He’s Turned Into a Kid Part 2
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Part 1
Part two will include Four, Wind and Time
Content under the cut!
Four
“Woah!! Look at that!” The child cried from on top of Twilight’s shoulders. He jumps, pointing to something in the distance, nearly flinging himself off of Twilight in the process.
“Careful!” Twilight grabs onto his legs, struggling to keep the two of them balanced. “Don’t fall.”
You looks forward to where he pointed, but you don’t see anything. “What is it Link?”
He jumps, much to Twilight’s chagrin. “I think I see the castle! Papa is in Castle Town! I’m almost home!”
You wince, along with the few other members of the group. You don’t have the heart to tell him that this isn’t his world.
When he was hit by the magic, he was transformed into a child no older than six years old. Luckily, he was still able to wear his clothes, even if they were a bit too big for him. But he was certain that he was lost and knew the way back home. So the group figured that if anyone could help him, it was Zelda. Thus, you all stated traveling to the castle.
You didn’t expect him to be so excited for someone who wasn’t there.
“I hope Zelda wasn’t too worried.” He says when no one else comments on his words. “I was supposed to head to the castle to check on her bunnies. I don’t know how I got so far away though.”
“Do you want to see the bunnies first?” You try to steer away from Castle Town. “We have to go to the castle anyway. Then we can find your dad.”
You can see the idea spin in his head. He’s thinking about it. “Hmmm... But Papa would be worried about me too. He doesn’t like me going too far away where he can’t see me... Not that I haven’t done that before.”
You snort. Of course. He’s still Link.
“What do you think?” Four turns his head to look at you. “Am I going to get in trouble?”
“Hmmm...” You pretend to think about it too. “I don’t think so. We can stop b the castle first since what we have to do is really important. Then we can find your dad and I’ll tell him it was our fault, yeah? That way you don’t get in trouble.”
He grins. “Thank you! You’ll the bunnies. They’re very tiny and soft. And not everyone can find a bunny to keep, but Zelda has three.”
“Three?” You grin back. “That must be really special then. She must take really good care of them.”
Four nods back. “Do you have bunnies?”
“No.” You shrug. “I have cuccos.”
Four makes a face. It appears that he’s already learned the hard lessons of cuccos. “...I don’t like cuccos. But I’ll find you a bunny, ok? They’re much better.”
You snort. “I believe it.”
Four points a fingers up, a sign of confidence. “I’m really good at finding things. I find all sorts of things in my house that papa says weren’t there before. We have little mice friends and they can help me find you a bunny.”
“I don’t need a bunny though.” You shake your head, keeping your smile on your face. “But thank you. That’s very sweet of you.”
He nods, suddenly very determined. “It won’t be easy. Maybe I can ask grandpa to help make a little trap. He works a lot with metals. He’s a blacksmith. I’m going to be just like him when I grow up.”
You nod, keeping some little comments to yourself. It wouldn’t do anyone any good if you started talking about him like you already knew him. For all the boy knew, he was just somewhere else, surrounded by strangers. It doesn’t seem like he knows anything of the hero he would grow up to be.
You hope that Zelda would actually be able to do something about this and fix him. But even if there’s no immediate solution, you can’t say that you’d mind having him around.
“I bet you’re going to be just as good as him, maybe even better.”
He laughs. “No one is better than my grandpa. But if I get close to it, I’d be really happy.”
Wind
“What do we do?”
“Oh my god, this is horrible.”
“Time, you grew up with children right?”
“Don’t look at me. I have no experience with babies.”
“Wild, get a fire going, heat up from milk.” You command, trying to hold the group together. “We need to cook a few light grains to keep him full since I think he’s past that age. We need rags, blankets and something to cut them with. He’s going to get cold.”
The boys start scrambling at your orders. Wind looks up at you, easily no older than a year old. He smiles and you can see little baby teeth peaking out from his gums.
“Oh your teeth.” You stare in wonder. You’ve have some experience with small children. Between your little bother and Zelda, you know some basics, but in reality you’ve never felt less prepared for anything. But at least he might be able to eat more solid food. So that’s a relief.
Wind starts laughing, a light and bubbly sound. You can’t help but laugh back. “What, buddy? What’s so funny?”
“Man, he was a cute kid.” Warrior looks over your shoulder. You shift the child so that he’s balancing on your hip instead on purely being held up in your arms.
“Agreed.” You poke his nose and he laughs more. “He looks like Link when he was this age.”
Warrior makes a face but Wind starts to babble. “Bababababababa...”
“What is it, buddy?” You give your attention back to him. He reaches up but aims for Warrior. You grin. “Oh you want the Captain, little man?”
You happily give the babbling baby to the suddenly panicked hero. Warrior takes him since you leave him with little other choice but he’s holding Wind awkwardly and his fear is tangible. “.....Help.”
You laugh. “Don’t be so stiff. He’s just a baby. He’ll be back to normal soon enough.”
“The problem is just that. He’s a baby.” Warrior lifts the child higher. “What if I drop him?”
“Don’t.” You shrugs “It’s not that hard.”
“You seem to know what you’re doing.” Wild points his wooden spoon in your direction.
You shake your head, putting your hands up in defense. “I just remember my little brother. I’m a lot older than him so I had to help from time to time. Wind also has some baby teeth, so he can eat more solid food by the way. We just have to grind it up first before we give him anything just in case.”
Wind keeps talking, trying to tell the older hero something but Warrior has no idea what to do. The sight makes you laugh. “Captain, you’re hopeless.”
He looks back at you and back to the kid. Wind blows a raspberry before collapsing into giggles again. You shake your head and finally take his arms, positioning Wind against him so that it’s better from both parties. “Absolutely hopeless.”
“Dadadada! Babrrrrrrr.”
You nod, putting your hands on your hips. “Agreed. Well said.”
Warrior whines. “Don’t leave me alone with him, please.”
You raises an eyebrow. “What about-”
Wind starts crying, suddenly reaching for you. “Momaaa!!!”
You flush and take him back without hesitation. “Me? Did you want me, buddy? I got you. You’re ok. Don’t cry.”
Warrior sighs and ruffles his hair. “We have our work cut out for us.”
“We got as many loose rags as we could.” Hyrule holds a few of them up. “What do be need them for?”
You flinch. “Diapers.”
They pale.
Multiple hands shoot up. “Not it!”
“Cowards.”
Time
You were going to cry.
The small boy in front of you was too precious, too young and too sweet to be Time. He kept looking around the forest around you as if he had never been here before. And maybe he hasn’t, but that doesn’t stop the way he seems to be looking for something.
“Are you ok?” You ask him, poking his shoulder. You say it gently and yet it seems to take him by surprise.
“Um...” He seems nervous. “I’m looking for Navi.”
You tilt your head. That’s new name. You’ve never heard it before. Warrior goes completely still, not so subtly paying attention to your not so secret conversation. So he recognizes the name. Interesting. “Who’s that?”
“My fairy.” He whispers. “She left after we defeated Ganon...and I don’t know where she is.”
The whole group comes to a complete stand still.
“Oh my god...” Sky suddenly looks ill.
The young boy doesn’t seem to know why it bothers them. He misinterprets their silence. “I know! After everything we’ve been through, she just left. She didn’t even say goodbye. I’ve been looking all over for her! I need to stop by Lon Lon Ranch to get Epona. She’s a tiny horse but big enough for me to ride.”
He’s already saved the world, a little voice tells you. He’s so little but he already did it. You cough, unsure what to do with this information. “A tiny horse? Is she cute?”
He smiles, nodding at you. “She’s a brave girl. I love her.” He doesn’t elaborate any more on the topic because he seems to be lost in thought again. “I know you said you’d help me get home, but I also need to talk to the princess. She had dreams about Ganondorf so she believed me when I said that he was truly as evil as she believed- but she also has the Ocarina of Time. If she can trust me with it, maybe I’ll be able to use it to find Navi.”
You bite your lip and try to control your breathing. Legend is actually crying in the background. You catch him but you’re at liberty to corner him and ask him what the deal is.
Warrior looks simply heartbroken. He’s got his own issues here but your attention is on the young boy.
“So are any of theses guys your boyfriend?” He pokes your stomach. You jump and snap your arm to protect the spot, taken aback by the emotional whiplash.
“No.” You have to keep yourself from adding onto that answer.
“Oh...Is your partner not here?”
“I don’t have a partner. Why do you say that?”
“You’re just pretty.” He says it so casually. You’re almost jealous. “I thought that you would have had a partner. But if you’re here then they’d be worried about you. So I was curious.”
“...Right...” You force a smile onto your face.
Tiny Time turns to you and actually smiles. “I bet you’d look great with flowers. That’s what we used to do in Kokiri Village and everyone would get to look nice and pretty.”
“Sounds like fun.” You’re not reeling. It’s fine. You can survive this.
“I can teach you.” He takes your hand and starts to swing it.
Ok, you give up. You’d do anything for this kid. “I’d like that.”
But how are you going to get him back to the way he was?

Okay okay, I had this in my notes for a while waiting for MLP to be open for requests again so: concept of Twilight with a Draconequus Darling? I can't remember if there was a specific line of thought when I wrote this down tho, maybe the Darling is just as chaotic as Discord
Oh, sure! I'll do some ideas I have for this.
Yandere! Twilight Sparkle with Draconequus! Darling
Short Concept/Reaction
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Attachment issues, Delusional behavior, Clingy behavior, Bad mental health, Manipulation, Forced companionship.
Tumblr media
There has been only one of your kind known in Equestria.
You, on the other hand, have not been caught.
Mostly because you prefer to stay in another dimension.
Your behavior could be like other Draconequus, chaotic creatures hellbent on mischief.
That or you could be one of the kinder ones of your culture.
You'd most likely be chaotic, such a craving for chaos set in full swing by the time you decide to investigate Ponyville.
You've heard of Discord in Ponyville, curiosity got the best of you to check it out.
This is when Twilight meets you.
She herself was not expecting more of Discord's kind.
In fact, she feels she dreads it once she sees you pull the same things Discord did.
Chaotic pranks, pestering ponies, altering the fabric of reality....
By this point, Discord is reformed, so Twilight tries to get him to help reign you in.
It takes a long while, but encouragement by your own kind calms your desires.
This whole "friendship" thing must be pretty powerful if it caused Discord to reform.
Fluttershy most likely can't handle two Draconequus, which means Twilight is stuck with you.
This begins your little companionship that soon grows into you being all Twilight can think about.
Twilight has her castle at this point, which leaves space for you.
Spike certainly hates the idea of you moving in.
Twilight is determined to change you, however.
It takes time but the young princess introduces you to Ponyville culture.
You even consider reading books with her.
Twilight slowly grows attached to you, taming your chaotic personality.
Similar to Fluttershy and Discord, you two are really close.
Twilight never thought she'd become so attached to you, her affections on the edge between best friends and something more....
The castle is sometimes even decorated by you, by Twilight's suggestions to prevent anything... too chaotic.
Twilight goes from stressed about your presence to calmed and happy.
The other Mane Six are surprised just how close you are.
Discord is even impressed the princess likes you so much.
You didn't torment her too much, did you?
Twilight would treat you similarly to her basic yandere behavior.
She does research on your culture and tries to understand her feelings towards you.
You are special to her, she wants to know why.
If you're as affectionate as Discord, Twilight would be weak in the knees.
You're clingy... and she likes it.
Spike would be the first to notice Twilight's behavior towards you.
The research, the affection, the obsessive behavior.
She isn't right in the head.
You may also encourage it accidentally, finding her behavior either cute or interesting.
You have no idea about her worsening mental health.
Seeing the alicorn so clingy... you thought that was just a pony thing.
You're not usually around them this often-
You leaving Ponyville now is out of the question for her
Twilight would panic if she simply saw you not in the castle.
She may treat you more like a beast she's taming due to her feelings.
She wants to keep you behaved and at her side.
Even if using magic and manipulation to do it is wrong....
Due to your powers, you could leave.
Yet Twilight's mental health will deteriorate and she may not act rationally.
She may just track you down with a spell or Discord.
Now that you've entered her life, reformed due to her help... she doesn't want you to leave.
Not after everything you've both been through.
Overall, Twilight would probably fall for you while reforming you.
Then she'd do everything she can to keep you happy in Ponyville, beside her.
Even if it meant figuring out how to seal you in stone like Discord.
"With me, you'll never want to leave Ponyville! ... or me-"

Fallen (2016)
Tumblr media
What’s truly shocking is not the number of films who tried to capitalize on the success of Twilight. The surprise comes when you realize that - despite being a bad film - the original is one of the few to “get it right”. Fallen swaps out vampires for angels and the results are so disastrous it’s a wonder it was released theatrically.
Troubled teenager Lucinda “Luce” Price (Addison Timlin) is sent by her parents to “Sword and Cross”, a reform school for young adults. There, she notices that handsome Daniel (Jeremy Irvine) keeps acting strangely around her. There’s something amiss about him. Luce and her best friend Penn (Lola Kirke) become determined to find out what, though Luce secretly fears he is connected to the strange visions plaguing her.
While initially Fallen may not seem all that Twilight-y, give it time. It’s got the twist on the mythical creatures (if you can call angels that), it’s got the love triangle as Luce contemplates the ever-distant but handsome Daniel and "bad boy" Cam (Harrison Gilbertson). It even steals scenes directly from the 2008 film, like the one where Edward saves Bella from being crushed by an out-of-control car, confirming his identity as a supernatural being in the process. This puts me in the awkward position of - once again - having to defend Twilight and explain why it “works”.
Here’s the thing. Firstly, vampires are not real. Their abilities aren’t even consistent from one myth to the next. It’s fine to make up what happens to them in sunlight. Criticize the romance all you like, but it made sense, in that story, for the decades-old bloodsucker to fall for the plain girl: he can read everyone's mind but hers. You understand the appeal, or at least you see how it’d be plausible. Secondly, Twilight is relatively simple story. Jacob being a werewolf isn't introduced until New Moon and had the first picture not gotten a sequel, you would’ve never been the wiser. Finally, The film ends on a note that’s relatively conclusive. It never became overconfident. So yes, Twilight did some things right. Not convinced? Let's compare it once again to Fallen.
An immediate issue is the picture’s overcomplicated mythology. We’re told that Angels waged a war in Heaven, that some sided with Lucifer, others with God. A select few couldn’t make up their mind and were cast down to Earth (hence the term fallen angels). Over time, they picked sides… all except one, who sided with love. Until they stop thinking with their heart and pick either good or evil, all fallen angels are stuck on Earth. Got that? If not, don’t worry, the film explains it to you twice at the beginning of the picture. It should be easy to understand but then the film confuses you with some bewildering decisions. Of all the names you could’ve chosen for your protagonist, why “Luce”?! It sounds too much like Lucifer. Maybe there’s a revelation in the second, third, fourth or fifth book in the series, but that’s just another problem: this script follows the book too closely. We meet so many characters who serve no purpose or do so little they could’ve easily been trimmed out at no loss. Screen time would've been better spent on scenes that would at least attempt to make the incoming “twist” about Daniel less obvious. We only see Luce attend two classes: religious theology, and fencing. What kind of reform school has those two courses in its curriculum? These exposition dumps are so obvious you’ve got the whole movie figured out long before the ending… assuming you were able to understand that whole bit about the angels and the war in heaven earlier.
About that ending. Director Scott Hicks isn’t satisfied merely leaving us on an incredibly silly-looking action climax. They end the picture with a "to be continued" so unsatisfying you can't believe no one told the emperor they weren't wearing any clothes. This is where I guess I have to give it a bit of credit. At this point, I've invested so much time and energy making fun of this preposterous scenario I want to know how it ends. A sequel will never happen in a million years so I guess that means I’ll be reading the books…
Among the legions of Twilight knockoffs, Fallen isn’t the lowest of the low but it is kind of fascinating. It’s basically a sanitized, Christian version of a story in which vampires were themselves sanitized. It’s not good. It’s not even so bad it’s good, but if anyone involved with the production is reading, I’ll watch the sequel if you shoot it. (On DVD, October 6, 2018)

How would yandere Damian Wayne react to his beloved having a fondness for books? Will he get jealous that she keeps gushing about non existent fictional characters? Lol I have a feeling he will 🤣
I absolutely love this idea, it was fun to write.
Trigger Warning: Abuse
(Not on Damians end but Y/N’s father)
Nothing descriptive and very brief.
~*~
Damian had met his beloved at school after she was the only one who didn’t chase after him. She didn’t even seem to notice he was there. He was determined to change that.
The first day they talked he introduced himself, waiting to see her reaction to his last name but gained nothing more than a polite introduction from herself than she returned back to the book she was reading before he interrupted her. If she hadn’t got immersed back into the book than she would have seen the surprised look adorning the young Wayne’s face.
From there on he was determined to know everything about her. He used the bat computer to find out that she lived with her father in a nice house near his own. Her mother died during child birth and she had no siblings. Damian wished he didn’t have ‘siblings’ even if he never called them that. Well... maybe Grayson. But Todd could go along with Drake.
He decided to go to her house to check in on her and his excuse was to gather intel, but what he saw was not what he was prepared for. Damian saw Y/N’s Father yelling at her as if she had nine something terrible. Damian watched as the man cursed out his young daughter making Damian scowl and tighten his hands into fists. But they suddenly stopped fighting so Damian left as he had school tomorrow and he wanted to talk to you then. If he had stayed a second longer he’d have seen her getting locked into the cupboard under the stairs without dinner.
But luckily for her she had books. She read hunger games, Harry Potter, and many more. Even twilight even though she absolutely despised the ‘Bella’ character. But they all had love. She loved to read about love and the feeling of euphoria it gave people.
“Maybe one day.” She thought to herself.
The next day Damian Wayne talked to her again. He made more progress but it was hard to keep her away from her book.
It continued for weeks and then to months. He had slowly broke down her barrier and she finally stopped ditching him to read a book.
After 3 months of talking and Damian following her around daily to make sure she was safe he finally asked her on a date.
She met him at the park during sundown. When she arrived there was a picnic blanket with a basket on it and a couple of cushions. She saw someone walk up to her from where they were sat by a tree and they gently grabbed her hand and led her to the set up.
“Do you like it?” Damian asked nervously. He knew that this date was what determined his future plans. She was his beloved even if she didn’t exactly know yet. If she didn’t like the date or found out she didn’t like him the same way he loved her than she would learn to with force and time or she could love the date and he will spend every moment of the day with her after he asks her to be his.
She smiled widely, liked it? She loved it! It was exactly like something out of a book. A grand romantic gesture.
He smirked at her smile and he just knew he was already successful in gaining her feelings. He noticed the shiny glint in her eyes.
“I love it Damian. Thank you.” She spoke smiled at him and leaned over to give him a hug making his heart spike with happiness.
They had a wonderful date and it resulted with a 2nd and 3rd one. Then he dropped the question and she couldn’t bring herself to say anything but yes.
Even as she noticed that some of the few friends she had distanced themselves from her after she agreed to be Damians girlfriend after the 3rd date.
Even when some of her romance books began to disappear, which is what really made her sad. Once she told Damian with tears in her eyes that a. Few of her books were missing he gave in and hid them in her room for her to find the next day.
That’s when something happens. Y/N’s father was killed in a police shooting after he had assisted the Joker himself on a robbery. Worst part was Y/N found out over the news.
Damian was very happy with the news of the death fo his beloveds dad. He found out about the abuse after he snuck in to her house the second time and heard a lock click with no Y/N in sight.
Damian told his father about the girl and Damian played his fathers weaknesses against him he told him that she was abused and that she needed help. She needed to be safe. That thing that convinced him finally was that Damian told Bruce that she was the one and Bruce’s eyes widened greatly before he moved into a smirk. Of course his son had found his beloved, Bruce was a Yandere too of course, where else would Damian have got the tendencies from? His mother Talia or his grandfather Ra’s? They both would be caught dead saying the four letter word.
That’s how Y/N was adopted by the Wayne’s.
That’s how she ended up staying in the room next to Damians.
That’s how she ended up being with him 24 hours a day, since he got his classes switched so he was in all of hers but when it was questioned it was for academic reasons.
Y/N was sad though. She had no friends other than Damian. Her father was dead, her mother was dead, she had no family. No matter how bad her father treated her all she could think was that she deserved the pain.
A month after the shooting Damians Yandere side began to progress. She wasn’t allowed out of the Manor without being accompanied by him if she was allowed to leave at all.
She had been taken out of school alongside Damian by Bruce at the request of his son who didn’t like that boys and girls were looking at his beautiful beloved.
He was obsessed with his love.
A few months after living in the manor, meeting everyone, and adjusting to Damians possessiveness and rules she was doing okay. She wouldn’t dare go against Damian after he had guilt tripped her after she said she wanted to be alone for awhile and take a walk. Damian was glad that she was so easily manipulated that she didn’t even attempt to fight his love. He had to protect her form the cruel world he had experienced first hand. Her kindness, innocence, and trusting nature would get her killed in Gotham. But there was nothing to worry about because he was there to protect her. He always would be.
But she grew slightly distant from Damian after she began reading the books in the Wayne Library. There was a whole room stocked shelf by shelf with books.
She had been in there reading a book where the main character was trained with a sword and was a Assassin but he fell in love with his target. That’s where Damian saw her after he had been searching for after he began to getting annoyed after being away from her for so long.
“What are you reading My Beloved?” She had gotten used to the nickname and would slightly blush at every use of it. It was another thing that seemed like it was straight out of a book, he was her knight in shining armor.
“It’s called His Mission, His Love. It’s about this dashing guy who can sword fight and is a very skilled Assassin. He falls in love with the girl he was supposed to assassinate for his group of assassins. But he failed it by falling in love. I haven’t found out what happens yet. He sort of reminds me of Finnick from that other book I told you about, Hunger games remember? Well he wields a trident and it looks super cool and...” she was cut off from Damian snatching the book from her hands and shutting it without even marking her page making her lose her page.
“Hey!” She cried out as he tossed the book across the room. He scowled when she yelled at him which result in him standing directly in front of her as she sat on the couch and he leaned down to her height the grabbed her chin making her face towards him instead of that insufferable book he had tossed across the room.
“You don’t need that book got it? You have me, and you only need me.” He spoke looking into her eyes as his face was only inches apart from her own.
“But...” she began to say. She loved books, it was nice to image the love. But she couldn’t exactly say she didn’t know the feeling for herself now after dating Damian. He had done so much for her to keep her safe and well after he father died.
“I can sword fight, I’m a assassin, I am even more handsome and richer than any character in those terribly pointless books. You don’t need them when you have me.”
She looked at him weirdly and that’s when he realized that in a fit of jealousy - over a book character- he admitted by secret he hadn’t told her yet.
“Assassin? Fighting? What are you taking about Damian.”
He rolled his eyes at her but explained.
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m Robin. My fathers batman, Graysons Nightwing, Todd is Red Hood, and Drake is Red Robin.” He watched as her eyes widened making him begin to lose himself in the beautiful eyes he loved so dearly.
“Really?” She said in disbelief but it did make sense. But that’s when she suddenly blushed at a thought and by the fact it took her so long to blush Damian was thinking that she was thinking back to her book character again as her eyes darted away from him coincidentally to where the book was.
“What are you thinking about My Beloved?” he demanded in a cool tone that was laced with jealously. He grip on her chin tighten a little more and his other hand laid on her waist.
She murmured something he couldn’t hear which was very surprising as he was so close to her.
“Repeat what you said but louder. Please” he spoke waiting for her to say she was thinkjnt about the assassin from her book but he wasn’t prepared for what she would say.
“I used to have a crush on Robin, he is my favorite.” She spoke then closed her eyes willing the blush that adorned her cheeks to disappear.
This would be the first time that Damian let out a huge smile and a slight laugh of disbelief.
“I pictured him... or well you as the character from my book because of the similarities.” She spoke still lightly dying from embarrassment which worsened when he scooped her up from the couch and into his arms before kissing her face multiple times while she laughed at the feeling. Then he sat down o the couch with her in his lap, not letting go as she tried to climb out of it.
“Stay here My Beloved. Why don’t I tell you real stories?”
And that was how Damian got jealous... over himself.
And how Y/N found out the identity’s of the Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and most of all Robin.
And it all started because of a book.

