Crazy how i went from hating stevetony and having winteriron as like. My otp I Guess, when i had my first marvel phase years ago, to now having stevetony have won that spot from winteriron lmao. Just in terms of it being a ship not in their character dynamic. Like this is just my personal feelings about it i respect em both etc . Just to me (i guess i also feel this bc im projecting somewhat) i just prefer tony and bucky to be friends, but i think tony and buckys dynamic, no matter what relationship they're in, is so so interesting and still genuinely rivals steve and tonys dynamic for making me insane, though I hadnt read anything for it in years until i read sinealas new fic. Just. Aaaaaauhgjhg. They live through similar/parallel traumatic events and come out of it with similar understandings of the world with different approaches to acting it out (that understanding being: i am worth the most to society as a weapon that atones for my past sins) (and their approaches being: i am going to right my wrongs from the background where nobody can get in my way or lay eyes on me vs im going to put myself on the line and be the one taking the blame in the spotlight hiding what good i may do behind a mask because its what i deserve) . And its very interesting I love reading it in any format i love them coming to understand each others feelings and realizing despite how they absolutely shouldnt relate to each other they very much do.
#buckyyy so sorry the st*ckies ruined ur fanon self for years#if u r wondering what i mean by projecting and thus seeing them as platonic#well: am aroace. do kin tony. i think my brain is like well this is like if i had mutual understanding with someone#in which case we'd at most be qpps#this is why im like its entirely a me thing that i dont particularly see them that way. it doesnt like bother me or anything tho lmao#when they are understood as characters though and played off of each other well. MMMMMMMM YES.#it is like jotaro and kakyoin in a mild way not the same same but the same relationship type. they have a mutual understanding#i can see stevetony fine because steve and tony make each other better and worse and theyre insane for it thats craziness gbless <3 luv it#steve and tony theoretically dont have similar lives and life experiences but have ended up at the same train station of life#both have ended up with similar ways of carrying themselves but with different outlooks#causes them to work together and understand each other well. also causes them to have deep fundamental differences#and react to those differences in ways the other can hardly understand#tension. craziness. so interesting#sorry for rambling but also i guess i shouldnt be this is the first actual marvel post on here in a while huh lolll#i havent read a tony fic in a long time and i havent read winteriron in so long . last time i read it my friend wrote it rly well#but i think she took down her ao3 and i havent had the will to go search out more or god forbid risk reading an mcu fic /hj#anyway#marvel#tony stark#bucky#winteriron#the gamer speaks uwu

For the ask game: Winn/Opaka; Kate Pulaski/Deanna Troi/Beverly Crusher; Kira Dax/Lenara Kahn, specifically post-Jadzia's death; Worf/Sisko; Geordi LaForge/Miles O'Brien; Nyota Uhura/Christine Chapel; Keiko O'Brien/Garak; Dukat/his own hand while standing in front of a mirror & an itemised list of his achievements starting from age 3.
Thank you for this ask! You guys really delivered, I spent the entire day in bed AND replying to these & I didn’t even see time pass, so thank you to everybody who sent in an ask, I really appreciate it <3
I’ll cut this one for length.
I already addressed Winn/Opaka, so I’ll skip that one if you don’t mind.
Kate Pulaski/Deanna Troi/Beverly Crusher: I ship it
What made you ship it?
Since Kate joins Enterprise as a replacement for Beverly, & since in S2E7 Deanna mentions to Picard that she’s been spending time with Kate & is thus able to comment on her performance as CMO, I choose to believe that Deanna & Kate start a thing around that time & that they stay in touch once Kate leaves the ship, & that over time they absorb Beverly into that relationship. It’s more that Deanna is dating the both of them at first, but I can see Kate & Beverly quickly growing closer: they’ve got similar personalities & similar outlooks & I think they most probably knew each other before Pulaski was posted on the Enterprise. They might even have attended Starfleet Medical together, right? Hmm. Wonder what might have happened there - & if meeting again through Deanna wasn’t more of a second honeymoon thing…
What are your favorite things about the ship?
All three are cool characters with different motivations & I think that they’d be really good for each other - in the sense that what one needs in a relationship, the other two can provide. All in all they’d be a really strong throuple & once they’ve taken over the Enterprise no one will be safe… Picard’s just gonna spend the rest of his life hiding in his ready room because he’ll be too scared of the absolute dream team that is the Pulaski/Troi/Crusher triangle. “Bridge to Picard” - “No… *wet sobbing noises*”
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Kate Pulaski is a good character & she’s not a big meanie who hates Data. Beverly Crusher is a bad doctor (like, terrible. Just imagine going to her for something that’s a little more sensitive than a broken rib from Parrises Squares & you’ll see what I mean).
Kira/Dax/Lenara Kahn: I ship it
What made you ship it?
This one I had never even considered but it’s a wholehearted YES from me. I can see Lenara coming back to the station (maybe after the war?) because she learned of Jadzia’s death & is looking for - maybe not closure but… something? Perhaps even she doesn’t know what she’s looking for. & she finds Kira, still reeling from the war & Jadzia’s death & trying to figure out where she stands now, & Ezri, who’s just thrown herself into the most toxic relationship she could’ve possibly found on the station & who’s definitely on a path to self-destruction; & one night all three of them are sitting in Quark’s with drinks they’ve barely touched & they’re talking about things that don’t matter to any of them, & then somehow they find themselves in Lenara’s guest quarters & they hook up, & it’s a mixture of grief & pent-up sexual energy & frustration about the way the war ended & Ezri’sl life going to shit & Lenara sort of regretting having come here. & of course, Ezri carries the symbiont’s memory of the previous hosts & so does Lenara, & you’ve got the symbionts themselves in there as well… Perfect. Mwah.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The way that a lot more people & entities than just the three of them would be involved in this relationship. They all meet in the middle but behind each of them they carry many more people.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Ezri is not a replacement for Jadzia & should not be judged as such. Yes, Nicole de Boer replaced Terry Farrell on the show, but a new Trill host is not a replacement for the previous one & it’s unfair to judge Ezri as a character in contrast to Jadzia. Also, Ezri is an interesting character & that’s a hill I’ll die on.
Worf/Sisko: I don’t ship it
Why don't you ship it?
Mainly because of Worf - I don’t think he’d ever, ever consider a relationship with a superior officer & if he ever happened to break that rule he would feel horrible about it. I could see him resigning his commission & exiling himself to a Klingon monastery over something like this. One day he just disappears on a shuttle to Q’onoS & no one knows why (not even Ben!)
What would have made you like it?
I think I’d like it if it specifically included Worf exiling himself to a Klingon monastery over it & both him & Ben having to deal with what that means - & you’d talk about loss & faith & what’s right & what’s wrong, & how people who are very different can still connect, etc. Am I writing the blurb for my next fic here? Maybe! We can never know.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
Whatever happens, it can never be boring. There’s nothing these two men can do that would make a fic about them boring. It’s all Game of Thrones-style political manoeuvres & deep feelings & epic quests, there’s no way to make it uninteresting!
EDIT: I just realised that by the time I finished writing that section I'd changed my mind about this pairing? So I guess I ship it now! Amazing.
Geordi LaForge/Miles O’Brien: I ship it
What made you ship it?
I had never considered it before today but you know what? It makes sense, & I like it. Now what I need to decide is which I like best: if they get together while Miles still serves on the Enterprise or if they reconnect once he’s settled into his new position as Chief Engineer on DS9. I think I’ve got a slight preference for the latter; first, because that means the hyperfixation technobabble conversation potential is off the fucking charts, & second because I think it would remove a layer of hero worship Miles might’ve had for the flagship’s Chief Engineer while he was still serving with him.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The “we are autistic about warp drives” vibes; Geordi’s bubbly charm vs. Miles’ panicked stiffness; the fact that some might think that there’s a strange mismatch between them but when you look closer they actually make total sense.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Geordi LaForge should be shipped with more people than just Data. I see the appeal of DaForge (& I don’t NOT ship it, I guess) but multishipping is cool actually & Geordi especially is a character you can ship with a lot of other characters. He’s easygoing, friendly, fun & charming, & there’s really many characters he’d be fun to ship with!
Nyota Uhura/Christine Chapel: a classic, but I just realised that I don’t ship it (oops)
Why don't you ship it?
I guess I just don’t see it. There’s really no other reason. Sorry, this one is really boring, haha!
What would have made you like it?
More interactions between them might have swayed me, I suppose? But then I think that they’re very different people & that more interactions might’ve just reinforced my opinions, lol.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
The sex they’d have would be insane. People talk about the noises coming from Kirk’s quarters but what about the hours-long lesbian fucking happening in Uhura’s quarters??
Keiko O’Brien/Garak: I ship it
What made you ship it?
I ship it in one specific setting, which is as follows: they tried it once, because they were both in a weird headspace & it seemed appealing - & then the sex wasn’t really good & they were both sort of weirded out & they never did it again. It happened either in the arboretum where they had been tending to Keiko’s projects & Garak’s flower & gossiping, or it happened after a lunch date in Garak’s changing rooms. They never talk about it & there’s an unspoken rule that they never talk about it to anyone - not because Keiko cheated on Miles (the O’Brien’s have an open marriage) but because they can’t acknowledge it in any way. After a few months Keiko relaxes about it & she tells Miles (he promises not to tell anyone, & he doesn’t) but Garak is taking that secret to his grave (there’s really no reason to but he insists on it).
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The vibes are so off & it’s delicious <3
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I think that when Garak says he’s all alone & doesn’t have any friends he is lying for dramatic effect, & that he’s actually very fond of Keiko as a friend & he knows that she’s very fond of him too. Is that unpopular? I don’t know, but I feel like it could be.
Dukat/his own hand, etc.: this one is canon so I won’t elaborate.

Like father, like daughter: Prince Philip and Princess Anne's bond was unrivalled
The father and daughter shared many of the same characteristics, outlook and interests which resulted in a relationship of mutual admiration
By Brian Hoey for The Telegraph
The Duke of Edinburgh and his daughter, Anne, the Princess Royal, enjoyed membership of an exclusive, two-person admiration society. It was a relationship that was totally unqualified and neither father nor daughter could see any wrong in the other; indeed, one way in which to annoy either one was to criticize the other.
They shared many of the same characteristics of being outspoken, abrasive, stubborn, strong-willed and sarcastic, and also the same sense of humour, which was often at the expense of others. Neither would ever suffer fools gladly – or at all – and both were impatient with those who did not grasp things as quickly as they did themselves.
It is from Prince Philip that Anne has inherited her total honesty and unwillingness to compromise on matters she believes in.
It all began when Anne was still a young girl. She quickly realised that she would have to take second place to her brother, Prince Charles. As she once told me, “I became used from an early age to being a ‘Tail-end Charlie.’”
Philip, who from the moment of his wife’s accession to the throne, was also forced to take a subordinate role, immediately started to instruct his only daughter in how to handle the frustrations and tribulations of a court life where all the attention was on her brother.
People always said that Anne was her father’s girl, and she has never contradicted anyone who expressed such an opinion. She has the same attitude to life and very similar forthright opinions – particularly about the media. They both had a tendency to be abrupt with photographers, especially when one was competing in a sporting event, and neither was ever afraid of giving offence, occasionally with the accompanying four-letter word.
There is a strong physical resemblance and some similar mannerisms. Anne loves sport and when she was growing up she was constantly with her father when he was playing polo. It was Philip who taught Anne to sail, on Loch Muick, on the Balmoral Estate, and it was he who directed her enthusiasms towards sporting rather than academic achievements.
Tumblr media
Indeed, nobody was more pleased or proud than her father, when Anne won the European Three-Day Event Equestrian Championship in 1971 and then went on to represent Britain at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. Both were extremely competitive and neither believed that coming second was something to aim for. Princess Anne frequently tops the unofficial league table in the number of public engagements she undertakes in a year. In normal circumstances it is usually around the 500 mark and even during the Covid-19 restrictions, she has still managed to carry out over 300. She says she sees no point in having a day off; neither did Prince Philip.
They both possessed a profound sense of duty and I once asked them (independently) if they found some of the tasks they were asked to perform excruciatingly boring. The replies from each of them were masterpieces in understatement.
Anne merely admitted that “Some are more interesting than others,” while Philip said, “It’s the price we pay for the positions we occupy.” But just because they loved and admired each other, it did not follow that they invariably agreed at all times. They would sometimes argue, hammer and tongs, about various topics in which they both had an interest, such as wildlife or conservation. To any outsider it might have appeared to be a serious row, but they always seemed to end up on the best of terms.
It was a truly genuine father/daughter relationship and one that was cherished equally by them both. It never faltered. There was an almost uncanny telepathy between them. They were on exactly the same wavelength even through Anne’s divorce from Mark Phillips, though privately, her father was greatly distressed as he thought theirs was a marriage that would last.
Tumblr media
Even though it was well known at the Palace that the Duke was ‘incandescent’ with rage when he heard the news of his daughter's affair with Tim Laurence, a former equerry to the Queen, whom she subsequently married, all his anger was directed at Tim, not Anne.
I once spoke to Princess Anne about her parents’ relationship with each other and she said that Prince Philip was the one person in the world who told the Queen what she needed to know. Everyone else, politicians and courtiers told her what they thought she wanted to hear.
If there was one way in which the two were different it was their attitude to outsiders. Philip was always provocative; he seemed to go out of his way to stir up an argument simply to get some sort of debate going, as long as he won in the end, even with strangers. Anne is more like the Queen in that respect. She may disagree with someone’s opinion, but if they are not close friends or acquaintances, she rarely enters into an argument.
Prince Philip’s relationship with his daughter was much closer than that with any of his sons. He was an affectionate father to them all but where Anne was concerned, it was unique. It is well known that Prince Charles and his father did not always see eye to eye, but it was more a case of disappointment on Philip’s part than anger. Being someone who could and would make a decision in an instant, he simply did not understand that Charles did not follow him in that respect.
With Anne it was entirely different. Since childhood, she has been able to decide if she wants to do something – or not. A characteristic she has inherited from her father. Prince Philip was showered with honours during his lifetime and it was he who encouraged Princess Anne to accept the title of Princess Royal in 1987.
She had refused any title for her own children – the Duke’s first grandchildren, to whom he was particularly close – but Prince Philip felt that this would be an acknowledgement of her many years of dedicated public service, so she acquiesced. If it is true that Prince Philip felt his daughter was ‘the son I’ve never had’ then perhaps Anne, the Princess Royal, could be described as his true legacy.

