Validating Love 2
Validating Love 2
I really need to know who you say that you are
We must go through some process of validation
Could you please tick every box that has a car
I want to be sure you are not a figment of imagination
Now the next part is simply all you need to do
Is to enter a password I sent in a message to you
To use with the dating scanner to give me a clue
So your face matches your picture this method is new
Why is it we no longer take things on trust
Why are so many willing to lie to your face
Now that honesty has apparently turned to dust
So we must validate everything against a database
Can you use you phone to send me a fingerprint
I need to check against the records the agency sent
If it matches then I’ll message ‘That’s mint’
If not then I shall suspect that you’re bent
Life was simpler when we simply agreed to meet
I’d bring along a friend and you would name the place
I’d wear a carnation and you’d have brogues on your feet
But at least we’d see each other face to face

Hypocrites
Hypocrite
I am against the war in principle I just wanted you to know
But you must realize my country has an economy that needs to grow
Of course the truth is that I did sell them guns and ammunition
Surely you would have done the same had you been in my position
I know this sounds so dreadful with all the lives that are being lost
But if I were to decide to take sides then that would come at a cost
You must understand the logic when we decided to buy his oil
That he has been a good friend to me and I felt I should be loyal
I did send an envoy for peace to show I am not on anyone’s side
I have been very open about this and really I have nothing to hide
What a shame that all those people who are innocent have to die
I know I sold him the drones and I’ve told you the reason why
You see I remember when things got nasty back at home
He was the one who came to my rescue with a large loan
So that I could buy tanks and war planes for my military
So I do see him as a fellow leader for a great destiny
I continue to oppose the war but you know I must abstain
From any vote that might suggest one side or the other’s to blame
So really I am just waiting for one side to say they’ll give way
But I am trying to trade with both so I will leave you to pray
I know this sounds nonsense to give guns then say don’t attack
You can’t send anyone over a border they have to come back
But this is reality and so I really see no reason to hurry
I’m sure someone will think of an answer but I am not going to worry

Unreal
Unreal
This world that I live in is not an illusion
The world is a selfish expression of all that we are
Leaders prepared to kill and maim for their brief moment of glory
Our day to day lives might well be the first chapter of a horror story
The arrogance that goes with the discharge of sewage into rivers and streams
We are building a land where nobody cares and nobody cleans
We shall keep burning oil until the very last drop has gone
If you are asking who cares the answer may be none
Is there really a green country? Can you name one?
We have discarded plastic to choke up our seas
For a throwaway land where you just do as you please
Why is it we look the other way with such ease?
There is poverty knocking on every door
Food banks for all those folks with no money for the store
Politicians claiming that nobody is really poor
Sweeping truth under a red carpet laid upon the floor
Money squandered on fashion just for one night out
Closing their eyes to the homeless that live round about
The world that I live in just seems so unreal
For the wealthy this world might be their idea of paradise
With refugees starving by the millions do we really think that is nice
Your future is burning before you and you are paying the price

Within the head
Within the head
I wonder just how many people dread
Living every day with those thoughts within the head
The temptations by which we may be led
A darkness that often surfaces when we go to bed
Thoughts that we have that will never be said
So we hope for a peaceful sleep instead
What if your thoughts were the same as mine
Does darkness then become light and shine
Somewhere in dark memory there might be a sign
Like a spout rising up from the brine
Can also bring havoc to what was divine
Yet this invitation within I am trying to decline
Still it haunts with its daily whine
Somewhere in my head a monster is sleeping
Trying to escape captivity it is pleading
But deep down within I still fear its seeking
What if your monster and mine are meeting
Will eruption result from the overheating
Is this evil or love that is greeting
There was one moment of daylight that was fleeting
Emotions seem to be erupting from the confusion
Reality I pray will replace this illusion
Yet if your mind and mine embrace our evolution
Are the monsters acting together in collusion
I sense taboos are being shattered by consensual fusion
Will our minds meet and exchange in some form of transfusion
We might try and explore to see if we reach a conclusion

We are the roots of our existence
We are the roots of our existence
We pretend we can move on and that we can leave each other
Convincing ourselves that past memories will fade slowly away
But whilst the pictures may sometimes seem hard to recall
Their effects are still stored deep within those dark halls
We are both shaped and we shape ourselves
This mystery we call character was slowly formed over time
Those special events that stay with us as the guide
Often for pleasure but sometimes as a torment we cannot hide
There are flashes from a past that invade my mind
Unexpectedly and occasionally leaving me feeling uncomfortable
I am left wondering why they remind me of being unkind
Whilst there are others that allow pleasure to surface and bring a smile
The day then seems so much brighter as I pass the time
All of these are the roots that I laid down in the past
In this fragile soil that we dare to call life
We can pretend to change and make all of this go away
But if the tree is uprooted then the tree will surely die
So we cling to these roots whether we are aware or not
Because in the end this is part of life’s plot
You may think you can change but what if you cannot