Roughly How I Would Write Twilight As A TV Show
SEASON 1 (AKA Book 1, Twilight)
It would start out with the typical Renee sending off Bella at the airport, but I think she should give her the camera now instead of later in the series, sort of like a send off present and it gives Bella an actual hobby. From the first scene it shows that Renee likes her daughter, but she doesn’t really cares and loves her, and that’s more on Bella’s side than hers, as Bella will hug her before going into the airport and Renee will let go before Bella and Bella will just keep hanging on to her, showing that she doesn’t really want to be separated from her mom. Also, throughout the first season she will be constantly checking her flip phone (I still want this to have the same time setting) to see if her mom messages her, but she never does, which will sink Bella into a deeper and deeper depression each time she checks.
When she and Charlie meet it’s really awkward, but both sides are trying and both sides feel bad about making things awkward. Also throughout the first season whenever they start getting closer Bella will sort of put distance between them and then hate herself for it. Perhaps she pushes him away because she is unused to this type of parental love and it makes her nervous. When she gets to school she meets Jessica whose very nosy but because she’s a self proclaimed reporter and likes to know everything about everyone; and she does. Except for the Cullen's, and that’s why she’s so obsessed with them, because she doesn’t know enough about them or she senses their is more. When Edward first sees Bella, whose eating with Jessica and only Jessica because she has a bad rep around the town so she has no real friends, he can’t read her mind and that really freaks him out. We’ve now shifted perspective towards the Cullen’s, and Edward is having a crisis because he’s grown so used to knowing every person’s thought it sort have turned him into a bit of a control freak and now he’s not sure how to handle this, and his siblings are trying to calm him down. Also later, probably that night, he’s freaking out and he wants to go see her and maybe test if he can read her thoughts when she’s asleep, which his family’s all like ‘bruh stop’ but he doesn’t bruh stop and tests it out, only to find out he can’t and he doesn’t try again.
When Bella and Edward meet Bella doesn’t really care much about him and his weird behavior, but then he stopped a car with his hand and then she cared a whole lot more. Maybe after the hospital she tests it out, seeing if she was actually crazy or not. Like she steals one of her dad’s handcuffs and before class handcuffs Edward’s seat to the leg of the table then during class suddenly goes really close and Edward scoots away really fast, breaking the handcuffs, or just something similar to that where she tests if what she saw was actually real. She gets into a few more conversations with Edward stretched out, at some point maybe Bella will throw the golden onion at Edward in anger, who knows. Throughout this entire season we will be constantly switching perspectives from Edward and Bella, which will give us some more time with the Cullen siblings and their dynamic.
Anyway, Bella will ditch the dance to go to the city and then the beach Charlie requests for her to take a at least three friends, and so she recruit's Jessica, Mike and Jacob, and this is where we first meet Jacob Black, but not the first time we meet Mike. With Mike, I kinda completely changed him, and he’s now a kid with serious anger issues and a tendency for small amounts of arson and fights, which makes him an outsider like Jessica, but they never hung out as fellow rejects or anything. Charlie was probably a bit late picking up Bella from the airport because he was busy driving Mike home from yet another case of arson. He never really gets charged with anything, since Charlie has sorta took it upon himself to look after him. Anyway, Bella probably had taken a picture of him when she first got here and that made him really mad but she had ran away. Now, as she approaches him to ask him to go to the city with her, he tries to fight her, but as they fight she still asks him to go to the city and than the beach with her, which kinda throws Mike off but he actually agrees because he’s worried his mom is worried about him not having friends, so they make a deal about pretending to be friends but of course they turn into real friends. Now with Jacob, Bella goes to his house to ask him, and find him fixing some weird broken thing with the music blasting and him singing along. When he see’s her he immediately knows it’s her and is thrilled. Charlie also came along to see Billy and we see cute friendship moments between them, also Charlie confessing his worries about Bella and Billy giving him advice.
So these four head on out to the city, and it’s the first time these people have come together and they slowly form a tight friend group. They roam the city and start chaos everywhere they go. Mike teaches them all how to shoplift although finds out Jessica is practically a pro, Jacob wants to roam through the dumpsters for parts he can use and the rest of them help him with Mike setting the occasional fire in these dumpsters, Jessica shows them how to stalk people and they tail a guy all the way home but they forgot about the not going inside his house part and the guy notices them so they need to make a run for it, and Bella is trying to take all these picture and nearly dies due to her clumsiness and determination to take the perfect pictures which lead to the rest of the gang saving her from falling off a building or onto the subway tracks or something. All and all, they’re each surprised about how much they like each other, except for Jacob, he liked them all from the start.
So they decide to all go out to eat before heading to the beach and Bella says she wants to go to the book store really quick and to not wait up for her. She had actually seen this book about anomalies and such through the window earlier that day, and she decided to go back for it. She had decided to go to the city originally because the drama with Edward was getting to be too much and she just needed some time away from Forks, but that book had captured her attention. Anyway we go to Edward and his family, who were at the city because they figured it would prove a nice distraction from Bella. Alice couldn’t say that Bella would be in the city because Jacob is with her and they don’t really outright say that he’s a werewolf yet. At some point the Vam Fam had smelled Bella and Edward went to go see her, much to his Vam Fam’s disappointment.
So Bella almost gets attacked by that group of guys and Edward steps in and they get to talking in the car he had stolen; well, technically Alice was trying to steal it but when he sensed Bella he took it from her and drove off. They go to the restaurant where her friends are and confirm that she has a ride with Edward to the beach, although at first he just says he’ll take her home afterwards since he can’t go to the beach, but Jacob’s all like ‘nah bro I’ll give you a pass’, since Jacob couldn’t care less about whatever feud is going on. So they eat and have an argument and they go back to the car all angry, and Edward is still bitching about how he doesn’t understand what Bella thinks or feels, since what with reading minds for roughly a century he doesn’t really remember how to properly understand a person, and this frustrates him. Before they go into the car, Bella checks her phone to see if her mom and texted her back. You see, before going on this day trip Bella decided to take initiative and text her mom first, since she didn’t do that before cause she was worried about bothering her. She did this early in the morning, and it was already night, and her mom still hadn’t texted her back. This caused sort of an emotional breakdown from Bella right there in the parking lot. She’s basically all like ‘fine, you wanna know what I’m thinking? well here you go’ and she just tells him everything, about her current situation with her parents, why she decided to move here even though she didn’t want to, how she just always wanted her mom to show that she loved her so she would always do everything to get that love, how guilty she feels for not being able to give Charlie the daughter-father relationship he probably wanted, feeling guilty wanting to be loved by her mom, basically screaming all her trauma at him. At the end she silently gets in the car and looks out the window as they drive away.
Edward feels kinda bad, so they have a nice bonding conversation, and Bella is still freaked out about his speeding. Anyway, it’s during this conversation that they both sort of develop//realize feelings they have for the other person. At first, Edward was just drawn to Bella because he was unused to not understanding people and he became obsessed with knowing her, and as he had gotten to know her he developed feelings. As for Bella, throughout this she had been interested in his inhuman nature and was equally as obsessed to understand and then also ended up falling for him. Basically they fell in love because of a desire to get to know the other person and desperate to make the person not know them. But when Bella tore down her walls in that parking lot Edward also told her some personal stuff, and I think it’s here in this car that Edward drops the bomb about being a vampire, and with now more fully understanding each other and no longer having that draw of being close to each other because of wanting to understand, there still a desire in both of them to keep seeing each other and that’s when they both realize their love.
Anyway, Edward drops Bella off and leaves immediately, but we still see people that live there scold Jacob for telling him it was okay to come drop of Bella. The squad have fun at the beach and Bella gets some great pictures, although she’s still digesting the whole Edward’s a vampire and she might be in love with him thing, so she tells her knew found friends about the whole being in love part and glosses over the vampire bit. Back with Edward, he tells his Vam Fam about being in love and telling Bella, where there are definitely mixed reactions. Now this is where they start interacting with Bella directly, rather when before they just tried to get Edward to chill about her. Alice is of course thrilled about this and has publicly declared Bella as her new best friend; it was an actual public declare, she had a microphone and announced it several times in the middle of town. Rosalie is super not thrilled about this, and definitely treats Bella coldly, although she’s thrown off at Bella’s apathy. Emmett, like Alice, is 100% down with this. Jasper is cautious, but otherwise just wants to watch it all unfold. Carlisle and Esme weren’t happy about exposing them to some teenager, but they support his endeavors none the less.
Anyway, after many shenanigans Bella is invited to dinner at the Cullen's, and she brings along Jessica, Mike, and Jacob. The family’s a bit wary of this guest list, as it was the girl who had tried several times to break into their house and expose their secrets, a well known arsonist, and a soon to be werewolf. But, they actually all had a grand time, and they all kinda start acting like one big family. Particularly Jacob with Jasper and Alice, and Jessica with Rosalie and Emmett, to set up my plans down the line. Now, I’m not saying that there NEEDS to be a polymerous relationship with these two sets of three, but I’d like for it to happen. Jacob would probably notice Jasper’s not really enjoying himself at this socializing stuff, especially with the smell of human blood and all, and Jacob comes over and they get to talking and Jasper will get into that, and it’s helpful that since Jacob is in the future going to be a werewolf he doesn’t have the urge to eat him. So Alice will come over, thrilled that Jasper is having a good time, and then her and Jacob will probably get into something wholesomely chaotic and Jasper will just sit back and watch, enjoying the drama that will come from this. And with Jessica, she’s asking a million questions and exploring the house as much as she could, and Rosalie has taken it upon herself to try and placate her, but Jessica ends up roping Emmett into something and Rosalie now needs to look after him too, but somehow they all have a good time. Meanwhile, I feel like Mike would really vibe with Carlisle and Esme, not in a polymerous way like the others. They’re so exasperated by his behavior but never rude to him, which he finds jarring and it encourages him to be nice to them, and they sort of become like parents to him.
Anyway more stuff happens, probably romantic stuff between Edward and Bella and Jacob kinda slowly realizing he has feelings for Bella more near the end of the season but not letting it show, and then there comes the baseball scene. While they’re doing baseball Jessica actually put a sort of spy camera thing on Bella, but Edward wasn’t around when this was happening, and Jacob was with Jessica when she did this so Alice couldn’t see it. Anyway, Jessica, Jacob and Mike go about spying and they find out that about the whole vampire thing, Then the other vampires show up and they actually drive down to help, driving out onto the field, nearly running over the other vampires, which by the way, besides Victoria, James, Laurent, there’s actually going to be two more vampires with them. I say this, because after getting out of the car, Mike throws a match at this other vampire which sets them ablaze. James, who afterwards comments how he always hated this vampire, takes this opportunity to tear them to pieces as they burn so they die, while Victoria and Laurent are in the back like ‘this bitch really just did that; this is why we can never add new members to our group’. I dunno, I feel like this group of three should be a lot closer and maybe not spilt up or something, like their actually friends.
So now James has two objectives; make Mike into a vampire, and eat Bella, in no particular order. He just takes a really big interest in Mike. Anyway, Laurent is just so done with this drama, and tells James that the Volturi was probably going to be really upset about four non vampires being in on the secret, so they probably don’t want to get involved when shit hits the fan, and Victoria, who is always down for a little murdering, convinces him that they need a more careful plan then just going after them. So James reluctantly agrees, but when they leave he tells the other vampire that’s there to go after Bella and Mike and bring her to him without telling the other two.
So drama ensues, they gotta keep Mike and Bella from dying, they gotta deal with more people knowing their vampires, etc. I think that the vampire that now’s gotta track down Bella and Mike, who I’m gonna call Eric because this is Eric now, isn’t super down with this but is going with it cause he doesn’t want James to kill him. So he feels bad about all this and becomes pretty sympathetic, and the Vam Fam at some point will try and convince him to just join them and that they’ll protect him, but Eric didn’t do it so they had to kill him in the end and it’s very sad.
Anyway, we’ll probably go back to the vampire trio and they figured out that James sent Eric away and now Eric was dead, and they’re just talking. Also, I’m making Victoria and James not mates, because I don’t want that. And there’s the dance that of course needs to happen, and at the end of the season it shows how far Bella’s and Charlie’s relationship has progressed, and with Bella injured she needs Charlie to do some things for her, and she’s forced to accept parental care and learns that it’s actually not that bad. She also stopped constantly checking to see if Renee had texted her. So back to the dance, the Vam Fam siblings and Bella with her friends all go and of course cause chaos that gets them kicked out of the dance. So they decide to go running around town instead, and Bella and Edward have a quiet moment together and it’s nice.
SEASON 2 (AKA Book 2, New Moon)
So the Vam Fam doesn’t leave town, because I don’t want them to. There was going to be a birthday party at the Vam Fam’s house, and along with Bella’s friends Charlie’s invited and he tries to invite Billy too but then Billy turns him down saying he can’t go there, which makes Charlie sad so now Billy’s sad and he grits his teeth and asks the Vam Fam to hold the birthday party somewhere on neutral ground, so they do and they end up going to like the woods or something, maybe that special meadow Bella and Edward had gone to. So the party’s going fine although it’s a little tense with Billy there, which kinda makes the rest of the people there confused. Jacob doesn’t really get why his dad hates the Vam Fam, or why most everyone he knows does, and he tires to get them to get along, but it fails.
When Billy sees Jacob all friendly with the Vam Fam, particularly Jasper and Alice, Billy tries to put a stop to that, telling Jacob not to get to close. Jacob’s trying to make light of the situation, being all like, ‘nah dad, you crazy’ and Emmett joins in trying to make a joke of it; I feel like Emmett and Jacob would have such a Fred and George Weasley vibe to them as friends. However, as Billy gets more and more persistent with Jacob cutting himself off from the Vam Fam, Jasper gets noticeably hostile, not liking that idea at all, and ready to throw down with Billy. Alice, also visibly upset but not hostile, tries to calm him down while the rest of the family tries to reason with Billy, as they are also not thrilled with the idea of not seeing Jacob again and they don’t want Jasper to fight Billy and break the treaty. Bella’s trying to get everyone to calm down by reminding Billy that this is her birthday party and uses her birthday privilege's to ask him to leave it for now. Meanwhile Mike is yelling at Billy and Jessica is writing everything down, Charlie’s asking Billy to not ruin his daughter’s birthday party, it’s a mess all around.
At some point Billy says something that goes to far and Jasper lunges for him and the Vam Fam need to stop him and such. After the party Jacob takes Billy home, and both of them think that the other doesn’t know about the vampires so they’re just kinda tensely all like ‘well that was weird, probably nothing to really look to deeply into though, haha’. After the party to lighten the mood Edward starts bitching about how he couldn’t give Bella a present, and so Bella takes a picture of him and says ‘there, now you gave me a present, happy?’ and it’s very cute. Jacob gets a bit upset at Jasper, telling him that he shouldn’t attack his father and stuff, and Jasper doesn’t feel bad about it and is just sad that Jacob is now upset and Alice is trying to get them to make up, which they do eventually. And Charlie questions Billy about his odd hatred and Billy kinda dodges the questions.
So in this season it’s basically about how Edward and Bella are dating and Jacob is secretly in love with Bella but it’s not a secret to the Vam Fam thanks to their powers and then Jacob deals with the werewolf thing and how he’s suddenly supposed to hate them. It’s a very Jacob centered season. And there is of course the motorcycles, which are there because Jacob gave them to Bella as a birthday gift, saying he had found them at the dump a few days ago and still need to fix them up, so now they start hanging out alone more to fix the bikes, although sometimes Mike and Jessica tag along. This is also where Bella learns that she actually really likes the rush of adrenaline, much to Edward’s nagging. There’s also going to be some tenseness between Edward and Jacob in this season, but it’s more quiet since Jacob never outright says he likes Bella, although after he learns about the whole mind reading thing he doesn’t know what to do about that. And of course there’s the jealousy from Jasper and Alice’s side, who are slowly coming to terms with their feelings for Jacob, and are heavily conflicted because he’s going to be a werewolf and they can’t be together after he turns but they still want to make the most of the time they spend together, and it makes Alice anxious when she can’t see Jacob’s future which makes him unpredictable to her and she worries if something bad will happen to him when he’s out of her sight which in turn makes Jasper sense her worry and makes him worried so they try to be around him as much as possible, which he enjoys but is a bit thrown off by.
This is where Jacob introduces his other friends Emery and Quil. I want to make them a bit more distinct from each other, so I want Emery to be the quieter yet very rebellious one that does crazy shit, and Quil to be the more extroverted one but can get very moody and cynical, which Leah can definitely vibe with and they often have deep conversations. Speaking of Leah, we also meet Leah and Seth this season. The Vam Fam is less than friendly towards them, similar to how they treated Jacob at first, the only difference being that they didn’t end up warming up to them, except for Leah and Rosalie, who became surprising friends.
Jacob gets stressed about the situation with Emery suddenly joining Sam’s little cult, and while the Vam Fam sympathizes with him, they don’t tell him the secret. He’s not super surprised that Emery suddenly got into the group, since Emery’s always doing crazy shit and so does Sam’s pack, but he does find it weird that he’s suddenly not talking to him and Quil anymore. So Jessica is now super ready to expose all of Sam’s secrets on this weird group and how he sucked Emery into it, so she, Jacob, Bella, Quil, Leah, Seth and Mike keep trying to find out about Sam’s crew, and Jasper and Alice try to put a stop to it, worried that finding out will trigger Jacob’s transformation, and Rosalie and Emmett sometimes give assistance because Jessica asked, but they don’t get to involved because of the treaty, and Edward is really worried about Bella while she does this so he’s torn between helping and stopping it, shifting from helping Jasper and Alice and Rosalie and Emmett.. And this sort of mystery solving thing carries on for a while, and at this point Sam and his crew are pretty fed up with it.
So then comes the time when Jacob becomes a werewolf, and happens after him, Bella, Mike, and Jessica take a break from spying and cause chaos at the movies; the employees saw them enter and they already knew it was going to be a rough day. Bella was recording the movie illegally, Mike set a small fire to the popcorn, Jessica broke them into where they were making the movies play and that’s where they watched it, and Jacob, in his sickened state, accidently broke the thing playing the movie and they had to bolt. Bella, Mike, and Jessica all get worried about him, and they try to go visit him at home but Billy keeps pushing them away, and the Vam Fam wouldn’t give any details, so Jessica does what she does best and breaks in, where Jacob nearly attacks her in his wolfy state, but he manages to calm down and he and Jessica talk about how he’s turning into a werewolf.
So after Jacob can go out and about, the pack tells him he can’t hang out with the Cullen’s anymore since they’re vampires, and Jacob’s all like, ‘okay, but they don’t hunt people, they hung animals right? so what’s the problem lmao’ he’s genuinely confused why they need to be all hostile towards them. And here while they’re trying to convince him to not hang out with vampires it can show the dynamic of the pack. Sam can come across as too harsh and a very dominate person, while his second in command, Jared, is much more chill and tires to broaden Sam’s narrow view. But Jared is the only one who can do this, since they’re very close and possibly lovers that have imprinted on each other. Emily is actually a werewolf now, and she got her scars because she and Sam actually became werewolves at the same time and when they first met as werewolves their hormones were all over the place so they attacked each other and that’s how Emily got her face injuries. Anyway, she’s got a level head too but she mostly thinks about what’s best for the pack rather than everyone like Jared does. Then there’s Paul, the guy whose always of the mindset to throw punches first and ask questions never. I’m going to make Brady and Collin here now too, and with Brady, he’s honestly apathetic to the idea of now being a wolf, and would much rather go read a book or something then be here with all this wolf drama. As for Brady, she’s pretty social awkward, but just as vicious as Paul if she gets into the mood. Basically, she’ll be all like, ‘uh, hi, yeah, um, maybe we should, uh, if you don’t mind that is, just go in and kill them all? please?’ and I changed Brady to a girl just to help with the ratio of boys to girls in the wolf tribe. As for Emery, he’s the one who will put himself in the most danger, but also he’s at odds with Sam what with them being half brothers and not having the best relationship before all this wolf stuff went down. Also, Jessica is there too when Jacob goes to meet them, which the pack isn’t happy about, telling her she can’t report this.
