Arvin wasn’t one to offer help to people, much less a stranger, but you had caught his eye. He stood by his car after filling his tank with gas and watched you stare at the gas pumps with a puzzled look on your face. He had seen you pull into the gas station with such confidence, but that was all gone now that you had to pick the right pump to put in your car. Arvin debated driving away and letting you figure it out by yourself since after all, he didn’t even know you. But after watching you hesitantly reaching for the diesel for the third time, he decided to speak up.
“Need help miss?” He asked as he approached you. You stiffened up at the sound of his voice and took an instinctive step away from him.
“No. I’m fine, thanks.” You replied without looking at him.
“You sure about that?” Arvin asked as he watched you hesitantly pick up the diesel pump.
“Said I don’t need any help from the likes of you, all right?” You said again. “Just leave me alone and go on your way.”
“Sorry miss. Didn’t mean to trouble you. Just noticed you was putting diesel in your car, is all.” Arvin said and raised his hands in defense.
“Diesel?” You paused and looked down at the pump in your hands.
“Yeah, darling. That right there is diesel.”
“Psh. I knew that. I like diesel.” You lied and brought the pump over to your car.
“Oh, my bad. Didn’t know that. Can I ask if you also like your car blowing up?” Arvin asked sarcastically.
“Excuse me?”
“Diesel will clog your fuel system and keep the car from startin. If you push the gas pedal too much, whole car will burst in flames. Seen it happen right in front of me once. The guy barely made it out alive.”
“Oh.” You froze and looked down at the pump in your hands.
“Could help you out, if you like.” He offered again.
“No thank you. I said I was fine.” You repeated, in a kinder tone this time. Arvin nodded and took a step back as he watched you put the diesel pump back. You looked between the other two pumps for a minute before hesitantly grabbing the one in the middle.
“Um….” You hesitatingly looked to Arvin to see if you were about to make another fatal mistake. He shook his head and held up one finger to let you know you needed pump number one. You gave him a tight smile before putting back the pump in your hand and picking up the first one. You put the pump in your car and just stood there until Arvin put his hand over yours to squeeze the pump. You felt the gas flow out and looked at Arvin with an embarrassed smile.
“Thanks.” You said quietly.
“No problem, doll.” He chuckled and felt his face flush from how close you were.
“Sorry I was short with you before. I have a hard time trusting men sometimes.” You admitted without looking into his eyes.
“Yeah? Seems we have that in common.”
“I just didn’t know if you were gonna fill my car up and then try to get me to repay you or something.”
“Repay me?”
“You know. With a kiss or something.”
“Darling, I’m no gentlemen, but I’m no villain either. I’d never try and get you to do something you didn’t want to do. Just saw a pretty lady struggling and wanted to offer my help. That’s all.” Arvin assured you, and you felt yourself believing him.
“Oh. Well thats very nice of you. Sorry I was rude.”
“No need to be sorry. Got a sister back home and I hope she’s half as vigilant as you are. Can’t trust nobody in this town. Especially not the men.” Arvin said and looked around the gas station.
“Don’t I know it.” You sighed. Arvin noticed the sadness in your voice and gave you a long look. He hadn’t seen you around before, which was strange since he thought he knew everyone in town. You were awfully pretty and the fact that you were a little mean to him made him like you even more.
“My names Arvin, by the way.” He told you.
“Y/n.” You smiled warmly at him.
“Nice to meet you, Y/n.” He returned the smile.
“You too, Arvin. Thanks again for the lesson.” You replied. You finished pumping the gas in your car and watched as Arvin returned the pump so you would know what to do next time.
“I’m really smart, by the way.” You said after a beat of silence.
“Huh?” He laughed in surprise.
“I’m really smart. I’m a school teacher down by the church. I went to college too. And I was the top of my class.” You told him, adding something every time you thought of a different example of your intelligence.
“Is that so?” Arvin asked, still confused what point you were making.
“I’m just telling you this so you don’t think I’m some dumb damsel in distress. I’m usually very smart but my daddy used to fill my car for me and never taught me how. He said it wasn’t a lady’s job to do it.”
“Well where’s your daddy now? Cause somebody needs to stop you from blowing yourself up.” Arvin chuckled.
“He don’t speak to me no more.” You said quietly, making Arvin feel guilty for poking fun at you.
“Oh. Sorry to hear that.” He said sincerely.
“It’s fine. I know what to do now thanks to you.“
“It was no trouble, darling. And next time, use this pump. Stay away from the diesel.” Arvin said and tapped the correct pump.
“I will. Thank you.” You smiled at him before looking over his shoulder. Arvin watched the way your smile dropped and the color drained from your face.
“Oh shoot.” You whispered.
“What’s wrong? Look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Arvin frowned and looked over his shoulder to try to find what you were looking at.
“My ex boyfriends just pulled up.” You gulped and pointed. Arvin immediately felt curious to see what kind of guy you used to date to see if he had a chance with you. When he saw a man in a red and white pinstripe shirt and white pants coming out of a flashy car, he cracked an amused smile.
“That candy ass used to be your boyfriend?” Arvin couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hush. He’ll hear you.” You whispered desperately and tugged on Arvins shirt to get him to stand in front of you.
“How come he’s dressed like a candy cane?” Arvin genuinely asked as he used his body to block you from your ex boyfriends view.
“I mean it, Arvin. Hush up.” You whispered harshly.
“Whats got you so wound up, baby doll? Did he take the breakup hard or something?”
“Truth is, he used to beat up on me.” You admitted. “It took all the strength I had to leave him. If he sees me right now, I’m scared of what he might do to get me back.”
“He beat on you?” Arvin looked over his shoulder again and felt his hands ball into fists. He found your unwillingness to be seen funny before, but was furious now. He looked at your ex with a clenched jaw and took a protective step in front of you.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be telling all this to a stranger.” You apologized, making Arvin look at you like you were crazy. He put his hands on your shoulders and rubbed up and down to try and calm you down.
“No, no it’s okay, darling. I don’t mind the story. Just mind the characters.” Arvin assured you before giving your ex another angry look. He didn’t want to lose his temper in front of you, but the thought of this pretentious guy beating up a school teacher was making his blood boil. He could feel his face getting hotter the longer he looked at your ex and the urge to beat him up got stronger.
“I know this is a little crazy to ask, but would you mind…” You started to ask but trailed off.
“Mind what?”
“Nothing. Forget it. Never mind.” You shook your head.
“Just ask me, darling. Worst I’ll say is no.”
“Would you mind doing something to make him think we’re together? Like kissing me or something?” You whispered through an embarrassed smile.
“Oh, so now you do want me to kiss you? I thought you were mean to me because you didn’t want me to try and kiss you.” Arvin smiled teasingly. He knew the gravity of the situation and was trying to calm you down a little so you wouldn’t be freaked out.
“I know what I said before.” You rolled your eyes. “But this is important. If he thinks I got a boyfriend, he’ll leave me alone.”
“I see. And you want me to pretend to be your boyfriend?”
“Just until he’s gone.”
“I think I can manage that.” Arvin shrugged before pulling you into a kiss. He slipped and arm around your waist and pressed you against your car to kiss you, taking your breath away in the process. You didn’t feel time moving as you kissed him but did feel the fear leaving your body. After spending the last eight months thinking all love ever did was break and burn and end, you felt it begin again. When you pulled away, you looked into Arvins eyes, no longer feeling like he was a stranger.
“Well I’ll be. Didn’t think I’d be seeing you ever again, toots. What are you doing here?” Your ex asked, making you and Arvin jump in surprise. You’d been so engrossed in each other that you hadn’t heard him walk up. Arvin could feel you shaking so he tightened his grip on your waist and shifted his body weight forward in a threatening way.
“What are we doing here? At the gas station? Take a fat fucking guess, dip shit. We’re putting gas in her car.” Arvin scoffed and looked at your ex like it was ridiculous to ask. You let out a shocked laugh and turned your face to the side to try and hide it. Your ex noticed the way Arvins arm was around you and his eyes darkened.
“I’m sorry, who the hell is this?” He asked you, the anger in his voice giving you flashbacks to worse times.
“Arvin Russel. Y/n’s boyfriend. And you are?” Arvin asked and held out a hand. You could tell this bothered your ex to hear you had a new boyfriend and felt your power come back to you. His face turned white as he looked at Arvin in shock. You tightened your grip on Arvin and looked up at him with a loving smile to really sell your story.
“Chuck Greenwood.” Chuck said and hesitantly shook Arvins hand. Arvin made sure to squeeze Chucks hand hard enough to make it hurt as he shook it.
“I didn’t realize you had a boyfriend.” Chuck said to you as he pulled his hand away from Arvin.
“Well I do.” You shrugged and leaned in Arvin. Chucks eyes brewed with jealousy as he watched the two of you.
“I guess I would’ve known that if you ever answered my calls. Must be too busy moving on. Which you did pretty fast, one might say. Didn’t realize you were such a quick girl.” Chuck said in a condescending tone.
“Fuck you, Chuck.” You scoffed, taking everyone by surprise.
“What did you just say to me?” Chuck raised his voice.
“Believe she said fuck you, Chuck.” Arvin repeated with a shrug.
“Yeah. I did. I don’t answer your calls cause I don’t want to hear your nasty, agitating voice no more. And I moved on fast because I knew the entire time that I was with you that I wanted something better for myself. So as soon as I got away from you, I went and found better. And you don’t get to be mad about that.” You stated. You weren’t shaking anymore but Arvin still kept his arm securely around your waist.
“Who do you think you’re talking to?” Chuck growled and stepped up to you.
“You.” You said and shoved him back. Chuck stumbled back in surprise before clenching his fist. Arvin got ready to fight, but you were one step ahead of him. You grabbed the diesel pump and aimed it at Chuck like it was a gun. Chuck was immediately disarmed and held up his hands.
“You don’t scare me no more. Especially not when you’re dressed like a candy cane.” You said in a low voice. Arvin smiled proudly that you used his insult and leaned against your car to watch you.
“Now get lost before I spray you.” You added and held the pump up higher. Chuck ran away from you, tripping over his own feet before getting into his car to drive away.
“Where did that come from?” Arvin laughed in surprise once you were alone again.
“I have no idea. But it felt really good.” You smiled in excitement as you put the pump back.
“I bet it did. I’m proud of you, darlin. I hope you’re proud of yourself too.” Arvin smiled fondly at you.
“You know, I am. Thanks for your help, Arvin. I couldn’t have done that without you.”
“You’re very welcome, miss. But I think you could’ve gotten along without me just fine. What’s the story with him anyway?”
“He works at the mechanic shop my daddy owns. I don’t have any brothers so Chuck was like a son to him. Was even gonna pass down the family business to him. When I finally told my parents how he’d been treating me…”
“They took his side?” Arvin asked, hoping the answer was no. Instead, you gave him a sad smile and nodded your head.
“My parents said all men were like that. Told me to suck it up and marry him anyway so that we’d have someone to give the family business to once my daddy was gone.”
“I’m sorry, darling. That’s no fair. No fair at all.”
“I know. And that wasn’t even the end of it. When I told my daddy I broke up with Chuck, he told me he never wanted to see me again. Haven’t spoken to him since.” You said with a sad shrug. Arvin frowned and felt the urge to pull you into a hug and tell you everything would be okay. Since you were still pretty much strangers, he just put a hand on your shoulder and gave it a squeeze.
“My daddy wasn’t a good man either. I know it hurts.” He said in a soft tone. You looked into Arvins eyes and could tell this was not an emotion he was used to exhibiting. You gave him an appreciative smile and put your hand over his.
“Something else we have in common then.” You smiled coyly.
“Maybe we should go out sometime. You know, see what else we have in common.” Arvin suggested as a blush painted his cheeks. You noticed this and felt your heart flutter in your chest. For the first time in a long time, you trusted someone new. You took a pen out of your pocketbook before taking Arvins hand and writing your number on his wrist.
“This is my number. I promise I’ll pick up.”
“I promise I’ll call.” He grinned as he read over the number.
“I should really get going. But it was very nice to meet you, Arvin.” You smiled warmly at him and unlocked your car. Arvin opened the door for you so that you could get in, convincing you further that giving him a chance was the right thing to do.
“Was nice to meet you too, doll.” Arvin smirked as he shut your car door for you. You gave him a wave and started your car before pulling away.
“Wait a minute.” Arvin called out and jogged after your car. You stopped the car and rolled down your window to look at him.
“Aren’t you gonna kiss your boyfriend goodbye?” He smiled coyly as he leaned down to your window. You playfully rolled your eyes at him before leaning out the window to kiss him. You knew it was crazy to be kissing a man you just met, even for the second time, but it felt right.
“Goodbye. I mean it this time.” You laughed and pulled away.
When you got home that night, your phone rang before you even had a chance to set your bag down. Your heart skipped a beat as you went over to answer it.
“Hello?” You said into the phone, hoping to hear Arvins voice again.
“Hey.” Arvin replied. “So am I gonna have to wait until the next time you need gas to see you or are you free tomorrow night?”

