The bracelet
Tumblr media
pairing: Nathan Drake x Reader
word count: 3,5 k
warnings: drinking
summary: You meet Nathan while he's working at the bar. He recognizes you and tries to steal your bracelet because he knows you're filthy rich. Instead, you manage to steal his heart.
a/n: This idea originally was supposed to be smut, but I changed my mind. I could make the smut part a part 2 if it's liked enough?
part2
Your black high heels clicked on the floor as you made your way over to the bar. The black dress that tightly hugged your body was making it rather uncomfortable to move and breathe but it certainly did make you look fantastic. Heads were turning to look at you, an emotionless expression on your own face, avoiding eye contact. It was your first night out since the divorce, which made you even more anxious, especially since you deciced to go out alone, no friends, no driver, no bodyguard. After your husband left you, or rather you left him with half of his fortune, which included a hotel to own, you hadn't really been there much, it brought back too many bad memories. But tonight wasn't about the bad memories, it was about forgetting them. So, you sat down in front of the bartender, looking him up and down before he even managed to notice you, placing your bag next you as your hands rested on the bar. He was handsome and young, his dark hair styled nicely. He looked at your hands, staring at the diamond bracelet on your left wrist before his eyes shot up and looked into your own. You smiled at him, crossing your legs on the stool and adjusting your position.
“Aren’t you too pretty to be here alone?” He asked you, placing down the glass he was previously cleaning.
“Aren’t you too handsome to be a bartender?” You asked back casually, earning yourself a raised eyebrow from the man in white shirt and black vest.
“So what will it be tonight? Sex on the beach?”
“Last time I checked the beach was pretty far from here”
He shook his head at you, bitting back a smile.
“A martini would be fine”
“Really? A martini? I can do better than that”
You turned your back to him, resting your elbows on the bar. Looking around the place for a few seconds, taking in the scenery. It was calm and relaxing, piano playing in the background, the soft chatter of people all around, the sounds of the cute bartender moving around behind you. The lights of the crystal chandelier flickering softly. It felt like the 20s, like a scene from "The great Gatsby". Rich people everywhere, expensive drinks, expensive furniture, muffled private conversaions, secret lovers shooting eachother provocative glances. You got almost lost in the moment of calmness, closing your eyes for a second before your nirvana was interrupted by a soft. “Your martini madam”, which made you turn slowly. Your small hand grabbed the tall martini glass, taking a sip from it as you kept staring at the brow-haired boy, a soft smile on your lips. He was way smoother in his movements than you anticipated him to be, you barely even noticed when exactly he took the diamond bracelet off of your wrist. Fascinating, you didn’t expect the night to become so fun so soon. He was one of your own, a smuggler, a man of deception. He went on making drinks for other clients while you stared at him, playing with the olive in your glass. It felt like the bar was a barrier between your two worlds, you knew he probably made minimum wadge without the tip. And there you were, on the other side of the bar, owning half of the hotel, dressed in a Versache dress that was probably worth more than his rent, not a single care in the world but your shattered heart. Guess some were better at deception than others. However, he managed to capture your attention, even if not intended by him.
“I didn’t catch your name” you said as he came near you, playing around with the shaker as he was mixing something up.
“Nate” he replied with a stern voice, poring out the content in a pretty glass and serving it to the person who had ordered. He seemed slightly anxious, like he was avoiding your gaze. Crucial mistake when stealing.
Nate retuned back to you shortly, his body seemed stiff, and he wiped some sweat from his forehead. He worked hard, you could say that, but he mostly looked nervous.
“I assume you already know who I am, since you didn’t ask”
He thought for a second as he looked into your pretty eyes, analysing your face, or rather admiring your features. He cleared his throat after he caught himself staring, breaking the intense eye contact and grabbing a glass to clean.
“I know” he replied shortly, continuing his act of polishing the glass.
Of course he knew who you were, your face was in the newspapers way too often for your own good, along with the change of surname every once in a while. He thought that those tabloids never did you justice now that he had seen you. In the pictures you always seemed gorgeous, but not even nearly as gorgeous as you were under the warm lights of the bar. They called you the “black widow of the upper east side", rumours about your intimate relationships with some of the richest men in New York were spreading like a forest fire. Even if in reality they were nothing more than just fiction, one thing was not, and it was your marriage to the owner of The Ritz-Carlton, the very place he worked at. Nate had heard about the divorce from clients here and there, everyone was talking about how you had managed to set him up into fake cheating on you so you could divorce him. Brilliant move, unfortunately, it was just a rumour. Maybe in your previous marriage you had pulled a stunt or two to get out with as much money as possible, fake accusations, setting up scenes, they were your speciality. But not this time, this time the cheating was very real and very much not your own idea. Maybe that's why this time it hurt so bad, because you actually loved your, now ex, husband. Defeat was something hard to admit for someone with so much pride and confidence as yourself. Nate knew nothing, only gossip.
“Then why did you take my bracelet? It was a gift from my ex husband” you asked, earning yourself a shocked looked for a brief second, before he put on his poker face and looked away. He had a few ways to play his cards in that moment, thoughts calculating the possible outcomes of each one.
“You could’ve lost it” he stated “Do you want me to look around and ask if anyone has found anything?”
You smile at him charmingly, making him blush slightly. You gracefully stood up from your stool, placing your arms on the bar as you hovered closer to him, faces side by side, your cheeks almost touching each other. You whispered in his ear softly, which got Nate’s heart beating so loud he could barely hear your words. While he was busy being nervous your hand travelled down to the pocket of his pants, slipping inside and finding the heavy jewellery that was previously on your wrist. The weight and shape of the bracelet felt familiar between your fingers, I’d worn it countless of times. You took it out, your hand travelling up Nate’s body.
“I have to admit your work is impressive” you said, hand still moving slowly up until you reached his shoulder. You knew he couldn’t feel a thing because your movement was slow enough and far away enough. “But you still have to master the speed of your hands, your touch needs to be like silk, felt only when you want it to be” you continued whispering in his ear.
You knew your mission was successful when he flinched at the touch of the cold diamonds against the bare skin of his neck. You smiled at him and pulled away, shock written all over his pretty face.
“Looks like I found my bracelet!” You giggled happily, clicking it on your wrist as he stared at you.
Nate obviously didn’t know what to say and how to react, he knew that one wrong move would get him fired, possibly arrested and charged with theft. However, your smile suggested otherwise.
“Aw, you’re so cute when you’re scared” you told him, taking a sip from the martini. “Don’t be, I wouldn’t say a word, actually, you can have the bracelet if you want it, I came here and I intended to lose it”
And it was the truth. It was the only gift your dear ex husband ever gave you that was not originally bought for his mistress and passed down to you when she didn’t like the gift. This was the only gift you knew, or at least liked to think that, was ever bought with the intention to be given to you. It hadn’t left your wrist in public since. After the divorce you kept it as a reminder that for a brief moment there actually was a version of you that was loved by your husband, there was a version of you that you were capable of loving someone too. Now it was a token of a broken, dysfunctional marriage, that came crumbling down the second your foot stepped out of the presence of your husband. With a swift motion you took it off, placing the bracelet on the bar. It sparkled almost blindingly under the soft interior light. Nate’s eyes kept travelling from your face to the bracelet and back. He was rested against the bar, unsure of what the right move was. He assumed it was some sort of trick that would get him in a lot of trouble. You smiled reassuringly as his hand reached for the diamond jewlery, taking it and placing it in his pocket again.
"Well, it's not every day that someone tips you with a diamond bracelet" he said, making you giggle softly
''You'll have more use of it than I do, that's for sure'' you told him, finishing up the martini. You took out the olive and ate it, starting to get lost in your sour thoughts about the bracelet and what it symbolised.
"Another drink?" he asked, taking you out of your train of thought
"Maybe another night" you said, feeling overwhelmed enough to want to leave. "All this bracelet talk kind of ruined my mood"
Nathan was undeniably very handsome, and you did come with the idea of not leaving alone but all the memories of your ex came rushing in and was about to turn your night into a nightmare. You took out some money from your purse to pay him from the drink but he stopped you, placing a hand over yours.
"It's on me"
"Aww, a gentleman" you smiled at him "Some lady is going to be very lucky with you"
"Maybe you could be that lady" he winked, shooting you a smile.
You looked at him confused for a split second, starting to laugh softly at his sudden boldness. You got up, collecting your things and straightening out your dress while he watched your every movement.
“You don’t have to be nice to me because I gave you the bracelet”
"I was serious" he stated "How about I pick you up after my shift and lighten up your mood?"
"Pick me up from where exctly?" you asked, almost not believing what he was saying.
"Here, 12:30, lose that dress and put on somethig more comfortable"
You looked at him in disbelief but agreed. As you walked away from the bar you could feel his eyes on you as you ocassionally stopped here and there too greet some people you knew. Maybe this "date" was going to be a nice change of pace. After all of the dating on the upper east side, the luxury restaurants, the balls, the charity events, you had no actual idea what people usually did when they were on normal dates anymore. After not one but two failed marriages, the dating world seemed so distant, so surreal. Frankly you had no intention to pursue anything serious with anymore, let alone a bartender that was your employee.
An hour later you found yourself staring dumfolded at your wardrobe, Nathan's voice kept repeating in your head "wear something comfortable". You mocked his tone aloud as you took out even more clothes to throw on your bed. Was he going to be in his work clothes? How were you supposed to match that up? Finally, you stopped on a blue high-waisted, wide leg jeans and simple black blouse. For a while you were considering black heels but decided to switch them up with some very old platform converse sneakers that you hadn't worn for years. You put on a leather bomber jacket to finish off the look. It felt ridiculous, you hadn't dressed this causal since freshmen year at university, having forgotten you even had those clothes at all. You sighed, shaking your head as you walked out of the door and headed towards the hotel. Unsrprisingly, you got there about 15 minutes late, which got you anxious because Nate could gotten discouraged and left. You looked around, not seeing him and you felt slightly disappointed, but not surprised. The whole situation was so odd to begin with, no wonder it didn’t follow through.
"And I thought you couldn't get more gorgeous" you heard from behind you, turning to be met with Nate's charming smile. He just walked out of the doors of the lobby, probably spotted you from inside.
"I'm sorry for the wait"
"It's alright, it was worth waiting for, come on, I'm starving" he said, taking your hand and leading you somewhere.
You followed him, as you walked the streets of New York hand in hand. He wasn’t in his work clothes, instead he wore a simple grey t-shirt with a leather jacket on top, black jeans and probably his work shoes. He had a backpack on one shoulder, assuming this was where he kept his uniform. The spring air was warm but there we ocassional cold brezzes. You looked around the flashy signs of shops and supermarkets, the monotonous souds of ocassional cars filled your ears, along with the calming sound of his footsteps a little ahead of yours. They say New York is the city that never sleeps and it's true, but despite living there your whole life, you never got to experience it in that way. You didn't really know where Nate was taking you but you didn't care either, too engaged in the scenery. Late night walks were something so foreign and so new, your eyes were shining more than the diamond bracelt that you gave him and he couldn't help but smile at how awed you looked by everything around you.
"You ever been to this side of town?"
"I have no memory of it"
"You're adorable" And that made you blush, hiding in his shoulder. He laughed at how cute you were being, stopping at a 24-hour sandwitch shop.
"Are you hungry?" He asked after the two of you got in
"I guess, it's kind of late though"
"Who cares?"
He ordered for the two of you, finally letting go of your hand so he could pay and grab the two cola bottles he had bought. In a couple of minutes your sandwitches were ready, so Nate guided you to the closest bech in the nearby small park. The park was adorable, it looked more like a sitting area with a playground for children. You really had never been to this side of town before. Nate started eating hungrily and you couldn't help but stare at how he devoured the food in his hands. You chuckled softly before bitting into your own sandwitch. It was warm in your cold hands and tasted way better than it actually looked. It wasn't like you had never eaten sandwitches on a bench before, but it was so long ago you could hardly recall when it really was. It did remind of freshmen year, being out late at night, eating fast food and meeting up with a guy you actually liked and had no intention to manipulate. It was, in a way, nostalgic even. After the two of you were done with your food the silence was finally broken.
"I feel so alive!" Nate exclaimed and startled you, making you jump in your seat. Both of you laughed softly at that.
"I'm glad you're happy and content" you said, rubbing his belly.
He got up from the bench, offering you a hand. You took it, following him up.
"So where are we going?" you asked finally
"You'll see." He said, continuing the walk. You got to an apartment buildind soon enough, he walked you to the alley on the side where the fire escape was.
"Come on, we go up" He told you, helping you get to the ladder. Nate followed closely behind, guiding you to the rooftop.
''I'm so glad I wore pants to this" You said once you reached the top.
"Yeah? Well I'm not" He joked, taking your hand again and walking you towards an area on the rooftop that had pouf chairs and fairly lights.
"It's so pretty" you said once he sat you down. Nate pulled one of the poufs next to yours and threw himself on it.
"Yeah, best part is, you can see the stars"
You looked up, despite the light pollution, you could really see stars and the moon almost clearly.
"You see this constelation there? It kind of looks like a pan?"
You nodded with a giggle at his description, following the arm that was showing you were to look. You scooted over to him, the top of your head touching his.
"That's Ursa Major..." he contionued
"The great bear"
"So you know your constellations?" he shot up, looking at you
"No, just latin"
"Oh in that case you're about to have a blast!"
And you really did have a blast, you sat there for hours listening to him, looking at the stars. It was so romantic that you wanted to melt into the chair and stay there forever. You lost track of time, reality even. It felt like you two were in your own small world on that rooftop and nothing and no one could reach you. Around 3 am the two of you started to get sleepy, cuddled up against eachother. His arm was wrapped around your shoulders, your head rested on his chest. At some point the two of you had decided that moving on one pouf was better. Your eyes were starting to feel heavy while his voice soothed you into sleep.
"Hey" he said softly "Want me to drive you home?"
You nodded sleepishly, getting up after him. He drove you home in his slightly beat-up car, walking you to the door of the building.
"I really had fun tonight" you told him at the door "I really hope that you're not working tomorrow, it's so late"
"I'm glad you had fun, you shouldn't worry about me"
You nodded, kissing his cheek goodnight.
You hadn't had such a great date in a while, which made you think about Nate more in the past few days. How could you not? The pictures of the two of you wandering the streets of New York hand in hand, the headlines wondering who your new "victim" was. Your head would start hurting solely from the idea of putting him in this position. So, you decided it was best to talk to him. That night, you walked into the hotel in your usual attire, but this time the dress was champagne colored.
"Hi Nate" you said as you sat down. He greeted you with his charming smile, wiping the bar in front of you.
"A martini?" He asked, grabbing the bottle
"Actually, a word in private"
He had a puzzled look on his face but followed you to a more private area by the windows. Neiter of you sat down, you were too nervous to adress the topic and he became nervous from your worried state.
"I'm sure you've seen the papers..."
"Oh my god it's about that!" he sighed in relief, placing his handa in his pockets
"What else could it be about?"
"From the way you acted I thought someone died"
"Well, no, I just wanted us to talk about the pictures and say I'm sorry"
"Sorry about what? The way they talk about me?"
"Precisely"
"Well, I find it amusing actually"
"I don't people seeing us and thinking that way"
"I don't care about who sees, I like you"
You looked up at him with sadness in your eyes and it seemed like he got the idea you had in mind. He shook his head in disbelief, his hand reaching out to hold your waist and bring you closer.
"You can't be serious"
"I am"
His hand travelled up, cupping your chin.
"I'll have to kiss you now, you know that" he whispered againt your lips. You closed your eyes and waited, his lips pressing softly against yours. You returned the kiss but your hands remained on your clutch, afraid that the whole thing was going to get out of control if you got too touchy.
"I should have kissed you that night" he whispered against your lips
"You should have"
"You'll wait for me right? I'll become rich for you, I promise"
You nodded in response, hugging him tightly, feeling his heartbeat agaisnt yours and the warmth of his body. You could feel his gaze as you walked away, probably the hardest walking-away you had to do in a long while.
The picture of the two of you kissing also made the papers.
A week later Nate left his workplace and you didn't hear a word from him.

You and Nathan had been best friends for as long as you could remember.
When he punched a guy twice his size all because they made you cry on your first day at the orphanage, he quickly gained your trust and loyalty. It was reciprocated when you dumped all your lunch on a kid when they poked fun about why his brother left him.
You two had been inseparable ever since.
Nathan was protective of you, and you were protective of him.
As years passed, that protectiveness only grew tenfold. With it came the care and affection that went from strictly platonic to something warmer, sweeter.
For you, at least.
You couldn't pinpoint when it started, all you knew was that everything Nathan did for you suddenly felt special—like it was solely for you.
The change wasn't outright. It was a slow realization, when the little things he did made your heart grow warmer and beat faster all the same.
At first, you thought it was a simple crush—a silly phase, that with time, it would fade.
But no.
As months moved to years, it went from something that lingered to something you couldn't escape from.
The moment you truly figured that what you felt about him wasn't as simple as an adoration for your best friend was on your eighteenth birthday.
Nathan had spent all the money he saved from working odd—and honest, he made sure to make that known—jobs on a silver necklace.
Maybe you watched way too many romcoms, maybe it was all in your rose-tinted head, but there was an underlying romance in the way he stood behind you, so close and warm, as he put the necklace on for you.
With bated breath, you let him, trying your best not to melt over his simple touch. His fingertips brushed against your skin so delicately but felt electric in all the right ways.
You only regained your breathing when he finally stepped back. Yet he took it away a moment later when he gently tapped the charm—shaped like a compass—sitting between your collarbone, a fond smile on his lips when he said,
"So you'll always find your way back to me."
How could you not fall in love?
What a cliché.
Falling in love with your childhood best friend.
It would've been cute if it was reciprocated.
