the largesse of the sea maiden.

When Narwë received word that her son Artanáro would be joining her in Himring for the summer, she had to read the missice from Nargothrond about ten times before the point sank into her mind. Her son, her only child with Ingoldo -- the son which she carried for a year, birthed -- and then sent to Nargothrond -- would be coming here. Coming to Himring. A tumult of mixed emotions arose in the Lady of Himring's chest. When she and Ingoldo wished for a child, she had thought herself well and capable of raising one of her own. After all, did she not raise six brothers, and helped with her cousins beside?

But imaginings and daydreams were oft incomparable to the real thing, and after a difficult birth and when the midwife handed to her the swaddled infant, Narwë, instead of feeling overwhelming love, could only feel fear and great hesitation. It wasn't that she didn't love her child; no -- it was a complicated web of feelings that even she could not make sense of. Certainly, she and Ingoldo tried to raise their son together, but as the months crawled by after the birth, Narwë was getting more distressed, such that the only option they could truly have was for Ingoldo to finally return to Nargothrond with their infant. Narwë had not wept as hard then, not even when Fëanor burst into flames before her and her brothers' eyes.

And how the years have rolled by! Artanáro, her son, was now writing correspondences for his father, signing missives in perfect Tengwar that would have made Fëanor proud:

How Narwë trailed her gold-and-mithril fingers over the letters, and in the privacy of her suites in Himring, how many times has she pressed the parchments to her nose and lips, kissing the name of the child she let go, imagining she could smell his perfume, or find the lingering warmth of his fingers...

Summer could not come to Himring fast enough. But as the last few tendrils of Spring gave way for the summer colors of the flowers of the Lothlann tundra, Narwë, Red Lady of Himring, looked south of her towers and battlements.

And one morning, the banners of Nargothrond were seen fluttering in the high breeze on the south road, and she rushes to the courtyard, if only to be the first person to welcome her son -- her grown son -- to Himring. The drawbridge was allowed to come down. She stood there, wrapped in her dark furs, her red hair drawn into a ponytail, and she watches as a beautiful dun stallion comes galloping into the courtyard of Himring.

She peers up at the young elf on the saddle. Strawberry blond hair drawn into a practical bun-hairstyle, riding clothes in the color of the earth, and a deep chocolate colored fur coat. But the eyes --- Artanáro's eyes were Ingoldo's, summer blue, and Narwë found that she would not have willed her only child to look this and that.

She stepped forward. Artanáro looked at her in silence, for a heartbeat, but then he dipped his head and extended to her the elven greeting, which she returns. "Amil," he greets.

"My son," Narwë hears herself say. "You look just like your Atar. I hope your roads gave you little trouble. Welcome to Himring."

Artanáro dismounts his horse, and he allows a stablehand to lead away the magnificent creature. He stands before her, and Narwë eagerly studies his features. I have missed most of the important milestones in his life, she thinks. I did not hear his first word, nor shared Ingoldo's joy when he took his first steps. I was not there when he had his first substantial meal, nor saw when he first held his practice sword, nor nursed him through small scratches and little injuries that woudl have been gone come the morrow. There is a painful pinch in her heart. But her decision to send him to Nargothrond was the best she could make for him under their circumstances.

Narwë does not offer a hug. She does not yet know if she has that right. And Artanáro does not embrace her either. He makes a small show of pulling off his fur-lined riding gloves, and Narwë thinks that even his perfect fingers he got from his Atar.

"Let's go inside," she says instead, gesturing toward the Main Keep with her gold-and-mithril hand. "Your Uncles Maglor and Caranthir are no doubt eager to see you."

Artanáro nods, and he absently pats at his strawberry blond hair. "Lead the way, Amil." He says quietly. "I will follow."

Narwë wants, more than anything, to hug him, kiss him, and hold his hands to her cheeks. But she refrains, and instead she turns heel, and Artanáro follows close behind.