“Momma’s taking me to get my hair done again tomorrow.” Betty bragged, earning ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhh’ from the small group of girls that sat with her, all except you. You were hardly paying attention to the bratty girl who you hardly considered a close friend of yours. You hung out with the clique at school, participated in most of the conversations, but you weren’t close enough with any of them to see them anywhere else besides during school. In fact, there were many times when you would sit or walk with them, but not be entirely there, this being one of them as you glanced at the boy across the lunch yard from you.
Arvin Russell, to many a quiet boy who made no difference in the course of their life, but to you, he was everything. You two were certainly a pair, nothing official in the eyes of others, but together you shared a connection so strong, you couldn’t imagine any sort of realistic future without him. You kept your relationship on the down low, preferring to meet up in private and only steal quick glances in public when others were around, especially your small girl crew. Even Arvin’s sister Lenora had no idea about you two, though she had her suspicions Arvin was with someone while he was out all evening doing what he played off as ‘studying’ or ‘partner work.’
Your secrecy wasn’t that you were ashamed of him, the complete opposite actually. The girls you hung around were considered quite popular in your small town high school, all stupid rich with the finest clothes and nothing, but the best cuisine for lunch (how they got such fancy food in a rural town was beyond you). From past drama, you also knew them to have a nasty habit of stealing one another’s partners, especially Betty who claimed she was better off alone, but had a different fling every month that she always ended up dumping. Though you weren’t completely sure, you knew that the news of your relationship with Arvin would put you both at risk of breaking up due to pressure and the chance for him to score someone better off than you, financially. Your insecurities had come up in conversation before with the boy you loved so dearly, but even after he had assured you that he would never do such a thing, you took no chances. Arvin was yours and you were forever his.
Your heart fluttered as you saw Arvin turn his head, meeting your stare as he grinned and winked at you. You blushed, hiding your smile by covering your mouth with your hand and subtly waving for him to turn back around in an attempt to get your head back into the conversation. You wouldn’t have succeeded if it weren’t for Ivy, another girl in the group who was seated next to you.
“Whatcha looking at y/n?”
You turned to her, eyes wide as you quickly regained composure and shrugged it off.
“Oh you know me! Always gawking off.” you awkwardly laughed, hoping to play it off. To your dismay, all the girls turned to look where you had been staring, seeing the back of Arvin’s hat covered head as he  obeyed your command to turn away, hiding his own grin.
“Hey, isn’t he that Russell boy?” one of the other girls asked, pointing him out. Your stomach dropped as conversation erupted around the boy who had your heart, something you definitely did not mean to happen.
“I hear he’s fucking his sister.”
“Oh don’t be silly Majorie! That boy couldn’t fuck a sock of he tried! He’s a virgin.”
“I don’t know about that. I’m betting you he has a whole six pack hidden under all that denim. Just look at those thighs!”
“You’re right. I bet he fucks better than half the actors in those rom-coms they keep coming out with.”
“None of those people are actually fucking, you idiot. That’s why it’s called acting.”
“Oh right, acting.”
You had heard enough. As if listening to them insult your beloved wasn’t enough to make you rage, the remarks they made about his body almost caused you to erupt. They were no better than the boys who harassed you all, sexualizing him in such a way, but you said nothing as you dusted off your skirt and packed up the rest of your lunch to leave. Betty, the unofficial ring leader, noticed as she perked up.
“Where ya going y/n?”
You smiled at her, hoping to not give away your anger.
“I just need to visit the ladies room before next period. I’ll see y’all later.”
“Do you want someone to go with you?” she offered, likely to send someone else instead of going herself. You shook your head. No way were you taking one of them with you.
“I’m alright thanks. Y’all can stay here and keep chatting, I don’t mind.”
Betty eyed you suspiciously, wondering what exactly you were hiding, but she didn’t voice her suspicions as she waved you off.
“Ok then, see ya.”
You walked back into the building and to your locker, spinning the lock dial to unlock it so you could put your lunch away and grab your books. As you opened the door, a folded piece of blue-lined paper fell from one of the aeration holes, fluttering down as it traveled to the floor, light as a feather. Once your hands were emptied, you bent over to pick it up and unfolded it. There were words written upon it, scribbled out in familiar handwriting that had you smiling at as you read through it.
Movie tonight? -A
You held it against your chest, closest to your heart as butterflies flew through your gut. You felt like flying right out of your shoes. As if it couldn’t get better, a voice sounded from behind you, low and slightly southern accented as the very person who wrote the note called out.
“So, what do ya say?” Arvin asked.
You turned around to find him stalking closer, noticing his hat slightly askew on his head as he neared you.
“I don’t know, that depends. Will there be … popcorn?” You asked, popping the p in a sultry tone and pausing for effect as you crossed your arms.
“Sure will.” he affirmed.
“And what about … soda?”
He leaned against the locker next to yours,  inches away as he smirked at you.
“All different kinds.”
You leaned against your open locker door, facing him as you wore your own smirk. You reached out to fix his hat, turning it so that it lay straight in his head as it should.
“But will there be … candy?”
He chuckled, reaching for the hand that you had used to fix his hat and entwining his fingers with yours.
“Why ya tryna be difficult darling? Of course there’d be candy.”
You giggled as he placed a chaste kiss on the back of your hand.
“We’ll in the case, I don’t see why I shouldn’t go.” you agreed, knowing both of you were very well aware that your answer would be yes all along. Arvin beamed at you.
“Great. I’ll pick ya up at 8:00 then and we’ll head over to the drive-in.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
Arvin leaned in, looking into your eyes and down at your lips. You didn’t pull away as he planted a kiss on them, pulling away for a second before going back in to kiss you again, really kiss you as his lips met yours. You almost gave in, never having gotten over the indescribable feeling of kissing him, but you knew better than to let him do that in public. You pulled away and scrunched your eyebrows in disapproval, a habit you had that Arvin loved. He thought you were extremely cute.
“Arvin,” you scolded. “Not in public. You know that.”
He shrugged, sliding a hand up to your face to cup your cheek, caressing it with his thumb.
“I’m sorry darling. Couldn’t help myself. You’re just so goddamn gorgeous.”
You blushed, turning to look at the floor and you pulled from his grasp and turned to walk the other way, the direction of your next class. You hoped he hadn’t seen your cheeks redden, but you knew he had.
“Later.” you called back to him, turning to smile at him as he smirked at you.
“Later then. I’ll pick you up tonight.”
“Don’t be late.” you teased, in a warning tone.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.”
He closed your locker door for you, turning the opposite directions to head to his own class.
As promised, Arvin picked you up on time, even a few minutes early to give you plenty of time to pick out your snacks. You held his hand the whole way there, his thumb tracing soothing circles on the back of your hand, the car ride silent save for the light radio playing. You didn’t talk, but you were both perfectly happy. Comfortable in each other’s presence and thankful for one another.
Arvin found a nice parking spot near the back of the drive-in, making sure it was still in view of the movie screen and yet out of the way of the projector to avoid being illuminated by it.
After the sun had set and the cool darkness of the new night blew in, the movie began playing and you two watched the beginning. As the night went on, you had eaten through a third of your popcorn and drank most of your soda as Arvin snacked on a some candy, but your snacks were tossed aside halfway through the film as you two got less involved in the movie and more involved in each other, caught up in a heated kiss. You couldn’t exactly recall how it started, who initiated it, any of the details really. All you knew was that he smelled like the cologne you knew him to wear since the day you two met and he tasted like red vines.
Your arms were wrapped around his neck, holding you closer to him as he had his own around your waist, supporting you so you could do just that. You felt sparks as your lips moved against one another, slow turning to passionate in mere moments. You felt his tongue against your lower lip, seeking entrance which you denied playfully, grinning against his mouth. Arvin moved one of his hands down and lightly pinched your bum, causing you to gasp in surprise and giving him the opportunity to explore your mouth as he wished. You gave in, pulling on the roots of his hair as payback while simultaneously never wanting the moment to end as you moved your tongue in sync with his. There were no leaders, no one followed the other. It was a bond, simple as that, a bond that you shared and you personally never wanted to break.
As the movie continued on, you found yourself moving more and more onto Arvin’s lap until you were straddling him, your hands tangled in his hair as he fondled with your bum, feeling you all over, anywhere he could reach. Your lungs burned as they longed for air, your breathing heavy as you and Arvin’s lips finally left each other’s. You looked at him through your lashes, you head tilted down as you sat a little higher above him than you would at your usual height, his lap giving you a small boost. He eyed you in front of him, breathing heavily as his left hand moved up your body to cup your face, his thumb tugging at your now puffy and red bottom lip. He leaned in closer, your noses touching as he mumbled against your lips.
“You’re beautiful, you know that?”
You chuckled, nuzzling your nose against his. It was now that heat would have flushed out your cheeks, but they were already rosy from kissing him.
“No more sweet talk, Russell. Kiss me again.”
“I only said one thing.”
“Mmm, I know, but it was too much.”
You pecked his lips, ready for it to get as intense as it was again until Arvin smirked and pulled away, fake glaring at you after you rejected his compliment. You were the one who cupped his chin this time, smiling at him.
“Hey. You know I’m just joking.”
You leaned into him, resting your forehead against his as he helped adjust you so that you sat comfortably against him, his arms wrapping back around you.
“I love you Arvin Russell.” you confessed.
It wasn’t the first time, you had already said your firsts months ago, but the effect you had on him, especially when you said those words, it never wore off. It was the same for him. Those three little words and he would have you melting, effortlessly, every damn time. Like a weakness, they got you at your most vulnerable. He pecked your lips again, this time with a little more force, his lips lingering on yours for a little longer. He picked up his head to break it, only for a second as he told you sincerely, “I love you, y/n y/l/n.” and before you knew it, his lips were back on your and you started making out again, intertwined and not to be unwound until at least the end of the movie.
School the next day felt long, nothing out of the norm, but you didn’t like it regardless. Not when you could be away from it all in the passenger's side of Arvin’s car as he drove you two to your special picnic spot. But alas, you were stuck with your cliché girl clique, dreaming of a weekend picnic. You had to remember to tell Arvin.
After your morning classes, you walked with one of the girls, Ivy, to your usual lunch spot when you noticed the other girls weren’t sitting down at your table like they normally would be. Instead you were horrified to see them all gathered around a table that was the usual lunch spot of a certain someone. You were stunned as Ivy dragged you towards them, listening as you heard them giggle and flirt with your boyfriend. There was no way they could have known, no way they found out about him so easily.
“I love that hat on you, Arvin.”
“Whatcha eating for lunch Arvin? How’s the taste?”
“Been working loads, Arvin? Doing some heavy lifting? I can tell.”
As you neared you noticed Betty sipping on what appeared to be a drive-in bag of gummy peach rings, eyeing you with a conniving look. That’s when it hit you. They must have seen you together at the drive in, they had to. One little mistake and now the wolves were after your love.
To your surprise, as you joined the crowd, the girls welcomed you with giggles.
“Lovely to see you y/n.”
“Is your lunch as good as your dinner from last night, y/n?”
“Come say hi to Arvin y/n! I’m sure you two know each other.”
You were red in the face, angry as you eyed Arvin who looked at you worriedly and glared at the girls.
“Ladies, I think we should give poor Arvin some space.” you suggested, hoping they’d take the hint and scram. Betty shook her head and placed her candy down on the lunch table.
“But we’ve only just started talking to him. I haven’t even gotten a chance to show him my new cut.”
She crossed a line as she bent down, her elbows squeezing her chest together to make her cleavage more obvious as she gave Arvin a seductive look. Arvin shifted in his seat, uncomfortably.
“So Arvin, how ya like my new hair? I just got it done this morning, missed first period. Go on, you can touch it if you’d like.”
You couldn’t believe it as your eyes watered, close to tears as you almost cried. But luckily, Arvin noted the lack of respect of boundaries as he stood and rolled his eyes. He made his way through the crowd of girls, scoffing as he reached for you and pulled you to him by your shoulder.
“Now, I’ve been tryna be nice and listen to y’all, but I can’t take another word. If this is how you react when you find out a girl that’s supposed to be your friend has a boyfriend, then I don’t want her to be friends with y’all no more. I’ve had it! Ya hear?!” The girls backed away, from you and Arvin as he moved his hand to grip your waist, a subtle message that he was here for you. They all nodded.
“Good. Now me an’ my girl are gonna go enjoy our lunch without all this nonsense. I don’t want to see any of y’all come near her again.” he started to walk off with you, the girls still shocked, but before you left, he turned back to one of the girls.
“And Betty, you best take care of that rat's nest on your head cuz it ain’t doing no one any favors.”
Betty looked appalled as you turned away from her and laughed with your lover, waiting until you were far enough away from the crowd to thank him at what was your new lunch spot.
You should never have doubted him, his loyalty to you. He’d never leave you for money, he’d never leave you for anything. Girls with centuries of financial stability had offered them up to him in your very presence and he never questioned being with you for a second. There was no hesitation as he rejected them. You were his soulmate, his forever partner, his best friend and all you could think as you stared at him is that you couldn’t have asked for a better one to call yours.
“Thanks baby. I think they needed that.” you expressed your gratitude, reaching for Arvin’s hand. He took yours in his and squeezed it briefly, sending his love for you through his touch. “Anything for my girl.”

arvin req…he loves to eat pussy. yeah actually that’s all i have.
NSFW AHEAD MINORS WILL BE BLOCKED
he does! he’s obsessed with you, obsessed with the way your legs shake when he’s deep into your wet cunt while you gasp for air. you’re the sweetest thing he’s ever tasted.
with all that wetness, it doesn’t take very much effort for him to slide two fingers into your walls, pumping slowly and agonizingly as he sucks on your clit. when you look down at him, the sight of his disheveled hair and hungry brown eyes makes you want to explode already. you’re nearly approaching your high and he’d coaxed you into his bed less than half an hour ago.
your high is so close... until it isn’t. he grins at you as he hovers above, his lips dripping with your sweetness.
“vinny,” you whine. he usually hates the nickname unless it comes out of your mouth. especially all desperate like that.
“thought you said i could play with you however i want, baby.”
“i-i’m really close,” you pout. “don’t be mean.”
“oh, you think i’m bein’ mean?” he taunts. he dives back in without a warning and the feeling of his tongue along your folds makes you want to scream.
it’s ironic how you’re the needy one when you can hear him grunting and panting, rutting into the mattress with the fervor of a hungry wolf. your back arches at the sensitivity of your wet heat. he’s unrelenting now, grinning like the devil as he sucks on your clit and smacks your ass within the same breath.
“arvin, i’m gonna cum!” you squeal.
and you do, but he doesn’t stop. no fucking way.
arvin laps at your cunt until your legs vibrate and you have to tap on his head to get him to stop, but he doesn’t.
“arvin!”
you have to nearly pry him off of you, and when he emerges, he’s breathless.
“that good, baby?”
“shut up,” you mumble sheepishly, cheeks heating up already.

ticket to ride - arvin russel | 18+ oneshot
(not my gif)
Tumblr media
“I think I’m gonna be sad
I think is today, yeah
The girl that’s driving me mad
Is goin’ away”
pairing: arvin russel x f!reader
summary: there’s nothing holding you in this city.
content warning: 18+, smut right bellow the cut, unprotected sex, angst, bad words, mentions of suicide, mentions of murder, toxic relationship, movie spoilers.
a.n: first Arvin fic! (rewatching this movie really woke something in me). dark fics aren’t really my thing but Arvin Russel is not exactly a role model of mental health so I think this fits best.
song inspiration
Arvin’s breath was totally pathless, his dick pumping hard into you while his grip on your waist got stronger every second, like he was trying to get you impossibly close to his body. If someone could see his car from the outside, the weird way it was moving could definitely denounce the activities in the back seat.
"I'm so close, baby. You're taking my cock so well." Arvin says breathlessly on your ears, knowing exactly how to get you worked up. He needs no verbal answer that it had an effect in you when feels you tight around him right after his words. "That's right, honey. Keep going like that. Shit, I love you so much."
"I love you." You kiss him deeply like life depends on it and feel the knot on your stomach getting harder to hold, finally releasing on his dick. Letting your body rest on his.
"Come with me." You say after a long moment of silence, touching the subject you both been avoiding, feeling like the air around you was unbearably heavy holding this question in. You move your body up to get him out of you and sitting by his side, still waiting for an answer, that came after a heavy sigh from the boy.
"You know I can't, baby. Not after Lenora, I can't leave my family, not now that they need me the most." You sigh. He was right, you did know that, it has been like that for months now. You had your mind made that you were leaving, then it came to going say your goodbyes to Arvin, you give it to temptation, you both end up in bed or the back of his car.
You wanted to leave this town, more than anything, this place felt like poison, taking away all your hopes to forget the past and move on with Arvin. Like living here costed all your rights to be happy, or free. What you wished that was different, was the cost that such decision had implied to you. Arvin had people who needed him, he had a family. All you had was him.
Flashbacks come to you, at high school Arvin protected you quite literally with his own damn life. Threatening anyone who dared to touch a finger his girl to loose that very finger, or they ugly damn heads. At the time, you made plans with him to run away together when you grew up. Back then, it would just be another case of kids who ran away to try life on a near town, you’d come back to visit, send letters after settled wherever. It was the perfect plan to live a perfect life.
But perfect things do not exist.
It all started to go to shit (even more) when Teagardin showed up in town. You had a bad feeling about him since the start. Lenora, in her place, she had faith in people, specially if that person was the reverend, dear lord, why would she suspect they meant any harm?
But she should.
The man had the worst of the intentions. Of course, as a figure of respect in the city, who would be crazy enough to question anything that he said or did? But again, they should’ve.
After Arvin lost her, you were fundamental for him not to break down, although you were close to an attack yourself, you knew Arvin would need all support he could get, so you provided him that. You stopped him from crossing the line when he couldn't hold it together, but now, you now selfishly wished you didn’t.
If you had killed the bastard he’d have no choice but to run away with you.
“Let’s do it,” you say to him, hovering over his warm body again “let’s put a bullet in that motherfucker’s head and then we get the hell out of here.” you grin at him facing an expression on Arvin’s face that for the first time on years you couldn’t read. “C’mon, Arvin, you almost did it before.”
“Yeah... Almost, but you yourself talked me out of it. What changed?” you chuckle, rolling your eyes.
“Everything.” you kiss his jaw and cup his face to stare him deep in the eyes. “If you’re stuck here, honey, so am I. If you say no, that’s fine, I’ll stay here, with you, as much as try my fucking best I can’t go without you.” you fix yourself to sit comfortably on his lap and continue. “But if you say yes,” you start kissing down his neck between words “we get our justice and get the fuck out, just me and you, baby,” you peck his lips “what do you say?”
You can see Arvin put up a fight with himself behind his eyes, trying to still find some moral left on his brain, deep down, he knew the only thing holding him back from doing justice with his own hands was the fear he had of letting you down, now, seeing you like this, Arvin couldn’t find a single crumble of a reason not to, the offer was too inviting.
“I say I’m with you to the end...let’s do this.” You grin proudly at your boyfriend and kiss him with passion, knowing once in for all once your plan was complete you would never step on these cursed grounds ever again.