But whatever he saw you as was strictly platonic.
You were constantly reminded of how unrequited your love was with the hook-ups he brought back to the apartment.
You had agreed to be his roommate to help lessen the expenses. Even though you had only recently moved in together, you were starting to doubt if it was a good idea—for your heart's sake, anyway.
It didn't even stop there.
Because here you were once again, sporting an ache in your chest as you watched him flirt with a blonde girl at the bar.
As much as you enjoyed visiting him at work, seeing him flirt with the pretty customers regularly will always leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Jealousy.
A feeling you shouldn't be entertaining in the first place. You were just a best friend. You had no right to go all green-eyed whenever you saw him with another girl.
Nathan Drake wasn't yours.
You didn't even realize that you were too deep into your thoughts until a familiar voice brought you out of it.
"You okay?"
You blinked, looking up to see Nathan regarding you with brows furrowed in concern.
"Huh?"
"You've been glaring at that thing for a good minute now," he explained, nodding at the personalized cocktail he made for you.
He always did that whenever you stopped by, experimenting with new mixes he thought you'd enjoy solely based on how well he knew you. You give him your honest feedback in return. It was your own little game.
"Is it bad?"
"No, no, no," you said, taking a sip before smiling. "I liked it."
"Just 'like', damn. I need to step up my game," he sighed in feigned disappointment. When you didn't react as much, he added, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
Nathan looked at you for a moment, lips pursed as he shook his head.
"You're such a bad liar."
"I'm not," you scoffed, playfully rolling your eyes. "You just know me so well."
"I do," he hummed, grin turning proud. "I also know when something's bothering you so, what's up?"
"Girl things." You shrugged, trying to seem nonchalant. You could tell it confused him, because he was never uncomfortable to talk about those topics with you. But before he could even question it, you quickly added, "I think I'm going to head home first. You didn't forget your keys, right?"
"That was one time," he grumbled, eyeing you for a moment because he obviously didn't buy your excuse. A second later, he sighed, "Yeah, I got my keys."
"Okay, See you later," you said, gathering up your things before walking towards the door.
"Let me know if you get home safe," he called out.
You only threw him a salute in response.

It was the harsh light from the huge window in the living room that woke you up.
You must have fallen asleep on the couch in the middle of watching your comfort movie—a poor attempt at trying to distract yourself from your lovelorn predicament.
Who knew dealing with feelings could be so exhausting?
It was the smell of bacon that coaxed you out of your cocoon, though.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," Nathan greeted as soon as you stepped into the kitchen. He threw you a warm smile over his shoulder before he continued making breakfast—shirtless, might you add. "There are painkillers beside your water in case your neck is killing you. I would've carried you back to your bed but you kick in your sleep and I've learned my lesson so…"
It did happen once.
He was trying to coax you off the couch and back into the comfort of your bed. But as he got closer, your leg having a mind of its own when you were deeply asleep, you kicked him straight in his jewels—his words, not yours.
The loud thud of him falling on the floor didn't even shake you awake, not even when he was groaning in pain.
You couldn't even remember any of it.
"How many times do I have to apologize for you to let that go?" you chuckled, settling at your usual seat at the small dining table you had.
"Not enough," he snorted. "I still feel the phantom of the kick, you know."
"You're so dramatic." You rolled your eyes, glancing around only to catch a glimpse of that old yet familiar green trunk. It was then you noticed some of his old stuff littered around, trinkets and memorabilia he hadn't looked at in a while. Just as you were about to question him about it, you saw the excited look on his face. You narrowed your eyes, asking, "Did I miss something?"
"Quite a lot, actually," he chuckled, sauntering over to you with your breakfast for the day. Putting the full plate in front of you, Nathan leaned down and quickly kissed your forehead. "Eat. I'll tell you all about it."
You ignored the phantom of his lips on your skin.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-
A treasure hunt.
Nathan dragged you into a treasure hunt.
You didn't trust this Victor Sullivan guy, but Nate seemed to be adamant about finding this gold in hopes of finding Sam too. And you trust your best friend's judgment so that made Sully a friend of your best friend, much to your dismay.
"Do I look okay?" you asked, straightening out your long, black evening gown as you emerged out of the makeshift changing room.
When you didn't hear an answer, you looked up to see Nathan staring at you with a certain look in his eyes.
Your face warmed. "What?"
"Okay?" he scoffed, shaking his head as if he was offended by the word you used. With a gentle smile, he gestured at you with both hands. "You look beautiful."
"Thanks. You don't look bad yourself," you responded with a shy smile, unable to hold his gaze for much longer. You fixed your entangled necklace, instead.
"Here, let me," he said, quickly walking over to you to straighten it out, his touch featherlight against your skin. "It's a gorgeous necklace. The guy who gave this to you has good taste."
"If good taste means licking his own ass, then, it's a bit questionable."
"Okay, gross," he playfully grimaced. "All I'm saying is that I picked the right one for you."
"You did." You smiled fondly.
"Perfect," he hummed with a smile, his gaze slowly trailing from your necklace up to your eyes, his next words barely even a whisper. "You're perfect."
You didn't know if it was even meant for your ears but you could only stand there, staring into his brown eyes that seemed to shift from one emotion to another.
Nathan was about to say something when Sully came out of nowhere with that grumpy look on his face.
"Why are we bringing her again?" he asked as if you weren't standing in front of him.
"She's a genius with computers," Nathan said, a bite in his tone. "She's going to help us get through any security tech easy breezy."
Sully narrowed his eyes between you two before shrugging.
"Fine," he grumbled, looking you up and down before walking away. "We leave in ten minutes."
"I don't think he likes me very much," you sighed once the door shut.
"I don't think he likes anyone," Nathan said, smiling at you reassuringly. "Don't take it personally."
And you didn't. Truly.
But when you got to the auction house, it definitely felt more personal when the old man wouldn't tell you anything.
No communication. No updates. No information. Nothing.
Only when you ask Nathan directly were you able to get a grasp of what was going on or when to proceed to the next step—if he wasn't distracted.
With the countless pretty ladies dressed to the nines, you best believe he wasn't anywhere near focused.
You were angry because this was a dire situation. One wrong move could get you guys caught. You were too goddamn young for prison.
You definitely weren't bitter over something else.
"Do you always feel the need to flirt with anything that walks?" you spat when he finally reached the door you'd been trying so hard to keep open without getting caught. It took him three minutes more since he was busy chatting up some random trust fund girl.
"I wasn't—Jesus," he grunted, the door hitting him on the way as you walked past it.
You couldn't be bothered to wait anymore. You didn't look back and simply sped walk towards the power switch.
"You're upset," Nathan said once he caught up with you.
"I'm not upset," you grumbled. "I'm annoyed."
"It's the same thing."
"It's fucking not."
"Okay, geez," he conceded, pouting, "What'd I do?"
"What aren't you doing?" you asked sarcastically, harshly tapping on your phone as you tried to decode the security lock on the main switch. "Oh right, focusing on your job!"
"Christ, do you two always bicker like an old married couple?"
"Shut up!" you and Nathan barked synchronously.
Shaking your head, you calmed yourself, punching in the security code.
"Look, I'm sorry, alright? I was just trying to scope potential—"
You glared at him.
"I'm shutting up."
"Just do your thing. I want this over and done with," you grumbled, stepping aside once the circuit box finally opened.
"You're a genius," he praised with a smile, placing a quick kiss on your forehead. "Thank you."
"Whatever."
You wished you could say everything went smooth sailing from there, but when did it ever?
Everything happened so fast.
One minute you two were walking out of the control room, the next you were being chased down but huge men.
Running in heels was not fun.
And then it was a blur, someone grabbing your arm in a way that made you scream in pain to Nathan tackling the guy to the ground, landing blow after blow to his face until blood started to splatter on the suit he was wearing.
"Touch her again and I'll kill you."
You'd never seen him so angry before.
But that anger quickly disappeared when he fussed over you, hands soft against your cheeks yet the panic and worry were evident in his eyes.
It took several 'I'm fine's and a couple more reassurances that you weren't badly hurt to get him to fully calm down and help you up so you could get out of this place.
Unbeknownst to you, there were curious eyes watching everything closely with a knowing yet wicked smile on her lips.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-
You thought the feeling of being outcasted was only a small blip at the auction house.
But you were so wrong.
"What happened to you?" you asked when he finally met up with you at the church in Barcelona, soaking wet from head to toe.
"Long story."
"So you brought your girlfriend with you" A girl—Chloe, you later learned—suddenly appeared.
"She's not my girlfriend," Nathan quickly corrected.
Yes, it was true.
But the way he shut it down so quickly as if the thought made him hurl made the sting harsher.
It didn't take long for you to notice how Nathan seemed to be following Chloe around a lot.
So much so that you were becoming more of an afterthought.
They were always conspiring amongst themselves. It was in their line of expertise, you supposed, and you were just the tech girl. But it wasn't like you were clueless about it. Nate has told you enough stories for you to get the gist of what was going on.
It was getting pathetic, trailing behind them like some puppy, wanting to feel included.
When Nathan argued with Sully that you were not leaving his side when it was time to split up, you could only laugh at it now.
What was the point when you were immediately alone when you got into the tunnels?
Even more as you stood by yourself at the club, watching him dance with Chloe, so close, in the guise of blending in.
Maybe if you weren't distracted you would've noticed the man sneaking up behind you. You would've been able to run before he could grab you from behind, hand over your mouth as he started dragging you backward. And maybe you were quite good at kicking someone's jewels when you hit the jackpot the first time, enabling you to escape and scream for help.
You were yelling Nathan's name, but it was the loud gunshot that caught his attention.
It was heartbreaking to think that it took you getting shot in the leg for him to fully acknowledge you.
You were overwhelmed with too many emotions that you became numb, simply letting them take you back to the safe house in silence.
"I'm sorry," he whispered as he sat by your temporary bed, carefully wrapping the bandage on your thigh after he cleaned it. Thankfully, the bullet was only meant to slow you down, not kill. "I'm supposed to be looking out for you."
"It's fine," you sighed. You knew he was being sincere. He looked thoroughly distraught when he saw you drop to the ground. You knew it wasn't his fault, and you knew he was already blaming himself enough. But with the pain and bitterness—both physically and emotionally—you couldn't stop it. "You were busy. I get it."
He frowned. "What's with that tone?"
"There's no tone," you grumbled, avoiding his gaze.
"You're annoyed."
You shook your head. "I'm not annoyed.'
"So…you're upset," he hummed, reaching for your hands. You pulled away, carefully getting comfortable on the bed.
"I'm going to sleep," you sighed, pulling the covers over you.
Nathan got the hint, standing from his seat with a sigh, "Okay, goodnight, just…call me if you need anything."
So when you woke up in the middle of the night when a sudden sting went up your leg, you quickly yet carefully got out of bed to look for him.
You wish you hadn't bothered.
The last thing you wanted to see was him and Chloe getting cozy on the balcony, a bottle of wine between them.
You figured you weren't important enough to interrupt their moment. Besides, the ache in your leg couldn't compare to the absolute pain in your heart. It only intensified when they started leaning toward each other.
So you quickly went back to bed, tainting the pillowcase with salted tears.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-
"Here." Nathan kneeled in front of the foot of the bed, tying your shoelaces for you. "So, I've been thinking…"
"Uh oh," you joked.
"Maybe you should sit this one out."
Your smile quickly got wiped off your face.
"What?"
Nathan glanced at the door. You followed his gaze, catching a glimpse of Chloe before she hurriedly walked away.
You pressed your lips, nodding in understanding.
"It's not what you think it is," Nathan placated.
"Sure it's not," you scoffed.
"Look, you're injured and—"
You stood up, abruptly cutting him off. You grabbed your bag, limping around the room as you gathered your stuff.
"Woah careful, your wound is still fresh," Nathan followed you around, arms out in case you stumbled. "What are you doing?"
"Leaving. That's what you wanted, right?"
"What? No!" he rushed, hands on your shoulder, stopping you. "What I meant was, you need to recover first."
"Right," you scoffed, shrugging him off before you continued packing. "Because  it's going to be dangerous and you're looking out for me, trying to protect me and all that bullshit."
"It's not bullshit!"
"You know, after all we've been through, I thought I could count on you to at least be honest with me," you said bitterly.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means," you pressed, harshly zipping up your bag. "If you wanted me out of the picture, you could've just said so."
Shaking his head, he argued, "That's not it."
"Maybe," you said, looking him straight in the eyes. "But fewer people, more gold to go around, right?"
That rendered him silent.
"You've known me your whole life," he started, hurt flickering in his irises. "You really think I'd do that to you?"
"I don't know anymore, Nate." You threw your hands up exasperatedly. "Because ever since you met them, I barely recognize you anymore. You've been wanting their approval so bad you're getting desperate for it.
"And I always thought that when we get the chance to find this treasure, we'll do it together, side by side like we always do. But all I've done this whole time is be a third wheel to whatever this is." You gestured at him and the door, laughing sarcastically. "Fourth, if you include Sully."
"That's not true," he argued weakly, realization dawning on his face.
"You whisper among yourselves, nobody tells me a fucking thing, you don't even tell me anything anymore! I'm always left chasing after you because you couldn't be bothered waiting for me to catch up. Fine, I might not know everything about this treasure but it'd be nice to get filled in every once in a while instead of leaving me clueless! Hell, you're starting to forget you brought your best friend with you—"
"I didn't forget about you—"
"You didn't even notice I was getting dragged away until I was shot!"
Nathan looked away.
"All of you are always excluding me and it sucks," your voice cracked, blinking away unshed tears. "And don't think I didn't see you conspiring with Chloe last night."
He looked confused. "Last night?"
"When I came looking for my best friend for help because my leg was hurting like a bitch but I didn't want to be a cockblock so, you're welcome."
"You're not—" Nathan cleared his throat, shoulders slumping, looking at you apologetically. "Y/N…"
You shook your head, harshly wiping at your eyes, putting your jacket on. "The more it goes on, the more I think that you just brought me along because it was convenient for you. Now that I'm considered a liability, gotta leave the extra baggage right?"
"That's not fucking true!" he gritted, pulling his hair frustratedly. "You're part of this as much as I am!"
"Right. Where are we going next?"
Nathan blubbered like a fish out of water.
"That's what I thought," you scoffed, slipping your backpack on.
"Wait, dammit," he cursed when you walked past him, chasing after you into the living room. Frustrated, he called out, "All I'm asking is for you to sit this part out because you're hurt."
You stopped, slowly facing him.
"I never thought that the loneliest I'd ever feel is when I'm supporting you to chase this dream you'd been wanting ever since you were a kid," you admitted, chest tightening as you stared into his troubled brown eyes. "So, I'm not sitting this one out, Nate, I'm done."
You shoved the cross right on his chest.
"Have fun on your honeymoon," you said, bumping his shoulder as you walked out the door.
"Y/N!"
You never looked back.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-
Nathan was smart in a lot of different aspects. But emotions and feelings?
Oh he was stupid as fuck.
He wished it didn't take something drastic to happen for him to accept what he truly felt for you.
Part of him was relieved because at least you weren't there when the plane fiasco happened, especially with your injury. He was appeasing his guilt by telling himself that you were safer this way.
Nathan wouldn't know what to do with himself if something worse happened to you.
But as he was decoding the postcards Sam sent—a difficult task to focus on when he couldn't stop worrying about you so much—Chloe suddenly came in with a package.
"It has your name on it."
He opened it confused, but nothing could prepare him for what was inside.
The dread and fear started to creep up his spine when he held the silver necklace he gave you.
You never took this off.
As he emptied the box in a rush, photos upon photos of you tied up and gagged, beaten and bruised with blood tainting your delicate skin, Nathan felt like his entire heart was taken from him.
'The map or her. Choose wisely.'
It came in flashes, moments where you'd been there for each other, the joy and heartbreak, success and failures—you were always there, his one constant.
Then came the moments where he dreamed about you and him, doing things best friends shouldn't be doing.
He always knew what he felt about you but he shoved it down in fear of ruining the friendship you'd built over the years. But now? Denying it seemed insignificant. Now there was a chance he wouldn't be able to tell you at all.
Nathan was losing the love of his life.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-
"That didn't take long," Braddock laughed sardonically, standing up from a large rock nestled on the beach somewhere in the Philippines.
"Where is she," Nathan growled, the tube map holder slung on his back.
Braddock nodded at one of her men, Nathan's heart sinking to his stomach when they dragged you in, your yelp piercing his chest when they shoved you on the sand.
Nathan instinctively tried to run for you.
"Not so fast," Braddock hummed, clicking her gun before pressing it on the back of your head. "How do I know this isn't a trick?"
"I think you already figured out I don't play games when it comes to her."
"Well, let's see," she challenged. "On your knees, Drake."
"N-Nate," you whimpered, adamantly shaking your head. Even in your state, you were still trying to protect him.
"It's okay," he reassured with a smile, hands up as he did as told.
Braddock grabbed a fistful of your hair and pulled you closer to where he was.
He stifled his anger. But best believe he'd already plotted so many ways to make Braddock suffer for what she did to you.
But one wrong move could cost your life.
"Hand it over."
"Untie her."
Braddock rolled her eyes but did so anyway.
"Hey, hey, look at me," Nathan whispered, your tear-filled eyes meeting his. He lifted his chin once, gaze flickering behind you. "I got you, okay? You're going to be okay."
"Enough with this sappy bullshit. Hand over the map or she dies."
Nathan slowly grabbed the map, only to throw it away as far as possible.
On cue, a huge explosion distracted Braddock enough for you to abruptly stand on your feet, hitting her under the chin with your head.
"You bitch!" she yelled, dropping the gun.
Nathan quickly pulled you aside and grabbed the weapon. With no remorse, he shot Braddock on both thighs, once more on the arm to be petty.
