Joan

Character bio/premise: Joan (then Ioana) died in an earthquake in the 1400s, in what would one day be Romania, and somehow did not stay dead. The Old Guard (then made up of Andy, Joe, Nicky and Quynh) were there in the aftermath, trying to help, and because Joan met them before they could dream of each other, she doesn’t know they’re immortal like her, and they don’t know she’s a new immortal. Some 400 years later, Joan stumbles upon a newly immortal Booker and despite befriending each other for a brief time, once again they part ways without realizing what the other is.

After roughly 600 years of immortality, Joan is living a comfortable but lonely life, still unaware there are others like her. At least, until she dreams about Nile getting slashed through the throat. The dreams refuse to go away, and Joan manages to track down the young woman - and in the process, finds out not only is there another immortal like her, there’s a whole group of them, and all of them know each other. In an AU where Booker didn’t betray the team, most of her story is just her and the guard getting to know each other, trying to figure out how to make this new dynamic work, and Joan finding a place after centuries of not having anyone. Joan is aroace.

Character bio/premise: Based on the goddess from Greek mythology, Hestia is the eldest daughter and princess of Olympus, another alien civilization like Asgard. The eldest daughter, but not the ruler, Hestia has taken care of the kingdom in her own way - tending to the fires and protecting the home and family - ever since they overthrew their tyrannical and abusive father centuries ago and created a kingdom of peace and prosperity - with the exception of their rivalry with Asgard. In an attempt to avoid war between their kingdoms, Odin and Zeus arrange a marriage between Thor and Hestia. While both of them range from reluctant but willing to outright reluctant, they are married and Hestia comes to live on Asgard. She is quiet and some would say "meek" or "weak", and no one expects her to get along with the brash and bold Prince Thor. Surprisingly, her calm demeanor and hidden strength makes it easy to form a friendship with him.

While dealing with culture clashes and coming to understand her new home and her new family, Hestia and Thor become friends, and then (slowly for Hestia, very quickly for Thor) fall in love. They remain happily married for centuries - up until the events of Thor 1 take place, followed by the rest of the MCU, making their lives a whole lot more complicated. Hestia is asexual biromantic.

Marianne

Full name: Marianne Ouellet (maiden name/preferred name), Marianne Schulman (legal name)

Character bio/premise: Born in 1931 in Montreal, moving to the States when she was 19, a single mother to a happy 12-year-old, widow of five years, and owner of a local used bookstore for 12 years, Marianne lives a hectic but normal life. She keeps her store running, her son safe and happy, and is happy to "mom friend" the kids around the neighbourhood. It's a normal existence - up until Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr basically break into her store, tell her they know she has telekinesis, and ask her to save the world with them and other mutants like her.

While she initially refuses their offer, she later changes her mind, needing to keep her son safe. When she joins the other mutants, she finds herself joining a community she didn't know she needed, becoming the unofficial Team Mom of the group, and facing emotional issues she had pushed down for years. Marianne is bisexual.

Kris

Full name: Kristina Maria Stark

Character bio/premise: As the beloved daughter of Tony Stark and heiress to Stark Industries, Kris basically has everything she could ever want, and she loves it. Until she and her dad get kidnapped by terrorists and are trapped in a cave for three months. After returning home, forever changed by the experience, her dad wants to go out and make sure Stark Industry weapons are wiped from the planet, while Kris just wants to forget it ever happened and return to her normal life. It takes being terrorized by her honourary grandfather and her father creating a supersuit and becoming a public superhero to realize that their lives are never getting back to normal. It takes her father nearly dying less than a year later for Kris to take up the mantle as another superhero, pushing her life as far from normal as it gets. Kris is a lesbian.

Rose

Character bio/premise: 10,000 years ago, Rose - abandoned as a child, then abused and tormented by her Pai Zhuq master - chooses to join the evil Dai Shi, wanting revenge on humanity for the pain she’s suffered. She’s made into a double agent, spying on the humans for Dai Shi. It goes well, until the war is won by the Pai Zhuq and Dai Shi is sealed away. To keep her safe, Dai Shi turns Rose to stone, and she waits for 10,000 years before he returns and tasks her with being a double agent once more, this time spying on the power rangers who threaten his attempts to take over the world.