Arvin Russel x Reader
~Description~
You make Arvin pinky swear.
~Warnings~
Character death, innocent reader, emotional hurt/comfort, vaginal fingering, mildly dubious consent
Tumblr media
Arvin knew it was wrong to stare at you as you slept. But he couldn’t help it. He needed to look at you in your nightgown. You looked so at peace. The way your chest would softly rise and fall made his heart churn. He was very glad Lenora invited you for a sleepover. He was very glad you left the door wide open. He was very glad you slept with the covers off, the way your nightgown draped over your chest had him hardening at the thought of you.
Two of the buttons were undone from you tossing a bit in your sleep. It drove him crazy when you turned on your back and he could see your nipples hardening from the cold air. He stepped out when he saw your eyes starting to open. He could only hope you didn’t see him. He stepped into the kitchen acting like he was always there when you stepped in.
“Arvin?” the voice was soft and groggy.
“Hey, what are you doing up?” he stared up at you so innocently you couldn’t help but feel your face burn. It was dark and the only thing lighting the kitchen when the morning sun going through daybreak.
“I.. um I had a nightmare.” you knew it was childish. You were now in high school and you still shook and cried from nightmares. You couldn’t help but feel so embarrassed at the thought of it, but Arvin’s face never changed he still held that same old concern in his dark brown eyes.
“Here come sit down. You want to talk about it? It makes Lenora feel better after talking about it.”
You shyly smiled at him causing his heart to want to fly out of his chest. You were sweet, too sweet for your own good.
You gathered the courage and sat down next to Arvin. You guys were close which made you feel his warmth. His leg was barely touching yours but that only made your face heat up even more.
“It was just… Tommy and his stupid gang. They were chasing me and Lenora again,” you did a non-humorous chuckle and sighed. Arvin felt bad he knew he couldn’t always protect you and Lenora. He knew he had to do something about Tommy and his hounds.
Arvin grabbed your hand, which made you jump a little.
“They won’t be chasing you guys in your dreams or at school anymore. I promise.” he watched your eyes widen at that. You didn’t investigate what he was going to do. You were just glad that Arvin was protecting you and Lenora.
“Pinky swear?” you lifted your pinky. Arvin chuckled at that before he held his pinky to yours.
“Pinky swear.”
. . .
You didn’t know what Arvin did but Tommy and his gang left you alone. They never bothered you again. You felt joyful for once. You and Lenora didn’t have to run to Arvin’s pick-up right after school.
You were sitting in his truck, thinking about what your mom was going to make for dinner tonight. You guys were out of the usual ingredients your mom would cook, so she made you go back to the store.
Arvin had just dropped Lenora off at the cemetery. A place you all often went to for Lenora’s sake. You didn’t like cemeteries, but you went for her. She told you both that she didn’t need to get dropped off at home. That she was going to go to the church to see the reverend. He was a handsome man but you couldn’t fight that gross sinking feeling when you were around him.
So you guys left the cemetery to go to the store and pick up things your mother needed. You sat in his truck waiting for him to come back from the store. You didn’t really like going out much, not after your father died, so you usually let Arvin go. As you waited, you had a look around his small pickup. You opened the glove box. You saw a lighter, some cigarettes, and a small tin box with only one word you could read latex.
Before you could open the box, you heard Arvin throw the groceries in the bed. You carefully put the tin box back inside and close the glove box. You closed it as he opened the door.
“I hope I wasn’t in there for too long.” Arvin smiled at you. You only shook your head as he started the truck, “let’s get going then don’t want your mother to get upset from us being out too long.”
“Okay.” You smiled back at him.
It felt like seconds when he drove you home. You wanted to be with him a little bit longer. You felt safe when you were with him. Though the truck smelled of cigarettes, a scent you really wasn’t fond of but for him, you would endure it.
Your mother stood on the porch cigarette in hand. She leaned on one of the banisters and waved when Arvin stopped in front of the house. He turned the truck off then climbed out, and you followed. He only had a few bags in his hands but you still offered to help. Of course, he denied it and said how it wasn’t a lot for him.
As you near your mother, she couldn’t stop the smirk on her face from the both of you together, “you didn’t do anything with my daughter did you?”
“Momma quit…” your whole face heated up immediately.
“I’m only kidding dear.” she rolled her eyes playfully and snuffed out her cigarette. “Arvin, it’s been a while since you came down and ate here. Why not join us? I’m cooking my famous ribs and potatoes.”
“No, I should go I don’t want to be a bother,” he said.
Your mother gave him a dramatic gasp, “Arvin Russel a bother no way in hell. Come on in.” She dragged him into the house, and you followed them behind.
Your mother got started quickly, cutting the ribs and peeling the potatoes at an insanely fast pace. You never got how she did it so fast must be from being a mother, you giggled to yourself.
You and Arvin sat down at the table making light conversation about the homework you had at school. Your mother would sometimes come in and talk about how you’re doing harder classes, which caused you to get embarrassed because Arvin made a big show of it.
You all continued to talk about everything as your mother made the plates and sat them down in front of both of you guys. You all prayed and dug in. Your mother’s ribs and potatoes were always delicious, and you could tell with Arvin’s smile on his face.
“This is so delicious, thank you,” Arvin groaned with a mouth full of food.
“It really is good momma,” you stuffed more in your face.
“Thank you, I try my best,” your mother giggled, “So Arvin, how’s Lenora?”
He shook his head, “she’s doing fine. She still goes to see her mother’s grave after school.”
“Hmm, poor girl,” she sighed it was quiet after that you guys continued to eat and just enjoyed the quality time together.
You heard your mother speak up just as you push your plate to the side, “How are you Arvin? You got anyone special?”
He laughed which caused your mother to laugh too, “No I’m too busy workin.”
You silently let out a breath that you didn’t know you were holding. You were glad he wasn’t seeing anyone. Your mother smiled at you and him.
“Hmm, it seems like y’all are done. I’ll get these out of the way for y’all,” she said as she picked up the plates.
“It's okay go, rest ma’am, we got it,” he smiled back at your mother.
“Aw, are you sure?”
“It's no problem you let me eat here it's the least I could do,” your mother reluctantly gave him the plates.
“Sugar bee, make sure you help him with cleanin.”
“I will momma,” you told her as she rubbed your cheek before leaving. When you both were at the sink, your arms touched, and you felt like you were about to float away. As the water got hot you started to scrub the plates carefully putting them on Arvin’s side where he rinsed them and placed them on the towel to dry.
Once you got done you both sat back down. It was awkward at first the tension was thick as you both sat there. You were just about to try and start a conversation when Arvin spoke up.
“I guess I’ll head on out.” Arvin smiled at you.
“Ah okay… see ya later.” you smiled back at him walking him out.
He started to walk away causing you to stop him and give him a quick peck on the cheek, “Drive safe, Arvin.”
Before you could walk back inside you grabbed your wrist and swung you back in for a kiss on your lips. It was your first kiss ever. And you couldn’t do anything but melt against him. He held onto your waist, and all you felt were the warm explosions from being so close to him. You’ve dreamed of this moment for years now and it’s actually happening. You couldn’t help but pull back though it was intense the way he kissed you. The way he held your waist. You needed to take a deep breath.
“I’m- I’m sorry… I I should’ve controlled myself.” Arvin immediately pulled himself away from you. You didn’t want him to go.
“No no I’m sorry it’s my first time please… don’t go.” you held his shirt and he sighed.
He went back towards you and held your face. His thumb went over your bottom lip. You closed your eyes when his lips started to touch yours again. This time he used his tongue. It felt like he was trying to taste you whole. It made you feel weak in your knees. They started to wobble a bit making him hold you close to him. He pulled back leaving you both panting.
“Arvin…” you sighed against him. Your foreheads touched as you both stood there trying to catch your breath.
“I got to go I’m sorry sweetheart.” he kissed you again on the cheek.
“Okay… I’ll see you later,” you whispered to him as he reluctantly let go of you.
“See you later.” he waved as he got into his truck.
You held yourself because of how cold it got. You watched him leave before making your way back inside. You couldn’t stop the grin that fell on your face. You kissed him. And he kissed you back. You touched your lips with your fingers. He kissed you. And you kissed him.
. . .
Lenora is gone. You couldn’t stop crying at the news. Lenora sweet Lenora. Lenora, who would never hurt a fly. All you could think about was her and Arvin.
Arvin.
You needed to see Arvin. You needed to know if he was okay. You knew he wasn’t… he was the one that found her. You ran towards their house. They lived just down the road from you. You ran as fast as you could. When you got there all you saw was Emma crying and Arvin walking away to the truck. He slammed his door and got it started.
You ran to the passenger's side and opened the door. Arvin looked stunned to see you. You had red puffy eyes as if someone punched your face and your lips were swollen. He didn’t say anything when you brought yourself in. He just shifted the gear and left. You didn’t know where you were going, but Arvin had a look on his face as if he knew.
He drove you to a field, it had just started raining. It came down heavily almost as if it was drowning anything it could find. Arvin grabbed hold of your hand squeezing it a little as he stared at the field. He didn’t say anything, he didn’t have to. All you could do was shake you weren’t cold but he took you as if you were. He scooted closer taking off his jacket to wrap it around you.
He looked down towards you as you leaned against his shoulder, holding his waist before fully hiding underneath his jacket. You wanted to cry some more but you couldn’t. Nothing came out. Arvin comforted you rubbing your back in small circles and kissing parts of your head that weren’t hidden by the jacket. Then finally he came down close to your face. His breath fanning your lips. Your heart started to race. Normally you would be quite embarrassed by the close proximity to him and the beating of your heart but you didn’t care. You just wanted him to take away the pain. You wanted him to love you. To make love with you.
You sat up and he followed. His forehead softly fell on yours. You took a deep breath as his lips licked at yours. Almost like he was asking and you nodded your head just as he took your face in his hand. He held you as if you could fall and break at any moment. When his lips came into contact with yours, you let out the breath you were holding. He took the liberty to add his tongue tasting you like last time but it was different. It felt as though he wanted the same thing you wanted. To forget. To forget about everything and everyone as if you were the only two on this earth.
He pushed you onto your back and held onto your waist, rubbing it up and down. He didn’t waste a second as one of his hands went under your dress. You gasped when he ripped down your underwear. His fingers lit a fire throughout your body. When they got to a specific area you couldn’t stop the sound that came out of you. You didn’t quite understand what he was doing but you didn’t ask about it you let him continue his work. When one of his fingers entered you it didn’t feel bad but it didn’t feel good either. You let him continue without stopping. He stopped kissing you only to do light pecks down your face and neck. His hand left that intimate spot between your legs making you sigh at the loss.
He took the fingers that he touched you with and started to lick them. You felt your face heat immediately when he came back to unbutton your cardigan and then your dress. He pulled you from your bra. Your bra laid under your breasts it was uncomfortable but as soon as his lips came around one of them you forgot all about it. One of his hands was back on your heat and the other was teasing your nipple. You felt like you were about to pass out everything felt intense when he inserted two fingers inside you. You moaned at the feeling. That tight twisting feeling came and devoured your stomach. You couldn’t stop panting and moaning. Then finally you unraveled all over his fingers. Arvin groaned when he sat back and saw you on display for him.
“You’re so beautiful…”
he petted your hair and kissed you on your cheek. You tried to smile at him even though you were a little tired.
“Arvin… don’t ever leave me.” You started to cry making his whole demeanor change. He looked as though he did something terrible to you. You sat up and hugged him as close as you could to him.
“I’m- I would never leave you…” he whispered close to your ear.
“Promise?” you looked at him as seriously as you could. Just like last time, you held your pinky up, but this time Arvin didn’t chuckle he held up his pinky to yours.
“Promise.”

Warnings: Dark Lee, Stalking, toxic relationships, age gap (reader 20, lee 40s), southern people (yes it’s a warning), mentions of death. Future smut: daddy kink, degradation kink, praise kink, spit kink
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lee knew he wasn’t a good man, but he had to pretend to be. Some knew of his dirty deeds, most didn’t but you…..it was as if you could see through his perfectly crafted image. As if those Bambi eyes saw into his guilty soul. Maybe you couldn’t see the bad man in him. Maybe he was just paranoid at the possibility of scaring you away. Either way though, Lee wanted you.
He wanted to hear your pretty laugh, he wanted your perfect baking, and he wanted to see you fall apart for him. You were always so sweet and graceful. Almost swanlike. But Lee desperately wanted to see your pretty eyes spill with tears of pleasure. Tears that he caused. See your cute mouth struggle to find words as he forces orgasm after orgasm out of your pretty body.
Lee knew pretty things like you didn’t last long in knockemstiff, women either raising babies, workin’ the street, or found dead. He wondered what you’d look like as his little housewife. You standing at the door with his meal ready and a baby in your belly, though something about your focus being on a child rubbed him the wrong way. No, Lee knew you were meant for more than the three types of women that this town allowed. No babies, no men ready to pay, and definitely not dead in an unsolved case file.
No, you were meant to be his. His to love, his to fuck, and his to spoil. Lee may not be a good man but you, one way or another, were gonna be his good girl.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
- “is there a reason you’re blushin’ like that?” Sandy had questioned in an attempt to draw you out of your dreamy haze. - “just hot is all San” you lied. No truth was you found yourself eyeing your coworker and friends older brother. Way older.
Lee often came into the dinner on Thursday, always an hour after closing, but today he was thirty minutes late. You’d felt disappointed thinking he wouldn’t come in tonight until you heard the little ding from the door and his heavy sigh. Immediately you felt relaxed, as if all worry had left as soon as those blue eyes connected with yours.
Yes you’d had a little crush on the older man for reasons you couldn’t understand. Aunt Gill said the law of this town was corrupt and had always wanted you to stay away from the politics surrounding it, always telling you of how those men payed good money and even killed just for a little taste of power. Why would anyone kill for any kinda position in this town? Though even with her warnings you couldn’t look away. What if he was an exception? He rarely ever smiled but he always spoke to you with more respect than any other man and he tipped well too.
You watched as he made his way to his usual spot, you already cutting a piece of his favorite cherry pie. - “ just take Lee his pie and head home, girly. Don’t want ya to be late for Arvin tomorrow” Sandy said with a wink.
Oh. Oh yeah, Arvin. You’d been so consumed with what could possibly have kept Lee busy that you’d completely forgotten about your plans with Arvin tomorrow. He was a sweet boy who’d shown interest in your for a while now and he was actually your age, so when he’d nervously asked you on a date, of course you said yes.
You brushed off your hands onto the apron around your waist as you made your way over to Lee as a nervous quirk.
- “ Evening’ Sheriff. I’m glad you could still make it tonight” you said with a little smile. Genuinely happy to see him.
God that angelic smile almost broke Lee right there. - “ Sorry angel, got held back with a case. Preacher was found shot dead.”
Lee didn’t often tell you the dark things he worked with. He didn’t want to hurt your little heart…but sometimes he found a sick joy in seeing your babydoll eyes widen with fear. Fear of the dark world surrounding you. Lee wouldn’t let that world hurt you, no he did everything in his power to keep that darkness out, with the exception of himself.
- “oh gosh, Sheriff. The pie ain’t good enough for you to come by after something as exhausting as that!”
The pie? Surely you didn’t think he came here every day for the pie you didn’t even make? - “what makes you think i come here for the pie, babydoll?” Lee smirked as he watched your face heat up at his tone.
- “I-I just figured….figured ya know cause Sandy m-makes the pie and ya know…” he watched you mumble as you played with the hem of your uniform. Cute he thought. So fucking cute.
- “no, sweetheart. Gotta make sure my sis is treating my best girl right, don’t i?”
Your swear you heart beat broke some kind of record at his comment. You weren’t sure what to say but you knew you wanted him to continue.
- “ Lee let the girl go home!” His sister shouted as she made her way around the counter. - “you’ve kept her long enough. Y/n, honey you head home now, alright?” Sandy said as she handed you your little bag, almost pushing you out the door.
- “o-oh of course. Good night San. Good night Sheriff!” You called as you made your way out but not without hearing him say a ‘goodnight babydoll’ back.
You found yourself thinking about his comment the whole walk home and even into the night.
His best girl.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
- “you stay away from that girl, Lee.” His sister hissed with a finger pointed in his direction. - “ she’s got a good life ahead of her and she doesn’t need your issues gettin’ In the way.”
- “my issues” he scoffed. “My issue is the fact that rumor says my sister is out there whorin’ around! I don’t need you fuckin’ up this election for me Sandy.” He said standing up obviously pissed at her mentioning you.
- “their just rumors lee…and of course you’d bring that up when we’re talking about you. You’ve been drinkin’ again haven’t you? That why you’re obsessed with this girl?” She pushed.
- “ M’not obsessed. She’s sweet and why can’t I be interested in her? I deserve a life outside of pickin’ up your messes, Sandy!”
Sandy loved her brother. But she knew. She knew of his control issues. She knew of his drives past your little house and that he only showed up to the diner on nights you worked.
- “Well it doesn’t matter what you think you deserve when it comes to her Lee. You know why? Cause shes got a date with that Russell boy tomorrow. So you stay away and let her live free from your bullshit” Sandy snarled as she poked his chest.
Lee saw red. Arvin Russel? She thought he was more fucked up than that kid? Hell he figured the man behind the murder of that shifty preacher was Arvin. Like hell he’d let his angel go on a date with that kid. Lee was sure that kid wouldn’t even know how to please you right. He wouldn’t treat you like a princess and definitely wouldn’t make you cum as hard as he could.
Lee knew his sister and Arvin were just obstacles in his way. They wouldn’t be able to stop him from making you his.
- “ go home lee. It’s way past closing and I’m tired” Sandy mumbled as she pulled at her face.
- “Fine…just keep whatever shit you’re doin’…just keep it down. This rumor is the last thing I need.” He said as he laid down her change.
Lee made his way out to his car, still seething at the thought of his girl going out with someone who wasn’t him. He’d make his usual stop by your house tonight, make sure his angel was okay and safe even if he was slightly frustrated with your stupid decision.
No this is my fault.
If he’d have just claimed you as his already than this wouldn’t have happened. But he needed things to be perfect. He needed to get past this election and get Sandy off his back. Then you’d be his. His to love, his to fuck, and his to spoil. You’d be his, and only his. You be his perfect good little girl.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
- “Darlin’ here please take my jacket” Arvin pleaded. You were shaking like a leaf and it was killing him. -“ you’ll get sick and I’ll no choice but to nurse you myself”
Arvin taking care of you didn’t sound too bad. He’d been nothing but a gentleman so far. You’d wanted something simple, so you both had decided on getting some shakes. Well…something simple just wasn’t enough as the two of you had ended up getting lost in conversation. He told you about his mother and father and you told him about your life in the city. - “I don’t think that stigma is true ya know? Of city girls bein’ hard to please. You’re truly the sweetest thing I’ve ever met y/n.”
Hard to please.
- “I think you’re a real sweetheart too, Arvin.” You’d said and meant it. You enjoyed your time with the boy but couldn’t shake off that he was hiding something. He had a harsh life, his father had exposed him to traumatic things early on and with his Sisters passing recently, you bet you’d be a bit standoffish too.
The stars had already made an appearance in the sky, signaling it was time for you to head home to Gill.
- “y/n I was thinkn’…..well I’m askn’ if I could kiss you?” Arvin mumbled as he played with your smaller hands.
Did you want him to kiss you? Did you have romantic feelings for Arvin? There couldn’t be much harm in kissing him, you decided. So without an answer you stood on the tips of your toes and kissed him. He tasted nice, like the birthday cake shake he’d had not long ago. He seemed stunned at first, but after a few seconds he started to kiss back. His hands slowly rubbed down your arms and you found yourself wanting more.
Though just as the pace picked up, Arvin stiffened.
- “Arvin, honey what’s wrong?” You pulled away, searching his eyes. He was looking behind you, hands tightly gripping your arms.
Confused as to what could possibly cause him to stop, you turned only to see what looked to be trees and an empty cop car. It frustrated you. Why was he being so odd?
- “well….uh..t-thank you for the evening, Arvin. I really enjoyed it.” You mumbled as you pulled away from him. Arvin still continued to stare, as if a ghost had stolen his attention, until it finally allowed him to place his eyes back on you.
- “good night y/n.” He muttered already turning back to head to his truck. Did he not enjoy the kiss? Had you done something wrong? His odd response had caused you to question yourself.
And he wasn’t even willing to drive you home.
You watched his back as he disappeared down the dark street. Willing the tears in your eyes to not make it down your face. Though you must’ve not tried hard enough.
- “asshole” you sobbed. You felt pathetic as you stood in the middle of your empty town. Gill was going to kill him when you explained to her why you came home with tears in your eyes and dirt staining your pretty white heals.
Be a big girl y/n.
You wiped the salty tears on the sleeve of his jacket that you still had on. The realization only made you cry harder. You didn’t even care that you were scuffing the shoes you’d saved up for, as you trudged your way home.
Lost in your pool of self loath, you’d yet to hear the car making its way past you as you neared the edge of the downtown street.
- “Sweetheart? Whatcha doin’ out here so late?“
Oh god.
The sound of his voice only caused you to burst into tears again. Of course your luck would have it were Lee Bodecker saw you as a crying mess right after you had your heart broken.
You’d heard the slam of his door but couldn’t see anything through your cloud of tears. Not until you felt his hands grab your face and gently do his best to rub them away. - “babydoll ima need you to tell me what happen- and who’s jacket is this? He cut himself off with his own question as he harshly pulled the jacket off your arms. You didn’t mind though, as the leather jacket rubbing against your skin only reminded you of the odd encounter you just had.
- “lee..please…” you mumbled as you looked up into his furious blue eyes - “ please just take me home…”
Lee knew he was selfish…but you’d asked him to take you home. You just didn’t know it would be your new home. You would forgive him eventually. He’d have to figure out a way to keep your disappearance quiet, maybe turn it on that fucking Russell kid, but he’d sort that out later.
For now all he needed to do was take his girl home…to her rightful home.