He'd do much worse if you weren't on borrowed time.
Nathan grabbed your hand and made a run for it.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-
The silence was tense.
But Nathan was focused on taking care of you first.
He was busy enough trying not to cry whenever he'd discover a new cut and bruise on you that he couldn't even dwell on the fact that you were showering together. You were both in your underwear, but still.
It was when he had you sitting on the counter as he patched you up when you spoke.
"You didn't have to do all that for me."
"You know, it hurts me so much that you think I wouldn't take a bullet for you," he sighed, finishing up a bandage before meeting your glossy eyes. "You're more important to me than you think you are."
"No, I know it's just—" You bit your bruised lip. Nathan quickly pulled it away with his thumb, not wanting you to worsen your injury. You leaned into his touch as you continued, "You've been dreaming of this since you were a kid and I feel like I've ruined it for you."
"You didn't ruin anything."
"But you should be out there looking for the gold," you said. "Instead you're stuck here with me."
"Listen to me, if I had to choose between that gold and—" He took a breath, holding your face in both hands as he stared at you longingly. "The woman I'm hopelessly in love with then…"
Nathan breathed out with a smile, "Fuck that gold."
You stared at him in a way that made him believe that he'd done it.
He'd finally ruined your friendship to a point of no return.
That until you broke out into the sweetest, brightest smile that made his heart grow and his knees weak all the same.
"It's not as hopeless as you think it is."
Nathan felt like his heart was about to burst.
"Yeah?" He grinned, giddy and warm, gently parting your legs and stepping a little closer.
You let him into your space. But suddenly your brows furrowed, frowning. "What about you and Chloe?"
"So you were jealous."
"Nate."
"There's no me and Chloe," he reassured, gently taking your hands, kissing the insides of your wrists before placing them on his shoulders. "Maybe I got the incredibly stupid idea to make you jealous—I know, baby, I'm an idiot—but she shot that down real quick."
"But—"
"Those times you've seen me with her, all I kept talking about was you," he admitted, blushing. "I'm sure she'd grown sick of me being lovesick."
Nathan probably talked her ear out about how hopelessly in love he was with you, seeking advice on what to do because it was the one thing he couldn't go to you about.
She had been really helpful, pushing him to confess because it was better you know before it's too late, and that in this line of work, you'd never know when that would be.
If only he hadn't let his cowardness win.
"She argued with me that leaving you behind was a bad idea, and if I listened to her I—" He pressed his forehead against yours with a shaky breath. "I'm sorry."
"I know you like to take all the blame but this isn't your fault," you hummed, fingers combing the straggles of hair on the nape of his neck.
"It kind of is," he pressed, eyes watering as he thought about what he dragged you into.
He couldn't stop thinking about the pain you'd gone through all because he was being reckless. For as long as he could remember, he made a vow to himself to always keep you safe no matter what. Yet here he was, failing at that—failing you.
"I'm sorry for being such a shitty best friend this past week," he said, caressing the apples of your cheeks.
"You were pretty shitty," you teased, though he could see the way your body relaxed a little. He could tell that you appreciated hearing his apology. It must've been weighing on you since you left.
It made his heart ache.
"I was and I'm sorry," he said regretfully. "I guess I just got so caught up in this whole treasure-hunting thing that I lost sight of what's truly important to me. But still, it's no excuse. I was the one who dragged you into this, I should've been attentive enough."
You turned your head and kissed his palm, a silent way of saying it was okay. He felt like he was about to melt.
"And I'm sorry for taking so goddamn long to tell you how I feel," Nathan admitted.
"Yeah well," you hummed, smiling at him sweetly. "We're both at fault on that one,"
"Still, I'm sorry," he whispered, brushing the tip of his nose against yours. "For everything."
You nodded, a smile on your lips. "I can't say I forgive yet—"
"Understandable."
"But hey," you hummed, leaning closer. "You have plenty of time to grovel and make up for it."
Nathan chuckled, brushing his lips against yours with a whisper, "Can I start with a kiss?"
You nodded with that cute giggle of yours, one that still echoed as he finally closed the distance.
So many things filled him up at once—soft, sweet, warm. So many emotions rattling his heart as your lips molded into one—relief, passion, love.
It was gratifying, a kiss he'd been dreaming of for as long as he could remember. But, with your fingers in his hair and his hands on your waist, your warm body flushed to his with no space in between, nothing could ever compare to the real thing.
And yes, it was going to take some time to repair the cracks that were made in your relationship. But he was willing to wait and do whatever it takes to gain your full trust back.
Nathan didn't care how long or how much work it would take, as long as at the end of every day, you came back home to him—it was more than worth it.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-
"Kid, are you even listening to me?"
"Sorry, Sully," Nathan said unapologetically. "But whatever the wife says, goes and her plan is usually better than yours."
"I'm technically not your wife yet," you giggled, your engagement ring glinting as you continued bypassing the security cameras using your phone.
"Technically, yes," he agreed, shrugging. "But in my head, you've been my wife ever since you put that ring on."
"Always thinking ahead, huh?" You finished up the job, slipping your phone into your pocket before turning to him with a raised brow.
"Oh yeah," he hummed, pulling you closer by the waist. "And once we get married, in my head, we already have three kids."
"Three?" you choked out a laugh.
"Five?"
"Let's start with one and see where that goes."
"We should definitely practice later."
"Do I always have to remind you two that this is an open line?"
"Oh we know," Nathan hummed, kissing you with a loud smack which earned an annoyed groan. He then gestured at the door with a bow. "After you, Mrs. Drake."
"Still up for debate."
"I'd take your last name any day."
"I was thinking hyphenated."
"Not a bad shout."
"Get moving you two!"
"Sully, you're getting so close to getting your wedding invite revoked."
You laughed at that.
Nathan couldn't resist kissing you once more.
"Let's go," you giggled against his lips. "We still have treasure to find."
"I'm in no rush," he shrugged, brushing his nose against yours. He was sure his eyes were glowing with pure adoration. "Already got the best one right here."
You groaned and called him cheesy but you still kissed him anyway.
Treasure be damned, with you by his side, Nathan was the richest man alive.

masterlist ⎸ listen
when you first met nate, you were instantly intrigued by him. the two of you first introduced yourselves when he started working at the same bar as you. everyone else there loved him almost instantly, because who wouldn’t? he was sarcastic, witty, charming, and knew how to crack a good joke every now and again.
and, of course, he was extremely good looking.
the two of you got pretty close after consistently working shifts together. it was a friendship no one really saw coming, and didn’t seem to make sense to anyone but the two of you. of course, the closer you two got, the more your feelings for him grew. the little moments between the two of you stuck in your mind like glue, never slipping from your mind. as depressing as it seemed, you didn’t want them to fade, even if it hurt to look back on them.
you two were giggling about nothing, the city lights of new york city pouring into the room from the windows. you were leaning on your elbow, feet resting on his legs, with a bottle of rosé sitting on the floor. at the same time, the two of you talked about anything and everything.
“you know, i never understood the appeal of new york until i moved here,” you looked out the window, oblivious to the fact that his eyes wandered to your face, taking you in, “could be because i always thought it was overrated.”
he chuckled, grabbing the bottle and taking a sip from it before responding, “yeah, it’s definitely not the kind of city that's made for everyone.”
you nodded in agreement, “it grew on me. nowhere else really feels like home anymore.”
“understandable,” he replied. the music playing softly in the background slowly faded, the vinyl playing through to the end. he tapped your legs lightly, signaling you to move them. he let out a soft grunt as he stood, making his way to the record player.
“what’s next?” you asked, taking your own swig of the wine. you two had decided to open it about an hour ago, and the bottle was almost finished. you could feel the warmth in your face and you could tell your cheeks were red from the alcohol.
he hummed, putting the record back in its sleeve before skimming through your collection. his fingers stopped over one of them, pulling it out and placing it on the turntable, “something we haven’t heard in a while.”
you smiled softly as he adjusted the needle to fall to one specific spot in the vinyl, listening as one of your favorite slow songs began playing through the speakers. you smiled as he walked back over to you with his hands out for you to take them. he pulled you up to your feet, grinning as you met his gaze again.
“dance with me?”
you rolled your eyes playfully, arms wrapping around his neck as his found their home on your waist,
“always.”
the two of you swayed to the music, your head falling to his chest as you looked out the window to the city lights again.
you could stay like this forever.
you and nate were everyone's favorite couple to talk about. everyone knew how in love you were with him, and how he felt the same about you. your friends would always be the first to ask when the wedding was whenever you got together to catch up, and you’d both shake your heads and laugh, reminding them that it’s still a little too soon.
as you and nate started getting more serious, so did his relationship with sully. you knew about nate’s past, and he had let you know that he’s always wanted to find this treasure both his father and brother talked about. you had honestly tried your best to understand in vain, but supported him through his decisions regardless of your views.
the more serious the treasure hunting got, though, the less serious your relationship became. you felt like you had been placed on the back burner of his life, and it was crushing to feel so unwanted, unneeded, and pushed aside while you still loved him with every fiber of your being.
it ended in a fight. of course.
“nate, do you not hear yourself right now?!” you yelled, standing in the living room of your apartment in disbelief. he had just told you that he was going with sully to barcelona to pursue more questionable clues about treasure no one was even sure actually existed.
“do you hear yourself?” he replied, spinning your words back on you, “come on, you’re supposed to support me, not tear me down.”
“i’m not - i am! and i have been, in case you haven't noticed! but you’re telling me that you’d rather go off and possibly die over something you're not even certain exists; all for what? the adrenaline? the thrill of thinking you’ll possibly be recognized from it? i mean, you can’t even tell me that you love me, for gods sake! but you want to go halfway across the country for some made up treasure hunt without a second thought?!”
you knew your words were hurtful. but honestly, you wanted them to be. after everything he had said and done, part of you just wanted him to know how it felt to be in your shoes.
“you know it’s more than that! this is what my entire family has been after for years. ages before i ever even met you!” he said,“it’s my only chance of figuring out where my brother could be, too. how could you not get this?”
you knew how important his brother was for him, and when you saw the tears glistening in his eyes, you almost felt bad, almost stopped, almost apologized. you didn't, though, continuing,”how do you even know sam is still alive, nate? how many months has it been since you’ve even gotten a postcard?!”
he scoffed, turning away from looking at you as he gathered his things,”if you can’t respect the fact that i have to do this, that i need to at least try and find out for sure if he is alive or not, then i don’t know what i’m still doing here.”
you swallowed thickly, blinking back tears, refusing to let him see you cry over him,”and what if you die? what am i supposed to do then?”
he stopped, looking back at you, face growing cold as he threw his backpack over his shoulder, “dead or not, you can just forget about me for all i care.”
you watched as he left, the door slamming on his way out. you let the tears fall as soon as he was gone, hand covering your mouth as you let out a quiet sob.
you didn’t hear from him again.
you had no way of knowing if he even was alive, or not. the desire for information, any information, made you understand a bit more where he was coming from regarding his brother.
that didn't make you feel any better.
you walked through the streets of new york, headphones in your ears as you made your way back to your apartment after work.
you tried your best to move on, friends set you up on dates with guys they thought you’d like. you only let a couple stay around. you hated to admit it, but you just couldn’t move past nate. you knew you had to, at this point there was no sense in trying to fix something so beyond broken.
you made your way into the complex, getting out your keys and unlocking your door. as you stepped in and kicked off your shoes, you turned the lamp on.
you jumped at the figure sitting on the couch, tugging an earbud out as you shut the door,”nate?”
he smiled softly, standing as he wiped his palms against the material of his pants. his face was littered in small cuts and bruises. you stood there staring at him, trying to decipher if this was real or just your imagination.
“i’m real, don’t worry.” he said, almost like he could read your mind.
“what the hell are you doing here?” you asked, crossing your arms as you looked at him up and down.
“i, uhm… honestly, i don’t really know.”
“you don’t know?” you asked incredulously, “so you just invited yourself into my apartment after months of letting me wonder if you were even alive? months after breaking up with me without a second thought, all because you decided some childhood fantasy was worth more than i was?”
he sighed, “look, please don’t start this-“
you cut him off, “get out.”
he stared at you blankly, but you stood tall with your arms crossed.
“please - just let me explain.”
you shook your head, grabbing the jacket that sat on the back of the couch, “no, really, i don’t care. please get out of my apartment. now.”
he sighed softly, grabbing the jacket as he approached you. you stepped back when he got close, waving him towards the door and he nodded, resigning and reaching for the doorknob; stopping briefly on his way out to look over his shoulder as he touched it.
“i did really love you, you know? hell, i never stopped loving you,” he admitted, “i wanted to find that treasure so we could build a happy life together, no other reason.”
you couldn’t tell if he was making it up so he could stay or not. it didn't matter, anyways.
you weren't about to let the months you spent healing yourself come crumbling down because he finally wanted to tell you how he felt - if there even was any truth to his words. you had worked too hard and cried too much to let that happen.
you watched as he opened the front door, slipping out into the hallway as he closed it behind him, walking out of your life once again, not saying another word.
you locked the door and pressed your back up against the cool wood, sliding down as your knees pressed against your chest. you let the tears fall down your cheeks and onto your neck, sniffling quietly to yourself, feeling absolutely defeated.
you looked out the windows, the city lights glistening as the rain slowly trickled down the window, thinking about how you’d do anything just to be able to feel the same way you did when you danced with him in your bedroom. you loved him more than you could ever love anyone else, including yourself. you wished you could turn it off, but you knew your feelings weren't going to go anywhere. you hated him for leaving you, but at the same time you were overwhelmed with all the love you held for him with nowhere to go.
maybe you had been a bit too hard on him, but you had vowed to yourself that you’d never let someone make you feel like a second choice again. never again. you couldn't take the risk of letting the person that led you to make that vow back in your life.
you had begged to feel loved by nathan drake, but he was unable to love someone. not until it was too late.

Day 23: Sex Pollen
Fandom: Unchrted
Character: Nathan Drake
Warnings: needy Drake, p in v, aphrodisiac, cream pie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was suppose to be something easy, but when does exploring for some treasure an asshole pirate left behind ever easy. You and Nathan were following some trail on a map, he insisted this was the way to where the abandoned ship was.
He was a few feet ahead of your, a laugh escaped his lips. You couldn’t tell what he was looking at but it seemed to entertain him.
“Hey Y/n. Check out this strange flower.” Bending down, Nathan had never seen a flower like this, it seemed to be shimmering though the moment he touch the thing he was surrounded by a cloud of pollen. Inhaling it was a bad thing but you combing near it would be worst.
Raising his hand, he stopped you. Not letting you come close. He could already see your concerned gaze. “I’m fine.” He said in between cough’s, his vision blurred for a moment and suddenly his body felt hot, way to hot. His pulse quickened, his mouth felt dry. Nathan didn’t even notice that he had stumbled into your arms.
“God Nathan! You’re burning up?”
Letting out a weak laugh, Nathan clutched you tightly. Inhaling the scent of your perfume as his fingers dug into your hips pulling you closer to his chest. “Really? I feel fine.”
Closing your eyes, you did your best to remember the plants you read in the book as Nathan continued to nuzzle into tile skin. “Okay, we’ll we need to get you back to the hotel…you got hit with a special flower and I do not think being stuck here is good for you Nathan.”
Letting out a whine, Nathan rutted against your backside. “I want to stay here, you smell so good.” He whispered.
Gritting your teeth you shook his head grasping a hold of his wrist as you pulled him along back to where you tied the boat off. “We’re heading back, now Nathan.”
Despite how heated his skin was, how turned on he was he couldn’t help but feel happy knowing you were worried for him. “You’re so hot.”
It was a long journey back, the treasure long forgotten as Nathan pressed you into the bed. The man’s lips on your neck. His erection pressed against your hips as he did his best to get more skin on skin contact.
“N-Nathan.”
“I’m sorry beautiful, but I can’t hold myself back.” Nathan whispered against your neck, his teeth grazing and sucking the skin as his fingers dipped into your shorts and panties.
Biting your lip, you bucked your hips against his fingers. Your nails digging into the hotel sheets, you would have joked for Nathan to take care of himself but who knew how long this would last. “N-Nathan.”
“God, I love how you say my name.” Pulling his hands out of your shorts, he gave you a wink as he tugged your clothes off. If did not take long for himself to get naked. Biting you lip, your eyes ran over his body as your hand moved to cup his cheek.
Nathan leaned into your touch, savoring the gentle caress of your hand on his cheek. Your words and smile warmed him far more than any lake water ever could.
"I guess we owe that pesky flower a debt of gratitude," he murmured with a small chuckle. Leaning in, he captured your lips again in a lingering kiss. All thoughts of pollen and aphrodisiacs faded as he poured his soul into expressing how long he had yearned for this.
As the kiss deepened, your closeness in the water gradually reignited the heat simmering in his blood. A low growl rumbled in his throat as he swept you into his arms, wanting - no, needing - to feel your curves pressed fully against his eager body.
"Y/n”he breathed huskily between kisses along your jawline. "I want you so badly. Tell me this is what you want too." One hand slid down your back to cup your backside possessive yet sensually. "Let me show you how much I love you." His arousal was evident where it nestled hotly between your thighs.
Nathan’s breath caught at your explicit consent. Days of pent up longing and desire boiled over, an inferno engulfing any semblance of rational thought and restraint.
Crushing his mouth to yours in a fierce, starved kiss, he hauled your body against his hardness, intoxicated by the feel of you at last in his arms. You gasped into his mouth as his erection ground against your heat.
Breaking the kiss with a groan, he grasped your thighs and lifted you effortlessly to wrap your legs around his waist. Turning his head, he nipped along your neck, laving his tongue over every sensitive spot he discovered.
"You looked too good..." He muttered raggedly against your skin. His hands roamed your body with unrestrained hunger, pausing to palm your breasts and roll a pebble hard nipple between his fingers.
