"Remind me why we're doing this again?" you huff, pushing some stray strands of hair away from your eyes and tucking them behind your ears.
You glance up at your annoyingly insistent boyfriend from where you're sprawled on the training mat, one of your legs extended in front of you as you examine it for any bruising.
Tangerine stands over you, his arms crossed, and his frown deepens. "Because this is important to know, my luv," he sighs and holds out his hand to you.
Reluctantly, you accept and he pulls you up. Without a word, he tightens your ponytail and then runs his hand down your cheek. His tone is stern when he says, "Now, will you quit your complaining and try again?"
Knowing there is no use in arguing with him when he's like this, you turn around. Your skin feels clammy from the hours spent in this basement and you desperately need a shower.
Tangerine's arm suddenly comes around your throat this time, his other wrapped around your waist.
You gasp, focusing on not being flustered by his proximity as he presses his lips to your cheek. "Go on," he invites hoarsely and tightens his grip, "show me what ya learned."
His tone betrays his smirk as you struggle against him. His hold tightens and his frustration rises.
"Ya aren't even tryin', for fuck's sake!"
"I am," you say, your voice small as your nails dig into his arms.
Tangerine's grip tightens even more. "C'mon, use my strength against me. Just like I showed you earlier."
"I'm trying!" you exclaim more desperately and push against him.
"Try harder!" he grunts, and then his voice becomes low and serious again, "'Cause I'm bein' gentle—any other fuckin' bastard wouldn't, ya hear me?"
"I hate you," you hiss, only half-meaning it.
"Cheers," Tangerine snorts a chuckle and then, with a push, he sends you tumbling to the mat again.
You groan, rolling and hitting the ground with your head against the mat. You're staring at him with an annoyed expression. "You're definitely sleeping on the couch tonight, you dick."
Tangerine crouches next to you, looking you over, and once he sees you're completely unharmed, he takes your chin in his hand as you sit up and looks you dead in the eye. "I'd much rather ya bruise now than be helpless in a dangerous situation, luv. Why can't ya just listen to me? I just wanna protect you," his voice turns much softer.
You sigh, looking at him with a pouty expression. "I'm tired."
Tangerine rolls his eyes but swipes his thumb over your lip in an affectionate gesture. He smiles as he says, "We continue until you knock me down, luv. Just once, alright?"
You know he is being completely serious, so you nod, and he helps you stand again. Tangerine positions you like last time, his arm around you again, and he begins to tell you a scenario.
"Imagine I'm some fucker—"
"Don't have to imagine, honey," you interrupt with a laugh, finding your comment hilarious.
"Pay attention," he growls, "Imagine I'm some dangerous fella, no weapons, but I'm much stronger than you. I have ya like this, and no one is around. What do ya do?"
"Panic?"
"Dalrin', don't fuck with me."
Annoyed, you blow some hair away from your face and think for a moment. When an idea hits you, you smirk.
With as much momentum as you can manage, you suddenly knock your head back and smack Tangerine in the chin. He groans and loosens his arms from around you, but he doesn't back away completely.
You'd anticipated this, so you bend forward and hold his ankle, using his surprise to your advantage as you pull—hard. His legs fall in between yours and you hear a grunt—and then a loud thud.
He's fallen over.
You spin around, and with excitement, you jump onto him, earning another groan as you straddle his hips and pin down his wrists next to his head.
"Ha, I did it," you grin, breathing heavily as you stare into his eyes. Tangerine looks as breathless as you, his blue eyes widened in shock.
He looks you over. He hadn't even taught you that one yet. He cracks a real smile, the one that accentuates the smile lines one his face.
"One correction, baby—please don't straddle your attacker after, okay?"
You grin happily, sitting up and running your hand through his hair. You lean down, kissing his lips hastily, "Mmm, I just can't help myself if they're as sexy as you," you wink dramatically.
Tangerine laughs. He tickles your side and then pushes you off of him, earning him a squeal. "Whatever," he sits up and smoothes his hair, "A deal's a deal, my darlin'. We're done for today."
You sit up, and your eyes widen. "For today? You're shitting me, right?"
Tangerine nods and stands up, dusting his sweatpants and stretching his arms. "Ya didn't think one day would reassure me, did ya?" he shakes his head with a smirk and tuts, "I'm training ya until every move is muscle memory. Now, c'mon, let me check your bruises in the bathroom."
You groan and flop back onto your back. "You're definitely sleeping on the couch," you whine and cover your face with your arm.
"Hurry up, poppet!"
Your boyfriend calls from the doorway, a towel now draped across his shoulders nonchalantly, and when you flip him off that only earns you a fond look from him.

Going to be thirsty here for a moment-. But rereading Breg's fics made me wonder how he would be if Roomie started training herself to be able to take both of his dicks in one hole. Just to let him inside and hammer away. Like, please, sir, break me. 🤲🥺
[Love when people come here like "I hope I'm not being too thirsty". Fem reader. Ignoring anatomy for this because hhhnn-]
TW: Double penetration; Slight dubcon moment.
Tumblr media
" Listen to me Breg. "
You start, and even if you're currently beneath the breeder on the bed, you still sound like a drill sergeant. Mostly because you have to, Breg's not to be trusted when he's excited.
" I've been working up to this for a long while- "
" I know! " He interrupts, the bottom of his face still covered in drool and slick when he dove between your legs after you were done with the stretching exercises.
Breg hates that you had to use toys to size yourself up for this, but the promise that you were doing it so you could welcome both of his members made him slightly more tolerant of it. Didn't change the fact that the breeder would often sit and watch, whining in jealousy of whatever you were stuffing yourself with.
" I'll be really careful! I'll be nice- I promise angel! "
His babbling is a waste of slaver, the monster isn't even looking at you, eyeless gaze perched entirely on the sight of your inviting pussy and the way both of his cocks frame it. The breeder looks like he's thrilling himself with the show, making a horny little noise of appreciation and biting at his lower lip. It's as if he's already envisioning himself deep inside you, not having to squeeze one of his cocks between you two. It's been a fantasy of his for a long time, even you have to admit that it's... Exciting to think about.
Now though, you need Breg to focus, so you grab the sides of his head and bring it closer to yours. " I mean it, listen to me. "
His happiness is infectious, you have to turn away to hide the smile tugging at your lips when Breg simply dips to place kisses all over your face, hearing that long tail sway and swat around.
" Breg! " Mercifully, he stops. " You have to pay attention to what you're doing when you start okay? If we do this wrong, it could hurt me a lot. "
" Yes. " He rushes. " Yes, okay. "
"Good. " With a pant, you spread your legs just a tad further, figuring you couldn't possibly be in a more comfortable positions for this, especially with the support pillows helping to angle you. " Now straighten up a bit, I need to see what I'm doing. "
When the breeder does, you note the way his breathing is already sped up, how feverish he's already become. It's impressive how Breg always manages to make you feel so hot, even when you think you look like a fresh mess. Gently, you reach down to grab both of his dicks, keeping them together as much as you can, and he helps the process by scooting forward to line up against your pussy.
Feeling both tips park there is enough to get you to blow a tense exhale, knowing it's going to be a stretch and a half. In sharp contrast, Breg moans like he's in heat, looking as if his self-control is hanging by a very thin thread currently peeling itself apart.
Some hesitant seconds pass.
" Please angel- Please! I want this so bad. It's going to feel so good, let me fuck you, please! " White claws rub at your thighs comfortingly while he pleads, tail thumping impatiently on the mattress behind him. And curse him, because the breeder's shameless imploring always rises a fire in you that's hard to put out.
" I- I want you to push slowly, okay? " You caution, hold still firm on him, your spare arm clutching the sheets.
" Uhuh! "
True to his word, Breg is careful, torturously edging his cocks forward. The lube helps immeasurably, and pretty soon, both heads pop inside, making you hiss and gasp, immediately clenching at the intrusion. Massive. Fucking massive, holy shit. A wave of warmth courses through you as a pleasant shiver moments later.
" Hhn- Ohh... " He's drooling. Like actually drooling on you. " Hahh. " You can tell by the visible flexing of his legs that the only thing Breg wants to do is buck and hammer the rest of himself in, but with an almost pained grunt, he just sits there statically so the two of you can catch your breaths.
" Good- Very good. " You praise his surprising discipline. " Just keep going like that. "
He makes what you think was an affirmative "Mmn" noise and lolls his tongue out when the next couple of inches are softly rolled into you. It's insanely filling on its own, your thighs squirm and you're not sure if you want to edge away from this or even closer. Breg's instincts kick in and he holds your hips down sternly, slowly sinking more of himself in and making deep, pleased moans that wash against you like waves.
" Ngh- Deep- Slow down, give me a second. " It's stealing the breath out of you.
It takes a couple of moments before Breg's brain registers the command, but he eventually pauses with half of his cocks buried in you. He physically has to tear his gaze off the sight of you stretched around him, chest heaving as he curves to blanket you.
" You're so tight, fffuck you always are but this- " He sighs shakily over your ear, and instead of calming down enough to relax, you only tense and squeeze around him harder, making the breeder growl and whine. " Mmnph-! If you keep doing that I won't hold it, angel. Please, can I put the rest in, please? "
One of these days his begging is going to burst a blood vessel of yours. Or maybe it's the way you feel so bloated already.
" O- Okay, but then you need to let me catch up, okay? "
" Mmmf- " You think he growled there for a second. " Yes! Thank you! "
You expected him to push in slowly the same way he did up until now, though you should frankly know better by now... Breg pulls away in a preparatory motion that should have given it all away, then slams home with a force you have no words to describe.
Your stomach bounces and your lungs knock into your throat, eyeballs jostled in their sockets from the strength of his wild horse piston into your cunt. The disgraceful wet noise that echoed in your bedroom doesn't help in keeping yourself grounded. Although you didn't have enough air in your body to do much more than choke and convulse at the intrusion, the breeder makes more than enough noise for the two of you, howling in delight at the way your poor walls all but crush him in an attempt to adapt to the brute size just forced into them. You can feel him perfectly hilted into you, cockheads kissing as deep into you as they possibly can. It's an indescribable fullness that has the two of you stunted.
" Oh gods fffuck- Hahhn I'm all in. " He mumbles amidst desperate noises. " Mmn feels so good so good- I knew it'd be perfect- Love you angel. "
Both lengths throb inside you. You couldn't respond even if you wanted to.
Although you can very well sense Breg trying to rock against you minutely, he keeps his promise, studying your overwhelmed features and giving you time to welcome him properly. There's some pain, you won't lie, but it's slowly ebbing into something forgettable. The pale monster's sweet cooing and trilling help steady you as he licks your throat and lets his teeth deform slightly to place a loving bite on your shoulder.
Eventually, the breeder shifts and looks down at where the two of you are joined, finding imprints of his lengths in you. His grin is so wide and self-satisfied it looks borderline manic. A large hand comes to palp at the bump in your lower abdomen, but the sensation causes your legs to twitch and you bat his arm away.
Breg whines, a trail of drool slipping down his chin to drip onto your skin. " Can- Can I start? "
Your eyes widen a little, though you nod and take a deep breath. " G-Gentle. "
And that's all it takes.
The monster admittedly has a bit of trouble moving at first, the drag of his cocks inside you bordering on painful until fireworks start firing in your brain from all the spots he has no choice but to stimulate with every minuscule motion. The first moan you let out, throaty and helpless, makes him shiver. Wetness gradually builds, helping along with what's left of the lube, and pretty soon Breg's huffing with every thrust, making noises that almost concern you and visibly sweating. You know he's doing his best to behave right now, and you appreciate it, because both at once is... An experience.
" Ah- Ghn so full- " You choke when he fills you out again, causing the breeder to wag his tail slightly and respond with shorter, faster bursts of movement.
" Does it feel good? " He pants.
" Y- Yeah. " Putting it lightly. Your breath hitches and you cling to his arms for support, unable to help the fluttering of your pussy as you get used to this brand new size.
" Angel... " He begins, in a tone you already know means he's going to ask for something. " Hhn- I know you said gentle but... "
He bucks his hips suddenly, the two of you crying out together, pleasure and shock.
" Breg! "
" B- But I know you like it rough! " He stresses. " You clamp around me so hard, it's so hot- " Your face burns. " Come on... Just this time? "
It's not going to be "just this time", obviously.
When you don't say anything, the breeder hums and drapes over you again, legs readjusting so he can plunge somehow even deeper into you now. And with no hesitation, Breg starts well and truly railing into you.
" AH! HN- Breg?! "
You have to hold onto his neck and back, each desperate slam of his thighs on yours digging his softly barbed cocks so far up into your hole he jostles you forward. But you can't deny that it's making your eyes glaze in rabid animal pleasure, mouth opening and hips grinding back onto him as much as they can, the sloppy noise of his every slam filling you with a gross sense of glee.
You don't like to admit it, but you love being under Breg. It makes you feel small in a very arousing way, trapped under his strength, his smell, hearing how fast he breathes for you, how much his body strains to breed you stupid even if the effort is always pointless in the end. You like that he's always just as enthusiastic, that he always fucks you like it's the last time he's going to get to do it.
" S- See? " He groans, looking down at your flushed, probably disheveled face. " I know you like it- I can smell it. " And just to accentuate the point, there's a snort-like sniff when he dips his head into the crook of your neck, rising goosebumps everywhere. " Gghn- I'm- I'm not going to last too long... "
That startles you a little. Breg's always had surprising stamina. Sure, the first time he penetrated you was a bit short, but he had never been with a human before. Still, this puts an incredulous smile on your face. " R- Really? "
" Yeah- " His words melt into slurred moans, previously speedy motions now interspersed by hard grinds that have your eyes rolling slightly. " 'M sorry, you're so good- Sorry. "
" It's- It's fine. " It's hotter than it should be.
" My mate is so perfect- " He growls in-between sharp, jutting thrusts. " So nice to me- " The whimper on the edge of his voice is more than a good tell of how close he is. " I'm so lucky I get to ahhn- Put both in! "
Even if he doesn't recognize it, Breg has a penchant for this very specific type of dirty talk that makes your brain pop and crackle in a hormone-fueled static, and before you can even beg him to fill you with cum, he fucks into your stretched cunt with three dizzying pistons before flexing and coming so hard you can feel it shoot into crevices you didn't even know you had.
It's too much for such a small space, coating both you and him before it has no choice but to squeeze out of you in depraved spurts. Even if you wanted to hear Breg's rattle of ecstasy, you were too lost in your own orgasm to do so, making something akin to a desperate, sobbing mewl at the overload of sensations.
When you can focus minimally, the breeder is planting amorous kisses everywhere on your upper body, still buried hot and wet inside you. His whole face is flushed blue and he's never looked giddier, shuddering as another glob of seed escapes around his still hard cocks.
" Thank you so much, angel. I loved it! "
Oh, you can tell. " ... Don't mention it. "
Breg chirps. " Tell me when you're ready to go again. "
Why are you even surprised...

do you think you could write a second part to the coach fic where during practice natasha convinces reader to sneak off with her and reader gives her a blow job :))
Reward Pt. 2 | N.R
Tumblr media
MINORS DNI 18+!
Warnings: G!P Natasha (32), kinda manipulative, blow job
Word count: 870 words
A/n: first time writing a blowjob 🫠
Part 1
The training session was in full swing and the rhythmic sound of sneakers on the pitch provided a familiar backdrop. Concentrated and motivated, the team went through exercises and games under Natasha's watchful eye. Unbeknownst to the rest of the players, there was a secret connection beneath the surface.
Moving through the training routine with precision, you couldn't lose Natasha's gaze. Natasha, standing on the sidelines, had her usual stoic expression, but her eyes told a different story. A subtle grin played on her lips as she watched your maneuvers.
As you dribbled the ball, you felt Natasha's gaze intensify, a gaze that seemed to bear the weight of your secret connection. After a while, Natasha gathered the team together to discuss the nuances of a particular move, her gaze lingering on you with a knowing glint. Unaware of the hidden dynamics, the rest of the team listened intently as Natasha explained the intricacies of executing a perfect rondo.
“Well, team, the Rondo is a crucial move that can surprise the opponents,” Natasha explained, turning her gaze back to you. “Y/n, you’re at the center, orchestrating the moves. It’s all about precision and quick decisions.”
But you hesitate. "Coach, I'm not sure the Rondo is the best option here. I think a pick-and-roll could open up more scoring opportunities."
There's a brief silence in the gym as Natasha's eyes met yours and the unspoken challenge hung in the air. The team exchanged glances, unaware of the hidden disagreement unfolding before them.
Natasha stepped closer to you, seemingly unfazed. “Everyone else is going according to my plan,” she said loudly in the hall, her eyes never leaving you, “and you’re coming with me.”
Everyone looked at you with pity and you just wanted to sink into the ground in front of her. Natasha didn't looked away and then took a step back to go into her office. You run after her and hear a few whispers of “good luck.”
In Natasha's office, the weight of your opinion still weighed on you, and there was an underlying tension in the air. Natasha turned her gaze to you and lowered her gaze to your lips for a moment. A subtle, knowing smile played on Natasha's lips as she leaned in, her voice becoming a more sultry tone.
“I have to admit, that wasn’t so stupid. But beware of you questioning my competence in front of the team again." You look at her and nod, noticing how Natasha's hands go down to her pants, "Maybe it's time to put your talented mouth to better use. What do you think?"
The proposal hung in the air, laden with a seductive implication that transcended professional boundaries. You were caught in the magnetic pull of Natasha's words and felt heat rising within you.
Natasha unbuckled her belt, unzipped her pants, and then reached in to pull her cock out. The sight already made your mouth water, but you held back and looked into her cold eyes. “Well, what are you waiting for?” You barely had a chance to open your mouth before your Head was pushed down and her thick shaft was pushed between your lips.
“Yes, that’s it,” Natasha grunted, pushing herself forward until she was almost down your throat. “The only thing your little mouth is good for, right? Come on, suck it..”
The words stuck in your gut, creating a burning pit of pleasure that rushed down to your pussy, making you moan around the cock in your mouth. Natasha placed her hands on either side of your head and began fucking your mouth in earnest. “Fuck yes, that’s going to cum right down my little slut’s throat,” she gasped. “Yes, right there, y-yes, shit!”
You hesitantly swirled your tongue around the tip of her cock and were pleased when you heard her let out a shuddering "yes."
A little unsure, you moved your knee, came a little closer and wrapped a hand around the base of Natasha’s cock. Then you took more into your mouth, surprised that you were taking up so much space and gasping when you felt Natasha's finger tangle in your hair.
“Careful.” It was all muffled and raspy and quiet in a way that made your stomach clench with both desire and embarrassment. You begin sucking the cock like it was an oversized baby bottle and were rewarded with a deep growl of approval and a rather sharp tug on your hair.
You felt tears forming in your eyes, and you were too distracted by your body's reactions to realize that what you were doing was good. A shot of “Coming” slid down her throat as she came in your mouth, making you cough. You awkwardly try to swallow. One thing was for sure, though: this tasted much stronger than you expected, and you really wondered if you could ever get used to it.
You wipe away her remains and stand back up. Natasha already put her cock back in her pants and looked at you until she came to you and pulled you into a kiss. She let go and also wiped a small residue from your mouth with her thumb, “Good girl. Now let’s finish training outside.”

