Hi there!

Wanted to ask you something about the greens in the book, now Blackstans are saying greens were much more awful in the book and grrm hated them and Aegon was actually worse than joffery Aemond worse than Ramsay, and Alicent worse than Cersei. but how much all of this is true? I didn't read the book because when i learned that the book is just a historical textbook i lost my interest

Apparently it's not even gonna be a guide now for the show canon, according to GRRM in a new interview he gave to "Deadline Hollywood" a few days ago. They decided to deviate from Lore and Canon so hard that they basically threw out both "Fire & Blood" and "The World of Ice and Fire" and will forge a completely new path that is uncharted.

I'm not sure what that means for the future, but it seems that canon lore is more or less a very loose guideline now.

As for the book.

I mean, Aegon is actually far less terrible in the source material. He's more of a drunken frat boy that was forced to marry his sister by Viserys cause he was partying too hard and their dad thought marriage would settle him down. Which it did, to an existent. Aegon in "Fire and Blood" hates Helaena but really, really, loves his children a great deal. He's also brave, and actually gets out there and leads from the front in battle. He's a much more serious character in the book.

Aemond is actually nothing like his book counterpart. Aemond in "Fire and Blood" is loud, brash, and boisterous. He's also ruthless and slightly unhinged. He is rather blood thirsty and cruel. But he also is a very popular and effective regent when Aegon is nearly morally wounded in battle. Both Aemond and Criston nearly break the Blacks and win the war but Aemond's recklessness and impatience snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Show!Aemond is actually Daeron in Aemond Cosplay. With the exception of the intensity. Daeron is the quiet, brooding, contemplative and honorable badass who is completely devoted to Alicent and is close to Criston. In the book, Aemond doesn't particularly care for his family in any appreciable sense. He somewhat kicks Aegon when he's down when he becomes regent - saying that the Conquerors Crown fits him a lot better than it ever will Aegon. But since Sapochnik had no intention of introducing Daeron into the show, they basically gave Aemond Daeron's personality. Which, ironically, was there to offset Aemond's personality in the book.

Alicent in the book has absolutely no character at all. Everything about her is in subtext. You know that she's jealous of Rhaenyra and Criston - going so far as to accuse Criston of grooming Rhaenyra. But then she shows her hand by suggesting that Criston be removed as Rhaenyra's sworn shield and become Alicent's (Which everyone side-eyes Alicent in council). Alicent is also a lot more assertive and confident, often seen huddled closely with Criston.

The only other attribute that we know about her is that she loves her children and grandchildren. In particular we know that Alicent and her granchildren were very close and that they'd come into Alicent's rooms to kiss her goodnight every night. We also know that Daeron is not only her favorite child but also that they were devoted to one another. Daeron is Alicent's sworn shield for most of the war.

Other than Aemond, most of the Greens are pretty above the board and honorable. Later in the war, Daeron gets pretty dark. But he also has a very good reason for doing what he does in both incidents that Rhaenyra and the Starks instigate and he makes them pay dearly.

So, no, I wouldn't say they're as bad as all that.

Let's put it this way. In the "Game of Thrones" era of the Ice and Fire Universe. The Greens - and Daeron in particular - are remembered as the heroes and good guys of the Dance. Even Rhaenyra and Daemon's descendants consider the Blacks to be the villains.

Sonic Underground 11: The Last Resort

I’m watching Sonic Underground in search of inspiration to finish a fic I’ve been writing forever. It’s a sad state of affairs. See the recap of the first three episodes here, if you're interested!

The plot (for want of a better word): Once again on the run from Robotnik, the triplets stumble across a beautiful resort town in the middle of nowhere. Finally feeling pampered, and with a new beau to romance, Sonia is tempted to stay in this idyllic paradise! But is everything as it seems, or are Sonic’s suspicions right about this mysterious place?

HAVE I MENTIONED HOW MUCH I DISLIKE SONIA’S CHARACTER TYPE YET.

Cracking open the cider today, friends.

Aleena tells us that “a thing of beauty should be cherished and protected”, but getting too protective of it will lead to “betrayal and ugliness”. Because this was written in America, and despite not coming from the 90s, it’s an American 90s cartoon, kids.

Also, YOU’D KNOW ABOUT THAT, WOULDN’T YOU ALEENA.

So we are once again immediately starting off with a reminder that Sonia hates getting dirty, Manic is comfortable in dirt and naive, and Sonic is highly suspicious of everything. Because these episodes might not be in order and you might not have spent the last ten episodes getting to know them

Hey, an orange item in the middle of a Boss Arena! This is surely not Dingo!

What, it’s Dingo? SHOCK.

Okay. So. They run out of the city after the SHOCKING ambush, and in the morning, they’re driving through a canyon, and Sonic is basically lost, despite the fact that they didn’t really have a destination in mind. Whatever. Sonia then gets on both boys’ case because guys never admit when they’re lost. What Manic did to annoy her, we don’t know. Probably just exist. It’s more reason for her to just be generically annoyed this episode.

And they stumble across the resort town, which Sonia announces “is like all of Mobius before Robotnik took over”. Sweetheart, you were barely born when Robotnik took over. You don’t know what it was like.

So this is Lake Valley Resort. And I immediately remember why I made Stripes a Nice Guy TM.

Because THIS FUCCBOI.

Sonia immediately falls for him, and in two sentences, fuccboi has the charm on ten. “Very pleased to meet you… and your brothers” indeed.

And Sonic’s back is appropriately up, because he, at least, remembers that not everyone is on the side of the Resistance. Manic does not understand this. Sonia is too thirsty enamoured with the scenery to care right now.

And so Stripes immediately reports ‘two’ strangers in the valley, because fuccboi wants the girl is not actually a bad guy, he’s just keeping Lake Valley safe. Which I get. It’s more of that delicious world building that I love about this series. People make sacrifices and give up their morals to maintain their lifestyles. This is a thing that happens.

EXCEPT STRIPES IS A FUCCBOI SO

Sonic once again reminding Manic not to steal, immediately telling us that Manic’s kleptomania is going to make an appearance.

Sonic implying less than 100% American heterosexuality +1

Manic looking shady as hell +1 (not actually a tally I just felt it needed mentioning)

Fuccboi up to his fuccboi games. And Sonia is falling for it because she is a basic bitch like that the writers need a romantic conflict in a female-focus episode.

Sonic playing tennis against himself. And arguing with himself for being a sore loser and a crappy umpire. Some things will never change.

Manic on his kleptomania. But luckily Lake Valley doesn’t work on money somehow. But then Manic runs his mouth about being part of the Resistance and the world building is back with the mob saying the resistance was responsible for what happened to Mobius! Again, legitimate propaganda tactic! I LOVE IT.

FUCCBOI. “I’ve always thought the valley was beautiful, but it’s even more beautiful now that you’re here” COME ON.

Sonia and Stripes get into a fight when she accuses him of being afraid—which he has every right to be—and he claims to only be trying to save his home by making a deal with Robotnik. Again, so legit. I love it.

The Song: Listen to your heart. A rare Sonia lead! And a samba, which is an interesting choice, but sure. Basically it’s about girls recognising fuccbois when they see them, and choosing her brothers over the boy she met literally twelve hours ago…

Once again, Stripes reports in Sonic and Manic, but not Sonia. But this time Sonic’s listening in, and we get Robotnik revealing to Sleet and Dingo that he’s only letting Lake Valley remain as it is because he was hoping the triplets would go there and fall into Stripes’ trap. Once the triplets are captured, Lake Valley will be destroyed. SHOCKING. Not how it would work in a real dictatorship, but we deal. Stripes needs motivation to go good.

Sonic reports in to Sonia, who has a mini-explosion about how Sonic was ‘always’ scared she’d want to stay, which is… what? WHAT? You’ve been here for a day! And you’ve barely seen Sonic for like twenty minutes of that day. WHAT.

So in this episode, the robotociser can be destroyed. It couldn’t be, last episode.

And as soon as the Valley is under threat, everyone’s pro resistance.

“Man can you dig the cymbal-lism?” ah haha. I see what you did there, Manic.

But seriously. Not in this episode. You fumbled the symbolism so I resent your pun.

Also, Sonia, you were not interested in being friends with the fuccboi, stop lying to the children.

Okay. Okay. Let’s real talk for a second, because again, the legit world building has been ruined by the requirements of children’s programming.

In the real world, Lake Valley would remain untouched as proof to the overclass that if you play ball, Robotnik will let you live your life. It would be a beautiful oasis that you can visit, that you can live a perfect life in, a reward for good behaviour. But, in contrast, every infraction you commit takes you further away from Lake Valley – it’s your fault and your poor behaviour that confines you to the wasteland you live in now. Good citizens get beautiful things and safety and peace. Bad citizens slave away in industrialised capitalism.

And Lake Valley would not respond to this situation by taking up arms. They would blame the Resistance for bringing the war to their doorstep. They could have continued, they could have stayed safe, if only those damn hedgehogs had stayed away. Clearly the only way to survive is catch the interlopers and re-establish their deal.

