Halves company

Danny had a big problem: since a couple of days ago he had discovered that he didn't look good in pictures. He wasn't a vampire so he was actually in them but his eyes always looked bright green, and the photos left an eerie feeling.

His friends didn't mind, and his family much less (they had gotten along much better after revealing the whole secret), the problem was that he was due to take a trip to Gotham soon and he just knew he would have some pictures taken.

A couple of years ago Danny had accepted Vlad's request to "start over" and together they had formed a research company that specialized in several fields, among them: the technological field, advanced engineering, space engineering, and different ecto-related projects, although the latter was not revealed to the public.

Few months later "Wayne Enterprises" seemed very interested in their inventions for everyday life so they wanted to negotiate some deal and dig into their technology. Danny was fine with that, he had created those things to make people's lives easier.

The problem came when Bruce Wayne invited them to a gala, he told them that the "founders" of the company were very elusive about their identity (neither Vlad nor Danny liked cameras much in those days) and joked that it was a shell company for some illegal activities and it was better to check, Danny was not amused about it.

He accepted Bruce's invitation knowing full well that Vlad couldn't meet the challenge (or be polite about it), but once he got to the gala he saw all the reporters and knew he was screwed.

Would it be better to be unsettling or not appear in the photos at all?, he supposed it would be best to avoid all the cameras and say hello to Bruce or Lucius, talk a bit and then leave.

It was supposed to be easy: walk in, say hello, walk out; Of course, his plans had never been perfect, so before he knew it he was seeing the Wayne "kids", and a reporter from the Daily Planet looking extremely nervous.

nico robin and her smile

hiiii ok has anyone else ever thought about the person robin was before joining the straw hats? like who she was when she was at her worst? because i do. a lot. so go along with me here

from her introduction, robin has this very small smile that feels cunning and is seemingly meant to taunt luffy and co. it creates a sense that there's a canyon's depth of difference in power between her and the others.

robin's is a subtle character in her expressions compared to most other major characters in the series. and i think it fits her background of having to work in subterfuge. (???)

she maintains this expression throughout multiple scenes. the same shape of her smile that is so exact that it has to be with intention. this is the face of ms. all sunday. this is the person robin had to be in order to survive.

and yet each one still has it's differences and that's robin being not so perfect at hiding her true feelings (which btw i love that robin will always be exactly who she is). she's stressed or even strained at times. while also feeling perfectly at ease, but still performing a role.

i think for the most part. robin didn't mind what she had to do or who she had to be. because she's pragmatic, but she was definitely bothered by vivi and the strawhats. they're the ones who cause robin to show anything other than that static smile. notably when she is faced with vivi and luffy's determination.

and i've rambled about it once before robin is a kind woman at heart and who has a soft spot for the crew + vivi. their earnestness breaks through her own desire/need to not care for the effect her actions have on the lives of others.

notably the only times robin does seem to genuinely smile is in small sudden outbursts around luffy when something he does makes her laugh.

and throughout the rest of the alabasta arc. robin's clearly uncomfortable with facing the real destruction of alabasta at crocodile and her hands. later revealing that she never planned on helping him obtain the poseidon weapon. she never once smiles, instead dropping everything to focus on getting to the poneglyph.

after that though? she does her miss all sunday smile one last time when she asks luffy to join his crew. it's a famous panel, we all know it, we all love it.

the longer robin was with the straw hats. the more she began to genuinely smile. it's well established that being on the crew brought back joy and laughter into robin's life, that being with them gave her a reason to live again. but it was a slow start until we got to see this robin more often and more freely who is cheered by everyone's bright youth and excitement in being alive in a ways that she never had been allowed.

#whenever my meds kick in it feels like im gonna piss myself. not literally but its really really feels like it #and now whenever that happens my mind goes back to pancho (grandmas dog) at a xmas party years ago #bc he peed when we arrived bc he was so excited to see ppl and my cousin had to clean it up :o) #well for better or for worse i know that feeling now when im pumped on 20mg of adderall #im still getting used to this whole diagnosis thing cause ive gone untreated and undiagnosed for the longest time. so theres probably a lot #i still dont know and have to learn to get myself to be.. functional on my own? self managing???? #i even set up reminders on my phone for work periods meals and stuff. but the problem is actually getting myself to stick to that to a T #because the minute i slack off or something gets in the way it throws it all off until i can be bothered to get back on track. it sucks #at least ive built up other habits like writing notes and setting alarms ahead of time.. but i feel like i could do better #its always hard to change something if youve been doing it wrong for the longest time. especially behaviour and thinking patterns. sigh #in other news my glasses bailed on me so i have to get a new pair sometime. i just realized i never draw my sona with glasses but thats #mostly bc i forget. id love to get some browline glasses like my old pair but im picky and its hard to find one id like for the next 5 year #i also finally managed to collect all the fish in my animal crossing file!!! pulled out a char last week and boom now i have a poster :o) #THAT was a moment where i almost peed myself for real. id love to get all the bugs but i cant stay up late on the switch :o( #yapping #my art #myart #doodles #personal #diary

it's been a whole three weeks since you've seen karina, and you're starting to go nuts without her.

being in the middle of comeback season means you see karina lesser than often. she comes home at ungodly times, and you're lucky if you can even feel her weight dip into the mattress as she passes out. but even if you wanted to make her schedule a little bit easier by giving her a nice massage or helping her wake up in the morning, she's gone before you can even open your eyes.

it's not her fault, and you know that. your texts are littered with apologies, ones she's probably sent in breaks of long hour practices and recordings, and the mere thought that she cares enough to send a message of her missing you in her hectic schedule is enough to warm your heart. she doesn't know that in reality, those words are enough for you.

it's why you're so hellbent on making a nice, home-cooked meal for her when she comes back from practice today. she's being let off early, and you'll finally be able to spend time together, time that's been missed these past few days. she deserves it more than anyone.

the only problem with this is, to put it simply, you're a little too short to reach the ingredients you need. the items you use daily are scattered between the lower shelves where you can obtain them easily, but karina is the one that likes to experiment with less common ingredients on the nights you both stay at home together. she's always teasing you for not being able to reach things you need, but it's okay since she's usually there to get them for you.

unfortunately, that isn't the case today, and the only thing you can do is stack two stools upon each other in order to grab the romano cheese at the top of the drawer. fettuccine alfredo has never been this physically challenging, but you think it'll be worth it when karina lights up at the taste.