The smell of incense wafted through the pod, mingling with the pungent scent of medicinal paste and herbs. The room was dimly lit, filled with a hushed tension that seemed to permeate the air. Tucked in the far corner of the room, you were busy patching Lo'ak up, applying a cool creamy paste onto his battered body.
As you began to soothe a bruise on his arm, Neteyam stormed into the room, frustration evident on his face. His steps pounded against the woven floors, sending a trickle of fear up your spine.
"What were you thinking Lo'ak? Meeting up with that killer tulkun, again!" He hisses, roughly pushing at his younger brother's head. "Why do you have to make things so difficult?"
"Neteyam," you soothed, moving to stand before him, "Your brother is actually seriously injured. Can we please have this conversation another time?"
"My brother wouldn't be injured if he didn't go past the reefs again. My brother wouldn't be injured if you didn't help him sneak out," Neteyam seethed, towering over you as his golden eyes burned with a blend of anger and disappointment.
Under his intense gaze, you curled into yourself, ears pinning back. You knew what you did was wrong, but you had never seen Lo'ak connect so deeply with someone before.
"Payakan is Lo'ak's spirit brother," you hushed softly, arms and tail wrapping around yourself as you tried to explain yourself to Neteyam, "Outcast or not…They are spirit brothers, Neteyam."
Neteyam clicked his tongue and threw his head back in frustration. Your name then escaped his lips, laced with cold disdain, "I would have expected this from him, but I never imagined you would actively go out of your way to assist him. You were trained to be Tsahìk, and I trusted you to act responsibly."
He took a moment to breathe, his pause magnifying the weight of the situation. "I couldn't be more wrong."
The walls of the room seemed to close in, suffocating you, as his words pierced your heart. Shame washed over you, causing your body to tremble as you grappled with your emotions.
"Neteyam, I…" you tried to speak up once more, but your mouth ran dry, throat shutting close.
"I…I'm sorry, sir," you force out, voice quivering.
Lo'ak's gaze intensifies, and a surge of protective rage surges through him. He swiftly moves to your defense, shoving Neteyam away, a low hiss rumbling from his chest. "Y/N did what she thought was right. We're all responsible for our own actions. Don't you dare lay this shit on her for something I did."
Neteyam's lips were pulled back into a snarl as he pushed Lo'ak back, his voice laced with bitter sarcasm. "Responsible for our own actions? That's rich coming from you considering how much you just love to start shit."
Lo'ak growled before he moved to grapple Neteyam, forcefully pinning the older boy against the pod's walls. The impact caused the wall to shake, knocking a few bottles of herbs from the shelves, which tumbled and clattered onto the woven floors.
"Lo'ak—!" you gasped out seeing the boy draw his hand back, knocking his fist into Neteyam's face.
Neteyam staggered backward, colliding with the wall, as the force of the blow resounded with a heavy thunk. Momentarily dazed, he blinked and glanced up at Lo'ak, his hand instinctively reaching to his throbbing jaw.
“You skxáwng,” he growls.
"Yep. That’s me," Lo'ak quipped, his grin transforming into a menacing sneer. "Your disappointment of a brother. The fucking outcast of the family here."
Neteyam scoffs, wrenching himself off the wall, stomping forward until he was in front of Lo'ak. "What was the one thing dad asked for? Not to cause any trouble, right?" Neteyam huffs. "I'm just looking out for you! We are brothers, Lo'ak. Sully's stick together"
Lo'ak bares his teeth then, a growl ripping from his throat.
"You are not my brother."
Before you could process it, Neteyam's knuckles, flesh and bone, connected hard with Lo'ak's nose. The sound of the impact echoed through the pod, a sharp crack that filled the air. Your eyes widened as you watched Lo'ak reel backward, his body colliding forcefully with a wooden pane. The sudden eruption of violence from the normally composed Neteyam shattered the silence that had settled in the pod.
Lo'ak's snarl shifted into a pained grimace as he clutched his nose, blood streaming between his fingers. The pod fell into an eerie stillness, the air heavy with tension.
You stepped forward, a mix of fear and concern driving you. "Stop! This won't solve anything," you implored, reaching out to Lo'ak with a gentle touch.
Neteyam watched as you fretted over his younger brother, a burning mix of guilt and resentment bubbling up in his gut.
Lo'ak stared up at Neteyam, his anger wavering, replaced by a mixture of hurt and disbelief. His eyes searched desperately for a hint of remorse, a glimmer of understanding. But the older boy just stood there, his jaw clenched.
Shaking his head in frustration, Neteyam turned towards the chamber's entrance. His gaze lingered on Lo'ak, expression hardened with resolve.
"No flying or diving for a month," he declared, his voice carrying a note of finality.
With that, he strode out of the room, leaving behind a tense silence.
Lo'ak clicked his tongue before turning to you, concern etched on his face. He sent a cautious look your way, his voice filled with compassion. "You alright? That was rough back there. His words, I mean."
You mustered a watery smile, trying to brush off the events that just transpired.
"You're the one injured here, I should be asking you that. Plus, I'm used to it," you replied, your voice tinged with the slightest hint of amusement. Lo'ak attempted to speak up once more, but you swiftly redirected the conversation, your hands already reaching for the healing paste.
"Come, let's fix you up."
Tumblr media
The recent days had become a harrowing blur, with a sense of impending doom hanging heavily in the air. Throughout the village, warriors hastily armed themselves, and healers busied themselves with gathering herbs, all while a dark storm loomed ominously above.
It was undeniable—the sky demons had returned.
In the midst of the mounting turmoil, you found yourself travelling through the waters with your friends, following Lo'ak after he abruptly plunged into the depths of the ocean, navigating past the reefs with his ilu.
The salty air clung to your senses as you leaned forward, desperation lacing your voice.
"Lo'ak! Where are you going?!" you cried out, tightly grasping Neteyam's waist as you both pursued him on the back of an ilu.
Lo'ak remained eerily silent, his focus fixated on the abyssal strength of the wavves before him. With an alarming agility, Lo'ak dove down, the sleek figure of his ilu slicing through the water with ease. Gripped by fear and worry, you turned to your beloved, seeking solace and answers.
"Nete—" you began, but your words were swallowed by Neteyam's grim interruption.
"He's going after Payakan," Neteyam replied curtly, his teeth clenched. Gripping your thigh tight, he positioned himself with a firm hold on the ilu's saddle. "Hold on tightly."
With a commanding click, Neteyam directed the ilu to dive down, plunging deeper into the unknown depths.
Then, as you emerged from the depths, you found yourself in the middle of the battle. Crashes of boats and metal birds floating all about you.
As you surveyed the battlefieds, you froze, heart sinking at the sight of Lo'ak perched atop a familiar tulkun, desperately attempting to remove the tracking device cruelly embedded in Payakan's flesh.
Without a second thought, you propelled yourself forward, driven by a surge of adrenaline, disregarding Neteyam's frantic shouts as you rushed to aid Lo'ak in freeing his spirit brother.
The others, recognizing the gravity of the situation, quickly rallied to your aid. Hands reached out, working in unison, as you all grappled with the device, pulling, tugging, and knocking against it in a desperate attempt to break its grip.
"Pull!"
Each moment felt like an eternity but with a final surge of combined effort, the tracking device relinquished its hold, tearing free from the tulkun's skin. A collective breath escaped your lips, mingling with the creature's relieved exhalation.
However, any semblance of relief quickly dissipated when Jake's voice pierced through Neteyam's communication device.
"Boy? Are you there?" Jake's voice quivered with anxiety, instantly sending a shiver of panic down your spine. The sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach intensified as you strained to listen to every word exchanged.
Neteyam swallowed, his throat constricting, before he mustered the courage to respond, "Yeah. I'm here, sir. What's wrong?"
The tense silence hung heavy in the air as you all held your breath, anticipating Jake's next words.
"Is your mate there?" Jake's voice crackled with urgency, the weight of his inquiry sinking into your bones, evoking a gnawing sense of apprehension.
Neteyam hesitated, his eyes briefly meeting yours, before he replied, his voice tinged with unease, "Yes. Yes, she is here—"
Before he could finish, Jake interrupted, his tone laden with concern, "There's been a report that a female na'vi was spotted on the docks of the boat. Are your sisters there?"
The weight of those words hit you like a thunderbolt.
"Shit," you cursed under your breath, running a hand through your braids.
"No, sir. Both Tuk and Kiri are not here," Neteyam replied, his voice laden with dismay.
Jake's voice crackled through the communication device once again, the urgency palpable in his words. "Stay vigilant, Neteyam. We can't afford any risks."
Neteyam nodded, his expression grim and resolute. "Understood, sir. We'll stay on high alert."
As the connection ended, Neteyam immediately began to issue orders, his voice firm and commanding.
"Ao'nung, take Roxto and Tsireya away from here. The open waters are too dangerous. We'll regroup by the rock outcrops," Neteyam directed, his tone brooking no argument.
The metkaniyan nodded, a stony frown etched on his face as he hurriedly ushered his sister and friend away from the immediate vicinity, their ilus awaiting them nearby. Neteyam watched them depart, his gaze lingering for a moment, before he turned his attention back to you and Lo'ak.
"That means you two as well."
"No, Neteyam, no," you protested vehemently. The mere thought of leaving him alone in the face of the approaching war was unbearable to you. "I am not leaving you."
Your plea hung in the air, thick with emotion. It made Neteyam take a moment to pause before he reached for you. An arm curled around your waist as he pulled you close, pressing a searing kiss against your lips.
Then, with a heavy sigh, he drew back, his brows furrowed as anguish swam around his sharp eyes. His gaze shifted to Lo'ak, a silent understanding passing between them. Neteyam's voice was strained but resolute as he addressed his brother, "Go. Now."
The weight of his decision lingered in the air, and you pleaded desperately, your voice wavering, "Neteyam…"
But his mind was made up. Casting one final, heart-wrenching look back at you, he rushed away, vanishing into the crashing waves.
Frantically, you turned to Lo'ak, and it only took one look for you to know that he shared your thoughts.
"We're going after him," he declared, his voice echoing your own desire.
Without wasting another moment, you set off, running towards the crashing waves, adrenaline surging through your veins.
The open waters beckoned, their depths mocking with unseen perils, but you refused to be deterred. The clicks of your ilu's came close and you both made haste, clambering atop the creatures as you dived towards the boat.
By the time you had arrived, half of the vessel was already submerged in the water, and you and Lo'ak quickly scaled its metallic walls, scrambling across the deck.
As you scanned the surroundings, your gaze locked onto three familiar figures at the edge. Kiri is the first to meet your eye and she starts shouting for you to take cover.
The echoes of gunshots reverberated through the air, jolting you into immediate action. You and Lo'ak swiftly slid down towards the figures, engaging in a fierce struggle as you pushed aside soldiers in your path.
Lo'ak managed to snatch a gun along the way, arming himself for the impending confrontation.
"Y/N!" Tuk called out for you as you ran to their position.
Reacting swiftly, you scooped the young girl into your protective embrace, shielding her from the bloodshed unfolding around you. Meanwhile, Lo'ak urgently guided Kiri to safety behind a nearby wall, ensuring she was out of harm's way and sheltered from the relentless barrage of bullets.
In the midst of the pandemonium, Neteyam retrieved the gun from Lo'ak, his movements experienced. He positioned himself around the corner, using it as cover, and unleashed a volley of return fire at your assailants.
"Y/N! Move them out!" Neteyam's cry echoes through the chaos, his voice strained as a bullet narrowly misses his skull.
"Yes, sir!" Reacting swiftly, your instincts kick in without hesitation. Grasping Tuk's hand tightly, you forcefully propel her forward alongside Lo'ak and Kiri, sprinting towards safety.
A sudden prickling sensation on the back of your neck momentarily distracts you, but the rush of adrenaline surging through your veins pushes it aside.
Neteyam, ever vigilant, stays close behind, providing cover fire to protect you all as you navigate through the perilous terrain. With every beat of your heart echoing in your chest, you reach the edge and, without pausing to think, leap over the railing, plunging into the water below.
As the shock of hitting the water subsides, you gasp for air, determined to stay afloat. Despite the biting cold and the sharp tremors running through your body, you maintain a firm grip on Tuk's hand, ensuring she resurfaces beside you.
That was when you realized something was wrong.
The hollers and war-cries of your friends echo in the distance but all you could focus on was the searing hot pain burning up on your neck. The wild waves toss and rock your aching body, carrying you further away from the safety of the group.
"Y/N? Are you alright?" Tuk questioned, immediately taking notice of how pale your face had gotten. The girl paddled closer to you, a shrill scream ripping out of her throat once she saw the murky red waters around you.
The others reacted with alarm, rushing over to you. Choking and gasping for air, you felt your head sink beneath the waves, saltwater filling your lungs.
Fortunately, before you could drown, a pair of strong arms encircled your middle, pulling you up from the depths. As you were turned around, you found yourself face to face with Neteyam, his expression panicked while his mouth opened and closed, searching for the right words as he took in your pale face.
"Syulang—" he began, his voice choked with urgency.
"Bro! What are you waiting for? Get her on!" Lo'ak's voice interrupted, snapping Neteyam out of his trance. His gaze shifted to Lo'ak and Kiri as they guided an ilu towards you. He hastily moved to lift you atop the saddles, before clambering up to sit behind you. After making tsahelyu, he instructed the creature to move, making sure to swim above the waters due to your injury.
Heaving, you felt blood seep from your mouth as you curled onto Neteyam's chest. His normally steady heartbeat was frantic, a panicked endless thrum that seemed to almost blend into one. His lips were pressed tight against your temple as his fervent prayers seeped against your burning skin.
"Stray strong. I need you to stay strong," Neteyam's voiced hushed.
In the distance, he spotted a rocky outcrop where his parents stood, urgently waving them over. Lo'ak followed closely behind, his voice trembling as he called out to them. "Dad! Mom! It's Y/N!"
Working together, both Lo'ak and Neteyam carefully lifted your body onto the rocky stump, surrounded by Neteyam's family. Your breaths now came in short, labored heaves, your chest rising and falling rapidly as it struggled to draw in enough oxygen.
Jake stepped forward, his hands pressing against your shoulders as he gently rolled you over to examine your wound. A sinking dread settled in his chest as he saw the gaping exit wound at the base of your nape.
Neteyam stood by his father's side, his hands trembling with panic. "Sir? What's wrong?"
"Pressure. Put pressure," Jake's voice came out monotonous which sent a strike of fear through Neteyam. Immediately, the boy did as told, his large hands pressing onto your frail neck. Your eyes darted frantically across the faces gathered around you, wild and unfocused, until they finally settled shakily on Neteyam.
"Sir, I—" you gasped, more blood slipping from your lips as you inadvertently bit down on your tongue in pain. Neteyam quickly hushed you, his frown deepening at the militaristic term you had used. "Sir, I'm sor—"
Then, the pain began to dull and a sense of impending finality washed over you. Heaving, you allowed yourself to lower your façade of strength and embrace your vulnerability in what could be your last moments. With a trembling hand, you reached up and pressed it against Neteyam's cheek, tears welling in your eyes as you took in the sharp features of his face.
"I'm scared," you winced, feeling small and lost, like a frightened child. "Ma'Neteyam… I am so scared."
Grief and anguish filled Neteyam's expression as he reached for your hand, pressing his lips gently upon it.
"I know, syulang. I know. I'm sorry," he murmured, a pool of guilt building up in his stomach as he recalled his last conversation with you and Lo'ak. "You'll be alright, okay? You have a strong heart."
As he looked into your wide, fearful eyes, Neteyam felt a surge of emotions wash over him, carrying him back to the vivid memories of your childhood.
The scenes played out in his mind like a reel of nostalgia, as if he were standing once again among the towering, thick trees of Omaticaya. He could almost hear the laughter that had filled the air as you both explored the wonders of the forest together, the exhilaration of climbing the sturdy branches, and the shared secrets whispered under the shelter of rocky caves.
Tumblr media
"Neteyam… I'm scared," you whimpered, your heart throbbing in your chest as you felt the coarse texture of the sturdy tree trunk pressing against your back.
Both of you were out playing in the forests and had lost track of time. It was way past eclipse now.
The dense forest was sprawled out before you, engulfing everything before you in an ominous shroud. The fading light of the setting sun cast elongated, eerie shadows that danced amidst the towering trees.
A young Neteyam stood in front of you, his hands gently cupping your tear-streaked cheeks, tenderly wiping away the droplets. Then, the warrior boy radiated a warm smile at you. "I'll keep you safe, syulang."
The air resonated with unsettling growls and haunting howls. Amidst the gloom, pairs of luminous eyes glimmered from hidden crevices behind the trees, concealed beasts lying in wait. Though fear still lingered within you, you summoned the courage to step into his awaiting embrace, seeking solace and security in his arms.
"Do you promise?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
"I promise."
Tumblr media
"I'll keep you safe, syulang," Neteyam hushed, his voice filled with desperation, as he leaned in to press a kiss against your cracked and bloodied lips. The taste of iron flooded his mouth, but the concern for your well-being eclipsed any discomfort he felt.
Drawing closer, his forehead gently touched yours, causing his tears to mingle with yours as they cascaded onto your cheek. "I promise."
Neteyam's trembling fingers delicately brushed against your neck, seeking the faint and weakening pulse that throbbed beneath your clammy skin. Your breathing, labored and high-pitched, struggled to utter his name, "Neteyam—"
"Nete...I," Then, in an agonizing moment, your eyes dulled, your body going limp as you gasped out your last breath. Neteyam froze, his heart pounding in his chest as he withdrew from you, his movements graceless. "Syulang?"
"Neteyam… I," Lo'ak croaked out, his voice laden with guilt as he moved closer, attempting to offer comfort to his brother. "I'm sorr—"
His well-intentioned gesture was abruptly met with a forceful push, as Neteyam's frantic state escalated. Disregarding the presence of the others, he gathered your lifeless body into his trembling arms, holding you close as he began to hyperventilate. "No, no, no, no—"
Lo'ak stood motionless, his gaze fixed upon the devastating scene unfolding before him. Blood stained the younger brother's hands, a haunting reminder of his involvement, the guilt and remorse etched deep within him. Kiri pressed herself against his side, offering what little solace she could.
Tears streamed down Neteyam's face in an unrelenting wave as he shook vehemently, his grip on your lifeless form tight. Every breath he managed to take came in ragged gasps, his chest heaving with profound anguish as his quivering lips whispered a fervent prayer to Eywa.
"Great Mother, I beg of you, please don't take her away from me. It's not her time. Please, I can't bear to lose her," the words tore from his throat, strained and desperate, a raw and hoarse plea echoing through the air.
But the silence that followed was deafening, and the universe remained indifferent to his anguished pleas. Fate had dealt her cruel hand and there was no reversing what has happened. A despondent hush settled upon Neteyam as he cradled your cold body, his fingers trembling as he traced the contours of your face, desperately clinging to your fading warmth.
Tumblr media
'All energy is only borrowed, and one day you have to give it back.'
These were the words that had been etched into Neteyam's consciousness since his earliest memories, told to him when he was a mere babe. Through the years, those words had taken root in his heart, their significance growing with each passing day. They held a bittersweet reminder of the transient nature of a Na'vi's existence, an understanding that all things, no matter how great or powerful, would eventually fade away.
And now, as he stood amidst the darkest hour of his life, pushing a leaf which cradled your lifeless body along the gentle waves, the weight of his mother's words pressed upon him with a poignant intensity. They whispered to him the solemn truth of loss, the inevitable fate that even the brightest and most vibrant blooms would eventually wither away.
Far off by the shores, the Metkayina clan were gathered together to honor your death. Soft songs were sun by artisans in the distance while warriors surrounded the waters, ready to assist your grieving mate in anyway.
The ebb and flow of the waves embraced your body, as Neteyam delicately allowed you to be immersed in the water. Neytiri and Jake moved to swim towards him, their concern evident in their eyes, but he shook his head, a silent request for solitude as he embarked on the final journey with you alone.
Silently nodding, they swam away and watched from a distance, their hearts heavy with grief for their son as Neteyam held you close, whispering words of love onto your cold lips.
Taking you into his arms once more, Neteyam took a deep breath, and with a graceful dive, immersed himself into the depths of the ocean.
In this underwater sanctuary, time seemed to stand still as he held his breath, allowing the weight of his emotions to wash over him. The silence enveloped him, broken only by the gentle lullaby of the underwater currents. His tears, blending seamlessly with the surrounding currents, were carried away into the vast expanse of the sea.
With a heavy heart, Neteyam loosened his grip, letting you go and releasing you into the gentle caress of the water. As your curled up form sank slowly towards the ocean bed, soft hues of blue and green cradled you in their hold, painting the scene with a poignant melancholy, as if the ocean itself mourned your passing.
A soft glow of bioluminescent algae adorned the waters, casting a mesmerizing luminescence upon the solemn setting. Each flickering glow, like a delicate farewell kiss.
Neteyam watched on as the golden tendrils engulfed you in its shimmering embrace. Then, finally, glowing like a chorus of tiny stars, the algae weaved their radiant tendrils around you, a final act of nature as Eywa took you in.
Ngaru irayo seiyi ayo,
Srrìri tìreyä,
Ma Eywa, ma Eywa.
Tumblr media
Neteyam swam before the tree of ancestors, his heart heavy with a mix of anticipation and sorrow. His hands grasped onto his queue tightly, feeling the sacred bond beneath his battle-hardened palms. Just beside him, Tsireya floated along the deep waves with a heaviness in her gaze, her eyes downcast as she shakily signed to him, her hands trembling with emotion, 'Are you ready?'
Both of them had embarked on this solemn journey together, a quest to connect with the Metkaniyan spirit tree, seeking solace from your spirit and Eywa herself.
Neteyam had requested Tsireya's presence, knowing the sisterly bond that had blossomed between the two of you over the months. He understood that she, too, carried the weight of grief for your loss.
He nodded, a bit more frantic than he'd like. Tsireya smiled at his eagerness, her eyes shimmering with shared anticipation, her hands signing once more, 'Is there a specific memory you'd like to see?'
Neteyam paused, his mind drifting through the vast ocean of memories that he held of you, each one precious and poignant.
A minute passes, and finally, with a gentle nod, he signed his answer.
Tumblr media
Neteyam found himself standing amidst the lush foliage of the Hometree, bathed in the soft glow of the sun. The vibrant colors of the forest danced around him, creating a tranquil backdrop for his restless heart. With each purposeful step, he moved stealthily through the forest. And then, his eyes locked onto a familiar sight—a burrowed cave where you often retreated to immerse yourself in craftwork.
His heart quickened with anticipation as he approached, his hand reaching for the necklace that hung around his neck, feeling the smooth beads under his fingertips. Then, in a single, fluid motion, he unclasped it and dropped it to the ground.
The remnants of this memory came rushing back, the echoes of your shared past resurfacing with vivid clarity. As he drew nearer, your teenage form seemed to flicker and shift, transforming before his eyes into your adult self. The passage of time etched upon your face, mirroring the weight and wisdom you accumulated over the years.
Time seemed to stand still as your gazes locked, a magnetic force pulling Neteyam closer to you. Emotions swelled within him, a blend of joy, sorrow, and a deep yearning to bridge the gap that separated you both.
"Hey," he smiled tearfully, his voice filled with a mixture of tenderness and vulnerability, "What are you doing, syulang?"
Your face lit up, a radiant smile gracing your lips as you gestured for him to come closer.
"I just finished weaving something. It's for you," you exclaimed, your excitement palpable. "Come, let me put it on."
Neteyam eagerly obeyed, lowering himself before you, allowing you to clasp the necklace around his neck.
"My mighty warrior, it suits you," you remarked, your voice filled with warmth as you beheld the necklace settled atop his chest.
Neteyam huffed out a bittersweet laugh as tears streamed down his cheeks. "It does."
Concern then etched across your face.
"Ma'Teyam," you murmured softly, your touch soothing as you gently ran your hands through his braids. Neteyam's tears continued to flow, an outpouring of emotions that spoke volumes of his love and longing. You furrowed your brows, tilting your head to the side.
"Why do you cry, Nete?"
"I'm just…" Neteyam took a moment to steady his breath, his voice a tender reflection of his inner turmoil. A mixture of joy and sorrow lingered in his words. "I'm happy to see you."
Your laughter, a melodic and breathless symphony, filled the forest with its warmth. It wrapped around Neteyam's heart, offering a fleeting respite from the weight of your loss.
"Oh," you replied, your voice tinged with affection, "I am happy to see you too, Nete."
Tumblr media
Tsireya stood from afar, allowing Neteyam to meet you in spirit alone. She watched over him as his form drifted, a gentle smile gracing her lips.
Her heart then swelled with warmth as she witnessed his lips curve into a genuine grin, seeing his once stern expression melt away into a state of serene contentment.

