A/N: this one wrote itself basically. so enjoy! happy weekend and a big smooch

June 6 – It seems that one Mr. Nigel Berbrooke has returned after an extended unexplained absence. He was spotted at the gentleman's club last night, though only for a very short time. This author heard that Mr. Berbrooke was asked to leave only an hour into his appearance due to a particularly aggressive threat he made toward Simon Basset. It’s safe to say that he has been uninvited from the Duke’s ball this evening, and perhaps from the rest of the social season’s events as well, depending on how lenient the Duke and Duchess of Hastings decide to be.
However, information regarding his whereabouts for the past month is scarce, and this author lacks any reputable sources about what the man has been up to while away from London. But rest assured, dear readers, that any information I receive will be relayed through this very column.
Colin looked nervously at his reflection for what seemed like the hundredth time, adjusting his cravat ever so slightly. He sighed in frustration, accepting the fact that his appearance wouldn’t look quite right no matter what he did.
Tonight was Daphne’s ball, and he knew for a fact that you would be in attendance. As much as he was trying to convince himself that this ball was no different, he knew it wasn’t going to be the same. Not after his talk with Anthony. There were some concerningly similar aspects between Kate and Anthony and his friendship– could he even call it a friendship? –with you, and Colin was not too hard-headed to be able to admit that.
But he didn’t want to scare you off. As much as he liked you, he knew you were skittish after everything that happened with Lord Barlow. Besides, Colin didn’t even know if you liked him, too, or if you considered all of this as just an attempt to make you look desirable to other candidates.
Frankly, Colin wasn’t even sure he could convince you to ever marry him. Maybe just being friends, or whatever it was the two of you had now, would suffice. Truthfully, he would take anything.
Tonight, he just wanted a dance. And perhaps a chat, too.
Based on the past few times Colin had spoken with you, he had concluded that you might be his favorite person in the ton to talk to. The mere thought of speaking with you tonight stirred excitement in his stomach. Every time you engaged in conversation, he found himself utterly captivated, forgetting everything else around him. What's more, you seemed genuinely interested in his what he had to say, a rarity among the ton. For the first time, he felt truly understood, and he hoped desperately that you reciprocated his sentiment.
“You look fine,” assured Eloise. “Now can we please go? We’ll never hear the end of it from Daphne if we’re late!”
Colin grumbled in annoyance but begrudgingly made his way to the carriage. In truth, he'd do just about anything to be near you. Even if he didn’t immediately dance with you– knowing full well you would be flocked by hordes of gentlemen wanting your hand in marriage– he still liked to simply… observe you. How your eyes crinkled shut when you laughed, the way you nervously bit your lip when someone you didn’t particularly like asked you to dance, the way you fiddled with your gloves when you were itching to get out of a conversation.
Bloody hell, Colin thought, maybe he did have feelings for you. Well, not love, that would be absurd. But certainly something more than the petty rivalry that had consumed your interactions for weeks on end. It was a sobering realization, especially after relentlessly antagonizing you for the better part of seven weeks.
He was so caught up in his thoughts about you that Colin barely noticed once the carriage had arrived at Daphne and Simon’s residence.
“Colin, darling, is anything the matter?” his mother inquired, tapping him on the arm and gently leading him toward his sister’s home.
“No, no, sorry. Everything’s alright, just got a bit distracted there,” he smiled back.
Christ, he had to get a grip. You’d be put off immediately if you saw how he was acting now. He smoothed his coat down as he entered the ballroom, eyes immediately searching for you in the crowd.
He quickly spotted you speaking to a man he’d never seen before with Isabelle and Carlos by your side. Damn, thought. He’d have to wait to ask you to dance.
But it was no bother. In the meantime, he attended to his duties as the most beloved Bridgerton. He sought out his sister and Simon to thank them for hosting the ball, of course, and danced with Penelope Featherington.
Yet his focus stayed on you. He found himself glancing over to where you were every few minutes, just needing reassurance that you were still there. And also because he quite liked looking at you in general.
Colin shook his head, bringing his attention back to Penelope. He had to remind himself to pull himself together. Even though Colin had spoken to Anthony, you had no reason to believe anything was different between you two. And it wasn’t. Everything was the same. It was only Colin who had changed. Who wanted something different, something more.
“What’s on your mind?” asked Penelope after she noticed Colin’s drifting attention.
“Ah, nothing,” he responded dismissively. “Does Lady Montclair look particularly… subdued tonight, do you think?”
“Y/N?” Penelope clarified, looking over at where you were standing next to Louis.
“Oh heavens, don’t look now!” Colin whispered, panicked. “She’ll see us both looking and know we were talking about her.”
Penelope laughed in disbelief. “Could it be? That my dear friend Colin Bridgerton is finally falling for someone? Have you truly found roots in England? Is that why you’ve stayed for so long this season?”
Colin could only smile bashfully. She had never seen him quite like this. And though it was unusual, it was fairly endearing to see him so flustered over a girl.
“Well, go talk to her, then. What are you doing dancing with me?”
“Penelope, I dance with you at every ball. I can go speak with her after. And don’t tell anyone! I’m not even sure if she likes me.”
“Very well then,” relented Penelope, but Colin did not miss the knowing smile she sent him.
After the dance concluded, Colin chatted with his brothers for a few minutes before making his way over to you and Louis, wanting to avoid seeming overly eager. But once he started walking toward you, your head shot up, as if you could tell that he was getting nearer.
Your eyes met for a split second, but you immediately turned your head away, choosing instead to look at your gloved hands, which were fidgeting nervously. Colin frowned in confusion at your reaction, but continued walking, thinking that perhaps you had seen someone else behind him.
As he reached your side, he saw you chewing anxiously on your lip and his frown deepened. But he pushed through. This was what he wanted, after all. You were what he wanted.
“Lady Montclair,” he bowed. “Would you care for a dance tonight?” he asked, a hopeful smile on his lips as he reached for the dance card on your wrist.
But you pulled your hand away abruptly, refusing to meet his eyes. “No, thank you, Mr. Bridgerton,” was your curt response.
Colin’s confusion morphed into frustration. What was the matter with you?
“That’s alright, I understand if you want to save space on your dance card for more…serious suitors,” he cringed as he heard himself speak. But at the end of the day, he was well aware that you were looking for a titled gentleman to be your husband. “We could take a turn about the ballroom and chat for a bit,” he offered, looking at you hopefully once again.
You finally met his eyes, and he could tell you were searching for something as you looked at him, a pained look on your face.
“No, thank you,” you repeated firmly, an edge to your voice.
Colin rolled his eyes. This was so typical of you. You let him in for about three seconds and then went back to keeping him at arm’s length for whatever unknown reason.
“Are we really back to doing this?” asked Colin, exasperated. “I thought we were friends, at the very least.”
Your spine was suddenly rigid, and a fury ignited in your eyes. “We were never friends, Mr. Bridgerton,” you ground out. “You were simply doing Eloise a favor. Now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s someone else I must dance with.”
Your voice was cold and uncaring, and Colin was slapped with a reminder of how things used to be as you sidestepped him to go toward the other side of the ballroom.
Three steps into your journey, it was clear that there wasn’t actually anyone waiting to dance with you, but he couldn’t for the life of him figure out why you were so desperate to get away. Even at the peak of your hatred toward him, you were always open to verbally sparring.
Colin turned around to Louis, shooting him a questioning look. But your brother could only shrug. Who knew what went on in the depths of your brain? Louis had noticed you had been slightly on edge ever since you returned from Hyde Park with your sisters yesterday afternoon, but he wasn’t expecting you to be this hostile, especially after getting along so well with Colin.
Feeling his desire to speak with you outweigh his pride, Colin turned back and grabbed your hand, turning you to face him. “If what you want is to go back to arguing, I’m happy to do that,” he said, heart sinking to his stomach at the thought of going back to how things were.
He sounded positively pathetic. But he didn’t care. All he cared about was keeping this fragile dynamic alive, keeping you near him. If Anthony and Kate could do it, couldn’t the two of you?
You seemed on the brink of tears, but your voice held an unspeakable fury. “What I want is for you to leave. Me. Alone,” you emphasized each word with a pointed jab at his chest. “Please,” you whispered, your voice faltering. “I do not wish to dance with you, or to chat with you, or even to be near you at all. Good night.”
With that, you pivoted away, heading towards the refreshment table, tears welling in your eyes. And Colin was left standing there, hand lingering over the spot on his chest you had prodded.
He felt a familiar anger rising through him. It didn’t matter that you were the only person in the world who understood him. It didn’t matter that you were completely beautiful and incredibly smart, either. And it certainly didn’t matter that he’d fallen for you. Because you still hated him. And he was a fool to ever think things could be different.
Colin was rooted to the spot, unable to move as he watched you smile and greet some gentleman or other. He flinched as he saw the man kiss the back of your hand, and watched, seething, as he led you to the dance floor.
Deciding he needed something stronger than lemonade, Colin turned around and grabbed a glass of champagne, downing it in one go. He couldn’t believe you didn’t think he was your friend. What the hell else could you call it?
He spotted Eloise and Penelope chatting close by and stomped over to them. He was sure he looked like Gregory after a fight with Hyacinth, pouting with his arms crossed, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care.
“I thought you were going to talk to Y/N,” said Penelope, confused to see him back so soon.
Colin shot her a murderous look. “She wants nothing to do with me, apparently. She said the only reason I talked to her was out of a favor to Eloise.”
Eloise coughed awkwardly. “Well, didn’t you?”
“No!” shot back Colin defensively. “Not entirely, at least. I don’t know. I need to leave.”
You were still dancing with the unnamed man, and Colin was very much still seething as he watched the pair of you twirl around and smile at one another.
Usually, it was frustrating to watch you dance with other people because you were never like that with him. But this well and truly hurt. It hurt to see you like this when he knew, now for a fact, that he could never have that with you again.
“I need to leave,” he repeated. He couldn’t bear to watch you do this all night.
Snatching another glass of champagne and downing that one, too, he bid his goodbyes to Penelope and Eloise and made his way across the ballroom to the exit.
“Are you leaving already, darling? You’ve barely been here an hour,” Colin heard next to him as a hand reached out for his elbow.
Turning around, he faced his mother, who looked like she was in the middle of a conversation with Anthony and Benedict.
Colin nodded. “I’m sorry, mother. I just can’t. I can’t stay,” he responded, voice breaking as he glanced back toward you again.
Seeing you lean to whisper something in your suitor’s ear, he slumped forward, practically feeling physical pain at the sight.
“I must go,” Colin said firmly, giving his mother a quick squeeze and rushing to the door.
Violet nodded, bewildered, and followed where Colin’s gaze had been. Finding you dancing with Lord Norcliffe, Violet sent a knowing look to Benedict and Anthony.
“I suppose Hyacinth was right,” she said sympathetically.
“And don’t you dare tell her! It’ll get to her head,” responded Benedict.
---
“The Bridgertons will be in attendance tonight,” your mother informed you carefully as you sat in the carriage on the way to yet another ball.
“And by the Bridgertons you mean…”
“She means Colin, yes,” answered Jacques, earning a stifled laugh from his wife, Chiara.
Ever since they’d been back and learned of your intense hatred for Colin, Jacques had not been able to stop making a mockery of it. Usually, you were quite agreeable, and it was rare that you found yourself at odds with someone who wasn’t your sibling, so this seemingly unprompted hatred was quite amusing to your brother.
You groaned and glared at him. “No one asked you to come tonight, you know. In fact, no one asked you to come to England at all! You could have stayed in Tuscany, and I would have been much happier.”
“Ah, but then I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to tease you about this,” answered Jacques, completely unbothered by your biting tone.
“Whatever,” you grumbled in response, only slightly comforted by Chiara’s apologetic smile as she softly scolded her husband.
It had been four days since your run-in with Nigel, and three since you saw Colin at Daphne’s ball, and the thought of seeing him again made you feel sick. It was already bad enough that he was disgusting and had no respect for you, but it was made infinitely worse by the fact that you had let yourself grow to care for him. In a friendly way, of course. You could never have married him, anyway. But it was still embarrassing that you fell into his charming trap and thought that you could become something more than a conquest for him.
“Be nice,” your mother whispered in warning as you approached the Bridgertons.
You shrugged her off, not needing a reminder. You had been brought up to be the perfect lady. You weren’t about to forget yourself now. You refused to give Colin that power.
You greeted the family warmly until you got to Colin. “Mr. Bridgerton,” you said, giving him a curt nod.
Not waiting for a response, you moved to stand away from him as you looked out at the crowd. Perhaps you would find a gentleman who was actually enjoyable to talk to, though your chances seemed slim.
Colin shifted uncomfortably on his feet, watching you intently. It seemed that your behavior at Daphne’s ball hadn’t been a fluke, after all. He ground his teeth in annoyance, growing increasingly irritated by the fact that you were just standing there.
Why weren’t you doing anything? It was infuriating. Perhaps it would have been less infuriating if it were anyone else, but it seemed like anything you did was particularly vexing to him.
Making his way over to you, he stopped beside you. Wanting to slip back into the comfort of your tumultuous dynamic, Colin took a shot at your attire. “I see the modiste-”
“Don’t,” you interrupted, your voice shaking, barely above a whisper, and your gaze locked ahead of you.
Colin was taken aback. You had never, in all the time that he had known you, backed down from an argument. It seemed that you just… didn’t want him around at all. You hated him enough that you didn’t want to be near him. And in any way that mattered, it was worse than when you were antagonizing him.
“I’m sorry,” Colin said desperately. “I didn’t mean- Look, can we please talk? Just quickly, I just want-”
But you didn’t even let him finish. “There’s nothing to say.”
Colin scoffed, a futile attempt to hide how hurt he was really feeling. “What do you mean there isn’t anything to say? I have things to say, at least. Just talk to me.”
You finally turned to face him, feeling your stomach drop as you looked at his desperate eyes searching yours for an answer.
“Let me rephrase. I do not wish to speak with you, in any capacity, now or any time in the future. I do not care to hear what you have to say, Mr. Bridgerton, and I would appreciate it if you could respect that, though I know that’s not usually in your nature.”
Colin could only sputter, staring at you in disbelief as you walked away. He felt his stomach turn uncomfortably as you reached a man he didn’t know, but whom you’d danced with at Daphne’s Ball.
He had to have done something wrong. Colin hadn’t the slightest clue what, but you obviously had something against him, and it clearly wasn’t just you being silly.
He swore under his breath. You were impossible. Not even Eloise knew why you hated him! How on earth was he supposed to know how to fix this when you refused to speak with him? It was almost easier when all you did was hurl insults at him and step on his feet as he poured lemonade down your dress.
Over on the dance floor, you couldn’t help but steal glances at Colin, mentally scolding yourself every time you did. This was not how you were supposed to be acting toward the man who had jumped at the first opportunity to compromise you.
The only reason you were dancing with Lord Norcliffe now was because he had not arrived in London until after your whole debacle with Lord Barlow. You supposed he could have heard what happened from someone else, but he was safer than the rest of the men of the ton, you thought grimly. It would’ve helped if he was interesting to talk to, or even nice to look at, but you supposed you couldn’t be very selective.
Curtsying and thanking Lord Norcliffe for the dance, you made a beeline toward Carlos and Philippe across the room.
“You look like you don’t want to be here,” commented your brother, amused.
You rolled your eyes at him. “Astute observation, Philippe.”
Carlos laughed and gave you a comforting pat on the head. “But what happened to your season in England? I thought you were excited to be here?”
“My mother and father were certainly excited,” you mused, taking Philippe’s lemonade and drinking from it.
Seeing their confused looks, you briefly explained your encounter with Nigel Berbrooke, and they suddenly became very concerned.
“Ce connard! Il est où? Je vai le tuer,” growled Philippe under his breath, not wanting the rest of the ton to hear his threat (That asshole! Where is he? I’m going to kill him).
“Philippe, it’s alright,” you assured him, glancing over at Carlos and seeing that he, too, had understood your brother’s words despite not speaking French. “I believe Simon Basset took care of him at White’s a few days ago.”
“That’s just as well, or I’d have done it myself,” he grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest.
“You can just come to Spain next year, cariño,” Carlos said warmly.
You smiled up at your brother-in-law, silently thanking him for the offer even though you knew your parents would never allow it.
Colin watched enviously as you had a conversation with your older brother and your older sister’s husband. He wished he could talk to you again. Even if nothing got resolved between you, he liked to hear your voice. He loved how stubborn you were and how frustrated you got when you forgot the English word for something. He just missed you, he supposed.
Which is why, as Colin watched yet another man approach you and write their name on your dance card, he decided he couldn’t do this anymore. The watching, the waiting, the wanting. He couldn’t do any of it anymore.
“I need to leave,” he said firmly.
Daphne, who had been standing beside him, turned to face him, startled. “Leave where?”
“India, Egypt, Morocco, back to Greece. I don’t care. I just need to get out of here.”
“What? Why?” asked Daphne, still confused.
“You know why,” Colin responded flatly, giving her an unimpressed look.
Daphne instinctively turned to look at you, laughing as the man you were dancing with whispered something to you. She turned to look back at her brother with a disappointed look.
“I can’t imagine leaving would be the best option.”
“Why not?” Colin shot back. “What good can my presence possibly do?”
Daphne put a hand on her brother’s elbow, giving him a sympathetic look. However, her voice was firm. “You always leave when it gets hard, you know? You’re always the first out the door and onto a different continent. Why are you so scared of staying?”
Colin was stunned. He didn’t know his motives were that obvious. But he supposed it made sense for Daphne to know since she knew him better than most people.
“I’m not scared of staying,” Colin insisted defensively. “I just think it’ll be better for everyone if I go.”
Daphne furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head. “And do what? What could you possibly be doing that is so important that you would abandon the woman you love?”
“It doesn’t matter,” Colin argued, his voice growing strained as he felt his chest getting tighter. “None of it matters. She doesn’t love me back. I could be down the street or in Brazil and she wouldn’t even notice. She clearly hates me and wants nothing to do with me, so why should I stay?”
Daphne crossed her arms, looking more than a little disappointed. “Well, I won’t be the one to stop you if you decide to go. But really think about whether you want to be the person who leaves time and again. Things could change. It's only been a few days since she's been like this.”
She had a point, but Colin was too upset to admit it. Daphne was right. He couldn’t just leave now. If anything, it would hurt him more than being near you with you not speaking to him. It was the strangest feeling, knowing you loved someone but feeling powerless to do anything about it.
Colin knew he couldn’t continue like this. Perhaps he couldn’t leave, but he could certainly stay as far away as possible.

