incapable of taking the crown” he confessed, hesitating on continuing.
“And I fear... loosing once more someone I care for.” Maedhros finished with a single tear running down his scarred cheek.
This decision affected him more than I thought. He never expresses his feelings, not in this way, not since Thangorodrim.
“Maedhros...” I whispered cleaning his tears with my hand, caressing softly his cheek.
”I know this decision is hard..., I understand the responsibility carrying a crown implies. But you did what a true king would have done. You thought about your people before yourself.” I paused a moment to take his hand on mine.
“You Maedhros, considered their well being before your own glory and power. I know you passed through a lot, but your good heart remains the same.” I explained rubbing small circles on his hand with my thumb.
“Don’t listen to the other elves. It doesn’t matters what others think, they will never understand your decisions. But you know you gave away the crown for their own good and that’s what counts my love.” I finished offering him a gentle smile, trying to reassure him that what he did was not wrong.
Maedhros looked at me, a blank expression over his face. The cold wind of Hithlum coming from outside the balcony howled. And the cold breeze enveloped us while Maedhros’ thoughts circled his mind.
A sad feeling filled my chest as Maedhros suffered in silence. How much I wished to go back in time and dance under the stars with him again. To the time when we were free and joyful, and the Silmarils weren’t lost yet.
Suddenly, Maedhros embraced me without saying anything else, not a single word slipped out of his mouth. After some seconds I felt his body tremble and I heard his soft cries.
I quickly hugged Maedhros back, my arms barely wrapped around him. Two crystalline tears slipped down from my own eyes, Maedhros’ emotions started to invade me.
Maedhros sobbed against my hair while the cold winds of Hithlum brought snowflakes with them. The cold wind made me shiver but I didn’t parted away from him.
He needed me, and I wasn’t going to abandon him in this vulnerable condition. Of course I felt distressed about the things that happened in the past to him, but that only made me more determined to help him.
“Don’t leave me (y/n)” he croaked against my hair.
“I will not leave you ... never”
“I need you”
“I love you Maedhros, and I need you as much as you need me”
I knew well... I knew well that Maedhros’ more than anyone has endured and suffered the hardships of the war against Morgoth.
But now..., we were together and that’s the only thing that mattered.
We were going to walk on this dark path together as I promised him back in Valinor.
“Through light or darkness I’m staying by your side, and you my beloved, possess for eternity my unconditional love.”

Feanor x Anoexia!Daughter!Reader
Tumblr media
Feanor x Anoexia!Daughter!Reader
Request by a lovely anon:
Can we have please a one shot with Feanor? Where the reader is his younger daughter and she suffer of anorexia? 😋 Also i love your writing
Masterlist
Warning: Eating disorder, angst, fluff
Words: 1k
An irritated sigh fell from your lips as you saw your reflection in the tall mirror in front of you, seeing the extra fatness around your waist and plump thighs.
“It seems that I have to cut dinner too...” you whisper to yourself.
You have been on this “diet” for six months now, trying to take out the extra fat from your body. During your childhood, you were mocking target. The children of the staff in your Palace would always make fun of you, saying that an elf shouldn’t be fat, let alone a Noldor princess.
You were the younger and the only daughter of Fëanor and Nerdanel. It was fun having seven older brothers but at the same time, it wasn’t since they could be very protective of you. They would glare to the boys around the Palace and they would make sure that no suitor got closer to you...but they didn’t protect you from what was really hurt you.
Since you started your “diet”, you would make sure to be careful for your family did not notice you hide a piece of food in your napkin. Only eating small portions of your meal but it was difficult when you have a father that was in alert mode all the time.
As the months go by, you become irritated with your results. The fatness was still there, your natural curves very accentuated in your dark red gown which made your h/c hair pop up.
“An elf should be elegant and graceful...not an orc in a pretty dress.” you murmured quietly, seeing frustrated tears running down your soft cheeks.
There was a knock on your chamber’s door and your maid inform you that dinner was ready, making you close your eyes and let out a deep breath.
“You don’t need food, Y/n!” you whisper to yourself over and over, making a mantra of your own.
When you enter the dining room, you saw that all your brothers were chatting cheerfully with each other while your father and mother were murmuring to each other ears with a serious face. You took a deep breath and put a fake smile on your face, walking towards your seat beside your father.
“Y/n! I’ve heard that Farril had made your favorite dish!” Amrod said cheerfully, seeing the servants coming out of the kitchen doors with your meal.
“Oh...That’s wonderful...” you said quietly, trying to hide your sadness in your voice but it seems that your father had caught it.
During your meal, Feanor’s eyes were always on you, studying every move you do which made it more difficult to hide your food. You would put pieces of food in your mouth and chew for hours, trying to push the food to the corner of your plate.
“Aren’t you hungry, Y/n?” Your father asked with a single brow lifted.
You gulp down your food and shook your head, cleaning your mouth with your napkin. “I feel a little sick today...May I go to my chambers, Ada?” you asked quietly, trying to not lock eyes with him since he could read you like a book and would know that you were lying.
He nods slowly, frowning at your strange behavior. “Yes...Go rest, my child.” you excuse yourself quickly and go to your room.
When you shut the door of your room, you let out a relieved sigh. Happy to hide in the comfort of your room.
You put your hand on your soft belly as a loud growl sounded in the room, coming from your empty stomach. You ignore your hunger and walk to your large balcony, sitting on the soft sofa. Looking up, you saw the beautiful dark sky. The stars shining like small pearls.
Your h/c locks blow gently as the warm wind pass by you, making you smile in comfort. Suddenly a loud knock sounded in your door. You look back and frown. Who could it be?
“Who is it?” you asked.
“It’s ada! May I come in?” you sigh as you heard his voice.
“Yes...” with your command, he walks inside, seeing you sitting in the balcony.