So what do you think of Kaede and Kokichi's relationship? And if Kaede remained the protagonist how do you think it would change?
Considering it’s Kaede’s birthday today I think this is a really fun question to come back to!
Kaede is an absolutely amazing character, and I love how different her relationships with the rest of the cast feel from Saihara’s. She and Ouma have an especially interesting friendship in their FTEs together (one of Kaede’s FTEs with Ouma might be one of my favorite FTEs ever, really), so I don’t mind going a little more in-depth on my thoughts about their dynamic, as well as about how that dynamic and the story itself might’ve changed if Kaede had remained the protagonist!
Warning for spoilers as always, though I’m pretty sure most people know about the chapter 1 twist by now.
I think one of my absolute favorite things about Kaede is just how easy it is to get attached to her in such a short amount of time. She’s only around for the prologue and a single chapter, but despite that (or rather, because of the sheer length of the chapters in ndrv3, which tend to be much longer than dr1 or sdr2’s chapters), we still get to see so many different sides of her and just how complex of a character she really is. And I think that’s largely the reason for her continued popularity to this day: Kaede might not stay around for long, but we still really feel like we know her by the end of it.
And really, I think that’s pretty similar to how the actual characters feel about Kaede themselves. Despite how short her time is with all of them, she leaves such a powerful, lasting impression, even after her death. This is a pretty big change from previous DR games, where the chapter 1 culprits especially tend to suffer a pretty big lack of relevance or relationship to other characters in later chapters. Often times the victims are at least somewhat memorable (Maizono and the Impostor both at least come up a few times in their respective games), but characters like Leon or Teruteru just don’t feel like they have much of an impact on the other characters or the plot itself after their trials are finished.
This is totally different from Kaede, whose positive outlook and outgoing attitude already makes her fairly likable to most of the others, but who also openly invites the others to rely on her once she establishes herself as a leader figure fairly quickly in chapter 1. Most of the other characters latch onto her almost immediately, either because she seems so reliable and helpful (Saihara and Tenko in particular seem to like this about her), or because they can’t help but respect her and what she’s trying to do for the group (characters like Momota, who really values group cooperation, come to mind).
Personally, I think Ouma fell into the latter category. He and Kaede have something of a complicated relationship almost right from the get-go in chapter 1, but it’s still pretty clear that Ouma did respect Kaede a lot and recognized that she had the group’s best interests at heart, even if he didn’t always agree with her methods.
Likewise, I think Kaede was somewhat curious about Ouma and really wanted to get along with him, despite how difficult he could be. We see in Ouma’s introduction, both in the demo and the actual game, that Kaede clearly recognizes on some level that part of his annoying attitude is really just his way of teasing others, and that he doesn’t seem particularly malicious. More specifically, she describes him as “having a childish streak that makes him hard to hate,” which is a pretty spot-on description of Ouma in a nutshell. In short, she knew he was annoying and childish (on purpose, most of the time) but she definitely didn’t think of him as evil or cruel. This may in part also be because she didn’t live long enough to see him embrace the fake villain routine by the end of chapter 4, of course.
Ouma has a few teasing remarks throughout most of the game, but it’s not really until the death road of despair is discovered that he and Kaede butt heads for the very first time. This is because of a big, fundamental difference between their ideologies: while both of them very much have the group’s best interests at heart, they completely disagree when it comes to whether it’s worth it to cooperate as a team or not.
By the end of the game, Ouma is extremely paranoid, refusing to cooperate with absolutely anyone unless it’s out of some mixture of chance and necessity (such as working with Momota in chapter 5). He keeps all his cards close to the chest, and refuses to confide in or trust any of his remaining classmates, believing it’s fully possible any of them could be the ringleader.
But before the events of chapter 4, we see that he’s actually not opposed to the idea of selective cooperation. He strikes up a tentative collaboration with Miu early on, commissioning her to create some extremely useful inventions with the intent of using them to try and end the killing game. He also extends an invitation of cooperation to both Kaede (in one of her FTEs) and Saihara (in chapter 4, in the parlor of the VR world), though he goes about this in such a sly, underhanded, and off-putting way that both of them shoot his offer down flat. Even he’s not beyond the idea of teaming up with people he perceives as “useful” or “smart,” as long as it’s a much smaller, one-on-one effort rather than trusting or working with the entire group.
By contrast, Kaede is someone who believes that group unity is almost a necessity if they want to escape the killing game. This is very much in line with the role she establishes for herself as a leader. Unlike characters like Momota, who has always sort of longed to embrace a “hero” role, or Saihara, who is considerably more awkward and unwilling to be a leader because of how guilty he feels, Kaede’s role is much more about boosting and maintaining the group’s morale.
This is lampshaded several times by the classical music pieces that she references, often in an attempt to either clam the others down or fire them up at the idea of working together and escaping. It’s also a fantastic little clue that her own positive outlook is something a bit more crafted than it seems on the surface; she always tries to be optimistic about things and face her problems head-on, but that’s in large part because she tries to energize herself and present that reliable, dependable persona to the rest of the group. In short, she believes that if she reveals her own uncertainty or lack of faith in her plans, the rest of the group’s trust and morale will fall too.
Like I mentioned, this difference in their outlook is really what begins to cause problems for them once they discover the death road of despair in chapter 1. Kaede sees the tunnel as their one opportunity to escape without having to rely on the killing game itself; even if it’s extremely difficult and damn near impossible to get through it, the chance of injury is a risk she’s willing to take, no matter how many times they have to start over. But Ouma disagrees with this mindset and criticizes her in front of the entire group, pointing out how everyone else is already exhausted and even injured, and saying that she has no right to make that decision for the rest of them.
He even goes a step further and accuses her of strong-arming the rest of them by “denying them the right to give up in an impossible situation.” He claims that by positing herself as an inspirational figure, she has the “moral high-ground” no matter what the rest of them do or say, and clearly doesn’t think it’s possible for them to continue down the death road without someone getting seriously injured, or worse.
These harsh words really take Kaede aback, especially since most of the rest of the group seems to more or less agree with Ouma. She’s extremely hurt—not just by the fact that no one seems to really want to keep going with her plan, but also, I think, because she felt as if Ouma was right on some level. In my opinion, this is why she cries once she’s alone in her room later: because she did feel as though she’d forced everyone else to go along with an unreasonable plan. It’s the first time that we really see the cracks in her leader persona beginning to show, as well as the self-doubt that she carries.
I honestly think many people who dislike Ouma on their first playthrough of the game may have started here, right at this moment. Because so much of this seems to be fairly black-or-white initially—Kaede is presented as the unequivocally good heroine, trying to get everyone to work together and escape, and Ouma by contrast seems mean and unreasonable for arguing with her in front of everyone. We’re not supposed to linger on the fact that he makes several good points about everyone else’s safety and exhaustion because how he goes about it is off-putting and unlikable.
Not only that, but we as first-time players aren’t supposed to know about all the similarities that Ouma and Kaede actually have in common, despite their differences on the matter of group cooperation. We’re not supposed to know just yet that they both want to save the group, no matter what it takes, or that both of them are willing to go to extreme, sometimes morally grey measures in order to try and stop the killing game. We’re not supposed to know right away that Ouma can be every bit as self-sacrificing as Kaede, despite the selfish things that he says in front of the others, or that when push comes to shove, Kaede is willing to lie almost as much as he is.
We don’t know any of that, initially—which is why that scene hits so hard and sets Ouma up to be so unpleasant. But I think going back on a replay and evaluating it again is pretty interesting specifically because of all these similarities that I’ve listed. The fact that they clash here is especially interesting, given the sort of roles they embody to the rest of the group, with Kaede deliberately choosing to be someone that the entire group relies on and finds trustworthy, while Ouma later sets himself up to become a villain who’s hated by everyone. And despite this, their goals are largely one and the same: expose the ringleader and end the killing game.
I think it’s specifically because Kaede realized she couldn’t continue pushing everyone to do the things she wanted them to, no matter how badly she wanted everyone to cooperate and escape together, and that’s ultimately why she turns to Plan B when she hears from Saihara about the bookshelf hiding the ringleader’s lair in the library. And for all that she does want to trust and cooperate with everyone else, she actually goes about this plan in the most Ouma-like way possible: by doing everything herself and without telling anyone her real intentions, not even Saihara.
Something I especially like about Kaede as a character is just how nuanced she is. Because she is simultaneously the brave, trustworthy, outgoing protagonist that we see her as, but she’s also so, so much more than that. She’s fiercely determined and cares about everyone else, yes, but it’s also because she cares so much that she’s willing to do things like lie and attempt murder behind everyone else’s back.
If we look at the audition videos as any sort of clue as to what the characters might’ve been like before the start of the game, I do think there was a somewhat more skeptical, cynical side of Kaede deep down that didn’t quite trust other people—and that’s all the more reason she wanted to trust them and work together with all of them, because she knew exactly how hard it was to do so. It’s such an interesting contrast from Ouma, who could easily have used all his lies and charm to cooperate with people if he wanted to, but who instead continually pushes people away because of his skepticism, all the while pretending to act completely arrogant and self-assured in his plans. Deep down, I think both of them were much more vulnerable than they were ever willing to show in front of other people.
And I think by the end of chapter 1, Ouma became more or less aware of that side of Kaede, once she confesses everything she tried to do to end the killing game. Prior to this, I personally think Ouma still very much liked and respected her guts and her attempts at leading the group, but that he ultimately thought she was doomed by her reliance on trust and cooperation when they didn’t even know who the ringleader was within their group. But I think that after hearing just how far she was willing to go to stop the killing game, including but not limited to lying to everyone else and going behind their backs with her own plan, he couldn’t help but respect her even more. Despite his accusations that she was too soft or naïve for trusting everyone else, her actual attempted solution was far closer to his own outlook than he initially gave her credit for.
This is why, just before Kaede is about to be executed, Ouma drops all of his usual acts and facades with her and gives her a sincere goodbye, telling her that she “wasn’t boring.” And this is really the highest compliment someone like Ouma can give: she did take him by surprise and surpass all his expectations from her, and I do believe he was genuinely sad to see her go when she attempted such a huge sacrifice for everyone else’s sakes.
Truly, the only part of her plan that I think he disagreed with was the act of (attempted) murder in and of itself. He felt that despite her good intentions, she had “crossed a line” that shouldn’t be crossed, and that she fell into the ringleader’s trap the moment the idea of murder crossed her mind. Considering how much DICE’s “no murder” taboo guided Ouma throughout the game, it’s not surprising at all that this is where he disagreed with Kaede. Though ironically, he himself crosses the same line in chapter 4 when he decides the only possible solution to Miu’s attempt on his life is to kill her himself, and therefore winds up getting his hands dirty without ever directly committing murder, much like Kaede herself.
Questioning how they might’ve gotten along if Kaede had actually lived past chapter 1 and continued being the game’s protagonist is interesting, mainly because so many factors would change as a result. Kaede and Saihara are so fundamentally different as protagonists, and Kaede herself is much more in line with what we would expect from a Hope’s Peak protagonist instead. Kodaka himself has described her in an interview as being extremely similar to Asahina, and I personally think she’s something of a combination between Asahina’s outgoing attitude and Maizono’s carefully crafted façade (not to mention moral ambiguity). So it stands to reason that the game and its themes wouldn’t quite be the same if Kaede were still the protagonist.
On the one hand, I do think there would be interesting potential for a possible alliance between her and Ouma, especially given how similar they could both be. Ouma himself proposes such an alliance to her in one of his FTEs, though she does get angry and shoots him down, as I mentioned earlier. But it’s interesting to consider if Kaede might’ve been more willing to cooperate in smaller, one-on-one alliances if she had attempted her plan in chapter 1 and failed without getting executed for it.
There’s also the fact that Ouma claims to remember her and everyone else adamantly in his FTEs with her, even going so far as to claim that she and everyone else forgot about him, even though he never forgot about them. It’s unclear whether he’s referring to his memories from before the game still being intact (which is likely, since he’s pretty skeptical of the flashback lights right away), or if there’s some other explanation for it, but personally, I don’t think it can be dismissed as a complete lie. Even if Kaede herself accuses him of lying and making it all up, he goes uncharacteristically blank and claims that “even he’s not that good at lying.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This adds huge potential to Kaede sticking around, as there could easily be an underlying mystery element. In addition to the trials themselves and the mystery of the outside world, it’d be very possible to explore their dynamic further, as well as why Ouma said the things he did and if he was actually telling the truth about knowing her and everyone else from before. Kaede is absolutely persistent enough that I feel like she would’ve pressed him for details about this, especially once it became clear in the main plot that their memories were unreliable.
On the other hand, it’s really unclear if Ouma would’ve still been willing to offer that alliance to Kaede once she had attempted to commit murder. Assuming the events of chapter 1 stay more or less the same and the only difference is that Kaede survives instead of getting executed, this raises some potential problems with Ouma actually working together with her or trusting her. She did, as he puts it, “cross the line”—even if her murder attempt wasn’t successful, Ouma claims that she was already too far gone the moment she even considered murder as a possible solution. This could definitely cause another clash of opinions between them, especially as Ouma is much too paranoid to work directly with anyone who he thinks might kill him.
Another potential source of conflict in my opinion is the Hope’s Peak flashback light in chapter 5. Unlike Saihara, who deals primarily with questions of “truth or lies” and is ultimately able to see through Tsumugi’s false ultimatum in chapter 6 with the choice of either the “hope ending” or “despair ending,” Kaede is, as I mentioned, much more in line with what you’d expect from a Hope’s Peak protagonist. She’s extremely smart of course, but she has a bit of a reckless, headstrong streak where she tends to act based on emotion rather than reason, and this could get her into quite a lot of trouble once Tsumugi started rewriting everyone’s memories in chapter 5.
Saihara was able to see that both of the choices Tsumugi presented in the final trial were bullshit and would ultimately keep the cycle of Danganronpa ongoing, but I’m not entirely sure if Kaede would realize the same thing, or even if she did eventually realize it, I’m not sure it would’ve been in time to stop it. Because of her self-sacrificing nature, I personally think she would’ve chosen to be one of the sacrifices for the sake of “hope,” much like Amami presumably did in season 52. This ultimately means that Kaede sticking around might have ultimately led to a “bad end” of sorts, where even if the rest of the group went free aside from her and one other sacrifice, Danganronpa itself never gets dismantled and lives to see another season.
The only possible way I see for Kaede to avoid falling into this trap and making this choice is if enough of her classmates rubbed off on her or helped her see things in less black-or-white terms like “hope” or “despair,” and in more nuanced shades of grey instead. But considering how completely fooled almost everyone was in the actual events of the game, it’s difficult to say if this would happen. She would definitely need to talk and debate with someone who viewed the flashback lights a lot more skeptically, whether it was Saihara or Ouma (or maybe even Angie), before she could reach the truth about what Tsumugi and Team Danganronpa were really after.
This analysis has gotten pretty long by this point, so I’ll just wrap things up by saying that I really do love Kaede and Ouma’s friendship, and I think they had more potential of getting along than either of them might’ve realized in canon. Despite their fundamental differences, both of them were two characters who went farther than almost anyone else in trying to stop the killing game, and both of them weren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty if necessary. I think the fact that Ouma claims to remember Kaede and everyone else from before the killing game is super interesting, and I would’ve absolutely loved to see it touched on more if Ouma had lived longer.
All in all, Kaede is such an amazing, morally grey character who really helps to establish what we can expect from the rest of the game, and I think that’s part of what makes her so memorable. Maybe one day we’ll get some sort of DR:IF equivalent where we get a semi-canon look into a scenario where everyone lives, and hopefully there we could see not only more of Kaede being a protagonist figure, but also more of her interactions with Ouma and everyone else.