1. Three ships: Maedhros/Maglor... I'm in the vortex and have no intention of leaving even if I could. Um, also, I'm a big fan of Maglor/Thranduil and Finrod/Sauron. I know we're reaching beyond three but Finrod/Andreth is also special to me and on the mind since reading Athrabeth. It's hard to stop listing them!

2. First ship: Of my LOTR era as a wee lass: Éomer/Lothíriel. Of my new Silm hot girl era: Russingon, actually! I'm still invested in it, even if I don't spend as much time thinking about it.

3. Last song: Miley Cyrus - Wildcard, which got stuck in my head... I'm gonna take this opportunity to again put forth to the esteemed colleagues that this is a, nay the, Míriel song. These tag memes reveal how the same 5 thoughts bounce around in my brain for a week entire.

4. Last movie: Crimson Peak with friend @jouissants! Reader, you can imagine my feelings

5. Currently reading: I am between books somewhat, slowly reading Lays of Beleriand. I forgot to mention it on another post, but I'm also listening to Two Towers as an audiobook--part of rereading LotR for the first time since I was a kid, which has been both moving and interesting. I have a TBR that just keeps getting longer, including The Goblin Emperor, the play Salomé, and a bunch of fanfic and nonfiction!

6. Currently watching: gradually rewatching Nirvana in Fire (🥰), hoping to someday get to the new Good Omens and Only Murders in the Building seasons, if time and inclination allows. I'm not that good at shows if it's not a Plan with someone and I'm in no rush, but I'd like to see them sometime.

7. Last thing I wrote: Some more notes on a fem!Maglor/fem!Thranduil WIP I'd like to finish in time for Silm Smut Week.

Heyyy! We usually chat on ao3 but I've an ask. What are your thoughts on Female!Maglor? How much would that change everything? <del>How much would it change Maglor's relationships, especially with Maedhros and Fingon, and Finrod, and Fëanor and Nerdanel, and Fingolfin and Arafinwë, and Elrond and Elros, and Eönwë, and the rest of Maglor's brothers?</del>

I don’t think it would change much tbh. Like, I guarantee if Nerdanel popped out a girl Fëanor would still be like ‘I can teach this thing to smith and it will be GOOD at smithing.’ Like yeah there’s a certain level of sexism in Elvish society (-squints at Nature of Middle Earth and the weird ‘women withdraw from society for years’ bullshit-), but Fëanor himself doesn’t strike me as the type who would care.

If anything, Fëanor would relish in having a daughter that would break the social norms, because Fëanor is a menace to society. A female Makalaurë would be raised exactly the same way and be just as much of a slut, lmao.

I’m just imagining someone picking on Maglor like ‘awww, are you gonna run to your brothers?’ and Maglor just says ‘nope’ and beats them over the head with her flute. Like yeah, Mag’s brothers would kill to defend her, but thats not because Mags is a girl, its just because they’re siblings. Mags would also kill to defend her brothers.

Like, bless Finarfin and Arafinwë, but if Maglor is the oldest granddaughter of Finwë, lets be honest and say they would need some time to adjust. Because they’re used to Indis and Findis who are… feminine. For the moment we are ignoring the abolition terror that is Lalwen. Vanyar in general are a lot more delicate than Noldor so at first Finwë’s sons would probably treat a female Mags with kid gloves. Then Maglor beats the shit out of someone and they’re like ‘oh. Okay. Thats a thing.’

Eönwë… look. I love Bird Boi. I do. But someone would have to sit him down and explain that just because people say that women are delicate doesn’t mean Makalaurë is. The Laws and Customs of the Eldar is basically the elvish equivalent of those sexist Christian propaganda books we were all force fed as kids, but Eönwë takes them to be gospel because he’s dumb and doesn’t know better. So yeah, Eönwë would try to make himself Mag’s knight in shining armor only to realize that’s completely unnecessary.

Finrod would think fem Maglor is great because that means he just gets a living, breathing doll he can dress up in fancy clothes. Finrod also dresses up in women’s clothes and together they terrorize Tirion.