But that’s complicated and dark and I wasn’t supposed to notice the real world comparisons, STOP NOTICING THE WORLD BUILDING AND MOVE ON.

Biweekly Media Roundup

- Across the Spider Verse (Movie) - I pretty much already knew this movie was going to be amazing given how Industry-changingly Incredible the first one was, but wow man-What a spectacle. Visually I think it’s even more impressive than it’s predecessor and honestly the best looking thing I’ve seen all year, with the different animation styles for each character and dimension being a joy to behold every time. Gwen’s watercolor dimension was my favorite location and I loved how the colors would shift with the characters emotions and bleed down the screen. Spider-Punk was a standout as well with his paper-craft style and fantastic design making him steal every scene that he was in. I also really liked Miles as a protagonist in this one, he really got to shine here. I don’t really have a lot to complain about, the writing was tight, both villains where fantastic, the soundtrack slapped, the only thing I’m mad about is that I have to wait a year to see the story resolved-but that’s a feature, not a complaint.  As a side note I do find it pretty funny how horny everyone is for Miguel btw, like don’t get me wrong I get it, he’s a big tiddied well designed tragic backstory vampire cringe fail DILF, he’s lab tested to be popular on the internet, it’s just pretty funny that I can’t scroll for 5 minutes without seeing his thiqq ass plastered on my screen, y’all are thirsty. 

- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Video Game) - Progressing a bit slowly due to some other stuff I’ve got going on, but still greatly enjoying it! I beat the water temple and now ghost Sidon follows me everywhere which is cute, and I’ve enjoyed seeing the memories play out. I wish it was a bit easier to make money given how much I spend, but maybe that’ll change once I do more story stuff or spend more time in the Abyss, we’ll see. 

- Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (Movie) - I’m surprised with how much I enjoyed this, given how little I’ve heard about it. It’s a really cute and fun little found family story in a classic fantasy world. The movie is accessible to any audience (As my parents loved it with no knowledge of DnD), but you can tell that the creators had a lot of love for the game in how the characters and dynamics are depicted. I love that the two main characters are a completely platonic male female pair who are best friends and raise a child together without any hint of romance? Incredible. I love how there’s a character with huge “OP NPC the DM created for lore purposes who despite the players protests the DM won’t let join the party because that would make the game to easy” vibes. There’s a lot of creative and funny scenes, and while I wish there were more explicitly queer characters, it’s nice to see familiar DnD conventions in a well-made product. I would love if they made more of these and would recommend it to basically anyone as a fun family film. 

- Stalker (Movie) - My dad wanted to watch this old indie Russian film after reading an article about it being a formative sci fi film, so we watched it and. well. It certainly was a film. I will give it credit in that the idea of a location that miraculously grants ones deepest desires being portrayed as sinister not due to a monkey’s paw style twisting of how the wish is granted but due to the self-reflective horror of having to face what your deepest desire truly is and what that says about you as a person is pretty rad, but outside of that cool idea this movie was kind of a mess. There were a lot of self indulgent “Auter” style rants on art criticism and faith which honestly just came off as more complaining than anything else, and while I can respect the unique shots they were able to get the majority of the time I was just thinking “Man, it looks like they are straight up filming at an worn out/ abandoned sewage tunnel, it can’t possible be safe to have the actors crawling around in all this rancid water can it?”. Turns out I was even more right than I thought as they were in fact filming on an abandoned nuclear waste facility and just a few years after this film the director, his wife, and several members of the crew died from cancer that was heavily speculated to be the result of the radiation poisoning from filming this movie. Insane. Anyway my main take away from this film is thank god we have OSHA now.

- Kill the Lights (Webcomic) - Read this as a quick self indulgent relaxing one, and I enjoyed it for what it was. I have a soft spot for Skip Beat! style actor-based narratives where you get to see the actors thought process on how to enhance/ play out a scene, so that aspect was fun. Actually, I kind of wish the story was way more about that, I was getting into those scenes and found myself disappointed whenever it switched back to the romance stuff, despite that being the reason I came here in the first place. Aw well, I wouldn’t exactly say this is memorable enough to recommend to anyone outside the BL genre, but I liked the protagonist, side characters, and art. Also, how weird is it that with this, Mo Dao Zu Shi, and End of the Road, there are 3 completely unrelated stories in which an asian man who’s ruffian background made him adept at combat dies young and is then reincarnated into the existing body of a rich twink with a reputation for sleeping around who then runs into an even richer man from their past who turns out to have secretly been harboring a borderline obsessive crush on the protagonist and is now the sole person able to recognize them in their new body? Like, 3 isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened thrice right?

- Heavenly Delusion (Anime) - Genuinely impressed by how often this mystery show will pull the rug out from under you, lulling you into a false sense of security in which you think you have the plot figured out and then hitting you with a reveal that leaves you with more questions than answers - Good work.

- Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies (Video Game) - I think I took a long enough break, I’m ready to finish the Ace Attorney series now. The Dual Destinies DLC case was too long for my liking but at least had decent characters, and I do like both Athena and Blackquill, I wish they didn't have to share time with the previous leads and just got to do their own thing though. 

- Crazy Ex Girlfriend (TV) - How does this show have so many straight up bangers. My Spotify playlist is wrecked now. 

- The S Classes That I Raised (Webcomic) - Some interesting revelations in recent chapters that shed Han Yoohyun’s motivations in a new light. I’ll admit, while I did quite like him as a character, this new information is helping to retroactively fix some of my complaints about his actions towards Han Yoojin in the first timeline, making me like him even more- The brothers are just very cute honestly I love how much they care about each other. Also adding a Yoo Myeongwoo photo here because I miss him.

Hi-Fi AFTERTHOUGHTS

Game: Hi-Fi Rush (January 25, 2023)

Console: Xbox One (Via Xbox Game Pass)

If it wasn't obvious I haven't really been feeling SUPER up for writing about games I played recently for a lot of reasons. Just been tired and out of it. But I wanna clear up my drafts here and also just get these lingering ideas off my mind. But also, I still keep thinking about Hi-Fi Rush!!

During the move, and especially when the move was done, I ended up injuring myself so I didn't want to do much moving. And I still had a bit of time with a free giftpass subscription. And then on top of it this random little game I saw everyone talking about called "Hi-Fi Rush" was added to the service at around the same time. So it was basically the perfect storm for me to play it and help pass the time while keeping off my feet.

As always, this is NOT a review! I'm just throwing up my thoughts about what I felt while playing it! Any game I talk about here is something YOU should check out for yourself and get your own opinion on (especially this one)

SOME SPOILERS FOR HI-FI RUSH AHEAD!!! FAIR WARNING!!

Opening

So like what I said above, I hadn't really given this game a look over until this move due to all the circumstances coming together to make me wanna check it out. I saw everyone talking about it but I wasn't a huge fan of Chai's design and I didn't think I would have a ton of fun with a rhythm action game. But I'm REALLY happy I decided to finally give it a chance! This game is AMAZING!! I haven't played a ton of new stuff this year but I seriously think Hi-Fi Rush is already my Game of the Year!

Stuff I liked

So right off the bat. MAN the animation and art style of this game is AMAZING! I was actually completely blown away by how good the game looks. It's obviously very anime inspired and I was seriously blown away by just how lively and animated they manage to make the whole thing. Particularly with some REALLY nice facial expressions and like, strong poses? If that makes sense? The game is also so bright and colorful and a total treat to look at. Everything is designed super nicely. The whole game is so dynamic and fun to look at.

The characters are also ALL great! Chai's design really grew on me by the end of it (and I especially just love him as a character, he's great.) But like the whole main team is FANTASTIC! I'm so thirsty for Peppermint and Korsika, it's unreal. Why are they so hot? But Maccaron and CNMN are also super cute and fun and have some GREAT moments! And 808 has such a fantastic design! Each member of the team is also just fun and I like their stories and personalities and how they all get along. The bosses are fun too, although I didn't like them as much cause I have protagonist disease brain. AND THE ROBOTS! Oh man the robots are SO good in this game!! I of course loved the lizard ones but even generic robots and the older models all have such lovely designs! They seriously went nuts with every character here and there really aren't any forgettable designs!

The story and writing was also fantastic! I liked the absolutely bizarre hyper-amazon company they created. The plot is simple but really good. I loved seeing how absolutely terrifying and goofy this whole company was. And the story has some really powerful scenes, like when Chai busts them out of the laser cage thing. I actually almost cried during it aha. And this game is FUNNY!! Like, seriously SUPER funny! There's a surprising amount of really good jokes and even a lot of like, meta humor that's not annoying and is really funny. Almost every line is pretty much gold! I loved the story concept, the world concept, I loved every character's motivation, and it's genuinely pretty cool that the protagonist doesn't have an arm that's something you don't see a lot.