On the run after shooting Bodecker and fleeing Knockemstiff, Arvin finds himself in Bowling Green, Ohio. It’s nothing but flat fields and corn as far as the eye can see.
The town’s small but not too small, with the added bonus of the local university being a great cover story. All he has to say is he’s a student, and any probing questions resolve themselves.
Before long he sets himself up as a part-time laborer on a dairy farm while working towards his ‘degree.’ The thing is… the farmer has the prettiest little wife he’s ever seen. Always greets him with soft hands, tender eyes and a honey-sweet smile. How could he not want you all to himself?
It’s also clear there’s no love lost between your husband and you, the air always rippling with tension. A marriage that’s over before either party’s realized it.
Maybe it’s the baby, maybe it’s the farm, maybe it’s just two people who were never right for each other in the first place. Regardless of the reason, Arvin knows you’re not being treated the way you deserve.
But it’s gonna be alright because he’s here. You won’t have to cry yourself to sleep anymore. He’s more than willing to give you everything a woman wants - ready to cherish every inch of you he can.
And once the both of you are ready to move on, he’ll find a nice place to settle down and start a family of your own.
The only hiccup is that he has to convince you of how good it’ll be first. Change is scary but he’s patient. You’ll see it was all for the best in the end. There’s no need to cling to your old life when he’s offering something so much better.
Which is how you find yourself ambushed in the middle of the night by your deceptively sweet farmhand. He seemed like such a charmer, albeit sullen. Now he’s been here for months and refuses to leave you be. Always chasing after you with boundless passion and heady desire.
You’ve learned that once he gets his hands on you, there’s no getting free until he’s satisfied.
“Mm, yeah, that’s it, darlin’. Been wantin’ to do this all afternoon. Fuck - ya looked so pretty in that sundress.”
Teeth sink into the meat of your thumb, blood bursting iron sharp across your tastebuds. You whimper, muffled and needy as your back arches, your shoulder blades grinding into the oceanic wallpaper your husband helped pick out when you moved into the farmhouse.
Arvin presses you into the wall so hard it’s difficult to catch a breath, his chest a firm line of heat against your front. Weak hands shove at his broad shoulders but he doesn’t even flinch, his frame solid and unyielding.
“Always smell so good for me.” He looms over you, his head tucked into the curve of your throat as his teeth work at the flutter of your pulse. “My pretty, pretty baby.”
“Arvin, I said no marks…” Your hips jerk against his, a flush of shame heating your belly when you feel how wet your pussy is against his thigh. “I’m running out of makeup. Won’t be able to hide them.”
“Good.”
His words are a rumbled growl in your ear, his breath puffing over the sensitive shell. His hands capture the curves of your waist when you try to squirm away, steel bands that shackle you in place.
“Let ‘im see, let ‘im know his pretty little wife’s pussy belongs to me.”
A flare of heat kindles to life low in your belly, liquid desire settling between your thighs. You hate how much his words get to you, how desperate you get for his touch. He never takes no for an answer, just bulldozes right on in as he pleases.
The initiative shouldn’t be as flattering as you find it. But between juggling your baby, your husband, and the farm, your needs have fallen by the wayside. You can’t even remember the last time your husband touched you willingly.
“Arvin, please, I…”
If it’s a plea to stop or a plea to keep pushing you to your limits, you don’t know. This persistent young man has seen fit to invade every aspect of your life in such a short amount of time. You’re not sure you recognize the person you’re becoming under him.
A kneecap grinds into your aching clit.
“Arv-hhn…” you pant, burying your head in his shoulder. The fabric of his t-shirt is soft against your lips. “Can’t - can’t…”
“Shh,” he says, rocking up into the cradle of your thighs, his voice a low croon that hooks behind your navel and tugs. “Ya can, I know ya can, darlin’. Doin’ so good for me.”
The tidal wave of pleasure crashes through you, ebbing flows that tease at your nerve endings until you’re sobbing in his arms. Muffled sounds ring out through the empty hall, shattering the midnight silence. Your legs tremble with the effort of holding your weight, your hips flexing with aborted thrusts.
He plasters your bodies together from hip to sternum, the momentum of his teasing grinds never faltering. So firm and warm and right where you want it…
“Better be quiet if you’re so worried,” Arvin says.“They’ll hear ya and then what’ll ya do? Your precious husband’ll see his slut of a wife hanging off another man’s cock.”
You swallow, the filthy works sparking a shiver of delight. You clench, a rush of slick wetting the seat of your panties. And that’s perhaps the worst thing about all of this - how much your body craves his touch.
Ashamed, your eyes slam closed but not before you catch Arvin’s gaze, his eyes half-lidded and impossibly dark with hunger.
“Oh, is that what you’ve been hidin’ from me, darlin’?”
He breathes, his long fingers reaching up to caress the soft swell of your breast. He drops kisses along the curve of your jaw with a pleased little hum, and circles the peak of your nipple through the thin camisole.
“Ya want ‘im to see, ya want ‘im to know how wet ya get for me - don’t ya?”
Your answer sounds in the form of a moan.
He smirks, a devilish curve to his lips, “Mm, why don’t we show ‘im then?”
Your eyes snap open, immediately desperate for an altogether different reason. Your stomach drops at the look of utter satisfaction on Arvin’s face. Before you can beg and plead, two fingers wrap around your nipple and squeeze hard. Try as you might, you can’t bite back the utterly wrecked noise that claws its way out of your throat, echoing loud.
Wetness trickles from your breast, dribbles down your skin and sticks your sleep shirt to you. The colour of your areola peeks through the milk-soaked fabric. But you don’t have time to worry about leaking through another shirt because there’s no way your husband didn’t hear that. You’re in the hall right outside the master bedroom.
The bed creaks. “You all right out there?” your husband calls.
“Arvin, get out of here.” He doesn’t budge. You smack his chest with a hollow thump. “Damnit, Arvin, go!”
Another rough tug of his fingers, and you’re weak-kneed. Fuzzy-headed. More milk dribbles from your tender nipple. You hiss at the overstimulation, little sparks of pain in the pleasure.
Devil black, and delicious.
About to cry, you can’t help jerking over his thigh one last time just to feel the drag of your slick folds. And then you’re trying to squirm out of his ironclad hold. You both know it’s in vain - if he doesn’t want you to go anywhere, you won’t - but you put up a fight all the same.
“Please, go.”
His breath stutters from him, his eyes burning into yours as he sucks off the milk clinging to his fingertips. You always look the prettiest to him when you cry, your eyes glassy and desperate for something only he can give you. He grinds close so he can feel every inch of your softness.
“Just as sweet as always.”
“Arvin,” you say with a shake of your head. “He can’t see you.”
“I will this time,” his eyes are shards of flint when he holds your gaze, his mouth a set line of tension, “But ya can’t run from me. I’m gettin’ real tired of hidin’ an’  of sharin’. You’re mine, he just doesn’t know it yet.”
Before any more can be said, the pressure of Arvin’s body against yours disappears in a great rush of air. You shiver, reaching up to fix your strap just as the door to the bedroom swings open and your husband pokes his head out. He calls your name, his eyes squinting through the dark.
“Woman, the hell you doin’ out here?”
“Nothing, just,” you start, off-kilter, “just getting something to drink.”
You’ve never been more thankful you married a man with poor eyesight. If he saw the evidence of your indiscretion… your trembling thighs, the dampened crotch of your shorts, nipples peeking through the ruined tank top… there’d be no saving it.
“Ya sure? Thought I heard a yelp.”
The words taste like ash when you smile and say, “Mhm… kicked that side table again.”
His chuckle sounds, the shape of his body turning back into the room. “Maybe we should get a damn nightlight for the hall then.” He turns back to look at you. “Ya comin’?”
“Y-Yeah, be there in a minute, sweetie.” You don’t hear his response, too focused on the phantom hands gliding along your thighs, cupping your cunt and playing with your dripping folds. “I need to go to the bathroom.”
Smoke and faded cologne tease your senses, moist lips skimming the side of your face as Arvin whispers a promise into your skin, “See ya tomorrow, darlin’.”

Arvin watched as you paced down the driveway towards his car, it was obvious already that you were exhausted. You were slouched over, your hair, which had been down when he dropped you off, was now tied in a messy ponytail. Arvin leaned over to open the door for you as you approached the car.
“Hey sunshine,” he smiled, “Why the sour face?”
You shot him the dirtiest look he’d ever seen as you climbed into the passenger seat, “We are never, ever having kids.”
He laughed, “That bad?”
You nodded, “You have no idea. They were acting crazy all day, Jonathan started screaming if I put him down for even a second, and I couldn’t get Henry to sit down for anything. I mean even during lunch he kept getting up and running around.”
“I’m sorry darlin’,” he frowned and kissed the back of your hand, “Why don’t we skip the river today? We can just head back to mine or yours so you can rest for a while.”
“No, no, I still wanna go,” you insisted, “I’m sure you already packed food up and everything…”
“I did, but we still don’t have to go.”
“I want to, I’m sure I’ll feel better after I eat and sit down for a while,” you scooted into the middle seat of his truck and kissed his cheek.
“Alright,” he grinned, “But let me know if you change your mind.”
“Yay,” you cheered, snuggling into his side as he pulled onto the road.
Arvin set his hand on your leg but almost instantly retracted it, his face contorting to disgust, “Why are you sticky?”
“Oh god,” you groaned and looked down at your legs, they looked fine but when you touched them they were sticky, “I let the boys have some popsicles, I thought I got it all off of me,” you cringed as you poked your leg, “That’s disgusting.”
Arvin started to laugh, “Don’t worry, you can rinse off in the river.”
You sighed and leaned back against the car seat, “You better have packed some good food.”
“Don’t worry, I made us some sandwiches, and I went to that bakery downtown and got some of those little cakes you like,” he reached over for you again, running the back of his fingers down your cheek, “You could close your eyes for a minute pretty girl.”
“I’m okay,” you assured, turning lazily towards him, “You’re the best boyfriend in the world, you know that?”
“I try my best,” he lifted his arm, giving you room to snuggle up underneath it, “Now come here, sticky or not, I like having you close.”
“Aw,” you cooed as he wrapped his arm around you.
You turned your attention to the road ahead of you. The town started to fade away, being replaced with dense trees and only the occasional home as you krept closer and closer to the river. Arvin was driving out further than he usually he did, wanting to make sure that you two wouldn’t run into anyone while you were out. It was a special day, he wanted to keep it just the two of you.
“Here we are,” he grinned as he pulled into a small dirt parking lot. A large sign advertised some kind of hiking trail, “Looks like it’s just us.”
“Yay,” you grinned.
Arvin passed you the picnic blanket as he climbed out of the car. He took the basket of food and your hand and led you down a thin dirt trail. It was hot, and you were tired, but Arvin promised you it wasn’t a far walk. He half jokingly offered you a piggyback ride, but you had a little too much pride to accept it.
“Here we are,” he grinned as you two stumbled into a small alcove.
The river bank was all rock and grass, it was much more serene than the dirt banks closer to your home. You spread the blanket out on the grass and happily fell down on top of it. You kicked off your shoes and spread your arms out over the blanket. Arvin laughed and set the basket down beside you. You watched with a smile as he lifted his shirt over his head, leaving him in just his swim trunks.
“I would whistle if I wasn’t so tired,” you grinned up at him.
He smiled and tossed his shirt at your face, “There, you can have a souvenir.”
You rolled your eyes and pushed his shirt off you, “Come on, I already have a million of those.”
“Cause you’re a thief,” he pinched your chin and opened up the basket, “You still hungry sweetheart?”
“I’m starved,” you rubbed your grumbling stomach with a smile, “Sandwiches right?”
He nodded and set a paper plate in your lap, “Yeah, I put a lot of hard work into them so you better enjoy.”
Your eyes widened excitedly as he presented the sandwich to you, “Don’t worry, I plan on it.”
The sandwich tasted divine after the long day you’d had. You were eternally grateful that you had a boyfriend who didn’t mind sitting quietly while you ate. Arvin was always happy just to be near you, and he didn’t mind at all if you wanted to sit in silence after a long day. He would just sit beside you and peck at his food, watching you watch the river.
“This is nice,” you hummed, “The river’s beautiful.”
“You’re beautiful,” Arvin pecked your cheek.
You flushed and turned to him, “You don’t have to be so sweet all the time Arvin.”
“Well sure I do, it’s what you deserve,” he nuzzled his nose against your cheek, “How’s the sandwich?”
“Amazing,” you groaned before shoving the last bite into your mouth.
“Save room for dessert,” he laughed, “You really were starving huh?”
You nodded, “You have no idea, I had no time to eat while I was chasing the kids, I thought I was about to wither away.”
“My poor girl,” he flashed a pout, “You know when we have kids I’m sure they’ll be much sweeter to you than the boys are. They’ll save all the screaming and running around for me.”
“The boys are sweet Arvin, they’re just kids,” you cracked a small smile, “And I’m sure our kids will terrorize us equally.”
“Well probably, but I was trying to make you feel better,” he chuckled and peeked into the basket beside him, “You want your cake now sweetheart?”
You hummed and nodded, “Yeah, I think I do.”
“Great, just one thing first,” his cheeks dusted pink, “I know you said you didn’t want to do gifts but I couldn’t help myself…”
“Arvin,” you scolded.
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” he waved his hand at you and reached into the basket, pulling out a small black, velvet box, “It’s small, don’t worry.”
You tried to fight your smile as he placed the box in your lap, “Now I feel bad, I should have got you something.”
“I don’t need anything sweetheart, I just like seeing you happy,” he kissed your cheek, “Go ahead and open it.”
“I am, have some patience,” you giggled and pulled the box open.
Inside was a simple silver chain with a small heart charm hanging off of it. The charm had been delicately carved with both of your initials. It was absolutely gorgeous, your mouth fell open in disbelief.
“You like it?” he questioned.
You quickly nodded, “I love it Arvin, this is so beautiful.”
He let out a relieved breath, “Thank goodness. You have no clue how nervous I was.”
“I love it,” you repeated, pulling him in for a quick kiss, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” he set both his hands over yours, “Can I help you put it on?”
“Yes, please,” you nodded eagerly.
Arvin crawled behind you and swept your hair to the side. He took the necklace from the box and wrapped it around your neck. He carefully clasped it behind you and pressed his lips to your neck.
“There,” he pulled away with a content hum, “I think it looks pretty, silver looks good on you.”
You nodded in agreement, “It’s perfect.”
“I’m glad you like it,” he ran his hand over your collar with a smile, “Happy anniversary sweetheart.”
“Happy anniversary,” you cooed back and wrapped your arms around his neck, “Have I ever told you how handsome you are?”
“A few times,” he nuzzled his nose against your cheek and started trailing kisses up your jaw, “How about we head in the water? It’s hot out here.”
“You can head in, I think I’m gonna lay down for a minute,” you patted his chest and flattened out the blanket, “Just a minute though, don’t let me fall asleep.”
“Why are you laying down if you don’t wanna fall asleep?” he laughed.
“I just wanna rest a minute,” you laid your head in his lap, “You can get in if you want.”
“No, no, I’ll stay here,” he ran his hand through your hair, “You rest.”
Your eyes fell heavy as you watched the river in front of you. The soothing sound of the water and Arvin’s hand in your hair were urging you to sleep, but you were determined to stay awake. You wanted to enjoy the river and actually get in the water for a while, you could sleep later, when you were curled up in bed with your boyfriend.
“You still wanna stay awake pretty girl?” Arvin cooed, noticing you starting to drift off in his lap.
“Yeah,” you mumbled, “I’m gonna get up and we’re gonna go swim.”
He smiled to himself, “Why don’t you get up then?”
“I will, I will,” you promised, “It’s only been a minute.”
“No,” he peaked at his watch, “It’s been almost an hour.”
You looked up at him, “No it hasn’t.”
“Yes, it has,” he chuckled, “You keep drifting off and waking up. You know we can always go home if you’re that tired, the river will still be here tomorrow.”
“I want to swim,” you insisted, slowly pushing yourself off his lap, “I gotta get my dress off.”
Arvin’s lips tugged to a smirked as you attempted to reach back and unzip your dress, “Let me help,” he gently tugged your zipper down to free you from the dress, “There you go.”
“Thank you,” you pulled the dress up and over your head and folded it up in your lap.
Arvin stood, taking just a moment to admire you in your swimsuit, “You coming?”
You yawned and nodded, “Yeah, just a sec.”
“I told you, we can always go home,” he offered again.
“I’m coming,” you tried to push yourself up, only for you to fall back down. Your left leg, which you’d been laying on top of, was totally numb, “Ouch,” you grunted as you fell back down.
Arvin started laughing, “Forget how to stand sweetheart?”
“No,” you groaned, “Help me, my leg is asleep,” you extended your arms towards him, expecting him to help you stand back up.
“Poor girl,” he clicked his tongue and bent down in front of you, “Let me help.”
He hoisted you into the air suddenly, pulling you in close to his chest as he stood. You squealed and clung to his neck, “Arvin put me down!” you demanded through a fit of giggles.
“You asked for help, I’m helping,” he laughed in response as he approached the water.
“You know that’s not what I meant,” you continued giggling as he entered the water.
“The water feels nice,” he dipped you down so your feet grazed the water.
You shivered at the sensation and stretched to try and dip your legs the rest of the way in, “Come on, let me get in.”
“Oh you mean put you down?” Arvin cocked his head, pretending not to know what you wanted as he waded deeper.
“Yes dork, so I can swim.”
“Ah,” he hummed, “I could do that, but I sort of like having you close,” he kissed your cheek, “You know you might be able to convince me to let you go though.”
“And how would I do that?” you smiled as he pulled you into the water with him, “A kiss maybe?”
“A kiss might do it,” he nodded.
“Okay,” you cupped his face in your hands, running your thumbs over his cheeks before you pressed his lips to his.
He smiled into the kiss, gently squeezing your body against his. His grip on you loosened and he let you slip out of his arms. Slowly you pulled away, looking up at him with a big smile. He pressed a kiss to the tip of your nose, then to your forehead.
“You know you’re too cute for your own good sunshine,” he purred.
“Well you’re too handsome for your own good,” you hummed in response.
“As long as I’m handsome enough for you to stick around that’s all I care about,” he ran his thumb over your bottom lip, “You better start swimming if that’s what you wanna do sweetheart, otherwise I’m gonna start kissing you again.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing,” you took his hand and leaned back into the water, “I think we’ve got time for both.”