Fëanor closes the door quietly and walks towards you, sitting in the empty seat beside you. You two stay in silence, looking up to the dark sky. You knew what was coming. You notice his worried look during dinner and you weren’t prepared to talk about your problem yet.
“You know... When I was your age, I would eavesdropping on people. Listening to their foolish comments about me.” he said gently, chuckle at the old memory. “They said that I was too impulsive and hotheaded for my own good, that was my fault for my nana had died... they had a certain truth but I didn’t let their words get to me because that what they wanted.” his voice was calm and soft, his grey eyes focus on you now.
He pushes an h/c lock behind your pointy ear and smiles sweetly. Fëanor was a man of few smiles but when it comes to his little girl, he would let his cold heart melt and give you all his love.
“Whatever people think of me, it’s none of my damn business...and that’s applied on you too, my little jewel.” he leans down and kisses gently your forehead, cleaning with his rough thumb your tears that were running down from your eyes freely. “Don’t let the foolish words of stupid people get to you. You are a Noldor!” you nod slowly, letting out a small sob.
You wrap your arms around your father's torso and pull him into a tight hug, crying quietly into his chest. He rubs his large hand up and down your back, whispering gentle words to you.
He was right! You shouldn’t let the evil words get you...You shouldn’t let your demons win the battle! You have to learn to love yourself.
Taking a deep breath, you look up to your father, seeing his gentle smile. “Thank you, Ada...Thank you so much...” you whisper, cleaning away your tears with the back of your hand.
He nods and wraps his arm around your shoulder, cuddling you into his chest while you two return your gaze to the beautiful dark sky.
You nuzzle into his neck and sigh happily. “I love you, Ada.”
“I love you too, my Little Jewel.”
Hey Guys!! Here’s a new one-shot with Fëanor!! What do you think? I hope you like it and feel free to comment and tell me what you think!

XOXO

Pick Three Fandoms Questions
Tagged by @lord-of-aglarond
Heh, I ike all your choices LOA, I will have to think about how to differentiate.
Pick three fandoms and answer the questions:
Okay, so for fandoms I will choose Tolkienverse, Harry Potter and Marvel Universe (the whole shebang: comics, films & TV)
The first character you loved:
Boromir, oddly enough
Hermione
The Beast/Hank McCoy (I know, another weird one: but he was bookish and witty and a big blue monster)
The character you never expected to love so much:
Gimli
Post-war Draco, entirely a fan-invention
Logan
The character you relate to the most:
Thorin Oakenshild. No seriously. He tried so hard to make the best of a bad hand. Had he not tried, everything would have gone to shit. But he screwed up along the way, and is remembered by some more for that than for the huge good things he set off, which he didn't live to see. Wait, I have to go cry now.
Dumbledore, maybe? Again, some people hate him for the last volume revelations. I think they made sense of so much: why he takes the position he does about Snape and Draco: he, too, made a horrible choice to involve himself with a hateful ideology when young. He sees that you have to keep compassion for people who've done bad things and even ally with them, if you want to prevent the worst from winning.
Luke Cage. He's got such a brilliant, compassionate chill and empathy. He uses his strength on others’ behalf when he needs to, protectively, but with none of that soliatry bullshit Punisher/Batman "I alone" rhetoric. He's a vigilante for his community, not against it.
The character you’d slap:
Denethor (it would be Saruman but @lord-of-aglarond has it covered)
Young Tom Riddle: that's for Hagrid, you POS
I think I'm sort of a sap, I don't want to slap any of the Avengers or the Defenders, even the annoying ones like Danny Rand (come on, he's a privileged rich kid but his collective crush on his more saavy peers is adorable, and he feeds them good food). And the X-Men have enough troubles. And Magneto and Loki are somewhat sympathetic, and many of the other villains have too little character to resent . . . Oh, I know! Scott Summers/Cyclops. In any incarnation.
Three favorite characters (not in order of preference because I can’t pick a favorite kid character):
Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, Elrond, Thranduil, Maedhros, Nerdanel oh wait I can’t stop
Harry Potter, Hermione, Draco, Snape, Dumbledore (preference is a really weird thing for me in HP fandom. It doesn't mean "support" or "excuse," it means I’m interested)
Logan/Wolverine, Steve Rogers/Captain America, Luke Cage
A character you liked at first but don’t anymore:
Turin. Actually I didn't really like him in early readings, but I was neutral. As time goes on, no amount of sexy Beleg/Turin fanart can rescue him since you know, he ruined everybody's life
James Potter. Sirius I end up forgiving for his attempt to keep it together after unbearable suffering, but I have a peculiar dislike for campus hero who loved his own wife and child but was an unrepentant bully to others and not very nice to his own friends (seriously, setting Lupin up to maul a classmate?)
Magneto: cool motive, still murder, as the saying goes. Fighting racism/genocide by advocating same?
A character you did not like at first but now do:
Unpopular opinion: I had to grow to love Sam Gamgee. As a kid myself, I found him too--subservient? All that "Coming, Mr. Frodo, sir!" irked me. It took a lifetime to appreciate his particular sort of devotion and ego-less strength.
Severus Snape: agreeing to be the one that people will blame and hate; doing something good without anyone knowing about it, with the consciousness that it may not work . . .
Tony Stark/Iron Man. As a kid comic book reader, he didn't interest me; none of the billionaire inventor CEO type characters did. But damn if RDJ hasn't made me like him, even when he's punching my beloved Cap.
Three otps:
Gimli/Legolas (although I love Aragorn/Arwen and Faramir/Eowyn, too)
Post-war Harry/Draco
Cap/Bucky
Three nonromantic relationships per fandom:
Aragorn and Gandalf, Merry and King Theoden, Boromir and Faramir (moi aussi)
Harry and Sirius, Harry and Hermione, Neville and self-confidence
Logan and Laura Kinney/X-23, Steve Rogers/Captain America and Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes and Mariah Dillard and Shades (it's a threeway)
That was fun! Did it set your thoughts going! @ tag, you’re it!