And we can't forget the actual gameplay itself! Lately I'm a lot more into rhythm games but I wasn't sure I would be particularly good at this game. But no I actually did pretty well! The combat feels FANTASTIC with timing your combos to the beat of the song. It sounds like it would be really annoying but it's not and you get the hang of it pretty easily. I also really liked summoning the other allies to help you fight and I made some SERIOUS use of them during the game. Being able to buy chips to customize your gameplay and also buy new moves, even new moves for your teammates, totally rocks and makes the game really customizable which is always nice. Outside of combat the actual movement and platforming around the levels is very linear and can be a little slow but it never felt BORING? I always liked it. And I didn't even do everything you can do! After beating it there's still a new side quest and I didn't have enough to buy the hot work out gear costumes for Peppermint and Korsika! But I absolutely WILL be coming back to this game in the future. No questions asked.

Stuff I didn't like

But, yeah, not even GOTY games are 100% perfect haha. This game does have a few small issues that kinda dragged the game at certain points. I have some nitpicks. Like this game also falls into the trap of having combos be really long nonsense button strings like mashing X a bunch. Also I actually was not a huge fan of the way the huge mega corporation was shown to be like "no guys it was good at one point :(" felt a little like a cop out. Like, yeah I guess it was nice with peppermint's mom and stuff but at the same time. No. These companies were never "good and just got corrupted :(" they were always evil. Remember that.

But my main big issue with this game is absolutely the quick time events. There's a LOT of them. And they're not all bad by any means. And like countering the big enemies' special moves feels AWESOME! But especially towards the end of the game it feels like the game CONSTANTLY stops itself every few seconds to throw a quick time event at you and they can just get kinda draining after a while. Like, the whole Korsika boss is a HUGE quick time event. And a lot of times I felt like I was failing it for no reason? Thankfully I managed to do it in one go. But if I had lost would I have to redo the ENITRE fight again? It's too much.

Another big issue I had isn't actually with the game itself. But more so with how I had to play it. For some odd reason when you play Hi-Fi Rush on game pass you cannot download it! You HAVE to play it through cloud! This was my first time ever playing a full game through cloud streaming. And I'll come out and say it: It sucks! So for most of the game it honestly ran totally fine. But I've NEVER in my entire life had good home internet that always worked 100% of the time. So by the end of the game the game just wasn't cooperating. Random crashes, random massive dips in graphics quality, random huge lag spikes. It became REALLY frustrating and there were times the game would just close out MID CUTSCENE!! It was so annoying. I am not a fan of cloud gaming. I can safely say.

Final Thoughts

Even while writing all these little ramblings down I'm remembering more and more about this game I loved. I completely forgot to mention the home base sections! Which were really charming and cute. Or the really funny and goofy emails you could find scattered around the world. Or the fact it uses actual licensed music and even though I didn't recognize a single one it was a nice touch!\

((OH MY GOD I HAD TO COME BACK IN AFTER FINISHING THE POST TO TELL YOU GUYS THAT THIS GAME ALSO HAS THE BEST PHOTO MODE I'VE EVER SEEN?? With TONS of options and cute ways to pose characters and frame the scenes and stuff! It's NUTS! This game rules))

Hi-Fi Rush is SO awesome!! This game seriously rules! It totally feels like a forgotten PS2/Xbox/Gamecube game that would have a huge cult following now! In the absolute best way possible, of course. This game was an absolute blast to go through and I loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND of it. Even when the quick time events were really annoying.

Apparently this game was a bit of a failure from what I've read? I haven't done too much research into it. But if that's true that's REALLY sad. This game is super creative and looks AMAZING! It's seriously so good looking you guys and it's SO funny! I think this is a game everyone would love if they gave it a shot! I seriously cannot recommend trying it enough! Sometimes AAA games can be good in the modern age! Who knew!!

A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex)

Din is a little awkward to begin with. He doesn’t really know what to do after sex. It’s usually you who ends up taking care of him after sex. But as time goes on and you end up having sex more often, he gets a little more comfortable.

And from this he will make sure you’re okay, not hurt or anything. He will ask if you need anything, if you’re thirsty or hungry. And then he will hold you until you fall asleep because he’s cute like that.

B = Body part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)

On him, he’s not really bothered. He hadn’t every really thought about himself in that regard. And plus being covered in armour doesn’t really aid him in his decision making. But if he had to choose, he’d probably say his hands. They’re useful for many things. Fighting, shooting, fixing, flying and fingering...

Din goes full romantic in bed. He will touch and feel every part of your body. He will caress and kiss every inch of your skin. He will make love to you. Because he has someone who loves him.

I don’t think there’s a lot that he would do. At least in the early stages. He very much stuck to the basics because he found it enjoyable and he didn’t really need anything else. But when you started...let’s just say you were getting a little bored, you tried to coax him into branching out in his sexual preferences.

He would never hurt you. That was for certain. He doesn’t find tying you up to be all that appealing either, but if you really wanted him to do it he wouldn’t say no, he just perhaps wouldn’t enjoy it as much. He relates it too much to bounty hunting and he doesn’t think that’s a good mix, but you disagree.

Din is a tiered man. Let him rest. Chances are he can really only go one round, but he knows this and makes it the best damn round you’ve ever had.

T = Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)

He certainly does not use them. (He probably doesn’t even know about a lot of them).

U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)

He kind of is a tease but he kind of isn’t. It depends on the mood. It’s he is going fast then he’s more likely to tease to rile you up more, but more often then not he just lets things happen in the bedroom.

V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make)

Din isn’t much of a talker. He’s very much the silent but deadly type and he’s mostly the same in bed too. He isn’t partially loud, but he’s also not particularly quiet either. He isn’t a constant moaner, but lets just say it’s very easy for you to know when you’re doing something right and making him feel good. Then he will be a bit louder.

But he gets a bit embarrassed at the noises and buries his head in your neck to silence himself despite you telling him you want to hear him.

W = Wild Card (Get a random headcanon for the character of your choice)

He really really really wants to watch you get off. He’s heard you do it (not that you know that) and you sounded to be really enjoying yourself so he wants to watch you. And maybe learn a thing or two about how to properly touch you.

On The Possible Students, Staff, and Ideals of Royal Sword Academy

Before you read this, just know that I don't hate heros. They stand for some good morals at times and they have their moment to shine. What I don't like is the character flaws that don't get resolved towards the end of the film.

I'm was bored, Okay?

With the recent conclusion of chapter 5, we were given a lot of new grounds to to explore and new information to apply and expand for the world building of Twisted Wonderland. The most important thing I believe chapter 5 has done is set the stage for what is to come in the future chapters. With the VDC, we got to take a quick glance at not only the students of RSA, but also it's Head President, Ambrose the 63rd. But, now with the chapters conclusion, what should we expect from the people of RSA in Chapters 6 and 7? Are the students any good? What kind of lessons are taught by the teachers? Is the overall morral of the academy is good or bad?

There are a lot of things we still don't really know about them, so I'm gonna try and figure out more about them through sources of current information and other things that we should be looking at. (Though there is a high chance that everything I'm saying is not going to happen, as everytime I make any kind of prediction, it never happens.😑)

Now, there are two things we need to look at before we actually start guessing what the school is like: the base of inspiration of RSA, and what we know from what we were given in the game.

Starting with the inspiration of RSA. The school is basically the twst base for all Twisted Disney protagonists, like the princes, princesses, heros, and their sidekicks. Basically, if a villain based character attends, or attended NRC, then their protagonist counterpart attends, or attended RSA. Simple. Because these are two rival schools, I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to build two academies that want to rip each other to shreds on the SAME F*CKING ISLAND!!! I feel really sorry for the town that's separating the two schools, because a lot of battles must take place there during the school year.

But back to the point, these RSA students are going to be based on the Disney protagonists, which is actually very important to note. This is where we dive into the films that the characters are based off of.

Disney inspiration

The old Disney films are some of the best pieces of animated art ever to hit the big screen, and I'm positive many of you reading this grew up with these movies. They always make up some part of your childhood. But, unlike you all, I never got to experience all of the Disney magic as a kid. There were only two or three original animated films that I ever got to see: Cinderella (the one I've seen a dozen times), Pinocchio ( the one that gave me nightmares), and Beauty and the Beast (I only ever saw this movie once or twice). There were certain movies from the famous Disney collection I was never allowed to watch, however: Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Hercules, and a lot more. Now that I'm older, and have the resources and time to watch what I've been missing, I'm starting to realize why I was never allowed to watch those movies as a kid.

Now, I'm sure you all thought this way at one point: as a little kid, you've always cheered on the protagonist, you've always said that the good guy is good and the bad guy is bad. You see the situation as black and white. One person stands for something great, while the other wishes to harm others for personal gain. You vote for good, you hate the bad. And in the end, the bad guy gets punished while the protagonist emerges victorious, loved by everyone, and always rewarded with a happily ever after.

However, as you get older, the line between good and bad starts to blur. You begin to realize why the "bad guy" is doing what they're doing, and starting to see that the "good guys" aren't always making the right choices. You start to see there is more to the people involved than them just being good or bad. Ever notice that the protagonists look more or less the same? Their always thin, white, royalty, or heros (not all of them are white, but I'm trying to prove a point.) They always have a charm that makes them stand as protagonists, but when brought together, they look more or less the same. They even have similar personalities to an extent.

