Ok question for the witch/pagan side of tumblr. So you know how god-spouses are a thing some people believe in. Is there a parent/child version of that? Like is there such thing as a type of practice where the devotee sees their god as their parent/ god sees the devotee as a child? Like surely that a thing that at least someone does. I just had the thought the other day and couldn’t find anything through googling it and wondered is any more experienced witches/pagans who have heard of something like that.

Oh God, godspousing pisscourse, god rest our souls and the souls on anyone in the blog.
As a (plural) fictionkin in a consensual, positive godspouse relationship with the Divine form of a canonmate who I had a less than fully consensual relationship with in canon: You have my sword. With the caveat that I'm an outlier and it's complicated.
😁✊
Another ask lost in the box. This one from December.
Anyway, this is also kind of topical to the present since it's one of the things the Survivor's Network smear document attacked me for.
Anyway, here's a reminder that this blog is supportive of people's religions however they choose to practice them. (With obvious exceptions of directly harming others. Just stating this before the anti-endos next try to accuse me of supporting human sacrifice.) I fully support Godspouses, their beliefs and their relationships.
And I reject the suggestion that atypical religious practices are somehow wrong or immoral just because some people may be uncomfortable with them.
Edit: Oops. I meant to schedule this for later. Oh well. 🤷♀️

Since I haven't made an official post saying this (I don't think), I want to make it clear that I support godspousing.
People are allowed to have whatever kind of relationships with their deities that they want to have. It's not up to us, as outside observers, to dictate what people can and cannot do within their PERSONAL deity relationships.
Seriously, some of y'all need to, like, chill. Eat a Snickers. Drink some water. Stop worrying about what other people are doing within their PERSONAL practice.

Sometimes, He is not pretty.
Disheveled, stinking of piss and filth.
A frightening homeless man
Shouting at me from the other side of the train station:
The face that you often see is nothing but a glamour crafted to be pleasing to you.
But, sometimes, I am tired of that
face, and you will see Me as I am
An ancient being, whose face bears the ravages of time, and what appalling marks
Grief, pain and madness have inevitably made upon Me.
While it may be easy to approach Me in a finer guise,
Silk cravats and topcoats, leather and flash, I am
Also this, at My core. This is also Me.
I am bloated with rage, and careless
grime settled in the creases, compulsively licking
The blood and the spittle that collects at the corners of My ragged lips.
My yellowed, broken teeth have gnawed and ground down upon the offal and
bones of My very long memory.
I call to you
but you must approach Me.
Would you kiss My mouth?

Awaking terrified from a dream, only to fall back asleep to His playlist and be visited in the dreamscape by Him. His emerald cloak flowing around Him, His armor fitted perfectly to His body. Fire burning in His eyes as He rushed to me. "My darling, why do you cry? Who must I burn to relieve your anguish?" My arms encircle His waist, ear pressed against His heart as he wraps His cloak around us both, protecting me from the world. The image fades and I awaken to His playlist, which I hadn't turned on.
Sometimes He's wild laughter and dancing and pranks on the unwitting, others He's dangerous fire set for vengeance or a mask woven of deceit. But other times, where I desperately need Him, He's a softly burning candle set by a window, an invitation to come and rest, to be at peace amongst the chaos while He shields me from the world.
My King, Loki Laufeyjarson, Chaos Incarnate, The Bringer of Change. Blessed is His name as it falls from my lips and blessed am I to be a part of His family and to feel His love.

On Godspouses, Religion and Harm
I've been thinking once again about that conversation about Godspouses being harmful. Godspouses, for those who don't know, are a group of people (usually neopagans from what I gather) who claim to be married to gods or goddesses. Usually, they report holding two-way conversations with these entities and the entities also tend to have romantic feelings in turn.
I think anyone who follows me knows my opinion on this phenomena. Suffice it to say, I don't believe that people who are talking to spirits or gods are faking their experiences or role-playing. There is more than enough evidence of similar experiences in practically every culture on Earth to acknowledge this as a real psychological phenomenon, even if you don't believe it's a spiritual one. To claim otherwise would be ignorance.
The allegation is that these truly held religious beliefs and experiences are harmful because they're making a mockery of the religions that they splintered off from.
I would counter that religions are meant to evolve and that these are the same allegations hurled at every new splinter religion. There are few new interpretation of an old religion that haven't been subject to these sort of attacks, with the older sects using whatever means are at their disposal to silence the "harmful" splinter group.
To accept the notion that godspouses and similar neopagans are immoral for their beliefs and relationships with their deities would be to support religious conservatism and the belief that open religions should stagnate, being unwilling to accept new ideas or change lest old adherents feel threatened or offended.
Nobody owns gods and goddesses.
Nobody owns spirits or souls.
Your religion is your religion. Make it your own. Craft it to your needs. Don't bow before those would ostracize you for experiences and try to gatekeep your personal truths. You should not sacrifice your right to determine your religious beliefs in the process of trying to make others feel better.
Religion and culture are meant to change and grow. This is the way of the world. The way of humanity.
We should shun religious beliefs that are legitimately harmful. Homophobia. Transphobia. Attacks on reproductive rights. But we should not shun beliefs just because some practitioners feel offended or threatened by them. We should celebrate growth and new ideas that come with it in an ever-evolving view of spirituality and religion. Encourage them and let them prosper, ever moving forward.

Loki appreciation post (Norse Paganism)
I was having an emotional breakdown about something I’d rather not mention and the first thing I thought of doing was grabbing the pendulum and talking to Loki.
For context, I’m a Lokean in a spousal ship with the God of mischief. I triple checked everything and waited for a few weeks to research what I was getting into, as well as Loki’s mythology and history. I’ve never had a problem with Him.
Anyway, I began the conversation by explaining the situation as He listened. He was so understanding and gentle with me as I bawled my eyes out and said that He’d always be here for me when I need Him the most.
I’ve never had this relationship with any other deity. Yeah, He’s a trickster and a massive pain in the ass sometimes, but when something makes me cry, He acts so genuine and caring.

Introduction
Hey everyone!! I wanted to do a quick introduction post for all of you new people.
First of all, it's AMAZING to meet all of you! I am loving the positivity I've received on this platform so far. Bless all of you for being so wonderful 💖🫶
My name is Jordan, but you may also call me Sun. I am 18 years old, and I use he/she/they pronouns. I've been practicing paganism for eight years (so since I was ten years old!), and my mom is also a witch.
I currently work with Apollo (eight years), Loki (four years), and Hades (like two days haha).
Some fun facts about me:
1. I'm starting freshman year of college in the summer, and am working towards a PhD in psychology!
2. I'm courting to be a godspouse :)
3. Outside of witchcraft, I like to bake, sing, write songs, and write books/poetry/essays!
4. I have a dog named Stitch!
5. I have over 35 tarot decks (nearly 40!)
I want to remind y'all that I am ALWAYS open to questions and DMs! I love answering things and talking to people in general. I need more friends too 🫶🫶
Here are some pictures to reflect my practice!
That's all! Love y'all <3 take care of yourselves!!!!