Arvin x Reader One shot
Tumblr media
A/n: back again and most likely disappear had this in one of my drafts hehe hope you enjoy!! before you read there are mentions of a person unaliving themselves so slight trigger warning ‼️
You met Lenora at school sitting in the lunchroom all lonesome, you walked over to her and had stares like daggers when you made your way to her. She looked up and all she could do was stare at you and your bows in your hair with your nice smile as you placed your things on the table and sat across from her, “hi, im y/n, what's your name?” she asked as Lenora was in awe of your kindness, “im Lenora…you sure you wanna sit here?” she asked as you nodded, “yeah, is it okay if i sit here?” you asked as she smiled, “yes, it's very nice to have someone here,” she said as you two talked about anything. Lenora loved how she would spend time with you and she had even explained as to why she was all alone. Her family was such a talk around here, they had gone through so much. The time you had with her was nice. In the beginning you only saw her in the lunchroom, after school you never got sight of her. As time went on you found out why she sped on home, there was this group of boys who would tease her about herself and how her brother arvin had a special relationship according to them and no evidence at all of what was going on.
“They just got nothin better to do,” she explained and you fully believed in her word, “i believe you, those dumbasses probably have it worse that's why they say words that aren't true,” you said as she nodded as you and her walked out of school, “the good thing is they stopped, but it really scares me sometime,”
Out of nowhere this boy walked up to you two, “lenora i thought i told you to book it once the bell rings,” he spoke looking at you then her, “i know, but- oh god where are my manners, y/n this is arvin my brother and arvin this is probably my only friend in this whole school,” she said as you nodded, “hi, sorry for taking her away for a little, just wanted to make sure she was getting home fine,” you explained to arvin as he just couldn't keep his eye off you, “i-its okay sorry, its just i get real worried, it's nice to meet you y/n,” he said still stern as he was he walked back to his car as he looked over at you two talked, “well i'll see you later yeah?” lenora said, “yeah don't worry i'll probably see you at church at latest,” you suggested as she nodded having a better idea, “you know what, what if you come for dinner saturday, that way you can sleep over and we can go to church on sunday,” as you nodded, “Really? You sure?” you asked knowing her momma was strict about it. She was more sure than anything, her momma knew that she had no friends, but after hearing so much about you she was more than happy to have you over and spend time with them.
The time you had with the Russell family was like having another family. You only had your aunt who took you after your daddy died in the war. You didn't have a mother, she left you with your daddy after having you, so you had more in common with Lenora and her folks than people thought. This also gave you time with arvin on a personal level, he liked you since the minute he saw you, he felt what his daddy felt when he saw his momma.
“Now come on, lenora wont mind, if anything she will be happy we got together,” arvin said as you walked along the sidewalk reading your book, “oh arvin you are such a tease, you do realize when she sees us together she seeing those damn bells ringing,” you smirked as he smiled, “oh honey you ain't seen nothin yet, you will hear those bells ringing i will be marrying you,” which made you look up, “you are one crazy boy,” he said placing a kiss on your cheek, “only for you sweetheart,”
When Lenora killed herself, you found her in the closet looking for her, she wasn't feeling too good for church so you brought her medicine to feel all better, “now where could she be? Lenora! Girl, where are you-” you opened the door and saw her hanging by the rope, your heart was clenching and it only took you a moment to react, “Oh my…Arvin! Help! Please!” you repeated over and over, arvin ran as quick as he could and saw you screaming for his sister, took him a moment to react too and help you get her off the rope. All you remember was there was so much screaming. Lenora was the last person you would think to do this.
Which leads you to where you are now, you and arvin got married even after everything that happened to arvin you stuck with him. You two both had terrible lives, but now you were given the chance to live the way you deserved after everything. In a new town where no one knew yall. You bought a house together and worked jobs for the time being and just saw how life would treat you.
You weren't feeling too good lately so you called out of work for a couple days, “you sure you're feeling good? Why don't I take you to the doctor, even better call him here hon,” you nodded, “im okay it's probably the flu arv, just go to work, i'll call you if anything happens, yeah?” you assured him as he nodded, he kissed you goodbye and headed to work hoping you were okay. He hated when you got sick he worried so much it had reminded him of his momma and especially Lenora. He knew you were not capable of doing such, but being sick just reminded him of awful memories.
He hurried on home with some medicine and some soup hoping it made you feel better, he walked in and started calling your name, “y/n honey i got some soup and some stuff that will-” he was cut off seeing you laid out on the floor, he was quickly to panic trying to wake you up as you got out of the state you were in, “arvin, what happened,” you said looking around your surrounding seeing you had been on the ground, “you were just on the ground like you was dead, what- did someone do something? What happend?” he said, still quite panicked, " I was just getting water, that's it,” you said as he picked you up and he called the doctor.
The doctor ran all the tests insisted by arvin wanting to make sure everything was okay, once the doctor walked toward arvin he was quick to stand, the news he had just heard was far from his mind than anything he expected.
He walked back to your room as you sat in bed reading your book, once you saw Arvin you were quick to put it down, “so? What is it arvin? Do we have to start praying,” you stood up as he was quick to hold you sitting you down, “no honey, well maybe, it's all good were havin a baby,” he spat very happy, “you serious, oh my arvin, were havin a baby, oh arv,” you said tearing up, “hey hey, it's all good news, i married you for a reason, i ain't going nowhere, we are havin this baby,” he said as you looked over at him as you shook your head, “oh arv it's nothing like that, it's just…lenora, she would be here,” you said as he hugged you, “i know honey, but hey, if we have a girl we can name her lenora,” you nodded very happy, “we can oh god we can,” you both were over the moon and emotional all in the same boat not wanting this moment to be over. You worked so hard to be where you are, you were both thanking god, even arvin.

ALL THE RIGHT PLACES arvin russell x f!reader — angst, smut 2130 words
Tumblr media
“i just wish i could forget.”
his calloused hands palmed at her forearms as if to grasp onto what little bit of anchor he had left. her fingers wove through his tendrils of dark umber, the opposite soothing over the back of his denim jacket, lips ghosting over his swollen cheeks, skin sticky with the remnants of salty tears. her shoulder was warm, damp with the diamonds falling from his sockets, her back cool against the car door behind her.
raindrops pounded against the roof of his car, mother nature’s cacophony intruding into their shared moment, not contributing to the easing of his mind. he held her closer, tightened his grip around her as if to hold her together, as if he were afraid she’d fall apart if he let her slip away from his clutches--
-- just like his little lenora.
 “i know darling, i know.”
he loved her voice. he loved her ability to soothe and serenade him with nothing but a few words. her soft voice was like a symphony, a sweet song of a siren. it was enough to lull him into slumber, enough to ease the tension within his head.
but even now, even though that sweet, sweet voice of hers whispered such gentle words into his ear, he knew that nothing she could ever even think to say would ever bring his little sister back. nothing.
she knew this. she knew it all too well.
which was why she decided to hold him even tighter.
“if i had known what that damn preacher had been up to in the first place, she wouldn’t have ever done the thing she did,” he murmured into her skin, fingernails scratching at the fabric of her dress, squeezing her even tighter than before. her palm reached for his cheeks, pulling away just enough to peer into murky irises, an expression she hadn’t seen upon arvin’s face much.
she loathed it. she wished to never see him like this again.
“there weren’t no way you coulda changed her way of mind,” she whispered, the pads of her thumbs mapping out the trails of his tears, wiping them away, allowing him to relax into her touch. his fingers locked around her wrist to keep her hands in place, afraid to lose the feeling of her skin on his. “you did everything you coulda ever possibly done for little lenora.”
 “and it wasn’t enough.”
arvin slumped against the back of the car seat, eyes cowering to the floorboard below their feet, fingernails picking at the denim of his blue jeans. she watched him, watched as he went numb before her very own eyes. she wasn’t sure if it was even better this way, for him to feel nothing at all.
nevertheless, she shook her head, her hand reaching for his as she scooted closer to him, her lips enveloping his. this time, she didn’t plan to let go.
his hand reached for the back of her neck, holding her in place, fingers pressing dots into her skin. he made certain that she would never let go.
the feeling of losing something frightened arvin. whether it was something as minor as a pen or as major as his beloved little sister, he treated it all just the same. he couldn’t afford to lose anything else, he couldn’t afford to lose her, anyone but the girl whose lips were moulded into his.
he didn’t want this feeling to go away. he didn’t want the feeling of being encased in her warm haven to ever leave, he didn’t want the feeling of his lips against someone special to go away. he won’t allow it, he can’t allow it, he would never be able to live with himself if he did.
her soft whimpers against his lips made his belly feel warm, the flame that she had ignited deep within him raging, growing stronger and stronger until it enveloped him completely. he couldn’t stand it any longer, all he needed was more. he wanted to be selfish, he wanted to love her with reckless abandon, to break her over and over again just so he could be the one to pick up her broken pieces, to be the one to put her back together over and over again.
“please darling,” he husked as her kisses trailed down the side of his face, the tip of his tongue tracing his jawline, her hands gripping the sleeves of his jacket. his eyelids fluttered themselves closed, chest heaving into hers and for a moment, he was calm— his mind had been erased so that nothing remained but the idea of her. his heart pounded recklessly, his cheeks searing with scarlet flame, fingernails etching crescent moons into her upper arms. “need to feel you, need more of you.”
he pulled her into his lap, either one of her legs straddling his hips, his fingers working at the buttons of her dress, slipping the thin material down her shoulders until it looked at their thighs. their lips were one, their lips were refusing to let go. her hands were slow but eager, his denim jacket being pulled down his arms by the hands he treasured so damn much. he reached for them, reached for the feeling of her soft hands, the ones that would tangle themselves up in his hair, the ones that would soothe over his skin whenever he needed it the most, that would hold him, hold him even when knowing that his own were as sinful as the devil himself.
her hands touched all the right places, every sweet spot of his body, every sensitive part of his skin, everywhere he needed warmth. she was always there, she would always be there. she wouldn’t ever leave him, not for a million years, not even for all the riches the world had to offer.
he knew this. he believed this.
he didn’t want to believe in anything else.
his hands found her breasts, calloused palms rubbing over her erect nipples, his jaw hanging open as her hips ground against his, adding the extra friction he craved so bad. their skin stuck together due to their sweat, flesh sticky with salty liquid. her soft mewls permeated his car, his hands gripping at her hips, thrusting into them to match her tempo.
“arv,” she moaned into his lips, the tip of her tongue prodding against his, beckoning for entrance. saliva bridged the soft patty of flesh inside of their mouths together as they pulled away for a brief second, working at discarding their bodies of their undergarments.
he watched as she pulled her panties away from her throbbing cunt, pretty pink folds glistening just for him, the cloth pooling at her ankles before she tugged them off completely. he shifted around underneath her, thumbs curling around the hem of his jeans to tug them along with his underwear down. she stood up to allow this, her lips curving up into a small smile as their irises locked once more, and this time, their gaze would never be broken.
the tips of his middle and forefinger traced a line over the outskirts of her arousal, gathering her sweet nectar onto his digits. she shuddered at this, fingers tugging at the roots of hair at his scalp as her jaw quivered at the feeling. his name emitted from her lips whilst he teased her entrance, massaging her folds, lips locking onto the sweet spot of her neck.
“shit, arv!” she exclaimed once his fingers had sunken in, her gaze locked on his warm, warmer than ever. her fingernails burrowed into the flesh of his shoulder, her opposite hand working at his hardened cock, his teeth pinching his bottom lip. threads of curses spewed from either of their lips, his digits pumping in and out of her dripping cunt, preparing her for his cock.
“i love when you call my name like that,” he murmured into her skin, fingers prying away from her pussy, wrapping around his erect length instead. his teeth sunk into the flesh of his inner cheek whilst she steadied herself, lips teasing at his, peppering chaste kisses onto his flesh. “makes me feel like i’m worth somethin’.”
she pondered this, mind doing its best to decipher what he would have possibly meant by this. she didn’t have much time to in the moment, and she didn’t particularly want to. this moment wasn’t about her after all, it was about him, about treasuring him for what he was really worth, about picking up his scraps. she wouldn’t allow herself to be selfish right now, she couldn’t.
“you can have me, arv,” she purred into his ear, hand hovering over his as he pumped himself, his ravines of deep umber swimming through her own, forehead leaning into his. “you can have my everything, now and forever.”
she always knew the right thing to say. this was another thing he admired about her, he loved that she knew exactly what to say and when to say it. she always came in at the right time, all the time.
arvin palmed her ass, teeth etching their mark onto her shoulders, guiding her hips down onto his. she mewled into his skin, his name emitting from her lips, her lewd noises imbuing the vehicle. the rain pounded even harder against the roof of the car, a veil on each window.
it was solely them, them in their own little haven. he liked it this way, even if it could only be for just a little bit. he relished it, he never wanted to let this moment go.
he hissed at the feeling of her cunt enveloping his cock, his head throwing itself backwards, neck craning over the top of the seat. his fingertips pressed into her hips, her fingernails scratching marks along the mountains of his shoulders.
“oh fuck,” he cursed, sucking in air between the crevices of his teeth. her body quaked above him, bones rattling and muscles spasming at the feeling of being filled up so well, fingernails making their territory known all across his skin as if he were her canvas. arvin’s hand made its ascent up the side of her body, fingertips tracing each and every curve along the way up to her tresses, massaging her scalp all whilst tugging on her roots. “always feel so damn good. so damn pretty.”
she didn’t want this moment to end. it was perfect— just her and him and the rain. she never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave him, his car, never.
his cock hit places within her that had never been reached by anyone before, made her feel things she knew she’d only feel with arvin. she tugged him in closer, arms wrapped around his neck, his lips pressing eager kisses onto her breasts. fog joined the raindrops on the car windows, sweat beading down either of their faces.
“i love you,” arvin purred into her chest, head throwing back once more, his high nothing but a mere few strokes away. her legs trembled over his thighs, her cries permeating the small car, hips bouncing up and down in the rhythm of his thrusts. her lips curved upwards at this however, palm caressing his cheek as she prepared herself for climax. “fuck! i love you so much, darling. ain’t ever gonna stop lovin’ you.”
“never, arvin,” she panted, his hands gripping onto her hips, slamming her onto his cock one last final time. their heads lolled backwards, mouths peeling open for the proof of their climax to emit, bodies twitching against the other’s. “i ain’t ever gonna leave you. you don’t have nothing to worry about, honey.”
his hand reached for the back of her neck, pulling her in closer, lips moulding together, becoming one like he’d always dream about. he loved this, loved the connection they had whether it be physical or mental. he loved that she loved him no matter what he had ever done or will ever do.
 he felt accepted.
she knew that even this moment was temporary. nothing, not even this, would be able to amount to the pain that arvin would feel in the morning. all the pleasure in the world would never stop grief. no matter how much time she’d spend with him, no matter how much time she’d love him, he’ll always still miss his little lenora.
and it was okay. she would never try and stop her lover from missing his own little sister. all she could do was try her best to halt the pain at least momentarily, to keep him occupied, to keep him at least temporarily happy. she would do this all the time, and she— at least— hoped that it was enough for him.
 and it was.