Leighton's heart raced like a runaway train, each beat reverberating through her chest like a drumbeat of impending doom. She stared blankly at the pages of her math textbook, the equations and formulas blurring together into an indecipherable mess. No matter how hard she tried to focus, her mind refused to cooperate, consumed instead by a rising tide of panic.
"I can't do this," Leighton whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the sound of her own ragged breaths. "fuck I can't do this."
She raked a hand through her hair, tugging at the perfectly styled blonde locks in frustration. This wasn't like her. Leighton Murray was known for her sharp intellect and unwavering confidence, especially when it came to academics. But now, faced with the looming specter of failure, she felt utterly powerless.
The fluorescent lights of the college dorm hallway cast a stark glow on the beige walls, as Bela, Leighton's roommate, hurriedly dialed Y/N's number. She could hear the faint sound of Leighton's pacing from the other side of the door, mixed with the irregular rhythm of her breaths.
"Come on, pick up," Bela muttered under her breath, anxiety lacing her voice as she waited for the call to connect.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Y/N answered. "Bela? What's up?"
"Y/N listen, something's wrong with Leighton. She's freaking out about something. I don't know what to do."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat at the urgency in Bela's voice. Leighton was known for her impeccable composure, if she was hyperventilating over something, it had to be serious.
"I'm on my way," Y/N said without hesitation, grabbing her jacket and keys before rushing out of her own dorm room.
Minutes later, Y/N knocked on the door of Leighton and Bela's room, her heart pounding in her chest. Bela opened the door, her eyes wide with concern as she stepped aside to let Y/N in.
Leighton was pacing around her room, her usually perfectly styled blonde hair in disarray, and her hands shaking as she clenched and unclenched her hands.
"Leighton, hey," Y/N said softly, crossing the room to grab ahold of Leighton's hand softly, stopping the pacing. "What's going on? Why are you so worked up?"
Leighton looked up, her blue eyes swimming with panic and vulnerability. "Y/N, I… I don't know what to do. My brain is all scrambled and I can't memorize these formulas for shit I don't know what's wrong with me."
Y/N's heart broke at the sight of Leighton's distress. She smiled sadly at her, offering a reassuring squeeze to her hand.
"Hey, look at me," Y/N said, her voice steady and soothing. "You are more than capable, Leighton. You're brilliant, and you know this stuff. I know you do, you're quite literally the smartest girl on campus."
Y/N noticed Leighton's breathing picking up, and she gently guided Leighton to sit down on the edge of her bed.
"Hey, it's okay," Y/N said soothingly, her voice a beacon of calm in the storm. "Just breathe with me, alright?"
Leighton nodded shakily, her breaths coming in short, shallow gasps. Y/N settled down beside her, taking Leighton's trembling hands in her own and guiding them to her chest.
"Feel my breath," Y/N instructed, her voice soft and reassuring. "Inhale… and exhale."
Together, they began to breathe in tandem, the steady rise and fall of Y/N's chest a comforting rhythm against Leighton's fingertips. With each breath, the tight knot of tension in Leighton's chest began to loosen, replaced instead by a sense of peace and calm.
As they continued the exercise, Y/N whispered words of encouragement, her voice a gentle melody soothing Leighton's frazzled nerves. And with each passing moment, the storm raging inside Leighton began to subside until all that remained was the quiet serenity of the present moment.
"Better?" Y/N asked, her eyes searching Leighton's for any sign of distress.
Leighton nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Thank you, Y/N," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
Y/N smiled back, her heart swelling with love for the girl sitting beside her. "You don't have to do anything alone, Leighton. I'm here for you, always."
Leighton's breathing began to slow as she focused on Y/N's comforting words. With each steady inhale and exhale, the tension in her body began to ease.
After the storm of panic had passed, their fingers stayed intertwined as they basked in the calmness that filled the room. But amidst the tranquility, Y/N couldn't shake the nagging concern that had been gnawing at her since she first saw Leighton in distress.
"Leighton," Y/N began softly, her voice barely above a whisper, "do you… do you have an anxiety disorder? I'm so sorry if that's rude to ask, I've just noticed you get really.. panicked sometimes."
Leighton's breath hitched at the question, her eyes widening in surprise. She hadn't expected Y/N to pick up on the underlying issue so quickly, let alone address it so directly.
"Yeah," Leighton admitted hesitantly, her voice tinged with vulnerability. "I do."
Y/N's brow furrowed in concern as she faced Leighton, her expression a mixture of empathy and confusion. "Why didn't you ever tell me?"
Leighton looked away, her gaze fixed on a spot on the floor as she struggled to find the right words. "I guess… I guess I was scared," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "Scared that you would think less of me, or that you wouldn't understand."
Y/N reached out and gently lifted Leighton's chin, guiding her to meet her gaze. "Leighton, I could never think less of you," she said earnestly, her eyes filled with sincerity. "You're still the same amazing person I fell in love with, anxiety disorder or not."
Leighton's eyes shimmered with unshed tears as she absorbed Y/N's words, her heart overflowing with gratitude for the unwavering love and acceptance she found in Y/N's embrace.
"Thank you," Leighton whispered, her voice thick with emotion.
Y/N smiled softly, leaning in to press a tender kiss to Leighton's forehead. "You never have to face anything alone, Leighton. I'm here for you, always."
And as they sat together in the quiet intimacy of Leighton's room, surrounded by the gentle warmth of their love, Leighton knew with unwavering certainty that no matter what challenges life threw their way, as long as she had Y/N by her side, she could weather any storm.

A drabble on what if Arthur repealed the magic ban while Merlin wasn't there. I like the idea of Arthur thinking Merlin will be mad, he said magic has no place in Camelot afterall. And Merlin being like shit I'm gonna have to start telling the truth.
A fic where Merlin goes to visit his mother for a few weeks. It's Yule and he misses her.
While he is gone a child comes to trial. Hardly 12 and clearly terrified. She had been caught using magic.
She swears she didn't mean to, that it just started happening one day and she was so scared of what was happening to her.
The law says she is to burn.
But Arthur just can't seem to make the call. He can only think of the girl Morgana used to be when he looks at her.
He speaks to Gaius and Geoffrey about what Camelot was like before the ban. How people square magic. He learns, for the first time, more than his father had ever let him.
He's thinking of......well not reversing the magic ban. But this girl can't be evil surely.
He wishes Merlin were here, his advice is often quite sound. But Arthur is unsure if Merlin, who has been so outspoken against magic in the past, would agree with such loose laws.
But it comes down to this. Arthur cannot in good conscience kill that girl. And he can not have her as an exception. So he changes the law.
Merlin hasn't spent this long in Ealdor since before he left. He finds it quite lonely without Will to cause trouble with.
But he finds he is not ostracized like he was when he was a boy. In fact, more often than not he has to dodge mothers pushing their daughters onto him as prospects.
He is in his mother's house trying bundles of herbs to be dried and taken back to Camelot when his mother rushes in.
She stairs at him for a moment. Eyes wide, something clearly about to spill off her toung.
"Mother?" Merlin says moving closer, " What's wrong what happened? Has goodie meridan gone into labor?"
"Merlin. My boy. We just received news from Camelot. Gaius sent a letter. I....." Her face is flush. She doesn't look scared but Merlins heart drops anyway
"Arthur...." Merlin starts
"He's fine, he's fine" Hunith walks towards her son, cupping his face in her hands.
She laughs. Full belly and full of joy, her hands on his face strong, they almost hurt.
"He repealed the magic ban Merlin. Oh my boy by royal decree"
Merlins knees nearly give out.
"Surely you aren't serious....." Merlin gasps. "Do you have the letter?"
She hands it over and he reads frantically.
My good Hunith.
I write you instead of Merlin for reasons that will become obvious.
I also just request more of that dried lavender you sent last time, it does not smell the same from the north.
How is your neighbor Gregory fairing with his leg? My tonic recipe helped I hope, I would like to hear how it went.
There is news from Camelot. You might have heard, it will make fast news I'm sure.
A girl was brought to court for magic. Hardly 12 summers, she swears she did not train for magic, that it came naturally and she has no control.
Arthur was hesitant to burn her, despite the law, and tasked me with examining her.
I explained my findings, you know my friend how truly common it is to have magic as the girl does. Arthur listened well, and I sent the king off with what recommendations I could.
There are few books left on the subject but he spoke to Geoffrey. I assume he found some enlightened reading.
The next day, his verdict was as follows.
"The law of the land, as set by my Father King Uther, is that magic has no place in Camelot. I quite agree. Magic is dangerous, it has raveged my family.
But I can't help but think these laws might create more enemies. I cannot kill a girl for a crime she did not willingly commit. But I cannot banish her and create an enemy."
The council spoke on formal matters and specifics but Hunith, it is looking well. I feel hope I haven't had in decades.
Arthur has repealed the magic ban, in part. There are specifics to be worked out, and it is unclear if it would apply to Merlin. It certainly wouldn't apply to myself.
I will write again when I have more details.
I wish I could see the boy's face when he hears the news. Give him my love
Gaius
Merlin reads it. Than again. The third time he skims it he is tearing up. Looking desperately for any sign that Gaius tells a lie.
When he finds none, and there is no answer but that Gaius's words are true.
Merlin weeps. He falls to his knees and weeps.
Hunith cradles his head, spilling some tears of her own.
"oh my boy" she says. "What news. I knew Arthur would be a good king." She presses a kiss to her son's head.
Merlin cries, and wonders why he feels more scared than ever.