Nerdanel's Brother
Tumblr media
Pairing: Nerdanel x Brother Reader
Summary: You were running late today, unlike the past six months. This was weird. You were never late. Nerdanel finds herself fumbling around waiting for you.
(AN: Comforting your soul with this sibling piece. On a tangent I would not forgive Feanor or his sons if they abandoned my sibling as they did to Nerdanel...just saying)
Tumblr media
"Hello, Nesa."
"How are you faring, Nesa?"
"Amme made your favorite, Nesa."
Nerdanel awaits the familiar voice to greet her. At any moment now, her brother will walk in with a basket full of food that is enough to feed six other quendi.
You were running late today, unlike the past six months. This was weird. You were never late. Nerdanel finds herself fumbling around waiting for you.
"Ai, Nesa, forgive me," you barge in, undaunted by the overgrown gardens that line Nerdanel's house, an unwelcoming house that was visited by few. "I got held back by some Eru-forsaken ellon." You roll your eyes as you start unpacking the basket full of food. Even today, Nerdanel's heart lurches at the very sight of you.
You look so much like her Maitimo. Your hair, braided like it had been once for her twins. Too much alike. Maybe it is the absence of mirrors in her new home that looking at your hair, identical to hers, shocks her every single time.
You are young, just like her sons. You were born after Nerdanel had married Feanor and left home to live with her husband. Surprisingly, you are a decade younger than Maitimo. It had been quite a news when Mahtan announced your begetting. A child so late in age was unexpected.
Nerdanel never got to know you as she did for all her other siblings. You were an existence she remained unaware of for the longest time. And then her world came crashing.
Finwe died, and her husband and her sons left. The world plunged into the chaos of change. Exile, kinslaying, the Silmarils, everything became a mess.
And Nerdanel, for once, felt weariness creep up her soul. It was then that she met you, a brother yet a stranger at the same time. You walked into her life when all left.
You called her Nesa with such familiarity that it felt as if you had known her forever.
Nerdanel, even in her despair, could not ignore you. You shine brighter than anyone. Smiles come easy to you, but so does humility. You walk into the room with a hundred different things from a hundred different people. Some days you sit with her as you complete favors asked of you.
The world moved on from Nerdanel's grief. Her father Mahtan worked in his forges, Indis lived with her son Arafinwe, the Teleri rebuilt their city. Nerdanel remained waiting, but she was never alone. She was always accompanied by her youngest brother who waited beside her.
Somedays she finds herself telling you all about your nephews and your brother-in-law. On other days, she remains quiet and untouched by any such memories.
You sit there and listen. On her quiet days, you fill the room with your chatter. She wonders how well you would have gotten along with Maitimo and Makalaure. Maybe you would have befriended a wild Tyelko. Her sons would have loved you.
Feanaro would have treated you like a son. She was sure of it because she felt a similar maternal love surge in her as she did for her sons.
Tumblr media
"Nesa," you saunter in with a bag full of yarn. By now, Nerdanel is familiar with your spontaneous lifestyle, but she can't help but question the bag almost bursting at its seams with so much yarn stuffed into it.
Noticing her questing look, you rest your bag as you crack your back."Ailma has just received a new batch of yarn and needed help transporting it to Valmar, so I thought, why not assist her," you said. Nodding in agreement, Nerdanel handed you a glass of water. You quickly gulped it down and thanked her.
"Why don't you join me, nesa?" You asked, stopping Nerdanel in her tracks. She hadn't left her home in years, and now you were inviting her to join you.
Your expectant gaze found her as she tried to evade it at all costs. Too soon. No one wanted her there anyway. She should no-"I have heard that you studied sculpting there. I would love to see your work, and some of my friends would love to meet you."
"Trust me, nesa," you said, standing up and clutching Nerdanel's shaking shoulders. "You have done nothing wrong to punish yourself in this manner." Your words did little good at first. Nerdanel felt the urge to tell you how wrong you were.
However, you did not falter and spoke with utmost sincerity, "Nesa, you did not do anything wrong. It's not your fault." you continued speaking as you rocked a sobbing Nerdanel.
It was her first time breaking down in front of another, the first time laying her grief open. It was unlike your idle chatter or Nerdanel's willful reminiscing.
That evening, you convinced her to accompany you to Valmar. The trip was spent racing mares, playful bickering, but also reassuring nods and hesitant smiles.
It was not quite healing, but perhaps it was a step towards accepting it. Whatever it was, Nerdanel held it close to her heart.

Imagine getting adopted by Nerdanel...
Tumblr media
(I thought it was time to give Nerdanel some attention, and apparently i like making parenting headcanons.)
Warnings; Angst, Nerdanel is sad at first.
I hope you enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-It's been ages, and Nerdanel had it tough.
-Ever since her idiotic husband and sons left, she thought she could handle the sadness that came, but she was wrong.
-She almost cried every night.
-She slowly got over the grief, but she then had problems falling asleep.
-Horrible nightmares would keep her up at night.
-Another thing that struck her was the immense silence of her home.
-She never thought without noises coming from her husband's forge or the daily shenanigans of her boys would make the silence so suffocating.
-She would sometimes spend hours at the window to listen to some birds so it wouldn't be so quiet.
-She wouldn't even mind waking up to Makalaure's nightly serenades
-She started sculpting to occupy her mind.
-She made Feanor first, then all seven of her precious boys.
-She was almost startled by how well she made them just by using her memory.
-But it didn't help her yearning to see them again.
-Sometimes, when she passes one of the statues, she would call out their name before remembering they were just stone.
-It became clear that loneliness was catching up to her.
-Anaire started visiting soon after, trying to bring Nerdanel out of the house and spend some time together.
-Nerdanel was a bit snappy at first, but she soon looked forward to them.