Just Like The Ones I Used To Know
Pairing: Arvin Russel x Reader
Synopsis: you and Arvin celebrate your first Christmas together despite Arvins reluctance
Masterlist
Tumblr media
“You’re home!” You cheered as Arvin trudged through the snow covering your driveway.
“I am home.” Arvin chuckled in confusion. “What are you doing out here, doll? It’s freezing.”
“I’m building a snowman.” You said as you stepped to the side to proudly present the snowman you’d been building.
“A snow what?”
“A snow man. Haven’t you seen one?”
“You mean that creepy little lumpy thing the Wickerson boys built on their lawn?” Arvin asked as he rubbed his hands together to warm them.
“It’s not creepy. It’s a holiday tradition for when it snows.” You laughed and packed some more snow onto your snowman.
“How do make it look like that?” Arvin wondered as you rounded off the sides of the body.
“Go put on a better jacket and I’ll show you.” You winked at him, sending a flush through Arvins face. He leaned in to kiss you hello before going inside to get his thickest jacket. When he came back out to the lawn, you threw a snowball that hit him in the chest.
“What was that?” Arvin looked down at his jacket in confusion.
“Um…a snowball?” You laughed at his confusion.
“Oh. How do you do it?” Arvin wondered.
“Just grab some snow and mash it together until it’s a ball.” You explained as you formed another snowball. Arvin watched carefully and copied your movement before holding up a snowball of his own.
“Like this?”
“That’s perfect. Then you can throw it-“
You were cut off by Arvin decking you in the face with his snowball. You fell backwards and fell into the snow as your legs flew up in the air.
“Oh my God! Baby! I’m so sorry.” Arvin gasped and ran to help you up. You laughed as he pulled you out of the snow and brushed the snow off of your face.
“I’m okay. I’m great, actually. Because you just had your first snowball fight.”
“It was fun.” Arvin smiled now that he knew you were okay.
“I’m glad you liked it. Now come on. Help me with the snowman.” You tugged on his sleeve and pulled him over to your snow man. Together, you added the middle and head to your snowman so that it was nice and tall. You watched Arvins face light up with joy as he built the snowman and as happy as it made you to see him smiling, it also made you sad. You knew this was probably the first time he’d ever built a snowman and wondered how many other happy Christmas memories he had missed out on. You made sure to let him do the most of the building of the snowman so that he could get the full experience.
“I think he looks pretty good.” You said as you picked up a small wooden box from the ground. The words “snowman kit” were painted on the box in your handwriting.
“Why do you have coal?” Arvin wondered.
“For the snowman. He needs his eyes, smile, hat, and nose.” You explained as you placed the eyes and mouth on the snowman’s head. You handed the top hat from the to Arvin so that he could add it on top.
“Wait, wheres the nose?” Arvin asked and looked in the snowman kit box.
“This is the nose.” You smiled in excitement and pulled a carrot out of your pocket.
“This is a carrot.” Arvin deadpanned.
“Yes. But it’s also a nose.” You booped Arvins nose with the carrot before putting it in the center of the snowman’s face. You then took your scarf from around your neck and wrapped it around the snowman’s head.
“There. He’s perfect.” You said and stepped back to look at the snowman. Arvin stepped back as well and wrapped an arm around you to admire your work together.
“He’s a little funny looking.” Arvin chuckled, making you laugh as well.
“I know. That’s why he’s perfect.” You smiled and wrapped your arms around Arvins torso. He hugged you tightly as snow began to fall down and stick to your nose and eyelashes. He didn’t know why, but he felt oddly emotional as he stared at the snowman. He’d always wanted to build one as a kid but his parents were never well or willing enough to do it will him. Now that he had finally done it, he felt his inner child gleaming with pride.
“So what do we do now?” Arvin smiled and looked down at you.
“Now we drink hot chocolate and eat the cookies.”
“What cookies?”
“The ones I put on the oven before you got home. Come on. They’re probably ready by now.” You grabbed his hand and pulled Arvin inside. You shed your coats and gloves before going into the kitchen to check on the cookies.
“Oh no. They’re ugly.” You frowned when you pulled your cookies out of the oven.
“They’re not ugly, darling. They’re just a little misshapen.” Arvin quickly assured you when he noticed that you were genuinely upset.
“This one looks like a turd.” You said quietly and pointed to a cookie.
“Yes, it does. But I bet it tastes delicious.” Arvin said and took the cookie off the tray. He blew on it before taking a bite. You watched Arvins face lose all its color once he tasted the cookie and he looked at it in disbelief.
“What? Is it bad?” You worried.
“Is this snickerdoodle?” He asked with a mouth full of cookies.
“Yeah. I found a recipe in one of the old cook books.”
“The recipe on the purple index card?”
“Yeah. How’d you know?”
“That was my mommas recipe. She used to make these when I was little. Made em every Christmas.” Arvin smiled a little as he looked down at the cookie. He took another bite and could practically hear his mom humming while she baked cookies.
“Does it taste the same?” You asked hopefully.
“It does. Wow, darling, biting into that made me feel like a little boy again.” Arvin said before finishing his cookie. He kissed the side of you head before taking another one.
“Aw. Arvy warvy.” You gushed and wrapped your arms around him.
“Told you not to call me that.” He chuckled and swayed with you in his arms.
“Then what am I supposed to call you?”
“My name, maybe.” He teased.
“Where’s the fun in that?” You teased back and took a cookie for yourself.
“Thanks for making cookies, darling. And for letting me help with the snowman. I had a lot of fun.” Arvin said in a soft voice as he looked down at you.
“Of course, Arvie. I’m glad you helped me. I like doing Christmassy things with you.”
“I know I haven’t been very festive this Christmas, doll. And I’m sorry about that. This time of year just makes me a little sad.” Arvin admitted as he cupped your face in his rough hands.
“You don’t have to apologize, honey. I know Christmas makes you miss your momma. It makes me miss my folks too. But Christmas is a time to remember happier times. And if you’re up for it, I made of list of things we could do to remind us of the reason for the season. After all, it’s our first Christmas together so I want it to be special.“ You said as you took a folded up piece of paper out of your pocket. You handed it to Arvin and held your breath as he read over it.
“Hang our stockings by the chimney with care? The hell does that mean?” He chuckled. You let out an excited squeal before running into the living room. When you came back, you had a stocking that you had knitted for Arvin as an early Christmas gift.
“Look! I made you one. It has an A on it so Santa knows it’s yours.” You said proudly as you handed Arvin his stocking.
“Darling, Santa isn’t-“
“Shhhh! He’ll hear you.” You quickly hushed him.
“Right. Sorry.” Arvin chuckled and shook his head with affection.
“Come on. Let’s hang them up.” You said as you pulled Arvin by the hand into the living room. He put the radio on the holiday channel and lit the fireplace while you hung up your stockings.
“See? Doesn’t that look so much better?” You asked once you stepped back to admire your work.
“It looks great, darling. Santa will love them.” Arvin humored you. You playfully rolled your eyes at him before wrapping him in another hug. You swayed to the music for a while until your tiny little Christmas tree caught Arvins eye. You can taken a tiny tree from the backyard and decorated it with as many ornaments as it could hold to serve as your Christmas tree. Arvin felt guilty for having a real tree for you and felt deterred to fix that.
The next day, Arvin stopped by the Christmas tree farm and picked out the biggest tree he could find. He got home before you did and quickly set it up in the living room. Just as he started to put ornaments on it, you came home.
“Oh, hey. Welcome home, darlin.” Arvin said when you came into the living room. You were staring at the tree in awe for a minute until a childlike smile broke out in your face.
“You got us a Christmas tree? A real one?” You gasped and reached out to touch the pine needles.
“Well it’s our first Christmas together. It needs to be special.” Arvin echoed your words from the day before.
“But how? It’s Christmas Eve.”
“I love it. It’s beautiful!” You gushed and jumped into Arvins arms to thank him. He hugged you back before handing you a box of ornaments.
“Want to help me decorate it?”
“I would love nothing more.” You gushed and accepted the box. You and Arvin spent the evening decorating the tree together and taking occasionally taking breaks to drink the hot chocolate Arvin had made. You looked over at Arvin every so often to make sure that he was having a good time. When you saw the childlike smile on his face, you felt at peace.
Just a week and a half later, it was Christmas Eve. You and Arvin spent the evening on front of the fireplace with your warmest blanket draped over your legs. You admired your Christmas tree as you told Arvin about all your favorite childhood Christmas memories.
“Do you really believe in Santa?” Arvin asked as he stared at the crackling fire place. You smiled softly and out a happy sigh.
“I do. I believe that the whole season is magic. The lights and the cookies and the snow - it’s all so magical. And that magic has to come from somewhere. So even if there is no jolly old man in a red suit coming down our chimney, I believe he’s out there somewhere granting wishes and making miracles. Something about Christmas makes me feel like anything is possible. And I think as long as I believe in Santa, all my Christmas wishes will come true.”
“What are you Christmas wishes this year?” He looked down at you with a soft smile.
“This. Being here at home in front of the fireplace with somebody who loves me. I asked for that every year. And this year, Santa gave it to me.” You said as you rested your head on Arvins shoulder.
“You think Santa brought us together?” He chuckled.
“I know you think it’s silly-“
“No. I don’t.” He assured you. “It’s a miracle a pretty lady like you ever looked my way. A Christmas miracle, even. It was snowing the first time we met, remember?”
“I do. You helped me get my car to start.” You smiled at the memory.
“Good thing I saw you in that storm. You could’ve frozen to death.”
“Uh huh. But I didn’t because of the kindness of a stranger.” You sighed happily and snuggled into Arvins side.
“I wasn’t even gonna go out that night. Something told me I had to, though.”
“Not something.” You corrected. “Someone. Jolly old Saint Nick.”
“Right. Must’ve been.” He laughed shyly and pulled you closer.
“What did you ask for this year, Arvy Warvy?” You asked as you looked up at him.
“I can’t tell you. If I tell you my wish, it won’t come true.” Arvin said with a cheeky smile.
“Hopefully you were a good boy this year. Santa just may have granted your wish.” You said through a yawn. You fell asleep on Arvins shoulder within a few minutes and Arvin carried you to your bed.
On Christmas morning, Arvin rubbed the sleep out of his eyes while you excitedly tugged him into your living room.
“Come on! You have to see what Santa brought you!” You grinned as you handed Arvin his first gift. Arvin chuckled and accepted the gift before kissing the side of your head. You clasped your hands under your chin and watched with excitement as Arvin tore off the wrapping paper. Inside was a shiny red tool box with brand new tools inside.
“Aw, thank you darlin. I love it. It’s perfect.” He smiled before leaning in to kiss you.
“You’re very welcome.” You smiled when you pulled out of the kiss.
“Got something for you as well.” Arvin said as he sheepishly pulled out a small, poorly wrapped package.
“Aw, arvie. What’s this?” You asked as you tore it open. Inside was a small jewelry box. You looked up at him before opened up the box. Inside was a delicate heart shaped locket that looked like Arvin had made himself. You gasped softly and opened the locket up to find a picture of the two of you.
“One of the boys at work said he knew how to work metal. I asked him to show me how to make that for you.” Arvin sheepishly admitted as he secretly hoped you loved it.
“Oh, Arvin.” You said softly as you looked up at him. He gave you a shy smile before looking down at his lap.
“I’m sorry I can’t afford real jewelry with diamonds and pearls and all that because that’s what a girl like you deserves. I’ll be able to afford it one day. And then I’ll replace this hete necklace with a real one.” Arvin promised you.
“Nuh uh. This is a real necklace. And I love it more than anything you could buy in a store. It’s beautiful, Arvin. I love it.” You assured him.
“Do ya really?” He asked hopefully.
“Of course I do. Help me put it on.” You requested and turned around. You held your hair up as Arvin fastened the necklace around your neck. Once it was one, you looked down to admire it.
“It’s even better when it’s on. Thank you, Arvie. It’s the best gift I ever got.” You said as you threw your arms around Arvin. Arvin hugged you back for a long time, internally ecstatic that you liked his gift.
“I think Santa left a little something in your stocking too.” You said once you pulled out of the hug.
In his stocking, you had slipped in a brand new lighter, a pack of cigarettes, some baseball cards, and a candy cane.
“Wow. Santa was really nice to me this year.” Arvin chuckled as he lit up a cigarette with his new lighter.
“You must’ve been a real good boy.” You coyly shrugged.
“Thank you, darlin. This may be my best Christmas yet.” Arvin thanked you again, feeling like he could never thank you enough.
“This Christmas ain’t done yet. There’s one more gift Santa left you.” You told him as you went to get a present you had hidden behind the tree. Arvin looked at your curiously as you handed him a square shaped present. He unwrapped it and found an old photo album inside.
“A photo album?” He asked you.
“I found it in the attic that time we went to visit your Uncle Erskill. He said I could keep it.” You explained as Arvin began to flip through the pages. Each page was filled with picture after picture of him as a kid with his parents. He relived memories he had completely forgotten about with each page he turned.
“Said it was your mommas.” You added in a soft voice. Arvin teared up as he flipped to the last page, which had a picture of his mom holding him in front of a Christmas tree. The next page was blank, giving Arvin an idea.
“You still got that Polaroid camera?” He asked you.
“I do. Why?” You wondered as you pulled it out of a drawer. Arvin took the camera from you and brought you over to the mirror that hung in your living room.
“Here. Smile.” He instructed as he put an arm around you. You smiled at your reflection as Arvin snapped a picture. When it developed, there was a photo of the two of you looking on the mirror and smiling with your Christmas tree in the background.
“Aw. It’s the first ever picture of us.” You gushed and gently touched the picture.
“Let’s put it in the album so we can remember our first Christmas together.” Arvin suggested. You smiled happily as you helped him slide the picture into the last page of the photo album, right next to the picture of him and his mom.
“Did you get your wish this year, Arvie warvie?” You asked him as you rested your chin on his shoulder. Arvin looked at the pictures side by side and felt tears of happiness come to his eyes for the first time in his entire life.
“I sure did, darling.” He sighed happily. “I sure did.”

Your walking through the hallways after school to get to your locker, Arvin Russel normally picks you and his sister, Lenora up but running late because of work.
As you collect your books into your bag, it seems strange because usually Lenora comes running at you beaming with some particular interest of hers.
Maybe she had to go to the bathroom? Or left something in a classroom? That girl is awfully forgetful with her belongings you thought giggling.
Meanwhile, Lenora had some trouble on her hands as usual (a group of no good sons of Bitches as Arvin likes to call them) decided that it was a great idea to bully an innocent girl.
Lenora is sweet and kind, humble at what she has got. You don’t need no big, fancy things when you got a lot of love in the house. Unfortunately, people normally stay away from her because apparently rumour has it, she is a curse.
That is a far from the truth that is why, when you came to town you immediately, friends with the sweet girl! Thinking so much of her, being best friends is great. Especially when you help each other out and talk all day.
“Oh, look who it is boys,” Tommy Matson smirked, he stood from leaning to walking over to Lenora, “Hey, pretty girl,” he teased.
“Disgusting, don’t call me that from your vile mouth,” Lenora whispers the last part, too shy to stand up to her bullies.
“Walking away, are we?” Tommy whistles, “You know you would be pretty, if you weren’t such a freak!” He slams his hand against a garbage can, making Lenora scared she tryed to run off but it was no use.
“Get off me,” Lenora screeched, kicking her legs at the boy, “What is your momma going to say?”
Tommy, still holding her wrist, “hurts, let go!” Lenora whimpers at his strong grip.
“My momma ain’t gonna say shit, I don’t need to answer to you!” Tommy scowled, pulling her closer to his face to hush in her face, “hush now because Your a freak,”
“Properly made a pack with the devil,” Another boy joked, all his “friends” laughing along.
Just as things could be more abusive, you come rushing out the doors. You was looking around where Lenora could of been because your worried at how you haven’t seen her yet.
You gasped, as you open the large, brown doors to see stupid Tommy bullying her with other boys.
“Hey, get off her! You no good son of a bitch,” You storm your way over, Tommy didn’t even have a chance to speak before you grabbed his wrist from Lenora’s, “You don’t touch her, You should know better with that dumb brain of yours!”
“Y/N, another pretty girl! Why hang around with that freak if you can have all this,” Tommy explained trying to flirt, smirking.
you ignored him scoffing, kicking his knee. He dropped on the floor as he cried out.
“You slut, you will pay for this,” He shouted, pointing at you.
Paying your attention to the frighten Lenora, poor girl you step closer to her. “Come, let’s get out of here before they try something worse.” You whisper, as Tommy is dumbfounded by his so called “friends” laughing at him.
You and Lenora try to make a run for it without them noticing it but luck isn’t on your side today.
“You got your ass kicked by a girl,” Billy laughed, Chucky coming up behind him slapping Tommy’s back, “Yh, you definitely did! It was hilarious,”
“Hey, they’re trying to run away!” Billy told, “Well, what are you waiting for! Get them, you Idiots,” Tommy, grumbled out very loudly getting up as quick as he can.
“Lenora, it’s going to be ok! Let’s just keep running,” You tried to comfort her, she had a few tears in her eyes, until you feel a boy grab your wrist pushing you on the floor.
“Thinking you can get away from me, S/N,” Tommy tutted, Lenora wrists were grabbed by Billy and Chuck, “Yh we got you now!”
You quickly, stood up Tommy grabbed your waist squeezing it. Most likely leaving a mark of his attack, “Let go, or else!” You threatened hissing at him and the pain, looking pasted his head to see Lenora being pushed around by the other two boys.
You had to help Lenora so you had to be strong, plan this out carefully. “What is a weak girl like you? Going to do to me, HUH?” he chuckled, throwing you back to the floor. You hissed at your side, probably going to leave another bruise.
“A lot more than you think, you bitch!” You grunted, Tommy was going to make his way over to Lenora. You hopped on your feet again, running right into Him and pushing him really hard on the floor.
You grabbed Billy yanking him on the floor too, with a big crash sound of dirt. “Ow, you Bitch,”
Chuck being a pussy, running off in the other direction just before you had time to yank him on the floor. You may be in pain but you had to help Lenora out, first!
“Oh, My! Are you ok,” You help Lenora up, her knee was a bit bruised, “Yh, I’m fine thanks,”
“Oh, for fuck sake!” You see Tommy standing up, “Lenora you need to run, right now! I don’t care about me, I’ll handle him but RUN!” You look her in the eye, deadly serious.
Luckily, Billy is still on the ground yelping. Lenora nodded and ran, seeing Arvin’s car just about to pull up.
You quickly, grabbed Tommy’s fist that he was about to punch you with. You kick him in the stomach, taking off your bag and swinging it so that as it hits him he falls down, you fell down too hitting your knee.
“Son of a bitch,” you mumble.
seeing Tommy hovering over on the floor, you grab your bag and make a run for it with your bleeding knee. You couldn’t really see it because of your tights but you could definitely feel the blood trickling down.
Running for her dear life to her brother’s car, Arvin let out smoke from his mouth. Having Scolding hot, mean face on him as he sees Lenora running and You right behind her.
“Fuck,” Arvin let go as Lenora opened the back door, breathing heavily, “Are you ok, what happened!” He questioned just as you got in with her too.
“Never mind that just drive, Arvin,” You breathed out, looking at Tommy still on the floor but mostly going to move any moment.
Arvin actually listened Stepping on the Gas, “I bet it’s those no good sons of bitches isn’t it?” He scowled as he drags his cigarette out.
“Lenora,” You whisper, “it’s ok, they are gone!” You comforted her as she leans into you for a hug, “Yh, but we are fine! I hope,” you talking to Arvin pausing to think, “They we’re bullying Lenora. I stepped in to help her,”
“Yh, without Y/N I properly be beaten up,” Lenora whimpers out of fear, “Thank you,” she whispers, with tears in her eyes again giving you a small smile.
“It’s ok, no need to say thank you! Lenora, I’m your best friend, friends are there to protect friends!” You smile at her, she giggles, “Yh your the best!”
“Hush, I’m not that great! Your better,” You wink teasing her, lightening up the mood.
“Tch, those no good Hillbilly’s I’ll get the lot of them! They think it’s alright to bully people, especially women!” Arvin muttered, mostly to himself gripping the wheel tighter but you heard it giving him a sweet, toothy smile.
Arvin Russel the boy who was they call a devil, apparently cursed too! He acted tough but actually he had a sweet spot for you and his sister. That is all he ever want in life, to protect you and her.
“I appreciate you looking out for Lenora, Y/N,” Arvin actually gives you a smile, it was sweet never seen before to you until today. He admired you from a far, since the first time you protected his sister, he admires you more always.
“It was no, big deal Arvin,” You shyly said, putting your hair behind your ear, he nodded adjusting his cap.
“Why are you shy now! Mm,” Lenora shifted her shoulders towards you as she teases, “You had no trouble speaking clearly to those bullies, unless…”
You squinted your eyes at her, luckily Arvin isn’t taking any notice of her attics towards you.
“Lenora, no,” You hissed at her to cover up the pain you was in because you couldn’t say you were in pain.
“Well, I’m just telling! I can see it,” Lenora takes her hand, pointing to Arvin. You take her hand down and slapped your forehead, “Are you gonna stop, if I admit it?” You questioned, giggling.
Your side really hurts but you can’t let them know because that’s embarrassing. The bully threw you a bit too hard on the floor as you hoped.
“Maybe,” Lenora smirked, waving as she wiggles her fingers, “Oh, my right well change of subject! Are you hurt anywhere?”
Arvin pulled up at their drive way, going take you home after dropping off Lenora is the usual plan after school.
“My side hurts a bit,” You nodded, “Oh, I remember I packed cool patches,” you give a couple of Lenora, “Here, for your side,” You smile.
“Thanks, wouldn’t know what I do without you,” Lenora smiled back, “Are you hurt too?” She worried about you too? You thought, how sweet! “No, no, it’s fine I’m not,” You smile hiding the pain, you could just clean yourself up after you get home anyway.
“I’m honestly ok, now you rested up poppet over the weekend,” You lie as you smile, hugging her a good bye as she waved getting out the car, “bye,” Lenora waved at Arvin too, one last time going into her house.
It’s easier if people don’t know your in the pain, you had to learn that the hard way in the past few years of living in the other town.
You breathed out slowly as you feel slightly dizzy, nothing much out of the ordinary you suppose.
You wonder why Arvin hasn’t started the car back up as you open your eyes you see Arvin right next to you on the back seat.
He is looking at you, there is something in his eyes.. worry? Maybe, I doubt it you thought.
“Hey, Are you ok? Darlin’,” Arvin softly asked, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you love,”
How did you not hear the door going? On the car as he left the front to the back. You must of been so hazy, only focusing on Arvin now.
You take a deep breath “I’m ok,” you shakily whispered, gulping as your heart beat going faster of how Arvin is so close to you.
Your lips could actually meet!
“No, please don’t lie, sweetheart,” Arvin shook is head, taking your soft hand into his slightly rough yet soft one making your breath hitch at the sudden contact, “A pretty girl like you shouldn’t have to hide their true feelings and I can tell you got hurt, Darlin’,”
You sigh looking up into Arvin’s chocolate, warm brown eyes they were normally, cold full of dark tones of brown.
“Your eyes are gorgeous,” You stutter, blinking tilting your head.
“Not as gorgeous as yours, Pretty girl!” He winks, Pretty girl came much better from his perfect, soft lips.
“May I,” Arvin asked suggesting to touch you, “yes,” you nodded, almost forgetting the pain.
Arvin brushes your hair behind your ear, cupping your jaw gently into his hand as he brings your face closer to his.
“You need help, I’m going to help you! Not only you protected my sister, your strong and beautiful girl, who I want to get to know because I already…” He cuts himself off, looking the other way as he ruffles his hair stilling holding your jaw gently.
You reached out your hand cupping his jaw gentle, making him look into you this time. Bringing him closer, you heard his breath hitch just like yours a moment ago.
“Arvin, you already what?” You whisper, giving a curious look to him, you lick your lips, “Fine, I will let you help me but what is it your going to say?” You gave him a real, genuine smile this time.
“I, I love you, Y/N,” Arvin smiled, “Please let me help you,” You can’t believe what your hearing, the boy that you been crushing on since you moved in town just confessed his feelings.
You are quite starstruck completely forgetting about your bruise sides or your bleeding knee. Never the less, you pull him into a sweet kiss to answer his question.
“I love you too, Arvin,” You look into his eyes again, smiling. He kisses you with his soft, delicious lips again drifting off into the clouds.
“I think we should go into the house and clean you up, Darlin’,” He whispers through kisses, you nod.
Arvin gets out of his car, opening your door and carefully standing you up. You wince at your side because of the bruises, they are quite fresh.
“It’s ok, love,” Arvin, steadies you as you stumble upon on your feet as you walk, “I got you, I got you,”
“Do you want me to lift you up? Sweetheart,” Arvin suggests, you shook your head, “I’m too heavy,” you mumble,
“No, your not love! Who put that stupid, crap into your head,” Arvin scoffed, “You are perfect, now please let me pick you up because you can hardly walk,”
You nod agreeing, Arvin wraps his arms around your waist to lift you up as you put your legs around him too.
“See not heavy,” He smiles, kissing your forehead.
You bury your head into the crook of his neck, smelling his delicious scent. Even if he has a hint of smokes on him, he still smells like vanilla and pine wood.
Luckily, Lenora is in her room and Arvin’s grandmother is in the kitchen too busy repairing dinner to hear the door going.
Arvin went upstairs with you, very quietly to make sure no one notice to keep things at least now private between you. He pop you down on his bed, “This is more comfortable than my bed,” you giggle, Arvin put your bag down near his draws.
“Oh is it?” Arvin nodded, “Im going to get the band aid kit for you love,” you nodded as he went. You sink down more into his bed, loving how soft it is, still your knee is bleeding but at least your getting a handsome guy to fix it.
Those pet names that Arvin gives you sends butterflies right down your stomach! Making you day dream to the clouds again, you look around his room. It’s actually pretty cosy, nice room to be in.
“Can you sit up, Darlin?” Arvin asked, closing the door, you nodded propping yourself up. You realised that you had tights on, “Can I take them off? To get to your knee, I can see it’s been bleeding under the material,” you loved how he explained himself, acting tough but in reality being shy around you.
“Yes, Arvin!” You smiled as he slides them off showing your bare legs, “This may sting love, you can squeeze my hand if it gets too much,” you take his other hand.
Your shirt rises a little bit, Just enough for Arvin to see your side bruises.
“Those god Damn Hillbilly’s are gonna be 12ft underground,” Arvin mumbles under his breath as he goes through the first aid box.
“Ouch,” you hiss, “Your doing so well, Darling” Arvin praised as he wipes your Graze with the aesthetic wipe.
Arvin places a plaster on your knee after he kisses it, “Do you feel better?” He asked, “Wait, you need a cooler pack for your bruises,” he remembered going back through the first aid box.
“Your too sweet,” You gasped at the coldness, “It’s cold,” You giggle, holding Arvin’s hand a bit tighter.
“Only sweet for you sweetheart,” Arvin winked at you, “I have something to ask you,”
“ok, shoot,” You smile, rubbing his hand looking into his eyes.
“Will you officially be my girl,” Arvin scratches the back of his neck, shyly as he asked you.
“Of course Arvin,” Arvin pulled you into a passionate kiss before you could say anything else, “Like sugar aren’t you!” You Smiled.
Arvin licks his lips, “Mm, not as much as you, Doll,” he stands up laying down on the bed with you.
“Thank you for cleaning me up,” You snuggle into him more as he wraps his arms around you, “Anytime, My love,” Arvin kisses your cheek, stroking your head.
“Sleep beautiful,” You hear him whisper into your ear as you drift off, too tired to keep your eyes open any longer.
Arvin pulls the covers over you, kissing you on the forehead just before he drifts off with you.