Conversation without words
Conversations without words
I guess that everything started with the look
Just a casual glance in my direction
Not that I was aware that this was a hook
Yet looking back I recognize the connection
Then that swift glance again as you left the room
That turn of the head that you knew that I would see
The suggestion that this conversation could resume
The unspoken words passing between you and me
On the escalator you were going up as I was going down
Still you had time to throw me a smile as we passed
You knew I could not resist and would turn around
An invitation without words that you had asked
I saw you at the store and you gave me a wink
Was this just ‘hello’ or was it something more
Then as we went through the checkout I began to blink
We the nod and smile you gave as you walked out the door
Next day at the office you gave me a quick wave
I wondered if really you were just passing by
At the back of my mind I wondered ‘Was I your slave?’
I was becoming fixated with you I do not deny
Then we met in the local park and you blew me a kiss
Should I show more interest or are you leading me on
You blew me another and I thought this must be bliss
I was convinced I was getting the big ‘C’mon’
Your finger beckoned me saying ‘Come over here’
As we met again on the train journey home
The message now seemed to be perfectly clear
You had a message for me and did not need the phone
We sat together on the bench in the park
You turned to me and our lips kind of just met
Now I was convinced I would not be left in the dark
The pathway to happiness was surely set
You took my hand and I was led away
Into a world of pleasure deep within your arms
You showed me how to love in every way
My life was swallowed up with your charms
I awoke in the morning on cloud 99
You were the champagne and I had pulled the cork
It now seems so amazing and really quite divine
How much you learn without having to talk

Through the window pane
Through the window pane
The plastic of the frame had faded over the years
Dust adhering to the unwashed glass
Peering at blurred images of people as they pass
I entered a dream as time turned back the years
She was always there as a part of every dream
A blurred image staring at me through the pane
Eyes that induced guilt and sought to resurface shame
A dreaded memory of a darker past I wished unseen
The background ever-changing with the passing of time
She held my gaze and I feared the glass would shatter
Shards would cut my face and blood would splatter
Drops would become congealed with dust and grime
Beyond her another figure was now drawing near
Walking through a crowd that taunted with ridicule
The ever-changing faces of all those I tried to fool
Coming back to haunt me and striking fear
The more I stared the more the angry faces would appear
Reviving a murk past that had left its stain
Then a splash of water hit the dirty window pane
A hand moved across to wipe away the smear

I fell in love with her teeth
I fell in love with her teeth
Her breath felt warm and then so hot upon my cheek
As she moved that lipstick covered mouth slowly towards mine
A redness of danger but of enticement
Luring and exciting
To make the pulse beat faster
Then came the pleasures as lips came close and met
Sweet soft seducing surfaces slip slowly over mine
Tips of tongues move out and touch
I feel the intoxication of a moistness shared
Never did my body seem to love as much
An instant attraction that bonded us
Deep within me the passion flared
then came the burning moment of her desire
Her mouth sought out the softness of my neck
Those beautiful pointed canine teeth
Quenched the thirst of her fire
This blood-bonded love could no longer be held in check
Howling wolves made music every time that love was shared
Upon the full moon nights we would burn the stake
She took her bounteous fill
In our love nothing was ever spared
Nocturnal passion invaded every corner of my mind
How the heartache now overwhelms our desires
For the years have passed and comes the curse of age
I am heartbroken
So in these words I must enquire
For if in such manner we are to continue to engage
Where do I get dentures for a vampire

Roberta and Bert Pig Farmers
Roberta and Bert Pig Farmers
Saddlebacks, Curly Coats and Whites
Living in rows in the city of styes
As far as you could see with your eyes
With a loud sound of snoring at nights
It’s hard to fall in love with hogs and sows
It’s easier to write of a wind that soughs
But the greatest fear of Roberta and Bert
Is that pigs can stink and then it’s so hard to flirt
Try being romantic when you still smell of their dirt
Even your smalls under trouser or skirt
Could lead to embarrassment and then you feel hurt
One summer’s evening perchance they wished to attend the same dance
But the well of Roberta was dry and Bert, not wishing to seem shy,
Offered her the use of his shower
Because they both STANK
He gave her some soap enough for a great soak
She took a lunge with a sponge to lather her bum and the rest
Up and down and around carefully doing each breast
She massaged for an hour but was still in the shower
When she reached the conclusion
She still STANK
Modesty had no place so she called to Bert to lend her his hand
To help with those parts she couldn’t reach, he would understand
He reached through the curtain and she placed his hand
To rub her and scrub her where she would demand
But the time went by and she knew
She still STANK
This application of soap failed to lather their hope
So Bert jumped inside and they hoped with a grope
He ascended and descended with scrubber and rubber
With strokes of the luffa and a dose of bath oil
Each lathered the other to try to move soil
Roberta looked up where the water was flowing
Her body seemed clean and her skin was glowing
She pushed and she pulled to change his head
Thinking a jet not a spray might work instead
Certainly there was improvement
When it came with a spurt
But when they stepped out they knew
They still STANK
The problem with pigs is that they do leave this scent
If you work closely with them you may resent
Their effect upon you and express a dissent
Bur Roberta and Bert realized a message had been sent
If the scent of the pig they could not cover
And if each of them could not find another
Well they’d best just settle for each other