Why the Clone problem in Star Wars animated media is also a Mandalorian problem, and why we have to talk about it (PART 2)
Hi! I finally finished wrapping this up, so here’s part 2 of what has already become a mini article (you can find Part 1 here, if you like!)
And for this part, it won’t be as much as a critic as part 1 was, but instead I’d like to focus more on what I consider to be a wasted potential regarding the representation of the Clones in the Star Wars animated media, from the first season of The Clone Wars till now, and why I believe it to be an extension of the Mandalorian problem I discussed in part 1 —  the good old colonialism.
Sources used, as always, will be linked at the end of this post!
PART 2: THE CLONES
Tumblr media
Cody will never know peace
So I’d like to state that I won’t focus as much on the blatantly whitewashing aspect, for I believe it to be very clear by now. If you aren’t familiar with it, I highly recommend you search around tumblr and the internet, there are a lot of interesting articles and posts about it that explain things very didactically and in detail. The only thing you need to know to get this started is that even at the first seasons of Clone Wars (when the troopers still had this somewhat darker skin complexion and all) they were still a whitewashed version of Temuera Morrison (Jango’s actor). And from then, as we all know, they only got whiter and whiter till we get where we are now, in rage.
Tumblr media
Look at this very ambiguously non-white but still westernized men fiercely guarding their pin-up space poster
Tumblr media
Now look at this still westernized but slightly (sarcasm) whiter men who for some reason now have different tanning levels among them (See how Rex now has a lighter skin tone? WHEN THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN KKKKKKK) Anyway you got the idea. So without further ado...
2.1 THE FANTASY METAPHOR
As I mentioned before in Part 1, one thing that has to be very clear if you want to follow my train of thought is that it’s impossible to consume something without attributing cultural meanings to it, or without making cultural associations. This things will naturally happen and it often can improve our connection to certain narratives, especially fantastic ones. Even if a story takes place in a fantastic/sci fi universe, with all fictional species and people and worlds and cultures, they never come from nowhere, and almost always they have some or a lot of basing in real people and cultures. And when done properly, this can help making these stories resonate in a very beautifull, meaningfull way. I actually believe this intrisic cultural associations are the things that make these stories work at all. As the brilliant american speculative/science fiction author Ursula K. Le Guin says in the introduction (added in 1976) of her novel The Left Hand of Darkness, and that I was not able to chopp much because it’s absolutely genious and i’ll be leaving the link to the full text right here,
“The purpose of a thought-experiment, as the term was used by Schrodinger and other physicists, is not to predict the future — indeed Schrodinger's most famous thought-experiment goes to show that the ‘future,’ on the quantum level, cannot be predicted — but to describe reality, the present world.
Science fiction is not predictive; it is descriptive.”
[...] “Fiction writers, at least in their braver moments, do desire the truth: to know it, speak it, serve it. But they go about it in a peculiar and devious way, which consists in inventing persons, places, and events which never did and never will exist or occur, and telling about these fictions in detail and at length and with a great deal of emotion, and then when they are done writing down this pack of lies, they say, There! That's the truth!
They may use all kinds of facts to support their tissue of lies. They may describe the Marshalsea Prison, which was a real place, or the battle of Borodino, which really was fought, or the process of cloning, which really takes place in laboratories, or the deterioration of a personality, which is described in real textbooks of psychology; and so on. This weight of verifiable place-event-phenomenon-behavior makes the reader forget that he is reading a pure invention, a history that never took place anywhere but in that unlocalisable region, the author's mind. In fact, while we read a novel, we are insane —bonkers. We believe in the existence of people who aren't there, we hear their voices, we watch the battle of Borodino with  them, we may even become Napoleon. Sanity returns (in most cases) when the book is closed.”
[...] “ In reading a novel, any novel, we have to know perfectly well that the whole thing is nonsense, and then, while reading, believe every word of it. Finally, when we're done with it, we may find — if it's a good novel — that we're a bit different from what we were before we read it, that we have been changed a little, as if by having met a new face, crossed a street we never crossed before. But it's very hard to say just what we learned, how we were changed.
The artist deals with what cannot be said in words.
The artist whose medium is fiction does this within words. The novelist says in words what cannot be said in words. Words can be used thus paradoxically because they have, along with a semiotic usage, a symbolic or metaphoric usage. [...]  All fiction is metaphor. Science fiction is metaphor. What sets it apart from older forms of fiction seems to be its use of new metaphors, drawn from certain great dominants of our contemporary life — science, all the sciences, and technology, and the relativistic and the historical outlook, among them. Space travel is one of these metaphors; so is an alternative society, an alternative biology; the future is another. The future, in fiction, is a metaphor.
A metaphor for what?” [1]
A metaphor for what indeed. I won’t be going into what Star Wars as a whole is a metaphor for, because I am certain that it varies from person to person, and everyone can and has the total right to take whatever they want from this story, and understand it as they see fit. That’s why it’s called the modern myth. And therefore, all I’ll be saying here is playinly my take not only on what I understand the Clones to be, but what I believe they could have meant.
2.2 SO, BOBA IS A CLONE
I don’t want to get too repetitive, but I wanted to adress it because even though I by no means intend to put Boba and the Clones in the same bag, there is one aspect about them that I find very similar and interesting, that is the persue of individuality. While the Clones have this very intrinsically connected to their narratives, in Boba’s case this appears more in his concept design. As I mentioned in Part 1, one of the things the CW staff had in mind while designing the mandalorians is that they wanted to make Boba seem unique and distinguishable from them, and honestly even in the original trilogy he stands out a lot. He is unique and memorable and that’s one of the things that draws us to him.
And as we all know, both Boba and Jango and the Clones are played by Temuera Morrison — and occasionally by the wonderful Bodie Taylor and Daniel Logan. And Temuera Morrison comes from the Maori people. And differently from the mandalorian case, where we were talking about a whole planet, in this situation we’re talking about portraying one single person, so there’s nowhere to go around his appearance and phenotypes, right? I mean, you are literally representing an actual individual, so there’s no way you could alter their looks, right?
Tumblr media
(hahahaha wrong)
And besides that, I think that is in situations like that (when we are talking about individuals) that the actor’s perspective could really have a place to shine (just the same as how Lea was mostly written by Carrie Fisher). In this very heart-warming interview for The New York Times (which you can read full signing up for their 5-free-articles-per-month policy), Temuera Morrison talks a little bit about how he incorporated his cultural background to Boba Fett in The Mandalorian:
“I come from the Maori nation of New Zealand, the Indigenous people — we’re the Down Under Polynesians — and I wanted to bring that kind of spirit and energy, which we call wairua. I’ve been trained in my cultural dance, which we call the haka. I’ve also been trained in some of our weapons, so that’s how I was able to manipulate some of the weapons in my fight scenes and work with the gaffi stick, which my character has.” [2]
The Gaffi stick (or Gaderffii), btw, is the weapon used by the Tusken Raiders on Tatooine, and according to oceanic art expert Bruno Claessens it’s design was inspired by wooden Fijian war clubs called totokia. [3]
And I think is very clear how this background can influence one’s performance and approach to a character, and majorly how much more alive this character will feel like. Beyond that, having an actor from your culture to play and add elements to a character will higly improve your sense of connection with them (besides all the impact of seeying yourself on screen, and seeying yourself portrayed with respect). It would only make sense if the cultural elements that the actor brought when giving life to a fictional individual would’ve been kept and even deepened while expanding this role. And if you’re familiar with Star Wars Legends you’ll probably rememeber that in Legends Jango would train and raise all Clone troopers in the Mandalorian culture, so that the Clones would sing traditional war chants before battles, be fluent in Mando’a (Mandalore’s language) and some would proudly take mandalorian names for themselves. So why didn’t Filoni Inc. take that into account when they went to delve into the clones in The Clone Wars?
2.3 THE WHITE MINORITY
First of all I’d like to state that all this is 100% me conjecturing, and by no means at all I’m saying that this is what really happened. But while I was re-watching CW before The Bad Batch premiere, something came to my mind regarding the whitewashing of the Clones, and I’d like to leave that on the table.
So, you know this kind of recent movies and series that depicted like, fairies in this fictional world where fairies were very opressed, but there would be a lot of fairies played by white actors? Just like Bright and Carnival Row. If you’ve watched some of these and have some racial conscience, you’ll probably know where I’m going here. And the issue with it is that often this medias will portray real situations of racism and opression and prejudice, but all applied to white people. Like in Carnival Row, when going to work as a maid in a rich human house, our girl Cara Delevingne had to fight not to have her braids (which held a lot of significance in her culture) cut by her intolerant human mistress, because the braids were not “appropriate”. Got it? hahahaha what a joy
Tumblr media
Look at her ethnic braids!!!
One of the reasons this happens might be to relieve a white audience of the burden of watching these stories and feeling what I like to call “white guilt”. Because, as we all know, white people were never very oppressed.  Historically speaking, white people have always been in privileged social positions, and in an exploitative relationship between two ethnic groups, white people very usually would be the exploiters  —  the opressors. So while watching situations (that every minority would know to be very real) of opression in fiction, if these situations were lived by a white actor, there would be no real-life associations, because we have no historical parameter to associate this situation with anything in real life — if you are white. Thus, there is less chance that, when consuming one of these narratives, whoever is watching will question the "truthfulness" of these situations (because it's not "real racism", see, "they're just fairies"). It's easier for a person to watch without having to step out of their comfort zone, or confront the reality of real people who actually go through things like that. There's even a chance that this might diminish empathy for these people.
Once again, not saying this is specifically the case of the Clones, majorly because one of the main feelings you have when watching CW is exactly empathy for the troopers (at least for me, honestly, the galaxy could explode, I just wanted those poor men to be happy for God’s sake). But I’ll talk more about it later.
The thing is, the whole thing with the Clones, if you think about it, it’s not pretty. If you step on little tiny bit outside the bubble of “fictional fantasy”, the concept is very outrageous. They are kept in conditions analogous to slavery, to say the least. To say the more, they were literally made in an on-demand lab to serve a purpose they are personally not a part of, for which they will neither receive any reward nor share any part of the gains. On the contrary, as we saw in The Bad Batch, as soon as the war was over and the clones were no longer useful as cannonballs, they were discarded. In the (wonderful) episode 6 of the third season of (the almost flawless) Rebels, “The Last Battle”, we're even personally introduced to the analogy that there really wasn't much difference in value between clones and droids, something that was pretty clear in Clone Wars but hadn't been said explicitly yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact, technically the Separatists can be considered to be more human than the Republic. But that's just my opinion.
So, you had this whole army of pretty much slaves. I know this is a heavy term, but these were people who were originally stripped of any sense of humanity or individuality, made literally to go to war and die in it, doing so purely in exchange for food and lodging, under the false pretense that they belonged to a glorious purpose (yes, Loki me taught that term, that was the only thing I absorbed from this series). Doing all this under extremely precarious conditions from which they had no chance of getting out, actually, getting out was tantamount to the death penalty. They were slaves. In milder terms, an oppressed minority. And again, I don't know if that was the case, but I can understand why Filoni Inc would be apprehensive about representing phenotically indigenous people in this situation. Especially since we in theory should see Anakin and Obi-Wan as the good guys.
(and here I’d like to leave a little disclaimer that I believe the whole Anakin-was-a-slave-once plot was HUGELY misused (and honestly just badly done) both in the prequels and in the animeted series  — maybe for the best, since he was, you know, white and all that, and I don’t know how the writers would have handled it, but ANYWAY — I believe this could have been further explored, particularly regarding his relationship with the Clones, and how it could have influenced his revolt against the Jedi, and manipulated to add to his anger and all that. I mean, we already HAD the fact that Anakin shared a deeper conection with his troopers than usual)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, Rex, you have common trauma experiences to share. But anyway, backing to my track
As I was saying, we are to see them as good guys, and maybe that could’ve been tricky if we saw them hooping up on slavery practices. Like, idk, a “nice” sugar plantation owner? (I don’t know the correct word for it in english, but in portuguese they were called senhores de engenho) Like this guy from 12 Years a Slave?
Tumblr media
You know, the slave owner who was “nice”. IDK, anyway
No one will ever watch Clone Wars and make this association (I believe not, at least), of course not. But if we were to see how CW deepened the clone arcs, and see them as phenotypically indigenous, subjected to certain situations that occur in CW (yes, like Umbara), maybe some kind of association would’ve been easier to make.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, come onnnn I can’t be the only one seeing it
You see, maybe not the whole 12 Years a Slave association one, but I don’t think it’s hard to see there was something there. And maybe this could’ve been even more evident if they looked non-white. Because historically, both black peoples and indigenous peoples went through processes of slavery, from which we as a society are still impacted today. And to slave a people, the first thing you have to do is strip them from their humanity. So it might be easier to see this situation and apply it to real life. And maybe that could lead to a whole lot of other questions regarding the Clones, the Republic, the Jedi, and even how chill Obi-Wan was about all this. We might come out of it, as lady Ursula Le Guin stated in the fragment above, a bit different from what we were before we watch it.
Maybe even unconsciously, Filoni Inc thought we would be more confortable watching if they just looked white (and because of colonialism and all that, but I’m adding thoughts here).
And of course I don’t like the idea of, idk, looking at Obi-Wan and thinking about Benedict Cumberbatch in 12 Years a Slave or something like that. Of course that, if the Clones were to play the same role as they did in the prequels, to obediently serve the Jedi and quietly die for them, that would have been bad, and hurtfull, and pejorative if added to all that I said here. But the thing is that Clone Wars, consciously or not, already solved that. At least to my point of view, they already managed to approach this situation in an incredible competent way, that is giving them agency.
2.4 AGENCY AND INDIVIDUALITY
So, one of the things I love most in Clone Wars is how it really feels like it’s about the Clones. Like, we have the bigger scene of Palpatine taking over, Ahsoka’s growth arc, Anakin’s turn to The Dark Side, the dawn of the Jedi and rise of the Empire and all that, but it also has this idk, vibe, of there’s actually something going on that no one in scene is talking about? And this something is the Clones. We have these episodes spread throughout the seasons, even out of chronological order, which when watched together tell a parallel story to the war, to everything I mentioned. Which is a story about individuals. Clone Wars manages to, in a (at least to me) very touching way, make the Clones be the heros.
Tumblr media
Can you really look me in the eye and say that Five’s story didn’t CRASH you like a full-speed train???? He may not have the same amount of screen-time as the protagonists, but his story is just as important as theirs (and to me, it might be the most meaningful one). Because he is the first to break free from the opression cicle all the Clones were trapped into.
Tumblr media
His story can be divided into 6 phases.
1 - First, the construction of his individuality, in other words, the reclaiming of his humanity.
2 - Then the assimilation of understanding yourself as an individual of value, and then extending this to all his brothers, not as a unit, but as a set of individuals collectively having this same newly discovered value.
3 - This makes him realize that in the situation they find themselves in, they are not being recognized as such. This makes him question the reality of their situation.
4 - Freed from the illusion of his state, he seeks the truth about it.
5 - This then leads him to seek liberation not just for himself, but for all the Clones (it's basically Plato's Cave, and I'm not exaggerating here).
6 - And finally, precisely because he has assimilated his individuality and sought freedom for himself and his brothers, he is punished for it.
His story is all about agency. Agency, according to the Wikipedia page that is the first to appear if you type “agency” on Google, is that agency is “the abstract principle that autonomous beings, agents, are capable of acting by themselves” [4], and this abstract principle can be dissected in 7 segments:
Law - a person acting on behalf of another person
Religious -  "the privilege of choice... introduced by God"
Moral -  capacity for making moral judgments
Philosophical -  the capacity of an autonomous agent to act, relating to action theory in philosophy
Psychological -  the ability to recognize or attribute agency in humans and non-human animals
Sociological -  the ability of social actors to make independent choices, relating to action theory in sociology
Structural - ability of an individual to organize future situations and resource distribution
All of them apply here. And this is just the story of one Clone. We know there are many others throughout the series.
Agency is what can make the world of a difference when you are telling a story about an opressed minority. Because opressed minorities do exist, and opression exists, and if you are insecure about consuming a fictional media about opressed minorities, see if they have agency might be a good place to start. So that’s why I think that everything I said before in 2.3 falls short. Because the solution already existed, and was indeed done. Honestly, making the non-agency representation of the Clones (the one we see in the prequels) to be the one played by Temuera Morrison, and then giving them agency in the version where they appear to be white, just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
And honestly, if they were to make the Clones look like Temuera Morrison, and by that mean, take more inspiration in the Māori culture, maybe they wouldn’t even have to change much of their representation besides their facial features. As I said in part 1, I am not by any means an expert in polynesian cultures, but there was something that really got me while I was researching about it. And is the facial tattoos. More precisely, the tā moko.
2.5  TĀ MOKO
Once again I’ll be using the Te Ara: The Encyclopedia of New Zealand as source, and you can find the articles used linked at the end of this post.
Etymologically speaking,
“The term moko traditionally applied to male facial tattooing, while kauae referred to moko on the chins of women. There were other specific terms for tattooing on other parts of the body. Eventually ‘moko’ came to be used for Māori tattooing in general.” [5]
So moko is the correct name for the characteristic tattoos we often see when we look for Māori culture.
Tumblr media
These ones ^. Please also look this book up, it’s beautiful. It’s written by  Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, a New Zealand academic specialising in Māori cultural issues and a lesbian activist. She’s wonderful.
According to the Tourism NewZealand website,
“In Māori culture, it [moko] reflects the individual's whakapapa (ancestry) and personal history. In earlier times it was an important signifier of social rank, knowledge, skill and eligibility to marry.”
“Traditionally men received moko on their faces, buttocks and thighs. Māori face tattoos are the ultimate expression of Māori identity. Māori believe the head is the most sacred part of the body, so facial tattoos have special significance.”
[...] “The main lines in a Māori tattoo are called manawa, which is the Māori word for heart.” [6]
Therefore, in the Māori culture, there’s this incredibly deep meaning attributed to the (specific of their culture) tattooing of the face. The act of tattooing the body, any part of the body, is incredibly powerful in many cultures around the globe. The adornment of the body can have different meanings for these different cultures, but all of which I've come into contact with do mean a lot. It’s one of the oldest and most beautiful human expressions of individuality and identity.
And in the Star Wars universe, the Clones are the group that has the deeper connection to, and the best narrative regarding, tattoos. In fact, besides Hera’s father, Cham Syndulla, the Clones are the only individuals to have tattooed skin, at least that I can recall of. And they do share a deep connection to it.
For the Clones, the tattoos (added to hairstyles) are the most meaningful way in which they can express themselves. Is what makes them distinguishable from each other to other people. Tattoos are one of the things that represent them as individuals.
Tumblr media
And I’m not BY ANY MEANS sayin that the Clones facial tattoos = Moko. That’s not my point. But that’s one of the things I meant when I said earlier about the wasted potential of the representation of the Clones (in my point of view). Because maybe if it were their intention to base the culture of the clones after the polynesian culture, maybe if it were their intention to make the Clones actually look like Temuera Morrison, this could have meant a whole deal. More than it’d appear looking to it from outside this culture. Maybe if there were actual polynesian people in the team that designed the Clones and wrote them (or at least indigenous people, something), who knows what we could’ve had.
Even in Hunter’s design, I noticed that if you take for example this frame of Temuera from the movie River Queen (2005), where we can have a closer look at the design of his tā moko
Tumblr media
Speaking purely plastically (because I don’t want to get into the movie itself, just using it as example because then I can use Temuera himself as a comparison), see the lines around the contours of his mouth? Now look at Hunter’s.
Tumblr media
I find it interesting that they choose to design this lines coming from around his nose like that. But at this point I am stretching A LOT into plastic and semiotics, so this comparison is just a little thing that got my attention. I know that his tattoo is a skull and etc etc, I’m just poiting this out. And it even makes me a little frustrated, because they could have taken so many interesting paths in the Bad Batch designs. But instead they choose to pay homage to Rambo. And I mean, I like Rambo, I think he’s cool and all that.
Tumblr media
Look at him doing Filipino martial arts
But then, as we say in Brasil, they had the knife and the cheese in their hands (all they had to do was cut the cheese, but they didn’t). Istead, it seems like in order to make Hunter look like Rambo, they made him even whiter???
2.6 SO...
Look, I love The Clone Wars. I’m crazy about it. I love the Clones, I love their stories and plots. They are great characters and one of the greatest addings ever made in the Star Wars universe. They even have, in my opinion, the best soundtrack piece to feature in a Star Wars media since John Williams’ wonderful score. It just feels to me as if their narrative core is full of bagage, and meanings, and associations that were just wiped under the carpet when they suddenly became white. It just feels to me as if, once again, they were trying to erase the person behing the trooper mask, and the people they were to represent, and the history they should evoke.
I don’t know why they were whitewashed. Maybe it was just the old due racism and colonialism. Maybe it was meant for us to not question the Jedi, or our good guys, or the real morality of this fictional universe where we were immersed. But then, was it meant for what?
The Clones were a metaphor for what?
Tumblr media
(spoiler: the answer still contains colonialism)
Thank you so much for reading !!!! (and congratulations for getting this far, you are a true hero)

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Background: Turned in 1510 by Lorenzo de Medici, Botticelli was initially unaware that he had even died and been resurrected as a vampire. As someone who greatly appreciates life, he was angry at first about being brought back without his permission, and immediately left the Medici court. For several decades he traveled the world and realized there was so much undiscovered beauty just waiting to be discovered and immortalized by him. Since then he made it his goal to seek out that beauty wherever he could, and create a painting so extravagant and ethereal that it would put the sun, moon, and stars to shame.
Personality: He is one of the most outgoing people in the mansion. He is not afraid to speak his mind and often compliments random people he meets in town. He is very genuine, almost to a fault. He always sees the good in others and can be a bit naive at times, only because he choses to believe people at face value. His  authenticity and trust in others, inspire the people he cares about to believe in themselves and become more confident. He also tends to have a flair for the dramatic, basically the embodiment of “I’ll get over it, I just need to be dramatic first”. He can be a bit dreamy and carefree, tossing awareness of his surroundings. (One time he went horseback riding with Leonardo and saw a pretty flower. He spaced out, thinking about how he would paint it in the hands of a beautiful person and ended up getting thrown off his horse when he almost rode into a tree. A true himbo). His carefree attitude however, can leave him a bit detached from people. While he’s very empathetic, he doesn’t know what to do when those emotions are coming from him. Finding beauty is his motivation after being brought back, but what happens when he realizes beauty isn’t the only reason he’s so drawn to you?
In Love: At first, he simply thought he was attracted to you for your beauty. After all, that’s the reason he was drawn to people in the past. He understand’s beauty very well, but he doesn't know what true love feels like from his own perspective. A major conflict for him would be realizing that the reason his heart races after time you smile at him, isn't because he simply finds you worthy of his art. He is hopelessly in love with you.
“Oh don’t worry, I’m just holding your hand because its pretty haha...”
He can be oblivious at the beginning and won’t understand why you’re jealousy that he’s admiring other people for their beauty. It’s only because he wants them to be art subjects right?
But once he has come to terms with his feelings, he will be the sweetest lover you can ask for. You are a goddess to him, his one and only muse, and he will make sure you know that he worships every single part of you. (He will definitely ask to paint you nude because “beauty such as yours absolutely must be captured. I only hope I can capture your radiance the way you deserve Amore”)
Hobbies: Painting, Meddling in people’s business, Stargazing
Dislikes: Dishonest and close minded people, Spicy Food
Favorite Food: Crème Brûlée
Hated Food: Banana
Weaknesses: Physical fighting, Math, Situational awareness.
Speciality: Making people smile, Chaos
Extra Things:
-Lorenzo brought him back because he believed it would be a waste for the world to loose such talent so quickly.
- He arrived at the mansion to surprise Leonardo after hearing he was still alive. It was supposed to be a temporary stay but he fell in love with Paris and asked Comte if he could move in with them.
- Sandro is a great singer and dancer and is often asked by Mozart to sing one of his pieces for him. However he only agrees if he is allowed to draw Mozart after. (He can’t help it, Mozart and Jean are so ethereally beautiful, they just have to be drawn.)
- While he is extremely talented artistically, he doesn't know how to cook, wash dishes, or hail a carriage. Sebastian has officially banned him from the kitchen after he set the cupboards on fire trying to make a cake. (Theo nearly had a stroke after taking a bite and realizing he mixed up the salt and sugar)
- He is already very hyper, and he is not allowed to touch coffee. One time Arthur gave him a cup and he was awake all night trying to turned all the residents into the perfect models. He carried their sleeping bodies to the garden and arranged them to resemble the 12 Olympians. Jean woke up the next morning curled up at Comte’s feet and since then he has banned Botticelli from visiting his room or painting him.
- Botticelli originally met Leonardo while they were both studying in Verrocchio’s workshop, and he considers Leo to be like an older brother to him. Being the two college-age dumbasses they are, they decided to move in together and start working as waiters in a nearby restaurant. After most of the staff died from the plague, Leonardo came up with the bright idea of rebranding the restaurant, calling it called "Le tre rane di Sandro e Leonardo" (the Three Frogs of Sandro and Leonardo), and serving gourmet cuisine. It ended up being a failure because most of their customers were not used to the innovative new food being served.
- A threeway with Leonardo is definitely a possibility for you.
- He has a pet peacock named Juno.
- Sometimes he lays down in the garden and watches the clouds imagining different animals based on their shapes.
- Surprising Botticelli is very good friends with Dazai, and his positive outlook on life has helped Dazai appreciate his own existence. None of the other residents understand their conversations but it makes perfect sense between them.
- He cannot handle spicy food. One time Dazai slipped chili powder into his dinner and his face turned red while he teared up. To this day he internally shudders every time he sees the others eating something spicy without flinching.
- He tries to avoid conflicts as much as he can because he tends to get emotional very quickly. Being so empathetic can be draining to him and getting into a fight hurts him more than it will ever hurt the other person.
- He loves making random sketches of you and the other residents, and he will leave them your respective rooms with a small note reminding everyone that they are appreciated.
- His love language is physical touch and he has a habit of kissing everyone on the cheek or forehead.
- Something about Napoleon’s room is so cozy and welcoming that it makes him sleepy. He’s woken up cuddling Napoleon many times. Yes they have kissed each other.
- Though, he doesn’t like taking naps with Leonardo because sleeping on the floor makes all his bones hurt.
- He has a sweet tooth that rivals Theo. Between the two of them, any desserts Sebastian buys, are eating within 2 days.
- Sandro loves shopping with Comte and he constantly asks Leonardo to let him pick out a new wardrobe. He cringes every time he sees those mismatched boots.
- Shakespeare is the only resident that makes him a bit wary. He is very good at figuring out when people are lying and Will’s personality unsettles him.
- Besides Leonardo, Vincent is his favorite resident. Sandro appreciates how kind and welcoming he is, and his favorite pastime is painting with him. If he ever hears people talk bad about Vincent he will not hesitate to give that person a piece of his mind.
- Sandro is a bi king who develops crushes very easily, but most of them are fleeting and superficial. He had a major crush on Leonardo that he quickly got over after they became friends. When they lived together, Leo would often tease him for his habit of falling for people so quickly and moving on within a week.
- Modern Botticelli would be a major Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, and FKA Twigs fan.
- One time he was running to show Dazai a pretty butterfly he found and he was so distracted by it that he didn’t notice the tree branch right in front of him. He ran into it so hard that he knocked himself out for 30 minutes and Napoleon had to carry him back inside the mansion.
Other characters he is similar to: Ranpo Edogawa, Tamaki Suoh, Grell Sutcliff
I’m going to be using Ikevamp Botticelli so you can follow that tag if you want to hear more about him!