Anyway, the Vam Fam are depressed about the whole situation with Jacob cause they really liked him, so imagine their surprise while Bella and Mike were also hanging out at their house when Jacob and Jessica burst in. Jacob explains what’s been going on, basically asking if he can break the treaty and still hang out. Rosalie’s all like ‘bitch no’, nervous about the safety of her family, and Edward sides with her, much to Bella’s glaring. Esme and Carlisle, are hesitant, but do give in. And Alice, Jasper, Emmett are of course ecstatic of this news that he didn’t suddenly hate them. I think this is actually an opportunity for Jacob to get closer to Jasper and Alice, since Jasper can help with Jacob’s new found anger. I think werewolves when they first become werewolves they have an explosive temper, kind of like puberty, but then after a few months or however long they calm down. Anyway, Jasper can help with managing his anger, and this may result in some codependency's now that I think about it, but these books are built on codependent relationships, so the more the merrier.
But then the vampire trio tell the Volturi about the situation down at Forks, and the Vam Fam need to go down to the Voltari to go talk to them. But Jessica, who had actually started to gain a lot of odd information on the vampire world as any good reporter would, hears the news of the potential planned killing of the Vam Fam set up by the vampire trio, so now Bella, Mike, Jessica and Jacob need to go to the Volturi to put an end to that. Before the Vam Fam could even get to the Volturi, James gets all impatient and starts attacking them right then and there, in front of all those people. A fight scene happens, and then Jane shows up like ‘surprise bitch’, but then the real surprise comes when Bella and her friends show up, causing a scene and it accidentally lets James and his crew to get away.
I think it would be a cool scene if Jacob, Edward and Bella enter first ahead of the rest of them and the moment they’re in front of the Volturi, with Aro looking at them, he’ll smile and say something like ‘a vampire, a werewolf, and a human; what an oddity you all are’ and since these three had kinda been a bit at odds this season what with Jacob’s crush on Bella, now they are a united front. So they make an arrangement for them all to become vampires within a certain time frame or else they will be killed. Aro also says that they’ll occasionally go check up on them.
Now Edward’s being all emo and avoiding Bella, which makes her sad so Jacob goes and tracks down Edward and he bolts, so now Jacob is chasing after Edward, being all like ‘bitch you better go see her’, and he actually ends up catching him. Edward’s all like ‘but don’t you love her’ and Jacob just kinda shrugs and says something like how mutual love is much better than a one sided one. They have this heartfelt talk about stuff and Edward goes to see Bella, and Jacob, who at this point had just been comically chasing Edward around, allowed himself to cry once Edward left. Then he’ll go talk to Alice and Jasper, and throughout this entire season it seemed obvious that they were both trying so hard to keep hold on the ties they had, regardless of the obstacles, and now it’s kind of come full circle when they can just relax and be together and stuff, also there will be a small hint of Jacob’s returning feelings towards them. So Edward and Bella share a moment, maybe back at that meadow or something.
But the last scene of the season will be Leah and Seth at home with their dad Harry, and the whole Leah transforming which gives Harry a heart attack and then Seth transforms too, and it’s just going to be a very jarring scene to end on.
SEASON 3 (AKA Book 3, Eclipse)
So the first scene will be with how James, Laurent and Victoria are making their army and this is where Bree comes in. Victoria is honestly thriving with this whole army thing, and James is just super impatient and wants to just go kill em, and Laurent is low key stressed about pissing off the Volturi.
But with the wolf pack, there’s a new dynamic that Leah and Seth brings and there’s the whole grief with their father, so maybe the just refuse to transform for a while, sort of defying the pack and it’s alpha and choosing not to be a part of it. So that’ll cause drama for a while, as if there wasn’t enough with Jacob still running around with vampires and by the looks of things getting way to close to Jasper and Alice. Jacob is trying to get over his love of Bella, and is doing pretty good, much to the delight of Jasper and Alice, but they don’t want to rush things. Also, I don’t think werewolves should be able to share thoughts so they know exactly what’s happening with each other at all times, but instead when they shape into werewolves they can communicate with their minds. That way Jacob can keep it a secret about the whole turning three humans into vampires thing.
Also, with the idea that they now how to eventually turn three humans into vampires or else they’ll die is kinda unsettling to the Vam Fam. They’re trying to decide when to do it, and they all have different opinions. Jessica and Mike are honestly ready right now, but Bella wants to wait till after high school since she worries about Charlie, Rosalie and Edward wants to do it never and would honestly rather try and bring down the Volturi, Emmett will be down for honestly anything whether it be doing it now later or fighting the Voltari, Esme, Carlisle, and Alice actually agree with Bella and think waiting till they move town again would be the smartest plus Alice looks into the future and thinks that it’ll be the best possible outcome, Jacob is just upset that they’ll all be leaving him although he is reassured that he is welcome to come with although he’s not sure how that’ll pan out with the pack, and Jasper just says he’ll take care of things when they turn since he knows newborns best and just watches everyone fight over the timing since he lives for the drama. And this will also be the season of Vam Fam backstories, so throughout we will get flashbacks of what each of the Vam Fam went through. Their backstories will basically be the same, except I’m gonna tweak Jasper’s and make him a slave that was forced into fighting for the confederate side.
Also, per their promise, the Volturi will occasionally pop in just to check up on them, which will cause the wolves to mad about that. ALSO, listen, what if Aro and Marcus became low key friends with Charlie? LISTEN they keep coming around to Forks, and eventually Charlie will approach them because he hears that they’ve been talking to his daughter and he asks what’s up. Aro and Marcus will bring him to a bar or something and lie about it, but as they get to talking they somehow start bonding, and Aro and Marcus are like ‘what’s happening? what spell is this human casting upon us?’ but it’s just Charlie being the best as usual and them starting to like him. So now they’re friends that often have conversations as the season goes on, and when Billy catches wind of this he is super unhappy, wondering how Charlie can be so chill yet so prone to getting into dangerous situations, kind of like his daughter.
And since last season the polyamorous relationship that got more time was Jasper, Alice, and Jacob, so now we’ll shift more towards Rosalie, Emmett, and Jessica. Rosalie is obviously super unhappy about having to turn Jessica into a vampire, since although she loves Jessica she didn’t want her to end up like her and was content with having to leave her in order for Jessica to leave a normal life. So now throughout the season Emmett and Jessica take it upon themselves and the single brain cell they share among the two of them to reassure Rosalie in the best way they can; also, it really establishes how Rosalie is the brains of this trio, with Emmett being the himbo and Jessica being the stubborn dumbass.
So then news about the vampire trio building an army and such travels to Forks and Jessica is actually the first to hear of it. Also, the objective of this vampire army is more world domination than just tracking down Bella and Mike, although that’s definitely part of it. Since the Volturi is already after them, why not strive for world domination? We’ll also keep having scenes of the vampire army shenanigans, particularly with the vampire trio and Bree. Also, Alec and Jane were in charge of the tracking down the vampire trio thing, and they discovered the army, and they were gonna put a stop to it, but then they met Bree. They probably met while Alec and Jane were debating how to take down the army and the vampire trio and such, when some random drunk guy showed up and was being a creep towards them, so they were gonna finna destroy him when Bree popped up and threw a rock at him, took the two and ran. They get to talking and shenanigans' and they actually grow attached to her, but Bree is a very weak vampire, which is odd for a newborn, so they know the Volturi won’t accept her and that would mean they would have to kill her. So they keep delaying the killing of the vampire trio and the army to hang out with Bree some more, tortured by the idea that they’ll have to kill her eventually. Also, I’m gonna make Bree their age, or make them Bree’s age, whichever works.
So anyway, with the threat of the vampire army, the vampires and the wolves are forced to work together. Aro and Marcus know that Jane and Alec are supposed to take care of it, but they’re kinda amused so they’ll see how it all pans out. And of course chaos ensues and nobody can get along, which bugs Bella the most because she has this thing about making everyone around her happy at the cost of herself, so she comes up with idea of doing a group bonding exercise, like they all go to an amusement park or something, which she in fact hates but does for the sake of bonding.
So back to the Leah situation, she needs to go through a whole arc, and Seth does too. Leah probably low key thinks Seth blames her for the death of their father, but the thought never crossed his mind. And since she’s avoiding Seth because of this, Seth thinks that Leah doesn’t want him around. So they need to clear up that understanding, probably with the help of Emily. While Jared makes sure Sam doesn’t slaughter all the vampires and potentially Jacob, Emily tries and mends things within the pack.
At some point, Leah and Mike get kidnapped by the a few members of the vampire army. What had happened was Leah and Mike were hanging out, as everyone was taking shifts trying to get Leah and Seth to transform again, and Seth had run off at this point, and Mike was surprisingly making some serious progress, when a few members of the vampire army, including Bree, saw them and was like ‘oh wait, isn’t that Mike? from the pictures James showed us? and that girl has black hair, is that Bella bro?’ so they kidnap them.
So Leah is super not Bella and the vampire trio get angry and punish them, well, Laurent kinda just watches. So Bree will meet up with Alec and Jane kinda messed up from the punishment, also, Bree still has no idea who Alec and Jane are or even what the Volturi is. But anyway, when Alec and Jane find out about this they are very unhappy, and hatch a plan with Leah to go get the Vam Fam and the werewolves and come fight the army now, now that they have a location of them. Jane and Alec are doing this rather than taking them down themselves because if the rag tag team of vampires and werewolves were the ones fighting and not them then it would seem more reasonable if one of them were to escape the battle and disappear, that being Bree.
Mike isn’t there when this plan is hatched because he’s taking with James, who wants to turn Mike into a vampire now, but his other two friends keep telling him that Mike will just turn on them and they need to convince him to join their side while he’s still a human. So him and James hang out and although Mike is cussing them all out, him and James actually have fun causing destruction, and he also causes the biggest case of arson he has done yet, which gives him a rush. Also, Leah is trying to turn into a werewolf now, given the dire circumstances, but she can’t and she doesn’t know why.
So Jane and Alec tell the crew about the kidnapping and the location, so they all head out. Jessica and Bella try to convince the Vam Fam to just turn them into vampires now so they can help out, but they say that they’ll just be unconscious for a few days so it wouldn’t help, but Jessica and Bella say that they can be like a back up plan if they fail, so when they wake up they can avenge them or something. And this is the first time the werewolves aside from Jacob heard about the plans to turn three humans into vampires, so discord ensues but they don’t have enough time so they just go to the vampire army with Bella and Jessica tagging along, thanks to Alice who said they would in fact be useful.
So they get to the army and the battle ensues. Seth is now in werewolf form, wanting to protect his sister, and when Leah sees Seth in a tight spot, she manages to turn into a werewolf again and protect him. Mike is actually very attracted to the idea of destroying the world, but when he sees his friends, he doesn’t want them destroyed so he doesn’t go to the side of the vampire trio. After a lot of epic fighting and some unexpected teamwork, the vampire army is destroyed, and within that chaos Alec and Jane took Bree and high tailed it out of there, explaining the whole situation to Bree. She’s kinda upset that they were planning to kill her, but then Aro and Marcus appear before the situation with that could get too out of hand. Marcus senses the strong relationship the three have, and tells Aro that they will indeed lose Alec and Jane if they kill Bree, and they kinda need them so Aro plays if off like ‘why didn’t you tell me you guys wanted a new friend? sure she can join the Volturi’  and although they are confused they’re just happy Bree’s gonna live, and now they can be together.
So the vampire trio retreat, still alive somehow, and the vampire army is gone, and they got Leah and Mike back, plus Leah and Seth transform now, so all’s well that ends well. Also maybe Brady and Leah get together, which would have been set up throughout the season. Why? I dunno, because I want Leah to be happy, and also with the personality I gave Brady it would be a fun dynamic I think. Brady is all shy while Leah has a much more forceful personality, but Brady is always ready to cut a bitch while Leah isn’t all that down with hurting people most of the time. They’d probably imprint on each other.
So back with the whole Emmett and Jessica trying to convince Rosalie not to worry too much about Jessica turning into a vampire, Rosalie had known what they were doing since the beginning, and to her surprise it actually slightly worked? Not really but Rosalie chooses not to focus on the fact that Jessica will be turned into a vampire, but instead that they’ll always be together, and it’s sweet moment for the three of them. And so the Vam Fam decide to do the vampire turning thing after high school, and Edward asks if they can do it after his and Bella’s honeymoon, since he and Bella had an arrangement. Now, the audience knew about this since Bella throughout the season had been asking if Edward wanted to sleep together since she wanted to do that as a human, but he’s very adamant about the whole wait until marriage thing, so he proposed at probably the worst time, and she accepted.
But the Vam Fam didn’t know about this, so now their all dealing with that, and agree let Bella wait until after and Jessica and Mike will turn first. So some days go by and they’re planning the wedding, and then what a surprise; Renee shows up, having heard about the wedding from Charlie.
SEASON 4 (AKA Book 4, Breaking Dawn)
Wedding time, yay. Also, Renee is creating a super uncomfortable atmosphere, what with the whole Bella feeling neglected from her, and also she brought along Phil, her new husband. Everyone’s acting pretty protective over Bella, eyeing Renee up. Particularly Edward; whenever he sees Renee he just glares at her full on while holding onto Bella, and whenever Renee tries to talk to him he throws so much poetic shade Renee doesn’t even know what this man is talking about.
Bella’s kinda tense about Renee being here, and tries to get along with her, but after getting all that parental love from Charlie, she forgets that’s not how Renee operates, leading to some tense moments between her and Renee. But the wedding planning continues and Alice is stressed because these chaotic idiots are ruining her perfect planning skills. But the wedding goes on and it actually goes off without a hitch. Well, except for Mike causing a teeny tiny fire to only ONE of the bouquets, and Bella did end up tripping going down the aisle while bringing Charlie down with her so Edward went over to her and they both had to go to their places together, and Emmett and Jacob did do that drinking contest but Emmett left out the part where he couldn’t get drunk and Jacob got absolutely wasted so Jasper was in charge of taking care of him, Jessica was trying to get info on the other vampire guests which was annoying them while Rosalie stood menacingly behind her to make sure they didn’t try and anything, and one of those other vampire guests did end up sort of trying to attack Billy, but other than that it went great.
But before the wedding came to a close Bella realized that she’ll probably never see Renee or Charlie again, so she pays a lot of attention to Charlie, but near the end she asks Renee and Charlie to take a picture with her, one that she could keep for after. She and Renee got on better terms, and Renee admits that she could have been a better mother. So Bella and Edward go on their honeymoon where they have tons of sex and we get lots of scenes of that, but back in Forks, disaster ensues.
So Mike and Jessica are getting ready for the whole going to be a vampire thing, and the Vam Fam makes arrangements to move. Mike and Jessica leaving won’t look weird, since they just graduated high school and it’s not like they have anyone particularly close here, well, except with Mike’s mom. So he goes to say his goodbyes to her, and it’s very sad because Mike knows they’ll never see each other again but his mom doesn’t. And then there’s the whole situation with Jacob going with them, which his pack and dad aren’t happy about. So he’s trying to convince them, when suddenly him imprints on Alice and Jasper. Now it’s official; he needs to go with them, and it’s actually a kind of sad goodbye to his dad and the werewolves that were actually his friends. So now the Vam Fam has included Jacob in it, now it was Jessica and Mike’s turn.
So the Vam Fam and Jessica and Mike go to the new house and they turn Jessica and Mike into vampires, with Rosalie being the one to do it for Jessica and Carlisle doing it for Mike. Then, the vampire trio show up to ruin things, and there’s a big fight, and James and Mike have their own separate fight going on. Throughout this entire series, it would be shown the parallels between Mike and James, how naturally violent they both are, how it seems to be a match made in hell for these two. But now it seems like their violent ways had caught up so them, as they fight with everything they got and enjoying the hell out of it, and so Mike and James die together, having killed the other one. Mike’s final words will probably be something like ‘damn, I just got these cool ass powers; I was gonna do so much’ and James laughs and is like ‘hell yeah, you missed out’ and after they say that they die, hand in hand.
The vampire trio, now the vampire duo, is devastated at this news, James was like family to them. So they run off but swear revenge, even Laurent pissed off now. They all mourn the death of Mike, and Alice was taking it especially hard because she had relaxed on the future seeing and didn’t see this coming. Then she saw the thing with Bella being pregnant and went to go call her to tell her that she was pregnant and Mike was dead.
Bella had already suspected the pregnant party, but the Mike being dead took her so off guard she actually fainted, although Edward caught her. They go to the house where the wolf pack was already there at the request of Jacob, to help fight when the vampire duo attack. Although, they are not happy with the pregnancy. It’s very emotional for a while, what with Mike dying, Jessica dealing with being a newborn, and Bella on the verge of dying with this baby she refuses to give up.
So she gives birth and dies but comes back a vampire, and now Renesmee is out in the world, which the Volturi doesn’t like. We go back to the Volturi and get some scenes with them, also with Aro and Marcus consoling Charlie about his ‘dead daughter’ who they actually feel genuinely bad for. Also we get scenes with Bree, Alec and Jane, who are just having a grand time, although some of the other vampires pick on Bree for being so weak, Alec and Jane roll up and they’re on their knees in front of Bree begging for forgiveness, which she gives much to Alec and Jane’s pouting. In any case, the Volturi know about Renesmee, and they need to go kill her.
So Bella’s discovering her mind blocking powers, and Edward is losing his mind about how he finally knows why he can’t read her mind, and Jessica learns she doesn’t really have any powers other than an average vampire. Life goes on and such, and Bella and Edward are getting really attached to Renesmee, loving the hell out of her and doing their best to figure out how to be parents, and this is when the coupling of Jacob with Alice and Jasper and Jessica with Emmett and Rosalie is now official, so they get couple moments. But then the Volturi rolls in. Alice does her thing and shows what will happen if this battle happens so they roll back out, but then Victoria swoops in and straight up kills Renesmee, then Bella kills her. Laurent is there, but after Victoria dies he realizes that all his friends, his family, are dead, and so he just closes his eyes and allows himself to be killed.
So after Renesmee is dead, Edward and Bella are really going through it, and then Bella just reminds Edward of his days of killing murders and pedos and such, and she kinda hints that she’d be totally down for some of that. And so now it’s murder road trip time of killing murders and pedos, and the Vam Fam isn’t upset about the killing really, their just worried that this might not be the healthiest way to handle the loss of their child. But they do and we get to see a bunch of their killing fun times, and there’s actually going to be a time jump of maybe like 30 years or so, when the Vam Fam is in a different town doing stuff, and then Edward and Bella show up and they’re all reunited. Edward and Bella settle down from the killing joy ride, although they hint that they wouldn’t be adverse to doing it again if they get into the mood. So now that’s their cute couple thing; killing murderers and pedos.
EXTRA DETAILS
Couple pet names would consist of;
Edward to Bella: Love, My Lion  (Edward had that dumbass line about him being the lion and her being the lamb, but I’m gonna change it so he was like ‘at first I thought you were the lamb and I was the lion, but I realize it’s the opposite’ or something stupidly emo like that and Bella’s all like ‘Edward pls’ but the nickname stuck)
Bella to Edward: My Lamb (same explanation as above)
Rosalie to Jessica: My Little Storm