husk was perched at the bar, nursing a drink and observing the madness with a half-lidded gaze. as angel dust pranced over to him with a mischievous grin, he didn't seem particularly interested.
"hey, husky, you ever think about getting yourself a special someone?" angel dust wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
husk rolled his eyes. "not really my style. i'm too old to be chasing that kind of nonsense."
angel dust leaned in with a sly smile. "oh, come on. you've gotta have someone in mind."
husk let out an exasperated sigh. "alright, fine. there is someone."
angel dust practically squealed with excitement. "well shit! who is it?"
husk leaned back, a smirk playing on his lips. "it's my wife."
angel dust blinked, momentarily taken aback. "your wife? seriously?"
husk nodded, his nonchalant demeanor unchanged. "yeah, been married for a while. just never felt the need to tell everybody."
angel dust's eyes widened, and he turned to the other members of the hotel with a dramatic flair. "hey, everyone! husk here's got himself a secret wife!"
the sudden revelation prompted a range of reactions. charlie looked genuinely surprised, vaggie raised an eyebrow, and even alastor, who had been eavesdropping with mild interest, tilted his head in acknowledgment.
husk, for his part, didn't seem bothered by the attention. "yeah, yeah. she's a great dame, though. knows how to handle my sorry ass."
vaggie chimed in, unable to resist a teasing remark. "so, husk, when were you planning on introducing us to this mysterious wife of yours?"
husk shrugged. "whenever she feels like dropping by. i'm not about to force her into this circus."
as the revelation settled in, the hazbin hotel's resident gambler continued to sip his drink, seemingly unfazed by the unexpected turn of events.

Golden Globes ┃CL16
summary : where you go to the golden globes with your mystery bf and end up being an f1 driver
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The day had arrived, after weeks of anxiety, you were already dressed in ypur beautiful dress, with your makeup and hair done just waiting to leave. Your boyfriend was there with you, but you had both decided not to pose together on the red carpet, so it would just you. After you received the news that you had been nominated in the category of ''best supporting actress'' for your film ''Oppenheimer'' released that same year, you hadn't been able to sleep, you longed for that award after having given your all to that role.
The Golden Globes would be important, that day your boyfriend would accompany you and you couldn't ask for more. In fact, both had tried to keep your relationship as private as possible for the last two years, but at that moment it almost didn't matter to hide it from the public eye.
Arriving at the event, Y/N, adorned in a stunning floor-length dress, gracefully walked the red carpet, flashing smiles and waving to the adoring crowd.

ynupdates Y/N has arrived to the golden globes looking stunning!
Inside the venue, the atmosphere was equally charged with emotion. You and your partner had already met and were both walking hand in hand.
The glitz and glamor of Hollywood's elite filled the room, and Y/N couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves as she took her seat among the nominees.
As the night progressed, the tension in the room reached its peak when the "Best Supporting Actress" category was announced.
The presenter was reading the names of the nominees while a camera pointed at each one when the room fell silent. Y/N was gripping her boyfriend's hand tightly when the presenter said "And the golden globe goes to" and her heart raced when her name echoed through the auditorium. Her eyes widened in disbelief and she stood up from her seat, she gave her boyfriend a kiss and hugged several of her friends before heading to the stage.
While on stage, holding her award, Y/N began her acceptance speech with her voice shaking. She thanked the incredible team she had worked with on the film, acknowledging the director, her co-stars and her team. The audience burst into applause upon hearing her words.
Then, in a moment that was sure to garner attention on social media, Y/N took a deep breath and dropped a bombshell. "I also want to thank the love of my life, my rock and my biggest supporter ever," she said, drawing shocked faces from the crowd.
The camera panned to capture the surprised expressions on the faces of the audience. Speculation in the room intensified when Y/N continued: "Charles, my charlie, you have been my pillar of strength throughout this incredible journey. Thank you for being there for me through the good and difficult times."
Attention was focused on an elegant Charles Leclerc, sitting in the audience, with a proud smile adorning his face watching her. The revelation caused astonishment in the room and the crowd erupted in a mixture of applause, cheers and murmurs of surprise.
The cameras captured the genuine emotion on Y/N's face as she continued her heartfelt speech, expressing her love for Charles and how he had been the unwavering support she needed all those years. The audience, initially taken by surprise, eventually broke out into a standing ovation, celebrating the couple.
When Y/N left the stage, Charles greeted her with a big hug and a kiss telling her how proud he was of her.

