Hello lads, it’s been a while, here is some Bruce banner stuff because I like Bruce, I have a type oké it’s dorky men. Anyway hope you enjoy!

Summary: Reader is new to the lab and has a hard time bonding with Bruce.

Exactly 2 weeks ago today you joined the avengers, though you doubted if you could even call it that, you worked in the lab you researched things taken from other worldly beings that the actual avengers defeated.

With the lab came Bruce Banner, you loved his work, no you admired it. When you started working there you expected to hit it off, both of you liked science both of you were hard working and serious when it came to your research. But you didn’t, at all.

The first day Bruce was working so when you introduced yourself letting him know that you would also use the space that he saw as his he didn’t take it as good as you wished, now he shook your hand and smiled but you could see it in his eyes, he wasn’t happy.

Your suspicions were confirmed when you went to get coffee and heard Bruce and Tony talking, actually just Bruce talking over Tony, listing why he didn’t need anyone else in the lab and that he could handle it himself, that it was better to work alone. Safe to say after that you stopped trying to be at least friendly with each other.

And now we are here 1,5 weeks after hearing Bruce talk about how unnecessary you were, both of you were working on different things collected from soms nasty creatures that just appeared in central New York. You had some kind of gooey grey stuff, and Bruce had a plant. Safe to say you were jealous, you love plants you know everything about them so when you saw it you knew immediately where it came from, your job allowed you to research other plants including those of different planets, the plant Bruce was working on had only been seen once before on earth, by your former lab partner.

You continued your work, being to scared to talk to Bruce after hearing how he talked about you, you ended up being finished after 15 hours, having found out everything you could about the weird substance.

You went to grab your stuff getting ready to go home to still get a small bit of sleep before returning tomorrow, but as you were about to grab your coat you heard Bruce sigh and throw his glasses on the table.

Feeling bad for him you decided to just walk up to him, he was sitting in his chair elbows on his desk and hands in his hair, you asked him if he was oke and in the typical Bruce way he just replied with a short “yes”. You stood there for a while before deciding to just ask him, and so you did, you told him that if he was oke with it you’d like to help, as you really liked plants and had seen this one before, and with that last bit his eyes lit up.

Bruce got up and made you tell everything you knew about the plant while he excitedly listened, after that he asked you to please stay so the two of you could research the plant further together, and so you did.

The two of you ended up pulling an all-nighter getting to know each other and getting to know the plant more, both of you ended up leaving the lab at 7 AM and decided to get some breakfast together.

Perhaps a friendship really wasn’t as impossible as it seemed.

Bruce Banner aka Hulk gotta be one of the best exampled of how i as a kid hated action bc i loved Bruce Banner and hated Hulk. Obviously when the action would start Bruce would often turn into the Hulk and bc i hated action I found Hulk to be incredibly boring.

(another example would be the movie "Incredibles" i liked the start of the movie but when the action started i found it boring. Now on older age i can appreciate Syndrome as a great villain.)