-It was better than staying in her empty house, and Anaire most likely felt lonely too when Fingolfin departed from Valinor with their children.
-She started to feel a bit better. She spent more time outside the house and even joined some of the events held by Finarfin, who made sure she was comfortable, and no elf felt resentment toward her because of Feanor.
-She was grateful, but it didn't fix the fact that she was lonely.
-Until one day when Anaire brought up a peculiar subject.
-They talked about things they could do to spend time. Anaire then says something about an orphanage that seeks foster homes for parentless children.
-Nerdanel started thinking about it.
-The first kin slaying caused a lot of damage, so it was not unknown to her how many children were orphaned by the event.
-The thought of adopting piqued her interest, and it might put an end to the loneliness she felt every day.
-She pushed it back because even if she did adopt, her husband's actions might ruin the child's reputation, and she didn't want that.
-The thought didn't leave her for weeks.
-One day, she decided to check around her house.
-She has everything to take care of a child, and she doesn't need servants because she can do it herself.
-So she went fuck it.
-She did want a daughter once.
-So Nerdanel visited the orphanage with Anaire, who was shocked but soon was excited that she tagged along.
-The attendant who looked after the orphanage was shocked to see her but quickly brought her to see the children.
-There were a lot of little elflings, running and playing around as children should.
-It warmed her heart for a moment because they reminded her of her boys.
-She observed and listened to the attendant's options, but then her attention got caught by a child, who looked excluded from other children.
-A little girl, drawing on dirt with a stick.
-This little girl was you.
-Something clicked in Nerdanel as she observed you.
-You looked lonely, and there was hidden sadness in your eyes.
-The attendant explained your story to Nerdanel, and she felt what you felt.
-Your mother left you here when you were just an infant. Your parents were part of the host that departed with Feanor, but your mother snuck you out, so you could stay in Valinor.
-But since you were from Noldor heritage. You sometimes were bullied by other children, especially the Telerin. And there weren't many families who wanted you.
-Nerdanel decided to approach you.
-You were startled and unsure when this strange red-headed lady came over, but she somehow made you comfortable when she started talking with you.
-You two started conversing, and she knew how to make you laugh.
-You don't remember the last time; when someone was this nice to you.
-Nerdanel felt happy after such a long time. She looked at you and made her decision.
-She was taking you home.
-So she told the attendant, made the preparations, and took you to your new home.
-You were shocked because this happened so fast, and quickly acquittance with Anaire, who was excited to see you and very welcoming.
-When Nerdanel brought you home, she allowed you to choose any of her son's old rooms.
- She assured you it was okay since it was not like one of her sons were gonna come back and complain about it.
-So you chose randomly and settled in.
-Nerdanel's home was quite big, so she allowed you to explore a bit so you could get familiar with your surroundings.
-Nerdanel wasn't the best cook, but she didn't want to depend on servants, so she did what she learned from the recipe books.
-You never complained and actually enjoyed the food. It was a bit better than the daily usual in the orphanage.
-Some of them were a little bad, but you still forced a smile on your face and complimented her food.
-Nerdanel could tell you didn't like it, but you looked so sweet trying to hold it in and pretend you liked it. Even though; your eyes were quivering to spit it out.
-That inspired her to improve herself.
-Anaire came to visit more often, intending to help Nerdanel out on raising you.
-She was like that one fun aunt who came to visit.
-You three sometimes played games, took walks in the woods, and some quality time together.
-You were still a bit shy to open up, but it was okay. Nerdanel was patient.
-She did raise seven sons, after all.
-You sometimes asked about Feanor and her sons, and Nerdanel told all good things about them.
-However, she refused to tell what happened to them or why they weren't home.
-They were gone, and you were too young to understand the violence that happened back then. You didn't need to know about it. Yet.
-You sometimes offered to help when she was doing some sculpting.
-She thought it was sweet and allowed you to do small things for her like giving her a tool or getting some water.
-However, Nerdanel started to notice a strange pattern when this continued.
-You didn't bother her whenever you might need something, and you were a bit eager to help out with everything.
-She didn't think much of it at first, but now she was kinda worried that she was doing something wrong.
-So one night, she decided to tuck you in for the night. She started asking questions to figure out the problem.
-Thanks to her experience having seven sons, she knows what to say to make you open up.
-You started crying, thinking you disappointed her like every other family who once took you.
-You told her that you didn't want to disappoint her and possibly bring you back to the orphanage, so you tried to be on your best behavior.
-Never bother her at inconvenient times and help out whenever she might need help.
-It broke Nerdanel's heart to hear such things from you.
-You got deprived of love a family should provide you, and that deprivation made you think you should please the family to earn that love.
-She hugged you and told you she wasn't disappointed with you, and she was not bringing you back to that orphanage.
-You cried and hugged her back.
-You shyly asked her to spend the night with you, and she happily complied.
-Nerdanel felt like she finally cracked the wall that surrounded you, and it almost sent her to tears.
-When was the last time she hugged her boys like this.
-So the night passed, and Anaire definitely didn't stroll in to see an adorable sight of Nerdanel cuddling with you.
-And Nerdanel definitely didn't throw a pillow at her.
-All these years, and she still wasn't a morning person.
-From that day forth, you were more open with Nerdanel.
-You started helping in the kitchen, so you both could learn how to cook.
-Nerdanel would sometimes throw flour at you, which led to a food fight and a huge mess, but it was okay because hearing your laugh was worth it.
-You became a huggly child and started giving her hugs whenever she felt down or just because you loved her.
-You also became a bit of a jokester, making jokes and pranks to make her laugh.
-No matter how bad they were, she would burst into a laugh because she loves the effort you put into them.
-When you showed interest in painting and art, Nerdanel paid a fine tutor to teach you and sometimes watch from the sidelines with a happy smile.
-She remembered when her boys became passionate about something, and she was just happy you found yours.
