*insecure*
Ariadne would never admit of being jealous or insecure but her feelings would get the best of her. I think her life in Crete shaped her opinions on marriage and life and since ber parents had a rocky one, she feared of having one like them.
To her Dionysus is perfect, even with his wild nature so it's not wonder many men and women alike are drawn to him. But she often compares herself or fears of him cheating. But he realises when she feels down. He never misses the difference in her moods and knows how to make her open up to him.
And actions speak louder then words and he intents to prove his love to her no matter how many times it takes.

When you step into sunlight, you honor Apollo. When you admire the moon, you honor Artemis. When you admire cloud shapes, you honor Hera. When you smell petrichor, you honor Zeus. When you laugh at a joke, you honor Hermes. When your body twitches to dance at a particularly upbeat music, you honor Dinoysus. When you enjoy the first bite of your breakfast, you honor Demeter. When you choose your peace over any conflict, you honor Athena. When you warm yourself up by sheltering yourself in blanket, you honor Hestia. When you listen to Ocean sounds, you honor Poseidon. When you smell flowers, you honor Persephone. When you admire the coolness of first day of Autumn, you honor Hades. When you wear your favourite jewellery, you honor Hephaestus. When you smile, you honor Aphrodite. When you exercise, you honor Ares. When you light a torch in a dark room, you honor Hekate.
Your body is a shrine to Gods, your being an act of devotion for them. You, by yourself, are enough for them.

I'm so tired of practicing alone. Physically, yes; but i also just feel so separated from the community.
I want people to stop saying there's a specific way to pray, worship, work with, devote, honor, or practice within hellenic polytheism.
But on the physical hand, i want people to dance in the sunlight with me as we pray to our gods. I want to be surrounded by like minded people as we practice what makes us and our religion ours.

The violent aspects of Dionysus and Ares are extremely comforting to me. I know they don't judge me for the thoughts in my head and the images my brain invents when I close my eyes. I know that not only do they not judge me but they understand, and that even in those thoughts there is still something holy and divine.
I am not only worthy of love despite my intrusive thoughts, or if I do enough to "redeem" myself, but in them too, and it is because of Dionysus and Ares that I can see that. They provide me with a comfort I hadn't known possible.

"holding grudges.."
Considering what Hera did to Dionysus i wouldn't be surprised if he still was angry for what she did to him. Understandably so, since (in Orphic religion) Dionysus was the heir of Zeus and Hera fearing his ingrowing power conspired with the Titans to slay the boy. He was reincarnated as Semele's son but was almost lost again to Hera's jealousy. That's why Dionysus is also referred to as the god or death and rebirth.

Isn't it actually so beautiful that deities take the time to try and guide and teach us? How wonderful is it that they care for us so deeply that they'd share their wisdom, knowledge, and insight so freely? I think a deity's love is something to be cherished, and I cherish this. 🧡✨

every now and then i think about this article that i read which traced the origins of Dionysos back through the ages. and apparently, He's one of the oldest deities known from the Greeks, and His name was seen on Linear B tablets dating back to the Minoans.
this is interesting for two reasons:
Dionysos is so often seen as a "foreign God", who came roaring out of some mysterious mountain in the East. but He's also there with the Minoans, receiving pretty large sacrifices, almost 3500 years ago.
the Minoans were the civilization that Ariadne came from - they were named after King Minos, they were actively on Crete. i can only wonder how old the story of Ariadne and Dionysos is, then. Ariadne wasn't mentioned in the article, but some research shows that it's a not unheard of opinion that Her name is old, and there's a good chance it came from the Minoans.
these two things put together just kind of show how interesting Dionysos is when it comes to being a God of opposites. He's been worshiped in Greece for almost 3500 years, and yet He's a young foreign God. He's married to a mortal woman and yet Her name echoes back to the very birth of Her own mythic kingdom, with an origin that may mean "most holy". together, Dionysos and Ariadne are both eternally young and eternally old, and there's just something that sticks in my head about that, you feel?
anyways, here are the two articles that i used for this:

The Shocking True Origins of Dionysos - by Spencer McDaniel
