Rule one of fandom: there are some things that only exist for us.

Don’t send actors fics

Don’t give them explicit art ever

Don’t tag them in rpf questions or theories

Don’t try to bring them into fandom drama of any kind

Don’t hold them responsible for what the producers and writers decide

They’re still people.  They have private lives, which do not include fandom.

#fandom culture #fandom history #rpf is a pretty hard pass from me for multiple reasons but i've never seen a successful argument that it's *inherently* harmful #people don't need to be into rpf to cross boundaries with actors and creators in bad ways #and linking that just makes calling out the ACTIONS you see in your community harder to do #plus the idea there's even an easy hard line to draw that would successfully ban it is ridiculous #can't tag rpf? 'ok well now this is an actor au about these two characters hooking up on the set of their media franchise' #just give up the bad-vibes based war on rpf as a concept and focus on the much clearer harm reduction in rebuilding fandom boundaries #and making a point to understand WHY they are important