Hey Goldy, i'm positive Yoongi isn't straight and has been fairly open about it from the early years. So do u think that Yoongi could've influenced Jikook (especially Jimin cuz he is very close to him) in any sort of way on their journey?
Jimin is VERY close to Yoongi
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for this statement😭
I feel seen and heard🤧
Not a lot of Jokers out here appreciate Yoonmin's bond😭😭😭😭
The disrespect! How dare they!
In reality, Yoonmin is one of the best ships that reflects the hyung dongsaeng dynamic perfectly in BTS in my opinion- Jinkook and Yoonkook, NamTae are heavy contenders I'd say but Yoonmin is right up there with them. Love Jihope too- if they could cut down on the flirting chilee.
No JHOPE I don't want you to call Jimin sexy or look at him like you want to gobble him with a glass of Sprite- it's weird😭😭😭
But also don't stop
Tumblr media
From Suga 'bullying' Jimin, teasing him, praising him, mentoring him, the bickering- he is the biggest PJM right next to JK and Namjoon. I said what I said.
So thank you for this. I literally cried.
Feel so good to hear someone say that.
I'm having an existential crisis at the moment and Yoonmin is what is getting me through it at the moment.
People need to stop invalidating the members' bond. Seriously. Not cool. They all have beautiful dynamics real or not.
But he's gay? 🤔
You believe Suga is gay??
Tumblr media
Damn.
He's queer and has been pretty open about it from the beginning???
A lot of people assume that about him actually. I think it's interesting.
Did he influence Jikook, Jimin in anyway...
If by influence you mean support then yes. I think he was and has been very supportive of Jimin and JK individually and has helped them embrace and make sense of certain aspects of themselves.
I think he's more understanding than most of the challenges and difficulties of being young and uncertain of who you are growing up under public scrutiny and in a highly hostile environment.
I think he is wise beyond his age and I have a ton of love and respect for him as both a person and an artist.
I love 'People' so much...
I think the most Iconic thing he's said so far to me is this totally woke, fanservice questioning and ridiculing statement:
'I didn't want to wear the maid outfit. I was surprised when they said it's for the fans. We don't have any interest in seeing girls wear men's clothes so why does the fans want us to wear women's clothes?'
It's weird. Fanservice is weird.
My least favorite moment of his is when he admonished JK not to say things like he'd want a tattoo when he grows up because the fans wouldn't like that.
I found that very contradictory for someone who's life motto is nevermind- or is it I don't give a shit?😏
Find it equally triggering whenever he teases JK about crying too much or being a cry baby as if it's wrong for men to cry. There's nothing wrong with shedding tears. Men cry too.
Then the bit about him not wanting tattoos or just a dot on his toe or feet or something because he has things he might want to do post BTS that having a tattoo would just be an inconvenience... quite conservative I'd say.
He don't give a fuck but then he gives a fuck?
Mans gotta be a realist or I'd chalk up these inconsistencies in his values to the clash between his Persona and his real self.
Tumblr media
To be fair, he's not the only one. That conflict plays out in almost every member's outlook.
I see Yoongi as that one person who'd say to a person, go for it but end that advice with a caveat such as, 'but understand people will hate you for it' or some truth along those lies.
He places consequences right next to desire and as long as the person is not oblivious to and can bare the consequences of their actions, decisions and choices then I think he'd ask them to go for it and stand in their truth.
That much I know is his value and I can see how that might have impacted both JM and JK. But rather than encourage them to take risks, I think he pushes them to seize opportunities and put themselves outside- there's a difference there. Their not one and the same.
More than anyone in BTS, I think he understands the gravity of being queer, closeted or being in a relationship with a bandmate in the industry they work in.
I think he is much mature enough to understand the consequences of over attachment and risks of detachment and that too plays out in the way Jikook carry themselves around in the group.
Other than that, I think he minds his business most times.
Do I think he is open minded about conversations on sexuality? Absolutely.
But that's as far as I can go on the topic.
I do not believe he is queer and I'm not convinced in anyway he is pansexual or bisexual either- don't quote his song lyrics to me I already know. Lol.
Boy or girl my tongue will send you to hongkong....
And then his interviews about what he finds attractive in women??
'... it's not limited to boys or girls?'
Lolololololololol
I think that bit was heavily misconstrued.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'I'M NOT GAY'
This was his response when he was asked to talk about moments his heart skipped because of JHOPE. Similar to moments when the members had said their they almost fell for a band mate perhaps.
Other translations of that statement he made in the interview was, 'since we are both men, how can my heart throb for a man' and then he laughs it off.
Knowing Suga, I think he probably meant that in the most ridiculing, most mocking way possible- these interviewers be asking some stupid questions sometimes.
But imagine Suga saying that with two gay members sitting right next to him in that interview and how these members would feel hearing him say that about homosexuality.
One thing about BTS, if they be making loud openly 'woke' statements, take a shovel to their past- it's usually because they've messed up somewhere and are simply acting conscious of the things they say that can come across as problematic. In my opinion.
They do learn and grow from their mistakes. That's one thing I love about BTS.
They've all had their problematic moments as I keep saying.
To me, this interview moment would be one of such said problematic moments if not one very homophobic moment of Suga's- if the translations were right I mean. chileee. Lemme shut up. Lol.
And before anyone says but JK said the same thing too...
JK had a 'fear' of coming across as Gay in his early years. Part of the reason he wanted JM on the west of his east when the cameras came around- in my opinion.
He'd stutter when similar 'gay' questions were thrown his way- prompting Jimin to ask him straight away not to answer said question when an interviewer asked him.
You pair that with some of the members describing him as 'wanting to be manly' or appear like a manly man and it's not hard to figure out what was going on with him.
He'd pause and look at JM funny when JM would describe their relationship as in between friends and romance...
Jimin had to tell him to relax and that it was normal for men to say 'love' to men without it being weird or gay.
He knew gayism was a thing. He simply didn't want to be viewed as one- either because of his own repressed homosexual desires, in which case that would be internalized homophobia or he really really didn't like being thought of as gay- homophobia.
Suga's is different.
He either genuinely didn't know gay was a thing or that some men's heart actually beat for other men- seems to me he thought the idea of a man's heart skipping for another man absurd or impossible- or dude thought he was being a smart pants with that remark. Lol.
Baring his age in mind at the time of the interview, that in anyway reflects his ideals or assumptions about sexuality. That heterosexuality is D norm. That straight is all he can be or should be thought of as- He clearly hasn't read the blogs. He's in for a rude awakening.
If JK had this ideology about sexuality I think he would have been able to hide his sexuality better and not freak out each time people made jokes about it💀
Suga's said explicitly he is attracted to gal's who wear headphones, doesn't like gals who play hard to get- said he'd kick em if they didn't quit playing hard to get (misogynistic and abusive lyrics there but it's hiphop- let's not talk about that) finds it ridiculous that men should wear female clothes, thinks 'men' shouldn't cry.... all the making of a fine gay man😃
Should we chalk it up to internalized homophobia then??
I wouldn't.
A very dedicated Sope shipper will tell you, he said what he said to cover the fact he is gay so there's that. Lol.
I'm just not convinced Suga is part of the community but I think he is open minded now, leans less into his conservative values and more towards progressive values and thoughts.
I don't think he in any way shape or form 'influenced' Jikook to be gay or to do the gay if that's what you were asking.
But I do respect your opinion on Suga. I think we are all free to assume whatever we want in this case.
I might be wrong about him. You might be wrong about him or we could all be right. We will never know.
Thanks for the ask.
Wasn't comfortable answering it though. Lol.
I don't like when I have to watch what I say.
Sigh.
Signed,
GOLDY

pls tell me your thoughts about the potential for wwx-jgy friendship? i just like the idea of them having similar experiences as like: poor street kid/poor brothel kid, would kill god for the people they care about, made of knives, incredibly charming and personable. i feel like they could have Seen each other and understood each other really well, and like, things would have ended up better maybe?
Gosh. Ok, so full disclosure before I answer this: I am really not the most sympathetic towards Jin Guangyao. I am just not a fan of him in any universe where he is complicit if not directly responsible for the death of his own child to protect his own reputation (up for debate, but nonetheless Jin Rusong fucking deserved better), gaslights his wife / half-sister into committing suicide, and has a monologue meltdown about how difficult his life has been to his own orphaned and bullied nephew whose childhood he had a hand in destroying. I am glad he got kicked down the same stairs twice, and I am glad Nie Huaisang beat him at his own game. All in all to say that my thoughts on him might be colored by this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But let’s get into this! Jin Guangyao is a great character foil to Wei Wuxian. The circumstances of his life that shaped his morality (or lack thereof) and the choices he makes in response are tragic and understandable. I definitely think Jin Guangyao could have been a different person, a better person, if his father wasn’t such a trash heap, if society hadn’t been such a gigantic dick about his mother, and if he hadn’t needed to claw his way into achieving everything he did. Wei Wuxian says himself that he doesn’t consider Jin Guangyao a villain.
However, I hesitate to say that had they struck up a friendship, Jin Guangyao and Wei Wuxian could have understood each other easily and that this could have changed things. Don’t get me wrong! I can definitely see how influence could have been made where a friendship between these two would have fixed it all. Or at least improved things. Especially in association with Wei Wuxian, Jiang Yanli’s nonjudgemental kindness (under the condition that nobody hurts her little brothers) would have been extremely refreshing to Meng Yao.
But I also think the differences between Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao would have made it difficult for them to truly understand and agree with each other. And it’s these differences that ultimately decide each of their fates.
I will try to organize my thoughts on this. First, the discussion of privilege.
1. Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao are not on the same privilege level.
While both Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao are scorned in some way, shape, or form for their parents’ statuses, Wei Wuxian is still the son of cultivators. He is still the son of Cangse sanren, a disciple of a famed immortal. His pedigree and legacy are undeniable. Jin Guangyao, on the other hand, is the unwanted son of a lecherous sect leader and a sex worker. In a society where hierarchy and reputation is everything, this places Jin Guangyao in an entirely different pedigree in a way that Wei Wuxian wouldn’t be able to understand.
Wei Wuxian is also brought into the Jiang sect and given a chance to cultivate at an early age where Jin Guangyao doesn’t. Wei Wuxian can punch the heir of a rich sect leader, leading to the dissolution of his sister’s political marriage alliance, and still get nothing but a slap on the wrist because boys will be boys. He can interrupt important post-war celebration dinners to tell that same rich sect leader to fuck off with his marriage proposal and then promptly skip away without any real consequences. He can accidentally send his friend’s little brother into a murderous rampage, and his own little brother will apologize on his behalf and offer to pay reparations.
Wei Wuxian may not have the same privilege as sect heirs like Jiang Cheng or Lan Wangji, but he has far more privilege than Jin Guangyao and Su She. This is important because it is this privilege that Wei Wuxian sacrifices later in order to the protect the Wens. I am not saying Wei Wuxian doesn’t suffer. He does, a truly horrendous amount, but even without his golden core, even when his self-worth is at an all-time low, he is still supported and protected by his status in the Jiang sect until he gives it up to do the right thing. Despite Lan Xichen and the Nies, Jin Guangyao doesn’t have this same kind of backing.
(With that being said though, Jin Guangyao does become Chief Cultivator, so there is only so far one can fall back on their disadvantages in society when they have already reached the top. Being marginalized is not an excuse to be a jackass to your nephew whose parents you had a hand in killing, just saying.)
One can argue that had Jin Guangyao been raised in the Jiang sect while Wei Wuxian continued to scrape for food on the streets, their outlook on life would have been completely different. But even taking into account Jiang Yanli’s overwhelmingly positive influence on a young Meng Yao, I am still inclined to disagree because of my next point.
2. Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao are fundamentally different in how they respond/cope with public gossip and ridicule.
Wei Wuxian, for the most part, lets these comments roll off his back. This is not to say he doesn’t care or that they don’t affect him. They clearly do, and his actions, his self-perception, and his increasingly arrogant bravado as the story progresses reflect the deluge of verbal abuse he’s face with, largely at the hands of Madam Yu. But he copes by being loud, by being talented, by becoming even more outrageous and more unorthodox the more people criticize him. So what if people don’t approve? So what if people look down on his father and gossip about his mother’s supposed relationship with Jiang Fengmian? As long as he is true to himself and his moral convictions, he can walk this dark single plank road alone and without regrets.
Jin Guangyao, on the other hand, desperately and reverently wants to be included. He wants to be accepted, to be liked. He wants to be in the room where it happens. He takes every single comment to heart, carries every disdainful remark on his back like an open scar. He is both someone who loves and respect his mother and who hates her for the constant shadow she casts over him and his place in society. He will build a Guanyin statue in her likeness, in her honor. He will wear a hat because she once told him that a gentleman always wears hats. And yet, he will spend everyday of his life trying to rid himself of his connection to her.
Where Wei Wuxian recklessly cares too little about appearances and what people think of him, Jin Guangyao cares far too much. Wei Wuxian doesn’t give one flying iota about politics, about status and acclaim. He was perfectly fine with being a lotus farmer on a mountain. Even if Wei Wuxian had never been taken in by the Jiangs (and managed to survive the streets), I genuinely think he would still have been largely the same – a child who is kind, open, curious, and holds few grudges. I am not sure I can say that even under the best circumstances, Jin Guangyao wouldn’t have . It destroys him. .
This ties into my last point.
3. Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao have completely opposing priorities and beliefs on the worth of others.
Wei Wuxian will throw himself in front of anybody if his moral compass tells him it is the right thing to do. He is a genuinely open-hearted person who cares deeply about others and thinks it is morally corrupt to do nothing when something can be done. He is idealistic and optimistic, oftentimes to a fault. Jin Guangyao, as a result of his childhood and circumstances, is incredibly pessimistic and cynical. It is every person for themselves out here. The world is a crooked shitshow, conflict is inevitable, and he has to come out on top no matter what.
This leads to him sacrificing pretty much everyone in his life in order to maintain his own reputation. Like I do genuinely think Jin Guangyao truly cared about Jin Ling! I think he also in his own way cared about Lan Xichen, Nie Mingjue, and Nie Huaisang! But I also think a large portion of that is because he enjoyed how they made him feel. He enjoyed being liked and being depended upon. And we see clearly what happens when those benefits cease. Whereas Wei Wuxian would rather throw himself off a cliff than hurt any more people he loves, Jin Guangyao would rather push his own people off the cliff if it means his reputation and appearance remain intact. And if that’s not possible, he would rather set them on fire along with him.
This has become an entirely too long rambling essay to say that while Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao share similar experiences, their primary priorities are so different and opposing that it is hard for me to come up with a way in which a friendship between them could have changed things. Sure, Jin Guangyao could have benefited from Wei Wuxian’s unabashed and staunch defense of his friend. Anyone who talks shit about Jin Guangyao’s mother will get punched in the face, and it would maybe have made Jin Guangyao feel less alone in the world, less like he only had himself and his manipulative ways to seek acceptance.
But what happens when Wei Wuxian being Wei Wuxian runs around causing social and political uproar to do what he thinks is right? Is Jin Guangyao going to help and support him, or is he going to throw Wei Wuxian under the bus to protect his own reputation? Personally, I think the importance he places on public perception would ultimately be too great. It destroys his relationships, and it destroys him.