I strolled out of the school doors, a noticeable pep in my step. Arvin and I had gotten into a habit of joining Lenora down at the cemetery. During the lovely - but terribly awkward - family dinner I had gotten to know her better. She was a sweet girl.
And Arvin and I, we took the chance to see each other whenever possible. A month or so had passed since our first meeting, and we were still going steady. My heart still fluttered when he held my hand, and he was still mystified with everything going out of my mouth.
It was easy to be in love with a man like him.
I was so caught up in my daydreams, that while wrapping around the side of the school building to dispose of some of my school trash, I failed to notice the group of boys trailing after me.
I tossed the plastic bag of scraps and leftover food before wiping my hands on my pants. I hummed a happy little tune to myself before turning around, ready to head back.
But instead, anxiety washed over me instantly when I realized three lanky and robust boys had surrounded me only a few feet away. I took a step back, pressing myself against the side of the dumpster.
“Well, hello, boys,” I greeted, giggling nervously as my nails dug into the green plastic. “What can I do for you’s?”
“There’s a lot you can do for us,” the main bully, who was hovering but a foot in front of me, chuckled. “I’m feeling nice, so how about you give me a kiss?”
I heard his counterparts laugh impishly. Fear consumed me, and when he took a step closer, I pushed at his chest. However, he grabbed my wrists and pulled me forward. I lost my footing, my face colliding with his chest.
“Or, if you insist, we can take things further, whore.”
I let out a shriek of fear, trying to beat him. But just as I struggled free, the other two bullies grabbed two of my arms and pulled them out, leaving me to struggle in between them. “Please,” I begged. “I don’t know what you’re thinkin’, trying to violate me like this, but I swear I ain’t done nothing wrong to you’s.”
“Oh, but you did,” the bully in front of me hummed, grabbing my jaw hardly and making me face him, even though I kicked and squirmed. “On the contrary, whore,” he hissed. “You go prancing around like ya own the place. You refuse to go loving us poor boys that deserve a little touchin’. And that’s cute for a while, whore, but we’re getting tired.”
“Not to fuckin’ mention,” the one to my right interrupted, "you finally stop being such a prude and you go sucking that Russell boy’s dick when you owe us some of that pretty little mouth of yours.”
“ We - we ain’t done nothing but kissin’,” I insisted. “Don’t do anything, please. All I ask is that ya spare me. I ain’t doing nothin’ wrong, boys.”
The one in front of me didn’t look pleased. His grip became frighteningly strong, and I could’ve sworn I heard my jaw cracking. I let out another gasp of pain. He suddenly looked bored. He yanked me forward and tried kissing up on me. I wasn’t able to avoid it, but I kicked him in the groin suddenly.
I yanked my arms free, having caught all three of them off guard. I pushed past them and tried to make a run for it, but a hand grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back. I was about to scream, but a hand flew to my mouth, muffling my cries. The other two bullies, taking advantage of my cloddish movement, began tugging at my pants.
Tears stung the edges of my eyes as I flailed in the bully’s arm. My pants were pulled down, the clod wind hitting my bare legs. I knew I was burning red from shame as they greedily pawed at my legs.
“Let’s fuckin’ hurry this up,” the bully which was holding me gruffly demanded. “I’m too fuckin’ horny to be wastin’ more time.”
His minions chuckled cruelly. Fear coursed through my veins as one of their fingers looped into the side of my panties, about to pull down and reveal myself completely. I was trembling to the core, trying to wrangle myself free and escape, but I knew I was outnumbered.
The bully began to pull down —
A fist suddenly collided with his face. I shrieked as I tumbled on top of him, but I was quick to roll off and reach for my pants. The other two bullies shouted, turning their attention to my savior, embarrassment betraying their expressions.
I watched as someone - which I quickly identified as my Arvin - darted past me and tried punching another one of them, but the two overpowered him. The leader also scrambled to his feet and jerked him back by his collar, throwing him against the dumpster.
A screech escapade my lungs as I pulled up my pants, my attention on my poor Arvin, who was getting the shit kicked out of him. I dashed over, trying to pull one of the three’s shoulders, but they pushed me away. Once again I was sent sprawling on the ground, my hands chaffing against the pavement.
“Please, stop!” I screamed, watching as they kicked him to the ground.
Arvin’s face was a bloody mess as he rolled on the ground. The leader and his compadres laughed, finally stepping away. I trembled on the ground as they turned toward me. I shut my eyes, fearing for the worst.
But they walked right past me, only shooting a few final slurs my way.
I peered over my shoulder, seeing they had abandoned the scene. I crawled over to Arvin, who was still groaning and clutching his stomach. Blood slid down his nose and already there was a bruise developing around his eye.
I tired off a piece of my shirt and applied it to his nose. I cradled his head in my lap. “Blow,” I instructed shakily.
He coughed and did so, the rest of the blood spewing from his nose. I finished wiping it off and discarded it in the wind. Arvin coughed one more time, finally propping himself up on his elbows. There was a dominating fury in his eyes, even now, and I could tell he still wanted a piece of those bastards.
He finally sat up, to which I rose to my feet and offered a hand to pull him up, he took it, grunting as he finally stood. One arm was still hugging his waist and he ws hunched over in pain. I cupped his cheeks and placed a distressed kiss on his nose.
He chuckled dryly, pushing me away. His arm finally detached, and instead he cupped my cheeks. He wiped away my tears, to which I snorted up the snot back into my nose. Distress still consumed my every being.
“They’re not goin’ to stop,” I stated.
He sent me an impish, knowing grin. “Oh, they will,” he insisted. “My daddy taught me that it’s all about pickin’ the right time. And that wasn’t the right time. But no way in hell could I let them be touchin’ up on my woman.”
A small smile Ade its way to my face. I kissed the tip of his nose. “…I need to bandage you up. Your everything must be hurtin’ like hell.”
“Yeah, but Lenora’s waiting for us in the car and I have some shit I got ta do while you two are there,” he sighed.
My eyes widened. “But you never leave Lenora to herself.”
“I won’t be leaving her to herself. I’ll be leaving her with you.”
I nodded in agreement. I then slung a gentle arm around his waist and we started walking. Arvin had a slight limp, but I knew that was the least of his worries. We fell silent on the walk back to the car.
~~~
“What do ya mean you have somethin’ to do?” Lenora prodded with scrunched brows and a confused expression.
As the trheee of us stood outside the car, Lenora had taken her bible. She was about to visit her mother’s grave and I… well, I was hoping to meet with the priest. I’d been visiting behind Arvin’s back because the one time I mentioned it he was very against it. And I didn’t want to make him mad, even if I knew he had my best interest at heart, but I also longed to fix myself and only the priest could help me find God again.
“I meant what I said,” Arvin spoke tensely. “It’s something I can’t put off. You’ll be fine on your own, right? It’s just for one afternoon.”
Lenora bit her lip. I leaned against Arvin, one of his hands wrapped around my waist on instinct. We watched her intently, although for different reasons. “…I guess so. You’ve just… never done something like that before. Nothing’s wrong, right, brother?”
Arvin grinned reassuringly. “Nothin’ at all, Lenora. I just have some work I got ta get done, is all. I’ll be back to pick you two up later, don’t you worry.”
I giggled, pressing a loving kiss to his cheek. Lenora’s shoulders slumped as she caved. “…Right. That’s okay, Arvin. You go on and do what you have to do. I’m going to go talk to my mother now.”
Arvin detached from my side and wound around to the driver’s seat. I wanted to watch him go, but Lenora sped off toward her mother’s grave. I sent one last wave to the car before trailing after her. She didn’t seem upset. But with Lenora, I could never tell because of how much of a sweetheart she was.
I hovered behind her as she kneeled on the ground. She began skimming through her bible, finding where she left off. Mustering my courage, I tapped her shoulder. “Lenora?”
With doe eyes, she peered up at me. “Yes, Y/n?”
“I hate to be like Arvin, but I have something to do, too. I want to go see the priest.”
Instead of disappointment, her eyes sparkled and she clasped. Her hands together excitedly. “Really? Are you starting to go down the path of righteousness?”
I nodded. “I’m tryin’ like hell. I guess it’s alright with you, but… don’t tell Arvin. I know he doesn’t like the new priest at all.”
Lenora’s mouth twitched before fully forming into a frown. “…But lying is a sin, Y/n.”
“It’s not lying if I don’t tell him. Besides, I’ll let him know eventually. But I just need to be the one to let him know, not anyone else. So, on that note - it’s alright if I leave you here for a bit, right?”
Lenora nodded eagerly. “You’re right. Yes, go serve the Lord, Y/n. I’m proud of you.”
Courage fluttered in my chest and I nodded. I turned tail and began strolling toward the church. Even though I was trying to worship God and be more faithful, I knew that even I had a hard time understand why the priest was sitting in the church every day of the week, just waiting for people to stroll in. But I knew that was something to take advantage of.
I gently pushed the wooden door open. It squeaked, alerting the man in the pews of my entrance. When the young man spotted me, a boyish grin snuck up to his face.
“Y/n. I’m glad that you’ve decided to join me for a chat,” he greeted smoothly, sliding down the pew and motioning for me to join him.
I was surprised by his friendliness, and a smile graced my lips. I walked down the aisle until I was able to slide into the seat, my discomfort washing off me as my soul was flooded with the spirit. The priest reciprocated my joy, a handsome smile stretching across his features.
“What brings ya here on this fine Thursday? I sense something is wracking your soul,” he inquired.
I pursed my lips. “…Yes. I guess so. Today at school, these three boys tried to force lovin’ on me and I was so scared. My man, Arvin Russell, came and saves me, but the bullies hurt us both a lot. I’m still recoverin’.”
He pursed his lips, brows furrowing. He seemed caught off guard by that confession. “…That… that’s not your fault. The devil was in ‘em boys,” he conceded. “But you got ta clean your soul now. Only God’s touch can fix you of your filth.” He placed his hand on my leg, giving it a squeeze.
“But… why would I be dirty if I wasn’t at fault, sir?” I croaked, betrayal coursing through my veins.
“Because the devil used ‘em boys to sully your spirit. The devil has touched you, and only a man of god can cleanse your soul now.”
“But… I don’t mean to argue with you, sir, but why can’t I cleanse the devil myself?”
“As strong as God is with you, everyone needs help time to time,” he explained, his fingers ghosting further up my leg. “And now is when you need the help of God. Now, God can’t touch you. But a priest can, and a priest like me can cleanse you of the devil’s touch.”
“R - really?”
“Yes. But… it cannot be now.”
“Why not?”
“For the sake of pr - the spirit, it is best to be with God. And to be even closer to God than in his own house, is to be amongst his gift of nature.”
“I… guess that makes sense,” I meekly agreed. “But… I have my lover boy waiting for me so he can pick me and Lenora up.”
“Yes. And we will need much more time than this fleeting moment.” His  hand withdrew from my leg, and he clasped his hands together. With a charming yet soulful smirk, he continued, "Perhaps this weekend I can pick you up and we can go down into the woods. We can pray together and banish the devil from your soul together.”
I clasped my hands together and my eyes widened. “Oh, thank you, sir. Nothing would make me happier than to banish the devil from me. Thank you for this opportunity.”
He chuckled brazenly. “Don’t thank me, my child. Thank the Lord, for he is blessing you with someone to guide you to righteousness.”
I nodded in agreement, abruptly standing. “Thank you, Lord. I must be going now. Arvin will be back any minute.”
He gave a small wave, not saying anything else. Instead, he picked up the Bible sitting next to me and began flipping through the pages. I walked out, not looking back. But my spirit was uplifted and I felt better. A part of me wanted to tell Arvin as soon as I could so that I could show him God’s love, too.
Lenora waited. And waited. At some point, it started to rain, so I showed her how to glue leaves together to make an umbrella, which she exclaimed was a great bonding activity. Despite Arvin’s disappearance - and possibly getting sick - it was a nice afternoon.
Eventually, though, he showed up, profusely apologizing. But we thought it was fine.
~~~
I tugged the boy up into the bulky branch, laughing when a branch plopped on his head when he pulled himself up. Arvin confessed prior to the activity that he had a fear of heights, so I made sure we didn’t climb too high off the ground. Just enough to feel the thrilling sensation of wind beating against you and having nothing under one’s feet, like a baby in a highchair.
Arvin panted slightly and readjusted his weight on the thick, bulky branch. He finally felt comfortable enough to intertwine our fingers. He let out a shaky breath before leaning his head on my shoulder.
My composure was casual; I was used to sitting on trees. Sometimes, I found one comfortable enough to catch a quick nap in. I giggled, reaching to his cheek and stroking it.
“Are ya finally going ta tell me why ya can’t take me on a date tomorrow afternoon?” he prodded, quirking his brow. His grip on my hand tightened, but not painfully so.
I sighed, leaning against his head. “Well, you’re not going to like it. I put it off until now.”
“…Yes, darlin’?”
“Believe it or not, the young new priest isn’t half bad. I swear it, Arvin. He’s been helping me find God and I’ve never felt better about the Lord. I told him about the problem with them boys the other day, and he told me the devil had touched me when those boys did. And he said he could help me pray an cleanse my soul with God’s touch out in the wilderness.”
Arvin pulled away form me, staring with bewilderment. “That’s bull shit! The devil ain’t touched any pat of ya, Y/n. The guy just gets a kick out of making people feel bad.”
I sent him a reassuring smile, cupping his cheeks as I swung my legs. “Trust me, lover boy. I asked the same thing, and he said the devil was in them boys. That I ain’t done nothing wrong, but it was good to cleanse the devil’s touch.”
His face scrunched up, including the purplish bruise around his left eye. A stubborn scowl appeared on his handsome face. However, I silenced what I knew would come next with a kiss.
I felt him cave, but only for a moment. He then gently pushed me away by the shoulders, his glower weakening. “I trust you,” he insisted. “I just don’t like that new priest. He insulted my grandma’s cookin’ when he first showed up. Made a whole scene about her chicken liver dish and ate it all himself in the name of God.”
I laughed. “Maybe that’s a little rude, Arvin,” I admitted. “But he’s a nice man. When my mother made me talk to him, he was so very kind.” My expression faltered for a moment, and I cleared my throat. “…Well, he sympathized with me about my life and told me nature was God’s gift. That God loved me and my mother was wrong.”
He furrowed his brows and his jaw tensed. “You and your ma don’t get along too good, do ya?”
“She makes it rather obvious,” I chuckled dryly. “She hates me more and more every day. I don’t really know why, but I don’t care either.I think she’s pretty darn glad I’m with ya. She hopes I get married and leave the house as soon as possible. Or, to quote her, ‘the devil will give you your match’.”
Arvin sighed, pressing his forehead against mine. “I’m sorry. I guess… I should’ve connected the dots a lot sooner, huh?”
“It’s fine, Arvin. When I’m with you, I ain’t got any other worries in the world. You know…” A tsunami of mourning crashed into me, and my voice felt strained. “I see myself growing old with ya. Wish I met you earlier. Maybe then you could’ve met my brother. He was… like you. You two would’ve gotten along well.”
“Why can’t I meet him now? Is ‘e moved out?”
“No. He was in prison and then he killed himself. Couldn’t take not having his wife. The county priest, when he moved out with his wife, raped ‘er. She killed herself from shame. And so, he killed her.” Arvin fell silent, and I didn’t even feel his breath fanning across my face. “I agree with what he did, though. My mother said the devil was in the two of ‘em. I never told her that he died, though. I hope she dies alone, wondering why she let her only son and daughter leave her.”
One of his hands gripped my waist and the other skimmed over my upper thigh. “I’m sorry. If anythin’, the devil’s in your ma.”
I sighed. “Well, enough about me, lover boy. Why ain’t you a God-worshipper anymore? I’ve heard rumors of your past, but I tend not to listen to sthem absurd people.”
“My ma caught somethin’ called cancer and she died. My dad killed himself after the funeral. I found the body. The Sheriff drove me here. Lived ‘ere ever since.”
“Have you… forgiven your pa?” I suddenly asked, grasping at his upper arm.
He frowned. “Lenora asked me the same thing the other day.” He thought for a moment. “What is there to forgive? He’s dead.”
“I… know how hard dealing with suicide is. It’s heartbreakin’. I remember when my brother died, I was angry and sad that he left me all alone in this world. But… I knew he could not live without his wife. I learned to forgive him and be glad they were reunited in heaven.”
Arvin tensed. “I… don’t know how ta answer. I never think about it. Grandma and Lenora and Uncle… they all helped me forget about it. I still remember the day like it was yesterday, but I never think about it.”
I nodded, understanding. “I have a feeling you haven’t let go of ‘em yet, Arvin.”
“Of course I have,” he snapped defensively. “Life moves on. I ain’t got time to waste on thinking about ma and pa.”
“If you have enough time to waste on me, I’m sure you mind finds the time.”
“When I’m with you, time ain’t ever bein’ wasted.”
I chuckled, melting from his words. I pressed a kiss to his lips. “Sure, lover boy. We’re being really productive up here in this tree.”
“I love ya, Y/n. Ain’t nothing you could do that would drive me away.”
“Good. I don’t plan on testing that,” I giggled. “I love ya too, Arvin Russell. I love ya to bits. You’re the cherry fillin’ to my empty pie crust, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.”