Tumblr media
You can hear your heart pounding in your ears.
It’s a rhythmic sound, aligning with the harsh creak of the bed as Sampo Koski’s hips snap into you with reckless abandon. It’s a carnal exchange, one involving sweat slicked bodies and teeth scraping against tender, sensitive flesh; it’s never been a slow, loving event. It’s always a release of stress.
Nothing more than that.
“Fuck—fuck me, please, don’t stop!” Your breath leaves you in a shuddering gasp. Pleasure zips through you, coursing from your dizzy head to your curled toes, leaving you absolutely molten.
Sampo heeds your calls, his pace never faltering for a second as he holds your hips in a bruising grip. You’re left there to grasp at the bed sheets, rake your nails down his back, lay there and take it as Sampo basks in the feeling of your soaked cunt pulsing around his cock.
“Gonna cum, pretty? C’mon, do it for Sampo, yeah?”
He had an awful habit of referring to himself in third person. It was a habit of his that you hated—not that it really mattered in this moment, when your brain was melting from the pleasure. You feel your core tightening with every passing second. You wanted to. You wanted to cum.
“Fuuuuck,” you drawl, nails digging into his shoulder blades as he draws a hand between the two of you to play with your aching clit. “Don’t stop. ‘m close, please, please,” you beg, a pretty sound that has Sampo growling.
And he doesn’t stop—he grows even more erratic in his thrusts, pushing you over the edge as his lips close around the sensitive skin of your neck. He’s always been a fan of leaving marks; possessive to a fault even if you weren’t officially his.
As you convulse around him, a sob of pleasure falling from your lips, Sampo is groaning and clutching you tight as his hips stutter. He cums, hard, thick ropes of seed shooting inside you as he pushes deep into your cunt.
He’s always had a habit of doing that, too. This one, you hated slightly less.
The two of you pant heavily as you come down from your respective highs. You clutch Sampo tightly, breasts rising and falling with every breath you take. He lets out a low laugh, content to let you hold him tightly as you bask in your post-orgasm high.
And as you come down, you reminisce.
Tumblr media
Steam curls in the air as the pot on the stovetop boils water. You’re in the middle of your habitual tea time, getting ready to make yourself a warm cup to enjoy while you indulge in the latest book you’ve purchased for yourself when you hear your phone ping with a notification.
Your eye twitches as you spy who it’s from.
sampo: hey, pretty. mind meeting me at the usual spot real quick? i have something i need to ask you you: what could you possibly need to ask me that can’t be sent over text? you: sampo? you: sampoooo? you: you bitch. (read)
“Sampo.”
“Yes, pretty girl?”
The drawl of his voice sends a shiver down your spine. You’re supposed to be mad at him for interrupting your tea, though, so you continue with annoyance filling your tone, “What the hell was that cryptic message for? You can never be straight up with me, can you?”
Sampo taps his chin thoughtfully. Then he shrugs. “Some things are best left unwritten… and this particular favor, I’d really like to ask you in person.”
There’s a shit-eating grin on his face, and his tone is one that has you shifting back and forth on your feet. Sampo has always been an enigma to you, a jigsaw puzzle you could never quite figure out. It honestly irked you to no end that you couldn’t read him like you could everyone else.
The ambience of the bar you liked to frequent consumed the silence between you and Sampo. You take a second to claim the seat beside him and order your usual drink, crossing your legs as you give him a once-over.
Sampo’s clad in his usual outfit, his unruly two-toned hair tied back messily, exposing the nape of his neck to the humid atmosphere of the room. Your eyes seem to linger there momentarily before you meet his gaze, emerald pools glimmering with mischief and something more you can’t quite put your finger on.
You make a face at him. His grin widens in response and you roll your eyes.
“Alright. What’s this oh-so important favor, then?”
Sampo’s grin, to your surprise, lessens into a sheepish one. He averts his gaze in favor of knocking back his drink. He looks back to you.
“Ah, well… I was thinking—”
“Don’t beat around the bush, Sampo.” You interject.
Sampo’s lips twitched slightly. “If you would so kindly let me gather my thoughts...” He takes in a breath, a brief pause as he turns over the words he wanted to say before he continues.
“You’ve been telling me about how you’ve been so wound up with stress lately.” He clasps his hands together, rubbing them together in the way he does when he starts kissing ass. “And I was thinking, what if I did you a little favor? I could relieve it for you, if you’d like.”
You wait for more elaboration from him, but it doesn’t come. You raise an eyebrow. “What, exactly, are you suggesting here?”
Silence. Then: “How about we become friends with benefits?”
You gawk at him. His eyes catch on the way your lips part and press together, covered in a pretty sheen of gloss. You’re too busy trying to wrap your head around what he just suggested to notice the lingering hunger in his gaze.
You quickly search for a distraction—noticing that the bartender had slid over your drink without you realizing, you quickly swipe it up and start chugging. You think you hear a chuckle from Sampo in the background.
Once you’re satisfied (you had practically downed your entire drink in one go), savoring the burn of the alcohol that lingers in your throat, you wipe the corner of your lips with a thumb and turn back towards him. He’s still looking at you. Had he even looked at anything else while you were busy regaining your bearings?
It doesn’t matter. Your eyes narrow at him and you cross your arms. “What’s in it for you?”
Sampo seemed to have expected your suspicion, because he doesn’t miss a beat when he answers, “I get the same as you—an outlet for stress relief. Let me take care of you, pretty girl.”
The way he purrs his chosen pet-name for you sends a shiver running down your spine. You try to hide the way your thighs press together. The prospect of having sex with Sampo… it’s not entirely a notion you’d reject. Objectively, he’s fine as hell, with pretty green eyes and a slim waist, powerful shoulders and a broad back you think you’d like to rake your nails down. You bite your lip.
Okay, sure. Why the fuck not? Regardless of whether or not there was alcohol currently addling your brain, there’s no way you lose in this situation. Unless…
You hold up a hand. “Alright. I have a couple conditions though.”
Sampo nods, and his silence is enough to have you plowing forward with your thoughts. “No strings attached. I don’t want feelings involved. This is purely physical. And…” You purse your lips, searching for the words you wanted to say. After a moment you add quickly, “no kissing. That’s far too intimate, I think.”
“Fair enough,” he muses. “Any other lines you’d like to draw?”
He agreed to that almost immediately—while that should please you, it instead leaves a sick feeling swirling in your stomach and you’re not quite sure why. You chalk it up to the alcohol you had very intelligently decided to chug, and you lean against the bar as you ponder his question.
“No, I think that’s it.” You finally respond. Sampo briefly reaches out his hand for a handshake, but thinks better of it and retracts his hand quickly in favor of rising from the barstool he was perched on.
He grins down at you and holds out that hand again, this time in offering to you. “Shall we?”
“Ah—this starts tonight, then?”
“When else would it, doll? I’ve been thinking about this for awhile. Only you can help me scratch this itch.” He winks at you. You roll your eyes, but accept his hand anyways, gracefully coming to your feet.
Despite yourself, you feel your face warm as the two of you stare at each other, neither of you making the first move. You shouldn’t be embarrassed—this was Sampo, of all people—but here you were, suddenly shy. You glance away quickly, but after drawing up a bit of courage you chance a peek up at Sampo and find that there’s a pretty pink flush dusting over his cheeks. It makes you feel a sense of satisfaction. You weren’t the only one flustered here.
Sampo rubs the back of his neck, then he ventures, “so… would my place be okay?”
You stifle a giggle at how awkwardly he asks, deciding to spare him the pain of silence as you immediately nod your head. “Okay, sounds good. Let’s go.”
Tumblr media
Sampo’s place is… neater than you thought it would be.
Actually, you don’t really know what you were expecting. It wasn’t necessarily a shithole in the slums you were imagining, but… ah, it didn’t matter.
It’s sparsely decorated, just a few trinkets here and there scattered amongst the comfy furniture adorning the living space. You pause in the doorway as you take it all in. You thought he would be more… of the hoarding sort. Guess Sampo is full of surprises tonight.
Which, speaking of Sampo:
“Well? I won’t bite doll, promise—I mean, unless you want me to.”
Sampo wiggles his eyebrows suggestively, earning a swift kick to his shins as you take another step in. He lets out a dramatic ‘oof,’ which draws a giggle from you, to his delight.
“We’ll see,” is all you say as you close and lock the door behind you.
It’s awkward as the two of you navigate through his home, much to your chagrin, but you were completely unsure of how to proceed. All you really knew was the exact reason you were here, the thought sending your heart beating a mile a minute as you focus on keeping your breathing steady.
You were positive Sampo knew how much of a mess you felt like right now though, because he startles you with a gentle hand on your shoulder. “I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do, okay pretty girl? You just let me know if it’s ever too much.”
Your lip quivers as you look up at him. His face softens even more at the anxiety you finally let shine through when you whisper, “Okay.”
The hand resting on your shoulder drifts down to the small of your back, ghosting gently along your spine as he takes on guiding you to his room, maneuvering you to the foot of his bed where you hesitantly take a seat.
He hums thoughtfully as he searches for the words he wants to say. Another moment passes, then suddenly—“Do you trust me?”
You blink owlishly. Then, you nod your head.
“I need to hear a verbal confirmation, dollface.”
The dominance in his tone has your back straightening—and much to your surprise, heat swirling in your core. You bite your lip. “I trust you, Sampo.”
“Good girl. You just let me take the reins, okay? All you gotta do is sit back and relax.”
You nod your head. Sampo takes a step towards you but only stares, his eyes narrowing in challenge. You quickly realize what he wants and you stammer out a quick ‘yes’ before he’s descending upon you, gently pushing your shoulders in a silent command to lay back against the mattress.
You’re pliant to his whims, lying back against the plush bedding as he leans over you, breath ghosting over your face as if he’s about to kiss you—then he’s remembering your request, inching lower to press his lips to the smooth column of your neck. He draws out a soft moan from you as you feel his tongue dip against your skin, the scrape of his teeth as he drags his mouth lower, towards your collarbone.
“Your skin tastes divine, sweetheart. I wonder how much better it is down here.”
His sinful words are accompanied by a roll of his hips against your center, eliciting a gasp from you at the sudden friction. You squirm, hands coming up to clutch his shoulders as he smirks down at you.
You meet his smug gaze with narrowed eyes. Two could play at this game. You roll your hips back up against his, achingly slow, savoring the way Sampo’s eyelids flutter shut as he presses back against you.
“Don’t tease me,” you breathe. “Or I’ll do it right back.”
Sampo’s lips curl up in a smile, a pure predator looking down at you. “Yeah?”
You nod your head, eyebrows furrowing with displeasure as you meet his heated stare. It takes everything in you not to grind up against him again—desperate for any sort of friction. Sampo’s smile only widens.
“Alright, alright, I get the message. I won’t torment you for too long, okay? Sampo’ll take good care of ya.”
You make a feeble attempt at kicking him, but he’s quicker than you, pinning your legs with his strong thighs—you can see the muscles flex under the fabric of his pants at the effort. You can’t help the way your mouth drops open a fraction.
Okay, maybe you were attracted to Sampo. When he kept his mouth shut.
“Don’t refer to yourself in third person, you freak.”
“Or what?” Sampo leans closer to you, face to face. His warm breath mingles with yours—and he’s close to you, so close, leaning and leaning and—
He’s got you distracted as a hand slips under the fabric of your shirt, slithering up your stomach until he reaches what he was aiming for. He palms the soft flesh of your tit and you moan, glowering up at him as he smirks in response.
“Pay attention, pretty. Don’t want you to miss a single thing.”
You glare up at him as he smiles prettily down at you, the portrait of innocence—well, as innocent as he can be with the lust-drunk gaze he drags over your body as he slowly pushes up your shirt with another hand. With a little bit of maneuvering he pulls the fabric off of you, leaving you in your bra and the miniskirt you opted to wear out to see him.
Sampo bites his lip, running his hand over the curves of your body. Then he’s peeling away your skirt as well, humming in satisfaction as you lift your hips for him, leaving goosebumps along the skin of your legs as his fingers brush against the sensitive flesh. You watch as he drops the fabric slowly, his sharp gaze roving slowly over your figure.
“Aeons, sweetheart. You look so good.” Sampo hisses quietly as he palms at the bulge in his pants. Your eyes immediately catch on the movement.
He’s hard. And from what little you can glean, he’s big, too. You swallow.
Sampo’s smile grows feline. “What’re you lookin’ at, pretty girl?”
You shake your head. Sampo tuts quietly, but doesn’t push—not yet.
Sampo pulls off his shirt in a swift movement. Unbuckles his belt with one hand. You sit up on your elbows—not just to watch him strip unobstructed, you tell yourself—as you take in the view of Sampo, of his broad shoulders and strong biceps, the smooth skin of his chest, down his abs, and… is that a happy trail? It most certainly is. You really hope you’re not drooling.
“Now, don’t get shy on me now. It’s far too late for that.” You hear Sampo chuckle darkly. “C’mon, you can be honest. You like the view?” He asks with a tilt of his head.
You hesitate. It was going to come out one way or another, so you ultimately decide to be truthful with him and nod your head. His smile only widens.
“Good girl, bein’ honest. How about I reward you, huh?”
You don’t have time to ask questions; he doesn’t grant you any. He grasps your ankle and pulls you to the edge of the bed where he kneels, face level with the pretty lace underwear you adorn. You let out a squeak of surprise, your face heating with embarrassment as you realize just how vulnerable this position made you. His large hands grasp at your thighs, pushing them open as he hooks one of your legs over his shoulder.
“Hey—” you start with a gasp, eyes wide as you look down at him. He smiles coyly when he catches your gaze.
“You trust me, don’t ya? Just relax,” he purrs. His fingers trace the hemline of your panties, drawing a shiver from you. Biting your lip, you take his advice and lean back, watching him raptly as he kisses the inside of your thigh. You feel your chest tighten with desire.
“Pretty,” the pet-name rolls off his tongue smoothly, dripping with honey-sweet desire. “You’re already so soaked for me. Look at you.” His finger glides up your lace-covered slit. You let out a whimper in response.
He takes his time with you, holding you open with one hand as the other drifts up over your navel, around the hem of your panties, dipping under the elastic seam and snapping it back against your skin. He tugs at it gently, once, twice, then he’s pulling it down, leaving the fabric to dangle around the ankle hooked over his shoulder. He leans forward to press a kiss to the apex of your thighs.
“Sampo…” You breathe out. You’re clutching at the sheets below you in a white-knuckled grip, your ribs expanding with the deep, shuddering inhale you take in as his eyes make contact with yours.
“You’re fucking dripping for me, baby,” he all but groans. “You’re so fucking pretty.”
You’re just about on the verge of begging for something, any kind of stimulation from him, when his eyes flick back down. He’s suddenly pressing his mouth to your cunt, tongue laving up your center. It feels like you’ve been electrified, nerves alight with white-hot pleasure; you nearly jump at the contact. His grip shifts to your hips, holding you down as he devours you like a man starved.
Your head tips back as you moan wantonly. It’s maddening and satisfying all at once—his tongue strokes at your clit, dips into you and drags back out slowly, teasingly. You look back down at him through the haze of pleasure, finding intense pools of emerald staring right back at you, drinking in your every reaction like it was the sweetest nectar.
“Sampo,” his name falls from your lips almost reverently. The effect it has on him is almost instantaneous—his grip tightens on you and he’s eating you out with a renewed fervor, bringing you ever closer to the brink. As you dangle dangerously on that precipice, you bring a hand down to twine through the soft locks of his navy hair, panting with the effort of prolonging the moment. Not yet. Not yet.
The groan he lets out when you tug on his hair makes your core tighten even more.
“Baby,” he rasps as he pulls away, warm breath fanning over your sensitive slit. The sight is filthy: there’s a thin trail of saliva still connecting you to him, your slick shining on his chin in the pale moonlight that filters in through the curtains. “You taste so fucking good.”
Your chest heaves as you reply breathlessly, “you feel so fucking good.”
“Yeah, baby?” He pauses, his head dipping slightly as he presses a gentle kiss to your clit. Your hips buck again, restrained by the hand that grips you tightly. “Do you want to feel even better?”
You nod your head, the word ‘yes’ falling from your lips in a desperate plea.
Sampo smiles, his free hand coming up slowly, so so slowly, his tongue darting out to coat his fingers in his saliva. His eyes never leave yours—no, he wanted you to watch this lewd display. Watch as his tongue runs over spit-slicked knuckles, watch as he lowered his hand to your aching pussy.
“Fuck,” you whine as he eases his fingers into you easily, crooking and prodding—searching. Looking for the spot that drives you crazy. A moan rips from your throat, head falling back as Sampo’s lips close around your clit, sucking and licking in tandem with his fingers that were working you just right.
When they curl in the most perfect way, you have to stop yourself from closing your legs around his head with a sharp inhale. You miss the way his eyes light up with a feral sort of excitement—knowing he’s found the spot that makes you come apart so perfectly. And he exploits that spot, again and again and again, making you delirious with the white-hot pleasure he inflicts upon you.
It’s not long before you’re shoved off the edge, freefalling into a world-shattering orgasm that has your back arching as you let out a sob of pleasure. Sampo laps lazily at you through your orgasm, making you jolt with the after-shocks as he drags his tongue over your now too-sensitive clit.
“Atta girl,” Sampo croons, withdrawing his fingers with a lewd squelch. You squirm as you feel the cool air hit your slick covered thighs. “That feel good?”
Dazed, you nod your head. You feel the heavy weight of Sampo hover over you, consuming your senses as his lips press against your neck. Sometime between him giving you perhaps one of the most intense orgasms you’ve ever had and now, he’s shucked off his pants, now clad only in his boxers. They’re stained with pre, you note with satisfaction, his cock straining against the fabric. You slip a hand down, trailing lower and lower until your fingers brush over his erection.
Sampo groans softly. The noise fills you with a tidal wave of desire; you find yourself wanting to hear what other noises you can draw out of him. You start to palm him gently, fingers caressing the impressive length of him through the thin cotton material. Sampo makes a low noise in his throat.
“Doll… you’re driving me crazy here.” Sampo utters, inhaling sharply when you squeeze.
“What’s wrong, Sampo? ‘m not doing anything.” You smile coyly as you continue to tease him.
His eyes glint with predatory intent, his hand shooting down to grab your wrist when he decides you’ve had enough fun toying with him.
Looks like his patience has run out. Not that he had that much to even begin with.
Sampo releases your wrist in favor of tugging his boxers down, his cock springing out and slapping obscenely against his abs. He’s… oh, Aeons, you weren’t even sure he would fit.
It’s like he can read the thought plain as day on your face because he purrs, “I’ll take it nice and easy, baby. Don’t worry your pretty little head about a thing.”
He nudges your legs open as he kneels between them, hands grasping your hips gently as he readjusts you. Your eyes widen as he spits in his hand and brings it down to pump himself—the lewd display makes your thighs clench.
Despite your apprehension, you couldn’t help the heady desperation that swirled in your core, the electrifying desire zipping through your veins—you wanted him. Bad.
“It’ll feel real good pretty girl, okay? All you have to do is trust me.” Sampo says soothingly. Then he’s pressing the blunt head of his cock against your slit, dragging it along your folds slowly, coating himself in the arousal dripping from you. The tip catches against your clit deliciously, making you whine softly. You needed more.
“If you don’t fuck me now,”—your breath hitches as he finally pushes in, barely breaching your drooling pussy—”I’ll go insane.”
“I gotcha, pretty. Just be patient.” Sampo holds your hips as he presses further into you. The stretch burns; but it’s the delicious kind of pain, the one that makes you want to beg for more.
He buries his head in the crook of your neck, his muffled groan vibrating against you. He’s trembling, you think—holding back the urge to just fuck you already. While you appreciate the thought, you think you might genuinely, actually, go insane if he doesn’t start fucking your brains out soon.
“Sampo,” you rasp, hips bucking slightly. “I can take it. Please, please—need it so bad.”
His hips twitch. One heartbeat passes—then two.
“Sampo.” You whine again. Your fingers clutch his shoulder blades, nails digging into the flesh none too gently.
He breathes in deeply. The only warning you get is him readjusting his grip; he snaps his hips, thrusting all the way in. It tears a moan from your throat, walls pulsing around his girth as he bottoms out, balls slapping lewdly against the plushness of your ass. You’re both groaning, your nails digging even harder into him as he pulls out slowly, then snaps his hips again, starting a crude rhythm that drains all sense from your head.
All you can manage is a heady moan of his name, the pleasure threatening to pull you under like the strong current of a riptide. You could almost drown in it.
“So good,” you babble, chest bouncing with every thrust into you. It rips the air from your lungs, lighting a fire inside of you, on the brink of burning you from the inside out with the intensity of just how fucking good he’s making you feel.
His skin is slick with sweat, pressing and sliding against your own as he pounds you mercilessly into the soft bed beneath you. He lifts his head, his eyes meeting yours, wild and alight with desire.
“Takin’ me so well,” Sampo groans, hips stuttering as you clamp around him involuntarily. “You feel so fuckin’ good.”
A sob falls from your lips as he slows to a tortuous grind, dragging his cock along your pulsing walls. You feel your core tightening, aching, begging for more, more, more.
“I’ll give you more, pretty girl, don’t you worry,” Sampo replies. You didn’t think you had said it out loud, but he doesn’t give you any time to think about it because he’s grabbing the backs of your knees and pressing them back against your chest.
The new position has stars swimming in your vision as he pistons into you, the vulgar sound of skin slapping against skin echoing in your ear as he all but folds you in half. You think you might really die. Your head is spinning. You can’t even form a coherent thought anymore—you’re quite literally filled to the brim with Sampo. You don’t think you ever want it to stop.
You feel tears prick your eyes as you’re overwhelmed with the molten pleasure coursing through your veins. He’s fucking you relentlessly, even through the orgasm that hits you like a freight-train, so sudden that you damn near pass out.
“Fuck yeah—cum for me, pretty. You’re doing so fucking well.”
You feel Sampo throb inside you—he’s close, too, and you want him tumbling into oblivion with you—so you clench around him, walls still fluttering with the orgasm he’s fucking you through. He hisses, teeth gnashing together as he stifles his groan, pace growing unsteady and snappier until he’s suddenly pulling out, painting your burning skin with ropes of cum. It’s sticky, dripping in rivulets down your skin, but you can’t find it in you to be grossed out.
In fact, you think it’s a little hot.
He curses lowly, hips still twitching in the aftermath of his own climax. “Fuck, doll…” He pants. “Let me get you a towel.”
Tumblr media
That was almost a year ago, you think. Heat creeps up your face at the memory of your first escapade with him.
You’ve had this sort of arrangement with Sampo for awhile, where the two of you will link up, fuck, and then go your separate ways, as simple as that. Sometimes it’s more planned, and you’ll end up in his bed for an hour or two, but other times, most times, it ends with your back against a brick wall in a desolate alley, or perhaps inside the nearest closet the two of you can find.
But lately, it’s been the former. He’s even been dining you beforehand, treating you to a nice meal before he fucks your brains out. And while you appreciate the sentiment, it’s been.. throwing you off, to put it simply.
You’re not quite sure what this means for the two of you. Maybe you can choose to ignore this development in this precarious relationship the two of you shared, always teetering on that fine line between lust and something that felt suspiciously like love.
Problem is… you’re not quite sure if you even wanted to ignore it.
You’re shaken from your thoughts when you hear the shower running, and the cold slams into you with a fierceness you’re completely unprepared for. Teeth clattering together as you shiver, you grab for the nearest blanket (you end up needing to grab the duvet—Sampo never kept extra blankets on the bed) and bundle yourself up. Once you feel warm enough, you roll out of the comfort of his bed, your feet padding softly on the carpet as you make your way to the bathroom. You find Sampo in there in all of his naked glory, who turns his head as he hears the quiet hiss of the blanket dragging against the floor.
He offers you a kind smile, completely unfazed as your eyes rove over him, none too discreetly. He says, “I thought I’d start the shower for you. Get it warmed up.”
You tilt your head to the side. “That’s okay, I can just shower when I get home…” Your voice trails off as you catch a glimpse of the city outside from the nearby window—the ground is blanketed in a sheet of white, and you can barely see a few feet away from the glass against the flurry of snow outside. You blink once, twice, and then look at Sampo again.
“Ah, about that…” Sampo rubs the back of his neck. “It’s pretty cold out. How about you stay the night with me? Won’t cost any extra to ya.” He winks at you. His feet are silent on the cool tiled floor as he slowly approaches you. “I’ll even sleep on the couch, if that’ll make you feel better about it.”
Despite the… close relationship you shared, you had never actually stayed the full night at Sampo’s. Maybe you’d linger an hour or two, but it had always ended in you making it home, slipping into the comfort of your own bed. This would be the first time sleeping in his. You feel your heart stutter as the thought runs through your mind.
Then you’re shaking your head at his offer—or more specifically, the latter part of it. “No, no, that’s not necessary. I’ll stay, but we can share the bed. We’ve been tangled up in it more than enough to manage just sleeping together in it.” You wryly smile at him. “Thank you, Sampo. I appreciate it.”
You’re slightly astonished at the blush that rises to his cheeks in response to your words. The sight makes warmth bloom in your chest and your heart skips a beat. It reminds you of the first time you had seen him blush, way back when you met him at the bar for that fateful conversation.
The warmth in your chest quickly freezes over as you remember the words exchanged right before that—the stupid rules that you had put in place yourself.
Because, you remember bitterly, this was supposed to be completely and utterly no strings attached. There was no room for the butterflies in your stomach, nor the way your breath hitches when he brushes a hand over your bare shoulder as he slowly slips the duvet from around you.
“Go on, shower first. I’ll be waiting out here for you.” Sampo smirks down at you. “Maybe we’ll go for round two, if you’re up for it.”
With a playful swat at his shoulder, you quickly herd him out of the bathroom. “Horny bastard. We’ll see.”
“It’s up to you, sweetheart. I’ll see you on the other side.”
You can see him blow you a kiss as you shut the door, sliding the lock into place. You clutch your chest. You let your careful mask fall; as you turn to the mirror, you see something akin to desperation on your face shimmering in the reflection.
Maybe you’re in deep shit. Maybe you’ve been falling for awhile now, and you’ve been so stuck in your own head that it took until this very moment to truly grasp your own reality:
You have feelings for Sampo Koski.
With that realization swirling in your head, when you step into the shower, you quickly turn the temperature to cold.
Tumblr media
When you emerge from the bathroom, wrapped only in a plush gray towel, you catch Sampo’s gaze from the bedroom almost immediately. You hold up a hand.
“Nuh-uh, no round two.” You simply say. He pouts for only a moment, quickly recovering and rolling out of bed. He immediately slinks up to you with folded clothes in hand.
“Hey now, I wasn’t gonna ask for anything! Here—these are for you to sleep in.” Sampo holds out the folded shirt and sweats. You accept it with a small thank you, and turn back for the bathroom to change.
There was something strangely intimate about putting on his clothes in front of him, so you quietly escape back to the bathroom. There’s no snarky retort or even any comment at all from Sampo, even as you shut the door, so you quickly slip on the clothes he gave you. You’d have to make do with going home in the snow tomorrow in the clothes you wore here, you think. Good thing you opted for your jeans instead of that skirt you wanted to wear.
Distracted, you glance up at the bathroom mirror and startle at the sight.
The sight of you in his shirt makes your stomach flip. His scent curls around you, musky and deep, and for some reason you feel… comforted. Almost like he was embracing you himself. You grip the bathroom counter with your free hand, white-knuckled. You wouldn’t think too hard about what, exactly, this feeling meant. No, you refused to. You would spiral down a dangerous train of thought otherwise; you couldn’t afford to do that when you’re about to sleep in the same bed as Sampo.
You could think about it tomorrow. Or perhaps the day after that. Or maybe even… never. You were happy to stay stagnant in this little bubble that contained you and him, where you weren’t really just friends anymore but you weren’t quite lovers, either. You were content to never let it change.
A knock on the door makes you jump.
“You okay in there, pretty girl? You’ve been in there for awhile.”
His muffled voice held a note of concern that makes your chest tighten. You feel your breath hitch.
“Yeah, uhm—sorry, just give me one more second, promise I’ll stop hogging the bathroom…”
“Take your time. Just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
You hear his footsteps leave and you let out a breath. You could handle this. There was nothing romantic at all about just… sleeping. You would go to bed, then you would wake up and be on your way, and things will return back to the way they should be.
Surely.
With that thought, you slowly creep your way back to the bedroom, where you find Sampo nestled up in his bed already. You catch yourself smiling a little bit.
“Sampo, leave some blanket for me, you pig.”
You hear him snort quietly as you slide into bed beside him. There’s ample room in his bed, and as you curl up on your side, tucking yourself under the plush duvet, you hear him mumble quietly, “Goodnight, pretty girl. Sleep well.”
“Goodnight, Sampo.”
Tumblr media
You cannot, for the life of you, fucking sleep.
It’s hard to, when right at your back there’s a warm mass slumbering—and even though you count every breath he takes like counting sheep, you’re still wide awake. It felt like your thoughts were running a thousand miles a minute.
You’re going to lose your mind at this rate.
Turning onto your back, you stare at the blank ceiling, pushing the blanket down to your midsection as you once again make a fruitless attempt at falling asleep. You know it’s futile to even try, with your heart racing in that familiar way that it did when you were tangled up with Sampo, but fuck, all you wanted to do was sleep.
Rustling makes you freeze.
And then you hear him shifting—when you turn your head to look at him, you catch pools of deep jade green staring back at you. Sampo groggily smiles at you. “Hey.”
You start, clutching the blanket as if it were some kind of shield. He snorts as he observes you.
“Sampo… why’re you awake?”
“I could ask you the same thing.” He replies, followed quickly by a yawn. You feel the urge to yawn tickle at the back of your throat before you’re following suite, bringing up a hand to cover your face.
Sampo chuckles. “You’re not sleepy, pretty? Need Sampo to tire you out real quick?”
You glower at his simpering smile, hitting his shoulder with no real force behind it. “No. I’m okay, I just… never really have an easy time sleeping anywhere that isn’t my own bed.”
He hums in understanding. Then he’s mirroring you, shifting to lie on his back, but instead he stares at the ceiling. Your eyes linger on him a little bit longer before you’re looking up too.
“What’s on your mind?” He asks softly.
You say after a moment of consideration, “I can’t tell you that.”
Sampo doesn’t miss a beat. “Why not?”
You shake your head, the movement hissing against the soft fabric of the pillowcase beneath you. “It’s… personal.”
Sampo snorts again. “I thought we were way past personal boundaries by now.”
Physically, yes, but… emotionally? You don’t voice the thought out loud. Instead you reply, “We are, yes, but um… I dunno.”
Silence. It lingers between you, not entirely uncomfortable, but it’s… tense. You glance back over at Sampo again.
His gaze flicks over to you.
“Do you trust me?”
The phrase lights up a moment of recognition within you—a phrase he’s uttered so many times; as he guides you, tugs you along with his whims, while he takes you—
Your throat bobs as you swallow. Your answer has never changed. “Yes.”
The sheets are rustling. Then, strong arms pull you towards a broad chest, wrapping you in their embrace; you’re responding immediately, lips parting in a silent gasp. Your brain is slower than your heart—you’re curling up against the warmth of him despite your better judgement. You feel the vibrations of his quiet chuckle reverberate through him, through you, echoing deep in your bones as you start to laugh with him.
“If you don’t want to talk, I understand,” Sampo breathes, lips brushing against the crown of your head. “But at least let me hold you. Let me offer you something to take your mind off of things. I want you to get some rest.”
Your hand rests against his pec—he slept shirtless, oh fuck—as you nestle closer to him, legs intertwining with his. You’re tangled together with him again, but this time it’s in a quiet way. Innocent. You find that you don’t mind this.
He doesn’t either, if the way he holds you closer is any indication. He has a strong arm looped around your waist, the other having snaked it’s way under your head, and you think that his bicep doesn’t make too bad of a pillow. It draws a smile to your lips.
“Okay,” you whisper. “I’ll try.”
Curled up in the warmth of Sampo, you finally drift.