The villains on the other hand are much more diverse with design, they have a unique appearance and personality that sets them apart from the "good people". Some are larger, others are taller, a few are very charming and manipulative, while others seem more comedic. They have a wide range of personalities and designs that make them recognizable to the audience. But there is also something else you begin to see as you become older, their motives. Not all of them have the worst intentions in mind. Many of them were wronged for being different. Some even fell from grace by suffering tragic events. Now, I'm not saying everything they do is right, and they still did awful things that merit some kind of punishment, but you start to see why they do what they did. You start to understand them more, and sympathize with them. Not every villain is good, however. There are some cases where the wrong doer gets what they deserve, but there are cases where they didn't deserve what they got.

Flipping to the protagonists, not all of them are great. And, again I'm not saying that to hate on them, but you need to remember, they may be the protagonists, but are they really doing the right thing? There are a bunch of times where the hero is dumb and stupid and replies on others to do everything for them because they're innocent princesses who are good and pure and don't need to do anything because they're perfect. Sounds like a Mary Sue, but sad to say, there are Disney protagonists who fit this description (looking at you Snow White). But not every protagonist is dumb, on the contrary, but their actions are a bit on the selfish side of things. Heroes like Ariel and Hercules made selfish choices for the sake of ✨LOVE✨, but in all honesty, they should've known better. Others hammer on the villains for self enjoyment, and when the villains bite back, they never once considered that the situation was partially their fault. The only thing they can say is " Op, this guy's messed up. Time to beat his @$$!" And then proceeds to kick them all the way to Hades (Sometimes literally in this case). And these characters are supposed to be role models for children! Now the good news is not every protagonist is like this, there are actually a few very good ones who mean well, still have flaws that make them relatable, and are rightfully rewarded.

My favorite example of this is Mulan. She wants fight on behalf of her father, works hard to pass the trials of war, and comes back in the end even though she was left to die. The villains she faced were blood thirsty and wanted to conquer more land and take lives. The Huns die in defeat, while Mulan is called a hero. In this case, the formula for good and bad makes sense and puts the characters in the right positions.

But sadly, there are cases where the villain gets wronged by the good guys, goes bad, and then gets punished because they were bad and wrong, and the "good guys" are always right even if they do something that's questionable. This is what we're focusing on, because 1: we have yet to see Mulan in TWST, and 2: because this case makes up at least a good portion of the movies used in the TWST universe. The movies listed here are in the TWST verse, and are what I consider to be in this category: The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Snow White, and Hercules.

The RSA we know so far

Now basing the interactions we received from the VDC, we have met what I like to call the Snow White Package of students from both schools. On the "hero's" side, we've got Neige, our Snow White, and his seven dwarf companions (I'm not going to name them all, because so far, their names are irrelevant.) On the "Villains" side, we've got Vil Schoenheit, our Evil Queen, Rook Hunt, our huntsman, and Epel Felmier, our adorable poisoned apple.

Now from what we're shown, Neige is a young, talented actor and influencer at the rank of number 1. He's also a bit naive and seems to trust others way to easily. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but this can become a problem. I wrote in a theory about Neige failing the VDC that everything is decided for him, and that he's controlled by the people he agrees to help. There are two things to take away from this if this is true.

Firstly, how he responds to the situation. If he's naive about the whole thing until someone points it out to him, then that would make sense. But it would make even more sense if he is already aware of what's going on around him, but he continues to act nice and pretends that he's not bothered by it, when infact, he is.

This leads to the second point, his unique magic. Though we haven't gotten a formal name or power, I believe that his unique magic is called, "Sing with me" Which gives him the ability to get others to sing and dance along with him when ever he preforms. The base of inspiration for this magic would be Snow White getting the animals to sing along with her, and help her with whatever she's doing, (read: do things for her). As for why, his awareness that he's being controlled subtly plus the fact that it bothers him is given away from the fact that he can subtly manipulate people to sing and dance along with him wether they like it or not. Basically, it would make sense for him to be able to manipulate others as he is manipulated on a daily basis.

The dwarves don't hold any importance right now, but if my theory about Neige's unique magic is true, then that would explain the shaky performance given at the VDC. The dwarves probably didn't rehearse very well, if not at all, so a unique magic that can make someone sing along with someone else regardless of whether or not they heard the song before would explain it.

As for Vil, well, he reminds me of Mega Mind. He always wanted to do something great, but he was always categorized as a player for the Villain role at a young age and was never given the chance to prove himself capable of the hero's role. His unique magic isn't just a reference to the Evil Queen, but also a manifestation of what he doesn't want to become, but was always the roles he was set as in front of the camera: a curse. Something unwanted, an obstacle, a disposable, selfish person who only wants to get in the way of the protagonist. What makes this so sad is that he was never given the chance to be something else, something better. People would always categorize him as the bad guy and never give him the opportunity to something greater. It's no wonder he hates the role so much. He wants to survive till the end instead of constantly being defeated.

What they could be

So, what about the rest of the students of RSA? (Besides Chenya. He's cool. I like him.)

Comparing the depressing and traumatic lives of the NRC students, the RSA students... well, it really depends. I could be wrong about this, but...

They could have two sides to them. One side that shows the world that they are the best, that they are successful and they always win. That their lives are perfect and that anyone who wants to be successful must follow their example.

The other side shows what's really going on on the inside, away from the adoring public. And that...is that their lives aren't perfect at all. They have trauma, or bad experiences that they try to cover up with a facaude that hides their true emotional pain. What other things could come out of this side?

A desire...no, a need to try and make their ideal images a reality. To show the world that they are right and they are perfect. That anyone who doesn't agree with them are wrong. They feel the need to cover up all of their pain, and continue on the path that the world sees them taking, the path that the world believes is the path of betterment. They are desperate to prove that they are perfect and successful in any and everyway. And they work together to support each other, making it easier for them to handle their pain and move on.

NRC doesn't, or didn't have that support. But unlike RSA, they aren't desperate to prove that their way of life is perfect, they're more focused on their individual futures, goals and objectives. They are more independent and creative on their own lives and march to the beat of their own drums. When a fellow student is doing something, and helping them benefits the assistant, then they will help, not for the sake of kindness, reputation or perfection, but for the purpose of getting themselves closer to their goals. This isn't a bad thing, but if you try to bring others down so that you can go up, then that isn't good.

But they don't have the same support system RSA has, meaning that instead of sharing their pain to make it easier, they are forced to bottle it up. And we all know how well that ends up going sooner or later.

But that leaves the question: Why does NRC want to beat RSA in the Magift tournament? Or anything else, really?

There are a few reasons. One, for honor's sake, of course. You'd definitely want to beat the people that won last year... and the year before that... and the year before that...

But this is a better reason for wanting to win besides just petty feuds and honor: personal goals and agendas.

Think about it. If a well assembled and trained team managed to beat a seemingly flawless academy's team that's been victorious for almost a century, then that would put you on a pretty high pedistal. You would be incredibly famous and popular. New opportunities would open up for you and your teammates. You could meet your goals and your dreams a lot faster and easier. And your life would improve greatly.

But, do you know what that means for the losing side?

That they were wrong. That they don't always win. That their lives are flawed. That the path they follow doesn't always guarantee success. That they aren't the best example to follow. RSA and it's reputation would decease considerably if they lost to their rival school, making NRC the better academy, making them the perfect academy. This means only one thing for RSA...

They can't afford to lose. Even if it means using tactics that involve questionable actions.

Like CHEATING.

That's right. I just accused the very popular and professional academy RSA of an act as large as cheating. Why? I must have some pretty solid evidence for them to do such a nefarious act. And I do.

Firstly, the fact that despite the constantly changing students and staff, RSA has won the inter school Magift tournament for 99 years in a row. That's a pretty weird fact. It must mean that either the players are really good, or they staged it with tactics that are against the rules.

Second, think about the next chapter. This theory about cheating would fit in perfectly with the character story arch for Ignihyde. I believe that the next chapter is going to be about fitting in. Belonging somewhere. Idia and Ortho are our protagonists. Both are charecters who like games. I imagine Idia having family issues with his cousins constantly playing games with him and Ortho as kids, but Idia always seems to lose to them because the cousins or family members change the rules of the game so that it turns in their favor. They do this for their own amusement and to make themselves feel like winners while Idia and Ortho are always left out of the fun, and called the losers. The Shroud brothers are cast out, only to discover later that they were playing a game that they could never win because it was always rigged against them. And this makes them mad. Idia vows to go above and beyond to be better than them in every way and to win fairly for once. Besides losing against his relatives, what else do you think he lost? Any chance for friends, his brother's life, maybe more. And he is not about to lose anything else ever again.

He works and studies hard and in the end he ends up winning, but also going a little bit to high at the same time. He maxes out on technically and magical power making him better than his competition, but also putting him in his own class of competition. This makes him feel nervous and unworthy of those who are higher than him, and distant from those beneath him. So he's basically drifting in the space between earth and mars.