Numb.
It’s a weird feeling - the tingling in your fingers, the ringing in your ears, the copper tang from biting your tongue. I don’t think I’ve even blinked since… Well, since Alice removed me from the war path of her brother.
It was almost as if someone else was in my body, watching this train wreck of a birthday party.
Everything was fine. I was cozied up to Jasper, he was whispering kisses into my hair and rubbing mindless patterns on my back as he held me close. Warm, safe, content, protected.
Until I wasn’t.
Until Alice wrapped an arm around my waist after Bella opened the envelope from Esme and Carlisle. Next thing I knew, I was across the room and Bella had a paper cut.
Chaos was an understatement.
Jasper met my eyes, pitch black hunger showed back instead of the person I was familiar with and a cold shiver ran down my spine. Rose flashed in front of me, drawing his predatory gaze before it finally landed on Isabella. Edward, sensing the turn in Jasper’s attention, pushed Bella away to intercept his brother’s loss of control.
It all happened so quickly, my eyes could barely track what transpired.
Edward shoved Jasper across the room, right into the grand piano under the second floor landing, causing a gasp to rip from my throat. Bella was knocked into a table, colliding with glass that tore open her bicep. Carlilse was torn between helping Emmett restrain Jasper and staunching the blood flow from Bella’s larger cut. I started shaking, one hand covering my mouth and the other gripping Rose’s arm, Alice’s arm still around me and Rose standing before me protectively.
This has to be a nightmare. How did this turn so quickly?
Once Emmett wrestled his brother outside, the Cullen’s took their leave one by one, leaving Bella and I with Carlisle. Escorting Bella to his office to patch her arm up, I'm left alone in a room that looks like a bomb had been set off just moments ago. And it had, our fragile mortality just decimated what was supposed to be a night of celebration. After a few moments of spiraling out, I feel a hand on my elbow bring me back to the present - Esme.
“Dear, let me clean, I don’t want you to accidentally… C’mon.” She tells me in that light motherly tone, trying to be gentle and kind as she leads me away from the shattered glass covered rug.
I can’t accidentally cut myself, not if I want to be around Jasper.
Jasper.
“Where is he?” I ask in a daze.
“Sweetheart-“ but I interrupt her.
“I need to check on him, the others will… make sure I’m alright.” The words are acid in my mouth, it’s almost unfathomable to even doubt my safety in the presence of him.
Almost. And it breaks my heart.
“Garage.” She answers gently.
Tumblr media
Jasper
I can’t breathe.
Not that vampires need oxygen, but I’m probably as close to getting a panic attack as one could get.
“Breathe man, everything is fine.” Emmett tries to reassure me, but it’s futile. I’m pacing back and forth in the driveway, while the rest of my adopted siblings watch from the garage.
“Everything is not fine.” Edward states, still as a statue from the corner.
“Dude, not fucking helping.” Rose fires back with a flash of teeth.
I continue my pacing, my fingers tugging on my blonde strands in an effort to ground myself and it’s doing nothing for my anxiety. What did I do? Is Bella alright? Is Y/n? I need to get a fucking grip on this hunger. A paper cut sending me into a spiral, you’ve got to be shitting me-
My internal monologue is interrupted by the door to the house opening from in the garage, the object of my thoughts emerging as if I summoned her.
“Y/n you can’t-“ Emmett starts, but she cuts him off, her eyes only on me.
“Alice, I’ll be fine, right?” She asks my sister without looking in her direction.
After a moment’s pause, “Yes, but-“
“No ‘but’s’, I need to speak with him alone. I trust him completely.” Stubborn and headstrong.
“We’ll be inside.” Alice acquiesces, to whom I’m not really sure.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Rosalie hesitate, protectiveness dripping from her, deliberate and aware that I could feel it. After a short nod from Y/n, she turns sharply to follow the rest of them inside. Odd, the one who abhors humans the most would feel the need to… protect one that’s threatened her way of life.
Before tonight I would’ve laughed, but now? Now I’m not so sure I even trust myself around her.
“Are you alright?” She asks me in the smallest voice I’ve ever heard from her, standing eight feet from where I pace but it might as well be the fucking Pacific Ocean.
I laugh, “Am I alright?” I repeat back to her.
“That was a stupid question, I was just-“
“I’m not fucking alright!” I explode, reaching the end of my sanity. I hear her suck in a breath and I immediately regret the tone in which I threw the words at her, but my thoughts keep flowing.
Tumblr media
Reader
“I can’t do this! Not when it’s so easy for me to flip a switch and hurt you!” He exclaims desperately, eyes wild.
“What are you talking about? What do you mean you can’t do this?” I know he could feel the anguish pour out of me in droves at just the thought of what he’s implying. He wouldn’t actually leave over something so small, would he?
“You don’t fucking get it, darlin’... I have to go-I can’t do this, I won’t hurt you. Not if I can help it.” Turning away I stop him in his tracks.
“I love you.” The confession slips before I could reign it in. His back tenses before spinning around in a split second flash.
“Y/n-“ He gapes like a fish out of water, the look on his face is nothing but pure agony as he turns and disappears into the night.
Did he?
Did he just leave?
Even the forest is silent, like it’s waiting with bated breath for my next move.
How did this night start so wonderfully, then turn into this? My mind is empty and too full at the same time... And breathing? When did that become such a task? In and out - but how can I force air in when my heart is in my throat? My lips start to tingle, cheeks prickling painfully.
I close my eyes and shake my head like it’s some Magic 8 ball, trying for a different answer-a different outcome.
This can’t be, denial starts flooding in to try and put out this burning in my chest. There’s no way Jasper Hale just decided so quickly-so easily, to leave me.
There’s no way.
I love him.
That’s enough, right?
I must’ve been standing here for hours. Hours, days, months, years it’s felt like since I was staring into those gorgeous dark eyes filled with such self-hatred.
I jolt out of my thoughts when a pair of cold hands find my shoulders, I glance up to see Emmett’s concerned face. I feel as though the cold has seeped right through my skin, straight to the bone. It’s almost like I’m in this bubble. I see his mouth moving what seems to be a mile a minute, but the ringing in my ears drowns his words out.
Is this what that feels like? Shock? Focus Y/N, focus.
I feel a gentle shake from Emmett’s hold on my shoulders, “Are you alright? What are you doing standing in the driveway alone? Where’s Jasper?”
“He’s gone, Em.” I whisper, turning robotically to where I last saw him.
Emmett’s eyes widened, “He-he what?” I see him glance towards the woods that line the driveway, “I’ll find him and-”
“Emmett no, let him go. No one will change his mind, not right now anyways. Please,” I say a little quieter, “Don’t go.”
He envelopes me in a massive hug, “Never, Y/n/n.”
After a few moments and a small squeeze, he starts to lead me back inside to face the rest of the Cullens, where do I even begin to explain this mess to them?
Tumblr media
Everyone gathered in the living room, silent after Emmett gave them a short explanation as to why we were missing a member while I stood next to him with my eyes glued to my shoes.
Looking around to see everyone’s reaction, I first notice a bandage wrapped around Bella’s bicep - Carlisle’s handiwork underneath, no doubt. Standing an awkward distance away from his girlfriend I notice Edward scarily still, no trace of emotion on his face which causes a shiver to snake down my spine. I turn, seeing Esme have what looks like a silent conversation with her husband through meaningful and pained expressions, I quickly look away knowing it’ll break my heart even more to watch the exchange. Rosalie walks over to take Emmett’s hand on his opposite side, his other still on my upper back - grounding me. Her face was a perfect depiction of concern directed at her mate, I couldn’t deal with that either, so I glanced at the last face in the room - Alice. Her features are torn and taught, like she’s searching the future and not liking what she’s seeing.
I feel like my life is just slipping from beyond my control, this has to be a horrible dream. It couldn’t have been more than an hour ago that I was standing right here, in this room, with Jasper’s arm draped around my waist, watching Bella descend those stairs.
I wonder a few steps beyond Emmett’s reach and stop, needing out of this house but not quite ready to be alone, I turn back around to my best friend and plead, “Em, take me home?”
Sparing a glance to his girlfriend who tilts her head in a nod of understanding, “Of course, let me grab the keys to the Jeep.”
It only takes a second with his speed to stand in front of me again, “Alright, let’s get out of here.”
I turn to Esme before I’m fully out the door, “Thank you for hosting the party tonight, it was lovely while it lasted.”
Her face scrunches in sadness, “Oh honey-“
“Goodnight everyone.” I say as Emmett steers me into the garage.
“Don’t do that, you don’t have to-“
“Have to what?” I cut him off as I shut the passenger door, the sound reverberating in the enclosed space.
“You don’t always have to spare everyone’s feelings at the expense of your own.” He climbs in himself and jams the keys in the ignition, the familiar rumble of his beloved machine filling the silence.
“It’s fine-everything is fine, this isn’t happening. It can’t be.”
“Y/n-“ He starts, but I cut him off as he activates the garage door and pulls out.
“No Em, it’s-I just can’t okay? I don’t know my head from my heart right now and I just need to hold myself together like this for just a little bit longer, alright? My sanity is dangling by a thread.” Running my fingers through my hair, I turn towards the passenger door to lean on it.
The rest of the ride is spent in silence. I know he wants to talk, to say the magic words that fix this widening hole in my heart that’s growing by the second, but he can’t. No words can fix this, nothing fixes this sudden loneliness that Jasper created the moment he decided this course of action in our situationship. So I stare out my window, trees flying by, the outside world a blur.
Pulling up in front of my house, I spy the porch light my mom must’ve left on for me, assuming I’d get home late. I hear the engine cut off and turn to my left, surely he isn’t going-
“I’m coming up.” His eyes set like he’s on a mission.
“Are you crazy? Hell no, I’m not about to let you sulk in the corner while I bawl my eyes out like some pathetic pity party!” Throwing my hands up.
“Listen, Y/n-“
“Besides, your Jeep in the driveway is going to look suspicious! Even if you park it down the street, my mom is familiar with it.” I try to reason with him.
“But-” Emmett continues to try and sway me.
“Em, I’ll be fine,” I whine, “I know you’re worried, I’ll have my phone and I’ll text you tomorrow. This isn’t your responsibility to fix, I just think I need to be alone right now.”
He lets loose a deep sigh, “I’m just worried about you is all.”
“I know, I’m sorry. You’re just looking out for me and I appreciate it.” I look back to my house, “Maybe come over in a day or two? When I’ve had some time to process it all?”
“Of course, I’ll see if I can find this idiot and figure out where his head is at. Maybe beat him up for ditching my best friend in the dark.” He shoots me a playful grin, trying to lighten the mood.
“Emmett...” My eyebrows push together, his thoughtfulness constricting my throat.
“Go to bed, call me if you need to talk or whatever, everything will be fine.” He pats my leg in reassurance.
I climbed out of his massive Jeep and shut the door. Glancing behind me as I walk away, he gives me his signature lopsided smile as the engine turns over and he begins backing out of the drive.
Everything will be fine, yeah?
Yeah fucking right.
Who knew that was the last time I would see them, two weeks ago.
Everything was most definitely not fine.

Just thinking about Dabi being admitted to a mental asylum, where he falls for reader, who is visiting a family member.
Reader is a goody two shoes, too kind and sweet for her own good. At first, Dabi wants to spook her and hurt her and shit, but she always returns to him, sometimes you'd scold him or swat him lightly if he tries to bite you.
Slowly and surely, Dabi falls for the naive girl who always brings him homemade snacks and books and trinkets from outside. And you fall for him too, as he starts showing you his softer side. He's still a little mean every now and then, but it's more playful teasing.
Dabi likes to hear you talk, about anything and everything. He pretends he doesn't listen, but he has memorised every word you've ever said. That's why he always uses "daddy's money" to bribe a nurse to buy you gifts.
You push him to tell you stuff about himself, and he begrudgingly tells you that he used to play violin. And by play, he meant he was a "violin progidy".
He was surprised one day when you brought him a violin. An expensive one too. Why would you do that?
You smiled brightly. "I wanna hear you play!"
You took him to the asylum's garden, where it was quite and peaceful. Dabi stood there, looking at your stupid, happy face before sighing.
And then he played.
Oh, how beautifully did he play. It was as if he had the soul of Vivaldi, Paganini and Mozart in him. One could've easily had an eargasm listening to his fingers play the strings.
Dabi rolled his eyes as he saw you looking at him in awe. In reality, he was internally gloating.
After a few minutes, you stood up. Dabi continued to play, his eyes trained on you as you slowly began to dance.
Ballet- well you tried to do ballet, you were pretty awful at it, but for some reason, it made his heart swell.
You started doing pirouettes (ballet spins) around him, and obviously, slipped and fell on him. Dabi caught you, dropping the violin as he hugged you to his chest, falling down as the grass cushioned your fall. You laughed like a child, and Dabi looked at you like you were the most precious treasure in the world.
And when you stopped laughing and looked at Dabi who was staring at you with utter adoration.
"Dabi?" You called, with a giggle.
And then he kissed you.
Your lips were just as soft as he'd imagined, just as sweet as he'd wished for. When he pulled away, your eyes were remained closed for a few seconds longer, lips still parted.
A smile slowly formed on your lips.
"Wow." You breathed out. And then you kissed him again.
Safe to say, you two began dating. Dabi was in complete bliss, not that he'd ever admit it, but everyone noticed how happy he was. The nurses commented on it, saying he looked healthier and happier, but Dabi would just shrug and tell him that perhaps the drugs were working.
Fast forward to 2 years later, Dabi is chasing you through the hospital corridors. Your laughter echoed through the hallways, and he slowed down a bit because of how happy it made you to make him chase you. You called for Dabi to catch you if he wants a kiss.
"Hurry! You're gonna have to catch me if you want a kiss-!" In a second, Dabi had his arms around you, lifting you up and pushing you against the wall as he slammed his lips against you.
He didn't move away until you were slapping at him to let you have air. You gasped, as Dabi smiled.
"I win."
Later that day, he's talking to his psychiatrist. Dabi doesn't talk much to the doctor, but today, he decided to open up his heart.
"I'm in love."
The doctor nods. "Is it love? Or are you just physically attracted-"
"I want to marry her. She... she makes everything make sense. Makes the voices in my head stop too, but I guess I have to give some credit for that to your drugs too." Dabi chuckled. "The satisfaction, the pleasure, the peace I used to get from hurting people- I find it all when I put my head in her lap."
"Yeah? Well, who's the lucky lady?"
"Y/n. She visits a relative here-" Dabi stopped speaking as he saw the doctor's face fell. "What? What's wrong?"
"Dabi... Y/n's dead." Dabi's eyes bulged out.
"What the fuck are you saying?" An angry vein popped out on hid forehead. If this fucking clown thinks he can get away with that kind of sick joke-
"Y/n's dead, Dabi. She's been dead for 5 years. You killed her. You were drunk driving and you two had an argument and you drove into another car. She died after you crawled out of the car and watched her burn to death in your car. The paramedics later found that she was 8 weeks pregnant. Now, yhe sooner you accept that, the sooner we can begin working on your treatment-" the doctor was cut off as Dabi began beating him to pulp.
Had it not been for the staff outside, the poor doctor would not have survived.
They had put Dabi in a straitjacket and locked him away in his room as he continued to cry and scream in agony.
You couldn't be dead. You couldn't be dead. You couldn't be dead-
How was he supposed to just accept that he had been imagining you all these years?
Tumblr media
3 years later, they finally let Dabi out. The drugs and therapy finally worked, and Dabi began returning to normalcy. His family welcomed him home with wide arms, and Enji even let him work with him in the office.
One day, when he was getting coffee, Dabi felt someone bump into him, making his breath hitch at the familiar face.
Y/n.
"Sorry!" You said, before turning back towards your friends.
"Y/n?" You whipped your head back to him.
"Sorry, do I know you?"
He didn't get a chance to say anything as you friends dragged you away.
By the end of the day, Dabi was able to find everything about you with Enji's resources.
You were Y/n, his Y/n. You had gotten into an accident 8 years back, with an unnamed passenger in the driver's seat (who he found out was him, but Enji had paid a lot of money to not have his son's name in the papers). You had managed to survive the car wreck, but as the hospital records state, you'd lost your memory.
But you were still his Y/n.
And he was gonna get you again. And also find out who tf paid that doctor to lie to him?
"Sir. These were dropped by a stranger for you." His assistant said, putting a manila envelope on his desk.
It was from the private investigator he'd hired. Pictures of you in your daily routine.
Oh, will you look at that? You're holding a little boy's hand. A boy, who had an uncanny resemblance to him, and the trademark Todoroki Clan's blue turquoise eyes.
Dabi smiled, caressing the picture.
He's gonna get his family back.