Webcomic rings run by people within the community are cool and you should support them
I've been loudly struggling a little bit with corporate webcomic Stuff lately so I want to mention something positive to balance it out: webrings run by small groups of creators earnestly trying to support each other are slowly making a comeback and I for one am delighted.
If you weren't around for them in the before times, webrings were just some folks who hang out a lot who feature each other on their websites. That's literally it lmao. There's generally no money involved and it only really functions the way it's supposed to if people have control over their own websites AND genuinely want to participate and get excited about other folks' work, which means the practice has pretty well fallen by the wayside over the years in webcomic culture given. Everything. In the rare event someone decides to do something like this it's usually in the form of a link list somewhere on their website; this doesn't usually indicate any sort of mutual support, it's just a list of what the creator is reading themselves.
A webring, though, is an official banner or hub that people gather under intentionally where each member is more or less on equal footing. It's essentially the concept of "a rising tide lifts all boats" put into practice, each creator brings their own audience to the table in a passive, opt-in sort of way that's different from working for a publisher since there isn't necessarily a Top Spot or a paycheck everyone's vying for, and individuals retain autonomy over both their own work and how (if) they promote each other. You're all at your own tables in an artist alley rather than fighting over the table in the front of the book store, essentially.
I have two rings and one collective for you today!
Tumblr media
Webcomic Ring was brought to my attention AGES ago by Holly, one of the artists featured there, and I might have brought it up at some point but I'm doing it again lmao. This is exactly the kind of thing you ought to be looking for; a small group of enthusiastic folks having a good time making their weird little comics. You probably haven't heard of much in the catalog, that's PERFECT in the context of webcomics that's where the GOOD SHIT is. Finding something like this is A Gift go dig around in the longboxes for a while.
Tumblr media
Then a few people have pointed me in the direction of the KNIFEBEETLE collective and that's neat too! Most of the comics there are already fairly well-known, but the vibes are excellent and I haven't seen a lot of talk about the collective /itself/ outside folks already in the know. I think it's important for this sort of thing to be more visible to folks who aren't terminally steeped in webcomic culture already so here I am telling you about it. You were probably reading several of these before I suggested it, but that's how a webring works! For it to do its job you should take those bigger creators' tacit recommendation of the less popular titles as a sign to go read something new and strange. Wild, I know these are practices held over from the old internet, but I think we should try and bring them back.
Lastly, I want to mention Spiderforest, which is a collective (slightly different from a webring) BUT still a very cool project readers starved for new stuff should pay attention to.
Tumblr media
You've probably seen Spiderforest kicking around for a long time already; they're wonderful and have always been an overall positive force in the community in my experience. They really focus on building up a community, and especially welcoming newcomers and helping them get their feet under them. Full disclosure, I've been asked to apply by a few different folks over the years and the only reason I never did is I don't have the ability to participate in their forums and such as frequently as they want their creators to; it's a very good system (from my outside perspective) that might contribute to the community staying mostly healthy in ways that art communities usually don't and I appreciate it a lot!
ANYWAYS that's all I got for now, just trying to balance out some bad feelings I've been having by talking about some good stuff. Please go binge an archive this week.

Tumblr media
Things were always peaceful between the two of you, he was a caring and faithful husband, you had no reason to doubt him or anything similar to that.
However, after Bi Han's betrayal with the Lin Kuei, Kuai Liang needed the help of third parties to form another clan, and this clan was the 'shiray ryu' in honor of the woman who helped him, Harumi - and also the name of the whole the problem in marriage you - you were insecure and he lost his patience, tired of saying that they had nothing, and they really didn't, he was married to you. It was at a dinner that he arrived later with Harumi that you lost your temper, having a fight with Kuai Liang, his stress and concern for the clan made him simply say cruel things to you without him even realizing it.
He only noticed when you slapped him in the face and left the house crying, he hated himself at that moment. You went out into the forest, crying and with sore feet, but you soon felt the cryromancer's ropes around your body, pinning you to the ground. "-Fuck (Y/N) never run like that again, damn, did you get hurt?" He speaks worriedly and a little rudely, still under the influence of anger, but genuinely worried, while carrying you on his shoulders easily - you even tried to try to free yourself from the ropes, but you couldn't - Kuai soon arrived at your house, throwing you on top out of bed and locking all the doors so you don't run away again.
While you were trapped by his ropes, Kuai Liang stood in front of you with a pained expression on his face. He looked tired and exhausted, he took a deep breath and tried to calm down."-We've been through so many things together, we've faced countless enemies and situations that should have separated us, but we survived them all. Why do we let something like Harumi come between us now? Out of jealousy?" He asked, looking at you intently. You didn't respond immediately, just looking at him, tears in your eyes. Kuai Liang continued, trying to explain his feelings.
"-I'm sorry, I don't want to hurt you anymore. Please understand that Harumi means nothing to me, she never did anything wrong, she only helped us when Shiray Ryu was in childhood, our feelings for her have always remained platonic. She's like a sister to me, I would never betray her trust or our marriage." You didn't want to listen, trying to insult him and telling him to take those ropes off you, however, seeing you vulnerable, angry and exposed made him feel guilty, but also excited. He couldn't help it.
"-No, I'm not letting you go yet. Not until we talk about this." He said firmly as he ran his fingers through your hair, you could see the conflict in his eyes, torn between his duty as a ninja and his love for you, he was a man full of flaws, but he would never betray you. Without warning, Kuai Liang bent down and gently kissed your forehead, trying to calm you down. "-I promise, tonight we will make up for everything that happened, just trust me." He whispered softly in your ear, as he used the sharp kunai to tear the fabric of your clothes, exposing your body completely to him.
His lips slowly moved from your forehead to your cheek and then to your neck, sending shivers down your spine. As he continued kissing you, his hand began to move down, passing over your breast and then down towards your pussy. You moaned softly at his touch, still upset about recent events. Kuai Liang smiled slightly at your reaction before continuing his seduction. He ran his fingers through your slit, teasing your clit and making you moan louder. "-You look so fucking gorgeous now, you know that?"
He couldn't resist the temptation any longer.
With one swift motion, he pulled the strings on your body, opening your thighs and burying himself in your pussy, his tongue flicking out to lap up your juices. "-I want you..." he growled, "-I need you." His tongue continued its relentless assault on your clit, causing waves of pleasure to ripple through your body, the ropes hurting you slightly, leaving large linear red marks. "-My husband is a little slut don't you?" With a satisfied grin, Kuai Liang slid two fingers inside you, finger-fucking you roughly while continuing to suck on your clit. You moaned loudly, arching your back and thrusting against his hand. Kuai Liang added another finger, stretching you wide and pushing your little hole.
You tried to maintain your posture, saying that you hated him, even if it was a lie - and you both knew it - the ninja soon removed his fingers from you and pulled down his pants, exposing his fat, pulsing cock, leaking a thin layer of pre-semen from the tip. reddish, while he positioned himself between your thighs, rubbing the tip of his dick on your clit. "-You don't hate me baby. You just feel insecure because of Harumi. But I swear to you, she means nothing to me. All I want is you." He whispered hoarsely into your ear. Your body shook with pleasure as he continued to rub his dick against your clit, your moans filling the room. "-You know you love me..." He slid the pulsate shaft as he led you in front of the large mirror in your room, while using his right arm to hold you around your waist and the other around your neck. He pulled your hair hard, forcing you to look in the mirror "-Look at you baby... See the way my cock slides in and out of your tight pussy. That's what I see when I look at you, baby. Nothing but pure desire and love." Your body responded to his words, his dick sliding against your sensitive walls, causing you to moan louder and clutch at the ropes binding you.
"-You're a beautiful man, wrapped up in the arms of your loving husband. And I want to remind you of that every chance I get... You're my little whore, aren't you? My precious, perfect husband. And look that beautiful pussy, so wet and ready for me." His words were like poison to your ears, but they also had a strange effect on you. As he continued to fuck you, you couldn't help but feel a sense of validation. Your insecurity melted away, replaced by a newfound confidence.
You no longer saw Harumi as a threat; instead, you saw her as just another person in Kuai Liang's life. You knew that he belonged to you, and nobody else. He didn't let you look away from the reflection-scorpion wanted to show you how beautiful you were, how desirable you were to him - he praised you so much, every part of him, your favorite nicknames - "darling" "baby" "sweetheart" "my pretty little thing" "my pretty slut" - with every word he growled, his dick came in and out of you, as you trembled in the heat of his member. With one final thrust, Kuai Liang let out a primal roar as he came inside you, filling you with his hot cum. You could feel his cock pulsing inside you, sending waves of pleasure through your body. "-That's right, take my cum, you little whore." He growled, looking into your eyes in the mirror. As he collapsed onto you, spent and satisfied, he kissed you softly, his lips brushing against yours in a tender gesture of devotion.
"-Never doubt yourself again, I love you more than anything, I swear, on my ninja honor, and on my soul."