Edward: Italy
Alice: Wales
Rosalie: France
ALSO throughout the entirety of the series it’s probably going to have more Edward and Bella moments then what was written, since this is a story about their romance, I just thought I’d put in other stuff and mention it since the romance scenes would be pretty obvious.

It's finally here people! Eekkk! It'll be up on A03 later when I turned my laptop on. Been teasing this for soooo long.

"Yer take care of yourself lass, don't worry about us."
Phoenix sighed at the man on the other end of the phone, twisting the silver rosary he had given her for her birthday many years ago. The world had changed dramatically for them all since that day. Their history bloody and violent and God sent.
"Are ye listening lass?"
"Of course, I'm listening! It's you who isn't! I'm on the way to Atlanta now!  As in I'm already in Georgia! I can't let you three rot in there when we've got things to do!"
"Lass, we can take care of ourselves. Connor wants to know if ye got our package?" He asked, she stifled a laugh at the noise of the pair fighting over the phone she could hear.
"Yea I got it. Haven't opened it yet though" she replied, the bike's engine growing colder under her. "What's in it? You guys shouldn't be sending anything. You're lucky Duffy and Dolly got it t' me before I left Boston."
"I know lass but ye need t' keep those safe fer us." She smiled hearing her other friend's voice, clearly having won the battle for the phone. "Look things are getting bad here. You're safe now but things are gettin' weird, we'd never forgive ourselves if anything happened to ye. I love ye too much"
"I love ya too, you idiot! I'm gonna get you all out. We have a mission! I've got a bag full of your stuff right here on my bike, your clothes, coats, guns."
"Aye. What?! No? Yea. Let me say goodbye a' least?" Phoenix knitted her eyebrows, hearing the man talking to someone else. A prison guard maybe. "Lass we have t' go. I'll call ye back when things settle aye?"
"Yea. Just tell me where you are at least?"
"Sorry lass I got to -"
The line suddenly died on her and she frowned, shaking the phone and seeing no signal. She ran her hand through her short dark red hair and started the bike up, speeding quickly towards Atlanta and her boys.
                                                      **********
The sun shined through the thin, flimsy material of the tent, shining directly down into the sleeping pairs eyes. The short, spiky, dyed haired young woman groaned and threw her arm over her face. She sat slowly and yawned. She'd had that dream for weeks, wondering what had happened to her friends.
Had the prison been overrun by the monsters that lurked in every corner? Were they dead? Or worse... Had they become one of those things?
She'd slept after her watch shift, which surprised the girl as she had been having a bad bout of insomnia for the last two weeks. Ever since...
No, she thought don't think about it.
She glanced at the young boy laid next to her and smiled. When Carl asked if he could sleep in her tent with her the night before she had been hesitant (mainly because Lori rarely let him out her sight) but Lori had said it was okay and she was not going to fight against the long-haired beauty.
Lori had also said it would be good for her, get her to trust others again. And honestly the boy reminded her so much of her old friend with his boundless energy and smiles.
A gentle tap to the roof of her tent set her senses on guard. She grabbed her long calf length boots and her Bowie knife and slowly pulled the zipper up. A sigh released from her throat as she squinted up at the crossbow welding man in front of her.
"We goin' hunting or what?" He snarled at her, obviously still mad at the woman from their disagreement yesterday. It wasn't her fault. He had spooked her...
Merle approached the dark red haired girl sat by the quarry lake silently. Something was up with her and he was determined to find out what. The sight in front of him worried him slightly, she was nervous and kept flicking her head around. Had she been bit? He was thankful the darkness of the twilight hid him somewhat as he watched. She hissed as she pulled the bloody bandage off her left hand, flexing it and hissing through her teeth. The soft sound of something hitting the surface of the water, made his heart thump. It wasn't raining so why did it sound like it was?
He came right behind her and watched as she rubbed at the wound, it oozed blood and yellowish white pus as she gritted her teeth. Infection was setting in. Daryl called out his name from camp and the girl spun and noticed him there.
"Ya shouldn't be down 'ere by herself girlie." He whispered, kneeling and gently taking her hand, examining the injury intently. "Now wha' we gonna do abou' yer hand? Yer can't take what I offered yer."
"Burn it again. Only thing we can do. Not like we can wander to nearest pharmacy, throw my hand on the counter and say fix it, is it?" She hissed as he prodded a sensitive spot, Merle chuckled slightly and helped her to her feet.
"Nah but China is headed t' the city tomorrow. I'ma go too. I know my meds and I'll get yer what yer need t' be right as rain again, Lil sis." He said with a smirk as they climbed back up the slope to the camp. Daryl and Shane spun round at their footsteps and Merle smirked. Officer ass-hat was on one about something.
"Phoenix! Where have you been?! We told you to stay in camp until you could fight!" Shane whisper-yelled in her face.
"Easy there officer. Girl just needed a second by 'erself... Gets a bit loud round here." Merle defended her, placing himself between the well musculared man and the girl who seemed to shrink into herself. "She's fine. I was a watchin' her."
"I bet you were Dixon." Lori said under her breath. Phoenix glanced at the woman with eyes narrowed. The majority of the camp thought the Dixons were rude, brash and shouldn't be there. Only Phoenix, Glenn, Andrea and Shane knew of the incident that had cemented the brothers in the camp's good graces, well in their good graces.
Phoenix sat down at the small fire infront of her tent and sighed, her ears picking up on raised voices coming from the Dixon tent. It sounded like Daryl was majorly pissed about something and Merle was defending himself.
Isn't any of your business she thought ignore them.
She gazed deep into the fire, the heat warming her frozen limbs nicely. She hated the cold, not that it was cold but she felt like she was sat on a box of ice in just her underwear. She had experienced working in much colder situations, hell the Irish rain was colder than this. The sweat on her brow made her eyes ache and she closed them, leaning her head back.
"Ahh!" She shrieked, jumping up and thrusting her knife backwards towards whatever had grabbed her shoulder. A deep grunt sounded and her hand was twisted, causing her to release her grip of the blade's handle.
"Ain't no need t' try t' gut me girl." Daryl growled, his gruff voice instantly calming the nervous woman. She sighed and held her hand out, Daryl raised his chin and regarded whether to return her knife or not for a moment. He relented at her raised eyebrow and dropped it into her left hand. She hissed in pain and clutched at her wrist. Quicker than she could pull away, he'd wrapped his hand around her wrist yanking her closer and pulling the bandage off her injury. He could see how raised and angry it look, grimacing slightly as it oozed at his poking. Tears of pain welled in her eyes as she grit her teeth, he grumbled under his breath and glanced over his shoulder at his older brother. Merle nodded and raised the half empty bottle of whiskey in a salute. "This why Merle is leavin' right?"
"Yea, told him he didn't have to." She whispered as he released her arm, her skin tingled at the lose of contact. Daryl ran his hand over his neck and bit his lip.
"Ye need meds. Ain't happy a' him, riskin' his neck fer someone like ya." He groaned under his breath. Her mood soured and she shoved him away. He stumbled for a second and threw her a glare. "What the hell is ya problem girl?"
"Someone like me Dixon? Huh? What exactly do you mean by that?!" She folded her arms across her chest. Daryl's eyes flickered downwards for a second to how her arms pushed her breasts higher and more together.
God she's gorgeous when she's mad he thought, his cock twitching in his jeans. He ducked his head and scoffed.
"Ya know what I mean, can't even hunt without hurtin' yaself."
"Go away Dixon." She turned on her heel and stormed off up the bank, and climbing up the RV ladder to take watch. Daryl sighed and slopped off back to his brother, who was laughing, finding the whole scene hilarious.
                                                    **********
Phoenix nodded up at the hunter and pulled on her boots and grabbed her bow. She followed Daryl over to his tent where his brother was preparing to go into the city. Merle gave her a once over as she approached, his eyes narrowed at the bow across her back and the stains on the bandage around her left hand.
"Mornin' Firebug." He drawled as the pair stopped. She nodded and heaved her backpack tighter to her shoulder beside her quiver of arrows. "Y'all gonna be alright t' hunt wit' tha' hand?" He questioned, giving his brother a glance. Daryl gave Merle a hooded lidded look and nodded his head up. "Don't wanna waste my time if ya gonna drop down dead on poor Darlena 'ere."
The girl smirked and shoved the older man's shoulder playfully before flipping him off, striding towards the treeline.
"You watch 'er baby brother. She's one of us now."
"Hmm" Daryl said, glancing at the girl as she waited just under the cover of the trees for him. Merle gave a low chuckle and Daryl glared at him. "Stop."
"Come on baby brother, don't be like that." Merle stood and patted him on the shoulder. "Ya been pining after 'er for weeks now. Just give her some of the ol' Dixon charm. If ya even have any!" He barked out a laugh as his brother scoffed and walked away, joining the girl and disappearing into the woods.
                                                    **********
A low whistle drew her attention and she glanced in the direction of it. Daryl raised his hand and pointed off towards the copse of trees in front of him. Keeping her body low to the ground and her steps feather light she approached him. Her eyes darting out at the small herd of deer in front of them, they'd finally found them after two days in the woods. She raised her hand and pointed to the smaller of the two bucks. Daryl nodded and gestured he was going to try and get around them so if they darted he could take a shot. She nodded and crouched lower, using the shrubs to hide her. Daryl wandered away silently as she waited for his signal.
A loud shriek pierced the air and the deer scattered. Daryl swore and took off after the smaller buck, Phoenix following him at a distance.
                                                    **********
They stopped by a small creak, Phoenix dipping her hand into it and running it over the back of her neck. She felt like she was on fire, yet icy cold at the same time. The infection in her hand had well and truly set in, she needed to be careful or she'd drop and not get back up.
"We go a littl' further then stop fer the night." Daryl mummered beside her, wiping his soaked red rag over the back of his neck and down his face. She nodded, eyes staring off into the stream. He watched her carefully, the way her hair at the back of her neck was slightly curly, the way her ears twitched as if she was a rabbit or a deer hearing a predator. He found her beautiful and mysterious. A riddle he wanted to solve. He couldn't help his attraction to her physique either, the woman was beautiful. Not perhaps every man's wet dream but he found her incredibly sexy.
He admired how she wore gothic, all black, metal studded and chained clothes despite the heat, her short dyed dark red hair, the regrowth hinting at sandy blond, spiked with sweat these days that cried out to be tugged as she was kissed, the slight thicker set of her thighs, buttocks and stomach, he much preferred a girl with a bit of weight than the skinny, almost starved look some of the women up at camp had; the ink he could spy under her clothes was calling out for him to discover exactly how many tattoos she had and why she'd chosen them. He had seen a glimpse of the tattoos on her by accident when he'd stumbled upon her at the lake having a quick swim and also when he'd found her in the woods. She kept herself well covered normally, she said she got sunburn easily. He could spy an interesting shaped scar across her collar bone when she wore lower cut shirts, not that she did very much now.
Not since he'd saved her in the woods a week or so ago.
He loved how well they worked as hunters together. She knew enough to track decently and was surprisingly quiet on her feet, despite the heavy metal covered, thick platform soled boots she chose to wear. They're only issue seemed to be that they butted heads constantly when not hunting, both taking verbal swipes at each other whenever they tried to have a conversation, sometimes she'd slap him on the arm; Merle finding it hilarious and entertaining to join in. Damn Merle, was his fault she got hurt in the first place. If he hadn't egged her on about her lack of hunting abilities, she wouldn't have been out in the woods by herself in the first place.
He sighed quietly as she raised to her feet and moved away, eyes scanning the forest floor for the deer's tracks, finding them and leading the way.
                                                    **********
Daryl grunted as he lowered himself down beside the girl, who was turning a stick through the weak fire in front of her. The night was silent except for the light wind. He silently settled down against the log and took out of one of the squirrel for the pair to eat. Daryl made quick work of gutting and skinning the small rodent and shoved it on a stick to slowly roast over the flames. The girl's eyes drifting upwards towards the stars. She looked so peaceful that he didn't want to disturb her.
"We gotta head back in the morning if we don't find the deer." She nodded and pulled her arms around her own shoulders, shivering slightly. "Come 'ere." He said, holding his arms open for her to settle beside him. Daryl usually hated touching others and being touched was a rarity for him but he'd made the exception for her while they hunted. It was simply for survival he told himself. If she got too cold she'd get sick and then the group wouldn't have a hunter when he and Merle left. And he'd feel that guilt all his life, the kids needed fresh meat so he was doing something for the group. Nothing to do with his stupid little crush. Nope, he was doing it for the group. She shuffled closer and wrapped an arm around his waist. Her head found his chest and she sighed, feeling the heat from Daryl seep into her cold bones. Daryl frowned, she felt hot yet she was shivering like crazy.
That damn hand.
He pulled her closer and ran his hand cautiously up and down her arm. She flinched at first then relaxed into his embrace.
"Ya alright?"
"Yea. Just cold." She whispered, her warm breath causing goose bumps across Daryl's chest. She blinked slowly, feeling sleep call her. The smell of Daryl's warm body lulling her, she had missed falling asleep in a man's arms. It was familiar and comforting. She felt safe, warm and protected despite the dead walking.
                                                    **********
The sharp whistle drew her attention to the left. She nocked her arrow and let it fly, hitting the deer in the hind leg causing it to run. The two hunters had caught up to the deer earlier and were driving it towards camp. Daryl was in the rear urging it forward, while she made it turn in the right direction when it veered too far to the left.
She spotted the steep banks that marked the outer edges of the quarry and smiled.
Almost home.
Taking another shot to steer the deer towards the lower bank she smiled. The group would eat well tonight. She stumbled and shot at the hind leg again. The deer in one last desperate burst of energy slipped out of her sight but it was very close to camp. Wouldn't take long for them to catch up.
                                                          **********
Phoenix paused and braced her arms on her knees, Daryl whistled in question, asking if she was alright as he walked by her. She held up a hand in reply. He grumbled and walked away. She could hear yells and the sounds of stomping as she neared the rocks that hid camp.
Daryl was knelt on the ground and looking over the deer.
"Think we could cut around the chewed up part?" He said looking up at Dale and the others. Phoenix's eyes narrowed as she spotted a new face amongst the men. The group of men didn't seem to notice her as she joined Daryl at his side, subconsciously seeking his protection from the stranger. Fear made her heart pound loudly in her ears as Daryl stood.
"I wouldn't risk that" Shane said quietly, Daryl sighed dejectedly frustrated he hadn't been able to feed the group more.
"That's a damn shame. We got us some squirrels... About a dozen or so. That'll have to do."
"Oh my god!" Amy gasped as the head of the walker suddenly began to gnash its teeth.
"Come on people! What the hell?!" Daryl exclaims as he releases a bolt through its undead head. "It's gotta be the brain! Don't y'all know nothin'?!"
Phoenix smirked, shouldering her bow as she followed Daryl back into camp. She gave a glance over her shoulder at the group behind her, noticing the exchange of looks between them.
"MERLE! MERLE! Get ya ugly ass out here! Got us some squirrel! Let's stew 'em up!" Daryl calls out, Phoenix swivelling her head to see where the elder Dixon was.
"Daryl, just slow up a bit. I need to talk to you." Shane called, his hands on his hips as the group avoids Daryl and Phoenix's eyes.
"About what?" Daryl queries, pausing his march around the camp. Phoenix, instinctively, taking Daryl's back with a bad feeling in her gut.
"DD... Hear him out." She whispers as Daryl narrows his eyes in suspicion. Daryl glances at her briefly before turning back to Shane.
"About Merle... There was a... There was a problem in Atlanta." The former officer sighs, his hand reaching out as if to pacify the man. Phoenix grits her teeth and reaches for the gun hidden behind her shirt slowly, sensing this was not going to end well.
"He dead? "
"We're not sure..."
OH shitttt Phoenix thought, slipping the brace of squirrels and her bow off her shoulder.
"He either is or he ain't!" Daryl stated, his voice raising in anger as his face grew more dark.
"No easy way to say this so I'll just say it." The newcomer said quietly, stepping into the discussion.
"Who are you?!" Daryl asked, confused slightly as to what this stranger had to do with his brother's disappearance.
"Rick Grimes."
"Rick Grimes?!" Daryl spat aggressively, his face a mask to the hurt and anger underneath. "You got summit ya want t' tell me?"
"Your brother was a danger to us all, so I... I handcuffed him on a roof, hooked him to a piece of metal... He's still there."
"What the fuck!?" Phoenix snarled as her eyes narrowed at the newcomer. Her stance widening, readying herself for a fight. Daryl began pacing, his eyes meeting hers, she gave a barely there nod in agreement with him.
"Hold on... Let me process this. You're sayin' you handcuffed my brother to a roof and you left him there!?" Daryl growled as he paced, the woman edging towards Shane, out of Daryl's path to Rick.
"Yeah."
Daryl growls loudly as he throws his rope of squirrels at Rick, who dodges them easily.
"Hey! Watch the knife!" T-Dog yells as Daryl pulls his knife. Shane dodges Phoenix and gets behind Daryl, quickly putting him into a chokehold. Phoenix steps up behind Shane, her own knife slipping into her grip, her gun giving a low click as she removed the safety and pointed it at the curls of Shane's hair.
"Okay... Okay..." Shane whispers, lowering Daryl and himself to the ground.
"You'd best let me go!" Daryl gasped, struggling to free himself.
"Do as he says!" Phoenix snarls, her Beretta a mere breath away from Shane's skull.
"Chokehold's illegal!" Daryl grunts, thrashing his legs. Phoenix lowers her gun to Shane's shoulder, ready to pull the trigger if needed.
"You can file a complaint!" Shane laughs weakly. "Come on man. We'll keep this up all day."
"Like shite we will. I'll shoot ya first mate!" The red head growled as Rick kneels in front of Daryl and Shane, his head tilting to the side.
"I'd like to have a calm discussion on this topic. Do you think we can manage that? Do you think we can manage that?"
Daryl grunts, ceasing to struggle, slapping his hand out to the side of him; silently signalling to the woman to stand down as Shane hums in question.
"Mmm...Yeah." Daryl replies.
Shane releases him quickly and steps away as the younger man raises himself to his feet. Shane's eyebrows raised as Phoenix pulls herself to her full height, him and Rick giving her a worried glance. She smirks and makes a show of putting her knife and gun back into their places. Rick turns to Daryl and rubs the back of his neck slowly.
"What I did was not on a whim. Your brother does not work or play well with others."
"It’s not Rick's fault!" T-Dog interrupted, the large man stepping closer. "I had the key... I dropped it!"
Phoenix scoffed, glaring at the man.
"Ya couldn't pick it up?!" Daryl questioned, his anger disappearing and being replaced by worry and anxiety.
"Well, I dropped it in a drain."
"If that’s supposed to make me feel better, it don't." Daryl snapped as he shook his head, pacing in a small circle. Phoenix joining him at his side and glaring daggers at T-Dog.
"Maybe this will... Look, I chained the door to the roof... So geeks couldn't get at him... With a big ass chain and padlock. Its got to count for something!"
"Hell with all y'all! Just tell me where he is... So that I can go get him." Daryl choked out, his voice cracking with tears as Phoenix gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
"So we can go get him." She declared, daring anyone to argue with her. Daryl gave her a tiny up nod at her and squeezed her hand on his shoulder lightly.
"He'll show you. Isn't that right?" Lori spoke up from the door of the RV, she looked to Rick quietly awaiting his reply.
"I'm going back." He stated quietly. Lori sighed and walked into the RV.
                                                   *********
Phoenix pulled on her long studded leather jacket and secured her axe into the specialised holster on her back. Daryl stood beside her silently, chewing his lip. The Brit have a slight wobble as she got lighter headed and Daryl's mind came to only one solution to a major issue between the pair.
"Hey."
"Hey DD. You ready to go get Merle?" She asked, bending to tie her boot laces.  "Yea... Ya not comin' though."
"What!? You can't be serious DD! You need me with you so those picks don't leave you there as well!" She snapped back as he turned to walk away.
"Daryl!"
"Nah. Ya hurt. Too many geeks in the city fer ya axe. Stay here. Keep safe." He argued back, she growled in her throat and pushed by him. His hand wrapped around her arm in a bruising grip.
"Dixon..."
"Listen... Stay here. I don't... Just... Fuck." He hissed. "Merle will be pissed. Real pissed."
"He'll of been baked in the sun ya mean! He is gonna be stir fried from the heat! He's gonna need someone to calm him down. He ain't gonna hurt me DD... He wouldn't hurt me." She sighed, her head beginning to throb. "I have to Daryl. I owe him one!"
"Nah ya don't!"
"Yes I fucking do!"
"No. Ya stayin' here!"
"I'm going!" She yelled, hands on her hips.
"No!"
"Yes!"
"NO! And that's final!"
The pair continued to argue for several more minutes until Shane interrupted them, the pair literally chest to chest and needing to be pulled apart before fists began to fly. Phoenix huffed and stormed away into the woods as the man agreed with Daryl. Daryl glared after the fiery woman before stomping off to the truck, missing her turning back towards the camp and leaning against a tree with her arm crossed against her chest.
Phoenix glanced at the truck Daryl stood in. She wanted to wish them luck but knew Daryl was still angry with her. He looked in her direction and nodded his head, a small smile gracing the corner of his mouth. She sighed and walked towards him, he knelt down at the open shutter and tilted his head towards her.  "Keep safe in the city DD." She whispered, gazing upwards into the man's sky blue eyes. He nodded and chewed his thumb. "Bring Merle back. Wouldn't be the same round here without that dickhead."
"Yea. Be quieter fer sure." He chuckled, smiling fondly at the girl. Phoenix reached up and pulled at Daryl, forcing him to brace himself against the ledge as she hugged him with one arm against her chest. Daryl slowly relaxed enough to enjoy her closeness and leaned his head on top of hers.
"Please come back." She whispered into his ear as he pulled back slightly, his eyes flitting around camp to make sure no one was witnessing the exchange.  He nodded lightly into her neck, his arm coming to loosely hold her waist. He breathed in her soothing subtle scent and closed his eyes to help him memorise thee moment, just in case. He cleared his throat and pulled away, feeling a certain part of his anatomy starting to stir. She smiled weakly at him with teary eyes and walked away.
"Hey!"
Phoenix turned slightly, the breeze making her hair wave over her face softly. Thee sun shining behind her making her hair look like flames licking across the crown of her head. The bruises and cuts across her face hidden in the shadows of her face and hair.  So beautiful Daryl thought, smiling slightly. His mind locking the sight into his memory as he stood and waved to her.
"Stay safe!" He called to her, she nodded and waved back. Her cheeks tinting pink at his loud show of concern as she smiled softly.