1-A
📘 Izuku Midoriya: Slytherin
        -Blood: Halfblood (Mother is Muggle)
-Explanation of House: Izuku has the quality of heroism that fits in with Gryffindor but he is filled with that determination. He keeps his journal and has battle plans memorized. He is able to think on his feet and adapt easily to a situation. He is a perfect example to show that Slytherin doesn't mean bad, even if we only really saw bad examples in the series.
-Patronus: Brown Bear                  - Bears are known for being protective and brave to those they care about (Mother and cubs).
-Partner: Hufflepuff                         -(Y/N) comes from a pureblood family with their elder brother being a Slytherin (Shigaraki). They aren't very                          heroic in any way, which keeps them out of Gryffindor, unlike Nevil. Once they have been shown kindness,                           they develop a strong connection and become very loyal. They would die for those that they care for.                  -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Netherland Dwarf Rabbit                         -They are meek but are humble in their abilities. They are a symbol of rebirth and second chances.
💥 Katsuki Bakugo: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Halfblood (Father is Muggle)
-Explanation of House: Are you going to tell me this boy just doesn't scream Gryffindor? He often acts before thinking when he is emotional and he is filled with confidence in himself. He would be the type of person who puts himself in danger to save someone else. He comes off as harsh but he means well.
-Patronus: Wild Boar                 -Symbols being fearless and the embodiment of power.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         -(Y/N) is focused on helping others and puts themselves in danger to protect others. They put others before                           themselves which is a classic Gryffindor move. They may not be as outgoing as other Gryffindors (Kiri) but                           they are definitely a  lion at heart.                 -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: King Cobra                         -Snakes, especially poisonous ones, are known for being the duality of healing and hurting.
🍜 Shoto Todoroki: Ravenclaw
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: In my mind, Todoroki is always taking in information when he is silent. He obviously eavesdrops with how he heard Toru after the USJ attack. He does have the cunning of a Slytherin (and I believe his father would be a Slytherin) but he is very intelligent and his clever nature is what got him into this house.
-Patronus: Panther                  -Panthers are known for being contemplative and keeping their emotions hidden.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          -(Y/N) has had to rely on creative ideas and their ingenuity to keep them equal to others. It is hard enough                          being a muggleborn so they have to prove to others that they are just as good as a pureblood. It doesn't help                          that their s/o is a Pureblood. He isn't tied by the blood hierarchy but his father believes strongly in it.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Ram                          -Rams can be seen as stubborn but they are filled with determination and will not let themselves be pushed                               around.
  🦈 Eijiro Kirishima: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Half-Blood ( Both parents are half-bloods themselves )
-Explanation of House: I'm sure this is no surprise to any of you. Kiri is the poster child of the red and gold house. He is definitely chivalrous and is filled with bravery. He does have the loyalty of a Hufflepuff but his stronger traits fall into Gryffindor. He is what everyone thinks of when they hear Gryffindor.
-Patronus: Bull                 -Bulls are known to be impulsive in their actions but they symbolize raw emotion and confidence.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                         -(Y/N) could fit into Hufflepuff with how kind they are but they have such a passion for learning that they fall                           into Ravenclaw. They try to stay under the radar to keep from being a target due to not having any powers.                                They are only allowed in Hogwarts due to their father being the Defense Against Dark Arts teacher.                  -Blood: Muggle, no powers.                 -Patronus: Chameleon                          - Chameleons use their camouflage to keep hidden from predators but symbol hidden talents and defenses.
⚡ Denki Kaminari: Hufflepuff
        -Blood: Half-Blood ( Father is a Muggle )
-Explanation of House: Is it really shocking (lol) that I put him in Hufflepuff? To be honest, he isn't the smartest (not necessarily with memorization stuff) when it comes to wisdom. He is a dumb dudebro who would jump from the roof onto the beer pong table. He could fall into Gryffindor with his impulsive nature but he puts being kind and helping others above all else, which is why he is placed in Hufflepuff.
-Patronus: Coyote                  - Coyotes are believed to be one of the trickster animals who focus on the enjoyment of life. They also are able to see things from both sides and have unique intelligence.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - (Y/N) relies on their luck a lot but they do have a quick wit. 🌹 Hanta Sero: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Half-Blood ( Two Half-Blood Parents )
-Explanation of House: I see this boy being filled with courage and the desire to help. He reminds me of a mix of               Kirishima and Denki. He deeply cares for his friends like Denki but also has more courage than the blonde like Kiri. He               may not be as vocal as his sharp-toothed friend but he fits in Gryffindor just as well.
-Patronus: Spider                 - Spiders are believed to symbolize protection and creativity.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - (Y/N) is filled with that creative spirit and loves to design different outfits for people. They are known for                            making patches for the other students to put on their robes for some individuality. At first, it was an issue but                            the headmaster ended up deciding that small changes like that in the uniform were allowed.                 -Blood: Half-Blood ( Mother is a Muggle )                  -Patronus: Dragonfly                          - Dragonflies are known for being carefree and filled with imagination. They carry themselves with lightness.
💨 Tenya Iida: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: I thought about putting him in Ravenclaw because of the obvious but after thinking about it for a bit, I think he fits as a Gryffindor more. He reminds me of a knight and they would definitely fit in Gryffindor's house. He is the only one of the Dekusquad who is in the red and gold house.
-Patronus: Clydesdale Horse                 - The horse symbolizes carrying the burdens of others and strength. They also are a sign of nobility.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         - (Y/N) is filled with determination to help those that can't protect themselves. They have a rather optimistic                            outlook on life which gives them a few Hufflepuff traits but it is their self-sacrificing nature that was the final                            decision in their house placement.                  -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Pelican                          - Pelicans symbolize being unselfish and responsible as well as safety for others.
🕯️ Tokoyami Fumikage: Ravenclaw
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: Many would see him as Slytherin but he relies on his intelligence quite a bit when it comes to fighting. He isn't as cunning a Slytherin and he isn't very outgoing and friendly like a Hufflepuff. Dark shadow would be considered a Griffindor due to how impulsive he is.
-Patronus: Owl                  - Owls are believed to be filled with wit and have a special connection to the magic and the astral plane.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                         - (Y/N) is the perfect example of a Hufflepuff. 🥋 Mashirao Ojiro: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: He has the patience of a Hufflepuff but he feels more like a Gryffindor to me. He is both valiant and filled with chivalry. He reminds me of such a gentleman and the perfect candidate to become a hero. His head is level-headed enough so he doesn't panic but he has enough bravery to act in the moment.
-Patronus: Puma                 - Pumas are known for having a silent strength and graceful/deliberate movements.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                         -(Y/N) sees the world in a different way than most do, similar to that of Luna Lovegood. They are always trying                           to experience the five different senses and like to experiment with different things like texture and taste. They                           are very loyal to those that they care about.                  -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Raccoon                          - While Raccoons can be known for being tricksters, they also are known to be explorative and curious.
👁️ Mezo Shoji: Hufflepuff
-Blood: Half-Blood (Father is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: What am I basing this belief on? Well, it has been shown that he will do anything for his friends. He had his scene with Asui where he makes sure to keep her warm and he straight up loses one of his hands to Tokoyami when Dark Shadow takes over. He has a deep loyalty to those that he cares about.
-Patronus: Quail                  - Quails symbolize team-work and group harmony. They also are very protective.
-Partner: Slytherin                         - (Y/N) is a very tricky person to deal with as their emotions can change with the turn of the wind. Just like a cat,                            they are quite cunning and tend to focus more on their own desires than others. They are trying to learn to                            be a bit more selfless from Shoji.                 -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Cat                          - Obviously, the cat family is known for being cunning and independent from others.
🌟 Yuga Aoyama:  Gryffindor
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: Surprised? I am basing this on his interactions with Midoriya in the anime in that one episode, ignoring his creepy cheese obsession. When he pulls Deku aside and gets serious, I feel like we see him for the first time and he isn't a comic relief character. He is showing that he truly wants to be a hero and that gets him into Gryffindor for me.
-Patronus: Peacock                 - Peacocks represent the feeling of being self-assured and the recognition of pride when it is due.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - They like to focus more on the creative side of things and aren't as brave as others. They like to go with the                            flow and hate for too much pressure to be put on them. They fit into Hufflepuff but their natural curiosity for                            things they don't understand puts them in Ravenclaw.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Two Half-Blood Parents)                  -Patronus: Seal                         - Seals are known for being close to their family as well as symbolize creativity and imagination.
🌸 Ochako Uraraka: Hufflepuff
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: There is no one more hard-working then Uraraka. She does have traits of both Slytherin with her determination and Gryffindor with her courage but her loyalty and determination she possesses to be able to provide for her family is what got her into the yellow and black house.
-Patronus: Otter                 - Otters are an important symbol for empathy and the joy that life can bring.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          -(Y/N) is focused most of their friends and helping them with what they need. Their elder brother Tenya was                           placed in Gryffindor, the same house that their elder brother Tensei was in. They are both impulsive and brave                           but one of their main traits is the kindness they have for others.                 -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Hummingbird                          - Hummingbirds represent energy and the vitality of youth. They are also warriors who can be playful.
👽 Mina Ashido: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: Mina definitely has a creative side which could have gotten her into Ravenclaw and she loves her friends but she is impulsive and filled with courage. Think of that scene when she was in middle school. That villain was giant but she didn't even think twice about going to help those girls!
-Patronus: Cougar                  - Cougars symbolize courage as well as loyalty. They are able to take the leadership position if needed.
-Partner: Slytherin                         - (Y/N) has a lot of house pride and refuses to be seen as a villain. They simply are cunning and able to talk                           circles around people when they need to. Their older brother (Hawks) was also in Slytherin, which shocked                           many as they expected him to be in Gryffindor.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Raven                          - Ravens are known for their intelligence and are often believed to be cunning creatures.
🐸 Tsuyu Asui: Slytherin
-Blood: Half-Blood (Mother is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: Tsu is always shown to be level-headed even in the most chaotic of situations. She is filled with determination to help those around her and is very resourceful when necessary. She can come up with plans and change them quickly to fit the situation better.
-Patronus: Eagle                 - Eagles are meant to symbolize a clear goal and the determination to succeed in plans.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         - (Y/N) is one of the most impulsive people Tsu has ever met. They are bouncing off of the walls a lot of the                                   time but they have such a sense of justice and protectiveness towards others that they were placed in the red                            and gold house filled with heroes.                  -Blood: Unknown heritage.                  -Patronus: Moose                         -  Moose are known for being strongwilled in what they believe and protective of those around them.
🎵 Kyoka Jiro: Slytherin
-Blood: Half-Blood (Mother is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: Jiro fits the creativity that comes with Ravenclaw but I view her as more cunning and resourceful. She definitely is a Slytherin when compared to her other classmates. She is smart and can come up with plans that work to the strengths of her teammates.
-Patronus: Tiger                 - They are known to speak the duality of being a creator as well as a destroyer.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - (Y/N) is a rather quiet person who only really opens up around those they trust. Their best friend is in                            Gryffindor and they often hide behind them when situations get too much for them. They have their own                            unique type of intelligence.                  -Blood: Pureblood                  -Patronus: Hedgehog                         - A hedgehog is meant to symbolize self-preservation and the shyness of meeting new people before opening                            up.
☕ Momo Yaoyorozu: Ravenclaw
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: This one shouldn't be shocking to anyone. The girl is filled with intelligence and often tries to be logical in the moment. She is able to make plans using the facts but she isn't tied down by them. She knows how dangerous it was to get Bakugo but she still went with the others to save him.
-Patronus: Swan                 - Swans are elegant and filled with grace. They are shown to strive for perfection.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - They have just as much determination as their sister Uraraka but they are more focused on having a plan than                            acting out of instinct. They are filled with bravery but they look at the world like a problem needing to be                                   solved, similar to that of a riddle or puzzle.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Mouse                         - The mouse is meant to be the symbol for the importance of detail and being careful with plans.
Misc.
💜 Hitoshi Shinso: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: This was a tossup between him going into Gryffindor or Slytherin so I took the Harry Potter decision. Harry spoke out when he was being sorted which is what ultimately got him into Gryffindor and I think Shinso would be the same. Just remember how he went to 1-A just to straight-up tell them he was going to take one of their places? A Gryffindor would definitely do that. A Slytherin would be more discreet and work behind the scenes to get what they want.
-Patronus: Weasel                  - Weasels have a hidden strength to them and hold a commanding and powerful aura.
-Partner: Slytherin                         - Everyone always thought that (Y/N) would end up in Ravenclaw due to how much they value knowledge but it                           was their cunning nature that was the final decision. They do not merely memorize facts like a Ravenclaw                           might. They use all their knowledge to get what they want which is why they fall into the serpent house.                  -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Skunk                         - Skunks symbolize the demanding of respect and taking time with your actions.
☁️ Inasa Yoarashi: Hufflepuff
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: Inasa has the heroism that any good Gryffindor student has but he has such a welcoming presence that I think that he fits better with Hufflepuff. He is one of the many examples that show that Hufflepuffs can be strong and soft at the same time.
-Patronus: Canine                 - Dogs are known for being loyal to those they care about and filled with love to share.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         - Even without any powers on their side, (Y/N) is filled with innate bravery. They do feel fear but they have                            learned how to push past that if it means saving someone.                  -Blood: Pureblood, a genetic malfunction that gives them no powers.                  -Patronus: N/A                         - N/A
⛓️ Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Half-Blood (Both Half-Blood Parents)
-Explanation of House: He was close to getting into Hufflepuff (just like Kiri) but his brave nature overruled his immense amount of care he has for his friends. He is very loyal but one of his big aspects is how brave he is. He isn't only brave for his friends, which pushed him to be a lion. He would stand up for a stranger if he thought it was the right thing to do.
-Patronus: Armadillo                  - Known for trusting in others but being tough when they need to.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          - (Y/N)'s main focus is helping others but they are focused more on a pacifistic approach than other houses like                            Gryffindor. They focus on their bonds with their friends and those around them. They are an expert when it                            comes to making someone feel better.                 -Blood: Pureblood                  -Patronus: Frog                          - Frogs are said to represent healing and medicine, as well as being peaceful.
🌵 Yo Shido: Slytherin
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: I just get the feeling that he would be a Slytherin. He takes the leader position when it comes to both his friendships and his teammates in battle. He is able to come up with a plan and isn't against using slightly underhanded tactics to do the right thing.
-Patronus: Rooster                  - Roosters are very self-assured and filled with pride. They are also known for being honest to a T.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         - (Y/N) has a hard time with impulse control, which pushes them toward the house of the lion. They also are                            filled with bravery, often rushing into things without thinking them through first. This is where Shido comes in                            handy to keep them from doing anything too dangerous.                  -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Roadrunner                         - Roadrunners are known for their speed and are seen as symbolizing opportunistic opportunities.
🎌 Yosetsu Awase: Gryffindor
-Blood: Half-Blood (Father is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: His scene with Momo convinces me that he would be in Gryffindor. He didn't leave her when she was hurt and he was ready to die before being a coward. He is less impulsive than some Gryffindors but he is as brave as any of them. I love him, he is such a brave boi.
-Patronus: Beaver                 - Beavers are intelligent and symbolize being strong-willed and determined.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          - (Y/N) is a kind student who gets along with most of their classmates. They like to take care of others in a                            maternal/paternal way. They believe that one of the most important things for someone to be is kind.                            Sometimes kindness is enough.                  -Blood: Pureblood                  -Patronus: Porcupine                          - Porcupines symbolize innocence.
✨ Mirio Togata: Hufflepuff
-Blood: Half-Blood (Mother is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: Mirio could fit into Griffindor with how heroic and self-sacrificing he can be but he ended up in Hufflepuff due to how important his friends are to him. He is one of the most loyal people to exist as well as being a ball of sunshine. Hufflepuffs can be just as much of a hero as a Gryffindor, look at Newt!
-Patronus: Lion                 - Though Mirio isn't in Gryffindor, his Patronus is a lion as they are known for their protective nature and loud beliefs.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - (Y/N) was terrified of being placed in Slytherin as Nightmare would be considered to fit in that house. They,                            on the other hand, fit more into Ravenclaw due to the creativity they possess. They have learned many skills                            in their time of trying to ignore their other side.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Unknown)                  -Patronus: Zebra                          - Zebras symbolize illusions as well as a sense of individuality.
🐙 Tamaki Amajiki: Slytherin
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: Another good example of the side of Slytherin not shown in the series. It is canonically shown that Tamaki is able to run through multiple plans in his head and can change his plan of attack in seconds to accommodate for the new information he has on his enemy.
-Patronus: Opposum                  -Opossums symbolize being intelligent and quick-witted. They are believed to be strategic creatures.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          - (Y/N) is very open-hearted and is ready to take anyone under their wing if they need someone to lean on.                            They are similar to Mirio in their kindness. They are brave but not impulsive on such a belief. They will always                            want to help someone but will take time to come up with a plan.                 -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Monkey                         - The monkey is one of the trickster deities (Especially in Chinese Mythos) and are known to be very curious.
🛠️ Mei Hatsume: Ravenclaw
        -Blood: Half-Blood (Two Half-Blood Parents)
-Explanation of House: Mei is an example of the more rare version of a Ravenclaw which is the chaotic creative student. She also has quite a bit of knowledge and is rather intelligent. Just look at how much she knows about technology and how well she is able to use that to make her 'babies'.
-Patronus: Ferret                  - Ferrets are mischievous creatures who are self-reliant.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          - Just like Mei, (Y/N) is in the chaotic subtype of their house. They are unable to keep themselves in one place                            and don't always think over what they are doing before actually doing it. This is why they end up covered in                             bruises and small cuts.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                   -Patronus: Chipmunk                         - Chipmunks symbolize being energetic and curious independence.
🍙 Itsuka Kendo: Ravenclaw
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: Kendo could fit into Gryffindor but she is too calm and logical in my mind. Yes, there is Hermione but her bravery overweighed her intelligence. Kendo's quick-thinking mind overweighs her more knightly characteristics. Ravenclaws can be heroes too.
-Patronus: Jackel                  - Jackels are symbols for intelligence and tenacity. They also are known to be courageous.
-Partner: Slytherin                         - (Y/N) is known for being mischievous as well as having a very cunning mind. They can be dangerous to those                            that they don't like because they can easily trick someone in one way or another. Make sure not to get on                            their bad side and make them plan revenge. They hold a grudge.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Two Half-Blood Parents)                  -Patronus: Fox                         - Foxes are a trickster creature who are known for their magic and talent in illusions.
🍥 Camie Utsushimi: Hufflepuff
-Blood: Half-Blood (Father is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: She is a stereotypical Hufflepuff, where she is just shoved into a house since she doesn't fit the others. In reality, she is very loyal to those that she cares about and has a naturally kind personality. I also see Camie being patient to those she cares for.
-Patronus: Hyena                  - Hyenas are known for not taking themselves too seriously and have a good sense of humor.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         - Everyone thinks (Y/N) is going to be placed in Slytherin due to their quirk but they are really a Gryffindor.                           They are filled with courage and while they doubt themselves at times, they always come back with high                           self-esteem in the end.                  -Blood: Pureblood                  -Patronus: Orca                         - Orcas represent powerful and thoughtful individuals.
🌊 Neijire Hoda: Hufflepuff
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: This shouldn't be surprising, just look back at the first time she meets 1-A. That girl is filled with so much energy and is giving off so much of a kind aura that she fits perfectly as a Hufflepuff. Yes, she does have a desire for knowledge but she fits more with Hufflepuff than Ravenclaw.
-Patronus: Bee                 -Bees are said to enjoy life as well as being defensive. They are said to symbolize energy.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - While Neijire doesn't fit fully, (Y/N) is a better match for Ravenclaw. They are a quiet and shy person who has                            a hard time expressing themselves. They rely on things such as art and other creative outlets to express                            themselves properly.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Snail                          - Snails are said to be solitary yet still protective.
Pros
⭐ All-Might: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: This is one of the easiest ones to pick. Of course, he is in Gryffindor, he is the definition of being impulsive, especially in his younger days. He is filled with bravery and courage as much as the next hero. He is self-sacrificing which helps place him in this house.
-Patronus: Rhino                 - Rhinos are said to be protective and tenacious.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         - (Y/N), while not as extreme as their s/o, has heroic personality traits that put them in this house. They are                            outgoing and while they are not as impulsive as All-Might, they are able to push through their fear to do                            something if it is going to help someone else.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Father was a Muggle)                  -Patronus: Magpie                         - Magpies are said to be very perceptive and outgoing.
👖 Best Jeanist: Slytherin
        -Blood: Half-Blood (Two Half-blood parents)
-Explanation of House: Best Jeanist seems to be very calculated when it comes to his plans. He knows the importance of having a friendly image like a Gryffindor but with how much of a leader he is, he is more of a serpent. He is a perfect example of Slytherin not being a bad house.
-Patronus: Heron                 - Herons are patient and creatures filled with agility.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - (Y/N) is a logical individual with a good dose of quick-wit which allows them to work with even the toughest                            hero, aka Endeavor. They don't take crap from anyone. They are known to be kind as long as someone                            doesn't lose their trust and respect.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                 -Patronus: Lioness                          - Lionesses are known to symbolize determination as well as persistence.
🔥 Endeavor: Slytherin
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: Of course he is a Slytherin but that isn't just because he is seen as a bad person. He has shown heroic qualities at times but he has shown that he will do whatever he needs to so he can get what he wants. He can be selfish at times, though he is trying to get better.
-Patronus: Wolverine                 - Wolverines are known to be passionate and assertive in what they believe in.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         - (Y/N) follows a strict code that they believe in which mainly involves protecting those that can't protect                                      themselves. They haven't been tainted by the world (Endeavor's Words) and still have that bright-eyed stare.                              They truly only want to help people and have no underlying desires.                 -Blood: Half-Blood (Two Half-Blood Parents)                  -Patronus: Manatee                          - Manatees are said to represent trust as well as feeling content.
🍡 Fatgum: Hufflepuff
-Blood: Half-Blood (Father was a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: A strong Hufflepuff, one of my favorites! Look at how he treats Tamaki and Kirishima. He is firecly loyal to those boys and would die for them if he had to. He also is filled with a truly kind personality, he makes people ease up around him and trust him.
-Patronus: Wild Dog/Painted Dog                 - The wild dog/painted dog is said to represent the importance of family.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          -(Y/N) has no powers but would fit under Hufflepuff if they went to Hogwarts. They enjoy more domestic                                      activities such as baking and any creative activities.                  -Blood: Muggle, no powers                  -Patronus: N/A                          - N/A
🍗 Hawks: Slytherin
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: Hawks has shown that he is willing to do some bad things if it means that the right thing happens in the end. He has heroic qualities and is often mistaken to be a Gryffindor but he is more cunning than the average lion. He will do whatever needs to be done.
-Patronus: Macaw                 - Loud and filled with pride in themselves, Macaws could be said to be overcompensating for something.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                         - While they do have as heroic spirit in them, they are more focused on the care of others to be placed in Gryffindor. They never thought they were going to be placed in that house, which was one reason the sorting hat decided they were in Hufflepuff. They were not overly egotistical in themselves.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Unknown)                  -Patronus: Scarab                         - Scarabs are known for accepting people as well as being open to rebirth and renewal.
🌀 Oboro Shirakumo: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: I see Oboro as a mix between All-Might and Mirio. His reckless nature is what pushes him over from Hufflepuff into Gryffindor. He is willing to do whatever he needs to (self-sacrificing wise) to protect the innocent. He doesn't always think his actions all the way through.
-Patronus: Griffin                 - Griffins are said to be filled with pride and are vigilant to a T.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          - (Y/N) just wishes that everyone can get along. They tend to be more pacifistic then their elder brother Aizawa.                            They are willing to fight if they need to but they prefer to keep things peaceful if that is an option. They use                            their quirk to make people calm down.                 -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Ladybug                         - Ladybugs are said to be good luck and offer protection to those that see them.
💤 Shota Aizawa: Ravenclaw
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: Aizawa is as cunning as any Slytherin and can come up with plans as well as them as well. The thing that keeps Aizawa from being a Slytherin is that his emotions control his actions more than logic does at times. He has to do what his heart tells him is right.
-Patronus: Lynx                  - Lynx are known for being sharp-sighted and secretive with a cunning mind.
-Partner: Gryfinndor                         - (Y/N) may hide it but they are a true hero at heart. They come off as friendly and one would assume they are                            a Hufflepuff until any type of danger presents itself. They quickly turn into a protector and take control of the                             situation to keep as many people safe as possible.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Both Parents are Half-Blood)                  -Patronus: Red Panda                          - Red Pandas are known for being trusting and very patient.
🥕 Miruko: Gryffindor
-Blood: Half-Blood (Mother is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: Does this really need to be explained? She is filled with confidence in herself and is known for many of her heroic personality traits. She is able to defend those when needed and can fight without being crippled in fear like some think she would due to her quirk.
-Patronus: Rat                  - Rats are ambitious and are able to change when necessary. They are also known for being sociable.
-Partner: Slytherin                         -(Y/N) had to learn how to be cunning at a young age due to their quirk. They also had to learn to be careful so                          as not to hurt anyone too badly by accident. They have learned how to twist their words to get what they                          want. A heroic Slytherin.                  -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Squirrel                          - Squirrels symbolize having everything planned out and can be a bit obsessive at times.
🍭 Ms.Joke: Hufflepuff
-Blood: Half-Blood (Father was a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: Again, this one seems like it doesn't need to be explained. Ms.Joke's entire quirk is focused on humor and has let her be a kind person as she has grown. She is a hero, so she could fit in Gryffindor but she isn't impulsive enough or recklessly brave.
-Patronus: Dolphin                 - Dolphins are symbols for emotional intelligence and empathy.
-Partner: Gryffindor                         -Unlike Joke, (Y/N) can't help but be impulsive with their actions. With their quirk, it has allowed them to get                           away with a lot more without repercussions which has caused them to be a bit too reckless at times. They do                           well with someone else by their side to keep them in line.                  -Blood: Pureblood                 -Patronus: Fennec Fox                          - These are like their bigger counterpart with a trickster aspect but they are more light-hearted.
Villains
🎮 Tomura Shigaraki: Slytherin
        -Blood: Halfblood (Mother is Muggle)
-Explanation of House: I know, the classic villain is a Slytherin but he does fit. He is willing to go to any lengths that he needs to get what he wants in the end. In his younger days, he could have been Gryffindor. While he is protective of those around him, in the end, the most important thing to him is his goal.
-Patronus: Elk                 - One version of the symbols that elk represents is power and majesty.
-Partner: Gryffindor                          - (Y/N) has a very heroic set of ideals and beliefs. They fight for the weak, which is how they got themselves                            wrapped up with the league. What they are worried about is that the longer they stay with the LOV, the more                            they are beginning to question their beliefs.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Father is a Muggle)                  -Patronus: Gazelle                         - Gazelles are known for their awareness and cautious personality.
💀 Dabi: Gryffindor
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: NOW LISTEN, I know he has burned people up and has been a terrible person but there is nothing saying Gryffindors can't be bad. As Touya, he definitely would be a Gryffindor. As Dabi, he would lean toward Slytherin but he is quite daring and he is confident in himself. He wouldn't get expelled but he would run away.
-Patronus: Scorpion                 - Scorpions symbolize self-preservation and defense as well as sharp spitting-wit.
-Partner: Ravenclaw                          - (Y/N) had to take care of themselves from a very young age which left them to learn everything on their own.                            This led to their small obsession with information. They feel safer the more that they know, it allows them to                            be ready for more situations so they can protect themselves.                  -Blood: Unknown                 -Patronus: Sheep                          - Sheep are often seen as a sacrificial animal that can be used with no real remorse.
⏳ Overhaul: Slytherin
        -Blood: Pureblood
-Explanation of House: So here we have the classic Slytherin. Yes he is evil but it is his cunning nature that puts him in Slytherin. He has an entire group working under him and knows how to negotiate as shown with Shigaraki. He would probably end up getting expelled for some experiment.
-Patronus: Cheetah                  - Cheetah's symbolize someone always moving forward with a set goal in mind.
-Partner: Hufflepuff                          - (Y/N) is very loyal to a very few amount of people, but would fight for them, until they die. They like to be                           around those that they trust and tend to be very timid. They are close to being in fight or flight mode at all                           moments as if ready for any threat.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Deer                          - Deer are known for their innocence and are meant to symbolize a light for others to guide them home.
🎭 Twice: Hufflepuff
        -Blood: Muggleborn
-Explanation of House: Twice is shown to be fiercely loyal to the League. He is definitely the most loyal of the bunch. He also has a naturally good heart, even if his mind is a bit cracked. He hasn't gone out of his way to hurt others unless they threaten his self-made family.
-Patronus: Elephant                  - Elephants symbolize loyalty and commitment.
-Partner: Gryffindor                          - (Y/N) used to be much braver when they had their quirk. They still possess some of that bravery but there is                           always a small amount of nervousness and pause when it comes to making a decision. They are learning how                            to feel safe again with the league and are slowly regaining that confidence they used to possess.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Mother is a Half-Blood)                  -Patronus: Robin                          - A robin is a symbol of growth and renewal.
🍚 Mustard: Ravenclaw
-Blood: Half-Blood (Father is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: I like to think Mustard is actually pretty smart, especially when it comes to chemistry. Due to his own quirk, he would be interested in other chemical reactions and such which would cause him to study them when he was younger. He uses logic and intelligence when it comes to fighting.
        -Patronus:                 -
-Partner: Slytherin                          - They had to grow up rather quickly which taught them that one of the only ways to live was to lie to get what                            you want. They do not lie to those that they get close to. They have high walls but with enough                             determination, one can get close to them in which they become attached to the person. (Y/N) becomes very                             fierce if it comes to protecting those they care about.                  -Blood: Muggleborn                  -Patronus: Chameleon                         - Chameleons are able to change what they are to suit the situation, ever-changing.
🔪 Himiko Toga: Hufflepuff
-Blood: Half-Blood (Father is a Muggle)
-Explanation of House: She is easily loyal to those that she cares about and she relies on her emotions heavily. While she is threatening and crazy, she is friendly in her own strange way. She can be hardworking when she wants to, oftentimes when one of her friends needs help.
-Patronus: Bat                  - Bats are known to symbolize good luck and rebirth.
-Partner: Gryffindor                          - (Y/N) is quite impulsive due to their own quirk. They are brave and self-sacrificing when it comes to those that                            they are close to. They have their own code that they live by, such as the one that Stain believed in. This is                            what puts them in Gryffindor instead of another house like Slytherin.                  -Blood: Half-Blood (Both Parents are Half-Blood)                 -Patronus: Honey Badger                          -(Y/N) may not be in Hufflepuff, but their Patronus is a Honey Badger. They symbol fierce loyalty and passion.