If he ends up competing in the tournament, only to discover during, or worse yet, after the tournament that the game was rigged against them again, that they were never going to win anyways again, then the flashbacks would race over him with the speed of a bullet train, and he would snap. Hard.

It would make things worse if Ortho was also there and they both Overblotted together. It would be our first match against two dangerous Overblot victims, and it would be all RSA's fault.

Not only that, but it would send an even more dangerous message to the people than the one RSA sent at the VDC about not needed effort to accomplish your dreams. It would be: In order to succeed, do whatever it takes to win. Remember Kronk's New Groove? Where the little kid cheats so that their team can win that competition? Yeah. We would see the same thing happening here. This is a very dangerous way of thinking because that means that if you're crafty enough, then you can win anything and get whatever you want. Not only that you don't have to work hard, but you can take the easiest way and cheat your way to the top.

And how would that sit with the parents of the mages attending RSA? The school teaching their students, their children, that cheating is the only real way to win? That lying and stealing from those below you is the only way to succeed in life?

"But wouldn't NRC be the most likely school to pull a cheat move in the tournament? Heros don't cheat."

...(*pulls the wallpaper back and peeps a concerned face through*) ..."ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?!"

Because last I recall, I've seen numerous cases where the hero manages to outsmart the bad guy, pull out a trump card to cheat the system and do whatever the heck they want, and get away from the consequences of their actions because they are protagonists who are ment to win from the start. I can think of an example for all three of these, and all examples are from the movies twisted into twisted wonderland.

Aladdin outsmarted Jafar and Jafar turned into a genie and got trapped in a lamp for the rest of time. Alice angered the Queen of Hearts, but managed to escape the consequences of her actions. (Who was right or wrong in these scenarios isn't the point. What they did is.) And Hercules pulled the "I'm a god" trump card out of his back pocket at the last possible second to throw Hades off and get away with Megera's ghost. (This last scenario about Hades losing against a trump card and losing his temper afterwards is a great example of what could happen at the Magift tournament.)

And HOLY COW!!! I thought Crowley was the one who needed an interview about questionable morals, because if RSA was caught cheating against their rivals, who are completely oblivious to the fact that they were being played this entire time for a century, then it would make the students of NRC look like saints compared to their competition.

So wouldn't cheating be a terrible idea? If they got caught the consequences would be dire. But they've been getting away with it for almost a century now.

It's a risk they're willing to take to protect the reputation of their perfect academy.

I've tried watching kdramas for years now and I almost always ended up hating them or just didn't finish them (then forgets about them). It's thoroughly my own fault for choosing the ones with romance as the main stories, I'm not a big fan of them. There are, however, some romance kdramas that I've finished over the years but nothing has ever left an impression on my mind. A few weeks back I tried to look for kdrama that are available on Netflix and I saw the poster of this series. I mean, who am I kidding, everyone was talking about this series way back. I know I'm a bit late. I finished this series with my brother because his girlfriend is so opposed to watching anything remotely resembling zombies (LMAO).

*I honestly gave that 8 out 10 scores for the storyline because I'm still bitter that season 3 is cancelled and there was a big plot at the end of season 2. Also, there are many questions that I want to be answered.

Storyline

I honestly don't know where to begin but I will try to explain it as brief as possible so I won't spoil the entire story. Prince Chang, the crown prince is banned from seeing his sick father. People told him that The King is sick but the Prince becomes very suspicious, probably because rumours are saying that The King is in fact has died from an illness. He sneaked into the King's palace and discovered that there was a monster living there. Curious and wanting to know what really happened to his father, The Prince and his sole bodyguard went to find the royal physician that took care of his father while he was sick.

The royal physician brought back his dead assistant with him. The assistant died from an illness that he contracted while he was attending to the sick King at the palace. The people where the physician lives are so poor and sick. For the patients to be healthier, this mysterious guy who also lives there cook the dead assistant to give them something to eat, especially meat. Those people become very sick and they turn into blood-thirsty monsters. So, just like any other sicknesses, it spread across the area and went bigger and bigger and then there's chaos.

There are some politics, science, and a whole lot of blood in this series and if you don't like gory things don't watch this. But if you don't mind them, this series is one of the best out there to watch.

Characters

There are a lot of people in this series, reminded me of Game of Thrones. So it's a bit hard to keep track if you have a very short term memory like me but after some time, they caught up with me.

I enjoy watching the Prince interacting with the people around him. He's very wise, smart, and just a good human being that is not greedy and thirsty for power. I just love him and my brother and I agreed that the guy who plays the prince is a great actor (well, every single one of them is great, no kidding).

What kind of people would hate on Young-Shin? Those people deserve pain. LOL joking, but I just love how minimal his lines were but it just feels like everything is going to be okay every time he's there. He's an awesome fighter, he uses his body as a weapon, throwing himself into things, really.

Mega Man’s briefs are always a different color than his arms and thighs. Sonic the Hedgehog can never cry.

Fans don’t have to stay on brand. The “brand” is whatever they think it should be. They can do anything with the characters, take them anywhere, write anything they feel like, embarrassing or not. Sonic the Hedgehog is a ghost now? Sure why not. Tails is part of a massive crossover involving every cartoon media property in a war against internet bullying? Nobody can stop you. You can just make up anything and do it. Sega probably wouldn't approve, but if you're a fan, you don't need their approval. You just need faith in your own ideas.

And this even applies to big budget, professional work. We've seen it before, when Sega lets other people redesign Sonic. Style guides and brand rules are what keeps a character in check so they look and act in a consistent way, but if you pull back the curtain and look at what gets submitted before the rules are applied...

...then even professional, “official” designs start getting pretty weird. Artistic license is great and all but people will break characters over their knee and remake them as something unrecognizable if you give them enough room to do so.

And for a fandom, not only can they be like this all the time, forever, they can go even further beyond. When you have an imagination, the sky is the limit.

“No mourners. No funerals. Among them, it passed for 'good luck.” If we added as soundtrack Gimme Gimme by ABBA to this book, it would fit. Can y'all imagine Inej, Jesper and Wylan stealing the tank and running away with that song on the background? Masterpiece. *chef kiss* Six of Crows is by far one of my favorite books. I read it two years ago, after the Grisha trilogy and I have to admit that Leigh Bardugo has improved tremendously as a writer. I consider this a much better story than her main trilogy. The plot, the characters, the writing, the pacing, the descriptions, the worldbuilding and the breadth she has given it is perfection. I'll go in order to describe how much I loved this book. In Six of Crows, we follow six misfits who have a common goal: thirty million kruge. They have to go to the Ice Court in Fjerda, the "safest" prison in the world and rescue, or kidnap, Bo Yul-Bayur, a Grisha who accidentally created a drug called jurda parem, which sharpens and increases the Grisha's powers, taking them to high and unknown levels. We have a sharpshooter who can't stay away from a good bet. A wayward son who was kicked out of his father's house and is underestimated, but is very smart. An ex-convict accused slaver, the world's most handsome, lovable, and idiotic fjerdan brute, out for revenge. A lost Grisha who makes a living healing people and trying to get the fjerdan out of the jail he put him in. A suli girl who is basically a ghost, the Wrath, a spy who defies the laws of gravity and is a sweetheart of a person. And finally, our favorite swindler: the Bastard of the Barrel, someone whom legends have turned him into a monster, someone without scruples, without morals or conscience. Will they be able to unite to achieve their goal and come out alive? Or will they end up killing each other before they reach Fjerda? Plot. As I said, compared to the Grisha trilogy, Six of Crows is perfection at its finest. It's not the first heist book (I've only read this one, sorry), but it grabs you from the first moment. I love that Leigh has taken up the Grisha again - I must confess that I love the Grisha order and how she has placed them - and that in this book she continues to include them as a fundamental part of the plot. Just like the first time, Six of Crows grabbed me, although I never understood why Joost and his chapter, I did feel bad that he was all dead. Each chapter had me hooked and begging for more. Even the very end left me screaming and crying like crazy. I have to repeat it: Miss Bardugo, this is a masterpiece, an exquisite and divine piece. Every plot twist had me in suspense or saying "I need more". It's a more radical departure from what we were given in the Grisha trilogy. They steal, explote things, destroy places and make great entrances, lol