It’s supposed to be an easy mission. She sews discord in the group, avoids getting too close, and reports back to her Lord with information to destroy the rangers. But slowly, the safety and kindness of her fake life starts to feel more welcoming than the cruelty she had accepted before, and Rose suddenly finds herself at a crossroads - to choose revenge and a life she’s been told is the only one she deserves, or her new friends and a life she thinks she actually deserves.

Character bio/premise: Ryoko was a human woman once - about 10,000 years ago. Many others followed in her footsteps, and for thousands of years, they all ruled the world as a pantheon, with her as their ruler, the Queen of the Heavens. Flashfoward to present day, millennia later, and she’s the only god left in the world after she killed the rest of them. She wanders the world, alone as she has been for centuries now. At least, until she meets Ten, who wants to be a god and knows she’s the only one who can help him achieve his goal. Although she knows it didn’t end well last time, she finally agrees to help Ten, thinking that by helping them, she’ll be able to find a way to end her own immortality. The two of them set out on an adventure and despite her best efforts, she becomes too close to Ten, despite knowing she’s using them for her own selfish purpose.

Desperate to prove everyone wrong, they moved to the city to find work and support their family while also trying to find ways to achieve more, to learn and study their passion - history and legends of the world - and become more than what they are. Eventually, he crosses paths with The legendary icon of their world, the only living god - Ryoko, queen of the heavens. Knowing this is the only way they can prove everyone wrong, they convince her to show them how to achieve godhood, and to their surprise, she agrees. They set out on a grand journey together, and despite all the terrifying legends of her and her own personality, Ten finds himself growing closer to the woman, unaware of the secrets she’s hiding from him. Cara

Character bio/premise: Raised by HYDRA to be an assassin, Cara never knew anything but abuse and cruelty, except for the love of her twin, Quinn. That all ended when she realized just how fucked up HYDRA was and made plans to run away with Quinn. Those plans came to an end when SHIELD attacked their HYDRA facilities and Quinn died in the attack. Grieving, but ready to leave HYDRA behind, Cara agrees to join SHIELD (not knowing HYDRA and SHIELD are one and the same) and become an agent for them after being given a second chance by Clint Barton, as well as Natasha Romanoff, Nick Fury, and Maria Ross (who would eventually become her best friend). Years go by and she’s definitely one of their best agents, although she still has a lot of unprocessed trauma and anger. Things get a little better when she finds a family with the Avengers. Things get a lot better when she meets Sam Wilson, whose good heart and entire character is a bright spot in her stormy life. Cara is bisexual.

Valerie

Full name: Valerie Jenkins

After years of not having anyone, she’s finally found herself a space space and a family - a family that gets even bigger when the Maximoff twins show up and she finds herself growing closer to Pietro.

My Marvel headcanons that definitely don’t align with canon, but fiction is pretty subjective so we ignore it:

Steve swears like a sailor. You can’t tell me a scrappy kid from the lower parts of Brooklyn who lived during the Great Depression didn’t have a foul mouth.

Bucky’s dad was absent growing up and as the oldest in his family he became the “man of the house”. He grew up making sure his siblings always has clothes and food on the table. It’s why he’s protective of Steve even in his 6 foot bodybuilder form.

Peter Parker is a ftm trans man. It’s the reason he’s so defensive of his voice/age/height because he feels like he’s being clocked whenever it’s pointed out. Also spider-MAN?? It’s in the name.

Wanda is the absolute worst case of plant mom you’ve ever witnessed. Her house is just green.

Loki and Thor are both the human equivalent of transgender, but it’s because they literally lie outside the human idea of gender. They will respond to any pronouns or labels given to them. They? That’s cool. She? Why not. He? Acceptable. Kitten? Strange, but sure.

Thor actually has a decent grasp on human customs he just does it for shits and giggles.