-When you became more passionate about painting, you would sometimes go outside to find inspiration and bring your works for her to see.
-She spared every one of your works in a scrapbook she made.
-She also had a scrapbook with her son's old drawings, so she now had two memorable things in her safe keep.
-You once wanted to paint her, and you would sometimes yell out to stay put if she moved too much.
-It amuses her, and now she knew how her models felt when making a sculpture out of them.
-You made progress with your painting talent, and her portrait turned out pretty good that she framed it in her room.
-You two sometimes looked at the stars from the balcony, and Nerdanel would teach you about them what she knew. It was one of those moments she treasured as you two became closer.
-Nerdanel brought you once to meet her father. Mahtan didn't mind if you were adopted. He was happy to have another grandchild and that you helped Nerdanel out of her broken self.
-Nerdanel enjoyed watching you and her father interacting. It was a mix of adorableness and crack-headedness since you two got along like two fish in the pond.
-So you two started visiting Mahtan more often, and you always have fun with him.
-One day, you called her a mom for the first time, and she couldn't be happier.
-She almost cried when she hugged you.
-Consider yourself fully adopted because you were her child now.
-There might be a day when Feanor and her boys will return, but until then, she was going to focus on you.
-Maybe all it took was another lonely soul to fix her lonely heart.

Feanorians reaction to their adopted sibling....
Tumblr media
(Here it is! Feanorians reaction to their adopted sibling. Since this got asked few times, i made this for you. Please emjoy!)
Warnings; none, just chaotic domestic life.
Oh, if you haven’t read the original headcanon imagine getting adopter Nerdanel, click this...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When your mom decided to adopt a new sister in the family while you and your brothers were causing war crimes and kinslaying over some shiny jewels.
The sons of Feanor were awkwardly standing, looking at you with silence. You were also awkwardly staring at them, not knowing what to say.
When your mom said her sons came back, you prepared to meet your seven older brothers and welcome them.
However, this was awkward.
They were at least centuries older than you and intimidating. You're like a tiny runt, compared to them.
"Uhm..." Celegorm started, trying to figure out a way to break the silence.
"You wanna beer?" He asked, holding a bottle.
"She's 1100! (Or whatever is the elven equivalent of 11 years old)," Maglor said.
"I don't know! what am I supposed to do with that!" Celegorm defended himself.
Boys started arguing while you stood there awkwardly.
Nerdanel and Feanor were watching this from the table.
"You know, I would have appreciated if you told me you were going to do something like this," Feanor looked at his wife. "Why? Weren't the silmarils more important?" She asked while taking a sip from her teacup. Feanor stood quiet, not sure how to answer that. "You refused to spare me one son from your ridiculous oath, so what I was gonna do when you all left me all alone in our empty house was none of your business," She said. "And I can do what the fuck I want, so deal with it," She added. Feanor sighed. This might have been inevitable.
"And besides. I was fine having three sons then you failed to give me a daughter four times in a row. And last time, you gave me twins," Nerdanel stated. "So now we have a daughter, so you better get used to it because it doesn't matter if you like it or not," She added. Feanor exhaled. If the situation was different, he might have objected, but Nerdanel now had the power to send him back to Mandos, so there was no arguing with her. He might as well get used to having an eighth child now.
How your lives changed after that awkward meeting.
-The boys were shocked when Nerdanel brought you along to meet them and thought their mother moved on and had a child with another, but Nerdanel quickly dismissed that. She didn't have the energy to go through something like that again.
-Adoption was easier.
-You were intimidated and nervous to meet them. You have heard about the kinslaying and the crimes that happened. People talked about them a lot, so it wasn't a secret.
-You're also used to the life when it's just you and mom, so you were also nervous about how your lives were gonna change with them coming back.
-The first meeting was awkward, and no one knew what to say. Luckily, it changed when you all went home.
-One of the boys had to switch rooms since you took it for yourself. Others were fine with it if you took one of their room. Celegorm and Curufin are the only ones to sulk about it if you stole one of their rooms.
-You and Nerdanel were used to doing things by yourselves, so Feanor and the boys needed to adapt to your lifestyle. Without servants.
-It was domestic chaos at first. Maedhros, Maglor, and Caranthir were the only ones who knew how to do chores. The twins were hopeless at first. Celegorm only knew how to make a mess, and Curufin had too much pride to touch anything dirty.
-Nerdanel, however, had the command over the house, so one strick yell is enough to make Curufin do his chores.
-Amrod and Amras were the first ones you got along with very well.
-Since they were no longer the youngest of the family, they decided to take their new roles as older brothers seriously and treated you well.
-They even help you with chores most of the time.
-Even though; they were hopeless when it came to basic chores. They're used to living in the wild, hunting things. So you have to teach them a little.
-You might have become their new partner in crime when it came to pranks.
-Maglor and Caranthir were next you got along with very well.
-Maglor was welcoming and made some effort to treat you like family.
-You absolutely love his music, and he sometimes sings to you when you have a hard time falling asleep.
-Caranthir was a bit unsure at first but treated you well and made some effort to get to know you.
-You were fascinated by his knitting skills, so you two bonded over as he taught you how to knit, and you two would talk about a lot of things.
-That then led you two to give your works as a gift to Nerdanel, who was happy that you two got along.
-You two shared some things in common and loved mom, so you two got along like bread and butter.
-Celegorm and Curufin were more difficult to get along with.
-Celegorm was a bit more on the wild side and loud, while you liked peace and silence.
-Curufin was a bit mean and had too much pride, so you ended up mostly avoiding him.
-Celegorm does try to have a good relationship with you, but his teasing can be too much sometimes.
-You did like Huan, so that was a good thing.
-Huan was very welcoming and kept Celegorm out of your boundaries.
-You might have considered stealing Huan for yourself, but he was a good boy and remained loyal to Celegorm despite the incident with Luthien.