Characters. Kaz "killer cane" Brekker. I want to protect him, and at the same time beat him with his cane. His story is touching at a certain point and makes you understand how or why Kaz became who he is now, why he is such a bastard, arrogant and fearless at the same time. There is never a challenge hard enough for him as he dares to prove otherwise. He shows us that he is one step ahead of the rest, and if he runs out of tricks, our demjin manages and invents more. Dirty Hands is a magician, a monster thirsty for revenge for the death of his brother, Jordie, thanks to a scam Pekka Rollins pulled on them when they were just kids. Kaz is full of secrets, tricks, schemes and more that it's scary to know what he's thinking. He's a bastard forged in the very cauldrons of hell, a seventeen-year-old kid who worked his way up through tooth and nail, using his brother's corpse to swim and get to where he is. Inej "The Wrath" Ghafa. Inej was captured and sold as a slave to the cursed Tante Heleen, who owns a brothel. Inej has the ability to go unnoticed, so much so that Kaz Brekker did not feel her approaching him. In any case, Kaz pays Inej's contract with Heleen and joins the Undesirables, becomes Kaz's right-hand man and his spy, or spider. Kaz and Inej are obviously in love, but they don't confess it to each other because it's complicated, and I don't know if I want to yell at them to kiss, or punch them to make them realize it. Inej deserves the whole world. She can stab me and I would appreciate it. Nina "my queen" Zenik. Nina had joined the Ravkan Second Army and was captured before the civil war in Ravka, she was imprisoned by the drüskelle to be taken to Fjerda to be tried for her crimes, which are basically: having powers. She is a heartrender, order of the Corporalki. She met my other goddess Zoya Nazyalenski. Well, anyway, Matthias was one of the drüskelle who imprisoned her and when their ship sinks, she saves him. Nina and Matthias wander around in each other's company and in the end, she brands him a slaver and Matthias ends up imprisoned in Kerch. One can feel the tension between them: enemies to lovers vibes, yup, I live for that. In the end, to save them all, Nina decides to consume jurda parem and knows that she will experience drastic changes in terms of her power and herself. Matthias "the tulip" Helvar. He is my beautiful baby, the most adorable bear and the cutest brute of all. You don't know how much I have laughed for him, he is so innocent in many things that I want to protect him from everything and everyone. Yes, I have a thing for blond brutes (Nikolai Lantsov, I'm talking to you too). From the first time I read Six of Crows, I instantly fell in love with Matthias and will be in love with him until I die. Amen. I already know what happens to him in Crooked Kingdom and I don't want it to come to that. In the end, Matthias renounces the beliefs that were instilled in him, accepts reality and becomes a Dreg, fighting against his own people. Jesper "crazy hands" Fahey. Jes is a Zemeni boy who came to Kerch to study at the university, but by chance, he ends up becoming a gambler. Jesper is a Grisha, a Materialki, and only Kaz and Inej know his secret. He is a fairly agile sharpshooter and a gambler who can't resist a good game without knowing he will lose. In a slip of the tongue, Jesper confesses what they are about to do and as they are about to leave Ketterdam, they are attacked. Jesper is a baby and I must protect him from all evil and danger. Plus, I really ship him with Wylan. Wylan "little merc" Van Eck. Another baby. I want to protect him from everything and everyone, especially his bastard of a father. Ugh, I hate him. When Jan Van Eck proves to be the jerk he is in front of his son, I wanted to cry with rage because my little baby boy doesn't deserve any of that. Wylan is smarter than others give him credit for, and

even Kaz thinks that just because he can't read doesn't stop him from doing amazing things; he doesn't put it that way, but I do. Worldbuilding. We find ourselves in a totally different country from Ravka. In the Grisha trilogy, we focused more on a description of Ravka, but now, we have two different places: Kerch and Fjerda. Although Shu Han, Novyi Zem, and Ravka are mentioned again, Ketterdam is a fairly fixed point. The description of the places is incredible: you seriously imagine it as a Dutch city in the Victorian era. Tell me I wasn't the only one. I don't know what else can I say about these assholes that I haven't already said. They're so chaotic, funny and you attach to them really quick, even if you want to kick them. I can't really believe they're 16-17-18 years old: they feel really older and "mature", but once you know them, you realize they're a bunch of kids trying to make a heist. Anyways, I loved Six of Crows with my entire life. I'm a sucker for this masterpiece and I'm really looking forward Crooked Kingdom, but knowing what happens to my tullip makes me wanna cry, scream and destroy the world. Okay, Ahkmenrah wins nearly every single one. He is the King of this game. 

Ahk can do this for the whole night, so you better not challange him. He also likes the harder ones. Like Isidora, Scream N Shout (extreme) and Moskau. He’ll get tired, of course, but at least he enjoys it. 

He will do a little victory dance after every single time he wins. Whenever he does that, the other exhibits just roll their eyes, especially his brother. Ahk doesn’t want anyone to feel bad for not winning tho, so he compliments his opponents on how good they were. 

He only stops dancing when he is thirsty. Ahk will get either water or some juice and instantly go back for some more. Everyone just starts wondering how he has so much energy. Like, others can only do two or three in a row, but he is just there, dancing for hours. 

The second best player is Nicky. He is also the one who wanted to play the game in the first place. Nicky is pleasently surprised that Ahk wins most of the time, but he enjoys the game too. 

When he doesn’t play, he’ll record others playing, because he thinks that they are funny when they struggle. If his father has to go somewhere, he’ll make sure to send him some videos about the current battles. There are some exhibits that would like him to delete those videos, but he won’t and they can’t make him. 

Nicky is the one who chooses the dances. He won’t make anyone’s life easy, of course. When he chooses an extreme dance, everyone feels like they are going to die. Even Ahkmenrah thinks that too many extreme dances are way too tiring. After he sees that everyone is tired, he puts on some easier dances. 

The third best player is suprisingly (or not) Al Capone. He doesn’t have the best dance moves, but at least he knows how to move very fast. Al is a pro at Little Swing! After all, that’s very similar to what he did when he was still alive. He’s so smug about beating Ahkmenrah at this dance! 

He likes to dance with Ahk tho, because he wants to beat him. He actually can beat him in some cases, but most of the time he loses to him and Nicky too. Even like this, Al enjoys this game, but after some time he becomes tired and just sits down and watches others dance. 

If another dance comes on and people mess it up, he will laugh at the mistakes. When the exhibits tell him to get a better score than them, he does get up and tries, but sometimes fails. If he doesn’t fail tho, he’ll be like “I told you.” and everyone just rolls their eyes. 

The next one is Amelia, because she was alive aroud Al’s time, so she knows a few things about dancing. The only reason why she is in the fourth place is that she won’t dance that much. She likes the game, but she isn’t too fond of it. She likes Little Swing and Dragostea Din Tei, but doesn’t really like the other dances. It shows when she dances to something she doesn’t really like. 

Even like that, her and Al actually make a very good pair. Little Swing is their favourite dance, so they will dance it multiple times together. Amelia only wins after Al becomes too tired to dance normally tho. It’s not that she isn’t good at dancing, Al is just simply better at it. 

After a few songs, she will sit down and watch the others. Either that or she’ll talk to Nicky. Amelia is interested how this stuff works, so she’ll ask the only person that knows. Nicky tries to explain how they make the game, but it’s hard, since Amelia is kinda old and doesn’t understand a lot of stuff that’s in the 21st century. 

The others didn’t really dance that much, but Napoleon will dance a few times. He only does the easier ones, that doesn’t involve fast movement. He doesn’t really like dancing to fast songs, but Nicky asked him to at least try it. Napoleon enjoys most of it, but there are some parts that he didn’t really like, so he kinda just stops in the middle of the dance and explaines that it’s stupid. 

Al starts teasing him about not being able to dance normally, so Napoleon shuts up and dances through the whole song, just to show Al that he can. This ends up in them fighting, but thankfully Nicky and the others can calm them down. After the fight, he sits down and watches the others play. 

When Napoleon gets bored of just looking at the other exhibits, he either starts talking with Kah and Ivan, or just goes for a walk and comes back a few minutes later. He admires these dances too, but he is just used to waltz and these are nothing like it. Napoleon doesn’t judge anyone liking to dance like this tho. 

Kah would be the next one, because he will only dance one time and it will be because he wants to show that he is better, than his brother. He actually loses the game and is angry about it, so he sits down and doesn’t do anything for the whole night. Well, at least he doesn’t dance. 

He talkes with Ivan most of the time, since both of them find this rather stupid (only Kah, but Ivan agrees with him, so he doesn’t make him angrier), so they have a casual conversation while the other are dancing. Ahkmenrah tries to make him dance some more, but Kah acts like he doesn’t even hear his brother. He is still mad at him for the game and everything else. 

When his brothers starts dancing to Dark Horse, he just sits in the backround looking at the screen and thinking that this is not even close to what Egypt looks(ed) like. He’ll start criticizing everyone and every song because he has nothing else to do. Kah will get bored easily, but he can’t go anywhere because the others don’t trust him that much. 

Ivan probably won’t dance at all. He is just admiring everything from afar. Ivan would dance with someone he loves to his traditional music, but not to this. Other than that, he enjoys looking at the others having fun. Ivan actually congratulates the winners every time, because that’s how he tries to be a part of this. 

He mostly talks with Kah and Napoleon tho. Whenever Ahk wins, his brother will just start saying that he would be way better at this. Ivan just listens to him and sometimes agrees or disagrees with Kah. After he had enough of Kah talking about his brother, he starts talking about something else, so Kah finally calms down. 

Whenever Al starts teasing Napoleon, Ivan steps in to defend him, but of course, this ends in a total disaster. At least he tried tho. Him and Kah then start talking shit about Al’s behaviour. They just like to criticise him.