There was only one place in the Sanctuary that was private enough to let yourself have a little cry. Only one, and you thought you were the only one who knew about it.
Turns out, you weren't.
"My, oh my," you heard a familiar voice call out, getting closer with every second. "What do we have here?"
You wiped at the lone tear that had been busily making its way down your cheek, plastered on a smile and turned around. Of course, it was Negan. You'd recognise that voice anywhere.
Oh- shit, it's Negan. You quickly dropped to your knees, lowering your eyes to the ground. You'd seen what the man had done to workers who disobeyed. You were decidedly not keen to follow in their footsteps.
"Oh, baby-" Negan's gloved right hand came down to turn your chin upwards, his expression rife with mock pity. "Are you cryin'? I know I'm a bad guy, but I'm not that bad."
You stifled a laugh, trying your damndest to not shy away from his touch.
"It's not you, Negan. It's-" you chewed into your lip. "My partner and I. We broke up."
Negan's mock-pity morphed into something that looked disturbingly like actual concern. Something not many saw from him.
"Honey, are you- shit, do you need to talk about it or somethin'? I'm not the best listener, but I can try." Negan lowers his hand from your chin and looks around in that decidedly Negan-esque fashion. "I don't see anyone else coming to your rescue. Come on, up now. A thing so pretty as you doesn't need to be in the mud."
You rose, dusting off your knees as best you could.
"I, uh. I don't need to talk about it, thanks." You reply with a tight smile. "Just maybe need a bit of a distraction."
Negan's gaze flits between your eyes for a moment, considering your words carefully. Considering the meaning behind them.
"Good thing for you, then," he says, leaning in a little closer, his voice dropping a little lower. "I like distractions."
It takes barely a second before your eyes are dilating at the thought of what this man could do to you. You'd never lie and say you hadn't thought about it. Or lie and say you'd never touched yourself to the thought of him in the dead of night when your now ex-partner was out. Negan was attractive. Shit, he was downright gorgeous.
"I- okay," you whisper. No point in dragging it out. You knew you wanted it. He knew you wanted it.
"Well, okay then." Negan's voice appears by the shell of your ear, his tongue flicking out to lightly brush the underside of your lobe. You suck in a breath, almost let out a whimper.
Negan chuckles darkly, knowing exactly what he's done. What he's started.
Suddenly, Negan's gloved hand is resting on your bottom lip. Just his pointer and middle finger. Your gaze flickers to his, lips opening to take his fingers in. His grin widens. If that's possible.
"Would you be so kind as to remove that for me?" He drawls, other hand brushing up your side.
Your teeth close around the glove, tugging slowly and tentatively at first. His eyes are trained on the action, tongue swiping unconsciously over his bottom lip.
You bite down a little harder as he slides his fingers from the glove. As soon as his hand is free from the leather confines, his hand is on your throat. Not pressing, just holding.
You gasp in surprise and the glove falls to the grass in front of you, forgotten. He chuckles a little louder this time, having discovered something you like.
"Oh, my dirty girl. You like that, huh?"
You struggle to nod as he holds just a bit tighter, your airways only slightly constricting. Predatorily, he pushes you back until you hit a wall.
Negan's left hand comes down to rub at you through your panties, light enough to feel but not hard enough to get any real relief.
You whimper, pressing down onto his fingers.
Negan tuts and roughly pushes you back into the wall so you can't move.
"Don't you want to be good for me, darling?" He asks, eyebrows pulling down in mock concern. You try your best to nod. "Mm, I thought so. Be a good girl for me."
You stop trying to rub yourself against his fingers and he grins. A wide-toothed wolf's grin.
"That's better."
You bite on your bottom lip hard enough to feel the pressure as he continues to tease you. This goes on for a few more minutes, him whispering filthy things into your ear. Fingers flexing against your throat.
It must be once you let out a frustrated whimper that he decides to have mercy on you. His fingers move in tight circles, pressing against you in earnest where you need it. He lets out a real laugh then, dark and hoarse.
Despite his fingers rubbing against you in a way that is so effective, you would think it would only come from someone else with a clit, it's not enough.
You're getting closer but it's just... not enough.
"Greedy baby, huh?" He asks, nipping at your ear. "That's okay. We have time."
Negan readjusts his fingers on you and without preamble shoves two fingers inside, delighting at the open-mouthed shameless moan that climbs its way out of your mouth. His thumb continues his assault on your clit.
"Now, I'm a patient man," he says, voice lifting for effect. "But you? I know you want it, darling. I know you want to cum for me."
Your eyes crack back open to find him watching you intently, eyes glinting. His fingers curl suddenly, making you choke out a whimper.
"Negan-I-" your voice cuts off in another moan when his thumb changes pace.
"Yeeees?" He asks, knowing damn well what you were about to say. His fingers slow down just to draw it out a little more.
"Fuck, I'm gonna cum-" you rush out, hips starting to buck uncontrollably.
"Yes you are," he replies. "You are gonna cum all over my hands, aren't you?"
You can't even nod your agreement. His fingers tighten around your throat to all but cut off your air supply, his fingers piston your slick cunt, thumb grinding against your clit mercilessly.
"Cum for me, right now-" he growls. "Or not at all."
With that, the coil in your gut snaps, heat pulsing around his fingers. You realise in the haze that he's let go of your throat, allowing air back into your lungs. He laughs as you greedily suck air back in, moaning against him.
It's another minute or two before you come down, hips spasming.
"Now that," he chuckles, sucking air in through his teeth. "Is what I call a distraction."

Chapter 35 Can’t catch me now
Tumblr media
Final chapter of Cherry
A/N: Thank you, I’m going to cry now that it’s over
Warning- FLUFF, mentions of pregnancy and birth complications, angst, and swearing
Takes place during- The final chapters special 2
Pairing- Jean Kirstein x fem!reader
————
What does he mean by talk?
Does he have a girlfriend back in Marley? One Connie, Levi, or Pieck mentioned?
Or maybe he’s going to say that he’s totally just over you. He doesn’t love you anymore.
You can’t take it, the anxiety is killing you.
“You look nice,” you interject and hide your nervousness well. “I like your hair, it’s different, it’s good.” You peer over your shoulder and flash Jean a smile.
He meets your gaze and a soft smirk tugs on his lips. “Thanks. You look nice now—I mean you look beautiful, but nice because the last time I saw you, you looked—”
“Bad?” You say to him with a small teasing smile.
Jean squints and parts his lips to argue, but you cut in again.
“It’s okay, it’s true,” you assure him. “I was in a bad place. Now I’m not. I’m okay now. Better than good actually, I’m great.”
You slide the door open to a secluded cabin on the train and walk in first before he follows you inside and closes the door behind him, letting you finally face each other.
“So I’ve read,” he says.
You study his handsome face and smile wider. “You look very nice. Is that okay to say?” You ask to get what you want to know from him. “Or should I hold back because of a special someone?” You wiggle your eyebrows and hope it isn't true.
Jean scoffs and shakes his head. “Nah…I tried it,” he admits, and you feel your heart clench—“but none of them worked out, I guess,” he rolls out and glances at the ground as he puts his hands in his pockets. “They weren’t you.”
Your heart skips a beat and your eyes widen. “What?” You gasp with disbelief.
Jean looks up at you and exhales deeply before he pulls his hands out and strides over to you with confidence. “I know I’ve been an ass and not written, but I wanted to give you space.”
“Jean,” you try to interject, but he grabs your shoulders and looks at you with a soft look that makes your face begin to burn.
“Listen okay?” He continues and looks into your eyes. “I love you, I always will no matter what, but I don’t want to just be your friend. I can’t be just a friend. I can be your best friend if we’re together, but I can’t live my life and pretend that we didn’t live a life together. That I didn’t love you with my entire being. I can't do that, I'm not that big of a person.”
Tears fill your eyes, but they’re not born from an ache, they’re tears of disbelief and shock.
“So,” he goes on softly and slowly places his hands on your cheeks. “That’s why I'm saying it now, it might be brazen and too much for you, but it’s the truth and if I didn’t say it I would be bothered and mean, you don’t deserve that. And well,” he sighs. “Too much shit has happened for us to be patient, and I’m afraid that if I continue to be patient, I won’t be able to say what has been stuck in my throat for years.”
You smile softly and gently slide your hands over to hold his arms. “Jean,” you whisper. “I love you. I do. I never stopped loving you. I never thought about anyone else but you, but,” you cut in and make his breath falter. “You can’t rush into this. We’ve hardly talked over the past 3 years, I don’t know you anymore. You don’t know me. We know a past of each other, but not who we turned into. You understand? I mean what if you don’t even like who I am now? I don’t want you to waste your time with me, I—”
“Shut up,” Jean cuts you off and pulls you closer to him, making your breath hitch and your eyes fall on his lips—“Just shut up you’re talking nonsense. All you’re saying is crap because I do know you,” he says. “I’ve read all the letters you sent me. All the letters you sent our friends, and I’m looking at you now and all I see is my future. I’ve fought for a long time, I know life isn’t long, and I don’t want to wait. We can get to know each other as we date. Just please be with me. I miss you.”
Your bottom lip trembles and all you feel is your heart race as butterflies flutter like crazy inside you.
Your life doesn’t feel complete because Levi still isn’t with you, but you feel safe and like the stars finally returned to orbit to give light to the world. Yes, you did heal from your deep wounds without him, you couldn’t have him with you, but the one thing that didn’t change throughout it all was your feelings for him; they burn just as hot, and drive you just as crazy as the first time.
“I miss you too,” you redirect sweetly. “I love you too. I’ve only loved you, I will only love you. I can’t love anyone else but you,” you confess, making him smile and lean in.
Yet just as you’re going to relish in the taste of his lips finally on yours, a knock raps on the door.
“Y/N?”
Eric?
Eric!
“What do you want?” You sneer and don’t bother to open the door right away.
“Ben is looking for you. He says it’s urgent.”
You groan and look at Jean one last time. “Let’s continue this later, hm?” You ask.
Jean sighs deeply and has no choice but to give in. “Fine. Just,” he trails off and slams his lips on yours to give you one quick but deep kiss before he pulls back to open the door for you.
“Hey man,” Eric greets Jean with a smug smile.
You storm out of the room and Eric follows after you.
“Why are you still mad, huh? Did I interrupt something?”
When you step out to the main cabin you stop in front of Ben and quickly interject. “What do you want?”
Ben looks away from Reiner and slowly looks at you with concern. “Do you have an extra pack of cigarettes? I left mine in my other coat.”
You clench your fist and give him a tightlipped smile. “That was urgent?” You say through gritted teeth.
Ben nods and glances at Jean sitting down before looking back at you and giving you a cheeky smile. “Yes.”
“I do not carry cigarettes because the last box you had me carry you finished last week. Am I done now?” You sneer. “Or?”
Ben glances at Eric sitting down next to him and they share a look before he nods. “Yeah.”
You let out a deep huff and turn to return to your seat. Jean tries to settle down next to you, but you quickly throw your arms over the empty seat. “Sorry, this seat is taken,” you let him know sweetly.
Jean turns and looks at you with a pointed look. “What do you mean? It’s empty,” he points out.
“It’s Honey’s seat,” you sass him. “She demands to have her own seat. Sorry.” You smile and point at the seat across from you “You can sit there. Mikasa is with Armin. And Eric—”
Just as you say his name your brother slides in the seat across from you as if trying to cockblock Jean from even looking at you.
“…is there,” you finish under your breath and then look back at Jean still baffled by your cat's privileges.
“You’re not serious,” Jean retorts.
“She’s so serious,” Eric rebuttals for you. “Her cat thinks it’s royalty or something. It’s weird.”
Jean glances at your brother and then at the empty seat, and is going to ignore you, but just as he’s going to sit down, your brown cat comes over and hops back on her seat next to yours. She sees Jean too close so she looks at him with her green eyes and lets out a long meow.
“See,” you exclaim with a smirk. “Her own seat. I don’t make the rules.” You shrug.
Jean rolls his eyes and picks up the cat, making her let out an annoyed meow.
“I bought you damn thing now hold it before I accidentally sit on it,” he sasses and plops the cat on your lap as you watch him sit down with bewilderment.
Over the past 2 years, you've been breaking your head wondering, and constantly asking Levi and the others to reveal who gifted you the cat, but no one would say a thing.
Sure sometimes you did think Jean was the one, but since he barely wrote you back he quickly fell off that list. For some time you thought it was Reiner since he seemed to still be fawning over you, but he would’ve said it, so your guess was Levi or Mikasa, but they never said a thing so you were left wondering for 2 years. And now you finally know, and you should’ve known.
“You got her for me?” You probe softly as you hold onto Honey.
Jean drifts his gaze to the corner of his eyes and looks at you as if it’s no big deal. “Yeah,” he responds nonchalantly. “Made Mikasa pick her out to give it to you.”
You scoff softly in disbelief and lean closer to him. “Why didn’t you say so?” You press him.
Jean shrugs. “I was. The cat is a…apology present for how I acted before you left, but then at the last minute,” he sighs. “I chickened out and thought it was better if you didn’t know until I saw you.”
Your heart skips a beat and your smile tugs to a grin before you quickly let go of the cat to lean over and throw your arms around Jean.
It's kind of an awkward hug since you're sitting side by side, but you still hold onto him.
“Thank you,” you whisper softly and gently run your fingers through the ends of his hair, making him shiver and squeeze you gently.
“I knew you'd like it,” he whispers in your ear as he tilts his head closer to you to draw in a small breath as he catches a whiff of your fragrance clinging to your skin. “You smell nice,” he shares.
You smirk and slide your hands down to feel his biceps hiding under his suit. “You do too,” you redirect smugly before you pull back and hug your cat again.
“You know,” Eric adds and taps the table in between you and him. “Back in the city, there’s this guy named Fedric, who is heads over heels for my sister here.”
“Eric,” you try to cut him off.
“No, no, just listen,” he ignores you and smirks. “He’s, like, tall, and buff and has crazy blue eyes. I’m telling her to give it a shot, but she refused. Maybe, you,” he points at Jean. “Can advise her otherwise, considering you’re her best friend.” He shrugs.
You glare at your brother and kick him in the shin under the table, he flinches, but he keeps on a straight face.
“Why don’t you date him,” Jean rebuttals sassily. “Considering the way you’re describing him.”
You snort and smile at your brother, but Eric doesn’t share the same enthusiasm, he fakes laughs instead and mutters. “Funny, funny.”
You snicker at him and then turn to continue talking to Jean. “I hope you got enough sleep—”
“Hey!” Connie cuts in and slides into the empty seat next to Eric. “Does your cat have a diamond hanging off her collar, or am I going crazy?”
You lift your cat and nod. “Yeah, she does. Isn’t she so pretty?” You smile.
Connie squints and then he bursts out laughing. “You’re so weird! It’s a cat!”
You roll your eyes and set your cat down on your lap. “So?” You quip. “What's your point?”
“My point is that it’s an animal,” he explains himself. “It’s weird that you put that shit on her.”
You don’t get his point nor do you want to spend your time arguing, so you drop the subject and return to what you didn’t finish saying. “Anyway! I hope you guys got enough sleep, you guys have a busy schedule today. Plus, a little welcome back celebration hosted by me.”
“What?” Connie gasps.
You smile proudly and nod. “Yeah, after you get finished with all your introduction meetings, we’ll go get ready, have dinner, and then go to a cantina. How fun is that?” You exclaim.
“It was supposed to be a surprise,” Eric mutters. “Mikasa is going to get annoyed.”
You flick your wrist to wave him off. “It’s okay. I planned it. I couldn’t hold it in! There’s gonna be dancing, music, old military friends, new friends we’ve made, and drinks. It’s gonna be fun! And who knows Connie, maybe finally you’ll become a man tonight.” You smile sweetly and bat your lashes.
Connie snickers. “Cherry girl, I am a man. I left many ladies crying back in Marley.”
You scrunch your nose in disgust as you don’t find this funny anymore. “That’s gross.”
“You started it,” he snaps.
You groan and glance over at Jean to ask if it’s the same for him, but you catch him already looking at you with a soft smile on his face that makes you wonder.
“What?” You query.
Jean blinks in surprise as he snaps from his stupor, but he doesn’t grow flustered, or lose his smile, he simply shakes his head and interjects softly. “Nothing. You’ve just changed, that's all.”
Your face begins to burn and you’re the one that grows flustered now. “Well,” you whisper. “Yeah.” You laugh and nod. “Yeah. And you don’t stutter anymore. You used to stutter. Is it all the practice back in Marley?” You tease him.
Jean scoffs and grows cocky. “Natural talent, that's all.”
You giggle and shake your head. “Natural talent my ass. I know you, you’re not as smooth as you think you are.”
“Am so,” he quips and tries to slide his hand around your seat's headrest, but his arm slips and falls on your shoulders. He quickly tries to recover but it was too late you proved your point.
“Super smooth,” you say sarcastically.
Jean shrugs and nudges your shoulder with his fingers hovering over it. “You like it.”
You can't help but smile as you look away. And the moment you do you catch both Connie and Eric watching Jean and you with disgust, so you ignore their negativity and just look out the window with a happy smile on your face.
Levi is still missing but you feel content, and your heart feels at ease with the rest of your family finally back home.

