Morgoth and his first dragons
My fiancé got me to watch the Lord of the Rings movies, and as a result I have been obsessed with the lore. Then I saw that video of squeaking baby crocodiles in a bath tub and went "I wonder if baby dragons sound like that?"

Maedhros escaped the saw-trap
Melkor, pointing to Maedhros’s severed hand swingin from the chain on Thangorodrim: YOU LET HIM ESCAPE?!? Mairon, with a drink in his hand: I WAS ON BREAK.

Whenever the dragons slay and do well, Mairon calls them as "our children"
Whenever the dragons mess up, eat his stuff or a thrall he still needed, Mairon calls them as "Melkor's children"

Difficult to fell asleep, because there's a question bothering me:
Why did the Valar choose their spouse only from Valar? There were also a lot of Maiar.🤔Were they actually arranged marriages? Or were the Vala-Maia romantic actually strictly forbidden? And of course, considering there are so many Maiar and only 15 Valar, the possibility for the Maiar of being picked by a Valar is pretty slim.
Think of it this way, isn't Melkor and Marion's love kind of romantic? Think about it, Melkor, the most powerful being in existence, who arises in mighty, choose "the one", Mairon, over million of Maiar. And Marion, as a little Maia, fell in love with that big, dark, scary Vala? I would discribe it as a brave.
Don't take the silly thing above so seriously, it's just a headconon!😂

Gil Galad and Colomë (Melron)
When Colomë (Melron) learned about all the atrocities his parents did to Arda and Gil Galad's family… he felt like he would suffocate and his heart would be torn apart 💔.
Melron was born as the second child of Morgoth the Vala and Mairon the Maia. He inherited a lot of his parents strength but most of he got the true spirit of a Maia in him. All that Mairon lost when he was still on Almaren and decided to turn to Melkor, he gave to his second child. Melron always tried to save his parents, tried to rescue their souls from darkness and he nearly died from trying. When he grew up he saw no other way than to leave his family and seek a new life to finally be his true self. As a child he secretly left Angband a few times to meet little Ereinion, that elf boy was Melron's only connection to the outside world, so he looked for him after he left. Being totally overwhelmed by the beauty and the possibilities of that new world he seeked for someone to lead him and only saw that someone in that beloved elf playmate he had as a child. After a long and lonely journey Melron would finally find Lindon.. He gave himself a new identity and name, he would now be Colomë the Maia. Colomë means Golden Voice as he loves to sing, some of the good things he inherited from his mother Maia. When the elven king noticed that a Maia came to his town he invited Colomë to get to know each other. After a while they fell in love and Colomë became the Maia of Lindon, protecting the city with his Maia blessing spells. He was always honest towards Gil Galad and told him everything about his origin. They both listened to each others tales and stories and so Colomë learned about the true expand of Morgoth and Sauron's atrocities for the first time….he never wanted to get back and promised Gil Galad and Elendil, who joined them later, to stay by their sides and to fight Sauron.

One thing I love is that Tolkien never gives any specifics about Sauron's appearance in the Silmarillion, beyond the facts that he is "fair" and "beautiful." Unlike with many other Tolkien characters, there's no mention of his hair or eye color, his height, or anything else about his physical appearance as Annatar or any of his other fair forms.
It could just be because he is a shapeshifter and such details aren't important, as they aren't permanent, but I think Tolkien was a clever enough writer to have an additional purpose for it.
It allows the reader to picture Sauron as whatever is most fair to them.
In a way, it grants Sauron with the very power of shapeshifting that he has in the books; he can appear different to each reader and form himself into whatever is most fair and seductive in their own eyes.

Baby Sauron, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo 💖
Full disclosure: I imagine Mairon with gold-red hair, BUT for the sake of (trying to) compose a striking image, I went for black + flames... I hope you like it <:

King of Nargothrond , Five Act Tragedy
“I go now to my long rest in the timeless halls beyond the seas and the Mountains of Aman. It will be long ere I am seen among the Noldor again; and it may be that we shall not meet a second time in death or life, for the fates of our kindreds are apart. Farewell!' He died then in the dark, in Tol-in-Gaurhoth, whose great tower he himself had built.

The Silmarillion fandom is collapsing.
Has anyone else noticed a lot of people leaving the silmarillion just general Tolkien fandom? Especially on tumblr. One of my favourite Silm blogs deleted their whole account and just disappeared. I’m seeing a lot of amazing creators put out their farewell statements. I absolutely don’t blame anyone who is choosing to leave and especially if it’s just because they’re not happy anymore or are moving on to other things. But I’m noticing that a lot of people are being very negative and some creators have explicitly stated that this has impacted them leaving and losing love and interest for something that once made them so happy because of all the negativity aimed at them. It’s so sad. Also wtf this is a hobby and some people are so demanding with creators like they’re not creating things unpaid and in their free time. Hating on people for what they love and find comfort in or calling them weird for liking and having different takes on certain FICTIONAL characters is disgusting and you’re absolutely the problem if you do that.
To any creators seeing this I just want you to know how much your work is and contribution is appreciated. Especially since it’s not that big of a fandom on here.