And a third page written in Italian was added to the historical texts.

“Last of the Great Ones” is interesting, because Zaird says to Sol Regem his staff was a gift from one of the Great Ones. Sol Regem is alarmed but doesn’t immediately know who Zaird is talking about. So apparently between that conversation and when this text was written all Great Ones except for Aaravos died, and even he ‘fell’.

Also this note about Aaravos not being at full power.

As a ‘fallen’ Startouch elf Aaravos can only access a fraction of his former power.

The spell Zaird used to absorb the sunbirds to create the fireball he used against Sol Regem and the spell that Aaravos casts for Viren to absorb Zym’s power are meant to resemble each other in their swirling vortex. The symbol for Dark Magic also has a swirl in it around a diamond shaped like the one on Aaravos’ chest. This absorption vortex seems to be pretty central to Dark Magic, and it only seems it can be done with the staff Aaravos most likely crafted. 

The Show

Zaird staff is the same staff Viren uses. Aaravos recognized it. Given the historical text Aaravos is the “Great One” who gifted Zaird that staff.

Elves don’t seem to ride horses, but big cats, dogs, lizards, etc instead. Yet Aaravos choose to depict himself riding a star primal horse (He could make Viren see any creature he wanted). Considering it turns out that unicorns and Startouch elves are the only two star primal creatures humans know about, is he just being dramatic or does this have a deeper meaning?

When did the idea of Aaravos come up? How early in the planning of the saga did you guys come up with him?

Where is Aaravos walking in epsiode 6? And how and where did he a get a horse?

Aaravos can basically make Viren “see” him however he wants, so he chose to appear on the back of a purple horse. There was actually a line in there at one point that we had to cut for time that clarified a bit more heavily -- Viren grumbles at him, “Must you appear... that way?” as Aaravos is floating in the air, and Aaravos replies, “Ah, I can appear more naturally if you’d like,” and then he flips backwards onto the horse as you see in scene in episode 6. :P

[Laughs] Ehasz: Yeah, they are more - I mean, they’re Star Elves and they’re more associated with the heavens and they’re not immortal, but they have more of a time scale that is more like the stars than other elves, so they’re a little bit removed and big picture, but Star Elves have a, I mean, they’re part of mystery and myth and we’re going to meet one this season. I love the actor who plays him is Erik Todd Dellums, who I worked with on Avatar [the Last Airbender] who has an amazing voice and he’s perfect to embody a character like this and we’re excited about this character. We hope the audience is intrigued and ready for more.

Going back to Aaravos for one second. We’re assuming there’s a reason why he seems to be telling this story — we see his hands at the beginning of each episode in the opening sequence. AE: Yeah, so he’s a Startouch Elf, and they are closest to the heavens of the elves. They’re kind of the most god-like, in the sense of they span much more time than more Earth-bound or Xadia-bound elves. So yeah, he has this thousand year perspective. This kind of mythic role. So he’s like this mythic character who now, suddenly, is kind of popping up in this contemporary story. JR: And obviously, he’s bad enough that they tried to literally erase him from the books. AE: He’s complicated. JR: He’s interesting enough that they tried to erase him from the books. AE: He’s disliked. That’s not the same as bad.

“The name of a very important person to Aaravos will be in the map of a novel, but it will be a long time before you know what that means,” Ehasz said. “A lot of his motivation comes from that relationship.”

The team also teased The Orphan Queen, a new story they hope to tell in the series, books or even in a feature film, which follows a young human girl who starts from nothing and grows up without parents. She takes a dangerous journey to Xadia and ends up saving the world. She’s also Ezran’s first royal ancestor. Ehasz and Richmond said the idea was born when they were imagining where the Key of Aaravos comes from.

Ehasz and Richmond also dug into the timeline of Xadia, and how certain eras will impact both the books and the series. Five thousand years ago, Xadia was in its “mythical, Biblical first days,” a time long before elves and dragons were allied in which humans suffered and struggled. The “rise of Elarion” came around 2,000 years before the events of the series, and saw humans find their way to magic. Around 1200 years ago finds the arch dragon of sun, Sol Regem, as king of the dragons during this era, when dark magic became problematic and humans poached magical creatures for their parts. Shortly after came the division of Xadia. The next big turning point for the world was 300 years before the series, a time Ehasz and Richmond dub “the era of Avizandum.” Two stories they want to tell take place during this era: The Fallen Star and The Orphan Queen. We don’t know anything about The Fallen Star yet ... but we will. The team noted that history will one day know the modern era as “The Return of Aaravos.”

Hey, it's the superpower themed thirsty anon here. I just want to ask smt today rather than updating d.d requests. So my question is: how can you gain aspirations to write so many headcanons per day? What gave you the motivations?

Oof. Well, it’s kind of a long story. And they’re multiple reasons for my “motivation”.

But basically, these twins are pretty much my “comfort characters”. Like, I always think about them and they always bring comfort into my life. Despite one set of twins not having the greatest community back then (from what I heard) and the other set just not being loved at all. And I have this constant need to post something. At least once a day. Not to say if I don’t, then I’ll think that everyone will hate me, since surely it would be a no brainer to think that I’m probably busy with something.

I'm willing to explain this further, or the full story, but I feel like it would be upsetting to read. So I’ll leave a warning since it does handle serious subjects. It mentions a bit about my past and how I got to this point. So continue with caution.

To understand my background a bit more. I remember at one point; I used to make content for another community. For nearly two years, all I did was animate constantly for this community. I took no breaks. I just constantly work every day. I used to enjoy animating since it gave me joy at first, but the thing is; I was kinda pressured into doing so later on. By my “best friend” (at the time) and by my fanbase. My “best friend” at the time was a real piece of shit towards me but no one knew. I always featured them in my animations despite how they would constantly pressure me into doing things. And whenever I tell them “no” (which was always), they'll have a massive temper tantrum. Like, they’d threaten so many things like how they plan to kill themselves, and that it was all my fault. And I put up with this for about 2 years because they were the only person that would actually talk to me. No one else gave a damn about me. I only had them at the time. Until they finally got exposed for their behavior by another user, it turns out they were harassing many female users (all underage), just like what they did with me. So I cut ties with them.

And I had a massive burnout and I pretty much hit rock bottom after that. To keep it short, I really didn’t feel like doing anything or even existing. I just didn’t see a point since I was deeply hurt by many people. But yet again, it felt like freedom. I was finally free from the cycle of repeating shit every single day. Animating every single day while fearing my “best friend” would pull something that would upset me. But… this feeling of making content still stays. I still feel guilty for not making content for that community. But I was also disgusted by the community’s behavior. Like, there’s a lot of drama in that community. Like A LOT. I’d say about 99% of the content creators in that community are actual pedos or extremely immature (like they don’t act their age). Even the top tier popular content creators are pedos (basically, those with power). And the fanbase DEFENDS those people which it’s absolutely disgusting. Like, they always give shit to the victims and they let pedos run free into the community. I wish I was exaggerating with all that, but I’m really not. And this actually upset me. I wanted to leave so badly. But I didn’t want to disappoint people and my current friends. So I just “faded away”. As in, I didn’t bother making any content for the community at all. I just wanted to leave that life behind.

And again, I felt like absolute shit for years. And I still kinda do. But I think around November 2020, that’s kinda when I started to like Sordward and Shielbert more. I had Pokemon Sword for a while (but the constant animating from my past didn’t let me play the game much) and I just started to play it again at that time. And for some reason, it sparked something within me. Like, those two legit gave me comfort. Despite no one even liking them in the slightest. They practically saved my life if you think about it. They pretty much gave me a reason to live a bit longer. And if it weren’t for them, I would’ve never come across the existence of Emmet and Ingo; who also gave me comfort. I would probably still be miserable if I never came across them. And I constantly think about them.

Don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of other comfort characters aside from those four. But for some reason, they just stayed with me. I don’t know why, they just do. And at one point, I thought “what if I made an account dedicated to them? Like writing random headcanons or something? Or make an AU of some kind where they meet each other?”. I had that idea for months but I thought that it might be a stupid idea and that it wouldn’t get much attention (plus, I had THAT old life with me so...). But I finally created this account around September 2021 and started from there. I wanted to at least draw or write stuff for fun. Because I like to create stuff. And I didn't want to annoy my friends with this-

And so, here we are.

Basically, these characters pretty much give me comfort. I do genuinely care about them, despite them being fictional. It’s either that I think about them or I think about depressing stuff. And the need for making content is still there because I like to create content in general. But currently, I don’t wish to continue the life I had before; I don’t want to make content for that other community I used to be in. And making these headcanons generally helps me forget about all that (well, a bit, you can’t exactly erase memories). As a coping mechanism, I suppose. The request or headcanons in my inbox does get me to think about these characters more and I generally like writing for them. It could be wholesome, cute, angsty, funny stuff or whatever, really. I even wrote and drew a few things before making this blog for practice reasons.