Loki has a love affair with Earth’s coffee. They can be seen stepping into a Starbucks with a puffy green scarf at all hours of the day.

Carol Danvers grew up as a human women but it never felt quite right. They don’t have a label, but that still works for them.

Natasha is a sexually repulsed asexual aromantic. Bruce is a demi-sexual biromantic. It’s why their queer plantonic relationship works so well. They are also not monogamous, but not very interested in other people because they’re each other’s safety net.

Bucky is the biggest supporter of bodily autonomy you’ve ever seen. He broke the internet the first time he showed up to a rally with a awkward Steve in tow.

Steve doesn’t really know about these newfangled terms like “transgender” and “bisexual” but he signed up to protect the American people regardless of who they are or who they like. Also, if the Bucky who quietly whispered how he thought fellas were kinda of pretty in the dark of night finally felt accepted then it was good in his book.

MJ is a trans woman who no one knew was trans until she stood on top of a table during freshman year and yelled at Flash for being transphobic. Peter fell head over ass that day.

Tony did in fact make Peter’s internship legally real and just forgot to tell him. Peter was also the inspiration for the high school internship program he launched during the five-year blip.

Tony and May fight over who can put the newest Peter achievement on whose fridge. The first time Peter noticed his report card on Mr. Stark’s fridge he cried.

Although he doesn’t use it much T’Challa has a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology with a minor in Marine Biology.

Peter ends up getting a double degree in Molecular Engineering and Robotics. He ends up using them to create breakthroughs in the medical field.

Nick Fury is a common sight at the Barton’s family Christmas. He wasn’t even invited to be completely honest, he just showed up one year and never stopped.

Harley Keener was fostered by the Starks after his family disappeared during the Blip.

Yelena randomly shows up at the Bartons with gifts for the kids out of remembrance for Natasha. The first time it was pouring and Clint just sighed and told Laura to get some towels out of the closet.

The ladies get together for a bi-yearly wine and dine.

Got sick again, read a Harry Potter fanfic that had been in my read later forever while on decongestants, and now I'm writing a fixit starring Snape.

The man was all ready to walk into the afterlife and take whatever he had coming, but an upset Harry Potter meets him in the fog limbo train station between life and death. Harry's upset with Dumbledore playing with several generations of people like it's his personal dollhouse instead of fixing anything, says Severus deserved better, and yeets his brain into his 16 year old body for a redo.

More under the cut, because I wrote an epic legnth trans-positive Loki story and JKR is a TERF. The characters live in my head rent-free due to a decade of obsession, and at least Voldemort never intentionally misgendered anybody.

Reluctant savior vibe. Decides the arms race he and the Maurauders had made a lot of useful stuff he could patent so he isn't so desperate for money that he must serve the Dark Lord. He figured out he was ace biromantic a while ago. Despite still caring for Lilly she was a bad friend to him, and his possessive behavior made him a bad friend to her, and it was never going to work. Ends up with Regulus, Horcrux hunting with a group of people that really didn't want to serve a madman but would never go to Dumbledore due to the old man's prejudice.

Voldemort is insane because that's what horcruxes do when you make more than one, and making the Locket in '79 is what cracked him for good. He used to have some fair points and possibly workable policy ideas, but it's devolving into nothing more than calls to violence and a desire to burn the government to the ground.

(Oh hi Mitch McConnell, didn't see your dry husk come in. Sorry, I don't have any appropriate refreshments for an undead turtle. No, you aren't in this story, but I can see how you would think so.)

no one knows riley is the famed PI unless they're enlisting her help , to which they sign a nda . if the nda is broken or threatened to be broken riley dredges up all the secrets the wish to remain hidden in order to ensure her anonymity .

the moniker she operates under is 'the shadow' , fitting considering her line of work . most assume that she is a man seeing as she poses as her own secretary upon in person clients visiting the office .

her current obsession is the case of her parents murder . since it's currently unsolved she has beef with the local police department , and , well , any government entity in general .

definitely is a heavy drinker , prefers whatever's easily accessible , not too fussy . if she has a choice it's whiskey or beer . she smokes occasionally , convinced doing so helps her find a break in a job .

will definitely be outspoken about her dislike for things , whether it's luxury , religion , fashion trends etc .

has a brash way of announcing things , sometimes lacks tact that is required . also uses the word cunt frequently which she enjoys watching older american's cringe at .