He found your entrance with his thick length. Locking eyes with you, he slid inside with one deep thrust, until he was fully seated to the hilt. Your gasp of pleasure at being filled so wholly and a low masculine groan of satisfying left you both teetering on the edge.
Nathan began to move, withdrawing almost fully before surging back in a relentless rhythm. His mouth devoured yours ravenously, swallowing every moan and sigh as sheer bliss cascaded through him. You were far better than any treasure he discovered, any city he found. Soft moans escaping your lips, as you begged for more.
Nathan groaned at your soft moans, making him fuck into you even harder and faster. The animalistic side surging to the surface in his unrestrained claiming of you.
"Shit" he growled gutturally, nipping your earlobe between his teeth. He felt wildly out of control but you were right there with him, meeting each powerful thrust and clawing at his back.
Hooking one arm under your knee, he hit an even deeper angle that had you screaming his name to the heavens. The sound only served to further unravel his tenuous hold on sanity.
He could feel the tension coiling impossibly tighter low in his abdomen. Glancing down between your joined bodies, the erotic sight of his glistening cock pounding relentlessly into your soaked cunt had him seeing stars.
"I'm so close...Come with me baby, I want to feel you clench around me," he pleaded roughly. Sliding a hand between your sticky thighs, he began rubbing tight circles over your engorged clit in time with his piston thrusts. A few more strokes and you would fly over the edge into ecstasy.
Your eyes sliding closed, you begged for him to fill you, to breed you as your back arched off the bed.
Your sinfully erotic words and blatant encouragement were the final straw for Nathan’s fraying restraint. At your command to "breed you", his mind went blank, the thoughts took over fully with a primal roar.
As your walls convulsed deliciously around his throbbing length, milking him for all he was worth, he lost himself completely to instinct. His hips snapped at a punishing pace, repeatedly spearing your quivering cunt with his engorged cock.
"Mine," he snarled possessively, attacking your lips voraciously. One hand clenched your thigh in an unyielding grip while the other relentlessly plucked your clit, prolonging your screaming orgasm.
His own release hit like a freight train, detonating through him in burning waves as he slammed his hips flush against yours one final time. Thick spurts of molten seed flooded your velvety core, his primal grunts of satisfaction echoing around you amidst the fading echoes of your squeals.
Still locked intimately together, his labored breaths stirred your hair as he barely held your boneless form aloft with his arms. Gradually the frenzied haze lifted from his eyes, leaving only a sated glow of deep intimacy and devotion. Gazing down at your flushed, ravished appearance, his mouth curved in a wolfish smile of ownership and affection. "Mine."

making out w nathan drake good lorD
so hot pls 🥵
Tumblr media
you'd both had a little too much to drink after celebrating the success of your mission. your glasses clinked as you both took long swigs of your champagne. once you'd finished what was in your glasses, you sipped from the bottle and nathan looked at you incredulously.
"you amaze me," he said looking at you with doe eyes his own glass now discarded. he wasn't just talking about the mission. this wasn't the first time you'd worked together. everything about you amazed him. could you blame him for developing the tiniest of crushes on you?
"back at you," you replied playfully winking and you heard him chuckle as he took the bottle from your hand taking a long sip making sure he was making eye contact. you watched the way his lips wrapped around the bottle and you gulped feeling the temperature rise in the room.
that's what started it.
before you knew it you were pressed against him, hands on his cheeks holding him as your lips molded together. his hands were on your back keeping you close not daring to let go.
you let your arms slip around his neck as his hands traveled down your back. his fingers rested near the top of your ass as you subconsciously moaned into his mouth when they dug gently into the fabric of your shorts.
the kiss was heated, heads moving in sync finding the best angle for your tongues to mix. you could taste all the assortment of alcohol the two of you had been sipping on all night and it all made you more desperate to feel him close. you pressed your thigh between his legs and he audibly groaned pulling away.
looking at him with confusion you wondered if you'd done something wrong, but he only lifted you so your thighs were wrapped around him, his hands firmly on your ass holding you as he walked you towards the kitchen table.
your lips connected again and you whimpered as he sat you on the hard surface, him between your legs and hands on your thighs digging into your skin.
the kisses traveled down your neck and you couldn't think of any other way of celebrating than nathan on top of you.

"New Years Eve was supposed to be fun – instead we ended up in a prison cell. This is your fault." with nathan roping the reader into a quick job before they were going to go celebrate new year’s eve and they got caught stealing something
one of my favorite blurbs to write because just like nathan im also a history whore 😳
pairing: nathan drake x reader
winter blurbs 2.0 ❄️ | 2.0 masterlist ❄️
Tumblr media
nathan hated cathedrals. it was a fact that there was an unspoken dispute between him and the nuns. you never knew why because he was oddly silent about his past– and this was the case when you were his best friend. all you knew about him was that he had an older brother who left him in one when they were kids.
you were all he had left now. not your own words, he’d told you so on various occasions.
but when he asked you to accompany on another hiest at santa maria delle grazie. it was 3:54 am when you found yourself holding a torch to help nathan.
“did you know, against the tradition, leonardo da vinci used oil to paint ‘the last supper’ on wet plaster.” the brunette explained as the two of you passed the mural.
“why do all your historical facts surface while we’re stealing stuff.” you rolled your eyes.
“it’s a historical place!” he whisper-yelled at you.
“can we get that cross already?” you sighed.
“it’s not just a cross, it’s a key to one of the greatest lost treasures of all times. when ferdinand magellan set to sail across the world-” twixt all his rambling, his hand wrapped around yours, pulling you over to wherever this ‘key’ was. your heart did a flip even though you told yourself it was just anxiety in case you got caught, “if we found that thing, it would be the best new year’s present ever.”
“nate.” you flashed your torch towards the glass case, signalling to your partner in crime that you found the golden cross.
he rushed the two of you over, already trying to figure out a way to hack the keypad lock to open the case.
what the two of you hadn’t noticed was the presence of a third party– more like a fleet of police officers. apparently one of the nuns at the cathedral had called the cops.
and so what could have been a beginning to the best new year of your lives, turned into a buzzkill. nate paced around the prison cell while you sat in a corner, “it was right in front of us.” nathan complained dejectedly.
“new years eve was supposed to be fun – instead we ended up in a prison cell. this is your fault.” you voiced your thoughts. nate gave you an apologetic look.
“i know. i’m sorry about that.”
you parted the space beside you in attempt to call him to sit with you. he trudged over, sitting beside you with crossed legs, “i guess you could call that a little bit of fun.” you chuckled making him do the same.
the dull yellow of the bulb inside the dungeon and the pale moonlight peeking in from outside lit up nate’s eyes as you stared into them. for a moment you thought he was leaning in, but for all you knew you were being delusional.
you blinked a few times to break out of this trance you’d put yourself in. however, you were proven right– and wrong, respectively– when a pair of soft lips was placed over yours.
nathan’s breath fanned against your cupid’s bow as he moved his lips against yours, sliding a hand behind your neck to pull you closer.
as soon as the two of you parted, a content sigh left nathan’s throat, “i promise to get us out of here before new year, baby.”

Acceptable Cliche : Nathan Drake x Reader
Description: 8.2k wc request from @theslayerofthevampires for Nathan Drake pining for a jiu jitsu black belt during a heist, only for her to get kidnapped and need rescuing.
Warnings: violence, kidnapping, guns, blood, fighting, cursing
Tumblr media
Key: y/f/n-> your friend’s name, y/f/a/d-> your favorite alcoholic drink, r/a/d/n: random alcoholic drink name, y/a-> your age
“Remind me why we need her?” Sully asked, his irritation clear in his voice.
“One, it is not up to you, this is my plan. Two, she is a black belt and can kick your ass if you step out of line” Kristin said, smirking.
Nate laughed loudly and covered his mouth.
“When will she be here? We need to get going” Sully complained.
“Morning to you too Sully” y/n rolled her eyes, “for the record, I’ve been here for three hours, you’re late, not me”.
“The kid needed extra time for his hair” Sully lied, trying to cover the fact that he was the cause for the delay by embarrassing Nate.
Nate glared at sully and shook his head.
“Hello, my-“ Nate began, holding his hand out to y/n.
Sully cut him off, pushing his hand down, “this is Nathan. First lesson kid, don’t let her touch your hand unless you enjoy laying on the ground”.
Y/n laughed and smirked, “oh Sully, still holding a grudge over that?”
“You see, he wasn’t introducing himself, Nathan, he grabbed my wrist to try and steal a map from me” y/n explained, facing sully next, “funny how you love leaving out the details”.
“Details or not, it was an overreaction don’t you think?” Sully groaned, Nate pressing his lips together as he tried not to laugh.
“I can handle you trying to steal from me, even when we’re supposed to be partners. I’m not naive enough to ever rely on you or trust you Sully. But, you crossed the line by touching me in doing so, now you know better hmm?” She smirked, tightening the strap on her backpack.
Nate watched her intrigued and wishing he’d been able to watch y/n force sully to the floor.
Sully ignored her and walked towards the airport exit, “let’s go kid”.
“Kid? How old are you Nathan?” Y/n asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
“I’m (y/n age + 2yrs) and you can call me Nate” he said, trying to shake her hand again.
She hesitated briefly, eyeing Sully before looking back at Nate.
“Y/n. He does know you’re not a kid right?” Y/n laughed, shaking his hand.
“I’m fairly certain” Nate shrugged, “I think it’s just a nickname he uses to try and insult me”.
Y/n hummed, “not your fault you’re not ancient like him”.
Nate laughed and nodded, his cheeks rosy, “he says it gives him experience”.
Y/n rolled her eyes, “if that makes him feel better about his age, sure. His track record has yet to make that matter though”.
“How long have you been doing this?” Nate asked, walking next to y/n as she began following sully to the exit.
“Working with sully or in general?” she questioned, looking over at him.
“Both” he answered, wanting to know as much about the beautiful and funny girl next to him as he could.
“With Sully, about three years I think, off and on of course” she smirked, “overall, five years”.
“Five years?” Nate asked, his voice low.
He watches as she bites her lip, “yeah… my… friend got me into it at a young age…”
“Oh, Kristen?” Nate asked, looking towards them.
“No. She is merely a coworker” she explained.
“So you and your friend went separate ways then?” Nate asked curiously.
“Mmm… I guess you could say that, yeah” she answered vaguely, not looking at him.
In fact she was staring straight forward but not seeing anything other than y/f/N’s face the last time she saw them.
Nate could sense he shouldn’t push so he just nodded, “I understand. How old are you then?”
“You know it’s not polite to ask a woman her age right?” Y/n pointed out teasingly.
Nate’s face flushed red, “oh..! Right! Sorry, no it’s just that-“.
“I’m messing with you” y/n laughed, pushing Nate’s shoulder softly.
However, Nate noticed while it was playful she had a decent force behind it even when controlled.
No wonder she’d been able to take down sully.
“Once again I’m the youngest, explaining Sully’s deeper irritation than normal. I’m y/a” y/n told him.
“Ignore him, I’m sure you’ve learned by now he’s just an ass most of the time” Nate encouraged, his cheeks still red from his slip up.
“True” y/n laughed, “yet, I hear you’ve been working directly with him for over two years now?”
Nate shrugged, “there’s worse people out there and we all need someone to rely on to have our back no matter who you have to team up with or where”.
Y/n slowly nodded and hummed quietly, “trust…”.
“You don’t have someone like that, do you?” Nate asked cautiously as they stepped outside into the humidity.
She shook her head, “it’s easier that way”.
“How so?” He inquired, raising an eyebrow at her as Sully glares at him from across the parking lot.
“No one to lose or be betrayed by. It also keeps you alert to everyone and everything “ she explained, her voice distant.
Nate analyzed her body language, hoping it would show something that explained what she was referring to.
But she clearly masked her feelings well enough to hide any signs.
——
“Fine, but I’m not going in to save you when it doesn’t work out that way” y/n argued, sipping on her y/f/a/d.
“You mean if, and are you even old enough to drink that?” Sully remarked.
“No, I mean when. It will go to shit as soon as you walk in there trying to pretend you belong there” y/n corrected, flipping him off, “and you know I am, bite me”.
“Just making sure Nate here wasn’t going to lose his bartending license by supplying a minor” sully joked, glaring down at the event flyer on the table before him.
“Sully, enough. She’s not a minor and that’s not even how that works” Nate defended, rolling his eyes.
“What do you suggest then?” Sully asked, looking up from the flyer.
“How good are you at undercover?” She asked Nate.
“I-“ he began, sully cutting him off again.
“He needs to stop touching his earpiece but otherwise he cleans up decent” sully joked making Nate groan.
“Says the man in camo shorts” y/n smirked as Nate chuckled, “moving on, are you comfortable going undercover then?”
Nate nodded, “what-“.
“He’ll do it, just tell us what to-“ sully sighed, interrupting Nate yet again.
“I was not asking you” y/n said, cutting sully off in retaliation.
Nate smirked, giving her a thankful glance, “I am, thank you. What did you have in mind?”.
——
“How is this better than what I had planned?” Sully complained, sitting in the corner of the cramped storage room they were using as a makeshift headquarters.
“You mean other than in every way?” Nate smirked, shaking his head.
Sully glared, “I’m getting fed up with your flirting kid”.
Nate’s eyes widened as he looked away from the group, “I wasn’t flirting”.
“If you say s-“ Sully laughed.
“Enough, we are on a time limit here. Grow up Sully” y/n reprimanded, irritated he was putting the attempt and potentially their lives in danger.
“Alright, so as long as you keep these facing the subject, Sully and I will be able to see your surroundings” Kristen said as she secured the microscopic camera to the knot in Nate’s tie.
“Y/n, you know the drill. Just don’t break this one please” Kristen joked with a wink.
“I’m not making any promises. We need to go, ready?” Y/n asked looking at Nate.
He smiled politely and nodded.
As y/n stepped into the hall, she straightened her dress more now that she actually had room to do so.
She looked behind her and sighed when she saw Nate had stopped to talk to Sully about who knows what.
She rolled her eyes, departing solo as to not lose their chance to find their target.
“I’m just saying, she’s trouble” Sully warned.
“She’s trouble when you cause her trouble” Nate laughed.
“I’m serious kid. You don’t know her like I do” Sully told him.
Nate suspected he was right but not in the way he thought.
Seeing Nate wasn’t responding, sully added, “Just don’t let her distract you. Get in, when we identify the correct person, help her lead them to a more isolated area and will step in to get the information we need from them”.
Nate rolled his eyes, “I am not going to get distracted”.
——
“Nate, could you spare a few seconds to actually look at the guests’ faces so we can find Johnson. Staring at y/n isn’t helping us here” Sully fussed through the earpiece.
Nate blushed bright red knowing they were all in the same communications channel so y/n heard.
“Shut up Sully” Nate remarked, hoping y/n would take it as sully joking.
He began quickly turning so the camera in his tie could scan the guests’ faces for to process.
Johnson was a twin and his slightly older brother (by 6 minutes) was the dangerous one.
The younger twin would have information on where the chest was being hidden without alerting the older twin as they no longer spoke.
Yet, they were both set to be at this gala so it was important they ensured which twin they were speaking to.
“Kid, you’re overcompensating now, slow it down so the camera can focus” Sully laughed.
Nate groaned quietly.
Nate followed as y/n guided the guest that had identified as the young twin to the hallway.
“Do I want to know how Kristen will get him to point us in the right way?” Nate whispered.
“It’s not through torture if that’s what you’re thinking” y/n assured him, “I wouldn’t agreed if that were the case. Kristen has a way of knowing people’s secrets”.
“She knows his then?” Nate asked a bit louder.
“We aren’t going to-“ the younger twin asked, his mind clearly sobering up as he turned to face y/n.
“Don’t finish that sentence” y/n cringed, hating how she had lead him on to convince him to follow her.
The man frowned making Nathan smirk; thinking about how the man was far too old for y/n.
——
“How did you know that?” Sully asked as the trio rejoined him in the cramped closet.
“Does not matter” Kristen said.
“My portion is done here, call me when you find the chest hmm” Kristen grinned, closing the laptop she brought.
“That’s it? I’m stuck with y/n for this? Why? You didn’t even need her, I could’ve gotten Johnson to the hall” Sully growled.
“As funny as it would be to watch you try to flirt with him,” Kristen said, smirking, “y/n is the only one I trust to be able to handle my interrogation suspects should I get their motivation factor or secret incorrect and have it go wrong”.
Y/n winked at sully tauntingly, Nate watching the interaction with amusement.
“Besides, you should know just how valuable she can be on a trip like this. Suck it up and find the damn chest “ Kristen pointed out, slipping the laptop into her bag and waving goodbye to y/n.
Sully glared at y/n, “let’s get out of here”.
——
“He really has it out for you” Nate admitted, joining y/n on the patio of the hotel suite the three had rented.
“He has for years” she told him, staring in the distance as she drank her y/f/a/d.
“Why? It can’t just be you hurting his ego and toxic masculinity. What is it?” Nate asked, concern evident in his voice.
“If you’re worried I did something to him, you’d be wrong” y/n defended gruffly, “it’s like you said, he’s just an ass”.
Nate sighed and took a swig of his drink.
“You don’t want anything other than y/f/a/d?”Nate questioned as she finished her glass.
“Why, should I?” She asked him, her voice back to normal.
“I mean y/f/a/d is really simple, the suite has a full bar and it’s on Sully’s card” Nate smirked.
Y/n laughed and nodded, “as fun as that would be, y/f/a/d is my favorite and somewhat of a good luck ritual if you will”.
Nate smiled at the fact she was opening up to him.
As trusting as Nate always was, and still is, he understood why many in this field weren’t.
Anyone can betray anyone.