*LATER THAT NIGHT*
After a long day of waiting for Jean and the others to go through their long meetings, and after a short and kind of chaotic dinner you’re finally living through the part of the night you’ve looked forward to all day, considering you weren’t in their dreadful meetings.
You can’t say that you can party like when you were a soldier—it’s not that you don’t enjoy it, you just can’t bring yourself to get your mind too clouded just in case, but! You do enjoy the music and the vibe!
You just have to back away when Connie and your brother Eric try to force more wine down your throat.
“Jean can do it, I believe you,” you throw him under so he can take your place.
“Hey! Hey!” Connie exclaims and points his finger at you. “Those are not the rules. Coin flipped on you, you, drink!”
He's incredibly drunk.
“Hey, hey!” Eric cuts in and stands up. “You can’t force my sister to drink!” He exclaims and faces Connie with a pointed look.
“Whoa—”
“I can! Drink girl!” He shouts at you and swings his cup at you, causing Connie to burst out laughing.
“That’s what I'm talking about!” Connie exclaims and jumps up to throw his arm around Eric, making them both sway.
You roll your eyes but you still can’t help but smile softly over the fact that they’re getting along well.
However, you use this moment that they’re distracted to back away and escape before they keep pressing you to drink, leaving Jean to deal with them instead.
Sure there’s only so many places to hide in a small place, but you keep moving in between the crowd and actually catch Armin and Mikasa trying to dance along to the music. However, they’re tipsy so it’s not going well.
And luckily they don’t notice you so you keep moving along, but stop when you spot Reiner all by himself in some secluded corner of the cantina.
You haven’t talked to him since he got here, and you’ve been meaning to. You’ve been dreading it but you want to talk to him—should you though?
Yes! You’ve grown up, matured, pondered, and had three years to be upset! You need to make peace with this. He’s the last piece left.
So you walk over to him and casually sit beside him as you keep your eyes on Mikasa and Armin dancing.
“There’s a lot of pretty women out there,” you interject and smile proudly upon seeing your cousin's joy—“Why aren't you dancing? Do you have a girlfriend back in Marley?”
Reiner scoffs. “No,” he mutters. “I can’t seem to find the right one…” he trails off and you feel his stare on you. “You, do you have a…boyfriend?” He whispers hesitantly.
You shake your head. “No, but…” you sigh and glance at Jean, and catch him looking back at you. “…I have my eye on someone.”
You smile at Jean and look away to finally look at Reiner who hasn’t taken his eyes off you.
“Hm,” he hums and averts his gaze to clear his throat before he changes the subject. “Uh, how are you? I mean with everything. The reason why you left,” he says.
You let out a deep breath and shrug. “I’m…fine,” you hesitate to answer. “I’m not angry anymore,” you mention and continue because regardless of other things, he was still there. Once. But enough to motivate you to escape.
“I have nightmares here and there, they won’t go away. And sometimes…it crawls up on me, the fear that someone is around trying to get me…but,” you sigh and smile softly. “I’m okay now. I’m actually doing quite a lot with Historia and my brothers for the Underground. So I’m good.”
A small smile crawls on Reiner’s lips and he nods softly. “That’s good. I’m happy for you,” he says softly and averts his gaze.
“Thank you,” you whisper and shift in your seat to face him with determination to finally address the one thing that matters between him and you. “Reiner.”
Said man slowly meets your gaze and seems to look hopeful.
“I…can forgive you,” you jump straight to the point so he doesn’t get some false expectations about where this is going. “I can forgive you for taking away my best friend. I can forgive you for looking me in the eye all those times and lying to me, I can forgive you because I don’t want to hate you. Because I don’t want that in my heart anymore, but,” exhale deeply and look at him with a long frown. “I won’t forget. I’ll never forget what you did. And I know it might be stupid maybe, petty, but you still lied, and you still took him away from me. He was my best friend. I loved him,” your voice quivers. “And I…liked you, and it hurt.”
Reiner looks as if he was just shot, even though he expected you to say this, your words still wound him and finally make him realize that he and you will always live in the past.
“I’m sorry,” he mutters and scoots forward, making you raise your chin and nod in comprehension.
“Yes, I know you are and I forgive you. I can see us maybe being friends, but nothing else,” you admit the truth. “Do you understand?” You probe so he can get the right idea and not be delusional.
“I,” he breathes out heavily. “I understand.”
You offer him a kind smile and nod. “Good. That’s all I wanted to hear.”
Reiner looks away and quickly cuts in bluntly. “Do you love him?”
You blink in confusion and follow his line of gaze to see him looking at Jean walking over here.
“I…do,” you respond honestly and look back at Reiner curiously. “Why?” You ask.
Reiner snaps his eyes to you and leans forward to grab your hand and offer you a small smile. “Does he make you happy?” He asks.
You laugh softly. “We aren’t together at the moment, but, yes…why?” You probe.
Reiner draws in a deep breath and his smile falters. “That’s all I ask. That’s all I want for you. Even if it’s not with me.”
A pitiful frown tugs on your face. “Reiner,” you whisper.
Said man tugs his smile wider. “I’m happy for you, y/n. I really am. I hope you get everything you want out of life.”
You genuinely smile and nod. “You too, Reiner,” you redirect kindly. “You deserve it.”
Reiner breathes hitches and his smile falters, but he doesn’t break. Especially because Jean reaches the table.
“Sorry, Reiner but I need to talk to y/n,” Jean cuts in, making you let go of Reiner’s hand to twist around slowly and look at him with a quirked brow.
“Need to?” You inquire.
Jean meets your gaze and nods. “I’m not asking. Let’s go.”
Your heart skips a beat and you offer Reiner one last smile before you follow Jean outside.
“What is this about?” You probe without waiting to be away from all the noise. “Are you going to propose to me after our first day back together?” You tease and glance up at the sky, noticing the thick clouds that are quickly rolling in across the canvas, but missing the way he slowly steals a look at you.
“You know,” you add with a smile. “It’s good you didn’t have a girlfriend because I visit your mom often and have occasional lunches with her. It'd be weird.”
Jean scoffs softly. “Well it’s not really your fault, she loves you,” he reminds you of the fact. “She’d be nagging you and me if you didn’t visit.”
You look down at him and smile softly. Jean holds your gaze, and you grow the need to remind him how much you missed him even though the only time you’ve been apart since he’s gotten back was when he was in a meeting room. “I’ve missed you, Jean. I’ve missed talking to you. I…I’ve missed you.”
Jean’s lips curl to a smile. “I’ve missed you too,” he doesn’t hesitate to return to you. “Now come on, just a bit further.”
You shoot him a puzzled look but don’t question him, you just hook your arm around his, and enjoy the peace in the silence at this time of night. You relish in the moist smell of incoming rain and smile at the feeling of his surreal presence.
“You know I think Ben really likes me,” Jean interjects making you look back at him. “Eric though…I think I need to work on him.”
You giggle. “Why?” You mess with him. “We aren’t dating or anything.”
Jean stops, forcing you to do the same and look at him with a playful smirk.
“No? So what are we then?” He quips.
You shrug. “You tell me,” you counter sweetly.
Jean swallows thickly and glances down before he grabs your face and leans in to slam his lips on yours, causing you to gasp softly out of shock, even though you crave the taste of his lips.
He then pulls away to cut off this interaction, but you pull him back in to really remind yourself of the feeling of his soft lips that desperately fall in sync with yours before he takes control and leads you in for an open-mouth kiss, as if he had been starving.
Then again you can’t say you’re any different, you throw your hands around his neck and run them up to clutch onto his hair to keep his mouth on yours as you tease him for a moment, before you slide your tongue over his bottom lip for him to take it in and suck on it as his hands grab onto your face.
You try to make a sound, but he takes your breath away and all you can manage to do is pull away to catch your breath, making him lean in to press gentle kisses on the corner of your mouth.
“Jean,” you whisper between pants.
Said man pulls back and licks his lips as he holds your gaze with a darkened gaze full of lust. “What about now?” He rebuttals. “Do you know what we are now?”
You glance at his lips and smirk as you shrug again. “Tell me.”
Jean grabs your chin and tilts your head up so you can meet his gaze. “You’re mine,” he clarifies. “No amount of space or time ever changed that. Sure I was upset, but I was stupid, and now I know you leaving was for the best,” he admits. “Because look at you. I’m proud of you, my love.”
Your eyes water and your smile trembles as your heart fills with bliss.
“And I like to think I’m a better man too,” he continues. “I’ve grown, matured, and I’m finally ready for a commitment that I was not ready for then.”
You grin and he leans in to press a soft kiss on your forehead before he steps back and slides his hand down to grab yours and tug you with him. “Come,” he points up the road.
However, just as you take a step in that direction drops of rain begin to sprinkle down, making Jean stop and look up.
“We have to hurry,” he cuts in.
Alas, that sprinkle changes to a pour that makes Jean let your hand go and drop his head.
“What?” You quire and grab his arm. “What's wrong? It’s just rain.”
Jean slowly looks up and shakes his head with an annoyed look on his face. “No,” he argues. “I had this entire thing planned with the stars, flowers, and all the stuff you like, but it’s ruined now because of the rain!”
You glance up up but quickly look back down when rain falls in your eyes, and beam at Jean through the thick raindrops. “I like the rain! I like the sound, and I like the sight of it when the light reflects over it for a second before it hits the ground!” You assure him through the pattering. “So, it’s okay!”
You tug him to continue forward, but he doesn’t budge, instead, he stays there and you notice his lips are parted and he’s looking at you with a softened gaze that makes you confused.
“What?” You ask. “What’s wrong?”
Jean's smile wobbles before he blurts, “marry me!”
Your confusion falls and you gasp.
Jean continues to grab your hands and falls on one knee. “I-I know this is our first day back together, we have a lot to catch up on, but I don’t want to waste any more of my time without you,” he exclaims. “I love you. Deeply. I can’t imagine my life without you in it, actually, every time I picture my life, you’re in it. I want to spend the future we fought so hard for to be spent with you. Forever. So please…marry me,” he whispers.
You wipe the tears and the rain off your face, but it’s pointless because more tears and rain stream down your face, leaving you drenched. So you just proceed to throw yourself on him and cry on his shoulder out of pure joy your heart is oozing out.
“Yes,” you cry happily. “I do. I want to spend my life with you too! I want forever with you.” You pull back and grab his wet face, “I love you, Jean Kirstein. You are my sun, you are my moon and my stars. Without you, it’d be like living underground in the dark again. So yes, I want forever with you too.”
Tears mix with the rain on Jean's face and his smile turns to a wide grin before he seals your distance with a passionate kiss, assuring you both of your desires.
——
*15 YEARS LATER*
The air underground isn’t as thick and suffocating as it once was. That stench of moisture, piss, and dirt has somewhat disappeared—that or you’ve grown used to the smell after thirty years.
Then again you would have heard complaints by now if it reeked under here. They wouldn't have kept quiet about that.
Regardless, the darkness underground doesn’t lurk in every corner like before. The houses that once stood tall are left abandoned and only used for criminals and the homeless.
6 years ago thanks to Historia’s help, your brothers, and you were finally able to give everyone a better life they deserve, a chance to live a longer life and not be stuck underground because of greedy people who got your ancestors stuck down here in the first place. Now only criminals run their businesses down here in a crumbling abandoned society.
And the only reason you’re down here is because you want to show your children where you and Levi were born, and that life can be tough but you can move past it, like Levi and Furlan did with you and their lives. Sure your kids don’t like the idea of being down here in a dirty place, they’re used to the sun on their skin, the grass under their toes, and the wind unfurling over their flesh. All they grew up with was a life of full bellies, common colds under warm beds, and attainable medicine. Jean nor you ever let them know suffering.
“When are we leaving? Eirene is coming over today!” You hear your first complaint, and of course, it’s from your six-year-old daughter, Star. She’s just like Jean. Even if Levi says she’s Kenny’s twin, in both appearance and personality.
Which, you don’t know if you should be offended by that or not. He’s your father, but there were also many things wrong with him.
“Aunt Mikasa and your cousin Eirene are not coming over until way later,” you correct Star. “We’ll be back home by then, so,” you sigh. “Why don’t you come help your grandpa here, hm?”
Levi peers over at you with a side glare, so you counter with a smirk.
“Okay!” Star exclaims and leaves her father's side to run over and throw herself on Levi’s lap which is the opposite of what you wanted her to do.
“Girl,” you argue, “that’s not—”
“It’s okay,” Levi cuts you off. “She’s fine.”
“Yeah,” Star groans and lays her head back against Levi’s shoulder. “He’s too heavy, I can’t push him. My arms will break! They almost did so yesterday.”
Jean and you share a teasing look, and just as you're going to play along, someone else cuts in.
“That’s impossible! You can’t break your arms by pushing a wheelchair, isn’t that right, pa?”
Levi shrugs. “I don’t know Lucian, I saw it happen once. But I also saw someone’s hands fall off because they were lazy.”
Lucian, your ten-year-old snickers, whilst Star’s jaw drops.
“That’s impossible,” she argues this time with a pout. “Right…dad?” She peers over at the man walking by your side and her blue eyes fill with worry.
Yet he does a horrible job at consoling her in between his stifled laughs. “Yeah,” he assures her. “Not true…maybe.”
Star sees through his mask hiding his stifled laugh and glares at him before she turns around and hugs Levi’s neck.
“You need a better poker face,” you scold Jean. “You suck and I’m a bad liar.”
Jean clears his throat and shifts the baby in his arms to his other side to let his eyes fully take you in. “I didn’t start it.”
“Yeah and we both know she can’t take it,” you rebuttal.
Jean laughs at the ground before he looks at the baby on his hip to offer her a teasing smile.
“No one appreciates a good joke do they?” He talks to the 8-month-old baby watching him with her deep brown eyes wide-eyed, and full of curiosity. “Will you?” He asks and scratches her little chin, making her laugh.
You smile in awe and grab his arm to lean over towards your baby. “Is your daddy being mean to you, Marceline? Tickling your cute chins, hm?”
The baby coos and stretches her fat arms over to try and grab you, but Jean hugs her against him so you wouldn’t take his little girl from him.
Marceline squeals and pushes herself up to hook her arms around his neck, making Jean press a kiss on her tiny dark curls.
And it seems she knows the reaction she got and what it means because she snuggles her face in the crook of his neck like she tends to do when he gives her any kind of affection. She just loves Jean, even if he and you aren't her biological parents.
Actually, you adopted her not so long ago, six years after the doctor told you that having a third baby would kill you due to your weak immune system. That was actually the reason why you were left in a bad state for weeks after you had Star.
Jean said he didn't want to put your life at risk and live through his worst fear, so you opted for adopting a few months back. And albeit you did worry that she wouldn’t be able to bond with either of you because of the lack of blood connection, you were proven wrong; the three of you instantly connected, and Star and Lucian didn't fail to do the same. Albeit it did take Star some time to get used to her new sister…she…hated her for some time.
But now! She adores her, even if she gets jealous of all the attention the baby gets.
“That’s no fair,” you complain and hug your husband's arm. “She likes you better.”
Jean turns his head to drop his eyes on you and shakes his head with a smirk tugging on his lips nonetheless. “You know that’s not true...but, it’s probably true.”
You know well it’s all a joke, you just like to tease him like now as you roll your eyes, and he reacts by throwing his other arm around your shoulders to keep you at his side the closer you get to your destination.
“But,” Jean whispers. “You’re my favorite girl.”
You can’t help the smile that tugs on your lips, and your heart from skipping a beat. “Good save,” you retort and slide your arm around his waist. “Smooth.”
Jean chuckles lightly. “Always am.”
You giggle and pull away to skip ahead when you approach the rock. The special rock under the gap on the ground that welcomes the sun inside, that was once a shining hope for Levi, Furlan, Isabel, and you.
“We’re here,” you announce proudly and turn to face your family.
Star studies the area and when she sees nothing but dirt and a rock, she scrunches her nose in disgust. “Ew,” she groans.
“Star,” Lucian scolds her. “That’s not nice.”
Your daughter ignores her brother and interjects. “What is this?”
You spin around and rush over to climb on the rock, finding it easier to climb it than when you were a little girl.
“This!” You exclaim happily. “Is a window into my past when Levi and I lived down here.”
You proceed to look around and see that a part of the ceiling has caved in so the gap is more like a decline that lets you come and go outside as you please, and that lets the sunlight shine brighter inside than ever before.
“Why here?” Lucian asks out of genuine curiosity.
“Well,” you sigh. “Back when I was young, people who lived underground couldn’t just go above ground. We needed special permits to live up there. And a lot of people here didn’t have the money, or the right connections to get those, so the only piece we had of the outside world was through gaps. Just like this one.”
Lucian glances up at the gap, making his light brown eyes gleam because of the sun's beam casting inside.
“You’d be here too, Pa?” Star asks Levi.
“Hm,” he agrees and picks up Star to get off his chair and walk towards the rock. “Your mom would love coming here. So we tried to come every weekend.”
Star stares hard at the gap, and Lucian finally breaks away from his spot to climb on with you.
“Do you think Uncle Eric and Uncle Ben came here?” Lucian asks.
You shrug as you take a seat. “I don’t know. We’ll have to ask….what do you think of this?”
Lucian studies his surroundings and he’s not as brazen as Star, you can see the wheels behind his turning as he tries to figure out something nice to say.
“It’s not the best place, not what you’re used to,” you whisper. “But you see that?” You point at the puddle of water across the rock. “At night when the moonlight hits here, all the puddles glimmer, and in the spring, because of the rain, clovers, moss, and wildflowers sprout on the dirt under the gap, and on the rock. In the winter, snow collects inside and people would come to enjoy it even if it was cold.”
Lucian looks at you and flashes you a sweet smile. You grin at him and ruffle his light brown hair.
“I don’t get it,” Star interjects.
“There’s nothing to get,” Levi rebuttals.
Star groans and drops out of Levi’s arms to run to the decline and look up at the sky for a moment before she smiles and runs above ground.
“Sorry,” Jean says as if it’s his fault she doesn’t get the appeal, but you’re glad she doesn’t.
“Well,” Lucian struggles to say. “It’s nice.”
You laugh softly and without having to be told you point your head outside. “You can go too.”
Lucian's eyes widen with guilt, so you offer him an assuring smile. “Go,” you insist. “It’s okay. We’ll be out in a minute.”
Lucian grins at you and quickly slides off the rock to chase after his sister and leave this cave.
“Well I think Marceline likes it,” Jean interjects and stands at the side of the rock.
You look down and just as you’re going to comment, a distant cry breaks in the air, and you know it comes from Star, so Jean and you share a knowing look.
“I’ll go,” he says. “Take the baby.”
You drag yourself to the edge and reach down to take the baby from Jean’s arms.
“Mommy! Daddy!” Star cries out, making Jean shout back.
“I’m goin’!”
You watch Jean jog out of the cave, and lose his figure when he’s above ground. You keep quiet and wait until you don’t hear Star stop crying when Jean tends to her to look down at your baby girl.
“You like it?” You ask her.
Marceline blinks and then begins to gnaw on her own fist.
“Cute,” Levi deadpans.
You snort and look back at him, and catch him carefully climbing up to join your side and look up at the blue sky thousands of miles above you.
“They don’t get it,” he says softly.
You turn Marceline around and let out a soft sigh. “No,” you say. “But I’m glad they don’t…it means we did good…right?”
Levi slides his hands in his pockets and nods in agreement. “Yeah. You did.”
“We did,” you correct him. “You won this war too. We did good. They don’t have to find beauty in this cave to try and stay hopeful. We fought for that.”
Levi hums and peers are you. “Why did you ask if you already know the answer?” He asks with a small smile.
You shrug. “I just wanted your opinion, but I should’ve known better.” You laugh softly and watch the sun ray that shines over the rock, and catch a beautiful orange and black monarch butterfly flutter inside.
“Would you look at that?” You muse to Marceline.
The baby is obvious to the insect until it surprisingly lands on her arm and startles her.
“It’s okay,” you coo. “It won’t hurt you.”
Marceline begins to breathe heavily as her eyes stay trained on the butterfly, but then she abruptly reaches for it.
Luckily though you catch her arm before she can snatch the delicate creature. “Careful,” you warn her sweetly and with a laugh. “Gentle. You have to be kind,” you whisper. “Remember that?”
Marceline shrieks and scares the butterfly away. She doesn’t let that discourage her though and squeals as she leans over to try and capture the butterfly already too far from her grasp.
“It’s gone,” you tell her. “Why don’t you say goodbye, Hm? Goodbye, butterfly.”
Marceline stays quiet for a moment as her eyes follow the butterfly out of the cave. And only once it’s out does she begin to open and close her hand as she mumbles. “Buh-byyy.”
You giggle and nod. “Yes! Good!” You encourage her and look up at Levi with pride before you look back at your daughter as she keeps her hand out as she notices the sunlight dancing on her chubby fingers.
“That’s the sun,” you let her know and put your own palm out.
Marceline glances at the sun on your palm and slaps her hand against yours as if trying to capture it.
“No, silly,” you interject. “It’s the sunlight. You can’t get it. Trust me I’ve tried.”
Marceline studies her hand and slowly turns it before putting her palm over yours so the sun would kiss her hand again.
“Sunlight,” try to make her say it. “Sunlight.”
Marceline giggles and doesn’t dare move her hand so the sun can keep clinging onto her, making you look at her with pride, whilst Levi looks down at the both of you in awe.
This is all he wanted. For you to have a good life, to be happy.
You have that now and much more. He sees that every day and all he can feel is pride and awe for you. He feels grateful that you had a chance to have the world. And yes, it started a bit painful, you knew suffering for some time, but you have all he wanted you to have, love, a future, a legacy, pure joy, and hope and he’s grateful for that every day he sees you.
However, what brings the most pride is that he kept his promise to Kenny, and himself, he took care of you. And that’s why you are and will always be his favorite achievement. You are his pride, his joy, and his hope. Forever.