How about a RokuNami fanfic with the “Moonstone” prompt instead? I think any white gemstone can be synonymous for both Roxas and Naminé, so I’m trying to keep theme running. 😚🤍
Always here for a good RokuNami request! Moonstone symbolizes unconditional love. It’s a very pretty stone, and a good choice for both characters here. I hope you like what I came up with!
Tumblr media
Unconditional
Roxas sunk onto a bench, draping his head over the back with his mouth hanging open in an aggravated groan. He ran his hands over his face, rubbing his tired eyes, before peering through the gaps in his fingers at the sky. The clouds moseyed along the blue expanse like sailboats drifting in the doldrums of a calm sea. The sun burned a bright white ball in the sky, sending pleasantly warm rays down to earth. It really was a nice day, or so he had thought when he’d set out that morning determined to buy a present for the girl of his dreams.
Naminé, he thought dreamily. Just the echo of her name in his head twitched his lips into a smile and sent a warm, fuzzy feeling fizzling through his body. After settling into Twilight Town, the feelings of affection he’d harbored since they met in the strange mind-link of Sora’s heart had only grown; now, he was fostering a full-blown, head-over-heels crush. It didn’t take long for his friends to pick up on his wistful sulking, nor why. Hayner had warned him the previous evening that if he didn’t confess soon, he’d do it for him. Thus, he’d resolved to buy a nice gift to give for Naminé as a pretense for professing his love.
Unfortunately, nothing in this blasted shopping district seemed worthy of the pure, beautiful girl that had Roxas absolutely smitten.
The first place he’d tried was the art shop, naturally. He’d eyed a set of professional-grade colored pencils and a lovely floral-patterned sketchbook, but then he’d recalled Naminé telling Xion how she didn’t want to replace her pencils anytime soon because slowly winding them down to little nubs had a certain charm. Then, he’d meandered next door to a store specializing in bath goods. All the scents were lovely, but… He didn’t really find anything that just screamed Naminé, so he’d left empty-handed. After perusing nearly every store in the small strip mall, he was beginning to wonder if he’d find anything suitable for her.
“If I don’t find something, though, Hayner’ll make a fool outta me,” he grumbled along. He scowled at the image of Hayner dragging him to the girl and spilling all the embarrassing fawning Roxas had done over the girl. No thanks, he thought and pushed himself to his feet, sighing. There had to be something at least halfway-decent in these shops, and if not, he’d just have to buy something that was maybe just a little less than perfect.
He ambled into the next shop: a jewelry store. Naminé didn’t possess any, as far as he knew, so he already felt a little heartened as he looked around the various displays. He pored over the glittering jewels, silver chains, and gold rings organized neatly in the glass case, perusing while the attendant helped a couple giddily picking out wedding bands. He found his mind drifting for a moment to Naminé as a blushing bride, her body framed in a flowing wedding gown clutching a bouquet and smiling in utter joy.
Whoaaaa, slow down there, Roxas. You’re venturing into creepy territory, he thought with a frown, leaning down to rest his forehead against the cool glass of the display case to calm the blush raging across his cheeks. As he turned his head, a black velvet mannequin neck caught his eye— rather, the silver pendant hanging on the slim shoulders. A perfectly round, smooth stone hung from the chain. It was bluish-white, with streams of iridescence playing over its surface. Roxas was drawn to the necklace, and the attendant— finally finished with the engaged couple— took notice.
“Ah, a gorgeous necklace, isn’t it?” the woman smiled as he walked over, heels clicking against the polished white tile. She leaned against the counter as Roxas stared intensely at the necklace, transfixed. “It’s a cabochon-cut moonstone— the perfect gift for your lucky lady.” Roxas was so entranced with the pendant that he didn’t even have the wherewithal to blush at her open teasing. The gemstone was absolutely beautiful. It reminded him of Naminé— elegant, soft, pure, bright, like a star gleaming in the night sky.
“Do you know what moonstone symbolizes?” the woman asked when he finally looked at her. He shook his head, and her smile widened, slightly mischievous. “Unconditional love.” This time, the blood did rush to his cheeks, tainting them an opaline pink. He looked back to the pendant. He couldn’t get the image out of his head of it sitting so perfectly on Naminé’s chest, of her smiling bashfully while the traced the smooth circumference of the stone with her fingertip while her pretty blue eyes fluttered demurely.
This was it. This was the one. Roxas had to have this necklace.
“How much is it?”
“Far too much for a teenager to afford,” the woman joked. Roxas felt his heart plummet in disappointment and he looked at the necklace longingly. “Buuuuut,” the attendant hummed and slid over to the mannequin, making Roxas’ heart flutter hopefully, “I can tell that you want this very badly. I’ve had it for a long time and I’ve been debating putting it on sale. I’ll give it to you for however much you have.”
“Are you sure?” Roxas gasped, unable to keep his mouth from falling open in shock. The woman smirked amusedly and slipped the pendant off the mannequin, holding it up enticingly.
Roxas immediately dove his hand in his pocket to fish out the wad of bills he’d been toting around all day and slammed it on the counter. All of his hard-earned pretzel and ice cream money, gone in a flash— but it felt so worth it when she placed the pendant in a sleek black velvet-lined box and set it in his hands. He just knew that Naminé would love it, and even more, what better way to confess his feelings than with a gemstone necklace that symbolizes the purest love there is?
He felt giddiness rush through him when he flipped the box open, admiring the moonstone pendant set in soft white cloth. He thanked the jewelry store owner, closed the box, and rushed out of the store, eager to deliver his present to Naminé. The sun had crossed the horizon to blaze at its highest point in the sky, shining down on Twilight Town and filling it with warmth. At this time of day, he didn’t have to search for the girl; he knew where she would be. He made his way to the crack in the wall leading to the woods outside the abandoned mansion, clutching the jewelry box to his chest as he ducked through the hole. The temperature dropped several degrees as he emerged on the other side, enveloped by the shade of the tall, leafy trees.
He walked the dirt path winding through the woods. His heartbeat pounded in his ears, blocking out the usual melody of twittering birds and rustling leaves and lightly crunching earth. The grass tickled the fabric of his pants as the wind blew it along the edge of the trail, like the blades were wishing him luck. He came to a bend in the path where a knoll overlooked it, cool earth raining down from the jagged hill as the tree roots of the massive oak sprouting from the knoll dug through it. In the shade of its broad, leafy branches was a half-decayed log, brown, moist mushrooms sprouting from the moss-covered flesh— and upon this log sat Naminé.
She didn’t notice his slow ascent onto the knoll, too engrossed with the wild cosmos flowers growing in a patch of sunlight. Her fingers glided across the paper to bring the delicate pink petals and spring-green stems to life on the smooth page. Every so often, she would pause to sweep her platinum blonde hair out of her face and inspect her sketch, looking for any places that needed improvement or color adjustments. Roxas always thought her drawings were perfect, but Naminé’s trained eyes always found something she could do better, adjusting and adding until she finally decided that the piece was finished. Her drive to excel in her art was one of the many things he loved about her.
He watched her for a few moments, entranced by the gentle motions of her sketching. However, the necklace box burned in his hands, eager to be slipped around Naminé’s neck. He coughed politely to make himself known, and she looked over her shoulder with a light, cute gasp and an inquisitive look that made his heart flutter.
“Oh! Hello, Roxas,” she smiled. Ugh, that smile always did him in; it was so sweet, so pure, so welcoming. She turned on the log as he approached, patting the spot beside her invitingly. Roxas kept the box out of sight, tucking it in his hand next to his thigh, as he eased down on the log. The half-decayed wood bent a little under his weight and the moisture clinging to the mossy surface seeped into the seat of his pants. When he gestured with his chin at her sketchbook, she smiled bashfully but tilted it so he could admire the cosmos blooming in hues of pink and red and green and blue on the white paper.
“Great work as always,” he praised. Naminé blushed and retracted the sketchbook, using her free hand to tuck a swathe of her pretty hair behind her ear. Her blue eyes fluttered shyly as she peered at him through her lashes.
“Thank you… What brings you out here, Roxas? N-not that you aren’t welcome, I just… It’s not often you come out to see me while I’m drawing.”
Roxas shifted on the log, heat rising to his face. His palm sweated around the velvet lining of the box. Come on, Roxas! You worked so hard to get this… Just get it over with! He took a deep breath, then exhaled. Eyes still closed, he held out the necklace box. He cracked his eyes open, though, when Naminé inhaled sharply. Her hand had drifted up to her heart while the other hovered over the box, her eyes wide with wonder and surprise.
“This… this is for me?”
“Yes,” he nodded and, with a trembling hand, opened the box to reveal the moonstone pendant. Naminé inhaled sharply again and brushed her fingertips over the smooth blue-white stone. “When I saw it, I thought of you.”
“It’s beautiful…” she murmured appreciatively and looked up at him, her cheeks flushing rose. Roxas removed the necklace and motioned for her to turn; she did as bid and swept her hair away from her neck. Roxas draped the pendant over her, fingertips barely ghosting over her pale skin when he clasped it. He pulled her hair back into place as she cupped the moonstone with both hands, admiring it like the most precious jewel. Her blue eyes reflected the pretty white stone as she stared down at it, her lips stretching into a joyful smile. “Thank you, Roxas… It’s absolutely stunning. Tell me, what kind of stone is this?”
“Moonstone.”
She echoed the word in wonder, rolling it over her tongue as she stroked the circumference of the stone. Roxas swallowed thickly, blush darkening, and continued, “It… It symbolizes unconditional love.”
She looked at him with wide eyes. He almost flinched, but he didn’t see fear or rebuke in her eyes— mostly shock, with a flicker of hope within the blue depths that allowed him to push through the rest of his confession.
“Naminé, ever since we met, you’ve been someone special to me. I was perfectly content fading from existence because I knew that we’d be together forever somehow… But when we were given a second chance at life and came here to Twilight Town, I was so overjoyed that we’d be together for real.” He scooted a little closer to her, swallowing again; Naminé was just gaping at him, her cheeks flooding an opaline pink. “Naminé… I’ve loved you since the moment we met in the digital Twilight Town, even though I knew deep down that it meant I would be going away. Maybe then, that was just because we were linked to Sora and Kairi… But I know now that I love you, Naminé, because you’re you.”
“Oh, Roxas,” she breathed, tears beading on her lashes and dripping down onto her shining cheeks. He gently thumbed them away with a wan smile, and she leaned into his touch, inhaling shakily and squeezing her eyes shut. She clutched the moonstone like it was the only thing keeping her tethered to the world. Hiccuping happily as he cupped her cheek, she opened her watery eyes to smile brightly at him.
“I love you too, Roxas. You and you only.”
Roxas smiled in relief, all the nervousness finally melting from his body now that his feelings were reciprocated. He cupped her other cheek to cradle her face, absolutely entranced with her flushed, teary face. Even crying and hiccuping and bashful, she was still so beautiful. Roxas found himself leaning in without even realizing it, overwhelmed with the desire to kiss her. Naminé’s eyes fluttered closed and she tilted her head welcomingly, offering no resistance when his lips smoothed over hers. He inhaled deeply at the absolutely euphoric sensation of her soft lips, and her scent of vanilla and paper and pencil shavings flooded into his nose. It soothed him like a drug, filling his head with cottony intoxication.
He slid his hand between their bodies to wrap his hand around her own which was still clutching the pendant. They kissed for several minutes, and though he’d love to kiss her until the end of time, he forced himself back. He didn’t go far, resting his forehead against her own and smiling serenely. He could almost feel the moonstone pulsing between their hands, empowered by the love shared by the two teenagers.
Simple, pure, unconditional love.

Flowers For A Shinobi
Chapter 5: Dawn
Word Count: 3,383
Pairing: Kakashi x OFC
Previous Chapter  ❀  Archive of Our Own Link  ❀  Wattpad Link
Tumblr media
The early morning sunrise cast over the treetops of Konoha, painting the foliage in brilliant hues of orange and red. As Ayame walked towards the village's front gate, she felt optimistic about her journey with Kakashi and the likelihood of healing these shinobi. No one should have to go through such a painful and debilitating illness as she had. It was all up to her to find those scrolls and perform that jutsu. She was sure it would be executed smoothly. Hopefully.
On her back, she carried her rucksack, stuffed with tubes of all the medicinal herbs she may need, along with a handful of tools to craft medicine if required. These items, of course, were brought as a precautionary measure. She had no reason to believe that she would use any of them. Nevertheless, she brought them just in case.
Maybe she was too optimistic.
Her strappy sandals shuffled down the dirt street as she thought about the final time she had left Rōtasuagekure. She had no family left there or anywhere, for that matter. Nothing had prepared her for the devastation that originated within that village or the unsuspecting role her brother had played in it. How naive she had been.
She thought of her brother for a moment, the innocent little boy who she always perceived to be a child in her mind. He had grown up so quickly that she had hardly noticed his changing behavior until it was too late. His new ideologies had been molded by someone else. She blamed herself when she laid in bed at night, wondering if her life would have had a different outcome had she intervened earlier.
As she rounded the last corner before the main gate, she spotted Mrs. Genchi, a widowed old woman who still owned and ran the only tailor shop in the village. Ayame nodded her head in greeting as she passed by, watching as she swept the storefronts path with her withered broom.
"Good morning, Genchi-sama," Ayame hitched her rucksack further up her back.
"Good morning, Ayame-chan," The old woman continued to sweep, not looking up. Ayame wondered if the tailor shop owner questioned why she headed towards the gate with a backpack rather than towards the flower shop. She bit the inside of her cheek.
At the gate, the orange glow of the sunrise was at its brightest. It was almost blinding as it came over the horizon. The large wooden doors cast two dark shadows heading out of the Leaf. Against the brick column leaned the man everyone called Kakashi, his backpack at his feet and a book in one hand. Ayame assessed him as she drew closer, observing his profile that was concealed behind a mask. She absently wondered again why he covered his face.
Tumblr media
"Morning," he greeted as she approached. She wondered if he had seen her coming, only for it to dawn on her moments later that he is taught to listen for footsteps.
"Good morning," Ayame nodded solemnly, unsure of how he treated the seriousness of the mission. He closed his book in one hand and turned to face her.
"It seems there are more shinobi that have returned ill this morning," Kakashi informed her grievously. His voice was quiet, not wanting anyone around to hear. She leaned closer. "So this mission is growing more urgent by the day. We still have time, but the situation is becoming more serious. This totals 14 shinobi that are hospitalized right now."
"Understood," Ayame stood up straight, ready.
"Lady Hokage has her assistant, Shizune working with the Medic Corps to formulate a backup drug in case our mission falls through," He explained, his thumb stroking the spine of his book absently.
"Right. We should get going then," she nodded, turning to the gate. "Anything else?"
"Yes, actually," he reached into his backpack, revealing a pair of shin-high boots. She looked down and noticed he, too, was wearing the same kind.
"The tactical propper dispatched these to us. Hopefully, they will keep us protected from any underground threats."
Kakashi handed the boots to Ayame, who assessed them skeptically. Carefully, she took off her old sandals and replaced her feet with the boots.
"I mean, the rest of our body is exposed, though."
"I know. I already discussed it with them. But on such short notice, we just have to remain diligent in monitoring our surroundings. I know you do not have shinobi training, so don't worry about it. Just remain cognizant."
Ayame nodded, wiggling her feet in the boots. She could only imagine the sores that were to come after walking in these all day.
"Alright then. Ready?" He asked, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Yes," Ayame responded, smiling slightly with excitement.
"Lead the way," he said to her, his single eye squinting in a smile. She looked over at him, stunned that he was trusting her to guide them. But really, why wouldn't he? She smiled back, hitching her backpack up again as she began to walk in the direction of her old village.

The two moved quickly, or at least as quickly as Ayame's feet allowed them to. She was not a shinobi by Konoha's standards, but she did happen to be in good shape. Kakashi, of course, could move much faster than she ever could. Regardless of his pace, he didn't let her fall behind.
Tumblr media
The journey from Rōtasuagekure to Konoha had taken Ayame three days on foot by herself. Their pace today was much quicker, but she still anticipated they would need to stop at some point. Their conversations were light, mostly commentary on the scenery and the journey at hand. Often, he would pull out his book and read as they traveled. Ayame led the way, directing them to the best of her ability to her old village through thick foliage and dry dirt paths.
He asked her once if she wanted to stop to rest for a bit, but she declined, reminding him of their tight schedule. He had shrugged in response, allowing her to continue despite her evergrowing slumped shoulders.
"I think we should stop here for the night," Kakashi finally remarked hours later, assessing an opened space through what little light the day had left. Above them, an opening was naturally formed around a canopy of trees, displaying twilight's constellation of stars.
It was only when she stopped did she realize how exhausted her body was. She had been walking for 13 hours straight, eating little pellet-looking food Kakashi had offered her as they traveled. If it weren't for her sheer determination to save the men and women of Konoha, she would have surely collapsed hours ago.
She sat down on a rock nearby, feeling her feet scream in gratitude. Underneath her boots, she was sure her feet were littered with blisters. The darkness brought cooler temperatures. Ayame wasn't sure if it was her exhaustion or the cold that brought a slight chill to her spine.
"You look exhausted," he pointed out casually, collecting a few twigs nearby for a fire.
"I'm fine," she waved a dismissive hand, taking her backpack off. Her eyelids begged for sleep, and every inch of her body told her it was time to rest. She watched him perch the twigs up in a tent, preparing for a small fire. He put his hand down near the bottom of the pit, and a moment later, a spark of flame came up.
"Should we have a fire right now?" Ayame asked, looking around. "Won't it draw attention?"
"Yes," Kakashi agreed, standing up. "But I have no reason to believe we're in danger here. It's probably going to be cold tonight. Plus, I'll be awake. Someone has to keep watch."
"You're not going to sleep?" she asked him, unrolling and setting her blanket down for the evening near a small boulder. He sat on a rock close by, stoking the fire with a long stick.
Tumblr media
"I'm fine," he responded assuredly, shrugging off his jonin jacket and carefully gathering it up to place on the ground next to him. Ayame stretched her legs out on her blanket and yawned as she rolled her shoulders. She looked over at him, feeling guilty for wanting to sleep while he kept guard.
"Shouldn't you rest, though? I'm sure you're just as tired as I am," Ayame asked. She watched as he pulled off his Konoha headband, his silver hair falling flatly over his forehead.
She couldn't quite place it, but there was something unusually stunning about his presence. The way his disheveled hair rested over his brow after a long day. The look of his body without his bulky green jacket, his shoulders hunched but broader than she initially perceived. She watched as he shifted one leg forward, his limb looking longer and more muscular at this distance. Ayame pushed her hair behind her ear, her eyes peering over his tightly wrapped ankles. She couldn't understand why she studied him so closely, but she felt warmth spread like wildfire throughout her body when she did. The flickering light of the fire and the late hour of the day blended together in her mind to create an exhilarating new feeling.
"I'll be alright," he said, looking up at her from across the fire. The flickering light of the flames danced across his shadowy face. He gave her a small, reassuring smile. She noticed his other eye, the long scar that ran across his lid and cheek, cutting right through his thin gray eyebrow and disappearing under his mask. When he smiled, his eyes creased at the corners. He looked like a different person without his headband and jacket.
"I'm sure I'll doze off for a little bit at some point," he assured her, looking up at the sky above. The light flickered off his Adam's apple.
"Thank you for your patience today," she said, leaning back on her elbows, "I'm sure it was painful for you to walk so slowly. But we should get there early tomorrow."
"It was a nice change of pace," Kakashi slid down his bottom down into the dirt, using the rock he had just used to rest his back. Bending his knee, he flickered his eye back over to her.
"I was thinking," she heard him say, "You said this Tsukamu root had lasting effects on your chakra reserves. Have you trained to attempt to gain some of that lost chakra back?"
Ayame looked over at him, surprised. "I - I have not, really. Or rather, I'm not really sure how. I mean, I know how to exercise and train. But my chakra was always just something that was there and then one day, it wasn't. I had no guidance on how to get it back."
"What happened when you were low on chakra in your old village?"
"We would be sent to do other work, and someone else would come in to take our place of growing the flowers. My cousins and I were cycled through. One day it would be me growing, and the next day it was someone else."
Kakashi nodded, looking at the fire, and a rueful leer appeared beneath his mask, "Sounds like they just used you."
"Yeah," Ayame agreed dismally.
"I'm sorry about your clan, by the way," Kakashi looked over at her somberly. "What you said yesterday, it must have been difficult."
Ayame frowned, looking down at her lap and picking at fingertips. "I just wish I could have saved them."
"I'm sure you couldn't have saved them all and yourself."
"I could have tried."
Kakashi looked over at her, observing her as she nervously fiddled with her fingers. In the orange light of the fire, he could see a layer of coiled frizz haloed around her braid. He found this comforting, although he wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was because of how hard she had worked to get here today, with no formal training as a shinobi to go long distances in short periods. Yet her determination had surprised him.
An owl hooted in the distance, reminding him of the one he heard last night in Tsunade's office.
"You shouldn't blame yourself," he said finally, his eyes locked on her.
"But I could have prevented it if I had paid more attention to what my brother was up to. Why he wasn't around when he should have been. I just figured he had other duties, and we covered for him. I didn't expect him to be ..."
Kakashi nodded his head, understanding. "Regardless, you can't change what happened. You just have to deal with the reality and move on."
Ayame looked up at the fire, the glowing flames licking at the sticks he had placed in a pile. Frowning, she thought of her brother, her own blood, the reason she had no family left. Did she miss them? Of course. But did she yearn for the never-ending labor and mistreatment? No. Certainly not.