-Celegorm got his head out of the clouds, and couldn't stay mad at his canine friend, so the two made up, and it was all good in the end.
-Maedhros was a bit tricky at first. It wasn't that he didn't like you. He still felt guilt for every bad thing he committed in the past.
-You were pure and innocent, so he tended to avoid you. He did treat you well and offered his help if you needed any.
-So you had to make some effort to get close to him.
-Since Nerdanel taught you to be more empathic with others, you wanted to help Maedhros with his guilt and trauma.
-So you spend some time with him in the late afternoons with blankets and warm drinks you made for him. Nerdanel once used this method to comfort you, and it usually worked, so you decided to do the same.
-You ask him things about middle earth, and he would tell you stories you would find fascinating.
-It made him feel a little better, and slowly he began warming up to you.
-He appreciated your effort to help and started avoiding you less.
-You could always count on him if your other brothers were troublesome or too much for you.
-One thing boys had to learn was that Nerdanel was on your side if it came to arguments or quarrels.
-They have to think twice before crossing you because all it takes is you aggressively painting a mess on the face of their statue and mom comes right yelling. They don't have her favor like all those years ago when they were younger.
-And as an extra. The individual has to wash their statue from the paint.
-Nerdanel was more strict with them, so you could literally get away with anything.
-Not that you would do anything to upset her. You love her too much to do anything terrible. You fear her disappointment more than anything.
-Feanor was another who mostly avoided you.
-He didn't dislike you. He just didn't know how to interact with you.
-He was glad that Nerdanel was happy with you, so he doesn't want to ruin that for her.
-The oath caused him to have a strained relationship with Nerdanel, and even his sons were sour with him.
-Things would have been better if he didn't go crazy about the silmarils, and he realized that too late.
-So he doesn't want to have another soul to despise him for what happened.
-However, you wanted to try to help fix things up a little because watching your mom and Feanor interact was sometimes painful to watch, especially when your mom was super snappy with him.
-The atmosphere was also like they got forced to live under the same roof.
-So, with the help of your brothers. You all worked together to ease the tension between them and help love each other again.
-It was a lot of work, but the tension lowered a lot, and Feanor's risk of ruining his marriage became low.
-The two still had some quarrels, and Nerdanel was still the boss. Feanor then made some effort to be welcoming and treat you like family since you technically saved his marriage.
-He then considered you were not too bad and very talented in painting.
-When people heard about you, they were worried since Feanor had eight children now.
-Luckily, most of the people know you're Nerdanel's adopted daughter, so they were pretty chill about it. They were more interested in how your family drama will turn out.
-So you don't get discriminated. No one really dares to because that one time when someone insulted you, Nerdanel came to your defense and threw an epic fit.
-No one insults you under her watch.
-So people were more afraid of your mother than your father and seven brothers. No one knows what she would do if something terrible happened to you, and no one is eager to find out.
-So you were safe from rumors and discrimination.
-You met Feanor's half side of the family before, and they're all good to you.
-Anaire was still your favorite aunt, and you respected Fingolfin, who was kind and thanked you and Nerdanel for caring for his wife.
-Your favorite cousins are Fingon, Argon, Aredhel, and Finrod because they sometimes kept you company before your brothers came around.
-So no one in your big family minds if you were adopted. They pretty much got used to it having you around.
-And they rather not go against Nerdanel since her temper grew spicy since first age.
-People do find you confusing. You don't seem to share the same temper as your family, but unknown to them. They were wrong.
-You are calm, most of the time, but after your brothers came to live with you and mom. You were pretty easily pissed off when annoyed enough.
-You get annoyed if you get pranked too much.
-No one is allowed in your painting room and touch your stuff.
-You get snappy if someone laid their dirty hands on your paintings.
-And that one time, Celegorm pissed you off big time because he kept teasing and didn't leave you alone, so you grabbed one of the paintings and smashed it right into his face.
-His head went through the canvas, and then the whole family burst into laughter.
-The painting was a portrait of a woman, and his head went through the spot her head should be, making it look like he had boobs and a body of a woman.
-You were more annoyed, though. You realized too late that was a commission from someone. You had to start the thing all over again.
-You know how to control your temper most of the time, but if someone was to witness your anger fit. You could easily be mistaken to be actually related to the feanorians.

Finarfin’s and Fingolfin’s reaction to Nerdanel’s adopted kid.
Tumblr media
(More stuff about being Nerdanel’s kid. Hope you like it.)
Requested by anonymous
Warning;None
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finarfin
-Finarfin would have been shocked to hear that Nerdanel had adopted a child. He would have heard it from Earwen, who heard it from Anaire, and because the two sometimes visit Nerdanel to help raise the child.
-Earwen spoke all good things and how adorable you were. She was happy that Nerdanel was doing okay and had a daughter she always wanted.
-You were shy when you met Earwen for the first time, but you two got along quickly. You had an aunt gang caring for you, except Nerdanel since she was your mother.
-When you first met Finarfin, he was kind and gentle toward you.
-He didn't ridicule Nerdanel's choice in adopting you and was happy for her since she was healing.
-You were a good kid, and spending time with you made him miss his children more. He missed his sons and daughter and would think about them often.
-You didn't have a lot of occasions to talk with him since he was busy being the high king, so usually you would see each other at events or some parties. He would make sure you and Nerdanel would be safe from those who bore a grudge toward Feanor and made sure you had fun.
-He gives good advice and is a supportive uncle, so whenever you need something. You can as for his help.
-He's a helpful and kind uncle.
Fingolfin
-When he was allowed to return from the dead, he was surprised that Nerdanel had adopted a child, but knowing her, it wasn't too big of a surprise.
-Nerdanel almost had the same temperament as Feanor and what Feanor did to her during the darkening wasn't exactly fair, so she had the right to do anything she wanted during the ages.