Christmas in Jackson was a cheerful time. Allowing its residents some rest and peace in between the daily reminders of survival in a world overgrown by fungus.
There was a tree – a beautiful, tall fir – which they had felled in the surrounding woods and placed in the small town square, lit up with bright, colourful lights and hundreds of handmade decorations from the residents. Mostly made by children, as they learned to work with wood, just small figures like hearts and stars.
The houses and shops were decorated with just as much colour, lighting up everything around them.
And, Jackson even had its very own Santa.
Clad in all red, slightly yellowed fur trims on the sleeves of the shirt, the brim of the hat and on the hems of the pants. A nice, gray beard, and even a hint of Santa’s iconic, large belly.
Joel hadn’t really wanted to do it at first, eyeing the costume they had found on one of their runs with slight concern before he eventually relented. But only after Tommy had nagged at him a bit and Joel’s girl had sweet talked him into it.
The kids went wild for him, screaming and laughing when he walked down the streets, waving at them and laughing back. That really was when he had started to like it, seeing their eyes shine, prodding at the heavy sack slung over his shoulder – as well as his tummy.
To be honest, he had missed this a little, and it reminded him of how much Sarah loved to go down to the mall to tell Santa her Christmas wishes. Back when she was younger. He could still see her perched on Santa’s knee, the widest smile on her face as someone took their photo.
Now, it was him who had the kids whispering their wishes into his ear, just to squeal in delight when he pulled the requested toy or book from the brown sack next to him. A genuine smile on his face when one kid hopped off so the next could hop on.
It made her happy, too. Seeing the old man happy and laughing like this after he had grumbled about not really wanting to do it.
And to be honest, he looked good like this. It had been a fight to keep her hands off of him when he first tried on the costume. The longer beard he had grown out just for this suited him well, too, her mind wandering to how it would feel on the inside of her thighs.
And that belly.
She had teased him about it, asked if he had grown it just for this as well, something he answered with a grumpy look, the corners of his mouth lifting just slightly.
But she loved it, loved him a little bigger and so soft and warm.
All in all, Joel was just unbelievably hot. Even when dressed as Santa.
Especially when dressed as Santa.
So when she had to leave the event early to get dinner going while he stayed behind, she really couldn’t stop thinking about him. About him and that stupid but hot costume, wanting to sit on his lap and having him give her a very special gift as well.
One that only he could give her.
So when he finally came home over an hour later, she quickly made her way out of the kitchen and to the front door, catching him as he wanted to take off his hat.
“Leave it on.” She mumbled against his lips as her arms wrapped around his neck. His beard scratched against her skin and she could feel his arms encircle her waist. “There’s someone else who wants to sit on Santa’s lap.”
The low hum he let out quickly turned into a groan, his broad hands squeezing at her sides and hungrily kissing her back. He still found her love for this costume ridiculous, but Joel couldn’t deny that this whole thing was really hot.
“Wanna lay over Santa’s knee instead?” Joel asked, pushing her back into the living room, towards his favourite armchair.
She laughed, shaking her head when she parted from him for a moment.
“Mhmmm, no. I want to tell Santa my wish, too.”
His eyebrows shot up, a wide grin on his face that made the corners of his eyes crinkle. Now that certainly was something.
Sitting down on the chair, he pulled her down onto his leg by her waist, spreading his legs wide. His cock was already pressing uncomfortably against the fabric of these stupid pants, excited about what she wanted to do.
Right back in his role, his gloved hands dipping beneath the hem of her turtleneck and grabbing her waist. All while she looked at him as innocently as she could, biting her bottom lip.
“Now, tell Santa,” Joel said, his voice dropping a few octaves, “have you been a good girl this year?”
She giggled, nodding her head. Oh, this was already better than what she could have imagined.
“Of course, Santa.” Her voice was sugary sweet when she replied. “I’m always a good girl.”
Joel chuckled, his grip tightening on her waist. His head flooded with images of her being anything but a good girl.
How dare she lie to Santa himself?
“Well, somebody told me that that’s a lie, angel.” He replied, his hands skirting higher over her sides, feeling the warmth of her through the gloves. “You’ve been a naughty girl, and naughty girls don’t get presents from Santa.”
Blood was already rushing in her ears, her eyes dropping down to the tent in his pants. She rubbed her thighs together, needing any kind of friction on her throbbing clit.
One of Joel’s large hands came out from beneath her top and smoothed over her thigh instead, dipping towards the inside before getting dangerously close to where she needed him the most. Hearing her breath hitch at the touch.
“But Santa, please.” She whined, putting on her best puppy eyes in an attempt to sway and convince him that she indee did deserve a present.
“Naughty girls get a very special something from Santa instead.” He whispered, his fingers finally pressing against her clothed pussy, making her moan. “‘Specially ones as naughty as you have been.”
Just rubbing back and forth, unable to feel if he found her clit through the thick gloves, but he was quite sure that he did with how she reacted to it.
“Do you want to know what that is?” He asked, growing impatient with how she whined and ground back into his fingers.
She nodded, biting her bottom lip. She desperately needed to know and she hoped they both were on the same page here.
“Yes, Santa. Please.”
A small growl escaped Joel when he made her stand up, with her back to him, then hooked his fingers into the waistband of the sweatpants she wore before pulling them down. Exposing her ass clad in a lacy thong to him.
When he pulled her back into his lap, his dick ground against her ass, her legs spreading over his own. Joel held her by the hips, his own rutting up into her and making him moan, too.
There was no way he could handle this for long, lifting his hips to shimmy down his pants so his cock was free, hard and rubbing through the wetness that seeped through her underwear. Sliding it back and forth, hearing her soft moans whenever he nudged against her clit through the lace.
“You like what Santa got you?”
She hummed with a frenzied nod, her body so hot compared to the icy coldness outside. Her eyes were glued to his cock, watching the head become shinier with every rock of his hips - fat and angry and just waiting to be swallowed up by her greedy pussy.
“I love it, Santa, oh-” Biting her lip, she watched Joel take off his dark gloves, revealing his tanned, broad hands, the veins on the backs of them protruding. They moved to her panties, his fingers hooking into the lace and pulling them to the side.
Allowing his cock to slide against her bare pussy without any barriers.
This was an even better image, the head vanishing and coming back into view, nudging against her clit and making her squirm in his lap.
“All special, only for the naughtiest girls.” Joel chuckled, his breath hitching in his throat. She felt so nice and wet and he wasn’t even inside of that dripping pussy yet. He could come just like this, sliding through her folds, the image of it so lewd.
But the way she stared at it was almost lewder – wide, dark eyes, looking like she was about to jump off his lap and drop to her knees instead. He swore he could see a trickle of drool on one corner of those pretty lips, glistening in the light.
She couldn’t wait to have it inside of her, to feel the thick length of him spread her pussy open. As much as she liked the view of him like this, she reached for his cock with one hand, raising her hips as much as she could. Prodding against her entrance but not pushing in, she just felt the thick head resting there.
Joel’s chuckle vibrated against her back before she could hear it fall from his mouth, almost sounding like Santa himself – causing a new gush of wetness to release on him.
Fucking Santa on his lap hadn’t been something she thought to turn her on.
“You really are a naughty girl.” He said, close to her ear and shifting his hips. Just lightly feeding her the swollen tip, relishing in the sweet mewls she let out. “Looks like Santa has to punish you, hm?”
She barely listened, so focused on the feeling of him splitting her open as she slowly sank down on his hard cock. Feeling inch by inch enter her, until she was back in his lap again, one of his broad hands holding her hip while the other went to find her nipple beneath her shirt.
“So big, so big, fuck-” Her voice was small, her eyes still focused on where his cock was vanishing inside of her. Feeling impatient as he just kept her there and whining when he pinched her nipple. “Santa, please.”
His hips rocked up into her at the name. It was lewd, naughty, to have her call him Santa. But Joel couldn’t deny that it was fucking hot, too.
“You like Santa’s very special gift for naughty girls?” He asked, thrusting up into her again, his hand on her hip aiding her as she carefully began to move in his lap. Still teasing her nipple, pinching and twisting the little nub in between his thumb and pointer finger.
“Mhmm, yes, I love Santa’s gift.” She moaned, feeling the unbearable need to strip out of her clothes entirely, feeling the heat of his body against hers while her veins were on fire. “‘M gonna be a naughty girl every year, Santa.”
Joel chuckled, the sound strangled by the moan that creeped up his throat when her pussy gripped him tight. Obviously she was enjoying this whole game as much as he did, if not more.
Slowly he rocked up into her faster, watching her face contort in pleasure. But she never took her eyes off of his cock, watching her juices run down the length, frothing with each thrust.
“You already are the naughtiest.” Joel rasped, feeling his balls twitch as her pussy contracted around his cock again. Her moans and mewls became higher in pitch and she seemed to have trouble keeping up the rhythm she had set to match his. “Bouncing on Santa’s lap, creamin’ all over him.”
He accentuated his words with another pinch of her nipple, her back arching deliciously into his touch.
But soon he took away his hand from her breasts to rest on her other hip, helping to lift and slam her down onto his cock over and over as her movements became more erratic.
“Santa has even more gifts for you.” He teased, dancing dangerously close on the edge of his orgasm.
“Yes, yes yes.” She breathed out, whining. The slap of skin on skin echoed through the room, only spurring her on more as she watched him bury himself inside of her aching pussy again and again. “Please, Santa- Give it to me, give it all to me!”
Joel chuckled, his mouth attaching to the skin below her ear and biting down. His hands pushed her down hard just as his hips rocked up – pushing her over the edge she had been dancing on as well.
“Santa- Fuck!”
She gripped him like a vice, her hands finding his as her orgasm seared through her and Joel fucked her through it, his voice becoming darker.
“Like that, like that-” He mumbled, needing just a few more thrusts with how madly she was still pulsing around him. “Fucking naughty girl, strangling Santa’s cock- Oh, shit-”
Joel kept thrusting up as he spilled himself inside of her greedy pussy, filling her up as she writhed in his grip, her hips still erratic on top of him.
He couldn’t stop his cock from slipping out, a noise of protest leaving her which was quickly replaced with a moan as she watched the last few ropes of cum splash over her mound and the bottom of her shirt, the white in stark contrast to the dark fabric.
The view of his still swollen head gliding through her cum-covered pussy sent shivers through her as she came down from her high, hearing Joel’s heavy pants in her ear.
“Ain’t that better than coals in your stocking, darlin’?” He asked in between breaths, chuckling slightly. Watching the mess in between her legs, he couldn’t stop the small groan that creeped up his throat. “Gonna behave for next year?”
She giggled, finally tearing her gaze away from where his cock still rested in between her pussy lips to look at him instead.
“Mhm, I don’t know.” She said, a grin spreading on her face. This whole thing was exactly what she’d needed, and she would fight for him to keep that stupid costume. And for him to put it on again. “Is my present gonna be better than this?”
His warm hands smoothed over her thighs, the fingers slipping under the hem of her shirt as he moved up. Her eyes sparkled with mischief and he knew this wouldn’t be the only time this happened.
“We’ll see.” Joel said before leaning in and kissing her, hearing the soft hum vibrating in her chest. “But before next year… Maybe I have just a little something left in my sack for you.”
A laugh broke out of her, feeling herself clench around nothing as she thought of what else his sack contained for her.
And she would enjoy every second of it.

The ringing of my phone pulled me out of my reverie. Glancing at the screen, I saw it was my cousin, Sarah, calling. With a sigh, I answered, knowing exactly what the conversation would entail.
"Hey, Sarah," I greeted, trying to sound upbeat.
"Hey, Y/N! I was just finalizing the wedding arrangements and wanted to know if you're bringing a plus-one?" Her voice was filled with excitement.
The question wasn’t unexpected. My family, as loving and supportive as they were, had a knack for reminding me about my perpetual single status at every family gathering.
"Um, well…" I hesitated, trying to think of a polite way to say no without inviting further scrutiny.
Sarah, sensing my hesitation, quickly added, "You know, it doesn’t have to be serious. Just someone to keep you company and make the day more enjoyable."
I sighed, "I know, Sarah. It's just... I haven’t found the right person yet."
There was a pause on the other end. "Okay, I get it," she said softly. "But you know how the family is going to be, right? They’re going to ask questions, judge, and probably set you up with someone."
My heart sank at the thought. I loved my family dearly, but their constant nagging about my love life was exhausting.
"I know," I murmured.
Before the conversation could continue, a familiar voice interrupted from behind me. "Hey, Y/N, who's causing you grief now?"
I turned around to find Jack Hughes, my close friend since elementary shcool, standing in my living room with a concerned expression on his face. We had been through thick and thin together, always there for one another. He was the kind of guy who would drop everything to help a friend in need.
"Hey, Jack," I said, forcing a smile. "Just the usual family stuff, you know?"
He raised an eyebrow, sensing there was more to it. "Want to talk about it?"
I hesitated for a moment, debating whether or not to share my family drama with him. But then, recalling all the times he had been there for me, I decided to spill. "Sarah wants me to bring a date to her wedding. The family's been on my case about being single for so long, and I just don't want to deal with their judgment."
Jack chuckled lightly, "Well, I might have a solution for you."
I looked at him curiously. "Oh?"
"How about I be your date for the wedding?" he proposed, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
I stared at him, taken aback by the suggestion. "Are you serious?"
"Yeah, why not?" he shrugged. "We're already close friends, and it’s not like we haven’t pretended to be a couple before."
He wasn’t wrong. We had often joked about being the perfect fake couple, given our compatibility and understanding of each other. But this was different. This was my family, and the idea of introducing Jack as my boyfriend felt strange, yet oddly comforting.
"You’d do that for me?" I asked, my voice wavering slightly.
"Of course," he replied, his smile genuine. "Anything to save you from the family inquisition."
I couldn’t help but smile back at him. "Alright, deal."

The twinkling lights and festive decorations of the office Christmas party created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Colleagues mingled, laughing and sharing stories, while holiday music played softly in the background.
Jack and I had arrived together, opting to carpool to the event. As we entered the room, I spotted my overly curious coworker, Karen, who had a habit of prying into my personal life.
"Y/N! So glad you could make it. And who is this handsome gentleman?" Karen had asked, her eyes scanning Jack appreciatively.
Not wanting to delve into the intricacies of my love life with Karen, I turned to Jack and smiled. "Jack, this is Karen, my coworker. Karen, meet Jack, my… boyfriend."
Jack caught on quickly, wrapping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me close. "Nice to meet you, Karen," he said smoothly, flashing her a charming smile.
Karen’s eyes widened in surprise, clearly not expecting the revelation. "Nice to meet you too, Jack. Y/N, you never mentioned you had a boyfriend!"
I shrugged, trying to keep the act going. "Well, you know how it is. We’ve been keeping things low-key."
Jack played along, sharing playful glances and inside jokes throughout the evening. It was yet another successful performance, and by the end of the night, even Karen was convinced of our faux relationship.

The setting sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink as Jack and I drove towards the hotel where we would be staying for the weekend getaway. The atmosphere inside the car was relaxed, with soft music playing in the background and the gentle hum of the engine providing a comforting backdrop to our conversation.
As we approached the hotel, I felt a sudden wave of nervousness wash over me. Thoughts of the weekend ahead, sharing a room with Jack, and the realization of our growing feelings for each other made my heart race and palms sweaty.
Sensing my anxiety, Jack glanced over at me with concern. "You okay, Y/N? You seem a bit tense."
I tried to brush off his observation with a forced smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little nervous about the weekend, I guess."
Jack pulled the car into the hotel's driveway and parked the car. Turning to face me, he reached out to gently take my hand in his. "Hey, it's okay. We're in this together, remember?"
I looked into his eyes, finding comfort in their warmth and sincerity. "I know, Jack. It's just... this whole situation is new to me, and I don't want things to be awkward between us."
Jack squeezed my hand reassuringly. "Y/N, we've been friends for years, and we know each other better than anyone else. We can handle this. And if things get too uncomfortable, we'll figure it out together."
His words were comforting, and I felt my nerves begin to settle. Taking a deep breath, I nodded. "You're right. We can do this."
Jack smiled, releasing my hand and reaching for our bags in the backseat. "Let's go check in and start our weekend adventure."

As we walked towards the hotel entrance, I spotted my mom and my aunt, Sarah's mom, standing near the lobby. Their eyes widened in surprise as they watched us approach, clearly taken aback by our close proximity and seemingly intimate interaction.
My heart sank as I realized they had seen us walking in together. The nervousness I had felt earlier returned in full force, and I could feel my cheeks turning red with embarrassment.
Jack, sensing my discomfort, gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Stay calm, Y/N," he whispered, offering me a supportive smile.
Taking a deep breath, I tried to muster up some courage as we reached my mom and aunt. "Hey, Mom, Aunt Susan," I greeted, trying to sound as casual as possible.
My mom looked us up and down, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Y/N, Jack, what a surprise to see you two together. Are you...?"
Before she could finish her sentence, Jack stepped in smoothly, "Yes, we're together. We thought it was time to let everyone know about our relationship."
I looked at Jack in surprise, not expecting him to take the initiative and declare our faux relationship so convincingly. He winked at me, reassuring me that he had everything under control.
My aunt Susan looked shocked but quickly recovered, offering us a smile. "Well, that's wonderful news! We're happy for you both."
My mom seemed skeptical but nodded, choosing to reserve her judgment for later. "Alright, if you say so. Just make sure you take care of each other."
Jack nodded earnestly. "Of course, Mrs. Y/LN. Y/N means the world to me."
Feeling a mix of relief and gratitude, I thanked Jack silently for his quick thinking and support. As we said our goodbyes and headed towards the check-in counter, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for Jack’s unwavering support and our ability to navigate awkward situations with ease

After completing the check-in process, Jack and I made our way to our hotel room. As we entered the room and took a quick look around, we both realized something that had been overlooked in our haste to plan this getaway - there was only one bed.
We stood there for a moment, exchanging awkward glances, each of us processing the situation and unsure of how to address it.
Jack broke the silence, scratching the back of his neck nervously. "Uh, looks like there's been a little mix-up with the room arrangement."
I nodded, trying to maintain a calm demeanor despite the sudden surge of anxiety I felt. "Yeah, it seems that way. I can call the front desk and see if they can switch us to a room with two beds."
Jack quickly shook his head, "No, it's okay. We can make do with this. We've shared beds before on trips and stuff, right?"
He was right. We had shared hotel rooms on numerous occasions during our travels with friends, and it had never been an issue. But this time felt different, more intimate, given the nature of our pretend relationship.
Taking a deep breath to quell my nerves, I agreed. "Alright, let's just make the best of it. We can take turns using the bathroom to change and stuff."
Jack smiled, relieved that I was willing to go along with the unexpected situation. "Sounds like a plan."