i really love how dmc approaches the relationship between human and demonic selves, especially in the light of it acting as contrast to how regular, average people struggle to accept parts themselves, the beautiful, the ugly, the parts that are both. dante has the most development simply bc he's the longest running protag of the series but also he's had games entirely dedicated low-key to his developing relationship and eventual acceptance of his human and demonic sides, even tho i think his are more clear cut (dmc1 & dmc3) meanwhile nero (dmc4 & dmc5) and vergil (dmc5) have more subtle and almost cramped development in a way
[ranting abt dante, vergil, & nero's character development throughout the franchise under the cut bc this also got rlly long,,,]
dante is interesting post dmc3 just bc he's both written 2 b a continuous character w no real conclusion to his character in order to continually write him into dmc games and content, BUT he still reaches SOME conclusions to character arcs in dmc1 and dmc3, and afterwards we see how those conclusions have aged with him— aged is the important word there, because changes in dante's character are both from the perspective on nero (his villainous aura at the beginning of dmc4) and the simple fact that where a lot of characters don't actively age and mature the same way real people do, in video game media especially, dante DOES and this changes how we would expect him to react in games liek 4 and 5
i think part of the reason the dynamic between vergil and dante has shifted by dmc5 is not only bc of vergils speedrun development in the same game, but also because you could reasonably say that while vergil expects a fight w him similar to their past fights, you could argue he is also a little bit unsettled with how dante's changed in the time theyve been separated. because despite how they tend to mirror each other as children and their journey thru dmc as a franchise can be framed as the same One character put thru different yet similar traumatic events, vergil even remarks about it at the top of the qliphoth, that difference here is that by dmc4 and DEF dmc5 dante has evolved past that where vergil is just beginning to really see it.
dante has had the time to process it. he went thru all this development years ago. it's had time to sit with him and age and ferment. dante is now tired, almost apathetic. he's disinterested with life and the cards he's been dealt with. at least in dmc4 and between dmc1 and 4, the anime too, he was sort of. rueful and upset about it? but he's seemed to move past that at this point. he is a character who has done everything there is to do. there is nothing and nobody who can challenge him, and even the concept doesn't catch his full attention. vergil is a trigger topic, it sets him off instantly, probably because vergil is the only constant in his life that will live as long and is as impossibly stubborn as dante is.
he doesn't chase vergil because he's necessarily hurting people with the dmc5 red grave massacre or trying to end the world in some great fashion and dante will have fun or at least get a thrill from defeating him or dying trying— cutting thru urizens forces are a pain in the ass and a waste of time. he wants the main course. he wants to be done with it. not to say he wouldn't have fun fighting, but he doesn't get the thrill he does when he's younger anymore. he wants to end their feud, seeming to be with the intention of making up with him even if he's come to terms with vergil's pride being what will force dante to kill him in the end
fighting with vergil in the underworld afterwards, having someone like him to keep him company, to share those experiences with, it's everything he needed and more i think. the repairing of their relationship, the new partner in a life none can truly relate to. i mean, both brothers treat nero like a child, he's the closest either of them can get to someone who understands, but nobody will understand truly like they will
vergil meanwhile, decides very young that power is all he needs and it will solve all his problems. and you know, at the time maybe it does. but eventually, when forced to admit it isn't, when put between dante and more power despite it being a hollow motivation, he chooses power and the end of dmc3 to the events of dmc1 happens.
dmc5 is unique in that v is forced to retrace vergils steps. they're put through the same paces: he is put in a position of fear after his 'birth', he chooses life, and then goes hunting for power to keep himself alive afterwards. but not only does he have his familiars to balance him out in a way vergil never had (and that dante has in trish and lady,) but his demonic tendencies can't overwhelm him, he has room to grow and accept and come to realizations he can only reach as a clear headed human. he is able to actively use empathy and sympathy, even against his will. he realizes that power isn't everything. that the atrocities he's committed in the name of his own growth in power are just that, atrocities. that he feels regret for what he has done. that he wants to find away to atone for those actions.
he is forced to accept the strengths and weaknesses of his humanity, but also the same coin's other side, the horrible things he's done in the past, the horrible things his demon self is currently doing unchecked, and v resolves to change that even at the cost of his human outlook, even at the gravity of his actions being leveled against vergil in all their horror. he learns to accept that part of himself, both parts, everything bad he can commit with his two hands, but also with nero, nico, his familiatr, the good that can be done. the weeds that can fight to grow through the cracks.
nero spends dmc4 learning how to be a demon. hes force to learn how to deal with and manage his demonic changes. for a few weeks he has his demon arm, when he previously believed himself to be entirely human, and is then forced to come to terms with his yamato trigger and all the changes that brings. he even promises to himself, having grown up on a hyper religious island that loathes demonkind and reveres sparda, that even if humanity learns to hate him and fear him, he will still stick to his steadfast morals, his drive to achieve his goal of saving kyrie and greater fortuna. i also think a lot of dmc4 is nero becoming comfortable with his true nature. he comes into himself in dmc4 as a mouthy, demonic-warped demon hunter with a bad attitude in contrast to the bored, slightly tempered teen who broods in church even as kyrie attempts to wrangle him at the beginning of the game
dmc5 i think is nero's human game in the sense that he's forced to relearn how to be human. he spends five+ years as a demonic freak of nature, powerful on an island of human people with no demonic power. he's downright untouchable. after losing his bringer and his powers, he's forced back to square one, human again. i think dante believes nero is deadweight in the sense that nero is weak again, without any kind of demonic power and will get himself killed easily fighting urizen despite his hybrid resilience that still lingers. nero is angered by this— by his weakness, by the fact that he promised dante to keep the yamato safe and had it stolen from him, by his lack of agency. dante wasn't even going to tell nero, v, some random-ass goth, had to fetch him. he feels he isn't enough anymore, and dante's words are poorly timed— they sting particularly hard i think, considering he is nero's only unofficial family at the time, and family is his soft spot.
i also think nero coming to terms with vergil and dante being his father and uncle respectively takes up a lot of this arc of his– he is forced to grapple with what family means to him, what he is willing to do for family, when his only relationship with family has been his experiences as an orphan with strange white hair and a bad attitude in fortuna of all places, fostered by kyries parents who seemed to only take a liking to him at first for how much he resembled the Savior™. kyrie and credo were his only family after they died, and it's kyrie who reminds him of his own beliefs, in his own love and stubborn, headstrong dedication and determination for the well being of his found family, even as that found family suddenly includes actual blood family. he also has to try and understand dante and his perspective, who hid this from him. maybe out of fear of disappointing him, maybe out of concern of how he would take it, maybe because he thought nero was better off with the family he found than with the knowledge of how much bloody weight he carries, the heavy history of their family, didn't want to give that weight to him.
nero sort of learns here that seemingly good people do bad things for the right reasons. sometimes bad people do bad things because they think it's the best of the shitty choices. sometimes bad and good people just don't exist, and there's no good choice. he learns unwavering forgiveness, unconditional and true. all of these lessons he's lost between dmc4 and 5

