Baneful Magic Masterpost

***I understand that cursing is a controversial topic for some people. I don't believe in the threefold's law or whatnot, so such things aren't a concern for me. I do, however, advise you to only curse someone who truly deserves it. Curses are meant to be permanent and difficult to break, while hexes aren't nearly as potent. Do with that knowledge what you will. Intense spells will be marked with "***".***

Your Joy Will Turn to Ashes, a Curse
This is a curse aimed at someone who has wronged the caster in a grievous manner, especially by committing abuse. The goal is to return the negativity and pain to the abuser. This is ideally done outside or in a well ventilated area, away from anything flammable.
(The quote is borrowed from George R.R. Martin’s A Clash of Kings, though that is the only outside element used in this working (I felt it was fitting — feel free to come up with your own words, of course.)
Materials:
dried stinging nettle
dried cloves
rose thorns
war water or storm water
pen and parchment paper (or brown paper)
fire-proof container, matches
photo of target (optional)
Write down the target’s name on the paper and, if you have a photo of them, place the photo on top of the paper. Fold it in half, then fold the ends of the paper to create a packet, leaving one side open.
Add the dry materials to the packet. As you do, focus on the wrong the target has done to you and/or others. If this is too painful to think about, just focus on who you wish to curse. Fold the mouth of the packet closed. Allow a few drops of the water to fall onto the packet.
Light the corner of the packet on fire, then immediately drop it into the fire-proof container. As it burns to ash, say the following:
A day will come When you think yourself safe and happy, and suddenly your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth. And you’ll know the debt is paid.
Scatter the ashes outside, away from your home.

It actually makes a lot of sense for Apollon to be in courtrooms!
Zeus is the god of justice, but Apollon is the one who executes it. He is the god of law and that kinda things. Outside the temple of Delphi there's the Delphic Maxims which could be explained as "Apollon's DIY to life" lmao.
He is, indeed, a god that actively participates in the political life of mortals. After all, He is the god of civilization and culture.
Non-traditional things I associate with Apollo
.Guitars (awesome stringed instrument I believe He adores)
.Canaries (they're small, yellow, and sing!)
.Modern vaccines (a natural counterpoint to his plague association)
.YouTube (He would /so/ have a YouTube channel)
.Hospitals, modern Western medicine (obvious reasons)
.Courtrooms (This feels more like Zeus and Athena's domain, but Apollo gives me a similar sense of order and justice; He appreciates a well-run courtroom)
.Air purifiers for indoor spaces; respirator masks (effective defenses against airborne diseases such as Covid)
.Angelic aesthetic (who says a pagan deity can't appropriate some Biblical themes, hey?)
.Janitors, other public and private cleaners (they are critical for maintaining a healthy environment)
.Teachers (Apollo is a guide for the youth, just as teachers strive to be)
.Certain cat species: housecats, cheetahs, and lions
.Transmasculinity
.Sunflowers
.The Solarpunk movement/aesthetic (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-04-07/solarpunk-design-architecture-sustainable-future/103667452 ; https://www.climate-kic.org/solarpunk-speculative-fiction-climate-optimists/)
.Art Nouveau aesthetic
Fellow Apollo devotees, feel free to include your own associations with Apollo!

King Belial feels like biting into raw flesh, blood still warm. Not quite like a vampire, more like an unclassified beast, made from the Abyss.
I love that kind of energy, he's amazing.

I know that Ba'al is a rain god amongst other things, a god of heavens. But he feels like a deep jungle for me, he reminds me of that deep green of the rainforest, the fresh air and the smell of the earth. He's the birds singing and the forest shaking under the lighting's power and the thunder's roar.
He's Nature, the phenomenon of chaos and life.

GODS I LOVE THE RAIN.
Ba'al I LOVE YOU.
I'm eager to hear his voice making the skies tremble. I want to see his lighting and feel his blessing over my skin.
Praised be Hadad, heavenly king and He who breathes life into me.

(I made a discord emoji of Apollon because why not? Also, YES you can use it for your own server! Hopefully, Apollon doesn't mind me drawing him like this, hshshs)

I want to say that if I don't address to Lucifer as a King alll the time that's because I only do it in ritual bcs on a daily basis it just feels weird to be that formal. After some time formalities were not necessary, besides, Ive never felt that he demands to be called King/Lord, or any title, at least all the time. He likes it, yes, and he appreciates it, but it's not like he's gonna get mad if you don't add King or Lord to his name.

7 Virtues of Hellenism.
Xenia - This is the pillar that signifies hospitality, generosity and reciprocity. It's typically demonstrated in a guest/host dynamic.
Kharis - This is the pillar that signifies appreciation and gratitude. It entails giving to the gods and and expressing gratitude when you receive something from them.
Eusebia - This is the pillar that signifies reverence and veneration towards the gods. It can be translated to 'piety' or 'reverant conduct' meaning that you show respect for them.
Hagneia - This is the pillar that signifies purifying yourself. It entails having moral, perhaps physical too, purity and avoiding miasma where possible.
Arete - This is the pillar that signifies excellence and brilliance. It entails trying to reach your highest potential and this can be in any field.
Sophia - This is the pillar that signifies the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
Sophrosyne - This is the pillar that signifies self-control and prudence. It involves being of sound mind and remaining balanced, which can further lead to other positive qualities to have.
I hope these are right and that I didn't misunderstand their meanings! Hopefully this is useful to anyone, I certainly enjoyed making the post!

What does “courting to be a godspouse mean”? /genq
Hi! Thank you for asking!! This is gonna be a LONG post haha.
To understand courting, I have to explain godspousql itself. Lots of people don't necessarily understand godspousal (and courting), and it means something different for everyone; I'll do my best to explain how I see it, and how I'm practicing it.
Godspousal is a lot "simpler" (and yet very serious) for me than what others might see it. It's an oath that you make to a deity to bind yourself to them for a lifetime (or more!). There are many different forms of spousal (romantic, platonic, familial, devotional). But in its core, it's an oath.
Don't get me wrong- oaths are VERY serious, and should not ever be taken lightly. Minors shouldn't engage in oaths in general, especially not spousal; deities are not going to court a minor for this reason. Remember, it's binding. There isn't really a way to turn back once it happens.
Onto the main part of your question: Courting. So, courting is basically a period of trials. It's a time to figure out if you and the deity you might make an oath to are compatible. Sometimes, during courting, you might find that you and the deity do not work together. That's okay! You can always call off the oath before you make it.
In my practice, I'm "romantically" courting a deity. This isn't necessarily the same as dating. It's actually a lot different. The mortal still has a high amount of respect for the deity. The deity still sees the mortal as just that; a mortal. The difference is that there is an attraction to each other. You will have small disagreements, possibly arguments, but they should never lead to disrespect. Communication is huge in godspousal.
You see many times in mythology that our deities have relationships with mortals. It's sort of like that!
People will also compare godspousal to nuns; after all, they are known as Jesus's wives.
My spouse and I haven't been courting for very long, but it's been wonderful so far (albeit a disagreement here and there). The whole concept of godspousal can be confusing as heck, so if anybody needs clarification or a more in-depth explanation, I'm happy to answer any questions!
Love yall 🫶 your practice is valid!!! Take care of yourselves!