Especially when it comes to treasures worth millions and millions of dollars.
Add in the fact he suspected something happened between y/f/n and y/n, and having worked with someone as untrustworthy as Sully before, suddenly her silence and the walls she built high around herself were more than understandable.
Whether it was the alcohol, exhaustion from the international flight and heist earlier, or her actually trusting him in a small way didn’t matter; Nate was just excited to get to know her more.
——
Y/n rolled her eyes as she threw her bag onto the couch in the shared living room space between their bedroom doors.
“You’re blaming me still?” Sully scoffed.
“Who else would be to blame Sully?” Nate argued, annoyed as well.
“You two are ridiculous” Sully argued, “she attacked me!”
“Because you clearly pissed her off last time you two saw each other” y/n accused, flopping onto the couch next to the bag.
“You did call her some… rather abrasive names” Nate recalled.
“Fantastic Sully. Any other exes of your’s we should be worried about running into?” She asked rubbing her jaw.
Nate walked silently to the empty ice bucket in their suite.
“You’re worried about my exes?” He laughed harshly, “like you’re one to speak”.
The look on y/N’s face didn’t go unnoticed and Nate saw the regret as it crossed Sully’s face.
He wasn’t sure what his mentor was referencing but it clearly was uncalled for.
“Y/n,” sully said, his voice apologetic.
She waved him off, “it’s whatever Sully. I had it coming”.
Sully sighed, walking towards her.
Nate wanted to hear the continuation of the conversation but knew she could handle herself so he chose to fill the ice bucket instead.
——
“Here,” Nate offered, passing a makeshift ice pack to y/n.
“Thanks Nate “ she smiled timidly, placing the frozen ziplock bag onto her jaw.
“You going to take care of your lip?” She asked, looking at the bucket still containing ice.
“There was only one bag, plus it’s fine” he said.
“Don’t try to be all macho Nate, ice your damn lip” she rolled her eyes, handing him the ice pack.
He sighed, “it isn’t that bad, you’re the one who got clocked without warning “.
Her cheeks flushed pink, “yeah, I hate seeing Braddock. It has been years though, it threw me off a bit. It won’t happen again, I’m usually better than this”.
“Hey, it’s not your fault” Nate promised.
“That’s sweet but your lip is busted because I was slow to see what she was up to. We’re likely going to run into her team again, and when we do, I’ll be better at keeping you and Sully unharmed” she swore.
Nate set his hand on her knee tenderly, “it really is fine. I’ve had far worse. I believe you, you don’t need to prove yourself or your skills to me”.
She smiled as a nonverbal thank you, “why don’t we share the ice? That’s the only way I’ll compromise”.
Nate laughed and nodded, “alright deal”.
Sully watched silently as y/n and Nate passed the homemade ice pack between each other every few minutes.
The one without the ice would talk about whatever it was they were conversing about.
When finishing their sentence or story, they’d switch.
He elected not to interrupt, already having already crossed a line with y/n earlier and having warned Nate to not get attached.
Instead, he simply reminded them the time they agreed to get up and plan tomorrow before he went to his room.
——
Weeks had passed with no progress, making the younger treasure hunters irritated so Sully took their group to a diner that night for drinks to get them to calm down.
“We’re not getting any closer to locating it and I swear if Braddock interferes one more damn time” Nate groaned, drinking the beer in his hand.
“To be fair, this is nothing. At least we’re all safe… for now” y/n remarked.
“What is it with you and Braddock anyways?” Nate asked as he watched her look over the drink menu.
“Nate” Sully seethed under his breath.
“It’s a valid question Sully” y/n sighed, looking up from the menu, “one I’ll attempt to answer after I figure out what the hell to order”.
“You may want to do the r/a/d, it is the closest to y/f/a/d, ingredient wise” Nate advised.
“Ugh, stop flirting and showing off. She gets it, you’re a bartender” Sully laughed, shaking his head.
“You know, it’s actually the only real red flag about him so….” y/n said, jokingly, “but as far as deciding on my drink order, it’ll do”.
“Oh, red flag hmm? How so?” Nate smirked, his crossed arms pressed on the table as he leaned towards her.
She shrugged, “in my experience bar tenders are all egotistical, and or, like to try to hook up with every attractive girl who walks into their bar, even if they have a girlfriend at home”.
“Max definitely didn’t deserve y/f/n” Sully agreed, shocking Nate at the change from his usual type of response to y/n.
Nate wasn’t sure what happened but the tone shifted and he sensed y/n was uncomfortable so he tried to fix it.
“So my bartending is a red flag, but my stealing isn’t?” Nate smirked.
She blushed, “I can live with that, so long as it’s not from me”.
“I messed up, like you said weeks ago, I learned my lesson” Sully defended.
“Good” she winked at him before looking back at Nate, “anyways, I was joking. Your red flag isn’t being a bartender”.
“No?” Nate asked, intrigued, leaning towards her again unconsciously, “then what is it?”
“Your hair” she teased, reaching out and ruffling it.
Sully watched as Nate’s cheeks glowed red as he fixed his hair shyly.
“Now come on, my hair is fine” Nate said after he’d recovered, “what is my red flag for real?”
She took a moment to ponder his question, Sully suddenly intrigued as well as to what she’d answer.
Nate knew everyone had red flags and that one might possibly see different red flags for someone than another person would.
But he really wanted to know what she felt his was.
Sully was simply intrigued as Nate wasn’t the type of guy y/n was around often so he was curious what her self-protective warning systems were focusing on.
“You’re too… caring” She told him, knowing how odd it sounded.
Nate nodded slowly, “okay. Fair”.
He didn’t know why she felt that was a bad thing (other than the possible correlation to her mentioning that trust was bad too) and some part of him wanted to change that perception.
However, he was sure to let her know he understood and accepted her answer.
——
It had taken another three weeks before Nate learned what y/n had been through and it explained a lot.
When their group searched a small nook in yet another random rain forest they’d ran into Braddock’s crew again.
Y/n kept her word and fought them off without Nate or Sully incurring any injury.
However, before he could thank her and point out he knew she was able to, someone clapped slowly.
Y/n froze like a deer in headlights, Sully reaching for his gun as Nate naively looked around for the source of the clapping.
“Well hello y/n, I see you haven’t been slacking” Someone greeted, Nate’s eyes finding a guy who seemed a year or so older than himself as he stepped out from behind some tall plant.
“Fuck off Chris” Sully snapped, pulling his gun from his waistband and pointing it at the stranger.
Nate watched as y/n tried to pull herself together, the pain in her eyes clear.
As she took a deep breath, her fists clenching at her sides, Nate stepped in between her and whoever this Chris person was.
“Mmm have you replaced me already, sexy?” Chris asked in a husky tone, sizing up Nate.
Nate didn’t exactly know how to respond but as he opened his mouth to defend y/n, the sound of Sully cocking his pistol echoed.
“Can’t fight your own battles yet y/n?” Chris asked tauntingly.
Nate again opened his mouth to speak, only stopping when y/n set her hand on his shoulder.
“Chris” y/n said, her voice surprisingly flat.
“Miss me sexy?” Chris winked and Nate wanted to throw up.
Based on the look y/n gave him before laughing at him loudly, Nate assumed she had a similar sensation.
“Still working for Braddock I see” she remarked, stepping around Nate and towards Chris.
Nate didn’t miss the way Sully took a step forward as if wanting to stop her.
“She works for me” Chris snarled.
“Sure” y/n rolled her eyes.
“You could’ve too” Chris sighed.
“I’d never work for, nor even with, that bitch” y/n retorted, “and you’re to blame too”.
Chris sighed in annoyance, “let it go, damn. You might be sexy, but fuck you’re also stubborn”.
“You tricked y/f/n into falling for Max and Braddock’s trap “ y/n stated, her voice clipped.
Nate noticed that she got into a more defensive position as if preparing for a fight or attack.
“You’re the reason she’s dead, don’t put that on us” Chris pursed his lips as he shrugged, his tone inconsiderate.
Nate eyed Sully, hoping for assistance to understand what was going on.
Sully shook his head twice as he neared them, “don’t listen to him, narcissistics always lie”.
“You’d know Sully” Chris glared, “now stop talking. My girl and I have unfinished business to discuss”.
“I’m not your girl” y/n shouted, pointing a finger at him, “do not ever refer to me as such again”.
Chris glared at her and shook his head, “we’ll see. Like I said, we have things to discuss”.
“I’m not discussing a damn thing with you” she responds, fists clenched at her sides.
“Don’t be like that y/n, we-“ Chris argued but Nate cut him off.
“She said she does not want to speak to you, just leave her be” Nate said, trying not to overstep but also stop Chris.
“And who are you exactly?” Chris scoffs.
“Enough” y/n declares, grabbing Nate’s arm softly and eyeing Sully, “let’s go guys”.
“I’ll see you soon sexy” Chris mocked as they turned to leave, Sully still pointing his gun towards Chris.
Y/n groans and shakes her head as they head towards their vehicle.
“Are you okay?” Nate whispers softly once their group was a good distance from Chris.
Y/n nods and gives him a fake smile to make him feel better.
“If you want to talk, we can. If you want to just forget about it, we can” Nate offers.
She gives him a small but sincere smile, “thank you”.
He nods softly, walking silently next to her so she can decide what they do.
——
“And Max was working with Braddock the whole time, and sleeping with her too, all while being with y/f/n” y/n continued , staring at the ceiling.
“Max cheated on her?” Nate asks, watching her facial features closely.
She nods, still staring up, “and he was the reason she got tricked into going on that particular heist”.
“The one where she…” Nate mumbled.
“Yeah. She was shot by Braddock and I… I didn’t make it in time” y/n sighs.
“I get it. And I know it doesn’t make it better, but it isn’t your fault” Nate offers.
She bites her lip and slowly nods her head, “I wish I could believe that. I… well I was with Chris at the time. I didn’t know he too was working with Braddock and Max”.
Nate’s eyes widen, “Chris was in on it?”.
Y/n purses her lips, glaring at the ceiling, “yeah. He and Max had it planned out that during that heist they’d manage to convince y/f/n and I to stop treasure hunting. The goal being less competition “.
Nate sighed softly, signaling her to continue.
“I think they thought finding out they were manipulating us or cheating would be enough to deter us. But y/f/n was determined to get back at Max by us finding the book first” y/n recalled dazedly, “but it seemed Braddock wasn’t pleased and tried to take out her competition more directly”.
“She shot at you guys?” Nate asked.
“Yeah, we had trouble with her and the guys throughout the whole heist but when we got close to figuring out the location, Braddock’s other men began shooting at us. She wasn’t pleased, she didn’t know where the book was either and wanted us to get that info before the shooting started” she explained.
“But her goons were too dumb to think that through. We managed to avoid nearly every shot. It wasn’t until we parted that it went badly. As y/f/n went with Max, and they were quickly cornered, Braddock opening fire as Max held y/f/n from escaping. She demanded y/f/n to tell her where the book was, but she didn’t” y/n sighed.
“So she shot y/f/n for motivation to get me to tell her when I entered the room with Chris, whom had pulled me aside during our attempted escape… I thought he was keeping me from the bullets, but he was trying to separate y/f/n and I,” y/n shivered, “but even after seeing y/f/n bleeding out, I couldn’t tell her, y/f/n made me promise to never side with Braddock. Plus we had a clue but didn’t figure it out all the way yet anyways”.
Nate nods, grabbing her shaking hand from the bedspread and holding it in his comfortingly.
She shifts her eyes from the ceiling to Nate and gives him a sad smile, “I got us out of there once Braddock realized I didn’t have the information. But it was too late”.
——
Y/n was certain hours had passed between her explaining the story to Nate and now.
He’d comforted her as best as he could, reminding her it wasn’t her fault.
That she wasn’t responsible for how it happened or for Chris having tricked her.
She didn’t completely agree, but she appreciated his support and attempts to soothe her.
She rarely told people what happened that night.
Sully knew, as he’d been looking for the treasure too.
But no one else knew what really happened.
Y/n was ashamed for falling for the trick and guilty for the outcome.
Simply having a third party hear the story and defend her was very validating and healing.
Especially when he would argue with her when she tried to blame herself.
She was fearful his motivation for doing all of this, especially given he’s in the same line of work.
But that night, for that one moment, she let herself actually accept human connection for a bit.
——
“Alright so it says two flights of stairs and then a left” y/n reads.
Nate nods, playing out the steps in his head.
“Okay, Nate will handle that part. But what is it I’m doing again?” Sully asked.
Y/n laughed and rolled her eyes, Nate smiling at how more free spirited she was after their talk a few nights ago.
“You are watching him, making sure no one sneaks in. I’ll be grabbing the next map from the basement. We’ll meet back here after “ y/n explains.
——
“You? Really?” Nate heard someone call out as he rounded the corner, prepared to find the hidden entrance where the compass was said to be.
He turned around only to come face to face with Chris.
Nate glared and kept himself from looking towards where the hidden entrance was, not wanting to give it away.
“Where’s my girl?” Chris smirked.
“She’s not your girl” Nate groaned.
“She’s not your’s” Chris laughed darkly.
“No, she’s not. She’s her own person. Why can’t you just leave her be?” Nate argued.
Chris shook his head, “I’m not done with her. You’ll see, she’ll come around”.
Nate rolled his eyes, “what do you want?”.
“You tell me where she is and I’ll leave you to whatever you need to do. She’ll never know you told me. My business is with her, not you out the old guy” Chris offered, holding his hand to Nate.
Nate scoffed in disgust and shook his head, “fuck off”.
“I only ask once. So now I’m warning you, tell me where she is or you’ll regret it” Chris growled.
“Not going to happen. I’m not doing that to her” Nate glared.
——
“Alright, I got the ma-“ y/n began, closing the door behind her.
“Oh my god, What happened to your face?!” She asked, staring at Nate as he iced his bruised face.
“That’s always been his face” sully joked, trying to cut the tension.
She rolled her eyes and dropped the map onto the couch, “seriously. Who hit you?”
Nate shook his head, “it does not matter”.
She glared and crossed her arms, “I thought you said no secrets?”.
Nate sighed, she was right, he promised he’d never keep anything from her.
It was a sincere promise but one she was hesitant to believe.
His lack of confession now didn’t help.
“It was Chris, bu-“ Nate began, seeing the guilt in y/N’s facial expression.
“Chris did this to you?!” She snapped, grinding her teeth.
“Fuck” She mumbled, fists balled at her sides.
“Y/n, it-“ Nate sighed, reaching for her hand.
“No. I’m getting you wrapped up in this. He’s an ass, but it’s my fault he’s here and hurt you “ She interrupted.
Nate shook his head, wrapping his hands over her’s, “stop. It isn’t your fault. Besides, these bruises are worth it to make sure you’re safe.”
She shook her head and sighed, “you don’t need to-“
He pulled her closer to him, “I know. Just stop. You are not at fault and I’d gladly do it again. You don’t need to go with him”.
She let herself be vulnerable and lean into Nate as she nodded against his shoulder, “okay”.
——
“Wait Nate, I know I agree to let you plan this one, but why am I the distraction?” Y/n groaned.
Nate laughed as they walked closer to their venue, “because are better at being distracting y/n”.
She noticed him blushing but didn’t understand why.
She sighed, “how is that possible? I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do to distract someone”.
Nate smirked to himself, his cheeks turning a deeper red, “believe me, I know”.
“What is that supposed to mean?” She asked hesitant to believe he was flirting with her.
He smiled and shook his head, “you’ll be great. Just keep him distracted while I grab the device”.
She pouted but nodded, “fine”.
———
“You don’t have to hide it” Nate sighed, sitting on the patio chair next to her.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Nate” she lied, refusing to look at him.
“That you’re shook up from seeing him again” he says softly.
“I’m not” she scoffs.
Nate hums, “fine. I was though”.
She turns to face him, “what?! Wh-… wait was the fight the other day that painful?”
Nate smiled sympathetically and shook his head, “no. He’s not that strong” he blushed.
“No, I just don’t like the idea of him being near you after everything you’ve told me. I know you can handle yourself but I don’t trust him” Nate admits.
She watches him silently in surprise, no one other than y/f/n really caring for her this much before.
“I know you don’t have feelings for him, but it’s clear you’re still angry with him. I don’t blame you, I would be too. Hell, I am. He doesn’t deserve to be in your presence much less hurt you by his presence” Nate explains.
“Thank you” she whispers softly, still surprised at his tenderness.
“I don’t trust him. What does he mean by unfinished business?” Nate asks cautiously.
“I truly don’t know. Maybe the book? I still haven’t found it but I know Braddock hasn’t either “ she shrugs.
Nate nods slowly, thinking.
He grabs her hand and pulls her to the chair, so she can stop pacing.
“I doubt he’ll believe me about it though” she sighs, her body crumbling as she leans on Nate.
“Doesn’t matter, he’s not going to get what he wants” Nate promises.
She leans back and stares at him, her facial features showing her tiredness but eyes alert as she looks at him.
“What is it y/n/n?” He asks confused.
“It’s hard to get used to...” she admits, allowing herself to trust him.
“What is?” Nate questions as she lays her head on his shoulder.
“Being someone that someone cares for...” she says, her voice soft and quiet.
Nate frowns, “it shouldn’t be. I’m sorry”.
She nods and closes her eyes, letting herself trust him.
——
It was now a few months into this search and they’d gotten closer to finding the treasure but still needed a local to help them.
Fortunately, Chloe lived in the area still and Nate and Sully requested her help.
It took some convincing for y/n to trust Chloe and allow her to join them but Nate assured her she could trust Chloe.
Chloe had no hesitation joining, especially when she could so clearly see how smitten Nate was for y/n.
She’d never seen him like that before and since Nate was like a little brother to her, she loved being able to tease him about it.