"But I don't think your charka situation is a lost cause," Kakashi said, shifting his tone. She watched him kick a small rock with his sandal. "You said you haven't trained, but have you tried other methods?"
Ayame looked over at him,  "I think my case is a bit different, wouldn't you say?"
"But have you tried?" Kakashi countered. His tone was tenacious but lighthearted in nature. She considered just ignoring him, not wanting to rehash her inability to conduct chakra. But when she looked over at him, he raised his eyebrows in anticipation of her response.
"I haven't," she tried to push back a smile that crept up on her quickly. "As I said, I would imagine my circumstance is different."
"I'm assuming no one ever taught you what is actually going on inside your body," Kakashi returned. This felt like banter between two friends, not between two people who had just met less than 24 hours ago and were shipped out together on a time-crunched mission. Or perhaps he was flirting with her. Ayame pursed her lips, not taking the bait.
"I'm not sure what you mean," Ayame yawned, stretching her arms. Didn't want to seem too interested, she thought.
"I mean, I don't have to tell you," He quipped, reflecting back her disinterested tone. He stood up, stretching his arms as well. "I just thought maybe you'd want to know what's really going on."
Ayame's ears perked up, and she looked up at him, his back turned to her as he gathered a few more branches in the brush behind them.
"What do you mean, what's really going on? I would think I know more of what's happening in my body than you do."
"That may be true," he said as he stood with a twig in his hand. "But you were never taught the basics of your chakra network. It's not some central point in your body. It's a system of vessels that channel through you. I saw you earlier when we were walking with my eye, and your chakra network isn't as damaged as you believe it is."
"I'm sorry?" Ayame felt her face flush as she quickly looked over at him. She was grateful for the darkness around them.
As she spoke, he turned to her, his left eye opened. Her brain couldn't quite comprehend what she was looking at—the red glow of it, the spinning iris. His complete gaze assessed her, looking through her like a window.
"With my Sharingan, I can see some of your chakra network. When you were walking in front of me today, I used it to see if your network had been severed where you were previously injured. My assumption was correct, and it wasn't, but it is severely damaged."
"Severely damaged," Ayame repeated, looking down at the fire.
Tumblr media
"Yes," he turned back around and shut his left eye as he gathered more sticks for the fire.
"If your network was severed, you wouldn't be able to use any of your chakra," he said, sitting back down. "But as you showed us last night, you can. You are able to maneuver some chakra through your body with some health repercussions. But that doesn't mean it can't be mended and used. It just may take extra energy to push your chakra through the channel."
"And how do I do that?" Ayame asked skeptically.
Kakashi casually threw a few twigs into the fire. "Today, you used a good amount of energy to get here. More so, I would say, than you do on a regular basis. Although you may feel drained, your body should have generated chakra through your physical movements."
"Is this what you were thinking about all day?" Ayame laughed. "I understand. But how do I push it through? It's not like you can widen an injured vessel."
"That will come from healing and spiritual energy," Kakashi explained, "healing can be done back in Konoha. I'm sure you've never seen someone for this injury, right?"
"No," Ayame replied. "I never thought to."
"I doubt it can be healed completely at this point, but it's worth a try."
"And this spiritual energy?"
"Spiritual energy and physical energy is what chakra is made of. Physical energy manifests from training or exertion. Spiritual energy, however, comes from within," the silver-haired shinobi explained, holding a twig between his hands. She watched as he twirled it around his fingers. "Think of it as mental stamina. You can increase it by experience or meditation. Have you ever meditated?"
Ayame shook her head, feeling inferior for never having learned any of this. There was a whole world out there she had never been exposed to. Even within the confines of her new home, she had never learned any of this.
"I don't do it often, but it is a good method to use when you are just learning to hone your chakra or learning a different chakra nature," Kakashi explained. "I can teach you - if you want. Or maybe you could try it in the morning before we leave. I think it would help."
He looked over at her, waiting for a response. The pensive ambiance of the sparking fire and the evening's cool breeze enveloped their little huddle. Looking over at him, Ayame gently smiled, nodding. His gaze was penetrating; the twinkling of his dark eye in the fire stirred something in her stomach.
"I will," she said finally.
Tumblr media
He smiled softly at her. His eyes locked with hers, and she could see the smile under his mask with the unsteady light of the burning fire. Despite the crisp air of the night, heat washed over her body like a wave against rocks. Time seemed to slow, even for a few seconds. At that moment, it was just the two of them in that forest: no illness, no mission, no timeline. Just his dark eye staring softly into hers. The wrinkle of his eyes when he smiled felt like an electrical shock to her body.
"Thank you," she said quietly. "I appreciate your help."
He watched her lips curl with each word. Something twisted in his lower stomach, and he swallowed. He looked away and chuckling softly, immediately regretting severing their connection. He scolded himself for letting his nerves got the best of him. The feeling that had just washed over him was unlike anything he was familiar with. As a man who was rarely ever shaken, he felt jarred by the experience. He was a calm man, dedicated to his role as a shinobi of the Leaf. Something as potent as that feeling would only distract him, he reminded himself.
"No problem," he responded, scratching the back of his neck uneasily. Ayame looked down, smiling softly to herself. This felt quite childlike, but nevertheless, she found herself savoring it.
"Get some sleep," Kakashi said finally, pulling out a battered orange book from his back pocket. He was clearly flustered, she thought. "We have to leave before dawn, so we don't have long. So get some rest. I'll be right here."
Ayame nodded and laid down on her blanket, her heart still pounding in her chest from such a small interaction.
"Thank you," Ayame said again, turning to face away from him. She hesitated, chewing her bottom lip. "Goodnight, Kakashi."
A pause.
"Goodnight, Ayame."

As hard as you tried, you couldn’t keep your eyes open.
It had been a tiring yet fun day with Dekusquad, all of you deciding to go shopping at the local stores near UA High.
You had had fun with all your friends, acting silly and, for once, like teens. The whole day you had been laughing, your hand permanently glued in Izuku’s as you shopped for new clothing and tried yummy sweets.
During the day, Uraraka has spotted a sign stating there would be a outdoor Movie night out in the large grassy area on the side of the shopping mall. She instantly showed the group the flyer, her big round eyes making it impossible to say No to her pleas to go. You had to admit, though: that it sounded like an adorable way to end the night with a movie under the stars.
Shoto, Izuku, and Iida also agreed, allowing you two to drag them to the lush green space as twilight began to fall.
Izuku’s hand was still in yours the whole way, his thumb rubbing against the side of your palm. You smiled, sneaking a glance at his complexion-he was so handsome, his green locks as unruly as ever from frequently trying on different clothes (something you had to forced him to do), his emerald eyes seeming to glow under the dimming sunlight.
He looked down, your smiling face making his cheeks blush. His freckles became starkly noticeable, a cheesy grin spreading across his face. Izuku honestly loved when you looked like him like that, like he was the only person you had on your mind.
“Everything alright sweetheart?” He asked, “Are you tired?”
You smiled lazily, feeling the dull ache on the palms of your feet. Even though you two had only been dating for a month or so, you and Izuku had known each other ever since the first day of UA. Izuku could read you like a book, and you the same for him-but you still tried to pretend you were fine.
“Nope!” You beamed, mustering some energy out of your body. “Never been better,”
You began to swing his arm in your own in a skip, trying to convince him quietly that you were fine. You knew Izuku too well- if you showed any type of discomfort or tiredness, he would insist on you two going back to the dorms and calling it a night. As much as you would love to snuggle up to Izuku right now and fall in sleep in his comfy embrace, you didn’t feel like ending the night just yet. You had had too much fun with all your friends today, and it just didn’t seem fitting to end it now.
He gave you a worried look, not truly believing your words. “You sure? Because if you feel tired we can always-“
“Nope!” You cut off his words, “I’m fine, I promise,”
He sighed, knowing full well you were too stubborn to reason with.
“Alright...but if you want to leave, just tell me and-“
“There it is!” You two heard Uraraka gasp, her finger pointing at a giant patch of grass a few paces away. A giant white tarp was displayed at the end of the field, people already milling around and finding seats to watch on the red checkered blankets that were laid out.
“In order for us to get a proper viewing, we should hurry-it seems like people are already taking spots,” Iida instructed, your head nodding in agreement.
“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” You smiled. You broke out into a jog down the small hill, the group following suit.
———————
Even though that quick jog had woken you up slightly, the heaviness of fatigue had hit you once again. You all had found a spot to settle in quickly, only to realize that the movie was not starting for another hour.
Since it was her favorite movie they were about to play, Iida had taken Uraraka to buy some concessions to burn off some extra excitement. That left you, Izuku and Shoto to sit idly and wait.
You were too tired to stir up a conversation, instead deciding to just listen in on Shoto and Izuku’s conversation about hero agencies. To be honest, it wasn’t the most intriguing conversation, so you opted to people watch while you waited for the movie.
It was becoming extremely hard to keep your eyes open-you were laying your shoulder against Izuku’s, your hand in his. Your thumb was soothingly tracing the scars on his hand, something you've been doing ever since Izuku had felt comfortable enough to let you hold his hands.
Midoriya was surprisingly very self conscious of his scars-he knew he shouldn’t be, but it felt like it was a constant sign of his weakness. His body still wasn’t able to fully master One-For-All, a reminder he wasn’t quite ready to step into the legendary role All Might had given him.
But to you, you saw the scars as strength: he had come so far from being the scared little boy from his past. He was barely an adult and had been in more deadly situations than he could count on his hands, but No matter what circumstances he was in he was still optimistic and determined as ever, and that’s truly what made you love him so much.
Izuku grinned warmly, cherishing the soft caresses your fingers were leaving on his skin. It took him awhile for him to get used to your constant affection, but now he was accustomed to it and absolutely adored when you touched him like this.
The sun was beginning to set though, the warmth of Izuku’s body against your own making your breaths softer as the darkness lulled your eyes to close. You tried to fight the wave of sleep trying to overtake your body, your hand still laced in his as you decided to close your eyes for just a moment-
“Uh, Midoriya,” Shoto interrupted Izuku’s sentence about the top hero agencies in southern Japan, pointing at your slumped form.
Izuku gave him a quizzical look, wondering what the problem was until he saw what Todoroki was referring to. You had fell asleep on his shoulder, your head nuzzled into the crook of his neck.
His cheecks flared red, Izuku secretly happy no one could see his evident blush under the moonlight. He had assumed your cuddling into his shoulder was you just trying to get warm, not because you were exhausted. He chuckled slightly-you really were the most stubborn person he knew.
Izuku gently shifted his body, his hands guiding your sleeping head into his lap. He tried his hardest to not wake you up-but to his surprise, you stayed completely asleep, only shifting slightly to cuddle up comfortable into his lap.
He would be lying if he didn’t say the sight of you sighing as you snuggled sleepily into his leg wasn’t the cutest thing ever.
His heart swelled as he pushed a piece of fallen hair away from your face, beginning to then pet your head as he continued his conversation with Shoto.
More and more people had filled the park, many of the seats taken by families, friend groups, and couples. The movie was bound to start soon since night had fallen, people beginning to sit into their spots and get comfortable as they awaited for it to start, soft conversation filling the park.
Uraraka came bounding back, 2 bags of popcorn stuffed under each arm as Iida tried to balance soda cups and candy in each hand.
“Y/n, you’ll never guess what we found, they had popcorn that was flavored like-“ Uraraka began excitedly, until her eyes fell upon your sleeping form. Her eyes softened, a smile forming on her lips.
“Fell asleep, huh?” She asked Midoriya, putting down the popcorn to help Iida with the concessions.
“Yep! She was acting pretty tired when we were walking over here…” Izuku smiled down at your sleeping form, continuing to pet your head to keep you asleep.
“Would you like to take her back to the dorms? I’m more than willing to give you both a ride back,” Iida offered, but Izuku kindly dismissed it.
“Oh thank you Iida! But, I think it’s best we stay-I have a feeling she wouldn’t be too happy if I missed the movie because of her.” He grinned, already knowing that was exactly you’d say if he did actually take you home.
“Very well then-just tell me if you change your mind,” Iida nodded, turning to Uraraka as she politely shushed them as the movie began to start.
————————
Halfway during the movie, your head rolled up, your eyes heavily lidded and your hair slightly disheveled.
“Y/n!” Izuku gasped quickly, bringing his calloused palm to your cheek.
“Go back to sleep sweetie, it’s okay, you’re tired-“
“Wait-did I fall asleep?”
Izuku grinned, rubbing his neck as a blush began to form again. “Yes, you fell asleep by accident on my shoulder, so I put your head in my lap-“
You smiled, the sweet gestures of your boyfriend making your heart swell.
You then tried to look to the side to see the screen, hoping to maybe stay awake if you got invested in the movie. Just as you tried to look, a sharp pain blossomed on the side of your neck, a grunt of pain slipping out of your lips.
“You okay?” Izuku whispered, his eyes wide with concern.
You sighed, groggily rubbing the place where it hurt. “Yeah, just-kink in my neck I guess…”
“Oh…” Izuku breathed out, his hands on his chin as he tried to think of a quick solution.
“Do you want to lie down instead?” He asked quietly, his voice low and sweet.
You nodded your head quickly, wanting nothing more than to cuddle with Izuku. You still didn’t want to go back home-the night was just too peaceful, the midnight sky clear as a comfortable breeze softy blew.
You wrapped your hands around Midoriya's neck instantly, feeling a chuckle rumble in his chest. One arm wrapped around your waist as the other gently guided your bodies to the ground.
You laid there for a second, listening to his strong heart beat as his chest fell rhythmically. He was so safe and so warm-
“I love you ‘Zuku.” You whispered sleepily, cuddling into his warmth as sleep began to wash over you.
Izuku blushed harder than he had before, his hand petting your head as his chest swelled.
“I-I love you too y/n.”