Honestly a female Maglor would probably terrify the twins even MORE because they’re used to women who fit a more traditional elvish female mold, and then Mags shows up with a sword and starts killing people. Like… they might not even realize Mags is a woman at first, because she’s wearing armor and like seven feet tall. It would make it easier for the twins to pick names to call their foster parents, since Maedhros can just be dad and Mags can be mum.

It would potentially make any of my AUs where Maglor gets Captured by Sauron even worse. Remember the AU you proposed where Gil-Galad is Maglor and Sauron’s kid?

how many works do you have on AO3? 55

what’s your total AO3 word count? 832,410, more than half of it on my long-fic Mighty Love (and a lot more than half of it, if you also count all the one-shots that belong to the same 'verse)

how many fandoms have you written for and what are they? I have only written in the Tolkien fandom, mostly Silmarillion, until now. I have also written some original works, though.

what are your top 5 fics by kudos? 1. Mighty Love - what I call affectionately 'my monster'. A fic of about 477,000 words that tells the story of Mablung, at first a slave in Angband, and Melkor. It has the AU -- Canon Divergence tag because Melkor repents eventually and is given another chance. It is finished and has a happy ending, though it takes them some time get there. Lots of OCs, lots of kinky smut, it gets dark in places and very sweet in others. (The start might read a little bumpy, because my English go a lot better during translating it.) It is the story of my heart, most of my one-shots and shorter fics are connected to it in some way. 2. Maeglin's Choice - An AU, where Maeglin confesses to Rog about having been captured by Morgoth, Turgon decides to leave Gondolin and they all end up at Sirion. Originally just a one-shot because the idea wouldn't leave me alone, but it became so popular that I felt inspired to continue. Not finished, updates come irregularly when I have time for it. It will be finished, because I'm not in the habit to abandon fics (see below), but it might take some time. 3. "You are so beautiful when you scream, Maitimo." - Maedhros in Angband, from his and Morgoth's POV. Very dark, heed the warnings! 4. Piecing our Lives back together - Maedhros/Fingolfin trying to save their relationship after Maedhros's rescue from Thangorodrim. BDSM, uncle/nephew-incest (obviously). I'm actually very happy this one's so popular as it is a rarepair and I was a little nervous because so many people have russingon as their otp. 5. The Foundling Prince - Gil-galad origin-story. Maedhros and Fingon find a dead orc-woman and a living baby in the snow-covered woods close to Himring. Still not sure if this is actually my headcanon for Gil-galad's parentage, but I enjoyed writing it.

do you respond to comments, why or why not? Yes! Even if it is just to say 'Thank you.' I love comments and I want people who take the time to write me something feel appreciated.

what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? Hmm, not sure, really. The one that immediately springs to mind, (because it's the last fic I wrote XD) is The Edges of His Fingers (Celebrimbor/fem!Narvi).

do you write crossovers? if so what is the craziest one you’ve written? Nothing I've posted. My first fics (back when I didn't even know fanfiction was a thing) were often conversations between characters from different books/movies/etc. that I loved, but those are way to embarrassing to post. I did write a crossover of Mighty Love and my original story Black Wings for NaNoWriMo a few years back and I might post that eventually, if I feel like revising it.

have you ever received hate on a fic? I've received some weird comments (very few) and one that I'd call hate because the commenter insulted my OC. I answered in what I considered a polite way. Never heard from them again and they deleted the comment. I'm glad there wasn't more. I'm very confident about what I want to write and I won't stop, but stuff like that always feels uncomfortable.

do you write smut? if so what kind? Big yes! M/M, the kinky kind.

have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of.

what’s your all time favorite ship? Melkor/Mablung (my OMC), because I've written them for so long I can't imagine it otherwise XD. If we talk canon character-pairings I particularly like Celebrimbor/Annatar and Finrod/Beor, but I don't have strong OTPs, I'll read whatever tickles my fancy. (Which means I read and enjoy Melkor/Mairon, too, it's just not my headcanon.)

what’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? I have some WIPs that are going to take a lot of time to finish (talking years here), because they are getting long, but I don't have any abandoned ones.