Such as today, when they were all at the airport, trying to steal an artifact back from Braddock.
Y/n was currently fighting off five armed men, Nate squirming in his crouched position as he wanted to help.
Sully had tried to reiterate the next steps to him but it was clear Nate wasn’t listening.
Chloe smirked as Nate watched y/n in awe, clearly beyond impressed with her skills.
“Sully, he didn’t hear anything you just said, he’s too busy daydreaming” Chloe laughed lowly to avoid them being discovered.
Nate glared over at her for a moment before watching y/n again, a smirk on his face and wide eyes as she flipped a large man over her shoulder and to the ground.
——
“Ugh this is uncomfortable. How am I to move in this?” Y/n groaned.
Nate laughed, “you just need to distract them for a few minutes and then you can change”.
Y/n rolled her eyes, “easy for you to say. You’re not being suffocated by this damn thing”.
She pulled on the corset around her chest in annoyance.
“I will admit, I’ve never seen anyone look so cute and ridiculous at the same time” Nate winked.
She blushed and shook her head, shoving him away, “watch it Drake”.
Nate smirked, “just get the distraction handled and then you can get out of it”.
“Someone’s rather eager to get me out of this thing hmm?” She joked, laughing as his cheeks flushed a dark crimson.
Nate stuttered nervously, fiddling with his fingers.
“You ready?” Chloe asked, entering their staging room.
Y/n nodded, teasingly kissing Nate’s warm cheek before walking out.
Chloe busted into loud laughter as she watched the shock on his face and his daydreaming gaze.
——
Nate gritted his teeth in jealousy as he watched y/n flirts with some clueless men from Braddock’s team.
He knew they weren’t going to recognize her, having been far too drunk, and not very bright or attentive to begin with.
So he knew the feeling he felt wasn’t concern but jealousy.
He’d gotten close and had fallen for y/n during this mission, but he wasn’t sure if she felt the same way.
He could see it going either way based on her past and her behaviors around him.
So watching her blatantly flirt with the men, even if it was fake, wasn’t something he enjoyed witnessing.
He watched as one man held her waist firmly, his face against her neck as she played with his short buzz cut.
“God you aren’t good at hiding your jealousy are you?” Sully laughed as he watched Nate glare at the cameras.
Nate didn’t bother responding, what was there to even say?
Chloe laughed, “you know she’s just pretending right?”.
Nate sighed and tried to lean back in his seat but the tension in his chest wouldn’t calm as he watched another man put his hands on her.
——
“You okay Nate?” Y/n asked as she skipped into the room and saw his expression.
Nate sighed and nodded, “I am now, yeah”.
She raised an eyebrow at him but sully interrupted by asking if she snuck the key from the man’s coat.
“Yep!” She grinned proudly, “right here baby!”.
Nate smiled as he took in her excitement.
“Good, Chloe, will this get us in?” Sully asked, taking the key from y/n.
As the two talked about the next steps, y/n tore off the corset part of her outfit and smirked at Nate, “Wait, were you jealous?”.
Nate blushed but shook his head no.
Y/n frowned slightly, “You do it on purpose. I’ve noticed.”
Nate stared in shock, “do what?”.
“Pretend not to have feelings towards me. I wasn’t always good at noticing those things but I am now. I understand why I’d be pushing you away. But I’m noticing you’re the one doing it” she explained.
Nate frowned, “y/n, I-“.
She shook her head, “it’s fine Nate. We can’t help who we like, but it doesn’t mean we are always happy about it. I wouldn’t want to like someone like me either, not with all my trust issues. I just don’t get why you’re doing the mixed signals is all”.
Nate’s eyebrows scrunched as he stared at her, “that’s not what’s going on”.
She nodded and turned to leave, stopping as he grabbed her hand.
“I know you don’t trust me. I don’t blame you” he promises.
“The only reason I was trying to hide it” he mumbles nervously, “is that I don’t want you thinking I was doing what Chris did to you”.
Y/N’s lips part slightly as she nods, “really?”
Nate sighs, “yeah. I can see I may not have handled it right but it’s hard when…I… when I want to…”.
“Want to what?” She asked stepping closer to him despite her brain screaming at her to be cautious.
“When I really want to kiss you right now” he blurts, his cheeks glowing as he stared down at his feet.
“Then do it” she mumbles weakly, making Nate’s eyes snap to her face.
Without another word between them, Nate reaches up and delicately touches his palm to her cheek.
His lips cautious lower to her’s until they touch and both close their eyes in bliss.
The kiss is very brief but as they both pull back and look at each other, time seems to stop.
She bites her lip softly before wrapping her arms around his waist and pulling him closer.
Nate grins, a bright red flush on his face as he holds her in his arms by her waist, his head tilted down towards her’s.
He presses his forehead against her’s as they stare into each other’s eyes and souls.
Nate’s desire to devour her with another kiss is clearly displayed on his face but he still asks quietly, “may I-“.
“Please” she asks hoarsely, glancing down at his eyes briefly, “kiss me Nate”.
Nate doesn’t have to be told twice, instantly tugging her to his chest, his lips hungrily possessing her’s as if they were his own.
Y/N’s hand goes to his chest, pulling the material of his shirt as she tries to bring him closer.
Nate happily stares down at y/n as they catch their breath.
“Listen, I-“ Nate begins but is cut off by a knock at the door.
“Are you two done making out in there? We have news” Sully yelled through the door.
Y/n groaned, hiding her face with her hand.
Nate rolled his eyes and squeezed her hand before opening the door, “what?”.
——
“No, Nate you don’t get it” y/n sighed, pacing before him.
“No, y/n, I do. But what makes you think he’ll actually hold up his end of the deal?” Nate argued.
She shrugs, “I don’t know! But I can’t have him putting you all at risk to get to me! If I just accept and go with him, then you guys-“.
“No” Nate snapped, standing up and stopping in front of her.
“You’re not complying” he said, his eyes pleading, “please”.
“Nate” she sighed, shoulders softening under his touch, “I don’t want to be the reason you guys get hurt”.
“You’re not” he promised, tilting her chin upwards, “besides, him winning and doing whatever it is he wants to do to you, will hurt us more than these damn fights”.
She nodded slowly, seeing his sincerity.
“It will hurt me so much worse. Please, I beg, don’t give in” Nate says, brushing her hair from her eyes, “I will help you figure this out”.
She sniffled quietly making Nate frown and pull her to his chest as he rubbed her back, “okay. As cliche as it may be, I trust you. Thank you Nate”.
“You don’t need to thank me. Just please don’t accept his offer to go with him” Nate asked.
She nodded and pushed her hand against his back to bring him to her.
Nate smiled and kissed her head, thinking of a way to get her out of this.
No one knew what Chris wanted exactly from y/n but they all knew it wasn’t good.
And Nate wasn’t going to let her take him up on his promise to leave their group alone if she went with him.
——
“Hey, Sully have you seen y/n?” Nate asks, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“No kid, she wasn’t in your bed?” Sully smirks.
“Not funny. I’m serious, she wasn’t practicing her jiu jitsu or reviewing the clues like normal” he says exasperatedly.
“Maybe Chloe has seen her” sully shrugs.
Nate sighs and nods, walking out of the living room towards the bedroom y/n and chloe were sharing now.
When Chloe answers the door, Nate peaks his head in to ensure y/n wasn’t there.
“Looking for something, or rather, someone?”Chloe winks.
“Have you seen her?” Nate asks, his cheeks flushed again.
“No, she got up early to train, saying she couldn’t sleep. She’s probably done by now though” Chloe told him.
“How early?” He asked, stopping her from walking away.
“Umm” Chloe looked at her phone, “maybe four hours ago”.
Nat nodded, “she should’ve been done by now. But she’s not on the patio or living room training”.
——
“Kid, are you still sulking about this? She probably went for a run” Sully groaned, downing his drink.
“Something feels off” Nate sighed, “She usually texts me if she does that…”
“Are you jealous?” Chloe smirked and laughed.
“No. I’m worried, she promised not to accept the deal with Chris” Nate spoke slowly, “but I don’t trust him to let it go so easily”.
“Wait, what deal?” Sully asked, leaning forward.
——
“I’m going to kill him” Nate hissed sharply, slamming his hands onto the table before him.
“I can’t believe you got her to agree not to accept his deal, she clearly hates him” Chloe gasped.
“I can believe it. And if you were anyone else I’d make you leave her be, but I know you won’t hurt her kid. I just wish we knew how he took her” Sully groaned, throwing his empty glass against the far wall.
“I mean, you saw her phone was smashed on the ground, and -“ Chloe reminded him, stopping when she saw the pain in Nate’s eyes.
“We’ll find her” she says, looking between Sully and Nate.
——
“Alright, what’s the plan?” Chloe asked, setting the map of Braddock’s facility before them.
“We get y/n back” Nate spoke harshly, “that’s the plan”.
“Nate, kid we need more than that” Sully sighed.
“No we don’t. Maybe you do, I don’t. I’m going in, finding her and getting her out” Nate said.
“And Chris? What stops him from kidnapping her again?” Chloe pressed.
“I’ll deal with Chris once she’s out and safe” Nate said, a dark tone to his voice that made sully flinch.
“Hey, she’s strong, she’s alright” he tried to comfort.
“You don’t know that. He-“ Nate shouted, his anger bubbling inside him, “he helped Braddock kill y/f/n. Whatever he wants with y/n-“.
“It won’t happen. We won’t let it,” Sully promised.
“Now, let’s get the gear we need and go” Chloe agreed, sliding a pistol over the table to Nate.
——
“Nate, stop!” Chloe complained, trying to drag him off of Chris as the two kept fighting.
“Not until he tells me where she is!” Nate growled, striking Chris in the jaw before getting struck back.
“Sully found her damnit, let him go for now” Chloe informed him since it was clear he wasn’t listening to the comms.
Nate instinctively flew back off of Chris and looked at Chloe in question.
“He said the notes show her being held in a room down the hall to the left, three doors from the end” she said and smiled as Nate sped off.
“Now, you think it’s okay to kidnap or ex girlfriend? She’s far too kind for you, but no worries, I have no problem getting revenge for her “ Chloe glared at the man before her in torn clothes with his body covered in scratches and bruises.
——
“Y/n?!” Nate shouted repeatedly as he sprinted down the hallway.
He skidded to a halt before the referenced door, nearly slamming into the wall in his haste.
Nate tried to open the door but it wouldn’t budge.
He elected not to wait for a key from Sully who was likely on his way from the archive sector after having obtained her coordinates.
Instead, Nate took a step back and then raced for the door, slamming his body against it to open it.
The room was dark and dingy, a perfect cliche for a room to hold a kidnapping victim in.
He glanced around, trying to get adjusted to the darkness.
He noticed a body slumped against the wall, gripping something.
Nate rushed over to her, dropping to his knees before her.
She was covered in bruises, dirt, scratches and cuts, hair tangled, and looked all around exhausted.
He saw her eyes were unfocused and something was sticking into her arm.
He looked and realized they’d been keeping her medicated with some solution; cowards.
Nate delicately placed his hand over the IV site as his other hand quickly pulled the needle out so the medicine would stop entering her body.
She screeched, raising her arms and Nate was impressed as he saw even in her dazed state she’d managed to find a scrap of metal she was going to use as a weapon.
Nate frowned and went to comfort her but she pushed him away, scratching his back with the makeshift tool, “go the fuck away! I won’t ever work with you Chris”.
Nate sighed and his heart dropped to his stomach, “love, y/n/n, it’s Nate. I promise, you’re safe”.
Y/n froze briefly before slipping the metal between her ring and pinky finger as she touched Nate’s face.
“It’s really blurry” she said, relaxing when she felt it wasn’t Chris.
Nate nodded to himself, “I figured. But listen, it’s okay. Alright? I’m going to get you out of here”.
“Wait. Are you hurt?” She asked, feeling a scratch on his cheek as it kept bleeding.
“You should see the other guys” Nate laughed.
“Ugh” She complained, knowing full well he was only trying to get her to relax, “That’s such a cliche Nate“.
He chuckled, “it’s true, they’re all far worse off. Now, come on, you need out of here “.
Y/n sighed frustratedly, “you know I don’t need a prince in shining armor to ‘rescue’ me. That’s another a dumb cliche”.
Nate laughed at how she was starting to be more like herself already, “Yeah, I know, which is why I wore this dirty old armor instead.”
He paused as he looked at himself, noting his ragged clothes covered in dirt, soot, blood, etc before facing her again.
“Okay, you can’t see it I guess… but believe me, it’s dirty” he smirked.
She laughed softly with him, a small cough forming.
“Shh, let’s get you out of here yeah?” He asked, grabbing her hand.
“This whole thing is such a cliche” y/n groaned, a small smirk on her cracked lips.
Nate blushed and shook his head, “shut up. I’m going to carry you, now, ok?”
She sighed dramatically, “yet another cliche Nate”.
Nate laughed and scooped her into his arms, “You’re going to have to deal with it…I thought I’d lost you”.
“Missed me Drake?” She winked weakly.
Nate smiled and craned his neck down to kiss her forehead, “as cliche as you’ll claim it to be, yes. I did. I’m glad you’re back, cliche or not, I really do like you “.
Nate noticed her blush under the dirt covering her face, smiling to himself.
“Fine, I suppose that it, that we, can be an acceptable cliche “ She whispered, relaxing into his arms as she no longer felt she needed to fight.
“Acceptable cliche?” Nate pondered, “I can get on board with that”.

Who'd You Rather
Tumblr media
tom holland x reader
summary: if there's one thing Ellen is known for, it's exposing secret relationships
a/n: this was written so quickly and not proof-read. also, i picked Ellen because if anyone would do this, it would be her lol
✧・゚: ✧・゚:✧・゚: ✧・゚:
July 2019
"So Y/N, are you currently dating anyone?" asks Ellen, taking a sip from her mug.
You shake your head.
"Not currently, no."
Ellen nods.
"Well, please don't worry anymore. We're going to help you find someone in a little game we like to call Who'd You Rather?"
"Oh God," you laugh, twisting slightly in your seat to glare at your manager for agreeing to this who laughed and poked her tongue out at you.
"So all you need to do is look at the photos I show you and pick between these two options, alright?"
"Okay, if you insist." you roll your eyes, facing the large screen.
"I do. So to start off, Timothee Chalamet or Dylan O'Brien?"
"Oh, wow," you laugh. "Starting off strong. Well, I was an absolute hoe for Maze Runner when it came out so I have to pick Dylan. Plus, I know Timothee better so it would be kinda awkward if I chose him."
The picture of Timothee fades away and is replaced by a new photo.
"Dylan O'Brien or Harry Styles?"
"Harry fucking Styles." you say without hesitation and the audience cheers. Ellen nods.
"Harry Styles or Florence Pugh?"
You bury your head in your hands.
"How could you ask me that, Ellen? That's like asking someone to pick between cookie dough and mint chip ice cream! Impossible."
Ellen mimes tapping at her watch and tuts at you.
"Time's ticking, Y/N. Make your choice."
You sigh.
"It's absolutely Florence then. Sorry, Harry."
"Florence pugh or Chris Evans?" Ellen asks.
"Flo."
Ellen's eyes gleam as she quickly reads the next pair of names, rubbing her hands together in a comically evil fashion.
"Florence Pugh or Tom Holland?"
You slide down on your chair, laughing and covering your face with your hands.
"Ellen!" you shriek. "I've just come off my second movie co-starring with Tom and he's literally my best friend. You can't ask me this!"
Ellen grins.
"Florence Pugh or Tom Holland?" she repeats.
You pout at the camera.
"Flo, I am so sorry. Please still be my friend. I pick Tom."
The crowd roars in approval and you wave a hand at them, laughing.
"Shhhh, guys."
"Tom Holland or Jake Gyllenhaal?" asks Ellen.
"Tom Holland."
"Tom Holland or Hailee Steinfeld?"
"Tom Holland."
"Tom Holland or Niall Horan?"
You hesitate, biting your lip as Tom's frozen grin stares down at you from the photo.
"I…fuck. Tom?" you say, almost as a question.
"So it's Tom?" Ellen grins. "Speak now or forever hold your peace."
You nod, sitting up straight and crossing your legs.
"It's Tom."
Ellen stares straight into the camera as an assistant signals an upcoming ad break. She rests one hand on your shoulder as she addresses the audience.
"Tom Holland, you'd better act quickly. Y/N is currently sitting by her phone, waiting for your call. Don't mess this up."
✧・゚: ✧・゚:✧・゚: ✧・゚:
April 2021
You relax into the plush cushion of the chair on Ellen's set once again. You are paying attention, sort of. You nod and laugh in all the right places, offering stories and jokes when needed but your mind is miles away. Ellen can pick up on this and she shifts in her seat.
"Y/N." she says, holding eye contact. "Can I have your phone please?"
Your eyes widen as you reach into the pocket of your oversized blazer, following her request and placing the unlocked device in Ellen's waiting hand.
"I wonder," she says out loud, "who we can get to answer your call?"
"Oh God," you laugh, covering your face. "If no one picks up I'll be so embarrassed."
"The Watermelon Man?" Ellen questions, reading off of the screen. "Shall we call the Watermelon Man, whoever that is?"
You cover your face, laughing.
"Jesus. If Harry Styles doesn't pick up I think I'll throw myself off a cliff."
The phone rings three times before a voice rings out from a noisy background.
"Y/N! How are you?" laughs Harry. "This is a surprise, I have to admit."
"Harry!" you call out, before he can say anything else. "Ellen's hijacked my phone and started ringing people, I'm so sorry."
"Oh, she has?" Harry asks mischievously. "I'll make sure not to mention anything about our upcoming collaboration then…" he trails off and you can practically hear him winking through the phone as he hangs up.
"That absolute fucker," you laugh, rolling your eyes at his spoiler as Ellen is already scrolling through your contacts list again.