Divergence
n. A point of separation; where routes split and go in a different direction.
She knows they can’t stay together.
She’s sure he knows it too, though he won’t be the one to say it. He doesn’t say much of anything, anymore. The weeks that have passed since they left Berelith have been filled with strained silence, heavy and cold and, as much as she hates it, she understands. He’s still grieving. They both are. She wonders if they’ll ever really stop.
She wonders about a lot of things, now. She tries not to - it won’t do her any good - but the reality of it all seeps in anyways. The Force is quiet too, frayed and dark and bloodstained at the edges. She’s afraid to reach for it; afraid of the raw emptiness that she knows is waiting in the places her friends and fellow Jedi used to be. She wonders how they died; if they were afraid, and in pain, or if it was quick. Had they been shown mercy? Had they even had a moment to realize what was happening?
She thinks, sometimes, on the nights without dreams, that she can still feel some of them. She never knows who. Maybe it’s someone familiar, like Master Kenobi or Master Plo. Maybe it’s a Jedi she’s never met, searching the Force for survivors, for some reassurance that they’re not alone. Some nights, she almost reaches back.
But then she remembers. They are alone. The Order is gone. Their home, the Temple, is gone. And Anakin - the bright warmth at the other end of their bond - is gone. For all she knows, they’re just echoes, and she can’t afford to lose herself in chasing them.
The Jedi are all but extinct. And the galaxy is a much scarier place without them.
They’ve only stopped a few times. First, to go to ground. A Y-Wing would attract too much attention, and there was already chatter about the new Empire’s plans to phase out the older ship models. So, she had risked everything, one more time, and had gone back to Trace and Rafa Martez. The gamble had paid off. The sisters had given them a place to stay, and it had been them - not her and Rex - to sell the Y-Wing for scrap. A few days later, and they had a new ship; shaky, but serviceable. She’d almost gotten Rex to smile when she’d suggested they name it the “Twilight”.
Trace had asked her if it was true; if the Jedi really had betrayed the Republic. She hadn’t had an answer - not one she was confident in, anyways - but she’d given one. Even if they had, even if she truly believed that the Council would have ever gone that far and done the things Sidious claimed, they hadn’t deserved to be slaughtered. Not so dispassionately, not so indiscriminately, and not by the Clones - the men - they had stood and fought beside for so long. Men they’d trusted. Men who hadn’t been given a choice.
She had been glad to leave Coruscant behind.
She wonders about them, too. The rest of the 501st, and the 212th, and the 104th. She can’t bear to do it for long, otherwise she finds herself back there: on Berelith, standing before row upon row of graves filled with the bodies of good men. She wonders if anyone else would have bothered to bury them. She wonders how many they left, corpses twisted and trapped in the wreckage where nothing and no one will ever reach. And sometimes, she wonders if she had had any right to leave her lightsaber there amongst them: men she had not wanted to hurt, but who had died anyways. She likes to think, maybe, they would have allowed her that privilege; to lay herself, and everything she had been, to rest alongside the fellow soldiers who had given her so much.
Ahsoka Tano is, for all intents and purposes, dead. So is Commander Rex. Two more names added to a list: the ten thousand that died, and the six million that died with them.
Which is part of what makes this so hard.
She doesn’t want to leave; to lose what little stability they have left in the turbulence of a changing galaxy. She fought to keep him by her side. He fought to do the very same in return. But if they stay together, that’s what it will be forever: a fight. They’re both soldiers, but he deserves better than that. His war is over. Hers will never be.
The night they reach Adarlon, she decides it’s time. The Minos Cluster is as good a place to disappear as any in the Outer Rim. Without her lightsabers, without her gear, no one will pay her any mind. Looking out over the bustling market from the wall of the spaceport, she imagines herself as one of them, just a face in the crowd, and almost convinces herself it could be her new normal.
Footsteps hit the durasteel ladder. She closes her eyes. It will hurt, for both of them, but it is the right thing to do. The certainty gives her courage.
“Supplies are onboard. Ready to get going?”
Ahsoka takes a breath. Lets it out slowly.
“I’m not coming with you, Rex,” she says. He sighs, so heavily it sounds painful, and sits next to her. She thinks for a moment he might try to dissuade her, but all he does is put a hand on her shoulder. The grounding gesture and the warmth - the acceptance - that radiates from it is somehow worse.
“I know,” he says, and squeezes lightly before drawing away. They’re both silent, but this time, it’s like it used to be. The kind of silence they had learned to read where words didn’t cut it.
“What are you going to do?” He asks, finally.
She shakes her head. “I don’t know. Not yet. But I think...” She stops and considers how to put it. “I think it would be best to get lost, for a while.”
“You tried that before.”
Ahsoka stiffens at his dry tone, but when she glances at him, the anger she expects isn’t there. He’s smirking. She relaxes on a huff of laughter. The snark is new from him, but welcome.
“Yeah,” she says. “I’m not very good at it.” Another gentle quiet, where the sounds of the city and the crowds below wash over them both. She raps her knuckles on the duracrete and grimaces. “I wish I was.”
“I don’t.” He doesn’t elaborate. He doesn’t need to. Ahsoka smiles; small, and tired, but real. It fades quickly.
“I’ll get you in too much trouble if I stick around. They’ll be looking for those that are left.”
“You could let me help.”
It’s not quite an accusation, but she hears one anyways, and just barely fights back a wince. It is his choice. She would never dream of taking that away from him; especially not now, after everything. But she has to make him understand that she’s making hers. So, she straightens a little and nods and finally faces him. Her voice is deceptively even.
“I know. I could also end up getting you killed.” It’s true, and she knows he knows it. He frowns, but she continues before he can protest, tone dipping with the weight of the weeks they’ve spent running and the years of it she knows will be ahead. “I need to know someone’s made it out of this, Rex. That someone lived.”
“So do I.”
“And I did,” she says. It’s not a lie, but it’s also not entirely the truth either, so she amends it a heartbeat later. “I will.”
He looks away. She watches him struggle; turn his own thoughts over and over in his mind, a private war raging behind eyes that have seen far too much yet so little. There are places she wants to tell him to go, things she’s read about in books at the Temple. The galaxy, even under the Empire, has things to offer him, but she’s not sure he wants them to begin with.
As if reading her mind, he shakes his head. “I was bred for war, Ahsoka,” he says, so softly it’s almost lost to the din of the spaceport. “Without it... I don’t know what I am.”
“Then go find out.” She can’t keep the sharpness out of her tone, but it’s one that borders on a plea. Rex sighs again, trembling somewhere just shy of a sob. She finally gives in and reaches out, fingers brushing the stubble lining his jaw.
“Live a life you choose to, Rex. If not for me, then for all of the people who can’t anymore.”
It’s maybe not a fair request, and it sits aching in her chest even as she says it. She’s not trying to be fair, though, because she knows he’d stay, if she asked him to. Watch her back, like he always has. He’d follow her anywhere. He’s also the only bright spot she can see in all the encroaching darkness and, even if by this she dims it, she cannot - she will not - be the reason that light dies.
He meets her gaze. “But not one that keeps me with you.”
It’s not a question. “No,” she replies. “I’m sorry.”
He falls silent. A breeze caresses her face. For one desperate moment, Ahsoka hesitates, and nearly changes her mind. Then, Rex nods, and reaches for the bag slung over his shoulder. He takes her hand and stands, pulling her with him, and then presses something into her palm. She blinks at the device glinting up at her for a long minute before realizing what it is.
“Keep it on you,” he says, gesturing to the comlink. For a second, she recognizes him - the Captain of the 501st, unwavering in his determination - and how much she’ll miss him threatens to overwhelm her. “If you ever need anything... I’ll find you.”
There’s a promise in those words, and Ahsoka smiles again. “I’ll hold you to that.”
She steps forward, movements sure, and wraps her arms around him. She feels him tense, but the next moment, the embrace is returned, strong and warm and safe, and she revels in it one last time.
“We’ll see each other again,” she whispers. “Believe that.” His hold tightens. He says nothing; makes no sound as damp seeps into the fabric at her shoulder. Her own eyes grow watery, and she swallows past the lump in her throat.
She can’t call herself a Jedi anymore, but it takes the will of one to finally, slowly, let go.
She steps away, a hand sliding to his shoulder, then back to her side. “Good luck.”
He smiles, and her heart clenches. It doesn’t ease as they climb back down to the platform, nor as she watches him walk up the ramp into the ship. She takes one more look at him, then turns and heads for the doors that will lead her into the market.
“Ahsoka.”
She stops, and looks back. His hand is raised in farewell. “May the Force be with you.”
She waits and watches until the ship has lifted off, and the crackle of the engine has faded, and she can just barely track the glittering speck careening off to join the stars. The words tumble from her lips softly, carried off into the night with the last reminder of a life she had once called home.
“May the Force be with you.”

Could you write something for Twili! Reader, possibly Twis lost daughter? Keep up the cool work!
Masterlist
Dad! Twilight! I've been asked to write Dad! Twilight!?
I think I can make it work. Thank you so much for the request.
Out of habit at this point, I’ve made the reader gender neutral but it doesn’t really matter.
Content under the cut!
It wasn't every day that a portal opens up in the Twilight Realm.
Even less so that you're alone enough to check it out without anyone knowing that you were by that sort of magic.
Your mother wouldn't appreciate it and would at least send ten people to keep you from going further and anther fifteen to try and stifle the unfamiliar magic.
But what she doesn't know won't hurt her.
You feel a little excited and bubbly at your very core. This is your chance! Your chance to see what's beyond! Your mom didn't talk much about your father but you knew that he was from beyond the Twilight realm and a brave adventurer.
Maybe it will take you to him?
Maybe you can go on your own adventure?
Follow in his footsteps.
Your mother did always say that you reminded her of him.
You've decided.
With determined and unquestionable confidence you walk through the portal onto the other side without once looking back.
It was colder than you were used to and there was a lot you couldn't really see in front of you. At some point it was pitch black and strangely warmer than before until it lessened again and you traveled to the other side.
For starters, it was brighter than anything the Twilight Realm had to offer. And startlingly green.
Immediately, you hear voices come from the side.
"I told you, the portal opened up over here! It's not that much farther, we can go to where we need to go."
You stunned where you stand and gulp slightly.
The portal closes quickly behind you, taking away your chances of changing your mind and heading back the way you came.
You’re quick to shift your weight onto your toes and try to make your way away from the upcoming company.
You don’t get far.
“Hold it!” Someone shouts. “Who are you? State your name and purpose!”
You wince and curl into yourself, no longer feeling as confident as you did when you first found the portal. You’re mother is going to have your head when she finds out about this. And if the people around you take your head instead, you fear what your mother will do once she finds out. She still mourns losing your father. You can’t bare the thought of her losing you.
“Hold on guys!” Someone else says. “I know their kind. You’re from the Twilight Realm, right? What your name? Wild, put your weapon. Down.”
You state your name and slowly look upwards and toward the one who was speaking to you. You both stare at each other for a moment. You notice that he’s Hylian with a fur pelt around his shoulders and tattoos on his face that seem familiar to you. He’s looking at you with what could only be described as shocked, horror.
You tilt your head and begin to calm yourself down.
There’s nine hylians around you, each armed to the teeth and all of them seem to be of varying ages. They all seem to be staring between you and their friend. Some going as far to hesitantly put their weapons away when you don’t show any hostility.
“...Midna...” The pelted man speaks up. His voice is so quiet that you have to strain yourself to hear him. “Do you happen to know anyone named Midna?”
You pause and frown slightly. “How do you know my mother?”
He chokes on his own spit. “Mother?”
You stand up taller and look down on the man with suspicion. “How do you know my mother?”
“We’re... We were..” He stutters and continues to openly gape at you.
“Lovers.” Someone else speaks up. You look at him, almost insulted at the prospect. He a bit shorter than the pelted man but holds himself in high regard by the way he looks at you head on. He wears a long and fanciful blue scarf with large golden embroidery of what has to be the country’s emblem.
“Excuse me?” You narrow your eyebrows.
“Who’s your father?” He raises an eyebrow in challenge.
This time you preen with pride and place your hands on your hips. “My father is named Link. Savior of the Twilight Realm.”
“Very interesting.” He smirks slightly, entertained by an idea that only he seems to understand. The group takes a step back away from you in unison and the pelted man looks paler than he did two seconds ago. It’s starting to worry you.
“Why do you ask?” You match his tone and try to at least make it seem like you know what you’re doing.
“I’ve also met your mother, if what you’re telling us is the truth. You look like her, sure- but you have his eyes. She talked a lot about Link and how much he meant to her. You look a bit like him too. You have his nose if you look close enough.” He shrugs.
“She was pregnant?” The pelted man falls on his knees. His eyes never leave your form as he does so.
Something clicks.
“By the stars...” You gulp and take a better look at him. What his companion said was starting to make things a little more clear to you.
Yes, you see it now.
You have his nose, his eyes- and his lack of self preservation considering the circumstances and the portal that brought you here. He knew your mother- intimately by the sound of it. He’s armed to the teeth like all the others and your mother did say he was an adventurer and a hero. This other man who you’ve never heard of claims to know your mother and father and all of the stories point to this man in front of you.
“You...” You trail off and blinked intelligently at him.
“But it’s only been five years...” He gulps and falls backwards, only barely catching himself with his hands.
“Does this make me an uncle?” Another one from the group speaks up. You snap your head to him. He has deep and long scars across his face and long hair that’s draped across his shoulder.
“You’re my uncle?” You blurt.
“I don’t think the timeline actually cares about how long it’s been for you.” Someone with pink hair speaks up and pats the pelted man’s shoulder in sympathy.
“But this means that I wasn’t.... I was never there... I don’t ever see her again, do I?” He looks like he’s going to cry as he falls to his knees and you’re a little self-conscious about where the conversation is going.
“By Hylia, I’m a grandfather for sure now.” The oldest of them speaks with a delayed revelation. You side eyes him to see his armor and the scar over his eye and bit your lip.
“Wait, wait, wait, you’re Twilight’s father!?” The smallest yells out. He has the most colorful clothing choice.
“I’m his descendent.” This ‘Twilight’ speaks aloud. He takes a deep breath and puts his face in his hands. “And now...”
“Congrats! You’re a dad!” The brunette of the group cheers quietly, trying to clear the tension but it doesn’t do much.
Your father looks up at you, tears in his eyes but he makes eye contact. “How is she? Your mother? Is she well?”
“She’s queen of the Twilight Realm. So I’d say she’s doing pretty well all things considered...” You reply and begin to rock on the ball of your feet out of awkwardness. “She misses you...”
He sniffles and chokes on a laugh. “I miss her too...”
You hum and look off the to the side. “Never really knew my father.”
“I can imagine.”
“I’d like to.”
Twilight takes a deep breath and stands up, holding his hand out for you to take. “You know what, I’d like to get to know you too.”
You smile and take it. He’s crying and you feel like crying to but you’re actually happy with how things have turned out.
You suddenly hear a voice break through the silence, calling your name with a screech. You tense and take a step back. “Uh oh...”
“Uh oh? What’s uh oh? What’s going on?”
Scarf man speaks up again. “Are we going to talk about Twilight being Time’s descendent? Or how Twilight’s child is from another realm? Or that he has a child at all?”
“No.”
“Nope.”
“Not now anyway.”
You curse as Twili guards burst through the tree line into your direction.
“What did you do?”
“Nothing bad but...uh... My mother is going to kill me.”

Comet’s Melody (Kingdom Hearts/Ducktales)
Idea popped up in my head, needed to write it down.
Roxas sighed as he tasted the ice cream, the salty flavor failing to uplift his feelings.
He was preparing for a new mission for Organization XIII, this time to Agrabah to plant some sort of device. However, he managed to get some time to himself by claiming that he was coming to Twilight Town to “train”.
In reality, he was contemplating on whether or not he should leave the organization.
The idea seemed far-fetched at first: they were the closest he had to a family, especially with his friends Axel and Xion. However, the lack of information being told, combined with the unclear motives behind Xion, was beginning to get to him.
Was there a point working for the organization anymore? It feels more like a prison than a place he could live in now…
Roxas sighed, feeling ‘discontent’ about not telling Axel or Xion about his “training”, but this was something he needed to think about for himself.
As he sat at the clock tower, contemplating his choices, he noticed a shooting star in the distance.
Huh, he thought to himself. Didn’t think stars would fall in the daytime… I think somebody once said that you could make wishes on them… If so, then I wish for a sign on what to do, something to show why I’m here, why I’m so special to the Organization...
He closed his eyes and prayed, and he opened them to find the star slowly heading to the forest. Eyes wide he quickly stands up and watches as the star lands near the old manor on the outskirts of Twilight Town…
...The same place that he had woken up before, at least he had the feeling that was where the Organization had found him.
“What the heck…?”
Questions surged through his mind as he tried to figure out what had just happened. WIth nothing better to do, he decided to go investigate the ‘star’.
At least he’ll be able to take his mind off the Organization for a while…
Getting there was easy, as having to run around all across various places helped with improving his stamina. Passing by various flyers and posters, he managed to reach the entrance of the woods and quickly entered it.
As he moved throughout the forest, there was the occasional Heartless grazing around, but he was able to quickly take care of any that attacked him with his Oathkeeper.
After a while, he finally managed to reach the old manor, gasping out of breath.
As he was catching his breath, the ‘star’ landed at the front of the gates of the wall, a bright glow quickly filling the area. Roxas quickly closed his eyes, averting himself from blindness, before opening as the light faded.
His eyes widened as he saw, laying down in front of the manor, was some sort of white-feathered avian humanoid.
The figure wore some sort of brown aviator’s clothing, with a brown pilot’s helmet and faded  blue scarf, alongside some beige shorts.
While aware of how ‘out there’ people’s appearances can be due to how different each world is, he couldn’t really recall encountering any bird-like people before. Wait…
As he attempted to remember if he had seen such individuals before, the duck person groaned, reminding Roxas that despite the lack of impact, somebody had just crashed onto the ground.
“Are you alright?” he asks as he quickly makes his way to person, helping her stand by.
As he did, however, he made eye contact with her, bright blue to cyan. What stared back at him was emptiness, an all too familiar emptiness, one that he needed to determine quickly.
“Uh, do you remember anything?”
The duck blinked, and as she dusted herself off slowly, crinkles spread across her forehead as she slowly blinked.
“I… don’t...” she said dully.
A Nobody. The duck was a new Nobody.
What else could explain the emptiness of her eyes, something that he often saw faintly in the other Organization members, a sign of their own literal emptiness.
Suddenly he was glad that he had chosen to be alone. He had no idea how Axel would have acted, regardless of his feelings on the matter, and he certainly didn’t trust any other Organization member to have been more gentle with the woman.
...Except for Xion.
“Uh, do you remember your name?” Roxas asked.
“My name…?” she said softly, rubbing her fingers across her shorts. “...It’s Della...I think...”
Della, right. He had no idea how to do this actually. Was he supposed to give her a new name, considering she was a Nobody? It was essentially how the Organization leader named him, and he certainly didn’t like how much his name was connected to Sora.
...On the other hand, he didn’t really know how you go about naming Nobodies. Naming yourself with an X seemed to be how Nobodies were expected to be named. Besides, he could at the very least have the petty claim of giving Nobody a name, like the Organization’s leader. Take that!
“Well, do you mind a new name?” Roxas asked, getting flustered when Della turned towards him in confusion. “N-Not that your old name is bad, but you’re a, uh, Nobody, and Nobodies who retained their selves tend to have names with Xs in them.”
Yeah, this was probably a bad idea.
Still, he was pleasantly surprised when she nodded, though that could also be a result of her still being dazed. Axel had claimed that he was like a zombie when he had first joined the Organization, so it was likely that she was in a similar state as well.
“Right, so I was thinking… Uh...”
He tapped his head as he attempted to figure out a cool name to give her, before finally having an eureka after sounding out the syllables in his head of one combination of letters.
“Oh, how about Xellda? Will that work for you?”
Yeah, it wasn’t all that original, but it sounded cool!
“...It sounds cool.” Xellda said, smiling at the name.
“Right!”
With that out of the way, Roxas knew that he had to confront the Emblem Heartless in the room: the fact that she was a Nobody who was aware of herself.
If the Organization ever found out about her, he was certain that they would kill her on the spot. They were obsessed with keeping to 13 members, and with how little they seem to view of Xion, it was possible that they might execute her too.
It was only speculation, of course, but the fact that the empty seats remained empty seemed to be proof of this in his eyes anyway.
“Okay, so─?” As Roxas was about to talk, he quickly stumbled over his words as he realized that he had no idea just how conscious Xellda was at the moment.
If she was a zombie like he was when he first appeared, then it was likely that she may stare at a wall for hours or something if not left with something to do! And staring at walls would do no good if the Organization ever found out about her.
“Hey, would you like to hear a joke?”
Xellda blinked, some uncertainty creeping in. “Uh… sure.”
It was probably pretty foolish, but he couldn’t really think of any other way to get her to express her feelings realistically.
“Okay, so uh, what is the favorite letter of the ocean? It’s B!─ wait no, that’s for flowers and pollen, I meant C!” Roxas quickly stammered out as he messed up a joke he had heard from the locals of Twilight Town. “I C─!, No, just C!”
As he messed up the quite easy joke, the corners of the duck’s bill slowly turned up, a feeling of Deja vu arising in her, slowly leaking out as a small chuckle. Soon the chuckle turned into small laughter at the ridiculousness of the event, stunning Roxas a bit. Soon, however, he also began laughing at the quite hilarious event.
It reminded him a lot of what things were like before everything that had happened, and it was nice to not have to worry about his and Xion’s existence so much.
Once the laughter died down, Xellda’s face settled in a more neutral and confused expression as Roxas finally settled on a plan.
“Okay, so I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Roxas, a Nobody like you.”
“A Nobody...?”
“People who have a strong enough will to survive their heart being lost. That’s the general explanation, anyway. I’m a part of an organization known as Organization XIII, which mainly consists of high-ranking Nobodies. They wear cloaks like these,” he says as he pulls at the fabric of his robes, “which helps to protect them from the darkness. I’m not sure what will happen if they find out about you, and I don’t want to know. So I need you to trust me, okay?”
“Trust you…?”
“Yeah, you probably don’t want to, considering I’m a stranger and all.” Roxas sighed as he thought back to Axel. “...Even if you don’t, I’ll still do my best to help you. Right now, you actually remind me of myself actually.”
“...Okay.”
Roxas blinked. “Wait, you’re saying you’ll trust me then?”
When the duck nodded, Roxas sighed, wondering why getting Axel to explain himself couldn’t be this easy. “Okay, the plan is simple. I have no choice but to go back to the Organization, so while I’m gone, you should hide out in Twilight Town outside of the woods. There’s a path you can take there.”
As he says this, he points towards the forest outside the manor. “I’ll be gone for a few days, so I’m thinking that after a week, we should meet up at the top of the clocktower of Twilight Town. Before then, you should try and blend into town, maybe help out the people there.”
He paused, recalling a certain flyer he had passed earlier. “If you come to the tower and I’m not there, then you’ll need a permanent place to stay at. There’s an open inn inside the town, so if you need a place to stay, you should stay there… Is this plan alright with you?”
Xellda nodded, clearly satisfied.
“Good! I, uh, need to go back now, but I can help take you to-”
“No thanks.”
“Huh?” Roxas exclaimed.
“No thanks. I don’t know… why, but I want to try and get to this town myself.”
“Oh… okay then! If you’re sure, then I guess I’ll be going then. See ya!” Roxas began to run off in the distance, taking the time to wave back as he entered the forest.
A minute after Roxas had run off into the forest, Xellda made her way forward, compelled by some feeling inside of her that she had difficulty understanding.
She didn’t know what was going on, only what the boy Roxas had told her, and the faint memory that lay in her head.
The feeling of needing to return home because of something important… Why? Why did she need to return home so desperately?
If possible, she needed to figure out who she was, who ‘Della’ was, or else this feeling becomes suffocating?
Still, why did it feel so lifeless? Why does her heart feel so…
...
...Empty…?