-He didn't expect her to adopt, so that was a surprise.
-Anaire would tell him everything. How you got adopted and how she and Nerdanel have raised you together.
-He would be glad and interested in meeting you. He would thank you and Nerdanel for looking after Anaire. He feared Anaire would have changed drastically after leaving her, but the spark of love was still there.
-He would be a pretty fun uncle to have around.
-He would tell you stories about Middle earth and some memories of Feanor and his sons.
-He would leave out all the bad things that happened. You were still young and didn't need to know about them yet.
-When his children returned, and you got along with them. He was glad.
-He was worried about Feanor's reaction to you when the valars finally released him from Mandos.
-You would get along with his sons, but Fingolfin feared Feanor would react badly to you. That's what worries him.
-Luckily, you got along with your new father quite well. It was a good relief for Fingolfin.
-Fingolfin would constantly make jokes about Feanor's situation and you. Finarfin would also join in the fun. It was harmless, and peace got finally restored to the world.
-You were a good kid, and Feanor had to accept you, or his wife would send him back to Mandos.
-The situation would be hilarious to Fingolfin.
-You saved Feanor's marriage with Nerdanel, so that was one of the primary reasons Feanor accepted you, but Fingolfin saw how Feanor grew soft for you over the time.
-Fingolfin would tease Feanor for it and still receive snappy comments from Feanor. He didn't mind since it was normal.
-So all was well.

I will always love you
Tumblr media
young!Feanor x Vanyar!Reader
2.3k words
warnings: angst, breaking some canon, hurt, no comfort, frustrated Fëanor, definitely not gentle
* * *
Fëanor walked through the halls, today he was in no rush to see you as his day had gone far from planned. Now even the joy of seeing you had been cruelly robbed from him with the news his Atar had bestowed upon him.
He was to marry the Lady Nerdanel, a marriage of convenience so to speak and not one out of love. While perhaps at one point Fëanor would have agreed with such a proposal, that had all changed in the past few weeks. Your arrival from Taniquetil had been a blessing it seemed to Fëanor; that finally he had fallen in love and found his one.
You were positively perfect and so incredibly different from everything that Fëanor was. Fëanor did have a scholarly love for language and a passion for crafting, considerably more brash and masculine. Yet you were not, you were more gentle and refined. You seemed to undoubtedly share some curiosity in his interests and passions and you spent many hours asking him about his craft and thoughts on linguistics.
While Fëanor loved your curiosity, he loved it more getting the opportunity to share moments  where you shared in your passions and interests. He loved the way that you looked when you sat comfortably in a chair or settee with a book in hand, your tastes ranging in herbology to linguistics to architecture and more.
Your curiosity never ending and seemingly always growing, though that was to be expected being the grown child of a scholar. So far his favorite is when you shared with him your passion for the stars, he loved watching the way that you lit up as you spoke about Varda’s creations. Even more so did he love that you’d bring him out to the gardens at odd hours in the night. You had been only dressed in your robe and night clothes, bringing him to stargaze with you.
Though the only sight that Fëanor couldn’t get enough of was you, and Eru how you shared your first kiss together in that moment. How soft and delicate your face felt beneath his fingers as he caressed before brushing your hair away. The soft sound of your breath hitching as he drew his lips in to meet with yours… how sweet and warm they were despite how cool it had been outside.
You had looked positively ravishing and it was such a precious memory, one that Fëanor couldn’t stop replaying in his mind over and over. Now he had to confess to you about his new engagement to Nerdanel to you, and rip away the hope that had been so cruelly stolen from him too. Who was he to deny his Atar? All he wanted was to make him happy… Even at the cost of his own.
Quietly he paused out in the hallway, peeking into the sitting room whose door was wide open. There you paced, a soft pink tinging your cheeks and you bit your bottom lip surely thinking about the kiss like he had been. It was all that had been on his mind and he knew it was on yours, you had just as eagerly urged him to continue in sharing such intimate affection.
With a deep exhale Fëanor finally entered the room, drawing you from your thoughts. A wide grin spread across your beautiful face at the sight of him and he could hear the way your heart began to pound in your chest with excitement. Yet his heart began to pound with dread, though he shoved the feelings to the side.
“Fëanor it is good to see you!” You greeted in your soft voice, it truly was music to his ears but he said nothing, shutting the door and when he was done Fëanor approached. Quickly you stood on your toes, hands reaching for his shoulders resting against the soft velvet tunic and yet Fëanor didn’t deny what you were seeking. In an instant he leaned down to kiss you, lips passionately melding with yours far more than you had been prepared for.
Yet you welcomed the affections, feeling his arm wrap around your waist drawing your body further into him dipping you back as he did so. His tongue moving to slip into your mouth, drawing a hum from your delicate throat. Kissing you like his life absolutely depended on it, leaving you to grip onto him tightly.
Never did you want this moment to end, bringing a hand to gently caress his face. Feeling him shudder beneath your touch, only fueling him to kiss you with more hunger until he began to reign himself in. Slowing the kiss to be more soft and tender, until finally he pulled away from you, bright blue eyes looking down at you with resolve.
Carefully he began to stand you up taking your hand in his with the other still lingering low on your waist.
“Y/N there is something I must discuss with you.” Fëanor finally spoke, his tone even and there wasn’t a hint of excitement or curiosity that was lacing his voice. Leaving concern to begin bubbling inside of you, in your short time knowing Fëanor this was unusual.
“Is everything alright Fëanaro?” You began as he gently pulled you along to the sofa just behind the two of you. With care he helped you sit in a gentlemanly fashion before taking his place next to you, the closeness still there between you and his hand still holding yours.
“No, Y/N. It is not.” He began bringing you to frown with concern, only scooting closer to him placing your other hand on his knee. Yet this time Fëanor began to put some distance between you both, your heart constricted at the gesture utterly confused but you didn’t press it. Deciding to respect Fëanor’s space instead.