Lying side by side in the dimly lit room, the soft glow from the bedside lamp casting a warm hue over us, the atmosphere felt intimate and comforting. The earlier tension from the unexpected room arrangement had dissipated, replaced by a shared understanding and connection between Jack and me.
After a few moments of silence, Jack turned to face me, his eyes filled with concern. "Y/N, I couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable you seemed earlier when we ran into your mom and aunt. Is everything okay?"
I sighed, feeling a wave of vulnerability wash over me. "It's just... my family can be so judgmental sometimes, especially when it comes to my love life or lack thereof. I know they mean well, but their constant prying and comments can be really hurtful."
Jack reached out, gently taking my hand in his. "I'm sorry you have to deal with that, Y/N. You deserve to be accepted and loved for who you are, without any judgment or criticism."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I felt the weight of Jack's words and the comfort of his presence. "Thank you, Jack. It means a lot to hear you say that."
He squeezed my hand reassuringly. "You're an amazing person, Y/N, and anyone would be lucky to have you in their life. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise."
I looked into Jack's sincere eyes, feeling a sense of gratitude and understanding. "You've always been there for me, Jack, supporting me and lifting me up when I'm feeling down. I don't know what I would do without you."
Jack smiled softly, brushing a stray hair behind my ear. "I'll always be here for you, Y/N, no matter what. We've been through a lot together, and I cherish our friendship and the bond we share."
I nodded, feeling comforted and grateful for Jack's unwavering support. "I cherish it too, Jack. And who knows, maybe one day I'll find someone who truly appreciates and loves me for who I am."
Jack looked at me intently, his expression unreadable for a moment before he spoke. "Y/N, you're amazing just the way you are. And whoever ends up with you will be the luckiest person in the world."
Feeling a mix of emotions, I smiled at Jack, appreciating his kind words and the genuine connection we shared. "Thank you, Jack. That means more to me than you'll ever know."

The first rays of morning light streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. I slowly began to stir, feeling an unfamiliar warmth and comfort surrounding me. As my eyes fluttered open, I realized that I was cuddled up against Jack, his arms wrapped securely around me.
For a moment, I lay there, savoring the unexpected intimacy and comfort of our embrace. Memories of our vulnerable conversation from the previous night flooded back, deepening the connection I felt with Jack.
Carefully, I tried to extricate myself from his grasp without waking him, but as I moved, Jack began to stir, his eyes blinking open sleepily.
"Morning," he murmured, his voice husky with sleep.
"Morning," I replied, blushing slightly at our close proximity.
We both looked down at our intertwined bodies, a hint of embarrassment and amusement coloring the moment.
"Looks like we ended up cuddling in our sleep," Jack observed with a chuckle.
"Yeah, seems like it," I replied, laughing softly. "Guess we're comfortable enough with each other to do that without even realizing it."
Jack smiled, his eyes warm and affectionate. "I guess so. I hope you're not too uncomfortable with it."
I shook my head, feeling a sense of contentment and happiness. "No, not at all. It was actually really nice."
We lay there for a few more moments, basking in the warmth and comfort of our cuddle, before finally deciding to start our day.

The morning was spent leisurely, with Jack and me joining my family for breakfast at the hotel's dining area. As we walked in together, hand in hand, I could feel the surprised and curious glances from my family members.
"Good morning, everyone," Jack greeted warmly, flashing a genuine smile.
"Morning, you two," my mom responded, still trying to adjust to the idea of Jack and me as a couple.
Throughout the breakfast, Jack made sure to engage with my family members, sharing stories, cracking jokes, and showcasing a genuine interest in their lives. His natural charm and wit quickly won them over, and by the end of the meal, even my most skeptical relatives seemed convinced of our faux relationship.
After breakfast, we spent the day exploring the city with my family, visiting local attractions, enjoying delicious meals, and creating memorable experiences together. Jack continued to play the part of the doting boyfriend flawlessly, offering me his jacket when I was cold, holding my hand as we walked, and stealing affectionate glances when he thought no one was looking.
At one point, I shivered slightly in the cool air-conditioned room. Without hesitation, Jack draped his jacket over my shoulders, his touch gentle and caring. I looked up to find him smiling down at me, his eyes warm and comforting.
"Better?" he whispered, his voice soft and soothing.
"Much better, thanks," I replied, feeling a sense of warmth not just from the jacket but also from Jack's thoughtful gesture.
Later in the afternoon, we stopped at a local café for lunch. As we sat down at a cozy corner table, Jack took the initiative to order for both of us, choosing some of the café's popular dishes and ensuring there were options that I would enjoy.
Throughout the meal, Jack made an effort to engage in conversations with my family, sharing amusing anecdotes and stories that had everyone laughing and enjoying the meal even more. His ability to connect with people and make them feel comfortable was truly impressive.
After lunch, we headed to a beautiful botanical garden. As we wandered through the lush gardens, Jack reached out to hold my hand, his touch reassuring and comforting. We strolled together, admiring the vibrant flowers and serene surroundings, our conversation flowing naturally and effortlessly.
At one point, Jack pulled me aside to a secluded spot overlooking a tranquil pond. "This place is beautiful, isn't it?" he said, his eyes reflecting the beauty of the scene before us.
"It's stunning," I agreed, feeling a sense of peace and contentment wash over me. “Just like you.” Jack whispered.
I looked up at Jack, surprised by his comment. His eyes were sincere, reflecting the beauty of the scene around us and the warmth of his affection for me.
"Thank you, Jack," I whispered back, feeling a flutter in my heart at his words. "That's really sweet of you to say."
He smiled softly, his gaze lingering on me. "I meant it, Y/N. You bring light and beauty into my life, just like this garden brings peace and tranquility to this place."
Feeling a deep connection and warmth from his words, I leaned in closer, savoring the intimacy of the moment we shared. "You have a way with words, you know that?"
Jack chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Only when I'm inspired."

The dinner was set in a cozy, dimly lit restaurant, with soft jazz music playing in the background. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the table was filled with laughter and chatter as my family and Jack enjoyed their meal.
As the evening progressed, the topic of conversation shifted to relationships and dating experiences, a subject that always seemed to make my family curious and playful, often at my expense.
"So, Y/N, is Jack your first boyfriend?" my cousin Emily asked, a teasing glint in her eye.
"Yeah, Y/N, tell us, is Jack your first?" my other cousin, Mike, chimed in, joining in on the fun.
Feeling the familiar sting of embarrassment and the weight of their teasing, I tried to brush off the question with a smile. "Well, Jack is my first 'official' boyfriend," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
The room erupted in playful laughter, and I could feel the color rising in my cheeks.
Trying to lighten the mood and divert the attention, Jack leaned in, "Well, I must say, I consider myself incredibly lucky to be Y/N's first. She's an amazing person, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner."
Feeling the warmth of Jack's supportive words and the lingering sting of the teasing, I tried to maintain a calm exterior. But inside, I was struggling to keep my composure.
Sensing my discomfort, Jack discreetly reached under the table, placing his hand gently on my thigh. His touch was reassuring and grounding, providing the comfort and support I needed in that moment.
I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me as I looked into Jack's eyes, finding understanding and empathy in his gaze.
"Thank you, Jack," I whispered, my voice trembling slightly.
He gave my thigh a reassuring squeeze and offered me a comforting smile, "Anytime, Y/N."

The day of the wedding dawned bright and clear, with the promise of a beautiful ceremony ahead. As I got ready in my hotel room, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. Today was the day I had been dreading due to the constant nagging from my family about my love life, but with Jack by my side, I felt more at ease.
When Jack arrived at my hotel room to accompany me to the wedding, he looked stunning in his tailored suit. His eyes brightened as he took in my appearance.
"You look absolutely breathtaking, Y/N," he complimented, his eyes filled with admiration.
"Thank you, Jack," I replied, blushing slightly at his compliment. "You clean up pretty well yourself."
As we made our way to the venue, Jack continued to be the perfect date, holding my hand, offering me words of encouragement, and making me laugh with his witty remarks. Despite the pressure and scrutiny from my family, Jack's presence made everything more bearable.
During the ceremony, as we stood side by side, I noticed Jack stealing glances at me when he thought I wasn’t looking. There was something different about his gaze today, something deeper and more intense, filled with emotions he hadn’t shown before.
Throughout the reception, Jack was attentive and caring, making sure I was comfortable and enjoying myself. As we danced together, I could feel the warmth and tenderness of his embrace, and for the first time, I began to see a glimpse of the depth of his feelings for me.
As the night progressed, and the champagne flowed, Jack's inhibitions began to wane. During a slow dance, he pulled me close, his eyes searching mine with a vulnerability I had never seen before.
"Y/N," he whispered, his voice shaky, "you mean more to me than you'll ever know."
Caught off guard by his confession, I looked into his eyes, searching for clarity and understanding. There was a depth and sincerity in his gaze that left me speechless, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still between us.
Feeling a rush of emotions, I replied softly, "Jack, you mean a lot to me too." “Lets not pretend anymore.”
"You're right," Jack murmured, his voice filled with conviction. "Let's not pretend anymore. I want us to be real, Y/N. I want us to be together, truly together."
I nodded, feeling a deep sense of relief and happiness. "I want that too, Jack. I'm tired of pretending and hiding how I feel. I want us to be genuine with each other and with the world."
Jack smiled, his eyes shining with love and sincerity. "Then let's make it official. Let's be a real couple, in every sense of the word."
Feeling a surge of joy and excitement, I hugged Jack tightly, burying my face in his chest. "I would love nothing more, Jack. I'm ready to start this new chapter with you."
As we stood there, holding each other close, I felt a sense of completeness and contentment wash over me.