Born of a higher class family and the eldest of their set of triplets, kasper lived a comfortable life... well.. not at first. You see, he was originally known as kassidy. The eldest daughter of the newfound rich who found their calling inside the inner hollywood circles as part of the jewelry, lingerie and overall fashion business around.

The triplets always lived a much more spoiled life than most. Getting all the toys, the clothing, private schooling to ensure their futures were set... however, kasper never did find that comfort in any of the sort once he turned the age of fifteen. He was used as different forms of modeling for his parents work, and it only became worse as time progressed. He stole and borrowed his brother's clothing, looked into his different potential support systems, and knew to keep it as hidden as he could whether it be binders or even the wrapping of his chest to help cope with the faint waves of dysphoria he held.

He became rebellious. His parents despised the behavior and knew to try to pry, but luckily his siblings managed to keep their minds distracted from his true issues at hand when it came to the concept of kasper finally... well.. becoming kasper. He found himself diving into things he didn't know, hiding away money as if his parents would dare to notice the spare change of thousands escaping their accounts and into a private one of his own once he turned eighteen.

The final time he avoided his parents was the last time he truly held a source of contact with them. They wanted him to appear for a rather .. exposing shoot regarding a new line of clothing. Which he refused. At first it was simple no's, turning into more harsh attitudes, till it finally became an explosive argument of kasper truly explaining who he was. Of course it was a screaming match and he heard words no child would ever wish to hear from his parents, and as soon as he walked out the studio? He made sure he wouldn't hear it again.

NEW START.

He would end up packed up and filling the back of his car before simply driving off for miles.. however, it was a rather harsh storm and he wasn't having the best state with his emotions. No one fully could comprehend what happened when his car swerved and soon enough rolled over a gaurd rail into the sea below. The area being known to be a death valley not many are able to be recovered from due to how harsh the currents were and the constant shifting of the tides. Most would be happy to say that truly was the end of his harsh start... wasn't entirely true.

Laslow appeared fine in the upper edges of california with the smallest sense of annoyance when it came to the constant phone calls from his two siblings who he had to pretend to reassure on his current condition. The access of funds he never knew he could reach was truly a time of pure joy for kasper. He continued his small fun of painting, humming along as his clothes began being stained with different shades, the smell of different elixirs being formed... and the casual copy of identical brush stroke counts soon making his bank account and fun fly higher than ever before. He found fun in the small bits of assignments he was able to keep close, but once his jobs began to decline.. so did his sanity.

He dived deep into the fashion scene in order to keep his hands busy, going through a few years of college in order to progress his stances further. He became rather successful as he experimented with his style alongside the newfound rememberance of his jewlery making. At first it began as a small hobby, but it soon progressed into the full points of a career once he saw the amount of orders he began to recieve. He had stayed in california the entire time, but soon felt the need to let himself loose and began his progression into moving to Alaska.

Now, why would a boy who grew up in the heat want to be in the bitter cold? Purely, if be truthful, was to begin a new start with a new name and his truest identity. Plus he also craved the comfort of the silence and nature around him, and it showed when he arrived and found himself a condo for himself with the perfect comfort of the cold, but held the continous stances of luxury in the middle of nature.

His assignments began once more, but it wasn't hard to realize it became scarce. At first it was once every three months, to once every six.. to now none after two years.

His time in town did offer him a chance to keep the sanity going, especially with the concept of the job of being a receptionist for a casino. He loved the idea of seeing people so happy winning and begging for money to continue to play. The idea of being able to tell someone no if they get too much, the potential flings he got in order to slip some a little bonus at the beginning.

He has thrived in town for almost four years since he moved over. His business began to flourish even more and he found himself in the best place: On his porch with a cat in his lap and a bottle of wine practically being drank like water.
