LIKE:

“I mean, I ain’t ever seen such a mess! Hell we even had to get a new… uh…”

And even better. I want Jed learning Latin for Octavius once he finds out English is his third language. Because if Octavius learned his first language, then he’ll be damned if he doesn’t do the same for Octavius.

Why does no one talk about the effects lacking organs would have on you?

Introducing the effects of being a mummy!

Sure, the tablet does bring life to the inanimate, but we know it has limits to its power. How much energy and mobility Ahk has would fluctuate from night to night depending on how the tablet is doing. On nights with less moonlight (like if there’s cloud cover) it would be worse than nights with lots of moonlight. With no blood flow, Ahk would experience things like coldness, dizziness, and discolouration in the limbs. Being trapped in a box for 54 years in tight mummy wraps would make him stiff and sore in the joins and weak in the legs. Having no brain and other head parts like the inner ear would make his balance bad. He’d get brain fog and nausea at times.

Ahkmenrah disabled canon. Being dead has strings attached.

Vertigo from the lack of inner ear and brain. Fatigue and being cold all the time from lack of blood circulation and no iron. Everyone in the museum is sick and fed up with the Batfamily sneaking up on them and scaring them, and then leaving in the middle of a conversation

The only exceptions are Attila and Octavious

AU Where Ahkmenrah’s parents (realistically) can’t speak English so he has to translate everything for them. It would be so much funnier seeing Ahk try to explain to Larry why he should “kiss his father’s staff.” Plus, why do they speak English anyway? The tablet doesn’t give them that power, Ahkmenrah himself explains that he learned English while studying at Cambridge. I know the movie did it for the sake of not having to make up fake ancient Egyptian, but still!!

bit of an old one ( made in about november i think ) , but this was a rough sketch for a jedediah design of mine !

i mixed both his animated design and regular design , as i have things from both that i enjoy .

my hand writing is a bit messy , so below the cut you’ll find my notes on this

- his bandana in the animated movie goes above his shirt rather than below

- his shirt is still striped

- i liked his ginger hair for the movie but i prefer blonde , as it keeps him recognizable .

- his chaps in the movie are baggier / longer

- i kept the design from his belt but instead transferred it over to his gun holster . also kept his cropped vest , giving it a bit more pizazz .

- the “ scars “ on the back of his head and a bit on his face are more just for my own personal enjoyment , a callback to the real historical jedediah ( i have done tons of research on the guy ) . whether it makes sense or not wasn’t my motive , it’s just for fun LOL

Headcanon time!

Okay, so you know how Jed and Octavius are obviously gay and the whole museum (and Nick) knows but doesn't say anything bc you have to just let them cook? Well, there's a betting pool.

It starts with a cowboy and a Roman joking about how their leaders are so painfully in love but don't say anything bc they're idiots and then the cowboy goes "I bet you five bucks that your general confesses first, Jed is shit with feelings," and then the Roman's like: "No way, Octavius can't articulate his emotions for shit, five bucks that Jedediah will do it first."

Word goes around the two dioramas and soon everyone's taking sides and placing bets behind their leaders' backs. Word spreads to Nick (who bets on Oct) and then he brings the betting game to the rest of the exhibits (Larry eventually joins in) and soon the whole museum's in on it.

Eventually Jed hears about some giant betting thing but the cowboys lie to him about what they're actually betting on bc they don't want him to know and Jed's like "fuck it" and BETS AGAINST HIMSELF ON ACCIDENT. (They told him it was a red vs blue debate and he voted red).

Anyway for funsies which one are you voting for? (This means a confession put into words. Third movie shenanigans don't count for this one.)

Ahkmenrah’s first sentence in the film is a comedic joke about his situation.

The man has been wrapped up in bandages and screaming his head off every night for over fifty years and his first line? A joke.

“You wouldn’t believe how stuffy it is in there.”

He could’ve yelled. He could’ve pinned blame. He could’ve let out some anger. He could’ve done anything and it would have been warranted because he was trapped for over fifty years.

But he didn’t. He calmly made a joke and immediately started working with Larry to save the people who had kept him trapped for all those years.

Because he’s Ahkmenrah. And he is no less than a fair, just, and diplomatic ruler.

I have no one else to rant to so I’m gonna just drop this here. If you don’t particularly care for LarPhee/Museum Dads, go on ahead and scroll 👌

You know we specialize in crack here. If that’s not for you, that’s completely ok.

Anyhow, I’ve just been thinking about them and their dynamic. More so with headcanons than anything.

Larry and McPhee are much more similar than one might think. I believe they’ve both experienced the same type of loneliness and abandonment in their life. Larry more so than McPhee, but I think I could make an argument for him as well. (Bc it’s quite clear that hes affected from Larry leaving the museum in the second movie. He literally seems jealous of a monkey, which I find hilarious. That might not be the case, but it’s funnier to think about it that way. There’s also this deleted scene in the third film where Leslie quite literally hugs Larry.)

Though, I believe that they go around treating their abandonment issues in two different ways. Larry has the instilled belief that people are going to leave him sooner or later. I mean, why shouldn’t he? Not has he lost most of his love interests, but as well as his family at the end of the third film. There could be argument that’s why people are driven away from him (at least romantically) but I think this idea is more so taken into play by the end of the third film. So he just goes around and acts like they’re going to leave.

Meanwhile McPhee is a little different. He does have the same idea in mind, but he goes around it in a different way. Instead of accepting that people will leave him, he constantly pushes people away before they can do it themselves. Why else is he so harsh? Aside from the wellbeing of the museum, of course. He’s cold because the world has been cold to him. And if we go into my crack headcanon that Dominic Badguy is his brother, that does not help with the fact that he must feel like he’s in a state of danger.

But! But but but, this where I believe the two could help each other. It’s clear that the two of them have severe issues they need to work through, but why not together? The two of them could learn together that neither of them are the problem. That they do deserved to be loved! Whether it be by one another or the people around them.

This is what makes them so interesting to me, in my opinion. They’re clearly damaged and heartbroken people who could rebuild upon each other. And truly, I find that beautiful.