what are your writing strengths? Hmm, I'm bad at prasing myself. I think, I'm good at getting into characters' heads and writing down their thoughts. Also: smut. I remember feeling very awkward about it, but by now I'm comfortable writing it the way I picture it in my head.

what are your writing weaknesses? Coming up with a title and summary. Also deciding where to end one-shots.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I find it hard to picture a situation where that would make sense to me. If the intent is to show that the pov-character doesn't understand the others, there are other ways to do it. I like nicknames or terms of endearment in other languages, I do that myself, but whole conversations just seem needlessly complicated to me.

what was the first fandom you wrote for? Lord of the Rings quickly followed by Silmarillion. (Also, I want to say, while I stared posting only in 2017, I've been writing what turned into Mighty Love from around 2003. I've been writing for myself for much longer than I've been 'in fandom'.)

what’s your favorite fic you’ve written? They change! But at the moment it's Finding Lost Family because I have such a soft spot for Sharû (my orc-OC) and his journey and growth (not to mention the budding love between him and Ecthelion) after the War of Wrath was so much fun to write.

How I feel about this character: I HAVE TOO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT THIS CHARACTER. I love him and I love how hard he tried and how much he cared about his family and his people and how terrifying of a warrior and a politician he was and how charismatic he must have been to carry his following as long as he did and how much it hurt him to fail and how much it ruined him to kill innocent people and how in the older draft Tolkien gave him a redemption arc.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Mostly Fingon. Aside from Fingon: Azaghal, Finrod, Turgon (but in a ragged unhealthy AU way after Fingon’s death and they’re both making Bad Decisions), Fingolfin (mostly in AUs? having to do with political powerplay?), Thingol (obviously exclusively in AUs, and it’s like. Bad. Lots of political machinations and hostage situations and fuckiness), misc. young intellectual elf men in Valinor, misc. Political Authorities Of All Sorts, @docandlespitymoths��s Sinda-in-Angband OC and various AU iterations of him...

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Pale platonic russingon can also be very good. Gold Rush AU has turned me on to Maedhros+Gwindor friendship. Maedhros+Fingolfin friendship is also super good! I feel weird calling relationships with his brothers even “non-romantic OTPs” but like... his relationships with each of his brothers and especially Maglor!!! Those are so compelling to me.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I think I like picturing him less Tall and Larg than most people? Because I’m a coward.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: uh I guess I wish he hadn’t murdered as many people??? Like don’t get me wrong the tragedy of his arc is beautiful and compelling but I am weak and Sirion is horrible

a headcanon fact: I think my Maedhros headcanons are pretty common? He’s a wonderful brother, he’s a wonderful politician, he’s very kingly and his people love him, everyone has crushes on him, his eyes are silver, etc. etc...

Ooh I guess I headcanon that he was tortured in Angband for a long time before being put on Thangorodrim, and during that time he never stopped resisting the Enemy. Even when he was extremely broken down and wrecked he wouldn’t betray his people, thanks to Supernatural Feanorian Elf Stubbornness.

How I feel about this character: I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. He is my favorite Silm character (not my favorite Tolkien character who also appears in the Silm, but favorite character for the Silm story, if that makes sense). Also the first one I managed to actually track and synthesize all the way through the storyline, and the one I used as central scaffolding while trying to get the silm to hang together straight in my head. I think he has the best and most lyrically well-turned and satisfying while still intriguingly incomplete arc in the Silm of any of the Finweans (even Maedhros!) He also is right smack on the intersection that makes up my biggest and longest-running legendarium fascinations, mortal-immortal relationships, from more of a first-contact-between-aliens direction than one focused on differing perspectives, and it’s

My unpopular opinion about this character: uh I guess mostly that I don’t think his early interaction with humans was like, anthropological curiosity or some shit. There was a war and a long watchful siege on, I think on both sides the intention in their interactions was mostly practical, trying to become allies and organize their population for protection and service stuff under a regional king, and the anthropological alien-contact stuff kind of spilled in around the edges as a byproduct, more and more strongly the longer they knew each other as individuals, especially in trying to communicate/explain v different lifestyles.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I WISH HE AND GALADRIEL HAD MORE SCENES TOGETHER/i wish galadriel had discussed him more…somewhere….in LOTR, where he would have been v thematically significant.