More thoughts on Sha-Rich and g!p loser reader ‘cause I love Sana.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
tw: Some smut included, jealousy (a tiny bit toxic/controlling for a moment), but fluffy at the end.
Sana who takes you with her to important rich people events, whether it’s about business or not.
It started with these big fancy parties in which she had to make presence because of who her father was, and she convinced him you should go too since you were an important part of the company, right? Of course, you were going as another representative. But once Sana learned how funny was to have you with her there to keep her from dying of boredom with your easy way of making her laugh (and have fun with you in the bathrooms of those places), she knew she had to bring you with her everywhere. Things escalated until you were basically her date to these events full of rich boring people, and also to parties that made her excited, even making other people at the company jealous because why was the loser sunbaenim the only one good enough to be brought to these events with THE Minatozaki Sana??
We know how the business world works. One word: contacts. It’s not to discredit you, you were well respected and appreciated, besides admired not only by your coworkers but also by other important business figures who have heard of you from other companies who had a partnership with Mr. Minatozaki’s. However, let’s just say that since you and Sana started to get closer, you were attending more important social and business events that you could’ve ever imagined you will. From Japan to Italy, on first row, designer clothes on, exchanging contacts with big names (that were first driven to you two at these events once they recognized not only the face, but also the last name, but developed genuine interest in you once you opened your mouth about business), and several promises of getting drinks together. Sana was genuinely impressed, smiling and looking at you, you seemed to transform into a more confident person once you found yourself comfortable, knowing that you were an expert on your field. Confidence looked good on you, she thought.
What she wasn’t a fan of, however, was how some people were too comfortable flirting with you.
It was during this big business party. Sana actually thought more than once about going, wanting to spend the weekend with you alone rather than having to share you yet again with people. But now it was her father who would make sure she was bringing you to these events, ‘cause even he noticed how easily you attracted new potential investors and partnerships. “But daddy! We’ve been going to events almost all month!” She complained with a pout earlier that week, you in the boss’ office as well but being quiet, letting father and daughter decide. But this time it was not gonna work, you guys were going. Sana sighed, and decided to just listen. At least she got to share hotel room with you, and you made sure you destress her before the event;) plus, it was a party with her.. well, whatever you were. She’s been thinking about this actually, or at least thinking about avoiding thinking…
“Ready, Ms. Minatozaki?” You asked her while offering your arm before you guys entered the big hall. When she looked at you, she smiled and held your arm, knowing that it was just too easy to have fun with you for her to be feeling grumpy. Once you entered the place, multiple eyes went on you, as well as camera flashes. Sana’s grip on your arm got tighter, as she guided you around the room, knowing that you’d save her from having to make conversation with business partners present. After what felt like forever, she was finally able to take you to a table where some friends of hers were.
Sana’s close friends (like Momo, Mina, and Nayeon) were aware that you guys were closer than just regular friends. However, as far as they were concerned, Sana was just having fun with a pretty girl. That’s why after an actual smooth and comfortable conversation between everybody, Mina was now basically undressing you with her eyes, looking you up and down while playing with the glass of some expensive liquor she had in hand. You could feel her intense stare on you, and of course you noticed the intense stare Sana had on her. Momo and Nayeon found the situation funny af. They were glad they had found a soulmate on each other so they didn’t have to be involved in any of this type of drama.
“So, y/n.” Mina spoke, catching your attention. “You know, there’s this event soon about new technologies used for marketing strategies, I’ve heard you’re interested in that kind of stuff so I was wondering if you’d go as my plus one? It’s a very private event and important names will be there, not everybody gets invited so…”
This made Sana go on alert mode, noticing the cards Mina was trying to play. She looked at you, and noticed the excitement on your face.
“Oh! Well I’d lo-”
“She’ll be busy.” Sana answered for you, grabbing you by the waist. “There’s an important event we’re going that day.”
“But I didn’t even say what day.” Mina answered, smiling sarcastically as she spoke in between teeth. You looked at the two other girls, Momo hiding behind Nayeon, while the latter bit her hand trying not to laugh.
“We’ll be busy the whole month, sorry darling.” Sana said and sent a kiss to her way while she attended to pull you with her somewhere else, but her father appeared, smiling at you before speaking.
“Ah y/l/n! There you are. There’s somebody who I’ve been wanting you to talk to.” He said clearly excited. Sana looked at him with a raised eyebrow, not having a good feeling about it. You gulped, already feeling a little anxious about the expectations of your boss, but also glad to just be there and be noticed.
“Sure sir, where is this person?” You asked, to which he signaled to the entrance.
And there she was. The Park Jihyo. A young CEO from another important company. And Sana’s ex, of course.
You were aware of this. You’ve heard about her, she was popular in the business world. She has achieved so many things at such a young age, and all to her name even though she comes from a good family. There she was, wearing an elegant black suit. With her powerful aura, her beauty, and reputation, saying that she easily steals the spotlight whenever she’s present would be an understatement. You gulped again, nervous about the idea of speaking to such woman. You looked at Sana, hoping she’d at least be there with you.
“Daddy, I’ll go with her.” It was enough you were being sent to talk to her. But by the way her dad already had his hand on her shoulder, she knew it was a sign he was already planning on sending you alone.
“Nonsense, it’s gonna be all about a different department than yours, sweetie. Plus there’s other people who I want you to talk to. Don’t interrupt. Go, y/n. I’ll take my daughter now while you guys speak ok?” The man said winking at you, clearly unable to read the room. Knowing there was no arguing with the boss, you went on your way. Repeating words of encouragement in your head, you made your way to Jihyo, ready to introduce yourself and praying you didn’t ruin it.
“Good evening, Ms. Park. My name is…”you started, but the moment the woman looked at you in the eye, you panicked (loser 😭) “m-my name is… well I’m company and work at y/n’s.. wait- no, I’m y/n and-” oh god. Fuck. You ruined it already?! It took you 2 seconds bro c’mon, I thought you were getting better with those social skills. You grabbed your forehead with one hand, ready to receive a “get lost” but instead of that, what you’ve heard was a friendly giggle. When you looked back at the woman, she was smiling at you with compressive eyes.
“Don’t worry, I’ve heard about you. You work at Minatozaki’s company don’t you?” She asked and you nodded, words stuck in your throat. “Yeah, I’ve seen pictures of you with Sana. I was wondering when was I gonna be able to meet in person such a pretty girl.” She said winking at you, catching you off guard.
Oh.
Oh.
Tumblr media
“Daddy, can I go already?” Sana whispered to her father discreetly, already dying of boredom and just wanting to steal you from that woman. Sana’s ex not only had a good reputation with business, but a good (or bad, however you want to define it) reputation with women. Something like a fancy player you might even say. She noticed the way Jihyo clearly flirted with you, making you laugh and even blush?! unlike the little annoyance she felt when Mina tried to ask you out, this made her blood boil.
“Behave, sweetie. These are important people.” He whispered back, his smile never abandoning his face. She simply sighed and continued drinking from her glass of wine, trying her best to look interested at whatever the people in front of her were saying. They might be important people, but to her, only one person in that room was truly important; you.
Tumblr media
“There’s no way” you said in between laughs.
“I swear it’s true! I thought I was gonna lose it because of how much it hurt.” Jihyo said, laughing as well. You were talking about a little incident in which her friend got stuck in her zipper.
“Did it leave a mark?” You asked curious.
In the time you guys have been talking you learned she also had a member, that she’s gone through embarrassing moments ( like any normal person of course), she’s a really funny and charismatic person and…
“Wanna check yourself?” She asked back, her flirtatious tone resting well in her lips.
She wanted you. It was clear to you. You felt your cheeks turn red at yet another straightforward insinuation of hers. You were trying your best to keep it cool whenever she said something like this, but maybe it was time to let her know you were not interested.
“Ms. Park I-” you started.
“Please, call me Jihyo.” She asked, with that million dollar smile of hers. In another post of this author world, that would’ve been enough to melt you. Not here though, only one smile caused that in you.
“Jihyo.” You said, making the girl satisfied “I’m flattered, I really am. But I am… well, let’s just say there’s somebody already in my heart…” you said, looking at the Japanese woman across the room, wondering what was she thinking as she had that smile on her face. Smile you knew was her “I really don’t wanna be here, business are boring Ew” smile, the memory of her saying this making you smile unconsciously. With her smile now gone but a rather calm face, Jihyo followed your eyes. Surprised but at the same time not.
“Sana?” the older woman huffed “good luck with that, dear.” She said, looking at the Japanese woman. You looked back at Jihyo for a second With a raised eyebrow, not exactly liking her tone, but deciding not to make a big deal of it.
“I don’t need luck, thank you.” You assured her.
“Hey, don’t take it the wrong way.” She said, raising her hands “I’m just saying, that’s a hard card to play, Minatozaki. You know how it is with the kids of rich folks, specially daddy’s baby girls.”
“So you?” You asked here smiling sarcastically, and she let out a genuine laugh. Too contagious, impossible not to laugh with her.
“Fine, you got me there. Here.” The older woman said, raising her glass to toast with you, which you accepted and continued chatting for a bit, now in a more friendly manner rather than flirtatious. However, Sana didn’t notice the difference, she just knew it bothered her. Specially when she noticed Jihyo’s hand on your shoulder. With an excuse of not feeling too well, she excused herself and escaped her father and his friends, not bothering saying goodbye to the young men who tried flirting with her during the whole conversation.
Finally free, she made her way to you, finding your arm and hugging it, slightly pulling you closer to her. The moment you recognize who was it, your arm automatically went to hug her waist, a scene that felt a little familiar to Jihyo, but didn’t cause any negative feeling on her.
“Good evening, Ms. Minatozaki.” She politely said, which received a clearly fake smile from her ex.
“y/n, I’m not feeling well. I think something made me sick.” Sana explained, looking at Jihyo, who found the situation humorous. She was a chill person after all. “Would you be so kind to take me to my hotel?” She asked, now looking at you with those eyes who melted your heart and had you eating from the palm of her hand.
With how silly you were, you couldn’t see she was clearly lying. Worried about her and nothing else, you agreed right away.
“Of course Ms. Minatozaki.” You nodded and looked at Jihyo, smiling at her apologetically “Ms. Park, it was a pleasure meeting you tonight, I hope we can meet again once we’re all back home.” You said politely.
“Wait, before you go let me give you my number.” She said pulling her phone out, which you almost mirrored. However, Sana did not like the sound of that at all, and took your phone from your pocket.
“Her phone died, sorry.” Sana said to Jihyo, not even caring about coming up with a better excuse. You didn’t even bother checking if that were true, letting the Japanese woman be. Jihyo was finding this situation too funny, and wanting to tease just a bit more before you go, she continued.
“Then I’ll give you my new number and you can give it to her later, can’t hurt.” She said shrugging.
“Might hurt. Goodnight, Park.” She said, and pulled you to the exit. You could only waved your hand goodbye to Jihyo like a little kid, causing Sana to roll her eyes.
She’s had it for the night, it was supposed to be a night to enjoy with you, and she’s had anything but time with you. You were hers, why were others trying to steal you?! Wasn’t it obvious who you belonged to?
Come to think of it, you guys have never made anything official. People have seen you together, the public eye was on you and the chemistry was obvious, but as far as one’s concerned, you guys were nothing romantic. I mean c’mon, she has never once introduced you (to the public or to her friends) as anything but either a person who works at the company or as a good friend. So what was she expecting? For people to respect something that wasn’t a thing?
The thought of this brought her mood down. Of course you noticed this, but in fear of making her angry, you didn’t ask until you were almost at the hotel. You guys were sharing a room anyways. Finally having some time alone in the limo, normally Sana would already be on your lap, ruining both your and her lipstick, but now she was sitting on the other end, quietly looking through the window.
“Sana, is everything ok?” You asked, trying to hold her hand, but she moved it away once yours made contact with her.
“It’s Ms. Minatozaki.” She answered with a cold tone.
Her actions and tone making you sad, not knowing what even happened. “Did I do something that upset you? I’m sorry…” you whispered with that little voice, and your sad tone made Sana’s heart hurt. She had no right to be angry at you, and she really had no right treating you like this.
“It’s not you, I’m sorry y/n.” She sighed, finally looking you. “It’s just… I don’t know, I didn’t like the way some people were treating you tonight.”
“But nobody treated me bad.”
“Yeah, I know.” She huffed. “They were treating you a little too good.” She mumbled, confusing you even more. Sana shook her head, and held your hand. “What I’m trying to say is… I think I got a little jealous.”
“Jealous?” You asked, not sure you heard that right. There’s no way she was jealous because of you, right?
“Yeah, y/n. Jealous.” She said, surprising herself as she felt her cheeks warming up ‘cause of the confession. “I don’t like sharing your attention. I know I have no right on complaining about that but-”
“Please do.”
“What?” Now it was Sana’s turn to be confused.
“Please complain about it. Please want my attention on you only.” You told her sweetly, your heart racing as you smiled at her. “Although you don’t even have to. It’s always on you.”
“Really?” The woman asked, trying her best to keep it cool, but loving what you were saying.
“Yes, Ms. Minatozaki.” You confirmed.
“Sana.” She said softly “please call me Sana.”
“Please decide.” You said, making her laugh. The sound causing you to look at her with heart eyes. “Sana, don’t you know I’m already yours?” You whispered, feeling brave. Her laugh slowly dying as she looked at you, her eyes screaming how much she wanted to kiss you. However, she decided to wait until you guys were in the room.
And now here you were, about to end up the night in the jacuzzi of a very luxurious hotel, with the only woman in your mind and dreams straddling you as you kissed her deeply, feeling the soft skin of her lower back under the bubbles that caressed her.
“You did so good today, baby.” She praised you, her arms crossed behind you neck as she play with some loose hairs.
“Did I?” You asked, wanting to hear her more, as you slowly help her sit on your hard member.
“Hmm fuck yes..~” you heard her moan, and you weren’t sure if it was an answer to your question or pleasure already taking over her “I-I’m normally the one who has to make conversation until you start talking about business and deals. But you did good at casual conversation as well today. I’m proud of you.” She teased, making you giggle.
“Thanks, ma’am.” You said, grabbing her hips as you started thrusting into her slowly. Sana matched your moves as soft moans were released, putting her wrists together behind your head as she looked into your eyes.
“Sorry for making you jealous tonight.” You struggled to say “let me show you how m-much I want only you, yes?” You grabbed Sana’s thighs, thrusting harder into her, but still at a rather slow pace, making sure she felt every inch inside her. Whimpers started escaping her lips. Her face expressions just turning you on more and more.
“Oh my god…” she moaned louder, feeling so complete, she knew she could never get tired of the way you made her feel. It was her and you, connecting with each other through more than just physical desire, than just carnal pleasure.
“I love you..” you whispered in her lips. Out of all the things you could’ve said, that one was the one that caught her off guard like nothing else could’ve done it. Shivers going down her spine as she heard in your voice how honest you were being about your feelings. She felt so vulnerable, so exposed, fragile and weak. But also so protected, seen and cared for that even if it somehow shocked she..
She liked it. More than that, she loved it. She loved you.
“I love you too…” she whispered back, and that’s when she felt like she was actually waiting to hear and say those words. Everything fell into place. Not because you were in some luxurious hotel with some hot girl. But because you were with Sana. With her in your arms, being as yours as anybody could ever be. And you being as hers as it was possible. Hearts belonging to each other, you spent the night showing each other this, again and again.
——————————-
It became a whole thing huh?😭 I had to give them a nice ending🥺 my cute lovers.

it’s been a few weeks since you’ve broken up, and cheerleader!wanda makes you cupcakes for your birthday. you’ve spoken a few times since your breakup when you picked up your things from wanda’s place or when she drunk-called you that she missed you and that she was really sorry. she spoke with you again the next day, apologizing for that too. all in all, you are still kind to her, and that only makes wanda want you so much more. you don’t seem very angry with her and rather you act quite civil. she waits for you in front of your dorm room, a container of sorted cupcakes in hand, fidgeting with her hair and the collar of her shirt while she waits for you to come to the door
you’re quite surprised that wanda’s stopped by, but she tells you that you’d made her birthday really special when you were together. in fact, the way you spoiled her and cared so much for her that day while being able to just be alone together was the first time wanda really realized her feelings for you. she had never felt so cared for before you celebrated her birthday. she tells you that she understands you hate her now and that you’d likely not want to spend any of your birthday with her, but she wanted to return at least some of the favour for what you’d done for her. eventually, you give in and take the cupcakes gratefully
you could tell that wanda did care for you, and that she’d been missing you and making efforts to get close with you again. even when you’d picked up your things from her place, she asked how you were and even if you’d like to stay for a little to talk and catch up — she was desperate to speak with you again. though that didn’t change the kind of person she was, how she treated you at first
unsure why you really do it, you invite wanda to see you perform at a small event over the weekend. you’re just playing two or three songs at a small casual restaurant that’s known for having local performers play. wanda is elated and excited that you invited her, and her reaction nearly makes you blush
she attends over the weekend, sitting by herself at one of the small tables in the restaurant. it almost hurts how badly she wants and misses you, listening to your tender lyrics and your soft voice, the tranquil expression on your face and watching the gentle strumming of your fingers. it felt like her heart quite literally stopped when it looked like you looked up right at her while you were singing — of course, she couldn’t be sure you did
she hopes she can get the chance to talk with you after your performance; she made a tiny attempt at writing poetry for you before she came, and had it tucked away in a little card to celebrate your gig at the restaurant. she did much research for it, searching up how to express your feelings through words and how to construct the rhymes and timing of the lines right. you liked poetry, and you were an amazing writer, even writing her a song once before. she wanted to impress you somehow, show you that she cared about your interests and paid attention to them. she knew she messed up, but she wanted to show you that she could be someone that you could trust and love again
after the performance, wanda watches as you approach a different girl across the restaurant who it looks like you’d invited too, settling down beside her. wanda hadn’t ever seen her before, so she wasn’t sure what your relationship with her was, but she looked smarter than wanda did, knowledgeable about music and poetry and writing in a genuine way, and not in the way wanda wanted to be for you. she wanted to be smart and know things about music and writing and books like you did, but she didn’t, not naturally anyways, and all the things she knew were things you told her and things she searched up on her own to understand and connect to you better, like what she had done tonight with the card
you did end up approaching wanda too, saying you were surprised to see her even though you’d invited her and all. she thanked you again for inviting her and told you how good your performance was, but that she had to leave for another event she had partially skipped to attend your show. she took her phone from the table and the card along with it, tucking the both of them back into her bag so you couldn’t see the card hidden between her phone and the palm of her hand. it was badly written anyways and would’ve sounded stupid to someone who really knew poetry, and wanda should’ve known better than to try and prove herself to you through things she just makes a fool out of herself while doing

Bakugou would listen to you rant all about work. Even though he’s the one out on the streets with more exciting stories to tell, one of his favorite things is to hear you talk about your own work. He follows and nods along with whatever work story you have for him for the day, always attentive but never telling you what you should do to handle it (as he had learned from a prior relationship).
“I can tell he fuckin’ hates me, you know?” You continue on about your current work events as you sit on the countertop and watch Bakugou cut vegetables, “He keeps on bringing up my old manager as if she has anything to do with it now. Like, no motherfucker! You answer to me now and I’m saying pay your stupid invoice!”
The vegetables for dinner are set aside while the oven is still preheating. Two pieces of pork chop are taken from the fridge and is set aside on a clean plate as Bakugou looks for spices to rub into the meat. “So what happened baby? Did he pay? Y’said you were dealing with this for almost two weeks.” He asks you, genuinely curious if your annoying client is actually complying with you. The thought in his head is wondering how you handled it.
“I have to read you this email that I wrote. I gotta say the professional ways of dissing someone in email is something I finally understand now.” You laugh as you pull up your work email on your phone. Word for word you read out your well thought out response to your difficult client, not backing down and upholding work policy as you are expected to. Bakugou had never really bothered with any type of skill of being professional through communication in his job; it’s what his team is for while he gets the really privilege to cuss as he pleases and have his team handle it for the public. “Here is how I signed off, I think it’s probably my most eloquent and business-like ‘fuck you’ I’ve written so far.”
You clear your throat first before reading aloud, “‘I hope that the explanations of how to navigate your account has cleared up any confusion you may have and that you are able to move forward in compliance with our company policy, if you have any further questions then please let me know.’ God I know he’s going to hate me as soon as he reads it!”
He chuckles, happy that you know how to stand your ground in such a manner that Bakugou knows he struggles in. “You tell him, baby.”
“I fucking did Katsuki!” You boast with a proud little smile as you hop off the countertop and go to his side as he heats oil in a pan. “Sorry, I’ve been going on about this annoying client for a while. I wanna hear about your work today Tsuki.”
Bakugou shakes his head though and urges you to talk about what else happened at your work. The meat sizzles as he presses it into the pan, crackling and sizzling in a way that’s reminiscent of his quirk but to a much lower degree. The oven beeps to indicate that preheating is finished and you move to put all the vegetables into the glass pan and stick it in for him, already setting a timer before he can even ask. “What about that other guy? The one who keeps on saying that he’s getting investors so he wants to make you wait a little longer?” He asks you when he recalls another client you complained of a few days ago.
You excitedly pop off about your work again, unknowing how you calm Bakugou down with your own work stories. Your series of responsibilities that he wouldn’t know the first clue how to handle are interesting to him to hear how you handle yourself. It’s simple compared to what he does but in no way is it easy either. To see you struggle sometimes with your own career wasn’t easy for him but you were also strong enough to handle it all the same.
And he liked to think that he made it easy for you to handle because he wanted to hear anything and everything about your job that’s so different from his. “Tell me about the parking permits, did that get solved yet?” He asks as he starts to set food on the plates.
“No! I’m on week three of dealing with it and it’s ridiculous! I sent everything in so early and they deal with it so late!!”
Bakugou listens with a happy heart to hear you talk, never wanting you to apologize over the things that frustrate you. And by the end of your rants, even he feels a little lighter as he readies to get in bed with you.
And the next day as he’s just about to enter a meeting in his agency, Bakugou gets a text from you.
[1:57 pm] omg i need to tell you what this mofo emailed me when we’re home
He looks forward to it, letting a little smile come onto his face. He can see you all cute and puffed up and mad, and he can’t wait to hear about it.
[1:58 pm] can’t wait baby. love you.
You text him back within seconds.
[1:58 pm] love you!!!
Bakugou can’t wait to be home and listen to you.