swap for you and pyra, if you want!!! ~zale
Ooh, that could be pretty interesting! Thank you very much for this, @setzale!~
(question source: “Okay Hear Me Out, Ask Game” by dragonsmooch)
Swap: Your S/I and your F/O(s) exchange roles for a day, willingly or begrudgingly, casually or through supernatural circumstances. How well (or terribly) does it go? Alternatively, how would things be different if the roles had always been swapped? - this will probably be focusing more on the second concept. Now, I have a Driver Sapphire AU, but I’ve never thought about an Aegis Sapphire AU.. and hey, wait, what if Avalon replaced Malos in this AU, because we need more light-element antagonists in games and whatnot, that could also be a cool twist!!
Sapphire as an Aegis would be enthusiastic about and protective of humans, above all else. She’s fascinated by the ways that they look out for each other, the ways they try and make a name for themselves, the ways they can all band together when the situation calls for it. For all their flaws, they have so much incredible potential, and have already done so much in the world that she has been awake for. She may not fit in with them well, but that’s part of why she likes them - because even if she is clearly so different to them, the group she’s found herself in still welcome her. ..She also knows how Avalon could so easily have been so similar to her in terms of outlook, if only they had been awakened by another, kinder, Driver.
To bring it back to a swap concept, would this make Pyra and Mythra Vandham’s (twin?) daughters? Thinking about them having the Urayan accent (i.e. an Australian accent) is a very amusing concept, haha =P - but I think it could be interesting for both of them to be powerful mercenaries in their own right, even if they aren’t actually Drivers! Maybe the swords that they carry were designed to mimic how Sapphire’s own Aegis Sword appears from legends, so they get to keep their normal weapons even if they wouldn’t be Blade weapons in this AU.
(Of course, given what Sapphire in the normal version of events technically actually is, it could be interesting to think about how Pyra and Mythra ended up as that kind of entity too, which is maybe why their weapons stay so fancy.)
I hope this was alright! Thank you very much again for this, friend ^-^

Alternate Perceptions- AHiT Idea
So, after accidently smashing head first into A Hat in Time Fandom and all their good shit, I got ideas some that refuse to be written, and one of them I thought I note out. (heavily inspired by doodledrawsthings, seriously, there stuff is so good.)
So, welcome to Alternate Perceptions! We can have multiple POVs here, so lets have fun with this.
First up, we have Prince Luke, who is taking a break from Law School for the summer to spend time with his fiance, Vanessa. Everything is just fine swell, normal carefree days, when the Prince and Princess starts to hear about rumors about a look-a-like. Sure, he’s heard some things while at the University, one person even said he looked so weird with a smile on his face ?? but Luke didn’t really question or think long on it... at least until someone, a noble in fact, asks if the Prince has a brother?
-
Luke blinked in surprise at the question, Vanessa even paused as she considered the man.
“I do not believe so...” Luke answered slowly, even as carefully took in the now sweating noble. Vanessa, do you really need to stare so hard?
“Ah, I see; sorry, just met an older chap and some girls, his daughter and her friend I believe, and he looked incredibly like your father.” the man excused, even as Luke tried his best not to twitch.
His father, the former and now retired King of another kingdom close to Subcon, while now known for his loyalty and incredible love for his wife... was formerly a rather... free young man in his youth.
‘Hopefully not another claiming they are the rightful heir to the thrown, there is a reason Uncle is in charge.’ Luke smiled, even as he felt Vanessa hold his hand in hers. It was a well known trouble that occasionally popped up here and there, people claiming to have raised a Royal’s bastard or claiming to be such even after the tests failed.
(At least his father had been careful, if not smart in his youth.)
“I’ll probably have to send a letter to Uncle later about this, I’m sure he’ll appreciate the warning of someone coming.”
-
The thing is, no one ever pops up. Oh, apparently this potential headache did go to his Uncle’s Kingdom, but never went to the castle at all. In fact, from what he heard, the man and two girls ended up saving a square full of people from some sort of explosion in a plaza, accepting thanks and food from the happy citizens, but actually refusing to go a step closer to the castle.
(There is much to say from the citizens, those who managed to take a peek of the man who managed to keep a heavy cloak on even in all the chaos, only for it to get knocked off in accident by a rescued child.
With those features, glowing golden eyes and a heavy scowl, one would almost think they were looking at the Former King in his youth.)
That was... suspicious. If the Prince wasn’t assured that the perpetrator of the explosion was caught, he might have thought the man was involved somehow. but as it goes, more and more stories come out, about this unusual trio going around, helping out here and there, even unearthing corrupted nobles and becoming one of the most talked about subjects since the Subcon Duchess’s scandals.
And yet, it seems besides occasionally seen entering in Subcon Forest, this trio hasn’t actually stepped foot in Subcon itself.
Not until one unusual event.
-
Prince Luke gasped, for a good minute thankful for the harsh taskmaster his sword instructor was, insisting that the rest of the body needed to be just as trained as his hands and feet. Otherwise, carrying his beloved to safety might have been just that bit harder, what with all the finery her station required her to wear, though it was still a relief when he could finally set her down. But watching how the manor warped and twisted around them, the floor seeming to turn into actual lava, even ice in some places, the young royal couldn’t help but feel his stomach drop, even as him and the remaining nobles in the room clung to their last piece of safety in the ballroom that, that monster just transformed.
For a good minute, Luke just felt himself breathe, trying to calm down and think of a solution, only to be shocked when two children, just little girls at that, ran past him. He made to reach out to them, to maybe stop them, just about to call out to them, when he heard-
“My Prince, what are you thinking? We just barely escaped with our lives!” Vanessa exclaimed, holding on tight to the arm at his side.
“But those girls-”
“The kiddos will be fine; might want to worry about yourself more foool.” was cut in, the voice harsh and grim, but ever so familar in a way?. Turning as one, the nobles and Royals took in a heavily cloaked figure, golden lights the only thing one could see in the darkness of their hood.
“Snatcher! Do you think you can reach that lever over there? We’ll need that if we want to beat this guy and seal the rift!” one of the girls called out, the bow wearing one in fact.
“On it.” and with that, the other was moving, up and away from them (almost like they were running away it seemed).
-
With the trio coming in, they stop the being, and even return the place back to normal, much to everyone’s gratefulness.
But in all the confusion and chaos, the one called Snatcher and once Dad by the hat wearing girl, gets his cloak blown off, revealing their face to all.
Its.. it’s like looking in a twisted mirror in a way, because he sees in him the features of his father easily, it’s the same Luke had inherited, but where Luke has his mother’s smile and soft brown eyes to soften his features, you can see none of that in this Snatcher’s harden, tired face and glowing amber golden eyes.
The Eyes only Royal’s in Luke’s family can inherit. Eyes that show the Magic in their line, making them able to inherit the throne...
Things just got that much more complicated.
(Meanwhile, a Queen to be looks at this impostor, seeing this similar being to her perfect prince and inwardly seethes... and yet... Shows her sides she has never seen of her dear sweet Prince... It is a conflict of emotions she feels; does she want this man gone and buried, for twisting her beloved Prince’s image... or would he be a nice addition to the dungeons, for her to appreciate when her longing grows?)
-
Meanwhile, the Other POV we can have!
So, normal day for Snatcher and the kids, just chilling in the pillow pile, getting ready for another exploration on the planet... when some idiot a world over plays around with time pieces, accidentally piercing through to them, the only other time that so many time pieces were gathered in their world and planet. This unfortunately drags the three over there, meeting the idiot and their plan to get revenge on the kingdoms around them any means necessary.
So, their is some good news, bad news, and just oh good moon why.
Good news! It will not ruin their time line, their past has long since set, and they have no worries about messing with things here too much.
Bad news! If they happen to get too involve here in this world (i.e. forming magical bonds, eating magical food, using to much or many magical items that were created in this world) they risk never being able to go back home!
Oh good Moon Why News: it is a near perfect replica of Subcon Past, with Crazy Vanessa and a whipped Prince Luke running around, still ‘happy’ as it were. And they have to fix all these rifts in this world, along with stopping the head idiot in order to fix everything and go back to their own, meaning they will have to explore everywhere around them, Subcon and it’s terrible memories included.
Alternatly, this could also be called~
Snatcher’s no good, terrible, horrible, truly abhorring, detestable time in an Alternate Universe of Subcon and the Kingdoms around it.
The Snatch is not a happy camper, especially since he is now stuck in a meat suit. Luckily, he can use minor, low, low powered version of his powers. (now, I don’t know if he got transformed before or during all this, because both would be juicy, so I won’t say.) otherwise, Snatcher would be very tempted to listen to that dark little voice inside that says screw everything and one.
He is not smiling, there are no smiles to be found, and everyone who meets him doesn’t mistake him for the prince. (because I find the thought funny on just how different a person can look with a whole different outlook and expression on their face.) Ironically, he gets the cloak because he doesn’t want to be mistaken for the prince or be accused of being a body snatcher or something, only for it not to even be needed for that in the end, though he doesn’t know this for a good, long while. (To not be mistaken as a illegitimate child or possible lost royal heir on the other hand... yeah.)
(The girls are doing their best to help how they can, providing distractions and just being themselves, getting a now rare smile out of the glowing eyed man before them.
It... it really helps)
Also, at one point, I want both Bow and Hat to just go yeet with Snatcher or vice versa, something all three trouble makers agreed to do if needed. Also, Snatcher Carrying one girl over his shoulder while the other under his arm as they run from something is a need as well.
(And maybe, in a moment of panic, of triggers and shaking, where Snatcher finds he can’t move, the two girls get protective, using a cheat or natural strength, they end up carrying their purple dad somewhere he can stress and panic in piece.)
Just, we can see the perceptions of everyone around us, with all these outside points of view, and we can really explore all the fun and tears to be had... welp, it’s at least fun to think about.
(also, interaction between Prince and Snatcher, with Snatcher having no worries of affecting the timeline... are fun to think on as well...)

The Wylaai
Strength in Unity
Tumblr media
Banner art based on and supported by my Patrons ♥
The icy tundra and deep forests of Ivendarea’s north and northeast are the home of the Wylaai. Having a reputation of being the proudest of the Nyr, they strongly believe in fate and prophecy, in the importance of unity, and in daring to walk out of their usual path. Iovana Neron, the founder and unifier of the nation was the leader of a Wylaai tribe. Through him they have been given the reputation of being charismatic, provident, and diplomatic even in the face of great challenges.