Strange Currencies by @jouissants (in-progress, Maedhros/Maglor accidental LaCE marriage, M) - this fic is one of my absolute favorite things to come out of 2023, lavishly and heartbreakingly imagined post-canon reembodied/returned Exiles and brilliant maemags falling together in late Beleriand. invest now!!!

here we go again by @i-am-a-lonely-visitor (completed, Orodreth/Celebrimbor & Gil-galad Mamma Mia AU, T) - the most summer fun ever with one of my favorite Celebrimbors, delights me to think about and I think about it often!!

Such a Marriage by DifferentSong (in-progress, fem!Maedhros/Maglor set between Doriath and Sirion, M) - I feel personally blessed by the ability to list multiple maemags longfics on this list. This one is so tender, with incredible characterization for both these two and Tolkien Elves (old & young, sad & gay) in general; leader fem!Maedhros owns my heart.

What the Water Gave Me by @imakemywings (completed, Finduilas/Nienor canon divergence AU, M) - beautifully described and cozily, realistically lived-in development of a relationship between these two in a universe where Nienor survives her suicidal leap; this bandaged the wounds left by CoH for me!

In Twain by @jouissants (completed, gothic and gendery Maedhros/Elrond and Maedhros/Maglor, E) - cinematic reading experience and deliciously winding tale of Elrond's coming to better know Maedhros, Maglor, and himself; so many lines from this--and the ending--just grip me and won't let me go.

Single-chapter fics

Wondrously Wrought by @searchingforserendipity25 (Maedhros & Maglor in a universe where Noldor craft their children's personalities, G) - this beautifully written fic has me in a chokehold months & months later, I simply love it so much--the Fate of it all and the dynamic between them, and how thick the tension and emotion hangs even in these few moments.

and some of us returned by @i-am-a-lonely-visitor (Maedhros/Maglor, past Maglor/Glaurung assault at the fall of Maglor's Gap, M) - fulfilled my wildest dreams of Glaurung angst played straight, eerie and gorgeously written psychological horror told through Maedhros' eyes and his own possessive love for Maglor.

As You Wish by @imakemywings (Maglor/Thranduil battle couple devotion and hurt/comfort, T) - so many great single-chapters this year but this one is SO dear to me; I love eerie attack dog Maglor who simultaneously cares overmuch and I think this ship is so thematically chef's kiss as an alternate ending for him; wry Thranduil is fantastic here too.

one of your girls by @swanmaids (Celegorm/Oromë, Celegorm & Maglor; femininity and internalized homophobia in Valinor, E) - masterful weird mythical Ainur devotional customs surrounding Oromë and his hunt, and a really touching exploration of Celegorm's character in a time when he still has yet to choose his fate. Celegorm's tension with Maglor is great here too.

Played by @disastrousexpense (Maedhros/Maglor, Maedhros/Fingon where Maglor seduces Maedhros through the guise of "teaching" him for Fingon's benefit, E) - one of my favorite Maglors this year, so theatrical and affected and alluring and (in this Valinor period) quite selfish, yet expressive and deeply, deeply feeling. a rollicking story that made me laugh and then made me cry!

Oldies but goodies

Elvish Letters by @ladygavroche (Caranthir & Finrod, Celebrimbor & Fëanor, Maedhros & brothers, epistolary humor, in progress, G) - this is a favorite of mine, along with the Caranthir fic earlier in the same series. Incredible and hilarious epistolary that just sings!!

The Silver Queen by @i-am-a-lonely-visitor (AU where Gil-Galad is Celebrían, trans!Celebrían/Elrond, completed, M) - such a lovingly written fic for a brilliant concept. Multiple scenes of Celebrían's arc in this had me weeping earlier this year.

