When Shuuichi wakes up the morning before the end of the world to the sound of his alarm, it is with a wide array of burdensome emotions weighing down and clogging up his chest.

Pretty sincere confusion, at what he vividly recalls from last night’s conversation with Kokichi. Electric, pulsating anticipation at the prospect that he’s going to see Rantarou again. A very unusual-for-him level of anger directed at the god that’s been holding his brother hostage for over a week, and the even worse goddess hidden at the heart of it all. Simmering, ever-present anxiety that reminds him of the many, many ways things could go from wrong to bad to worst.

It’s…kind of a lot, to put it lightly.

i don't know how i feel about this. i think this game is going to need me to think on it for a few days/weeks before i render some Final Opinions.

right off the bat, though, i will say i liked the idea of the goodhearted protagonist fucking up really badly and fatally, so erasing that is like...eh. the anger of Kaede being unfairly executed < the sadness of Kaede's plan failing horribly. but that may be a Personal Thing really

Explanation for this:

Dangaronpa V3 is kinda meh to me so this is my au in which Rantaro and Kaede are the main protagonist and antagonist duo.

I also think the 3rd trial is a big waste of potential. They had such a cool idea in mind with the whole "Korekiyo confessed to one murder but not the other" but then in the end it's revealed he actually commited both and it's like.... ok??? You're telling me we could've had a trial with 2 murderers who didnt know about eachother's exsistance and that no matter what there would be a killed left among the survivors??? Anyways in this au I like to pitch the idea of Himiko secretly being the second killer who accidentally murdered Angie and although Korkiyo did kill Tenko his crime doesn't count as Himiko killed Angie before him.

There could've been fun loopholes I'm just saying 🙄🙄🙄

Also I think the dynamic between Rantaro and Kaede could've been fun to explore in a "Kaede wants to trust and believe her friends while Rantaro is aware they could betray them at any moment" kind of situation