I saw your request were open and got super excited so here’s my request it’s kind of long so I hope you don’t mind
So the idea is that the beast people have mates and you can feel your partner through the bond and it’s not obvious or some kind of communication link, but you can feel that they’re there, and when you see them you know that’s your mate, like that’s who you’re meant to spend your life with. But Leona has never been able to feel the other side of the bond like he was supposed to. And that was just one more thing his brother had that he didn’t. And then all the sudden one day he can feel some thing on the other side of his bond (when the prefect is magically, transported to twisted wonderland) And when he finally see them he know that they are his mate
And congrats on 2.7
❋ We finally meet ❋
↳ Leona finally meeting his soulmate
Tumblr media
feat: Leona
genre: hurt/comfort, open happy ending(?)
note: no pronouns used with the reader, Leona is an emotionally constipated jerk (I’m sorry), follows game-canon storyline through Book 3
I genuinely did not think this would be as sad as I thought, but Leona… he got some issues… and I have met people like him which I actually took inspiration from…so I really am sorry. I still hope you enjoy it

Just like many things, Leona grew to give up on this fated partner drivel. The world kept screwing him over, so it’s better to not bother with trying, right?
Until now…
The fateful orientation at NRC occured. Leona awoke from his nap as he sensed a new warm sensation in his chest, as though his entire being was burning with excitement.
Leona knew it, the moment he saw you. He didn’t have to ask or second guess this primal instinct. The spark burst in his chest as the beastman watched you stumble about in this new world, his world. The beastly side within him roared within, finally meeting his fated partner.
Leona was…angry. He truly wouldn’t be happy at first. Leona was fine not having the bond after so long, but he has to accept that he does now? Not once did Leona feel the pull of a bond or even a spark of such a feeling as described by those lucky b*stards. Was he supposed to forget all about his feelings of frustration when he as a beastman couldn’t feel this so-called bond that was so natural to others.
What frustrated Leona more was that you weren’t a beastman, you weren’t even a person of this world. You probably never had to go through the bitterness as he did, seeing his brother and so many others find their fated mate so easily while he couldn’t even comprehend what that could feel like.
He knew it wasn’t in your control, but he wasn’t going to be alright with this convenient bullsh*t of a happy ending.
The lion ignored you, he wanted nothing to do with you. He fought against his very instincts because he refused to have expectations anymore. So what if you were his fated mate? It’s too much of a bother to take care of a clueless herbivore.
But alas, Leona sometimes couldn’t stop himself as he gave into his natural connection with you. Despite meddling in his schemes, he felt no hate towards you, even when he tried to. When you needed a place to stay after being kicked out from Ramshackles, he surprised even himself to let you stay in his room.
Sometimes he growls at you, but then keeps you close like a protective guard. Leona feigned indifferent to your attempts to befriend him, but just as those annoying beastmen b*stards said, he felt drawn to you as though his world became weightless with your presence.
This complicated story finally reached its crescendo when you couldn’t handle this confusing hot-and-cold game, breaking down in front of him.
“Do you hate me, Leona?”
You found Leona in his usual napping spot in the greenhouse, because of course he would be there. Sometimes, he would grumble and tell you to leave him in peace. But on rare occasions, the beastman would roll to his side as the two of you enjoy each other’s company, sometimes in silence, other rarer times bantering.
But that was the problem.
“I don’t know what to do,” you steeled your voice with all your might but the cracks in your tone exposed the raw frustration you were feeling. “Sometimes you treat me so well and I feel really safe with you, but then other times I feel like you resent my very existence!”
You felt it too. Since you came into this strange world, you’ve seen and experienced things you once thought inconceivable. It took a while but you will through your new life and you were actually having fun in this loony situation. Except, whenever you saw Leona...
“Some days, all I could think about is you.” You confessed in tears, embarrassment be damned. “I want to be around you, like I feel this pull to be by your side. I feel so happy when I’m with you, but it tears me apart whenever you act like you can’t stand me.”
To be rejected by your soulmate is akin to getting a part of your heart being crushed, that connection between the two of you is tearing at the seams and along with it, a piece of yourself. You were going insane as a part deep inside you was begging to stay with the stubborn beastman, but was all this pain really worth it?
“What can I do?” Do you let him go, or fix whatever is wrong with this relationship? You didn’t care what you had to do, you just wanted this pain to finally leave you. “Tell me, Leona. Anything”
But Leona didn’t say a word. His piercing green eyes just watched you, showing no hint of his thoughts. The only betrayal of his unreadable expression was the way his eyebrows furrow as he saw your tear-stricken face and your body shaking from pained rage.
The beastman’s body was still, before he sighed as he lost his internal fight with his primal instincts. His arm reached out to you, pulling your shaking body towards him as he forced you to lay under the shady tree, pushing your head that - to his annoyance - fit so perfectly under his chin, resting atop his shoulder.
“I’ll explain later. For now, sleep. You’re a mess” you wanted to hit him, argue whose fault it was for all this. But your body felt compelled to curl into this insufferable man’s warmth. His scent irritatingly eased your frustrations as his arm warped around you almost protectively, almost like you were something precious to him.
“You’re awful, Leona” you let out a last stab at the senior before surrendering to sleep. Leona smirked sardonically, not the least bit angered by your weak attempt at an insult, even without being overwhelmed by the feeling the sensation of satisfaction having his fated beloved finally in his arms.
“I am, huh?”

---
By the time classes were beginning to start, your stomach was basically turning in on itself. You could hardly contain the building excitement pooled in your abdomen. It honestly felt like you might throw up. That would be bloody brilliant…having lunch with the Theodore Nott and blowing chunks all over the front of his robes. You winced at the thought.
Your first class was Potions. Theo was in this class, but the two of your workstations were on opposite ends of the room. You were both pleased and disappointed as you only had to interact with him briefly before lunch. Still, admittedly, you also wanted to see him. It wasn't as if you were adapting some girly crush on him, but you did want to know more about him. Assuming he could share personal details over small talk, you may learn a bit more about the mysterious boy. Surely, he wasn't all charm and allure.
Once you reached the dungeons, you settled into your workstation, setting your things across your desk. You flipped your notes open to the last brew the class had been working on, waiting patiently for Professor Snape. The class was with the Gryffindors, much to your dismay. There were a few rowdy house members you weren't overly fond of.
"Hey!" A voice hissed, to which you promptly ignored them. You knew exactly who it was, well, sort of. You couldn't ever remember his name, but you remembered his relentless teasing all too well. You rolled your eyes.
"Hey, Slytherin!" his voice grew a bit louder as the giggle from his friends urged him on. "Don't you want—" You could have sworn you saw Theo start to turn toward the boy.
"Class, turn to chapter five!" Professor Snape's nasally voice boomed across the classroom. You'd hardly noticed him even walk in. It didn't matter if that boy and his stupid friends left you alone. You didn't want Theo to think you were even more of a loser than he already did.
You flipped to the proper page in your textbook and tuned into Snape's brief lecture about Wiggenweld potions. You were meant to brew one today.
After around an hour and a half of referring back to the notes in your personal books and the instructions in the textbook, you'd finally produced a near-perfect Wiggenweld potion. You smiled pridefully, glancing around the room. Hardly any other students were even close to being finished. You raised your hand into the air, signaling that you were completed with your assignment. At the motion, Snape's head rose from his desk at the room's peak. His usual frown twitched ever so slightly as he got to his feet and headed your way. You were curious to know if the twitch was one of pride due to one of his own house having completed first or if it was just a tic of some sort. Either way, you'd breached his stony expression.
Theo turned to follow the Professor with his eyes and then eventually found you. A slight blush passed over your cheeks as you quickly pulled your eyes from his.
Snape stopped before your station, staring down at the potion. A singular eyebrow cocked at the steaming concoction. You awaited his reaction breathlessly.
"Class!" he spoke. His sudden exclamation nearly made you jump out of your skin, yet you couldn't help but become excited for his next words. He was either really happy or really not with your product. "Please come and gather around this station." Your stomach burned with pride and a bit of embarrassment. You weren't overly fond of being put in the spotlight like this.
Your classmates wandered over to your workstation, some interested and genuinely curious, others annoyed and stressed over their own brews. It was easy to guess who came from which house. They watched closely as Snape selected one of the ladles beside your cauldron. He watched it closely, eyeing for any sudden changes in its make-up. When he saw none, he placed the ladle beneath the surface of the liquid and began to stir it a bit.
"Alright, can anyone tell me how to test the efficiency of this potion?" Professor Snape asked, glancing around at his students with a bored expression. You stared out at your fellow classmates, waiting for someone to answer. You felt like you knew the answer perfectly well but were sure the Professor meant a different way.
"Anyone?" he repeated. When no one spoke, you contemplated raising your hand and giving your answer, even if it was wrong. If you gave the incorrect answer, the entire class would be standing directly before you, and it would likely mortify you, but at least you'd tried, right? You raised your hand.
"Yes?"
"I apologize, sir, if this is incorrect, but aren't you supposed to be injured for the result of the Wiggenweld potion to show?" you asked. A snicker came from somewhere in the small crowd of students. Your cheeks flushed, burning wildly with shame. Surely, that hadn't been wrong. Snape's head snapped toward the direction of the crowd.
"Williams! Perhaps you'd like to test her potion?" Professor Snape spoke. The crowd split slowly, wanting to be far from the center of Snape's focus. The boy who loved nothing more than to tease you stood before him, eyes wide and darting around. Williams must be his last name.
"Uh, no, sir," he replied, his voice stuttering ever so slightly. You fought the urge to smirk at his unfortunate luck. Hopefully this little scare with the Professor would convince him to leave you the hell alone.
"You are correct," Snape responded, his attention returning to you. Your stomach fluttered in success. "However, there is no way we will be able to test it. You will be graded on the scent and color of the potion since that will be the closest way of telling whether or not it is accurate."
"Uh, theoretically—" you started, Snape's eyes found yours "—couldn't we still test our own potions the correct way?"
"I'm sure you don't mean inflicting an injury on yourself?"
"No, of course not," you smile, "I just meant—" You cut yourself off by holding your knee up and pointing to a small scab on the surface of your skin. You saw Theo crack a smile from the corner of your eye.
"Well, I cannot suggest or encourage you to try your own product as it could be…explosive," he spoke, eyeing a Gryffindor boy who'd had particular issues with potions, "but I must say I'd commend any bravery with which you'd attempt this."
A smile spread across your lips as you selected the other ladle next to your cauldron. You gathered a small amount and, with a small breath, took a sip of it. Technically, this could go horribly wrong and you could be very injured but, on the other hand, it could go very well.
In the moments after taking it, you didn't feel much at all, but the entire class watched in awe as the small scab on your knee slowly faded away. A giddy excitement spread in your stomach. Damn, you were proud of yourself. A small smirk spread on Snape's lips and you could have sworn Theo did the same.
"Very well done," Snape spoke. You smiled in response, your cheeks swelling with pride.
By the end of the class period, you were still floating on your ego cloud, reveling in the fact that you'd been proven right before the whole class and Snape had complimented you. That had to deserve a medal or something.
You had made your way to your next class, Transfiguration, which flew by with little eventfulness. Theo wasn't in the class and you'd found yourself tapping your foot on the ground and twirling your quill around your fingers anxiously, waiting for the start of lunch. You wondered if Theo was even going to hold up his end of the deal; if he was even going to show up to have lunch with you. You could easily see how he'd be too embarrassed to come through on it.
Once Transfiguration had ended, you'd practically raced out of the room and out to the courtyard. You sped past the chattering students and intricately carved water fountain, focused on one spot in particular. Your favorite spot next to the black lake, beneath a tall, winding tree that you could lean against whilst reading or working on homework.
You set yourself down in front of the tree and placed your bag beside you. You pulled out one of your current reads, a small bottle of water and an apple you'd snagged from breakfast that morning. As pathetic as it was, you turned away from the castle and started to read—as best as you could while your stomach fluttered with anxiety—and began nursing the apple. You didn't want him to think you were eagerly awaiting his arrival, if he even showed. You wanted to be nonchalant, cool. Merlin, how dumb…
The words on the pages began to blur together with absolutely none of the information absorbing into your brain. Anything you were currently faking reading was going to have to be reread.
Perhaps it was because you were waiting on him so eagerly, but it seemed like you were waiting a very long time. Maybe he'd forgotten? Or maybe he hadn't intended on coming in the first place anyway…damn. You raised your arm to the sky, letting your sleeve fall past your watch. You'd been sitting here for about fifteen minutes. Was that too long to wait? Maybe he thought you meant a different place—
"Hey!" You turned at the sudden voice. Theo was not but a few feet away, headed straight toward you. A flutter of excitement pushed its way into your heart, lighting up your surroundings. How embarrassing… You act like you like him, or something.
"Hey," you returned, smiling shyly. He found his way next to you and set himself down on the root beneath you. He was slightly below you, his oceanic eyes staring up at you with seemingly obvious interest. Your eyes flickered nervously from his, trying not to appear too nervous, but ultimately failing.
"Well?" he spoke. You looked back at him, your eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"Well?" you asked.
"You said we'd hang out and talk," he smiled, "I didn't think I'd just be staring at you—though I don't mind that."
Your stomach flipped at his words. Was that meant to be flirtatious? Surely not. Your teeth shuddered with nerves, the hardness of them nearly making a clacking sound. You could have sworn his smile morphed into a smirk at your nervous reaction but you couldn't be sure.
You looked down at your book, nervously picking at the loose threads on the bookmark. Your lips opened and closed multiple times as you sought something to say, yet nothing came forward. You laughed nervously, embarrassed that nothing was coming out.
Suddenly, his fingers slipped beneath your hand—his touch ever so gentle. He pulled your fingers from the bookmark with one hand, and tugged the book slowly from your lap with the other. Your eyes found his.
"No reading, remember?" he chuckled softly, a curled index finger coming up to briefly brush your chin. Your breath hitched in your throat at his touch.
He placed your bookmark snug between the pages and closed the book, setting it down beside you.
"Tell me about yourself," he said, spreading his legs out and leaning back on his elbows. His eyes watched you so closely, nearly pinning you to the tree. You swallowed thickly.
"Uh, I mean, I like to read," you chuckled nervously. He motioned with his head, telling you to go on. "I mean…you know I'm an Animagus."
"Yes, how did you become one, anyway?"
"Well, it's this really long process where you have to—"
"No, no, I know how you become one," he explained, "I guess I meant, why did you become one?"
"Oh, because of my mother. She's an Animagus, as well," you said, smiling fondly at the thought of your mother. "One day I saw her, by accident, as she was shifting back into her human form, and ever since then…"
"Ah, I see," he replied. You hated to say you were shocked, but you never expected him to be so interested in what you were saying. Maybe it was an assumption, but you'd always thought he was sort of self-absorbed.
"So when you transform—?" And the rest of the afternoon was spent with Theo asking you various questions; about yourself, about your Animagus form, about all of your favorite things. And of course, you'd answered all of them with a shaky smile and a fluttering heart.
His smile grew, and the distance between you shrank with every question. By the end of his miniature interrogation session, your knees were touching, directly across from the other. You tried not to feel it and refused to look down. You didn't want him to pull away. For some reason, any type of touch from him was electrifying. You felt like a fucking pilgrim or something but the simple brush of his trousers against your bare skin had you trembling.
"Well, love, you're quite the interesting character," he said, laughing. You tried to ignore the nickname and the raging fire in your chest.
"As are you," you smiled. In the span of an hour, you'd learned that his favorite color was green, dark like Slytherin's crest; he wanted to be like his father as he got older—well, sort of, "it's complicated," was what he'd said; he loved playing on the Quidditch team and would become a professional if he could; his favorite time of the day was the middle of the night, when it was dark and the only sound was the universe scraping around the earth.
He was nothing like you'd expected. He was profound and full of dreams and hopes. Perhaps it was cruel of you to think that Theo wasn't just like everyone else, but the whole of Hogwarts put him and his friends on such a pedestal it was hard not to see them as otherworldly. But if nothing else, he was kind.
Eventually, the time came for the two of you to leave the Black Lake. You had to separate, your knees brushing once more, and the two of you nearly bumping chests as you got to your feet. You stumbled backward slightly, your hands coming behind you to press against the tree trunk. His eyes found yours in a bemused manner at your small stutter. His lips parted in a slight smirk.
You tore your eyes from his. Through a rasped voice and a thick swallow, you explained that you needed to head back to the castle for your third period.
"I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" he spoke slowly. Merlin, did he always sound like that? Your eyes found his lips ever so briefly, cursing yourself. You did not have a crush on Theo.
"Okay," you smiled quickly and pulled yourself away from the boy. Being near him was like being sucked into some kind of trance. It made you feel as if your head was made of air. The course of electricity that he shot through your stomach was unlike anything you'd ever known before. Quite frankly, it made you very nervous.
You shouldered your bag and started up the hill toward the castle, leaving the confident boy in your wake. Hopefully, you weren't embarrassing yourself and he'd still be interested in hanging out with you today. You snuck a glance behind you. He was comfortably against the tree, watching your every step up the hill. When you looked back, he tossed a small wave, smiling brightly.
He said he'd see you tomorrow. Did he mean for lunch? Was he really going to waste his whole break with you again? What was his motive? Sinister scenarios broiled in your stomach, pushing anxiety into your brain. Why on earth was he interested in you? You hoped it was for a good reason.