“What is the matter?” You pressed, Fëanor sighed out heavily looking you in the eyes as he sat up and back against the couch. His hand released yours as he brought it to rest in his lap, the other rubbing his lips for only a moment before he parted them to speak.
“Y/N, I am engaged.” Fëanor said, voice still even and your heart dropped. For a long moment you sat in silence, your heart pounding hard in your ears and dread began to fill your stomach. So many questions beginning to swirl in your mind, sense not wanting to assert itself in any manner.
“The news broke today.” Fëanor explained to you coolly, putting the immediate fear to rest in your mind that he had been using you outside of his wife to be! How shameful it would be if everyone discovered that were the case, so his answer brought some relief.
“If you are engaged... then why did you kiss me?” You whispered bringing a hand up to your lips in shock, Fëanor only moving from the couch and to the crystal decanter set that sat upon an end table. He only sighed as he began to fill his glass and then fixing you one. Making sure to be generous with your cup, he turned to face you and noticed how you paled the way you did.
Seeing the tears that stung your eyes, that you were working hard to blink back. Anger began to boil in his blood, distressed that you were affected as badly as you were. Only further confirming that you felt as deeply as he did about one another. Fëanor sighed heavily coming to hand you one of the crystal goblets, gently you took it from him, holding it in your lap for the time being.
“I was being selfish.” Fëanor answered you simply watching the way you looked down and into the goblet before you, the deep red liquid sloshing some as your hands began to shake. Yet that didn’t feel like a good enough answer to you. Granted you didn’t know decades worth about him, you knew there was more to it than that. Yet you decided not to press it.
“Do you… love her?” You whispered, fingers caressing and tracing over the rim of the goblet before you finally drew it to your lips to drink. The liquid was sweet with a bitter back taste, but you withheld the grimace. Fëanor was all the while quiet, debating on how it was he was going to answer you. Debating if it were more painful to explain to you that this was purely out of convenience or if he should lie… Either response would only end with you being hurt.
“No.” He couldn’t withhold the truth from you, all you had been was genuine and honest with him and Fëanor loved you. You deserved the same honesty in return... Yet the look of hope that crossed your features told Fëanor that you weren’t going to accept this and once more frustration and anger began to build. To do this proper he was going to have to push you away, even if it meant doing it in the worst way possible.
“Fëanor if you do not love her… Then why are you agreeing to marry her?” You asked him beginning to set the goblet down on the table before you. Fëanor was sitting down in a chair across from you, a scowl visible and evident on his features as his composure was beginning to slip. Yet he wouldn’t look at you.
“It is my Atar’s wishes that I do so, and I shall do as was instructed of me.” Fëanor answered you with a heavy huff, drinking generously from his goblet as he leaned back against the chair.
“Is what we have not worth building upon? Could you not just let-”
“NO! I cannot just set my duties aside! But how could I expect the child of a scholar to begin to understand the burdens of a Prince! I do not have the luxury of indulging in frivolous feelings much further if the High King wills that to be the case!” Fëanor seethed out angrily, all but yelling at you to get his point across. You couldn’t help but flinch at his booming voice and temper that had escaped him.
“Is… that what you think my feelings are? Frivolous?” You whispered out in a shaky breath, Fëanor all but growled out rubbing his face with a hand as he grimaced at your words. A small sneer curling at his lips, Eru he despised everything about this moment. The way you had flinched, the hurt in your voice, it disgusted him to know that he was causing it.
You should have just accepted that he was engaged and agreed to call off whatever could have been. Yet here you were dragging things out further, and it was infuriating. Fëanor just wanted you to take this at face value, he had not anticipated for your will to be so strong.
“I love you…” You breathed out, hardly noticing the tears that spilled down your face. Again Fëanor was silent, the glower on his face only growing further and he heaved another heavy sigh at your words. Eru did he want to tell you how much he loved you too and had from the moment he laid eyes on you.
After all it was why he initiated his visits to begin with. But offering you hope where there was none was cruel, especially when he’d not deny his Atar’s instructions.
“Yes, they are frivolous. Your emotions and incessant need to try and fight this, is frivolous. You will not change my mind! I was simply being foolish, merely wanting a taste of what was to come you mean nothing more.” He lied, yet you couldn’t tell the difference. It was all so incredibly convincing and it broke your heart to hear such cruel and hateful things. You couldn’t stop the onslaught of tears that came with his words.
Your heart and soul were crushed just as quickly as they had been swelling and thriving with the love Fëanor had offered to you just days before. Just even a moment ago when he walked through the door!
Fëanor only looked away, not having the heart to watch you, your sobs only making his anger worsen and his own hands began to shake as he took another generous swallow from his glass. Setting it down on the end table to his left, just as he was about to stand it was you that did so first.
Sniffling as a hand came to rest against your chest as you tried to compose yourself, but it was utterly fruitless as you hiccuped and sucked in air haphazardly. The sound was gut wrenching and he had an inkling to just how bad you were hurting...
“If that is what you wish... And how you truly feel about me Fëanor then I won’t continue to press for something that’s not there... But know.. That I love you and I will always love you. No matter how frivolous it is to you, it is not to me.” You quietly pulled a handkerchief from your pockets, gently dabbing your eyes keeping your gaze to the floor.
With that you turned and began to leave the room, leaving Fëanor to respectively wallow in his own guilt. The expression on your face not leaving his mind, as he cut into you with every cruel and harsh word spoken. He only hoped that there was no truth to your words about always loving him... That you could find someone more deserving than him of your love.
As the door shut, not a moment later did Fëanor send his crystal goblet sailing through the air and into the wall. Letting it shatter in tiny little shards that glittered in the sun, the wine dripping from the wall to the floor. Fëanor only prayed to Eru that he had made the right decision and you were allotted someone far more worthy.