"aww, my baby is so tiny. you're really adorable, you know?"

the voice startles you, and suddenly you feel the two stools toppling under you as you fall off the edge. luckily, it's not too high of a distance and the kitchen mat is plush enough to cushion your fall, but the impact is still painful enough to make you groan.

"oh my god, i'm so sorry are you okay?" you hear as you're lifted up, familiar hands feeling your waist to see if you've bruised yourself heavily.

"karina? why are you home early?"

you have to tilt your head up to see her concerned eyes, and even in her worried state, she manages to look beautiful.

"we finished recording early and i wanted to surprise you. but enough about me, are you hurt? do you need an ice pack? why were you even on two stools?"

"i'm fine, just a little sore. and i was trying to get the romano cheese at the top of the drawer since you like fettuccine alfredo."

the concerned look on her face shifts into one of amusement.

"you're so obsessed with me, love."

"hey!" you protest, hitting her shoulder, "i just wanted to be nice and make you dinner since you've been working hard."

"and you could've made any meal. but my little midget girlfriend decided to make my favorite pasta as a reward, huh?"

she tucks you into a hug, not even letting you respond as you're squished against her chest. her fingers find the tips of your hair to play with, and you breathe in the familiar scent of her warmth.

and finally, you feel at home.

three month countdown .ೃ࿐

it's october now and there are only three months until 2024 (yikes)

i'm sure a lot of us are feeling like we haven't accomplished all that we wanted to, but guys... three months is a long time. it's not too late to start. it never is. i personally felt like i could've been doing more, but honestly i know that i've been in a rough patch and that's on me. i feel like if we want to start again now, we have to be willing to forgive ourselves for not already being where we want to be. i have forgiven my self and now it's time to improve.

i want to build some good habits that'll allow me to kick off 2024 to an amazing start. here are my habits i want to build and some more that could inspire you!

habits i want to build

exercising 4 times a week

i used to exercise all the time because i was apart of a sports team. this year i decided to focus on my academics more, but as a result my fitness declined rapidly. i know i could have done both and my exercising would then benefit my academics, but what's done is done. i'm going to do 2 hiit workouts and 2 run/jogs around the block. i'm a firm believer that you don't need to go to the gym to be fit. it can be a money drainer for a lot of people.

clean my room every morning

i've become sloppy with this, it's kind of embarrassing. anyway, i'm going to start waking up and making my bed right away. when i come home i'm going to put stuff where it all belongs. just finding a place for everything will help keep it looking tidy.

read 2 chapters (at least) of a book a day

these habits are things i was doing at the start of the year, but kinda fell off track. to help with building this habit i'm going to put away distractions and go to my local library to keep stuff interesting.

other habit ideas:

waking up early (5-6AM)

going to sleep early (8-10PM)

morning walks

daily journalling

budgeting

drink 2-3L of water everyday (carry a water bottle around!!)

bunch of Phantasy AU doodles n wip from earlier this year

Basically I just found out this year that ball-jointed dolls actually have strings in them and not just... magically attached by the ball joints themselves? And 31 in this AU is a ball jointed doll that were made out of Danny's energy so here we are :3c

I've been watching a lot of doll customization since earlier this year and found out from dollightful's video that no they are all connected by elastic strings inside so that's where the idea came from

...i was looking on google to find a good example to put here and clearly I'm not exactly paying attention to how the main body strings are actually.. pinned to?

the video I've been watching the most is dollightful n moonlight jewel and they have their bjd usually only to the bottom of the doll head instead of all the way to the top on the skull pin like the diagram above

Which is why 31 has his strings all connected to the 'heart' in the middle instead of the head kasjdnkasjnd

But yeah uhhh specifics aside...

Those ball jointed dolls made me think of 31, and then thinking about the clones in Phantasy AU and like.. the logistic of it

for 31, the idea is that during the circus gothica arc for this AU, Danny actually got kidnapped all the whole way into another universe/plane in which he met Valeska (Enn's oc) who unalive what his face the circus leader n break Danny's hypnosis

and now that Danny is essentially stuck in a whole other plane/realm/or sth he just following Valeska hoping she'll help him find his way back.

In one such trip, Danny got kidnapped (again) by another group/cult who wanted to use his power/energy as a gate keeper to the ghost zone to make their own gate keeper so they can open portals to ghost zones and maybe other realms too

31 is part of the experiments. He's a doll made with part of Danny's energy as his core.

And then it's.. uhh.. sth sth Valeska finally found out where they kept Danny and devour everyone there safe from Danny n 31 who helped him escape so now the three of them travel together~

The last pict is me thinking about clones and kingdom hearts :tm: so dramatic about Danny being the soul separated from the main body and 31 a clone made from part of the soul too and all that Not sure where I'm going with that but it do sound cool

And there's also Danielle but I'm not exactly sure.. how she would fit in? but it would be interesting if she was made from Danny's body somehow

so 31 made from part of teh soul and Dani from part of the body sounds poetic somehow