"Oh!" she exclaims, eyes bright. "Y/N, I thought you told us you weren't dating anyone? May I ask who 'My Darling 💖' is?"
You freeze on the spot, mouth drying out as you blink at Ellen, desperately trying to jump start your brain into snatching the phone back. You glance over at your manager who is sat stock still, just as shocked as you are.
The phone rings five times and you breathe a sigh of relief. It's 3AM in London right now, he's not going to pick up.
Just as you've collected your heart off of the floor and smoothed your hair down, ready to make a self deprecating joke about this mystery person not picking up, there's a pause and the a collective gasp from the audience as the phone connects.
"Hello my love, is everything alright?" asks Tom in his groggy, raspy morning voice.
Ellen's jaw hits the floor so quickly you're shocked it doesn't fall off entirely.
tysm for reading! reblogs and comments are always appreciated <3

The bracelet pt 2
Tumblr media
pairing: Nathan Drake x Reader
word count: 4,4 K
warnings: 18+; smut; public sex; unpotected sex
summary: You meet Nathan while he's working at the bar. He recognizes you and tries to steal your bracelet because he knows you're filthy rich. Instead, you manage to steal his heart.
Read part 1 here!
a/n: I didn't proof read the smut part but there goes nothing!
A couple of months went by since Nate decided to disappear into thin air. It was such a pitty that it had to end before it even began, which made your already broken heart ache even more. People say the best remedy in such cases is to drown yourself in so much work. That was precisely what you wered trying to do. You spent most of your days in the hotel, deciding the lobby and bar could use a renovation. Not that it looked bad before, but you needed a fresh start with this place. Your ex was not very keen on the idea of change but reluctantly agreed to let you do as you pleased, as long as it would keep you busy. So, two months after the start of this ambitious project, you were standing in the brand-new lobby of The Ritz-Carlton. You did your best to keep the spirit and style of the building but with a few modern touches of technology, which appealed so much more to the guests. The hotel was more busy with events than ever before, weddings, galas, balls, charity events, all because of the work you had but in. Bussiness was really picking up, The Ritz-Carlton had turned in the hottest spot in New York.
Besides the undeniably significant time and effort you had dedicated to the marketing of the place, your personal life seemed like it was put on hold. The paparazzi had been sneaking around town, trying to catch a sight of you doing something mildly interesting. However, they would fail miserably to this task. All of the recent news about you were only in regards of The Ritz-Carlton and event you had organized, praises on your astonishing work. Occasionall pictues of you and some friends clothes shopping would appear here and there but nothing major or scandalous.
At other times, late at night when you were laying in your king-sized bed and staring the ceiling, while the city lights shined through the thin curtians of your bedroom, your mind couldn't help but wander. And somehow it would always end up on Nate. Restlessly wondering what he was doing, where he was. But wherever he was, whatever he was doing, the only place you knew for sure he was never going to leave, was your head. After his departure you didn’t really have any interest in dating, even declining a few date offers from some very wealthy and famous people. Trying to mingle was not necessarily a bad thing, but every time such thoughts popped up in your head, you’d look out the window and see the faint sparkles of the same stars that Nate spent hours talking about. It made you feel nostalgic, knowing no one else could ever take you on a date and make something casual appear so fun. That alone made you give up on the idea of pursuing someone else, at least for the time being.
And while you were busy buraying your head into the piles and piles of demanding and much nessecary work, Nate himself had very different plans. He took the task of becoming wealthy to heart and persused that with the first opportunity that he stumbled upon. That was exactly why he took up Sully's proposal to work together and left. He left for long, but not for good. Now that he had a few dollars in his pocket, he decided it was time to make his advancment towards you showing you his brand new persona. His heart was filled with excitemet and anxiety, he knew he was gone for a long time but he hoped that you had kept your promise and waited for him. He was trying his best to keep up with the news about you, reading every newspaper, magazine, interview. All this time he was thinking of you, dreaming of you. The man wanted to tell you everything, to explain where he went, to watch your fascinated eyes sparkle while he told you the story of his adventure with Sully. So, as soon as he came back to New York, he stated working on his new, expensive image. He changed his wardrobe, his car, he rented out a new place. A whole new man by the looks of it, but not in his heart, not in his feelings for you. He renovated himself the way you were renovating The Ritz-Carlton. So, a month after he came back, a month after all the work, he decided it was finally time to approch you.
The day seemed like any normal day for you, sitting at your desk in the office of the hotel, filling in the upcoming events in the callendar. You checked on the progress of the current agenda - a wedding. You made a few phone calls and after doing the diplomatic work, that took no longer than a couple of hours, you decided to run some personal errands, such as picking up drycleaning and other mundane tasks. You stored most of your personal items in a room in the hotel for covenience, but it did mean that sometimes, like today, you had to leave the place with a few zipper bags full of clothes. The weather was starting to get colder and colder with each day, warm and careless summer nights seemed like only a memory that was sitting close to your heart now. The leaves were starting to change colors but that did not make New York look any less beautiful on your side of town. But the chilly weather meant warmer clothes, and a need to add a lot more layers on your body before walkig outside.Fortunately enough the sweather dress you had on was still going to do the job if you to put a coat on top, which annoyed you to an unbelieveble extent. It just meant more weight on you as you carried the cleaned clothes all the way back to your apartment. Holding the, what felt like an ungodly amount of weight of clothes over you shoulder, you walked out of the building. You were met by a gigantic rose bouquet, probably 50 roses or more, right in front of your face, held up by someone who you couldn't quite see. You shook your head, moving past the person and walking away.
"Hey, hey, Y/N, come on" you heard from behind you, the voice was somehow familiar but you couldn't link it to a face for the first few seconds.
You turned around, freezing in your spot, but not because of the low temperature outside.
"I've been standing here for hours and you won't even say hi" he laughed, moving to hold the bouquet in only one of his arms "You have no idea how many excited screechings I had to go through, followed by disappointed looks. Have I really become this unattractive?"
You were still frozen in your tracks while he went on, trying to process the sight in front of your eyes combined with the information in your brain. Your head felt like it was spinning and everything was somehow like it was in a haze.
"I think you managed to break me" you finally spoke. And it was the truth, the shock had taken over your body. It felt like you were dreaming. Did you accidentally fall asleep in your hotel room? You couldn't really tell.
"Well, I was hoping for more of an excited running into my arms, maybe even shedding a happy tear."
"Nate what the actual hell?"
It finally got through to you. Nathan Drake was standing right there, in front of you, a bouguet of 50 roses in his hands. He was dressed in a black tuxedo that hugged his body perfectly, his dark hair was styled back with gel. He looked even better than you remembered, making your heart beat so fast that you felt like you were going to faint. He laughed softly at your shocked reaction, making a few steps towards you.
"If you're not going to hug me, can I hug you at least?" He asked, wrapping the free arm around your waist and pulling you into his chest.
You wrapped your own free arm around him, your head rested against his body as you closed your eyes. You still couldn't believe he was really there, but the warmth of his torso was proving you otherwise. Hot streams of tears rolled down your cheeks, your emotions prevailing.
"Oh my god is that Dior?" you sniffled softly against his chest once you opened your eyes, them landing on the fabric of his clothes.
"I had to impress you." he shrugged and let go of you, brusbing a tear from your face. "There they are, the trears!" he chuckled.
You shook your head in disbelief, taking a step back from him. You had so many questions to ask, it felt like your head was going to explode, followed by the rest of your body. A cool breeze blew past the two of you, making your hair softly sway to the side while you held eye contact with him. It kind of brought you back into reality, in your dreams it was never cold, just endless summer.
"I have so many things to ask-" you started, but were cut off by the flowers being shoved in your face.
"Take these, my back hurts, I've been carrying them for so long"
"I have 3 bags of drycleaning in my hands, literally" you whined to him, moving the bags to your front and with a swift motion placing them over your forearm.
"Well in such case, why don't we take my car and you can ask anything you'd like?" he offered, reaching in his pocket and taking out the keys to unlock a black Mercedez GL that was parked on the street next to the two of you.
"That's your car?"
"Yes" he replied shortly, opening the back door and placing the roses inside gently.
"Who are you? What did you do to Nate?"
He laughed at your response, taking your bags off of you and putting them in the car as well before he grabbed your hand and pulled you towardws him. Like the gentleman he was, his arm wrapped around your waist before he held the passenger door for you, closing it after you sat inside.
"Can I ask my questions now?" you asked once the two of you drove off in an unknown to you direction.
"You can ask and ruin my very cool bad ass story about how I have money now or..." he said, turning his head towards you with a playful spark in his eyes and and a cheerful smile. "You could wait for us to get where I'm taking you and let me explain everything."
"Yeah I think I preffer asking, actually"
He shook his head and laughed at you, stopping at a red light.
"Okay fine, but you're totally killing the vibe."
"Okay I'll ask only one question now and you can tell me your mindblowing story whenever you think is best."
"We have a deal."
"Fine, then, why didn't you warn me about leaving? It was kind of scary to just have you stop showing up to work one day."
Heavy silence followed after your question echoed into the car. You turned your head to stare at his expression, studying his side profile. You could see his brows furrow while he thought of the answear, one arm let go of the wheel, elbow against the armrest on the car door while he rubbed a finger under his nose, his hand covering his mouth. He kind of seemed nervous.
"Well, honestly it wasn't something I planned to happen, it just did." he said finally.
It was your turn to furrow your brows now, but in utter confusion.
"You make it sound like you were abducted"
"More like recruited? I didn't have the time to find you and explain everything, and it's not like I have your number to call. You wanted to keep things professional between us. And I couldn't even think about explaining anything back then, you know? I wasn't really sure what was going to happen either."
"But it was scary. We didn't know if you were alive or not, you could have gotten into an accident or something, I had no information on you. I made the restaurant manager call you and your phone was turned off, I called in all the hospitals in the region around the hotel and around your apartment for you."
"I didn't know you were so worried."
"I was, I felt horrible and responsible. For a moment I thought about calling the police and tell them you were missing."
"Gosh, you care so much about me? It's almost as if you like me or something?" he joked, trying to break the tense atmosphere.
"Oh my god" you whispered in annoyance, laughing softly at his words.
It was odd, you never imagined yourself actually being into someone like him, someone so different to the men you were used to dating. But there you were, in his car, following him with no direction to wherever he pleased to go. Before you even had time to try and continue this conversation, he parked the car and turned the engine off.
The second you stepped out of the car, you were greeted by the sounds of waves crashing into land and the fresh smell of salt water. It was already late in the evening when Nate picked you up from the hotel, which meant it had gotten cold enough outside to make you shiver, even without the soft breeze that was blowing. You looked around, your attention immediately captured by the flickering lights of the amusement park on Coney Island. Unfortubately for you, who got excited from the thought of riding some of the rides with Nate, even if it meant you would look like crazy people wearing something so formal there, the park was closed and everyone was long gone. Your head turned to look for Nate in confusion, seeing him stand next to you with his hands in his pockets. He reached out a hand for you, taking yours and motioning for him to follow you. And you did, once again, follow him without asking any questions. He lead you towards the beach, an area that was unfamiliar to you. Soon you reached a big bell tent, open and inside there was a set-up simillar to your first date night with him - poof chairs, blankets, fairly lights. He walked you inside, helping you sit on one of the poof chairs and plopping down on one himself. You coudln't lie, it was so thoughtful, so beautiful and romantic. For the second time this cocky, slightly annoying man had left you speechless. You were so mesmerized by the scenery that you didn't even notice him stand and take out a bottle of champage out of somewhere and pour it in two glasses. You took one of them, clicking it with his before taking a sip.
"Nate this is... I don't even know what to say."
"Don't get used to it, it's my apology for leaving the way I did." He sat down next to you
"Well that was anticlimatic"
"I didn't mean it that way." he rolled his eyes, placing the glass on the ground. "I wanted this to be special, we haven't seen each other in so long and in my head this whole thing was going to happen in the summer but plans got delayed."
"Is now the time for you to tell me the amazing story of Nathan Drake's adventure?"
"You bet it is!" he laughed.
And he did tell you everything, about his brother and about Sully. He he went into great detail about everything that he went through in the last few months. And while he was speaking, you were going through every possible emotion you could think of, listening with your jaw practically on the floor. He would laugh at your reactions, copying your face to make fun of you.
"You're awful!" you would whine, hitting his chest playfully
"Oh, I'm awful? Why are you here then?"
"You're lucky, I like awful."
''You know..." he started, taking his glass and finishing the remaining content in it. "The whole time I couldn't really stop thinking about you."
Silence suddnely fell upon the two of you after his words, making your gaze turn from the pleasant view of the outside beach to the more pleasant one, his eyes.
"I thougut about you too" you whispered softly.
"It got the point where I couln't really... get rid of this" he reached for the inside pocket of his tux, taking out the diamond bracelet that you gave him.
It sparkled softly under the soft fairly lights around you. Your eyes stared at his hand, moving rapidly between his face and his palm. You couldn't believe your eyes. No matter how hard you tried, the damn bracelet somehow just wouldn't leave your life. Truthfully, you didn't really know what you were feeling in that moment. You were upset because you wanted to get rid of it at all cost, but in a weird, nostalgic way, you were glad to see it.
"Actually, I had it on me the whole time, to remind me of you." he spoke after he noticed your state.
Suddenly all the negative associations you had with the expensive item melted away and were replaced by the hearthwarming feelings his words brought. He put the bracelet on your wrist, making you shiver with the contact.
"Can I be honest about something?" you asked, your eyes fixed on the diamonds.
He nodded in response, making you look back at him.
"Truly, I've never met anyone so... romantic?"
"After everything you thought THAT was romantic?"
"No, I mean this whole thing. The flowers, the beach, the bracelet. This is more romantic than a proposal, and I've been proposed to... twice."
"The beach was actually a reference to something else." He mumbled before taking a sip from his glass.
It made you think for a second and suddenly the memory of your first intearaction came to the surface, making you blush.
"You dog!" you laughed, looking at him with the side of your eye.
He laughed as well, laying on his side, turning his body in your direction.
"Come here." he said, reffering to his chair.
You did your best to move over to him eleganly, not sure how well it worked out judging by his giggles. Or maybe he was just tipsy from the champagne? You sat down next to him, having him wrap an arm around your shoulders like he did on your first date. Your head rested against his chest while you snuggled up against him, only now realizing how actually cold you were before that. You closed your eyes, listening to the rythmic sound of his heartbeat as your hand rested against his stomach. You couldn't tell how long you sat there like this before you started playing with his tie. He noticed your actions, placing a soft kiss on your forehead before his hand travelled down to your waist, drawing soft circles on it. In the moment of silence, you could hear the sound of waves crashing in the background and it felt so calm, so perfect, even. Nate's hand was now slowly travelling up and down your back, going further down with each movement, until it finally landed on your butt. You giggled into his chest when you felt his hand there, making you look up at him. The both of you stared into each other's eyes for what felt like forever, until his lips finally crashed into yours. The kiss was passionate and long, it tasted like champagne and it was enough to make your head spin, while your hand left the tie alone and moved to his shoulder. His grip on your ass was now harsh and needy, trying to pull your hips closer to his own while he was squeezing. You broke the heated kiss to catch your breaths, suddenly feeling shy because of the butterflies that were going wild to the rythm of your heartbeats. You started kissing his jawline, softly, to hide that fact, your hand loosening the tie around his neck. Nate was quick to get out of his jacket, throwing it on the floor. His hands found their way back to your body, touching and grabbing everything he could. You took off his tie, placing it over your own head. He laughed at your act, pulling you by that same tie now and kissing you hungrily again. This time he was even more passionate, if that were even possible, his tongue danced against yours while his hands grabbed your wast and pulled you over on top of him, making you sit on his lap. Your hands were grabbing his hair, ruining the way he had styled it. After a few minutes of making out, you broke the kiss for air again. Now he looked more like the Nate you remembered, no fancy tuxedo, no tie, just a normal, very handsome guy. You smiled at him, undoing the bottons on his shirt while his hands roamned around your body. Once the shirt was undone and open, you had to bite your lip at the sight of his body. You knew he was toned, you just didn't know he was actually shredded as well. He smiled confidently at your reaction, but you kissed him before he could make the snarky comment you knew was already formed in his head.
You were growing more and more needy for him by the minute and he knew. Truth was, the feeling was mutual. He spent too many nights alone in bed thinking about this, thinking about you, imagining the exact moment your hands would be in his hair, his lips would be on yours. He couldn't help but be impatient, try to push you towardws going further and further into the heat of the moment. And while he was so lost in this timeless dance of your tongues together, the reality of his deepest desire being better than anything he could ever imagine, you had to break the kiss, making him moan with annoyance.
"Can we really do it here?" You asked, out of breath
"What's stopping us?" he asked back, attacking your jaw and neck with his lips.
"Well it's kind of... public?"
"You were the one.... who wanted.... sex on the beach" he said between kisses.
"The cocktail, Nate"
"I suggested the cocktail, you wanted the other thing"
"You really need to learn when to shut up"
"You need to learn how to lose an arguement"
You rolled your eyes at him but kissed him again, your hands undoing his belt and pants. He was smiling through the whole kiss, which made you even more annoyed with his cockiness. Speaking of cock, his was painfully hard, and you could tell by the way it twitched when your hand accidentally brushed against it in the process of unzipping his pants. You wasted no time, your eagerness was matching his and the thrill of someone catching you in the act was sending a type of feeling through your veins that you couldn't remember feeling before. Was it adreanline? Or were you just incredibly turned on? You slipped his member out of the boxers as well, giving it a few strokes with your hand which resulted in a hitched breath, followed by moans from Nate. He wasn't going to waste time either, hand slipping under your dress and pulling your panties to the side so he could touch you as well. The kiss was broken at that point, both of you looking into eachother's eyes. You two knew already there was no need for any foreplay since you were almost dipping on his fingers now and without saying anything, he grabbed your waist ang guided you to hover above him. The poof was a bit too unstable to help you with balancing on your knees but it had to do. Your hand held his dick in place before you slipped down on it slowly, making Nate throw his head back in ecstacy.