The High King of the Noldor and His Faithful Hound by shatteredGlasses (Hrunting_License) (Celegorm/Maglor, assault and tensions during Maglor's kingship, completed, E) - During Maedhros' captivity, Celegorm thinks the worst of Maglor, and Maglor uses Celegorm for self-harm. Genuinely disturbing, excellent angst, and very formative for me!

Through the Smoke I See You by Dragonstorm (Maedhros & Maglor, Maglor's Gap and Dagor Bragollach, single-chapter, T) - one of my favorite explorations of Maglor's devotion and guilt towards Maedhros, and the immense risk of trying to hold the Gap! I love it so.

Thistle Whistling on the Wind-Blown Field by happythoughhuman, Torpi (Finrod & Edrahil, Finrod & Avari, culture, environment, storytelling, completed, M) - I've been meaning to revisit this strange gem of a TRSB fic for a while. One of the most vivid explorations of Melkor's impact on the environment in Middle-earth, of serious Elven cultural differences and the notion of Finrod as a kinslayer (while a very Finrod-loving story; he shines in this, making connections as is his wont). Also, won my heart for putting mangroves in Valinor.

My own fics

bite thy wings and let thee crawl (Melkor/Maglor, noncon macro/micro horror porn inspired by this art by @aquaregiaart and Lay of Leithian, E) - the Big Melkor fic, set during Maedhros' captivity. In my head this is my best work of 2023 and probably ever. Come closer... give him a click.... he can't hurt you....

Less Wise (sapphic Maglor/Thranduil, canon divergence, E) - pining with a happy ending in an AU where kinslayer fem!Maglor has come to serve Mirkwood's king fem!Thranduil. This was my attempt to write the sort of comforting and cathartic fic I so enjoy reading.

elvenkings (here on tumblr as well) (moments ft. Orodreth, Thranduil, Elwing, Elrond, G) - my drabbles fic for Sindar Week 2023 about the long-lasting echoes of Menegroth and Iathrim heritage. I'm really happy this brief story resonated!

pursuit (Tulkas/Nessa and Oromë/Nessa, genderfluid Nessa, M) - Nessa and Tulkas wed. Smut and mythical vibes ft. confident and changing Nessa, the dancer and the god of prey. I love that weird Ainur shit.

yes many and beautiful things (Maedhros/Maglor during the War of Wrath, M, now with art by @aquaregiaart!) - After their final argument about stealing the Silmarils, Maedhros and Maglor share themselves with each other wholeheartedly one last time before the end; sort of a "what if they loved each other and that was worse."

Offers of editing/beta-ing or just general requests to read any of these fics as-is are almost always accepted, so if you’re particularly interested in seeing one of these, let me know.  I write pretty non-linearly, so it’s almost impossible for me to start posting something before it’s almost finished just because the beginning may be the last part I write.  I usually have some kind of outline or a structure in mind, though.

Active WIPs, in no particular order:

Bind - Further chapters of this fic, focussing on Eonwe’s slow recovery from an Age of captivity and growing relationship with Ingwion during the latter stages of the War of Wrath.  Slow-burn romance with lots of hurt-comfort and chaste intimacy while Eonwe wrestles with what personhood and identity mean for him as one of the maiar and heals from the physical and emotional wounds inflicted during his time in Angband. 

I have a fairly well-developed narrative so far.  I need to go back and do some revisions and fill in a few gaps (the worst part) before I can post the next chapter, but I at least have sketched-out ideas and a few developed scenes for several more chapters after that.