₍₍ GOOD LUCK CHARM ₎₎
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
{read part 2}
PAiRiNG ?! childhoodfriend!kylian x black!femreader
GENRE ?! romance , angst if you have 30/30 vision
SYNOPSiS ?! based on the prompt "you still wear that little bracelet i made you?" "it's like my good luck charm.." by @novelbear because i need fuel rn haha 😞
A/N ?! i was listening to infrunami by steve lacy while writing this, if it's too fluffy im sorry blame him. i think i need to stop writing in 2nd person pov cos it's NOT IT. so yh, this isn't good BUT i feed my consumers so yuuuuurp, HERE YOU GO 💀
~°~
if someone had told 8 year old you that your friendship with kylian, in all its deep-rootedness and proclamations of 'forever's, would meet its demise just short of your 17th birthday, you would've cackled like the wicked witch of the west herself, bearing your gapped teeth in complete humour.
your bond was imperishable, derived from unyielding interlocked hands and taut, warm hugs that you longed to ever drown into. everybody knew, if kylian was there, you would be stood right beside him as if you were his right hand man- no, but you were.
his second mother, you were called; as sweet as he was, he was hardheaded and stubborn, and there was never a week that didn't go by where you weren't, even as young as you were, chastising him for having an unrelenting mouth or fisted hands. it was his nature, no matter how much you told him to stop and he vowed that he would, but it made him, kylian, so really and truly, there was nothing that could be done.
as you both matured, entered highschool with newfound tribulations that you swore you would conquer together, you began to realise that maybe, he had priorities that, inevitably, meant that your time together was diminishing. it was glaringly palpable, to him, to you, and everyone that was on the outside looking in.
but you could see just how much he tried balancing the two. football and you, occupied so much space in his life that dropping one would leave a gaping intrusion, begging to be whole again. so, after evening training, you two found yourselves basking in the soft buzz of the 20th hour within the confinement of your room, music droning in the back with a gentle hum. it was times like this that made you appreciate kylian; just a growing boy from bondy, fighting to make a name for himself in something he loved so much, yet still had time for you. his other half, as he called you. it made your heart swell everytime.
"kylian, i swear, if you've taken the last é-"
he was quick to defend himself, "look! i took e not é." he showed you the small bead and you hummed in approval. he rolled his eyes, "always quick to accuse me of shit."
you gasped, taking a pillow and throwing it his head. he screeched, quick to rip it off him.
"no swearing, you know that! my mum's gonna hear you."
he looked down, noticing that his efforts had been chewed and spat right back out, "[y/n], you ruined my bracelet!"
you shrugged, continuing yours, "sorry, not sorry."
his glare was evident in your peripheral and you tried to hold back your laugh.
"if this is so funny to you," he threw the empty threaded strand unto the carpet, "i'm not doing it anymore."
he knew he had gotten to you as he noticed your eyes widen, stopping the task at hand.
"bro! i'm not gonna have one then, that's not fair!"
he snickered, "should've thought about that first." his arms were crossed, smirking.
you debated whether or not to stop and leave you both bracelet-less, or sacrifice your dignity and apologise. in the end, the latter ruled the verdict; this was something cute that you both hadn't done in a while, and this ocassional get together was supposed to be fruitful.
"fine, i'm sorry."
he grinned, picking up the string once again to begin his, "there you go, wasn't that hard, was it?"
you gave him a look, muttering his words as you mimicked him before saying, "just continue the damn thing."
2 hours later and you were sure enough to say that your fingers were absolutely aching, kylian vocalising his pain. god, were his whines so irritating.
"kylian, please just give me your wrist," you sighed. he shuffled closer to you, arm stretched out. you tied yours securely, making sure to keep the word you had put facing down. you both agreed to make it a suprise.
with his tightly tied to your skin, in which he later had to loosen due to your discomfort, you counted down before sliding them against your wrists to see.
"chef? that's cute," you beamed. it didn't matter that you were younger than him, you were always telling him what to do, and he had always jokingly called you 'boss'.
he smiled back at you, but then it fell as he looked at his, "[y/n]?"
you struggled to hold back your giggles, "what? you don't like it?"
he looked at you from the corner of his eyes, "petit frèrot? really? out of everything you could've used, you used that?"
laughing, you gripped his wrist, turning it to look at it yourself, "it suits you, kylian!"
"i'm not shorter than you anymore," he whined. it was a memory he hated being brought to light; you always had an inch or two on him up until you both hit 14, and somehow, you remained stunted yet he had grown to be a whole head taller than you.
"it's for... memory's sake, ky."
"i don't want to wear it."
you frowned, "don't be stupid, kylian. you're never taking it off."
his tone is indignant, "don't be too sure about that."
+_-
it may be fraying and fuzzed at the edges. it may be fading, colours that were once bright and vivid now ghosted and phantom, but you swore that if it was ever cut off, it would be the end of you too.
yes, you both no longer talked. it was an occurence so vigorously impactful that even your parents had ceased contact because if their kids didn't talk, why should they?
you knew that with the life that kylian had planned for himself, as much you both ignored it, there was no space in it for you. he had to travel to play in clubs that didn't reside within the borders of paris, or even france. your academics strangled you with deadlines and projects that had you begin to fade into the distance of kylian's mind, so he couldn't take the full blame for it. you were the reason why too, and you wished you had fought harder to sustain such a friendship.
no hard feelings were established, you presumed. the drift was gradual and something that couldn't be helped. you knew kylian wouldn't hate you, and he knew you wouldn't either.
you kept your tabs on him, however. he didn't know where you were anymore, hell if you were even alive, but with a name as big as messi's and ronaldo's, you would've been living under rocks if you didn't know how he was fending.
once every few months, you search him up. you would see he was doing well, and you would smile, pained with nostalgia, fiddle with the aging bracelet that seemed to burn its imprint into your skin, and close the google tab. it wouldn't leave your mind for the next few weeks, but you didn't mind. as long as you knew he was okay, then you were too.
+_-
football, as much as it was your ex best friend's, wasn't your forte. you didn't know a single team to name, or a player that wasn't the two infamous rivals, so finding yourself, clad in the white jersey of real madrid was completely unusual nature.
"it'll be fun, [y/n]," your friend had urged. it wasn't the first time kalani had begged you to watch a game of her favourite team, but this time, you decided to give in to her pleas and see for yourself.
"sure," you stated dismissively. you needed these 3 hours to pass as quick as they could, essays weren't going to write themselves.
the stadium atmosphere was suffocating, to be entirely honest. it was filled to the absolute brim with the blue and white opposing colours, to which you had no idea which team the blue was supposed to represent. you were only here for support, not the experience.
you could see the players training and preparing themselves on the pitch, seriousness punctured with banter and playful chasing. it reminded you of kylian again. you smiled at that thought.
then, as if time itself were a blur, kick off had started and instantaneously both team were hungry for the ball. you were, of course, rooting for madrid, and everytime the ball was in their possession, couldn't fight down the urge to scream with passion. it was like football had ignited something deep and buried within you, and it took you back to the days were you were screaming for kylian to score until your voice grew hoarse and dessicated.
+_-
you didn't even support the damned team yet you were completely drunk off victory. won with 2 goals to your name and the smile that had found its way unto your and kalani's faces hadn't left.
in a haze of excitement and thrill, she had left you to go to the toilet. you had no idea where you were, and you thought the safest place to go was back to the entrance.
"fucking hell."
the stadium was bigger than you thought, and with your short memory span, you had found yourself lost. how you couldn't even get the exit was beyond you.
in the distance you heard a cluster of voices, and your brain immediately thought to go in that direction, where there was people, there was help. your steps were hurried, you're sure you looked absolutely frightened out of your mind, and you quickly take the sharp left, colliding into a body.
"oh shit- i'm so sorry," you hurried out apologies. the person in front of you was quick to stop you, "no, no, you're good."
you stilled. age did absolutely nothing to the distinct accent of his. and it's then you drank in the sight of him fully.
"kylian?"
his face morphed into one of familiarity and utter shock, then his eyes widened.
"no way- [y/n]?"
you airily chuckled, still stupified, "in the flesh, ky."
his arms were quick to take you in them, embrace muscled and strong. your arms wrapped around his neck as you swayed from side to side.
a cough from beside you dragged you both back down from your reverie.
"kylian? who's this?" their voice was playful and the man rolled his eyes, grinning widely.
"achraf, this is [y/n], my best friend from early-"
"until you ditched me."
"i did not," he defended.
achraf chuckled, "won't be surprised if he did."
you laughed wholeheartedly, kylian groaning at his two best friends tag teaming against him.
"you two literally just met," his gaze was on you, fully coming to terms with the fact that you were standing right in front of him. no longer 16, but now 8 years later, unrecognisable but in the best way possible.
"how did you get here?" achraf asked, and you grinned sheepishly.
"got lost. i came here with my friend to watch real madrid and she ditched me to go to take a shit or something, i have no idea."
kylian huffed at you revelation, "siding with the enemy, i see. i thought you were my supporter."
you tried not to react to his words, but the growing seansation of butterflies made you feel nauseous.
"suck it up, ky. don't be a sore loser," you jeered, punching him softly in his arm.
he raised and eyebrow, "i guess i'll leave you here."
achraf was quick to deflect it, however, "no you're not. you're going to help this young lady and see her out, kylian," he tutted, "be a gentleman."
you smirked at your best friend, "listen to him, ky. he has wisdom to share."
he kissed his teeth, turning around to walk away. you grabbed his wrist to stop him, "okay, okay, i'm sorry!"
you laugh, squeezing his flesh as you felt something thin line his skin. you looked down and the sight of your sentiment, its state just like yours, left you breathless.
"you still wear that little bracelet i made you?" you couldn't stop smiling.
he looked at you, straight in your eyes as if his following words weren't enough. he needed you to feel the genuineness of it all.
"i could never take it off. it's like my good luck charm."

Day #3 Breeding: Steve Harrington.
Tumblr media
You covered your lips with your left hand, closing your eyes tightly. The cold pottery made you feel more sensitive than usual, and the fact that someone could hear and see you didn't help much either.
"Honey, listen to me," Steve whispered against your ear, causing a shiver to run through your entire body, "I need you to be as quiet as possible, okay?"
You nodded quickly, too lost in your own pleasure to really hear what Steve was trying to tell you. You grabbed one of his arms, burying your fingernails into it hard. That he was a boxer helped that this didn't make you feel so guilty, Steve was someone hard to physically hurt.
You were never a fan of violence, much less a fan of being attracted to men who made a living from beating others, at least that was until you met your boyfriend, Steve Harrington, one of the best boxers in America and, if he had his way, the whole world. The first day you met him you couldn't help but ogle him, he was too beautiful and funny and perfect, and when he shyly asked for your number you knew you couldn't miss an opportunity like this.
And you hadn't been wrong at all, Steve was the best boyfriend you could have wished for, and him being a boxer helped a lot more than you thought. Especially in more... intimate things, like what you were doing right at this very moment, in the middle of the dressing room of Steve's training place.
"Are you...? Shit, are you taking the pills?" he growled, resting his head on your shoulder. You couldn't help but bang yours against the wall, your vision too blurred to get a good look at anything but Steve.
"Y-yes, I'm taking them, don't worry, you can come inside" you mumbled between gasps and moans.
Steve nodded, following your command. He gripped your hips firmly, increasing his movements, getting messier and messier, harder and harder. It wasn't long before you were cumming around him, your spongy walls squeezing his flesh hard enough to cause his member to shoot all the way inside you.
Both of you were breathing heavily, your bodies wet and numb. You looked at each other with a smile, and Steve soon kissed your lips softly.
"I love you, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have you in my life" Steve said, helping you stand up on the floor and guiding you to the shower, ready to pamper his aching girlfriend, just like he did every time, without fail.

Fun to write wooo, I might do a part two if I remember about this lmao
Man sorry if it seems lazy at any point as well
Yan!Scythe x reader -
(TW: yandere shit, stalking, getting chased, a single curse word, possible ooc scythe)
All you heard was whistling and the heavy ba-dump of your blood through your ears. You tried to run as fast as you could through the dusty ghost town you managed to get lost in.
Your shoes pounded against the sand, and your legs were exhausted. You've been running for who knows how long at this point.
You turned around a corner and sat next to a wall to try to catch your breath. You hoped she wasnt following you anymore, but you still heard the whistling and humming of that… monster. The whistles sounded farther away now, but you still weren't fully safe. You don't know what she wanted from you, but what you do know is she's been chasing you for what feels like an hour, carries a terrifying looking gear, and she’s the most wanted in all the factions. You weren't that special of a person, you weren't a criminal, nor anybody important, you have no idea what a person like HER wanted from you.
You got snapped out of your train of thought when you realized you could hear footsteps now, oh god.. she was close. You were frozen with fear, you held your breath and stayed as still as you possibly could.
The footsteps got louder, and louder, and louder.
“Ya know, you can't run forever, sugar.”
Her voice was.. intimidating, to say the least. She had a very strong southern accent, if she wasn't chasing you down for who knows what reason, you might have found her voice attractive.
You said nothing and continued being as still as you possibly could.
“Listen, baby, I ain't gonna hurt ya! Just come out of your little hiding spot, so I can see your pretty little face.”
You seriously doubted that she wouldn't hurt you.
Scythe was getting annoyed now, where the hell were you?! She never loses her sights on a target, but you were much more than that. You were actually important to her. But of course you didn't know that, you just met her, after all.
Except she's known you for a while.
You were such a precious thing! Your adorable face, your laugh, your beautiful eyes, oh.. and your personality! She loves every bit about you.
That's why she isn't letting you leave.
You were still hiding, she knew you were around here, somewhere. You were terrified, you didn't know what to do.
So you stayed in your hiding spot, and waited.
And waited,
And waited.
It felt like forever, you couldn't hear her footsteps anymore, so you think you're in the clear to go.
So you carefully step outside your hiding spot, and look around.
It seemed cl-
“FUCK-”
You got kicked down on top of the sandy ground, and heard a menacing laugh behind you.
“Oh sugar.. I'm glad I was able to find you in the end! You hide well, I'll give ya that.”
You got the breath knocked out of you, gasping for air. The woman placed her foot on top of your back, not too hard as to hurt you, but enough to keep you from getting up and running.
“Now, you're probably wondering what I want from you.” She paused, trying to figure out what she wanted to say. You nodded, and tried to speak, but she interrupted you. “Well, darlin’, I want you.”
“Wh-what do you mean!?”
She took her foot off of you, but before you could do anything, she grabbed one of your arms, forcing you up. She then brought you into a hug, wrapping her arms around you.
“Ya see sugar, you don't know this, but I've been watching you for a while now.” She grinned at you, looking into your eyes. God, you were so much prettier up close.
“What did I do to anger you?!”
“You didn't do anything, darlin’. Except steal my heart!” She laughed, “And trust me, baby, I ain't angry. It's reasonable that ya would wanna run away from me.”
You looked at her with fear in your eyes and she took notice of this, and loosened her hold on you, instead of hugging you, she was now just holding your hands.
“Relax, I'm not gonna hurt ya! I just want you to stay with me for a little while, it won't be bad, baby, I promise.”
And then your vision went black.