Culture and History
Once spread far along Ivendarea’s eastern shoreline, from the northern capital Canwyl to Beldran and beyond, the Wylaai suffered heavy losses during Zerenda’s invasion. After Beldran had fallen many of them returned to the north or fled to the west and south. Until today they are persistent advocates of the nation’s unity. They look forward to a time of being at peace again, be it under Assadin rule or with their own Iovana at the head of government again.
Cultural Heritage
Once wandering nomads at home in the Ivendarean tundra and taiga, the hunter-gatherers, ice-fishers, and animal herders were always used to a life of extremes. Travelling far distances with sleighs that can be re-purposed into carriages and vice versa depending on the weather conditions, the Wylaai roamed for many years before settling down for the first time in the area that is now Canwyl. While the Wylaai aren’t nomadic anymore for the most part, their sleighs are still an important part of their culture and have become the centre of sporting events and spare time.
The same applies to their hunting and fishing days - both aren’t practised anymore by the majority of the population ever since Aman rose to godhood and their Teachings of not killing animals for food or clothing were spread. The Wylaai early on recognized the importance of the “cult” around Aman. After the Gideya were one of the first to fully integrate Aman’s teachings into their everyday lives the Wylaai quickly followed suit.
The old capital is characterized by its use of glass in many aspects of its architecture. This dates back to the founding days of the nation, when the Gideya helped the Wylaai in setting up farmland in the cold north, sharing their knowledge as well as seeds and workforce to bring in the first harvest. The Wylaai would never have to suffer hunger again, even in the harshest of winters. Most of the farmland lies within large green houses still standing until today, and the glass-elements, symbolizing warmth and life, have found their way into many residential and commercial buildings.
The inhabitants of the cold north can also pride themselves with their extensive bath-house culture, brought on by the many natural hot-springs in the region. Canwyl has many public bathhouses, and the relaxation and health benefits a day in the bathhouse promises was already enough incentive for this piece of culture to spread across Ivendarea and be greeted with open arms.
Language and Dialect
The Wylaai speak the purest version of Nyrval - no wonder, as it was through their efforts that the language was standardized to begin with when Ivendarea was in its early years. In day-to-day life most Wylaai speak exclusively in their native language, but Trade or Azash for example are also spoken by most.
Shared Values
Standing strong together as a unity is everything to the Wylaai. Perseverance is a virtue taught to children from an early age, as is looking out for each other and seeking help if needed. The Wylaai easily forgive, even missteps that might not be as easily overlooked by others. But they aim to solve all problems as a community and want to uphold their unity. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and making mistakes is part of the learning process.
This does not mean that there is no punishment. In fact, though it is, important and carried out consistently, it always goes hand in hand with social rehabilitation. Remembering the past and history to prevent the same mistakes from being made over and over is necessary to build a future together.
The Wylaai are known to be the most cheerful people of Ivendarea. Despite or maybe because of the often-harsh living conditions of their original homelands, the Wylaai always have a hopeful outlook to the future. Difficulties and obstacles are a challenge they tackle with fierce ingenuity - and if a plan fails on the first attempt there’s no shame in asking for help and trying again.
Despite their remote and isolated main settlement Canwyl the Wylaai are open to new ideas, wanting to honour the memory of Neron, whose life’s work it had been to celebrate the Nyr’s differences and commonalities alike. Many would call their open-mindedness “naivete”, especially cases such as Iovana Fannyel inviting king Zerenda to the Emerald Palace - still believing that after the destruction of Beldran the invader would be willing to come to a peaceful arrangement. Surviving thousands of years in a hostile, infertile environment has made the Wylaai resilient and inventive - they believe a failure always means new chances, too. Without a positive attitude and a willingness to walk new paths, to go out of one’s comfort zone and trusting in intuition rather than logic, they might not have lasted as long and come as far as they did.
Historical Figures
Neron, called “Iovana”, the unifier; was once an influential chief of a Wylaai tribe. He was the first Nyr to go out of his way and formed alliances with other far away tribes during a series of particularly harsh winters, which eventually led to the birth of Ivendarea as a united nation.
Fannyel was the last Iovana before Zerenda conquered Ivendarea. He tried to make peace with the invader but ended up being slain in front of his throne, and his partner Ylla and daughter Brestine fled to Maan Garth.
Common Etiquette
The Wylaai are open-minded and hospitality is particularly important to them, especially when it comes to strangers from far away paying them a visit in the cold north. A lot of time is spent with family and friends, big dinners for a whole community coming together to are common. Refusing an invitation without a very severe reason is considered rude - even if the host would never tell this to your face.
Positive thinking is a virtue and speaking ill of others (or oneself) is frowned upon. Everyone has a bad day or horrible encounters with others now and then, but chronic moaners and complainers not doing anything to make their unpleasant situation better aren’t well-liked. The same goes for spreading gossip, rumours, and panic; sensationalism and causing a fuss without a life-threatening reason are not favoured among the level-headed Wylaai.
Humour on the other hand is cherished, not taking oneself too seriously, or putting on a smile even in the darkest times can be observed often. This is another reason why outsiders would call the Wylaai naive or even accuse them of never taking anything seriously, but these critics couldn’t be further from the truth. The Wylaai believe that nothing makes your enemies more insecure than brightly smiling at them. Humour and a positive attitude show strength of will and character, not giving in to intimidation tactics.
Fashion
Similar to how red hair is associated with remembering the past and pride for one’s identity, green clothing is a sign of pride for Canwyl and Ivendarea as the Wylaai’s homeland. The Green River is Ivendarea’s lifeblood, the first green saplings of spring symbolize the cycle of rebirth, and Canwyl’s green glass roofs show the great achievements and ingenuity of the Nyr as a nation.
Green, particularly emerald tones are also associated with themes of nobility and heritage, although not exclusively worn by those of a higher social standing. Wylaai clothing is also characterized by its many functional layers that insulate against the cold. The top layer is usually thick and held in neutral tones that blend in with the bleak surroundings. Robust fabrics that are easy to clean and not too much of a loss when damaged during work are also a common choice when it comes to the coats worn on top.
The layers underneath though, the clothing worn for social gatherings, around the house, to the temple - they are richly adorned, bright, vibrant colours of all possible combinations and patterns resembling Canwyl’s famous mosaics, materials ranging from fine wool and linen to silk.
Tumblr media
A Wylaai individual in typical work attire with tight-fitting trousers and a short coat as well as thick scarf, compared to a more casual, even festive outfit for indoor wear. On the right a flowing coat richly adorned is worn on top - these types of coats are mostly seen in casual everyday life as well as during travel.
Art and Architecture
The architecture of the Wylaai is truly one of a kind. Canwyl, which was built on their lands, is Ivendarea’s oldest city and has been its capital for millennia until comparatively recently. Considered the birthplace and heart of the modern Ivendarea, immense effort and work went into making the city the most outstanding one using the resources close by, but also not hesitating to incorporate materials from all over the nation in equal parts.
The huge Emerald Palace in the heart of Canwyl is the most unique piece of art and architecture. Built from metal, marble, and stained glass its tallest tower can be seen from miles away, higher than the surrounding forests, and in the harsh winters a lighthouse in an endless white sea guiding lost travellers to safety. Its name stems from the emerald green colour of its glass windows and roofs. In the centre of the building lies a huge garden frozen in ice all year round, beautifully kept and its pools of water adorned with mosaics retelling the events leading up to the founding of the nation.
Canwyl’s architecture isn’t only impressive and beautiful, it is also technically ingenious, looking on the inside. Not only the palace, many buildings have elaborated, often decorative heating elements and running water powered by the subterranean hot springs.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
The Wylaai grow their hair out long, often wearing it intrinsically braided or pulled to the back for practicality. They Wylaai are a people of artisans also known for grand celebrations. Glass- and metal pearls and other ornaments are sometimes incorporated even in day-to-day life hairstyles. This is a long-standing tradition from before Ivendarea’s tribes were united and the Wylaai were still traveling nomads. The use of decorations of a specific colour or number can give clues to social status, but more often nowadays hair ornaments can also be just that: accessories without any deeper meaning.
Red hair and red eyes are considered particularly beautiful and express a certain melancholy. Iovana Fannyel had both these features, as does his daughter Brestine. Both are symbol figures of the old Ivendarea before its conquest) and dyeing one’s hair red is a sign of Nyr pride and valuing the past.
Courtship Ideals
Courtship is direct and playful, handled a little like a game where the waters are carefully tested, and honesty plays a big part. There are no strict rules, social conventions, or a lot of seriousness involved. Happy small surprises like small gifts left in unusual locations only the receiver would know about are common. It has become tradition to leave a plant sapling in its pot on one’s object-of-desire’s windowsill - symbolizing a new hopeful beginning, life, and growth.
Adventurous escapes to secret natural hot springs and the like are also an activity many couples engage in - it’s so popular actually that it happens on a regular basis to run into a different couple already at the spot one had thought was a top-secret romantic location. It’s all taken in good humour though and who knows... something interesting can sometimes blossom from random encounters like this as well.
Relationship Ideals
Comfort, home, unity - all those are especially important to the Wylaai in daily life and in relationships. Polyamorous and open relationships are common, love and partnership are celebrated, and children are regarded as particularly precious. Childhood friendships usually last a lifetime and even over big distances it is ensured to stay in regular contact. Strength lies in unity.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not certain about Clover's character either since we don't get to explore his thought processes but I have fun testing out alternative readings of the character like is he actually confident or faking it to hide an inferiority complex. Either interpretation can work depending how you frame it so it's fun to posit about both. One thing interesting with the scenes you mention is Clover never refers to his luck as something solely for him to benefit from. 1/?
In the mines he says Qrow is the one who is lucky not something like “Well lucky for me my semblance is Good Fortune”. He wishes others like Robyn luck but at the manor says “Wish us luck” and when Qrow makes a joke that put Clover in the spotlight as the source of that luck Clover pauses and brightens. The van scene has a similar spin Clover says the kids are lucky to have a mentor (Qrow) and not everyone is as lucky. Is this him acknowledging his own good fortune 2/?
Or did he grow up without a mentor and “get lucky enough” to make it through regardless. Either reading works. Clover’s semblance is unique in that unlike other privileges in the real world, like being born with a lot of money, Clover is the only person with his circumstances. Meaning he would constantly be reminded that his point of view is not the norm. Perhaps he’s even hyper vigilant about it similar to how Qrow likely blames every bad thing on his luck Clover second guesses every good 3/?
Maybe Clover’s the type to not trust naturally good events or believe they are normal occurrences. Maybe he doesn’t talk about bad things because he thinks that’s just how things are. A lot of people with various mental illnesses/neurodivergentices don’t realize they are different they just think that’s how things are. Do his cocky moments come off negative because of pride or difficulty connecting or both. What ever you decide its fun to speculate and I enjoy stories that explore that.
You’re very welcome, Anon! But wow, I’m honestly a bit floored at all of this. In a good way, of course! I just hope I can do justice to the time you’ve taken to think and write all this out. With that said, here goes?
I think that’s exactly what makes Clover an interesting character to write. While it’s bittersweet that we didn’t get much backstory or a wider arrangement of scenarios to see him act in, it’s also fun to see how people fill in the gaps themselves. People can go a confident, flirty route, and it fits. Others can portray a secretive, somber side, and it works just as well. It’s definitely fun to build him up based on what we’ve been given, and there are people who seem to enjoy any and all sides people want to portray.
With those scenes you’ve mentioned, starting with the mine scene, Clover wishing Qrow luck always made me… well, curious, I guess? Here’s a man well-known (infamously or otherwise) across Remnant, and when he says he has the direct opposite of Clover’s semblance, that he carries misfortune with him regardless of his own consent, Clover takes a second before telling him it’s a shame that Qrow thinks he’s better off working alone because of it. I’ve never been able to tell if that’s because he thinks semblances like theirs can work to their benefits (since it’s been shown) or if he’s trying to offer comfort in some way.
But it’s almost bittersweet, that scene. Since Clover is practically everything Qrow could be, even when you remove the good luck semblance: his appearance is of a strong, capable leader with his head on straight who cares for those under his charge. (Not that Qrow isn’t any of these himself, but self-perceptions are rarely skewed in the positive in situations like that.) So I have to wonder if Clover’s “lucky you, huh?” can be Clover actually saying something like, “it’s okay,” - something based off first impressions - and if Qrow can work towards believing that after everything he had gone through prior to Atlas. Coming from someone outside of the kids and Tai, or Summer - a reassurance of lingering good despite the ever-lasting bad - I still can’t shake the fact that it’d be a bitter pill for Qrow to swallow regardless of Clover’s intentions, and regardless that a friendship did eventually bloom between them.
With wishing Robyn luck, I like to think it’s because Clover knows that despite their differences in alliances, in tactics, he knows that she’s doing her damndest for her people - she’s doing whatever she can regardless of what’s stopping her, and I think he not only admires that tenacity but relates to it. Or perhaps he aspires towards it. It seemed to hint at some connection prior to what we saw, be it just them working on opposite sides or if they knew each other from elsewhere, but I liked the humanity it showed in Clover. It’s hard to wish someone luck when they’re against you, and considering it came from him (and given the voice actor’s tone in this scene), it sounded… genuine. You’re right, he doesn’t seem to be greedy with his positive fortune.
And with him reacting to Qrow joking with him in the manor, that was honestly delightful. Not just because it’s someone else who can theoretically understand how their semblances impact their lives, but it’s Qrow giving just as good as he’s gotten from Clover’s jokes or comments. I think it makes more of an impact on Clover than we were shown. Anyone can say good luck and mean it, but Qrow says it and it’s different. Because they’re both aware of the man’s relationship with good luck, and I think that’s why Clover’s so amused there, why he brightens. Almost like he’s proud? I guess I just like the thought that they can learn something from one another, that the world can still surprise them at their ages.
I adore the mentor conversation. Qrow seems to internalize his doubts and grievances, so it was nice to have it spoken aloud (especially since he couldn’t exactly go back to drinking away those feelings, and the fact he admitted that so easily also warms me.) And while the amount of time they’ve known each other is a mystery, it’s nice to see Clover had a good enough read on him to tell him that Qrow’s doing a fine job despite everything going against him. Bad luck semblance or not, I like to imagine that the kids are lucky to have Qrow with them, despite the ups and downs that happened during the journey. Especially with Qrow working on improving himself and making amends, however slow going they may be, having his expertise is just as important an asset as his company. With how that relates to Clover, him telling Qrow he’s lucky in that sense when others aren’t struck me as Clover not being so fortunate to have someone to guide him. I don’t know if it was the tone of voice or the flow of the scene, but it sounded something close to loneliness. An accepted loneliness, sure, but I wonder about it.
I like to think Clover definitely has moments of where he questions if something happened due to his luck or because of the effort put in, or whatever other factors involved. It’d probably be hard not to, even if it ends up in a positive outcome. It’d probably lend itself to some paranoia or maybe even a sense of depression, which I think helps in how he seems to understand some of where Qrow’s coming from. To Qrow, it’d probably seem close to a slap in the face to hear that having constant good luck could be a bad thing, but I think there is some merit in positives and negatives being on both sides of their coin. In regards to his outlook, there’s some merit there in settling into one’s situation and having it be the only thing you’ve known, especially if it isn’t necessarily challenged. I like to think his cockiness stems from knowing his fortune, knowing his limits, and knowing that he’s an esteemed importance to those he serves. I like to think he’s earned it simply because it never sounded like it came from a bad place, or a place where he was on a pedestal looking down. Granted that’s just my interpretation but Clover is definitely a character I’ve enjoyed seeing people interpert differently. The creativity is inspiring.
Well, um, I hope this suffices? I have to say, I’m a bit curious as to why you came to me with these, but I’m not ungrateful. It’s been really nice, and hopefully someone enjoys these rambles. Feel free to talk with me anytime, on anon or otherwise - and thank you, again.

Astrology for Dummies
*anon I hope you don't mind, I took your title lol
Houses within Astrology
Placidus House System is its name and modern Western Astrology is its game *air horn x3*
To begin here is a little cheat sheet about Houses/Signs/Planets/Modes (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable) rulings:
(House is ruled by sign ->Sign rules Planet -> Mode is temperament of the sign)
1st: Aries-Mars-C             5th: Leo-Sun-F              9th: Sagittarius-Jupiter-M
2nd: Taurus- Venus-F        6th: Virgo-Mercury-M   10th:Capricorn- Saturn-C
3rd: Gemini-Mercury-M     7th: Libra- Venus-C      11th: Aquarius- Uranus-F
4th: Cancer- Moon-C        8th:Scorpio- Pluto-F     12th: Pisces- Neptune-M
Cool lil’ thing to note: It’s ordered by element and mode!
 ~Fire->Earth->Air->Water  &  Cardinal ->Fixed ->Mutable then repeat
Now each house should have its own post written about it (*wink-wink* #futurepost lol) but I will broadly explain the topic and importance of the houses.
What do the Houses mean?
Well, the house is the manifestation of the planet/signs energy. This is saying that whatever sign is ruling that house, that area of your life will be expressed with that energy.
These are the house’s and what areas they control:
1st house (Ascendant/AC/rising): How you express yourself to the world, how you react to new and spontaneous things, your self-esteem, your identity, how you relate yourself and to the world around you.
2nd house: What you value, finances, home life (materialistically speaking), possessions, what kind of life/stability you strive for
3rd house: How you communicate, how you learn, school life, friends and peers, “short-distance” (Your familiar environment), how you think, how you express yourself verbally, relationship with siblings.
4th house (IC/ Imum Coeli): Your childhood, how you were raised, relationship with your mother, your history, instincts, privacy, the foundation of you.
5th house: Creativity, self-expression, what you're attracted to, relationship and view on children, romance, lighthearted emotions, drama, passions.
6th house: Your daily life, your physical health, your job, exercise and diet preference, services you provide, organization (or lack thereof), routine.
7th house (Descendant): What you dislike in the world, what opposes you, who you desire, you’re personal/individual relationships, partnerships, overall interactions with people. Open enemies (those you don't get along with publicly)
8th house: Transformation of your beliefs, your thoughts, your actions, and overall yourself in general. Birth, death, bonds, merged energies, mysteries of life and our purpose. Supernatural, occult, taboos, morals, shared finances. How you can better yourself. What your private about.
9th House: Higher mind, new experiences, travel, adventures, “long distance” (unfamiliar territory) expansion of the mind, foreign relations, cultural awakening, higher power, spirituality, belief system.
10th House (Midheaven): Career, life goals, your success, who you strive to become, public image, how you express yourself through work, responsibilities, achievements, boundaries, relationship with father/authority.
11th house: Friendships, your peers, technology, rebellion, volunteer work or humanitarian views, networking, social media, the type of friends you make.
12th house: Subconscious, the unknown, your past life, intuition, endings, suppression, loose ends, completing life's mission. Secret enemies (those who you believe couldn't hurt you but do), hidden agendas, imagination, mental health.
Interpreting the houses
There are multiple ways to interpret a house here are a few examples:
House and planet relationship: What planets are in that house (or if its an empty house) and how does it affect the energy? Ex. Mars in 1st house is going to be a more aggressive and an abrupt person than someone with Venus in 1st who will be amiable and pleasing outwardly. If no planet, this person will find they identify and relate to others through qualities of the sign that rules that house.
House and sign relationship: Gemini in 8th, will be more interested in thought-provoking subjects and diving deeper into the knowledge and understanding of the world that will often change their thoughts and opinions. Willing to work with others. Mentally strong. vs an Aries in 8th will be more impulsive with their transformations and will be stubborn on doing it themselves. Independent, they will believe they know how to handle finances and instantly know about a subject without experience.
House Rulers: This is more for advanced astrologers as it can get complicated or confusing; this is the ruler of the house that the same ruler's planet resides in. So if you have Capricorn in 1st but Saturn in 8th, you would say Ruler of 1st house in the 8th house. This shows and gives a realistic more outlook of the house's relationship with the native because it flows and connects itself to others. Despite Aries being the OG ruler of the first, if in your natal 1st house is Capricorn, that to you will be your first and since Saturn is ruled by Capricorn, whatever house that planet is in, will also carry Capricorn influence.
It is important to look at three views because it gives a more detailed picture of a personality.
How is the house system created?
You know how it’a little creepy when it asks for a birth time, well it's because that's how your personal house system will be set up :) Just like the planets move through the signs at different rates and the degree it’s at, in that moment. Same goes for your house system, but every minute counts because it cycles through a sign every 2 hours (that means it moves 1 degree every 4 minutes!!!) and by the end of 24 hours, it has gone through every sign. This is imperative to what determines your ascendant or rising sign as well as your chart as a whole.
Why else is it important?
This not only gives you the manifestation of energy in your life, but it also sets up your Angular houses which are vital to a personal portrait! Above you’ll notice the italics next to the houses, that is the Angular houses which help define who you are, this is Your Ascendant, Midheaven, IC, and Descendant sign. These are the major angles in a chart and are similar to major points but more personable! The angular house is the group of houses that you take action in and are associated with the Cardinal Mode.
Types of Houses:
Angular House: Ruled by Cardinal Signs; these are the houses that help define who you are, who you were, what challenges you, and who you become. Known as the action houses
Succedent House: Ruled by Fixed Signs; these are the houses in which you find what stabilizes you, what comforts you, what you take pride in, and what excites you. Known as the security houses.
Cadent Houses: Ruled by Mutable signs; these are the houses that show how you communicate, how you listen, how you grow, and how you overcome. Known as the learning houses.
Nitty Gritty:
Intercepted Signs in the House System:
When a house has a wide enough angle to it, it is possible for it to skip a sign! This sign does not have a cusp of a house and lives within the preceding sign( it will be the same for its opposite counterpart ex if Virgo is intercepted so is Pisces ) If you have planets within an intercepted sign and it is in the intercepted sign, fear not you will still feel the effects of the planet. However what intercepted signs/planets within a house does, is it suppresses that type of energy and therefore the energy of both the sign and planet will be weakened and will be a challenge for the native to overcome/harness in their lifetime.
Duplicated signs:
This is in result to an intercepted sign, when there is a sign that rules two houses, that means there is an overwhelmingly amount of energy within that sign and it distributes itself into two areas of the native's life or two houses. Instead of having a challenge in understanding or learning this energy, it will generally come naturally.
Example Chart: (lol this is an ex’s chart)
Tumblr media
There is so much more but this is the most important and basic info you'll need to understand the houses and its importance.
I personally believe the house system is the biggest piece (and aspects) in understanding others because only knowing the sign and planet won't help you find any answers that will be direct to that person, only vague and broad overviews.
I encourage you to play around with your chart and try to see where the energy in your life is manifested!
As always, feel free to reach out for any questions you have :)
*I apologize if you are on mobile, it formats this post in a weird way :/

@kaibacorpbros has sent: 12. Is the way your muse sees themselves similar to how others see them or is it (very) different, due to mental illness/keeping secrets/etc.? 20. What does your muse think of secrets? Do they keep many or a few and what is their motivation to keep something secret? Have they ever been hurt by a secret someone else kept from them? [For both!]
Character Development Questions [Accepting]
12. Is the way your muse sees themselves similar to how others see them or is it (very) different, due to mental illness/keeping secrets/etc.?
Tumblr media
// As a priest: Set was put through a very rough, lengthy and heavy indoctrination in order to become a priest and join the court. He was trained to have a very specific outlook and perception of himself, which falls in line with how the people of Egypt/city looked at them. Set also contributed- built a name/reputation for himself, something that would look fitting for the court’s executioner.
Things however are very different, when he became the pharaoh. I’ve talked about this many times in the past, so I’ll keep this short: He was never capable of seeing himself as a “God amongst men”, which is essential for the role he was placed in after the war. He never demonstrated it in a clear way, after all he had a reputation to keep- he couldn’t be seen as weak/lesser. It was only at the end of his life, when he was working on the tablet of memories - dedicating it to Atem that he confessed and talked about these thoughts that plagued him since the incident.
Tumblr media
// The only person in this world who will disagree with the general perception and the reputation Seto built for himself, is Mokuba. Kaiba worked very hard to build a reputation for himself, something that would live up to everything he was put through by Gozaburo and at the same time distance itself from his step-father.
He uses his reputation and the perception others have about himself, as an weapon. He is a master of playing with others expectations, he learned this from someone who mastered this tactic. He will live up to the majority of the perceptions, but at the same time don’t fully trust on everything you hear about him.
20. What does your muse think of secrets? Do they keep many or a few and what is their motivation to keep something secret? Have they ever been hurt by a secret someone else kept from them?
Tumblr media
// Everyone keeps secrets, nothing new or surprising about that. However, when he was a priest and pharaoh he had to be extremely nosy, and make sure no one that worked in the palace was keeping any secrets- for obvious safety reasons.
However, starting after the war against Zorc, Set was the only one who knew Atem’s name and he carried with it to his grave.