“The (long) serious Manwe/Ingwe fic.” - Manwe and Ingwe’s evolving relationship from Ingwe’s first visit to Valinor and their quick friendship and uncertain flirtations, through the reunion and consummation of their relationship after the Great Journey, the joyous Years of the Trees, the tension of Melkor’s time in Valinor, the trauma of the Darkening of Valinor, and healing in the aftermath.  May or may not extend as far as the War of Wrath or beyond; we’ll see.   I started out thinking this would be a medium-length fic, maybe three chapters.  I should know better.  It’s turned into a monster.  Admittedly this is by and large because I’m getting a great deal of enjoyment out of exploring Manwe and Ingwe’s relationship with all its resonance and complexity.  Lots of exploration of how to characterize the Valar; the existential relationship between the elves and the ainur; erotic desire as a metaphor for desire for the divine (on both sides); the nature of the ainur and their relationship with Arda; the relationship of the elves to Arda; the trauma and consequences of Melkor’s rebellion as it resonates through those most intimately involved with it, Manwe in particular, and how they begin to come to terms with it and heal.  I have a good chunk of the “fun” (shippy) bits of it written, but I need to go back and write Ingwe’s initial journey to Valinor and then his return to the elves in Middle-earth.  I keep working on it, but who knows when it will be finished.  The outline keeps expanding.

Finarfin, after turning back from the Helcaraxe - A bit piecemeal and undeveloped but still something I want to pursue, this fic is an exploration of the consequences and difficulties Finarfin faced after turning back at the Doom of Mandos.  Emotional hurt/comfort and my take on Finarfin’s relationships with Earwen, Olwe, Indis, Ingwe, the Valar, and others who remain in Valinor, particularly as one of those elves who was born and raised in Valinor in close relationship to the Valar and Maiar.  

Durin/Daeron - the thing Heget accidentally inspired with her “Daeron in Khazad-dum” posts, in which Daeron’s disappearance from the narrative is due to him getting tired of being a tragic minstrel in the woods and realizing that the only place in Beleriand he can safely go to escape the whole Luthien mess is Khazad-dum, and promptly finds himself some dwarven tradesmen who are delighted to bring a famed bard home with them.  As a politically powerful figure and the inventor of the Cirth, Daeron is gladly welcomed by Durin with all honor.  It takes several Ages, reincarnation cycles on both parts, and a lot of angst and pining, but they subsequently have a very happy marriage with a lot of kinky sex, some of which I wrote here.  I have a pretty detailed outline of this fic, but not much else.

Finrod and Namo - I keep writing exploratory pieces trying to make something work, because I think their relationship has a ton of potential, but nothing has quite stuck yet.

Manwe/Ingwe kink fic - Public claiming and throne sex, because I insisted it could be done while staying in character and set out to prove it, and also have Very Strong Feelings about how fealty-kink should be handled.  It took a bit to find a scenario that worked, but now I’m having fun writing something that’s just a hair shy of being straight-up PWP with one of my all-time OTPs.  No angst or pining, definitely no dubcon or humiliation, just enthusiastic and demonstrative sex both to prove a point and because they can and it’s fun.  Established relationship, explicit sex, so far also some breathplay.  Only roughly a page written, but on the other hand this is actually looking like it’ll stay pretty short, it’s not especially complicated.  Compatible with “the long serious fic” and may eventually get folded in or posted as a side-story to it, depending on how the plot-hook works in relation to the longer fic.

Wolf and Fey - In desperation to protect his realm, a prince of the Fair Folk attempts to lure in an unwary traveler to be a midwinter sacrifice.  The only traveler to come by is decidedly wary though, and turns out to not be a mortal at all, but a wolf-spirit from the far east whose pack was lost.  M/M romance with ritual sex.

The vaguely-period BDSM fic about a very pretty blond young man’s discovery of the pleasures of submission.

The decadent fairy court incest slave fic.  Except it actually has a fairly complicated political set-up to establish what’s going on, the slavery is specifically the punishment for treason not a societal norm, and at least half the slaves are enjoying themselves.  

The urban fantasy sentient sex-club series, which is more a vague concept than anything concrete just yet.  Suffice to say it stars a sex-club which also happens to be an eldritch being of immense power which feeds on sexual pleasure, and various sexually frustrated individuals who walk through its doors.

Also a few pieces of artwork, since thanks to antidepressants I’m slowly becoming motivated to actually do things and make stuff again.  Pretty much all Ingwe/Manwe, and one full-length portrait of Ingwe.