One Day At A Time (Part 1/?)
Jake Hangman Seresin x Reader
T/W: Angst, grief, death, anxiety
A/N: this is pure angst, I feel like you can tell I've been listening to Say Yes to Heaven on repeat since now it has finally been released. This part can be read alone
Summary: the aftermath of Jake being informed that his fiancée is never coming home from deployment.
Tumblr media
Hangman is sat grouchy in morning training from being unable to book today off work. He's stuck here in a room full of people that don't know what happened four years ago.
He usually spends the anniversary of your death in bed, under a mountain of blanket, crying as he looks down at the ring he bought you the day after your final deployment. The ring you died before you could receive.
Every day it haunts him that he'll never get to speak to you again, that he'll never laugh with you, that you'll never see the ring; that you'll never have the life you planned.
Javy sits nearby giving Hangman the space he's asked for in years before. He's braced for Jake to act heartless today. He's ready to go around the Hard Deck with an unexplained apology to everyone on Hangman's behalf this evening.
Coyote doesn't expect him to spend the best part of the morning bating Rooster into a fight. Javy feels braced on the edge of his seat, waiting for one of them to finally snap and stand up to take a swing at the other.
The frown that has been glued on Hangman's features since he arrived on base is replaced with a mocking smirk as he's physically separated from Rooster by a wall of other aviators.
"I can't be here." Hangman mutters to Javy as they step outside for a minute.
"Just get through today, tomorrow will be easier." Javy reassures him as he stands there shaking his head.
Tears suddenly blockade his vision as Jake admits, "It's been four years and It feels like it was yesterday."
Releasing a shaking breath he continues, "I miss her so fucking much Coyote." Jake's voice audibly cracks as a few tears begin sliding down his face despite his best effort to blink them away.
Javy grips his arm. "I know." He states not elaborating in the knowledge that there is absolutely nothing he could tell his wingman right now to make that longing go away.
"You know she would tell you to apologise to Bradshaw though right?" Javy smirks.
Jake lets out a small laugh wiping the tears from his face. He knows that's true. You would hate him driving a wedge between anyone in his squad. Hate the possibility of someone not having his back in your absence.
"She would hate you not moving on too." Javy finally vocalises the thought he's not know how to phrase for the last four years.
*
That's how Jake ended up hooking up with someone he met at the hard deck that evening. Javy pulled him aside and warned him not to do this today. He knows that Jake only pulls women at the bar when he feels shit about himself today is almost certainly one of those days.
In all honestly, every day without you he's felt shit about himself. Javy's told him once before that he's a different person to who he was when they met in flight school.
Jake's thoughts feel cloudy as the girl he picked up this evening starts kissing his neck. All he thinks is that he wishes it was you that was towering over him right now. He shuts his eyes trying to picture the other girl as you.
Before either of them reach any kind of high the girl kisses him on the mouth something he has never let anyone do since you. He starts crying at his mental comparison - the kiss forcing him back into reality that he has let this girl into your bed.
"Are you okay?" She asks instantly detaching from him and jumping out of bed to get dressed.
"No." He bellows muffling himself with his pillow.
"Right... well I'm gonna go. Best of luck with whatever the fuck this is." The short blonde says before practically sprinting out the door.
Jake lies there clutching his throat as it constricts, gasping for air as a wave of panic washes over him. His hands shake with anxiety as he moves one to clutch his chest - he feels like he's having some form of cardiac problem.
If he hadn't met you and experienced your panic attacks, he's not sure he would recognise that's what this is.
Sobs uncontrollably rack Jake's body, until he's is too exhausted from sleep deprivation to fuel the worry. He sits down on the floor of your bedroom panting as he starts to break his hysteria.
When he stops crying he feels a headache gnawing behind his eyes and tries his best to ignore it. He finds a bottle of water in his work bag and downs it as he walks to the bathroom to go shower.
Standing under the freezing water he starts scrubbing his skin raw where she's kissed him. Only once his teeth are chattering from the cold, does he gets out and change the sheets of your bed.
Climbing underneath the covers, he does something he knows is going to hurt, he opens his photo app only to be instantly greeted with your smiling face looking back at him.
"I wish you were here baby... You should be here." he whispers stoking your face on the small screen, talking to you like you can hear him. His therapist told him if he wants to talk to you he should just talk it out.
"I miss you every minute of every day." His voice is barley audible at the admission.
"I'd give anything to know what happened to you." He says transfixed by the photo.
Missing your voice talking to him he switches to his videos and starts playing them one after the other. It's agony to watch you laugh with him.
He knows Javy would say this was self enforced torture but continues anyway.
He gets to a video of you shouting at him for recording you while you were doing your makeup.
Pausing it he starts telling you about his day instead of smiling at your smart ass retorts.
"I instigated a fight with Bradshaw today. It was stupid and I know I didn't mean anything I said. Sometimes I just feel so numb, so empty that I need someone to punch me just to feel something." He states.
"Everything is overwhelming me today now. I've made it another year apart from you and I don't know how I'm going to do another one. One day at a time is such a bullshit answer to this." Jake vocalises.
*
Javy is sat across town in the Hard Deck with the other aviators. "Why are you apologising for him, he's not here." Phoenix remarks looking around as Coyote approaches Bradley.
"He's had a stick up his ass all day Coyote, you don't need to defend him when he's not here." Bob chips in.
"There's a reason why he's been so... confrontational?" Javy pauses unsure if that is the correct phrasing he wants to use. "- Today" he continues.
"You guys need to cut Hangman some slack for today." Javy states.
"What's the reason?" Payback asks.
"He'll tell you when he's ready." Coyote says, "It's the anniversary of something traumatic that affected him. Be gentle tomorrow, if he lashes out he's just tired." Coyote doesn't elaborate any further.
"I'm gonna go check on him." He steps away from the group, not registering Fanboy following him.
"It's Nova right?" Fanboy pries.
Javy pretends not to hear as he walks to the door.
"I served with her when I was first stationed. I heard what happened to her. I knew she was dating someone called Jake but I didn't put two and two together until just now... I won't tell the others." He assures Javy.
*
The day before the mission they all independently venture back out to the hard deck and settle for drinks on the beach. The day after tomorrow they all go their separate ways - redeployed to different corners of the world.
"I'm sorry for everything." Jake says to Bradley, in earshot of the rest of the group.
"What's changed to suddenly make you feel guilty after the last few years?" Rooster raises an eyebrow at his fellow aviator.
"I've never hated you, you've just always been there when I'm at my worst... I think I lost myself and Javy is right I can't keep living in this stasis." Jake acknowledges that everything he's said to Bradley over the years is because of what grief has made him.
"What am I right about?" Javy asks Jake from where he's sat on the sand. Jake doesn't meet his eyes he just glances out at the waves.
"That I am a shell of who I was and I don't know how to get back." Jake says, voice sounding small but loud enough for everyone else there to stop and listen to his atonement.
"Every day I tell myself tomorrow will be easier, then tomorrow comes and it's not, so I take it out on whoever is in my line of vision." He confesses his thoughts to everyone, mainly talking to Javy.
"I am still so in love with her." Jake discloses shutting his eyes again willing his feelings away.
"I don't know how to fall out of love with her." He turns to Javy.
"You're never going to fall out of love with her. You asked her to marry you." Javy reminds him of his impatience. Jake had been scouting vintage ring shops for months for your ring but kept coming up empty, he couldn't wait any longer and asked you without one.
"If there's a girl out there that you care about, call her right now and win her back" Phoenix instructs Hangman, mildly concerned by how unnerved he's acting.
"You're one of the best of the best - call her." Rooster reiterates.
"S-s-s-sh-she was KIA." Jake stammers to inform everyone.

Fuck fuck fuck. You were late, sooo beyond late for the Charity Gala. Security were mulling outside and in an attempt to save face and avoid having them open the large and very loud doors for your entrance you ripped off your heels clutching them in your hand with your bag as you raced up the stairs.
“You’re late…” Tommy, the security guard who got rostered on all the events in your city was at the door, eyes honed in on you with a devilish smirk. Tommy had gotten you out of many difficult situation and in return you’d sneak him beer to drink out the back.
“No shit Tommy.”
The security guard laughed “Don’t worry no one’s taking your spot, get in there.”
“You’re the best.” Giving him a quick hug
Muffled conversation filled the room as you made your way to your seat in between your work bestie, Nigel and… who the fuck was that?
“Always making an entrance.” Nigel leaned over to the mysterious stranger with dark hair who you couldn’t see the face of but you swooned at his booming laugh.
“I’m here! I’m here! Don’t fret!” You slid into your seat with a huff causing your bangs to raise slightly from the sudden gust.
“Omg when did you stop wearing shoes that’s not chic.” Nigel faux gasped. Realising you were still clutching them you quickly tried to manoeuvre your foot back into the all too expensive, uncomfortable heel under the table.
“I ran here.” You huffed at Nigel.
“That’s great sweetie good for you! Smashing those New Year’s resolutions! Now turn around and meet Chris.”
You were finally able to look up at the handsome celebrity, who looked thoroughly amused by your grand entrance and clunky movements.
The event was held annually to raise money for the arts and your work was a key sponsor but occasional celebrity appearances were nothing to make your jaw drop like this.
“Be nice…” Nigel whispered swiftly in your ear before he pranced off to socialise.
“I’ve heard lots about you.” He held out his hand for you to shake
“Good stuff I hope.” The corners of you mouth raised slightly as you returned the gesture. You never saw Chris Evans on the guest list and Nigel always handled the table seating, it was starting to became incredibly clear that the man who had listened to you rant on and on about your relationship status for years had pulled off the mother of all blind dates. That sneaky, conniving little bit-
“Nigel was telling me about how much you do for the artists you work with and quote how ‘You’re their God’…” You were pulled out of your train of thought by Chris smirking at the last line.
You finally were able to look at his face properly, the small signs of ageing present in the specks of grey in his beard and the wrinkle on his forehead. He was a borderline silver fox, still in his prime with obvious experience present in his face and demeanour.
But you weren’t going to let yourself swoon so easily. Memories flooded in of your recent girls night, as you all huddled around Instagram reading about his newest girlfriend who was conveniently not present.
She was young which was fine but your FBI level investigator friends were intricately telling you about her background like she was some girl from college. Her horrid behaviour towards waitstaff, her lack of work ethic and how little she cared about her projects, the tweets of her shaming anyone who wasn’t skinny and white - those ones hit hard. You were never the beauty type but that didn’t stop you from gaining the attention from men. But the idea of another woman shaming another for their looks made your skin crawl. She was the antithesis of everything you ever believed in; good manners, kindness and hard work. You believed people were a reflection of those who they surrounded themselves with. And as the memory recalled in your head you couldn’t help but feel icky at the man who while nice and polite probably felt little of you.
You felt to get through the night you’d definitely need a little help.
“Well not really, I just listen. People like when you hear them out. I feel like today that kind of personal aspect is lost in interactions.”
Great answer. Professional. Clear. Nailed it.
“Well I think they’re lucky to have someone like you. It’s great to see someone give people a platform to share their art.”
Your eyes diverted from his intense gaze as he spoke sincerely at you to one of your favourite people walking past with a large bottle of wine, the condensation on the sides told you it was white. Your favourite.
“Yeah it’s great, sorry just a second… pssst Geraldine!”
The elderly woman looked at you with a beaming smile on her face, immediately shuffling over to you.
“Hey! how are you girl?” You took her outstretched hand, squeezing it with happiness.
“Good! So happy to see you here - I’ll get you the good stuff this stuff… it’s no good!” She waved her finger at you, sticking her tongue a little.
“Thanks Gerry.” You smiled at her, appreciative of her and the gifts she brings. She was your version of God.
“You’re welcome darling!”
“You know the waitstaff by name?” His eyebrow raised and you prepared yourself for a snarky comment.
“They’re human too aren’t they?”
“No I agree I just have met very few people at stuff like this who aren’t so self absorbed with themselves to notice the people who are doing things for them.” You heart pinged a little at that comment, you started to soften in his presence. Catching yourself, you readjusted your posture, pulling your shoulders back.
“I dont believe you should treat people on their perceived importance, besides kindness pays and now we are all gonna be drinking the good stuff.” You raised your empty glass up, ready to receive the tasty confidence from a bottle.
“I’ll drink to that.” He raised his tumblr of dark liquor, clinking it to your now full glass, making eye contact as you both sipped.
You had nothing to lose and decided to have fun with this, already planning how you are going to recount this epic story of ego takedown to the girls.
“So Evans right?”
“Yes ma’am.”
“Huh didn’t recognise you without your bucket hat.”
Chris scoffs “So you saw that huh?”
“Against my will but yes.”
“Well it was complicated.”
“Yeah I imagine hanging around models and c list celebrities all day is “complicated”.”
“I’m hanging around you aren’t I.”
“I’m not a model and I’m not complicated.”
“That surprises me.”
“You don’t know me near enough to be surprised.” You shake your head.
“No but I would like to.”
“Now THAT surprises me.”
“Seems you don’t like me very much based on what you’ve read.”
“I never I said I didn’t like you I just believe you are the company you keep and I don’t like your company.”
“That’s still an assumption.”
“Well screenshots live forever don’t they?” You gave him a sarcastic grin.
“You think I would know about those and still continue to hang around someone?”
“How could you not know, do you not know how to use Twitter?”
“During all your research I thought you would of realised I’m not the best with social media.” He laughed awkwardly.
“I didn’t research you, as I said ‘against my will’”
“Well we are both here now so ask away.” He gestured his drink outwards.
You bit your lip trying to decipher the bullshit from reality but every word he spoke sounded so earnest.
“Why do you date the same skinny actress just in different fonts every time?”
“Who said I dated all of them?”
“Fair enough.”
“Not every woman I’m pictured with I’m necessarily dating.”
“Why would you chose to hang around someone who is so…”
“Horrible?” He interjects
“I was going to say repulsive.”
“I don’t always have a choice.”
“That’s ridiculous you’re in your 30s.”
“40s… thank you but it’s the way of the game.”
“So you’re a coward?”
His jaw tightened at the suggestion and his playful gaze fell from his face.
“No I just haven’t found the right one.”
“Maybe because you’re going for the wrong ones.”
“Do you know what this industry is like? I’m constantly getting pushed into being around people that I don’t particularly like.”
You gestured around you with obviousness apparent on your face.
“Your job is different.”
“So now you’re saying my life is easy?”
“No I’m saying you don’t have 50 cameras in your face at once and people usually aren’t using you for what you have.”
You pursed your lips realising you’ve hit a nerve,
“You really didn’t know did you?”
“Nope. If I did I wouldn’t of taken it as far as it got. People are damn good at hiding their true-selves when it’s convenient but something tells me, you would never understand that.”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Well for starters, you came in late, expensive heels in hand - tells me you have good taste but are practical when need be.”
You nodded at the analyse.
“You’re nice to everyone you meet, I think about 50 people have walked past beaming at you which is a nice change to have the attention off me for once.”
“I’m just good at my job.”
“I don’t doubt it but you give it humility. Nigel told me all about what you do and he didn’t understate it.”
You blushed at your accolades particularly coming from the handsome actor.
“I think you can’t help but be anything but yourself and why would you when you’re so great? It’s endearing and a little bit intimidating.” He chuckled out that last line.
“So I’m asking, can we start over?” He leans in a little closer, placing his hand on your knee like it was nothing out of the ordinary.
“Yes.” You place your hand on his.
“But first… what if your type?” You quizzed.
“I’m looking at her.” He smirked at you.
After many speakers, more glasses of wine and an unspoken plate swap with Chris who graciously gave you his pasta after you starting drooling over it, the night was starting to become less formal and performers started to play covers of songs you couldn’t help but bop and sway to.
“Do you dance?” Chris asked casually
“Well yes but-.”
“Great!” He interjected, pushing out his chair and holding out his hand.
“Dance with me.”
“I don’t think that’s a good look, there’s photographers around and I know-“
“Omg woman just shut up and go dance with him!” Nigel nudged you out of your seat with Chris quick to steady you.
“You’re an asshole.” You faux sneered at him.
“And you’ll thank me Monday.” He gave you a smug smile.
Chris walked you both to the makeshift dance floor. Wrapping his arm around your waist as you swayed softly.
“So what do you think?” He quipped
“The Gala is going great, no major issues everyone looks like they’re having a good time.” You looked around nervously at a few curious eyes on you two.
“About me I meant.”
“Oh! Well… I’m 80% convinced.”
“Convinced of what?”
“That you’re not an ass.”
“That’s promising.”
“Well I’m not easy to sway.”
“Didn’t think you would be.” He purred at you.
You bodies were moving in a slow sway, Chris taking the lead as you melted into his arm as he moved you around the floor.
“Do you know what you’re doing?”
“Dancing?”
“No being seen with me.”
“What’s so wrong with it?”
“People still think you’re dating her.”
“And? Now they won’t and for good reason.”
“And I was the perfect choice?”
“You weren’t a factor in the plan but if you must know a news report from a “close friend” is due to come out in…” He checks his watch behind your shoulder.
“12 hours that her and I called it quits.”
“So how do I come into it?”
“You’re just the beautiful woman I met at a charity ball days after a break up that turned out to be my future wife.” He was grinning now.
“You’re ridiculous you know that?”
“Maybe, but I still want to see you again.”
“80% Evans.”
“Well do you think it’ll be at 90% by next Wednesday?”
“Possibly why?”
“Cause that’s when I’m taking you out… lean back.”
He dramatically dips your body down near the floor never letting an inch of hair even come close to the ground, pulling you back up slowly so your bodies are closer than ever.
You were slightly panting now as he eyes raked your face for a sign of agreement.
“You’re a little too good at this aren’t you?”
“I use to do Tap.”
“No with swooning women.”
“Well if it helps you’re harder to crack than most.”
“Keep it that way.”
He spins you out, only for you to spin back in, your back towards his chest as his arms wrap around your stomach securely. His nose dragging along your cheek.
“So Wednesday?”
“It’s a date.” You move around, hands now landing on his strong chest, his arms clutching your waist protectively, scared if he loosens his grip you’ll somehow disappear into thin air.
“Would you mind being the front page of a gossip magazine?”
You looked at him confused “Yes why?”
“Because I really want to kiss you but there’s a guy with a camera just over your left shoulder.”
“Can he see my face?”
“No.”
“Is he filming?”
“Photographer so don’t think so.”
“Could you make him delete it?”
“Definitely.” He grinned.
With that you leaned up a little closer, putting your weight on your toes and placing a soft kiss on his warm plump lips, seeing a sudden flash of white light through closed eyelids you pulled out a little flushed, biting your lip as brush rose to your cheeks.
“Make him send that to me before he deletes it.”
“Whatever you want.” He leaned down for another kiss.