I get that I could’ve just said “these characters give me comfort and I like to make content”. But I feel like if I were to be more specific, then people might understand my situation better. As in, it paints a different picture if I explain everything than just say “I like twins”.

I mean, I’m sure that later on I’ll stop posting as much as I do now. But that’s in the future. Now I’m just a bean burrito.

Top 5 fav hlitf cgs?

thanks for this ask!! ahh it was so hard to narrow it down to 5 but i will try my best (with some bonuses bc... how could i not). i’m not going to include vip room CGs here even tho there are a couple of them that i adore too. also i can’t believe i’m not including the soma coming out of the shower CG that i love enough to have made my icon for a very long time now... but that just goes to show how much i love these ones. 

5. are you bullying my aide?

okay so i’m cheating right off the bat and decided to group these two in one category bc they’re like conceptually the same CG lmao. i made a post before about loving instructors getting furious at people trying to hurt you in the sunset. and the fact that two of my absolute fave LIs of all time get these gorgeous fury CGs makes me infinitely happy alskdfls. the sad thing is that there’s an error in soma’s route so the CG doesn’t actually appear in-game...  anyway you know i love seeing cool love interests get mad so these two CGs are a perfect depiction of that.

4. i’ll take compensation

who doesn’t love this scene and CG!! and the in-game version as well where his eyes are open bc he was surprised. i love it so much. that entire ending was so good, with the mc being the Best Senpai Ever? and she tries to blow his socks off with a kiss but then he just grabs her butt and goes in deeper? we stan a tie-grabbing mc. i only wish there was a CG for that elevator kiss too in the sequel(?). 

3. it reminded me of ugly cat

honestly i love all of goto’s s3 CGs bc they are all just so pretty and i love the one as well where tsugaru is joking about him and usa being a couple and goto gets pissed. but this one is just so... pure and soft???? it’s so rare to see goto all relaxed and smiley and i just love it soooo much. also does anyone else find that his smile in this CG is so similar to chiba’s smiling sprite? ughhh this is so freaking cute i physically can’t look at it for too long otherwise i get overwhelmed with feelings. oh and also that cat is so weird looking lmao

2. please... let me be with you

one of my favourite moments of all time. look how stunned kaga looks (but also... how pretty is he here... and how pretty is she.... season 3 CGs are so top quality). the fact that she’s hopped up on painkillers but they’re just fading off so she’s already starting to feel pain again and kaga is already kind of angsting over everything that happened on the case and then tsugaru is taking her home while kaga can’t even speak to her bc of office rules. and she just runs back to the office by herself even tho she’s already starting to feel the pain in her gunshot wound and just bursts into the office and yanks his cigarette out of his mouth and kisses him? and says even if you don’t want me, i want to be with you. honestly this whole moment is like freaking kdrama level dramatic and romantic and i love it so much. it’s like... the perfect moment combined with the prettiest CG. kaga’s pov of this scene makes it EVEN BETTER because he’s literally smitten with her, like he wants her so badly and then she just magically appears in front of him and kisses the life out of him, just as he was thinking about how much he needs her. right at the moment when he’s feeling the most empty, the most hollow, like his entire career in public safety amounted to nothing, she comes back to him. and then there’s that line of his, where he talks about love so fierce that he can’t breathe around it filling his chest and honestly it gets me every single time (also bc i can relate to that feeling lmao) but basically kaga/mc is my favourite couple and this moment and CG are just like... exactly what i love the most about them as a pair. ALSO i love her hair and that gold pin hahaha i want it.

how could i not include this one as a bonus? i’ve been in love with this CG from the very first time i laid eyes on it back in 2018. no context (at the time i think soma’s graduation hadn’t even come out in l365 so we hadn’t even seen his short hair sprite in the intl app), no idea what was even happening in this scene, and yet i was immediately struck by the dangerous look in his eye and that little smile, and also just like... getting to see him in a tshirt and hoodie is so rare? i’m p certain that outfit is just recycled ayumu sprite’s casual clothes. anyway, knowing the context behind this CG makes it 10000x better for me. i wrote this in my unpublished review of soma’s battlefield route but i genuinely believe we’re seeing this CG from his mc’s eyes and that’s what tokito really looked like in that moment - with soma’s face, his hair, his expressions, his hands, his voice. our poor, sweet mc had been suffering for so long to the point where even toru and ayumu noticed that she hadn’t smiled in forever and were trying to cheer her up (and momose too later!!). for me, this CG represents the absolutely heartbreaking sense of delusion that soma’s mc feels in this route, and the way that she keeps trying so hard to project soma onto tokito because of her grief. i genuinely felt like in that moment, she physically saw soma coming to her rescue, like her desires manifest into a delusion. also, this CG comes at an absolutely amazing time bc we had been deprived of seeing soma for like 60% of the route and then we get this CG and suddenly everything is better for a short moment, and then everything goes back to normal and you really get a sense of how upsetting life has been for his mc.

1. come now, love. tell me what you desire

i love this CG. i love it so so so so so much. firstly, i love the look of it. both soma and his mc just look so attractive?? soma’s muscles?? in his shoulders and back especially?! his mc has commented on his shoulderblades and back muscles before which have been honed through kendo practice so i’m very happy to get to see them. the actual text says that the mc is naked but here she’s still wearing a sundress, but she just looks so pretty and like she’s feeling unbelievably good? anyway i scream bc even soma’s hands look good and they still kept that one piece of hair that he has that sticks up lmao what’s gravity anyway? anyway, beyond the sensuality of the image (and also his tongue... and his sweat...), there’s just so much meaning behind it? like yes, it’s very hot and sensual and the dialogue that goes with this scene is unbelievably sexy, but this scene is just super meaningful bc it’s part of their recovery as a couple. they’re on this secret holiday in okinawa and they’re reconnecting after their trauma and idk it’s just so intimate. we really get to see the mc from soma’s eyes and we get to see how he is the only one who can see her weakness behind that strong face of hers, but also how he sees her strength in recovery? the way he describes that scene where she’s in this gorgeous white swimsuit with a sheer coverup and then picks a brown swim float so she can sit atop it on the waves and say “don’t i look like a doughnut?” despite having a literal near-death experience in the sea not too long before honestly had me falling head over heels in love with her, and it really made me understand exactly what he loves about her, and how much he just adores her. anyway this is me gushing over that special story, but what i mean is that the ending of his battlefield in combination with this special story sets up the beginning of soma and his mc’s healing as a couple, and it culminates in this scene. soma is kind of similar to kaga in the sense that they both actually demonstrate their feelings the most honestly through physical means, and here you can just see how palpable the desperation is. they desire each other so intensely and intimately and having this moment for the two of them to share is so significant for their recovery. you can just see how much soma needs to show her that he’s here, he’s really, physically here with her, and he’ll never leave her alone ever again, and he’s so sorry for all the pain she’s had to go through. you can see the way he’s telling her that with his body and with the way he talks to her and is just so himself in bed. there are really parallels between their first night together and this scene (mostly like... him asking her to tell him what she wants lol) and it just makes me so EMOTIONAL.

what can i say? it’s just so beautiful, and every single expression and pose is just so suited for each character i’m in love. 

frankly no real reason for this one aside from the fact that we get to see goto and subaru in yukata and subaru always looks soooo freaking good in hlitf CGs and also goto’s hand is on subaru’s chest and you know we ship gobaru in this house

the third anniversary substory CGs are just amazing (you’ll see the full one in a bit and it’s WILD) but honestly i just need everyone to see this one bc it’s just gorgeous. look at ishigami and kaga and look at how inhuman they look, all sweaty and tired from being in panda mascot costumes. kaga with his sleeves rolled up literally has me salivating. look at PRETTY their faces and muscles are... anyway, this CG has me as thirsty as ishigami guzzling that bottle of water.......... 

i said it was in no particular order but i just need to say that this one is my actual favourite bc it has EVERYONE. and look at how gorgeous they all look.... every single one of them with their hair pushed back ;alskdjfalsk WHO??? WHO LET THIS HAPPEN? NAMBA’S GLOVE? KAGA AND GOTO’S MATCHING SCOWLS? THE ANGLE OF SOMA’S HEAD? TSUGARU’S TONGUE? and also the way his legs are positioned?!?!?! also i love swishy hair ayumu and hide with his leg crossed the other way from kaga and also i’ve never seen toru look this attractive it’s very unfair. 

the sheer amount of chaotic energy in this one is just wonderful and i love all the details. you all know namba is DAY DRUNK. goto and toru in that signature headlock position, ayumu being a lil shit and putting wasabi in all the cupcakes and ISHIGAMI AND KAGA FALLING FOR IT AND SUFFERING??? LOOK AT THEIR SUFFERING FACES JUST LOOK. and you just KNOW that soma is going to suffer the same fate oh sweet mercy this is like “famous last pictures” level of good. also they’re all wearing new clothes which i love sooooo much. i wanna see ayumu in that orange sweater more often and also army green shirt kaga with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms with that look on his face. have i ever been more in love? no.