"This is so much better than I expected" he said holding you down while you were adjusting to the size.
It didn't take you long, pecking his lips before you started moving your hips in circles while you watched the expression on his face change from sweet and loving to lustful. He helped you move up and down his lenght because your mind was now too preoccupied and overstimulated to have such a complex thought about rythim and movement. It was all him and him only, nothing else in the world existed but this. He pulled your chess to his while you bounced on him, his hands now on your ass to guide you while his moans filled your ear. You weren't holding back on moaning or saying his name either, it simply felt too good to even try. Your hands were touching his muscles while you moved, your lips nibbling and biting on his neck. At some point your nails were digging into the skin of his chest and arms, but your mind was too clouded to even notice that. All you could really feel was the way he stretched your walls, his own hips now moving upwards to be fucking into you. You bit on his shoulder as you felt your walls tightening around him, and from the looks of it, he was feeling that you were close as well. He groaned your name deciding it was a good idea to push your hips down while he slammed himself into you, making you yelp as he hit a spot you didn't know existed. It felt so good you were having doubts it was real. You started screaming his name, feeling yourself finally release onto him while he moaned and moved. His hand travelled up from your ass to your hair, grabbing a handful and pulling you into a very tight hug while he moaned and groaned. You felt him cum inside you just as you were done with your orgams, your body collapsing onto his. You sat like this for a while, panting, hearts wildly beating.
"You have to tell me where you get your clothes dry cleaned, my pants are ruined"
"Jesus Christ, Nathan! I just gave you an orgasm and you're thinking about dry cleaning?"
"Yeah because of that orgasm, my pants are ruined, we orgasmed everywhere!"
You sat up to look at him, your hands on his chest while you shook your head.
"Okay fine. Our second date will be at the dry cleaners."
"Technically this was the second date."
"I hate you, so much."
"Oh, darling, we both know you don't."

day 1, pegging
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
nathan drake x gn! reader warnings: nsfw 18+, improper pegging techniques, handjob, praise (m receiving), fingering, multiple checks for consent kinktober ☠︎︎ main masterlist ☠︎︎ read on ao3
Nathan Drake never knew when to shut his mouth. Whether he was fighting with some Shoreline goons or teasing you relentlessly, he was always running his mouth. It was no different when you had sex, limbs tangled together and unsure of where your body ended and his began. He would utter praises along your skin as he fucked you, and you soaked it up every single time.
Tonight was no different. Well… there was something new you were trying.
Nathan laid naked spread out below you, each piece of his clothes slowly stripped and thrown somewhere across the room.  His hands were tied above his head, and he looked up at you with the same blue eyes that drove you crazy.
You’d been preparing for this night for weeks, getting your knots just right. Nate was a tricky one, and you wanted to make sure he wouldn’t escape from what you had planned. Of course, he was all too happy to let you try out your knots on him when you practiced. He was always rewarded for his cooperation.
“You’re being so good for me, Nate,” you purred, tracing a finger down his bare chest, which heaved under your touch. “Did you get ready like I asked, baby boy?”
Nate looked up at you as you straddled him, seating yourself just below his pelvis. “Yes,” he replied, sucking in a breath as you splayed your hands across his ribs, “didn’t touch just like you asked.”
He watched you as you leaned down to finally touch him, and he bit back a moan in response. You stroked him slowly, teasingly. You swiped a thumb over the tip, gathering the precum that had begun to form and spread it to the rest of his length with your short, languid strokes. He bucked his hips, attempting to meet you halfway. Impatient as always.
You tsked as you pulled away, “Thought you were going to be good for me.”
You ghosted a hand over his inner thigh, and he shuddered. It wasn’t very often when you were in control like this, and you were seizing the opportunity to tease the ever-loving shit out of him.
“C’mon, baby,” he pleaded, struggling against his restraints. “Promise I’ll be good, just touch me, please.”
His pleas did little to quell the ache in your core, and you bit your lip. You granted him mercy, just this once, and returned your grip to his length. He turned his head to the side and moaned against his bicep, muttering your name under his breath.
You used your free hand to grab the bottle of lube you had set to the side, and you popped the top with your thumb. Nathan shudders as you drop a bead of lube onto his length and twist your fist around the tip.
“Jeez, baby,” Nathan half chuckled-half groaned as he arched his back off the mattress, desperate against your touch.
You pulled away and Nathan whined at the loss of contact. You slid off him so you were situated between his legs, which spread eagerly for you. You flipped the top to the lube once more, covering three of your fingers with the tacky, clear residue. You spread your fingers, watching as strings of wetness form. The scene was titillating, and Nathan’s cock jumped against his abdomen as he watched you.
You placed your free hand on the inside of his thigh before pushing a finger slowly inside of him. Nathan hissed and your movements halted.
“Alright, honey?”
He nodded quickly, his eyes pleading and lidded and he looked down at you. “Don’t stop, please, baby.”
You began to pump your fingers, slowly at first. He let out a shaky groan when you picked up the pace, his hips jutting to meet you halfway. “Doing so good for me, honey,” you praised, reaching up to slowly stroke his cock with your free hand.
You withdrew your fingers, and he whined underneath you. He was so needy tonight, and arousal was making your head fuzzy. But it wasn’t about you tonight. There’d be plenty of time for that later.
You stepped out from between his legs and hopped off the bed, eagerness flooding your veins. Your heart was beating so hard you could hear it in your ears as you searched under the bed. Seconds passed like hours as you felt around for a familiar black box, and relief pooled in your chest as you felt the smooth cardboard you’d been looking for.
Nervous fingers clumsily opened the box revealing what he’d been waiting for all day. The dildo was small and a muted blue with an upward curve to reach that sensitive spot inside him. Nate’s head perked up at the sound of buckles clinking as he watched you put on the harness.
You returned to your position between Nate’s legs and he watched you, curiosity flickering in his eyes as they traveled downward.
You grinned, “It matches your eyes.”
He let out a shaky breath, quickly covered by a scoff as he rolled his eyes.
You retrieved the bottle of lube and popped the top. You gripped the blue length in your hand and met his gaze as you dropped a bead of lube onto the tip, reminiscent of your earlier actions. You stroked yourself and rubbed a soothing hand over his thigh.
“Sure you want to do this?”
He was quick to nod in response, too busy watching your every move. You lined your tip up to his entrance, and his breath hitched. Your hands skated over any skin you could reach as you slowly rocked into him.
Nate’s expression was pinched in a mix of pain and ecstasy as you inched your way inside him. Your heart ached to provide some form of solace, but you couldn’t focus on anything but the way he was taking you so well.
You leaned down and pressed sloppy kisses against the side of his neck, attempting to distract him as you sank the last few inches into him.
He gasped, and you hesitated just for a moment. Your heart was pounding so loudly you could barely breathe, and panic began to set in. What if you hurt him?
“You okay?” you asked and you cringed as soon as the words left your mouth.
He slowly opened his eyes and nodded. “Baby, you’re inside me,” he huffed a laugh. You couldn’t help but join him. He was looking at you like you hung every star in the sky and the next thing you know your lips were on his.
The kiss was clumsy as you adjusted to your position over him. You pulled out of him before snapping your hips forward, your lips still on his. Strong legs wrapped around your waist and brought you closer, pulling you deeper inside him.
You rocked against him, each thrust pulling out further than the last. You spent every moment memorizing every sound and sight. Eventually, you reached that spot inside him that had him releasing the delicious sounds you craved. You focused on hitting that spot again, and again, and again until he was a moaning mess under you.
He arched against you. “Baby,” he pleaded, not even sure what he was asking for anymore.
“Tell me what you want, honey,” you murmured, desperate to give him whatever he desired.
“More.”
Who are you to deny your baby boy what he wants? You snapped your hips faster, finally settling into some sort of rhythm. You wrapped your hand around his weeping cock, and twisted your wrist in quick strokes.
The pace at which you were pounding into him was almost brutal, but he was so close you could almost taste it. With one final slam of your hips, he was falling apart at the seams. Nathan’s moan was practically pornographic as he painted the back of your hand and his stomach with the white strings of his release.
You slowed your pace as you both caught your breath. Your hands skirted across his now-flushed skin as he came down from his high.
“You did so good for me,” you whispered, a small smile playing on your lips.
Nathan laughed, and the sound made your heart soar. You made him feel good.
“You did all the work.”

"the usual?" the browned eye man asked as you slide onto the stool leaning your weight on the bar.
"how'd you know?" you smirked playfully as he got to work on your drink. to say you were a regular was an understatement. you practically lived here. it wasn't that you were an alcoholic or anything like that, you just liked spending time there. considering the bartender was hot as hell.
"for you," he said smiling cheekily placing the drink in front of you. you thanked him taking the drink in your hand and having a small sip. you told yourself tonight you wouldn't drink too much so you were taking small sips.
that isn't exactly how the night panned out. yeah, turns out scrolling through instagram and seeing how lonely you actually were made you want to drink more.
"hey, i'm cutting you off," his eyes were serious but there was concern mixed in there as he leaned over the bar and close to you so you could hear him. you blinked feeling the alcohol numb every sense in your body.
"why?" you whined as he took the glass from your hand.
"i think you've had enough," he said seriously this time as your leg slipped off the stool and you lost your balance. you quickly tried to regain your composure to avoid a lecture from your bartender. nathan. his name was nathan, you remembered.
"i'm paying for that," you said tilting your head in disbelief.
"yeah, well i refuse to give you service," he said raising his eyebrow while placing his hands on the bar standing tall daring you to take him on. pouting you stood from the bar grabbing your purse that'd been previously resting on the counter.
"how are you getting home?" he asked before you could turn around.
"uber? i don't know i'll find a way," you muttered.
"i'm clocking out in 10 minutes, can you wait for me?" he asked looking over at the other bartender getting ready for his shift. you didn't think about it. you just nodded your head and sat back down. you leaned your head on your hand as your elbow rested on the counter and you felt your eyes slowly close.
"ready," his hand was on your back and you instantly opened your eyes.
the cold air hit your face and you shivered. you wondered if you were actually drunk...or you were just sobering up quickly.
"where do you live?" he asked casually tucking his hands in the pockets of his pants, glancing at you.
"you're trying to go home with me?" you teased.
he laughed softly still looking at you. "i feel a little responsible for how much you drank so yeah, i want to make sure you get home safe." you felt your heart thump at his reply. he was clearly flirting back, right?
"i'm not far from here," you replied looking at him feeling the alcohol exit your system as you shivered again feeling how cold it actually was.
"good," he whispered placing a hand on your back gently rubbing it, you figured, in an attempt to warm you up.
boy was he making you hot.

Tumblr media
“C’mon, Y/N! Get ready, you’re coming out with us tonight.” Your friend Alexis says throwing a red shimmery dress towards you.
“I don’t feel like going out, I just want to snuggle and watch movies and be sad.” You counter wanting to just relax for the night.
“No way, you guys broke up a month ago and now it’s time to get back out there again. And besides, me and Taylor haven’t been out since then either. We need this as much as you do. You’re going to wear this sexy dress and you’ll have the whole club drooling.” Alexis says urging you to go out.
You giggle in response, knowing that they’ve been by your side through your break up and that they want you to have fun again and not think about your ex for once.
“Okay, you make a convincing argument. I guess I’ll get ready.” You say sarcastically, stretching out each word.
“Yay!! You get your cute ass ready and we’ll meet you downstairs.” Alexis screeches now running out of your room closing your door.
As you finish getting ready, you check yourself out in your full length mirror to see your full look. The dress was very seductive. It was a short dark red dress with a subtle shimmer and a slit in the thigh. Damn, is Alexis trying to get me laid tonight? You stifle a laugh. You head downstairs meeting your friends and their jaws nearly dropped.
“Damn, Y/N, you’re fucking hot!” Taylor cheered. “What did I tell you Y/N? Everybody’s going to be drooling over you.” Alexis said proudly.
“It’s girls night, I’m just looking to have fun with you guys.” You say certainly.
“I wouldn’t close yourself to opportunity tonight, Y/N. We’re going to Siren tonight. Which means all the guys are hot.” Taylor said excitedly.
“Yeah, and if we want to have our first choice, we need to go now.” Alexis said looking at the time on her phone.
You and your friends leave your house and get a ride to Siren, a new nightclub that recently opened downtown. You haven’t been there before but everyone says it’s the best that night life has to offer.
You arrive and you and your friends didn’t have to wait long before being allowed entry to the nightclub. The atmosphere was very sultry, the bright neon colours, the vibey electronic music pumping through the speakers, and the people around set the tone that the night was going to be exciting.
Alexis latches onto your wrist and pulls you to the glittering dance floor in the middle of the club. You both dance close to each other and even jokingly grind on each other.
“See, I told you this would be fun, we haven’t clubbed in so long!” Alexis shouts over the music.
“I know! I think we’re getting Y/N’s seductress out tonight too. Got your eyes on someone yet Y/N?” Taylor says teasingly.
“I don’t know, but looks like someone else does.” Alexis says looking over to the bar.
You look over and see the most attractive man you’ve ever seen, this man alluded sin and sex appeal. He was wearing a white button up long sleeve that clung to his skin. The sleeves were rolled up to his elbow and a black vest was layered over top of it. You could see every muscle in his arms as he mixed drinks. You could tell he knew how use his hands, watching him mix with control and finesse as he garnished each drink. You were practically drooling thinking about it. You also noticed that he was flickering his eyes back and forth from making his drink and you.
You became flustered and grew a gentle blush on your cheeks, not knowing what to do but also not wanting to look away from him.
“Hey, Y/N? Do you mind getting us drinks?” Taylor asks sweetly trying to do you a favour.
“Yeah! Can you get me a margarita, and get yourself a sex on the beach while you’re at it!” Alexis chimed in.
You now try not to sweat having a reason to go talk to him, but now you panic slightly because your friends are now expecting you to go and see him.
Once you got the courage to walk over to him and order your drinks, you look over to where he is and notice the man is no longer there. Where did he go? Is he on break? Is his shift over? You sigh disappointed.
That is when you feel a strong muscular arm graze yours. You look over your shoulder to see who had bumped into you and it was none other than the gorgeous man from the bar.
“Sorry” you say to him shyly, now embarrassed because he was the one who bumped into you.
“Why are you sorry, doll eyes?” He says with a sultry and cocky tone.
You blush at the cute nickname he gave you. “I don’t know, I guess I just apologize a lot.” You giggle nervously.
“You’re very cute when you blush, doll. I should be the one apologizing, and especially when I haven’t made you a drink yet.” He says confidently.
“I haven’t ordered a drink though, I was actually going to order one just a moment ago. Is it a new rule that bartenders have to take drink orders personally from bthe dance floor?” You reply now trying to match his confidence.
You could tell he really liked this new side to you, he closed the space between you and placed a hand on the small of your back now dancing with you. “No, but what can I say? I just go the extra mile to please my customers.” He says leaning into your ear.
Your breath hitched in your throat at his words. You spin around and your back is now flush against his hard chest, you hold his muscular arm around your waist and turn your head to the side. “But I’m not a customer.” You say in a low sultry tone.
He then takes complete hold of your waist and dances holding you close to him. “I can make you any drink, I think I can figure you out.” He’s says coy into your ear.
You like this idea and think it’s a fun way to fluster him back. “Okay, you get 3 tries.” You say as you sway yourself against his figure.
He hums and takes your hand to spin you back around to face him. “You strike me as a cocktail kind of girl.” He purrs.
“Is that your first guess?” You tease him.
“You’re sweet like a daiquiri, I’d make you with extra syrup.” He says lowly as he grips your hip.
“Mmm, good guess but no. Do you only think I’m sweet?” You reply now pulling him closer by the buttons of his black vest.
“You’re more than sweet doll, you’ve got a spicy side to you too, even a bit sweet and sour. Maybe you’re a lemon drop.”
You smile and guide his hands to travel you as you sweep your body along him, even dropping to your knees for a moment to fluster him a little more.
“I’ve gotta be close, angel.” He says softly trying not to show you how flustered he is now.
“Those are good, but not the drink I would’ve ordered. One more guess.” You say impressed with his ability to read you.
The heat from the nightclub and the steaminess of your interaction with the man is really getting to you. You feel much looser and even more extroverted than you have been. You begin grinding on him really showing your interest in him. He easily follows along with you by taking hold of your hips to hold you close. He even guided you a little bit.
“You’re so naughty, doll. Be careful you don’t start something you can’t finish.” He says with a low moan.
“I never said I was a good girl.” You reply back now pressing against a bit harder.
He moaned in responses and gripped your hip harder, enough that you knew there would be imprints in your skin.
“Babydoll, you’re playing with fire, if you keep that up I’m going to take you here in front of everyone.” He says breathing heavy.
“I wouldn’t be opposed.” You say cheekily.
And then it clicked immediately. “Sex on the beach, you really are a naughty one, aren’t you?” He says revealing his final guess.
“Mmm, I don’t really want the drink though, I was thinking of ordering something else, only which you could provide.” You say devilish.
He moves his hands back up to your waist and latches his lips to your neck to start teasing you back for your last comment.
“I think I can help you out with that order, doll. I know somewhere quiet we can go.” You nod to him and he was quick to pull you through the crowd to a private club room to have a fun sin-filled night.
Your friends watched as you and the gorgeous man fled the crowd of dancing bodies and they were more than happy for you.
“Y/N is so getting laid tonight!” Alexis said as her and Taylor danced together.