Note
Arvin blurb where maybe him and the reader are trying for a baby and then end up having a darling baby girl named Lenora and Arvin being absolutely in love and always kissing his little girl's cheeks
Ded
You smile as you watch your husband coddle your little girl through the screen door. He points out the monarchs and the blue jays, showing her the clouds. He bounces her up and down. He's so infatuated with her and you know why.
It was so hard to get your little baby girl here. She was the first of your little loves to make it earth side, two brothers and a sister preceding her. Arvin’s heart broke a little more each time you'd lost a baby, so he couldn't get too excited until he was holding that sweet little babe who looked just like him. And the first time he'd called her Lenora, you couldn't take that away from him, so that's what you'd named her. And now here she was, four months old and the light of her daddy's life.
He brings her down and kisses her cheeks noisily, her gurggly giggles filling the air around you. You giggle yourself as Arvin cradles her to his hip. He sits beside you, leaning in to kiss your cheek,
"I don't know how you did it but goddamn she's perfect." He murmurs. You watch, smile etched into your features as he lays her down across the blanket the two of you sit on. You lean on his shoulder,
"She is, isn't she? Everything you expected?" You ask. He nods,
"Better. She's everything I've ever dreamed about and more." He murmurs, watching Lenora take one of her feet and drag it up to her mouth, chewing on her little toes. He smiles as you dampen a paper towel and dab at her feet, paranoid of something happening to her. Anything.
"You're everything and more I've ever hoped for, ya know?" He poses. You glance at him, smiling softly,
"Yeah, you tell me every once in a while. But it's nice to hear." He chuckles,
"I love you. And our baby girl." He growls, lifting her and kissing her pudgy cheeks again. She giggles, squealing as he tickles her neck. And you can't help but think that you're the one that's lucky. You have a gorgeous, loving husband, and the cutest little girl with all of her daddy's features you love. You really have the best life.

Bambi’s pov:
“Such a good girl.”
Good.
Girl.
The praise he had given just before he left, had invaded every part of your mind leaving you in a cloudy state.
It disgusted you….the effect those two words had on your emotions and body. You wanted to scream, cry for help, hit your fist against the barred door.
You also wanted to cry for him to come back, to protect you from the situation he had put you in but you knew he’d left to continue his life as sheriff for the day.
He was supposed to be the protector of the townsfolk, so why was he hurting you?
You assumed a few hours had passed. After observing the flawlessly girly room you’d been put in, you realized there was no clock or window. He obviously wanted you to be hidden from the outside world, or maybe he wanted to hide the outside world from you?
“My dumb baby”
You whimpered at the memory. Your fear and confusion had only fueled your need for escape. As you went to stand up, regret immediately overtook you as your legs wobbled and eyes blurred, falling to the cold hard ground taking the tray of food he’d left down with you. Tears began to build in the corners of your eyes at the realization your hands were bound by harsh rope in front of you and that you were now covered in food. You were so stuck in your head you’d barely registered your surroundings.
Maybe I really am dumb.

Lee’s POV:
He was stressed. He was pissed. He was tired. He missed you.
Lee ran his rough hands down his face as he let out a deep sigh filled with exhaustion. He hated that he had to leave you alone after last night. Lee would much rather be at home taking care of you,
He’d much rather be at home training you to be his good girl again, after that stunt you pulled with the Russel boy.
No Lee. This is your fault.
He should’ve got to you sooner. It was his fault for being a damn coward. You just didn’t understand what that Arvin kid was after. No, his girl was too innocent for her own good, he convinced himself.
Even when Lee saw you kiss that fucker, even then he knew it wasn’t your fault. You didn’t know he was watching. You just wanted attention. You were just acting out. You would have never done that if Lee had just taken what was rightfully his.
His thoughts were spiraling, as they often did when he thought of you. You’d never told him why you were cryin’ the night he’d taken you and you didn’t have to. Lee had seen the whole thing behind the dark tinted windows of his car. He also knew that’s why Arvin ran like hell when he’d seen Lee watching.
Lee chuckled at the memory, happy with the fear he instilled in the boy. He knew he’d have to instill some in you too, even if it crushed his heart.
The sound of a fist knocking on his office door suddenly ripped Lee out of his y/n filled daydream. He grumble out an agitated “come in” just as one of his lower level officers busted through the door.
“Sheriff…got somethin’ your gonna wanna see immediately”
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
Tick
Tock
Tick
Tock
Tick….
BOOM
The slam of a door forced you into high alert. Your brain no longer creating ticks of a clock to fill the silence, your heart was now beating as loud as the boom that had just occurred. You nervously backed your disheveled body into the corner of the room, as it had become your only source of comfort during your stay here.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
Lee was ecstatic.
He knew he shouldn’t have been. His sister and brother in law were just found dead by some river just outta town. But fuck was Lee happy he didn’t have another obstacle standing in the way of him having you. Sandy had always been too damn protective of you. She didn’t know what you needed, she made unsafe decisions all the time. It’s why she ended up dead.
Lee knew exactly what you needed.
He couldn’t be bothered with the fact he’d just slammed his front door with a thunder-like force, he had to get to his girl. Lee removed his hat with a smile as he made his way to unlock your door. God, he missed you and he finally had you.
“Baby! God I’m so glad to see—“ Lee had started until his eyes landed on your messy form in the corner of your room. Food spilled to the ground, uneaten. Tears in your eyes.
His happiness drained and he was immediately overwhelmed with concern.
“Fuckin’ shit baby.” He cursed as he made his way over to you, only for you to shake and sob even more. He knew you hadn’t eaten your food and god knows how long you’d been here crying.
His soft coo’s only seemed to egg your cries on further and it frustrated him.
“Little one please…it’s okay…calm…calm…SHUT UP!” He bellowed as he harshly grabbed your face.
You immediately stiffened. A sob stuck in your throat and eyes not leaving his frantic ones. Your hands fisted at the end of your dress the best they could, bracing for the impact of him hurting you.
But it never came.
Lee’s face softened. “Thank you baby doll. See isn’t it easier to do as I say?” He questioned. He knew there was a part of you that desired this. To listen. To be protected and cherished.
The rough pads of his thumbs smoothed away the tracks of salty tears—drinking you in as small hiccups racked your body.
“Little one—when I ask you something, you answer. You always answer.”
“…i-I’m sorry l-lee…yes its e-easier to listen…m’sorry” you stuttered out in an attempt to please him. Thankfully it worked as his blue eyes lit up.
“My poor baby.” He cooed—dark eves traveling along your body. “You’re all sticky. How do you feel about a bath?”
Hell did the thought of getting clean sound amazing right now and you desperately wanted out of this sickly innocent room. You anxiously nodded your head in confirmation, forgetting Lee liked it better when you were verbal.
Panic struck through you at the realization but it seemed as though he didn’t care. Lee’s hands slowly wrapped themselves around your body. One under your thighs and the other around your waist. His ability to pick you up so easy sent an odd feeling through you. Yes you were scared but you liked being close to him like this. You could take in his scent. Smoke. Leather. And warm. He smelt warm and felt warm. You had found yourself leaning into his chest as he carried you to what you assumed was the bathroom. It was uncomfortable, with your wrist rubbing against the rope, but you were so cold you couldn’t care.
It was when you finally reached your destination that you looked up. Lee’s smile had yet to leave his face, thankfully it wasn’t that of a sinister one.
Lee had carried you over to the bathroom counter, tapping your thigh as a signal for you to adjust.
Looking around you noticed there were two sinks and lots of feminine bath products. First the overly decorated room and now a fully stocked bathroom. How had he been able to afford all this on a sheriff’s salary?
You’d shifted as the thought started to make you grow uncomfortable. You truly knew nothing about this man.
Casting your gaze down to your wrist, you winced at the harsh burns starting to form.
“U-um…lee? Could you?” You gestured to the rope binding your wrist.
He looked up from the bubble bath he’d started for you. Smile gone and face now completely blank. It scared you how fast his emotions could change.
“Yeah? Want me to untie them for you?” He taunted as he stalked his way towards you. “And what are you gonna do if I do that, baby?”
He didn’t trust you of course. He expected you to run.
“please I promise I’ll be good Lee. I just—they hurt” you begged trying to appeal to him.
Fuck, you knew just how to get him.
Lee reached into his back pocket pulling out a knife too sharp to be in the hands of a man like him. Reaching for your wrist, eyes never leaving yours as he cut the rope. For some reason, your eyes never left his. It was as if you were trying to show him you weren’t about to run, to show him he could trust you.
Why wasn’t I about to run?
Once your wrist were free, he brought them up to his lips, gently pressing a kiss to the irritated skin.
“I’m sorry. Don’t—please don’t make me do that again.” He’d ordered, jaw clenched, before his hands made their way around your waist, easily lifting you from the counter onto the floor.
Your head was still killing you, and it seemed like the floor was shaking under your feet just as it had before.
Though before you could crash again, those same rough hands found your waist and you almost happily welcomed them.
“Wow you really are like Bambi, aren’t ya?” He teased, eyes lit up. “Can’t even walk without tripping over your own two feet.”
Fuck you. You almost said, but you doubted that would have helped much. The whole reason you couldn’t walk was because of him!
“Now—im gonna let ya get undressed. Bathe by yourself.” He’d began, hands rubbing moving up and down your shivering arms. “Be good? ‘Kay honey?”
No. No I won’t be good. You wanted to fight back. Make him angry and frustrated like you were. Press his buttons.
But even you knew that wouldn’t work just yet.
“Yes sir.”
Lee almost groaned at your obedience. He knew you’d fall right into your role.
After handing you a fluffy white towel he turned to make his leave.
Holding the fabric to your chest—you watched anxiously as his leather cladded back retreated to the rest of the house, before closing the door. Of course—not without the click of a lock.
Looking around you suddenly became overwhelmed—confused. Like you didn’t know what to do. Not even the lovely smell of roses and vanilla could comfort you.
You wanted him back.
“Lee—“ you shakily called making your way to the door.
Not even two seconds later it opened.
“What’s wrong, baby—is everything oka—“ he rambled before you cut him off with a sigh.
“I don’t…wanna be alone. Please stay with me, Lee.”
Lee was a weak man. Well a weak man for you. Immediately he nodded his head, willing to do whatever it is you needed.
It shocked you, how eager he was. Maybe it shouldn’t have, he had kidnapped you after all.
You watched as he turned to give you privacy so you could undress, thankful for that. Slowly you started to strip the once beautiful now ruined dress, before folding it neatly and setting it on the counter. Next you did the same with your bra and panties.
You then checked back to make sure he was still turned before feeling the temperature of the water. Boiling hot and filled with bubbles. Just how you would have made it.
Dipping your toes in you couldn’t help but let out a groan, Lee swore his pants tightened a little at the sound.
Once you had fully submerged yourself in the bubbles, you let out a little cough signaling Lee could turn around.
The sight could have brought him to his knees.
Your hair was disheveled in a way only you could pull off, cheeks peachy red from the heat, and body barley covered.
Lee knew you had to be some kinda angel in that moment, and fuck if it didn’t make him wanna worship you.
He made his way closer to you, eyes trying not to look at the blue lace he’d seen under your dress earlier, now folded on his bathroom counter. Once he’d gotten close enough to the bath he crouched down, leveling himself next to you.
His presence, though it still made you uneasy, brought a sense of belonging. You watched him as he crouched next to you, eyes locked.
“why— why me?” You let out without thinking.
Hadn’t he told you before? Hadn’t he told you how perfect you were for him? How he couldn’t let the only perfect thing in this world be taken from him?
Sighing, Lee knew he had to give you a better answer.
“Why? cause’ baby, you were made for more. More than this town can offer. You weren’t made to be some fuckin’ kids first fuck. You weren’t made to wipe tables for people who don’t give two shits. You weren’t made to be abandoned— you were made to be mine.” Lee preached. He could tell it scared you, how passionate he was.
“I know you feel it too. I’ve seen it. Only my girl woulda’ stayed hours late for me just to serve me pie. Only my girl woulda’ somehow always been able to run into me everywhere she went. The universe wants us together, don’t deny it baby doll.” He said before grabbing your smaller hands in his.
You had yet to respond. Yes, you had a crush on the older man. You had since you moved here, but did you want this?
Your lack of response once again frustrated Lee, as he moved his strong hand around to your neck, not choking you…just holding it there as if a warning.
“Tell me you don’t want me.” He demanded, forcing you to whimper. “Tell me how bad I am. Tell me how you didn’t want this to happen. Didn’t want a bad man like me to take you and make you mine.”
He slowly brought his face closer to yours inhaling your scent as he said the dark words. You shifted your legs closed obviously effected by him. It took everything in you not to whimper as his nose rubbed against your temple. You knew he’d seen it, it’s what brought a dark smile to accompany his dark lust clouded eyes.
You did want him but…you couldn’t give into him.
“…I don—“ you’d never got to finish as he pulled your lips to meet his, the kiss forceful and passionate. He tasted like whiskey, a drink you’d never personally have but liked on him. The kiss was full of built up frustration, teeth and tongue. Water from the tub had spilled onto Lee’s jacket and pants but he couldn’t give a fuck.
Lee continued to dominate the kiss, mumbling out ‘mine’ in between breath’s. Something sparked in you. You didn’t want him to win so easily.
Suddenly you harshly bit down onto his bottom lip, letting out a strangled moan from him. “You fucking little brat,” he hissed watching the blood drip from his mouth.
It made Lee laugh. His good girl had some fight in her. Your innocent eyes still held that spark in them and fuck did he love it.
Lee’s hand quickly shot out grabbing your jaw harshly, forcing your body to lean slightly over the edge of the tub.
“Hhmh I see baby. Daddy leaves you alone for a little bit and you feel all big and bad, like you can handle it huh?” He said with a laugh.
“Open.” He demanded as he watched your eyes shimmer with tears.
You wanted to struggle. Shaking your head you let out a shaky groan.
Lee lifted an eyebrow at your defiance, amused by your fight.
Suddenly you felt his rough finger invading your mouth, forcing it open. Lee then leaned over your frame letting a mix of spit and blood fall between your pouty lips. You whimpered at the taste, fearful and turned on.
“Swallow now” he demanded, holding your jaw with what could only be described as a loving force.
You listened, swallowing what he gave you, ashamed at the ache between your thighs.
“Finally, you’re my good girl again.” He chuckled as he tapped his wet hands against your cheek.
“You’ve got ten minutes, Bambi. I expect you to be done when I get back.” Lee said as he stood up to make his way out, leaving you dazed and confused.
You were embarrassed by how wet you were, scared by how aggressive he was, and frustrated that he left.
You slowly shrunk into the bubbles as if to hide from your own thoughts, never noticing the pair of panties Lee had taken with him.

Lee closed the door behind him, letting out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding in. His hands fisted the lace blue panties he’d stolen from your little pile of clothes, and he knew he was fucked up for it. They were just so…you. Lee hummed to himself as he played with the little wet spot from where the fabric had rubbed against your little cunt.
He’d learned today that his good girl was also a brat, one that needed to be broken in. He didn’t mind, he’d always known you had a stubborn streak.
But fuck was lee happy to be the one to bring both sides out of you.