Theme Park HC
You want fluff I’ll give you fluff!!!!! Let’s make it Gothkasa and Wannabe Eren from the High School AU. Eren invites Mikasa to a theme park, oh let’s make it Tokyo Disney! Or any Disney theme park in the world.
Mikasa likes Disney. She’s not overly crazy over Disney but she likes the way they are so creative with the rides and themes. And yeah she’s seen every disney movie.  (she wanted to watch twilight with him, remember? lol)
Eren is anti-Disney. He hates it and thinks they are taking over too much and ruining a lot of great franchises, but he knows Mikasa’s been dying to go to a theme park, so why not. If it’s with her, he doesn’t care where he goes.
The entire time, Eren has this super bored look. He doesn’t react when Mickey Mouse approaches him or the way some adults dress as their favorite character. He finds it cringey!
But then he sees something he never thought he’d see. Mikasa’s innocent eyes perk up when she sees her favorite Disney character nearby.
Erens like “what’s wrong?” And Mikasa won’t say anything. She'll just keep staring at the character and Eren realizes that she wants a picture.
He grabs her hand and he runs after said Disney character. He’s waving and yelling, “We want a picture! Stop walking!”
Mikasa is just getting pulled along all rosy cheeked and she’s staring at his determination with full on heart eyes. Her stomach is full of butterflies and she’s just thinking how he’s her Dark Knight!
Eren grabs the person in costume by the shoulder and the person is lowkey scared of Eren, but then Eren points at Mikasa, “She wants a picture.”
Eren gets her phone and takes out his own phone too, and he’s pointing both phones at her and the disney character. His phone camera only zooms in on her btw.
Mikasa smiles and he finds himself smiling too as he takes the picture.
The disney character is about to leave but Eren stops them one last time, “Can you take a picture of us?”
He awkwardly stands next to her and the disney character’s all like “Aren’t you going to put your arms around her?”
Mikasa freezes as she feels his arm wrap around her and she wants to lean in so badly, but she’s sooooo shy, so she just stands there with the biggest smile on her face.
Eren sees that all these people have mouse ears headbands and he goes to the ‘bathroom’ but he returns with two matching mouse ear headbands.
“Here” he says as he holds the headband in the air and Mikasa is still, as he gently slides it on her head.
“How do they look?” she asks.
Eren’s just watching her all lovey dovey, before absentmindedly saying, “Cute.” (Mikasa not the ears)
Mikasa then grabs his headband and puts them on him. Eren’s head is fuzzy with the way she’s peering into his forehead as she can’t decide whether to push his hair back with the headband, or leave a little fringe.
“Take your time,” he says, meaning every word, as he’s currently in cloud nine with her touching his hair and brushing her fingertips on his forehead.
They go on all the rides, but their favorite is Pirates of the Caribbean and It’s A Small World, because it’s slow and they can sit next to each other while the lights are low and hey, maybe they sneak in a little hand holding!
Mikasa watches the fireworks like a little girl, taking in all the colors and shapes, while Eren is just staring at her.
Mikasa catches him staring, and Eren turns away, but then Mikasa plants a soft kiss on his cheek and whispers, “Thank you.”
He could feels her eyelashes against his temple as she closes her eyes.
Eren’s smiles, but there’s no denying the tinge of red on his cheeks as he says, “Yeah.”
At the end, they sit on a bench waiting for Eren’s parents to pick them up, and Mikasa’s showing him all the pictures she took and asks Eren if he took any and he says no.
But when he gets home he’s on his bed and he scrolls through his camera roll and it’s filled with pictures of her, just her. And he smiles to himself as he continues to scroll.

She asked him to take her to it, her headstone. The one they made for her when she (Or rather 'Connie Maheswaran') supposedly died. She didn't exactly know why she wanted to see it; maybe it would jog some memories of who she was before becoming ' Sara's grand jewel' ...Before becoming 'Sheva.' Even the thought of those times enrages her to no end; how Connie was used as a tool of murder, espionage, seduction, and entrapment.
"Connie, you ok?"
Steven's voice, sweet, protective, and lovingly caring, as was his grip on her shoulder. The way her name ( Connie's name) came out of his voice sent waves of affection throughout her nervous system. Even after a month of traveling together, she still wasn't used to the new [old] moniker, nor did she feel she deserved it, but she wasn't going to stop Steven from calling her that.
"Connie?"
"Y-Yeah!" It came out brokenly harsh, more than initially intended.
"Sorry, Connie."
The guilt in his voice, slight as it was, hurt her heart immensely.
"No-nonono! You're ok! I promise, and I'm stupid, pleasekeepholdingmyshoulders !"
She covered her mouth and turned around before she became more of a babbling mess, something that has been becoming more common.
Ever since that dream...Hell, ever since they reunited (met), told her his name, and ripped that collar off of her; that spark of need, of craving...Of humanity seem to grow brighter gradually with every smile, touch, or kind deed her hero sent her way and how scared it made her to lose him. The adoration he sent her way, how it warmed her heart to the point of feeling burned.
How she would excuse herself before breaking into full-on bawling on more than one occasion. Steven was wasting it on her; she couldn't even understand natural human affection anymore.
She was so broken.
Connie breathed out before turning to him. "I'm...sorry that was weird of me...I'm strange...And umm... Nervous."
"I would believe so," He gave her a ginger smirk, holding his hand out to her," We're about to visit your memorial. "
"Connie's memorial." She snided before she could stop herself. "Ah..I-"
"One and the same." Steven interrupted, kissing her hand softly before massaging it with his thumb as he interlaced his hands with hers, giving her a small but loving smile. "Come on. You don't want anyone to find us, right?" He whispered, wiping her cheek of a runaway tear.
She could only nod and offer him a silent smile. He was right; she didn't want any of the residents of his (and hers as well, she figured) hometown to know they were here(her nervousness, caused by him).
It was twilight when they traveled to the cliff overlooking Beach City and Little Homeworld (spending most of their day at an abandoned lighthouse), remaining unnoticed by the populace (their attention on something called ' Beach-a-palooza'). What greeted them was not a simple headstone.
In her sights was a statue of who she was...Of ' Connie Maheswaran.' Made of marble, Ice and layered by some illuminated solid of cobalt stood a picture-perfect image of herself(?)Brandishing a naked blade on her shoulder with a star hilt, silky hair flowing down to her upper-back with some resting on her shoulders and an attractive bang, dressed in a crop letterman jacket with a star on the breast over a sporty halter top, low-rise Bermuda shorts, a pair of thigh-high stockings some loosely laced boots but obviously secured.
'Well...At least, they didn't take my fashion sense.' She mused, taking a look at her current outfit, a mimic of the statues (ironic or inherited, she didn't know). Looking back up, she focused on the differences.
'Connie's' hair was loose, free, and weightless, while hers was in a tightly braided and heavy reaching her waist.
'Connie's eyes were determined, fiery, full of life and light. In contrast, her eyes were duller, colder, and steeled by guilt (though being with Steven has brightened them up a bit.)
The most contrasting thing would have to be the smile.
Looking at her past self, at 'Connie's' bright and confident grin that displayed her teeth and radiated
Looking at her past self, at 'Connie's' bright and confident grin that displayed her teeth and radiated victory and promise, made her feel small. Seeing that kind of smile on that face, on their face, was so foreign and daunting to her. Someone who hasn't truly smiled or laughed until a month ago, which was due to killing her tormentor (who she still has sob evoking nightmares about). Even still, her smiles were weakly small, few, and full of painful appreciation.
Connie's' laughing, even more so.
"She's beautiful," Connie spoke in reverence to the memorial as she walked into the small garden on Bluebells, Hibiscus, and Orchids with various pictures of her past life that surrounded the statue. Photos of trips with human and gem friends, graduations, various other accomplishments...Moments of bliss with Steven(some with a pink lion).
"She had her whole future ahead of her."
"You can still have a bright future." Steven's voice from behind her.
"Heh." She scoffed, "You're sweet." She turned her eyes to the description under the statue.
- Connie Maheswaran
Student, Friend, Daughter, Sister,
Cherished Crystal Gem & Adored Jambud.
Our valorous knight, who outshines diamonds and stars alike.-
"It's hard to believe that I was her."
" Are ...You are her."
Connie shook her head, "we aren't the same."
"Connie?"
"I don't have that smile."
"You do."
"I'm not that strong."
"You are."
"I can't be as warm as her."
"You can."
"NO, I CAN'T !" Connie yelled, holding herself tightly, "I'm tainted, Steven...Broken. '' she rolled up the back of her top, exposing the numerous shards integrated into her brown back.
"A pile of shards upon flesh from years of experimentation and 'education ,' made into a masterpiece of murder, of violence, of spying, of abduction, of sex." She spat in disgust, nostrils flaring in anger. " How dare you?"
"Connie?" Steven took a step towards the angered ex-weapon.
"How dare you say that about her?" She hiked her breath as a sob came out." How dare you insult her by saying we're the same!? "
"Connie!" Steven turned her to face him. " Rather you want to admit it or not; it doesn't change the fact... You are her!" He said sternly.
"No..." she shook her head. "I can't believe that I can't."
"Connie?"
"She wouldn't do the things I've done."
"You can't blame yourself...You..." He tightened his hold on her shoulders, "they violated you, abused you...You are a victim in this."
"Exactly..."
Steven looked as she stepped out of his hold and pointed to the statue. Her fist clenched and face down. "She's not a victim..."
"Connie..."
"She would never have been a victim. Captured and made into a weapon...a tool." She started to laugh, a shallow sob still in her throat. "This is stupid...I came looking for ways to jog my memory and now, that face to face with it. I wanna reject it."
Steven kept silent as he pulled her in his torso, his arms around Connie's back and nape, keeping her close as she soaked his shirt.
"I'm jealous..."
Steven gazed at the top of her head as she gripped his shirt.
"I'm jealous..." Connie admitted through closed eyes, gritting teeth, trembling lips, and running tears. "I'm jealous at how determined I was. How accomplished I was. How large and bright my smile was..." she looked up at him. " How easy it was to reciprocate your love." It took all her will not to run when he wiped her eyes of tears." She did it so easy, right?"
"You..." He corrected, "You did..."
"Of course.. bet she didn't run from your affection. Lock herself away to cry...Cause she didn't know how to deal with honest adoration...It wasted on me, Steven." She gave him a broken smile, "even now I wanna run away, cause I can't fathom your warmth...I don't deserve you...but I'm afraid that I'll lose you."
"Silly Strawberry." Steven breathed, cupping her cheeks and resting his forehead on hers. "I searched for too long for you and gone through too much to just leave...My heart is yours, Connie."
Connie's fist started trembling as her face glowed in maroon, her heart pounding, and her black eyes seemed to dilate. Before looking down,00, "P-Please...Don't let me go...I really wanna go and hide right now...S-See hehehe...Weak. I'm so weak."
"You're far from weak. A weak person wouldn't take her life back from those who took it."
"Only because you provided a chance with the breaking of the shock collar and of Sara's jaw."
"Still took the chance." He argued. "Don't diminish your courage."
She didn't answer him at first. "I killed her...I threatened you with the same fate right after. How can you not be mad at me? How can you accept me? How can you love me?"
"You're Connie Maheswaran." He answered truthfully, "Not just in the physical way, the night I saved you. The defiant look on your face as I approached." Steven grinned gently, "That more than proves you and her are one and same. It's not hard to love you when I never stopped."
Connie remained silent at his words, but she was decidedly more heated than before as she leaned into his facial hold, holding his hands in her own. "Can you...Can you promise not to leave me alone?
She didn't expect him to answer her question the way he did.
Steven lips caressing hers in a gentle, tender, heartwarmingly familiar lip lock. The feeling
Of his suckling upon her top lip, mixed with the massage of his tongue onto and across her own, made her shiver and evoked moans of need towards him as she gripped his shirt, pulling him closer.
After a few moments, they broke their kiss, breathing a shared breath deeply as he placed his forehead on hers.
"You can't leave me." She pleaded, nuzzling against the bridge of his nose with her own.
Steven answered by pecking her once more, getting a trembling -squeak!- in return.
"I promise that I..."
-Koff!-
Connie could only watch in horror as Steven blood met her face from a wet cough.
Shocked tears ran from his brown eyes down as he took a step back before coughing up more blood. His back in a wet pain. His sight going hazy, watching her look at him with tears streaming down.
"I won't leave......"
Was the last thing he said before the light left his eyes. His last image was something pink joining her side.

Fic: Foreign Country
For fuck’s sake... So I got an ask in response to this comment, wherein the lovely nonnie suggested that Ian and Mickey’s reaction to the Kash and Grab would be a reverse sort of situation, with that place holding very happy memories in spite of being a site of trauma (because Kash shot Mickey there). I’m paraphrasing here, obviously... And I spent over a week trying to write the fic that this ask (unintentionally) inspired and now when I posted it Tumblr was messing with the ‘Read more’ so I, stupid and/or tired bastard that I am, deleted the thing to repost it but of course that means the ask is gone aaaaand yeah. I AM SO SORRY NONNIE! :( Hope this one finds you all the same.
Anyway, here’s my resonse:
Ah, yes. Yes! Nonnie, I applaud your dedication to sparking joy and thank you for sharing this delightful reflection! <3 And, uh, it got me thinking about the Kash and Grab and its role as the site of so much that went down with Ian and Mickey in the early years, and yeah, now there’s a ficlet. It involves a trip down memory lane, some angst, some fluff, and a rather startling number of I love you:s. It’s also the reason why it took me so damned long to get back to you… Sorry about that!
Did you ask me to write this? No. Does it stay completely true to your observation rather than carelessly running with it? Also no, but with slightly more regret.
---
Never returning had not been a conscious choice. Neither was going back.
---
Chicago, on a Thursday afternoon in early October, and the air is unusually crisp when Ian steps out from the ambulance station. He's been working the early shift and now he pauses on the sidewalk and turns his face towards the sun, considering. No one's expecting him for another few hours, and it's a fine day: maybe he needn't rush home. Maybe he could walk for a bit.
It's an idea. He's feeling restless, though not the sort of restless that heralds the on-set of a manic episode (or so he thinks, but he makes a mental note to keep an eye out for other signs, and maybe mention it to Mickey). But yeah. He could walk for a bit, then maybe find a station for the L when he tires.
So he walks. Walks and walks and doesn’t tire, and eventually he finds himself on a familiar street and outside a familiar store and he realizes with a start that he hasn't been here in years. Hadn't even known the store was still open, but the sign on the door proudly proclaims it so, and above it the name remains the same, white letters on red: Kash and Grab.
Huh. Without making a conscious decision to, he's stopped walking and is just standing there, staring at the store. The sight of it brings a strange jumble of emotions, and the quietly jarring mingle of familiarty and distance that comes from returning to a place where once you did belong, but belong no longer.
The last time he stood here was the day before he ran off to join the Army, leaving Linda with nothing more than a short message on her phone. That’s more than what his family got, so he hopes she wasn’t too upset. He never asked; never came back; never really thought back – until now.
He hesitates for a moment, then walks up to the door and steps inside. He’s running low on smokes anyway.
It's the smell that hits him first. It hasn't changed, and brings him back to the days when it would cling to his clothes and follow him home, a not unpleasant but distinctive whiff of frozen food and sweet spices.
The interior hasn't changed much either. There’s a kid behind the counter that looks to be in his early teens, and Ian wonders if it’s one of Kash’s sons, if Linda's still running the store. He could ask, but who knows what Linda's told her kids about the teenager who fucked their closeted father before he ran off?
He glances at the boy again – and yeah, he could be Kash's, there's something about the eyes and the chin – and wonders if he ever looked that young when he manned the register. Wonders if that's what he looked like to Mickey, when he'd come into the store to just take whatever the hell he wanted, wether it was chips or, later, Ian's fucking breath away.
Ian Gallagher. You messed with the wrong girl.
And just like that, it's like no time's passed, and he's 15 and 16 and 17 again; he's doing it with Kash and he thinks he loves him; he excels at ROTC and dreams of Westpoint; his mother is alive and he doesn’t yet know that Frank isn’t his father at all – it hardly matters anyhow, because Fiona is there, as she has always been there, as he still thinks she will always be.
She got out and good for her. If she'd stayed here, she'd never been free of her role as sister-mother – never free to be Fiona. And as for him... he'd mourned the army dream when it died, but knows now that it was an uninformed dream, one he would not have cared to live even if  given the opportunity.
Glancing at the counter where he used to open his trigonomy textbook he feels no regret, though perhaps a twinge of sadness for the loss of that optimistic, determined kid, who had not had an easy life by any means, but who had yet to take any real blows, any blows that truly mattered. Those had come later (had come in this very store, some of them) and standing here, where he'd spent so much time as a child and none as a man, he feels something of that kid returning. Remembers the weight of the hundreth can put on a shelf; feels the ghost of a (too) easy smile on his lips; sees himself as he moves between the backroom and counter and fridge.
And everywhere he looks, there is Mickey. Mickey, in a dirty coat or a security west, angry and rough and funny and sometimes with the briefest flash of something softer, sweeter. He is stealing and scaring of thieving kids and restocking the shelves and plotting to murder Frank and moaning as Ian pushes into him.
He is on the floor, too, cursing Kash but otherwise strangely unaffected by having been shot. Ian thinks he might have been more scared and upset than Mickey. It strikes him now as a moment of innocence lost; your lover shot by a jealous ex, a real gun and real blood and what if Kash had had better aim? This was a thing that happened in the world, and if that could happen – anything could.
It strikes him, too, as a turning point: Mickey going away could easily have spelled the end of their intense but brief affair. For all they knew each other's bodies they hadn't really know each other back then, and while Ian had been crushing hard he had not yet loved Mickey. Perhaps they might both have moved on, found other lives and loves. Perhaps that had still been possible, then.
Or perhaps not. It was the first time they were separated and the first time they found their way back to one another, but not the last. It's a dance of coming together and coming apart and coming together, again and again, and they've traced its steps for close to a decade, never once stopping, not truly.
Because even in the absences, Mickey had been, is; there, always, in the stretches of time when he was locked up in juvie; in the eager hours of wating for him to show up at the store; in the exact distance between them at any given time.
Ian can still feel the jolt, like a punch to his gut, like electricity, of looking up from stacking oranges and finding blue eyes staring straight into his.
He remembers the last time they were in here together, when him and his siblings had been taken away by the CPS and Mickey invited him to crash at his place. He remembers his giddy delight at the question, his excitement at the realization that Mickey wanted to spend time with him. He had been so nervous, and looking back, knowing what he now knows, he thinks that Mickey might have been fucking terrified, but there'd been such ease to that evening and night; such familiarty and tenderness. And oh, the sex had been fantastic.
He tries to remember only this, not what came after with the morning light and a door suddenly slammed open –
Mickey had never returned to the store after that, and a few months later Ian had left for the army. Not really for the army, though; what he'd been moving towards had not been nearly as important as what he was moving away from.
Stings, still, that memory; but less than it once did, and as he strolls down the aisles, noting where the pickled cucumber jars have been replaced with tins of tuna and where the small bottles of cheap olive oil still remain, he is surprised to find himself... okay. For a long time, so much of his past had been a painful, tangled thing he did his best to forget, and even after he made his peace with it, he made a point of looking forward rather than back. Now he thinks that maybe, if you're happy with where you ended up, the hardships of the road which led you there are easier to bear.
Doesn't make everything that happened right; just... yeah. Easier to bear.
He buys a pack of cigarettes. The kid behind the counter is eyeing him suspiciously, but Ian thinks that has more to do with him walking around the store and staring at random things rather than with the boy recognizing him from some lurid tale of Linda's. Ian almost asks him to say hello to her from him, but nah. Let old dogs lie.
Outside, twilight is coming on, and there's a slight chill to the air now that the sun is sinking. Ian lights a cigarette and sucks the smoke deep into his lungs. This, too, is familiar, and for a moment he feels unthethered, unsure of when he is, who he is.
Without really thinking about it, he picks up his phone. Mickey's still working but can't be too busy because he answers on the second signal: “Hey.”
“Hey,” Ian says, and then he doesn't say anything else for long enough that Mickey asks him if he fucking wanted something or he's just being a creepy ass phone stalker.
It makes Ian smile. Grounds him. “I love you,” he says.
A beat. “You called me at fucking work to tell me that?” And Ian knows that the gruff disbelief is partially an attempt to cover Mickey's surprised delight at the proclamation.
“Yeah, I guess I did,” he says. Waits for a moment, but Mickey is silent. “You gonna say it back?”
“You fucking serious?”
“Kinda need to hear it.” Because he gets to say that; gets to ask for that. They're not kids not anymore and they don't need to hide. They’re fucking married.
That is real. That is now.
“Jesus Christ, Ian.” But then Mickey, as Ian knew he would, relents. “I love you,” he says, and Ian doesn't know if he's already alone or if he just doesn't care who overhears him, because he doesn't lower his voice or take the time to move somewhere more private.
A brief silence as neither of them speak, but simply rest in the warmth of the words, the truth of them.
Then: “Are you okay?” There's a trace of real worry in Mickey's voice now, and there's a part of Ian's that immediately annoyed because he hates that people worry about him so easily – but a larger part of him has made his peace with it; knows and accepts the reason for it; loves that Mickey loves him enough to worry.
So he offers a brief smile, even though Mickey cannot see it. Hopes it translates into his voice.  “Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine, I promise, it's just... I'll tell you when you get home, okay?”
“Okay.” And maybe Mickey isn't convinced but he takes Ian's word for it. Trust. That's another thing they've been doing better with. “I'll see you in maybe an hour then? I get off at five.”
”Yeah, I'll see you then.” And, because he can, because it's true: ”I love you.”
“Yeah, yeah, you fucking said that already.” A brief pause, then quietly: “I love you, too.”
They hang up. Throwing one last look at Kash and Grab before he walks off, Ian is pleased to realize that he feels nothing but a vague sense of affection for the place. Some things withered and was left here, sure, youthful dreams and ambitions and most of his naivite – but the best thing about it he kept, and Ian will see him soon and hold him soon, and this time he will neither leave nor let him go. Their new dance will move to a different beat.
